Kaliyadeh Palace

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Kaliyadeh Palace, a stunning 15th-century river island gem, is an enchanting destination that captures the essence of history and nature. Nestled by the serene Shipra River, this palace boasts exquisite Persian-style domes and intricate inscriptions that tell tales of its glorious past. The untouched surroundings create a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for those seeking peace away from bustling city life.
This location is a great spot to visit because it remains in its natural, undeveloped state. It's a perfect place for those who appreciate untouched nature and serene environments. However, I would recommend not going alone or as a couple since it is situated outside the city and is less crowded. For safety purposes, it's best to visit with family or a group. The main attraction here is an old building, which, while not particularly spectacular, holds historical value and is worth seeing if you have the time. It's a unique experience that adds a touch of history to your visit.
Manish K — Google review
Just a place. Not maintained. Not looked after. No other visitors. Only the main palace seemed interesting out of its any other attraction point. There's a mini temple inside the main palace which can be accessed from the back side and only up to one room.
Bhishmak T — Google review
Untouched natural ruins surrounded by nature. Peaceful, natural and seems a bit haunted as well. It's recommended not to visit this place alone by elders as per some old tales. It's super quiet here, you won't see almost any person here to be honest. I visited this place around 8AM in the morning. There is a statue of sun☀️ god here inside as well. Loved the experience ❤
Ankush M — Google review
The overall place was great As It is abundant there is literally no one there you don't event have to park your car in parking just go with your car to direct spot Overall place was great but many people have ruined it by writing there names and all all over this place There is ghat in the river there also a lot of vegetation has grown and too much trash But overall good Surya mandir is also there inside the palace There are 3 places as main attraction 1.the palace(there's a Surya mandir inside it) 2.the abundant school-like structure 3.the ghat on the river There is also a small structure around Overall the whole place was filled with greenery
Aniket P — Google review
Amazing place, if authorities intervene they can open it for public. Can only wonder what a fabulous view the upstairs must have
Abhishek B — Google review
An absolutely unkempt and dilapidated place... they xould develop this place in to a tourist attraction. It's clean because people don't come here. The palace is open only for Surya temple. Rest is all closed. Found a good spot to dip feet in cool and importantly CLEAN waters of Shipra river behind the palace. All ghats are otherwise really dirty. Once again I prayed to gods to teach cleanliness and civic sense to my people.
Sulbha L — Google review
Nice place to visit with friends and family. Seems a perfect location for picnic and all, but needs proper renovation and maintenance. Otherwise it's really very beautiful place. The Kaliyadeh Palace is the famous historical landmark of Ujjain, on the banks of the river Shipra.
Puja B — Google review
Kaliyadeh Palace is a serene and beautiful spot by the Shipra river with stunning old domes and arches. I visited with someone special, so it now holds close memories for me. The place is peaceful and great for photography, but sadly not well maintained—parts are in ruins and facilities are limited. Still, its charm and calm surroundings make it worth a visit in Ujjain.

If your want Puja for Mangal Dosh, it's done here only on Tuesday. On the first floor, the puja and havan is done and offering is done on Second floor. You can simply visit the temple and pay your visit. But for puja, one needs to have a receipt made. Don't search for Mangalnath Mandir on Google. It will direct to you to some different place if you are looking for Mangal Dosh puja.
Neha T — Google review
I visited this mandir on 23rd of june. At that time there is renovation work is going on. I visited this place while i was going to mahakaleshwar jyotirlinga. As per pundit this is the centre of India and this is the birth place of Mangal dev who is also known as mangla garah or mars planet. Mangal dosh can be removed by worshipping here. From main gat to front of the mandir is clean, but when you came from other side to front there is rocks and palette which can poke or hurt your foot. In mandir ther is 4 or 5 place of worship or say pundits are sitting, in which shiva linga, Mangal bhagwan, Hanuman bhagwan etc. Can be worshipped and on all places there is pandit who is mantra chanting while you go there. Outside it there is shops of parshad and flowers and other things. They have settings with auto drivers and auto drivers took you to them as they got there commissions for it. And they are selling things in basket set and they are not giving you one or 2 thing by saying no in this mandir all these things required. Aside of it there is river.
Sahil K — Google review
It's a very good place to get blessings and make sure to visit nearby places like.. Sandipani Ashram and vishnu sagar. Temple management and Ujjain development authority should focus on cleaning the water which is getting bad day by day as cleaning process is not to be seen but people are dumping pooja leftovers there..

