Castle of Bruchsal

Cultural landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Ornate 18th-century Baroque palace, with lavish stucco & trompe l'oeil, & famous winding staircase.
Bruchsal Palace is a former residence of the Prince-Bishops of Speyer in the Baden-Württemberg city of Bruchsal . The baroque three-winged complex was built from 1722 onwards on behalf of Damian Hugo von Schönborn according to designs by Maximilian von Welsch and Balthasar Neumann. I like the "halls" a lot of Castle of Bruchsal, upon you walked into the castle, the lobby gives an impact as a mansion should be, and when you walk up to 2nd story, the central hall not just gives you the 360 view to the surrounding environment, also it's magnificent in the way it's a residential castle.
Bill L — Google review
We can say that the place was rebuilt and took its current shape because it received a lot of damage in the Second World War. Rather than being historical, it has many places that are still actively used. In the central location of the district, one-way traffic is provided around it. We would also like you to visit the rose and tulip gardens.
Hetz N — Google review
A wonderful castle, extremely beautifully painted, has a huge collection of musical instruments, music boxes.
Gergana V — Google review
Would be good if the guides actually knew some English ... the attitude needs work as well. Luckily, the architecture makes everything better

A nice short trip. You can walk around it and see all the surrounding buildings. There is also a small Cafe Bar on the premises. Take your time a make a visit. After a year, we visited again with our dog. A very nice place to come with your dog. The Park is big enough for all of the visitors. Come and enjoy a warm day.
Bogdan B — Google review
One of the Castles in Germany. Nice landscaped park, entrance fee to inside the castle. But most of all I was impressed by the museum of musicalautomates. It is definitely worth seeing for everyone.
Maryna M — Google review
Oh wow. Totally worth the trip. Be sure to pay to get the audio tour. Amazing how much work has gone into restoring this palace. Also check out the music museum to see all the old automated musical instruments. Great, great 1/2 day adventure

Visitors can enjoy the park's attractions while sitting at the cafes and bars around Friedrichsplatz. The park offers leisure activities for families and children, including an amusement park, green spaces for relaxation, flower gardens, a picturesque lake, and various sculptures.
Visited when in Mannheim for a single day. Well worth a visit, exceptionally well maintained and a real highlight of the city. It has an aquarium, aviary, greenhouse, farm area and multiple play areas. Fantastic value and biodiversity.
Daniel O — Google review
An absolutely beautiful park. The entrance fee is around 10€, and it’s worth every cent. Inside, you’ll find a well-maintained botanical garden, a few animals like owls, penguins, and alpacas, and several cafés, restaurants, and clean restrooms. One of the highlights is lying on a comfortable sunbed with a tilting backrest under the trees, feeling the breeze — a peaceful happiness that’s hard to describe. (You might even hear an alpaca call in the distance!) You can also take a boat ride through the scenic canals. Overall, a perfectly managed and designed park — even a quiet stroll alone is worth the price of admission.
Jang K — Google review
Very nice recreation park in the Middle of Mannheim. Entry fee is around 10 Euro. You can also purchase a ticket for the whole year. Many restaurants, playgrounds, nice areas to chill and enjoy the silence.
Markus W — Google review
Nice park, heaven for kids! This park is really large, it does have spots for picnic, Chinese style houses(turned into restaurants), big playgrounds, penguins 🐧, snakes, butterflies 🦋 and beautiful flowers ! Tickets costs : 12.50euro
Lokesh M — Google review
If you want to enjoy this park, it's better to come as early as possible to be able to explore all the attractions. There's so much to see. It is family and kids friendly with many innovative and exploratory playgrounds for the kids. We would definitely go back, when the weather starts to cool down.
Doyin C — Google review
Great city centre park with beautiful gardens birds and cafe/restaurant. Very relaxing place to spend a sunny morning.
Gareth O — Google review
Luisenpark is truly one of the best destinations in Mannheim, perfect for all ages but especially for families with children. The park is full of fun and variety: • There are many playgrounds, including a fantastic water playground that kids absolutely love on warm days. • One of the highlights is watching the penguins – you can even see them swimming up close through special underwater windows, which is magical for children and adults alike. • A must-visit inside the park is the Unterwasserwelt (Underwater World), where you can discover a wide range of fascinating fish species.
Aida M — Google review
It's really a huge park with underwater world, penguins, some plants, Chinese cafe also inside is really good, some cafes. Really nice with family esp with kids. There are also some animals like alpaca, butterflies, different birds, etc. There's an entrance fee, I think was around 6 Euro each for adult.

