A free scenic attraction in beautiful mountainous wooded surroundings. The pools are quite large and very pleasant in the hot weather. Recommend sand less or something with a grip and the stone is slippery especially where algae is present. The parking charge was reasonable and paid on exit. No charge further charges. The walk to the pools took about 20 minutes on foot. Or you can get a free shuttle bus that departs every 20 minutes. There is a restaurant near the pools, but we didn’t use it.

Unique experience to cool down in the natural waters, however do not expect shadows (or very few) to chill after a bath. Can be accessed by an uphill walk of 1 km on a sunny dirt road. Toilets and a great restaurant nearby.

Beautiful natural scenery, a small river flows through a granite valley and forms countless beautiful pools, many of which are suitable for swimming. There is a paid parking lot at the beginning of the valley, and a marked hiking trail leads through the valley. The trail is challenging in places, but even children can manage it.

The spot that everyone comes to take a swim is very crowded which lost the tranquility of the place and the water was not as clear as the other part. HOWEVER!!! if you want to dodge that and enjoy the beauty of the your “private pool”, walk down a little bit more there are tons of small rivers that you can find. The water was pristine and the scenery was a WOW!!

The way to this Piscines it's really nice and great to have a good hiking, but location of piscines isn't so nice and the water it's very dirty.

Beautiful river with lots of waterfalls and lagoons. There are quite a lot of tourists, but you can find a place without tourists. The path is a little broken, but it can be done. Children love it here.

At 11am, we’ve ordered 2 cappuccinos at an almost empty restaurant. We were served two cups of warm milk with barely dissolved instant coffee or similar substance floating on top although they have an espresso machine. Upon politely asking whether our order was misunderstood, we were informed in no uncertain terms that “chez nous le cappuccino est comme ça”. Best avoided.

This place is fantastic. We visited in 2024 on an organised trip and ran out of time so came back again this year. The animals are well cared for and they are very active. Great for adults and children alike and good value in my opinion. We allowed two hours this time but we could have done with two and a half.

Well worth a visit. A huge selection of turtles and tortoises in beautiful surroundings. A large portion of the enclosures are under shade, which was very welcome. In more open areas there were two overhead walkways that sprayed a fine mist underneath. Food prices seemed reasonable. Lots of parking (free). And don’t worry, if you see an upturned turtle they can right themselves.

There are really a lot of interesting types of turtles. We spent about 2.5 hours on the visit. But at the end, the kids got bored with just watching the turtles. But we also saw and caress two cats.

Seems like animals Are being taken care of and they have enough space . Well kept Environment. One star less because we couldn’t see all animals. Especially wanted to see an alligator turtle :/ and some animals have been moved to a greenhouse (probably too cold for them ). There’s a small cafe . Service friendly

My second visit. Very excited well organised and educational. Parking space a bit crowded, even on weekdays.

Makes for a beautiful, and interesting drive. The roads are very narrow in places and many of the passing points get filled with other road users opportunistically using them as parking so they can get photos of the views, which means you need to be careful of people on the road as well. We ended up driving through in both directions at about 6pm. The roads weren't too busy and worth it for the views. We then parked at the tête de chien (small roadside parking on both sides of the road, space for 10-15 cars in total.) The walk from there is very pleasant and marked with yellow spray paint at key turning points. If you are confident and careful enough, there are some very impressive views to be had by taking a few steps off the track and pushing through the shrubs at certain places.

Its a beautiful, astonishing road along the west coast of Corsica but be ready for a very patience and careful drive! There could be goats&cows on tje road as well as very vwry narrow road above the coast. Be careful.

Spectacular rocks with the street moving in between. Parc the car on the side of the road and take a little walk along the street. Pay attention to driving cars.

Awesome eroded red rock formations, many looking ready to break loose! Beautiful views with sheer drops to the sea. Grab any and all small parking spots then walk usually less than 100m to get best views. Drive careful on the many blind corners!

Spectacular views! The road is awfully narrow, and you have to be on the look out for tour buses and cyclists (there are small places to pull off along the road), but this is truly a jaw dropping view. Photos can’t do it justice.

