Sea War Museum Jutland

War museum
Museums
The Sea War Museum Jutland is a captivating destination for history enthusiasts, particularly those interested in World War I. This museum offers an in-depth exploration of the pivotal 1916 Battle of Jutland, alongside intriguing anecdotes that shed light on lesser-known aspects of the war. For instance, it highlights how a German female aviation acrobat pioneered the parachute but faced significant resistance from military authorities who were reluctant to embrace this life-saving innovation.
What an existing experience! It is an amazing collection supported by a well structured audio guide. Together with the displayed information you get a interesting deep dive in to the history of the battle of Jutland (Skagerrakschlacht) Absolute outstanding piece of the exhibition is the Periskop of U20 (for those of you....you know the U20) which you can actually use and look through and see the area around the museum.... Many thanks to the team of the museum!
Qwen T — Google review
It’s a well designed place and has plenty of material, but is quite niche. It’s truly interesting if you’re into wars and military, but a bit less so as a general curiosity visitor. Some items did not have detailed explanations and I was quite curious to know what they are, but realising the older gentlemen at the entrance did not speak much english, i didn’t want to be a bother.
Lilian C — Google review
There’s a nice audio tour available for free. If you have some I recommend bringing plug audio jack headphones. Museum has a very specific focus, not apparent from its name. It could also be called “Battle of Jutland” museum, but there’s other sea warfare included.
Annet O — Google review
VERY INTERESTING PLACE! There is so much to see, and so, so informative (with different language-options)! 🌟🌟🌟
Marina — Google review
Really interesting content. They cover many aspects of WWI sea warfare, with a main focus on the 1916 battle of Jutland. Languages are in English, German, and Danish. Audiotour is free, you pay at the automatic machine in the doorway. I particularly enjoyed the adjacent memorial to the sailors who perished at Jutland. The memorial is free. Washrooms are outside in a nearby pavillon.
Joel B — Google review
Fantastic place to visit and feel the history of this part of the world. There are so many sailors and their battle ships lying in the deep waters off the coast here. The senselessness of war is brought home again to the visitors. The submarine that sank the Lusitania is also partially displayed here or learn of the fate of the HMS Queen Mary battle cruiser. Most importantly this museum tells a story of the men and their ships in an enthralling manner. Very friendly staff and a well stocked souvenir shop.. with plenty to see in the area and restaurants to visit.
Dave P — Google review
Interesting museum! Worth visiting if you are in the area. The exhibits are well presented. Great to see there is English translation as well as an audio guide. A beautiful memorial in the dunes.

Nationalpark Thy, visitor centre Stenbjerg Landingsplads

Mentioned on
+2 other lists
National park
Nature & Parks
Nationalpark Thy is a vast natural reserve in North Jutland, offering diverse landscapes such as dune-backed beaches, limestone cliffs, lakes, and forest trails. Visitors can immerse themselves in the unique nature of the area and enjoy plenty of natural experiences. The visitor centre at Stenbjerg Landingsplads provides information about the park and is located amidst an atmospheric cluster of fishermen's huts. This picturesque spot offers a glimpse into local history with its charming white houses and beautiful fishing boats.
Stenbjerg is one of the most authentic and memorable places I have visited in Denmark. The small white fishermen’s huts by the sea are not just charming – they carry a story. Originally built in the late 17th century, when local farmers were forced to turn to fishing after the dunes swallowed their fields, these houses became a symbol of resilience and culture. Walking down the road towards the ocean, with the dunes on both sides and the huts standing proudly, feels like stepping into another time. At sunset the view is breathtaking, and in the morning light you can feel the calm spirit of the North Sea. The restored huts now serve recreational fishermen, but they still preserve the old atmosphere. 🌿 The surroundings are equally beautiful – the Thy National Park with its wild dunes, heather fields, and endless coastline invites for long walks and bike rides. In summer, the village hosts Stenbjergdagen, a local festival with music and fresh fish, which makes the culture come alive even more.
LétovItálii — Google review
The part around Klitmoller is better call a national catastrophic then national park, cut trees everywhere, the oldest trees maybe 10 years, the paths in marked trails are actually roads for tractors and full of mud, not any good parking and the best is the golf course in a national park! You Better visit some parks in town…
Alchy C — Google review
The place was beautiful, had a nice beach and so. But it was not what I had expected of the first Danish national park. Also some Americans were drinking, behaving annoyingly. There is a one room museum along the path to the beach, which was nice. In general it was a place to see but I don't have any particular memories of it.
Icegini — Google review
Beautiful place with a variety of scenery. From forest, rolling grassy hills, & a beach that goes on for miles. Little town near by, so better to bring stuff in from the train station. Good camping site only a few kms from the town.
Chris T — Google review
Very large park with lots of different routes to hike. Amazing walks near the sea but they are very windy. We went for a hike in the forest area which was equally beautiful.
Hein T — Google review
Loved the national park of Thy it's pretty windy but the waves are showing there teeth and there's lots of Hills

