Nestled in the charming town of Gyula, Hungary, the stunning Gyula Castle is a remarkable 600-year-old Gothic structure that invites visitors to explore its rich history and breathtaking views. This beautifully refurbished castle offers an interactive experience for families, making it a perfect destination for those traveling with children. As you wander through its ancient halls and narrow circular staircases, you'll discover fascinating exhibits that bring the past to life.
This is a must visit in Gyula, one of the most important landmarks of the city, rich in history and culture. We have enjoyed our time here regardless of the rain and would recommend visiting it! 😄

Pretty cool castle! Mix of both modern and new areas although more of it is renovated than original. Cool bird outside. Each room has an exhibition and I saw some pretty cool elements which I haven’t seen in other museums before. Worth the visit if you’re in the area!
Nikol — Google review
Nice castle with the river next to it. There are hawks outside the entrance, which was very interesting. Around the river, if you walk, you find lots and lots of ducks and ducklings and other birds
Alex D — Google review
Pleasant and unique experience, an example of how a citadel built in the 15th century, can be enhanced and provide us with a lot of historical information through the owned collections and multimedia presentations. Unfortunately, the multimedia presentations are only in Hungarian, maybe in the future they will add presentations in tune or more international languages
Calin H — Google review
beautiful castle. nicely renovated. independent visiting concept. however, written descriptions were only in Hungarian.
Marius G — Google review
This is one of the most important historical landmarks of Gyula. Visiting it is a nice experience because it's nice and it's a crucial part of the city's history that dates back to hundreds of years. This is a true medieval experience that shouldn't be missed by people coming to visit Gyula. I recommend it! 👍⭐️👏💪
Mario-Liviu G — Google review
We visited the castle with our 11 and 9 year old kids, they absolutely loved it, and so did us. We paid about 38 EUR for 2 adults and 2 kids, but the tickets included visits for the Andrássy castle too. I say it's a fair price. The castle is completely restaured, there is even a real blacksmith shop on site, where you can buy for about 3 EUR a lucky horseshoe with your name on it.
Laszlo E — Google review
Gyula Castle, located in southeastern Hungary, is a beautifully preserved medieval fortress offering a unique glimpse into the country's rich history. Built in the 15th century, the brick castle features a moat, high defensive walls, and a stunning inner courtyard. Inside, visitors can explore a well-curated museum showcasing period weapons, furniture, and historical exhibits. The panoramic view from the tower is worth the climb. Seasonal reenactments and cultural events add extra charm to the visit. Its peaceful park surroundings and proximity to thermal baths make it an ideal day trip destination. Gyula Castle masterfully blends history, architecture, and leisure.

Very well organised, beautiful museum. A great place to visit if you have kids. They have many interactive exhibitions, great for kids. We visited the castle in a Sunday afternoon and it was almost empty. If you visit Gyula, don't miss this place.

Great exhibition! We had a guide. Interesting stories. Teenagers enjoyed the guided tour. Magic mirror!
Eszter K — Google review
Wonderful, a place full of history. They preserved some parts from the original castle. The museum is very well done, organised and I like a lot the exhibition. You can buy a ticket to visit the temporary exhibition which unfortunately it is only in Hungarian, you can buy a ticket for the permanent exhibition which is amazing, everything is also translated in English, so that's great and you can also pay to go on the roof top of the castle to enjoy the wonderful view. Totally worth it! Enjoy!
Raluca P — Google review
The castle itself is beautiful inside and outside, great interactive exhibitions on a huge site, a very good value to money! The temporary Sissi exhibition however was small and less outstanding. It was also interactive though and they shared a lot of information about Sissi, but there weren't many of her clothes or furniture from her castle in Gödöllő, where I believe the original Sissi exhibition is. I have found the temporary exhibition a bit pricey, comparing it to the whole castles entry fee which is only 50% higher, but there are a lot more to see and do. The castle also has a brilliant gift shop, selling all sorts of things from fridge magnets to books and even umbrellas about the castle or the towns other sights and about the temporary exhibition. The on site coffee shop serves nice coffee in various tastes and delicious cakes. The terrace of the coffee is dog friendly and you can also smoke at the outside tables.
Emese S — Google review
The renewed building is very impressive, the staff and exhibitions are real professionals. The interactive parts of the exhibitions make it real joyful and fun to the entire family; go with your kids and all of you will enjoy the story and also the history. 😊🏰🗡⚔️🛡🙏🏼👽
Peter ( — Google review
This castle exceeded my expectations! It was traditional, full of history but very modern (with the newest interior decor trends) at the same time. If you visit this place, you can learn a lot about the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries’ lifestyle and how people lived, worked and behaved, what the etiquette was how the children learnt, what fashion trends were impressive at that time. It can take 2-3 hours to see everything and I am not kidding!
Lilla K — Google review
Very nicely renovated, displaying a lot of artifacts that take you back in time. New technology implemented to help visitors experience past times. Visited also a Herendi porcelan exhibition in one section of the castle, it was quite impresive. Highly recommend to visit.
Alex P — Google review
The castle itself is really nice with interactive pieces being present for the visitors. However, I was very sad when I saw a real pen with ink asking me to write my letter, yet we didn't receive any paper to write on. I still recommend visiting the museum, but be aware, that you should spend at least 2 hours just to walk through and take a look at things.

An impressive building dominating Revolution Square in Arad. This is the Arad City Hall. Built at the end of the 19th century, it is one of the finest examples of eclectic style in the city. A perfect spot for photos and an architectural landmark you shouldn't miss when exploring the center of Arad :)

One of my favourite place in Arad, my hometown. If you take a brake on one of the benches situated at the front of the city hall, you can feel the pulse of the city, at any hour. Also, between 19:00 and 23:00 the motorcycles and the sport / tuned cars, are making their promenade! Love it!

