The museum inside the castle is amazing has many historical artifacts. The castle is small in size when it is compared with other castles in Italy but rich in history.

Amazing. Much more to see than expected. Entrance fee is not expensive! Castle is beautifull. Museum even more. Although, castle is under maintenance construction works, if you are close to Melfi, absolutely recommend to visit. Don't skip the museum.

Very friendly staff, one of them gave us a talk and explanation in english and then we were free to wander around. Good exhibitions inside and amazing finds on display. Well worth a visit!

It was ok, a little underwhelming. It has been extremely renovated due to an earthquake so the interior doesn't feel very castle like.

I went to melfi for a school trip, it was very nice! The city is very beautiful and very clean, then we went to the castle of Frederick II where there are many tombs, including a child with toys, a woman with kitchen utensils and jewels and a man with some weapons

The Duomo di Salerno is a beautiful and historic cathedral that is absolutely worth a visit. Built in the 11th century by Robert Guiscard and dedicated to Saint Matthew, whose relics are preserved here, it is one of the most important churches in southern Italy. The entrance through the courtyard with its arches and columns already sets a special atmosphere before you reach the main interior. Inside, the cathedral is elegant and rich in history, with impressive mosaics, chapels, and the crypt of Saint Matthew, which is truly striking. When we visited in the afternoon, there were surprisingly few people, which made the experience even more enjoyable and allowed us to really take in the details in peace. A must-see in Salerno for both history and architecture lovers.

It is worth the trip. If you go to Salerno by cruise ship, take the ferry one way and take the bus another way to Amalfi. You can definitely go further places, but Amalfi was beautiful. It is an expensive place for drinks, deserts, etc. but hey you are on vacation, live a little

My friend and I arrived here a half hour before the crypt closed Friday night. Definitely go closer to closing as there was almost no one there and made for better photos in the ASTOUNDING crypt. For a fiver, this was SO worth it. I’ve only seen a crypt this spectacular at St Francis Monastery in Assisi. Absolutely mind-blowing Baroque work. We spent 20 minutes JUST in the crypt taking photos. The nave on the other hand is quite simple but has a gorgeous mosaic and there is also a lovely tomb right outside the crypt exit. The online guide you scan via a QR code is very helpful as there is no other info around to guide what you’re looking at.

We visited on a weekday, and fortunately, due to lunchtime, the church was nearly empty, making it incredibly easy for us to take pictures and then sit and relax in the tranquility of the environment. The marble work was exceptional, and the artistic details were simply stunning.

One of the most beauiful places ive been to. Up above the Amalfi Coast with outstanding views this small town has it all. The gardens are spectacular and we were lucky enough to have room to move having visited off season in March. The skies cleared and the only word for it is Wow. In my opinion it leaves the coast for dead, a lot quieter and a lot to see and do. Cafes are great and our hotel Lolanda was amazing. I cant stress how important it is to take a little time and go off the beaten track up to this place. Visit all the gardens at the top and you wont be disappointed.

Must visit, but try earlier than in the evening, as the sun goes away from 4 pm in October. Sunsets are amazing though. And in October there are not so many flowers and colors like in summer pictures, but still nice. The house is unfortunately empty, and there’s not much to do.

It very beautiful up here. we visited this place in Sept 2023 during our Amalfi coast tour. It is a trek to get to but when you get here you will be greeted with spectacular views! I can get busy at peak times but it is beautiful. The gelato from the small cafe is absolutely worth the walk. Definitely recommended.

Extremly beautiful villa, gardens and view. The ticket was 8 euros, no line, we got to experience the place all by ourselves, maybe because it is off season (november 2025, monday). We got to see the garden with winter flowers, but still extremly beautiful.

Villa Rufolo was such a hidden gem here in Ravello. Really enjoyed the small room showing the videos and giving some history of the place which helped color a beautiful picture of music, history, and brilliant views. I highly recommend making a stop here if you are visiting Ravello. My best advice, take a scooter to the top of this hill instead of this bulky busses, you’ll be happy you did!

