Lake Brienz was one of our favourite spots when we visited Interlaken. Strolling along the lakeside and browsing the shops on both sides of the street was such a relaxing experience.

This stunning lake in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland is one of the most scenic and serene places in the country. Surrounded by majestic mountains, lush forests, and picturesque villages, Lake Brienz offers a variety of activities and attractions for every type of traveller. Whether you want to relax on a boat ride, swim in the crystal-clear water, hike to a waterfall, or explore a historic town, Lake Brienz has something for you. We stayed at Lake Brienz, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and scenic moments of our trip. The lake's turquoise blue waters are truly mesmerizing. Absolutely captivated by the scenery. Waking up to a view of the Eiger and Jungfrau bathed in early sunlight is something I’ll never forget. The crisp mountain air, the mirror-calm lake, and the gentle sound of water lapping against the quay created the perfect backdrop for a peaceful stroll. Treated to postcard perfect views, a serene water, flower lined pathways, and the gentle rhythm of swans gliding across the lake. It is a must visit. PS: Whether you’re sipping a coffee as dawn breaks or enjoying the rose-gold glow of sunset on snowy peaks, every moment here feels like a postcard comes to life. If you’re after pure Alpine beauty and true relaxation, this spot i.e the Lake Brienz is not to be missed. Highly recommended for visiting when in Swiss.

Activities - Kayaking & Paddleboarding, Hiking & Biking, Photography, hiking trails. perfect for strolling and offer a glimpse into Swiss rural life. A half-day to full-day visit is ideal to soak in the breathtaking scenery.

Absolutely breathtaking. The top of Europe it prides itself as. 3475M of elevation. A must visit if you're in Grindelwald. You have to change trains twice to get up here but the views are amazing. Theres different stations that you can go to and there's an ice station as well. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here.

There’s no denying it: the Jungfraujoch is one of the most spectacular spots in all of Switzerland. The panorama is simply breathtaking — an endless sea of snow and glaciers framed by the iconic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. It’s the kind of place that makes you whisper “wow” before you even realize you’re doing it. That said, the experience is very tourist-oriented — and I say that with both appreciation and a smile. On the one hand, it’s impressive how accessible everything is: tunnels, elevators, shops, cafés, even an ice palace. The Swiss engineering behind this mountaintop infrastructure deserves applause. On the other hand, the sheer number of visitors can make you feel like you’ve taken a scenic detour through a luxury shopping mall at 3,500 meters. And then there’s the crowd itself — a fascinating, unstoppable wave of excited tourists from all over the world. You haven’t truly experienced the Jungfraujoch until you’ve seen a group of people taking selfies in sneakers at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level. It’s equal parts surreal and entertaining — like a nature documentary directed by Wes Anderson. All in all, the Jungfraujoch remains an unforgettable experience. It’s beautiful, over-the-top, slightly chaotic, and absolutely worth it. Just don’t expect solitude or silence — and maybe bring sunglasses, patience, and a good sense of humor along with your camera.

Absolutely stunning, snow all round the year, less tourist compared to Titlis. A nice tour route set up. You will clearly need 5 hrs and more if you want to enjoy every spot at your pace. The snowtubing and sledging were absolute fun. 20 CHF for Half hour and unlimited rides. Ice palace was beautifully carved. The hot chocolate shop at Aletsch glacier was yummy. Point to note- you have to walk a lot there, but for older people and people who are unable to walk a lot, there are places to sit in the warmth of the tunnel and enjoy the views.

Wooden chalets cling to the mountainsides like timeless guardians, and the air carries the clean, ringing silence of high places—broken only by the distant echo of waterfalls or the soft bells of grazing cows. From this lofty terrace, the giants of the Bernese Alps—Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—stand like ancient sentinels, their snowy crowns catching the first blush of dawn and the last gold of evening. The clouds drift low, brushing past rooftops like wandering spirits, and every path leads to vistas that feel almost unreal, as if the mountains had stepped out of a painting and invited you to walk inside. Mürren is not merely a place to visit; it is a place to feel. A place where time loosens its grip, where every breath tastes of pine and glacier, and where the heart instinctively slows to the rhythm of the land. It is Switzerland at its most enchanting—quiet, majestic, and impossibly beautiful.

never would, I have thought that I would experience my first high altitude sickness at Jungfraujoch. It was a torturous 20 minutes however, most of my time spent there was nothing short of amazing

An absolute must see if you're in the Jungfrau region. The views of the Alps are unreal. The viewing platform at the Sphinx and the area with the flags lower down give the best photo opportunities. The ice sculptures are worth checking out.

The number one attraction as well as the most expensive attention in all of Switzerland. It cost about $500 usd for two people. The gondola ride up is amazing and the best cable car ride in the world. After the cable car you arrive at eigen glacier which is also very beautiful, then you take the train up to jungfraujoch and the train stops in the middle for you to see another glacier. Once you’re at the top there are several stations you can take a look at most of which can be seen in the photos I posted. You’ll also want to check their public webcam to make sure the weather is good on the day you come.

Maybe the one thing in Switzerland that doesn’t feel overpriced. Awesome experience. The roaring of the waterfalls in the caves was potentially a cooler experience than the actual waterfalls themselves. Plenty of parking Pro tip: take elevator to the 6-10 waterfalls and then make your way down from 6-1. Was an hour and a half experience for us.

Spectacular falls which are well set up with all the different viewpoints. I took the lift up to viewpoint 6 then walked the stairs to the top, which isn't difficult but you definitely need good grippy shoes. I didn't get too wet, only a few drips here and there but you will need a jacket as it is very cold. There is a little souvenir shop located along the path as well as the cafe with clean toilets. I stopped for coffee and a muffin, both were delicious 😋

An unforgettable experience! Trümmelbach Falls is a truly unique natural wonder — 10 glacier waterfalls hidden inside a mountain, carrying meltwater from the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. You ride a lift up through the rock and walk through tunnels, stairs, and bridges carved into the cliff. It’s moderately physical (lots of steps!), but totally worth it. The sound and power of the waterfalls — up to 20,000 liters per second — is breathtaking. Well organized, very safe, and perfect for a 1-hour visit. Highly recommend wearing good non-slip shoes. Tickets were CHF 14 for adults (2024) and free parking is just a 2-minute walk from the entrance.