Roses Park

Roses Park in Timisoara is a serene and picturesque park renowned for its vibrant rose gardens, hosting various outdoor concerts, festivals, and events. The park's history dates back to the 1891 Universal Exposition and has undergone several transformations. With over 6000 rose bushes, it boasts one of the largest rose collections in Europe.
A beautiful park spread across more than 6 acres of land on the shore of the Began canal. The park has been an important landmark of the city since its opening in 1819. After being destroyed during the war, the park has been renovated several times, with new roses and new canopies and seating areas being added each time. Throughout the year the park is host for several cultural events while the roses bloom during spring and summer, providing an exceptional view and scent.
Liviu-Cristian M — Google review
Beautiful park. Right next to the river. Roses did not flurish yet, when we visited, but still was very nice. Must see place in Temisoara in my opinion.
Bojana A — Google review
The park is big and was transformed into a huge space for the festival this week 😍 I am so glad we got to experience this beautiful cultural and diverse experience during our 5-day stay in Timişoara 🥰 There were people from all ages, families, and lots of talented artists 🤩 There were also food trucks lined up on the street before going in the park so I am super happy I got to eat more Romanian food too 🥹 The park is clean, well maintained and very relaxing for walks or runs or spending time alone or either family/friends. I highly recommend to visit it and wander around 😊
Elia N — Google review
We visited in early April, which was too early for roses to bloom (but other flowers were in full bloom all across the city). Still, it was obvious that this was well designed park and popular place. The park is located just minutes from the city center, on the beautiful bank of the Bega river. Also, the street leading to the park has beautiful trees which were on full bloom when we visited.
Marija R — Google review
This was one of my favourite mud holes in Romania. Personally, I’m glad they cleared away all the roses because they were likely ruining the view of all the mud. I appreciate Timisoara is known as a garden city but I’d gladly support its transition to the nations favourite building site for 2026.
Lee B — Google review
Very beautiful and modern park of roses with concert hall on air. There is the children trampoline zona. Very good place for relax and cap of coffee. We were on festival of Romania and Ukrainian cultures. it was very good organized by Ukrainian union of Timisoara in Romania.
Viktoriia A — Google review
It's a small park in the city center. There are lots of roses to admire, but most are small, and very few are perfumed. When you're surrounded by roses, you'd expect rose perfume.
Andrei M — Google review
It's a cute park. My friend who lives there mentioned that there were a lot more roses in the past and now the local authorities are putting effort into rehabilitating it so that it can live up to its name again.

"Three Holy Hierarchs" Metropolitan Cathedral

Mentioned on

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The "Three Holy Hierarchs" Metropolitan Cathedral is a remarkable Neo-Moldavian Romanian Orthodox cathedral located in its own park on the south side of Piata Victoriei. It is a technical marvel, able to accommodate 5,000 worshippers under its nine towers. The cathedral's design was influenced by Medieval Byzantine churches of Moldavia and features a cavernous interior without columns, made possible through the use of reinforced concrete.
We stopped by the Metropolitan Cathedral on a warm afternoon and were truly touched by its peaceful and majestic presence. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, but what really took us by surprise was the Cathedral Museum located in the basement. It’s a must-visit – featuring an impressive collection of religious icons on wood, glass, and canvas, beautifully embroidered and sculpted sacred objects, as well as a remarkable selection of old religious books. It adds so much depth to the experience and gives visitors a real appreciation for the spiritual and artistic heritage of the area. Truly a serene and enriching place.
Consuela V — Google review
A historical cathedral that enchanted my heart and became a must stop on my short stay 🩵 The cathedral has a different charm at night, majestic and magical with its lights. It has another charm during the day with the sun moving around it. Always radiating with beauty 🙌🏻 We were lucky enough to be there also for the festival parade on 2nd July 🥰

Old city of Timisoara, Romania, first class experience. Nice interesting old buildings reconstructed, clean streets. Everything is in a walking distance, you do not need taxis. Lots of cafes and restaurants not expensive that depends, sorry. We at at traditional Romanian restaurant which Offer Romanian cuisine, very tasty and for 2 big portion it was AUS$ 47. Again Australian $ is very low about 1€=2aus $. We travelled by car and pared it in city centr. We bought SIM card just for a day.
Boris B — Google review
This is the simbol of Timișoara, the beautiful orthodox cathedral. A place that we all love and cherish. Anyways, we cannot, and should not forget that on December 1989 the clergy closed and locked the main doors and the people of Timisoara, were massacred on the stairs of the church!
Rasputin — Google review
The Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral in Timișoara is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a true architectural masterpiece. Its imposing Neo-Romanian design, adorned with distinctive mosaics and stained-glass windows, dominates the main boulevard. The interior radiates warmth and spiritual peace, decorated with beautiful icons and frescoes. The cathedral also holds great historical significance, especially during the events of 1989, making it a place of silent tribute. A visit here leaves a lasting impression and offers a glimpse into Romania’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Ivana I — Google review
Cathedral of the Three Holy Hierarchs made me truly speechless. From the moment I spotted its soaring towers and colourful glazed-roofs, I knew I had entered a place where history, faith and art come together in one magnificent experience. For any traveller to Timişoara, this cathedral isn’t just a landmark to photograph — it’s an experience to feel. I left with a sense of having touched something much greater than just beautiful architecture: a living piece of heritage and heart of the city. You must go there. PLUS - in general Timisoara city is beaitiful and worth visiting - the city center is amazing full of interesting places. Timișoara is a masterpiece, multicultural city with a rich architectural heritage and a forward-looking spirit so if you will have time just go there.

