Incredible experience! It went way beyond my expectations. I didn’t think there would be this much to see. My main reason for going was the Buran and Apollo exhibits, but I ended up really enjoying the other sections too. There are dozens of cars, motorcycles, and airplanes on display. You also get to see flown items from Apollo, Gemini, Shuttle, and ISS missions. Capsule parachutes, Shuttle parts, astronaut gear, and even a Moon rock from Apollo 15… Such an amazing collection. The Lunar Module looks almost exactly like the real thing, and the lunar suits are just as impressive. Absolutely a must-visit!

Amazing display of land, water, air and space vehicles. I did not expect the huge collection of well-displayed artifacts that allowed up cloce inspection. The Lufthansa 747 is mounted high in the air, can be seen from a distance, and still allows interior visits. Worth a special trip.

It may take more than a day or two to see all this museum has to offer. The wing walk is a must, dont forget to grab your carpet to slide down afterwards.

This castle truly has a mystic vibe to it! The red-brick theme, and the fact that its in ruins but still very well maintained adds to its appeal. Highly recommend visiting in fall/autumn as it looks super aesthetic with the green-yellow-red-brown leaves all around the magnificent castle! We didn't go inside but just taking a stroll around it and outside was super beautiful and makes for a good outing in Heidelberg!

Since palace’s interior museum was under renovation I have only strolled around it and checked out the park surrounding palace. Great landscaping and architecture, palace looks grand even on cloudy overcast day. The palace and city got under construction at the same time on 1715. Palace was built in French Baroque style by architect Jacob von Batzendorf for Karl Wilhelm, ruler of Baden-Durlach and founder of Karlsruhe in 1718.

We visited on Sunday. It was crowded, but since there are plenty of areas to explore, it didn’t feel overwhelming. The venue is designed across three floors with five different rooms, offering spacious areas for visitors. The entrance fee is €8 per person for the museum only, or €12 for the museum and turm(visit point). We opted for the museum + turm package and highly recommend it. The view was beautiful from turm.

We visited the zoo on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded. The nature is beautiful, lots of plants and flowers, especially now in spring when the flowers are blooming. Perfect fun for children, lots of animal species, well-maintained play parks for children. The zoo is really big and you need a whole day if you want to visit everything, so it's great for a full-day trip with the family. We really liked it and will definitely come again. We loved the Gondola ride on the lake. We had a really nice experience and memories. Admission for children under 6 is free, a day ticket for adults costs €15 if you buy it at the box office.It's cheaper if you buy the ticket online because then you pay €14.

Located right in front of the main train station, this is a relatively small zoo that packs a big punch. Sure, there aren't lions or tigers, but the polar bears, elephants, hippos, chimps and many other charismatic animals make up for it tenfold. And while some of the exhibits could be on the older side, there are brilliant modern facilities, like the wonderful tropical house, that make a big difference!

Visited the Karlsruhe zoo with friends and their kids which was an amazing find. The place is very nice, interesting, well maintained with lots of activities for kids of every age as well as adults. The exibits are well curated and the animals seem to be very well taken cared for. The ticket is 15€ per person which may sound a bit pricey but you have a tons of things to do. Overall this was a great find that I highly suggest to everyone, especially parents. If you don’t know what to do about your kid and feel a bit drained, take them to the zoo to roam around!

We booked one of the beach-style chairs, which made relaxing even better, and I loved how organized everything was — no chaos, no confusion, just pure relaxation. However, the prices are a bit high for what's on offer, and it was a bit crowded for my liking. We had to wait in several areas to enjoy the different pools. I also wish the wristbands were a bit sturdier. The ones we got dissolved in water, making it nearly impossible to remember your locker number after a full day of swimming, visiting the saunas and steam baths. Another area that could use some improvement is the front desk customer service. Apart from giving us our wristbands, they didn't spend much time explaining what there was to do or where everything was located. They just assumed we knew our way around.