Jesperhus

Resort hotel
Nature & Parks
Informal lakeside property with simple cabins & cottages, plus a zoo, a 4D cinema & kids' shows.
So many fine attractions and activities to choose among. We had a great stay and will surely come back in spite the long drive to get there - it was absolutely worth it. Facilities were always clean and available.
Marco M — Google review
This screams family holiday, their slogan is "vacation for the kids" and it's absolutely true. We love it here, been coming multiple times, our own tent, rented tent, cabin, it's all been good. The flower park is gorgeous and the rides are loved by the kids, we return every year.
Rasmus K — Google review
Locker rooms require 5kr coins. That makes them unusable in todays time. Things should be easy. 0,5l of beer goes from 62 to 93kr. Thats to much. I normally dont mind spending a lot of money on stuff like this but this is to much. Lower the prices and get some more flow.
Mads J — Google review
2022-04-18 - Really happy with our visit, but you where able to sense that is was early in the season which affected the experience of staff and shows… The kids loved it as always! 2021-07-23 - Really happy with our visit! 2020-10-15 - Really happy with our visit! 2019-07-05 - Now it seems like Jesperhus listened to my suggestion 😃 The place have been through a big renovation and are now in proper conditions. The kids really enjoy the place and is way better than travelling somewhere with plane. I would say that kids until the age about 12 years is well entertained. Jesperhus Blomsterpark can for sure also be recommended for families with kids of the same age. Lots of shows with Hugo and Rita which the kids loves and is quite fun for adults as well. 2017-09-08 - This is really and great place for quality time with the family. A great theme for kids, big indoor area for kids playing and a water world (both indoor and outdoor). Only reason for only getting 4 stars is that a renovation would do good for the place.
Simon K — Google review
Jesperhus has an impressive online presence with great branding, addictive YouTube videos and good songs, some rivalling those you'll hear from DR Ramasjang. Unfortunately Jesperhus itself simply cannot live up to their own marketing, at the vacation center and the park you get a clear feeling that no one has really tried to do their best to give paying visiters a great experience. Some high(low)lights: - All the live shows, the Goodnight Show, the Pirate Show and the shows in the park, are absolutely terrible. The actors can't sing and they mumble their way through what feels like improvised bits. It wouldn't hurt to practice the bits beforehand, you know? - The employees are mostly young, badly trained and often seem completely disinterested in your needs. We waited for 35 minutes for french hotdogs and a sausage mix at the play center on a Monday with almost no other people in queue for food - While the new huts are very nice, it is ridiculous that you have to bring toilet paper, soap, dish washing tabs, etc. for the price they're expecting - Cleaning is supposed to be included in the price but when you leave, there is an expectation that you clean the oven, the refrigerator and that you sweep the house - In general, the park feels badly maintained and like no real thought has gone into the rides. The 4D Cinema did not have its 3D effect turned on and the movement of the seats had no relation to what was going on in the movie, and the Treasure Hunt ride is a sad copy of the classic ride in the LEGOLAND park in Billund. With that being said, the indoor tropical zoo is quite good - The water park is a glorified pool with so many people you could hardly get into the water. For some reason, several doors to the outside were open on one side of the building, so that side was freezing cold while the other had a tropical temperature We have visited twice now, but will be going to Lalandia in the future.
Marcus — Google review
Very pleasantly surprising! A lot of actives, shows and amusements for the kids. Some of the cabins even have slides and obstacles for the kids INSIDE and around the cabins! And what really good about it, it's that everything is included in the price!
Maor S — Google review
Paid top price in high season for a pirate hut but disappointed at how little Jesperhus think of their customers. For the price you would at least expect to get some toilet roll in the bathroom - but no, no toilet roll, no cleaning cloth, no tea towel, no dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher....(all of this is supplied in Lalandia parks if you choose to stay there,at no extra cost.) Then theres the cost - they charge per person: our hut sleeps 6 people - has 6 beds, but beware! they claim the price you pay is for 4 people - so if you fill your hut with 6 people you will be charged 10% of the total price for each extra person ( again this is not the case with Lalandia houses - you can fill all beds at no extra charge). The kids are happy with the hut so thats good, but us parents can't help feeling ripped off, especially when Jesperhus wont even go the extra little bit with basic necessities in the hut..they are definitely out to grab every penny they can. Every child is given a colouring/activity book with the possibility to collect some gold coins when finished - but no pencils or colours are supplied - they are conveniently on sale for about 8 euros in the shop so I wonder how many parents have felt obliged to buy them... The activities: No big issues here, the waterpark & playland are fine. Indoor and outdoor areas to choose from. But final verdict - go to Lalandia instead - great waterpark/ bowling (which is free unlike at jesperhus) / minigolf/ playland / other activities, at reasonable prices per house (not per person) and they go the bit extra to make your stay easier -more value for your money!
Gail O — Google review
Pros: - Awesome place, especially for kids. - Lots of playgrounds and a massive indoor jungle gym too. It's big. Huge. Very well built too. - Flower Park is just a few minutes away and easily provides a full day of entertainment. - Mountainbike track on site and very well maintained. - Toilets and facilities are cleaned reguarly Cons: - No temperatur control of showering water, its a mediocre experience - Food and drink on-site is expensive. For Pizzas go to Nykøbing Mors and find "Mors Pizza". Much better and cheaper.

FÆNGSLET, a former state penitentiary turned museum, offers interactive exhibits and guided tours led by former inmates. The prison's unconventional history includes prisoners freely roaming in the evenings and working in workshops during the day. Additionally, the venue hosts concerts within its walls for a unique music experience.
We came here during the medieval festival around August every year. They made it looked it really during the medieval era. There were plays, dances and activities for visitors to try. Plenty of drinks and Foods also to taste. Kids will definitely enjoy here ada there were many activities for them and some playgrounds. With plenty of parking space but better to be early as it gets full after lunch already.
Meriam D — Google review
This prison museum was incredibly interesting and left a deep impression. I found every section engaging, with new and informative displays around each corner. The basement was the most impactful part for me — especially the photo of a former prisoner, which really stayed with me. Most of the written information is available in English, making it easy to follow along. However, the films are all in Danish, so keep that in mind if you don’t speak the language. Overall, a powerful and well-designed museum that I definitely recommend visiting.
Anna — Google review
Amazing museum. Very busy, great stories to tell.
Charli O — Google review
It was okay but we had smaller children and it was not very interesting for them. The biker gang stuff, the contraband search game and the escape tunnel were good though and I would still recommend it if people have the time.

Amazing history museum in an old prison. It guides you through history of Danish penal system and engages you with stories of Danish criminal underground and increduble jailbreaks.

Productions are stunning and definitely worth watching! And that's enough to give them 5 stars even though the seating wasn't that comfortable in my opinion.
Maria C — Google review
Very nice theater with stunning performances way above what you would expect in a city this size. Their musicals are fantastic and sometimes world premieres. Many of the shows are later touring Copenhagen and Aarhus. The building itself is not the very best from audience perspective, as it is rather narrow and deep

Industrimuseet

Museum
Historic Sites
Industrimuseet, established in 1977, is a Labor, Crafts and Industry Museum that narrates the industrial progress in Horsens since 1850. Despite being primarily in Danish, it offers an immersive experience of old Danish professions and living. The museum showcases historical industrial processes on-site, including workers' households from the 1920s to 2000. Visitors can explore shops, apartments, machine areas, and workshops without any restrictions.
Unexpectedly great museum! It offers all kinds of historical industrial processes on site, including the households of workers, which were really great. Ranging from the 1920ies till 2000. They created exactly the atmosphere of the ages they describe. The greatest thing is that you can enter in the shops, the apartments, the machine areas and all workshops. No alarms ringing, no worries that one would steal an old Abba album! Amazing feeling to be back in those times! Very spacious outdoor area and great industrial playground. Suitable for young until early teenager age. Cafe looked good, but we did not get to enjoy it as we were absorbed in the museum one needs at least two to three hours to really enjoy it. Very much worth to visit!
Christy D — Google review

We had a great time. The fact that there was such a variety of exhibits and almost everything was very hands-on really kept our kids' attention. We ended up staying for almost 4 hours. There was room to have a packed lunch - indoors, too, which was particularly useful on the day of our visit. Free parking right next door was also great.