Initially I don't believe in traditional rituals, but later in life I realize the importance of such things. I got to know about this website during a google-search. It is a very informative website. Later, we contacted Pandit Vijay Bharti Ji, to discuss about the Kundli matching and Mangal Dosh Shanti Pujan. He also performed the Puja for us, and now we realize the effects of such pooja. Our life seems more shorted after that puja. Thus, to all non-believers, I would like to suggest that try our traditional rituals once from the right person, and see the difference by yourself.
Nidhi K — Google review
"You believe, or can't believe, it doesn't matter. You will have to go through it." That was the exact words of my father. And, now I am admitting that he was right. By birth chart I am Mangalik. However, like many others of my generation, I did not believe in tantra mantra. However, now I am a believer. Moreover, after the Pooja process, I realized many changes. I know, I sound stupid. But, after going through many experiences, I am writing my opinion. May be, my experience will help you to convince your son or daughter of my age or younger...

After 3 years of Bhaat Pujan, I am feeling much relaxed, and life is going smooth now. Thus, I would like to thank Pandit Vijay Bharti Ji, for his efforts and blessings. Dhanyawad!
Kavya A — Google review
Recently got a chance to meet Pandit Vijay Bharti Ji. Obviously, the reason is Mangal Dosh. Moreover, under the guidance of Pandit Ji, I performed the Bhat Puja, and now I am experiencing the changes. Disclaimer: I was a non-believer. However, after going through many challenges, and their traditional remedies, now I started believing.

Nestled in the heart of Ujjain, the Shri Kaal Bhairav Temple stands as a vibrant testament to Hindu devotion and culture. This sacred site is dedicated to Lord Kaal Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva and revered as the city's guardian deity. A unique aspect of this temple is its ritualistic offering of liquor, symbolizing devotees' surrendering of their vices to the divine.
Kaal Bhairav Mandir, Ujjain – A powerful and unique temple where devotees offer liquor to Lord Kaal Bhairav. The atmosphere is deeply spiritual and energetic. It can get crowded, especially on weekends and festivals, and cleanliness around the temple could be better. Still, it’s a must-visit for its rare traditions and divine experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Rajashree G — Google review
Mandir is a very divine and peaceful place. The temple was clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere for devotees. The darshan was quick and well-organized, allowing everyone to have a good spiritual experience. Overall, it was a satisfying and holy visit.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Kal Bhairav, the fierce form of Lord Shiva, and the atmosphere here is filled with devotion and reverence. I was amazed to see the rituals, the offerings, and the deep faith of devotees. Despite the crowd, everything was well-organized, and the local priests were kind enough to explain the significance of the traditions. There’s a strong vibration of protection and strength in this place it’s unlike any other temple I’ve visited. I left feeling spiritually charged and peaceful at the same time. If you’re visiting Ujjain, don’t miss this temple. It’s a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the divine power and mystery of Lord Kal Bhairav. 🙏 Jai Kal Bhairav 🙏

Visiting Shree Kal Bhairav Temple was one of the most powerful and unforgettable spiritual experiences of my life. The temple, dedicated to **Lord Kal Bhairav**, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, holds immense religious significance and deep mystical energy. As soon as I entered the temple premises, I could feel a strong sense of devotion and divine presence. The rhythmic chants of “Jai Kal Bhairav” and the fragrance of incense created an atmosphere filled with energy and peace. The main idol of Lord Kal Bhairav, decorated with flowers and sacred offerings, looked truly divine and awe-inspiring. One of the unique aspects of this temple is the tradition of offering **liquor** to Lord Kal Bhairav as *prasadam*. It’s said that the liquor disappears mysteriously when offered to the deity — a sight that fills devotees with wonder and faith. Witnessing this ritual was a fascinating experience that reflected the temple’s deep spiritual heritage. The priests and devotees were very humble and welcoming. Despite the temple being crowded, the atmosphere remained calm and devotional. I spent some time sitting quietly, feeling the powerful vibrations of the place. It gave me a sense of inner strength and peace, as if Lord Kal Bhairav himself was watching over and protecting me. Overall, my visit to Shree Kal Bhairav Temple was truly divine a perfect blend of mystery, faith, and spirituality. It’s not just a temple; it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Spiritual place, Kal Bhairavnath Temple Kal Bhairavnath Temple is a truly spiritual place where one can feel instant peace and positivity. Sukh, shanti, and divine energy – everything is here. The atmosphere is calm, the surroundings are clean, and the vibrations are very powerful for those who come with faith and devotion. Darshan can take time, especially on weekends. On Saturday and Sunday, the waiting time can easily go up to around 2 hours due to the heavy crowd. However, the experience of finally getting Darshan of Kal Bhairavnath feels absolutely worth the wait. If possible, try to visit on weekdays or during non-peak hours to get a more relaxed and peaceful Darshan without too much rush. Overall, a must-visit temple for anyone seeking inner peace, blessings, and a strong spiritual connectio

