Points of Interest & Landmarks
Arc de Berà is a triumphal Roman arch built for Emperor Augustus in the 1st century BC. It is located on the ancient route known as via Augusta, which connected Spain to Italy. The arch stands in the middle of a modern road, making it accessible to passing cars. Although there are no pedestrian access roads and parking can be challenging, it's worth stopping by to admire this impressive Roman monument.
A good place for tourists, located on the N340 road. The arch is remarkable, there are signs with the history and the reason for the construction, which is pretty cool since it is more than two thousand years old. There is a great restaurant next to it where you can sit and enjoy the great view of the arch and have a delicious meal.
Ventsislav A — Google review
The Roman Arch of Roda de Berà is a stunning historical landmark that stands proudly along the ancient Roman road that once connected Barcino (Barcelona) to Tarraco (modern Tarragona). This beautifully preserved triumphal arch is a true gateway to the past, marking the path that led to one of the most important cities of the Roman Empire in Hispania. Visiting this site feels like stepping back to the very beginnings of Rome’s grandeur, where every stone tells a story of power, trade, and cultural exchange. Just a short journey away, Tarragona invites you to continue this journey through time, exploring its magnificent Roman amphitheatre, the remains of the circus once used for thrilling chariot races, and many other impressive ruins that reveal the spirit of an empire that shaped the Western world. The arch is not only a perfect spot for history lovers and photographers but also a peaceful stop along the Mediterranean coast, blending cultural heritage with natural beauty. A must-see for anyone wanting to walk in the footsteps of ancient Rome.
Andrea R — Google review
It's a cool monument, it is in the middle of the road (but you can't drive through it, only around it)
Gemimia ( — Google review
Nice triumphal arc middle of the moderd road on top of ancient via Augusta. Well worth stopping. No good parking and road crossing bit dangerous.
Mikko M — Google review
Not great, but interesting. There are many other arcs close, in the same Catalunya area that have more panache and provide the viewer more awesomeness and thought inducing inspiration. Quick photo and that's it... to the next adventure!

A beautiful Spanish folly, You drive past it on the N340, At the side of it, there is a quaint little garden centre.

Room Escape Games
(Translated by Google) Very well thought out. We did the Boom escape and even though it's only in one room, time passes very quickly and it's very dynamic. Highly recommended! (Original) Molt be plantejat. Nosaltres hem fet el Boom escape i tot que només és en una sola sala el temps passa molt ràpid i és molt dinàmic. Recomanable!
Clara M — Google review
(Translated by Google) I will give it 5 stars, although since we were 2 groups, we split up to do the venganza and the boom escape and unfortunately the boom escape got it. The puzzles are very well thought out and are very dynamic; the problem is that it is all in one room, it looks like an escape room from the first ones that were made. I am still waiting for the Venganza, which according to my colleagues is a 10.

Congratulations on your imagination. 100% recommended (Original) Hem anat a l'scape de Venganza en família. OdySea - Diving Center - by Thalassa Tour

SCUBA instructor
Tours
OdySea Diving Center provides a professional and enjoyable scuba diving experience for all ages, nationalities, and languages. The instructors are helpful, encouraging, and friendly throughout the rigorous Open Sea Diver course. The environment is multicultural with a team of instructors from various nationalities. OdySea's service is highly recommended for those who want to dive and receive their certificates. Although there are no photos taken during the activities to share on social media, the overall experience is worth it.
Really cool experience, we were 4 people including 3 first divers. They treated us super nice and had a good security briefing. Everyone loved it and we got to spend a lot of time underwater! The reef was really fun to dive on and we saw a lot of sea life. Really recommend it!!!
Martin S — Google review
I had a fantastic experience with Odysea Dive Center! The team is incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Everything was very well organized, and the dives ran smoothly and stress-free. You immediately feel welcome and in good hands. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great diving experiences in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back next year.
Moritz W — Google review
This was my very first time scuba diving, I was the first one in the water and my total immersion time was 50 minutes! I panicked the first minute, but the instructors are simply amazing. They taught me that 90% of the skills needed to dive are in your mind! For the rest you have the gear and the amazing instructors from OdySea Diving Center. An unforgettable experience that I will always carry close to my heart. Being down there, surrounded by the ocean, but with professionals that could calm me down with just their eyes is unbeatable! I strongly recommend this place, you won't regret it! 😎😃👍💯
Veronica B — Google review
They took there time to help everyone with a good dive. I recommend to go diving with OdySea - Diving Center.
Nidale E — Google review
The instructor Gabriel, and the boat captain Francesc were both wonderful, and the dive only had 3 people which was perfect compared to typical experiences with overstuffed boats. Highly recommend, and I will hopefully be back next time we're in Spain.
Katherine T — Google review
My teenager son and daughter did a Basic Diver activity, and Jordi the instructor did a fantastic job making them feel relaxed and making sure that they had fun. It was the perfect balance between teaching them the basics of diving and not overwhelming them with lots of information, while keeping it safe at all times.
Jose ( — Google review
Had great experience, would do it again in a heartbeat. The staff so friendly and helpful. Explained absolutely everything and helped under water with any issues. Would highly recommend

Reial Monestir de Santes Creus

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Reial Monestir de Santes Creus is a stunning monastery complex with Cistercian-style architecture dating back to the 12th century. As you approach the monastery, you'll be struck by its mix of architectural styles spanning seven centuries, including an ornate 18th-century fountain in Placa de Sant Bernat Calbo.
One of the three mains castles in the area. Can buy combined ticket. Parking is a bit far away, but free. Huge site, cloister, many buildings preserved, film with explanations every hour. Mostly in Catalan though. The audio guide is free with qr from you phone en/fr/es/ca Many sculptures, church has thombs of kings. Well preserved. Great visit, esp for kids. No cafe of site, but there are plenty on the way to parking
Irena S — Google review
A must visit if in the area. Tickets were bought prior and it comes with access to an audio book. We went first thing on a Sunday which was really peaceful and with not many people around.
J A — Google review
Lovely, peaceful monastery to wander around. Coming from the uk, it’s really nice to see a Cistercian monastery that is complete! Recommend the audio tour that you can download onto your phone, it really brings it to life
Adam C — Google review
Santes Creus is an absolute insider tip and a must for monastery visitors, although it is currently being restored but is still beautifully situated in the countryside and not overcrowded and has super German audio explanations
Michael K — Google review
Second of the monasteries on the Ruta de Cistres. The monastery is impressive in its architecture but not as intimate as its "little sister" nor as grand as the older brother. We avoided the tedious guided tour but not, unfortunately, the far more tedious audio visual explanation of the lifestyle of the Cistercian monks which lasted 30 minutes. If we were unaware of their lifestyle, I doubt we would be visiting in the first place! Worth the visit though. My advice would be to park minutes from the entrance NOT at the car park 10 minutes down the hill.
Alan B — Google review
Beautiful place with great audioguide, many quiet areas for meditation and exceptional architectural details.
Małgorzata K — Google review
Amazing place. architecture is wonderful! stunning…
Goran M — Google review
Part of 3 UNESCO World Heritage, the scenic route with video and explanation are of a very good quality. It’s obviously a must see if you are traveling in the area. You can buy a combined ticket with the 3 sites. This ticket is working for 2 years. There is a pause at noon on each site so it is recommended to visit them on two days. A good pretext to stop in on of the good restaurants near Valls (for a Calçotada for exemple).