Trümmelbach Falls, in Lauterbrunnen Valley lets you walk inside a mountain, with roaring waterfalls echoing through rock tunnels. The short hike includes stairs up and down, so wear sturdy shoes. There is optional lift inside the mountain. Visit early to avoid crowds and bring a waterproof jacket—the spray is strong. Tickets can be bought on site. The dramatic sound and close-up views make it a rare natural wonder worth seeing. Photography is allowed but watch your gear around water.

Very cool experience! The admission is 15CHF per adult and 7CHF per kid and for us it is it was definitely worth it. Not to mention that the walk to the area is breathtaking.

The walk to the falls was magical! There is an entry fee, I can’t recall the amount. You will get wet. There’s a bakery that you can enjoy before or after that was delightful!

Visiting Schilthorn Piz Gloria was absolutely one of the highlights of my trip. The cable car ride itself was an incredible experience, smooth, comfortable, and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. As we ascended, the scenery just kept getting more and more spectacular. At the top, the weather was perfect, which made the whole experience even more magical. The 360° views from Piz Gloria are truly stunning with snow-capped peaks, valleys, and endless mountain ranges that leave you speechless. The Bond-themed touches add a fun and unique twist to the visit, but the natural beauty alone is worth every penny. It’s not just a sightseeing trip, it’s an unforgettable adventure. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, I can confidently say this was worth every moment and every cent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Switzerland!

Somewhat pricey to take the gondola up to the top, but it's well worth it for the views. There is a bunch of James Bond history and plaquards. But the views alone are breathtaking. You should fefinitely wait for a clear day, othe you'll just be looking at the fog.

Break taking views! Certain areas were under construction, but it did not take away from our experience. Be sure to walk out to the point and enjoy time in one of the viewing boxes.

Was the filming location of a 007 movie. Granted it is not as high as Jungrafraujoch, but the views are equally fantastic. Highly recommended to make a trip here. There is a rotating restaurant at the tower area also as well that serves very decent buffet lunch.

Great experience. The cable car on the first stretch is supposedly the steepest in the world. Remembered to include the 9 Euro cheese / cold cut option, which is served at the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant. It comes with a drink and there was plenty of food to fill us up. And it tasted good, too. So pretty much a no-brainer. The view from the top was great. Unfortunately clouds descended while we were there and it even started to hail. Which kind of added to the whole experience. Some cool James Bond stuff - check out the bathroom mirrors! Unfortunately quite a lot of construction going on, which detracted from the whole experience. Will still give it 5 stars, but probably more like 4.5 due to construction, high cost and a very unpleasant guy in the ticket booth. Everything else was perfect and definitely an experience. Now back in the US and planning on watching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service tonight 😊

My less-than-ideal rating was solely due to the unfortunate timing of my visit. Otherwise, I would have missed the opportunity to go altogether. It was a heavily overcast day, because of that, I skipped exploring Birg and went straight up to Schilthorn instead. On top of the poor weather, Schilthorn was still under construction. After a quick browse through the gift shop, a short walk around the outdoor deck, and a light snack at the restaurant, it was already time to head back down. I’d have to return someday to truly experience the full beauty of this attraction. Hopefully on a clear day and once the construction is finally complete.

The views are priceless and it's definitely worth it to go! However, be warned that getting around through the construction is extremely difficult. It look 20 minutes to figure out how to go down to the Walk of Fame and the View Lounges. That, for me, was the best part. It's away from the hordes of people fighting to get the best selfie and closer to nature. You can see forever! The best time to go is usually between 15:00-18:00 in the summer (weather permitting) because the clouds tend to lift around that time.

Lake Thun is an absolutely stunning and romantic lake! I visited in 2019 with my family, and it was truly a memorable experience. The lake offers breathtaking views, crystal-clear water, and many beautiful picnic spots to relax and enjoy nature. Lake Thun is absolutely stunning! The serene waters and beautiful surrounding hills create a perfect atmosphere for families. Our children loved exploring the lakeside, watching the ducks, and simply enjoying the fresh air. Plenty of space to walk, relax, and soak in the views. A truly memorable spot that’s perfect for a family outing!

A dreamlike corner of Switzerland: Lake Thun Switzerland is breathtaking in every way, but Lake Thun has a special kind of magic. Surrounded by mountains, charming villages, and historic castles, it’s the perfect place to disconnect, breathe in fresh air, and marvel at nature. The water has a mesmerizing turquoise color, and every spot looks like it belongs on a postcard. Whether you’re sailing, strolling along the shore, or simply sitting down to take in the view, this lake offers peace and beauty in its purest form.

Lake Thun has absolutely amazing scenery. We spent almost an entire day there and still couldn't get enough. Starting in the morning, we enjoyed the view from St. Beatus Cave, getting a panoramic picture of the lake from above. Then we continued our adventure by ship, circling the lake and savoring every corner. The lake has very clear water, with beautiful typical farmhouses and the Swiss Alps in the background, adding to the picturesque setting. Every corner of the lake was stunning, perfect for healing and taking a break from your busy life.

The morning view of Lake Thun from Beatenberg is simply breathtaking and worth waking up early for.

This is the pinnacle of Matterhorn visit for any tourist. The highest cable car station with temperatures hoovering around sub zeros. Here you have three basic options one to visit the panoramic 360 view tower through a lift, second you can walk on the glacier upto the hiking trail to Breithorn and third you can the glacier cave by foot with mesmerising snow sculptures, crevices of glaciers to view live, and a walk through the sub zero temperature. You can easily spend atleast half a day but last of the cable car being at 6 p.m.

I definitely recommend, there activities for the whole day! First go to the top, enjoy the view and snow, you can climb the mountain if you want, enjoy Ice Palace, then. Go slowly down, there is lots of trails , lakes, there is amazing restaurants with the breathtaking view. I started 8.30 and came back to hotel 6pm... It worth every penny!

Overall, this is a great ride up close to the mountain. There’s a bunch of activities to do once you reach Klein Matterhorn. The cable car ride itself is worth the price because of how high it takes you and the views you get. However, if I compare this to Jungfraujoch I felt like our experience was much better in Jungfrau. If you’re in Zermatt though, this is what I’d recommend going for vs Gornergrat.