I just went to the Kal Bhairav Temple. The Kal Bhairav Temple is one of Ujjain's most powerful and mystical temples, dedicated to Lord Kal Bhairav, the fierce form of Lord Shiva. The atmosphere here is deeply spiritual and energetic. The temple is especially famous for its unique offering – liquor – which devotees traditionally offer to the deity. The temple's architecture is simple yet ancient, and you can see glimpses of history in every stone. The priests perform the rituals with great devotion, and despite the heavy crowds (especially on weekends and Mahashivratri), here Come in the morning or evening for a peaceful darshan. The darshan experience is very satisfying. The surroundings are well-maintained, although parking can be a bit difficult during rush hours. The local market outside sells religious items, prasad, and souvenirs.
Nitin S — Google review
The Shri Kala Bhairav Mandir in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, is one of the most mysterious and powerful temples in India, dedicated to Lord Kala Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. One of the most unique and intriguing aspects of this temple is the offering of liquor (Madira) to Lord Kala Bhairav. Devotees offer liquor directly to the deity, and astonishingly, it is believed that the idol “drinks” it — the liquid seemingly disappears when poured on its lips. This practice has been followed for centuries and continues to be a divine mystery that draws thousands of curious pilgrims and researchers alike. The temple holds immense religious and tantric significance and is considered a guardian shrine of Ujjain, one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism. According to ancient scriptures like the Shiva Purana and Avanti Khanda of Skanda Purana, Lord Shiva created Kala Bhairav to destroy ego and punish wrongdoers. When Lord Brahma grew arrogant, Shiva manifested as Bhairava and cut off one of Brahma’s five heads, symbolizing the destruction of pride. Since then, Bhairava has been worshipped as the Kshetrapal (protector) of Ujjain. Every temple in Ujjain is traditionally believed to be under the protection of one of the eight Bhairavas, with Kala Bhairav being the chief among them. The temple’s origins trace back to the Paramara dynasty, around the 8th century CE, and it is believed to have been built by King Bhadresen. Though the original temple has faced destruction and renovations over time, the present structure stands as a blend of Maratha and medieval architecture. The current temple was significantly renovated during the 18th century under Maratha rule, especially by the Scindias, who were ardent devotees of Lord Bhairav. The temple’s idol, carved from a single stone, displays a fearsome expression symbolizing the Lord’s power to destroy evil and grant protection. Despite his fierce form, devotees worship him with deep devotion, seeking his blessings for courage, justice, and the removal of negativity. The Shri Kala Bhairav Mandir comes alive during Kala Bhairav Ashtami, when thousands of devotees gather for special rituals and offerings. The temple remains a profound center of faith and mysticism, symbolizing Lord Shiva’s aspect as the eternal guardian of time and righteousness. Temple Timings: • Morning: 5:00 AM – 12:00 PM • Evening: 4:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Shri Kal Bhairav Mandir in Ujjain is a deeply spiritual and powerful place, known for its unique rituals and divine energy. The temple has an intense aura that immediately captures your attention, especially with the offering of liquor to Lord Bhairav — a tradition found nowhere else. The atmosphere is both mystical and devotional, and the architecture reflects ancient craftsmanship. However, the temple can get quite crowded, and cleanliness around the premises could be improved. Overall, it’s a must-visit for those seeking a spiritual experience with a touch of mystery.

The ancient cave structure stands as a testament to the lives of people in the past, before the development of modern construction technologies. Under what circumstances did one of the great emperors encounter Saint Goraknath, receive his blessings, and learn valuable lessons about the superiority of a yogi's power, which encompasses the ability to both kill and give life, unlike the limitations of a king's authority?

It’s an uplifting experience for devotees and visitors alike, offering peace, devotion, and a true essence of Ujjain’s spiritual charm.

a must-visit when you're in ujjain. the ghat is spacious and has a calm vibe. we went both in the morning and evening, and surprisingly it was not too crowded even though it was a weekend. if you're planning to take a dip, morning is the best time. it is quiet and relaxing but the water isn’t very clean, so go in with that awareness. we also attended the evening aarti, which was quite immersive. i would definitely recommend just sitting by the river for a while. it is the kind of place where you can slow down and really feel the energy of mahakal.

Ram Ghat in Ujjain is one of the most sacred and peaceful places situated on the banks of the holy river Kshipra. It is especially famous as the main ghat where devotees take a holy dip, particularly during the Kumbh Mela. The atmosphere here is divine, with continuous chanting of mantras, the sound of temple bells, and the sight of sadhus performing rituals. The evening aarti at Ram Ghat is a mesmerizing experience—thousands of diyas lit up along the river create a truly spiritual ambiance. It is well maintained compared to other ghats, and devotees feel a deep sense of positivity and calmness. A must-visit spot for anyone coming to Ujjain for spiritual and cultural experiences.

The administration should make better arrangements to handle the large number of devotees. The outer pathways are poorly maintained, and there is garbage in the holy water, which affects the sanctity of the place.