Sunshine Aquapolis Szeged

Sunshine Aquapolis Szeged is an energetic waterpark that boasts both indoor and outdoor waterslides, as well as swimming pools and a sauna. It's the perfect place to spend your weekend with family and friends. To save money, it's recommended to purchase full-day tickets which grant access from 8am to 8pm. The thermal bath area is particularly beneficial for overall body health and stress relief.
A must here in Szeged. If you love water and sun, you need to visit. I bought the full day ticket. Bought an extra Spa massage. All the pools, interior and exterior have warm water so, no worries about the atmospheric temperature being cold. Well, today, 3th of May 2025 the air temperature was 30°C. Great for families, couples, lovers...even for a lonely soul like me. Highly recommended.
Paulo L — Google review
If you’re into waterslides, you should definitely visit! Maybe a bit pricier than nearby spa centers at Mako and Moraholom which are a bit better value for money.
Dule V — Google review
The water park is open all year round and offers water entertainment for both children and adults. Hot water pools, slides, treatment pools, jacuzzi pools, etc.
Calin H — Google review
The place is pretty fun, has lots of different pools, even with warmer water for younger kids or colder water for “older kids”. There are places for food and drinks on the inside but you are also allowed with your own food and drinks. You can even buy water toys and floaters. There is covered, paid parking under the water park. There are plenty of slides and a lazy river that becomes pretty fast at times. There are different places that you can lay down on, inside and outside. I can’t give it a 5 star because our aqua park in Timișoara looks much better, this one feeling pretty old.
Aioanei T — Google review
The Aquapark is just big enough for a family of 4 to spend 1 day. We had moved into 7 different pools from which 2 were outside ( one was baby/kids only). There are heated water pools that have more than 32 degrees and there are 2 hot pools that I guess are over 40 or 45 and these 2 had yellowish water so I presume have some minerals into it also (did not spend more than 15 seconds there as the kids were not interested in this). To eat there is quick food place near the outside pools where they serve chicken nuggets, hamburger, pasta and bevareges. It is visible that this place is not new and there several items that show the passage of time or the big number of usages (some restbeds were recoloured and showed multiple usage torns). Because of the several things on cleanliness I gave it 4 stars, in the bathrooms the ceiling was looking damp and broken and with black spots. From the slides part I could say they are pretty awesome. Two of them you go with the lift and they are quite long with many turns. Three are at 2nd level and other 3 are at first level. If you want to take kids to a pool and slides for 1-2 days this place is good and very affordable.
Daniel G — Google review
I honestly expected more for that price. You enter, and then you have to pay for the sunbeds, and the parking, and the towels for the sauna. I liked the fact that it wasn't crowded at all, especially in the SPA area that belongs to the hotel. Loved the saunas, and the jacuzzi.
Ramona N — Google review
The slides are diverse enough, but quite outdated. They charge you for parking (2 eur/hour) and prices for beverages are quite high. All in all, I think there is better value for money in other hungarian waterparks. But still, a good place to chill and have fun with kids.
Iulian H — Google review
Really excellent day out. Not crowded at all on a weekday in August, many slides of various adrenaline levels, lazy river, “cave,” lots of interesting structures to swim through and around. No deep water other than under one particular slide, and that area is only reached via the slide itself (there’s another small slide going down from the landing area, so there’s no way for a child to suddenly find themselves in water over their head.) You get a digital “watch” at the entrance which grants access to various areas and also unlocks your locker (no coins required). “Safe deposit” boxes are also available for rental behind the desk if you want more security for your phone/passports. Multiple pools at different temperatures; huge indoor and outdoor spaces. Lots of available places to sit or lie down. We mostly stayed inside because of the blazing sun—there was more than enough to keep my kids busy without needing to bother every two hours with sunscreen. You’re supposed to wear flip flops whenever outside the pool but we didn’t have them and no one said anything. Well worth a trip to Szeged.

Must visit place, the biggest zoo in Hungary, paradise for animals, there is so many of them. You need a good 4 hours to see all. It is divided into continents and animals are positioned accordingly. The most important, excellent environment for all beings and few rare animals to see.

One of the best Zoo to see near Romania and from Hungary. Very many species and a huge place. The main attraction in my opinion is the RED PANDA. Also, there are rhinos and very big elephants. Overall, the zoo is a five star, definetly worth visiting if you have 3 hours free.
Sergiu — Google review
One of the best Zoo's from Eastern Europe. The zoo is very nicely arranged and the animals look very good and healthy. Congratulations to the keepers and we will definitely come back! There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the zoo!
Victor P — Google review
The first steps towards the establishment of the Szeged Zoo began in the 1980s, and on December 5, 1985, the Szeged City Council adopted a resolution establishing the institution as part of the Amusement Park. At that time, the animal collection consisted of only 3 monkeys, a few deer, wild boars and a giant snake. Since January 1, 1989, the National Wildlife Park has become an independent institution, and later, on May 28, it opened its doors with an exhibition of about 4 hectares. It is the youngest traditional zoo in Hungary owned by a municipality and the National Wildlife Park with the largest area of all zoos in Hungary, almost 45 hectares.

Most enclosures are fairly well maintained, though some animals seem to have limited space or appear slightly neglected, which can be upsetting (and because of that I will give 3 stars). Still, the zoo has a natural feel and is a pleasant spot for a slow afternoon walk, especially for families with children. The entry price is very reasonable, and the quiet setting adds to the overall experience.

Wonderful forest atmosphere. All paths are wide enough and strollers can be accessed everywhere. There are places where you can eat local food and drink coffee and juice. There is also a playground for children, with a meadow and benches. Benches and places to rest are almost on every corner.

Absolute disgrace of a zoo. About 0 staff working there (one cashier and a few at the cafe part and that’s it). Animals barely have space (some of them) the condition of the cages and environment is critical. It’s so unfortunate to see this. Please close this and donate them to a proper zoo who can take care of these beautiful creatures
Roland G — Google review
Definitely the most beautiful zoo, and biggest I have ever see, 2h of walking inside, with animals all over the world. Definitely recommend to come.
Stephanie R — Google review
Such potential, very beautiful on the first sight but animals (especially the big ones) has so little space, they are bored and you can see from their behaviour that they wish to die rather than to live that miserable life. We haven't seen anyone working there on Monday! Do something about these animals and bring them to life, it's so sad and disturbing to see something like this!
Mina A — Google review
I LOVED IT!!!! The animals were super cutesy and i was so happy to see them as an animal lover <33 my friends were kinda annoyed because the seal didnt come out of the water a lot but thats more of a non important thing definitely not the fault of the zoo and i loved the parrots so much they were stunning
Kaden E — Google review
In my humble opinion, zoo keepers care more about flowers than animals, it was almost impossible to breathe where they keep lizards and crocodiles, that was the stuff for those who know how lizards poops smells like (for me it was ok, but my wife cannot stand it). The overall stance of the cages is not good and not in the good shape. Please allow people to donate or take some nice snacks for animals, they looked hungry:( . Still, it worth to visit at least once. My wife said that she wanted to become a zoo keeper there to clean all the mess lol ))

Palic Lake, located just eight kilometers from Subotica in Vojvodina, is a serene and picturesque destination for nature lovers. The area offers gentle hiking paths and biking trails, making it perfect for leisurely exploration. Visitors can also enjoy boat hire to cruise the tranquil waters of the lake or take a stroll around its shores. With an artificial island that is home to over 200 bird species, Palic Lake provides a unique opportunity for birdwatching enthusiasts.
Very beautiful artificial lake. The area around is so clean and nice for walking! There is no trash on the grass and out of the trash can. Benches are at every step, so you can sit and enjoy beautiful nature. It is the must see if you go to Subotica. Don’t miss it! It is definitely worth seeing.