Wow...we were not sure when we arrived on Sunday evening as it was raining and we could not see anything. We decided to do the glacier paradise which was the best decision. Going up, we ran into heavy clouds and snow, we could barely see 4 m in front of us. The cable car was awesome. There is an ice castle with ice art, amazing stuff. Take extremely warm clothing, it gets below 5 degrees there. There is a good coffee and food shop, with other stuff like gifts, etc. There was snow so we got to play in the snow. The view point was closed unfortunately due to the heavy winds and the matterhorn was not visible. Overall, I'll do it again. And, ALWAYS GET A FULL OR HALF PASS DEPENDING ON HOW LONG YOU PLAN TO STAY. Half pass for short stays, full pass for longer stays.

Climbing the glacier at 3004 meters above sea level was an unforgettable experience. An elevator can also be taken down to a cave with ice images, part of which is located in Italy. The platform is with the elevator up and in good weather you can see an unforgettable view of the Matterhorn.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise was absolutely amazing. Easy gondola ride up from town, and the views at the top are insane. You’re surrounded by glaciers and massive peaks, and you can even spot mountaineers and skiers out on the snowfields. We hiked the Matterhorn Glacier Trail partway down, and the scenery was nonstop. Alpine lakes, rocky terrain, and the Matterhorn in the background the whole way. Easily one of the highlights of our trip to Zermatt.

Absolutely mind-blowing experience. I cannot recommend this enough, especially if you choose a day with perfect weather. The views are stunning from top to bottom. The Glacier paradise doesn't disappoint, the statues are amazing!

This is my 3rd trip to ski Cervinia. First time I actually stayed 7 days in town. I had a group of 8 people and we all agreed we would definitely go back. The town was easy to get around. Had plenty to do before and after skiing. The people were very friendly. The food was fantastic. The hotel was fantastic! The skiing and weather was second to none. Definitely plan on returning. A+ all the way around...

one of the best ski resorts in Europe. Thanks to the glacier and the high altitude - above 3500m - there will always be snow and skiing conditions. And the incredible beauty of the landscapes.

Perfect ski resort. Very recomemded especialy for beginners. The town itself is small and very nice, but not a real apre ski atmosphere. I advise to find a place to stay close to the Cretaz lift.

The best landscape ever: the Matterhorn is superbe, Les Grand Murailles are impressive, on the Plateau Rosa glacier you feel like touching the sky.

Cervino Ski Paradise is truly one of my favorite ski resorts in the world. The slopes are incredibly well-maintained, the views of the mountains are breathtaking, and there’s a perfect mix of runs for all levels. The lifts are fast and efficient, and the whole area has a wonderful alpine charm that makes every day on the snow a joy. The only thing I wish could be improved is accessibility for younger skiers and snowboarders: it would be amazing if prices were a bit more affordable for those under 30, making it easier for more people to experience this incredible place. Still, despite that, Cervino remains an unforgettable destination for any snow season lover.

Nice ski resort with great views especially the Matterhorn. Was very warm beginning of April so the snow became very wet and heavy early afternoon but this was to be expected for the time of year. Great skiing for beginners and intermediates. Some flat and uphill sections would benefit from a magic carpet or rope pull

Good number of runs across all levels and the ability to ski over at Zermatt as well is definitely a plus. Just be mindful of the time and not miss the last lift up to be back over at the Italian side as it can be a costly affair to miss the last lift back! View at the top is amazing!

I’m glad I ignored the handful of negative reviews, which mostly are from a few years ago. These thermal baths are quiet, in a stunning location and with helpful, friendly staff. The view from the outdoor pool is beautiful, the spa “village” is very good and the Aufguss - every two hours - was excellent; the man who led it was a master with the towels! The Roman-Irish bath was well done - sure, it’s not Baden-Baden and the facilities are a bit tired in places, but I’m very pleased I made the trip.

Wanted somewhere to relax after a day waking in the mountains and was going to go to one of the other pools after reading the reviews. The other place was too busy for me so decided to ignore the reviews and try here. So glad we did. The pools are lovely and the outdoor pool has a stunning view It wasn't at all crowded and so relaxing. Yes the changing rooms may need an update and some of the lockers too but they were clean and the staff helpful and friendly

The Spa/ Therme is in a bad condition. In the shower the handle fall off, lights are broken, the floor in the water is dirty. Multiple elevators are broken. One Sauna is out of orders for years and I payed 40.- CHF for 3h. All that said, it's a shame cause the building itself is beautiful and has a great view. And the idea of an underground Sauna village is also beautiful. Because it's so run down you also have not many people around either what is nice at least. Of you owner of this spa reading this review: Please please please renovate this spa! It would be a shame to see it go under.

Lovely spa, quiet with lots of capacity and a great variety of facilities. Possibly it could be described as dated but I don't think that detracted from my experience.

I absolutely love this thermal bath, amazing pools with incredible views, it's just simply gorgeous and the saunadorf is so unique and nice. Beautiful architecture.

we were checking this place out to experiance another thermal spring in leukerbad. sadly this place wasnt worth going since it was almost deserted (including the mal which was almost dead (most shops where closed for good and empty), and the baths were poorly visited (mid july!). it was a weird experience. economicaly this doesnt seem to check out anymore. also lots of stuff in bad shape and poorly maintained.

Nature is so beautiful, lots of marked trails for hikers and so clean. It is a stunning experience and such a lovely place, recommended for both hikers and those who are not. Train ride up there is around 40 minutes from Zermatt if you are planning to go all the way up, or a bit less if you are planning to hike a bit till the top station.

Phenomenal - very beautiful mountain surrounded by very beautiful landscapes and a great small cozy town, Zermatt🤩. I was there in July 2023 and it was amazing. We had lunch at the restaurant in Schwarzee which was also with a very good view of Matterhorn and the surroundings. I can truly recommend going here, for sure!

This is an awesome mountain. Really steep on the cable car (what do you expect people who have put too steep) and nice and cool from the warm temperatures below (as you'd expect being 4000m above sea level).