The peaceful atmosphere, the sound of temple bells, and the river’s calm flow make it a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection. Whether you’re visiting for religious purposes or just to soak in the beauty of the surroundings, Ram Ghat offers a blend of divinity and tranquility. The Shree Harsiddhi Shaktipith Temple, located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, is one of the 51 sacred Shaktipithas of Goddess Shakti and a major pilgrimage center for devotees of the Divine Mother. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Harsiddhi Mata, a powerful form of Goddess Parvati, and holds deep spiritual importance in Hinduism, symbolizing divine energy, victory, and protection. According to ancient legend, the temple’s origins trace back to the Shakti Peetha myth from the Devi Bhagavata Purana. When Sati, the consort of Lord Shiva, immolated herself at her father Daksha’s yagna, an enraged Shiva carried her body and performed the Tandava, the dance of destruction. To pacify him, Lord Vishnu released his Sudarshan Chakra, cutting Sati’s body into 51 pieces, which fell across various parts of India — each spot becoming a sacred Shakti Peetha. It is believed that Sati’s elbow (or upper arm) fell at Ujjain, sanctifying the site as the Harsiddhi Shaktipith. In this temple, Goddess Harsiddhi is worshipped along with Mahakali and Mahalakshmi, symbolizing strength, wealth, and wisdom — the three essential powers of the Goddess. The main deity, Harsiddhi Mata, is depicted in a dark vermilion-colored idol, signifying her fierce and protective nature. The Harsiddhi Temple also holds a strong association with Lord Shiva. According to another legend, when Lord Shiva was destroying demons, he sought help from Goddess Parvati. She appeared as Harsiddhi Mata and helped him defeat the powerful demon brothers Chanda and Munda, earning the name “Harsiddhi” — meaning “the one who grants all siddhis (powers) and success.” Hence, this temple stands as a symbol of divine victory and protection. The temple’s architecture reflects Maratha influence, with the current structure believed to have been renovated during the reign of Maratha ruler Ranoji Shinde in the 18th century. Two majestic deep stambhs (lamp towers) stand at the temple’s entrance, beautifully lit with hundreds of lamps during Navratri, creating a mesmerizing sight. Harsiddhi Mata is considered the Kuldevi (family goddess) of the Scindia royal family, who contributed to the temple’s maintenance and grandeur. The temple is also closely connected to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, located nearby, forming part of the sacred spiritual circuit of Ujjain. Today, the Shree Harsiddhi Shaktipith Temple continues to be a center of immense devotion, where thousands of devotees visit daily to seek the Goddess’s blessings for strength, prosperity, and victory over life’s challenges. Temple Timings: • Morning: 5:00 AM – 12:00 PM • Evening: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The Harsiddhi Temple in Ujjain is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where the elbow of Goddess Sati is believed to have fallen. This temple is also known as the place of penance of King Vikramaditya and is named "Harsiddhi” because he attained many siddhis through the worship of the Mother Goddess. The temple houses idols of three goddesses: Annapurna, Harsiddhi and Kalka. There is a huge and famous Deep Stambh built in the courtyard of the temple, on which lamps are lit during Navratri and other special occasions.

Witnessed the traditional lighting of oil lamps at Shree Harsiddhi Mata Temple in Ujjain. At the entrance of the temple are two large lamp towers with hundreds of lamps. At around 6:30 pm every evening these lamps are lit by temple staff. They climb up the oily lamp tower and all these lamps are lit within around 3 minutes. Must be some sort of a record. The place is next to Ujjain Mahakaal temple and gets crowded around 30 minutes before the start of the event, as it is very popular among tourist who visit Ujain. Around 1 minute 20 seconds into the video, you will notice how fast the staff is lighting up the oil lamps. Remember the temple itself is many centuries old and its history is linked to Emperor Vikramaditya. The oil tower is itself slippery because of all the oil.

As the name suggests itself "Chaubis Khanba" means 24 pillars. I visited the temple with high expectations, however to be honest I was let down a bit. Not well organised it's barely even a temple to be honest. And it's not even like there are 24 pillars in one row decorated beautifully, instead it's almost like a left over ruins of an old architecture, some pillars over here and there and barely noticeable. A one time visit place that's all in my honest opinion. The front gate is still a bit attractive and beautiful for consideration. I would still certainly appreciate the peace and the naturality of the place. No beggars in front or at the corners. The place is very tidy as well and almost no crowd at all. All in all: 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐

Very good scenes in this place. I was very delighted to see the view here. Here the traditional clock and time which has been in existence since the Vedic period is known with complete accuracy. Please come here once with your family.
Prince S — Google review
If you are planning to visit Jantar Mantar (Vedh Shala) after Mahakaleshwar Darshan, it is quite convenient because the observatory is located at a short distance from the temple. After completing your darshan at Mahakaal, you can simply take an auto-rickshaw from outside the temple premises. Normally, the distance is around 2 km, and it hardly takes 10–15 minutes to reach, but autos in Ujjain generally charge a minimum of ₹100, even for short distances. If you are walking, it will take about 20–25 minutes through the narrow streets. The Jantar Mantar is open during the day and is managed by the Archaeological Survey of India. The entry fee is very nominal, usually around ₹10 for Indian visitors and a little more for foreign tourists and ₹ 20 for Tara Mandal. Once inside, you can explore the unique astronomical instruments built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 17th century. Guides are also available, and they explain how these instruments were used to calculate time, predict eclipses, and study planetary movements with surprising accuracy long before modern technology. For travelers who are already in Ujjain for Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Darshan, a visit to Jantar Mantar makes the trip more fulfilling, as it connects spirituality with India’s scientific heritage. Since both attractions are close, you don’t need separate travel arrangements

Infrastructure is good, Library with lots of books are available , computer lab as well as all the labs for every stream with full equipped with new instrument is present . Faculty and college staffs are good in nature, they guide and advice in time of need. College is good for engineering aspirant.

Since the foundation, this college has consistently zero percentage placement record till now. No lab facility. No Events . No hackathons . No celebration. One can easily score higher credits in degree by being a puppet of temporary worthless faculty and support their petty agendas. (Teacher of Mathematics are adept, but core engineering subject teacher will talk politics and ask you to attend class so they can get their Payrolls.) All the excellent reviews are from either faculty member or from some students who still want to get good grades from faculty in mid-sem and practical. In this college, faculty and peon have the same knowledge and standard. Peon too can talk politics and teach the subject by narrating what written in books.

In context of learning this institute fail the providing tha facility. Politics are attached more day by day It's become downword. Not a single permanent faculty teach here. Students attract the name of University but after joining the course they faced challenges regarding the study. Zero placement and no lab (at all). I repeat no lab !!! (Only theoretical study) takes place here) . 3 stars for office staff & decent teachers (who are temporary) Easy exams, one can get good marks with less study, but you need to have> 80% attendence then you can get good internal and mid sem marks. In the name of engineering .. Students are cheated .. No labs no single labs no placement. No permanent faculties .. No discipline

Anything that is slightly outside of the city, has a vibe of its own. A serene temple on a slightly elevated area. If you are using battery rickshaw, then you will have to climb the hilly road which is about 200-300m only. I found the view of the city to be nice and peaceful as compared to other temples in the city.

The Temple Committee has done a great job. The Temple is well maintained and has been made it easier for the darshan. A devotee must visit and get blessings of Mata Ji. If you do not like crowds then avoid visiting on Navratri. Otherwise the waiting time is not that high.

Great pilgrimage place. One of the oldest temple of Indore. One must visit this place. A lot of snacks shops also available at the way so in case you feel hungry, that's shouldn't be an issue here. Also for people and senior citizens who have problems in walking, don't worry, you can take car and park at a point which is present 100m before the temple, just remember you've to talk to the concerned authorities / security guard present at the entry gate. They've also added water jet along the temple path which in fact attracts more people, so overall a nice place to go over weekends l.

Holkar Stadium, a gem in Indore, is renowned for its remarkable record of hosting Team India without a single loss. This venue has witnessed unforgettable moments in cricket history, including five One Day Internationals and two Test matches. The stadium, originally named Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground, was renamed to honor the Holkar dynasty that once ruled the region.
*A Fantastic Experience at Holkar Stadium!* I recently had the opportunity to watch the thrilling match between Australia and New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The stadium's electric atmosphere was palpable, with a crowd that was evenly split in their support for both teams. *Match Highlights* The match itself was a nail-biter, with Australia posting a formidable total of 326 runs, thanks to Ashleigh Gardner's record-breaking century (115 off 83 balls) - the highest score by a number 6 batsman in Women's ODI World Cup history. New Zealand's chase was valiant, but ultimately fell short, with Sophie Devine's century (112 off 111 balls) not enough to secure a win. *Stadium Experience* The Holkar Stadium itself was impressive, with excellent facilities and a great viewing experience. The pitch offered good pace and bounce, making it exciting for both batters and bowlers. The weather was perfect, with moderate humidity and no interruptions. *Overall* If you're a cricket fan, I highly recommend catching a match at the Holkar Stadium. The energy of the crowd, combined with the high-quality cricket, makes for an unforgettable experience. Kudos to the stadium management for creating such an incredible atmosphere !
Jaisingh Y — Google review
Visited Holkar Stadium, Indore in March 2023 during the India vs Australia Test match, and it was an exciting experience overall. The ground is relatively small, which adds to the thrill — boundaries come easily, making it a high-scoring and entertaining game to watch live. However, the stadium facilities could be better. There was no music system or DJ, which made the atmosphere feel a bit dull compared to other major stadiums. Some improvement in crowd engagement and overall vibe would really enhance the match-day experience. Still, if you’re a cricket lover, it’s a good place to catch a match — just don’t expect a high-energy stadium ambiance.
BeingYourself — Google review
Holkar Stadium in Indore is one of the best cricket stadiums in India, known for its great atmosphere and exciting matches. The stadium is not very large, but that actually makes it special because every seat gives a clear and close view of the field. The crowd energy here is amazing, especially when India is playing. The facilities are well-maintained, and the cleanliness inside the stadium is usually very good. The sound system and big screens also help you enjoy every moment of the game. The staff members are friendly and helpful, and the entry process is usually smooth if you come on time. However, there are also a few negative points. During big matches, parking becomes a serious problem as the roads around the stadium get very crowded. Food and water inside are quite expensive compared to outside rates. Sometimes the seating area feels cramped, especially in the lower stands. Also, mobile networks often get weak during full-house matches. Overall, Holkar Stadium is a wonderful place for cricket lovers. It provides a lively experience and makes you feel proud of Indore, though it could improve crowd and parking management.

