A real highlight of our trip to Croatia! Great food, drink and fun!

Incredible!! Honestly the best experience we have had in the area so far and one of the best we have ever done for local hospitality. A beautiful surrounding, an engaging and funny tour. Followed by the most amazing traditional, home cooked food. We paid for the 40 euro country food experience with unlimited drinks and it was sensational. Without doubt THE best value for money in the entire region. The live music was brilliant too and the overall atmosphere was just brilliant. If you do one trip, do this one!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Andrew T — Google review
An absolutely superb experience. Dario set the tone from the off and had us all relaxed and laughing within seconds. He is a natural entertainer and enthusiastic and passionate about his business. There were 8 of us. Ranging from 21 to 52 and we all loved it. We booked on the day for the afternoon tour it started with a talk about cold press olive oil then we moved inside to learn about and taste Croatian prosecco. Into another room where we sampled wines and oils. And then a huge meal that we could not finish. The music singing and dancing was great fun and created a wonderful atmosphere. 4 of us are vegetarian and were catered for very well with more food than we could eat. I recommend you go easy on the starters, oil, cheeses and bread as you need to leave room for the other delicious courses. roasted vegetables, potatoes and meats. The experience started at 15.45 and finished about 18.15. We could have stayed as ll night. Two other groups were with us. A couple from another eastern European country and a small coach of Americans. Everybody had a blast. There is shade from beginning to end. We paid at the end and bought some wine too. We would have loved some olive oil but the liquid limit on the plane home would not allow it. We work in tourism and know what an effort it is to maintain this Hugh l we felt level. 5 stars+++

We went for dinner they my wife organised via email. The owner was so friendly and explained what we were eating. You are served what they make that day so no choice. However the food was superb. There was even a live music group to give a fantastic atmosphere. The price was €30 for adults and €15 each for kids. Drinks are on top of this price. There was so much food so come hungry!

Absolutely incredible lunch!! 03/10/25 We turned up without a booking and the guy went out of his way to accommodate us. Not only did he accommodate us but went above and beyond. So much information and passion. Family run business from start to finish incredible and your son is an absolute credit to you! Don't hesitate go here the food is out of this world 10/10
Emily W — Google review
Wow what a find! An incredible experience of Croatian food. Dario is so welcoming and friendly. I emailed him beforehand to find out what days they did dinner, he said Saturday. So we booked! If you come here don't eat anything that day! Dario offered us two options, 170kuna pp for 4 courses or 4 courses & wine/beer for 200kuna pp. We went for the later and he doesn't hold back! He even says if you want more he would bring us more. The food is insane. So delicious, one of our best meals in Croatia. Plus the atmosphere is amazing. You start with a board of different hummus' with fresh bread, then cheese and meats, then lamb & veal with the best roast potatoes I've ever eaten and then an apple cake dessert. We had pre-ordered the lamb, but Dario encouraged us to try the veal and gave us half and half. We are so glad he did! The veal was the best bit! So moist, it melted in our mouths! Really easy Uber ride from Cavtat and back. Thank you Dario & your wife cooking in the kitchen.
Jessica J — Google review
Dario and his family serve up a great experience. Great food, wine and music. We had a wonderful time learning about wine and olive oil. Dario is super funny and jokes with everyone. This is a must do experience if your in the area. Visit Sokol Grad while you're in the area. Also family restaurant Konoba Ivankovi is close by and an excellent place to have dinner or lunch.

Best experience we had in Croatia by far, place is great, staff is super fun and the food is really amazing. Best best atmosphere, thank you guys, from the 3 Italians who came yesterday.

AMAZING!!! Goran was so gracious! His place is a dream come true! We didn’t stay over night but wished we did!!! We did the wine/bike tour and it was the GREATEST way to celebrate our last day in Croatia! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! ❣️❣️❣️

We had a wonderful birthday party for our two sons. There is a great area in the shade with tables for a large group, and plenty of space and atractions for kids. Goran and Zoran led the kids on a thrilling climb through the adventure park, ending with a zip line which everyone loved. They are both amazing profesionals, we felt the kids were perfectly safe at all times. Highly recomended!
Borna L — Google review
We had a great day there with Zoran and Goran (hopefully I'm spelling it right, but probably not), two friendly and relaxed guys with a heart for nature. We were a group of four kids and three adults and we had a lot of fun doing the adventure park with the ziplines which these two comrades have built themselves. A great experience to be climbing in and between trees in a forrest looking out on the mountains.
Arne — Google review
We stayed in the Treehouse for 2 nights. Luckily there were no groups making use of the adventure park else they would have invaded our privacy as the house is located in the middle of the activities. The house is well equipped with an amazing shower. We had a wonderful time there and can recommend it. Amazing being there at night with only nature sounds to be heard. It is located in a beautiful area of Croatia with restaurants and beaches not to be missed. Zoran was a very kind host. Luckly Croatia is a safe place as we were totally alone in the park because there is just 1 house.
Annalie G — Google review
The location is great, easy to get to. The staff were very nice and very friendly but there was some confusion that ment my daughter thought she could do all 3 levels of zip line activity but then was stopped doing level 3 after only doing two levels and she was very disappointed. If from the start she was told only two levels i dont think there would have been the problem. There was a height restriction on the 3rd level so they should have known from the start that she could not do this. It is for safety so i have no problem with that but it would have been nice to know this restriction from the start. The rest of the group continued on to level 3 and i stopped with my daughter so the activity ended after a short time, only 60 minutes and this included time putting on harness and safty briefing. We were less then 30 minutes actually doing the activity and for this i think the price was very high, 200 kuna for an adult and 150 for my daughter.
Eoin B — Google review
Great food, with beer. Only stopped for a bite to eat. No get out and have fun, but next time. Went on the bike ride with Zoran a few weeks back and had a fab time.

Pasjača Beach

Mentioned on
10 lists

Outdoor Activities
Beaches
Pasjača Beach is a hidden gem tucked beneath high cliffs near the village of Popovici in Dalmatia. Accessible via a dramatic stepped trail, this secluded beach boasts intensely blue and green waters lapping at its pebbly shore. While it may be a bit challenging to find, the journey is well worth it for travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience.
Pasjača Beach near Dubrovnik is truly unique and worth the visit. The scenery is breathtaking, with crystal clear water and dramatic cliffs. The beach itself is small and requires a bit of a walk down many steps, but that makes it feel more secluded and special. It can get crowded in summer(we visited on August 17 around midday, 1–2 PM, and it was very busy)so it’s best to go early. Overall, an amazing spot for swimming and relaxing in nature!
Dariana D — Google review
Truly THE most remarkable scenery and place to swim close to Dubrovnik. By the shore, there’s really not that much space to sunbath though. We went there in the afternoon and got easily a parking spot, but still down by the beach. It was very difficult to find a spot to lay down our stuff for swimming. Down by the water, there isn’t any kind of service available, but up by the parking there’s a small kiosk and a possibility to get a shower for 1€/1min. Remember to bring a lot of water with you, because you will need it when climbing back up 😅
Kimmo K — Google review
One of the best hidden beaches I saw in my life so far... It's definitely something you shouldn't miss while being somewhere nearby. In my case I wasn't able to go there at the "beach area" that you can see at most photos because of high tide, so be prepared that you might have to sit on rocky pathway instead - you can compare how it looked like when I was there with other photos to see what I mean by that.
Kuba Z — Google review
Pasjaca Beach near Dubrovnik is a stunning, small beach below steep cliffs. It features a unique mix of soft sand and pebbles, with crystal-clear turquoise waters. The beach is accessed by a steep staircase, offering rewarding views but requiring good footwear and some effort. Pasjaca is remote and peaceful, without facilities, making it ideal for nature lovers.
Kemal K — Google review
Beautiful beach with sand and rocks. The water is so clear and clean! In order to get there you need to walk down a steep way with stairs and also partly rocks. It's possible to do that with small kids, but you need to be very careful. Do not forget to bring enough water and some snacks as you cannot buy anything there.
Jessica E — Google review
Free parking, there is a small bar with drinks right next to the parking, 1€ for 1 minute shower. The way to the beach can be bit tricky because there are a lot of stairs but once you make it to the beach you are gonna forget all about the stairs. The water is crystal clear. There isn’t much space because it’s mostly surrounded by cliffs and big rocks, so come earlier to secure a spot. If you around this area this is a MUST.
Elena B — Google review
This is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen in Croatia! Especially in the morning before 9:00, there are few people on the beach which makes it more charming!
Yunjia B — Google review
Nice to visite once but too hard to go upstairs with children, fantastick vie on the way and on beach, small place but breathtaking view of rock over you.