Beautiful mountain scenery and cute sheeps. On Matterhorn, the sheep season was already over in October. But we were lucky to find sheeps on the hills west of Zermatt :)

Probably the icon you could think about Switzerland! Spent 3 days in Zermatt, found it not too difficult to have a look towards the peak as the distance and altitude is not that far away. Rifflesee (Gornergrat area) gives the best view with a mirroring lake surface. The 5 lakes hike in Sunnegga is also spectacular. Both hikes are easy and almost all downhill if you hop off the cable cars from higher stations.

In my experience it was way better than Jungfrau. My family loved it. You can take the tram to the second to last stop and start walking down along the track for a beautiful view of the lake, the top of the mountain, the valley.

Very well restored castle in western Italy. Visit is by your only which seems to leave every half hour. Out guide did not speak English but tried nevertheless very hard to accommodate us, which was not an issue because there are good explanation signs at each stop. A very interesting historical site dating back to the 1200's.

Well preserved castle in a beautiful area in north italy (Aosta). Visiting is by guided tour only. The tour is in Italian, and you can rent audio translation aids. The tour takes about 40-45 minutes and walks through most main chambers of the castle. The art is well preserved. Recommended stop on your way to the Italian Alps.

A classic pentagonal fortress, with towers and walls, long abandoned and used by the locals as a warehouse until its restoration, commissioned by an architect on behalf of the State. The large fireplace in the center of the castle is beautifully designed taking into account the cold and the need to keep the interior warm. The visit lasts about an hour, guided only, with numerous insights into the history of the castle and small peculiarities of the past, such as the almost sitting position during the night's rest so as not to be mistaken for a deceased person or the small faces engraved on the towers to keep evil spirits away. Dogs allowed in a carrier. It is recommended to purchase one of the many tourist cards of the Aosta Valley to be able to visit all the sites and castles of the region.

Stunning from the outside. Pretty basic and repetitive on the inside. Rooms are not decorated, but display a loooot of wooden chests. Only visitable with Italian guide, every half hour. English audiotour available, which provides similar info as the panels in the rooms. You need to give them your id to get a audiotour.

Elegant castle from the 12th century and now owned and administered by the province of Aosta. It has been completely restored from being close to a ruin, including the many indoor and outside paintings depicting religious and noble figures. You cannot visit the castle on your own and have to wait till a guide becomes available which precludes too many people inside the premises at one time. There is a lot to be learnt about how nobles lived and traveled during past centuries including why three legged chairs were used to avoid tipping over on the uneven floor surfaces. It made me remember growing up on the tree legged chair "the ant" designed by the famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen in the 1950-s. So nothing is really new under the sun...

Interesting history. You must go inside only with a tour, no self guided tours. Amazing artwork frescoes.

A unique experience, the castle is located on a hill with breathtaking views. Inside, it still has items from its time.

Very good quality starters (cold cuts and cheeses) typical from Italy and Spain. We chose Pasta (very Well cooked) accompanied with an artisanal beer. Nice desserts and friendly staff. We loved it. Didn’t give 5 starts because the restaurant itself is not “wow”, just a simple cozy bottega. But food-wise definitely worth it!!

Had a wonderful lunch with the family today. I definitely recommend the cured meats and cheeses platters, as well as the tagliatelle with culatello and parmesan! But generally speaking we were satisfied with the food and wine. The location is cosy, especially the 'underground' area. Service is nice, and you can purchase most of the products you have enjoyed after eating (which we definitely have done!) - we will come back!

The food was amazing, we tried the cheese and ham plate, that was really good. Beyond that, we tasted the tagliatelle and the polenta that were excellent. But, unfortunately, our experienced was affected by one staff that didn’t treat us very welcoming when we tried to get a table in the restaurant.

Delicious lunch here, a cute little 7 seat restaurant with wonderful local dishes and an amazingly inexpensive wines by the glass list. I only wish we had more of an appetite so we could have tried some of the meats and cheeses they had in their shop, but the tagliolini with butter, parm and white truffles was perfect, and the polenta in the La Carbonade was one of the best I’ve had!

A little pricey and they won't serve you tap water : you have to buy an expensive bottle. Other than that, great food and nice staff!

Glacier 3000 is a great all-day destination! We had so much fun. We went for all the advertised activities. The toboggan was a great experience for adults and kids alike. Each of us had 2 runs. The ski lifts were great for views and a moment of tranquility. The peak walk was thrilling. But we actually found ourselves spending the most time on the non-advertised activities of sliding plastic tray sledges off a short slope, and just playing with snow and making snowman and stuff with our kids. It was the best day in our Geneva + western Switzerland trip.

Glacier 3000 was absolutely amazing! The views from the top are breathtaking, and the cable car ride itself is already an experience. Walking on the suspension bridge between the peaks was unforgettable. Everything was well organized and it’s definitely a must do in Switzerland. The only downside was the alpine coaster. At first I thought the staff was only strict with my kid, but after finishing the ride I realized the same lady was shouting at other visitors too, telling them to go faster. I understand it’s for safety and to keep things moving, but for first time riders it really felt too harsh.

We visited the gondola and glacier walk in mid-October, and it was a blast—even without skiing! The gondola ride offered stunning views, and the glacier walk was peaceful and awe-inspiring. A perfect way to enjoy the mountains in autumn. Highly recommended!

Worth the 2 hour trip from Geneva. Spectacular views and experience. Decent cafe and shop on site too. Always check website before going, as the sky bridge or the cable cars may be closed due to wind / weather. Can be combined with visit to Montreux.

For pedestrians is amazing experience but not for skiers. The lift systems are so bad. Beautiful but not practical. Lifts connections are too strange. Only pulling lifts at the top. Mixed with pedestrians and skiers make it slows and not efficient enough. Ending up waiting in the queue more than skiing.

Very glad we took the 2 trains and 2 buses to visit! The dinner coasters was, by far, our favorite - crank it wide open, no brakes and enjoy! Visited the snow and snapped a few photos but we didn't prepare hiking boots and even those with them were slipping. The peak walk was good.