Absolutely loved it! I hadn't spend that much time in a museum. They displayed several objects, machinery and tools used in the Corsican daily life of the last century. The history of the beautiful Cittadella is well explained and it's accessible only through the museum.

This informative and enjoyable ethnographical museum showcased the life of the Corsican people. The audio-guide in multiple languages was a great addition, enhancing the experience. The comfortable environment, with good air and AC, made it a pleasant visit. The polite and friendly staff further contributed to the positive atmosphere. The ticket price of 5.5 euros per adult was reasonable. The museum also delved into the lives of women on the island, providing valuable educational insights. Included in the ticket was the opportunity to explore the citadel, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was great and recommended visit. 😊

It is a nice museum founded in old fortress, but there is one problem. All in french, There is a lot to see of old Corsican Life, how they lived centuries ago. And the ticket was only 3€ so that is a plus. From museum you can follow the path to the old castle.

The museum itself may not be quite interesting but it is the way to go to citadel which has magnificent views. Best to take train from Corte railway station. Park your car for free there. Museum will be half price (2.5 euros per person) with train tickets (7.5 euros per person)

I would not go to Corte just for this museum but if you are here for other reasons, the cheap ticket definitely makes it worth a short visit. I found at least three very very interesting items in the museum and a tour of the fortress is rather enjoyable. (5 euro)

Worth the walk out from ile rousse for amazing views

I suggest to visit this place at the sunset (8pm) because is stunning. Lovely easy walk around 15min on the road by the sea with amazing views. It is a really must see!

Amazing panisland with great views on the town and the sea. Crystal-clear turquoise water and red rocks. Its well worth the short walk up. There is also a rock tower to see.

For me so far the nicest location on whole Corsica. Beautiful colors. The yellow rock with dark blue and turquoise water. Extremely nice and relaxing.

View worth the 20 minutes walk up under the sun

I was looking forward to our six and a half hour journey from Bastia to Nice on Corsica Ferries, but I must admit it turned out to be a terrible experience. The staff were extremely unhelpful and miserable. It was as if they were being made to work and didn't want to. Their attitude was abysmal. The food, which I expect to be expensive on a ferry, truly was expensive with a 500ml bottle of still water costing €2.90. The music on the sundeck was far too loud and someone somewhere kept flicking from track to track part way through a song. The dreadful music is not necessary in this day and age where passengers can choose to listen to what they like on their smartphones. All in all I'm glad I won't be travelling with Corsica ferries ever again.

The worst crossing ever with this company on Mega Express 5. The personnel were unprofessional and unhelpful. The smell of sewage throughout the accommodation was overpowering. The staff in the Gusto restaurant overcharged for drinks and refused to reimburse the difference. No more than theft. They refused to call a supervisor when requested. The vessel is old and in very poor condition. Flooring is filthy, cabin in need of repair and the structure on the car decks showing signs of cracks.

My suggestions for improvement: The staff on the Livorno ferry could definitely be friendlier. A more polite manner and greater willingness to assist would significantly enhance the travel experience. The ferry seems to be in an outdated condition and requires renovation. New carpets, chairs, and overall modern furnishings would uplift the onboard ambiance. If dogs are allowed on board, appropriate facilities should be provided for them. Artificial grass and clean disposal options for dog waste would be a welcome improvement. The conditions of the onboard sanitary facilities are unacceptable. Cleanliness and hygiene should be top priorities and urgently improved. Surveys should inquire about the status of the pool if it is actually in operation. The information should be current and relevant. The website is also in need of improvement to better inform customers about the services and the condition of the ferry. The Wi-Fi code didn't work, which was a frustrating experience. Likewise, the booked Express Boarding did not function as expected. My opinion on the crossing: Overall, my experience on this ferry was disappointing. The staff's rudeness, the poor condition of the facilities, non-functional Wi-Fi, and the disappointing Express Boarding all marred the experience. The cabins were acceptable, and I appreciate the honesty of the staff when my wallet was found in one of the cabins. Boarding in Bastia went smoothly, and the staff there were more polite. Nevertheless, there is an urgent need for improvements on this ferry to justify the high prices. The information on the website should be updated to better inform future passengers and avoid disappointments.

