Platja De Gava

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Busy beach with a lengthy expanse of sand & shallow water attracting families with children.
A beautiful, endless sandy beach that stretches for miles in both directions. The sea has a pleasant temperature, perfect for cooling off, and the waves are just right…not too high, not too calm. We went in July. There’s a nice café on the beach where you can grab a refreshing drink. However, there are too few umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, and unfortunately, access with a stroller is very difficult. We had to carry ours down to the beach. A proper ramp, especially near the café, would be a big improvement.

I just tried to walk. I thought I would have a nice time walking around sunset time. But it was horrible and not safe.
Elena M — Google review
Clean beach. Very close to Barcelona Direct bus from Barcelona and T10 ticket works. Less crowded as compared to Barcelona beach. Designated beach zones specially for kite and wind surfing during autumn and winter season. Good restaurants at the beach. Train station around 1 km far. No public toilets. We encountered many jelly fishes during summer.
Pritesh D — Google review
It's Monday evening and there are petards bombing all around. We are staying in the apartment by the beach and the kids feel scared and don't understand what is going on. I saw a kid walking from the beach crying and holding his hand, probably got hurt by a petard?.. We saw adult people together with small kids queuing to buy petards in the town.. You can see the police from time to time passing by on the pedestrian walk trying to manage those who are selling t-shirt.. The beach is long and quite mainstream. It's nice to be in the warm sun, the kids love warm water, the sand is nice. We even saw a couple of rabbits hopping in the protected area along the beach! But the petards... it's not necessarily our type of atmosphere, unfortunately...
Lina G — Google review
Beautiful long stretch of sand but the water is incredibly dirty, foam and plastic and oily spots. (06.09.25) No shows for feet and toilets are only in restaurants. We tried to go further along the beach with the same result.
Svetlana D — Google review
If your are beach person and like it quiet it’s the place to go
Jahnavi G — Google review
Nice long beach usually clean with good slow access to the sea. Especially good for families with small kids. There are showers, restrooms and few restaurants along the beach.
Jan P — Google review
It's absolutely gorgeous sand-beach area with nature conservation areas and long pedestrian waking path. Unfortunately all the beaches are completely dog-prohibited not even just during the swimming season but for 365 days. And it seems to be not only due to fact that governments can't or perhaps even don't want wisely regulate or partly change local dog-politc but also due to local common opinion and attitude to the dogs being some kind of hygienic issue.. Which seems especially absurdly at the beaches where is a lot of seagalls and pigeons who definitely don't make those places sterile. And historically they have never caused non of known epidemics. Furthermore ironically they helped people quite a lot out non else but in Spain to get outside during the Covid-lockdowns. Logic is out.

Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey

Abbey
Sights & Landmarks
Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, located in Catalonia, is a renowned monastery established in 1025 to honor the visions of the Virgin Mary by local shepherds. The complex includes a basilica, monastery buildings, and tourist facilities. It is famous for the image of the Virgin of Montserrat and attracts pilgrims from around the world. The abbey also houses the boy's choir Escolania de Montserrat and its music school, which is the oldest in Europe.
If you happen to visit Spain, especially Barcelona, along with all the city's historical and architectural attractions, be sure to plan time for Montserrat. The Black Madonna is magnificent. The history, atmosphere, and mountain scenery are captivating. You can easily choose the most convenient transportation to the monastery. I highly recommend visiting.
Andrey S — Google review
Beatiful views, nice walking trails, The basilica and Black Madonna are a must when you visit here, you can take the funicular up the mountain from the visitor center. The outside parking is a bit of a walk and costs 7 euros. You can also park under the basilica for 10 euros for the first 3 hours or for 14 euroa for over 3 hours and up to 24 hours. Convenient for those who have trouble walking or finding parking outside.

Beautiful place. Nestled 1500m above Cataluña in the mountains. Makes you wonder, given its location, who could manage to complete such magnificent structures! I was a little late in the day so only ventured half way up to where the Basílica and the shrine is located. You can feel the history/essence in the air as you sit quietly taking in your surroundings. Also, here is where the Virgin Of Montserrat is located. After passing the patron saint of Cataluña, you can choose to veer off and enter a stained glass, oval shaped prayer room. DON'T skip out....well worth taking a seat and just reflecting for a couple of minutes. Family friendly. Lots of outdoor space. The views, well you just have to see for yourself!

Magnifcent monument. Must see. I recomend train from Barça and cable car. You can buy combined ticket. Easy. Tickets for Basilica and other are available on spot without waiting. At 13.00 hrs every working day there is a short concert from Boys choir. Must se and listen. It's beautifull. Like Walking on clouds. After you must touch the Earth in Black Madona right hand. At last I recenzent visita a wiewpoint at St. Mathew's cross. On spot can be chilly. This is the place that I'll deffinetly visit again.
Andrej L — Google review
One of the most beautiful places I have visited in Barcelona Spain! Highly recommend everyone to come! We took the train cable car up to the mountain! Not many tourists were there! The views are absolutely breathtaking The cathedral was sooo beautiful and peaceful! ☺️
Mahira M — Google review
We went here on a tour and I was so happy we did. I loved it that the vendors as you approach the monastery are descendants of those who sold the same cheeses and products decades if not eons ago. The Black Madonna was an inspiring experience and we really enjoyed the art museum as well. I have never seen it even referenced but it was amazing.
Linda E — Google review
This is a must-do day trip! We booked a small group tour via Viator. Our guide, a local, took us by train to Montserrat station, where we then took a cable car to the summit of the mountain. She gave us a great tour. We saw and were able to touch the black Madonna. We hiked to the St. Michael cross and were blown away by the views!
Claire G — Google review
Had a great experience visiting Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey! The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the place had such a peaceful and spiritual vibe. It’s one of those spots where you really feel connected to nature and history at the same time. Definitely worth the trip if you’re visiting Barcelona! ⛰️🙏

Sant Joan Funicular Lower Station

Mentioned on

Transportation
Sant Joan Funicular Lower Station is a steep funicular that takes you to the top of Montserrat mountain, offering stunning views of the monastery and access to hiking paths. It's part of the Tot Montserrat experience, which includes various tickets and access to attractions. Inaugurated in 1918, this funicular provides a breathtaking view of Montserrat mountain and the monastery from a bird's eye perspective.
Must try on visit to Montserrat, you will have some great view at top and also while going down n up to the hill. Tips: 1) It leaves station every 30 minutes. 2) believe the cost was around 20 Euro and its worth 3) Keep water with you and avoid during hot days 3) always use front / 1st cabin of the train to have better views.
Usman B — Google review
I'm glad I stayed in line to ride to the higher section of the mountain! Gorgeous view of Monserrat below. Several options for hiking to even higher points or down to the monastery
Opinion T — Google review
The Sant Joan Funicular is a great way to go even higher above the Montserrat Monastery and enjoy stunning panoramic views. The lower station is easy to find, right next to the monastery area, and everything was well organized. The ride is short but steep and very scenic — the kids loved it! Trains run often, and tickets can be bought at the station or as part of a combo ticket. A fun and memorable experience, highly recommended if you want the best views of Montserrat.
Zsolt P — Google review
We got on the Sant Joan funicular service as the other one was not in service and we were glad we did. As one goes up, you have great views of the Monastery with the surrounding topography becoming so evident. Can get a bit busy and you might have to jostle around a little if you are keen to take pictures but it's nice all the same. Safe, well maintained. Entry fee applicable. Credit cards accepted. Recommended.
Satish C — Google review
If you have paid more than €30 for two tickets and only find out a staff occupied most premier position on the funicular and no fee paying customers actually can get any decent photos. The lady on the right, at least, had decency of moving away when a customer try to squeeze in for a photo. BUT the one on the left, who stood at the most premier central location from very beginning to the very end and busy taking video/photo herself. Management of Sant Joan Funicular "I WANT A REFUND"!!!!
LM G — Google review
For tourist, a must ! We went on Friday early September so the queue was not so long. Look back through the glass roof ! The upper station leads to a spectacular viewing point and a short walking trail. A pleasant relaxing experience this of the year.
Tayard D — Google review
We had some extra time during our tour of Montserrat. So glad we rode the Funicular de Sant Joan to the top. The funicular is just over 1,600 feet in length and takes a swift six minutes but is still the steepest funicular in Spain. It’s thoroughly modernized now but has a history dating back to 1918. It’s enough to get your adrenaline going a little if heights unnerve you. But just grab a hand of someone and enjoy the ride. Atop, if able, I recommend you take one of the walking paths a little ways. The views across the other side of the mountain are beautiful.
LANCE S — Google review
It is currently closed but they aren't stating this in any place. The workers from the company told us that it would take 15 minutes to get to the top but the only workaround is to walk around 1 hour.

