Very beautiful park but relatively small. I took my time going through and looked at everything but still you only need like half a day fore the visit, wich is okay. There are many flowers but also many structures and green spots with trees where you can sit and enjoy the flowers. They have some bird cages but nothing really special or big. All in all an good park fore a visit

A wonderful oasis of beauty!! It's worth spending a full day in the magnificent gardens and visiting the potager, the birds and the butterfly House, + many other surprises along the way. The château and the bridge over the river generously offer peaceful areas of contemplation. The little train helps children and elderly take advantage of all the beauty and great educational opportunities on offer. For me, the highlights were the chapel, the rose and dahlia gardens, and spending time in the sun around the stunning water fountain. A truly wonderful place. I hope to go back soon.

This park is absolutely lovely. You can spend hours in there discovering all sorts of flowers and trees. There are several play grounds and a butterfly house. There’s also an area with animals (chicken, bunnies, alpacas, donkeys,…), a little train that goes around the park, Minigolf and you can rent little carts to cycle through the park yourself. During the winter months it is only open for a couple of hours in the afternoon. If you plan on going more than once it’s worth getting a annual pass.

Large and Vast floral parc, in winter season the entrance is free., but you can't see the butterflies. I went 2 times to be able to visit it all! Some animals such as Squirrel and Greater Flamingos can be spotted. And many birds! Great place to bring kids. You also can have a picnic here.

We visited the castle on Sunday, late June and it was almost empty. Only few other tourists. We do not speak French and it was a little leaflet provided in English (and few other languages) that you scan via your phone. We went there because of the Escape Game they advertise on their website. There is no info anywhere that the game was only in French and we learned about it when we entered the castle. Even though, we tried to play using our mediocre knowledge of French and translator but escape room riddles were mostly destroyed, with missing elements that make the solving of the room impossible. Everyone walked in and out with no one from the castle to bring back the settings to the start level in the rooms. What sounded like a fun experience for a family turned out to be dusty, very worn out place, totally not worth the money. Visit for the chateau only doesn’t seem justified for this price. There are other, better preserved castles to visit in the area. We were very disappointed.

A beautiful and interesting visit, also great for children with activities in the park. No fuss about security. You can bring your picnic. The escape rooms and the live goose game in the park are great to keep your children busy.

We stayed at the two gites (Garenne and Ermitage) for two nights for a wedding. Garenne has a narrow spiral staircase which is challenging to navigate with luggage. The rooms are simple - there wasn't a dresser for our clothing. The family and kitchen space is large. There are ample showers but only two toilets per floor which can be challenging when all rooms are full. Ermitage had a smell of wood smoke. There was no way to lock up individual rooms yet chateau visitors would be wandering around the grounds so we locked our valuables in the car. There was no wifi in either gite or the Orangerie. There are no screens on the windows so if you leave a light on, the room will fill with bugs at night. There is a good bakery across the street. The town is a short walk away. Overall, a very simple experience.

Lovely day out. Really enjoyed our little visit to this Chateau. They had some egg hunt activities on the day we went , perfect for kids. They also had a lady making madelaine in the downstairs kitchen , we had to buy some ! A descent amount of things to see in the castle , and lovely to walk on the ground if the weather is nice.

I am giving this 4* when I would so much like to give it 5*. We are from the UK and have been to Jodrell Bank and the Planetarium. As we were staying nearby this was an obvious choice for us as we are interested in the sky/stars and technology. It is the 4th largest radio telescope in the world. We looked round the exhibition which had alot of things to view. Our issue is we speak very little French and assumed that there would be some information in English. We are wrong to assume this and should, I know, make more of an effort to learn more French as we holiday here a few months each year. Also in the Planetarium experience only half of the show did we have an ear set which was in English. A young and obviously knowledgeable gentleman then continued with the remainder of the tour. Again in French so we only picked up snippets. So, in summary, if you are English you need to be fully conversant in French to get the best out of this visit. We will be taking French lessons when we get home! If we are ever nearby we will definitely return to gain the best experience.