Really lovely place and well decorated. Loved the info boards and the cute decorations and themes everytime you went somewhere. You can tell the place/people working there really cares about their Animals and their environment ❤️

A very nice zoo, where they take good care of their animals. Informative signs with a lot of fun facts. The biomes for the rainforest species and penguins are amazing, but bring a cardigan if you want to stay for feeding time in the latter, it's quite chilly (as it should be)!

Super nice zoo, the animals are well taken care of and they have a good time here. The park is nice to walk through, sometimes it is a little impossible to follow the main trail via the map. But that just makes the adventure more interesting. I am totally in love with the king penguins, they are so big! For me I feel that the enclosures could be a little bigger but I am not an expert after too course.

Such an incredible zoo! There were so many animals to see and it was clear that they were really well looked after. One of the true highlights of Odense.

Beautiful zoo, the main route to follow is clear, plenty of food/drink stalls, and you had the possibility to walk in (or around) some animal area's to really get close to the animals.

H. C. Andersens House

Children's museum
H. C. Andersen's House, located in Odense, Denmark, is a museum dedicated to the life and works of the renowned Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The museum offers a comprehensive and modern experience that provides insight into Andersen's extraordinary life, placing his achievements in historical context with engaging audiovisual material and unique exhibits. Visitors can explore the quaint surroundings of the former poor quarter where Andersen was born and immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of the city.
This was indeed a magical experience. Please take your time to fully enjoy all of the unique exhibits that this museum has to offer. It's enjoyable for the entire family. There is also a nice bookstore on site. Pictures are nice, but the museum really is best enjoyed in person. It's not too far from Copenhagen either, and Odense has other things to see besides the museum. It was definitely worth the trip.

Truly magical and indeed very interactive experience. One of the best museum I have ever visited. The story telling, lighting, the ambience everything felt right into the place. I even had a chance to draw and make a silent book for myself which I believe is one of the unique souvenir that I could ever get. I could spent hours and hours without getting bored. I never thought visiting a museum could be this much interesting.
Mythri K — Google review
Loved it. Great experience for younger ones and still kept us parents interested. The place tells the story of the life of Hans Christian Anderson. Through the main part of the museum you can use these audio guidebooks which were great at also keeping our 4 and 6 year old engaged. The audio bits were easy to do and didn't last too long. Maybe a minute or two maximum for most (a complaint I have for other places like this is sometimes they drone on and on, but this was a great length and lots of them to do). At the end of the main museum there is this great bit which is more interactive for kids as well. After this there is the children's wonderland which had last of roleplay sections and a lot of great quality dress up stuff. And also they had a craft section as well. Staff were friendly throughout. My only complaint was there were no books in the shop I could see in English. Did seem to have other languages though. All in all great place to visit, particularly with kids.

Probably the biggest tourist attraction in Odense, so definitely needs a visit. Well laid out, with a detailed history of his life first, followed by a wonderland of activities for the kids (thank God they didn't do this bit first otherwise you'd never get the kids round the rest of it!) Well curated, and the audio guide worked flawlessly. TBH I hadn't really heard of the fella, but still enjoyed a couple of hours here!

Welcome to H.C. Andersens Hus! The museum’s thoughtfully designed architecture provides a beautiful backdrop for its incredibly creative and immersive exhibitions. This is a truly remarkable journey that guides you through the entire extraordinary life of a literary giant, allowing us to deeply appreciate the genius behind his tales.
Chang-Chih S — Google review
Danish Author 'Hans Christian Andersen' was born in Odense 1805, and is best remembered for his literary fairy tales. He had moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, when he was barely 14, to seek employment as an actor. After being told that he sounded like 'being a good poet', Anderson started focusing on writing. Jonas Collin director of the Royal Theater, personally focused on ensuring that Anderson got serious education. His famous fairy tales include 'The Emperor's New Clothes', 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Nightingale', 'The Princess and the Pea', 'The Ugly Duckling', 'Thumbelina' etc. So much so, that his fascinating stories have inspired ballets, plays, and live-action films. I personally think that 'Sad is the life, which is devoid of furtive imagination, but which can become fruitful, after being a-lit by the lore's of Great Writers'. Since, my travels always leads me to the local Book shops, needless to add that I took the opportunity of rummaging through the racks full of his written works and chose a few to carry them home, to include them in my personal library and ensuring that those deprived of such wonderful fairy tales, will enjoy reading them at galore.
Neeru D — Google review
This was one of the most incredible "museum" experiences. It was a creative journey through the imagination of the great mind of H. C. Andersen! So much time and effort has gone into each display, making it colourful, interactive, fun and interesting, all while telling the great story of his life. The audio guide is the most advanced I have personally used, and was done in a way to keep you captivated and moving along the building. A great experience for families and I highly recommend it.
Annika T — Google review
There is something profoundly unsettling, almost metaphysical, about entering the H.C. Andersen House Museum in Odense. This is not a museum in the ordinary sense, but a kind of sanctuary for a soul that wandered through life as an exile, even in the midst of admiration and applause. Here, one is not simply walking through curated rooms but descending into the deep caverns of a man’s yearning: his hunger for love, for beauty, for meaning in a world that so often offered him none. Hans Christian Andersen’s life was one of quiet tragedy. Born into poverty, plagued by physical awkwardness, and possessed of an almost painful sensitivity, he moved through the world with the wide, searching eyes of a child who never stopped longing. And yet, this child grew into a man whose most intimate desires were never fulfilled. It is likely — though veiled in the gentility of the time — that he was homosexual, or at least deeply drawn to men in a way that society punished with silence. The letters he left behind read like confessions: full of yearning, obsession, loneliness. There is no record of requited love. None. And so, he wrote. But not for children — not truly. Andersen’s tales are often mistaken for sweet bedtime stories, when in truth they are parables of suffering, of moral endurance, of love crushed beneath the weight of indifference and fate. The Little Match Girl dies in the cold, her final visions a last rebellion against a brutal world. The Snow Queen is not a villain, but a symbol of ice that forms in the human heart when warmth is denied. And The Steadfast Tin Soldier — mute, deformed, and noble — burns silently in the fire, still standing, still in love, and no one sees. This museum dares to embrace that darkness. It doesn’t flinch. In its quiet corners and haunting visuals, one finds not the fairytale castles of childhood but the long corridors of the soul. It is a Dostoyevsky-style place where suffering reveals truth, and beauty is inseparable from pain. Odense itself is charming, as though frozen in the innocence that Andersen longed for but never found. But here, in this museum, we confront not the child Andersen, but the man: the weeping dreamer in a cold room, writing his way through the void.