Oller del Mas is a family-owned vineyard that offers a unique blend of wine, golf, and gastronomy. The estate has been recognized for its commitment to sustainable tourism and personalized experiences. Visitors can enjoy a day trip with lunch, wine tasting, and a tour of the vineyards. The elegant interior design adds to the charm of the place. Guests are treated to a delicious lunch followed by a wine tasting session where they can sample wines produced by the family over generations.
Incredible place! We did the visit and wine tasting experience and it was amazing. Their history, the scenery, the ecological way of doing the wine…10 out of 10. The place is designed with a lot of attention to detail, mixing very traditional architecture with a clean modern twist. The wines were really nice, and the food at the restaurant was superb. Also an extra point for being dog friendly, their dog is called Vino and the cutest fluffball, super friendly. 100% recommended, next time I want to stay at the cabin!
Horacio G — Google review
Did a full tour of the winery followed by a tasting. Our guide, Marc, was incredible. His knowledge was extensive, and his insights into the wine making process was illuminating. Highly recommended! Thank you Marc!
Nicolas M — Google review
This was part of a tour. The views were stunning and the wines were definitely a talking point. We had a tapas lunch where we got to try their different wines, then we got to sit on the terrace with the stunning views and enjoy couple glasses of wine.
Craig P — Google review
They have rooms? I was only there for the wine tour. This is some of the best wine I have had in my life. They work with nature here in a very impressive manner. No watering system means no added lime or calcium scale and no chlorine; no chemical fertilizer means a more natural flavor. Ecological method and no added sulfur makes it easier on the head afterwards too. This is also vegan wine that doesn't use egg or animal fat in the process like most wine today. 10/10
Ryan B — Google review
We just went got a lunch and the service and food quality was lovely. From our table in the dining room we had a beautiful view of Mont Serrat. The wait staff was polite, attentive and knowledgeable. The cost of the lunch menu was very reasonable and given the quality of the food very good value for the money.
Sarah W — Google review
Amazing experience.. excellent wine. Must do the VIP tour. A must go to if in Barcelona . Everyone is so friendly! I will be back
Anthony T — Google review
We came to Oller del Más on a team building day. We work for an ultra luxury hotel chain. Our experience was pure disappointment. Rude staff, no courtesy to guests, especially in the F&B area, the slowest and most chaotic service I have ever seen. Food was mediocre, sides were cold, we constantly needed to ask for more water and serve our own wine as no one came to our table to check on us. Due to the slow services and the fact that we were constantly made to wait or taken to the wrong location by the clueless staff, we missed our team building activity as we run out of time. All in all a disaster. I would not recommend this place to anyone that values their time and money. Shame as is a beautiful location and venue…
Carmen M — Google review
We visited as part of a tour. This was our second stop. This property has been in the same family for 900+ years and originally a pottery manufacturer. Today it is many things including a winery, olive grower, hotel, cabins, golf course ... Our guide Ale was knowledgeable and entertaining.

Sant Jeroni is the highest peak in Montserrat, standing at 1,236 meters. It offers breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean, and distant islands. The trail to reach this peak starts near Vinya Nova vineyard-restaurant and takes hikers through a well-maintained path with some forest patches and beautiful viewpoints along the way.
Hard hike from Montserrat but WORTH it. Stunning views and on a sunny day like we had, can see for miles!
Charlotte W — Google review
The hike was tough, but the view on the top is spectacular, I would say if you have time you definitely need to hike to the top. The last train back to Barcelona is 7pm, the whole hike takes about 3.5 to 4 hours.
Alan C — Google review
Climbing up to Sant Jeroni is definitely a challenge—the hike was tough, but wow, what a view! It was an incredibly valuable experience and one of the most rewarding things I did. The views from the top are absolutely phenomenal and totally worth the effort!
Danny S — Google review
Terrific and scenic view and route. Definitely worth it once you reach the top. Bit of a tough hike. Definitely good to have some good shoes just in case.
A — Google review
It is one of my favourite places to go to relax hiking inside to these magic places. 🌳🌲☘️🌱🏵🌸🍂🍁🐐🐐 What do you need: A good shoes 🥾 please not 🩴🥿👠 remember that you're going for a walk. A water 💧 💧 and some snacks 🍎🍌🍐🥪🧃 If you're going for a run 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ maybe don't need a lot of stuff. I recommend starting the way of the stairs is very hard but is shorter than if you're going for the viacrusis way. You can come with the dog 🐕 If you have a child and they like hiking, then you can bring with you, if it's not the case, better not because they are not going to enjoy and can be a bad memory for both. I hope you enjoy the hiking 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♀️
Rhina O — Google review
The hike to the top of Jeroni Mountain was a very intense experience. The beginning of the hiking trail is in the area of the Montserrat monastery. It took a while to find it. But if you start coming from the parking lot, you need to walk to the end of the road, you will pass the tourist information kiosk and the entrance to the monastery courtyard. There are stairs straight ahead at the end of the road. You have to climb them and then just follow the signs. The hiking trail was very well marked. There are different trails, we took trail number one as we wanted to go out to the highest peak. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the top, we came down about 1 hour and 5 minutes. The trail is not the easiest, because it mostly goes uphill, and some of the climbs are quite steep. The terrain was very varied - stairs, paved road, stones, forest road, etc. But the views were really amazing, especially when you got to the top. It was a really amazing experience. We went there in October and the wind was extremely strong, so you have to think about your clothes, it's definitely very hot in the summer and the sun is shining. Parking costs €7 in the area of the monastery. You can also leave it on the side of the road for free, but then you have to walk about 2 km from there to the starting point of the hiking trail.
Teele H — Google review
If you're looking for a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona, hiking to the summit of Saint Jeroni mountain in Montserrat is a fantastic option. 🔝👟👣⛰️We parked at the main lot which cost €7 for a normal vehicle. the hike is no joke! The trail is long, steep in parts, and especially tough under the summer sun. The stairs toward the top can feel endless, but the panoramic views are absolutely worth it. 😍❣️I highly recommend wearing hiking shoes or at least good sports shoes, as the terrain is rocky and uneven in many places. Despite the difficulty, it was a truly beautiful and memorable experience. ☀️⚡️💪💛💫🙌🌼

Caves Codorniu is a renowned winery located just beyond the northeast edge of Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, known for its production of cava in a magnificent modernista-style building designed by Catalan architect Josep Puig Cadafalch. With wine-making activities dating back to the 16th century, it has a rich history in producing sparkling Spanish wine using the Champagne method.
We had a great tour, informative and well paced, followed by a nice tasting. We booked the package with lunch included and the menu was excellent and the dining area has stunning views with great shelter and a breeze. Highly recommend

Amazing experience! I strongly recommend the tour and cava tasting. The explanation was engaging, and discovering the history of the location was intriguing. The architecture, combined with all the cava bottles, adds to the charm. There's also a restaurant on-site; if you want to dine with excellent views, I suggest making a reservation in advance so you can enjoy it with the cava tour.
Mayra R — Google review
Since it is a big company, I was expecting a cold, fabricated visit but I was wrong. I am sure the guides are following a script but Paul was such a good story teller, we were all mesmerized. The grounds and the buildings are breathtaking. The cellars are unbelievable. The tasting was fun and informative. We have been to several wineries in many countries and this absolutely deserves a place in top 3.
Aysem T — Google review
Had a rehearsal dinner at Caves Codorniu and were blown away by their ability to handle a group of 60 people. While doing the tour, we were split into two groups. But aside from that, we were together for cava tasting and dinner. Dinner was excellent and they paid great attention to dietary restrictions. For a decent sized event, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Caves Codorniu to anyone. Great place with engaging history and ample opportunities for breathtaking photos.