Villa Rufolo is a must - see hot spots destination for anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast. A real hidden gem on the Amalfi Coast and one of my favorite place to see it. This is nature’s artwork on display . A very impressive, stunning place with a unique color of the spirits, worth all the raves about it. Worth spending a day here soaking in the ambience, surrounded by incredible scenery, pure natural peaceful, beautiful masterpieces of gardens and magnificent spectacular breathtaking views from every corner. It’s a truly enchanting and experience visiting this beautiful place There is beauty around every bend. Serenity in every view!!! Simply breathtaking!!!

I was hoping to visit la Rondinaia in Ravello but, as this is not possible, visited Villa Cimbrone instead. Yes, the entry fee of 10euros per person was rather stiff and yes the lady at the ticket counter made being rude a matter of principal, her calling. We are but vulgar tourists to be tolerated if we are lucky. That being said, everybody else was thoroughly charming and wonderful. The gardens are stunningly beautiful and manicured beyond belief. It is a huge pleasure to wander through and the views are breath-taking. Just like the rest of the Amalfi coast, just more so. We came across the villa restaurant (not the Michelin star one) by chance and had the most wonderful meal of our stay in Italy! The food was amazing, the service impeccable and the view I have already written about. My wife and I can't wait to go back!

Going to the city Amalfi brings you close to Ravello. When you bring a car, make the trip to Ravello. Parking is a small disaster. Stroll thought the village centre which has a nice sqaure and walk in about 10 minutes to Villa Cimbrone. Youo nly need to visit the garden. There is a beautiful view over de Amalfi coast on a terrace called Terrazza dell'Infinito. In the garden is a small bar with the famous balcony. Enjoy.

However, over time, the villa fell into disrepair and became a ruin. In 1904, Ernest William Beckett, later known as Lord Grimthorpe, discovered the property. A wealthy and eccentric Englishman, he fell in love with Villa Cimbrone and decided to restore it. Collaborating with local builder Nicola Mansi, he rebuilt the villa in a mix of Moorish, Venetian, and Gothic styles, incorporating elements from across Italy. This restoration led to the beautiful, almost dreamlike villa we see today. During Beckett's ownership, Villa Cimbrone became a retreat for many notable writers, artists, and thinkers, including Virginia Woolf, E.M. Forster, Winston Churchill, and Greta Garbo. Today, the Vuilleumier family owns the villa. They have preserved its historic beauty and transformed it into a charming hotel, renowned for its stunning Terrace of Infinity and serene gardens. Although we did not stay at the hotel and cannot comment on its services, the gardens are open to visitors who wish to explore the beautiful scenery. We enjoyed a leisurely hour-long walk around the property, which also features a café for all visitors.

Simply an unparalleled, life-affirming experience! The Terrace of Infinity offers the best sea + nature view I have ever witnessed anywhere in the world. It is truly an experience that words fail to capture. The entire villa grounds and park are stunning and perfectly maintained, making the whole visit an absolute must-do! and as a bonus, its a starting point for the most scenic down-hikes to Atrani (lots of stairs though)

The villa has absolutely breathtaking views — you can see the entire Amalfi Coast from above! It’s surrounded by beautiful nature, lovely gardens, and charming little vegetable patches and flowers. Everything is just perfect and so picturesque!

we were just here to visit the garden. but I would definitely think about staying at the hotel too. the garden is absolutely worth the entrance fee of euro 10. there are many places to sit, enjoy, reflect and look around.

Absolutely unbelievable!! One of the most excellent places on the planet!! The story behind the establishment of this villa is unbearably romantic and that energy permeates the entire estate. There are places to eat at both ends of the gardens,which is great because we really did work up an appetite while strolling the gardens. We spent around 5 hours wandering through the gardens and many rooms, crypts and galleries. Really well worth the visit!!