Nestled just outside the bustling city center of Odense, The Funen Village, or Den Fynske Landsby, is a captivating open-air museum that transports visitors back to the 19th century. This enchanting destination features over 25 meticulously preserved half-timbered houses and historical buildings that reflect rural Danish life during Hans Christian Andersen's era. As you stroll through this picturesque village set against a stunning natural backdrop, you'll gain insight into the cultural and historical roots of Funen.
This an interesting place to see the older style architecture of Denmark developed as if a village and all contained in a relatively small area. The adjoining restaurant/cafe provides tasty food and drinks, so also worth a visit.
Mal J — Google review
I loved the experience specially as foreigner got to experience village style house of Europe and traditional construction of different times.
Karthika L — Google review
One of the most interesting and enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had. The farm buildings are so full of cool things to see and learn about, I could go back many times. My only comment, and this is not a criticism by any means, is without historical interpreters - the places feels somewhat listless. Granted that takes staffing and money- both of which are hard to come by, but I’d say that this visit made my entire Denmark vacation worthwhile.

A great experience, a small Danish Pompeii of the 1700-1800. Talk with the old people here and there, they really offer great gems on history and knowledge, I finally understood why old danish houses are done the way they were done. Great for kids also. Highly recommended for anyone doing an on the road holiday through Danemark.

It's a cute museum which helps you get a better grip on what life was like on Funen some 150-200 years ago. Especially fun with children. I liked the spin they put on the experience relating things to sustainability and circularity.

Interesting to learn about the life of Danish gamers and villagers in the 19th century. Unfortunately no guides during the week and all tekst is in Danish. You can use the Useeum app for English explanation with every building

A nice way to explore the past. A relaxing atmosphere and super chill farm animals. It's a good way to experience nature and fresh air, see some super interesting old buildings and have some exercise. Lots of place to eat what one brings from home but I'm glad we forgot ours and experienced the restaurant inside
Anna R — Google review
The Funen Village is worth a visit. You travel back in time to see how life was like in the 1800s. You get to go into pretty much all the buildings and get a real feeling how it was like to live in these structures. It’s also pretty cool that they have some farm animals here as well. The entrance to this place is through the modern looking building close to the main road. Parking is plentiful.

Visitors can explore furnished rooms inside the castle and wander through its expansive 15-hectare garden, which features family-friendly activities such as treetop rope courses, mazes, and a playground. The estate also houses museums displaying an impressive collection of antique vehicles.
What a fantastic experience! With several big creative playgrounds and great Interactive exhibitions. Ranging from classic cars and motorbikes to tours of the renaissance castle, with a lot of history to soak you into a brilliant day in the castle garden where you can see alot of different gardenv varieties and end up getting lost in the huge labyrinth.

A lovely castle, gardens museum and play areas. I went most looking forward to the castle but was pleasantly surprised by the size of the play area and the museum and particularly the collection of historical cars. The amount of activities for younger kids to keep them busy was great as well with lots of variety.

I would give 10 stars if I could. Initially thought the cost was a bit steep compared to other places we'd visited in Denmark. Enjoyed the gardens but hadn't expected the displays if vintage/old and very interesting cars, bikes, motorbikes, helicopters to be so extensive. 2 whole 'sheds' contained exhibits that were covered in dust as insufficient room to display.

Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Funen, this place is so much more than just a historic castle—it's a full-day experience packed with charm, culture, and fun for all ages. The castle itself is absolutely stunning, with its fairytale-like architecture surrounded by a peaceful moat. Walking through the beautifully preserved rooms feels like stepping back in time

A grand place for the family. Cars, motorcycles, history, gardens and facilities for a full days entertainment is all at Egeskov. Egeskov has a very large visitor capacity, so don't be worried if you see a full parking lot. It can easily handle the crowds. Great playgrounds for the little ones and lots of interesting things for the grown ups. Highly recommended.

Castel and its garden and other exhibitions were really nice. In the castel you can see some old clothes, hunting room, toys… Also the garden and playground is really good. In garage you see many old cars, bikes, motorcycles… I was maybe a bit disappointed in camping equipment… it felt a bit too commercial. But for sure I would recommend a visit. Maze was amazing and not as easy as one might think. We stayed 3h.

Nyborg Castle – The Medieval Heart of Denmark Closed for visitors until 2028. But take a walk on the rampants to get an impression. Step into 800 years of Danish history at Nyborg Castle, once home to kings and the medieval parliament, the Danehof. Built around 1200, it hosted Denmark’s first constitution in 1282 and later became one of the kingdom’s strongest fortresses. From royal residence to military garrison, the castle has seen it all. Today, it’s undergoing an ambitious restoration with a new museum wing opening in 2028. Explore its rich past, enjoy views over the Great Belt – and don’t miss a walk along the ramparts with their impressive cannons.