Echoes of Time — Rajwada, Indore By Musafir Nama (@Rana’s Photography) Indore wasn’t just another stop on my official trip — it turned into a walk through history. Before heading back to Delhi, my curiosity led me to the heart of the city — Rajwada Palace, a place where every arch and corridor whispers stories of the Holkar dynasty. As I stepped inside, the air felt different — heavy with heritage, yet peaceful. The long corridors echoed with the footsteps of the past. The stone arches stood tall, as if still guarding the royal memories etched in them. Each turn revealed symmetry, strength, and silence — a reminder of India’s architectural brilliance. Descending the narrow stone staircase felt like entering another era — dimly lit, mysterious, timeless. And when I finally stood in the courtyard, looking at the magnificent façade, I could almost imagine the royal gatherings that once filled this space with life and laughter. Travel isn’t always about distance — sometimes it’s about depth. Rajwada Palace, Indore – A Grand Portal to the Rich Legacy of the Holkars Visiting Rajwada Palace in Indore is like stepping back in time to an era of royalty, artistry, and cultural grandeur. Built by the Holkar dynasty around 1747 AD under Malhar Rao Holkar, the palace stands as one of Indore’s most iconic landmarks. 🏛️ Architecture & Design The palace is a magnificent seven-storied structure — the lower three floors made of stone and the upper floors crafted in wood. This blend of materials gives it a unique charm while showcasing traditional Maratha, Mughal, and French architectural influences. The grand arched gateway, beautifully carved balconies, jharokhas, and large wooden doors add to its royal aura. 🔥 History & Restoration Rajwada has witnessed multiple fires over centuries, the most severe during the 1984 riots, which damaged many wooden sections. It was lovingly restored in the 2000s under Maharani Usha Devi Holkar, staying true to the original style using traditional materials. The gardens, fountains, and statues of Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar now make the palace surroundings even more inviting. 👀 What to See & Do Inside, the small museum displays royal artefacts, weapons, paintings, and heritage items from the Holkar era. The Darbar Hall and Ganesha Hall sometimes host cultural programs and exhibitions. Constructed in 1904 by the acclaimed architect Charles Frederick Stevens from Mumbai, Gandhi Hall was initially named King Edward Hall. In 1905, the grand opening of the hall was officiated by George V, the Prince of Wales, with a total cost amounting to ₹2,50,000. The architectural style is Indo-Gothic, featuring white stones from Seoni and red stones from Patan, both in Madhya Pradesh. In 1948, H. H. Yeshwant Rao Holkar II renamed the hall as Gandhi Hall in honor of Mahatma Gandhi after a gap of 50 years. The recent renovation under the ‘Smart City Indore’ project in 2021 restored the hall to its original grandeur. The interiors now boast marble flooring, a wooden stage, captivating paintings on the walls, and a meticulously restored clock tower.

The ambiance is pleasant, and the staff are helpful and courteous. It’s a great spot to shop, dine, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Treasure Island Mall is a decent spot if you're looking for a quick shopping spree or a casual hangout. The mall offers a good variety of brands, and the food court has multiple options to satisfy your cravings. It's centrally located, which makes it easy to access. One nice feature is the game zone for kids — it’s a good place to keep the little ones entertained while you shop or relax. It’s not very large, but it has enough games and activities to keep kids happy for a while. However, the mall feels a bit cramped on weekends, and the parking situation can get frustrating. Some areas could definitely use better maintenance, and a few shops remain empty, which dulls the overall vibe. It’s a good place for a casual visit, but don’t expect a luxurious or very vibrant experience.
Hershit G — Google review
Nice mall with adequate parking place & other required facilities, automation and nature friendly precautions followed at every end. Need more food courts with better serving capacity. Allover look of the mall is good, you can refresh here with your family and shopping as per your requirements. Some unique collections are available here.

