The layout features two main shrines side by side—one for “Hoysaleswara” (King) and the other for “Shantaleswara” (Queen)—both containing Shiva lingas and sharing a large open hall (navaranga) for gatherings. The temple is carved from soft soapstone, enabling extremely intricate work. There are more than 340 large reliefs and numerous smaller panels, primarily illustrating stories from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavata Purana, as well as scenes from daily life, music, and dance. Each wall, panel, and even pillar is intricately detailed — often compared to “poetry in stone.” Outer walls covered with continuous sculptural bands (friezes) arranged in horizontal tiers. Lathe-turned pillars — perfectly polished, symmetric, and reflective. Ceilings decorated with intricate floral and geometric motifs. Sanctums house Shiva Lingas, each fronted by a large Nandi (bull) pavilion. Difficult to narrate in words (See Pics) 😎 There’s a museum which houses many other sculptures, inscriptions also inside the premises. There’s a nicely maintained garden area to spend sometime after immersing in the beauty of the place. Some area that can be improved are - The road leading to temple from NH/SH can have proper sign boards and roads and traffic can be managed better. Parking lot can be maintained better. Drinking water taps doesn’t work properly.

This temple is huge so do not rush and give good time to soak in its beauty. The huge nandis are absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of parking available outside the temple.

It was a truly mesmerising day when I decided to visit the ISKCON temple over the weekend. As I approached the temple, I could feel the spiritual energy enveloping the atmosphere, despite the crowd of devotees that had gathered. The intricate architecture of the white temple stood out beautifully against the blue sky, and the sounds of chanting filled the air, creating a serene yet lively ambience. Inside, the aroma of fresh flowers and incense wafted through the halls, enhancing the sacred experience. People of all ages were engaged in prayer and meditation, their faces reflecting a deep sense of peace and devotion. I found solace in the rhythmic chants and the uplifting energy that pervaded the space. Nice place to worship Lord Krishna. Very well connected with metro and Bengaluru buses. In temple, darshan facilities, food & water facilities are good. Overall very good arrangements,cleanliness and nice experience. Only thing is no special feeling. It's like visiting any other temple. If you're driving a four wheeler then parking charges of 40 rupees collected. You shall easily spend an hour or three including the shopping of artifacts and other devotional items inside the temple premises. Multiple vaishnavaite deities are present here. Everything is maintained near and clean. An artificial waterfall and a lake add more charm to this place. This place is getting upgraded with more infrastructure as the construction is going on as well.

A Calming Green Oasis in Bengaluru Lalbagh Botanical Garden offers a decent escape from the city hustle. I had an "OK" experience, largely thanks to the wonderfully calm and fresh environment. If you're looking for a spot with natural bird sounds to truly cool down and relax your mind, this place is highly recommended. It's a true "lung space" for Bengaluru. A major plus was the e-cycle ride, which is a fantastic way to cover the vast garden expanse. The rental seemed to have a flexible pricing, as I saw options for a short ride. I did a ride. We also caught the artificial waterfall near the lake, which operates on a fixed schedule. We saw it running from 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM. It adds a nice, serene touch to the lake area when it's on. My one major feeling was a slight lack of a "zoo" or large animal presence (apart from birds), which I missed—it felt more like a purely botanical experience rather than a nature park with diverse wildlife. However, for a botanical garden, all the basic amenities and facilities are well-maintained. Conclusion ; If you are in Bengaluru, it's definitely worth a visit for a peaceful, nature-filled break and a lovely walk or cycle ride.

It was a beautiful experience. The day was 🌞 I went with my family to explore the beauty of this huge botanical garden that has flora species dating back to hundreds of years ago. Enchanting. ❤️😇 We took the ride for 45 mins which is charged ₹100 per person. The guide thoroughly took us to different locations of the botanical garden taking small stops at specific points. Overall it was a nice experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the place. Recommended to family and friends. ✨

One of the prettiest garden I have ever visited. So beautiful, peaceful and huge. Our first option was Cubbon Park due to its ratings but when I visited this instead, I was glad. It's really beautiful! The way everything is maintained there is very pleasant. The whole area around this park is so cool due to the trees in the garden. We had a wonderful experience at Dubare Jungle Lodges! The place is truly beautiful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a family or friends outing. The food served was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. One of the highlights was bathing and feeding the elephants – such a unique and memorable experience! The staff deserve a special mention – they are extremely sweet, caring, and make you feel very comfortable. On the night of our stay, we were the only family there, and though we felt a bit scared at first, the staff were so friendly and reassuring that we soon felt completely at ease. Officer Ram was very helpful throughout our stay, and Nagaraj, who guided us on the safari and nature walk, was polite, patient and courteous Overall, we had the best day at Dubare Jungle Lodges and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in nature

Stayed at JLR Dubare on 12th October 2025 Open but safe parking. Rooms are comfortable and well-maintained. Food options are limited but sufficient. The safari is good for beginners — great to enjoy the forest landscape and trees, but not ideal if your expectation is to spot tigers or elephants. The Dubare Elephant Camp is the real highlight — a wonderful experience to interact with elephants up close: bathing, feeding, and learning about them. Special thanks to Mr. Girish, an excellent naturalist, who ensures you have a meaningful and memorable time with the elephants. A must-visit for elephant lovers!