Mariona is a very professional good guide. We are a small group to visit and she explain us very well all the process. On the way, there changes of plan but finally she kind of supporting us to the end. And she is a crazy “great” driver with a Big car !!! We took a English tour, gonna be happy to memorize the experience here and I hope we can meet another time together but we want to go to the restaurant if we have time. ‘!!!
Mitty W — Google review
This is a very nice visit to do if you are in Cataluña and would like to learn more about Cava and the Cordoniu brand We choose an English session as we were with our parents that do not speak Spanish. The visit starts by a 2-3 minutes videos which is totally in Spanish voice and subtitle in English. The video go so fast that you don’t even have time to read the subtitle and see the videos. First miss on the customer experience from the start. I find it a pity customer experience as redoing an English voice over will cost less than 1000€ ( For a company that generated 232 millions sales in 2024, this is peanut and show the consideration for improving the customer experience which is not their priorities) We have a guide that speaks English all along the visit and he was very nice, tell us everything about the cava and Raventos- Cordoniu family , thanks to him We visited several part of the complex and the caves are clearly the masterpieces ! Impressive At the end of the visit we pass through the official store of the domain where you can buy cavas and wine. I spotted at the entrance of this a big ad flyer ( 1.70m height) only in Spanish saying 20% discount on the shop and online on 15bodegas.com , hence naturally when we arrive at the cash counter to pay our bottles we asked, in English, to get the 20% off. The lady at the counter says there are no promotion. Until I start speaking Spanish saying I see the ads at the entrance saying 20% discount, so if she does give us the discount at the shop physically we will buy them online. As we get a little queue , people in the queue start asking me where I see the discount and start to show them the ads in Spanish at the entrance of the shop. At the time the lady at the cash shop tell me she will give me the discount but expressly ask me to not communicate to other people in the shop. Second bas customer experience ! Why are you displaying a 1.70m ads poster saying 20% discount at the counter and when people ask you don’t want to apply it. Is it because employee are incentive of sales pricing ?? Anyway this is a problem to look internally but as a customer this is bad customer experience, lack of trust and transparence Then to finish it when we moved to the exit by the normal path ( exiting the souvenir shop and walking away to the entry/exit gate), the staff already closed, 5min before an horizontal barrière which is around 1m height which force/oblige people to clip above it and go under it. I saw other customers which are old, 80+ years, trying to clim this barrier ! How bad is this again for customer consideration ! We were 6 minutes before the officiel closing time ! So to resume this is a nice things to visit however the customer experience need to be improved. The guided part with the guide was perfect ! The rest is clearly average / need to be review for customer experience

We were here for a huge event and it was incredible!! The space is mind blowing. The staff were warm and friendly. The food was out of this world. The entertainment was world class. I'm not sure how you go here as an individual or small group, but if you can, go. Amazing spot!!

Wow, I took this tour Saturday October 11th during my third trip to Barcelona (annoyingly didn't fit it in the first two times despite wanting to) and it was outstanding! First, I must say our guide Claudia was amazing! From start to finish, she was very knowledgable, articulate, and patient with answering any questions from our group. As the only solo traveler in our group of about 20, I really appreciated how friendly and welcoming she was, as she made time to talk with me throughout the tour (while still engaging with others). Even after our tour ended, she still helped me with my transportation troubles (although being stranded there wouldn't be the worst thing in the world). The fact that my tour didn't end with the usual "here's my link please give me a good review and mention my name" yet still had this kind of result speaks volumes. Hopefully someone from Codorniu reads this and can appreciate what an absolute gem Claudia is! If I raved that much about our guide, you know the tour was awesome as well. I've toured many spots throughout Europe and visited many types of producers (Tuscany, champagne region, port region, etc). This is right up there with the best of them! I wasn't expecting to be as wowed as I was. The grounds here are stunning (the restaurant looked very pretty as well but I didn't visit) and the facilities match in their splendor. Claudia gave us a nice walking tour outside giving us a great history of this great producer. We continued inside and learned more about some of the tools and processes used. Although I was pretty familiar with the overall process, it was expertly explained by Claudia and nice to be refreshed on. Getting to ride the train through parts of the cellar was very cool as well. Forgot exactly how large the underground part was but the number was mind-blowing. I booked the "Iconic Tour" which ended with a tasting featuring 3 types of cavas and 3 types of chocolates. I took small bites and small sips to experiment with every possible pairing, but ultimately Claudia's pairing recommendations seemed the best. All the offerings were great. And naturally at that point after sampling lots of cava, it's off to the gift shop! They had a nice selection there and I definitely bought more than I should have (glad I packed light this trip!) but I love making displays with souvenir bottles from these visits. My only complaint was that although I saw some serving flutes for sale, I didn't find any that had a name/logo engraved, they were just plain. So if anyone from the shop reads this and can point me towards some to purchase with your logo for my display, please reach out! In case you somehow missed it in the review, I highly recommend doing this tour! If it's your first experience, you'll learn a lot, or if you've visited similar establishments before then it's a great refresher. Either way, beautiful location and great tour. Not sure if you can request a specific guide since it seems less review driven for the guide than other bookings, but Claudia is outstanding! Enjoy your time on this great tour.

Nestled in the heart of Catalonia's wine country, Freixenet is a sparkling gem that showcases the Catalan Art Nouveau style. The cellars, with their colorful glazed ceramics and wave-shaped cornice, are a sight to behold. With 18 wineries across seven countries on three continents, Freixenet Group seamlessly combines tradition and innovation using cutting-edge technology. Visitors can enjoy tours for groups, individuals, and families any day of the week.
"An Unforgettable Experience at Freixenet!" Our visit to this amazing winery was truly one of the most impressive experiences we've had. The venue is beautifully designed, blending the rich history of winemaking with remarkable innovation. The tour was fascinating and well-structured, with a professional and friendly team who answered every question with a smile. And of course, the wines… absolutely exceptional! We tasted a variety of sparkling wines, each one unique and of the highest quality, turning the experience into a true celebration. Additionally, my wife received a thoughtful birthday gift – a personal and touching gesture that made us feel so special and appreciated. We highly recommend Freixenet to anyone who loves wine and unique atmospheres or is simply looking for an unforgettable experience filled with exquisite flavors and outstanding hospitality. A huge thank you to the amazing team for an extraordinary day!

One of the highlights of our trip. The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly. The two tastings that came with the tour were very generous portions. The menu was reasonably priced, and the bottles of cava available to purchase at the store were cheaper than at duty free.

We got the Cheese Emotion tour and the cava and cheese pairings were amazing, especially the Meritum 2019 with Roques Blanques. The tour of the bodega was very well-organized and informative. Would recommend this tour!

Enjoyed a fantastic tour and tasting around Freixenet. Interesting tour and tasty cava.

We did the tour in English and it was great. Out guide knew her stuff, and was able to answer the group’s questions with no problem. The train was stopped during covid and it appears it will not be back, as they expanded production into that area. After the tour, we had 2 completely different cavas, that were both amazing. We stayed longer to enjoy a bottle of the Reserva Real, and some charcuterie.

Montse was absolutely amazing! Best tour guide I’ve ever had and even gave us recommendations for tapas afterward. 100% recommend!

A great place where to learn and try more about the history of producing Cava. The guide was very friendly and she gave us a lot of news and useful information. We saw the whole process of making wine and even saw a documentary movie about the history of this wine. Even the tasting was very fresh and cool. Thank you🤩

Beautiful venue. Really amazing layout with a great selection of drinks available. You can sit outside and try different glasses for very reasonable prices. My suggestion though is to book in for a tour because if you miss out (like we did) then you will be very disappointed. Another note is the region mostly closes down at 1 till 4:30ish however here they are open till 2:30. The only downside was the staff were very unfriendly or accommodating, so that’s the only reason it’s not a 5. Do not let that stop you it may just be my experience. Go and have a great time. Good job team.

Platja dels Balmins is a vibrant and inclusive beach located in a sheltered bay, offering a clothing-optional experience. Divided into three coves by rocks, this picturesque 240-meter-long beach features an average width of 20 meters and is popular among visitors. It boasts facilities such as showers and a small restaurant, while the backdrop of mountains adds to its natural beauty. The area surrounding the beach offers various entertainment attractions and accommodations within walking distance.
My favorite beach in Sitges. Friendly people, a more gay area but well mixed with a straight and local group. Clothing optional and with diverse ages and body types, very relaxed vibe. Two drinks and food options on the beech and at the walkway, a massage option (which my friend enjoyed) and toilets.

Beautiful beach in Sitges. More or less famous for gay couples. The beauty of this, beach is that you can walk around the complete beach without textile. The location is perfect and water is also clear. Enough space to sit and relax. Nice beach to visit if you are in Sitges for sure. A all restaurant is also near by for fresh up.

Our friend recommended the beaches in Sitges. It is a safe place, and you won't be constantly bothered by people trying to sell you things. We chose Balmins because we enjoy nude beaches. This nude beach also allows for clothing-optional sunbathing. The ambience is friendly, and the seawater is great for swimming.