I had very high expectations of this thermal bath but my experience was slightly disappointing. I've been to many thermal baths in Germany and other thermal baths were way better on several aspects. Vital and Sauna area: This area has been the most disappointing so far, there is only one crowded pool bar and an even more crowded tiny salt pool. Textile area: This area has one large pool and a few tiny overcrowded ones that we couldn't try because there was never any free space. Loungers availability: We had to book a double seat for 13 EUR, but for most other days only some outrageously expensive loungers were available (150 to 300 Eur). I've been to better thermal baths in Germany where such a lounger is only around 30-40 EUR instead of 200+ If you don't have a reserved seat, it can be difficult to find a place to sit. One thing I liked is that they have a few non reservable seats and they would clear your towels and belongings if you leave them on it while you're away. Food: Food can be a hit or miss, the chicken Thai curry was nothing like Thai curry and was barely edible. The chili con carne however was quite delicious. They do have some delicious dessert options and the food was not expensive and very beautifully plated. Water temperature: Water temperature was quite cold in my opinion, because a large part of the pool is outdoors and that probably affects the temperature of the water inside. It wasn't uncomfortable though. Air temperature was very pleasant and warm. Parking: Plenty of free parking spots were available. Showers and lockers: There very few showers so waiting times were quite longs and queues of 5-10 people were forming at times. Water temperature was good and the facilities were very clean. Sauna: One thing I loved was the cinema Sauna, you can watch a small documentary projected while inside the sauna. I didn't join any of the activities because the lines were insanely long which made the saunas fully packed. The steam bath was also really nice and the peeling options are amazing. Massage: Massages must be booked ahead of time. They also have some automatic massage beds but I couldn't find the cost mentioned anywhere. I think that's quite misleading. There thousands of real orchids and beautiful plants all over the pools, which was really nice. I'm not sure if I would come back again.

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and drove an hour to the pool, only to find that main pool is closed for renovations – with no notice online or anywhere else. This was a huge waste of time and energy. The indoor pool was uncomfortably warm and not refreshing at all. The outdoor pool area has nowhere to sit or relax, which makes it difficult to enjoy. Poor communication and poorly thought-out facilities. Not coming back. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Absolutely LOVED spending one of our first days in Germany here. We went on a Friday afternoon and probably will be back during the week when it won't be as busy. Would definitely recommend booking a private bed there for the day if you go as you're not allowed to reserve your own. The pool bar is super cute with delicious drinks and it's just a vibe. We liked best : slide down of one of the planes, Concore& Tupolev, fastest car in the world " Blue Flame" Monstertrack, car of " back from the future".... In hall 1 you can find the IMAX cinema, museum shop, American dream cars, military tanks, planes, helicopters and other vehicles, aircraft hangar, organs and bicycle racing. Hall 2 is allabout motorracing, formula 1, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ralleycars, automobile from the beginning, 20s 40s 50s and modern automobile. On the rooftopyou find the Concord, Tupolev and the submarine.

What an incredible place. It's mind-blowing the exhibits on display. Wild, varied and so many !!! You can view it all in a few hours but for sure take a day out to go to this mind bending place. The Concorde and the Kondcordski Tuplolv tu144 are magnificent. Scary climbing up the stairs and the tilt is a bit steep but well worth going. The cars also , so many cool cars, from supercars, to pre war to hot rods. Exhibits on race cars, a cool display of F1 cars. They also have a Great shop . Deffo pace yourself and take time !! They also have another museum called technik Speyer ... That has the Russian Space shuttle the Buran !!!

One of the most fascinating museums l've ever been to because of its absolute mint condition of trains, planes and automobiles :) Expect to spend a few hours to a whole day to fully enjoy this huge museum! Very special to see in person was the supersonic airplanes …Concorde and Russian tupolev (Tu-144) and a real U-boat !! (Line ups may vary from 10min to 1hour) Great collection of Lambo’s, Ferrari’s and of course every classic German sports cars. Lots of outdoor parking (5.00€ ) Bonus: some of the special collection exhibits are interactive by putting 2€ coin fee which gives you a great real life example of a steam locomotive wheels in action with sounds, very impressive so just do it !

We've been wanting to go here for a few years as we passed it on the way to someplace else. So much to see and really loved walking inside the Concorde jet and the U boat. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not too bad. Parking is 5 euros. Lots of cars, tanks, motorcycles and more. Great for a family to spend a half day and the playground was fantastic with rides too.

Great, but it could be so much better. There are some amazing exhibits here, but they're displayed in a ramshackle and random manner. Having the planes at stage angles must have seemed like a good idea (maybe after a beer or two), but I think they'd be better level allowing people to walk through easily and concentrateon looking at the interiors fully.. Information on some of the exhibits is sparse or cut-and-paste from others. It is certainly worth a visit, but it has the potential to be absolutely amazing.

Such a cool experience to be able to go here, loved the interactive bits but the story telling could’ve been done better for Ferdinand Porsche’s life. Coming from my time in the Mercedes Benz museum down the road which did their story telling impeccably. Definitely go here though, would highly reccommend if you like looking at high horsepower monsters and multi million euro cars!

My personal favorites were the Nurburgring record-breaking 919 Evo, which is breathtaking to see up close, and the Carrera GT, a true masterpiece of design and performance. The museum perfectly captures what makes Porsche special, and it’s well worth the trip for any automotive enthusiast.

This is a very nice museum. Lots of Porsche history is shown, special versions and good explanations via a mobile device with headset. I must admit that i only used it at the beginning, because some explanations are giving allot of info.you can also walk by and read the text.