We had a wonderful stay at Jungle Lodges .. Dubare Elephant Camp. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained, offering a peaceful stay close to nature. A special mention to the naturalist who guided us during the elephant interaction session..he was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything so patiently. We truly enjoyed learning so much about these gentle giants. The food was the highlight of our stay. Every dish they served felt homely, fresh, and full of flavor. It’s rare to find such simple yet delicious food, and we genuinely looked forward to every meal. Yes, the stay is a little on the expensive side, but the experience, hospitality, and quality make it worth every penny. Overall, a memorable and refreshing getaway. We had a wonderful experience at the Dubare Elephant Camp Jungle Lodge. The hospitality was truly the best—every staff member was incredibly generous, friendly, and always ready to help. The food was delicious with great variety, and the rooms were spotless and well-maintained, making our stay very comfortable. The highlights of our trip were the elephant bathing and feeding sessions, which were absolutely amazing and memorable. Watching the elephants up close and getting to interact with them was a beautiful experience. Overall, the time and money we spent were completely worth it. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway with exceptional service!

Rooms were spacious. We booked the River View cottage and the view was indeed beautiful. The food was homely and all the service personnel were extremely helpful. The elephant interaction and elephant feeding activities were great! The safari was not worthwhile but that might have been our bad luck.

We only stayed for a day, but wow, what a great spot! The backwater scenery is stunning. We had such a fantastic time—the music was awesome, and Prashanth, you have a killer voice! Seriously, the food is delicious too. Definitely recommend it!

If you want an entire private jungle experience, head to JLR - Dubare. The resort is completely cut off from the rest of the crowd. To start with, you can park you vehicle on the banks of the Cauvery, and take a private boat to the resort. There you will be greeted by the helpful staff who will brief you about you stay. The itinerary includes 3 meals , tea/coffee, snacks apart from the nature walks and jungle safari. If you are luck you will spot some creatures during the safari. The staff is courteous and polite. During the rains, beware of leeches abd make sure to wear closed footwear. The resort's room are made with bamboo furniture and there is damp smell to it. If you dislike this, visit in the summers, but Cauvery might run dry then. The main attraction is the fully private elephant interaction experience. You can bathe and feed these gentle giants and click a million pictures with them. A must do, if you have kids.

One of the best amusement parks in the country. Some rides are really high on thrill and adrenaline rush, especially their roller coaster- recoil, the twister, maverik etc. You must not miss the newly added adventure ride- Interstellar which is an experience in itself. The giant wheel at the 13th floor gives the best view of the park and the city. The waterpark isn’t great but has some good water slides and rides you can try. For extra fun you can try the rain dance shows, & especially the wave pool with the dj is so much fun. The best part is they hae made a division in the pool with 2 sides, one for family, couple, women; and other for only men. The crew keeps a check that everyone follows the rules properly and behaves. Some things to keep in mind. Some rides can have queues in rush time, but its doable; as the fastrack tickets are double the cost and not worth it as you can still do all rides without it, just make sure you reach before noon and are there till atleast 6pm. Noone specifically checked the costume for waterpark, but carry appropriate material clothes to enjoy the most, or you’ll have t o buy them at 350 bucks. The locker costs 350 rs, with an additional 50 bucks of the magnetic key watch band. There are multiple food joints and options to eat from. You’ll also find souvenir shops. Wait till post the sunset to see the beauty of the park in lights. You can take certain buses plying to and back from the park to city. Overall its a great experience and a must go to atleast once if you are adventurous soul.

Check offers before Booking! This place is really good for a day outing, don't start from the first ride, watch YouTube videos to see which one you don't wanna miss and be in queue for those in the start. First of all reach the place by 10 am to be aware of what to do, and how to go ahead. Normal queue Wait time is 30-70 minutes on each ride after 11:30. So decide wisely don't waste your time on not so worthy rides. We included three meals, it was a good decision so we didn't waste time deciding, what to eat. My recommendations at least include noon meal, so you can enjoy it and during the evening it will be your wish for what you wanna eat after rides. Take the longest hours, it's hardly the matter of 100-200/- rs but then after dinner also you may be able to do some fun rides if not water rides. Take the locker in advance or one of you may end up just looking after your stuff. Wear water rides approved clothing from the start , so you don't waste time changing clothes again and again. Wear rubber slippers/ crocs, it's easy for you to move around.

I recently went to Wonderla Bengaluru, and honestly, it was an amazing experience! One of the best amusement parks I’ve ever been to. The place is super clean, well maintained, and packed with rides that’ll give you both adrenaline rush and pure fun. The new Mission Interstellar ride totally blew my mind! It’s India’s first space themed ride and the huge screen makes you feel like you’re actually floating in space definitely a must-try. Apart from that, the high thrill rides like Recoil were just insane. The water park section was also great the slides, the wave pool, the lazy river everything was just perfect for cooling off and chilling. The staff were polite and helpful throughout the day, and the locker and changing facilities were neat and clean. I also liked the food options inside decent variety and not too overpriced, which was nice. Overall, I had an absolute blast here! Coming to **food**, the options are good and available at **reasonable prices**. Just one suggestion — avoid eating and then going for active water rides immediately, as it might cause a bit of discomfort. This was my 3rd visit but first time with family and kids. Beautiful park, everyone should visit for fun. Weather was supportive so you could enjoy water games. There's new addition to the park - Mission Interstellar. It was mind blowing. Never experienced before. For all games there's 25% of people with Fast track priority passes are sent in. With Halloween passes, all land games can be played even between 7 pm to 10 pm while games for regular passes are closed by 6 pm. Park timings on weekends is 11 am to 7 pm. Everything is fine except Food. Its totally SCAM. If you buy buffet online vs offline, the prices are different. If you buy Buffet lunch at entrance is 419 while online and inside its 500+. Any food like Fried rice or Noodles with non/veg manchurian and large coke combination is 410/- when you can buy Buffet for same price. The quality of food is pathetic. After spending good time, we felt disappointed with food quality with menu options and with exorbitant prices. I have provided same feedback to ground staff to improve food. Hence reduced the overall ratings.