Beautiful spot for a walk in the woods! We enjoyed a pleasant visit to the falls and viewed some wonderful fall scenery along the way. Some other Italian groups out for the same… made for a great outing! The signs are pretty old and impossible to read, so no way to “plan” the walk and route. Hence, 4 stars. Otherwise really nice!

Una delle cascate prima della piu grande è quella che lascia di stucco: da una grande roccia semitonda, ricoperta di erbetta, colano infiniti rivoli d'acqua. Ideale per mettersi sotto (temperatura dell'acqua permettendo) e rinfrescarsi dalla calura. Ammetto che l'ultimo chilometro di Stradina per arrivare al luogo è un saliscendi che mette a dura prova freni e frizione...

We had a wonderful tour with wonderful guid named Mario. The cave is beautiful and interesting and the surroundings are beautiful too!

The caves are absolutely amazing, huge caverns with stunning formations, well worth the visit! The guides however, did not impress.... We could not understand any of the information, not being fluent in Italian...they made no effort to find out if we could understand... Also seemed very rude when communicating instructions and directions... Very disappointing!

Beautiful stalactite cave. If you drive between airports in rome or naples and calabria, then this is a nice midpoint place to rest 1 hour. If you can time it with the guided tours. What is special about this cave is you enter the cave by boat. At first we was a bit disappointed, the first half was not beautiful but then the cave became amazing and the last half was full of Stalactites and stalagmites. We like this cave.

Impressive place and a lot of history here. 5 euro for parking, 18 euro for an adult and 13 euro 6-15 yrs. Family tickets available. There is a new tour once pr. Hour. Italien guide. If you’re only English speaking you can for 1 euro buy an audio guide. Around one hour tour first by boat and then walking. Bring a coat or long sleeves. You can pay by card for tickets. If you want something to drink afterwards in the bar only cash here.

Beautiful cave to visit. There is also a small boat ride included. Be on time, otherwise you will not be allowed to join the tour.

Natural caves in the hart of Alburni mountains. You navigate 200mt on a river, than you walk for about 1km, looking at marvelous formations, listening to water falling down from the top of 20 Mt high halls. Spectacular and highly recommended!

Inside the park so kinda weird that there’s a separate Google listing for each temple when you pay once to visit them all. Plus, how would you rate one temple fewer stars than the others? They’re all over 2,000 years old still standing! I’m struck by how perfectly level and straight the columns and flooring blocks are. Shows fantastic engineering and planning and site prep.

Don't miss Paestum. We arrived just as they closed the gates, but the views from outside the fences were so good we almost didn't go back the next morning. What a mistake that would have been. Upclose access to wellpreserved temples, and acres of tumbled ruins of lesser homes and palaces.

We got free entry as it was a national Republic day then. The temple complex is huge. The archaeology remains appear much grand than in pictures. However still in good shape particularly the temple of Neptune. I would suggest to buy a booklet giving information and it has nice illustrations about how this place must have looked in its heydays. A very impressive archeological park that we stumbled upon whilst motor biking from Diamanté to Salerno. Well worth the €15 ticket - the park is well maintained and well organised. Plenty of parking available and some nearby food options. It’s ideal to park at the exit, closer to Temple of Athena, and walk up to the entrance. Allow at least one hour, more if you visit the museum which is included in the ticket price.

This place is far more interesting than you expect. We were here for about 3 hours. The museum is informative. Once you are on the actual site it seems wrong to be able to walk all over the sites of the buildings. Beautiful mosaics are left open to the elements. Some visual representation of what the buildings may have looked like would have been useful. Excellent value for money. Signage around the site is poor though

A beautiful place to visit and get up and close to the Ancient Artifacts.

I love ancient sites, I've been lucky enough to see plenty of these throughout the countries around the Med. But this Paestum one, it's really something! The park is so beautiful with majestic trees everywhere, its roman ruins and, obviously, those breathtaking ancient greek temples of Hera and Athena. If you're a history enthusiast, you can't miss that one!