Small planetarium with science exhibition. And a COLOSSAL radio telescope within view that you can watch on a guided tour!. It's worth a visit for sure if you like science (but why else would you end up on this page? )

Well after reading some of the reviews on here we were unsure whether to go into the visitor centre or not, we did and I’m so glad that we did, the couple at reception were very friendly and both spoke some english, they even arranged for us to have an English guide in the planetarium, The planetarium itself was in two parts, the first with the guide giving us a little explanation in english, for the second part we were provided with audio headsets with English narration. All in all a very well worth experience and good value. Take note, no mobile phones or other wifi devices are allowed, we left ours in the car, there is no 3g4g signal anyway.

Wonderful experience - we had phoned before our visit and an English speaking member of staff was there to meet us. He gave us the Planetarium talk and a tour of the telescope site. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions very clearly. Would definitely recommend for anyone with an interest in astronomy.

There is no English nowhere, I understand many things due to the fact that i love astronomy, but you should make english descriptions to all there.

By the staircase and the corridors decorated by Maurice Sand, we go upstairs: the cabinet of curiosities, Chopin's room that George had transformed into storage after their break-up, the blue room with walls and hangings with Louis XVI medallions, where George Sand lived her last moments. Finally, Maurice's small theater where people enjoyed playing and singing on winter evenings. A true treasure trove for all fans of the author and of Frédéric Chopin, who composed a large part of his work here. Don't forget to pay your respects at the author's grave...

Stunning location stunning house. Downside is you get a tour of the house in French which is absolutely epic... hard if you don't speak Frenchand you be then be standing around for an hour and a half. I don't understand why they not let you just walk around or at least have an English guided tour. The marionette exhibition upstairs bookshop is free. Closed between 12 and 2 restaurant opposite little church has an amazing tart tartin but is very expensive. If you go on a Thursday the little cafe in the house grounds has a nice affordable menu.

We enjoyed a pleasant walk around the grounds whilst waiting for the house to open. There was not much information on how the tour would be conducted and we were not made aware that the entire tour would be accompanied by a French native who did not speak English. You were not able to walk around the house unattended and the narrative given by the guide in each room, was extensive, which would have been really interesting if our understanding of French was more extensive. We did escape along with quite a few other non French speaking visitors, when the tour went upstairs, so sadly we didn’t get to see the top floor of the property. We felt that if there was an option for either an electronic audio guide or an app that linked to an audio guide for that particular property, it would have enabled us to enjoy the details of all aspects of the property and it’s various historical inhabitants.

I was fortunate to be taken here by my local guide and enlightened regarding the life and legacy of George Sand. I visited this beautiful site and grounds in 2024 and thoroughly recommend it. The tours are in French, and as my abilities in French are elementary at best, there is an English brochure they will lend you to carry along on the tour that gives the background of each room on the tour. Truly a fascinating monument worth a visit if you find yourself in Central France. Merci!

This is quiet unique and huge. It was a private home. But the owner was even richer than the king. And exact that's it how it looks - posh. But the selfguided tour, I recommand the audioguide for 3€, is it worth. The rooms are mostly clean, but some are really nice painted or have wooden ceilings. You have to climb a bit stairs, but take your time. I spend 2 hours, but 1 hour is absolutely makeable to see all rooms. If you want deeper info to some points the guide has a green button, I didn't used it, but its surly your chouce🙂.

Although I don't know much about architectural styles, I know about this palace that it fascinated me. The beauty of the facade of the inner courtyard simply takes your breath away. I went to visit it on a Thursday morning, I don't like it when it's crowded, I love to admire these beauties in peace. The price was €8. Although there is not much furniture in the palace rooms, it makes up for it with architectural details that are amazing. I couldn't wait to open the next door and be amazed by the beauty that surrounds me.

A beautiful monument to visit and discover through a one hour guided tour. The Palace is huge and only a part of this rich house can be visited. Sculptures, wooden cellars, impressive xvii century murals, ancient floors... The particularity of this place is that it results in a mix of a lot of architecture styles. It's a rare example of civilian 'gothique flamboyant' in France. Really worth to enter, even if the streetside wall is already very well decorated and remarkable for its original stone sculptures.

Out of all the cathedrals that we have seen so far in our trip, this was one of my favorite ones! It's breathtaking and unique. The way the columns are made gives you the impression it's drawn with a pencil. It was absolutely worth the detour!