Good experience but survive could be better and food onboard was pricey

Ferry from Nice to Bastia was nice. Onboarding was super fast. Room was clean , food was ok. It was quite fast. We reached quite fast, less than 9 hrs. Overall really good experience

Set off late by about 20 minutes and arrived at Bastia port on Corsica at about 1 am instead of 11 pm, but the voyage was smooth and the sunset was awesome.

I took the ferry to Bastia and back. 1. The WiFi does not work at all. DON'T PAY FOR IT 2. The bathrooms were extremely FILFTHY they are not cleaned during or between the trips. It was absolutely disgusting. 3. Smell of diesel was everywhere I almost vomit.

We went to Plage Saleccia after seeing Bodri Beach, and this one is also lovely with soft white sand and very clear water. It was a bit busier though, with more boats, yachts and people around, so it didn’t feel quite as calm. It calmed down in the late afternoon as people were starting to take the return boats. We got there by boat, which was nice. Just a small tip: book early enough, and if you use GetYourGuide it’s worth checking with the operator directly to make sure your ticket is in order.

Just an amazing beach! The sand is superb, the water is azure, and the wind is calm. However, you can't really get there easily: the "road" is 6 euro and if you don't have a tall 4x4 it's better not to go there. On the beach there's no toilet or change room, so be ready to share some of your secrets. It's not a lot of people, though.

Much better than the Lotu beach for sure. Nicer to swim and enjoy the beach with less people. The trip back with zodiac was also a nice occasion, for which it's kind of a must for the return.

Fantastic beach. I like the way to get there. There is no road. But with a motorcycle or a 4x4 car you can get there. The beach is very clean. The sand is fine but not more fine than on the other side like at Bastia. You can be shure that everyone on this beach has made a special effort to come here. There are sometime cows on thr beach. The cows like to play with some visitors. This plage is one of the most difficult to get there.

Nice beach, but nothing ‘special’, loads of nice beaches in Corsica that do not require an hour off-road driving (10 kms) to get too! A nice sandy long beach, but the snorkeling was disappointing. Maybe a visit by boat would be the best option.

This beach is extraordinary special and located very nice. The scenery is just great. Clear water and white sand makes you feel like in the Caribbean. During the main season it's often crowded, but still worth a visit. You can go by 4 wheel drive from Casta or by boat from St. Florent. Or by your own car, and without 4 wheel drive it will take some hours to do down the earth road. Close to the beach there's the famous camping site and on the other end of the beach a very nice beach restaurant hidden in the pines. Definitely with a visit.

One of Corsica’s finest beaches—and worth every bit of effort to reach it. Getting there isn’t easy, but it is doable with a standard rental (we managed in an Opel Corsa). Allow roughly 45 minutes for the drive; the road is bumpy, rocky, unpaved in most places, and requires slow, careful navigation but the standard ride height is enough for this road (full cover recommended tho) Your reward? Sweeping turquoise water, powder-soft sand, and the unforgettable sight of white cows lazing right on the shoreline. A small beach bar serves snacks and cold drinks; card payments are accepted for purchases over €20. Tip: start early to avoid the midday rush, and keep an eye on your fuel—there are no services along the final stretch. Enjoy the adventure and the view!

A fantastic amusement park for both younger and older children, suitable for all age groups including adults. Everyone will have lots of fun here. The park is large, so you can easily spend the whole day there. The entrance fee is quite reasonable considering everything the park offers. There are many attractions, each with specific entry rules based on the child's height or age. The park is set in a pine forest, which provides plenty of shaded areas for resting away from the sun. There are also many food stalls, making it an ideal place to spend time with kids. Free parking is available just a few meters from the main entrance to the park. We’ll definitely come back. Cavallino Matto is a surprisingly fun amusement park. Beyond exciting rides like Freestyle and Jurassic river, its true charm lies in its beautiful pine forest setting, offering refreshing shade and a unique natural ambiance. It's a delightful blend of thrills and nature. Great for families.

Great little theme park, lots of rides for younger children but a few good thrill rides too. Almost no queues for virtually every ride makes the whole experience so much better than most theme parks and the staff generally very friendly as well. The setting amongst lots of trees makes it look good as well as providing lots of shade in hot weather.

