Santuari de Santa Maria Magdalena is a remarkable sanctuary located in the town of Novelda, just a short ride from Alicante. The church is a popular stop on the Camino de Santiago route and is known for its stunning architecture, reminiscent of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The intricate stone work and beautiful spires make it a must-see for architecture enthusiasts.
Very interesting architecture, almost a mini Sagrada Familia. After visiting the church, it's possible to take a hiking tour in the area. Be aware of the elevation gain, though.
Yuhuan X — Google review
The church stands on a hill overlooking the town of Novelda and with Castillo de la Mola next to it. The church is very unusual and influenced by Gaudi's style and a real architectural gem. Built between 1920 and 1946 the interior is nothing out of the ordinary but the decorated outside, the slender bell towers and the rustic style make it well worth a visit. There is plenty of parking about two thirds of the way up the hill and a lovely cafe in between the church and the castle.
Marcus H — Google review
A fascinating small church just outside Novelda, close to Alicante. It’s worth a visit of around 90 minutes which includes the Mola Castle alongside the church. No entry fee but you are welcome to make a donation. My review will soon be on my Two Passports Packed travel blog which can be found through a Google search.
CHARLES A — Google review
Looks amazing from the outside but it was light, bright and fairly modern on the inside. Spectacular views in the surrounding grounds with a cafe to get light refreshments or a restaurant for a meal. It really was the alround experience.
Mo F — Google review
A short one way climb with the asphalt road to the free parking lot next to the church. Very nice place on the hill with a great view of the surrounding area. In the area there is a free and clean rest room with toilet paper and soap at least in gents part😉
Adam K — Google review
The santuari is very beautiful on the outside and looks like it has been inspired by the Sagrada Familia but on a much smaller scale. The inside is a little plain but still worth a visit. The castle, I didn't enjoy. There isn't much left of the ruins and while there is a step you can climb to the top, it's completely in the dark and without railing so it didn't feel safe. What was also a downside to our visit was the horde of school children yelling and screaming and running around, uncaring that someone was trying to take a picture, and the teachers who had brought a huge speaker and put the music ridiculously loud. If they rented the place for a private event, then close the santuari, if not, someone should be there to keep things in order. You can't really enjoy your cup of coffee in the middle of a club.
Emma S — Google review
Amazing cathedral. Staggering beauty. I really love the architecture of this place. While the stone materials are unique, the soft , flowing architectural shapes are strikingly similar to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Santa Maria Magdalena is a detail-seeker's dream, with the various patterns of stone work. The spires are absolutely beautiful. We were, however, disappointed that opening hours listed on Google were incorrect. Hence, we showed up about 5 minutes too late for an inside tour.
R S — Google review
Beautiful, quiet and calm place. Definitely woth the trip. Not many Maria Magdalena shrines exist in the world. This one is special

Mud Baths Mar Menor

Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
The mud baths at this destination are a popular attraction, drawing many visitors seeking health benefits from being covered in mud. People have reported surprisingly smooth skin after the experience, despite initial skepticism. The water's surface may be cold, but the bottom is warm and offers a unique sensation. While there is a slight smell, the results make it worthwhile. Visitors can enjoy beautiful walks and scenery in the area, with plenty of dining options and opportunities to observe wildlife like pink flamingos.
They say there are only two natural places like this in the world — here and one in Israel, which makes the experience even more special. Entrance is free, which is a big plus! Parking right next to the site can be tricky, but you can usually find a spot within a 10-minute walk from the main road. The air has a slight smell due to the surroundings, but the mud itself doesn’t have an unpleasant odor. There are several piers that provide access to the lagoon, a lot of space for everyone. The piers are often muddy, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to put your belongings down — they may get dirty. Bring a small bowl or container to collect the mud — or someone might lend you one. You’ll usually find plenty of mud just under the piers. Apply it to your skin while on land, let it dry for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off in the lagoon. The water is shallow and pleasantly warm, and the bottom is surprisingly hot in places. There are a few benches around the area — some are located right next to the piers, which is convenient for resting or keeping your things off the ground (and away from the mud). Right across from the lagoon, you can refresh yourself in the sea — without the mud this time! The sea is also shallow and warm.
Petr W — Google review
Fun to do it once. Purely for tourists, locals do not go here :) Collecting the mud from the bottom is a bit tricky, you would need 2 small buckets, one for digging underwater, one for collecting. Water is really hot in places, so watch out :)

Imagine yourself covered in the wonderful mud spa, for free. Even young people enjoy this experience as it feels so good. The smell might be a bit funky, but just think of your future beauty. No worries because this mud spa is all natural and worth a try. After it, you will feel like a brand-new person.
Aggie W — Google review
Good experience, plenty of room for everyone as imagine will be busy in summer months. Lovely beach on other side with lovely bars/restaurants. Free spa experience, albeit a bit whiffy! Parking could be an issue.
Donna D — Google review
This place is so much fun, take a bucket and collect the mud from around the platform where it is thickest. Slap on the mud all over and wait for it to dry. Take a dip Is the shallow knee deep lagoon to wash of the mud leaving your skin feeling soooo soft. A flannel is good to take to help get the mud off afterwards.
Richard K — Google review
Wonderful experience we always visit when we're in the Orihuela area it's a must , exfoliate the mud all over your face & skin, the best bit is a lovely soak in the salt lake skin feels amazing after.
Green1980 — Google review
An interesting experience, there are several piers here where you can get into the sea. There you take mud from the seabed and massage yourself. Then you let the mud dry on your skin and wash it off in the sea. Remember to take a bucket with you to collect the mud.
Marko L — Google review
It looks beautiful, but when you smell it, it can be off putting. There were people already covered in the mud. Things you need to take, sea shoes (it's hot on the floor of the mud flats) a tub to crap the mud into and stand on the pier to put in on. I loved floating in the lagoon to wash of the mud. You need to give it a good scrub to get it off. We were talking to other Brits who were telling us that it helps with their eczema.

Museums
Nestled in the vibrant city of Cartagena, Spain, the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology (ARQUA) is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. This unique museum focuses on the rich underwater cultural heritage of Spain, showcasing an impressive array of artifacts recovered from shipwrecks that span centuries—from ancient Phoenician times to the 19th century.
This museum is beautiful. It is accessible to all. Free to those over 65. It is within a very short walk from the cruise ship pier. They have intriguing artifacts from many shipwrecks. You can see some of the silver and gold coins found by Odyssey and returned to the Spanish government. They have many hands-on activities that intrigue both adults and kids. 90-minutes is more than enough time for this museum. For 3 pounds to enter (unless you are very old or very young) it’s a great deal.