Surprisingly good lake for kayaking (no kayak rentals though), with clean water and nice view of the mountains close to Niksic. Only a little bit more than 1 hour from Durmitor, which makes it a perfect destination if the weather is bad up there.

Sokol grad / Sokol Fortress

Mentioned on

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Sokol Grad, a restored fortress dating back to 2000BC, is a must-visit historical site in the Konavle Region. Built in the 14th century as protection against the Ottoman Empire, it has been opened to the public after restoration. The fortress features a museum showcasing its history and significance, along with stunning views of the coastline up to Dubrovnik. Visitors can explore its impressive architecture and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Some of the reviews almost put us off visiting, but I'm glad we ignored the negativity and went anyway, it was definitely worth it. Yes, it's quite small, but if you take your time, take in all the sights and information, and hour easily passes. The place is fascinating and the views are beautiful, even the drive up is interesting, it depends on your personality. Relax and enjoy, there is no need to rush.
Mark F — Google review
It sounds like the Sokol Fortress offers a unique historical experience with well-maintained facilities and stunning views. However, my main concern is the entrance fee of €10, which I feel is too high for the size of the site, especially in comparison to larger European fortresses with lower entry costs. While I understand the importance of maintaining such historical landmarks and covering operational costs, I believe that a lower fee, such as €5, would be more appropriate. Despite this, for those willing to pay the fee, the fortress could still be a worthwhile visit due to its historical significance and picturesque surroundings.
Yo L — Google review
A really interesting fortress. You can spend a couple of hours here. Good information. Beautiful views. Not suitable for people who struggle to get around.
Mark P — Google review
A nice piece of local history. You can fully tour this lookout fortress and appreciate living is such a place. Have story boards describing the history, use, and living in this place.
Greg S — Google review
10 euros to get in but that is OK (contribution to local economy etc). Not massive but some nice little exhibits and splendid views across the valley. All displays have English descriptions so that was cool. No restaurant but there are toilets and little shop...give it a go and get some local history into those veins 😂
PompeyStevieSoul — Google review
A short drive from main road well sign posted, good parking ,10€pp,steep steps every where but we'll doable, vistas far as you care to see, gift shop toilets
Stephen — Google review
Well quite a surprise. The inside was very informative but unsuitable if you have any walking issues. It’s free to wander around the outside. €10 adults €5 children.
John W — Google review
Great castle/ fort renovation. 10 euros entry helps keep the place in tip top condition. The displays and information boards are really good , the views from the top great. Little shop selling t shirts etc. Recommend a visit.

Ramparts of Onogošt

Mentioned on

Sights & Landmarks
I passed and visited a beautiful location with a picturesque view of the town. It would be advisable for local authorities to ensure proper maintenance of this place, as it serves as an office for some locals. The fortress Ramparts Of Onogošt in Niks c is known for its breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to witness the end of the railway. Despite its run-down appearance, it still holds a certain charm.
We drove passed and stop by this place. Nice place can see the town veiw. Better some local office there should look after this place well.

It is in ruins but fun to explore and also free. Went here early in morning and it has magnificent views of the town. Great if you love to explore ruins like i do. Easy to find with google maps

Right now it's closed, both entrances are sealed with a lock. Maybe on the weekends? Still a nice view from the outside. You can park outside at the parking place.

Ostrog Orthodox Monastery

Mentioned on
16 lists
Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Ostrog Orthodox Monastery, dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog, is a 17th-century pilgrimage site in Montenegro. It was rebuilt in the 1920s and is visited by pilgrims, religious tourists, and travelers who come to pay homage to the miraculous relics of St. Vasilije of Ostrog. The monastery is perched on a cliff face 900m above the Zeta valley, making it a unique and spiritually significant location for Orthodox Christians.
I know that everyone is going for a different problems they might face, whether is health or other issues. But the negativity the people are bringing is just not right. We are all there to find out peace. I have to say at the moments I did. I enjoyed my barefoot walking on the stairs from the parking to the monastery. At the monastery as well. But I had to isolate mentally in order to find the peace. The people are yelling and annoyed by everything. Like, all right people, we are all waiting in line for the same purpose, that's why we are there. There is no need to skipping the line and playing smart. Regarding the sleeping, yes it is on the ground and there are a lot, but a lot of blankets enough for everyone. Don't grab it, don't push it. There is no your space or my space for sleeping. It is open for everyone and It is just a corner where you need to calm and huddle and nap, you are not in a hotel there to sleep in luxury and take the whole space. But intolerance was way over the head to many people, even to the guards that are working there which are constantly yelling. It doesn't matter if there are many people or not every day, respect to each other, helping around, navigating and maybe creating some rules might help. Paint some lines for sleeping, where people need to make open space to the toilet or the water, because skipping on the blankets makes them mad. And please oh please clean those toilets. The toilets are so far away, but the container trash is so close that people are practically sleeping in front of them. It is a holy place, I would love to go again, maybe at different period of the year (definitely not summer again)
Martina D — Google review
you are in the area, I definitely recommend a visit. It’s best to go early in the morning, as it gets very crowded later on. There are two parking areas available – one at the base and another higher up for cars. The place itself is beautiful and has a spiritual atmosphere, though it can get quite busy with many visitors.
El B — Google review
Beautiful and authentic monastery. Half an hour is enough to look around. No caffe or restaurant there, probably because it's an active monastery. A shop with icons, crosses and other religions staff as well as some souvenirs is present on site. Road to it is quite slippery due to a lot of stones in asphalt mass - be careful especially if road wet.
Alex S — Google review
Interesting place to visit. Neat how they've perfectly blended in the building into the rocks. Looking at the amount of parking places around here and the waiting line structures at the entrance it can get crazy busy. When we were here end of October nobody was here. If the barrier to the last segment is open, you can just drive through it and park your car right in front of this place for free. Quite a few parking places there. We started by parking at the last official parking lot before the barriers at first, but from there it's still quite a climb to get to this monastery so we turned around and decided to drive all the way up, which was perfectly fine. The views over the valley are nice. Not much to see other than that. You can get inside some rooms of the building, but it's not that interesting. If you don't hold a religious relationship with this place, it's nice for a quick visit, but otherwise, especially when it's busy, I would say skip it.
Koen Z — Google review
A beautiful monastery in the middle of a mountain. The walk up is a big one and i would definitely recommend bringing water and good shoes on a hot day. We waited for about 10 minutes to get into the monastery itself and we had to wear a little piece of clothing to cover our knees. It more than worth it to visit this place!
Marijn P — Google review
A trip to Montenegro should include a visit to this incredible Monastery. Many go as a Pilgrimage, but no matter why you choose to visit, it's can experience not to miss. There are a couple parking lots. The upper lot is the best option, but still requires over 150 steps to climb.
Debbie F — Google review
The place is a must visit regardless of your religious beliefs. For those who believe - it's considered the most sacred place in Montenegro and probably one of the most visited for the pilgrimage in the entire Balkans. For those who not too much in religion - the monastery was built in the vertical cliff high in the mountains in the 17th century. Not the everyday sight, isn't it? The place is well known for the miracles happening there. Those who come there for the pilgrimage walk 3000 steps upstairs barefoot. Those who come just to see can drive up the slope and walk the remaining part from the parking lot along the zigzag road or take the same steps. Cars with disabled persons or small babies can drive up to the top straight to the monastery. The views from the top are stunning and tend to set you to the meditation. Those who believe can enter the small chapel with 17th frescoes and approach the remains of Saint Basil of Ostrog, pray, get the blessing, it's a very peaceful and blessing place.
Artemiy K — Google review
Not worth the stair climbing and the walk. The building is kind of impressive and the view is nice, especially from the top balcony. The parking near the monastery is only for disabled people and (at least that’s what the sign says; we were not allowed there). So, if the general parking is far, you have to climb a lot of unsafe and unstable stairs.