The best beach I saw from Malaga to mallorca. Clear water, free showers and restrooms. Come early to get spot in the cave. Lounge is 20 , umbrella is 10 euro.

Excellent place to hang out. Nudist beach - good for an all over tan. This beach is popular with all, particularly gay men and women - one of the few beaches I have felt so comfortable on! Returned a few years later to see many updates. Much more comfortable for seating in the beach bar. The menu has been extended and improved - we had a few lunch times here. The beach, as before, can be crowded but has a great vibe and again good for an all over tan!! The beach is sandy and it makes it easier when going swimming in the sea - with or without bathers. When the water isn’t rough, look down into it - fish swim around your legs and body!

Easy going and friendly nude/clothing optional beach. Mostly a gay crowd but mixed with some straight couples. Sand was soft and clean. Water was warm and really clear, also lots of fishes swimming in the shallows. There’s a life guard, a bar, toilets and a massage therapist! What’s not to like. The most civilised and well equipped nude beach I’ve been to in a while.

The architecture of this building is stunning. It’s so prominent and such a focal point of Sitges - go and have a wander and take it all in.

It's a beautiful view. The bells are ringing. It offers a beautiful view of the sea and the sky. You can go up (or down) two staircases: along the sea or along steep steps. More people gather here during the day. Musicians play during the day - some people like it, and some don't.

Iconic Sitges place, very cute, historical monument, with nice narrow streets and superb view of the sea and sitges promenande. We did not attend any tour of the inside, so i can not rate it. It then directly connects to the other site of Sitges as well as the net of cute little streets all over the center

This is the place that defines most classic shots of Sitges. It is easy to spot the cathedral from various parts of the city because of its location on a small hill and at the end of the main beach. The church is more interesting from the outside. The inside is OK, but not exciting.

Sitges Beach is a beautiful, lively spot just outside Barcelona, known for its clean sand, clear waters, and relaxed atmosphere. The beach is very well-kept and offers plenty of space to relax or take a swim. Whether you're looking for a chill beach day or a more social, vibrant experience, Sitges Beach has a lot to offer.

One of the cleanest beaches I’ve ever visited crystal-clear water and soft, sandy shores with no need for water shoes. As tourists, we didn’t come prepared with umbrellas or beach chairs. While mats were available from local vendors, we opted to rent two chairs and two umbrellas for €40. It was a full-day rental, so definitely worth the price. There are open showers for rinsing, but no public toilets. The beach itself is stunning, full of vibrant culture, and absolutely worth the day trip.

Sitges has that rare balance of art, sea breeze, and sunshine a place where you can feel both the joy of life and the quiet of your own thoughts. Has one of the most charming coastlines I’ve ever explored. I rode my bike along the seaside path, and every curve revealed a new kind of beauty long winding beaches, hidden coves, and little bays where different groups of people relax in their own rhythm. Some spots feel lively and social, others perfectly calm. From the beaches all the way to the old church by the castle, there are countless cafés and restaurants to stop by. I loved walking here morning and evening the light, the sound, the pace of life all change with time. Bring a sketchbook, sip a local coffee, taste some seaside tapas, and when you need a break, wander through the small local market.

Our recent visit to Sitges was nothing short of amazing! This beautiful coastal city exceeded all our expectations, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. We spent several days here with our family, and each moment was memorable. **Beaches:** The beaches in Sitges are absolutely stunning. The golden sand is soft and inviting, perfect for lounging or playing with kids. The water is incredibly clean and clear, making it ideal for swimming. The beach area is well-maintained, and there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. Whether you want to relax in the sun or take a dip in the Mediterranean, Sitges' beaches are top-notch. **Old Town:** The old city of Sitges is a true gem. Walking through the narrow, winding streets feels like stepping back in time. The architecture is beautiful, with charming whitewashed buildings and vibrant bougainvillea draping over balconies. There are numerous small squares where you can sit and soak in the atmosphere. The historic churches and museums add a cultural depth to the visit, and it's easy to lose yourself in the rich history of the area. **Cafes and Shops:** Sitges has a wonderful selection of cafes and shops. We loved starting our mornings at a local cafe, enjoying freshly brewed coffee and pastries while people-watching. The shops are diverse, ranging from boutique clothing stores to artisanal crafts and souvenirs. The local artisans' products are unique, making it easy to find something special to bring home. The hospitality everywhere we went was warm and welcoming. **Family-Friendly:** What made Sitges truly stand out for us was how family-friendly it is. There are plenty of activities for kids, from beach fun to exploring the old town. The city is safe, clean, and easy to navigate with children. Our kids loved the open spaces and the freedom to explore, and we appreciated the many options for family dining and entertainment. **Overall Experience:** Sitges is a perfect destination for families looking for a mix of beach relaxation, cultural exploration, and vibrant local life. We had an unforgettable time and would highly recommend Sitges to anyone considering a trip to the Mediterranean. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Sitges – A Mediterranean Gem that Steals Your Heart Nestled just 35 km southwest of Barcelona, Sitges is a picture-perfect coastal town that effortlessly blends charm, culture, and relaxation into a single destination. I spent a few days here and left with a heart full of memories and a silent promise to return. 🌊 Beaches that Spell Bliss Sitges boasts over 17 beaches, each with its own unique vibe — from lively stretches filled with sunbeds and music to quiet coves where you can unwind with a book. The Platja de Sant Sebastià was my personal favorite: calm waters, golden sand, and a peaceful atmosphere perfect for morning walks. The water is incredibly clean, and the promenade walk along the coastline is postcard-perfect. 🍽️ Food that Tantalizes the Taste Buds For a relatively small town, Sitges has an impressive culinary scene. From beachfront tapas bars to upscale seafood restaurants, there’s something for every palate. I highly recommend trying “xató,” a traditional Catalan salad that originates from this region. Don’t miss the paella at La Zorra or the local gelato shops dotted along the promenade. Every meal felt fresh, flavorful, and soul-satisfying. 🎭 Culture and Charm Everywhere Sitges is steeped in history and brimming with culture. Its narrow cobbled streets lead to charming plazas, whitewashed houses, and intriguing art galleries. I loved visiting the Museu Cau Ferrat, which houses works by Santiago Rusiñol and Picasso. The town’s Art Nouveau architecture and quaint little boutiques give it a distinct, romantic character. 🌈 Open, Friendly, and Inclusive What struck me most about Sitges is its warm and inclusive spirit. It’s internationally known for its LGBTQ+ friendliness and has a very open-minded and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, with family, or with friends, you’ll feel embraced here. 🎉 Festivals That Light Up the Town If you can time your visit around the Carnival in February or the Sitges Film Festival in October, you’re in for a treat. The energy is electric, with vibrant costumes, parades, and celebrations that reflect the town’s artistic soul and community spirit. 🚆 Easy to Reach, Hard to Leave Getting to Sitges is effortless, with regular trains from Barcelona taking just 30–40 minutes. But be warned: once you arrive, you may not want to leave. The pace of life is slower, the air is salt-kissed and refreshing, and every corner seems to be made for a photograph. ⸻ Final Verdict: Sitges is more than a destination — it’s a feeling. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, breathe deeply, and smile more. Whether you come for the sun, the sea, the art, or the open-hearted people, Sitges will leave a lasting impression. Highly, highly recommended.

The beach is well-maintained and popular among both locals and tourists, making it a vibrant spot for relaxation and recreation. It worths the while if you have small kids. The access is easy(next to the actual Renfe-Rodalies station of Vilanova and next to the bus station). It has a space to leave your bicycle. If you have a Library Card the price is reduced. Kids under 5 don’t pay. The place is spacious and kids can plat inside or outside freely. I saw kids playing hide and seek even. It also has a playground outside and a picnic area. Lots of stuff to see. Interactive monitors make it more fun for the little ones. Water fountains outside and sitting areas. Clean bathrooms. Helpful stuff. The inside playing area is so fun too! The Vilanova library is also a couple of minutes away if you want to visit it as well. Walking distance (5 minutes) from the beach and a huge park as well. It’s a great excursion for kids!

It is probably one of Europe's finest steam engine museums. This museum offers an unparalleled journey through the history of industrial innovation. Featuring a vast collection of restored trains, and interactive exhibits, it captivates enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The museum's dedication to preserving these magnificent machines makes it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the golden age of steam power and its profound impact on modern technology. It is a must-see museum near Barcelona! PS. The staff is amazing! Thank you!