A Great Day Out, But With Key Areas for Improvement ​Bannerghatta Biological Park offers a genuinely wonderful experience for wildlife lovers, making it a fantastic destination for a day trip. The park is vast, and many of the naturalized habitats for the local species are impressive and well-maintained. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, contributing to an overall positive atmosphere. ​However, a couple of significant issues prevented me from rating this as a perfect five-star experience. ​Firstly, I was disappointed that some of the highly anticipated major animals, notably the Lion and the Orangutan, were either absent or could not be found in their areas during our visit. This was a notable letdown for key species that many visitors hope to see. ​More importantly, I observed certain welfare concerns that I hope the park management addresses. Several animals appeared to be kept alone or with a very limited number of mates, which seemed sparse given their social nature. In a few cases, the enclosures seemed smaller than ideal, and I witnessed some animals exhibiting repetitive, stereotypic behaviors (pacing back and forth). This gave the distinct impression that they might be bored, stressed, or depressed due to the lack of space or social stimulation. Ensuring that all animals have adequate companionship and spacious, enriching enclosures is crucial for a park of this stature. ​Despite these issues, the overall variety of species and the natural beauty of the environment are undeniable. If the park could improve its exhibit list consistency and significantly upgrade the size and social conditions of the enclosures I mentioned, it would easily earn five stars.

Last week, I visited the Biological Zoo with my family. It was a very exciting and memorable trip. We saw many animals like lions, tigers, elephants, deer, giraffes and colorful birds. The best part of our visit was the safari. It was really thrilling to see the wild animals moving freely in the open area. We saw lions and tigers very closely from the safari bus and it felt like a real jungle adventure. The zoo was clean and well maintained. The staff guided us properly and we enjoyed taking many photos and videos together. It was a fun and educational experience for the whole family. I would love to visit again, especially for the safari ride.

It was amazing experience we went in the noon at 2:30pm for safari and it was so lively experience and kid will really enjoy this. The safari takes 45min and its amazing experience and the zoo inside there are many caged animals snakes as well. Well maintained and hygienic. Be aware there are mosquitoes be cautioned while takings kids mainly

HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting this biological park you’ve probably never seen so many animals in one place. The Bannerghatta Biological Park trail is about 2.2 km and takes at least 3 hours to complete. After that spend around 45 minutes at the Butterfly Park. It’s absolutely worth it with family or friends. There’s also a safari option though I didn’t opt for it you can check other reviews for that.

I recently visited Bannerghatta National Park, and honestly, it felt a bit overhyped. From the photos and reviews, I expected a proper wildlife experience, but in reality, it was more like an average zoo with a bus ride added in. We booked the safari bus since jeeps weren’t available, and that was fine — but the safari itself was quite disappointing. The entire 20–30 minute ride had barely 4–5 types of animals — deer, elephants, leopards, lions, and a small bear. It didn’t feel like we were in a natural habitat at all. The zones were just large fenced areas with a few animals each. For example, you start with deer and elephants, then after passing a gate you reach the leopard zone, where maybe 3–4 leopards can be seen resting near shelters. Same goes for lions and bears. It honestly felt like a zoo with a bus tour instead of walking. After the safari, we went to the zoo area, which was okay but again nothing great. There were only one or two animals of each species — a single giraffe, one tiger, one lion, etc. Variety was there, but it didn’t feel lively or well-maintained. The butterfly park was the best part of the entire visit. The entry fee was ₹50 per person, and it was worth it. The dome area filled with butterflies and greenery looked beautiful and peaceful — definitely the highlight of the day. Overall, Bannerghatta National Park is good for a one-time visit or a short family outing near Bangalore, but if you’re expecting a real safari or wildlife experience, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Absolutely stunning palace, it's majestic looks is a pleasure to watch from a distance and at when it's lit up in the evening, it takes you into fairy land kind of feeling. Inside also is very royal in its looks, a room is dedicated to Raja Ravi Verma's paintings, other rooms and people's court and VIP court are just magnificent.

Once inside, you can enjoy the beautiful architecture, vibrant interiors, and royal design. However, if you’re expecting a full heritage display, it might feel limited — many rooms are closed, and there aren’t many antique items on show. Facilities such as toilets and small shops are available inside the premises. If you’re visiting on a Sunday or public holiday, don’t miss the palace illumination between 7–8 PM. The entire palace lights up beautifully and is truly worth watching. The palace looks good from a distance but nothing much special inside. I strictly recommend visiting in the early hours so that you can spend ur time nicely as you like it, if you reach late they will still give you the tickets but chase you away before 5.30 to 5.45 pm However the light show is good in the end 10 mins with the full lights on the palace, it's for 1 hour first 40 mins you listen to the story and again they will chase you out to start the next 1 hour show.

visited Mysuru Zoo and really enjoyed the experience. I got to see the tiger, hippo, leopard, cheetah and giraffe, which was the highlight of my visit. All the animals looked healthy and active. The zoo is clean, well maintained and has lots of trees, so walking around felt relaxing. There are benches and water points along the way, which was helpful. The information boards near the animals were also easy to understand. It's a great place to visit with family and kids. Overall, I had a very good time at Mysuru Zoo and would definitely recommend it. Note: eat well before you enter

An absolute wow! Probably the best zoo in the whole country. All the animals are given plenty of space to wander around. So many species of animals, birds... And they even got some rare species, like white peacock, bengal tiger, black swan, etc. The zoo is veryyyy big, so u can easily spend ur whole afternoon here. They have clean restrooms, places for seating everywhere, and that too in a reasonable ticketprice... They also apply stickers on the plastic items u carry inside, in order to ensure no spoiling. Mysore zoo has always been great. It is one of the best zoo in the country. It is quite large with a lot of collection of different animals. Although zoo is not the right way to see animals where they are kept in captivity, Mysore zoo has kept the animals enclosures as close to their natural habitat environment as possible. The design of the animal enclosures are quite good and no compromise on the space. The animals also appear well fed and healthy. The zoo is almost always crowded. The zoo is quite large and the entire walk around the zoo is more than 2.6 km. But battery operated carts are available for the elderly and those in need. Plastic is not permitted inside the zoo. They collect ₹10 in case you are taking any plastic inside the zoo. This is refunded if you show the same when you come out of the zoo. There are lots of trash cans inside. Adequate toilets are also available inside. The full trip to the zoo could take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours depending on how fast one can walk. There is a lake with boating facility adjacent to the zoo. If one wishes, a combined ticket to the zoo and lake can be purchased.