Our Lady of the Rocks is a small man-made island with a 17th-century Roman Catholic church and museum. Visitors can embark on a day trip from Kotor, which includes stops at Bijela for swimming, Mamula Island, the Blue Cave, Yugoslavian tunnels, and Porto Montenegro for lunch. The tour culminates with a visit to Our Lady of the Rocks where guests can explore the church and museum before heading back to Kotor.
I wouldn't give anything different than 5 stars for this location. It's a small picturesque island, easily accessible by boat from Perast (5 EUR per person, two way ticket, the boat is available every 10 minutes). The Church has a fee, 3 EUR per person. It's small but beautiful, has a museum inside and you can learn some history for the area. And the views from the island are more than spectacular. The place is a must visit if you plan to go to Montenegro.

Visiting Our Lady of the Rocks was an absolute highlight of my trip to Montenegro! Perched gracefully on its tiny man-made island in the Bay of Kotor, this stunning church feels like something out of a fairytale. The boat ride over is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sparkling Adriatic waters, and then suddenly the island appears—small, serene, and steeped in history. The church itself is a gem, adorned with beautiful frescoes, intricate paintings, and an atmosphere that radiates peace and devotion. Every corner tells a story, from the legend of the seamen who created the island stone by stone, to the centuries of faith preserved within its walls. The museum attached is small but fascinating, housing a rich collection of artifacts and votive offerings left by sailors. What struck me most was the sense of harmony between the island, the church, and the surrounding nature—it feels like a sacred meeting point between humanity and the sea. Whether you’re religious, a history lover, or simply someone seeking beauty and tranquility, Our Lady of the Rocks is a must-visit.
Vello P — Google review
The church is located on a small island and the atmosphere is very pleasant when you get there. The island is in the middle of the Bay of Kotor, you can see Perast well from the island.
Monica A — Google review
According to the legend, local seamen found an icon of Madonna and child on a rock sticking out of the sea way back in the 15h century. Thinking it a miracle, they started to slowly bring rocks to create this artificial island upon which a Catholic church was eventually erected. Even today there is an event called фашинада/fašinada whereby locals bring more rocks to drop into the sea and, thus, expand the island further. A fascinated story, and indeed, the church and the island are undeniably beautiful, a true pearl of the sea so to say. However, lamentably, it is precisely this sublime beauty that attracts and uncomfortable amount of people to the island, which renders visiting this place a bit less pleasant than it would be otherwise. Also, to enter the church itself requires paying as well, which is not something I can subscribe to, but if you're willing, make sure to have some cash at the ready if you want to get inside.
Nikola R — Google review
It’s a nice little place. We went kayaking to the place and could leave it there safely. The church is a scam, you have to pay to enter a small church when most are already paying to come to the island by boat?… it’s a cute little place for some pictures, but you’ll have seen everything in about 5-10 minutes.
Thomas O — Google review
This place is a must-visit when you’re in Perast! Take the small boats to get there and don’t be tricked by the people at the parking entrance asking for €20 per person. The island is beautiful for photos and has a special sense of peace. I couldn’t leave without mentioning the photo of Mother Teresa, our great Albanian woman, above which visitors had left their rosaries 🙏
Xhulia P — Google review
Nice little island, €10 for a short boat ride over. It has some great views and a small museum, but don’t visit for too long.
Oscar S — Google review
The church sits on an artificial island created by bulwark of rocks and by sinking old and seized ships loaded with rocks. Renovated in 1722. There's an entrance fee and it can be quite crowded so you'll have to wait in line to enter. Don't forget to take a picture of the beautiful ceiling paintings.

Saint Nicholas’ Church

The Church of Saint Nicholas, also known as Crkva Svetog Nikole, is a Serbian Orthodox church located in Perast. Despite being built in the early 20th century, it boasts impressive decorations and two iconic onion domes. Inside, visitors can admire stunning frescoes and an intricately adorned iconostasis. For a small fee, you can ascend the bell tower for panoramic views of Perast and the bay.
The Church of St. Nicholas in Perast, Montenegro, is a prominent Roman Catholic church originally built in 1616, replacing an earlier church from 1564. It features a distinctive 55-meter-high bell tower constructed in 1691, which is a major landmark of Perast and offers panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor. In the 18th century, a larger church was constructed behind the original one, designed by Venetian architect Giuseppe Beati, but construction was never completed due to interruptions caused by the Napoleonic Wars. Today, the old and unfinished new churches form a single complex. The church is notable for its Baroque architecture with elements of Romanesque and Renaissance styles. Inside, it houses valuable paintings by local artist Tripo Kokolja and a treasury containing religious artifacts and vestments from the 16th and 17th centuries. Visitors can enter the main worship area for free or pay a small fee to access the domed central room and a museum collection of religious relics. The bell tower is also open for €1, providing stunning views of the surrounding area. Children are not allowed to go up. The Church of St. Nicholas serves not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of Perast's historical wealth and cultural heritage, making it a must-see attraction in the town.

A must-visit in Perast! St Nicholas Church boasts a majestic 55 m bell tower (built in 1691) with one of the best viewpoints over the bay. Inside, you’ll find breathtaking Baroque altars and a small but exceptional treasury. Climb up for unforgettable views and dive into the town’s rich maritime past
Violina P — Google review
The present church was built in 1616. Next to the church, in 1691, a handsome belfry was constructed by Ivan Skarpa. Built in the baroque period, it has elements of both Romanesque and Renaissance styles. The major bell was given as a present by the archbishops Andrija and Matija Zmajevic in 1713. Two smaller bells were added in 1797. The clock on the belfry was brought from Venice and installed in 1730.
Vadim S — Google review
Beautiful church and filled with marvellous paintings, sculptures and the like. If the Italian influence shines through, then Perast is filled with these things as it is a Baroque town. Just wish the staff could be a little nicer - yes, it may not be terribly interesting but when people come to buy things and help towards the maintenance of the church, a smile would go a long way.
Andrew M — Google review
Quite a modest church compared to ro some others nearby. There is a museums insied witha €2 entrance fee which I didn't go too. Right next to it you can pay €1 and ho up rhe clock tower. Which has amazing views.
Edgar Z — Google review
Everything is quite nice, apart from the lady sitting at the museum entrance. She is exceptionally rude to everyone; to a couple who wanted to know about the bell tower, she told “I don’t know what you ask for, the bell tower doesn’t belong to me.” Upon asking about bell tower ourselves, “closed at 4, will you go in the museum?” And before even we got to answer, she continued “About to close it as well maybe you don’t have time.” Genuinely hope this young girl have the rest of her day go better as she was a menace to every visitor.
Tugce T — Google review
Very nice place, restaurants look expensive, can find parking at the 2 edges of the city or on the road on top, then descend through the stairs

The recognizable symbol of Perast is a 16th-century church with a long tower that you can admire from all sides of the town, from the water and land.

Rapid ferry. Good and comfortable service. Affordable price. Just 5€. Taking only ten minutes to cross the lake. Nice view around. Busy during the summer holiday season. Highly recommended to use this ferry.
Vladimiros K — Google review
In winter time traffic is good and you dint have to wait in cue. April May quite busy and in summer gets worse. Try to check navigation system for traffic before heading there. Short and lovely trip. Pedestrian free of charge cars €5.
Nassif H — Google review
The ferry ride in Kamenari is quick, easy, and very straightforward. You never have to wait long – the transport goes really fast, which makes crossing super convenient. The views while you’re on the water are beautiful, and it’s a nice little moment to enjoy the scenery of the bay. The staff are relatively friendly and professional, and the price is totally fine – just 5€ per crossing with a car. For how efficient and smooth the process is, it definitely feels fair. Overall, it’s a reliable and stress-free way to get across, and a part of the local experience in Montenegro.

had a very pleasant experience with this ferry. The price is great – only 5 euros for a car – and the trips are always on time. The journey itself is smooth and beautiful, making the whole experience truly enjoyable.

*Accurate as of September 2025* Very good ferry, €5 per car. You have to get out of your car and walk to the kiosk for your ticket. Right before you drive onto the ferry, the worker will take your ticket and they'll direct you where to park. They're very fast and efficient. Ferry is 24/7 however the amount of ferries in use at night are reduced.