Good collection of trains, in a well organised itinerary and with comprehensive explanations. It's possible to go on the footplate, look at the detail and interact with the controls of several steam engines. The indoor museum was also interesting. When we visited on a weekday, however, some of the exhibitions were not functioning. The price was very competitive, and the staff attentive and willing to help. Parking was hard, because the car park next to it seemed to be for regular users only.

The train museum in Catalonia is a must-visit for locomotive enthusiasts and history buffs alike, even if you're coming from just an hour away in Barcelona. Stepping into the museum is like stepping back in time, surrounded by magnificent locomotives and carriages, each whispering tales of Catalonia's rich railway history. The collection is comprehensive and captivating, featuring sleek, modern bullet trains to grand, smoky steam engines. And the best part? You can actually climb aboard some of the steam locomotives, making history come alive. Ticket prices are reasonable, especially considering you have a whole month from purchase to revisit the museum at your leisure. It's perfect for families or anyone who wants to explore the exhibits in multiple visits. Beyond the impressive locomotives, the museum offers a fascinating journey through Catalonia's railway history. Interactive exhibits, informative displays, and historical artifacts paint a vivid picture of how trains shaped the region's landscape, economy, and culture. Whether you're a train enthusiast or just looking for a unique and interesting day trip from Barcelona, the train museum in Catalonia is a winner. With its impressive collection, interactive exhibits, and budget-friendly approach, it's a journey that will leave you enriched and entertained. Arc de Berà is a triumphal Roman arch built for Emperor Augustus in the 1st century BC. It is located on the ancient route known as via Augusta, which connected Spain to Italy. The arch stands in the middle of a modern road, making it accessible to passing cars. Although there are no pedestrian access roads and parking can be challenging, it's worth stopping by to admire this impressive Roman monument.
A good place for tourists, located on the N340 road. The arch is remarkable, there are signs with the history and the reason for the construction, which is pretty cool since it is more than two thousand years old. There is a great restaurant next to it where you can sit and enjoy the great view of the arch and have a delicious meal.

The Roman Arch of Roda de Berà is a stunning historical landmark that stands proudly along the ancient Roman road that once connected Barcino (Barcelona) to Tarraco (modern Tarragona). This beautifully preserved triumphal arch is a true gateway to the past, marking the path that led to one of the most important cities of the Roman Empire in Hispania. Visiting this site feels like stepping back to the very beginnings of Rome’s grandeur, where every stone tells a story of power, trade, and cultural exchange. Just a short journey away, Tarragona invites you to continue this journey through time, exploring its magnificent Roman amphitheatre, the remains of the circus once used for thrilling chariot races, and many other impressive ruins that reveal the spirit of an empire that shaped the Western world. The arch is not only a perfect spot for history lovers and photographers but also a peaceful stop along the Mediterranean coast, blending cultural heritage with natural beauty. A must-see for anyone wanting to walk in the footsteps of ancient Rome.

Santes Creus is an absolute insider tip and a must for monastery visitors, although it is currently being restored but is still beautifully situated in the countryside and not overcrowded and has super German audio explanations

Second of the monasteries on the Ruta de Cistres. The monastery is impressive in its architecture but not as intimate as its "little sister" nor as grand as the older brother. We avoided the tedious guided tour but not, unfortunately, the far more tedious audio visual explanation of the lifestyle of the Cistercian monks which lasted 30 minutes. If we were unaware of their lifestyle, I doubt we would be visiting in the first place! Worth the visit though. My advice would be to park minutes from the entrance NOT at the car park 10 minutes down the hill.

You can buy a combined ticket with the 3 sites. This ticket is working for 2 years. There is a pause at noon on each site so it is recommended to visit them on two days. Really cool experience, we were 4 people including 3 first divers. They treated us super nice and had a good security briefing. Everyone loved it and we got to spend a lot of time underwater! The reef was really fun to dive on and we saw a lot of sea life. Really recommend it!!!

I had a fantastic experience with Odysea Dive Center! The team is incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Everything was very well organized, and the dives ran smoothly and stress-free. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great diving experiences in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back next year.

This was my very first time scuba diving, I was the first one in the water and my total immersion time was 50 minutes! I panicked the first minute, but the instructors are simply amazing. They taught me that 90% of the skills needed to dive are in your mind! For the rest you have the gear and the amazing instructors from OdySea Diving Center. An unforgettable experience that I will always carry close to my heart. Being down there, surrounded by the ocean, but with professionals that could calm me down with just their eyes is unbeatable! I strongly recommend this place, you won't regret it! 😎😃👍💯

They took there time to help everyone with a good dive. I recommend to go diving with OdySea - Diving Center.
Nidale E — Google review
The instructor Gabriel, and the boat captain Francesc were both wonderful, and the dive only had 3 people which was perfect compared to typical experiences with overstuffed boats. Highly recommend, and I will hopefully be back next time we're in Spain.
Katherine T — Google review
My teenager son and daughter did a Basic Diver activity, and Jordi the instructor did a fantastic job making them feel relaxed and making sure that they had fun. It was the perfect balance between teaching them the basics of diving and not overwhelming them with lots of information, while keeping it safe at all times.

We took the walk and wine (historic route) and highly recommend it. Very nice scenery and fun to see the vineyards. After the tour we hade a wine tasting where the owners presented their wines and the different wines they produce!
Daniel G — Google review
We had a wonderful and engaging excursion led by Xavi, one of the owners. We really enjoyed the personal yet highly knowledgeable guided tour, with the highlight being the tasting of some truly excellent wines. Thank you very much! We’re looking forward to enjoying the wines back home.

Fantastic tour and tasting. Interactive tour through the winery with tastings throughout. The wines are very good and they are experimenting in some interesting ways. The customer service and flexibility in language (English) was awesome. What a beautiful bodega with strong leadership and solid wines. Highly recommend a visit!

10/10 walk and wine experience and Xavi was the most amazing host! He made the experience so much better and was so knowledgable about the wine and the vineyard. Would highly recommend this tour

Stumbled upon this farm and we were so surprised! Such amazing wines and the service was really impressive. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely return.

We had an amazing experience on the walk and wine (short route)! There was chance for a private wine tasting in the vineyard followed by a tour of the cellers and more exceptional wine tasting. Xavi was incredible, so knowledgable and friendly. We would recommend this experience to anyone in the area. Thank you Xavi!

Monestir cistercenc de Santa Maria de Vallbona

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Part of 3 UNESCO World Heritage, the scenic route with video and explanation are of a very good quality. It’s obviously a must see if you are traveling in the area. You can buy a combined ticket with the 3 sites. This ticket is working for 2 years. There is a pause at noon on each site so it is recommended to visit them on two days. A good pretext to stop in on of the good restaurants near Valls (for a Calçotada for exemple).
Brice P — Google review
By far the smallest of the 3 monasteries on the Route of the Cloisters. The highlight of the entire route was the Pharmacy and its audiovisual presentation. If you arrive for the 13:30 (last) time slot in the morning you don't have to be part of a guided tour - we had the monastery to ourselves after the 13:00 tour left. Special thanks to the very nice lady at the ticket desk and shop for the information and opening the pharmacy for us
Alan D — Google review
Listed as part of a route, but their opening hours are not very clear. A waste of time, the worst of the 3 monasteries.
B M — Google review
A small monastery for women that is quite intimate. Nice altarpiece in tge main church but without a doubt, the highlight is the pharmacy, very informative and genuine. A special thanks to the young lady who opened it only for us as we were not part of a guided tour. As others have suggested, I would start the "Ruta de Cistres" here as the other two are much grander in scale. As an aside, the pueblo is kept immaculate.
Alan B — Google review
Very interesting place of women cloister. Fascinating history. Audiovisual presentación is great and really must-see.

Another Cistern Monastery in Northern Spain. Not able to see inside the Church. Beautiful area.
Michael E — Google review
We were unable to see the monastery from the inside as it was closed but the outside and surrounding village were nice to see and wander through. If you are in the area, it is a nice building to see but I wouldn't necessarily recommend making a special trip
Jamie B — Google review
Nice monastery of the so-called Cistercian triangle though it is certainly the smallest and most modest of the three. It was nice though to have a tour just for myself which may also have been influenced by the pandemical situation. As often in Spain the tourist staff spoke only Catalan and Spanish. I found it much more surprising that the films who made up more than half of the tour we’re also in no other language offered than the two mentioned before. It would be much more attractive for foreign visitors If the films would be dubbed at least in English. If your time is limited I would first visit Poblet, then Santes Creus and Valldonga at last. Or for dramaturgical reasons the other way around.