Sights & Landmarks
The Karlsruhe Palace is an 18th century Baroque palace located in the center of circular grounds and houses a cultural history museum. The exhibitions are well-organized and the staff is friendly. The multilevel floors showcase a vast amount of history, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. Paid parking is available under the castle, with a quick walk to the palace where visitors can enjoy its beautiful exterior before entering.
An interesting place from the ancient to modern times, the museum is rich in exhibits. We were on Easter early morning and it was not crowded, spacious rooms. For the little guests there is a room to have a rest, read the books and play. Also, there is a tower where you can go up and enjoy a beautiful view. The museum is definitely worth visiting.
Yu K — Google review
Amazing! I absolutely loved this palace, it has a very beautiful architecture and is very beautiful. It has a beautiful museum that can be visited for free and also a very beautiful tower where the entry is only 4€, where you can go and have a very beautiful panoramic view over Karlsruhe. It is deffinetly a must-visit, if you visit the city of Karlsruhe!
Codrin G — Google review
Since palace’s interior museum was under renovation I have only strolled around it and checked out the park surrounding palace. Great landscaping and architecture, palace looks grand even on cloudy overcast day. The palace and city got under construction at the same time on 1715. Palace was built in French Baroque style by architect Jacob von Batzendorf for Karl Wilhelm, ruler of Baden-Durlach and founder of Karlsruhe in 1718.
Mike Z — Google review
We visited on Sunday. It was crowded, but since there are plenty of areas to explore, it didn’t feel overwhelming. The venue is designed across three floors with five different rooms, offering spacious areas for visitors. The entrance fee is €8 per person for the museum only, or €12 for the museum and turm(visit point). We opted for the museum + turm package and highly recommend it. The view was beautiful from turm.
Hasan S — Google review
Excellent place and view. A lot of locals excercising, playing and chatting, tourists taking photos. Many people are around . Parking is safe and lots of parking slots. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the heart of Karlsruhe, the Zoological Gardens Karlsruhe, also known as Zoologischer Stadtgarten, offers a delightful blend of nature and wildlife. This enchanting destination features lush park landscapes adorned with vibrant flower beds, serene boating lakes, and sprawling green spaces that create a tranquil oasis for visitors. As you stroll through this urban paradise—just a short ten-minute walk from the city center—you'll encounter an array of fascinating animals including polar bears, seals, sea lions, and elephants.
The most positive impressions. I really liked that there was an opportunity to see some monkeys very close and it really impressed me. I can also say that there are many benches where you can sit, which is a plus. All the plants are very well-groomed. All the animals also look very beautiful and are well looked after.
Di — Google review
We visited the zoo on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded. The nature is beautiful, lots of plants and flowers, especially now in spring when the flowers are blooming. Perfect fun for children, lots of animal species, well-maintained play parks for children. The zoo is really big and you need a whole day if you want to visit everything, so it's great for a full-day trip with the family. We really liked it and will definitely come again. We loved the Gondola ride on the lake. We had a really nice experience and memories. Admission for children under 6 is free, a day ticket for adults costs €15 if you buy it at the box office. It's cheaper if you buy the ticket online because then you pay €14.
Laelly — Google review
Located right in front of the main train station, this is a relatively small zoo that packs a big punch. Sure, there aren't lions or tigers, but the polar bears, elephants, hippos, chimps and many other charismatic animals make up for it tenfold. And while some of the exhibits could be on the older side, there are brilliant modern facilities, like the wonderful tropical house, that make a big difference!
Alan D — Google review
Staff were friendly and nice. Beautiful gardens and promenades. Nice displays of flowers. Amazing birds and animal varieties. The full leaning seats were so ergonomic and comfortable! The view from the hill is fantastic and you’re able to see in all directions for miles. Tranquil areas that were peaceful as well as like paintings with the fall colours. Disappointed that the polar bears were not out and wonder if there are any. The water for the bears wasn’t clear or clean. Lots of trash in it lead us to believe there may not be any bear or bears. One of the nicest and best zoos I have been to. Thank you from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Mary-Lynne S — Google review
A great zoo, with lots of animals – elephants, giraffes, parrots, seals, owls, penguins... Also a central location, easy to reach after getting off the train. Quite a good place to have a stroll with your friends. Be aware of the weather because in good weather you can see more animals.
Kürşat K — Google review
It's ok, nothing more, nothing less. Sure, it's nice with kids, but the enclosures are way too small. The polar bear has no ice, the cheetahs no privacy, but they do have room for countless food stalls and giant grass fields. The enclosures are way too small. We shouldn't be funding this.
Berend — Google review
An unforgettable family-friendly experience!" Karlsruhe Zoo is one of the best places to spend a day for both adults and children. From the moment you enter, there’s so much to see and do. One of the absolute highlights is the polar bears — they are active, playful, and their spacious enclosure makes it fascinating to watch their behavior up close. It’s truly a sight that stays with you long after your visit. Another standout feature is the rose garden. Walking through the beautifully maintained gardens is a peaceful and colorful experience, perfect for taking photos or just enjoying a quiet moment surrounded by flowers. It adds a lovely contrast to the excitement of the animal exhibits. For families with young children, the petting area is fantastic. Kids get the chance to interact safely with friendly animals, which is always a big hit. The children’s play area is equally impressive — spacious, well-designed, and full of activities that keep children entertained while parents can relax nearby. The zoo itself is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Informative signs and thoughtfully designed enclosures make it both educational and fun. Whether you’re coming to admire the animals, enjoy the gardens, or let the kids run around and play, Karlsruhe Zoo offers a complete and memorable experience. I highly recommend it for a family outing or a day spent exploring nature and wildlife.
Sumit P — Google review
Visited the Karlsruhe zoo with friends and their kids which was an amazing find. The place is very nice, interesting, well maintained with lots of activities for kids of every age as well as adults. The exibits are well curated and the animals seem to be very well taken cared for. The ticket is 15€ per person which may sound a bit pricey but you have a tons of things to do. Overall this was a great find that I highly suggest to everyone, especially parents. If you don’t know what to do about your kid and feel a bit drained, take them to the zoo to roam around!

Wasserturm Mannheim

Mentioned on
3 lists
Sights & Landmarks
Cultural landmark
Wasserturm Mannheim is a sandstone water tower and historic landmark adorned with sculptures, dating back to 1889. Located in a city square, it offers numerous options for dining out and features a beautifully maintained park ideal for picnics and walks during warm weather when the water flows. However, it is currently undergoing refurbishment work which may detract from its appeal. In winter months, the trees and flowers lose their vitality.
"Wasserturm" literally means "Water Tower"—and indeed, this was once the central facility that supplied water to the city of Mannheim. Today, it no longer performs its original function. Instead, the people of Mannheim have entrusted it with a new mission: to anchor a beautiful park and a dancing fountain at the heart of the city. The park surrounding the tower is impeccably maintained. Even with many visitors, it offers a surprising sense of privacy and peace. The water is astonishingly clear—so clean that it seems to carry the scent of fresh drinking water—and the mingling of this with the green scent of the grass creates a unique and calming harmony. On a sunny day, walking up toward the tower and looking out toward the perfectly symmetrical shopping avenues is immensely satisfying. This level of urban planning seems to radiate quiet order, bringing a kind of peace to the mind. Along with Luisenpark, this is one of the most essential stops for any visitor to Mannheim. And yet, as beautiful as it is, there are signs that some of the nearby shops stand empty. I sincerely hope that this peaceful and elegant city will once again enjoy the prosperity it deserves.
Jang K — Google review
It was quite a nice spot, couldn't enter the tower at this time (7 april). But the garden was nice, unfortunately the fountains were drained so I didn't get to enjoy those. Definitely recommend stopping by and have a nice sit or little walk.
Nando B — Google review
Nice spot to relax and spend some time. Entry into the tower is not allowed, but you can sit here and enjoy watching the water flow.
Amit D — Google review
It's a shame the tower is so seldom open to the public, but the view from the steps and terrace with the fountains and colourful, immaculately-maintained flower beds is definitely worth a visit.
David W — Google review
It's worse it to visit this place. A great overview over this place with a waterfall and a nice fountain. From here you just cross the main road to join the impressive shopping streets with Kunststraße, Planken and Fressgasse with international Restaurants.

It was a fantastic visit for me and my som. There is a big variety of vehicles from historical to date including prototypes. Additionally there is a space part that can be visited to see demos of spacecrafts. Airplanes were also amazing. I think at least 3 hours is needed to see all the rooms. One can also have an experience how to work of engines. There are parts for children to enjoy.
Gokhan Y — Google review
Incredible experience! It went way beyond my expectations. I didn’t think there would be this much to see. My main reason for going was the Buran and Apollo exhibits, but I ended up really enjoying the other sections too. There are dozens of cars, motorcycles, and airplanes on display. You also get to see flown items from Apollo, Gemini, Shuttle, and ISS missions. Capsule parachutes, Shuttle parts, astronaut gear, and even a Moon rock from Apollo 15… Such an amazing collection. The Lunar Module looks almost exactly like the real thing, and the lunar suits are just as impressive. Absolutely a must-visit!

Amazing display of land, water, air and space vehicles. I did not expect the huge collection of well-displayed artifacts that allowed up cloce inspection. The Lufthansa 747 is mounted high in the air, can be seen from a distance, and still allows interior visits. Worth a special trip.

It may take more than a day or two to see all this museum has to offer. The wing walk is a must, dont forget to grab your carpet to slide down afterwards.