Aquopolis Costa Daurada - La Pineda Salou

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Aquopolis Costa Daurada in La Pineda Salou is a thrilling aquatic amusement park offering an array of attractions for the whole family. From giant water slides to swimming pools and marine life shows, there's something for everyone. The park also features chill-out areas where you can relax and rent loungers or floats. With its numerous restaurants, kiosks, and shops, Aquopolis Costa Daurada promises a fun-filled day out.
We all had a great time here! Myself and my partner came with our three kids (10, 7 and 2) all had a great time (contrary to my daughters face in the photo) The thing that makes me most nervous about waterparks/theme parks is the queue with children as it can really effect the day. No queue to get in and the maximum we waited was 3-4 minutes to get on a ride so it was perfect. Good mixture of slow rides for everyone and a couple of bigger/faster slides for more thrill seeking people. A few of the food places where shut down so that was limited but we went on a weekday and we went out of peak times so that was to be expected. 100% you need to get discount tickets from a local shop/hotel - they all have them! its not cheap and everywhere you go they are giving away free discounts for 25% each ticket so get them!
Jordan W — Google review
I have been visiting Spain for over six years with my family during our summer holidays, and one of the highlights of our trips has always been Aquopolis Costa Daurada. We have always looked forward to coming here, and it has brought us a lot of joy over the years. However, I’ve noticed that the infrastructure and attractions have remained largely unchanged during this time. While the park still offers enjoyable experiences, it feels like there has been little development or innovation in terms of services, facilities, or new attractions. To keep up with modern expectations and continue attracting loyal and new visitors alike, I believe it would be beneficial to consider some updates or improvements. Whether it’s renovating existing areas, adding new features, enhancing customer service, or improving guest comfort—any steps toward development would make a big difference. We truly appreciate the memories we’ve made at Aquopolis Costa Daurada, and we hope to see the park evolve in a positive way in the years to come.
Bogdan K — Google review
Clean ! This was my first impression, the water was clean not smelling like chlorine, no stinging in eyes 👀 . It’s a bit of a queue on some attractions but the staff is managing it pretty quick . The kids zone if you are with a small child is a bit crouded (normal) , even if your little one cannot swim there are free life-jackets.
Ifka S — Google review
Good day out, found this park very well suited for children all ages and adults. Recommend you get there for opening time as it gets a bit busier a couple of hours in. There are ticket deals to be had some with your holiday package and others some with McDonald's buy one get one free we where told this by another family. The price for a family of four we paid around €85. Sun beds you do have to pay i believe this was €7 each. You dont have to have one qe seen many people put a towel on the grass and there was plenty of shade. There are lockers on site wich are chargeable but we didn't use and didn't see we need to so im not sure how much these where. One of the noticeable things we noted there was plenty of lifeguards wich is really important we feel especially with small children. The rides the ones we went on was very good and a good verity, I would recommend do the volcano and black hole early as the ques for these do increase as the day goes on. If you want to maximise your slides I'd recommend a fast pass as these people didn't have to wait 3 to 5 minutes to what we saw. The smaller pool and slides are very good for young ages from baby to 10 years, there is plenty to do in for all. The waiting areas when queuing are well shaded. The food and drink we had was reasonably priced for a theme park. Belived we paid about €8 for a hot dog and it was a about a foot long. There was plenty of choice of fast food, ice cream and drinks. We took our own snacks and drinks in, no one questioned this and we seen plenty of others do the same. Signs and map was clear, plenty of toilets near by. All in all would recommend this place and found it less than half price of there competition near by. You can buy tickets on site or online. The que for buying tickets on site took us about 10 minutes and the staff spoke multiple languages. There are some individual rides and some family rides so all can go together wich is rather nice. Easy walkable from front of La Pinda, there are taxis that can go from out side and prices on the board. The bus stop is near by on the main road. Near by there are some restaurants and some local shops.
Dan L — Google review
This is the best aquatic park of the country for us. We have bene fer almost 6 years and we never get tired of it. This is the last test and the mantainance is not as good as other years. But the security is still perfect. Sad to say that it is the last day we go there, because it will be closed.
Laia S — Google review
A super place to bring the family. But the queues are long (unless you pay for an extortionate speedy pass), and over the years instead of there being new things, there are actually less things to do. A wee revamp and a new slide or two would help. Food seems pricey but the portions we got were good size leaving everyone full.
Gareth H — Google review
Great waterpark, good selection of rides. I got a discount for booking online but didn't realise you had to pay for sunbeds etc. worth while just putting towels on the grassy areas for the amount we used them and next time we would definitely take food into the park for lunch. There was a lot of queueing as you queue for the rings to sit on then you queue again for the slide. Overall we had a great day and really enjoyed it and would definitely go back.
Lauren R — Google review
It was a nice waterpark. With nice slides for bigger kids and awesome Pools for the smaller kids. Waiting lines for the slides were very long. And you do not know how long it takes before its your turn. At the 'oval-slide' a slide for families where you go in a little boat for 4, we waited 1,5h in line and the slide took not even 30 secconds.

We took the walk and wine (historic route) and highly recommend it. Very nice scenery and fun to see the vineyards. After the tour we hade a wine tasting where the owners presented their wines and the different wines they produce!

Fantastic tour and tasting. Interactive tour through the winery with tastings throughout. The wines are very good and they are experimenting in some interesting ways. The customer service and flexibility in language (English) was awesome. What a beautiful bodega with strong leadership and solid wines. Highly recommend a visit!

I've wanted to visit this park for a long time, I've seen a lot of reviews on YouTube. And I finally came! The park itself is gorgeous, a huge area, a bunch of places with food and drinks, you can eat fast food, you can have salads, or you can find something interesting. It's also easy to choose from drinks, you can order lemonade, cola, beer, etc., there is ice cream. I advise you to buy an express ticket, we took it for 10 attractions, it was more than enough, otherwise you will stand in lines for 2 hours. We stood in line only for the slide from Ferrari, it took about 1 hour, but it was worth it!

Fantastic Day Out at the Water Park We had a fab day out—our kids absolutely loved it! We chose to go on a slightly cloudy day, which worked out perfectly for our youngest (age 5), as it made the heat more bearable. As expected during peak season, the queues were long—around 60 minutes for the popular attractions—but that’s to be expected in August. The park itself was very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of facilities including toilets, lockers, and lots of food and drink options. For lunch, we spent €85 for our family of five. That included 3 junior meals (pizza, chips, pudding, and a drink) and 2 adult meals (fish & chips, and chicken & chips). Food was decent, and service was efficient. Overall, a great family day out. The kids had a blast and will definitely sleep well tonight.

Amazing amusement park! Would definitely go back sometime. The best advice is to buy express pass, as the waiting time for each attraction is between 40-60 minutes. We have visited the park on 16th October and it was so so crowded
Larisa U — Google review
PortAventura is full of variety and well worth the visit — but a little planning makes the day smoother with a tip. Bring a refillable bottle, as there are fountains around the park to top up. You’ll need at least 5–6 hours to cover the rides, especially with waiting times. The Express Pass really depends on when you go — we visited on a Tuesday at the end of September and rarely waited more than 30 minutes, though some rides did creep up to 50+ minutes at peak times. A good tip is to go for rides during or just after typical lunch hours, when queues are often much shorter.

Love this theme park . One of the best actual themed parks I've been too . The rides are all amazing. Although have to say was a bit disappointed with uncharted...it could have been so much better. The AR mine train was amazing with the serpents flying over your head. Not been here for 10 years and didn't see many changes or new rides since last time. But still great and my 5 time here

Fantastic Port Aventura World This park has incredible rides, we loved it with my son. Our favourite was Furious Baco ! It was the 1st of January this year, so was not too crowded and a FANTASTIC way for us to begin the year. We will back we loved this park!

Great place with many joyful experiences. There are thrills for all desires. Definitely advise to visit if you like rollercoasters and other exciting experiences. Best to go there in off-season when kids are back to school to avoid long queues. If attending during holiday breaks definitely think about express pass to enjoy there rides and not standing in wait.
Aleksandrs K — Google review
Parking was 12 euros. Toilets aren't too far away from each other. Food is very expensive, 12 eur for a hotdog. Park is really big, it takes 20 minutes of walking to reach the opposite side of the park, loads of different themes which is very exciting to look at! Ferrari land has HUGE lines, highly recommend getting pass ticket for the main ride since we waited for almost 5 hours... Overall, the park is really nice and there's much to see x)

Caribe Aquatic Park is part of the PortAventura World complex, offering a Caribbean-themed water park experience. With a wave pool, lazy river, water slides, and indoor kids' attractions, it's perfect for family fun. Set in the Costa Dorada in Catalonia, this popular tourist destination also features PortAventura Park and Ferrari Land. The park spans over 50,000 hectares with various swimming pools and attractions. It's an ideal summer day getaway for leisure and excitement.
Wonderful water park, lots of different slides for both children and adults. You can have a snack or drink cold drinks. an important point for me personally, there are lockers, you can leave your phone, money, etc., but! remember the 3-digit locker number and the 6-digit code somehow or take a marker 😂 because you are given a paper receipt, my watch saved me, where I entered the code as a note. also, an important point for photo lovers, I carried my phone in a waterproof case, know that they will not let you on the slides with a chain, with a phone, etc., you need to take pictures! you can only take your phone to a slow river or to a pool

Place to be absolutely avoided Very dirty in common areas, toilets areas as well as attractions, with serious risks of getting skin irritation as happened to me ... I unfortunately visited this park this July and it was a carnage. Uncontrolled number of people made the situatuin very caothic. Queues of a minimum of over one hour for each attraction with several blockages and slowdowns due also to the poor preparation of the young and inexperienced staff. Dirty everywhere and unpleasent discussions with other visitors standing to grab your chair or sunbed as soon you get up or, simply because insufficient in numbers compared with the uncontrolled number of people admitted. All of this at the "cheapest " price of 47 Euro ,if you cannot book online in advance for chhosing a fix date, plus 15 Euros for parking and 8 Euros for a small locker.....More than adventure an unpleasent disadventure .....