5 stars – Fascinating and beautifully presented! The Museum of Underwater Archaeology in Cartagena is an absolute gem. The exhibits are not only rich in history, but also beautifully curated and easy to explore. We were especially impressed by the stories of ancient shipwrecks and the recovered artifacts – it’s like taking a journey through time beneath the sea. The museum is modern, well-organized, and great for both adults and kids. It’s a perfect stop if you’re interested in history, the sea, or just want to learn something new in a stunning location by the port. Highly recommended!

This is a magical and amazing place to visit with your family and children, allowing you to dive into the history of shipbuilding, when large sailing ships roamed the seas and fired cannons. It’s got a fantastic pirate atmosphere of long voyages.

Super museum! ⭐⭐⭐ I really liked the idea of combining a visit to the museum with a quest. For children to look for superheroes in different locations and win prizes. The children are not bored and it was interesting for us to look at the exhibits. There are a lot of different eras and even interactive expositions where you can interact with different objects. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Took the opportunity to visit during the Museum Night weekend and was super impressed with the exhibits displayed. Though it was quite disappointing to see that not all stations were functioning i.e. interactive buttons does not respond (not sure whether it has been deactivated due to pandemic safety measures). Overall a great exposure to the underwater archeological history and would definitely recommend families to visit as means of educational purposes!

This marine archaeology museum in Cartagena is superb. Amazing artefacts from Phœnician , Roman, Byzantine, Moorish and Spanish wrecks, all incredibly well preserved and conserved. A set of Roman slingshot bullets looked like they were freshly cast, as were ingots of lead, tin and bronze. A big set of very large Roman anchor stocks were a great surprise as they were all well preserved lead castings too. A modern, stylish and very well presented museum. Level access throughout.

Concepción Castle Museum, located on a hill, has served as a fortress for various civilizations and now houses the History and Mediaeval Cartagena Visitor Centre. This was one of the more underwhelming sites of our visit to Cartagena. The cost for entrance to the 'castle'-proper was 3.75 euros per person. Of sites in the city of similar cost this was simply not worth it. The views from the surrounding hill top are just as good (and free). Paying for admission provides you with little additional benefit there is a short video, few artefacts, and the ability to walk through one of the cisterns but this is definitely not worth the money.
Brandon C — Google review
You can either walk up here or take the left but either way other than there being high point of you of the city there was nothing to see here in this fortress. I thought paying three fifty euros was a waste . the restrooms are inside after you pay . you can’t use the restrooms until after you pay.

Teatro Romano de Cartagena

Museums
The Roman Theater of Cartagena is a restored ancient amphitheater originally built during the reign of Emperor Augustus. With a capacity for 7,000 spectators, it has been fully restored and now features a modern museum showcasing remarkable collections and archaeological artifacts. The theater's architectural set is made even more unique by the ruins of the Old Cathedral of Cartagena, which was built over the upper seating sections in the 13th century.
There are two main ways to explore it: 1. For free – You can view most of the theatre from the upper walkway, and don’t miss the narrow alley just below, where you'll find informative panels and photos showing how the theatre was discovered and reconstructed. It’s truly fascinating and gives great historical context. 2. With a ticket – You can enter the site and explore it up close. The ticket likely includes entry to the adjacent cathedral as well. Unfortunately, during our visit, the official website (which is used to purchase tickets and check opening hours) was down, so we weren’t able to go inside. Still, we really enjoyed the visit – even just seeing the theatre from the outside and learning about its history was more than worthwhile. Small tip: If you take the path above the theatre, there’s a small park directly above with a water fountain. The water may not be drinkable, but it's great for a quick refresh on a hot day.

This is a wonderful attraction and the main reason we drove 1 hour to Cartegena. There is an informative exhibition you walk through giving historical information on Cartagena and the Romans. You eventually come out into the Theatre and have to say it looked amazing. This was big enough to seat 7000 people so can only imagine the atmosphere it would have had back in those times. The view from there would have been terrific as well. Two adults were €8 each and 2 students at €7 each. £22.72 for a family of 4 in total. It always amazes me how much cheaper it is to visit places in Europe compared to the United Kingdom. I'm guessing there may be heavier government funding contributing but museums like this are kept immaculate and everyone visiting is very respectful of their surroundings.

We sailed in on the Star Princess. Had a tour through Princess. Amazing museum and ancient ruins. We had the place to our tour group. A few folk were there before and after who were on their own. It is a very large place. When you go in to the museum make certain you look at the ancient founding double wall, built by the Phoenecians.

We visited while on a cruise excursion. We were in a small group, but 50 small groups ='s too many people in a very special place. It definitely a bucket list place to see though!

The Roman Theatre in Cartagena, an Incredible place with a rich history, is a true gem – remarkably well-preserved for its age, over 2,000 years old, it is impressive both in terms of atmosphere and scale. It's a must-see on the Cartagena map – perfect for history and architecture enthusiasts. Tickets aren't necessary just for spectacular photos; it's worth visiting in the evening when everything is beautifully illuminated. The view from the publicly accessible, upper section near Torres Park is excellent and for free.
Falkor — Google review
Beautiful place! We planned to go inside, wouldn't mind paying but ended up from our carpark in the gardens on top of it and found out you can walk all around it with views of it all for free. So if you're not bothered for the museum inside, no need to pay to see the theatre. At the top there are gardens and more to see of a little castle. Whole Cartagena is worth the visit

Ancient amphitheatre and modern museum in Cartegena... a lovely place to spend a few hours taking in the sights and soaking up the history. The town itself has a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, some of which are tucked down little side streets. All of this is a short walk from the beautiful marina.

I just can't understand how places like this get buried or built on top of. I dont understand past rulers or crusades. So much history here and so well preserved. One certainly does not need to imagine much here to see how it actually was. It would be amazing to hear a concert here today.