The museum is known for its well-curated shows on topics relevant in today's society. One section of the museum called BioMedien focuses on connecting biology with artificial intelligence in unique ways. Visitors describe their experience as fascinating and mind-blowing.
A must visit for digital media enthusiasts! I really like their game exhibition. Not only fun but also informative/educational. Here they provide the accessibility options on almost every game stations. Storage is big enough to store large backpacks. The museum store sells interesting stuff as well.
Saktirys — Google review
The museum itself is very interesting and worth a visit. The exhibitions are engaging and definitely recommend!! but the ticket counter experience felt like stepping into absurdity. When we asked if there were any special exhibitions, the lady replied with a patronizing: “Of course, this is a museum.” She also assured us that one ticket covered everything… until we crossed into another section and were told to pay again. The highlight? Asking if there was a section for local artists. She looked at us as if we’d just asked for UFOs and lost her mind: “There are no local artists here.” Well, in a city of 300K+ people, I’d bet otherwise. Karlsruhe, keep nurturing your own artists. we’d love to see their work shine!
Olivia C — Google review
We loved every second here and spent 3.5 hours walking the museum. A very kind docent named Emily spoke English with us and was very knowledgeable about the art in the room! We loved the interactive exhibits and that they had English placards beneath them as well. What a magical museum to bring a child! Those, too, who are children at heart!
Elise M — Google review
A bit disapppinting. Lichthof 1 and 2 appear to be in redecoration or setting up of New exhibitions. Lichthof 8 and 9 were better and interesting, but there was a lot of reading involved. The setting is spectacular. It has been almost 20 years since I last visited and the contents have changed considerably. I will be back, however, at some point.
Jörg K — Google review
Visited the wonderful art gallery consisting of paintings dating back to the 10th-11th century. There is a very interesting modern art exhibition as well along with other seasonal exhibitions.

Surprisingly engaging and interesting display of media, artifacts and traditional artwork. My expectations were mixed but the displays exceeded them more than I can describe. I highly recommend the ZKM Media Centre for a well-spent afternoon.

The Heinz Mack exhibition was amazing! $6 euro ticket for students - takes about an hour and half to experience it. But the museum it’s self is huge

The Merkur Funicular Railway is a popular attraction near Baden-Baden, Germany. It is the longest funicular railway in the country and takes visitors to the summit of Merkur Mountain, which stands at 668 meters high. At the top, there are hiking paths, a restaurant with local dishes, paragliding opportunities, and a 23-meter elevator that provides stunning views from Merkur Tower. A wonderful funicular at the edge of town. Well worth finding. €14 for a return trip for two adults was very good value compared to other funicular railways we have been on.

A nice funicular (railway cable-car) leading to a lovely mountain top with amazing view and nice spots for a picnic. Theres ride takes a few minutes. The tower at the top offers stairs or an elevator (however even with an elevator there are a few steps to climb). There’s also a restaurant there.

An absolute must. We walked from central Baden Baden to the station which was initially very steep. It then levels out. (Regular buses & lots of car parking). The view and walking trails are great. The cafe is reasonably priced. Naturally we scoffed a Black forest gateau which was excellent.

The ride was easy, very little waiting time. The views from the top of vernicular railway were fantastic with cool breeze, sun and good clarity." I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles" came into my head! Can be fresh up there so wear appropriate clothes. Tried to cycle up to the begin point of railway but spent most of time walking with bikes so be warned!! It's steep!
Stephen A — Google review
Great way to experience the mountains of Baden-Baden. The day we went here, it was raining. So, the funicular saved our day. The ride to the top is fairly quick. Once you get to the top, the view from there is mind blowing. There's also a tower built there, which gives access to go further high up and the view keeps getting better. A must visit if you are in the area.

Museum Frieder Burda, located in the Lichtentaler Allee Park, is a modern art museum designed by architect Richard Meier. The museum's collection of about 1,000 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper focuses on Classical Modernism and contemporary art. It was established in 1998 to preserve and make accessible the personal collection of Frieder Burda.
I got to witness the Yoshitomo Nara exhibition in first person. It was a magnificent experience. I really liked the art's arrangements within the gallery and there was a lot of space to just be and take in the art. Also there was music playing, matching the artist's inspiration, and that was really great along the side. The staff was also really nice, I don't usually talk much to personnel, but here I felt very welcome. Will be back very, very soon.

Went for the Yoshitomo Nara exhibition. A very nice building and great space right in the middle of town. The shop wasn’t great though, they should definitely needs to drop all the interior decoration crap.

Great exhibition of German Impressionism with Liebermann in main focus. We enjoyed it very much, even though usually we are drawn more to abstract, surrealist and post-impressionistic pieces
Greg L — Google review
The museum is immersed in nature and it has been an amazing setting to discover the work of Nicolas Party, which is pretty much rooted in nature. The synergy with his natural landscapes and the contrast with the apocalypse and the decay of things that is a focal point of the artist has been quite magnificent. I did feel that the exhibition is rather small and restricted for the price of the ticket - although admittedly Nicolas Party created a lot of murals specifically for this museum, and I didn’t love the museum shop. I wish there were items on sale that matched the exhibition and the modern spirit of it, there were classic things on sale that you could find in any store out of this museum. I didn’t have coins with me and I couldn’t leave my jacket in the garderobe for 1 euro. I wish in the future this kind of details will be modernized. All in all a pleasant Sunday experience and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance.

The Pousette exhibition didn’t resonate with me. Feels like a market driven exhibition. The museum building’s design appears to be aging quickly and does not embody a timeless character.

Great contemporary art museum. At the time of my visit you could reserve a spot to be taken a portait by a robot arm. There were also audioguides available for 5 eur. There is not much information, and we did not take them but they could be worth it. We went with the Museumspass.

Nice looking museum in beautiful town of Baden-baden. Was nice to have visited, but the work they had on display at that moment wasn’t as cheerful and easy to appreciate as some of the more pop art like work you see on the Google review photos. Still had a nice time there.

The Baden-Baden Casino is a historic gambling establishment located in a neoclassical building adorned with ornate gilded walls, red carpet, and crystal chandeliers. Frequented by the rich and famous, it has been a source of inspiration for writers and artists throughout history. The casino offers various games such as blackjack, roulette, and slots in an elegant belle époque hall. Visitors can also enjoy dining at The Grill restaurant before trying their luck at the poker and roulette tables.
Beautiful casino. We had such a good time playing roulette. There is a dress code to enter so be sure to check the website for the rules. The dealers and other employees were quite friendly and made for an enjoyable experience. It is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom as well.

Did the guided tour for 10€ less 1€ discount from our hotel. It really is worth doing. The casino is absolutely stunning with a fascinating history. The tour takes 40 minutes and you are allowed to take photos. A nice interlude on a cold day.