The Bay of Kotor, often likened to a fjord, is a stunning natural wonder surrounded by rugged cliffs and charming towns. The historic town of Kotor, nestled within the bay, boasts well-preserved Baroque architecture and holds UNESCO World Heritage status. Perast, strategically positioned at the bay's entrance, was once a vital maritime center and is home to the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks on an artificial island.
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!!!! You have to visit and just drive round and enjoy the scenery!

Went on a solo trip and booked an excursion to see the island in its entirety. Stopped at Bay of Kotor, and this place is beautiful. This is a must do as tourists from cruise ships and normal holiday makers swamped this stunning Bay. Restaurants and souvenir shops were abundant, and it was nice to pass the time in this amazing place.

Great place, stunning views. A must go if in Montenegro. Loads of boat tours to choose from! Visited the Church Our Lady of the Rocks, the Blue Cave, and the Ex-submarine base.

It doesn't really surprise me that the Bay of Kotor is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Although very touristy, the bay is definitely worth a visit. The towns and villages around the bay, especially Herceg Novi, Tivat, Perast and Kotor, have many beautiful sights to offer, and of course a boat trip across the bay should not be missing from the to-do list. The views of the bay and the surrounding mountains are especially beautiful from the water. In short, the Bay of Kotor has a lot to offer the visitor!

This bay is awesome. We had a speedboat cruise and it was great. The view of the bay from the mountains is amazing. You have to see the bay from different places.

The site belongs to the UNESCO list and one can right away see why. Very close to Dubrovnik, it offers stunning views and is a bit less over touristic, though still very touristic. Views from up the hill are worse the quite demanding hike... or you can take a car or bike up the serpentine.

A wonderful place to spend the day or evening — highly recommended!

Beautiful modern port with shops, cafes, restaurants and grocery market. The entire port is easily accessible by walking, with multiple small venues to check out, good coffee and a range of restaurants. The port also has top luxury stores throughout its area. Check it out if you’re around the area.

Violina P — Google review
It's an OK place, very modern with lots of boats. Some expensive restaurants and shops. Not really any history or culture, just a place to play for rich people. There are much nicer places to visit in Montenegro and in the Kotor area.

We’ve been based in Port Montenegro for four years now, and it just keeps getting better. The infrastructure is constantly evolving in the best possible way — everything is modern, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The entire marina is surrounded by lush greenery, which gives it a very relaxed and luxurious feel. The promenade is absolutely stunning, perfect for evening strolls or morning coffee with a view. There are also some truly fantastic cafés and restaurants — stylish, with great service and high-quality food. It’s a pleasure to be here year after year.

Beautiful place! Totally different vibe from the old Kotor or Budva cities. Great for having a dinner in one of the fine dining restaurants nearby or just for a walk. A lot of yachts, good looking people, places to sit down and enjoy the views. Very clean and modern place. Not that big, you can see all of it in 30 minutes. Also there are lots of luxury brand shops and delicious cafes (recommend the Kafeterija for coffee)

Very nice and upmarket marina. Carparking was good with plenty of spaces. Can see this becoming a bit of a go to place over the next few years once established. Road in and out is a bit of pain. To be fair the whole of Montenegro is quite difficult to get around in peak season as there's usually only one by bypass which connects everything and it does get rather busy.

The Blue Cave, located on the Lustica Peninsula, is a breathtaking natural wonder known for its iridescent blue waters. This UNESCO attraction offers boat tours, kayaking, and snorkeling opportunities. The cave gets its name from the stunning reflection of the water that gives it a mesmerizing blue hue. Visitors can spend hours swimming and capturing picturesque moments in this magical setting. The Bay of Kotor, where the cave is nestled, attracts travelers seeking serene waters and natural beauty from around the world.
We sailed to Blue Cave on a boat with 50 pax and managed to get inside. It’s not possible to swim there due to waves so do not get mislead with the add. You will sail out of the cave and swim just outside. The water is perfect not cold I would say. Amazing experience.

If you have never seen a sea cave, and are willing to brave 45+ minutes each way from Kotor for a 5 minute view, go for it. Otherwise it is totally another sea cave with not much special. No swimming and lots of traffic. Would have opted out with a better understanding of the undertaking to come see it. If you want to go, just get a private speed boat on your own.

Came end of season on a boat wed hired for the day, so a much calmer experience. No rush there. Captain time visit between "waves" of the fast boats, so only us and one other boat. Snorkeled thought the cave which was breathtaking and we swam into the smaller caves too. If you don't want to whizz and bounce there and back with no swim, I can recommend Captain Ivan bost hire and make a full 9 hour day of enjoying the whole bay as well as this beautiful cave.

The Blue Cave is a magical spot where sunlight turns the water a glowing, electric blue, it feels like stepping into another world. Swimming inside the cave was an unforgettable experience, with clear, cool water and stunning natural light. It’s a must visit if you’re exploring the Montenegrin coast by boat.
Mohammed I — Google review
The water is as blue as promised. Far too many boats to enjoy the ambience and weren’t able to swim in the cave however would recommend a must see if you are in kotor. Was able to swim outside of it. The water was warm and clear.
Gabe K — Google review
The cave itself is not that interesting. 4 boats could fit and we only spent a few minutes. But the boat ride out and back was awesome. Expansive views.
Sean E — Google review
A must-see when visiting Kotor! The color of the water inside the Blue Cave is unreal - crystal clear and glowing blue. We took a small boat tour and it was the perfect way to explore.
JYOh — Google review
Can’t be accessed during choppy seas. If you get sea sick easy and the sea is choppy don’t go on this trip, saw several unwell guests who did this. It’s also a tad dangerous, the boats time entering the cave with the waves, a wrong move and the boat will crash on the top of the cave. Once in there swimming just be aware boats have to speed to enter so have your wits about you, there is no health and safety. Inside is a tight space with choppy waves hitting the sides of the cave all mixed in with swimmers, kayakers, other boats and paddle boards. Very nice but risky in some areas and if you get sea sick not recommended (unless you get a very calm day indeed)

The Kotor City Walls are an incredible sight to behold in the Old Town of Kotor. Standing for over 1200 years, these walls have withstood numerous earthquakes and serve as a testament to the town's rich history and the resilience of its people. Originally constructed in the 9th century, they have been continuously modified and improved until the 19th century. The fortifications offer stunning views of Kotor and are particularly enchanting when illuminated at night.
Walking the Kotor City Walls is an unforgettable experience that blends breathtaking views with a deep sense of history. The climb is steep and can be quite a workout, especially on a hot day, but the panoramic views over the Bay of Kotor and the old town below are absolutely worth the effort. Each step up the stone path feels like a journey back in time, with ancient fortifications, churches, and gates whispering stories from centuries past. Be sure to wear good shoes, bring water, and start early or later in the day to avoid the midday sun. It’s a must-do for history lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to experience the magic of Montenegro from above. Highly recommended!

It is a good place to visit. The restaurants inside old town is over priced. There are some hidden jewels in souvenir shops specially the hand drawn paintings. Lots of cats which makes the place worth visiting if you are a cat lover. Overall a very nice vibe for a day’s outing.

Kotor’s Old Town Walls offers a lot of interesting shops and sights to see. Once inside, you can find a lot of restaurants and shops. Walk further close to the walls and you’ll find entrance points to walk on the fortress’s walls. There are a lot of hotels inside the area and navigating through them can prove to be a challenge especially if you have to drag with you your suitcase. The walkways are narrow and filled with tourists so be sure to check your timings. IMPORTANT NOTE: Parking is VERY difficult to find so make an effort to come to Kotor’s parking area very early to find a spot.