Beautiful Cathedral This is a great holy place to visit. Fantastic & Iconic building in the heart of Bourges. As usual in France this Cathedral is very old. Around 800 years. It is well worth your time to visit and admire the amazing architecture both inside and outside.

There is a good history of the cathedrale at the entrance. This one isnt shaped like a cross but has a real 2nd and 3rd story balcony that can be visited on weekends in the summer. You can also visite the crypt and underground chapel all year round with a guide. Ask at the entrance booth.

The architecture is absolutely impressive, it is among the most beautiful cathedrals visited, gorgeous on the inside but the outside does not disappoint either.

Bourges cathedral is a must visit. We went in the morning between 8 & 9 when the light from the east perfectly lights the cathedral from the gardens. It is also very quiet and peaceful. It is extremely grand with many arches.

Maybe this is the most beautiful cathedral I’ve visited since now. The interior of the cathedral is imposing and spectacular, with wonderful stained-glass windows. The crypt is well worth a visit; it must be booked in advance and is usually combined with a visit to the Jacques Coeur Palace.

Absolutely amazing place , noises , sounds , whispers , crickets, squeaks! Immerse yourself into a historic sound wrapped design enchanting place !

This is a beautiful medieval Cistercian Abbey, who's life as a religious centre was ended by the French revolution. It has been lovingly restored and is still peaceful and atmospheric. It has an excellent café managed by a delightful lady and the reception staff were friendly a welcoming. We cycled to the Abbaye and found dedicated cycle parking - cyclists welcome! Well worth a visit and recommended.

We went for “flâneries lumineuses”. Great experience to visit this beautiful abbey in night time. The lights made the place amazing. You have possibility to have picnic outside in the garden. The place is well maintained. My son also enjoyed the visit. Ticket for adult is 5 euros and free for kids. If you are in the region you should visit this abbey. The restaurant near the abbey looks great. We will try it next time.

Must go to in Sancerre to learn the basics of wine production and the history. The 4d cinema was interesting and immersive, although actually expect 4d experience (in case dog is with you). Wine tasting format was good (self-service), and if you want additional tasting you can easily top up credit. Good selection of wines to taste and helpful staff. The outdoor area has a great view to enjoy the wine with.

Wineries in France are pretty different than in the US so if you want to drink Sancerre with a view of some vineyards and the valley this is the easiest place to do it! (Especially without a reservation). You can learn about the area and/or do multiple tastings. I’m someone who likes to just explore a town and wander into places and if that’s you too, this place will welcome you!

An interesting little museum explaining the history and workings of this important wine growing area. You will learn about how the geography, history and soil influences the taste of the wines, plus there is lots of information about what happens during each season in preparation for the annual harvest. You are given a set of 3D glasses when you enter - so make sure you watch the short film in an immersive cinema! You can also take a walk through the sensory garden - where you can smell lots of aromatic herbs - many notes that are found in the local wines. Top tip: You can take part in a wine tasting session after your visit - sampling some of the delicious local wines.

We decided to travel to areas of France we had only driven through this year and seen signs on the Autoroute as places to visit. Some have been disappointing, some devastating to see the neglect. Sancerre was not one of these, but the surrounding villages and towns were very run down and make Swindon look well run, just my thoughts.

A nice place to visit, with lots of information about the production of the wine but the wine tasting was a little disappointing - you buy coupons and insert them in a machine which automatically dispenses wine of your choice. You are very much left to yourself to do this. It would have been nice if someone was in this area to assist. There were only staff nearby who were working in the reception area.

Great welcome from the friendly staff, really interesting museum over 3 floors. Lots to read with excellent translation into English. Also you'll have headphones to listen to hundreds of pieces of music, from pop to hurdy gurdy, bagpipes guitar etc..The museum is well set out with toilets, cloakroom and drink machine on the ground floor. There are hundreds of old photos, beautiful instruments and interactive things to do. You'll need at least two and a half hours, but often there is a temporary exhibition too, in which case I would allow three to four hours. There is wheelchair access and a lift too. Definitely worth a visit.