Outdoor Activities
Platja de La Pineda, also known as Vila-seca beach, is a stunning and serene Blue Flag beach located in the Tarragona region along the Balearic coast. This idyllic stretch of coastline spans over 3 kilometers and features fine golden sand and calm, clear waters with a gentle slope, making it perfect for families.
It's a great yarn with a slow descent to the depths. It is very clean, there are showers and many cafes. When the weather is windy, you can surf. The beach is very long and there are always a lot of people there.
Solomiia S — Google review
Overall, the beach was average, and unfortunately, in 2025 during our stay, it was under construction. Instead of relaxing by the sea, we had the constant background noise of excavators and diggers, which really ruined the atmosphere. The beach itself was clean in general, but the area around the sunbeds was a different story. It looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time – full of garbage and cigarette butts, even though smoking on the beach is officially forbidden. The sunbeds were another disappointment. At €30 per day for two beds and an umbrella, the price was outrageous – especially considering the condition. In Mallorca, I paid €12.50 for the exact same setup, and it was much better quality. Here, the beds were old and uncomfortable, and the “tables” that came with them were basically useless. I spilled my coffee one day and my beer the next because they were so unstable. Paying €30 for that is honestly a joke. On top of that, the constant harassment from ambulant sellers made it nearly impossible to relax. They were selling everything from towels and sunglasses to perfumes, massages, and hair braids. They were extremely pushy, and you had to refuse them multiple times before they left – only for them to come back again an hour later. I’d say I had to turn them down at least 15 times a day, every day. And if that wasn’t enough, they continued in the evenings on the nearby streets, doing the same routine all over again. All in all, between the construction noise, the overpriced and uncomfortable sunbeds, the lack of cleanliness around the beds, and the relentless sellers, this beach was not the relaxing experience we were hoping for.
Cornel K — Google review
A good beach which was clean and with very fine sand. You have to walk quite a way into the water to go in deep so this is great for children. Lifeguards and a beach PA system was in use.
Paul M — Google review
Really lovely beach, very clean and plenty of facilities nearby. Plenty of toilets and showers along the walk way. Has a lot of parks as well on the beachfront. Great view and the sand is pleasant to walk on.

Aquopolis Costa Daurada - La Pineda Salou

Water & Amusement Parks
Aquopolis Costa Daurada in La Pineda Salou is a thrilling aquatic amusement park offering an array of attractions for the whole family. From giant water slides to swimming pools and marine life shows, there's something for everyone. The park also features chill-out areas where you can relax and rent loungers or floats. With its numerous restaurants, kiosks, and shops, Aquopolis Costa Daurada promises a fun-filled day out.
We all had a great time here! Myself and my partner came with our three kids (10, 7 and 2) all had a great time (contrary to my daughters face in the photo) The thing that makes me most nervous about waterparks/theme parks is the queue with children as it can really effect the day. No queue to get in and the maximum we waited was 3-4 minutes to get on a ride so it was perfect. Good mixture of slow rides for everyone and a couple of bigger/faster slides for more thrill seeking people. A few of the food places where shut down so that was limited but we went on a weekday and we went out of peak times so that was to be expected. 100% you need to get discount tickets from a local shop/hotel - they all have them! its not cheap and everywhere you go they are giving away free discounts for 25% each ticket so get them!
Jordan W — Google review
I have been visiting Spain for over six years with my family during our summer holidays, and one of the highlights of our trips has always been Aquopolis Costa Daurada. We have always looked forward to coming here, and it has brought us a lot of joy over the years. However, I’ve noticed that the infrastructure and attractions have remained largely unchanged during this time. While the park still offers enjoyable experiences, it feels like there has been little development or innovation in terms of services, facilities, or new attractions. To keep up with modern expectations and continue attracting loyal and new visitors alike, I believe it would be beneficial to consider some updates or improvements. Whether it’s renovating existing areas, adding new features, enhancing customer service, or improving guest comfort—any steps toward development would make a big difference. We truly appreciate the memories we’ve made at Aquopolis Costa Daurada, and we hope to see the park evolve in a positive way in the years to come.
Bogdan K — Google review
Clean ! This was my first impression, the water was clean not smelling like chlorine, no stinging in eyes 👀 . It’s a bit of a queue on some attractions but the staff is managing it pretty quick . The kids zone if you are with a small child is a bit crouded (normal) , even if your little one cannot swim there are free life-jackets.
Ifka S — Google review
Good day out, found this park very well suited for children all ages and adults. Recommend you get there for opening time as it gets a bit busier a couple of hours in. There are ticket deals to be had some with your holiday package and others some with McDonald's buy one get one free we where told this by another family. The price for a family of four we paid around €85. Sun beds you do have to pay i believe this was €7 each. You dont have to have one qe seen many people put a towel on the grass and there was plenty of shade. There are lockers on site wich are chargeable but we didn't use and didn't see we need to so im not sure how much these where. One of the noticeable things we noted there was plenty of lifeguards wich is really important we feel especially with small children. The rides the ones we went on was very good and a good verity, I would recommend do the volcano and black hole early as the ques for these do increase as the day goes on. If you want to maximise your slides I'd recommend a fast pass as these people didn't have to wait 3 to 5 minutes to what we saw. The smaller pool and slides are very good for young ages from baby to 10 years, there is plenty to do in for all. The waiting areas when queuing are well shaded. The food and drink we had was reasonably priced for a theme park. Belived we paid about €8 for a hot dog and it was a about a foot long. There was plenty of choice of fast food, ice cream and drinks. We took our own snacks and drinks in, no one questioned this and we seen plenty of others do the same. Signs and map was clear, plenty of toilets near by. All in all would recommend this place and found it less than half price of there competition near by. You can buy tickets on site or online. The que for buying tickets on site took us about 10 minutes and the staff spoke multiple languages. There are some individual rides and some family rides so all can go together wich is rather nice. Easy walkable from front of La Pinda, there are taxis that can go from out side and prices on the board. The bus stop is near by on the main road. Near by there are some restaurants and some local shops.

This is the best aquatic park of the country for us. We have bene fer almost 6 years and we never get tired of it. This is the last test and the mantainance is not as good as other years. But the security is still perfect. Sad to say that it is the last day we go there, because it will be closed.
Laia S — Google review
A super place to bring the family. But the queues are long (unless you pay for an extortionate speedy pass), and over the years instead of there being new things, there are actually less things to do. A wee revamp and a new slide or two would help. Food seems pricey but the portions we got were good size leaving everyone full.
Gareth H — Google review
Great waterpark, good selection of rides. I got a discount for booking online but didn't realise you had to pay for sunbeds etc. worth while just putting towels on the grassy areas for the amount we used them and next time we would definitely take food into the park for lunch. There was a lot of queueing as you queue for the rings to sit on then you queue again for the slide. Overall we had a great day and really enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
Lauren R — Google review
It was a nice waterpark. With nice slides for bigger kids and awesome Pools for the smaller kids. Waiting lines for the slides were very long. And you do not know how long it takes before its your turn. At the 'oval-slide' a slide for families where you go in a little boat for 4, we waited 1,5h in line and the slide took not even 30 secconds.

Place with an impressive history. Although you can not take pictures inside it is worth going to see some spectacular caves and tell you the story of them. The surroundings are impressive.

Enjoyable and informative tour, absolutely beautiful caves. They take a lot of safety precautions with group size, and the guides enjoy their jobs and bring the impressive history of this area to life. The tour lasts about an hour, and is a really nice way to start the day. Make sure you take comfortable shoes, are all right with potentially slippery and wet surfaces, and remember that the cave can get a little humid.

Water & Amusement Parks
Located in Tarragona, Spain, PortAventura World is a seaside theme park that offers an array of attractions for visitors. The park is divided into six thematic areas: the Mediterranean, Polynesia, China, Mexico, the Far West and Sesamo Aventura. Each area features rides and shows related to its theme. From state-of-the-art roller coasters like Dragon Khan in China to live entertainment and water slides, there's something for everyone at this popular European destination.
I've wanted to visit this park for a long time, I've seen a lot of reviews on YouTube. And I finally came! The park itself is gorgeous, a huge area, a bunch of places with food and drinks, you can eat fast food, you can have salads, or you can find something interesting. It's also easy to choose from drinks, you can order lemonade, cola, beer, etc., there is ice cream. I advise you to buy an express ticket, we took it for 10 attractions, it was more than enough, otherwise you will stand in lines for 2 hours. We stood in line only for the slide from Ferrari, it took about 1 hour, but it was worth it!