Prices are a bit expensive, especially if you don’t have options to get a discount (like half fare tickets, hotel cards, etc.). One full journey round ticket included 3-4 activities including peak walk, chairlift, sledging, coaster (only during summer) and cable car. There are more activities available but for an extra price. You can rent some warm clothes at the souvenir shop, if required - you will have to pay for this separately. There are restaurants opened at the peak too. The views are beautiful. You need basic level of fitness to climb up a few stairs at such a high altitude (some people might face difficulty breathing - nothing too serious in my opinion though). Must try if you have some time and a bit more flexible budget.

Worth to see. In fact, as I could observe this funicular is not spectacular. It's just small and short ride really, but it's a must do in Fribourg. A bit of the history of the city as it connects the old town with the new. I also in another day climbed the stairs next to it, which is not that exhausting.The funicular itself is made of wood and is quite old, which makes it special for me. ****

The price is included in the day ticket. So we thought we should try it. It's travels very short distance. It's not spectacular but an ok experience. Anyways there is not many touristy thing to visit near fribourg city center, so it can be visited once.

Fantastic Medieval Castle For me this is one of the most fabulous castles in Switzerland with Chateau de Chillon or Vaduz (actually in Liechstenstein). The reason I really like it is the fact it is so well preserved you almost feel like you could be in the 13th century. The wood is still there which is quite unique. The whole feel is very grand. Bonus is that once you are here you can eat a great fondue in one of the local restaurants. Super worth it and recommended.

Enjoyed the visit to the castle very much, I happened to visit during medieval festival which was wonderful. Spent a couple of hours there. Lovely gardens as well. A great day's outing. I recommend going early morning to avoid crowds.

A nice small castle in Gruyère. You will learn how it changes over time as it was owned by a local count to the a rich artist family and lastly as a museum. The castle is interesting since it has also been used as a personal residence of artist family so there are a few rooms that looks like 19th century European home. You can also see beautiful scenery of surrounding village from the castle and also takes picture of beautiful garden. Two negative things that can be improved are: 1) There is a large signboard in the courtyard for ad. 2) There are some modern art installations that feel out of place within the castle (not dedicated space). Both break the immersion. Recommended to visit. 👍 Tips: You can buy join ticket with Maison du Gruyère or Giger Museum or Tibetan Museum.

This is a beautiful small town nestled in the swiss Alps. There are lots of shops and 3 cool museums to visit as well as a castle. The food was great but like in all the other reviews it's expensive. So if you want to eat cheep stop at the grocery store or McDonald's before heading up to the town.

Although we did not go inside, we enjoyed very much walking through the lovely town of Gruyeres all the way up to the castle and admired the beautiful view.

Although growing up in Switzerland, I had never visited Château de Gruyères before and hadn't even been aware of its existence. But I came across it online when planning my most recent visit to the country, and I'm glad I did, because it's an absolute gem and shouldn't be missed by anyone in the area! Unlike many other castles, it's well furnished, so lots of things to look at inside. Especially the tapestries I found sensational. There are also extensive exhibits that tell the story of Swiss tourism, which I found fascinating. Wondering around the castle was a real eye-opener, feeling like a true step back in time, interesting and educational. One thing to slightly criticise: The official Website is very slow, which can be a bit frustrating. Just wondering whether it's running on a slow server, which might benefit from an upgrade. I noticed this when planning the trip and just checked again now, encountering the same problem.

You can combo the castle ticket with the gruyere factory down below. Nice castle with perfect views up and down the valley. Three levels are open with a descent amount of artifacts. The fireplaces are something to pay attention to.

Great experience! The food was traditional Swiss fondue. It was served with bread and potatoes that made a perfect pairing. If you dont like cheese this is definitely not the place for you. While the cheese is very good it can become a bit of a heavy meal. Next to the restaurant you could see where they keep all the cheese. This was such a cool thing to see. The gift shop was great too! They had lots of Swiss chocolate, cheese and kitchen tools.

The tour was very much shorter than expected. although very informational, and quite entertaining, I felt it went by too quickly. They gave us cheese to try before we started our tour, and boy was it delicious. We are glad we did it, and would recommend it to anyone! The cheese will not disappoint

Wonderful museum that I enjoyed more than anticipated! The metal canisters contain the different elements that cows eat and you can smell them! The aromas range from flowers, to grass, to herbs... Amazing! After smelling them I was able to identify a few in the samples of cheese given on entry!

Great museum with beautiful grounds and park. We visited the museum for the special exhibit, from Renoir to Van Gogh. The exhibit was very interesting with many unique paintings. The regular exhibits of antique cars was very educational. The collection of photos of Giannadda definitely worth visiting.

The Tintin exhibition was incredible! The cars were a welcome surprise The employees are very friendly and a student ticket only costs 12 chf. Lovely museum shop. The coffee shop was gorgeoooouuus though I didnt have time for it

Unique venue, worth a visit. The TinTin collection was interesting. The vintage car collection was ok. Temporary exhibit of Armand Hammer collection probably presented not the best works of Vincent Van Gogh.

It is a luxurious collection of old cars and paintings. Unfortunately, all of the exhibitions and annotations are only in French.

Very nice museum, small but cute. There is an exhibition that changes time to time, and two areas dedicated to the main characters of the museum. There is also one area with the cars of the beginning of 20th century. There are 2 cafeterias, one indoor, very cute (like a step back in time), and one outside in the garden, where it is really pleasant to sit and enjoy the park and the weather. The park is also interesting, with pieces of art of various artists placed here and there. Suggested.

The museum is not big, but has such an eclectic variety of collections that's its a very entertaining way to pass an hour - no matter what you're interested in. There's a potted collection of roman artifacts, early cars, contemporary sculpture and decorative arts. The Cafe in the sculpture garden is a great place for a leisurely aperitif or on a sunny day. The history of Roman Martigny is well explained in French and German, but most other signage is in French only.

I took a friend there to see the vintage car collection and we were happy with the visit except for the very rude staff member called Martine. I was telling my friend about how Anker used red in most of his paintings as told during my previous guided tour. Martine then said very loudly about me being too close to the painting which is impossible because of the barrier. They can easily get their surveillance cameras to see that I was no where near paintings. She then said very loudly in French to another customer that 'some people don't understand anything ' in French, referring to me. Now that I can no longer find my previous review also about her rudeness, I guess she remembers me. My friend's first thought was her being racist, but I sincerely hope not. It was such a shame that how a rude staff member can totally spoil an almost perfect experience. Honestly, she should not be working there.