Old Town Kotor Montenegro I traveled to Kotor alone and instantly fell in love with this place. I felt completely safe walking through the narrow cobblestone streets surrounded by ancient stone walls and mountain views that feel straight out of a storybook. It’s where history and modern life meet centuries old architecture filled with cafés, shops, and restaurants full of charm and character. There are amazing hikes nearby too especially the fortress trail overlooking the bay, which offers one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. Between the turquoise water, the friendly locals, and the peaceful vibe, Kotor is a destination that truly captures your heart. *UNESCO heritage site

We were out of season at the beginning of April It was a bit cold But it's just fun to walk in the old town on the walls, between the alleys, shops and cafes We also climbed from the walls up but it was under renovation so we weren't allowed to go all the way up for the trail There are all kinds of tourist hunters trying to sell a boat trip on the lake in the Bay of Kotor. It's nice, a bit long. Maybe in the summer it's nicer when you can get into the water and it's really cold in the boat. It's highly recommended to bring warm clothes Another thing we were off-season but it's very busy, very congested and hard to find parking so if you're coming by car it's a bit not recommended, it's quite a nuisance and a pain

Hostel Old Town Kotor is a laid-back accommodation housed in a charming 13th-century stone building, offering both dorms and private rooms along with complimentary Wi-Fi. The hostel is known for its vibrant social scene, hosting daily sunset barbecues, party cruises, and pool parties to encourage interaction among guests. Situated on the outskirts of Kotor's picturesque Old Town, the hostel provides an authentic experience within a historic setting.
Hostel Old Town Kotor is a fantastic place to stay! The hosts and volunteers are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is great for meeting fellow travellers. We booked a private room, which was absolutely fantastic-honestly, it felt more like a hotel room than a hostel! Super comfortable and clean. My only complaint is about the bathroom setup: since there’s no divider between the shower area and the toilet/sink, the bathroom floor often ends up wet, especially if previous guests don’t sweep up after showering. It’s a small inconvenience, but worth mentioning. Overall, I would 100% recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Kotor. Great value, wonderful people, and a comfortable stay!

My group’s stay here was awesome! The front desk staff was very willing to help with any questions we had whether it was travel logistics or any information about the town. They helped us find hikes to do, food to try, and more. The rooms were well maintained and the bathroom was cleaned every day. Lastly, the events hosted the by hostel allowed us to connect with the other guests which made our experience feel very rewarding. Would highly recommend to all!

Honestly the room was very very small but it's okay. I took the ensuit room which means private. The mattress was was very very bad. The sheets where stiff and old, so it was not nice on the skin. I paid 5 Euros for breakfast, which was supposed to include tea or coffee. I asked for a coffee, but they only had pre-sweetened packets. I made a simple and basic request: a coffee without sugar. The manager's reaction was unbelievable. She told me that in two years, nobody had ever made this request. She refused, told me to just drink tea, and then accused me of being rude for simply asking. Instead of finding a solution—like sending an employee to a nearby shop to buy a simple jar of instant coffee—she escalated the situation by calling the owner. The owner was even worse. He was immediately aggressive and threatened me, saying I was "playing with fire." He then asked how I had booked my stay (Booking.com, etc.), which was clearly an attempt to find out if I could leave a negative review. When I told him I hadn't booked through a website, his tone changed, but he continued to be hostile. He and the manager both insisted I was being rude. The manager even mentioned that there were cameras, as if to imply I had been aggressive, which is a complete fabrication. I was calm; they were the ones who were hostile. The owner then wanted me to leave the hostel. I have never experienced such terrible, aggressive service. This wasn't a complex request. It was a cup of black coffee without sugar. To be accused, threatened, and blamed for their failure to provide the most basic item is unacceptable. This is not how you treat a paying customer.

The best hostel in the Balkans!! I was here as a guest in March and the atmosphere even then in the off season was immaculate, they make sure to take care of you and that you have a fun time even without the summer activities. I loved it so much that I came back as a volunteer for two and a half months. Hands down, the best experience of my travelling. Ridiculously amazing social environment, the fellow volunteers take care of the guests in a way I’ve never seen (hosting activities and showing the guests the best spots in their spare time). The housekeeping is kept to such a high standard as well which makes it so comfortable for the guests. I made connections to so many people and majority of them told me it was the best hostel they’ve ever been to and that it feels like home. Which is exactly what it is, a home away from home!! Milan cares so much about everyone’s experience and will never let anyone leave with a bad taste in their mouth. I couldn’t recommend this hostel more, it’s somewhere you absolutely can’t miss.

What a beautiful and scenic lake. The water here is so clear and blue, and the beautiful rocks that surround the lake are great to sit on. There was almost no shade so keep that in mind, and try not to get too close to the trees since there are a ton of mosquitoes there. Keep this in mind and you will have a great time here. Outdoor Activities
Mogren beach is a popular destination in Montenegro, located just 150 meters from the Old Town of Budva. It has been awarded the Blue Flag qualification for its high-quality water, maintenance, and service. The beach consists of two parts connected by a small promontory and offers ample sunbeds, making it suitable for families with children and couples. Additionally, there are beach cafes available for refreshments and food.
Really nice beach if you are willing to pay 20€ per person for a sunbed. If you are here in September definitely go it wasn’t too crowded and the weather and water were perfect. The view was amazing too. But I can see why going in July or August would be hell
Lenja D — Google review
The beach seemed beautiful with crystal clear waters. Unfortunately on the day we visited, it was very crowded, hardly any places to walk or sit on the beach. Would recommend going earlier in the day if you want a sunbed, even so, it would get crowded eventually, so if you don't mind that, it's still a nice pebble beach.
Merine A — Google review
3 stars reflects the complete over crowding of the beach. Yes scenery is beautiful but you can't really enjoy and relax. Worth a working visit but if you want to swim and have space there are loads of other options.
Sarah C — Google review
We went in October and had a great time!! The beach is so nice. There also weren’t to many people around. There was enough space to lay down. All the bars, stores and the toilets were closes however. But that is normal for the off season. It’s a great place to take pictures and overall enjoy the nature of Budva!!
Emilia H — Google review
We visited Mogren Beach in the middle of summer, around noon, and it was extremely crowded. We walked from Old Budva City Center all the way to Mogren 2 Restaurant along a stunning, well-paved path right on the water — the walk itself is definitely worth the trip. Once you arrive, you’ll find that the beach is mostly fine rocks and pebbles, but there are wooden pathways to make getting around easier. Loungers, chairs, and umbrellas are available for rent (€20–30 per person, depending on the row you choose). There are also lockers for valuables, plenty of restaurants, and places to grab drinks. Because it was so busy, we ended up sitting by the rocks instead of renting loungers. A big tip: bring water shoes — the rocks can be painful to walk on. The water temperature was typical for the Adriatic in summer: refreshing and perfect for cooling off. Overall, Mogren Beach is a beautiful spot with plenty of amenities, but in peak summer it can be frustrating to find space. If you don’t mind the crowds, it’s worth the visit for the views, the clear water, and the lively atmosphere.
Melanie J — Google review
The beach itself is simply wonderful, very beautiful pebbles and crystal clear water. However, about 90% of the time it’s ridiculously overcrowded and impossible to enjoy your time here, unfortunately, choosing a less crowded beach in the area would be a better option.
Google G — Google review
A charming, small beach with clear water and a gentle, gradual entry into the sea—excellent for swimming with little worry of rocks. A word of caution: the facilities looked abandoned and run-down (though this may have been because it was the off-season). Perfect for a basic swim and sunbathing, but don't count on any amenities."
Synkko — Google review
Nice spot with a beautiful view but 95% of the beach is privet so you must to pay 30/40€ for an umbrella and 5.5€ for a beer. Really crazy prices.

Budva ballerina cappuccina

Monuments & Statues
The Dancing Girl Statue in Budva is a bronze sculpture located between the old town and Mogren Beach. It's a symbol of the city, inspired by a local legend about a girl who waited for her sailor lover to return but tragically died on the same rocks where her statue now stands. Some believe it depicts a drowned girl, while others see it as an ordinary statue. The elegant pose of the topless girl has become iconic, with many visitors attempting to imitate it for photos.
The walk to Mogren Beach is incredibly romantic, with a path winding between cliffs and the sea. The monument along the way perfectly complements the experience, making it even more memorable.
Aleksandar D — Google review
We learnt about legends connected to Ballerina monument through walking tour. It is a beautiful symbol of the city, however gets crazy crowded all the time.
Sari M — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous a must visit if you are in Budva. It is so captivating and if you are lucky you can also capture the sun or the moon in the photos as well.
Edgar Z — Google review
One of the few places you can visit in Budva. Super close to Old Town and the way towards it offers great views of the see with outer Basilica walls. If you’d like some extra pictures, can go. But don’t get too upset if you didn’t get to chance to see it.
Tugce T — Google review
Beautiful little sculpture with a gread backdrop scenery of Budva old town. You can actually walk across the rocks behind railings and go up to it.
Tim H — Google review
What a sight to behold! It’s gorgeous during a clear day and magical during the sunset. You cannot miss this if you’re in Budva. Just a couple of minutes of walk from the old town towards the ‘secret Mogren beach’. You have to be patient with crowds leaning over the railings or even getting on the rocks (which is indeed risky) for pictures. Take your time and appreciate the beauty. Please do not litter.
Anna D — Google review
Was a great bronze statue, relative easy to find too and not far from the main gate of the old town of Budva. One thing that was not mention is you can only take picture of the statue from the direct front, as that would mean you would be in the sea water. Also that it can be crowded on the woodenpath as people stop by to take their photo of this statue.
Ryuu A — Google review
Beautiful Budva ballerina. it’s a local symbol with a perfect photo view of the city walls. After that you can take a bath on the beach near by, just keep walking thru the path.