If you are staying few days around, then you must visit it along with the 2 other parks (portaventura world and ferrari land). However, if you are visiting just for one day, I would suggest just going to Portaventura world instead. We stayed at one of the portavenrura hotels nearby for 3 days to be able to discover all 3 parks (portaventura world, portaventura aquatic park and ferrari land). We spent one day in this caribe aquatic park.

I’m visiting this park every year in the last 10 years. The kids love the place . I’ve decided to give the place minimum score because it doesn’t care about the guest . 2025 is almost 2015 , very little in places shadows . The sun is killing in Spain . And the place doesn’t care about his guests health . The food . I understand it should be expensive as they do the maximum to take any penny they can . Fat food, almost nothing healthy . So above fun , take care of your guests . Put many umbrellas so people can hide from the sun, and sell healthy food.

We were absolutely delighted with our visit to the water park! Since we only had one day, we decided to purchase VIP tickets — and it turned out to be the best choice. They were worth every penny: the VIP lines were minimal, while the regular ticket lines stretched far beyond the designated areas. Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy more attractions without wasting time in queues and fully immerse ourselves in the experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, everything was clean, and the staff was polite and well-organized. I highly recommend it to everyone, especially if your time is limited or if you want to spend the day in maximum comfort.

The worst aqua park I ever been, and I've been in all over the World, from Turkey, UAE to Australia... Not many slides and pools, but the worst of all is that it is too much crowded, there is 3 times more people than capacity! For every slide waiting is more than an hour, some even 2... If you want to eat, more than 1 hour waiting and count minimum 100€ for 4 persons with 1 drink. My advice, if you want to go anyway, buy extra pass and than there is 0 mins waiting.. If you enter at 11am, don't count you will get any sunbeds, it's completely full! Locker rooms also waiting time around 30 minutes and it is 8€ for small and 11€ for bigger bags! Better go once again to PortAventura World and Ferrari World.
Damir M — Google review
Came to the park just with my two kids 12 and 10 in on a Thursday in the May school holiday. Being a single parent, I was quite concerned about the logistics of keeping valuables safe while also enjoying the park with the kids. However, the lockers are quite straightforward - once paid, you get a printout with a locker allocation and a six digit pin. I managed to remember this which meant I could put everything in the locker. I would say these are good for one medium sized rucksack and a few other extras. We got to the park from the Barcelona-Salou train, that gets in a 10 and had bought tickets in advance at the train station - would recommend this or alternatively on line as there are queues for on-site ticket purchasing. The park opened at 11, and there was only a short queue once we got through the bag check zone (that is for all three parks). The water park is great and, at this time of year, it was not very busy - we easily got a lounger under the shaded area and the weather was perfect for us. The slides are great and the queues were minimal throughout the day. The green and blue Barracudas are great (green one is better) and so is El Torrente, which is a big dinghy that can hold up to four each time. Many say the lifeguards blow whistles too much but as long as you know what to do it is fine. As my sunglasses are prescription, it was slightly annoying not being able to wear them on the lazy river or Bahama Beach but I coped. Didn't try the food but had a couple of beers and ice creams. Took a large bottle of water in. In all, would say this is a great time to visit this park. I suspect that in the summer this would not get 5 stars as I expect queues would be much larger and weather too hot!
Ian A — Google review
We had fun at this water park, we got there at opening time on a Monday and it was already very busy and we had to queue for lockers (expensive!). If we were to go again we maybe wouldn't bother with a locker and would leave our things on a sunbed instead as most people seemed to be doing. We had to queue for some slides but we didn't think it was too bad. We spent all day there and went on all of the slides we wanted to and some twice. I do think there must be a more efficient system for the rings though, having to queue to get one then queue again for the slide wasn't ideal. The food was okay, they had veggie hotdogs which were good. You get a reusable cup if you buy a drink. There's no photographers so you won't get a souvenir photo.

Lovely, clean, spacious park. Good selection of kids rides which my Son enjoyed, queues were short too so very little wait time for them. The star of the show is of course Red Force! I loved that there was a viewing area to sit and watch it whizz by. Worth a visit.

Amazing theme park one of a kind. Very spacious clean and organised. Get ready for long queues depends the days and times but worth the wait. Gates just open 16:30 and close late time enough to enjoy all the rides Me and my family enjoy a lot here... I would recommend a visit definitely
Happydays — Google review
I think most people will be visiting Ferrari Land purely for "The Red one", other than this ride we only went on 3 others as the park was only open 1700-2200. The Red one was great....the others not so much. But please near in mind we are seasoned Theme park visitors.....had we never had be on "soaring" we maybe would have appreciated "Flying dream" however with a 1hr 45 min wait we didn't. Racing legends seemed to be operating at Limited capacity and the "water jets" weren't working. We entered the park from Portaventura as hotel guests and queued for 30 mins, we then went straight to "The Red one" and queued for around 30 mins. The queues after that were over 2 hours. We ate at "Pit stop" the food was as expected for pizza, chips etc however the service was extremely slow. If you are willing to pay entry for 1 ride then its a good ride, generally the park isn't thay great, small and gift shops are crazy expensive.
Jo F — Google review
Amazing experience, would need a couple of days to do all rides as times were avg 1.5hrs. Museum had lots of interesting facts. Photo opportunities for all the family, in a road car and f1 car. If time isn’t on your side, pay for the fast track/express tickets and you can’t go wrong with those. If you like Ferrari heritage and fast rides, Red Force is the main attraction for that.
Laura G — Google review
Absolutely adore this place. Bought the 3 day 3 park tickets. Bought fast passes for the 5 ride pack and it was so good. The Ferrari ride is amazing. I went on it twice and was gutted I had to leave. Highly recommend this park. If you’re scared of rides or feel uneasy going on the red force ride GO ON IT!!!! You won’t regret it and it’s unbelievable.
Lily W — Google review
If you are a F1 Ferrari team fan you will love this place! To see a real racing car, experience of driving a simulation of F1 race or adrenalin rush in a Red Force rollercoster is a lifetime memory! Even the children can ride in small cars and also try F1 simulator. Everything is amazing wherever you look. Highly recommended to any F1 fan.
Aleksandra — Google review
A very nice destination for car enthusiasts , Ferrari’s all over the place! The Gallery is awesome, the store is modest the rollercoaster is wonderful. The Enzo Ferrari 3d video and simulator is unbelievable! They needed to add serious toys for big boys like me such as having a test drive with instructor on the circuit.
Sam H — Google review
Not worth the money! There are only a couple of rides interesting for adults, the queues are unreal, the express pass is expensive (€38) and only allows you to ride the 5 main attractions once. There are no special privileges for the express pass inside the attractions either; for example, in Flying Dreams, they seated us right at the edge, where the image distortion is the worst, and we were the first to enter the hall. The Maranello Grand Race is a dull, slow, dark, and uncomfortable experience.

beautiful clean sandy beach. the water is lovely. A few beach bars with lots of loungers for rent. Plenty of space for those who bring their own towels or chairs. Showers are dotted along the stretch with a platform and seperate tap if you just want to rinse your feet. Watersports available from beach to rent and waterslides. playgrounds with shade for little ones, walking distance to public toilets, shops and bars.