One of the well maintained and the biggest zoo in South India. All the animals and birds looks active, if you visit in the morning soon after the opening time. You can see lots of big trees and resting seats all over the zoo. Trees are properly maintained. Animals are fed on time. We happened to see some doctors checking up with the animal caretakers. The entire zoo holds around 3km of area, so you will be burning up your calories for sure. A must visit place in mysore, if you have kids. Also, you can book your tickets through scanning the QR code shown before the ticket counter. So, the payment can be done through UPI without any hassles. You need not stand in the que for tickets. This is very much appreciative.

Standing before this 12th-century Hoysala masterpiece, I felt like I was walking inside a living scripture. Every inch of this temple carved from soapstone carries a story… scenes from the Ramayana, Lord Vishnu’s divine forms, dancers, warriors, celestial beings — all frozen in time yet so alive to the heart. It’s humbling to think that centuries ago, in golden evenings lit by countless diyas and moonlight, this temple must have shimmered like a dream. I could almost imagine the hymns in the air, the fragrance of incense, and devotees circling the temple with faith as unshakeable as the stone beneath their feet. If only stones could speak. What moved me even more is its resilience. Despite invasions and destruction over hundreds of years, this sacred site still stands tall — strong, intricate, proud… as though protecting every story it ever held. Shri Chennakeshava Swamy Temple is about an hour’s scooter ride from Mysore, and the journey itself is beautiful, passing through the South Indian countryside. This 13th-century UNESCO temple isn’t very large, but it’s definitely worth a visit. You can easily spend around an hour exploring the carvings and atmosphere, and the entry fee is only about 3 USD (parking not included). It was calm and quiet when I went (especially during the monsoon season), which made it a perfect place for silence, reflection, and of course some beautiful photos. You can hire a guide if you’d like, but with a bit of AI assistance for dates and background info, I felt I got along just fine — and honestly, how many numbers and years do we really remember? If you do decide on a guide, read up beforehand about realistic fees and tipping. I’d recommend planning half a day: visit the temple, enjoy the peaceful vibe, and maybe tie it in with a short tour around the surrounding area. A wonderful spot for both culture and calm. The stone carvings are very intricate and very beautiful. This temple is built using interlocking mechanisms and complete temple can be dissembled and assembled. Please do not touch the carvings it’s been already destroyed by Muslim invaders, as a responsible citizen of India we will preserve and respect the monument and surroundings too.

Beautiful waterfalls during the monsoon. It has a very spectacular view. Parking is available near the waterfalls. Roads are good till we reach the destination.

i. Shivanasamudra Falls is a scenic beauty of silvery water of Kaveri river, dropping into the ravines, from the hills tops, near Malavalli, a sugarcane town. ii. Directions: 133 kms from Bengaluru and 78 kms from Mysore, on the state highway, Maddur - Kollegala Road. iii. Plenty of seating place at different levels, socialise and photograph. iv. Closeby restaurant, souvenirs shopping available.

Breathtakingly beautiful. It takes you a while to get there but it's so worth it. I went on Independence day so there was a lot of crowd there so I would suggest going during offseason to peacefully listen to gushing sound of the falls. The viewing area is vast and there is enough space to accommodate a lot of people, you just have to be careful of the crowds there. Plenty of roadside food options too. Definitely worth a trip.

It's a beautiful place it visit specially during monsoon season when the water is released from KRS dam. The beauty of this place can't be expressed in words you need to come n experience by yourself. The flow of water from the rocks is just like milk flowing through it, that's the beauty of this place. I suggest this place for a one day trip. Though the government is taking entry fees the road to such beautiful place is in worst condition from many years, since many people visit this place they should develop proper road to here.

One of the best One day trip place to visit if you are in Bangalore. July to August perfect time to catch hold of Cauvery water falling from the hill rocks. Roads are very nice, it takes approximately 2.5 hours from Bangalore. If someone starts at 6am. Breakfast can be planned on Kanakapura road side restaurants and easily by 9am you will reach the spot. Going early avoid entry and exit traffic at the spot. Big land with Ample parking available near the falls, don't go crossing the parking ground since it's dead end it will be difficult to get U turn done, only bike parking can be done there. Govt has constructed the view points in 3 to 4 spots in a step wise manner for us to view the falls from different angles. Suggest to take umbrella since this is raining season. You get snacks and juice there. Mobile signal is weak here, UPI payment can be difficult better to carry cash.

Journey was so beautiful with hill n palm tress view. Destination is blessed with Beautiful waterfalls with two sides – Gaganachukki and Bharachukki. Best in monsoon when the flow is huge.Last but not least don't forget to for Kaveri river baoting.Nice spot for a quick trip from Bangalore/Mysore. Gets crowded on weekends, but worth it for the view!

I visited in the second week of July, and it was truly great to witness the waterfall in full flow. There is ample parking available, which is very convenient. Please note that you cannot go close to the waterfall or touch the water for safety reasons. This is a must-visit place for a one-day trip from Bangalore.

Amazing caves and awe inspiring. The moss covered stones and support for access is great! The views are stunning. However, the parking is not easily identifiable, lots of these for cars are given to the buses. The hike from parking to the cave is moderately challenging, with 5-6 steep slopes. We went on a Sunday so it was extremely crowded with many people jumping queues and yelling. More staff is needed to manage the crowd on such days.