Well maintained castle, modestly furnished, with a collection of interesting frescoes and murals. Strategically built on a small island, it used both the Lake Geneva and a moat created between the island and the mainland for defense. Our group had arrived in the late afternoon just in time to enjoy free wine tasting of some local wines, then proceeded to explore the medieval halls and underground chambers. The view from some rooms onto the lake and the Alps is stunning. It is the most visited monument in Switzerland.

This lakeside Castle with breathtaking view was stunning, pictures didn't do it justice. Its magical setting made it one of Switzerland’s most enchanting landmarks. I fully enjoyed my visit, highly recommend.

Château de Chillon is actually really big to explore, especially with the guided map they provide you. I was so tired, a lot of exploring new rooms that never seem like it would end. If you didn’t know, this castle inspired Prince Eric’s in The Little Mermaid. You can hear tons of water sounds by the prison area. It was relative peaceful for me as there weren’t much crowds and kids, so sometimes I got to explore rooms alone.

Beautiful castle (Little Mermaid was inspired on it) with lots of history. I really recommend taking the audio guide which is super complete. It lets you wonder alone around the castle which is a magical experience. The castle is in great conservation, and the dungeons are particularly beautiful. Would recommend this visit if you’re around. You can buy tickets directly upon arrival, and the audio guide takes like 2h to complete

The best view I’ve had from any castle I’ve visited so far. The castle is beautifully preserved, with authentic medieval furnishings that clearly took great effort to maintain. It’s generously open to the public, with access to nearly every corner—even up the creaky wooden staircases, which add to the sense of stepping back in time. Free entry for Swiss pass holders. Two hours or longer is needed.

Fascinating experience. We spent several hours wandering through the castle. The careful preservation of this site allows an understanding of history, with excellent access to all areas both indoors and outdoors and detailed information boards throughout. It is also a lovely lakeside walk from Montreux (after ferry from Lausanne) and a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating is opposite. A truly wonderful morning.

We arrived from Milan Sept 6, 2025 just in time for the 3 days Freddie Mercury birthday celebration. I enjoyed the celebration right there in Lake Leman so happy to celebrate 🥳 his birthday and experience where he once stood. The museum dedicated to Queen is just 200 meters from his statue.

Enjoyed the walk around Lake Geneva, admiring the many statues, small or lifesize. The iconic one of Freddie Mercury was like icing on a cake. However I do wish someone would clean up the statue once in a while, there is just too much junk hanging on him and around him as gifts from well meaning fans.

When in Rome...er, Montreux. Worth a visit for a photo or two if you've got the time. And there's a gelateria just a block away! Hang out on/near the lake right there at the coolest public bench circle ever made, then take a stroll along the lake - preferably near sunset.

As a lifetime fan of Freddie, I took a 4 hour detour, just to go and pay respect to the greatest singer and entertainer if all time. He has a beautiful spot with a great view of the lake. I'm sure he would have loved it.

The great representation of a Titan of music. A little hard to get a great photo as they were doing some construction around the area. At one point, he even had a do not cross tape wrapped around 1 foot as they made a fence to do some work on the viewing platform for the lake. I did manage to get one or two good shots. If you can get a picture of him from the side with the mountains and the lake on a nice day it is very breathtaking in a view. I’m sure he appreciated when he was in town to record music.

A breathtaking journey to the highest peak in the Alps on the Italian-French border Starting from the Italian city Courmayeur, a charming town 1,300 meters above sea level, I began my ascent via the Skyway Monte Bianco. I purchased a round-trip ticket for €63.5 at the main station. Punta Helbronner (3,467 m): The final destination was magical. The temperature dropped to around 1.8°C with a light wind, making it refreshingly crisp. From here, a 92-meter below a tunnel leads to a ski station and an open-air restaurant. I made my way to the top terrace—what a view! Standing above the clouds with 360° views of the Alps was an indescribably beautiful and humbling experience. Breathtaking panoramic views of the highest mountain in Europe. Even though I was there at a pretty cloudy day, view was just one of its kind. I was disappointed that the triple cable car was open only one way to France, and nobody could return (because of different regulations).

Wonderful day trip in summer up this mountain via cable car. Don't miss the Refugio and the area covered in snow beside the Refugio.

Stunning views of mountain peaks, an entire glass wall dedicated to local gemstones alongside a view of Mont Blanc and a lovely little cafe where you can sip quality coffee while you admire the peaks! Even though during my visit there were quite a few clouds, the various platforms and views from this height were spectacular. It does get cold at the top observation deck (since you are standing around) so I would recommend an ultralight down! To get around the observation decks (external) you do need to do some stairs, but the building (internal) itself with the cafe and viewing areas is fully accessible! From this point, you could pay for the additional trip on the Mont Blanc Panoramic cable car that takes you over to Aiguille du Midi! I would also recommend going early- so you get fewer clouds and crowds!

Just out of this world experience. The views are absolutely stunning. The facilities are amazing considering the height. Multiple decks for panoramic views. Do keep in mind that the oxygen level will be low and some might feel a bit dizzy. Once in a life time experience,

Your amazing ride starts in the center of chamonix, there you will take the most thrilling cable car ride if you life. With the best views, grass that turns u to snow, and trees that turn into massive cliffs. Aguille du midi is a must for everyone. The views at the top are truly out of this world and make you seem so small. Would recommend to everyone visiting chamonix. Give out of five stars

Absolutely astonishing views from the top. A must visit location in Chamonix!! It's pricey but worth each cent. Turnaround ticket for adult is 95€. Check the webcam before to make sure that it is sunny on the top as the weather differs alot and clouds in the valley do not mean clouds on top.