Platja de Llevant in Salou is a long, sandy beach with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. The golden sand stretches along the coastline, meeting clear, gentle waves perfect for a swim. Palm trees and promenade areas line the shore, giving it a pleasant, organized feel. While it can get busy during peak times, the beach offers plenty of space to relax, walk along the water, or enjoy a seaside snack. It’s an easy and enjoyable spot to spend a few hours soaking up the sun and the Mediterranean vibe.
Paweł — Google review
The beach consists completely of sand, there are public facilities like toilets and showers to cleanse yourself from the sea water and sand. Water is scarce so you can only use it to rinse yourself. Sea is nice and shallow at the coast. it takes a lot of meters before it becomes deeper which is very child friendly. Depending on the weather, the sea tends to be wavy. Overall a nice beach with a large coastline.

had drinks in the early evening in one of the beach bars, good 80s music playing. plenty of people on the beach and water had a great time when it was dark all the fountains lit up different colours, and a light show to music was great

Wonderful beach with sunny sand and warm waters. Ideal for children to swim as not too deep and has variety of water activities to all the thrill seekers. Can hire the beach seating equipment for Euro 18 and has adjacent streets full of bars, restaurants and shops for tourists. Weekends get crowded due to the popularity of this beach in Salou.

Perfect beach experience. Warm clean water when visited in June. Gentle waves for young kids. Plenty of beach bars. Easy public parking. Public restrooms. Nice beach side walking.

Avoid avoid avoid. Horrendous in August, sea is packed, beach is packed, can't get anywhere near the front to sit. Can't let the kids (who are old enough) swim on their own because you can't see them. Can't go in altogether as Salou is bad for pickpockets and robberies so you absolutely cannot leave anything valuable on your sunbed/towel. There was turd floating round in the sea. Based on what we have seen here, we would never return to Salou for either a holiday or beach day. La Pineda beach right round the corner is AMAZING ❤️☀️
Nicki B — Google review
Nice beach, busy though so get there early e.g. 10am ish if you want sunbeds. We bought 3 beds and a parasol and it was 40€ which I thought was quite expensive. You do get a free small beer from the beach bar for each sunbed bought.

We went three nights in a row to Buho Bar for the excellent live music (rock and roll was our favourite!). Extensive cocktails and drinks menu, staff working extremely hard and professionally, despite it being very busy. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone staying near the area.
Alice A — Google review
Place to go for live music. But service is slow and very poor. Not much ecperienced people. Long waiting time as they don't work the modern way. The bar itself is very small so they offer not much to eat. This could be much better with an easy snack menu. But I do understand that the bar service has the first priority to improve. As I was the owner I would create an outside possibility when crowdy. Just to pick up a beer, wine or vermouth quick, so he can sell a lot more drinks at live events.

I was visiting L’hospitalet early September’21, happened to find this awesome bar and it was Flamenco night. I had a such a wonderful time. A beautiful place to visit. Easy to find the car park. Scan for an excellent free audio guide at the shop and then an instructive introductory video. The on-site cafe was also a pleasant surprise with fresh pastries. The audio guide gave enough information but not too much. (There was always an option for more detail.) A very pleasant couple of hours but could have easily spent more time.

The Platja del Torn is a nudist beach located in a protected natural area, just minutes away from LHospital de LInfant. It's got a serene atmosphere and idyllic surroundings, perfect for relaxing without the hustle and bustle of big cities. The sand is dark and the waters are clear and warm, making it one of Europe's biggest naturist beaches. There's also plenty of deep green pine trees to enjoy as well as golden sand beaches.
I've never seen a more breathtaking beach. The combination of towering mountains and the endless ocean creates an unforgettable landscape. The water is invitingly cold after a hot sunbath and perfect for a refreshing swim. The sand is soft and clean, making it ideal for laying out a towel. We felt very comfortable as nature and naturist lovers. I can't wait to return!
Manuel — Google review
Wonderful nude beach! Very few textiles, well mixed crowd (all ages, men and women), lively, but not too crowded either. Two restaurants/beach bars that can be enjoyed without clothing and you can do some hiking in the buff just behind the beach.
Chris — Google review
In my opinion only, the best beach i have been to in Spain. So much room for everyone, naturist or otherwise, but leave the dogs at home please. It appears to have a gentlemens only area at the far end but its fine for couples. A few lurkers behind the beach which is irritating but they are harmless.
Motorhomingmadness — Google review

Limited Parking so get there early For nudist sunbathing only plenty of signage on the beach stating this Voyerism is strictly forbidden The beach is mainly of sand approximately 1 km long. Steep slope once entering into the water. 2 chiringuitos on the beach, both have excellent choice of drinks and Menu at reasonable prices Really enjoyed the 2 days I spent there

Nice big and wide naturist beach so plenty of space to feel comfortable. Parking nearby so easy access. The only disadvantage is that there are no toilets and showers.
Ergert C — Google review
Nice large and wide beach. Quite a steep and narrow road to reach the parking. Lots of stones, sand on the approach to the water and then stones and sand again. Quiet during weekdays but was very busy on Sunday afternoon. Families gathered closer to the beach entrance, in the middle of the beach there were more single men and men couples and then families and couples again towards the other end close to the camping.
Radoslaw M — Google review
One of the finest beaches in mainland Spain, which also happens to be naturist. So no swimsuits necessary. Directly behind the northern end lies the popular naturist resort of El Templo del Sol. The beach attracts large numbers of sunseekers, but there is space enough: a short stroll will be rewarded with a quiet spot for relaxing in solitude.

Monestir cistercenc de Santa Maria de Vallbona

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Part of 3 UNESCO World Heritage, the scenic route with video and explanation are of a very good quality. It’s obviously a must see if you are traveling in the area. You can buy a combined ticket with the 3 sites. This ticket is working for 2 years. There is a pause at noon on each site so it is recommended to visit them on two days. A good pretext to stop in on of the good restaurants near Valls (for a Calçotada for exemple).
Brice P — Google review
By far the smallest of the 3 monasteries on the Route of the Cloisters. The highlight of the entire route was the Pharmacy and its audiovisual presentation. If you arrive for the 13:30 (last) time slot in the morning you don't have to be part of a guided tour - we had the monastery to ourselves after the 13:00 tour left. Special thanks to the very nice lady at the ticket desk and shop for the information and opening the pharmacy for us
Alan D — Google review
Listed as part of a route, but their opening hours are not very clear. A waste of time, the worst of the 3 monasteries.
B M — Google review
A small monastery for women that is quite intimate. Nice altarpiece in tge main church but without a doubt, the highlight is the pharmacy, very informative and genuine. A special thanks to the young lady who opened it only for us as we were not part of a guided tour. As others have suggested, I would start the "Ruta de Cistres" here as the other two are much grander in scale. As an aside, the pueblo is kept immaculate.

Another Cistern Monastery in Northern Spain. Not able to see inside the Church. Beautiful area.
Michael E — Google review
We were unable to see the monastery from the inside as it was closed but the outside and surrounding village were nice to see and wander through. If you are in the area, it is a nice building to see but I wouldn't necessarily recommend making a special trip
Jamie B — Google review
Nice monastery of the so-called Cistercian triangle though it is certainly the smallest and most modest of the three. It was nice though to have a tour just for myself which may also have been influenced by the pandemical situation. As often in Spain the tourist staff spoke only Catalan and Spanish. I found it much more surprising that the films who made up more than half of the tour we’re also in no other language offered than the two mentioned before. It would be much more attractive for foreign visitors If the films would be dubbed at least in English. If your time is limited I would first visit Poblet, then Santes Creus and Valldonga at last. Or for dramaturgical reasons the other way around.

This is a wonderful small winery with a heart of gold, we had an amazing and detailed tour by the owners, and the wines were phenomenal with a great touch of the local microclimate and slate soil which really expressed itself. The winery is very small and each wine you can really feel the emotions of the winemaker in every glass. Very much recommend!

It was fascinating to learn about their organic and sustainable approach to winemaking, and the wines themselves were absolutely amazing. The surroundings were beautiful, but what really made it special was how small-scale and personal it felt. Because it was a quieter time of year, it ended up being just the two of us with Salvador. There was no rush at all, which made the experience feel extra special and unforgettable. We would recommend this experience to everyone! Thank you so much Salvador!

What a gem !! Salvador & his family have been here 4 generations in Poboleda. 15€ for a tour of the vines, wine making facility, cellar & tasting. The best 15€ you will ever spend. You do need to know some Spanish. The history of this area is incredible. We bought a couple bottles only since we were leaving Spain soon. The 100% Garnatxa Negra blew my mind. So smooth & flavorful without being heavy handed. A remarkable wine (30€). People who live in Poboleda said the 100% Cariñena was even better (36€). Salvador & his wife are gracious hosts. You can see the passion for wine they have. It’s in their blood. Gracias Salvador. Espero volver a verte un día.

This heroic wine cellar is dedicated to produce certified organic wine… We had an amazing time, a lovely afternoon and an exquisite wine tasting with Conchita and Salvador, that showed us the fruit of their hard labour and love!!! Muchas Gracias a ambos!! Estuvimos muy a gusto!!