The journey begins at a parking ticket counter on the main road, the fee was ₹30 for a car. They assign a numbered parking area (ours was No. 7), and from there, you walk some distance before the line of small shops begins. The path gets progressively steeper, though it’s a tar road initially. After a long uphill walk, you’ll reach another ticket counter (₹50 per person) to continue further. Beyond this point, the path turns rocky and steeper, and you’ll need to climb or walk over rocks carefully. There’s even a narrow opening to pass through, a fun little adventure before you reach the upper section. The views from there are beautiful, and thankfully, steel railings have been installed to assist with the climb. At the top, on the right side, there’s a cave-like chamber where you can see ancient carvings, not very clear, but still fascinating to witness in person. The exit route is separate and has full steel railing support for an easier descent. ⚠️ Note: The climb is not suitable for elderly visitors or those with health or breathing issues. The trek up the Ambukuthi Hills is moderately challenging, with a mix of rocky paths and scenic greenery all around — but the view as you climb higher keeps you going. Once you reach the top, the cool breeze and panoramic view of the valleys are absolutely stunning.The caves themselves are truly fascinating. Inside, you can see ancient carvings on the rock walls — human figures, animals, and strange symbols that date back thousands of years. It’s amazing to think that these were made by people from the Stone Age! The atmosphere inside the cave feels calm and mysterious, almost like stepping back in time. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of history, adventure, and nature — a must-visit spot if you’re in Wayanad.

Place of historic importance - it is more of a rock chamber than a cave. A large rock wedged into the space between the surroundings rocks has formed a large room which probably was used as a living space by people 1000s of years ago. The walls have rock cut pictorial depiction of humans, animals and natural phenomena. There is also evidence of writing in Brahmi script

It's a strenuous climb upto the caves,even to the ticket counter. Be prepared with good shoes and not advisable for those already struggling with climbing stairs. There are only stone steps carved out of rocks and no hand rail on the way up. On the way down was easier with steel hand rails and straight steps.

The safari is well-managed, giving a good chance to spot elephants, deer, bison, peacocks, and if lucky, the majestic tiger or leopard. The forest feels untouched and peaceful. A must-visit for nature and wildlife lovers seeking an authentic jungle experience. However, you have to wait for getting tickets as there is only one window and there is always crowd.

Bandipur Tiger Reserve forest is a lush green thick forest shutter to numerous number of birds and animals. This road leads to Ooty, Tamil Nadu. This natural forest is a treat to watch. WE spotted lot of Deers. If you are lucky you can see Elephants, Peacocks, Tigers also. This forest is a land of lot of tigers. If you want a rich wild life experience Bandipur Tiger Reserve is a perfect getaway. Monsoon Season will be the best time to visit.

Pls pick camper or gypsy don't go for bus safari , they won't take you many places , the moment the bus starts from ticker counter that timings starts which does not make any sense , from ticket counter to safari road it will take 30 mins , so in ( Bus safari )90 mins 30 mins is wasted , better choose to camper or gypsy , mainly to spot tiger you need a sheer luck but however even they wont put any efforts on that.

The Government Botanical Gardens in Ooty is a breathtakingly beautiful and impeccably maintained garden that is an absolute must-visit. Spread over 55 acres, it showcases an incredible variety of plants, from rare trees to vibrant flowerbeds. There may be a traffic near view point on week end we have to wait near 15 mins, but after that we can see the full beauty of the ooty view. We can cover almost full of the area from here. Stunning view is there try to be visit on sunny day otherwise mist may hide the view. Entry fee will be collected at the entry for vehicle and we have to pay 20 rs per head we can pay through UPI also. Many shops available there we can purchase small things. Restroom available here.

This peak offers a complete view of valley.There are snack outlets and even a having parlour.The entry ticket is 10₹. One can even buy sweaters and shawl and even hats. One weekends the place becomes highly crowded

This is a really good view spot in Ooty and a must visit, it is the tallest point in the Nilgiris. The experience was decent, first you are supposed to buy a ticket, but before you get in line for the ticket, you have to enter the market, which had clothes and souvenirs. There are may cameramen present there who will click and print photos on the spot. There is also a watchtower, which you can climb up to get a better view from the Peak. The road leading up to this peak is also scenic, with tall trees.

A few minutes away from Ooty centre, it's worth visiting. At Doddabetta checkpoint, around Rs 50-60 deducted for car entry. Entrance fee is Rs 10. Have to walk a couple of steps to go to the viewing point. There's a small watch tower. There's also a few steps leading down to another viewpoint. Overall, amidst the hills of Ooty and Doddabetta, the views are scenic and serene.