While getting there isn't the easiest journey, the reward is well worth the effort. Hard to put into words. If you’re a history lover, Paestum is a must. The ancient Greek temples are breathtaking, and walking through the ruins feels like stepping back in time. It’s peaceful, fascinating, and well worth the visit. You should also visit the nearby Museum as part of the tour, it’s fascinating.

We loved this stop, came here on an excursion from our cruise ship that docked in Salerno. Great ruins, fascinating. Greek & Roman ruins. Hot in the sun, bring water, not much shade while walking the ruins. Wayside signs explained what you were looking at in English.

***CLOSED ON MONDAYS FROM 20 OCTOBER TO 15 DECEMBER*** I would like to give 1 star because they do not have this information anywhere on the website. I returned on a different day and had a great visit hence the 3/5. Dozens of tourists (myself included) arrived on a Monday and had no choice but to leave disappointed. It’s incredibly disrespectful to those that come from all over the world to see this beautiful piece of cultural heritage. —— Easily accessible by train from Naples. The Paestum train station is a 10 minute walk away. Also easily accessed by car. Your ticket includes access to the archeological museum (across the street) and to the archeological site of Velia (45 km south). This archeological site is incredible. It’s not overrun with tourists and the temples are very well preserved. There are plaques and signs with explanations in Italian and English. The park has two entrances, but only one of them sells tickets and had a gift shop. If you want to enter via the other entrance, you will be told to purchase your ticket at the museum. A truly special place that is a must see when visiting the region.

This was amazing! Can’t recommend this enough, you ‘fly’ across the ravine, spectacular views, such an exhilarating experience (and I don’t even like heights!) The staff were so kind and helpful, organising Go Pro (€20) and there were photos too (€8) and they even took some on my phone before we ‘took off’! (take cash as it’s easier for the team)

Don’t miss this thrill! What a rush! Transform yourself to Superman for a couple of minutes with incredible views! Highly recommend. A bit of a language barrier if you don’t speak Italian, but they tried very hard!

Amazing zipline, really does feel like flying! You have to go to the ticket office in town first so go here rather than the other locations which are the launch sites. Very steep path up to the launch site although there's a bus that takes you most of the way. Price is very reasonable.

Unforgettable experience practiced several times. Really breathtaking .. everything is located in an incredibly small but breathtaking village. I recommend everyone even a visit to the place !!!

The zip line experience was great. The village itself is beautiful I do recommend this activity, however the ladies at the ticket zip line reception was incredibly rude. No good communication and rubbish customer service. We came 2 hours early to the check-inn as we was already in the area because we had taken part in another activity. We wanted to see if there was availability for another ticket. Anyone with common sense would know that the reason we went early to the check-inn was because if we went later we would risk there being no tickets left. They made us wait several minutes outside with no updates and told us we had to come back at the time of our booking to see if there was any spare tickets which is quite stupid as if we came later we would risk others taking any tickets that were left. As we was still waiting outside and being rudely spoken to they allowed a family of 3 with no tickets to go in before us even though we was there before them. At this point we went back in and told them this was ridiculous and unacceptable in which case one of the women decided to argue with us that we was wrong for coming early to get an extra ticket and told us that if we wanted to come 2 hours in advance for a spare ticket we might aswell have come a whole day before?! And that “you should just have booked it online”. Who is she to tell me how to book my tickets. In fact we did try to book another last minute ticket however the site kept crashing and if booking tickets online was the case then she could have told the family of 3 to also book online. What a cheeky cheeky women speaking to customers in such a way.

This was so much fun and could not have been more beautiful. We appreciated the relaxed pace and even enjoyed the 25min hike to the first zipline.