I had a chance to visit the cellars of Burgos Porta and while you need to speak either French or Catalan, the owner was great. He walked us through the fields, showed us the underground water system for watering the vines. Finally he brought us to the expansive cave where he stores his wine. We did buy and the prices were great.

We are just now enjoying a bottle from this winery after having visited back in December. Lovely wine (some of our favorite in the area) and the bodega is family run. It was a very welcoming experience and we recommend!
Suzannah L — Google review
Salvador is the best! He is so personable! And very passionate about his wine! He speaks broken English and I speak even less Spanish. But somehow we communicated very well. Just proves that the language of wine and nature is universal. He was delightful. It is definitely off the beaten path. But so so worth the trek! Go to this winery!
Scott T — Google review
This is a small winery making very good ecological wine. The tour was led by the owner, a very nice and friendly man who showed us some of the vines, explained the different grape varieties used, the slate they grow in, and took us through the process of making the wine. We also got to try some of the wines they make. I have visited several wineries, and this was I think the most interesting visit. Getting to the winery is a bit tricky and involves some very narrow streets.

Cartoixa d'Escaladei

Mentioned on

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Cartoixa d'Escaladei is a historic Carthusian monastery founded in 1194, now transformed into a museum complex featuring cloisters, gardens, and churches. Nestled beneath the Monsant mountain range, the location offers breathtaking views. Despite ongoing reconstruction efforts that have sparked some debate, it remains an intriguing destination for delving into the region's cultural and wine-making heritage.
Definitely worth a visit. The grounds are beautiful and the mountains on the background are jaw dropping. I would recommend to have lunch at Rebost de la Cartoixa next door afterwards.
Daniela G — Google review
Beautiful, peaceful place, very much worth the 5 EUR entry ticket. There is also ample parking space.
Jenny — Google review
What an amazing place to visit. Rich in history and not well known. The ruins are beautifully preserved. A lot of restoration work is carried out. Entry fee is only 5 euros. The charterhouse was founded in 1194 and Escaladei was the first Carthusian Monastery on the peninsula. I really loved the arch at the entrance, it’s gorgeous. The square with the fountain in the middle is also stunning. If you in the area you should not miss it.
Ross M — Google review
The place is quite far away from anywhere and you must access it through curly mountain roads, yet worth it and recommended if you combine the visit with a wine tasting and lunch in the Scala Dei cellars!
Marc L — Google review
So this place is very out of the way, great if you want to visit somewhere less touristic. Entry fee is €5. The good: The restored cloister, they did a good job on it, it looks well, although parts of it were boarded up which didn't look good. The monk's cell, they restored one of them so you can get an idea of how they lived, you could see the living areas and a small cloister with plants, it was really quiet and I liked imagining how they lived. The bad: A lack of history, there are some information panels but I would have liked some more historical background. It looks a bit like a building site, I wish there were more open spaces open to the public instead of wired fences. Some of the buildings were renovated a bit, basically just a roof, they seemed very bare on the inside, no info, furniture or details. I recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for something to do
Johnjoe N — Google review
We visited Cartoixa d'Escaladei in late January 2023. We were surprised to find tour buses as we'd thought we were the only visitors in the region. There were about hundred or so tourists there. The ruins were much more extensive than I’d realized, and I hadn’t expected the renovation work that was in progress. They had restored some monk cells to give a sense of the monk’s everyday life: cloistered, i.e. no talking. They each had a small garden in which to grow flowers. I liked the desks with a view and the amazing history.
Lorena R — Google review
You need a car to get here. During our visit, theres a restoration going on. It was less touristy, so we could really enjoy the place. Hope to come back here again once everything is restored and no construction going on. The visit is still worth it.
Blanche L — Google review
Worth the visit- These old ruins were very cool. The drive up was just magical and serene. It’s about €3.50 to enter and you are free to walk around, check it out and take photos. There are informative panels all over explaining what happened to this monastery and showing you where things used to be. Definitely a cool experience and would highly suggest it!

Food & Drink
Devinssi Winery is a small and authentic winery located in the Priorat region of Spain. The winery offers an amazing tour with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide named Jordi, who makes the experience lively and entertaining for visitors. During the tour, guests have the opportunity to taste six different wines, all of which are delicious and well-crafted. In addition to providing a great tasting experience, Devinssi Winery also offers shipping options to customers in the United States.
Our sunset wine tasting with Jordi was a beautiful experience! He collected us (including our dog) from the town and drove us to a picnic table set on a hillside in the middle of the vines, with stunning views of the vineyards around. The wines were delicious, varied and each with its own story. Jordi was able to point to the places where the grapes had grown. He was excellent company, and has a level of English better than a native! I would fully recommend this tour and hope to go back one day!

Jordi and the Divinssi team are true professionals in every sense of the word. Our tour in early November was a real treat! We had the luxury of touring the winery and the fields, with a tasting in the fields. Jordi retrieved us from town and drove us out to the vineyard in his vehicle. We talked and laughed our whole way to the vines. Once in the vineyards he pointed out the different varieties that had gone into each of the four wines we tasted. Our tasting included tasty items from the local villages (incl. ibérico ham, fuet sausage, 2 local cheeses, olives, bread, and the most amazing almonds we have ever eaten). If you are reading this review to the end, then you need to go discover the Priorat wines - and speak with Jordi!
Ken K — Google review
From moment one, Jordi makes you feel welcome. The ‘tasting room’ is the best one yet…..the wines are exclusive and yummy. The view is outstanding. This is truly a unique experience. If Jordi is available (most months of the year), wear sensible shoes & show up! Enjoy.

A Magical Wine Tasting Experience at Sunset We visited with a group of 18 and had an unforgettable evening. The setting was stunning — overlooking the vineyard at sunset — and the wines were excellent. Jordy was a great host: friendly, informative, and passionate. A perfect mix of nature, wine, and warm hospitality!

We had an amazing tour with Jordi. All was taken care of and the wines and nibbles tasted great. We learned a lot, he really knows how to make it a great experience adjusted to what you know so far about wines. Very recommended!

Our visit to Devinssi Winery was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived at the Pi dels Llops in Gratallops, we were greeted warmly by Jordi, who made us feel right at home. The experience began with a scenic and informative journey through the beautiful vineyards, where Jordi expertly guided us in his van. As we drove through the picturesque landscape, he shared fascinating details about the origins and age of the vines, as well as the unique characteristics of the different plots. It was a truly enriching experience that deepened our appreciation for the winemaking process. After our vineyard tour, we returned to Gratallops to the wine house for the much-anticipated tasting. The food plate, which consisted of locally produced delicacies, was simply delicious and complemented the wines perfectly. We had the pleasure of tasting four wines in total: three outstanding reds—Nas de les Valls, Il Lia, and Rocapoll—and a refreshing mineral white, Diviño. Each wine was unique and showcased the distinct terroir of the region. The visit concluded with a tour of the cellar, where the wines are aged and bottled. We left with some of our favorite wines in hand, feeling grateful for such a memorable experience. Thank you, Jordi, for an unforgettable day!

My daughter and I had the most fabulous day and evening with the Cellar Devinssi! We started out with a tour of their vineyard and cellar. We continued our visit with a wonderful tasting of their fabulous wines! Earlier we had contacted Jordi about staying at their newly finished apartment for the evening and it was wonderful! Everything was clean, great bed, bathroom, and easy walk to a great dinner that evening. We had a great stay and would love to return! If you are looking to stay in the area, this was a magical day and stay that a highly recommend !!