Beautiful garden + zoo which is so nicely maintained. The garden is spectacular. There is the cactus area which would mesmerize all garden lovers. The surroundings are well kept. The Amazon experience is amazing. The animals can be viewed closely, that's how the landscaping is done for their enclosures. Multiple restaurants are within the Wilhelma zoo. Not to forget some lucky ones even got peacock feathers. We visited on a Saturday with kids and it was a day well spent.

Huge place to visit, great value for money of you go on sight seeing. Wilhelma is both a botanical and a zoological garden with a great collection in both fauna. There are a lot of things to do for children (special places were they can climb and play) but as well as a lot of places to grab something to eat or a coffee or a … bear.

This was by far the biggest coolest zoo we've ever been to! Beautiful botanical gardens too! There's different microclimate buildings with native plants to those regions and the animals are out in their habitat when you walk through. We've never experienced anything like it, definitely the coolest thing we did while we were in Stuttgart! Parking was 8 euros, we spent 6 hours making our way through the park and could have been there even longer than that. We used the 3 day stuttcard that we purchased for entrance at the zoo. Well worth your time!

Wilhelma is an absolute must-visit and a stellar example of modern zoological care! From the moment you step inside, the entire park feels incredibly well maintained—a truly pristine environment. The focus on animal welfare is clear; the complex features very good, spacious animal sanctuaries that clearly contribute to happy animals throughout the exhibits. It's truly heartwarming to see the dedication of the staff, and it’s obvious there are a lot of workers enjoying their job, which adds to the positive atmosphere. A fantastic, ethical, and beautiful day out!

I have visited zoo and botanical gardens lot of time but the trip to Wilhelma was a unique experience. It is constructed such that to give a natural habitat to the animals while people can also experience how the animals of wild look like. You can see them real close through glass windows. This was a very unique experience. There are all kinds of animals and birds. Since I have been only one time, due to limited time, I couldn't visit the Amazon forest and botanical gardens. But I am thinking of getting a yearly pass next year. Amazing experience. The nature truly is amazing and beyond words.

All this green area , birds and animals is a joy of soul and eyes. Never had this much of calm in a very long time. I am happy that I visited it today. Note : I arrived at the gate and it was opened and none there , I stepped one foot to see where is the staff and a guy firmly asked me to step outside again. I didn't and showed him my ticket , he check it and then allowed me to enter. His behavior was so rude.

It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.

This place is a curious place because of houses that seem to be falling in front of you! The paintings on rathouse are nice because of gold color. You can spend time drinking coffee while the sun sets...

Wonderful town. Wonderful Square. A lovely baker in the corner. Good cafes absolutely definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

A pleasant marketplace to walk around. We came across a street band playing cheerful music. One of the nice areas to visit when in Tübingen.

Tübingen is only an hour and half from Stuttgart by regional train. The city dates from the 6th or 7th century, when the region was populated by the Alamanni people. The old castle dates from around year 1.000. The city was totally destroyed during the WW but many buildings were restored. We can still see special details from the original constructions. A very typical German town worth visiting.

It's a beautiful square surrounded by antique buildings. On and off, there are events such as the Christmas market or currently the "Chocolart", a chocolate themed market.

Amazing place to visit. We arrived during an old town festival with traditional french and Italian products. Many live singers, many small Events great restaurants and lots of crowds. The place to be in every weekend!

Fantastic square with the city hall at its center. The building was started in 1435 and extended over the years. Today you can find a fully preserved medieval square without any damages from WWII. It is a bustling square with many cafés and restaurants.

Every nice church. This church has the tallest tower in the world. You can pay 7 Euros and walk all the way to the top. Please ensure that you are semi fit....it is a long and winding staircase of over 750 steps. But the view is worth it. They are currently doing some restorations to the church so please bear with the noise.

Ulm Minster is breathtaking both inside and out. The Gothic architecture is incredibly detailed, and the interior is full of history — especially the 15th-century choir stalls with their intricate wood carvings. The highlight, of course, is climbing the tallest church spire in the world. It’s 768 steps up a narrow staircase, but the panoramic view over the city and, on clear days, even the Alps, makes it worth every step. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and bright, with beautiful stained-glass windows and an impressive organ. The Münsterplatz around the church is also lively, with cafés and markets (the Christmas market here is fantastic). Be prepared: the tower climb is steep and not for everyone, but if you can manage it, it’s unforgettable. Overall, Ulm Minster is one of Germany’s greatest landmarks. Highly recommended!

It’s very easy to reach, just a short and pleasant walk from Ulm’s main train station through the charming old town. When I visited, there was some ongoing renovation work, with padding and scaffolding around the front and upper sections, which did slightly spoil the full view of the façade. However, the minor distraction did not take away from the overall experience — once you step inside, the atmosphere completely changes. The city’s noise fades away, replaced by a deep sense of peace and stillness. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a quiet moment of reflection, Ulm Minster is a beautiful and easily accessible place to visit.