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Catedral de Murcia, a Roman Catholic church located in Plaza del Cardenal Belluga in the heart of the city, is a renowned example of Spanish Gothic architecture. Construction began in the 14th century and lasted two centuries with several changes made to its original sketch. The building was consecrated in 1467 and has since undergone expansions, repairs, and new chapels. The ornate Baroque facade contrasts with the mainly Gothic-style interior.
The Cathedral of Murcia, built between the 14th and 18th centuries, is a striking symbol of the city’s history and artistic evolution. Originally constructed on the site of a former mosque, it showcases a unique mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Its elaborate Baroque façade is especially impressive, drawing the eye with its dramatic sculptures and intricate detail. The 90-meter bell tower—among the tallest in Spain—was built over several centuries and reflects the architectural changes of its time. Inside, the cathedral features a spacious Gothic nave and numerous chapels, the most notable being the Capilla de los Vélez, known for its ornate star-shaped dome. Visitors can also explore the small museum located in the former cloister, which displays religious art, sculptures, and historical artifacts from the region. Beneath the main altar lies the tomb containing the heart and entrails of King Alfonso X the Wise, a detail that adds both historical and emotional depth to the site. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply enjoying beautiful spaces, the Cathedral of Murcia offers a rich and memorable experience. Entrance is priced at €5 for the cathedral alone and €4 for the museum; a combined ticket for the cathedral and museum is €7.

We loved our visit to the Catedral de Murcia! ⛪️ The architecture is absolutely breathtaking, with its mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque details—you can spend ages just admiring the façade and intricate doors. The plaza in front is vibrant and welcoming, filled with cafés and terraces where we enjoyed a hearty brunch while soaking up the atmosphere. ☕🥐 It was such a nice stopover in Murcia—easy to wander, beautiful to photograph, and full of charm. The cathedral itself is impressive inside and out, and the surrounding square feels like the heartbeat of the city. 🌞 If you’re traveling through Murcia, don’t miss this gem—it perfectly combines history, culture, and a relaxed Spanish vibe. Highly recommended for anyone passing by! 🌟

Beautiful cathedral with a fascinating mix of architectural styles visible from the outside. The details and decorations are absolutely breathtaking, and it really makes you appreciate these kinds of buildings that simply aren’t built anymore. Entrance is €5 for the cathedral alone or €7 if you want to visit both the cathedral and the museum. The downside is that in the museum almost all descriptions are only in Spanish, with just a few objects explained in English. For most of the exhibition you’ll need to rely on Google Translate.

Beautiful cathedral and square with nice options for tapas. We were lucky to visit on Sunday morning to enjoy the services .

The main attraction in Murcia is this magnificent cathedral. The facade has many saints and the structure has many architectural designs. Definitely a must visit.

Beautiful architectural masterpiece. Other elements of the area organically complements the cathedral

Real Casino de Murcia is a private social club and cultural center housed in a stunning 19th-century building with an elaborate facade. Located near the cathedral, visitors can explore the nearby Jardin de Floridablanca, a charming city park with fountains and monuments. The riverside promenades offer green spaces, the Museum of Science and Water, and the Garden of Cypresses.
Over the years visiting Murcia, all we remember is the lack of parking spaces. This time, we found a place. 30min walk, but what an experience. The town and above all, this excellent museum. Discount for OAP's and clean toilets. Above all, an amazing building well displayed and worth the charge to entry. It seems to be soon in use, at least half of it. Despite the translation to casino, we reckon it means old English Club House. Ornate and well restored recently. The translation to "Royal" Also we reckon it means "Real", not the crown. The Ball Room is spectacular. And they host some modern exhibitions. We couldn't stop taking pictures. It means it is worth visiting.

An impressive place that proves luxury and indulgence are nothing new—they have existed at the highest level for centuries. A wonderful experience, especially considering the very reasonable entrance fee.

Impressively pretty inside, with nice flow to go between the rooms and adequate description in brochure. Good entrance fee. Quite compact, you can visit it all in ~45 minutes.

The 19th century Real Casino de Murcia in Murcia, Spain, is a private social club where the local elite could meet. It's still used for that purpose but tourists are also admitted for a fee. Entry to the Moorish Patio is through an Islamic-style horseshoe arch. The design of the Moorish Patio itself was inspired by the Alhambra in nearby Granada. Leaves of pure gold were used by the decorators. The ballroom features gold-coated bronze chandeliers decorated with Baccarat crystal made in Paris in 1886.

We had a long weekend in Murcia. The Old Town in Murcia City is the most wonderful place with so much to see, including the Real Madrid Club, ( nothing to do with football). It is an eclectic collection of the most wonderful, opulent rooms, and is a MUST visit if in Murcia City
Robert H — Google review
Wow 😯 absolutely stunning building with beautifully decorated rooms and decor. The Arab entrance alone has 20,000 individual gold leafs adorning the walls. The ballroom is stunning as well as the English influenced library and Billiard rooms. A must see attraction for only 5 euros ( 3 if you are a retiree)

Just steps from the Cathedral, on the famous Calle Trapería, you can admire the splendid Royal Casino of Murcia. Its extraordinary beauty and elegant interiors earned it the title of National Historic Monument in 1983. Built in 1847 as a luxurious entertainment venue for the city's wealthy elite, it continues to serve this purpose today as a private club with highly select members. After extensive renovations, the casino became "Royal" in 2009, at the behest of King Juan Carlos I. The casino is open to the public, who, with an admission ticket, can access some of the sumptuous interior rooms, immersing themselves in the glittering past of the city's wealthy elite. Aesthetically, the entire building features an unusual combination of different styles from various eras, making it a unique monument. The sumptuous facade, designed by architect Pedro Cerdán Martínez, features classical and modernist decorations, resulting in a highly eclectic result. The entrance to the casino is the most fascinating space, a true Arab patio inspired by the most refined Moorish palaces, such as the Alhambra in Granada and the Alcazar in Seville. Other rooms worth visiting are: the English Library, entirely made of wood; the luxurious Ladies' Hall, with a splendid painted ceiling and gilded oval mirrors; the Pompeian Patio, decorated with classical columns and statues; the Ballroom, built between 1870 and 1875 in neo-Baroque style and adorned with gigantic chandeliers. In addition to visiting the casino's rooms, you can also visit the restaurant and bar and attend exhibitions, displays, and cultural events. Ticket 5€ per person.

Tapas bar
Las Flores Bar is a great place for drinks and tapas with friendly staff. The location is perfect for grabbing a bite before or after exploring the local area.
Visited this tapas bar for some evening food. Paulicarus and Jorvic chose a very fishy selection. Two smoked salmon wraps with crab (?) Filling, a Russian salad, a tuna/tomato empinada and a couple of potato skins. All good. A beer and white wine to accompany. Very quiet on our visit. ( Wednesday night mid April.) Very friendly and helpful staff. 23.1€. Very reasonable.