Very nice lake, with a great walking path. There are also a few restaurants nearby.
Vanja J — Google review
Palić Lake and its nature are true gems of northern Serbia and the city of Subotica. The entire area is beautifully and tastefully arranged, with the park and lake surroundings kept clean. There’s a path for cycling, walking, or jogging, lined with plenty of benches where you can sit and rest. The wooden dock on the lake is perfect for those seeking a nice tan and enjoying sunbathing under the open sky. A bit further down, there’s a beach with umbrellas and lounge chairs. Unfortunately, the lake water is polluted and not suitable for swimming. Apart from that, everything else is just as it should be. Highly recommended for people visiting with children or pets, as well as anyone else looking to spend a day in the well-maintained nature of Palić nature park.
Dejan J — Google review
A nice place for a walk or picnic. There aren't many different activities there, but you can rent something like a bicycle and ride around on the asphalt there or on a pedal boat on the lake. It seemed that there was also some kind of boat that could be used for a round trip on the lake. Free parking area for cars.
Teele H — Google review
You should visit this place so nice have a lot of trees and relaxing 😌 😎
Nubl M — Google review
Visited the undeveloped area of the lake. Good place for fishing and great for bird watching. But the access is difficult, and the only infrastructure are some bird watching platforms along the only and poorly marked and maintained cycling & hiking path around the lake. A good place to escape into nature, close to town, well, if you know where to go. If not, there is always the developed part of the lake at Palić town.

Quiet place, but the lake view is nice. Good for walk around, little playground for kids and also some restaurant nearby.

Beautiful place, big park, a lot of attractions and activities but don’t count on having a swim or going in the lake because it’s not clean. No one is in it. Make sure to sit on benches and to visit Zoo and the great entrance of the park. Food is really good.

Subotica Municipal Hall is located in the center of Subotica, about 10 minutes' walk from the bus station. It is a beautiful building, with its spire reaching 85 meters above the ground. It is hard to miss it in Subotica. The building has a beautiful appearance, and the interior decoration and layout are also worth seeing. The furniture is beautifully decorated, which is an important embellishment of the building itself. If you are interested, you can also climb the tower of the town hall to get a glimpse of the entire city. This is one of the attractions that cannot be missed when visiting Subotica. To enter, you just need to arrive at the main entrance of the Blue Fountain before 12:00 and wait. A guide will guide tourists and give explanations.

Subotica is truly one of the most beautiful cities I have visited so far, the architecture and atmosphere of this city are something special. The town hall is one of the places you must visit, especially climbing the tower from which you have a panoramic view of the entire city

Such an incredible architecture! It is possible to visit the city hall from Tuesday through Saturday with the guided tour starting at noon. The tours are provided in Serbian, English and Hungarian. The entrance fee is 200RSD, and if you want to climb the tower it is additional 200RSD.

just fantastic! the architecture is beautiful inside and outside. I’ve been here three times with tours in Serbian and English, and both guides were great. for just 400 dinars you’ll understand much more about subotica and also you will see the city from the city hall tower! highly recommended!
Uliana A — Google review
Really beautiful building in Art Noveau style, a must do for those visiting Subotica (along with the synagogue). You can visit the building every day at noon (except Sunday), when there is a tour both in English, Serbian and Hungarian. You can choose to only visit the building or also climb the tower. The price for building is 200 dinars, and for the tower another 200. The view from the tower is amazing, if you can climb up it's highly recommended.

A great tour is available in English everyday at only 12pm everyday except Sunday, there is another tour at the same time in Serbian. Might be worthwhile checking beforehand but we just rocked up. Definitely worthwhile, not expensive.

The Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade is a tribute to the life and work of the renowned electrical engineer, Nikola Tesla. Housed in a charming residential villa, it showcases his personal effects, instruments, and original drawings that revolutionized energy production and distribution. The museum offers both memorial exhibits and interactive displays featuring 3D computer-generated models of Tesla's inventions.
Since im a science subject fan,i was excited to visit this museum. We had a reservation so it was a skip the line entry. Entrance fee was 100 serbian dinar for a group of more than 10.Its interesting to see Nilola Tesla's ideas put into a beautiful work.
R.A G — Google review
The plus side - it’s set up very well to learn more about the history, life and work of Tesla, and there are some great opportunities to see working models of some of his inventions, along with personal artifacts. The down side is that the museum is fairly small, and with large groups, it can be pretty crowded. There is also no way to secure tickets ahead of time, unless you’re with a larger group, and you can only pay in cash.
Lindsay B — Google review
Big disappointment. 1) at least the price is ok , 800 dinars , it’s NOT possible to book online or NOT able to pay with CARD , so you have to wait outside in the rain until they will let you know if you can enter or not since the tour can only accommodate maximum 60 people. I’m not sure why they don’t count 60 people that enter at the gate and then tell the other ones to come back in one hour instead of letting us wait in the rain for an hour. 2) this is actually a very small exhibition, I think the exhibition area is the size of an apartment. It feels more like a high school class lab room than an actual museum. The guide told us that the city is building a bigger and better museum because is very small. ( I think the size has been okay until Elon Musk became famous with the Tesla cars so people started knowing about Nicola Tesla, this is probably the reason why 99% of the people knows about Nicola Tesla) 3) 60 people get crammed on plastic foldable chair chairs in a small room. You feel like a sardine and then they show you a 15 minute video made 10 years ago about the life of Nicola Tesla. 4) then you have 15 minutes where the guide turns on 3 or 4 instruments that Tesla invented. Nothing special if you go to any serious science museum you we’ll see a better and bigger version of this instruments. Not mentioning that you are climbed into a very small room that you can’t even move. 5) then you have another 10 minutes to see a few objects that belonged to Nicola Tesla and then after 45 minutes .
Scotch&Soda — Google review
The museum itself is tiny, they only accept local currency in cash. No forex or card accepted. There is no online ticket to purchase, you need to keep standing in queue for hours for hourly slot. Try to avoid last hours as if its full, regardless of time you been standing they wont allow you to come as they can accept people more then its capacity. Once you are inside, the tour is good, they guide you everywhere
* B — Google review
The museum takes 45 minutes to go around. But that's mainly because you have to wait 5-10 minutes to go through ticketing (and they only accept cash rather than card), and then you have to wait for everyone to get seated. They pack a lot of people into this space so it takes a long time to be ready. The video goes for 15 minutes and probably could be updated and sped up. But realistically you should be abke visit the museum and just skip the video if you want to. They do some good experiment demonstrations, but again, could probably run them twice an hour get more people through the facility - there winds up being so many people in the group that not everyone gets a decent view. overall it's not bad and gives an inside into the man and some of his activities but it's a very small museum.
Brent J — Google review
Just don’t bother to get there . We were waiting for 3 hours as only 60 people can enter each time . You pay only cash and watching for half an hour something that you could easily find on YouTube , then the tour guide shares live some experiments (for kids) and then on the same floor you can check a few personal things of Tesla and his ashes 😏 Just don’t waste your time and money . Belgrade is beautiful choose something else .
Barbara Z — Google review
Interesting experience very educating. The visits can only be done in guided groups but even on a busy day the wait was not too long. The experiments were fun. A lot of personal items of Tesla are on display. I do not recommend this museum for very young children since there’s a 15 min film and a small 20-30 min tour. They might get bored and interrupt the experience for others.
Zoe S — Google review
Not worth the visit. A lot of waiting for a video made in 2015. Explanation not in good English easy to understand. 60 people in each tour you cannot see things well. Not enough seats. I’ve learned more from him in science museums. You cannot pay by card!!! You have to pay cash and local currency!!! You cannot book and then a disappointment.

I went here on the 31/8/2025 and the street from what I’ve heard it’s supposed to be the best and most charming street in the country. The standards here must be very low because when I was here it was completely dead until 3:00 pm. Not a single soul on sight until late in the afternoon. The street was also extremely filthy with trash, vomit, feaces, urine and used syringes everywhere on the ground. It looked like it was never cleaned or in general taken care of in its life. When it got a bit lively it felt unsafe because it was full of pickpockets. It was extremely sad to see many people begging in the street. Some very young. It broke my heart and left me with a heavy heart my whole stay in Belgrade. A real shame

Nestled in the vibrant Vracar district of Belgrade, the Temple of Saint Sava stands as a monumental testament to Byzantine-inspired architecture. This 20th-century marvel is not only one of the largest Orthodox churches globally but also features an awe-inspiring central dome that dominates the skyline, making it a must-see for any traveler. Its grandeur and intricate design draw visitors from all corners, eager to experience its spiritual ambiance and historical significance.
It is one of the top attractions in the capital. It is massive and very peaceful. A very classic Cathedral of Orthodox religion. The top floor visually is breathtaking. The bottom floor is more like visual images on the walls. Make sure that you visit. Totally recommended.
Mustafa A — Google review
A mustsee when visiting Belgrade! This is truly one of the prettiest churches I’ve ever seen and that’s coming from someone who’s only seen churches in America and Mexico. Everywhere I turned, there was another piece of art to admire; it was deeply moving, especially with the soft singing in the background. Downstairs, there’s also a newer art exhibition that beautifully complements the main space. I loved seeing the attention to detail and the richness of the religious artwork throughout. Absolutely a spot you shouldn’t miss.
Emily B — Google review
Beautiful church inside and outside with many icons and an epicenter of Orthodox Christianity. If you are not knowledgeable of Serbia or Orthodox Christianity, would recommend a tour guide, especially if you are from a different culture. I visited many churches alone, but some tourists don't understand the history and a guide would be a good idea.
Spencer B — Google review
One of Belgrade’s most iconic landmarks, and in my opinion it deserves even more international recognition. The Temple of Saint Sava is one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, built on the site where Saint Sava’s relics were burned by the Ottomans in 1595. The idea to construct a grand church in his honor dates back to the 19th century, but the actual building process only began in 1935 and continued, through wars, occupations, and political changes, until the 21st century. The exterior is monumental, while the interior is truly breathtaking: golden mosaics, marble details, and a serene underground crypt that is worth visiting on its own. Easily accessible, beautifully illuminated at night, and one of the absolute must-see places in Belgrade.
Patrizia P — Google review
The most beautiful, The Church of Saint Sava is a Serbian Orthodox church in the Vračar plateau in Belgrade, Serbia. It is the largest Orthodox church in Serbia, one of the largest Eastern Orthodox churches and it ranks among the largest churches in the world. You woll be lost in its beauty once you are inside. I went here on the 31/8/2025 at 8:00 am sharp since I wanted to see the church without the crowds and I must say this place really disappointed me. The square in front of it it’s completely destroyed and the floor is shattered. It’s full of weeds, trash, faeces, urine and used syringes and it looked like it was never cared for or cleaned. In front to the entrance if the church there were many homeless people. Many young and many well past they nineties. It was so sad seeing those people coming to h crying and begging for food. It shattered my heart and left me with a heavy heart for my whole stay in Belgrade. The church is beautiful inside but it’s unfortunately not looked after properly. It was very crowded and there were pieces of trash and debris everywhere. It looked like it lacked maintenance and the staff wouldn’t stop staring at me and talking with themself while they were pointing at me and making obvious rude comments. It made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. If you are in Belgrade I suggest you coming here but beware it won’t be as you may expect it unfortunately. Such a shame