Old Town Budva is a significant project that celebrates the cultural and historical heritage of the ancient city. Supported by various socially responsible companies, it aims to showcase Budva's rich past. The town has seen transitions from Venetian to Habsburg rule, flirtations with Russia and Napoleonic France, and a period as part of Yugoslavia. Despite enduring a devastating earthquake in 1979, which damaged much of the Old Town, it remains one of Montenegro's most sought-after attractions.

The Library In The Citadel

Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
The Library in the Citadel is a small but historically rich part of the Budva citadel, which has been expanded and enhanced by different ruling empires. The barracks wing, constructed by Austria-Hungary in 1836, is the largest section of the citadel. Visitors can enjoy a stunning view from the top of the citadel for a fee. Inside, there's a modest library with an assortment of books on various subjects and even some unexpected items.
Two libraries are included in the fortress tour. At the lower level, there is also an exhibition of ships, while at the top you get an amazing view. Definitely worth a visit. The entrance fee is €4.40.
El B — Google review
Absolutely not worth paying 4.5€. Nice view from the top but the library is just two small rooms with a random collection. The museum was also very underwhelming. No insights on the building history whatsoever. Only accept cash.
Ieva Č — Google review
When you buy a ticket to the citadel they say that there are two libraries, a museum, models of old ships and an observation deck. In fact, the two libraries are just shelves with books that you can't read, the ship models are a small room with different models of ships that have nothing to do with Budva, just bought at a flea market. The only thing is the observation deck, from which you can see the city. If you are ready to pay 5.5 euros for a photo, then this is for you. Otherwise, it's a scam, you pay for something that is not there. A typical scam for tourists. Those who make such "sights" should be ashamed.
Vladimir L — Google review
Save yourself the money. The “old ships museum” could have been your grandpa’s model ship hobby project. The “library” could be your grandpa’s attic.
David — Google review
Just two rooms with books and small ships.
Mariusz L — Google review
There are 2 libraries inside but you can not touch the books of course. There are illustrations of old newspapers on the walls which are interesting. The view is really worth to see but 5,5 euros too much for this attraction. Instead of paying 5,5 euros to this overrated place, sit outside of the citadel, listen to the street musicians and give them the money.
Yilmaz P — Google review
The atmosphere is quiet, and the view of the Old City from the upper floor is worth seeing. The lady at the door is polite and helpful.
Oguzhan E — Google review
Just 2 rooms with books behind glass, untouchable, unreadable. This shouldn't be called a library. €5.50 fee to enter this Citadel isn't justifiable, overpriced, and more of a tourist trap.

Becici Beach is a picturesque and spacious coastal area with crystal-clear waters and stunning panoramic views. It offers a range of dining options, including restaurants and bars that overlook the beach. Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty while savoring delicious cuisine and refreshing cocktails. The beach is also conveniently located near hotels, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing vacation by the sea.
I was staying in Budva, and took the opportunity to walk along the promenade to Becici. You actually go through a pedestrian tunnel from one resort to the other. Recommend if in Montenegro
Andrew G — Google review
Good beach with nice views. Although there are small pebbles here, it will be more comfortable in aqua shoes. One part of the beach is free, where you can come with your own towel, the second part with sunbeds and umbrellas is not free. The water here is clean and transparent, especially in the morning (7-9 am)
Аліна А — Google review
went to this beach multiple times, i recommend going in the morning or even right after sunset if you don't want big crowds because its quite busy in the day. the view is amazing though!
Monta M — Google review
Decent beach, very big, with coarse sand. Clean water, though not very clear. A few beach bars. Lots of sun loungers and also some public areas for towels. Avoid the right hand side where jet skis are as it constantly stinks of petrol.
Tim H — Google review
The beach itself is nice and the water clean but it gets crowded and parts of it are littered with trash that tourists leave there. It's also apparent that this beach is mostly meant for hotels and restaurants. It's far less pricey off season but this beach is still way too urbanized to be enjoyable.
Marco V — Google review
A beautiful small pebble beach with sandy spots just above the shoreline. Several beach bars and restaurants offer sunbeds and umbrellas, though they tend to fill up quickly after midday. The crystal-clear blue water is perfect for a refreshing swim on a hot day. We loved it so much, we came back every day during our five-day holiday. Just be aware that it can get quite crowded during peak season and on weekends.
Merine A — Google review
The beach is nice but too bad the tourists have bad manners and keep throwing they cigarettes on the sand/pebbles. Maybe with more trash bins the situation could improve but I fear it’s the lack of education that is responsible. The water is clear in the morning but in the afternoon tends to get bit dirty … again because the tourists leave the mess behind.
Iulian C — Google review
Dirty water, with plastic, feathers, leaves and other trash. Lucky I haven't found used condoms and pads free floating there. I do not know whether it is sewage discharge from the city or cruise ships. Surroundings are obviously beautiful, but place is overly crowded, beyond its limit.

Orthodox Temple of Christ's Resurrection

Sights & Landmarks
The Orthodox Temple of Christ's Resurrection in Podgorica is a modern and monumental church with intricately carved stonework and an ornate interior adorned with gilded frescoes. Constructed between 1993 and 2003, this popular landmark features glossy yet tasteful interiors, reminiscent of the cathedral in Kotor. The cathedral's vibrant frescoes depict biblical scenes as well as local historical stories, including a controversial depiction of Hell featuring political figures.
This is one of the most magnificent and peaceful places I have visited in Podgorica. The architecture of the Orthodox Temple of Christ's Resurrection is simply breathtaking. Every detail, from the marble facade to the stunning mosaics, reflects deep spiritual and cultural symbolism. At night, the temple is beautifully illuminated, creating a magical and serene atmosphere. The interior is just as impressive, with grand chandeliers, vibrant frescoes, and a profound sense of tranquility. Visitors are welcome to enter respectfully, and the ambiance encourages quiet reflection and admiration. There is ample parking space nearby, and the area feels very safe and accessible. It’s not only a place of worship but also a cultural gem worth exploring. Whether you're religious or not, this site offers an unforgettable experience in the heart of Podgorica. Highly recommended for photographers, history lovers, and travelers alike.

Grand & spectacular Orthodox church, both outside & inside. Awesome piece of architecture & art. But nobody respect the solemness of this holy place. Men & women went in with tank top & shorts, exposing their shoulders & knees. The 2 young guys working there didn’t bother at all.

For a cathedral modest in size, but magnificent on the inside and unique on the exterior. The reliefs on the outer walls are great.

This was a spectacular Church in Podgorica. The design reminds you of much older classical designs that are rarely seen constructed with this eye for history. The murals throughout the church have been painted by true artist and are an endless joy to find the stories of the bible adorned across the walls and ceilings of this beautiful Church! Consecration occurred on October 7, 2013, on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan on freedom of religion, and it was attended by the heads of the Eastern Orthodox Churches, Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Jerusalem Patriarch Theophilus III and Russian Patriarch Cyril, together with Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije and other Metropolitanate clerics. Not to be missed!!!

This is a such a peaceful, sereen church in a nice neighborhood. The parking next to it is cheap (we payed 50 cent for 45 min) we were with a large mobilehome. There a cafe with a small children playground next to it, maybe not bad if they would clean it a bit and repair the broken items.
Parisa D — Google review
This is an impressive and beautiful landmark in Podgorica. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, with intricate details and vibrant frescoes that capture your attention. The sheer size of the building and the peaceful atmosphere inside make it a wonderful place to visit, whether for worship or to appreciate the art and history. The only downside was that it can get a bit crowded with tourists at times, but overall, it’s a must-see when in Podgorica.