Treasure Island Mall in Indore is a great place to spend a few hours, whether you’re shopping, catching a movie, or just hanging out. The mall has a good variety of brands — from fashion to electronics — and the layout is pretty easy to navigate. The ambience is clean, modern, and well-maintained, which makes the overall experience pleasant. The food court has plenty of options, though it does get crowded during peak hours. Parking is convenient but can be a bit tight on weekends. One thing I really liked was the overall vibe — it feels lively without being too overwhelming. Overall, a solid shopping experience and definitely one of Indore’s better malls. Could improve crowd management and seating areas, but still worth visiting!

Went at 20:44 hrs on 21st Oct'25. At basement car park the counter person said fast tag not working. Asked to pay Rs 30 for parking. Paid and got reciept. At exit one attendant asked for parking payment proof and after seeing the reciept kept it with himself. Later on checked my sms an amount of Rs 50/- was deducted from my fasttag. Either mall doing scam or staff. The staff clearly said that fast tag is not working.

Kanch Mandir, also known as the Temple of Glass, is a Jain temple in Indore, India. Built by Seth Hukumchand in 1903, this lavish temple is entirely covered in glass panels and mosaic artwork. The interiors are adorned with intricate glass mosaics, chandeliers, and an onyx statue of Mahavira.
Kanch Mandir is truly mesmerizing with its intricate mirror art, creating a stunning visual experience. It’s a Jain temple, so followers come here to pray and perform pooja. Be respectful and avoid interfering with their prayers—keep your phone on DND and no photography allowed in side the temple. It’s a place best experienced in person, where the beauty of the mirrors should be seen with your own eyes. Persons from all over India as well as foreign Tourist come to see this temple. Very beautiful temple and famous in Jain's Community.

I recently got a chance to revisit Kaanch Mandir on the auspicious occasion of Dhoop Dashmi, and it was an absolutely divine experience. The temple, made entirely of glass and mirrors, looks stunning on any day but on Dhoop Dashmi, with beautifully crafted Mandal Ji, its beauty and spiritual glow were truly beyond words. The temple is located in the main market area, so I’d recommend visiting by public transport or two-wheeler for convenience, as parking space is limited. If you’re in Indore, this sacred place is a must-visit - the artistry here is truly a masterpiece. – Muskan 🙏

This stunning Kanch Mahal Jain Temple, dedicated to Bhagwan Mahaveer, is a true marvel of artistry and devotion. Every inch of its walls glitters with mirror inlay, glass mosaics, and hand-painted depictions of Jain stories. The intricate craftsmanship reflects both spiritual depth and aesthetic brilliance. Standing inside, surrounded by light and reflection, you feel an aura of peace, divinity, and timeless heritage. A sacred place where devotion meets dazzling design — truly an unforgettable experience.

A beautiful temple which is a must see to admire how beautiful glass work is used to make this. They don't allow photography in to maintain the decorum of the place. They are very strict about it too.
Maleeva R — Google review
This early 20th-century Jain marvel is an architectural feast, with literally every surface—walls, floor, ceiling, and pillars—covered in intricate glass and mirror mosaics. Step inside, and the reflections create a breathtaking illusion of infinite idols! Be prepared, though: while the artistry is stunning, the place is showing its age and could use better maintenance. Also, don't be surprised if the security staff seems a bit curt. Regardless, this shimmering wonder is a must-see for its truly unique beauty!

I'm surprised ans shocked how come others have clicked so many pictures 😞🥲 while we abided by the laws. Clicking inside pics wasn't allowed so we did not. It's beautiful😍✨❤ marvelous and gorgeous. It is 110 years old Jain mandir belonging to Digamber jain sect. Totally made of glass. Photography inside the temple is not permitted. Timing from 10.30am to 5PM. No entry fee. Inside there are deities of Shanti Nath jain, Digambar Jain. Located in the market area. Peaceful.

One of the best kaanch ka temple i have ever seen. Kaach Mandir is a stunning Jain temple near Dhanvantri Mandir, beautifully adorned with glasswork and mirrors. Lal Bagh Palace