The cable bus from the Chamonix city with a change over in between takes you to the peak of Aiguille du Midi. This peak is exactly in the border of France and Italy. A 20 minutes journey of ten each takes you to the peak. To see the mont blanc, you have to take a pass like temporary visa to the italian side and from the peak to which a lift is taking you, you can see the mont blanc. There is also a glass cage with dead drop bottom. The view from the top is magnificient. It takes you to the view of entire iced surroundings. The mont blanc is the highest peak of Alps. More famous for limited edition pen. They are allowing a total of 2 and half hours to see and come back. On a sunny day, the views are beautiful. The climate is sometimes minus in the peak

The online capacity viewer was a little out of date and we had to wait to get in. Once in, lockers require either a 1 or 2 euro coin which is returned. The changing room is mixed gender with individual booths that are double sided, so you are fighting against people getting out of the pool to use one as well as other people wanting to get in. The pool itself is just a pool with a few jacuzzi like areas, a lazy river and a half pipe style slide. There is also a kiddy area, although I didn't use this. My over arching feeling was that it didn't measure up to its own hype. The pool's one redeeming feature is that they do not enforce the ridiculous French pool rule about men only being allowed to wear the skimpiest of swimsuits!

A great place to spend a few hours. It was warm and clean in the changing rooms with lots of locker space and the complex wasn’t too busy for the first couple of hours of our visit and got busier as the afternoon went on. The water temp inside on a cold day in the main pool was slightly chilly so it’s worth having a towel but a perfect temp in the outside jacuzzi and splash park sections. We drove up from Saint Gervais as day guests on a cold wet day during the Easter holidays and it was the ideal rainy day activity for about 3 hours as we drove up out of the rain into snow and winter wonderland. The half pipe is really fun and the lazy river is great. If there was a big slide or two as well this place would be absolutely perfect. My kids are 8 & 10 and enjoyed trying to crack the climbing wall. When you could get space in the outside jacuzzi that was also a highlight as it began to snow. I would say it’s perfectly suited for toddlers and small kids and a fun activity for a family outing with older kids for an afternoon.

It’s colder than you would like it to be. There are no towels as well, and no private showers, so if you hve something planned for after, allow time to go home first. For 12 euros, walk in (they don’t take bookings) and unlimited time inside, it’s fair, the slide is good fun, there’s a long wait but it’s an extra I wasn’t expecting for. I probably won’t be back, manly cause the temperature is too cold to be enjoyable. It said 31° but I doubt (just saw other reviews complaining about the same)

A nice break from skiing, this pool is perfect for going when the weather is too bad to ski. Some lazy river routes, pools to swim and fun for the kids. There's even an outside jacuzzi. Can be quite busy, the only downside was children throwing snow at each other and splashing in the outside pool with no life guard or parents to tell them to stop - this was quite off-putting so I'm only rating it 4*. Changing rooms ok, a bit small cubicle sizes. Overall ok, it's the only water park pool in the area so I can't be picky.

Great value in the summer when quiet. Almost limitless goes on the u bend slide. Clean, warm and with good water jets.

What an amazing experience if you are feeling stiff and need some tlc pop in the pool and the jet hose help the tiered legs out a treat and the water halfpipe is good fun for all ages highly recommend an afternoon chilling in there

Avoriaz is, without a doubt, the best ski resort we’ve ever been to — and that’s saying a lot after more than 30 years of skiing! Everything is designed for maximum comfort, with ski-in/ski-out access from almost everywhere. The resort is fully pedestrian, which makes getting around incredibly easy and safe. The staff is genuinely kind and helpful, and to our surprise, we haven’t had to queue at all for the chairlifts — even during busy hours. And the snow? Absolutely amazing, even at the very end of the season. We’ll definitely be coming back — and recommending Avoriaz to everyone we know!

This beautiful ski resort is very active in the summer with plenty for the family to stay active. Whether mountain biking, hiking giant games of checkers, chess and tennis plus trampoline. The aquatic center is an excellent family swim . The beautiful French Alps surrounding the town

Great skiing resort. We went over new year so was a bit busy but also great New Years Eve celebrations and midnight fireworks were amazing. All staff we talked to ( in hotel, restaurants, shops etc ) were lovely and friendly. Would recommend for 1st time skiers , families or someone who likes ski fun parks too

Love Avoriaz. It’s like home - a nice friendly place. Resort is great, slopes are fantastic. Its can get overcrowded at vacation time and some places are overpriced but overall its a great place for a skiing holiday. No cars in the resort, only horse-drawn carriages which gives it a special atmosphere, along with the wood-covered buildings which blend into the countryside.

What a lovely ski resort in French Alps. Beautiful place with no cars alowed. By winter, there is a taxi from centre, horse pulled sleigh. They give you a blanket to cover legs, so you could not catch a cold 🙃 I will come back in summer, to see again this paradise!

Lovely and wintery with snow all around in this high altitude snow sure resort. Cars aren't allowed in the town so it's safe to walk around too. A bit artificial in feel though compared with nearby more traditional resorts, partly due to its newness, so this may make it feel less homely and welcoming in the summer. Wonderful in the winter though. Great skiing too.

Truly memorable place, great people (one or two not so good!) totally ski in/ ski out place scenery to die for and something for everyone from the beginners to the more experienced skiers. Bars and restaurants great apart from a certain Italian! Booking our return trip!

Nice ride up to just above the Bionnasay Glacier. The website sucks bigtime but don't let that withhold you from a beautiful day in the mountainbike.

Nice mountain and train but the staff insisted on all non climbers into one carriage so that we had to stand even though the other carriage had loads of space. They actually stopped us getting on the carriage with plenty of space

Worth the trip!! Great hiking at the upper stations.

Took this trip to explore more of the Mont Blanc range and wasn't disappointed. Incredible journey up the side of the mountains, sharing the trip with mountaineers who were off to the summit. Good choice of walks from the top - clothing for cooler weather & good footwear essential.

Dinner with team after congres day. 2 had filets de perche this fish filets were baked with a tartare sauce nothing to have a waw feeling. 1 penne ciocarna ( see picture) also no real wow effect missong of spices and 1 spaghetti fruits de mer seems was ok. white swiss wine could be better. Really good pizza, I recommend the « jet d’eau pizza » Only bad fact is that the crust was too thin.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating despite a language barrier. I was even given a free salad! Food was some of the best me and my friends have ever had and is well priced. The restaurant atmosphere was incredible as well. We all agreed we would absolutely eat here again 👍

I am travelling for work. Great food and even better people. Seems like a family owned business. I had the pugliese pizza and was amazing. But hey!! Be careful with the spicy oil they offer 🥵very hot

The food was delicious and the waiters really helpful to translate to English for us. They even had a English menu. The place was warm and the pizza oven in the heart of the restaurant. It felt like an authentic Italian family business.