This is probably my favourite tapas bar in Murcia. Super fresh food at a good and very friendly service. The best part is that the tourists are so busy heading for Plaza de las Flores that they walk straight past, leaving us to have a truly spanish experience with the locals!😉😁

Had an amazing time at this local tapas bar! Food was really good, especially the rollito salmon and croquettes and cheesecake! Waitress was super helpful and patient with our non-existent Spanish, and it was VERY much appreciated. Quite affordable considering how much food we ordered. Would definitely recommend :) Muchas gracias!!

I totally enjoyed our visit here. The caves are surprisingly extensive and lovely and cool. The tour ended with tasting their excellent wines and a dish of meats, cheese and mini breads. Capped off with a gift of the rather lovely glass's in which our wines were served, Which leaves each of us with a souvenir of a happy day (they will be getting frequent use:)

A disappointing visit today. We had booked 32 euro tickets for an English speaking tour and travelled from England via calpe staying in jumilla for 3 nights to visit the bodegas only to find that they could not trace our reservation although we had the details to hand. We were advised that we could take the spanish tour with a guide who spoke some English (very little if any). It is a lovely place but a lot of money for 3 of us when we came away having learned nothing about the wine industry in jumilla. We spoke very politely to the man at the till who had a good grasp of English to be told he could do nothing for us we needed to contact his boss. The wine tasting at the end was very good but there is no doubt we were let down and had we known we would not have gone. Be warned please make sure you are getting what you paid for. As a wine producer of large standing I would have thought you could have at least compensated us with a bottle of wine! But no we even had to ask for the wine glasses which were part of the 32€ package. We have had 3 lovely days in jumilla and much better service & value elsewhere in the town. What a shame!

One of the best vine tasting experiences I had. Guided tour in english cause we traveled with some British friends. If you can afford, buy the middle price tour for EUR 32.00 and you will probably be in a smaller group of people. Luzon produces excellent wines

Had a wonderful visit with the family yesterday. Tour was interesting and the facilities was beautiful. Tasting was informative and generous. Could only book a basic experience due to time constraints. Will hopefully be able to visit again for the exclusive tour. Thank you. /Anders

Great booking service and warm welcome when we arrived. First time for us in a vineyard so we had no expectations. We had the luck to be alone and could ask questions during the tour. Christina was very comfortable in her guiding and could answer any questions we had without problems. Her English was very good and we had no problems understanding. Since this is after harvest we had no option to taste the grapes, but got a tasting of three wines after the tour. I do recommend Christina and her colleagues.

Reserved an English speaking tour over the phone, but when we arrived the tour was in Spanish. When I told the guide some of my group couldn’t understand, and we booked the English speaking tour, the guide said “you don’t have to stay you can leave”. Disappointing after a 1 and a half hour drive that some of my group could not understand anything and were told the solution is to leave or join the Spanish tour. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a common problem here. In terms of the tasting, I have been before and they have since really scaled back. Not as much of a selection of food as was in the past and less wine / they have started giving some of their cheapest wines for the tasting. This is strange, because I know Luzon has some great wines. It’s also in contrast to other wineries in Jumillia where you sample their best wines (and would make sense because it incentivises people to buy them? But I would not buy any of the wines given at the tasting in Luzon). Odd all round. I also remember in the past we could sample other wines at the bar after the tasting to see if we wished to purchase, but they have also stopped this. It’s a shame, it used to be a great tasting / tour which is why I came back with friends to share the experience, but it now feels like it’s all about making max profit at the expense of quality. Would be great if they went back to how they conducted and organised the tour in the past. That was definitely worth the visit.

This was a treat for someone who had travelled to here via Calpe. We were booked on an English speaking guide. When we arrived there was no English speaking guide, We were advised to jion a Spanish group. .The guide spoke very little English. Although we understood the basics of wine making it was a disappointment that we did not get what we had asked for the tastings would have been informative. . When we approached the desk to address our concerns there was no one who wanted to take responsibility for the oversite. All the gentleman on the desk wanted to do was pass the complaint on . He did not want to try and rectify the situation. . Also the free glass were not very forthcoming which was included in the price.

Spas & Wellness
Balneario de Archena is a casual spa resort offering simple rooms and suites, making it a great place for families to relax and enjoy. The hotel provides quality services and has its own charming style. Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot spring pools, as well as access to the balenario for an additional fee. While the food at the on-site restaurant is considered average, the overall experience is pleasant with clean rooms and comfortable beds.
We booked a couple plus Balneario in the spa for a Thursday daytime. I tried to book online but the website wasn’t working properly and didn’t allow me to book, I tried to call the English speaking number, unfortunately no one answered the ringing telephone. I got in touch with the spa via WhatsApp and was answered very quickly, I asked for someone who can speak English as Afraid I do not speak Spanish. Someone came on within a minute or two, they answered all of my queries, checked availability and booked the spa deal for me. There was a check my credit card worked with a 1 cent withdrawal and refund and I was told I would pay on arrival. All Costs were very clear, I was told to bring a padlock, flip flops and swimming hat with me, if I didn’t have them I could purchase upon arrival. We arrived, parked and walked in, I was greeted by a lovely lady at reception who asked an English speaking colleague to assist me, everything was very straightforward and we had no issues. We went into the spa, got changed locked everything away and headed off to the massage, what a wonderful place! We loved it, needed up spending 7 hours in the spa/pool area. Everything was very clean and well maintained, every member of staff was helpful and polite, even the maintenance guys we saw checking the pool said hello and smiled at us. Everything was working, we had no problems or issues at all. The cafe by the pool was not expensive. We will be coming back next year and will be telling everyone we know to come. Thank you for an amazing day out!

The staff was very unfriendly. The young blonde lady at the reception didn't bother to be courteous or friendly, wouldn't tell us about the possibility of renting bathrobes, didn't care if we had any children and elderly people with us ( and we did) , she wouldn't show us around, didn't explain the options, super cold and unwelcoming. She literally did nothing except throw the locker keys at us and demand the extra 5 euros and the bathing caps, for €6, which we already brought with us . The thermal spas outside were clean and we'll maintained. The location is awesome I just wish the staff were friendlier, would have been a much nicer experience.