NOT GOING BACK. SERVICE NOT SO GOOD, ONLY 1-2 Tables (Roulette & something else). Didn’t see BlackJack and above all, no one there to provide any material gestures of guidance or hospitality. Actually saw the 2 tables at about 3-4PM, and was totally unimpressed. Baden-Baden yes, Casino pass it. The architecture is fantastic, and the inside quite clean. The coat-check lady was nice; but the Admissions lady was definitely not nice. I was well-dressed in a black-leather jacket, tux-white shirt and a gold-laced bow tie. The B forced me to drop €10-20 on an unnecessary jacket rental; and was a snot about it. Reminded me of my first encounters in East Germany when The Wall was coming down. They thought of everything, but the people and what they might need. Walking away, I saw the Illuminati of the Casio Bar. What could go wrong here? They had everything, but a bartender; because the 3 or 4 of them were kind of in the back corner talking. No attention whatsoever to customers. As an afterthought, a bartender appeared. WOW. For the $$$$ they were charging I worried about buying dinner. Service = 5/10. Real nice place if you want to hold your mouth open, but if you came to play Blackjack or another game—you’d have more fun by a long shot at the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Cafe (at half the cost). Not so cool. They have a lot to learn about taking care of the client. When I turned in my Jacket, Ms. N. Admissions was supervising the coat check lady with a specious, down-the-nose look. Really Surprised as was my darling. The surrounding promenade OUTSIDE OF THE CASINO was filled with Baden-Baden interest, history, and adventure.
Adam J — Google review
The Baden-Baden casino is truly stunning: an elegant, refined place full of history, definitely worth a visit. However, what a strange idea to force men to wear a jacket in the middle of summer, with the heat unbearable and the air conditioning not really up to the task. In the end, you end up sweating more than betting… A shame that such an outdated rule slightly spoils the experience in such a prestigious venue!

The Worms Cathedral, known as Dom St. Peter, stands out as a remarkable example of early Gothic architecture in Germany. With its four distinctive round towers and an opulent Baroque interior, this cathedral is not only a feast for the eyes but also steeped in history, particularly linked to Martin Luther. Visitors are often captivated by the intricate details found throughout the structure and its surroundings.
What a glorious cathedral, majestic from the outside and so beautiful inside. One can wonder over the stone carvings, individual niche chapels, the main altar and much more. A true place to reflects one self.

Huge internal space like hangars for Zeppelins. View inside with shadows and sunbeams looks like from Angels and Desmond , da Vinci code or Diablo game. Large and Colourful window racks make it even more hypnotic. Description in German and English language. Is bit visible how was it he cathedral constructed, modified during centuries, Something looks older, something new. But look’s better than in Regensburg or Heidelberg. Parking for cars and bikes is outside, you can have probably some paid guide, old Jews cemetery near.

I was so excited to explore and just be I. The same city as this church. The architecture and history here is just stunning. Every area is very detailed and since being built around 1120 it has been maintained and kept in impeccable shape. I would suggest seeing this church. And don’t forget to check out the street filled with monuments and statues of some of the most important figures of the cathedrals/cities history.

A great experience to be able to inhale “salty” or “sea like” breeze that is produced off of the grassy twigs where the water trickles down from. The current entrance fee is €1,50 for adults. It is easily accessible. There is also a small elevator inside so that those who have walkers/strollers could easily access the second floor without any problems. There is plenty of free parking nearby. We visited during the week, so it was absolutely a wonderful walk without having to fight through the crowds.

Small, family-friendly zoo & center for the preservation of the Philippine Spotted Deer.
I visited the Landau Zoo and had an amazing experience! Despite its smaller size, the zoo is home to a wide variety of animals and has large, beautiful enclosures. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even better. It's definitely worth the trip—5 out of 5 stars!

I had fun here :) it’s not very big so 2 hours or so would be enough for adults. I saw some animals I’ve never seen before. It was a very educational experience. And it is definitely kids friendly!

Nice place to bring the children. This place has a plethora of exotic wildlife to experience upclose. You can notice the staff here intensively maintaining the area and caring for the animals. I utilized Google Maps and searched this place while getting glass repair done in the area. It was well worth the visit highly recommended.
KEITH D — Google review
We visited the zoo today and found ample parking in front of the zoo. My son and I had a great time seeing the animals and only a few exhibits were empty, which may have been due to the cooler temperatures. All of the animals looked well taken care of and all of the enclosures were clean. My son loved all of the goats that he could pet. I highly recommend this zoo to anyone in the area.
Justin O — Google review
Get ready for a wild ride at this mini-zoo! It may be small, but it packs a punch when it comes to well-kept animals and healthy-looking creatures. The staff takes great care of the animals, and the zoo is spotless clean. But the real highlight of this zoo is the downtown area where you can grab a bite to eat after your visit to the zoo. It's like a safari adventure, but instead of lions and giraffes, you'll find delicious sandwiches and ice cream cones. Overall, it's a great little zoo that's perfect for a quick stop, but don't expect to spend the whole day there. With that being said, I highly recommend it!

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled atop a majestic sandstone bluff, Trifels Castle is an 11th-century marvel that offers visitors not only a glimpse into history but also breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and towns. Located near Annweiler, this striking red sandstone fortress features a permanent exhibition of reproduction crown jewels, making it a fascinating stop for history enthusiasts. The journey to the castle is invigorating, with trails that weave through lush forests and provide an opportunity for outdoor adventure.
We parked at “ Wanderers Parkplatz”(Hiker’s parking) and then walked through the woods to get to the Castel. It was about 40 minutes walk approximately uphill and a bit shorter downhill. The walk through the woods was very wide and easy to walk on. So if you get into the narrow path then you are likely to be on the wrong way. We also found that Google map works better than Apple Map on this path if you’re using the navigation. The entrance fee for the castle is 6 euros for the adult, there’s family ticket available too. The view from the castle is amazing and breathtaking, so all in all it was a very nice Sunday afternoon activity. I would highly recommend it!
J. — Google review
A beautifully preserved medieval castle nestled in the Palatinate Forest, offering stunning panoramic views and a strong sense of historical significance. Best known for once holding Richard the Lionheart as a prisoner, the site carries a rich past that’s well-presented through exhibits and reconstructed elements that give visitors a glimpse into its imperial legacy. It’s a bit of a hike to reach the castle from the parking area, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a moderately steep but scenic walk through the forest. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, especially on clear days. Inside, you’ll find displays of imperial regalia replicas and information about the castle’s history. It’s not a large site, but it’s well worth the visit for history lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. Be sure to check the seasonal opening hours as they vary, and keep in mind that much of the experience involves walking stairs and uneven terrain, so it may not be ideal for those with mobility concerns. Also, there’s no café at the castle itself, but you can find several local eateries in nearby Annweiler and a vending machine at the castle itself. Souvenirs available at the vending machine, or at the shop near the parking with post cards, magnets, and more. Parking in the castle base is about 2 euros, and you must display the ticket on your car’s dashboard. A visit to Burg Trifels pairs well with a longer day trip exploring the region’s hiking trails or other nearby castle ruins.
R — Google review
If you’re in the area, you shouldn’t miss Trifels Castle. It’s a worthwhile excursion. From the parking lot, you can reach the castle via a well-maintained forest path. The short walk is unavoidable, as you can’t park directly at the castle. However, on the way up you’re rewarded with views of impressive rock formations and the valley. Once at the top, admission is 6,- €, but they are definitely worth it. The castle is well preserved, very informatively signposted, and it’s genuinely fun to explore the various rooms. We were particularly impressed by the historic throne room (where visitors can even sit on the throne) and by the chamber, whose walls display countless names and initials carved by visitors over many different eras—apparently, vandalism is nothing new. After visiting the castle, you can round off your visit at the restaurant (with a beer garden), located next to the parking area. Enjoying coffee and cake or a hearty meal, depending on your preference. The view of the castle from the restaurant provides a perfect finish to the visit.
Stormborn — Google review
Visited on a Sunday in early July. Plenty of parking (€1 50 for the day) in the restaurant car park. Wear trainers. About a 15 minute walk uphill (suitable for strollers but not wheelchairs). Cost €4.50 per adult to enter (there are family tickets available). Allow about 90 minutes to walk around all of it (lots of stairs) and take the odd photo. Most information boards had English and French as German on them.
Paul B — Google review
It’s about 2 miles, approximately an hour, walk from town, but the trail is windy through the woods and not signed as well as it should be. Just keep walking up. There are a few ways up there. Once there, it’s in magnificent condition and the view is fantastic.
Nick E — Google review
Beautiful castle with amasing view, to get there you have to walk like 10min, but it was worth it for sure. I enjoyed the view and it was amasing. The price to visit the castle was auch OK. There is not a lot of things to see in the castle but still cute