A very successful experience for children aged 4-12. A large place with lots of options that are very difficult to complete in one day due to the long lines for most of the facilities. You have to arrive with a lot of patience. Overall, this is a park where the attractions themselves are not crazy, but the "wrapping" of Lego does its job. The place is very neat and clean and easy to navigate. Overall, this is a recommended day out for the family.

This is in my opinion the best of the 3 Legoland parks in Europe. Everything is good value here, especially the food and the quality of said food is fantastic. I went into the pizza restaurant and paid around €16 for a fresh out of the oven pizza and amazing chocolate tart. They both felt like they came from an expensive restaurant, very tasty and beautiful presentation. You have the best selection of rides here from small to thrilling. A really good variety - the best being Maximus. An absolutely thrilling b&m coaster which despite the short ride time, offers some incredible moments of weightlessness. The park is kept tidy and clean - the bathrooms are cleaned very regularly. Queues are managed well and have the bonus of single rider if you're a lone traveller like me. Saves a lot of time. Theres a few little themed shops dotted around and although a couple were closed on my trip due to the time of year possibly, there's still a lot on offer. More than any other Lego park in Europe like I said. I had the best 2 days here and I can't wait to come back again.

We took the kids to Germany and our first stop before traditional castles and museums was Legoland Germany! We LOVED it. Drove straight from airport to the hotel (we stayed at the Pirate Hotel), checked in, then did a full afternoon and evening till close. We ate at the steak restaurant near hotels and onsite for snacks, lunch, etc. We prepaid for breakfast at Pirate hotel. Because of birthdays, we did the birthday package (they decorated the room and more) and because tip mattered we did the VIP package. THIS was worth every penny! We skipped the line at every ride, got extra swag & mini figures, and store discounts [don’t forget to ask for tax refund forms at the store (typically 100 or more spent)]. The staff are awesome and most are bilingual if you are rusty. If you are a LEGO fan or traveling Germany with kids, this place is worth every penny! For the super fans, they had themes we found no where else (e.g. adventure series at the log ride); and rides that are not found at the US Legolands. Augsburg and Ulm are nearby if you need a culture/ museum break.

We spent lovely 2days here, great experience for us, adults and our kids. We had lovely weather, so a lot of people arrived, and some attractions were crowded, and we had to wait. Luckily it was just occasionally. Plus was Halloween decorations and products that can bring home🎃🎃 Thank you, will come again.

Great place for young kids . We spent one day there , 2 would have been better as we didn’t see everything. Very reasonable as once you pay all the rides are free . Ideal kids age 5-12.

An absolute dream holiday location for my family and I. My son and daughter loved it, the rides were great, food was good and queues were decent. Staff were very friendly, parking wasn't an issue and having Peppa Pig Park right next door made it ideal for my 2 year old daughter too! It was also great fun for my wife and I. Unforgettable memories were made and we cannot wait to visit once again!

If you or your kids like LEGO then you must visit, the place is huge and there are a lot of activities for all ages. To really cover it you need at least 2 days to get on most of the rides. The only downside is the large ques that form so you don't like to wait a lot then maybe pay more for the express pass. You can also get tickets online for both the park and the parking which I recommend to save some time.

Amazing entry point into the city! Continue from until the very end then descend down to the center of Merano. The other end of riverside promenade allows the alternative access. The views are stunning, the whole path is so beautiful and there points of water as well as some historic facts here and there.

A lovely walk with great views over Merano, an added bonus is the cafe by the tower at the top of the walk .

Fantastic views of the city and surrounding landscape. Vineyards, steeples and mountains can be taken in from the viewing benches. There are also a few restaurants/spots to have a drink along the promenade. The climb up the old fort tower is worth it for the views from the top. It is quite a steep walk up to the promenade - we managed it with a pram but took some pushing!

Wonderful route, easy realxing, the whole family with kids can enjoy the view of merano from a bit higher. The route has a part long the river, very calming. There are small herbs garden to check out on the route as well. There’s also some restaurants along the way and hotels.

Beautiful garden with a wide variety of botanical riches--from the "trees of the world" area to the amazing and artful viewing platform set high above the garden to the more formal plantings around the big pond and in the sunny hills near the castle. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed every minute.

We’ve visited the gardens and the castle in autumn. It was still worth it. You really need a whole day to see everything. It is very big. It is perfect for kids. They have baby goats and small farm animals. Beautiful views. We will come in summer.