A Must-Visit in Podgorica! This stunning church is one of Podgorica’s top highlights. Its magnificent architecture stands out, both inside and out, with breathtaking frescoes that leave a lasting impression. Located in a peaceful area, it offers a sense of serenity and spirituality. The church is beautifully lit at night, adding to its charm. Best of all, entry is free, and there’s a souvenir shop nearby. If you’re visiting Podgorica, this is definitely a place you shouldn’t miss!

Additionally, the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ reflects Podgorica's religious and cultural revival.
The Millennium Bridge in Podgorica is a modern, elegant crossing. Great for a stroll and city views.

The Millennium Bridge is one of Podgorica’s most iconic landmarks. Its modern design is sleek and impressive, especially when lit up at night. The views from the bridge, overlooking the Morača River, are quite picturesque and make for a nice walk or photo spot. It’s a simple but striking piece of architecture that adds character to the city. The area around the bridge is well-maintained, though it can get busy with foot traffic during peak times. Overall, it’s a great spot to visit for both locals and tourists.

Probably the most famous landmark in Podgorica. Cool modern design and great views over the Morača River. It’s not a place where you spend a lot of time, but it’s nice to walk across, take a few pics, and enjoy the scenery—especially around sunset. If you’re in town, it’s worth checking out.
Haytham A — Google review
Great place to stop by if you’re walking around Podgorica. The view of the bridge is awesome—especially with the mountains in the background and the river below. There’s a little riverside café tucked under the trees that’s super chill, with outdoor seating right by the water. Nice for a drink or just to sit and enjoy the scenery. It’s quiet, not too touristy, and feels a bit hidden away. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby.

Old Ribnica River Bridge, located in Podgorica, is a historical landmark with typical Ottoman architecture. It spans the Ribnica river and is situated in the old part of the city. The bridge dates back to Roman times and was restored by the Ottomans in the 18th century. Surrounded by a beautiful park, it offers a serene environment for leisurely walks and relaxation.
The bridge itself is full of history but nothing too special. The highlight is the park surrounding it instead, it's quiet and chill, perfect for a short afternoon walk.

At the end of July, it was a rather sad experience. No water below the bridge. The bridge itself is nothing special. Two stars only because this was still the most beautiful place we could find in Podgorica. Podgorica is definitely not worth visiting.

Podgorica isn't a place for tourists. They mostly visit Kotor Bay or the coast instead of the capital. At some point I can understand why but Podgorica has something very different that is worth to explore in my opinion, even if you just spend 2 hours in this city. This bridge is such a charming calm place with a waterfall and a little gorge. I can't recommend this place enough, I liked it a lot!

Vodopad Nijagara, also known as Niagara Falls in Podgorica, is a stunning natural attraction located on the Cijevna River. Its close proximity to a vast and lush plain enhances its beauty, making it a picturesque sight for visitors. The waterfall is quite powerful, contrasting with the calm and tranquil river leading up to it. It's advisable to wear sturdy walking shoes if you plan to explore the rocky areas near the falls.
We went when it was too hot, so there was no water 'fall', but the water was beautiful. Bright blue and very clear, you could see the bottom where it was shallow. The color of the water was even better than some of the Montenegrin beaches. Lots of people were swimming in the water. There is a restaurant nearby. I loved this place.
Farsana S — Google review
Very nice waterfall unlike the restaurant next to it(minus 5⭐). You can go admire the waterfall as much as you feel like, there were moments when there were no other people, most of them take 1 or 2 photos and go. We went there on 07.11 and the stream was very powerfull. The contrast between the calm water before the fall and the force of the water after that is magical, also the color of the water is very beautiful green. If you are hoping to eat better bring your own food because the waiters are very lazy and won't come to you even if you wait 20 minutes not even to bring a menu. If you sit on table and eat your own food they will not even bother you I guess. That is the reason I am not sure if it worth it if you have to divert from your main path more than 15 minutes as there are nk hiking options or other activities.

Not much water falling down on Sunday October 19th. Still worth a quick stop if in the area. This marker leads to a rundown viewpoint of the artificial falls from above. Few parking spots along the road. If you walk a little to the left when standing on the viewpoint facing the falls, for only like 25 meters, there is a very well hidden and overgrown stairwell going down to the falls. It leads you straight to the falls to take a close by picture. No need to go to or through the restaurant. No railings, no paths, no safety measures whatsoever down there, so be cautious. Free parking, free entry.
Koen Z — Google review
What a gorgeous swimming hole and perfect place to cool down on a hot day. With the restaurant right next door for a beer, you can’t ask for much more. One tip, enter and exit from the north-east direction (if you’re on the north side of the river). If you use the road heading south-west, the potholes are awful. Also, Google’s questions don’t make much sense. There are no tickets, so you don’t need to buy them in advance. We got parking on the road above the river, but the restaurant has a parking lot too. On a hot Tuesday afternoon in mid June it wasn’t super busy. I imagine it must get packed out on the weekend.
Ruth D — Google review
This place is magnificent! The best thing about the restaurant is its extraordinary location and surroundings, for sure, but the service is also top-level, and I really loved the coffee I ordered 👌😎✨️ It was a 10-15 minute drive from Podgorica, on Sunday, and it's definitely worth visiting. It can get crowded and it often is, but yesterday it was very tranquil and mildly crowded. More people started coming around lunch time. Highly recommended! 🎉✨️👌🙏

A hidden gem just outside Podgorica! The waterfall may not be huge, but the setting is beautiful—especially in spring when the water flow is strong. we visited the place in early June, It’s a peaceful spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy the sound of the river. Super easy to reach by car, and there’s even a nice restaurant right by the falls where you can have fresh trout with a great view. All Food is halal. Special thanks to waiter Karam a very nice Turkish man who took a very good care of us. Don’t expect anything wild or touristy—just a calm, natural escape close to the city. Worth a quick stop if you're in Podgorica.

It's a beautiful local sight,a magical waterfall. The area is so beautiful around.
Viktoria O — Google review
Impressive during winter time. So much water! It is not easy to find, as there are no signs along the road and not even a proper parking lot. The best parking is at the Niagara Restaurant, which is built right next to the waterfall. The viewing platform and the stairs that lead down to the rocks have definitely seen better times. A lot of litter around. The waterfall is definitely worth a stop. Be careful, as the rocks are difficult to walk on, and the currents are strong. P.S. we went there again on 21 July 2025, and there was not one drop of water. The riverbed was completely dry. It was clearly visible that the waterfall itself is an artificial structure (by the owners of the restaurant maybe?) and not a natural wonder.

(Translated by Google) The Church of St. Petka has been known since the 13th century. The church was built in 1273 (1270?), and is mentioned in the order of King Milutin in 1306, as one of several Orthodox churches in this region. Initially, the Church of St. Petka on Spichansky Field was only Orthodox. However, after some time, another one was installed in it - a Catholic altar, and representatives of both faiths began to be buried in the graveyard. Church registers of births, weddings and deaths have been kept in this church by Catholics since 1774. In places neighboring Bar, a very unique cultural and religious phenomenon has long been formed. Many small churches had two altars. Ivan Jovović in his work “Dvooltarske crkve na Crnogorskom primorju” writes: The largest number of double-altar churches is located in Spič County. The first mention of a church with two altars is in the report of the Archbishop of Bar in 1637. The inhabitants of Spichanskaya župa, the archbishop noted, held mass in the church, or rather in the chapel of Sv. Jovana/Ivana, where there were two altars. One is used by Catholics, and the other by Orthodox believers. Services were held in a similar way in the Church of St. Tekle/Ćekle. Catholic graves were located next to Orthodox graves. Jovovich notes that the concentration of double-altar churches is typical of areas that were under Ottoman rule. Tekle/Ćekle. Могилы католиков находились рядом с православными могилами. Йовович отмечает, что концентрация двуалтарных храмов типична для районов, которые находились под управлением Османской империи.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful church from the 13th century. This is a church with two altars, for Orthodox and Catholic believers. Really beautiful nature and worth visiting. All praise for the lady who works at the church and who was really kind. Strbina Beach

$$$$affordable
Bar
The Strbina Beach bar is situated in a picturesque and enchanting cove, boasting a small yet exquisite shoreline. The pristine waters are exceptionally clear, creating an idyllic setting for visitors to unwind and indulge in the tranquility provided by the surrounding pine forest. Blending seamlessly into its natural surroundings, the beach bar pays meticulous attention to detail, even offering charging facilities for electronic devices. In addition to this, there is ample free parking available for easy accessibility.
Great place to relax. Nice beach with the possibility of renting sunbeds. Large, free parking. There is a bar with drinks and a toilet.