Well, big land converted to a religious place having Lor Shiva's statue 🙏 but other than the statue, it is just a place where you can enjoy some food, have shower, and see bullock cart. Lastly a Dome, also called Dhyanlinga where you can sit and meditate. It can also be done at home for people who don't know. Try this, go back home and close your eyes, empty your mind and call upon whoever you worship. God is within you. They have SAVE SOIL slogan and they love animals. There is bullock cart in 50° degrees carrying passengers from one place to the other. I mean we have battery cars and golf cars but they love animals and want them to know that they are loved deeply. Lets make these poor animals carry 9 people at once under the 50° degree sun. Touche! Tradition can be supported with technology too, we don't need to harm animals this way. We could barely walk in the sun and these poor animals were carrying so many people. God forgive these people who are doing this to animals 🙏 BATH FACILITY - We had shower in the morning so we didn't go shower here. I mean it's not elixir otherwise we would have definitely. DHYANLINGA - the road (walk only) leads to dhyanlinga but when its nearly 50° degrees, it makes it difficult to walk barefoot on the UNEVEN and hot surface. They could have put Carpet on the foor covering uneven surface but i guess they were short of funds and also they wanted you to feel the culture. You are going to feel that culture the next day too when your feet hurts. There were old people walking slowly and some of them were pouring water on the floor to walk on that hot surface. It was 3PM and Carpet is a must for people who aren't used to walking on the uneven hot surface. Finally when you reach dhyanlinga, they will force you to sit inside dome and meditate. We recently had an accident and couldn't sit on floot so they forced us to sit on the chair. We didn't want to be rude so we sat for 2 minutes. There was a small baby crying very softly and these CARETAKERS asked the lady to get out pointing finger as if she made a huge mistake. If they can't respect humanity, what good will come of anything they practice in life. We saw that and immediately stood up. 2 of them tried blocking our way. Well, just to be clear, We bow to God only and there was no God here. We are not slaves they need to get this to their heads. We left instantly without responding to them. By the way, the best feeling was when we bought 3 packets of biscuits and made the dog eat. He was very happy and kept coming back to give his love. That was the only good feeling we got. We made sure the dog wasn't hungry anymore and then left back for the hotel. Canteens are everywhere so don't worry if you miss one. There are more on the way. Also phones were not allowed but we noticed some of them carrying it quietly with them. The deposit box is safe. They take your photo and phone number. So nothing to worry about.

Little crowd, the devasthanam can make little proper arrangements for the people standing in line , no proper water facilities or restroom facilities for those who are standing in line. Fans are there but not working. Water they are giving but only once. But the people are standing & sitting in the line for 4-5 hours. Please kindly make those arrangements

We happened to be in Cochin for the final phase of a project. After nearly three months of meticulous planning and execution, the work was finally nearing completion. The temple was just 95 kilometers away from Cochin, a drive of about 2 hours and 40 minutes through the heart of Kerala’s lush landscapes and vibrant villages. The thought of leaving behind the busy city streets of Cochin and immersing ourselves in the serene, devotional atmosphere of Guruvayur felt like the perfect way to celebrate the successful near-completion of our project. More than a break, it was a pilgrimage—an opportunity to seek divine blessings for the journey completed, and for the many yet to come.

The scenes there was wonderful. There was so much crowd that time. We can buy the tickets and have to walk somtime to reach the top of the waterfalls. There are shops at the top. You can have tea or icecreams. Then on the right side there is a way to the view from the bottom of waterfalls. The way is somewhat adventurous. It will be difficult for people with joint issues. You have to walk down the road. The way to top is wheelchair accessible.

One among the finest beaches nearby Kochi (Cochin). The sandy beach and great sunset views would give you memorable moments. There are foods and souvenirs available here but there is a good scope for improvement.

"Clean, Calm, and Perfect for a Relaxing Getaway!" Cherai Beach is one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches near Kochi. With golden sands, gentle waves, and a clean shoreline, it's perfect for a relaxing day out.

What didn’t work well: Parking charged at around ₹30/hour without designated slots or secure fencing. I had to park in mud and struggled to exit—a guard set the fee, but no proper system or shelter. The beach area is tight and congested, especially during evenings. Space to walk, sit, or play is limited. The shoreline has noticeably narrowed—sea erosion seems to have taken over the sand, reducing usable area. Waste and debris are common, especially after high tides. There’s no visible cleaning schedule or waste management system. Few signboards or markers to guide visitors on safe zones, entry points, or amenities. Numerous resorts and restaurants line the edge, but prices are high, making the experience feel more commercial than relaxing. Safety feels uneven—lifeguards are present only at the main beach, leaving parts of the shore less monitored. The narrow access roads are often crowded or uneven, making approach and exit difficult. Positive aspects to highlight: The location is scenic—where backwaters meet the sea; gentle tides often make it suitable for dolphin spotting. Early mornings and off-peak hours offer calm, peaceful views and a quieter stretch to enjoy. A few local vendors sell light bites such as fried banana or chilli—simple and tasty. Suggestions for improvement: Create organized, secure parking with shade or paved surfaces—and consider validating or waiving fees for visitors. Increase frequency of beach cleaning crews and establish designated waste bins to manage both tidal and on-site debris. Install clear signage and maps to guide visitors to access points, seating areas, restrooms, safety zones, and lifeguard-watched areas. Expand the beach footprint or undertake erosion control measures to restore walking and leisure space. Cherai Beach is a beautiful spot with clean sands and calm waves. Perfect for a relaxing evening walk or watching the sunset. The beach is less crowded than others, making it ideal for families and couples. Definitely a must-visit if you're near Kochi.

It is a Must visit place in Kochi. A unique and good experience along the side of the coast. The fisherman will do a lot of fishing on the sea shore. The mechanism is quite simple yet thoughtful. A few places give a demonstration about how it's done, we got a chance to see the entire mechanism because we had joined a bigger group. Lots of variety of fishes are available of various sizes. You can also purchase along the side and get it cooked in your stay if they allow.

Great place for viewing Arabian sea. You can watch the ships entering and leaving channel. Lot of food joints in around the Bay. Fresh seafood restaurants are there

If you are looking for a sunset backed pic of the Chinese fishing nets, try to reach before 6pm (check local timing for sunset). We unfortunately reached just after sunset but luckily still got some okay pics. There are many shops where you can check out fresh catch and ask for it to be prepared right in front of you. I am sure it will be pricey but should be okay for a one time experience. There is a sunset view point a little ahead of the Chinese fishing nets which you should visit. The ferry is awesome from Marine Drive (High Court Junction) which costs just 40 bucks. AC ferry which is very well maintained

We just made it in time for the Kathakali show here, and I’m so glad we didn’t miss it. The makeup starts at 4:30 PM, and they do it right on stage so the audience can see the whole transformation — honestly, that itself felt like part of the show. The theatre is calm and welcoming, with devotional music and even a nice fragrance around, which made the experience feel special. Before the main performance, they explained the grammar of Kathakali — the expressions, eye movements, and hand gestures — and it was absolutely fascinating. The actual play started at 6 PM, and I was blown away — the makeup, the live instruments, the narration-singing, everything came together beautifully. You can really feel the love for culture in every detail. They also have a small shop at the back with souvenirs like oils, magnets, and antiques. Overall, it’s one of those experiences that stays with you — I’d definitely watch it again.