We visited the Botanical Gardens of Schloss Trauttmansdorff and highly recommend it. Parking at P3 or P4 is free and just a short 5-minute walk to the entrance. The park is beautifully designed with a wide variety of landscapes and attractions. We started on the left and worked our way through to the right, spending about 2.5 hours in total. There’s a lot to see and experience. Some paths are quite steep, so it might be a bit challenging for older visitors. Overall, a stunning place well worth the visit.

Must see if you are in the area, 3-4 hours is minimum to be able to see all

This place is so awesome I don't even want to write a review about it, it might make it busier in this era of overtourism. But anyway: this garden is too beautiful to be true: the location in the Alps, the hilly terrain of the park, and the variety of plants and flowers and artwork. Usually it's sunny here which really helps. We were here in late October which was perfect. Walking around is not really doable for people who don't walk well. Parking is easy, there's also a bus to the station and it's an easy detour from the Brenner tollway.

The Brixner Dom, or Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary and Saint Cassian, is a magnificent baroque cathedral in the heart of Brixen (Bressanone). Though not vast in size, it impresses with stunning ceiling frescoes by Paul Troger and an adjacent Romanesque-Gothic cloister featuring remarkable 15th-century murals. The location is central in the charming old town, making it easily accessible and ideal for a cultural visit. A must-see when in South Tyrol. Visit as well the adjacent buildings, and then enjoy a Cappuccino in on the bars on the square.

Great Cathedral of Brixen in late baroque style. There's historical fresco "The adoration of the lamb"(1748–50) by Paul Troger. For just this master piece of art, this place is worth visiting.

To do a round trip in Dolomites area, made a visit to see frescoes and the commune. A great spot to stop by.

The Dom is a really nice place to visit during your stay in Bressanone. We we lucky to be during the Christmas Market that is hosted just in front of the Dom.

Impressive , huge and beautiful cathedral in the middle of the old town in Brixen. Just a short 10 minutes from the train station will put you in the middle of the old town center. Go inside and marvel at the ornate rococo and be sure to look UP to appreciate the ornate frescos on the ceiling Look behind you and up to view the beautiful , large and elaborate organ. Brixen Cathedral was rebuilt in 1754 in the Late Baroque style typical of churches in the Holy Roman Empire, with lighter colors and fine stucco details compared to the High Baroque style in Italy. The adjoining cloister is covered with Gothic frescoes.

Excellent hike along a path hewn in to the Cliffside of the gorge to the Sanctuary. (You can also drive to the sanctuary) We parked in Sanzeno (free parking in field near the piazza), initially walking a small road, then track through orchards to a path in the cliff. It’s flat, lots of fun and quite low (watch your head - there are signs saying you need a helmet but no one wore one). There are 160 steps up to the sanctuary itself - well worth it. There and back it’s a 6.5 mile (around 9km) walk.

Beautiful nature to see, impressive architecture. The sanctuary it self, as to be expected, pretty austere. Didn't enjoy seeing the caged bear doing circles cause its clearly depressed.

the path to the eremo itself is beautiful (photo of it below). its litterally carved iside a natural canion. the eremo itself is outstanding. the personal is helpful and prepared. plus it has a giant friendly bear and lots of doggos. a lot of panoramic wiews too. finally if you are into walking in the woods these place is right for you.

We hiked here from San Zeno along the path carved out of the mountainside (watch your head!). There are some short climbs, but it’s doable in less than an hour each way and the vistas over the valley are beautiful. There are some spots where you do need to pay attention, but it’s fairly well marked. While you’ll see fully kitted out hikers, there are also plenty of families and elderly people just taking a walk with regular clothes and shoes. The sanctuary is very peaceful and their resident bear even came out to greet us.

You cannot access the sanctuary with a car during summer months but there is a shuttle bus to and from it (from Sanzeno), costing 2 EUR one way or 3 EUR both directions. You could also park your car at Museo Retico (paying parking lot) and go on foot which is more than worth it. The path is not too challenging and it takes less than an hour. We went to the sanctuary on foot and took the bus back. The sanctuary itself is worth the visit but there's not much to do more than 30 minutes or so...

Incredible shrine sitting on top of the hill. The shrine hosts a lovely bear which has become an attraction per se. The car entrance is in Sanzeno, while the shrine is accessible by several walks. One of the walk starts from Coredo, providing a majestic park close to an artificial lake. From there the shrine is reachable by foot in 1h (2/3)km. The path is a bit steep at some point.