Amazing experience! We truly recommed this flight! The stuff is very kind and highly professional. After you buy your flight online, you come to the Castelmezzano village to the ticket office - Biglietteria. You have to meet the weight requirements, so they measure your weight. Then you go to the parking place in front of tourist info point and wait for the shuttle bus. Bus takes you as high as the road goes, then you walk about 20 minutes further high the path to the Castelmezzano starting station. You fly to the other hill, near Pietrapertosa. Other bus takes you to Pietrapertosa and after cca 10 minutes walk you reach another starting point and you fly back to Castelmezzano. All this is included in price you pay when you book the flight. Pictures from your flight can be purchased after first flight and you can rent GoPro camera at the first starting point. After both flights you get memory card with videos from both of your flights. We had 2x couple flights with our childrens 13 and 10 years old, it was fantastic, the stuff works precisely with all safety precautions. Once more many thanks, when in Basilicata, we will come back again!!! 👍👍👍😉

More than wonderful!! Very preserved, incredible paintings and art all around Certosa. For me, much better than the vatican museum, because besides beatiful it is a quiet and peacefull place.

Awesome monastery in the town of Padula in Salerno province. It's a standing evidence of remarkable architecture. It's huge and spread across thousands of square meter area. It also encompasses a history artifact museum where artifacts from 2nd century B.C. are put on display. Inside, you first get introduced to monastery life by a walk through the cellars where you see multiple video sequences explaining everything you need to know. Afterwards, entering the main monastery, you get greeted by the first of three cloisters. Through the church, kitchens, meeting rooms and chapels, it all leads up to the highlight of the visit, the monumental cloister, which is bigger than a football field. Throughout the cartheuse, there are many interesting artworks and stone cuttings for the people who care. Overall, the Certosa is a must visit if you are in the region.

This was our second time visiting this water park and it would be our last time. The staff are very rude. I was not allowed to go on the slide with my phone and the cover. It was Friday, end of July and it was good amount of people... Lines for the slides were very short (max 10 minutes) and there was the possibility to do slides also note than once. It is advised to go during the week (mon-fri) or not in August, otherwise there is the risk that the lines for the slides are too long and it is gonna be difficult to enjoy the park. There is both a good area for children and a good area for adults. The staff working in the park is young, very kind and helpful.

Santuario di San Francesco di Paola is a glorious shrine to the revered saint of Calabria located over a gorge in the hills above Paola with magnificent views over the Tyrrhenian Sea.the church itself is quite simple inside but with a stunning gothic facade and a beautiful terrace and ample parking. Adjacent to the old church is a spectacular new chapel where a lot of services are held . They also allow you to view their fabulous hand carved presepi, the nativity scenes with unbelievably carved figures in glorious colours which are displayed to the public at Christmas and Easter.

Great place with several churches dedicated to St. Francesco di Paola. Contemporary church is very unusual.

It is not your standard church visit but you get these sculptures all in the rocks behind the church facade. Because of the mass of people my rating is lower which is a shame given how beautiful this place really is.

A really unique beach with soft white sand tucked under the cliffs where the town of Tropea sits. The views are amazing, with dramatic cliffs all around, and there’s even a beach inside a big cave! You’ll see lots of people cliff jumping too. The water near the shore was a bit murky, but once you swim out, it’s crystal clear and beautiful. It can get super crowded during peak times and really hot since there’s not much shade—definitely bring sun protection. Still, it’s a stunning place and totally worth a visit.

Be sure to visit the basilica as well as the Greek historical ruins and talk to the kind local shop keepers as well! If you want to know more about the Black Madonna within Christianity I highly recommend you read Jean Hani’s book “The Black Virgin: A Marian Mystery” before going to Tindari so you can fully appreciate what you are experiencing there!