The Great Belt Bridge is an impressive 18km-long structure that connects the islands of Zealand and Funen in Denmark. It incorporates a stunning suspension bridge, often compared to the elegance of the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge offers breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and is a popular route for road travel, with an option for discounted toll prices using BroBizz.
The biggest hanging bridge between Fyn and Sjælland. You can also take railroad trip aswell as motor traffic. It’s an amazing bridge I wished weather was better to take better pics and videos but since not so ;( . If you don’t want to stick in line by paying so it’s best idea get Brobizz and register nummer plate and past faster . For now it’s costing to use bridge and it’s little expensive but after 30 years of made dato will be free as they saying ✌️
Emre U — Google review
Ludicrously Expensive. You have to treat this as an attraction, I.e. an experience that you're paying for. As such, enjoy the view, get your passengers to take photos, and if you can, head to the free parking at the Isbådsmuseet on the Sjælland side to get a different view. We took our car from Scotland, so we had the unique experience of a rare RHD going over. 230kr. One way, though (£26 GBP). At that price, I wouldn't like it to be my regular commute.
L E — Google review
First thing - it's quite expensive, 230DKK is nothing cheap for simple bridge you will pass in few minutes. But it is good shortcut and interesting landmark. You can stop by next of some small (free) boat museum and enjoy the view, if you don't have rainy weather like we did.
Václav S — Google review
Adore it — Storebæltsbroen is more than an engineering icon — it cut travel time across Denmark by over an hour and symbolically united the country’s eastern and western regions. The eastern suspension bridge carries rail and road decks on separate levels, with cables containing ~18k individual steel wires—enough to circle the Earth nearly four times. Each pylon stands on caissons sunk into the seabed with millimeter accuracy, built to endure winds of 80 m/s and ship collisions up to 300000 tons.
Iryna K — Google review
I have used the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark a few times, which connects Zealand and Fyn islands. It's an incredible piece of architecture with stunning sea views. Spanning a total of 18 km, it's the longest bridge in the region. If you use BroBizz, you can get a discounted toll price. Driving across at 110 km/h, the experience is truly enjoyable with breathtaking panoramic views. Highly recommend for anyone driving between the islands!
Rakesh J — Google review
07/19/2025@10:00 pm: Payment Impossible, no service contact available and no one takes care of toll gates. Police had to be called because service number was not operating at night. Total mess other direction one toll gate got destroyed. Due to it is not foreseen for foreigners to pay other than by card or by cash a long trafic jam was resulted. This is tourist unfriendly because other toll gates support online based pre-paid systems. Additional confusion because payments randomly only worked after double payment and following vehicles were confused if to go or stay and ask police if to pass unpaid or wait. In case of an emergency the non working payment systems could cause a potential security risc from resulted traffic jams because in case of emergency help will arrive with a long delay. Think over and change it!

The museum showcases excavated objects from the Viking Age, features a reconstructed house from that era, and presents the archaeological ring castle. The site also offers engaging workshops for children, making it an ideal family-friendly attraction.
Perfect place for the costume Wedding - we have had it on the Weekend. I wasn’t expecting much at first, but this place turned out to be quietly stunning. The sculptures and the open landscape create such a peaceful and impressive atmosphere. It’s not a huge tourist attraction, but that’s part of the charm. If you happen to be in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by. It’s simple, calm, and way more beautiful than I imagined.

It’s an ongoing project that should be completed in 2026. But with the sounds produced and the sea view , it’s relaxing when it’s not overcrowded. You have few places to sit and it’s free. If you are coming during sunny days, bring your sunscreen or umbrella because there’s no shade. I will encourage to pick up the free booklet there and read up about the ones involved and how the music is produced.

Careful - Google maps told us to park on the road supposedly 200m away. It was a 12 minute walk there and then 12 minutes back. You can go down a private road which says no entry- there is a car park for 3 handicaped people and then a private one for 50 DKK - which is 100m far from the sculptures. However, when the weather is nice, the walk is good and the views are great. Worth visiting.

This magnificent church is steeped in Danish royal history and located in the heart of a charming town with red roofs. The church's captivating architecture is noteworthy both inside and out, making it an impressive sight to behold. BonBon-Land is a delightful candy-themed amusement park that offers a wide variety of attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to family-friendly rides and entertaining statues scattered throughout the park, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The park provides ample parking options, including free parking for season pass holders. Visitors can bring their own food for a picnic experience and explore the vast area filled with exciting features.
Great amusement park , with a lot of great options for all age groups. What I like the most is that we could bring our food inside and enjoy little picnic time. Is the place where we can spend whole day and still get to see new things around(is the big area, there are many amazing things in different corners 🙂) . Great parking space, few games has long queue but most of them had short waiting time. Its advantage that kids under 90 cm has a free entry. There is small water park for kids, so it’s better to take their swimming customs if they love playing with water.

It is a fantastic spot for a family day out. The kids absolutely love it, no question about that and there is something for everyone, regardless of age. From fun rides and playful activities for little ones to more thrilling attractions and relaxing areas for adults, the place offers an all rounded experience. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire day without getting bored.

Excellent location and opportunities for kids to play around!!! Probably among one of the best near Copenhagen..!!!, Unfortunately three of the main rides were not functional today 24/07… And the park was swamped by BEES both my children had been stings…
Junaid — Google review
It's an amazing amusement park and the rides are awesome. The food they sell is also great. There is also a relaxing place to eat breakfast or lunch near the ducks and fish
Malek A — Google review
1. A bit too expensive. Differentiate between people taking the rides and those who just accompany them. 2. Many attractions were closed, and there was no info about it before er entered. 3. It's quite pricey - also with the golden membership card. 4. A bit neglected here and there. 5. What is that thing with farting in Bonbon Land? Is this really something that you can offer children in their spare time? (Show about farting, etc.) 6. Food is junk and expensive. 90% is just trash like slush ice, french fries, and coke. Besides: good size, quite many different places to play around, a lot of attractions where 3-4 years old can ride on, and rather friendly staff.

Viking Ship Museum

Museums
The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark, offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient and medieval maritime culture. The museum is home to five remarkably well-preserved Viking ships that were excavated at Skuldelev and date back to the 11th century. Visitors can explore original 1,000-year-old Viking ships as well as exact replicas at the museum harbor.
An unforgettable experience for anyone who loves Norse history and mythology! The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde is not just a museum - it’s a journey into the heart of the Viking world. Standing face to face with actual ships that once sailed the seas over a thousand years ago gave me chills. These vessels, recovered from the Roskilde Fjord, are deeply tied to the seafaring spirit of the Norse people. If you're passionate about Nordic mythology, this place is a dream. You can easily imagine these ships as the kind that carried warriors who worshipped Odin, sailed under Thor’s protection, and told tales of Loki’s mischief by the fire. The longships here evoke the legendary drakkars - dragon-headed ships said to sail across Midgard and into mythic battles. The museum also shows how real Viking life blended seamlessly with the mythological world. The sea wasn't just water - it was sacred and feared, ruled by gods and creatures from the sagas. The craftsmanship of the ships reflects this reverence. There are also live demonstrations of traditional boatbuilding using ancient tools, and you can even sail in replica Viking ships yourself - a truly immersive way to feel like part of a saga. Beautifully located on the fjord, this museum is a must-visit. Whether you're a history buff, a mythology lover, or both, this is one of the most inspiring and atmospheric museums in Denmark.