A great place to have fun with your family. We visit the park every summer and spend the whole day there. The staff at the ticket office were absolutely wonderful, making our arrival smooth and enjoyable. They were incredibly efficient, getting everyone through quickly even during a busy period, and answered all our questions with a smile. We really appreciated their excellent customer service and positive energy. There are a lot of rides and entertainment to choose from. The Jurassic River ride is spectacular! We also appreciated the picnic area and the alley with the misting system, which made us feel so refreshed on ascorching summer day.

Super friendly staff, nice set of diverse rides especially for smaller kids. It's great that the area is full of trees so there's always enough shade during hot weather. We experienced almost no waiting time for every attraction we tried. (Summer high season, but during a workday)

There’s nothing like italian theme parks, another one we were blown away by. We came with a 2 year old and even for him, there were so many rides and activities to enjoy. Great great experience, highly recommend, if you have a chance to go.

Great for young kids and families. Loads of rides of different intensity but hardly any queues in October. A couple of shows. Recommend bringing your own food and leaving it in the picnic area. No-one will touch it and you'll save a ton of money. The only water fountain with drinkable water is near the entrance so plan to go back there a few times during the day.

A wonderful concert by Andrea Bocelli and friends in a lovely setting. A big disadvantage though are the queues for the toilets. Simply not enough. Trying to get a drink was a disaster! You have to queue for a long time to pay for the drinks and then join a longer queue to collect them. A totally inadequate and unsuitable system with not enough staff. It took over an hour to get a drink! That's simply unacceptable. I would rather go to another venue with better facilities and a more efficient system.

My second time at an Andrea Bocelli concert. The overall experience was beautiful as always, but logistics still need work. • Toilets: 10/10 — finally well organized and clean. • Bars: 5/10 — waited nearly an hour just to get a glass of prosecco. • Shuttle buses: 1/10 — chaotic and slow, took almost two hours to reach the parking lot after the show.

We've booked the Andrea Bocelli concert tickets a year in advance. It's an experience worthy from all aspects. The excitement started from our home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, even before we boarded the plane. The arrangement was perfect. Timing of the pick up by our chauffeur and the journey to Teatro del Silenzio was pure pleasant. We were greeted by the welcome Prosecco produce of Bocelli himself. Food was abundant and delicious, served by friendly hostess. The concert itself was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany. Andrea and his friends ruled that night. It's magical and an experience of a lifetime. Thank you everyone for working so hard to make the concert a great success.

Andrea Bocelli’s concert in Lajatico was a breathtaking experience. His voice echoed through the Tuscan hills, blending perfectly with the serene setting of Teatro del Silenzio. Emotional highlights included Time to Say Goodbye at sunset and a touching duet with his son Matteo. A magical, unforgettable evening under the stars.

One of the nicest museums related to motorbikes I have ever been to. So much to see, friendly staff, fantastic texts to read, the collection is just amazing, great light for photos etc. One can truly see that Vespa owners know what they are doing and the success of the brand is no wonder. Bravo and thank you.

If you are a scooter or motorbike enthusiast this is the place for you! So much to see, so much info and such knowledgeable staff. It was amazing to see how Piaggo/Vespa developed. To see how the scooter has changed over the years, to see rare things. They also have a motorbike collection too with bikes ridden by greats such as Rossi. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Free entry but please give a reasonable donation to keep such a wonderful museum going.

The most impressive free museum I have ever visited. It offers a rich and broad representation of the company's history and exposes visitors to the people behind the scenes of Vespa's success. Beyond that, I also learned a lot of new things, such as the subsidiaries I had no idea existed and the impressive record of competition victories. The museum offers an audio guide (available in several languages, we used English) that accompanies the exhibits, and each section has its own part that can be accessed via a QR code. Fascinating and highly recommended.

We had an excellent english language tour of the museum. You can reserve a day and time for a tour ahead of time, but you don't have to purchase tickets ahead of time. Highly recommended.

Before I went to visit, I thought it would be overrated, old and uninteresting, but when I got there, I was completely wowed! The tower and surrounding buildings have been maintained in such a pristine way that they look like they were built last week. For a building that is over 850 years old, it sure has aged well. The scale and lean of the tower is unbelievable and cannot be felt from pictures. This is a must visit when you are in Italy. It is truly a majestic sight.