Most Beautiful Chapel on the Island! Quite possibly the most beautiful chapel I have ever seen. I can’t imagine how long this must have taken to build. It is so ornate throughout. From the amazing stained glass to the marble floors to the most beautiful mosaics I’ve ever seen. This would have been difficult anywhere, but you add the fact that it is on top of a giant mountain from centuries ago? No idea how they did this. And it’s gorgeous on the outside as well, with an incredible view. If you only get to visit one chapel in Sicily, make it this one! Absolutely worth your time (you can even visit the Roman ruins next door). Also, there’s free parking part way up and a bit of a walk to the chapel. Be prepared to walk through several vendors, but I recommend getting some flavored peanuts to make the rest of your day more flavorful.

The promenade is wide and beautiful, but what makes it truly breathtaking is the stunning view of Mount Etna in the background across the strait to Sicily. The area is clearly the heartbeat of the city and is always buzzing with great energy. During our visit, it seemed like there was always something happening, from a gelato festival to live music, which added to the fantastic atmosphere. My advice is simple: take a long walk, find a good restaurant with a sea view, and just enjoy the incredible sunset and the wonderful vibes. A must-do experience when in Reggio Calabria.

The Lungomare Falcomara in Reggio Calabria is a wonderful place to visit. You can enjoy a relaxing walk along the sea with beautiful views and fresh air. In the evenings, the promenade comes alive — it’s full of people, music, and a lively atmosphere. There are plenty of benches to sit and watch the sunset, as well as cafés and gelaterias nearby. It’s a perfect spot both for a peaceful stroll during the day and for enjoying the vibrant energy of the city at night.

⭐ A truly extraordinary site. The Ancient Theatre of Taormina is stunning — its size, location, and breathtaking views make it unforgettable. The setting is fantastic, especially with the sunlight shining through the old stone arches, creating a magical atmosphere. The ticket price is around €14–15 per person, which may feel a bit high, but it’s worth it. We planned to stay for a short visit and ended up spending about an hour, simply because the place is so peaceful and makes you want to linger. A must-see in Taormina. 🌿

Brilliant piece of history and still in use today. Not overly priced and the views are fabulous on a good day. We spent 2 hrs going around in the late afternoon so it wasn't too busy or to the point, too hot. Take a breather and soak up all the beauty that surrounds you and watch as the stage hands prepare for the evenings musical event. So glad we did it and would recommend it to you all while here in this beautiful part of Sicily.

One of the most stunning ancient sites I have ever visited, with fantastic views over the Ionian Sea. We had a guided tour which I would thoroughly recommend as it was really interesting to understand a more in depth history of the site compared to the information boards on site. Our tour guide was an archaeologist and her enthusiasm for the subject was palpable. Great cafe/bar on site with great views and draft beer!

At 16 Euro entry its an absolute steal. If you enjoy history and unbelievably stunning views you cannot go wrong. It is probably the most photographed spot in Sicily. Carved into a natural amphitheatre there was 5400 spectator seats. Built in the Hellenistic style in the 3rd century BC with Later Roman additions. Also referred to as the Greek theatre due to this part of Sicily at the time being a Greek colony.

Another must see place to put onto the list when visiting Sicily. Greek theatre is an atmosphere of ancient ruins with great views over the city of Taormina, Ionian sea and mount Etna. The price was €16 per adult, it was quite quiet, not overcrowded - maybe because we were there right at opening just after 9am, and it was November. But even then weather was great. Fantastic views!

However, the prices are steep - we paid almost $50 for a family visit that lasted only 15 minutes. On the plus side, there's a convenient free shuttle from the parking area, and the walk to the attraction isn't too long. We visited with a stroller and toddler, and managed okay. Long line to buy tickets, original website didn’t work for me to buy tickets in advance.

Nice to visit just to sit on top of the sitting area and enjoy remarkable view towards the stage with panoramic view on Mount Etna in the background. The designers knew their job back then in 300 BC.