Castell de Miravet

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Castell de Miravet is a magnificent Romanesque fortress reconstructed by the Knights Templar and boasts breathtaking vistas of the surrounding countryside. Access to this spectacular castle can be achieved via a steep and winding road, or alternatively through a well-marked path within the village. Large vehicles such as motorhomes can utilise designated parking areas located nearby. The castle offers impressive panoramic views from its grounds for an entry fee of 5 (or 3 at reduced rates).
Only ruins remaining but it provide a spectacular view of the surrounding areas & river Ebro! It's located on top of a mountain so more recommended to drive, unless you're into hiking - there's both main road and a dirt path from the village below to the castle You can walk in and buy ticket, no need prior reservation
Vince D — Google review
If visiting Miravet definitely worthwhile the visit. Most of it is in ruins but still a interesting visit and definitely worth the € 5,- entrance. The walk up is fantastic and very scenic but heavy uphill if one not in good shape or difficulties in walking.
Lars I — Google review
Wonderful views, odd parking guide. There was a guy in the middle of the road denying access with a car saying it's only 12 mins walk (is not). It's a steep hike to the top and there is quite a big parking place next to the castle anyway. We returned later and went with a car which was the better choice to be able to enjoy the castle too. The castle is under renovations so entrance was only 3 euros because not all places were open.
Tuija T — Google review
Wow, Miravet Castle is like stepping into a medieval saga perched above the Ebro River! The views from the ramparts are absolutely jaw-dropping think endless rolling hills and the river winding like a silver ribbon below. I paid €5 for the ticket (totally worth it, students get it for €2!), and the climb up the tribute tower’s spiral staircase had my heart racing not just from the effort but those epic panoramas at the top. Insider tip: wear comfy shoes, the cobblestone path from the village is steep and slippery in spots. Oh, and did you know this Templar fortress was once a Moorish stronghold before the Knights transformed it in the 12th century? Save time for the pottery shops in Miravet’s old town they’re a hidden gem!
Sam L — Google review
Friendly staff, beautiful Templar castle with stunning views over Miravet. Tons of cool info about the history of the place.
Nunya N — Google review
I loved this town! We drove to the castle, which was nice but not as nice as others in the area. But, the views were incredible! I loved the river going through the town. Our friends drove the car back down, and I went took the easy walking path through the trees. I wouldn't have wanted to walk up it, but down was easy. It empties into the town, and walked down through small streets to the river. The cute mouse house had to be noted! I hear you can kayak in the river but the current looked VERY strong, so I'm not sure it's something I'm able to do. People were swimming close to the shore though. There's a small cafe where you can eat, too. Certainly come check it out!
Shannon K — Google review
Highly ridiculous. I knew that prices had risen due to inflation, but the price to enter this castle is a crime. If you are a history lover and you like to see empty castles with only stone, this is an ideal place for you. I expected there to be materials typical of the century in which construction began. Honestly, in my opinion, it's not worth it. The views are not that pretty (although I have to say that when I took the view the day was cloudy). It only took us 20 minutes to see the entire castle. The truth is, I don't understand the people who recommend visiting this place, if you know someone who recommends it, tell them that I pay a visit to the eye doctor, they really need it. In my opinion, the town looks like the set of a low-budget zombie movie. thank you very much 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼❤️
Carlaa — Google review
Not a bad castle/ruin but to pay 5 eur and can't even go to the top of the castle because it was closed, is too much. In general for 10 min you are done, so walking up the hill takes more time than to view the castle...There is WC for free and the staff was polite and English speaking. You can also go by car

Roca dels Moros is a hidden gem that offers an incredible glimpse into prehistoric art, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted with warmth and hospitality, ensuring everyone feels welcome. The knowledgeable staff provides insightful tours, accommodating all needs, including those of disabled guests. The cave art may be smaller than anticipated but is truly awe-inspiring when you consider its age and the stories it tells about ancient peoples.
This place was amazing. The cave art itself was smaller than I expected, but they have a great building that describes the art and the history behind it. The best part was the VR room. It was the most immersive experience, by far, that I have ever been in. I would highly recommend this place.

This place was incredible! Such a treat to see this rock art, and the interpretation center is state of the art including a fun VR experience. Sadly we were the only visitors but it was nice to have the personal tour and no rush. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but absolutely worth the drive.

We arrived on the off chance on a Sunday about an hour before chiding and were warnly welcomed by the lady on the desk. My partner was disabled and she made every accommodation posd8ble to make our visit enjoyable. We were the only visitors, and she gave us a wonderful tour of the site and put up with our barrage of questions. The site is amazing and awe-inspiring. I am an archaeologist with a particular interest in European Cave and rock art, and I learned a lot from site and from the knowledge of the staff. Thank you for making this so memorable
Kenton C — Google review
We expected a dry experience, focused on a few cave paintings. BEWARE! This is NOT what you will get here! The staff, exquisite, friendly, helpful, despite our lack of decent Castilian, went out of their way to make our experience unique. The staff immersed us, in their passion, of this incredible site, used for thousands of years by differing groups, as a place to express the individuality and artistry of people 10,000, 12,000 years ago. It is a true insight into the skill and eloquence of our forbears. THIS SITE IS NOT TO BE MISSED! Now, that is the review for the centre and the cave paintings…but there is more, much more… For the entry price of €4, you get this experience, with a highly skilled, knowledgeable local guide, steeped in the minutiae of every aspect of the incredible history of this site. Then there is the Virtual Reality presentation. This was my first. Be prepared to have your limits of perception BLOWN APART. If you love gaming, history, geography…this is utterly incredible. I have flown a thousand meters over medieval castles, ridden a rocky magic carpet 10,000 years ago in the distant past…the programmers of this VR experience are the best in the game, and the staff the most gentle, helping us through the most immersive experience of my life. Yes, it is that good. Look at my other reviews - I do not normally gush. We advised them to up the entrance fee. €4 is simply not enough. Five stars. If I could give 10, I would. How this experience is out here in El Cogul is beyond my understanding. Go, and enjoy. It is perfection.

If you're into prehistoric art, it's a must see. The lady who runs it is extremely knowledgeable about the art and does an excellent explanation in English. I really enjoyed talking with her. The art itself is incredible. When you think ho long it's been sitting on this exposed rock wall, it's amazing there's anything left to see. A very worthwhile spot to visit.

Despite stating on their website that you could present yourself without any appointment or booking, once there the lady at the Agrobotiga informed us that there was a tour at midday ( it was 9.30 am) and could not attend to us beforehand as the tour lady was having breakfast! Travelling from Australia with hubby and little one, this was a very upsetting experience as we were told to come back that afternoon or another day ( as if one is around all the time) . Please update website to avoid further dissapointed costumers.

A very memorable experience with our knowledgeable & friendly guide Marta who spoke perfect English. We booked the wine & chocolate tasting experience which included a guided tour of the beautiful, historic building and explanation of the local co-operative which was fascinating. Bahar D — Google review
THE BUILDING: The building was nice — it’s a classic older building that has nice views out to the main square. The restaurant downstairs is very nice with good prices. LOCATION: The location is fantastic for people that are in Alcañiz without a car. It’s right in the center of town within walking distance to almost everything that a tourist would want. RECEPTION: Checking in was quick and easy. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. They even offered to switch us rooms with the air-conditioning problem (see below), but none of the air-conditioning worked at that point so there was not much that could be done. AIR CONDITIONING: The air conditioning did not work in the hotel during a heat wave. It was 30°C in our room so we had to go to a different hotel the second night. The first night was manageable, but the second night was unbearable so we requested a refund for the second night. The hotel agreed to a partial refund. What the hotel described was that they have swamp coolers instead of traditional air conditioning and when it had been hot out for that long, the swamp coolers simply stopped working. I was not angry with them and understand that there was nothing that the hotel owners could do that night, but it should not have been my responsibility to pay for an air-conditioned room that could not be provided to me. Knowing that there was a heat wave, it was an important enough issue for us that I even sent the hot a message via Booking.com stating that we needed air conditioning and they said that there was. I’m not going to fight with the hotel over the partial refund rather than the full refund for that night, but I am very disappointed that they are charging us for something that they could not provide. THE ROOM: The room was nothing special, but it was also fine for being a two-star hotel. We did not expect much given the star level. As I said above, if you want somewhere nicer, the other hotel in town is three or four stars for a very similar price. It has much, much nicer rooms. THE BATHROOM: The bathroom was small, but it was actually nicer than most Spanish bathrooms because the glass piece encloses the shower area so that you don’t get water all over the place. Also, the water pressure was good. NOISE: The hotel itself was very quiet. We could not hear the other guests. But like any other main square in Spain, if something is happening out there, it might get quite loud so that is something to take into account. BREAKFAST: We did not get the breakfast included with our room so we cannot say if it was adequate for the price we paid. But the restaurant on the ground level of the hotel is very good. Even when they were not open yet, the receptionist made us coffee in the restaurant. PARKING: The hotel does not have on-site parking, but they do mention parking so they must have an arrangement with a parking garage. Honestly, if you have a car, the City of Alcañiz hotel has free parking and it’s a much nicer hotel for a similar price. SUMMARY: Great location and friendly staff, but this hotel is not a good option in the summer. When you most need the air-conditioning, it does not work. And I think the dealbreaker for us is a customer service item: They did not fully refund the room that second night. We changed to a different hotel room and at the end of the day we paid for one and a half rooms that night… so what I am trying to say with that is that even if it’s not the hotel’s fault, I can see that the customer service is lacking. When they saw that they could not provide what they advertised, and especially specifically stated in an email to us, should’ve provided a full refund. This is like if a restaurant tells you that they are out sandwiches, but they already have your credit card number so they charge you for half a sandwich anyway because they feel like it’s not their fault they didn’t have a sandwich to give you.