We had our wedding here may 23rd, it was amazing! The nature and the atmosphere was just what we wanted. Even though it was a rainy day and we had planned for a wedding outside Laura solved everything and always kept me calm and updated. It has been so easy to work with her and she always had a solution for everything. I dont think i could have made it without all of lauras help! We will always be greatful for all that Laura did for us 🙏🙏🙏

This is a place we go to regularly on day trips, as we live close enough not to need to stay in the hotels. The pools are amazing and the food in the restaurant is great. Staff are lovely, especially if you try your best spanish on them. Would thoroughly recommend

We’ve been coming here as a family for years as we holiday relatively close-by, unfortunately I’m not sure we’ll be frequently now. The facilities are the same but the cost increases with every visit. At nearly €100 for a family of 4 on a Sunday it is not good value. I appreciate it’s a different experience but it is now cheaper to go to Aqualandia or Aqua Natura. To me it seems crazy that their prices are comparable.

We stayed in the Hotel Thermas, which is a lovely ancient building with such character. Inside, it's clean and bright, infact we watched the cleaners each day not only cleaning in general but literally getting ladders and wiping down each lamp hanging from the ceiling. We stayed in the junior suite, not a thing out of place, not a stray hair, not a bit of dust- our cleaner Gloria did an amazing job. We had 3 people in our room, they gave us 6 towels, 3 bathrobes, a fridge, 2 tvs, a king bed and a pull out in the other small room, walk in shower with 2 sinks, ac in both rooms, tea and water available with a kettle. There's 3 hotels that all share the thermal baths. There's an inside and outsise area, we preferred the inside as it was warmer and had more bubble chairs, sprayers, and "lazy rivers". The common areas were spotless, the unisex bathrooms were spotless. There's a bar available at the baths so you can have a drink and snack without leaving the area. The spa itself was reasonably nice except my daughter and I had the same massage but we had different massages, so im not sure if they are certified RMTs. We also had drills blasting during our massage so it wasn't totally relaxing. Our massage was in the area attached to the office to get into the pools. Food wise, there's a few places. We had breakfast at the hotel, which is buffet style and has a pretty goos selection of pastry, fruits, juices, and bacon and scrambled eggs. The hotel also has a very basic dinner available, it didnt look appealing at all. There's a more upscale place within the pool area opposite the bar, but we didn't attend as there wasn't any vegetarian options. The casino was the best spot, it offered drinks, snacks, and a few mains and desserts. Otherwise, you have to go into the town to get more selection, which I recommend. Scenic little place, super clean, and relaxing. Also, lovely amount of cats who love some pets.

Playa de Bahía, located in the province of Murcia in Spain, is a popular beach known for its fine golden sand and calm waters. It has been awarded the Blue Flag certification for its clear waters and excellent amenities including lifeguard services and facilities for individuals with special needs. The beach is family-friendly with a designated area for children to play safely. Additionally, there are efforts to discourage smoking on the premises.
Best beach ever. - Perfect sand. - Water excellent. - Lot of free space. - Super bathing waves. Overall super conditions.

Fantastic beach. Beach bar only there from Easter onward. Nice gentle slopping beach. Good sandy beach not stoney like others near by.

We went in February and it wasn't busy at all. The temperature was a good 19 degrees, so not too cold and not too warm. There weren't many shops open as it was out of season, but it was still nice to chill and make sandcastles on the beach with my son. If you want a relaxing day with not many people, then this is a perfect time to go in Feb. We spent a week around the area and there was a lot to see on foot. Easy to get from the airport and didn't take too much time to get there. It would be interesting to see what it would be like in the peak periods of the year, but I can imagine that the beaches would be packed and the temperature would be really hot. Of course you may like that. We did think about getting a couple of bikes as there is a bike shop nearby (walking distance) but we didn't have time to do this as we had planned other things. There were no public toilets about so be warned, but the cafe/restaurant nearby did allow us to use it for our little one. We did end up eating there in the end.

Unusual sandstone rock formations eroded by wind & water, next to a popular swimming beach.
This is a beautiful place to visit. I live near here and often visit the local beach and local restaurants. The erosions are stunning and in the summer month's they are often the lit up backdrop for many concerts. There is plenty of parking, a great beach and lots of places to eat and drink. Beautiful at sunset and wonderful nightlife during the summer, as well as concerts and fiestas

A beautiful and interesting place. Apart from the huge sandstone formations, driving just a few kilometers further on, there is a mini-nudist beach, as well as a giant swing overlooking the sea.

Interesting rock formations next to a nice beach area and large car park. If staying in the area and looking for a relaxing afternoon, it's worth a trip here. There are a couple of restaurants too.

Beautiful and impressive sandsculptures. There is a QR code to take you to the detailed information about the sculptures in English, however its disappointing that you first have to sign up to the town's newsletter so we didn't bother. Also the enormous and EMPTY (in January) car park only allows a 4 hr stay so you can't park there overnight if visiting restaurants.
Penny H — Google review
Free parking the water is so much more clearer than mazarrón beach and you have oasis bar which has great food and service
Sandra B — Google review
Great point of interest. Perfect viewpoint and stunning creation by nature. Reason for the 4/5 is the lack of protection and preserving of this landmark by the responsible authorities. Keep in mind that there is no protection (fencing/danger signs) on top of the location. Keep in mind that this location is created by erosion and that collapse of the edges on top is a potential danger.

Really fascinating place. Comparable to the Hoodoos in Drumheller, near Calgary in Canada. Well worth a visit. Great road trip down through the mountain pass.