The fortress itself is divided into Upper and Lower City sections, each brimming with attractions like the iconic Victor Monument, Military Museum, Nebojsa Tower, and Saint Petka's Church.
Excellent spot to explore, discover and stroll. Get those steps in because you could easily do 10,000 just exploring the citadel alone. Add in other amusements like the museums, medieval sports and restaurants and you could make a fun day of it

Must vist place in belgrade serbia. The Fortress is a must visit when in the city. Originally built by the Romans in the 1st century AD, the fortress has seen countless empires rise and fall including Byzantine, Hungarian, Ottoman, and Austrian, each leaving its own mark. The Ottomans, who ruled Belgrade for nearly two centuries, rebuilt and expanded large parts of the fortress. You can still see traces of their presence in the design of the gates, the remains of the mosque near the Upper Town, and the general layout that reflects their military architecture. The surrounding Kalemegdan Park adds charm to the visit, offering shaded paths, sculptures, and views across the rivers. Key highlights within the fortress include the Victor Monument, and the Military Museum, which houses weapons from various periods of Serbian and Balkan. Great history, great view, great vepons

We went here on a walking tour of Belgrade. It is well laid out and provides a great setting to learn about the history of the area, city, and country. There are plaques throughout with some information but so much can be understood just by looking a the location to understand why it was a critical place for a fortification.

Cool views of the city, some armored vehicles on display at the gates, nothing too special. I liked reading the informative labels throughout the fortress, they were detailed. You can climb on some of the walls, other than that there are some basketball/tennis courts right outside that don’t really match the vibe.

Petrovaradin Fortress Walls Viewpoint, also known as "Gibraltar on the Danube," is a well-preserved citadel towering over the river. It was constructed between 1692 and 1780 using slave labor and has held notable prisoners throughout history. The fortress offers stunning views of Novi Sad and is home to the EXIT Festival. Visitors can explore tunnels within the complex for a unique experience, but should be cautious not to get lost.
A breathtaking place to see. The largest fortress in Europe that was according to my guide. On top, there are a lot of places where you can take a memorable picture that will last a lifetime. One of my favorite is taking pictures of the beautiful view of the country. The picture that I had on this place is the best. If your going to visit Serbia makes sure to add this to your itinerary. On the top of this there are restaurants and cafes if you suddenly feel of eating. Buying Souvenir is not gonna be a problem in this country because there are a lot vendors at the side of the street or parks where you can buy something from your friends and family. This place has no entrance fee needed it’s for free. From the city of Belgrade it takes around 1hr by car. Enjoy!

Petrovaradin Fortress Clock is unique because the function of the hour and minute hands were reversed for the purpose of the public serving more easily the large arm of the minute hands which was used to tell them what hour the time was because that was more important to the earlier civilians then the minutes of each hour. The fort originally had 4 levels underground and could house 4000 soldiers. The fort, however, was never involved in a war because invading armies win to Belgrade, 80 km away as it was a larger city.we drove arrives the fortress so not sure if there is much to see as the four levels have been turned over to artists.

It’s a must see sightseeing place! Historic monument, trademark of Petrovaradin Fortress & most amazing place from which you will be able to have breathtaking views towards Novi Sad and all the surrounding area! Interesting fact: Petrovaradin Fortress Clock is little different than any other: It is famous for its "reversed" hands: the long hand shows the hour and the short hand shows the minutes. It has temperature-sensitive accuracy, and manually wound mechanism. It was built around 1750 & it’s unique design was created for sailors on the Danube River. Definitely recommend visiting! Everything here is clean, beautiful & you have here plenty of little cafes and restaurants + small shops for your souvenirs!

The Petrovaradin Fortress Clock, located in Novi Sad, Serbia, is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city and a significant cultural and historical symbol. The Petrovaradin Fortress itself dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries and was built as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire's defensive system. The clock tower, known as the "Reversed Clock", is one of its most famous features. The clock was installed in the 18th century and is unique because its hour hand is larger than the minute hand—a reversal of the traditional design. This was done so that the time could be easily read by fishermen and other workers from a distance, especially on the Danube River. The clock tower is an elegant baroque-style structure, perfectly complementing the fortress's historic aesthetic. The clock face, with its black Roman numerals on a white background surrounded by golden borders, is striking and highly photogenic. The surrounding panoramic views of the Danube River and Novi Sad from the clock tower are breathtaking. - **Viewpoint**: It serves as a fantastic observation spot to take in the city skyline, the bridges over the Danube, and the sprawling urban landscape of Novi Sad. This fortress hosts the famous EXIT Festival too, that is the one of Europe’s largest music festivals The clock is affectionately called the **"Drunken Clock"** by locals because of its unusual hand reversal according to information online

One of Novi Sad’s most iconic landmarks! The Petrovaradin Fortress Clock is not just a beautiful photo spot, but also a charming piece of history. Its famous “reversed” hands—where the big hand shows the hours and the small hand shows the minutes—make it unforgettable. The view over the Danube and Novi Sad is breathtaking at any time of day, especially during sunset. The area is clean, safe, and full of atmosphere. A perfect place for a peaceful walk, great photos, and a moment to appreciate the city from above. Definitely a must-see when visiting Novi Sad!
Haydar L — Google review
Petrovaradin Fortress is a historic landmark with deep roots history of Novi Sad. Walking up to the top rewards you with one of the best panoramic views over Novi Sad and the Danube River. The iconic clock tower at the top is especially popular, not just for its reverse minute and hour hands, but also as a perfect photo spot. Getting around on foot gives the best experience, but be aware that some parts include many stairs and uneven paths. For older visitors or those with mobility issues, certain sections can be a bit tiring. The fortress hides charming cafés, museum and historic tunnels, and during the summer it becomes the heart of EXIT festival. Whether you’re into photography, history, or just enjoying a sunset, this place is a must-visit in Novi Sad.da l

Easily accessible by car or on foot by stairs and through the walls of the fortress, which is an immersing experience. The view is magnificent and there are cafés and restaurants that can make you enjoy the panoramic view of Novi Sad or you can just sit around and just enjoy.