Iconic- such an amazing view. I loved this place but so crowded. I would recommend visiting the museum next to the tower of Pisa to get an amazing view with minimal people spoiling your photos. Also there is a restaurant in this museum and you get a stunning view. Recommend climbing the tower of Pisa that was amazing make sure you are willing to climb as can be tiring. Trainers recommended for the climb.

Had a lovely time here. The tower itself has a beautiful view when you're at the top. The steps are slippery tho so be careful aspecially when walking back down. The cathedral is gorgeous also on the inside. We bought tickets that included entree to all buildings and museums and also walked the walls of pisa all the way (which was quite long). Definitely recommend visiting and also going inside.

The building was amazing but everything else lacked in excitement. There was only one fountain open to obtain water to drink. Nothing else was open. I was under tge influence that there was access to the hot springs for wading but that wasn't the case. I did catch a local orchestra practicing. Honestly, that was the highlight of that visit

It will give you a set time for the Leaning Tower on day of purchase, while you have a year to visit all other locations! If you include a separately charged wall access from the corner tower, there are 7 things to visit.

Surrounded by the Cathedral, Baptistery, Leaning Tower, and Camposanto, every corner shines with elegance and history. Absolutely magnificent and unforgettable!

This something This place is simply spectacular. The architecture is massive and incredibly impressive—pictures don't do it justice. Inside, it’s a masterpiece of art and history, packed with stunning stained glass and biblical details. My top recommendation: definitely buy the ticket to go up to the top. Walking around the exterior and seeing the views from above is the highlight of the trip. Totally worth the wait!

This is how beautiful it can be in Pisa, this small fantastic cosy city with it’s unbeatable charm. I walked the street and tje wall, everything was almost as a dream, I met fantastic people, I saw buildings that almost made me faint, it was like I was hit by Stendahls Syndrome. Pisa is a MUST city and the Tower area is the symbol of great architecture with classical style and grace. I’ll ne back!

Piazza del Duomo in Pisa was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. From the moment you enter through the gate, you’re surrounded by breathtaking architecture and a truly positive atmosphere. The intricate details of the icons and sculptures inside are stunning, and every corner of the square feels rich with history and beauty. An unforgettable experience

It's true you can't go far in Italy without running into history and this is no exception. Using viator, ITaly, lime (scooter rental), the world is your oyster. In your typical basilica, cathedral or place of worship related to Catholicism. The walls will be lined with this stations of the cross, not the duomo. It's its walls were lined with apostles and followers of Jesus. Make sure you catch the show output at noon.The bells ring the mechanical figures put on a lovely show in the piazza. If you're interested, pay a visit to the museum located on-site as well as the cript.

The building is well maintained and the crowds not bad at all. Don't just come to see the tower. This chapel is a must visit

A beautifully designed baptistery with impressive acoustics and elegant Romanesque-Gothic architecture. The interior is simple yet majestic, and the echo demonstration is a lovely highlight for visitors.

Didn't have a time for visit this place but from pictures i saw it seems quite empty inside and very simple. From outside its quite impressive though, 55 m high and 107 m in circumference, one of the largest in the World. Echo inside is very unique and its worth to hear the crew demonstration of this exquisite acoustic every 30min.

The Baptistery of Saint John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a baptistery in Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa. It is an outstanding monument of Italian Romanesque and Gothic architecture and sculpture. Construction began in 1152 and was completed in 1363. Chronologically, it is a later structure than the Pisa Cathedral and an earlier one than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

It was a great place to see along with the rest of the monuments in the plaza. Fair warning, beware of the people selling things that are not at a stand. If the police are walking around they will hide what they are selling and close their bags and head the opposite direction. It is really comical. The building itself has a lot of history and the inside is beautiful.

Included in the ticket price for €27 there was little to no queue and no timed entry so very easy to explore ,, the stairs to the first floor are a bit difficult to locate.. they’re immediately left as soon as you enter

While in Pisa to see the Leaning Tower we went inside Cattedrale di Pisa. The beauty of design shows throughout the church. I lit a candle for a Catholic friend and walked around looking at all of the fine details. During our visit we could see the roof being replaced. Definitely a place you should stop and view if and when you make it to Pisa.