The floor with the mummy is awesome. The other floors are okay. As a physiotherapist, I feel it’s important to highlight that some of the information presented about Ötzi’s ailments and pain is factually incorrect—not just technically inaccurate but clearly and potentially harmfully wrong. Specifically, the exhibit makes claims about osteoarthritis and other health conditions that go beyond what the evidence supports. It is not scientifically valid to infer pain based solely on imaging findings of “degenerative” changes or age-related adaptations. These types of findings are extremely common in healthy people—many of whom experience no pain at all. Presenting such changes as definitive sources of pain reinforces outdated and misleading beliefs about the human body. This can contribute to fear, over-medicalization, and unnecessary treatments in the general public, especially among people who already live with chronic pain or worry about their health. Aside from the clearly documented issues—such as the arrow wound in his shoulder, the broken arm, and dental problems—any additional claims about Ötzi’s experience of pain are speculative at best and should be labeled as such. Personally, I think those parts of the exhibit should be changed. I included some photos of the problematic texts.

Great museum, mainly dedicated to the story (and viewing) of Ötzi, the iceman. Recommendation when you are in the area. Also some interesting items on living situations in that time and how to craft for example. We didn’t have a ticket in advance and so had to wait outside. It was annoying that the lady at the front couldn’t tell us how long the queue would be, luckily it was only a bit more than 20 minutes. We visited on a tuesday afternoon mid September. Recommended to buy beforehand! Inside there are also many school groups next to the general visitors so it is not calm or quiet.

An interesting museum dedicated to literally just one mummy. After viewing the exhibit, you realize how much information can be gleaned from such a find. My seven-year-old daughter was a bit scared; perhaps it's too early to see such exhibits. Tickets are inexpensive, but there's no parking. The restrooms are clean and comfortable. A significant amount of money has been invested in the museum; I recommend visiting.

Awesome museum! I have been interested in Otzi since he was pulled out of the ice, so when I was nearby I made sure to make a detour to Bolzano and the museum. You’re not allowed to take photos of Otzi himself as he is being preserved for research purposes. The images below show what they think Otzi would have looked like. One thing I found most interesting, (other than his acupuncture tattoos of course!) was his height - only 5 feet 3 inches. I had expected him to be taller, possibly because of my own biases, but possibly also owing to the nature of his life - mountain climbing and hunting while alone. Regardless, he was obviously a seriously brave guy. The museum dedicated to him is definitely worth a visit.

So cool ! The museum is located in the middle of town. Parking was a challenge , we used the parkhouse , while it’s 4.50€ per hour, it worked out well. The museum is set up in 3 floors , easy to follow as everything is numbered. What an amazing valuable find, so interesting . This exhibit really helps you understand the life of this man .

Located just 10 min walk from the city center the cable car is one way of reaching Soprabolzano. The views from the ride are spectacular amd it takes roughly 12 min one way. One way ticket is 8 euros and if you buy the return you need to use it the same day, it cannot be used another day. If you are planning to get the scenic small train from Soprabolzano , make sure to mention this when buying the ticket so they will give you a combined o ne. You can either take the stairs to the 2nd level or the elevator. There is a coffee shop right next to it and a supermarket as well. Once you get on top you will find a bar / icecream shop in the area and a Despar amd Mpreis supermarkets. Very busy usually in the weekends

I have mixed feelings about this cable car. The first part of the experience was bad. There is a pretty long line and the stuffed too many people into one cart. However the view from this cable car is absolutely amazing. It first goes up and the has a long horizontal ride that seems like it was designed just so you can enjoy the view longer. Too bad we had such little personal space to enjoy the view.

The queue for the ride can be really long on a weekend, especially at 12pm. Be patient and dont join the queue. Just go for a lunch first till 1pm and the will be no wait needed to get a ride up. The long and smooth ride offers a great view between bolzano and suprabolzano.

The cable car (Funivia) takes you from Bolzano to Oberbozen (Sopra Bolzano). It's a 25 minute smooth ride with incredible and breathtaking views. The capacity is around 20 people at a time. Very recommended if in Bolzano.

Awesome way to go waaay up while using the same Mobil Card that we use for trains/buses in the region. No waiting time, smooth trip up and down and spectacular views all around!

Beautiful views! Nice restaurant and bar and a playground for kids. There are several hikes available as well.

Supranolzano is a magical place and so is this route to it. We had gotten a free Südtirol pass from our Agriturismo hosts and therefore this trip and the train trips were free!

The castle is beautiful but the real star is the garden with its magnificent views. Took down one star because we wasted an hour waiting for parking and it messed up our plans for the day.

Well worth visiting - interesting castle and pretty gardens. Paid parking (4 euro - but wouldn’t accept credit cards), 250m walk from parking uphill to castle. We spent 2 hours there and would recommend a visit

An absolutely wonderful experience at Castello Thun! The location itself is stunning, overlooking the green valleys of Trentino, and the castle is very well maintained. The rooms, furniture, and collections give a real sense of history, yet it feels welcoming and not overwhelming. Walking through the halls and gardens is like stepping back in time. Highlights for me were the fascinating room full of horse carriages, the unique old kitchen, and the beautiful artwork throughout the castle. I also loved learning that Napoleon once stayed here—such an interesting fact! Outside, there’s a nice cafeteria where you can relax after your visit, and a little museum shop with lovely items to take home. The staff are very polite, kind, and helpful, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in history, culture, or simply beautiful views.