At the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, you’ll see the real Viking history — quite literally in pieces. The remains of five original Viking ships are displayed here, each with its own story of sea voyages, trade, and warfare. There are guided tours and activities running throughout the day, so it’s worth checking the schedule when you arrive. The guide shares the fascinating history behind the five ships that were discovered just a stone’s throw from here, in Roskilde Fjord. For those feeling hands-on, there’s a small workshop where you can try building your own miniature Viking ship. The kids especially loved hammering and sawing away. I had signed up for the sailing tour, where you get to sail on a Viking ship and even help raise the sail as part of the crew. Unfortunately, only four of us showed up out of the ten tickets sold — the rain kept the rest away. Without enough people for the weight balance, the trip had to be cancelled. Safe to say, I was pretty disappointed — it’s not every day you get to sail like a Viking. There’s also a restaurant by the museum. I tried the Viking platter — decent, but nothing to shout about.

Not far from the Copenhagen, about 30 mins train ride. Just a reminder, you have to walk about 30-40 mins from Roskilde Station to the Viking Museum. Arrived at the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum around mid morning. There are two areas: first inside the agreat Hall, you'll see the five ancient Skuldelev ships in somewhat in skeletons forms. You'll feel a quiet awe just looking at their thousand-year-old remains. Second part is the outside where you'll see a beautiful place view with tons of boats. Tons of things to do outside, you can watch boatbuilders meticulously crafting replica ships in the boatyard. You can also sail out on the fjord in one of the reconstructed longships, sadly no more available slots for the day. If you have the budget and you'd like to fully experience, I suggest to pre book before going. Since we went during summer (end of August) you are allowed to climb aboard other replicas at the harbor, even try on Viking clothes. Overall it's a full experience.
Tiffany D — Google review
One of the most important attractions and museums during the visit to Copenhagen (40minutes by train). Staff are so welcoming with smile. Cinematography short movie in many languages will help a lot to understand the museum. The workshops outside will show you how the V-boats were built. Don’t miss it
Jean Z — Google review
A world-class and unique experience which is a must-visit if you're coming to Copenhagen as it's brilliant and only a 30-minute ride on the train (which is cheap and very frequent). See several recovered Viking long ships, discover about the different types and how they were built and used and then see expert craftspeople making replicas for experimental archaeology - sailing them to see how the Vikings would have used them. You can also become part of a crew in a small longboat close to the centre. And kids can design and make their own boat in wood with hand tools. Free tours in Danish and English by students are good and friendly. The venue hosts special exhibitions downstairs in the main hall. Several places to eat and drink on-site. Medium-size car park. If walking from the town train station, it's a pleasant and mostly flat walk. The shop has lots of Danish culture things to buy as well as stuff related to the Vikings. All staff friendly and helpful.

This museum is an incredible place filled with authentic Viking ships, fascinating artifacts, and tons of interesting facts about the Vikings. Both children and adults will find plenty to explore and enjoy. During my visit, there was a blacksmith workshop where a skilled craftsman demonstrated traditional forging techniques. There was also a shipbuilding area where craftsmen were using hand tools to build seaworthy Viking ships — a truly impressive sight. For kids, there’s a small hands-on workshop where they can build their own miniature ships from scrap wood and test them in a water pool. There’s also a replica of a Viking household, complete with Viking clothing you can try on and a play area for children. The museum also has an excellent restaurant with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. And best of all — if the weather is good, you can join the crew of a real Viking ship replica and sail out to sea. An unforgettable experience!

I was a bit sceptical at first when i read its about one Viking boat restored. But there are 5 of them, and , whats more they have been fully rebuilt and are available even to step-in at the port next to the museum ! I learnt a lot from the short film in the museum. Go to the boat workshop at the port - they are just building a new boat, using old traditional tools, and you can chat with craftsmen. It was Worth a visit/trip from Copenhagen.

Roskilde Viking ship museum is a fantastic place. The museum has the excavated remains of Viking vessels, with activities for kids. Outside are reconstructed vessels and workshops where they are experimentally building new Viking vessels. Good facilities and cafes, free entry with a Copenhagen card and easily signposted from Roskilde train station. Well worth a visit.

Sights & Landmarks
Roskilde Cathedral, a 12th-century Gothic brick cathedral in Denmark, is a significant monument due to its unique architecture and historical importance. It is the first brick-built Gothic-style cathedral in Scandinavia and has evolved over 800 years to reflect changing architectural styles. The cathedral serves as the royal family's burial church, housing the tombs of numerous kings and queens. Visitors can explore its imposing exteriors and interiors while learning about Danish history.
You have to visit Roskilde Cathedral! Its amazing brickwork and unique style are so impressive, but the history inside is even better. Exploring the royal tombs is truly fascinating – especially look for the hidden tombstone of the three-legged horse and other cool myths surrounding the royal burials! The stunning Antwerp altarpiece and detailed royal tombs are also a beautiful sight. It was a fantastic visit, totally worth your time to discover its secrets!

As a history enthusiast, I was absolutely blown away by Roskilde Cathedral. This UNESCO World Heritage site is not just a stunning architectural marvel, but a living timeline of Danish royal history. Touring it with Ophelia Tours made the experience even more unforgettable - our guide Rene was knowledgeable, passionate, and made the entire visit engaging and fun. The cathedral’s sheer historical significance is staggering. It’s the final resting place of over 40 Danish monarchs, including Queen Margrethe I and King Christian IV. Walking through its chapels feels like stepping back in time - each one reflects the artistic styles and political shifts of the era in which it was built. From Gothic to Baroque to Renaissance, the cathedral is a tapestry of over 800 years of Danish history. The detail inside is breathtaking. The intricate tombs, the majestic organ, the soaring vaulted ceilings, and the peaceful crypts all tell powerful stories. I especially loved learning how the cathedral evolved over time and seeing how each generation left its mark - something you rarely get to witness so vividly in one place. Roskilde itself is a charming town, full of cozy streets, great cafés, and a welcoming vibe. It made the perfect day trip from Copenhagen - peaceful, beautiful, and rich with history. Highly recommend both the cathedral and Ophelia Tours. This was truly a highlight of our Denmark trip!