Maginot Line Fort Schoenenbourg

Sights & Landmarks

Fortification built in the 1930s as part of the Maginot Line defenses, with guided tours for groups.
Definitely a must visit. Very cool down there so bring a jacket and be prepared to walk a lot since its very big. The museum is without a guide, you have to follow the arrows 1 to 10 and it takes about 2 hours but its definitely worth it to see everything and take your time.
Vincent — Google review
Fort Schoenenbourg is the largest and best-preserved part of the Maginot Line in Alsace. You can walk through several kilometers of underground tunnels, artillery blocks, and soldier living quarters, all still in excellent condition. The fort actually saw combat during WWII, and the traces of bombardments remain visible, giving the visit a very authentic feel. With guided tours, exhibitions, and restored equipment, it offers a unique chance to understand both the engineering and the daily life inside these fortifications. A must-see destination for history lovers and curious travelers alike
Óliver J — Google review
A truly massive underground fortress, be prepared for a VERY long walk, you will be walking 1 kilometre to the last gun emplacement. Fantastic achievement by the French. So much to see and all perfectly preserved, even more tunnels not yet prepared for visiting. Easily a half day to see it all, go by guided tours or, as I did, explore it all yourself. Lots of parking.
Ewan B — Google review
For the history and time it represents it tells the story. There is some long walking but information at almost every turn. It is far from an empty shell with displays, explanations and speaking’s with realistic sounds. The feel is that the fort is ready for action at a moments notice…very well done!!
ARBBFamily — Google review
Great experience of life fighting underground in the second world War and an insight into its astonishing construction. Able to see the dormitories the kitchens and the infirmary. My husband loved the visit to the gun turret that went up and down. We liked it especially as it is self guided and all the other forts are tour only .
Debbie S — Google review
If you are interested in military history you must visit. Self guided and the fort is huge. Give yourself more than two hours and there is a lot of walking. Fascinating structure and so well designed. Just brilliant, also wear something warm and good tread on your shoes / boots.
Marki A — Google review
The Schoenenbourg Fortress, one of many sections of the Maginot Line, impresses everyone! Its size, grandeur, engineering, and organization. I use the term "fortress" wisely, as it is a huge, fortified defensive structure capable of functioning independently. We are not experts or military enthusiasts, and our visit to Schoenenbourg was intended to confirm and expand our knowledge of the Maginot Line. We fully answered these questions thanks to the fact that we were able to move freely around the fortress at our own pace. The tour trails are well-described, clearly marked to which bastion they lead. Along the way, there are numerous information boards, descriptions, historical posters, rooms, and equipment necessary for life and defense. Life-support equipment, military equipment, and transportation were important elements of the fortress. The infrastructure is incredibly impressive. I cannot help but express my respect and admiration for the people who conceived, designed, built, and served there. It's not important to us whether the building fulfilled its purpose, what matters is that it's a brilliant design. Seeing the rooms where soldiers served, the rooms where they rested and slept, and the everyday equipment, we realized how difficult service was in these conditions. After a four-hour walk, the lack of sunlight and blue sky was already taking its toll, sparking our imaginations of how difficult such service was. And if we add to this the sounds echoing across the concrete, bullets striking concrete, explosions, gunfire, ricochets, the smell of gunpowder and poison gases... it becomes an unimaginable nightmare.
Uplander G — Google review

Visitors can also enjoy reasonably priced refreshments while exploring the clean facilities and ample seating areas. Additionally, there is a photo booth with complimentary props. Excellent WWII-museum. Huge collection uniforms and vehicles. Nice German boat. Also great stuff to do for kids: climbing, flight simulator... Very well done. Friendly staff.

The museum was great to look at tanks you could get pretty close to them and they had a ton of tanks there. They also had rows of military vehicles like cars trucks anti air ands more. Not to mention 4 hours or more of military uniforms, guns, and items from the war. They had a kids spot with a zip line, a bouncy house, rock climbing and a bar. Only problem was that the information stands were only written in French.

A WWII museum with displays of weapons, uniform, tanks, etc., of several origins (of both allies and Nazi Germany and assisting countries). The display is very interesting. However, the horrors of the war and the holocaust are nearly unregarded. At the end of the museum, there is an adventure hall with a zip line and a flight simulator, which is great for the kids.

One of the most beautiful castles in Alsace. Partially preserved, it's one of the oldest buildings of the area, discoverable by car or by hiking. My minivan had no problems. From there, it’s a short hike to the welcome center—tickets, souvenirs, sitting area, and cafe. Fair priced and quick service! Then, you either go on the kid’s challenge trail OR head directly to the ruins. Visiting the ruins is included in the cost of the kids challenge trail. For my family of 5 (with a 4, 6, and 8 year old), we did the kids challenge trail. It engages the kids as the parents get to soak in the views, and it teaches everyone the history of the area. This ends up taking you on a nature hike thru the woods, and up to the actual ruins. The ruins are amazing—you can feel the history, and are granted some spectacular views. My kids loved it, and my wife and I noted how easy it was to get there, spend a day, and never think twice about much. It’s about an hour and a half from the Kaiserslautern area. The staff speaks German, French, and a fair bit of English. 100% recommend this place!