Alhama Signature Golf is home to the Bokao Bar, which has recently unveiled two tantalizing summer menus featuring a delectable array of dishes. Located at the Al Kasar Commercial Centre within Condado de Alhama Golf Resort, this dining spot promises a delightful culinary experience with new additions and beloved favorites to satisfy your cravings.
Now this place is interesting and different. The clubhouse facilities are basic, to say the least, and the course is in the middle of nowhere. It's like the Wild West. But don't be fooled .... the course is excellent. It's an incredibly challenging layout. Really quick greens, and good practise facilities. Apparently, this place suffered after covid, and it's under new ownership, but this course deserves to be up there with the best. Give it a chance, you won't be disappointed.
Ben D — Google review
Relatively decent course however it is not in the best condition. Greens were the exception, firm yet receptive and very true. Overall the course needs some TLC. A lot of bare patches on the fairways. Challenging course but overrated based on the reviews I have read online.
Gareth P — Google review
Played the course yesterday out of this world. My brother in law who has played many courses over Europe he said one of the best if not the best testing course he's ever played. The new management and grounds team have really made the difference fantastic. I am proud as a resident to say I live on the course stunning. Can't wait to play again this testing, challenging course with fantastic greens.
Paul J — Google review
Course needs some investment in fairways. Greens in good condition but slow (high summer so probably expected). Nice setting and delightful course layout. Really testing and quite long from whites. Some great holes with every club in the bag tested (unusual).
Andrew G — Google review
To be fair some of the fairways were in need of repair but that was due to the flooding the weekend before the greens were fantastic I would definitely be back to give it another go but we'll done to the greenkeepers
Chris O — Google review
The course is very nice but unfortunately I had a bad experience with my booking. I purchased a package from their leaflet in their reception that was 2 x18 holes golf, 2 x buggies & 2 x bottles of water. When i arrived they told me that it was a printing error & there was only 1 x buggy. I spoke to the manager & he told me it was 1 buggy or I could have my money back!!!! What an attitude to have with a customer. The real problem was i brought my son with me to enjoy the day & it ended up that I had to walk the course because there was obviously only room for 2 in the buggy. If there is a printing issue with an offer then the leaflets should have went in the bin or print out a sticker & put them over the offer that is incorrect!!!!! Don't display an offer & accept payment for that offer to then make changes when it is being redeemed. Over 36* I had to walk 18 holes, thats just bad form oh & in case I am forgetting there where about 20 x buggies sitting there not being used & we where the last 18 hole round with buggies!!!!!!!! You need to sort this out & be more professional about your management.
Andre C — Google review
It's great to start seeing this course come back to life. Greens were immaculate. Still a few bare patches on the fairways and some bunkers in poor condition, but they r working 2 get it back .

(Translated by Google) The Sanctuary is very well cared for and all the construction is handmade, the Segura River passes through there when it is still a river, it is beautiful, fast-flowing and with clear water, it is worth seeing. There is also a souvenir shop, barbecues and a restaurant, although it is expensive and the food does not meet the expectations of the area, it is better to eat in a restaurant in the town. Castillo San Juan de las Aguilas

Mentioned on
6 lists
Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Castillo San Juan de las Aguilas is a historic maritime fortification with stunning views over the town. The entrance can be a bit tricky to find, but once you make it up there, the panoramic views make it all worth it. The castle features interesting displays and story boards that tell its history, although they are in Spanish. However, translation apps can help with that. Accessibility is better than expected for an old castle situated high above the city.
We parked on the harbour front (free) and walked the short distance to the colourful steps. These lead to a road that arcs around, ending at a restaurant and the lift, and steps, that take you to the castle entrance. I think admission was €4 but it may have been €2 each, not sure. The castle is an eighteenth century artillery fort that has great views over the port. Inside, each of the small rooms is an exhibition on the history of the fort, living conditions, local geology etc but all in Spanish only. You can access the roof where the cannons were situated and also a walkway down to presumably a lower battery position. The restaurant by the lift also has a panoramic terrace and is great for a coffee or dinner.

Way up is only a few minutes, great view from the top. Museum is interesting, entry is €2 for adults, kids are free. Unfortunately, all signs are in Spanish only.
David R — Google review
Great small fortress. It is not a proper castle, as it is quite small. It is a small fortress located in an amazing place with incredible views of the city of Aguilas. It is a bit demanding to walk up the hill to the entrance (lift is out of service since 07 August 2024), so avoid the midday hours as the combination of sun, heat and climbing up can get you very sweaty. Ot is worthy the walk though. There is a restaurant close to the entrance, also with great views of the city
Fra S — Google review
Doesn't worth a detour. Strengthenous hike uphill. Nice view, free parking at the harbor
Nik — Google review
Interesting place with a stunning view. The signs with information are in Spanish, but there are translation apps you can use for that, where you just hold the mobile camera over the text and it automatically translates it to your language. Anyways, the accessibility is above expectation, considering the fact that it is indeed an old castle situated high above the city. There is a rather spacious elevator which takes you up to the castle, but some places can only be reached by using narrow stairs. The man that was in the ticket shop on the day of our visit was super friendly and very helpful. Ticket price is 2 euros/adult, and kids are free. You can only pay in cash.

Nice maritime fortification with small displays here and there throughout. Lovely views over the town.Interesting story boards telling the history of the Castle but unfortunately as a non Spanish speaker I couldn't interpret them. The Castle is well worth taking the time to visit. If you have very limited mobility you need to get someone to drop you off by car beside the lift which will take you up to the Castle itself. I'm not sure what people such as a previous reviewer expect of a defensive Castle perched on a hilltop or cliff. It goes without saying that accessing such a structure will require prior planning if you have limited mobility. Here they have even provided a lift which is unusual and also helpful. I guess there's no pleasing some people. Nice views, interesting historical displays and plenty of information/storyboards. Were I Spanish I'd probably still be there reading them. Very nice indeed.

It’s a lovely relaxing place to visit with plenty of information about the castle and the history of the area, and wonderful views. We arrived about 8pm after a bracing walk up from the town. The light was lovely at this time. The entrance was free which is a rare pleasure!

muBBla, museo de Bordado Paso Blanco

Specialty Museums
muBBla, museo de Bordado Paso Blanco is a museum located in Lorca, Spain, established by the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre. It showcases over 1,500 hand-embroidered pieces with silks and gold, some dating back to the 19th century. The museum aims to preserve and display these exquisite works that have been used in the annual Holy Week processions in Lorca since the 16th century.
I am not really into embroidery and was just visiting to keep the wife happy. Well, I was absolutely gobsmacked by the beauty of the work here. We never knew you could make embroidery so realistic, even replicating the sheen off a persons face, as detailed as a painting. The painted dome was also equally impressive, Lorca’s own mini Sistine chapel.. It is well worth the entry fee of 3€ or 2 for 5€, even if the exhibits are quite limited in number.
Greg T — Google review
This museum is just fantastic, is an old church and is really beautiful , all altar in gold look Like u come to heaven :) ! And the peace’s are incredible ! 4€ entrance! Highly recommend
Dani C — Google review
Wow, how good was this surprising museum. A real wow factor. Videos to show the fiestas and events the embroideries were used at. Often on horse back. Amazing colours and condition. This demonstrated the ongoing skills and expertise of the Spanish traditions and how important this is to the Spanish people. And then there is the chapel. The extra surprise, so amazing.
Helen P — Google review
Fantastic exposition! Reason enough to travel to Lorca. Unfortunately there is almost no information but in Spanish or I couldn’t find it. The videos of the procession are interesting but of poor quality. I am sorry the possibly equally interesting Museo Azul was closed when I arrived there.