A marvelous museum filled with historical instruments showcasing music from every era. The interactive displays (headsets allowing you to hear various pieces of music or particular instruments) added so much enjoyment. The temporary exhibit was entertaining as well (currently movie music combined with Lego sets). Looking forward to returning again and again.

Pretty good museum but the english text don't correspond to the French text... The toilet aren't really big and the light in there were going crazy. there wasn't enough private space to kiss. We still found a spot behind the black vibrating cage to kiss where nobody could see us. Anyway, we had fun and the museum was funny, interesting but really quick if you don't read the text.

Have visited this museum many times over the last few years, and some exhibitions I've liked much better than others. The Christian Lacroix is up there as one of the best, the costumes are stunning! I'd highly recommend it!

A fantastic museum which revives our history through opera and theater costumes...a trip through the ages, the arts and fashion! You will surely like the permanent exhibition on a great dancer, choregraph and producer : Noureiev ! Please do not forget to enjoy the premices : a former military garnison, saved from destruction thanks to its patrimonial protection. Stairs are splendid !

Beautiful building currently showing Noureev & Carnival de Rio costumes. I unfortunately didn't realise the Rio show meant the fairytale theatre costumes weren't on show & I rushed passed as many kids in the way to find that was all there was!

Let’s just start by saying that my boyfriend and I have worked in show-business for years. Him as a stage manager and I, a costumer… we had high hopes! We were not disappointed!! We were there for the Cabaret exhibit and it was beautiful! I absolutely loved every minute of our visit and it was well worth it. Whether for the industry or not, there’s information for everyone. Perfectly presented, the stage exhibit is also very well organized and detailed. They rotate the exhibits as their collection is very large. So it’s worth going back for more! I know I will be. We took a good 2 or 3 hours to visit, but I was just fascinated by all there was to see!

A must-visit in Moulins. Guided tour only which must be booked by phoning the Musée Anne de Beaujeu. The guide is very professional and informative. The house is sumptuously furnished and full of surprises and quirks. I have not enjoyed a guided tour so much for a long time!

Totally brillant place. Excellent and knowledgeable guide who made the visit a total pleasure for the visitor who is keen on history. Full of awesome details that tell the visitor, as Mantin wished, how a (erudite) bourgeois of the late 1800s lived. Must see.

We took a quick stroll through the exhibition, and the guided tour. The tour itself is only in French. Our guide really nailed it. He was so sympathetic and enthusiastic and it was fun and interesting to watch him. On top of that his English was very good and he translated the main facts for us, which made the tour through this amazing house even better.

This is a very cool museum experience, bringing you into a perfectly restored late 19th C bourgeois house. Everything is original, a snapshot in time, as the owner dictated in his will over a century ago. Fascinating place, nice, knowledgeable guide who speaks English. Highly worth a trip to the delightful town of Moulin!

A most inspiring Romanesque church, which deserves to spend quite some time. Please sit down and enjoy the peaceful, well-lit atmosphere. The church often welcomes sacred music concerts...a memorable experience! Will you find the two symbols which help say this is a minor basilica and not just a church? They are located in the choir: the umbraculum (or papal umbrella) in the right side of the altar, and the crosses keys on the left.

A Romanesque basilica which dates from the 12th century with more recent additions. Although not overly ornate compared to many other churches of its size in France, the decorations are of very fine qualityespecially the murals on the ceiling snf stained glass windows.

I called and asked if we can come with a boy 4 years old and someone on the phone told me 'yes' and explained the prices and opening hours, pool temperature, everything. We drove 200 km to reach there and the ladies on the reception didn't allow us to enter because of our 4 years son - there is a special schedule for the little ones and can't enter any time. And we were not on the right time of course because the lady on the phone didn't explain that. So we came for nothing and they didn't want to make any exception for ONE child. Very disappointed. Also this schedule you can't see on their website.

Nice enough thermal springs with a large pool inside and outside. Not very big. If you like lower temperatures it is 30-32C. For me this was very cold and very unpleasant while I was in the water. However after I got out of the water and dried off it felt pretty relaxing. 11€ for one hour 15.50€ for one session. One hour is plenty unless you wanna freeze...

It was a stressful experience, after you pay them they kick you out cause they didn't sayed the rules from the beginning; made me spend double just to swim for 2 hours.