Very nice visitors center and cafeteria... Very cool ruined Schloss with an interesting history. Had a neat set up for the kids, an interactive tour from one section of the ruins to the next. Ruins are part of a large Forrest preserve with hiking trails that lead to several other castles. 👌

What a place. Came here on a Wednesday afternoon with one other adult and my three kids ages 5,3, and 1.5 years. I wore the baby and the other two walked (with some shoulder riding from parking lot for the 3yo). We entered the parking lot at the first entrance, not realizing (or stopping to read the sign) that you can drive all the way to the end of it and be a few minutes walk closer to the trail entrance. Once at the end of the parking lot, or after the sharp turn in the road after the beginning of the lot, you’ll see a trail in the woods that runs parallel to the road (which is at this point restricted to buses or staff only). The trail took us about 10 minutes and has some cool stuff about mining to see along the way. It might have been stroller accessible for an offroading stroller, but we didn’t bring one as there is no way to use it in the castle. Once you get to the information center, you’re in a small little courtyard of sorts, with the ticket and gift shop on the left, a restaurant at the far end, a kids feature on the right (an additional fee that we didn’t purchase), and bathrooms at the entrance on the right. We purchased tickets for us adults as the kids were free (€10 total I believe) and set off to the castle, which took another 5-10 minutes of walking. Once you’re at the castle, there are tons of staircases, both paved and uneven stony ones, in and out of the castle, to explore. It feels like you could get lost in such a good way, with secret staircases and little rooms hidden off the side of halls and stairs. There are fun stories for the kids to follow about someone named Hugo discovering the ruins, and they do a great job with sighs explaining what areas were used for and images showing how it might have been used. The best part of the castle, though, is the top, where it feels like you’re in a castle in the sky. Mind blowing to thing of how they made this castle so long ago, so high on this rock formation. The views are spectacular, even if all you see is forest and other rock formations. There are apparently a few other castles in the area, presumably on a hiking route, but we didn’t have enough time or energy to continue explaining. After the castle, we had ice cream at the cafe and bought toys for the kids at the store (I was pleasantly surprised at the prices). Most of the food was pre prepared quiches and wurst and whatnot which we didn’t want. Overall, this was an amazing afternoon trip that took about 2-3 hours total, for us with about 20 minutes of walking in shade on a forest path with tons of stair climbing once in the castle, for a very reasonable price for adults.

Nice mall and small food court area. Restrooms unfortunately 0.50€ but if you lucky you can use it for free, after spending your money at the mall 😉

The Japanischer Garten und Japan-Imbiss is a vast, well-maintained Japanese garden that features various attractions like a teahouse, festivals, and waterfalls. It is filled with lush green trees and plants, tranquil sitting areas, and bodies of water where one can find fishes and ducks. The park also offers excellent photo opportunities; however, it tends to get crowded on sunny days.
Beautiful gardens. Ponds with koi fish. Waterfalls. Stone paths and steps. Lots of photo opportunities. Very relaxing. Has small snack bar. Has visitor restrooms. Small gift shop at the entrance. Reasonable admission fees.

Stopped in and enjoyed the time here. It was smaller than we expected but we still had a nice walk around. This is not a stroller friendly place at all, so consider that when planning your visit. Lots of beautiful trees and scenery. Maps had us park down the street and there were not signs showing us where to go but we found it…

This garden was really beautiful and literally couldn't sit and read a book if it was warmer outside. Parking was great and close. Definitely worth a visit and will be posting on our insta @Parksidemagic soon and will show you what your missing out on. Looking forward to going back in spring

Garden was beautiful and perfect for a nice walk. It was serene and an amazing place for pictures. It’s well kept and the ducks and koi fish were so pretty in the small lake.

Great place to stop if it's on your way. Inexpensive and gorgeous. If you arrive on the weekend there's free parking right next to it, drive up the ally by the side of the garden entrance

Japanese Garten is a refreshing patch of nature in the middle of the city center. Although we missed the earlier blossoming of trees, the garden areas and trails were well maintained and beautiful. There are benches throughout the garden. Koi fish, ducks and other birds add to the picturesque setting of the garden. If looking to enjoy a book, take the perfect picture or just quietly observe nature, the garden is a great place for self reflection. A Japanese Tea ceremony is periodically performed within the grounds. There is also a a small outdoor cafe where you can get a beverage and light snack. This is a must see location in Ktown.

Fia K — Google review
Very peaceful! It is 6,50€ to enter and WELL worth it! There are beautiful koi fish in the pond and the views are spectacular. I'm going to have to come back and have a little picnic at this garden and maybe bring my books to study. It's gorgeous and sooo soo peaceful. Definitely going to make this place my little "escape" from reality. It doesn't even feel like you are in Germany when you walk in. Extremely ethereal. And hearing the waterfall was just so calming. I absolutely cannot wait to go back!

Royal Palace

Performing arts theater
Concerts & Shows
The Royal Palace is a must-visit event that offers an impressive show, likened to the grandeur of the Moulin Rouge in Paris but with a larger stage and more affordable prices. The performances are captivating, featuring fantastic artists that provide top-notch entertainment. While some visitors found the food to be good but not exceptional, the overall experience of the show is highly recommended. Guests have expressed their enjoyment and satisfaction with the incredible performances and great value for money at this amazing venue.
Close to Strasbourg, 30km drive, surprisingly a real international class cabaret, outstanding spectacle! I recommend to have dinner before at Le Versailles Restaurant, one of their 2 located in the complex, nice menu. And the last part of the night, joining the final party at The Lounge, night club dedicated only to the guests of the cabaret! A real outstanding evening!!

A parisian cabaret at la campagne. We went with family and friends to spend some time together. We had a wonderful dinner. The show and the artists were amazing. It is really incredible to find and to believe a such place exists, especially in the countryside.

Famous cabaret show, offers a complete evening and night of entertainment. We had a great dinner in the restaurant Versailles, very kitch decorations but good food and decent wines. Don't go there for a quiet dinner for 2 though, everybody is cramped on large tables. There is live music and possibilities to dance. The show was amazing (Flamboyant) with the acrobatic tours, the dancing nice and the singing ok. The lounge club is a very nice way to finish the evening since there is nothing else to do in the region. Service is quick and friendly, music is not too loud, still possible to have a conversation, and the dance floor was quickly filled with hits from seventies up to today.

Citadel of Bitche

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Citadel of Bitche is a 17th-century fortress located in the charming French city of Bitche. The citadel features a chapel and a museum that focuses on the 1870 Franco-Prussian war, offering visitors an immersive experience into the historical events. Inside the ramparts, guided tours lead small groups through rooms where the history of the siege of Bitche is explained, accompanied by videos depicting key figures and events from that time.
Great way to spend part of the day. Beautiful view of the area. Town is very friendly to tourists. The citadel is huge with a cool story from the was in 1870. Head phones for a tour with multiple languages including English.
Bwms78 — Google review
The Citadel of Bitche is an impressive sight perched above the quiet town in northeastern France. With its massive stone walls and commanding views, it tells the story of a town that has withstood centuries of conflict. Though less famous than other French fortresses like the Citadel of Carcassonne, Bitche still offers a solid, if more understated, experience for history lovers. Unlike Carcassonne, which is packed with shops, medieval streets, and a castle-like atmosphere, Bitche’s citadel leans more toward a focused historical visit. There’s a multimedia experience inside that takes you through the sieges and military importance of the site, and it’s well done; perhaps not as extensive or immersive as some might expect. Facilities are modest but convenient. There’s a small gift shop and a café for a snack or coffee after your visit, and parking is no problem at all. There’s plenty of space, including designated spots for camper vans, making it a great stop for road trippers exploring the region. While it may not be a full-day destination like some of France’s better-known citadels, the Citadel of Bitche has a unique, quiet charm. It’s a worthwhile detour if you’re nearby and interested in military history or off-the-beaten-path landmarks. Just come with measured expectations and you’ll find a well-preserved monument with stunning views and a dose of French history without the crowds.
AGladers — Google review
Interesting history inside, but particularly loved the garden of peace outside (additional entrance fee of 3 Euros) which was a joy to be in on a sunny day.