It stretches from the iconic Petrovaradin Fortress to the Old Town and is a popular spot for both tourists and locals. I loved the architecture of the houses along the street a lot. You don't see such an old street everywhere in a Serbian city

Dunavska Street is one of the the most famous and visited place in Novi Sad. It was very close to where our river ship had docked on the banks of Danube. It has a lot of small colorful buildings in the entire street. It has got a lot of restaurants, bars, shops, galleries and confectioneries. The ambience is very relaxed here. One can chill around for ours. Not to be missed...

Dunavska Street is one of the most picturesque and historic streets in Novi Sad. The street is located in the very heart of the city, stretching from the main square, Trg Slobode (Freedom Square), to the Danube riverbank. Dunavska Street has a rich history, dating back to the 18th century. The street was named after the Danube river, which flows through the city, and it quickly became a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

Mystical passages, arcades, make this street even more mysterious. The street extends to the beautiful "Dunavski Park". In which there is a fusion of peace and tranquility, and yet in the very center of the city. Nearby is the Danube Quay. The perfect place for relaxation, walking, cycling, walking pets. AquaPark PetroLand

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Family-friendly water park with huge slides, a wave pool & a lazy river, plus saunas & massages.
Absolutely Loved it, lines sometimes can be very long. But the slides easily compensate for the long lines.
Petar O — Google review
I used to love coming here a few years ago, but sadly, this place has gone downhill. The pools, which were once pristine, are now extremely dirty. The water is so murky that you can’t even see the bottom anymore, and it’s clear that nothing has been maintained or renewed. To make matters worse, there’s debris floating around in the water, making the entire experience unpleasant. It’s really disappointing to see how much this place has deteriorated. It seems like there hasn’t been any investment in upkeep, and yet the prices just keep going up. What used to be a great spot for relaxation is now just a shadow of its former self.
Ellie — Google review
BEWARE OF COMING IN SUMMER 2024! We come here every here for a few years now. Every I liked it very much but this year is awful. The price is usually fair for so many slides and the food was always good. But the water quality is awful. I think there is no chlorine and the water was last changed in 2023. There is algae in every pool and I can look over it at the slides. But the lazy river and the wave pool is extremely green and green algae is swimming everywhere. Not only this, but because the water isn’t changed, there is also snot and other stuff swimming alongside you. 2 stars for the slides but I still wouldn’t come again with this water.
Tim — Google review
Nice place but expensive. There is not a single swimming pool. All pools are shallow. So if you are without a child this can be boring. Prices for 2025: Jelen beer 250 dinars, around 2.1€ Pljeskavica 650 a little bit pricey. Around 5.5€
Marko M — Google review
Nice place badly organized for food & beverage. It’s an hour waiting time for “fast food” (read “slow food”), with untrained very young people serving and inexperienced with no management around. Poor hygiene as food is touched with bare hands without gloves. Coffee served in a bar was “see through” and tasteless. Wanted another shot of coffee costed more (of course). Pizza waiting time was ridiculous 2h. So much unused space what could’ve saved people wasting time cueing. A lot to be worked on in order to make it a preferable visit place.

I only got these pictures because I didn't have time to take more lmao. It was so fun. There are many activities such as a total of 7 slides (also a separate area for kids), river simulator, wave simulator (where you wait for them to start for so long and also the water was sooo hot) and I think one relaxation pool. But the water was so dirty and kind of muddy. They are checking temperature when entering. Wearing a mask while you do so is a must. Price is around 10e and we could bring in our water and food, however, the food there is ok price. But to get the keys for the lockers was too expensive, so you either get your stuff stolen or you pay... Great place to have an amazing and fun day.

Museums
The Vučedol Culture Museum and Archaeological Site, located near Vukovar, showcases the ancient Vučedol Culture, known for creating Europe's first calendar and beer. The museum features state-of-the-art exhibits with animations depicting the settlement's golden age, graves, symbol-stamped ceramics, a Vucedol house replica, and curated skulls. It offers an educational experience about old cultures and the natives living near the Danube River.
A wonderfully organized and comprehensive museum about the first settlers to this region. Exhibits were described in both Croatian and English text. A must see if spending any time in Vukovar

Great museum depicting the Vučedol culture in tiny detail. A lot to learn and see, the exhibits are very well made after the models found on archeological sites. A must visit if you are interested in history! You can also walk down a few minutes beside the museum and get to the Danube.
Karlo Č — Google review
A very nice museum that leads you to various segments of life in Vucedol culture. It is also comforting that the front desk warns you that you are actually permitted to take and even share photos of the exhibits. The museum and the surrounding area have a potential for further interesting content to be added in the future. A bummer right now is that the site has no mobile network signal, but the rest is comfortable.
Miroslav J — Google review
A very interesting and organized museum that definitely worths a visit. It educates you about the Vucedol culture. Staff seemed to be serious and professional. Takes around 1.5 hours to visit it. It has a souvenir shop as well. 👍 It had a bit of room for improvement. Adding a small cafe would be a great improvement so visitors can grab some snacks. Adding audio guide would be definitely a great improvement as well. Outside paths were still under construction seemed so? Hopefully will be finalized soon!

Really interesting museum, well presented, great natural flow from room to room, thoughtful layout to help focus on one topic at a time. Our visit was hugely boosted by our outstanding local guide, a young woman named Romina, who is an absolute all-star, insanely knowledgeable, patient and super witty with a charming personality that won over our entire group. She made it go from good to great. Definitely recommend this museum.

Wonderful, interesting, and affordable small museum. High quality souvenirs in their shop. Grounds were under construction Sept 2025 I had hoped for a little more in terms of a walk down to the Danube afterwards is all.

Beautiful modern museum … is step free so you can accommodate a wheelchair or pushchair. The place is not that big but is very interesting. Nice piece of history to learn in here. The price is €6 most of the information are in Croatian and English. They have a car park. If you want to visit the outdoor of the museum bring some flat shoes or trainers.. we aware the museum does not have lots of ornaments is more about history.

Beautiful place. There was no crowd at all as it was a weekday day and >35c. Had some food and drinks as we were passing through Bijeljina. Good food. Prices are alright.