Rude unhelpful staff and arrogant life guards who spent their time messing about rather than doing their job. We were wearing swimming trunks but told these were prohibited as unhygienic, despite this being lake water complete with ducks and even a water rat!!! Ridiculous non-sensical rules and rigorously enforced and the only thing that the lifeguards actually engaged in. Avoid!

The area here is not quite famous for a refreshing dip on hot summer days, but you take what you get. As long as you don’t want to end up like a sardine in the surveilled area next to the parking space, you should not have a problem with wading through the mud when entering the lake. The water is not really cold, but let’s pretend you can refresh a little on warmer days. It is very nice for a walk in the woods on the other, less frequented side. SUP and pedal boat rental is not on the side of the parking space, you either have to swim or walk to the other side, also passing the aerial adventure park - which could also be a nice attraction for kids. You can also find a restaurant and an ice cream parlour. Besides the parking fee the access to the lake is free of charge, though you may find a separate lido having an entrance fee.

The official website says pool open in June from 11h to 18h. We get there at 17:30 for a quick swim but the pool was already closed.

I'm inlove with this place, especially the smell of fresh nature. You can do a lot of activities, swimming, biking, fishing, camping, horse riding, etc. You will love to go back again and again to this place. 🥰🥰🥰

Life changing experience

Had an amazing experience! I was looking forward to my trip to Firminy, especially the guided tour of the Housing Unit. Unfortunately, the tickets on the website were sold out, but after emailing the staff they made it possible for me and my friend to have the tour, which turned out to be amazing. The guide made sure to include us (non-French) in the tour and translated most of the important information. Everyone was really nice and helpful, I can’t imagine having a better experience. Thank you so much ❤️

If visiting these buildings I strongly recommend to take guided tour. It provides great understanding of the circumstances when the buildings were made and also a lot of interesting details in them.

Great and easy hiking trail to climb to the top; the scenery along the trail overlooks vineyards and little hamlets and is awesome for picture taking. The view from the top of the rock is breathtaking!

Beautiful view from the top! Nice walk. It took us with 2 kids (8/9 years) about 90 minutes in total, including chilling for 30 minutes at the top.

Popular hike it seems, quite a lot of people did the walk to the top which has a very nice view over the area. It took us +-30mins, for 1.7km. You can start at one of the (free) parkings, there should be enough place. We did the descent via Combe Robat til the town of Vergisson. Finally through the vineyards back to the parking. You can follow the yellow marks. This direction is very quiet and more fun. Our daughters of 8 and 11 joined us, and in total we walked 6km.

Very nice place to visit to get a view over the pouilly fussé vineyards. Quite an easy walk up from the parking place. Apparently Francois Mitterrand used to walk the hill once a year. There is also a museum, which was closed when we were there

Always a pleasure to visit this eco friendly, unassuming and welcoming place. Spent three hours strolling around the wolves enclosures and admiring the beautiful birds of prey. As it was low season, we literally had the park to ourselves. The bird show was not programmed but we still saw them training and flying over the arena from the distance. Thank you for this beautiful park with its friendly staff and for the conservation work done here. I will definitely be back!

Bird show was fantastic

We arrived knowing the museum was closed but wanted to have a shop for a few bottles from the Beaujolais selection. The shop was extremely quiet but we found a very accommodating staff member who allowed us to taste 6 wines at the bar/restaurant and then choose our favourites to buy. This staff member (sorry we didn’t catch your name) gave us 5 star level service. He truly made our day. Thanks Mr. Gentleman Kindly (not his real name).

As a tour guide I need to say that this place is one of the most wonderful places I have been. If you want to see the history and enjoy the beautiful Beaujolais, you must visit this place

Really fun afternoon! They have put a lot of effort into creating a fun way to learn about wine with an amazing collection of artifacts and great attractions. Really made me appreciate the history of wine in the region and enough going on to keep the kids going until the all important wine tasting! (Which would not happen at a normal vineyard where they would last about 5 mins!)