It is one of the best places to watch the race from on this track. You can see the first turn melee and entrance into the second turn. Higher seats grant a visibility (brief) of back straight while lower seats bring you quite close to the action. Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of the Savior of Zaragoza, also known as La Seo, is a stunning architectural marvel that combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles. Situated on Plaza de la Seo, it holds historical significance as it was built on the site of one of the first mosques during Moorish rule in Aragon. Over the centuries, it has undergone various renovations and additions reflecting Mudejar, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque influences.
This is a magnificent and stunning piece of architecture and art, no less than any other churches of this style, with the choir in the centre, but it is far less crowded and expensive as in other more popular cities in Spain. No long queues to enter, no booking in advance, and one can stroll leisurely and admire every detail. I am so glad that I stop by Zaragoza.

The Catedral del Salvador de Zaragoza, commonly known as La Seo, is an absolute masterpiece that genuinely captivated me. While many visitors flock to the more famous Basílica del Pilar, overlooking La Seo would be a grave mistake. This magnificent temple boasts stunning architecture, with its intricate domes, numerous chapels, and breathtaking art creating an atmosphere of profound beauty. It's immediately clear why this cathedral holds the prestigious title of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every corner reveals centuries of history and artistic brilliance, making it an unforgettable experience that truly stands apart.

This is a must see. It’s just stunning. Try time it for mass. A lot of tourists are walking around, looking at all the art periods, Capellas. The audio guide is necessary, they’ve a children’s audio guide too. The staff are so kind & patient. It’s mostly wheelchair accessible except the gift shop & tapestries. The beauty & building for the glory of God is a feast for your eyes. Again the ticket here can be also used at ‘the glass rosary’ You’ll need more time than you think in this cathedral. Look at the tapestries. If you like art this is for you.

This was the best historical site we saw in Zaragoza. It covers several periods, invasions & conversions. The audio guide for children and another for adult work really well. Lots of language options. It’s mostly wheelchair friendly but the gift shop, up one step and the tapestry’s are up several flights of old broad stairs. Everyone is so friendly. The detail of each little chapel can be a little overwhelming at times. The effort, skills & expense put into them. The personal Family history.

Pretty amazing place, but quite crowded on the weekend. It's also closed around lunch time so you can't really go in and take advantage of smaller crowds. All that said, it's not worth taking a special trip to Zaragoza just for this and a couple other churches that are around. If you're in the area, or you're passing through, you definitely should visit.

The cathedral in Zaragoza is magnificent! I was here during advent and saw some nice decoration.

Very nice and important place to see. The cathedral has some magnificent architecture and decour, also there is a wonderful tapestry museum inside which I would say is a must see for any history and decour enthusiast. The visit includes a great audioguide in multiple languages.

One of the most impressive cathedrals in Spain, also constantly underrated and overshadowed by El Pilar for obvious reasons, it retains a big artistic value in unique from the wood altarpiece to the choir or all the baroque interiors, plus the mudejar tiles on the façade or the collection of rich medieval tapestries. It reflects the role of Zaragoza as witness in a crossroads of civilizations from Roman to Visigoth, muslim, and Christian again in Romanesque, Gothic, renaissance, unique mudejar with arab reminiscences, baroque, neoclassic, etc all in one single building

The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is a stunning Baroque structure adorned with vibrant cupolas and renowned for its shrine to the Virgin Mary. Inside, visitors can admire frescoes by Goya. While it's worth exploring this architectural gem, nearby villages like Aninon and Torralba de Ribota boast exceptional examples of Mudejar architecture, such as the Church of Lady of Castillo and the Church of San Felix.
Breathtaking and Majestic El Pilar is absolutely stunning—both inside and out. The architecture is grand, the interior is peaceful and awe-inspiring, and the views from the towers are unforgettable. A place filled with history, beauty, and spiritual calm. A true gem of Zaragoza and a must-visit for anyone in the city.

A most exquisite building dedicated to Saint Mary who appeared on a pillar which is now enclosed but you can kneel before it and touch part of it. The soaring ceiling and beautiful sculptures are breathtaking. Each of the chapels has its own glorious artworks. The chapel at the back of the church is extraordinary with a separate open roof structure. A true gem.

The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza is a breathtaking masterpiece of Baroque architecture and a deeply spiritual landmark. With its grand domes, stunning frescoes by Goya, and peaceful riverside setting, it’s a must-visit for both art and history lovers. Don’t miss the panoramic views from the tower and the nearby Puente de Piedra for perfect photos.

Simply mammoth size of a Cathedral....hard to photograph it was so large but got some shots on a stormy night from the bridge. Beautiful tiling on roof. Beautifully carved altar and wonderfully cool inside. Sadly a couple of the towers were being renovated but understandable.

Such a beautiful Basilica. Seeing the Pilar where our Lady billocated was so special. We timed it well for Holy Mass. you do need an hour to explore afterwards. Plenty of priests were there to hear confessions. Architecture was spectacular, the paintings, sculptures- a pure joy to be there. Plenty of Capella for praying along. Rosary after 12 mass.

The church was absolutely stunning, with its magnificent architecture leaving me speechless. The intricate stonework and towering spires created an awe-inspiring silhouette against the sky. As I walked through the grand entrance, I was captivated by the rich history that enveloped the space; it felt as though time itself had been preserved within these walls. The ornate stained glass windows cast vibrant colors across the interior, illuminating the beautifully carved wooden pews. I found myself particularly mesmerized by the elaborate details on the facade, where every chiselled figure and decorative element seemed to tell a story of its own. It was an experience that left a lasting impression on my heart.

A very beautiful basilica, and definitely worth visiting if you're in the area or happen to be passing through. However, I wouldn't make a special trip to Zaragoza just for this and a few other sites.
Loech M — Google review
It was, without a doubt, an exceptionally impressive church. Unlike many others that I have visited in various cities, this one stood out with its distinctive architectural features and unique atmosphere, setting it apart from the more familiar structures I had previously encountered.

The Plaza of Our Lady of the Pillar, or Plaza del Pilar, is a vibrant and expansive square that serves as the heart of Zaragoza. Surrounded by stunning historic architecture, this pedestrian-friendly area is not only one of the largest squares in Europe but also a hub for cultural events and gatherings. Known affectionately as the 'living room of the city,' it features two magnificent cathedrals: the Basilica del Pilar and La Seo, both architectural marvels worth exploring.

The Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, or simply Plaza del Pilar, is truly the beating heart of Zaragoza and a place that leaves an indelible impression. It's not merely a square; it's an expansive open-air museum, a vibrant social hub, and a spiritual center all rolled into one. Dominated by the awe-inspiring Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, with its numerous domes and towering spires, the plaza immediately commands attention. The sheer scale and architectural grandeur are magnificent, and seeing the basilica up close, especially with the intricate frescoes by Goya inside, is an experience that transcends mere sightseeing. Beyond the basilica, the plaza is surrounded by other significant landmarks like La Seo Cathedral, a stunning blend of architectural styles, and the beautiful Renaissance-era La Lonja. The Fuente de la Hispanidad, a fountain uniquely shaped like a map of Latin America, adds a modern touch and a sense of global connection. Whether it's the lively atmosphere during local festivals or the serene calm of an early morning stroll, the Plaza del Pilar offers something for everyone. It's a place to soak in history, admire artistic masterpieces, and truly feel the pulse of Zaragoza. No visit to the city would be complete without spending ample time exploring this extraordinary public space.

A great plaza flanked either side with glorious churches and beautiful architecture and restaurants on the other side. At one end there is a fabulous fountain that looks like a cracked iceberg. There are lots of water outlets for filling up your bottle but no public toilets. The closest is at the covered market.

Very spacious and beautifully designed square for the public. It didn't feel crowded at all, and there was always an opportunity for photos. No photos are allowed inside the basilica or the cathedral. You can get a very good view of the buildings from the stone bridge. We captured a few nice photos when the sun was going down.