Nice stop while camping nearby. There is a tour with audio option available which is roughly two hours. Fantastic structure.
David J — Google review
The citadel is very nice, historical place with nice panoramic views from the citadel and to view Bitche city from above
Johan B — Google review
I would like to give it four stars or more because it really was thrilling. However, it was scary and the woman at the ticket office did not help me very much It was so long of walk up on slippery cobblestones so be careful. I was a bit afraid of slipping, because I am older. Also, the fort is huge and you walk through rooms in the dark fortunately, there is another room and another room. When I got to the end a woman made me a good panini. But be careful if you ask for a glass of water and your French isn’t good. She offered. L’eau de Mirable which is a Schnapps!
L S — Google review
A remarkable place. On a fine and clear day you can enjoy fantastic views from up there, even as far as the Black forest in Germany. The war-torn history of the citadel can be relived during a tour of the interior, with various episodes presented on film in various rooms within the citadel. Headphones for the tour are available in several languages.
P. H — Google review
Citadel was cool to see. The audio tour was kind of disappointing - it’s more of walking while watching a movie. There’s no background given so unless you know the history it can be confusing. The grounds are nice - we finished the tour too late so we were unable to check out the gift shop or cafe.

Nice place near saverne. No need hiking. Can go by car. Not big castle. Its ruins but still good view from up top
Pratharv — Google review
Very interesting castle, different from other ones. The visit of the top Level can be a bit of a challenge if you are afraid of hights, as you access it by an iron stair case which is built onto the rock surface. Have also a closer look at the Rock surface inside the castle, it is full of traces of processing: to shape it or build beam Supports. Worth a visit and the Restaurant which is located inside the castle area has really good food.

A good stop. Very nice place, worthy to visit and you can eat at the site (castle) as well.

What a great experience so close to Saverne. All is for free (parking, toilets, entrance) and the old fortress is really interesting and thrilling to walk around in. A magnificent view of Alsace from the top and to the canal de la Marne au Rhin in both directions. We had just spent a week there on a hired riverboat, so we enjoyed seeing it from above. The restaurat was closed during the afternoon, so we did not visit. Opened at 19.

Great view, Non typical castle build on rocks. Magnificent view on forest around and city on bottom. Free entry, restaurant in, free toilet, free parking. Must see if you around this place. Unfortunately common fog in early winter may block the view for neighbors.

A castle ruin amidst the a red stone structure. Flight of metallic stairs a little tricky followed by small stone steps up to the top, less than 30. Worth the effort to have a lovely view. Then a wooden bridge, safe to cross over to the other side on a rock structure. Young children should be supervised. There was a cafe/restaurant but it was closed.

Musée Lalique is a modern museum located in Wingen-sur-Moder, dedicated to the work of master craftsman Rene Lalique. It was inaugurated in 2011 on the site of Lalique's original glass factory. The museum showcases over 650 pieces, including designs, jewelry, glassware, and crystal ware created by Lalique. Visitors can explore the diverse creations and learn about the history and process of glass art making.
大好き💕I highly, highly recommend it. The artwork is great, but the building itself and the energy of the place is wonderful, as is the place next door where you can have a café lunch. You can go in once, come back out, and go back in again, so I recommend bringing your own lunch and spending the whole day there.

The museum is nice, there's no wait, and it's not too expensive. I like how most of the things are written in French, English and German, its nice to be able to understand something once in a while. The crystal pieces were immaculate, they look amazing. I just think there's something that you could add to it to make it even better. If i would rate it out of ten, it would be a seven, but i cant rate it out of ten.

After shopping, we stopped at Five Guys — and it was the perfect way to end the day! The burgers were fresh, juicy, and made exactly the way we wanted. The fries were crispy and delicious, and the staff were super friendly and quick. Definitely a 5-star experience all around — great shopping, great food, and great service!”

Plenty of name brand stores at discounted prices. There is also plenty of free parking right in the premises. There are also enough choices to eat from. There are small little food booths, as well as restaurants to go to. Your standard Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts are also there. We like going to Frittenwerk which offers a variety of different fries. They also offer veggie and Halal dishes.

In all, you can actually save a bit of money by visiting. When I need to update my Adidas casual "jogger" wardrobe, for example, it is always best to come here. Cookware, clothing, leather goods, shoes, etc., can all be found at the many stores on site and generally speaking at a significant savings. You will find ample parking, car charging stations, and food trucks galore. But, I think the real reason to come is the welcoming atmosphere and "village like" design of the campus. You can grab a burger or an espresso and simply enjoy the sense of community and simple commerce. I do not make a habit out of visiting, but every three months or so I find myself here and it is a very enjoyable experience.

The Felsenkirche, a small church with a rich history, is nestled within the face of a rocky hill. Its exterior stands out amidst the rocks, while the entrance can be found through a cave-like tunnel. The interior of the church is also carved into the rock, creating an awe-inspiring sight. Perched above the city of Idar-Oberstein, this hidden gem boasts a cross made from precious stones, showcasing the town's renowned craftsmanship.
If you like history and ancient buildings this is a great place to go, a church that at the very beginning of the construction it was a castle. When you are inside you are able to see how some of the walls are just rock of the mountain. Very interesting place with an amazing story. We had an excellent guide that explained every single corner of the place. The tour was made in German and one of our friends translated in to English. I didn’t ask if they offer a tour in English but I think it should be possible. The best way to go inside is to order a tour, is nothing expensive but you need to consider that is at least for 8 people.

It was enjoyable to see the church. So impressive that it is built into the rock. We were bummed to find out that the opening hours that are listed on Google are only in conjunction with having tickets for a tour. There is a nice trail to walk up above the church to look at the ruins.

A good museum with 3 floors of gemstones. The pieces are well described and there are some unique gems too. There are 2 different puzzle tracks for kids. Those make the visit for them more interesting. There is one with finding numbers and one with finding letters. Both were a bit challenging for a 6 year old. They have a Audio Guide that you can download but a QR- code at the entrance would promote it more

Spas & Wellness
Saarland Therme GmbH & Co. KG is a wellness hub featuring both indoor and outdoor pools, massages, and saunas with a modern design inspired by Moorish themes. Located near the A620 highway, it's easily accessible from Saarbrucken and the nearby Glamping Resort. The spa offers a relaxing environment for couples, with an impressive main reception area and soothing evening ambiance accompanied by live piano music.
Great facilities, relaxing atmosphere & overall a very clean and fun experience. No need to book. We arrived at 2pm, not too busy and stayed for 2 hours. You pay at the end of your session for however long you stayed (either 2 or 4 hours or the day). Great price for what it was, plenty of rooms, saunas, steam rooms and outdoor pool was lovely in the winter at night. Weekday was quite quiet but got busier in the evening. No phones allowed but would’ve loved to have taken a picture of the atmosphere.