Amazing castle with a nice little cantine.

Awesome castle built high up on the ridge providing panoramic views of the valley below. Interior is furnished with gorgeous empire style furniture. Worth the time to travel there. Bring some vino and food as it is a good place to picnic afterwards.

Been there in February 2020. Amazing place, in a stunning location. The castle itself is perfectly maintained and the guided tour is very interesting. The audio guide is recommended but not mandatory: there is a lot to see and to learn, since the place has a very rich and long history. Nice and friendly personnel. Only one remark: if you go during winter or in the beginning of spring, be sure to wear a jacket, as in the rooms it gets really cold. Anyway, definitely recommended.

Very nice castel to visit. DOGS NOT ALLOWED unless kept in a transport bag on your body. One star less for the poor organization of shuttle bus that doesn't bring you at the entrance rather leave you at P1 where then you have to climb for a long while

It is of rare beauty, once you get there you will want to come back every year. The focal point is Ortisei, an earthly paradise. From Ortisei you can take the cable car and go up to a place where you can see all the mountain peaks in the area, it is something special. The languages ​​spoken in the area are German and less Italian, but you can also manage with English. The food is very good as a result of the combination of the above.

Val Gardena for ski is in my top3 in Europe (been to 5 resorts in Dolomites, 3 in Val di Sole, 2 in Austrian Tirol, 3 in Aosta…) - why? You have all the options: long trails like Gardenissima (6km), La Longia (8km acc to my watch), Cir etc. You have shorter runs in Sassolungo part of the resort. You have difficult runs as well as long gentle easy ones. You have everything + one of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine, Sella massif, Sassolungo massif, Seceda, incredible Seceda. Visited few times but always before season in December and no crowds. The only negative- train connecting Seceda part to Sassolungo part is not always reliable. This place every ski person needs to visit at least once ina lifetime

Nice place to stay during vacation,a lot of good restaurant and wonderful natural view

Amazing place to see especially on a sunny day. We were there with our 7m campervan on a Sunday morning around 9am and there were plenty of parking spaces but got busy rather quickly. You need to pay in the ticket machine before passing through the exit gate. Campers pay 9 eur for 3 hrs which is plenty time to see the sights, get some footage and have a meal as well.

It is a small lake surrounded by pine forests and the Dolomites mountains, offering breathtaking scenery. The water is crystal clear with an emerald-green color, reflecting the mountains and the sky. Easy to reach with no difficult roads. Parking is available at €3 per hour (Oct 2025), and payment must be made in advance at the ticket machine. The area also has convenient facilities such as shops and restaurants, though not very large. Perfect for a short stop to take photos and enjoy a peaceful walk. The atmosphere is calm, cool, and truly romantic.

Beautiful lake with easy walk around it. You can get there by car (paid parking) Even with the bad weather upcoming it gave some nice effects on the pictures… Recommend for an easy stop and enjoy beauty of nature & its colors!

We visited here on a very sunny day. The lake was an emerald green and very beautiful, but the photo spots were quite crowded with people.

We visited Lago di Carezza, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Dolomites. The water shines in shades of green and reflects the forest and mountains around it, giving the place a magical feel. Parking is easy and costs €6 for 1-2 hours, which is fair for such a stunning spot. A calm and lovely stop, well worth visiting if you’re in the area.

A beautiful little alpine lake with stunning turquoise water and breathtaking mountain views in the background. It’s an easy hike, you can walk around it in about 1 hour. Unfortunately, it’s quite a popular tourist spot, so unless you arrive early in the morning, it can get very crowded. Luckily, most visitors tend to stay near the starting point to take photos, so the rest of the trail around the lake is much quieter and more peaceful.

Simply breathtaking! An easy walk around the lake with stunning views and mind-blowing colors. You can drive there (paid parking), and while the lake was shallow, the reflections of the clouds made it absolutely worth the visit!

Nice castle to visit. They have restored many items in museum style to watch. Beautiful rooms, paintings, wall and ceiling paintings. We had to wait in a long row to buy tickets. It’s probably worth it to buy your tickets online.

So cool — I love the paintings on exhibit, the architecture, the general feeling of being in a well preserved castle. We highly recommend visiting if you are passing through!