Fantastic Day Out at the Water Park We had a fab day out—our kids absolutely loved it! We chose to go on a slightly cloudy day, which worked out perfectly for our youngest (age 5), as it made the heat more bearable. As expected during peak season, the queues were long—around 60 minutes for the popular attractions—but that’s to be expected in August. The park itself was very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of facilities including toilets, lockers, and lots of food and drink options. For lunch, we spent €85 for our family of five. That included 3 junior meals (pizza, chips, pudding, and a drink) and 2 adult meals (fish & chips, and chicken & chips). Food was decent, and service was efficient. Overall, a great family day out. The kids had a blast and will definitely sleep well tonight.
Kirsty H — Google review
Amazing amusement park! Would definitely go back sometime. The best advice is to buy express pass, as the waiting time for each attraction is between 40-60 minutes. We have visited the park on 16th October and it was so so crowded
Larisa U — Google review
PortAventura is full of variety and well worth the visit — but a little planning makes the day smoother with a tip. Bring a refillable bottle, as there are fountains around the park to top up. You’ll need at least 5–6 hours to cover the rides, especially with waiting times. The Express Pass really depends on when you go — we visited on a Tuesday at the end of September and rarely waited more than 30 minutes, though some rides did creep up to 50+ minutes at peak times. A good tip is to go for rides during or just after typical lunch hours, when queues are often much shorter.
K Z — Google review
Love this theme park . One of the best actual themed parks I've been too . The rides are all amazing. Although have to say was a bit disappointed with uncharted...it could have been so much better. The AR mine train was amazing with the serpents flying over your head. Not been here for 10 years and didn't see many changes or new rides since last time. But still great and my 5 time here

Fantastic Port Aventura World This park has incredible rides, we loved it with my son. Our favourite was Furious Baco ! It was the 1st of January this year, so was not too crowded and a FANTASTIC way for us to begin the year. We will back we loved this park!
Paul V — Google review
Great place with many joyful experiences. There are thrills for all desires. Definitely advise to visit if you like rollercoasters and other exciting experiences. Best to go there in off-season when kids are back to school to avoid long queues. If attending during holiday breaks definitely think about express pass to enjoy there rides and not standing in wait.
Aleksandrs K — Google review
Parking was 12 euros. Toilets aren't too far away from each other. Food is very expensive, 12 eur for a hotdog. Park is really big, it takes 20 minutes of walking to reach the opposite side of the park, loads of different themes which is very exciting to look at! Ferrari land has HUGE lines, highly recommend getting pass ticket for the main ride since we waited for almost 5 hours... Overall, the park is really nice and there's much to see x)

The park spans over 50,000 hectares with various swimming pools and attractions. It's an ideal summer day getaway for leisure and excitement.
Wonderful water park, lots of different slides for both children and adults. You can have a snack or drink cold drinks. an important point for me personally, there are lockers, you can leave your phone, money, etc., but! remember the 3-digit locker number and the 6-digit code somehow or take a marker 😂 because you are given a paper receipt, my watch saved me, where I entered the code as a note. also, an important point for photo lovers, I carried my phone in a waterproof case, know that they will not let you on the slides with a chain, with a phone, etc., you need to take pictures! you can only take your phone to a slow river or to a pool

Place to be absolutely avoided Very dirty in common areas, toilets areas as well as attractions, with serious risks of getting skin irritation as happened to me ... I unfortunately visited this park this July and it was a carnage. Uncontrolled number of people made the situatuin very caothic. Queues of a minimum of over one hour for each attraction with several blockages and slowdowns due also to the poor preparation of the young and inexperienced staff. Dirty everywhere and unpleasent discussions with other visitors standing to grab your chair or sunbed as soon you get up or, simply because insufficient in numbers compared with the uncontrolled number of people admitted. All of this at the "cheapest " price of 47 Euro ,if you cannot book online in advance for chhosing a fix date, plus 15 Euros for parking and 8 Euros for a small locker.....More than adventure an unpleasent disadventure .....

If you are staying few days around, then you must visit it along with the 2 other parks (portaventura world and ferrari land). However, if you are visiting just for one day, I would suggest just going to Portaventura world instead. We stayed at one of the portavenrura hotels nearby for 3 days to be able to discover all 3 parks (portaventura world, portaventura aquatic park and ferrari land). We spent one day in this caribe aquatic park.

I’m visiting this park every year in the last 10 years. The kids love the place . I’ve decided to give the place minimum score because it doesn’t care about the guest . 2025 is almost 2015 , very little in places shadows . The sun is killing in Spain . And the place doesn’t care about his guests health . The food . I understand it should be expensive as they do the maximum to take any penny they can . Fat food, almost nothing healthy . So above fun , take care of your guests . Put many umbrellas so people can hide from the sun, and sell healthy food.

We were absolutely delighted with our visit to the water park! Since we only had one day, we decided to purchase VIP tickets — and it turned out to be the best choice. They were worth every penny: the VIP lines were minimal, while the regular ticket lines stretched far beyond the designated areas. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy more attractions without wasting time in queues and fully immerse ourselves in the experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, everything was clean, and the staff was polite and well-organized. I highly recommend it to everyone, especially if your time is limited or if you want to spend the day in maximum comfort.

The worst aqua park I ever been, and I've been in all over the World, from Turkey, UAE to Australia... Not many slides and pools, but the worst of all is that it is too much crowded, there is 3 times more people than capacity! For every slide waiting is more than an hour, some even 2... If you want to eat, more than 1 hour waiting and count minimum 100€ for 4 persons with 1 drink. My advice, if you want to go anyway, buy extra pass and than there is 0 mins waiting.. If you enter at 11am, don't count you will get any sunbeds, it's completely full! Locker rooms also waiting time around 30 minutes and it is 8€ for small and 11€ for bigger bags! Better go once again to PortAventura World and Ferrari World.
Damir M — Google review
Came to the park just with my two kids 12 and 10 in on a Thursday in the May school holiday. Being a single parent, I was quite concerned about the logistics of keeping valuables safe while also enjoying the park with the kids. However, the lockers are quite straightforward - once paid, you get a printout with a locker allocation and a six digit pin. I managed to remember this which meant I could put everything in the locker. I would say these are good for one medium sized rucksack and a few other extras. We got to the park from the Barcelona-Salou train, that gets in a 10 and had bought tickets in advance at the train station - would recommend this or alternatively on line as there are queues for on-site ticket purchasing. The park opened at 11, and there was only a short queue once we got through the bag check zone (that is for all three parks). The water park is great and, at this time of year, it was not very busy - we easily got a lounger under the shaded area and the weather was perfect for us. The slides are great and the queues were minimal throughout the day. The green and blue Barracudas are great (green one is better) and so is El Torrente, which is a big dinghy that can hold up to four each time. Many say the lifeguards blow whistles too much but as long as you know what to do it is fine. As my sunglasses are prescription, it was slightly annoying not being able to wear them on the lazy river or Bahama Beach but I coped. Didn't try the food but had a couple of beers and ice creams. Took a large bottle of water in. In all, would say this is a great time to visit this park. I suspect that in the summer this would not get 5 stars as I expect queues would be much larger and weather too hot!
Ian A — Google review
We had fun at this water park, we got there at opening time on a Monday and it was already very busy and we had to queue for lockers (expensive!). If we were to go again we maybe wouldn't bother with a locker and would leave our things on a sunbed instead as most people seemed to be doing. We had to queue for some slides but we didn't think it was too bad. We spent all day there and went on all of the slides we wanted to and some twice. I do think there must be a more efficient system for the rings though, having to queue to get one then queue again for the slide wasn't ideal. The food was okay, they had veggie hotdogs which were good. You get a reusable cup if you buy a drink. There's no photographers so you won't get a souvenir photo.

Lovely, clean, spacious park. Good selection of kids rides which my Son enjoyed, queues were short too so very little wait time for them. The star of the show is of course Red Force! I loved that there was a viewing area to sit and watch it whizz by. Worth a visit.

Amazing theme park one of a kind. Very spacious clean and organised. Get ready for long queues depends the days and times but worth the wait. Gates just open 16:30 and close late time enough to enjoy all the rides Me and my family enjoy a lot here... I would recommend a visit definitely

I think most people will be visiting Ferrari Land purely for "The Red one", other than this ride we only went on 3 others as the park was only open 1700-2200. The Red one was great....the others not so much. But please near in mind we are seasoned Theme park visitors.....had we never had be on "soaring" we maybe would have appreciated "Flying dream" however with a 1hr 45 min wait we didn't. Racing legends seemed to be operating at Limited capacity and the "water jets" weren't working. We entered the park from Portaventura as hotel guests and queued for 30 mins, we then went straight to "The Red one" and queued for around 30 mins. The queues after that were over 2 hours. We ate at "Pit stop" the food was as expected for pizza, chips etc however the service was extremely slow. If you are willing to pay entry for 1 ride then its a good ride, generally the park isn't thay great, small and gift shops are crazy expensive.