It was so relaxing and refreshing. The salt pool gave me life. If you put your ears down in the water you can hear relaxing music so I fell asleep lol. Nice place to go.

The restorative power of these baths over body, mind and spirit has been indescribable. There are various pools to choose from in the Therme. Beautiful tile and old world Turkish lamps illuminate these beautiful spaces. There is an exhilarating outdoor pool with beautiful mature olive trees to view. The indoor salt pool is still, dark and intriguing. In fact, if you float on your back and place your head in the warm water you can be swayed by the mystic music coming from underneath while you look at the stars above. Each pool has its own stirring characteristics and evokes a sense of calm. If you are looking for a relaxing spa day, highly recommend going during the weekdays so that you may fully enjoy the Therme.

Went there on a Thursday afternoon. Ample car parking, easy access. Helpful and friendly bilingual (German/French) reception staff, didn't test their English level, maybe they speak good English too? They explained everything very clearly, pricing policy, restaurant, facilities, extra charge for naturist zone if you wanted to go there and how to avoid it if you didn't want to go there. I was almost dissuaded from going by some very negative reviews, fortunately I decided to make my own mind up and my wife and I had an excellent experience. We have visited many thermal baths in Europe, Japan and Taiwan and this is certainly comparable. Go there, relax and enjoy.

The Therme was only ok. Nothing special. We had planned on spending the whole day, but ended up only being there for a few hours. The lady at the front desk had asked us if this was our first time here and we said yes. She gave us no explanation of the system. We went to the first locker room and tried to lock the locker doors and it wouldn't work with the wrist band. Another customer saw our predicament and told us that the number on our wrist band corresponds to the locker number. Why didn't the front desk tell us that? We found another customer in the same predicament as us. The front desk could have easily told us this and the other customers. After many stairs, we found the texiltile free area. It is a small area with a few saunas and only a small pool to soak in. The saunas and the dampfbad were fine. The outdoor resting area was up another flight of steps. What do people with disabilities do? How could they get up to these areas? The outdoor resting area was nice and large with comfortable lounging. But people were smoking everywhere! There was no dedicated smoking area. I didn't stay because it was not relaxing trying to rest and inhaling cigarette smoke. We looked for another resting area. It was only by chance, that I saw a gentleman coming out of an unmarked door, that I found the indoor resting area. Why wasn't there a sign for this room? There were no bathrooms in the textile free area. We did try the pools in the textile area. They were nice, but only ok. The decor was very nice. On the day of our visit, there were not too many Aufgusses (which was a shame). The one Aufguss that we did manage to visit, was nice. I can see where lots of simple improvements can make this a better Therme. I wouldn't spend the money to come back here again. Germany has much better Therme's elsewhere.

Tucked away near the French border in Saarland, this little Moorish escape feels like a fragment of the Alhambra, quietly resting in western Germany. A place of warm tiles, carved arches, and the soft scent of steam drifting through the air. The saunas are intimate — perhaps too intimate for some — with the rooftop one being the crown jewel. The steam bath hides in its corner, a ladies-only space offers privacy, and the smaller rooms upstairs glow softly in the dim light. There’s a Moroccan restaurant on site that could hold its own against far more famous kitchens — fragrant spices, rich flavors, and quality that makes you slow down between bites. The staff, kind and unhurried, carry the warmth of the place in their voices. But this gem has its flaws. The first pool is small and can feel… close. At peak hours, especially during the famed steam show, it’s almost impossible to find space to sit, let alone breathe. For less than four hours, with a simple meal and a drink, expect to part with around €180 for two. It’s not perfect. It’s not cheap. And perhaps that’s for the better. Some treasures should remain hidden from the masses.

Mineral therme where you can relax, many pools where to swim with integrated jacuzzi and bubbly water, there are an indoor and an outdoor pool, the last is so beautiful at night especially with lights and candles on. There are also different saunas and hamam and there is a salty pool. I recommend to spend the day there since you have all what you want there (food, relaxing area where you can sleep, showers and more).

This is a great spa and it has the option of with or without swimwear. The food in the restaurant has lots of Moroccan flavour. My only criticism is we told the lady at the front counter it was our first time and she offered no assistance explaining the facility. We had to figure it out on our own...

We went for drinks, the atmosphere was very pleasant despite it being full, our drinks were served very quickly. And they were really delicious. The servers were friendly and kind. There was even a cigarette dispenser inside, which definitely gave me 90's vibes. Overall, it is a great spot for students.

I love this place. International friendly and it's a place to meet up with new friends. They also have brunch and great food in the menu. So don't miss a chance and come by to enjoy the ambiance!

The people who work here are always cool and friendly. One can't take that for granted these days. That's probably the main reason I keep coming back and have made this my Stammkneipe. Moreover, the location is perfect to sit for hours drinking a Guiness, a Scotch or any local beer or wine or all of those in one evening.

I ordered the cheese burger and two Iceteas (Melon and Blueberry). The cheese burger wasn't the best, but maybe it is just my personal dislike for it. I didn't like caramelized onions as it was overpowering and I don't think it should go on a burger. Also the burger had a lot of tomato, A LOT, it felt like the only taste was Tomato and Caramelized onions. The blueberry icetea is too sour (maybe I just dislike blueberries), but the watermelon icetea was pretty good, highly recommend the watermelon icetea.

It has been 2 years and the only change is the brand of beer. This is still a great place to be. You will love it. 2020 Review: Great place to meet and sit with friends. This was my first time at this pub and I will definitely be back.

+ they have Guinness, location in old town of Saarbrucken, you can watch football - burger not the best you can have for the price (~12€)

Cold feeling. Unpleasant waitress. Beer priced about average. Closed 2 hours earlier than advertised. But it is an Irish bar abroad.

It's an ok pub...I guess its what you would expect from a Irish pub in Saarbrucken Germany ..the lighting was a but dark and food options limited....but I guess if you like the pub experience...then you can check it out...they also have a nice outside patio option...but it was packed

A nice place to visit! So vast and you can find a lot of banks to sit on. A peaceful and good choice for a nice walk too. In addition to that, you can also the beautiful sight of ducks and goose. Such graceful creatures. :)

Large nice park, partially green, beautiful lake, benches. Sometimes too many people. Funny bold ducks and geese. Good place to walk, run. Normal for picnics, but actually no particular infrastructure for such a large lication.
Natalia I — Google review
We went in early May, it was beautiful. The artifitial little river creates a nice landscape. Good place for running. Beautiful and difrerent kinds of ducks were also interesting. The only pity was that there was no pedal boat working.
Aniss M — Google review
A spacious park with lots of manicured lawns, a rose garden, a big pond and forest nearby. I wish there were more flowerbeds and the garden were fancier. If you have a company of friends it is a good place to use for the outing. There were just the 2 of us and the place seemed a little too dull. I have been to fancier parks.