Impressive cathedral in the old town area with lots of period buildings around it. On a bit of a raised area but an easy walk up. Quiet, peaceful, can sit for as long as one likes. Free to enter, as it should be, but is not in some places. Different parts obviously built/added/repaired/rebuilt at different times, which is always interesting. Well worth a visit.

Undoubtedly, this is a majestic cathedral in the heart of Geneva, with stunning Gothic architecture and a historic stone façade. The church is very well preserved, and from its current state, you can almost imagine the grandeur it must have had 1,000 years ago. Inside, the serene atmosphere, detailed sculptures, and beautiful architectural features make it a remarkable place to explore. A must-visit for anyone interested in history or architecture.

Visiting St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva was truly memorable. One of the highlights for me was climbing the 160 steps to the top of the tower. The stairwell is narrow and may be a little intimidating for some, but the effort is completely worth it. Once at the top, you’re rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Geneva and the surrounding area—perfect for photography enthusiasts. The cathedral also has a small shop where you can browse a selection of cards and postcards as a memento of your visit. Inside and out, the cathedral offers plenty of opportunities for taking beautiful photos, from its impressive architecture to the breathtaking vistas from the tower. Despite the slightly nerve-wracking climb, it’s an experience I’d highly recommend.

This cathedral is a highlight located in the center of Geneva's old town. The top offers a great view over the city and the lake. I recommend combining a visit with a walk to the beautiful nearby square "Place-Du-Bourg-de-Four" (my favourite place in old town). Take a break there for a snack and a drink. Enjoy!

I always try to visit at least one church during my travels, though sometimes it doesn’t work out. I’m so glad I made it to this cathedral—it was actually one of the reasons I wanted to visit Geneva in the first place. I’d heard about the 157-step spiral staircase, and let’s just say I realized how out of shape I was while climbing it! But I made it, and it was absolutely worth it. Such a beautiful piece of history to experience. The fee to go up is currently at 7chp.

Excellent 360° views of the city, lake & mountains. The stairs were in a very good condition compared to other church towers in Europe. The entrance price was included in our tourist city pass so it's a very much worthwhile visit.

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.

I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

I took a day trip from Lyon, a great place, I'm sorry I only stayed one day, it's definitely worth 2-3 days! A place not to be missed if you're in the area!

It is a MUST to go, partying, water scakating, swimming and lots of boat cruises around the great lake surrounded by magnificent mountains. 30 min away and your up amongst snowy mountains as early as September.

Absolutely breathtaking! The lake is crystal clear and surrounded by stunning mountains. Perfect for swimming, cycling, and relaxing. Annecy is truly a gem — Can’t wait to return

Very beautiful monastery with a rich history, unsurprising given how old Europe is. And this one has been well maintained, even hosting music and arts shows outside of just the walk around tour of the monastery itself. Obvious ongoing upkeep and restoration work is happening which is great given that this monastery is close to 500 years old. Doesn't look a day over 300. 🤪

A beautiful historical place where to spend a pleasant and interesting couple of hours. The architecture is impressive, the place is big and there is plenty of things to see: the church, the various rooms, the ancient tools used for the building, some historical facts etc... there was also a room with an art exhibition. Spent a wonderful afternoon there!

This place is breathtaking. The outside is beautiful and the inside is just amazing. Definitely worth the price of admission. Plan to allow yourself at least a few hours to enjoy and take in all the art, artifacts, and architecture this place has to offer.

Well maintained monastery and church with a very interesting history. The church hosts the graves of Philibert II., his mother and his wife Margaret of Austria, which are great pieces of art from Flamish sculpturers.

Stunning cathedral with a very unique roof displaying the colours of the Duchess of Burgundy built between 1506 and 1532. The monastery is behind the church.

Not suitable for everyone who has already seen the bigger brother in Hamburg. Absolutely no comparison: Mini World lacks details, originality and quality: no weathering, even 300 yr old buildings look like newly constructed, some walls have even been cut out of printed paper. The cars are mostly 1:1 bought and often misplaced. There is hardly any motion: nearly no car moves, maybe 2 or 3 trains are in motion. Weird arrangements of things (see photos): lego buildings, bought toy robots etc. A lot is not working: trains stand still, half of the button functions is not working or so unspectacular that you don’t realize it. Light flashes where it shouldn‘t. At night all lights are either on or off, no realistic gradual light changes. Only plus was the newly added Jurassic Park model which was built with a bit more love. We absolutely loved this! Two adults and a kid, the kid was running around trying to find little Mr Men whilst we were entranced looking for the film, TV and popular culture references. I could have spent hours there, I was captivated by it all, genuinely a brilliant excursion and something we'll do again the next time we return to Lyon

Always amazing, both temporary and permanent exhibits. Annual pass with kids ages 4 and 6 and we go every few months and they love it more each time!

Absolutely amazing place. Suitable for kids from 7 to 90 Take the "backstage" tour. You will never see these type of thing with the same eyes.

I came here because it was included in the Lyon City Card and I enjoyed my time here (even though it seems like it’s more for kids). They have a lot of displays with miniature dolls and scenes. They even give you a booklet to try to find all the popular ones like Marilyn Monroe, Aliens, Mary Poppins, Harry Potter, Nemo, Jurassic Park, etc. I wouldn’t come here again alone (as an adult), but I would definitely come here with kids and easily spend 2h: trying to find all the characters. It also wasn't crowded when I came during the weekend.

One if the few things that a whole family can enjoy. It is made really nice with a lot of small details. I really recommend!

Myself and my kids loved this small, quirky museum. You could easily spend a long time here because there are so many details to explore. The creators of the mini worlds have a brilliant and bonkers sense of humour - some of the scenes are hilarious with random penguins, dinosaurs and monkeys scattered around, and people in compromising situations. An added bonus is the 3d cinema showing 2 short films. Free entry with the Leon City Card. Also very quiet - probably because it's a bit out of the city centre.