It has a few interactive areas to appeal to children, although I'm not sure how many would really appreciate this museum. There is also an included wine tasting with 2 wines. So why did I only give 3 stars? As an English speaker with weak French skills, there were a number of plaques without any English translation. But most importantly, I found the museum rather pricey: €20. There are 4 areas to view: The hamlet, the train station, the gardens and the wine cellar. When I came on October 10, the garden and wine cellar had just closed for the year, but I still had to pay full price. I'm sorry, but paying full price for half of the displays doesn't sit well with me.

I visited Touroparc Zoo a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! What made this experience so special was how hands-on it was. Unlike other soigneur experiences where you barely get to interact with the animals, Christophe made sure we were involved and engaged the whole way through. You can tell he genuinely cares for the all the reptiles and takes great pride in sharing that with others. We had the chance to see so many incredible species up close, and he gave us a fascinating look into what it’s really like to work behind the scenes at a zoo. Thank you, Christophe, for making my birthday so memorable. Your enthusiasm made the visit come alive! Highly recommend this experience to anyone, whether you're an animal lover or just curious. Truly a 10/10!

Very! nice park but absolutely ridiculous how weird they are about the height in the attractions, when accompanied by an adult. I was not allowed to drive the horses attraction with my baby who really got to love this attraction in Parc le pal. We stood 15 minutes in the burning sun. When it was our turn he pointed at the sign saying my baby should be 90cm. At Parc le pal we did this attraction multiple times without an issue. This ruined the moment. All other safe attractions you can do as parent with your kid, is not allowed, really frustrating. The wild water attraction or the mono rail are allowed :/ Please check your height restrictions... Everything else is really nice, but above gave everything a bad taste.

The VIP and Soigneur experiences are totally worth it. We have done the VIP visit twice and the both times was super amazing. Highly recommended. We chose to do the Soigneur experience in the reptile house and we're extremely happy with our choice. It was very very interactive and we learned so many interesting facts from Christoph. Thanks so much for the amazing experience with Curu, the snakes, lizards, iguana, crocodiles, and turtles!

I have mixed feelings about zoos, I went because my company organized a visit. First time in my life I've been in the presence of a gorilla, no more than a few meters away. First time I've seen a gorilla eating fruits and.... yogurt? This gorilla was being hand fed by the owner of this zoo, Mr. Pierre, he was feeding her inside her room it was fascinating to see. First time I've seen a lion run firsthand, and very upclose. And last but not least, first time I've heard a group of 10+ chimpanzees quarreling, calling out and "screaming". This zoo gave me a sense of humbleness and some sort of primal fear I've never felt before. It made me realize how majestic and imposing these animals can be, yet how beautiful they are too. I liked the back story too. I hope they are truly living up to their mission. I'm still thinking about what I saw.

Very nice zoo! The zoo was larger than I expected and had a nice range of animals. I really enjoyed seeing the Sun Bears and all of the monkeys.

What a great zoo. Never seen so many active animals at a zoo before. The tigers and lions were magnificent and playing with each other rather than just sleeping or pacing. Good close up viewing with all the animals. Also it's obvious that the zoo is expanding their enclosure space so it'll be interesting to see what it looks like the next time we return. Well worth the entrance fee and we will definitely return when we are in this area.

Good zoo close by Lyon. The zoo offers some great species of animals, but I think the price is too high. You can spend a couple of hours here, but the park is small and completed within 2 hours. We missed a bunch of animals, despite taking the time to spend extra time in the park after finishing the route. We missed the coatis, servals, binturongs, dingos and some more. Very poor habitats for some animals and some animals did not seem to have any space, like the ocelots. We did really enjoy seeing the snow leopards and the arctic wolves. The park smells bad in a lot of places and the hygiene in the toilets is just bad. For such a price we expected clean toilets somewhere, but it was very poorly maintained. Parking is free. €18,50 is too much in this case, but it’s not a total waste. Hopefully it is being used for future wellbeing of the animals.

Conservation focused zoo with quite a lot of interesting primate exhibits (amongst a lot of other types of animals). Big enough that you can spend a few hours here but also not so big that it has to take up your entire day. The zoo is positioned up a hill so there is some elevation change during your walk through but the park is entirely accessible (wheelchairs of course, but that means also strollers too Mamas… even enough room through entrances and pathways for huge American double strollers). And the layout of the enclosures up the hill allows for really good viewing of the animals in their enclosures.