Fantastic experience at the Kathakali Centre. The staff are caring and committed to preserving the deep artistic heritage of Kerala, showcasing the various traditional artisans with respect and love. You see a small glimpse of performances, guaranteed to inspire you to seek out the full day long performances in the future. We watched an hour long Kathakali show, and a short demonstation of Kalari as well, both were fascinating in their own ways. I wish the centre a lot of success!! Please do visit and support the arts and culture of Kerala!

After 6 month wait, finally we could make it last week. We witnessed the Kathakali performance (including makeup) and Kalaripayatu(martial arts). Excellent performance by the artists in both shows. Good seating arrangements, light and sound. Ease of contacting and booking, courteous hosting and punctuality. Please make it day wise schedule because we wanted to watch classical dance as well but it was on a different day.

Its a must watch experience!!!! If you go early you can get a good spot near the stage where the artist do an interactive performance! All their efforts are so worth every penny. Absolutely loved it💚

Would surely recommend the Kathakali show. It takes us closer to our culture. The effort it takes to get ready for the show and the show itself is memorable. We should encourage these theatre forms for our future generations. My entire family enjoyed the ambirnce and the performance.

The water body is well maintained, pollution free. there are different varieties of boat rides. Speed boat gives an awesome adventurous feel, a must try. If you lucky can see elephants and bison come to the dam territory to drink water. good place to enjoy and have fun. Tickets can be booked online which is preferable rather than buying tickets over the counter which leads to wait time.

It’s a nice scenic place with a beautiful dam surrounded by greenery. The water looks clean, and you can even enjoy boating here it costs around ₹400 for 30 minutes. There’s also horse riding available, and you can get your photos clicked with a professional camera for about ₹100 per big photo. Apart from that, there are small shops, street food stalls, and a few local items to explore. Overall, it’s a good place for a one-time visit and to spend a relaxed day outdoors.

The peaceful ambiance makes it an ideal location for relaxation and immersion in nature. This area is a paradise for nature enthusiasts, offering opportunities for boating and other water-based activities. Pedal boats, speedboats, and rowboats are available, providing an enjoyable experience for families, couples, friends, and adventure seekers alike. However, the heavy traffic in and around the dam can be a source of inconvenience. The area can become quite congested, often resulting in traffic delays. The presence of large buses navigating the single-lane road across the dam can contribute to traffic congestion, particularly during peak seasons. Nevertheless, by venturing a short distance away from the crowded areas, one can discover a peaceful atmosphere, escaping the chaos and fully appreciating the dam's scenic beauty.

Dam not big in size with free entry and small market for shopping, completed in 1953 for hydroelectricity purposes, is set amid lush mountains and dense foliage of eucalyptus trees. If you're lucky, you can see different wildlife species at Mattupetty Dam such as elephants, bison, deer and birds. You can also visit the nearby Eravikulam National Park or Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary for more wildlife spotting opportunities.

The dam itself has a narrow road with two way movement of vehicles and tourists + those visiting passing through. The parking lot is prone to puddles of water with light rain. The reservoir (lake) is picturesque, particularly when the mist is descending. There's boating for those who are interested. Is it a must-see? Perhaps a bit underwhelming for many, but you need to pass this place to visit Echo Point and other attractions further away.

We visited tea gardens during our trip from munnar to Thekkady. Tea garden owner charged Rs. 50/- for per person visit for that. Although it's nothing in front of scenic beauty. We enjoyed it very much, All the warriors performances were very wonderful and Commendable. Must visit

We spent several very interesting hours watching the process to give everyone their cup of tea! Firstly there is a film which gives the background history. The set up which is a village of workers and includes hospital, Nursery, school and housing. A job for life ! The tea gardens are all around, miles and miles of small hills covered in tea. It is a very skilful job knowing which leaf to take. We went around the factory seeing the processes involved. The staff showing us fiercely proud. At the end we had a cup of tea of course and just like theme parks the obligatory shop on the way out!

The beach has a nice and cool atmosphere, making it a pleasant spot to relax and unwind. The surroundings are calm and peaceful, perfect for spending some leisure time. There are many small shops nearby selling food, ice cream, juices, and snacks, so you’ll never run out of options to munch on. The play areas and leisure spaces are also well-maintained and neatly arranged, making it a good place for families and children. However, there’s a slight fishy smell in beach areas, which can be unpleasant at times. Apart from that, the beach itself is beautiful and offers a refreshing experience overall.

Visited Alappuzha Beach in the evening. It was a very active and lively beach. The weather was beautiful and pleasant when we visited. There are many coffee shops, cake shops,and restaurants located below the pine trees, creating a great vibe. You’ll need to park along the roadside under the N.H. overbridge.It’s a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends. oilet facilities are available, but they are not very clean. 🏖️ A truly beautiful beach with a refreshing atmosphere.

This is one of the most beautiful, serene and less crowded beach I have ever visited. The water is usually quite and it might surprise you with prettiest rainbow in the middle of nowhere as well. We also did a lot of shell hunting and found beautiful sea shells. There are beautiful cafes, small food joints along with the beach. You can visit with your family, friends and your partner and can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere around the beach. Make sure to not litter and be respectful and responsible towards the beach.