Massive square in the most central spot of Zaragoza! The plaza of our lady of the pillar is in front of the cathedral with same name and has lots of space to walk and take pics, also there are many restaurants and cafes around the square and even under the square! There are stairs to go down. Recommend it!
Maria A — Google review
It is the busiest central area in Zaragoza, located in front of the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar. Additionally, several historic buildings and important landmarks are situated around it. During the Fiestas del Pilar in October, various events and performances, including La Ofrenda de Flores, are held here.

The Plaza of Our Lady of the Pillar (Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar) in Zaragoza, Spain, is a magnificent public square that stands as a testament to the city's rich cultural and religious heritage. This iconic plaza is not only the heart of Zaragoza but also one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain, drawing visitors from all over the world. Dominating the plaza is the stunning Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, an architectural masterpiece that is both awe-inspiring and spiritually significant. The basilica's grandeur, with its multiple domes and towering spires, creates a breathtaking skyline that is best appreciated from the plaza itself. The interior is equally impressive, adorned with exquisite frescoes by Francisco Goya and other renowned artists, as well as the revered statue of Our Lady of the Pillar. The plaza itself is a vibrant and lively space, surrounded by a harmonious blend of historical and modern architecture. It's a perfect place to soak in the local culture, with numerous cafes and restaurants offering delightful Spanish cuisine and the opportunity to relax and people-watch. The square is often bustling with activity, from local festivals and cultural events to street performers and artisans showcasing their crafts. In addition to the basilica, the plaza is home to several other significant landmarks, including the Cathedral of the Savior (La Seo) and the magnificent Goya Monument. These sites offer further insight into Zaragoza's rich history and artistic legacy. The beautiful fountains and well-maintained gardens add to the charm of the plaza, making it a pleasant place to stroll and enjoy the surroundings. Visiting the Plaza of Our Lady of the Pillar is a truly enriching experience. Whether you are drawn by the spiritual significance, the architectural beauty, or the vibrant atmosphere, this plaza offers something for everyone. It is a must-see destination that encapsulates the essence of Zaragoza, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.

The Torre de San Francisco de Borja observation deck is a great place to see stunning views of the city and the river. It's not too expensive, so you can enjoy the experience without worrying about the price.
You can get a panoramic view of Zaragoza's Casco Antiguo, including the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar and the Río Ebro. After taking the elevator up, you need to climb more stairs. Since the elevator operates on a schedule, you might not be able to enter if you’re late. This place can be entered from the Río Ebro side, not from inside the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar. The top is very narrow, accommodating only 5 to 6 people at a time.

Beware of the rude staff at the entrance! We were shocked how such an attitude is tolerated in a religious place like this! His face was extremely unpleasant. There was zero line and nobody at all at the entrance when we arrived so we went into the booth where we met the staff who was just immediately angry because we missed to see the information. He can, as any staff do, guide us and speak politely without a very unpleasant rude attitude so that we will understand the procedure. Besides, that is part of the job, guiding the visitors. Then when he brought us upstairs with the elevator he was extremely grumpy. I hope the management sees this review as such attitude is very improper. The view upstairs is definitely worth the visit. Beware of the steps that still have to be taken after the elevator. It is quite tiring. The viewing area is circular and very limited but luckily there were only 5 of us during our visit.
A S — Google review
Ok view from the top, there is 2 levels the first the elevator goes to giving you outside views through a net. The 2nd level you climb stairs and the view is through glass so not good for photo taking. Probably worth doing if you get the pass.

Great views of the city and worth the €3 you pay. I had a hard time finding it. The guy in the church that works the room with the relics you have to pay to see was not the most helpful. I was told on the right. Well first of all, the big wooden doors were closed, and when I tried to push open seemed locked. There’s just one sign and then nothing. So to help you out, even though photos are not allowed in the church, I took some of only the sign and door. Winds were 26 mph today so I was scared! I swear the tower was moving! But it was worth it. The guy that takes your money and works the elevator may be up and you just wait for him to come down, pay him, and he takes you up. Then you can climb the stairs the rest of the way for the tip top view :)

In September 2024, the entrance fee is 5€. You go up the elevator and then climb the stairs to the top. The view is nice but there is nothing to do for more than 15 minutes. The best option is to buy tickets online, then you can choose the time of your visit.

4€ for a short visit to the tower to get a 360° view of the city.

€3/4 euros to go up and see magnificent views of the city. You only get 15 minutes up there though.

Monasterio de Piedra is a stunning natural park located in Nuevalos, where the Piedra river creates a breathtaking setting around a 12th-century monastery. The park features waterfalls, caves, and lush vegetation amidst an otherwise arid landscape. Visitors can explore the monastery's walls steeped in eight centuries of history since its consecration in 1218.
The park is simply fantastic; spending a day there is a great pleasure for the whole family. The fresh air and the river create a wonderfully warm atmosphere. If you happen to see the birds perform, you're in luck. Come and see.

It is certainly a noteworthy and highly recommended experience in Zaragoza. Initially, one might be taken aback by the 19€ entrance fee for the hike. Nevertheless, after traversing the path, it quickly becomes apparent that it is worth every penny. We visited in October and enjoyed delightful weather. I can imagine that it might be quite warm during the summer months. A small suggestion: opt for the longer hiking route instead of the shortcut, provided you are physically capable, as you will not be disappointed.

Actually, during this photoshoot, we were also driven away. The location itself was quite remote and inconvenient to access—it required about one half an hour of driving from the city center—though the scenery there was truly beautiful. What was infuriating was that just when we were about to leave, an elderly staff member angrily warned us that we shouldn't wear "such Japanese-style clothing" and that we should "wear normal clothes." It wouldn't have been a big deal initially, but he kept pressing us, and that made me angry. I explained clearly that this is, in fact, Chinese-style clothing. But he responded with a dismissive expression, saying, "I don't care which country it's from—you just can't dress like this here." He went on to say a lot of very disrespectful things. We had already explained that other staff outside had allowed us to enter, yet he still confronted us angrily behind our backs. I just want to say: you can be upset if our unconventional clothing disturbed your work, but you shouldn’t discriminate against a character like this. Even if the character I’m cosplaying isn’t a good person, we’re all here out of love for the craft, investing our own time, money, and effort—some of us even traveled four hours from other cities just to be there. In that moment, I nearly lost my temper and felt like cursing at him, just like Xue Yang would have. My friend, cosplaying as Jin Guangyao, probably noticed the look on my face and stepped in to calmly talk to the other party. Anyway, with all that happened, and considering the remote location despite its beauty, I said I won’t be going back again. ---

Absolutely wonderful place to visit. The only things I was missing were the better indications of the pathways. We spend more than 3 hours there photographing and enjoying the beautiful nature. The light was amazing in the morning. It is not suitable for people with wheelchair. Also, there are quite tough parts on the path going up and down the stairs.

I went there for the Spa and the termal waters after I ws on a trip through the Scandinavian and Baltic countries. We'll, it is very sad but there is no a positive way to compare them. This place was more expensive, the water was either very cold or lukewarm and the lack of maintenance was unbelievable, I mean the little mosaics titles were loose in the pools floor. Some of the water taps were not even working, but of course everything was about to be fixed the next day. Typical Spaniard answer. And, even tho the entrance is pricey for what it is the charge you extra for a pool cap.

WOW!! Allow a whole day for this place. Good walking conditions with correct footwear. Lots of waterfalls means lots of damp and slippy areas..but worth it. And don't forget to stop and see the raptors..amazing!! Trying to edit my post 🤞Also, you can follow the path down to the waterfall and go behind it! Follow the steps down to the cave, it's well lit and has handrails. Not for small toddlers or prams and pushchairs...and probly not good for dogs unless they trained in cave rescue!😂but the view from behind the waterfall is sooo beautiful and breathtaking and wet!! Wear your hood up, no umbrellas, you will need both hands to take photos!

Amazing area. If you are in the area, you need to go here. The nature is incredible with tons of green, lots of waterfalls and some caves. A ticket costs around 18 euros but was definitely worth it. The path is around 7km. The monastery is also pretty impressive and free to visit.

This park is worth every penny. About 2.5 hours of absolute nature magic. Recommended early morning, opens at 09:00 and avoid weekends. Bring a picnic as there are nice places to do it, take your time and enjoy nature. Buy your tickets online and bring a professional camera because you will get some amazing shots.