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Today we celebrate its 30yrs. Very much worth a visit. Roskilde Cathedral is one of the most meaningful places to visit in Denmark, see a thousand years of Royal history, architectural masterpieces and art. Parking: limited parking available, 2hrs free parking and there will be a charge after that. Toilet is available inside the cathedral Disability access: may be a bit challenging as most areas have stairs. But may go around the plain floored part of the cathedral Original structure: Began as a church built by King Harald Bluetooth around 980 AD (made of wood). • The current brick cathedral replaced the earlier church around 1170–1280. • It was one of the first Gothic-style cathedrals in Scandinavia, built mainly from red brick, influencing church architecture across Northern Europe. 👑 Royal Burial Site • Since the 15th century, Roskilde Cathedral has been the main burial site for Danish monarchs. • Over 40 Danish kings and queens are buried here — including: • Queen Margrethe I (founder of the Kalmar Union) • King Christian IV • King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid • Future monarchs, like Queen Margrethe II, also have tombs prepared there - refer to last photos Inside the Cathedral • Richly decorated altars, frescoes, and royal sarcophagi. • Features impressive organ pipes and historic tombs made of marble and alabaster. • Each royal chapel is unique, showing how Danish art and architecture evolved through the centuries.

A true marvel of a cathedral, a burial place for many Danish kings. We took a tour that took as to the cathedral on a bus. We arrived right before the opening, and the whole place without crowds that appeared a short while later. The place is rich in history but a tour guide really helps to appreciate that. Otherwise it may look like a regular church.

I live in Rome. Many people from all over the world come here. I know our beauties, yet Roskilde Cathedral is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's full of imposing, celebratory monuments. What you feel, standing there, is the solemnity of the Danish kingdom.

This cathedral is definitely worth visiting. The interior architectural is beautiful and this place holds so many of the kings grave and they are so beautiful!!! The entrance ticket is also more reasonable than the other places of interest...

Not far from the Roskilde Station. Going into Roskilde Cathedral feels like walking straight into the past. This is where Danish kings and queens have been buried for hundreds of years. You'll walk past royal tombs some in fancy and beautiful stone bed for a queen or king. The real "design" highlight is the royal chapels, which are like small museums themselves. Each one was built in a different time period, so you see everything from medieval wall paintings to huge, dramatic Baroque and Renaissance tombs.

A beautiful castle built in the early 17th century. The alterpiece made of ivory and gold looks majestic. From the pre-historic to modern times, there's a lot to see. The gardens are a treat for the eyes and the castle is worth it.
Rajashree M — Google review
The building is being repaired as I went there, the inside is cleaned and well-maintained. The artworks of the royals and the shields are a bit special though, I also enjoyed the nouveau history bit that was shown on the third floor. The price was good for such a big exhibition. Now as for why I'm only rating it 3 stars, I personally don't think it's worth going out of your way to buy a ticket outside of Copenhagen to go here, because the inside of the castle looks a lot like that of any other's in Europe that I've been in so it's not very memorable and the vicinity is pretty bland in comparison with the inner part of the city.. don't misunderstand though, I'm not warning anyone against visiting this. If you're using public transport I'd recommend buying single tickets and not the big city pass, outside the main city the town isn't very touristy.

Amazing Denmark: A Journey Through History at Frederiksborg Castle Visiting Frederiksborg Castle was an immersive journey into the grandeur of Danish history. The castle's chapel, with its ornate interior and serene ambiance, evokes a sense of reverence for the architectural mastery of a bygone era. Each room in the castle tells a story, adorned with intricate ceilings and walls that bear the brushstrokes of artists who have captured the essence of Denmark's regal past. The gardens are a testament to landscape artistry, offering a tranquil retreat with meticulously trimmed trees lining the pathways, leading visitors through a verdant tableau of nature's splendor. Frederiksborg is not merely a castle; it is a narrative etched in stone, paint, and flora that continues to enchant visitors with its historical splendor and artistic heritage.

Frederiksborg Castle, a stunning lakeside palace nestled in Hillerod, Denmark, is a treasure trove of Danish and royal history. Originally constructed in the early 17th century for King Christian IV, this magnificent fortress showcases Dutch Renaissance architecture and stands proudly amidst its picturesque moat-lake. Visitors can explore the expansive grounds featuring beautifully manicured baroque gardens and access the central courtyards without charge.
Absolutely stunning! Frederiksborg Castle is without a doubt one of the most impressive baroque palaces I’ve ever visited - and I’ve seen many across Europe. The architecture is grand and elegant, with richly decorated rooms full of history, royal portraits, and fascinating artifacts. The chapel alone is a masterpiece, and knowing that Danish monarchs were crowned there adds a real sense of significance. The surrounding grounds are equally breathtaking. The baroque garden is massive and beautifully kept, offering amazing views of the castle from different angles. You can easily spend hours walking around the lake, gardens, and courtyards. Fun historical note: the castle was built by King Christian IV in the early 1600s and later restored after a major fire, thanks in part to the founder of Carlsberg beer! It now houses Denmark’s National Portrait Gallery and offers a deep dive into Danish royal history. A must-visit if you’re anywhere near Copenhagen — worth the short trip to Hillerød. Peaceful, majestic, and unforgettable. It made me think of some amazing palaces of Peterhoff, Saints Peterburg.

Frederiksborg Castle is a grand and beautiful castle located about an hour from Copenhagen 🇩🇰. You can take a train to Hillerød Station, and from there it’s an easy 1 km walk to the castle 🚶‍♂️. Entry fee is 110 DKK per person, and the castle is surrounded by stunning gardens and a peaceful lake that make the whole place truly picturesque 🌿🏰. When we visited, some parts were under renovation, and the museum inside didn’t have much that was interactive. Still, the architecture and royal atmosphere make it a pleasant visit, especially if you love history and photography 📸. If you’re short on time, we’d recommend visiting Kronborg and Rosenborg first, and then Frederiksborg — in that order ⏱️. Each has its own charm, but Kronborg and Rosenborg felt more engaging overall ✨.

Why visit? ✅ If limited on time, tour the grounds for free (no cost). ✅ Regarding the grounds, there are so many different views to enjoy while walking the property: gardens, waterfronts, bridges, courtyards, etc. ✅ The castle interior (admission required) is loaded with artwork, antiques, and rooms that stun with both size and intricate detail. Why skip? Honestly, I can’t think of any reason. If limited on time, at least walk to the grounds to get a good look. If spending a day in town, this is THE attraction to visit.

This is a lovely easy day trip out of Copenhagen. A single 40 minute ride on the E train to Hillerød station then a 15 minute walk or short bus ride to the castle. The castle is huge and rarely crowded, but the vast rooms, artwork, and gardens are gorgeous. Check out the tour times before you visit - we were lucky to arrive just in time for the English language tour and it was superb. The castle is an easy walk from town, but there’s also a small boat which does a lap of the lake and for a small fee takes you to the garden and the far side of the castle.