The location is nice and the beach is beautiful. Restaurant could be better. Pizza and sandwiches are decent. They should pay more attention to cleaning. There is trash everywhere and changing cabins are awful. "People" use them as toilets. Disgusting.

Beautiful cove and more beautiful beach. Crystal clear water. Quiet and clean beach surrounded by pine forest. Beach bar is well embedded in the natural ambience. They really took care of every detail, even charging station for notebooks and phones. Very big free parking.

Nice beach bar with a view, service is slow but polite. Beach is rocky and has a shadow part

awful experience- not recommended the place is beautiful but the owner managing the beach facilities proved to be very unprofessional and especially racist with foreigners. we arrived around 10.30, choose a sun ombrella and beds in the cliff, the last one of the first row, on the corner where in front there was a path to enter the sea from the cliff. after sometime two local young ladies acting as queen (category d), installed next to us and immediately moved the beds in order to block the path, they didn’t want kids (not just ours) walking in front of them. we kindly asked them to move their sun-beds back where they were and leave space to walk on the path, they refused. it’s ok world is full of not polite and not respectful people, i call the guy from the beach to whom we paid for our umbrella to explain the situation to the ladies, he does it, they still refuse to move and guess what?the guy returns us the money saying he cannot oblige clients to be respectful, we leave, and 2 minutes after, the bossy un respectful ladies moved to our place, which is clearly what they wanted. if we were montenegrini for sure the owner would have treated us differently. Very very disappointing and terrible experience, a pity considering the beauty of the place.

Amazing beach with plenty of free parking, not sure about food as we didn't order but toilets are clean and free to use even if you don't order food. Snorkeling was wonderful with lots of fish 😁

This goes for all the places around: WAKE UP, it’s 2025 already. CARD PAYMENT!!!! There is no card payment option in most of the places around the beach. I know it about taxation and things like that, but what happens if I run out of cash on a secluded beach? Or should I go carrying around hundreds of euro in small bills just for your convenience? I think I’m still the tourist here who needs top notch services! The location is just on third of the satisfaction. It can be still ruined by things like this.

Easy access from free parking. Quiet and clean, rocky beach. Water was the coolest so far, but the sunshine made up for it. Great to avoid crowd. Green beach is only minutes away too.

Sutomore Beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Sutomore Beach, nestled in the charming Staro Sutomore area, is a lively destination that offers a delightful mix of sandy and gravelly shores. Surrounded by picturesque hills and apartment blocks, this beach is perfect for sun-seekers looking to relax on loungers or engage in various water sports available for rent. While the beach can get quite busy with visitors enjoying its warm waters during the day, it transforms into a vibrant hub at night with numerous cafes and restaurants lining the waterfront.
You may se many negative reviews, but that’s because those people but that’s because those people went to the Beach around June, July, which is the worst time you could go to the beach, too much traffic, overcrowded beaches, and cold water, I suggest going at least in August but mostly September, at that period the water is very clean, and very warm, not many people besides in the afternoon, hardly any traffic at all. Asides from that the restaurants that are behind the beach are very good, they have good coffee, amazing food, and there’s even places where you can get some great ice cream, some souvenirs to get magnets or shirts, even a shop where you can print your own custom shirts and a bit more. Sutomore is probably the most famous and best beach in Montenegro. I’d even love to live there.

Very disappointing vacation in Montenegro. The free beach in Sutomore is overcrowded with people, many of whom smoke. And their cigarette butts immediately leave in the sand. For a person who cannot stand the smell of cigarettes, there is simply nowhere to hide, as everyone smokes: women, men, young and old. The sea is deep and everyone has to crowd on the narrow line where they can stand. Paid beaches cost 15-20 euros for two sunbeds and an umbrella. For a person who stays on the beach 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening - this is an unreasonable waste of money. On the free beach, the people lie side by side. All the paths leading to the beach are strewn with mountains of garbage.

Nice place where you can spend a lot of time and enjoy a lot or fun

Easy to get to by train from Podgorica. But not very inspiring. Full of beach umbrellas (paid) and not much actual beach. Water depth increases rapidly so unless you are confident swimmer you are stuck within a few metres of shore.

Came out of season (late October). Everything had shut down which had the positive of it being empty and we had the place to ourselves. One or two cafes still open. It’s 22 degrees today even over cast which makes it very easy to chill with the kids. The sand is super clean and the water too. It’s very simple which is Montenegro 🇲🇪 in a nutshell and you couldn’t ask for more.

A beautiful beach in a beautiful setting. Very popular in Montenegro. What's annoying is the trash everywhere. Trash along the streets. Cigarette butts on the beach. But the most annoying thing of all are the cars. Every conceivable space is taken up by cars. Cars and motorcycles even drive along the beach promenade. If you stroll along there, you'll get honked at!

It can be better. there are restaurants, cafes and shops.but you look at the cars go by when you swimming.watter is good some time little dirty.

Old Town of Bar

Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
Old Town Bar is a serene and picturesque destination, perfect for leisurely strolls. The unique mountain formations resembling triangular sandwiches add to its allure. Visiting in early November offers a tranquil experience with fewer crowds, making it convenient for capturing memorable moments. The town features a small museum showcasing historical finds and old utensils, adding to its charm as one of the most beautiful old towns in Montenegro. Visitors can also enjoy relaxing on numerous benches scattered throughout the area.
Absolutely awesome old town. €5 to enter, cad payment available. Lovely cafes and restaurants surrounding before and after you enter also. Very cool place, exceeded my expectations:)

Beautiful and charming little town, set on a hill, with a fortress at the top. Very touristic and busy, but definitely worth a visit. Lots of lovely little shops, cafes and restaurants. Very scenic and fun.

Well worth visiting. One can see old town Bar life through the history going way back to BC ages. There are also museums with interesting exhibits and artefacts to see collected on the archaeological sites around. Locations of interest are well marked with plaques with historical texts placed for tourists to get the grasp of the importance of certain buildings within the old town. Overall recommended for a visit.

Really beautiful and interesting stroll around the old town of bar, it was quiet and had information plaques throughout. Would recommend it. The restaurant and shopping area right outside the walls was lovely too. Well worth a visit.

Very nice instagrammable ruins, quite big area. 5€ adult ticket. Parking available, either paid and free(a few spots) . Much open space, be aware about sun in summer.

Visiting the Old Town of Bar was like stepping into a forgotten chapter of history. Nestled at the foot of Mount Rumija, this ancient fortress town offers sweeping views, crumbling stone walls, and a palpable sense of mystery. The €5 entrance fee is well worth it—inside, you’ll find winding paths, remnants of churches and towers, and quiet corners perfect for reflection or photos. I especially loved how nature has reclaimed parts of the ruins, with fig trees and wild herbs growing between the stones. It’s peaceful, atmospheric, and surprisingly expansive. There are also charming cafés just outside the entrance where you can sip a cold drink and soak in the view. Whether you're a history buff, a photographer, or just someone who enjoys wandering through beautiful ruins, Stari Bar is a must-see. Just wear good shoes and bring water—there’s a lot to explore!

The old town is easy to get lost in. That's the beauty of it. It can get quite busy, beware when there are cruise ships in the bay as then it gets crowded. Early in the morning is best as the it is not too hot.

Old town of Bar was our first stop of the two day trip from Albania to Montenegro. It was quite early in the morning and the businesses were just opening up. We didn't do much apart from a short visit of the main streets and greet a few albanian habitants. Would love to go back and explore some more about the history, the traditions of the people there. There was also this special dog that greeted us at the entrance of the visit and accompanied us all the way till the end. It made everything even more memorable 😊