This city park is really lovely and very pleasant to walk around. There’s plenty of space with wide paths and lots of benches, perfect for sitting and enjoying the surroundings. The greenery is beautiful, a mix of palm trees and regular trees, and in the late afternoon when the sun starts to set, it looks especially nice. There are small fountains with fresh drinking water, several decorative fountains, and even a historic building adding some charm. There’s also an outdoor gym with various exercise machines, though a few of them are slightly damaged. A few small vendors sell ice cream, drinks, or snacks. From some spots in the park you can enjoy views of the rocks and the sea. There’s a playground for children and overall it’s quiet and peaceful, a great place to relax and spend time outdoors.

Wonderful place! Such tall cacti there so beautifully placed. We took a lot of pictures and the sea view was amazing. Totally worth to come back to Taormina.

The park was stunning. We made sure to dine close by so we could wander back after nightfall and experience it in a different light. Darkness didn’t make it unsettling—it felt timeless, almost like walking through a preserved moment in history.

The Villa Comunale, Taormina is a beautiful gem tucked away that we came across while wondering through the city. It is filled with so much history and serenity. It's so calming and quiet. My boys even played on the little playground in the middle of the park. Picturesque ocean views can be seen at certain points and there are tons of photo opportunities throughout. A great family place to just stroll through after the hustle and bustle of the center city to gather ones self before dinner or even early in the morning. This is a must see on your itinerary.

Wonderful park on walking distance fron the center of taormina. Beautiful large trees and lots of cozy benches and shadow places to escape the heating sun. The view is amazing too. There are a few old buildings that remain from the english garden era. Also there is a great playground for the youngsters among us. The park is very well maintained.

It's a good drive 3/4 of the way up then cable car then guided tour. We didn't go further up as a we were in a thunder rain cloud when we got up there so decided to go back as viability was poor. Recommend you go when the weather is good and clear which I am assured it normally is

A must if you’re in Catania! Warm clothes, windbreaker and long pants are recommended for mid October visit. Be aware of the terrain, the climb will get your shoes and clothes ashy, especially descending where there’s “volcanic sand”

Absolutely MUST BE in SICILY! The Iconic Etna Volcano is a place definitely worth visiting. You can take a hike but it's also accessible for everyone by cable car to the high of 2500m, then you can take 4x4 bus to about 2800m. From there rest of the trip have to be done by foot. But views are the reward! Especially when you can look at the clouds below where you are. Best consider going in good weather condition and good visibility to get best of it!

A must do if here! We only went to 2,500 but you can get a bus to 3000 ! Great views and getting cable car up makes it so much easier. Tip don’t wear white sneakers (trainers). Also check weather as can get cold! If we had longer we would have gone to top. Plenty of parking.

Spectacular! Tip; wear a hoody, and maybe also a scarf even, so that you can cover most of your head and face, as there can be very strong winds and the lava sand is quite sharp. Trip to the top is definitely worth it, spectacular views!!

Pictures don’t do justice! You’ll have to go on one or the tours to visit Mt Etna to view and experience this iconic volcanoes! At the end of the tour we were taken to an area to view one of the most incredible sunsets! Mount Etna is a dominant feature of northeastern Sicily and the highest active volcano in Europe, reaching an elevation of around 10,900 feet (3,320 meters), although its height can fluctuate due to eruptions.

The Cathedral of Acireale is a beautiful example of Sicilian gothic and it is located in the Piazza Duomo. You can climb up to the bell tower, where you can have a nice overview of the surrounding area. The paintings may look a bit dark, but if have the possibility to enlight them with just one coin. There's a nice example of sundial near the altar. Definitely to be visited if you are in the area.

The church is beautiful 🤩 2.50€ to climb the 80 steps to the tower above. 1 € for children. The inside is large.

This church is on one side of the main square. The façade is in the Sicilian baroque style. Unfortunately it wasn't open when we passed by on a Friday lunchtime in early May. Apparently there's a sundial inside and the frescoes are very nice. People say the decoration is pious and ornate . They are full of admiration looking down the central nave from above, which you pay for. You can on the same ticket go up the bell tower. Carnival passes by here.