Castle of Lorca

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Castle of Lorca is a towering medieval fortress that offers tours, events, and a casual courtyard eatery. It provides wonderful views of the surrounding area and has well-preserved historical elements coexisting comfortably with an upmarket hotel. The original synagogue is beautifully preserved and presented, while there's also a small cafe with a performance area. Accessible by private coach or car, free parking is available just outside the castle. Visitors can explore three walking routes around the outside, offering amazing views below.
Lovely castle, which is kept well. You can walk round the gardens for free, pay €4 for each tower or €10 to see all 3. Each tower opens for 45 minutes at 12:00 13:00 and 14:00. We saw all 3 & I would recommend this. The carpark at the bottom is free to park. There is a steep walk up to the castle, and the walks can also be difficult, I wouldn't advise this for people with mobility difficulties. The lady on the front desk was really friendly and knowledgeable about the castle and the ruins. We had a drink and ice cream from the shop which were reasonably priced. The staff in the cafe were also very friendly, the cafe was clean and tidy inside and out.
Karen G — Google review
Excellent visit, staff exceptionally helpful and even contacted taxi company to retrieve our lost phone. They arranged for delivery to castle and got it back to us within a couple of hours. Amazing. Views from towers are awesome and evening dinner with music a wonderful experience. Unfortunately a couple of sights closed due to restoration but still well worth the visit.
Jacqueline H — Google review
Gorgeous place to visit, stroll through the garden and stop at the Cafe for a drink soaking up the views. To get into the towers it costs 10 euro per person or just walk through the grounds for free. Have to say we'll worth the 10 euros.
Andy H — Google review
Beautiful place for a day out, but be prepared for the walking up hills. As you probably can see, it's perched on a mountain and the car park is 3 quarters up. You pay to go in yhe various towers, but the grounds are free to roam around. Great few hours with family and the club sandwich is highly recommended as well 👌
Matthew J — Google review
Lovely place to visit, not to long of a day, but beautiful gardens and grounds, very informative and a nice day out would recommend
Dan J — Google review
This castle had some great history and a good walking tour via a fre app. The castle itself is basically a walled area on top of a hill overlooking the surrounding areas. So views are fantastic. However, if you are expecting more buildings to wander around, you will be disappointed. There are a fee towers that have been reconstructed, but there is a cost to enter them. Entry to the grounds and cafe is free.
Chris C — Google review
The drive up the hill is an adventure. When you are nearly at the top you can enter the free car park. A short but steep walk up to the castle. Entry is free and if you'd like to take the guided tours, it is €10 pp for the three on offer. A well preserved example of the last millennium of Islamic, Jewish and Catholic rule on this important frontier
Kiff — Google review
Looks spectacular and enticing from the A-7 road but absolutely not worth the visit. The castle scores points for the overall appearance from a distance and the setting and views from it as it is situated on a hilltop with fine vistas of the surrounding countryside but once you get out of the car and pay the admission fee the experience is very disappointing. Virtually nothing worth seeing on site as the synagogue is an excavation site and not worth the 4 euro (there should be no admission price at all as what little there is can be seen in one minute), the Espolon tower has good views from the top but is very basic and when we visited the Alfonsina tower which is the most impressive structure on the site wasn't even open. We were really looking forward to visiting this castle and took a lengthy detour from Cartagena to get there and we wished we hadn't. Much better castles to spend your time and money on than this one.

Great track and location, but the sessions are very short at only 8 minutes. We loved it, but when you work it out, €20 for one session (this is the fastest karts) equates to €150 per hour!

I would book before to ensure you get a time slot on the main track. Kids were happy using the small track.

First I did a stint on the kids track with my 10 year old daughter, she in de the kids kart and me in a tandem, but alone. Simply Lovely. Then I did a stint alone in the F300 kart, on the big track of course. The F300 was very fast and grippy, the track is great to race on. Virtually no waiting time for both rides. Very much recommended!!!
Phil D — Google review
Whoever lives in GARRUCHA actually should try out this place. Yes it is only 400m long but it is a power circuit with decent amount of high-speed and low speed corners. However the only problem with this track is that it doesn't have a lapboard, so my dad had to use his phone in order to monitor my lap-times. Another weakness is that the karts have amazing sounds but also becoming outdated; TIME TO UPGRADE FOLKS!!! But otherwise, it was good fun and I am looking forward to come again this August

Beautiful short walk. Very well maintained and very clean. It seems only fair that there is a very small access fee.

Beautiful and peaceful riverside walk. Wooden walkway provides spectacular views of the river and rockface. There is a small cave to navigate, along with a suspension bridge. The village is also well worth a visit.
Rod — Google review
It is VERY short. I initially didn't mind paying for the path because that helps maintaining it, but it was way too short for that price. It was nice though but I would not do it again. Half of the circular path is not really beautiful and you are not allowed to turn back and go through the tunnel again.
Kati E — Google review
This is a very pleasant boardwalk next to the river and through the gorge. There is now a €2.50 fee per person where before covid it was free. Plenty of parking available. You can walk there and back or walk up the hill to the beautiful village and then back down again, it is quite steep but well worth the effort. There was a bar restaurant at the end of the boardwalk but now appears to be closed with a note saying due to the fee now being charged there are less visitors? A real shame if this is the case.
Mark P — Google review
Beautiful but only 600mtrs long.Took us 30 minutes to walk.
Rosco — Google review
Short but impressive. The new charge is a bit excessive for what it is and the bar at the end has closed in protest at the high price. Exciting walk with suspended walkway and a hanging bridge and a tunnel. Easy river access, and all well maintained. The highlight of the village.