The food in the restaurant is delicious, home-made, fresh, traditional and modern mix. The service is fast and friendly. Even though it's extremely popular it's not too expensive: you get good value for the money. It's just overwhelmed with museum content. They need much larger area to spread the exponats around.
Ana M — Google review
Absolutely magical experience! From the moment we arrived, Etno Selo Stanišići felt like a warm embrace—authentic, beautifully maintained, and run by people who genuinely care. The atmosphere blends tradition and comfort in the best possible way: cozy rooms, spotless grounds, and food that tastes like home. But what truly won us over was how family-friendly everything is. Our kids could relax and explore while we enjoyed a calm, unhurried pace—exactly what a family getaway should be. I especially want to praise their commitment to the regional “Friends of Family” project (Prijatelji porodice). Etno Selo Stanišići isn’t just a venue that welcomes families—it actively supports and promotes family values through this initiative. You can feel that support in the way staff greet you, the thoughtful touches for parents and children, and the genuine respect for large families. As someone involved with and passionate about “Friends of Family,” it means a lot to see a partner that doesn’t treat it as a slogan, but as a living practice. If you’re looking for a place where tradition meets heartfelt hospitality—and where families are truly celebrated—this is it. Top recommendation!

Srebrenica Memorial Center - Potocari

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Sometimes it's hard for your brain to get your head around numbers so while 8000 people can seem a lot when you see 8000+ headstones for as far as the eye can see it really hits home to how many people it is. Across the road from the memorial is the main museum. Hasan who oversees it all gave an in-depth talk about what happened and what he did to survive. The museum is new and very extensive and really helps you understand what happened. It must be very difficult to have to talk about it all the time but he really brought to life how it felt to live through this. If you want to do solo this is how I did it. There is 1 bus a day that goes and returns from Sarajevo. The bus leaves Sarajevo at 7:10am from platform 11 of main bus station next to the railway station. It is 39.90 marka return, about 25 one way. The bus took around 3 and 1/2 hours to arrive. The driver was friendly and dropped me right outside the memorial in Potacari. The return bus leaves Srebrenica at 4:30pm and Bratunac at 4:40pm. Bratunac bus station is actually closer to the memorial than Srebrenica so ironically there is no actual need to visit the town of Srebrenica. You will get into Sarajevo around 8pm. I really recommend visiting here if you get a chance and learning about 1 of the worst events in post war Europe.
Robert C — Google review
One of the most important places in the history of contemporary Europe. Not far from Srebrenica and Potocari. Extensive, well-structured area covered with white obelisks, which are the tombstones of the victims of the genocide of 1995. New tombstones are constantly appearing (the remains are still identified). On the opposite side of the road there are factory halls where Dutch soldiers were stationed. Today they are a photo gallery. This place is still being created and all the more so it makes a terrifying impression.

Getting here is a little difficult but it's a must visit if you're in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The memorial for those who were massacred by the serbian forces in July 1995. If you are coming from Sarajevo you had several options : 1)Take the bus from Sarajevo to Srebenica and ask the driver to drop you off at the memorial (you will pass it on your way to Srebenica. The memorial is about 5km from the town). There's one bus daily from Sarajevo which leaves at 0710 with the return at 1630 but it takes 4-5 hours. 2) go with private shuttle tours, which will cost around €60 per person and there's a minimum amount of passengers required. 3) drive. I did this option and I recommend the route through sokolac. Easy route to drive, but you will need to navigate through two mountains with sharp turns. Drive defensively and you will be fine. Also its a long drive through srpska territory so all the signs are in Cyrillic.

I am speechless............ and there is no STAR that I can rate this complex. I wish there were not GENOCIDE, but it did happen. Who EVER say that it didn't happen, please go to Srebrenica and feel the pain of thousands of white tomb stones standing proudly on their motherland.

I'm absolutely speechless after seeing this place. The emotions were and are strong even if I just think about what happened here. Everyone should visit this place to understand what hate can cause, how many lives it can take.
Adéla T — Google review
I brought a small group of university students from the United States to visit Srebrenica Genocide Memorial as part of a spring break study away course covering war, genocide, peace & reconciliation. Srebrencia Genocide Memorial is not merely a museum but a living memorial, honoring the memory of thousands while imparting invaluable lessons for generations to come. In a world where the echoes of hatred still reverberate, places like Srebrenica Genocide Memorial serve as beacons of light, reminding us of the power of remembrance, empathy, and education in combating darkness. If you have the opportunity, I implore you to visit this remarkable institution and bear witness to one of history's most profound lessons. The Memorial’s design is a testament to thoughtful curation, seamlessly guiding visitors through the harrowing events of the Srebrenica genocide. Each exhibit is painstakingly arranged to evoke raw emotion, ensuring that the atrocities committed are not just recounted but felt. From photographs capturing the despair of the people, to personal belongings serving as haunting reminders of lives lost (the shoe art instillation is haunting), every artifact serves as a poignant reminder of the human cost of hatred and intolerance. In conclusion, our experience at the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial was nothing short of exceptional. If you have the opportunity, please visit this remarkable institution.

I found it's hard to hold the tears when visied the cemetery. There's also a museum across the cemetery. We did not know about it first. When we came to the building (it's an ex factory building), it's locked, although they're dispalying the opening hours. We walked to the security office and have them opened the museum. Some photos hang on the wall. About the Srebrenice tragedy. :( Srebrenica can be reach by bus from Sarajevo. There's a bus in the morning. But to come to Potocari memorial site you must a taxi.

Built in 1577, this arch stone bridge was designed by famed Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan.
What an amazing bridge!!! So cool to see such a beautiful creation in person. It’s a lovely town & there’s a great lookout at the top of a nearby hill. Highly recommend topping to admire this piece of architecture!! Cool chair at the top of the hill as well. Worth the 3 min walk.

I advise you to hire a local guide to tell you the story of the bridge and this town. There is so much to hear and learn about this town and its historical facts. You have a zip line near the bridge that goes over the Drina river, there are small boats for 30min up to 2h+ tours with local guides. As expected in this country you will enjoy food and coffee ☕