Visited at night — the beach was calm, breezy, and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing walk by the waves. However, there’s no proper parking facility, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, a nice spot to unwind! 🌊

A very relaxing place with a lovely sea breeze. The sunset here is amazing, and photos taken during that time come out beautifully. There are plenty of snack shops nearby, so it's convenient if you want a quick bite. It is also a good spot to bring kids and spend some peaceful time. Overall, a calm and pleasant beach to enjoy the evening.

We visited around 11:00 am. First buy a entry ticket at the parking area then wait for the forest bus to pick up and then the journey starts. Once you reach the forest you have to buy boating tickets for ride, if u don't want to ride then you can also visit surrounded areas of the lake by other ways like trekking or walking. We reached late and by the time there was no boat for the ride and the next ride was after one hour so it was not worth the ride. So we take pictures at the entry point of the lake and nearby surrounding areas.

To access the boat safari, I took a bus from the city, where there is excellent paid parking available. This was very convenient for me, as I traveled from Bangalore in my own vehicle. The parking area is spacious and very safe. The ticket counter for the bus, which takes you to the starting point of the boat safari, is located at the end of the parking lot. The bus journey took about half an hour. There are various time slots available for the boat safari, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. I chose the 1:45 PM to 3:15 PM slot. All the staff involved in the management were very helpful and humble, enhancing the overall experience. After finishing the boat ride, the return bus took us back to the same parking lot, and we did not need to buy bus tickets again. I forgot to carry binoculars, but if you want to watch the wildlife closely, it's a must-have. Photography enthusiasts should definitely bring zoom cameras. I visited in October, and the weather was pleasant, making the experience even more enjoyable. Periyar Boat Safari is a must-visit for nature lovers, offering a blend of adventure and serenity.

This lake is inside the national park . The ticket price is 250 each for boat in this park and lake visit. The bus will take you from tickets counter to the park and then the ticket for boat ride. There is cafeteria and complex too. It’s an 1.5 hour boat ride and the way is too beautiful. If you are lucky then you will watch birds and animals there drinking water at the bank of the lake. Also camping and staying available there . We had morning batch boat and the views are too good .

A very good place to visit if you are in thekkady. Plan your day accordingly because there are lots of thing to do here Periyar lake boating is common here and if your are planning to do it kindly book you ticket in advance no offline ticket is possible here . We did nature walk here which was a very great experience to do. If you miss boating here you can do these other activities. You can look photos and videos for reference

It's a boat ride for 3 hours on Periyar Lake in the Periyar National Park. Upward journey takes 1.5 hrs and downward journey takes 1.5 hrs. You can find some wild animals like sambars, elephants, tigers (if you are lucky enough). You will certainly find the Sambars as they are more in number. We had found 4 cute Cubs but from a long distance, watched them on Binocular. The ticket price is ₹255 which is very reasonable price for 3 hrs ride.

Mullaperiyar Dam is a masonry gravity dam on the Periyar River of Idukki district of Indian state of Kerala. It is situated 150km south east of Kochi and 200km north east of state capital city of Trivandrum. It is located 881 m (2,890 ft) above the sea level, on the Cardamom Hills of the Western Ghats in Thekkady, Idukki District of Kerala, India.

A lush green serene place full of tranquility where one can immerse in magic of nature. The boat ride in the lake and sighting of wild animals and birds roaming freely is icing on the top. From Periyar bus stand taken to jetty and carried out boat ride. One can purchase tickets at jetty itself if done earlier online. Excellent arrangements. One can opt for green walk also. Truly mesmerizing.

My visit to Periyar National Park was an amazing experience. I went bamboo rafting, took a boat safari. Rafting program includes 7 km trek into the forest and the rafting. It's lasted about an hour for one way. Although animal sightings were few, the trek and overall natural beauty made it worthwhile. If you’re hoping for more wildlife, the best time to visit is between April and May the animals will more easily spotted.

Visited Periyar National Park and had an amazing experience exploring the deep forest and lush greenery. The park is beautifully maintained and offers a true taste of nature and wildlife. The best time to visit is from October to February, when the weather is pleasant, cool, and the forest looks vibrant and green. We were lucky to spot elephants, deer, and several bird species during our visit — a perfect place for nature and wildlife lovers. The peaceful atmosphere and scenic beauty of the forest make it a must-visit in Kerala. Highly recommend taking the early morning Nature walk and Green walk for the best experience!

Certainly one of the best beach, having a great cliff connecting through another beach and having all restaurants/cafés and shops over the cliff. Must recommend the morning walk through the cliff and have a great sight during sunrise. For party ppl Evening time is great fun.

It is a beautiful beach. It has got peace and calm ambience. Where you can sit peacefully, and you can listen, the sounds of the waves. moreover, you will be having less crowd and compatible with Cherai and Cochin Beach. I have been there along with my family enjoyed a lot that too during night time it was very pleasant to hear the song. It is one of the decent features I have ever seen.

One of the best beaches in Kerala..easily accessible from Trivandrum and Kollam.. it’s best to visit here on evening to enjoy the beautiful sunset..weekends will be very crowded

The Varkala Beach does not allow people to bathe in the water. The beach is always crowded but it very closely to the stays. The beach is in walking distance of 3 to 5 KM only. It is the most unique Beaches in Southern part of India. The views from cliff is Stunning. It is well known for its lively atmosphere with many cafes and restaurants along the cliff, catering to visitors. After sunset, it's possible to witness bioluminescence, an aquamarine glow in the water, making for a magical experience. Swimming is not always not safe due to strong currents, so visitors are advised to be cautious and not allowed during season time. It's Good place to relax and unwind. But the food is costly and I don't highly recommend.

Varkala Beach is quite overrated and usually very crowded. Most of the time, access to the beach was restricted, so we could only watch the sunset. However, the sunset view itself is truly mesmerizing. The beach is easily accessible, with plenty of buses running on this route from the railway station. There are also several nearby beaches that are less crowded and have fresher water.