We knew this place was one of those 'must see' locations on the island of Sjælland and I vaguely remembered going there when I was 12, entry is also included within the Copenhagen Card. We had actually spent the entire day in Copenhagen the day previously and so had always planned to head north the following morning. We were back at Tivoli by the afternoon so definitely recommend this as a day if you've the stamina. Very impressive castle and worth the visit. It would probably have been better a few weeks later when the wee boat on the Slotssøen was running again (too early in the season) but then I imagine you'd want more than just a morning in the area when the weather is warmer too. The bonus was that it was really quiet - you'll see from the photos we were often the only family in these huge and spectacular rooms.

Additionally, the museum's location near the beach makes it an ideal destination for art enthusiasts looking to explore both culture and nature in one trip.
I usually visit Arken 3 or 4 times per year, it’s always a beautiful journey, not only about art, but the area it’s calm, gives this inspirational and wonder vibe! The museum has some special exhibitions, and little by little visitors emerge into the artistic world. I enjoy the welcoming and warm of the staff members, and how kind they communicate with the customers but also between each others transmitting a nice feeling of a community. For some video projections more seats are needed as there was no space for everyone. The location is simply beautiful. Other than that, there is a big parking place also used by those going to the strand and not visiting the museum, and a small bycicle space.

truly engaging experience with its thought-provoking exhibitions and interactive attractions that leave a lasting impression. The location, slightly away from the city center, adds to its unique atmosphere and makes the visit even more memorable. On top of that, the museum café serves excellent coffee, making it a perfect spot to reflect on the art and the overall experience.

A very nice contemporary art collection showing a large variety of mediums and subjects. They also include community projects and plenty of opportunities to rest and create. Family oriented and cozy.

Cool museum! Lots of modern and interactive art that’s fun to explore. Loved that you can actually engage with the exhibitions instead of just looking at them. The building and seaside location make it even better. If you are looking for a different museum experience this is a good option.

An interesting modern art museum by the coast. Not the most inspiring building on the outside, but good exhibits, café/restaurant and shop. Unfortunately, the day we came there was extremely loud construction going on. The museum gave cheap entrance and a free coffee because of the noise, but it would have been nice if they had stated the ongoing work on their website. Still a good place to visit and very nice food. Our highlight was the plastic ball pool for all ages. Lots of parking but unfortunately no electric car charging available.

Cold war museum Stevnsfort

The Cold War Museum Stevnsfort, located in South Zealand, Denmark, offers guided tours of a 1950s underground fortress carved into limestone cliffs. This fortress served as a crucial element of defense for Denmark and NATO during the Cold War. The site features well-preserved equipment and offers an intriguing tour that includes visits to anti-aircraft batteries, anti-ship turrets from a German WWII battleship, and deep underground command posts and armories.
Nobody was supposed to know. Nobody was allowed to talk about it. Buried deep in a piece of cliff, Stevnsfort was a top-secret building block in the defense of Denmark and NATO during the Cold War. The so called Stevnsfort in Denmark is the Last Fortress of the Cold War Era: A hidden Frontline, deep under the Surface. Read the full story about the forgotten fortress here:

Excellent! I had to do the English audio tour with a Danish tour guide, but the facility is just amazing. The tunnels were a nice relief from the hot sun outside. I was able to lock my bike under a shelter, and the staff kept a bag for me so I didn't have to carry it around.

Very interesting place ! I recommend the visit in English with a very experienced British militar that explains a lot of details even with humour, we enjoyed a lot, great job and thank you!

What an excellent experience, well worth visiting but take a guided tour. I was lucky and was the only one on the English tour and had plenty options to film a photograph thanks to my excellent guide Ulla.

A tour that is definitely worthwhile. Not only the bunkers and all the military equipment are worth the trip, but especially the dramatic history behind them. Under one of the most beautiful landscapes in Denmark, hides a colossal witness and actor of the Cold War. An absolute must for anyone interested in history. A guide leads the tour through the facility in Danish. An app allows you to follow the most important information in other languages.

Nice place which provides some insights into cold war military securities but maybe its not so aged anymore in the world of 2025...

We visited Stevnsfort a group of friends, took the special tour, and what an experience! Our guide Jørn Due was a great storyteller, and we had an amazing time around the fort and all the hallways and secret passage ways. A big recommendation to visit this place of Danish military history! 🇩🇰

Stevns Klint UNESCO World Heritage

Stevns Klint UNESCO World Heritage site is a geologically significant chalk and limestone cliff located in Stevns, Denmark. Rising 41 meters above sea level, it offers visitors world-class experiences and the best place to see traces of the asteroid that caused mass extinction 66 million years ago. The area features walking paths, an old church, and a museum about the formation of Stevns Klint.
I visited Stevns Klint in Denmark. It is an awesome treat for your eyes, with picturesque and stunning views. The cliffs and coastal scenery make it a must-visit spot for nature lovers. There is so much space for picnic and barbecue. Parking is with fee. Easy access from parking and not so much trekking needed. There are steep steps to get down to the beech. Highly recommend it!

Enjoyable little stop. There's the UNESCO site with a couple small churches and a stairway down to the beach (closed when we visited in March), where you can see the cliffs. A couple minutes up the coast is the lighthouse along with free parking and a bathroom. You can't see the cliffs from there but they have free binoculars to see around the area.

Small place with breathtaking viewpoints all along the clif. Just watch out, hardly any fences and the cliffs must be around 50-70 meters high. At the far end there is a rather large paid (5 euro, card only) parking from where its a 2 minute walk to the church and start of hiking trails along the cliffs

Visited late in the afternoon so there were not a lot of people around. The view of the cliffs were amazing from the old church. It's nice that they rebuilt the stairs with metal now but it is quite steep so need to be extra careful going down the beach. Happy to have found one stone with a fossil as well.

Great place to visit, the little church is funny looking and it is quite impressive to see the cliff face, even if it is really hard to distinguish the different layers. Be aware that access down to the beach is via a steep stair.

Beautiful place to visit. The history of the church is fascinating. The shoreline is very picturesque, a nice walk to the lighthouse. Recommend the restaurant by the lighthouse, but may need to book at busy times.

There is a beautiful walking path along the coast! The cliffs, lighthouse, fort and church were lovely in a bucolic setting.