This Castello, which also features an attached palazzo, punches way above its weight. The museum features a rich and detailed history with many artifacts spanning the 10,000 years of civilization around the greater Trentino region. The museum also offers an interesting lesson of the incredibly complex political history of this pivotal region. The castle and later – built palazzo are far more extensive than I realized, and include an eventual climb to the top of the palazzo that commands sweeping views of Trento and its stunning valley. The beautiful gardens around the fortress are an added bonus!

A must see when in Trento! There are so many corners and hidden gems all along the castle! Staff is friendly and helpful. Don't miss the garden/courtyard in the back of the palace. At some points it felt a bit like Hogwarts :)

Pretty good. You can spend here few hours. If you have Trentino Card, you can have discounted entry ticket (for adult) 7 euros.

Nice castle with an exposition about local art from the area. There was also an exposition from a local artist from the 18th century which was quite nice and very comprehensive. The layout of the castle and the expositions is a little confusing as is the location of the entrance. At the top of the castle there is a really nice view of the whole city and the surrounding valley.

The most renowned monument in Trento. With more than a 1000 years' history, a spectacular painting cycle in the Aquila's tower and numerous events and exibits during the year, is an absolute must during your stay in Trento !

The exterior looks promising but the interior and amount of content is fairly limited. In comparison the much older natural science museum in Bergamo is much more interesting and holds much more specimens. That’s being said, it’s still a good option for a rainy day.

Great place for kids, and adults too. 5 stories of natural/tech entertainment with plenty of interactive activities. You can easily spend 3h there. Booking in advance highly recommended, especially on peak season. Tickets are timeslotted, with entries every 30 mins or so. Tickets is pretty cheap and with family packages options.

Beautiful museum with lots of possibilities to learn about interconnection of nature and animals as well as impacts of day to day behavior on our ecosystem. Ohr kids loved the self-experience area on second floor

Great museum for kids. Our 5yo boy was impressed by dinosaurs and interactive stands. 2 hours was enough.

An excellent, medium-sized museum with a rich and diverse exhibition. It's sensibly arranged so you can explore it according to your needs—some sections in detail, others just for a quick glance. A lot about natural history and a bit about the human impact on it. Interesting for both adults and children, even for easily bored teenagers—proven! Many interactive elements will delight young visitors. And the building itself - a piece od excellent architekture by Renzo Piano, worth seeing!

This is the most wonderful science museum I’ve ever visited. It has 5 floors of exhibitions and the last one is a terrace with great view. There is even a greenhouse with tropical plants, live birds, butterflies, fishes. There are a lot of activities for children, so they can learn, play and have fun in a museum. I love the whole idea and how it was executed. I highly recommend this museum both for children and adults.

I tried to visit this military shrine dedicated to the soldiers who died in this area during the First World War. Unfortunately, the shrine is currently closed for renovation, and it seems it has been closed for quite some time. From the outside, however, the shrine looks truly impressive.

Sacrario Militare di Asiago – Ossario del Leiten 🇮🇹 For those who appreciate history and quiet reflection, the Sacrario del Leiten in Asiago is a place of deep emotional impact. Located on Leiten Hill at 1,058 meters above sea level, it overlooks the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities with striking majesty. Designed by architect Orfeo Rossato between 1932 and 1936, it was inaugurated in 1938 as a monumental ossuary to hold the remains of over 54,000 Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers who died in World War I. The structure consists of two main levels: a square crypt (80 meters per side) with wide corridors leading to an octagonal chapel, and above it, a towering triumphal arch with four fronts, standing 47 meters tall. A grand staircase flanked by symmetrical ramps leads visitors to the top, where engraved arrows point toward the surrounding mountains and former battle sites—a stone memorial that powerfully links landscape, memory, and history. Inside, silence is broken only by the engraved names of fallen soldiers—both identified and unknown—including twelve awarded the Gold Medal of Military Valor. Their memory is preserved with solemn dignity. Recently restored, the site is once again open to the public (Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM–12 PM and 2 PM–5 PM), now featuring an educational exhibit with artifacts and informative panels about the Great War. A powerful and moving place that combines monumental architecture, solemn landscapes, and a deeply reflective atmosphere. Ideal for those seeking a moment of remembrance, beauty, and historical significance.

The Sacrario Militare di Asiago sits heavy against the soft landscape of the Altopiano, its stark presence unmistakable from a distance. Walking the long, tree-lined approach felt almost ceremonial. an intentional stretch of silence before entering the crypt. Inside, the light is low, the marble cool, and the atmosphere reverent. Thousands of names line the walls in endless corridors, a sobering reminder of the brutal scale of World War I on this front. It’s not a place of grand gestures or theatrical design, but of weight and stillness. The weathering on the ceiling only adds to the gravity, a quiet surrender to time. Standing in that vast hall of sacrifice, it’s impossible not to reflect. This isn’t just a monument, it’s a statement, and one that lingers with you long after you’ve left the hill.