Riding the funicolare to the top of the mountain is totally worth it!! While you are up there- explore the small medieval village! The view is fabulous! 👍❤️

It was a fun, relaxing ride, you have plenty of information available on the spot regarding its history an elevation angles. And the view from Montecatini Alto is magnificent. The funicular program makes it hard to miss the experience (it is open until 24.00).

The journey is gentle and slow enough to be able to enjoy the view. Staff were friendly and a return ticket is €7. We enjoyed our visit to Montecatini Alto, there are several small shops and a central square with restaurants, a bar, and Gelato shop. lots of outdoor seating and shade in a medieval village.

If you're in Montecatini then you should visit Montecatini Alto using the Furnicular! This is the mountain Railcar that takes you up to the small town with big views! Trains run every 30mins all day and night (not overnight) and tickets cost €7.50

A historical and beautiful bridge right on the side of the road in the mountains. If you're in or around Lucca and planning to see some mountains and nature, I'd recommend having a quick stop at Ponte della Maddalena. Parking is easy on the east/right side of the Bridge. Not too crowded when visiting in the middle of the day. If you're also looking for a pitstop or a quick lunch, three small osterias/restaurants are right next to the bridge.

While there's not much to see here, the devil's bridge 'Ponte Della Maddalena' - or 'the bridge of the devil' - is a true landmark in the Lucca area and it has a very fascinating history. Parking is easy, so you can go for a walk over this bridge, before continuing your journey through the beautiful Italian landscape.

If you want to visit the cave I would recommend to book the tour in advance or at least call them up the day before. We arrived to the town where the information desk was at 12:00 and were informed the last group had already left on the bus to see the cave at 11:00. For some reason, they had they last guided tour at 11am, which was extremely strange and there was no info on their website that said that prior reservation was required. It took us an hour to get to the place, so we were obviously a little disappointed. It could have been a great experience, but alas. Make your reservation ahead of time!

This is out of the beaten path attraction. You park near the ticket office and reach the cave by a bus (included in the tickets). You can only enter with a guided tour of about 2-2.5 hours. You can combine it with a 45 minute tour to the mercury mine nearby. Not all guides are fluent in English, but you can check this with the park by emails (and reserve a spot). There is a small kiosk at the cave entrance.

Beautiful landmark of Lerici. Very nice views and nice areas of the fortress. There is no waiting to enter. However, the premises are empty and lack any interesting exhibition illustrating the origin and history of the fortress and the surrounding area. There are a few (3) screens, but they don't draw the eye.

Lerici is for sure one of the underated place of Italy. This is an fantastic place. Extremely beautiful and tourist friendly. The view from the castle is simply amazing and breathtaking. The port is filled with little boats. On the city streets you can find lots and lots of fantastic restaurants with authentic italian taste- family owned ones with care and love for food. Definitely recommend it. Bonus: the sand of the little beach is simply great.

Stunning views from the top galleries. Entrance is €5, there are QR codes for the Italian and English audio guide in every room (take your headphones with you). The only small disappointment was that there was no exhibition and all glass-boxes for the exhibits were empty.

We walked from Vernazza to Monterosso. It took about an hour and a half. The first half hour, in particular, is quite tiring and challenging; you're walking uphill. There are beautiful views along the way. There's no way to refill your water bottle along the way, so stock up on water beforehand.

Please take cat food with you - lots if possible!!!!!! There is a cat village and a designated area to leave food so people can feed them over time. It is up to us to feed these homeless cats. Walked this trail today and to my surprise, there was a few homeless cats who are in a small gated area with cat houses and a sign that states something along the lines of “homeless and unloved cats, please feed” …there was no food there and they looked quite skinny. If you are planning to walk this trail, please bring a bag of cat food, maybe some wet cans (not tin, they can cut their tongue on those), water… whatever you can. If I had known this going into the hike, I would’ve brought it. I’m not sure what the deal is with any caretakers for the cats but it would be nice to have a sign or something prior to starting the trail to let people know there are cats along the way, so people can purchase food before going up…. Lots of people were very upset to see the cats there with no food and there’s nothing to do about it at that point… it is mid-trail and nothing around. Otherwise, it is very uphill so be very prepared - but the sights are well worth it!