Inside the building we can see the image of the Virgin of Tíscar, this being not the original; You can also see several figures and some paintings. The exterior of the building has great charm, since its complete cobblestone structure makes it striking. The belfry with three semicircular arches with bells and crosses on the cover is one of the most important elements. The arch of the door also has several figures. Guadix is a town in the province of Granada that occupies part of an elevated plateau among the northern foothills of the Sierra Nevada. When I visited the town I thought it a rather quirky sort of place. I had driven there from Almería and as I approached the town it appeared to be set amidst a lunar landscape. The town centre is conventional enough. The Cathedral with its Baroque tower looked impressive from the outside but inside I felt that it was rather dark and gloomy. It stands in the Plaza de Constitución and this area of the town, the Barrio de Santiago, has many fine buildings. There are two other districts in Guadix - the Barrio de Santa Ana and the Barrio de la Cuevas. The Barrio de Santa Ana is the old Moorish quarter that consists of a network of narrow alleyways with whitewashed house, decked out with floral arrangements. However, the most famous feature of the town is the cave dwellings in the Barrio de la Cuevas where around half the population live. When I visited the area, I thought that I was in a scene from 'The Lord of the Rings'! It was just like 'The Shire' - with little white chimneys poking out of the ground! The caves are not primitive dwellings, however but are a solution to the fierce heat of the Andalucian summer. The interior of the cave houses are cool in summer and warm in winter and have all the necessities of modern living - it is quite strange seeing television aerials on the little hillocks!

This adventure was absolutely incredible!! We speak very little Spanish and still could get the things our guide said and the jokes he made. The views were incredible and unlike a normal boring trail ride the locations were absolutely unforgettable. The horses we were given matched our riding experience and my favorite was the charcuterie and beer afterwards. I would recommend this to ANYONE visiting here!

Victor took us on an amazing 2-hour hack, introducing us to the horses first (my boyfriend had only ridden twice before, 30 years ago!) and making us feel really comfortable and welcome. No rushing. Horses were great, very reliable and in good condition. Hack was absolutely stunning and Victor is as much of an entertainer as he is a great and knowledgeable horseman! With both interesting and funny stories to share, his charm definitely added to the experience. After the hack we were invited to a beer and some snacks and we chatted for quite a bit overlooking the mountains, it was the perfect ending to a fabulous ride. The time and attention that was put into us and the ride is incredible for that price as well. Worth a mention! Very much recommended!! And we will 100% be joining for more rides in the future!

We had such a great time with Victor and the horses. The joining instructions were very clear and we found the farm without a problem. We were briefed and equipped with helmets and we met the horses. Victor spoke great English. We rode above 2000 meters and had a beautiful lunch of local produce and a beer. Victor was excellent and very generous with his time and jokes. We enjoyed our time at Cortijo de las Encinllas very much. Memories well worth the time spent. Very much recommended.

Best horse riding in the Sierra Nevada! Victor and his family are really wonderful people. Our ride up into the snowy mountains was one of the most beautiful days of my life! I will definitely be coming back.

We had a beautiful ride through the Sierra Nevada ranges. The horses are so well looked after and the attitude is the horse and the relationship comes first. Candido out guide was so much fun , very kind , kept us safe and allowed me a good few canters. Great lunch ! Too much . All fresh .. lots of water troughs along the way for horses and riders to cool down. Really fantastic place. Victor was great to deal with, so friendly and helpful. Couldn't rate it highly enough.

My sister and I had a fantastic day out with Victor. The horses were a dream and so lovely to ride. The surrounding views and scenery were breathtaking and it was throughly enjoyable. Victor was friendly and helpful and the horses were well looked after. Will definitely be back for another ride!

I wish I could give this more than five stars. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had the absolute privilege of riding with Victor in this beautiful part of the world. Victor's horses were kind-natured, beautiful, funny and strong. They took us high up into the Sierra Nevada to see some of the most stunning mountains we have ever seen. Victor was unbelievably kind, organized and friendly - we truly felt like guests. Victor organized the transportation for us from Granada to his farm. He matched us up with the perfect horses for our skill level, and always made us feel both excited and safe. I highly recommend booking a ride with Victor, and am already planning my next one. 10/10. The photos do not do it justice!

One of the best experiences I have ever had. Victor is an absolute star and matched me perfectly to my lovely horse. Amazing lunch of local food, wine and fun. I had never been on a horse before and I loved it.

Chocolate Abuela ili

Chocolate cafe
Shopping
Chocolate Abuela ili is a must-visit for chocolate lovers, offering a wide variety of dark, milk, and white chocolates at great prices. The shop provides delicious samples and helpful recommendations from friendly staff. In addition to chocolates, they also offer ice cream, milkshakes, hot chocolate, and more. Visitors can enjoy the mini museum showcasing information about chocolate making while indulging in free samples and flavorful ice cream.
Be sure to visit this chocolate factory where you can see the production part through the glass and downstairs in the store you will see lots of different products in different flavors. A bag of sample products for each visitor.

In my opinion, it’s worth trying different options and choosing your favorite. The ingredients are quite decent, although the soy lecithin is a bit concerning. I tasted a few kinds: I liked the dark chocolate with nuts, but the bar with coconut was not as good. It felt too oily, and the chocolate flavor wasn’t noticeable at all. Another plus is the beautiful packaging. It looks festive, so it could easily work as a gift.

Great variety of delicious chocolates and ice cream. They also have milk shakes, hot chocolate, and orange juice. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They gave out a small bag of chocolate samples to visitors. As you enter the store, you will see info displayed on the walls about chocolate making. There’s a ramp going downstairs, which is wheelchair/stroller accessible.

Lovely little mini museum and shop! The free samples were amazing and we brought an amazing tub of ice cream! Double chocolate and mint chocolate chip!

Overrated, very overpriced and all chocolate had a very strange after taste.. left with the feeling of having been ripped off.

This chocolate shops sells so many different types of dark, milk, and white chocolate that you wouldn't find anywhere else, at a very good price at about €1.50 for a small bar. The chocolate is fantastic quality and I loved the variety such as blueberry and banana. There is an English menu on the reverse of the Spanish menu which is very helpful when ordering. The staff were very accommodating around the language barrier but were friendly and welcoming. You also get a small packet of testers which I liked, although this does contain a piece with nuts. They also sell milkshakes and ice cream in a wide variety of flavours. The kitchen is behind the counter, where they make the chocolate, and there is information about the chocolate in the entry hallway, although this is in Spanish. I would not describe the shop to be wheelchair friendly as it is underground and the slope to it is quite steep.