Amazing experience, would need a couple of days to do all rides as times were avg 1.5hrs. Museum had lots of interesting facts. Photo opportunities for all the family, in a road car and f1 car. If time isn’t on your side, pay for the fast track/express tickets and you can’t go wrong with those. If you like Ferrari heritage and fast rides, Red Force is the main attraction for that.

Absolutely adore this place. Bought the 3 day 3 park tickets. Bought fast passes for the 5 ride pack and it was so good. The Ferrari ride is amazing. I went on it twice and was gutted I had to leave. Highly recommend this park. If you’re scared of rides or feel uneasy going on the red force ride GO ON IT!!!! You won’t regret it and it’s unbelievable.

If you are a F1 Ferrari team fan you will love this place! To see a real racing car, experience of driving a simulation of F1 race or adrenalin rush in a Red Force rollercoster is a lifetime memory! Even the children can ride in small cars and also try F1 simulator. Everything is amazing wherever you look. Highly recommended to any F1 fan.

A very nice destination for car enthusiasts , Ferrari’s all over the place! The Gallery is awesome, the store is modest the rollercoaster is wonderful. The Enzo Ferrari 3d video and simulator is unbelievable! They needed to add serious toys for big boys like me such as having a test drive with instructor on the circuit.
Sam H — Google review
The queue for a simple kids car ride wasn't too long in length but has taken well over 2hrs. This place is good if you like to queue nine hours for 2 adult and 2 kids rides.Wasted a day of my life here.

Great place to explore the history of Benedictine monastery! All the buildings and structures are almost intact, remember to download the audio guide beforehand for a more complete experience!

Very beautiful and great work of restoration! We were with baby and stroller, it was very comfortable and interesting for us!

A beautiful place to visit. Easy to find the car park. Scan for an excellent free audio guide at the shop and then an instructive introductory video. The on-site cafe was also a pleasant surprise with fresh pastries. The audio guide gave enough information but not too much. (There was always an option for more detail.) A very pleasant couple of hours but could have easily spent more time.

We accidentally visited the monastery, but were amazed by the beauty and monumental details of this place. We even got to attend a service in the church. Highly recommended!

Beautiful. On entrance scan for audio guide. Stunning visuals at the beginning. Parking is free across the road.

A huge and impressive monestary, well maintained with lovely gardens. Definitely worth seeing if you are in the area

Very nice Monastery. Plenty of parking space. Discounts for students, not for ICOM members. The ticket lady had not a very friendly attitude for someone who works with people every day but other than that the rest of the staff very kind.

Definitely recommend to visit. It doesn't take long. Download the audio guide app. They have free WiFi to use the app and its easy and very informative.

Platja de Llevant in Salou is a long, sandy beach with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. The golden sand stretches along the coastline, meeting clear, gentle waves perfect for a swim. Palm trees and promenade areas line the shore, giving it a pleasant, organized feel. While it can get busy during peak times, the beach offers plenty of space to relax, walk along the water, or enjoy a seaside snack. It’s an easy and enjoyable spot to spend a few hours soaking up the sun and the Mediterranean vibe.
Paweł — Google review
The beach consists completely of sand, there are public facilities like toilets and showers to cleanse yourself from the sea water and sand. Water is scarce so you can only use it to rinse yourself. Sea is nice and shallow at the coast. it takes a lot of meters before it becomes deeper which is very child friendly. Depending on the weather, the sea tends to be wavy. Overall a nice beach with a large coastline.
M Y — Google review
had drinks in the early evening in one of the beach bars, good 80s music playing. plenty of people on the beach and water had a great time when it was dark all the fountains lit up different colours, and a light show to music was great
William G — Google review
Wonderful beach with sunny sand and warm waters. Ideal for children to swim as not too deep and has variety of water activities to all the thrill seekers. Can hire the beach seating equipment for Euro 18 and has adjacent streets full of bars, restaurants and shops for tourists. Weekends get crowded due to the popularity of this beach in Salou.
Vin K — Google review
Perfect beach experience. Warm clean water when visited in June. Gentle waves for young kids. Plenty of beach bars. Easy public parking. Public restrooms. Nice beach side walking.
MyMy B — Google review
Avoid avoid avoid. Horrendous in August, sea is packed, beach is packed, can't get anywhere near the front to sit. Can't let the kids (who are old enough) swim on their own because you can't see them. Can't go in altogether as Salou is bad for pickpockets and robberies so you absolutely cannot leave anything valuable on your sunbed/towel. There was turd floating round in the sea. Based on what we have seen here, we would never return to Salou for either a holiday or beach day. La Pineda beach right round the corner is AMAZING ❤️☀️
Nicki B — Google review
Nice beach, busy though so get there early e.g. 10am ish if you want sunbeds. We bought 3 beds and a parasol and it was 40€ which I thought was quite expensive. You do get a free small beer from the beach bar for each sunbed bought.

Stopped in here for a quick tasting one evening and had a very great experience! Javier kindly welcomed me and explained all the wines :) we got to chatting about life and all things. Javier went above and beyond to make my experience truly wonderful! Not to mention the incredible olives he also served with the tasting! chef’s kiss!

We had an amazing time on this wine tasting tour! Our guide Miriam was fantastic— engaging, and full of great humor and personal touches that made the experience really special. We learned so much about the wine and the history of the local area. The tasting included seven wines with snacks in a beautiful setting, and the 4x4 vineyard tour was a real highlight. They also coordinated lunch at a local restaurant, so we were able to fully relax and enjoy the day without worrying about a thing. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience to do with friends! We first went to visit the vineyard with an original 4x4 - Rafa was an incredible guide, so many useful and interesting information. Then we had the wine tasting, 7 spectacular wines with a pica pica of cheese and ham. Gloria was the queen of the entertainment, she made the Cata super fun and enjoyable. We also had the pleasure to try 2 types of vermut, even if it was not included in the cata! The lunch was incredible - with endless wine and rich portions (Porta del Priorat Restaurant) Highly recommended !!!

Great place with great service. The tour of the vineyard was awesome. I got walnuts, tried delicious grapes from 85 years old vines. It’s true what they say, ‘the older the berry the sweeter the juice’. Jeep ride was raw and adventurous. Tasting was generous and the wine was superb. Go and enjoy it!

Excellent tasting experience. Gloria and her team did an amazing job walking us through the history of wine in the Montsant region and of the winery itself. The tasting included 7 delicious wines that this boutique winery produces locally, and small set of local snacks including cold cuts, olives and more. This time around we only did the wine tasting but we will certainly return to try more wines and do the vineyards experience on our next trip.

We had a great experience at Baronia! Rafael and Ale were engaging, knowledgeable, and attentive. We did the 4x4 experience too, which was a fun ride up into the vineyards. We enjoyed the wines, the company of other visitors, and the lunch afterwards at a local restaurant.

El Búho Piano Bar

Nightlife
Bars & Clubs
We went three nights in a row to Buho Bar for the excellent live music (rock and roll was our favourite!). Extensive cocktails and drinks menu, staff working extremely hard and professionally, despite it being very busy. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone staying near the area.
Alice A — Google review
Place to go for live music. But service is slow and very poor. Not much ecperienced people. Long waiting time as they don't work the modern way. The bar itself is very small so they offer not much to eat. This could be much better with an easy snack menu. But I do understand that the bar service has the first priority to improve. As I was the owner I would create an outside possibility when crowdy. Just to pick up a beer, wine or vermouth quick, so he can sell a lot more drinks at live events.
Huis S — Google review
I was visiting L’hospitalet early September’21, happened to find this awesome bar and it was Flamenco night. I had a such a wonderful time. Friendly staffs, variety of drinks, reasonable pricing, nice atmosphere infront of beach, perfect location for night out. They have live band every night from country to Flamingo… owner Monica was very kind and makes you feel at home. Highly recommend anyone who is visiting the area.

We enjoyed live music on Sunday. The bar has a beautiful location overlooking the sea, and the drinks cost accordingly. I ordered a Pina colada which was served in a pint glass but most of it was ice.