Pro tip: apparently you need a Cinque Terre pass to enter but everyone was passing through just to check the views and then come back. This is where you'll take the best photo of Vernazza. The start is just on the side of a restaurant, to the left you'll see a narrow street.

3.6 km, about 2h walk. It tooked us 2h15 with a big break at a bar about 1km away from Monterosso, the only one along the way. Lots of steps, but pretty easy to walk with good shoes... And the viens are so worth it !

This is a very strenuous trail with 800 ft of elevation. It was quite difficult with many stairs on both the accent a decent. We’re in our 30s and 40s and it took us about two hours with several stops for photos and the drink water. The terrain is treacherous at times. Make sure you wear the appropriate shoes with tread and waterproofing if possible as it is very muddy in some areas. The views and experience is absolutely worth it though!

Very beautiful hike. WARNING for anyone that wants to do this hike but isn’t a seasoned hiker: start from Vernazza and go towards Monterosso!! I started from Monterosso and it was a LOT of steep stairs & uphill. I read a review from someone on here who talked about having to climb up on all fours… while I didn’t get to that level I DEFINITELY was feeling that review to my core 😂😭 If I were to do it again, I would start from Vernazza. It’s doable both ways, but know that it will be more difficult if you start from Monterosso. The views will be beautiful & the same whichever town you start from. I had to take a lot of breaks, but many people (both old & young) did the same so I didn’t feel too left out. I recommend you do the hike early in the morning or towards late afternoon, that way you can have a little bit of a breeze and it’s not constantly hot. For reference, we did the hike with a lot of breezes and I STILL had my shirt drenched with sweat. If it is rainy, be careful!! Wear appropriate shoes for that. We did it while it was sunny & dry but there were many areas that were slip-potential. Also, you can access the viewpoint of the Vernazza background for picture-taking WITHOUT having to hike. I have included a picture so you know which viewpoint I’m talking about.

Also, there was a small cat community (with little cat houses) that lives along the hike route close to Vernazza. A sign asks visitors to bring cat food/water because they have no owners. Found this bay on the last morning of our stay in Sestri and had to stop and eat at a little osteria on the beach. It was so lovely and tranquil we ended up staying a lot longer than we had anticipated, but it was well worth it. Definitely worth a visit

Impressive medieval castle on a hilltop over a village. It's BIG and just after the holiday season it was almost deserted. We spent an hour or two roaming the ramparts, the many rooms (including a fascinating exhibition of 29th century socialist paintings) - and yes, the torture dungeon as well. We were pleasantly surprised to be left to roam the place on our own accord. The view of the valley from the ramparts is stunning.

Very interesting place with great views on the surroundings of Bardi. They definitely put a lot of interesting things to see inside those historic walls. When we were there a very interesting art exposition took place at the castle, worth to check out the rich programme throughout the year.

We were told that the castle wasn't much to look at. Being our first castle, it was fantastic. The view is incredible. There is a torture chamber. You can almost feel the people being tortured. Great experience. I can't imagine what castles the person who told us this was just ok has visited. This one was well worth the trip.

Wonderful castle with a gorgeous view and multiple things to visit : local craftmanshi museum, hunting museum, princes house, dungeon… and everything is included in the entrance fee. The restauration of the castle is really good (you can visit almost everything) and well suited for little middle aged fans.

Beautiful place, in fact the village has been awarded as the most beautiful village in Italy couple of years back. I fully agree with that! Since we went on Xmas day, there were literally nobody around. The drive through the hill (last 10-15mins of drive) is bit difficult since the width of the road is just enough for one vehicle. But with almost no traffic, seems to be ok. I love to visit the tourist places when it is empty, and I am glad I picked the Xmas day for the visit. There is a restaurant near this bridge, but was closed. The village also was very quite. Just my kind of place!

Amazing medieval bridge below which is an area of river perfect for swimming. Lots of families, my children had a great time swimming about looking at the fish. Some shade under the arches of the bridge, recommend taking a picnic.