Historical place museum
Sights & Landmarks
Lal Bagh Palace, a lavish 19th-century mansion of the Holkar dynasty, showcases a blend of baroque, rococo, and neoclassical architectural styles. This three-story palace has been transformed into a grand museum featuring Italian and Indian paintings, exquisite chandeliers, and furnishings reflecting early Georgian and late Persian designs. Spanning across 28 hectares of land, it stands as a testament to the opulence and culture of the Maratha kingdom.
Very great palace to know about the Holkars dynasty. The architecture was mix of European and Indian mix. The interiors are very posh and royal, however there were renovations going on in the palace. Once it is complete, I am sure it would be a must visit place in Indore. The entry ticket for adults is Rs. 50 and for kids it is free entry. Ample parking space and good greenery around the palace.
Vishnu C — Google review
My experience was quite good, but to get there you first need to bargain with the auto drivers. They will ask for ₹100, but you should only give them ₹20. They will tell you that the gate charges parking fees, but in reality, the parking is only ₹10. The place is not very far from the gate, so you can also go by walking. As for inside, you won’t find drinking water there, so it’s better to carry your own water bottle. The entry ticket is just ₹20. There isn’t much special inside the palace. However, it’s a nice place for couples—it’s peaceful, surrounded by forest, and you can sit quietly and talk. But if you are going with your family, then you won’t really find it that enjoyable.
RAVI K — Google review
Lal Bagh Palace is one of the most fascinating heritage gems in Indore, and my visit here was an unexpectedly rich experience. The moment you step inside the massive iron gates, imported from London and said to be inspired by those of Buckingham Palace, you instantly feel the grandeur of the Holkar era. The palace was built in phases between 1886 and 1921 by the Holkar rulers, mainly by Tukoji Rao Holkar II and III, and it served as one of their important residences. Knowing that you are walking through the same corridors where the Holkar royal family lived makes the visit even more special. The interiors are the real showstopper. The palace has a strong European architectural influence, especially Italian and French styles. The grand ballroom, with its large Belgian mirrors and ornate decorations, is absolutely breathtaking. One interesting fact I loved learning about is that the ballroom’s floor was designed with springs inside so that it would vibrate with the rhythm of the music during royal dances something truly ahead of its time. Another surprising feature is the European-style elevator, which was installed more than a century ago! Seeing such engineering in a palace of that era is genuinely impressive. The walls, furniture, chandeliers, and artwork, all reflect the luxurious lifestyle of the Holkars. Every room seems to preserve a piece of history. The palace also sits on a beautiful 28-acre estate, and although some areas outside could use better maintenance, the overall charm is still intact. The museum section displays old photographs, royal artifacts, weapons, and personal belongings that give insight into the Holkar dynasty’s cultural legacy. What I personally found most interesting is that Lal Bagh Palace used to host major diplomatic and royal gathering, it wasn’t just a residence but a symbol of Indore’s power, culture, and openness to global influences.
Hemendra D — Google review
This is a grand palace with a lot of European architectural influence. But it has its own pros and cons. Pros: Beautiful architecture and high ceilings (I really like buildings with high ceilings). Massive garden area in the premises. And since Indore doesn’t have a lot to offer, you can visit this to pass time. Cons: It’s under renovation for restoration work. Most of the palace is inaccessible. There is not much to see with what is accessible. If you have visited a lot of museums and palaces, you won’t enjoy it at all. Ticket price is only Rs 20 pp.
A K — Google review
I am disappointed and feeling cheated. The Lalbagh Palace is under renovation but they didn't tell me this before I bought the high priced ticket (400) for foreigners. Only a few ground floor rooms are accessible, other ones are closed. The garden is poorly maintained and littered, the toilet is broken and dirty. When I asked why the renovation wasn't mentioned, they said it is written. Yes, in Hindi. Why they couldn't write that two words: "Under renovation" in English? Waste of money and time. This high entry fees for foreigners, the constant discrimination, will not develop the international tourism.
Eva M — Google review
Lalbagh Palace at Indore was built by the Holkar Dynasty. The Holkars resided in the palace up to 1978. After the demise of Tukojirao Holkar(III), his granddaughter Usha Raje set up a trust to look after the estate. Later, it was brought under the control of State Government. It is a lovely palace to visit and has some beautifully decorated rooms which are very similar in architecture to what you see in Windsor palace. So whenever you are planning a trip to Indore, do visit this iconic Palace, and fall in love with its wonderful architecture. Owing to its real royal feel, Lal Bagh Palace has remained one of the favourite Bollywood shooting location. Many movies like Kalank, Singh Saab the Great and Mahal (Tamil Movie) have been shot in the palace. Date visited : 22.10.2025

Shri Annapurna Temple Indore

Mentioned on

Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
The Annapurna Temple is an ornate Hindu temple in Indore, India dedicated to the goddess of food, Annapurna. Thousands of pilgrims and tourists visit this shrine every year, drawn by its imposing facade and gilded gate.
This temple is dedicated to Maa Annapurna and stands out for its stunning architecture and serene atmosphere. The structure is single-leveled, but its beauty lies in the intricate details that adorn every part of it. The temple is supported by numerous finely carved pillars, each featuring beautiful architectural engravings that reflect traditional craftsmanship. Constructed entirely with white marble, the temple walls, pillars, and boundary are adorned with delicate carvings of various gods and goddesses, especially from the Malwa region’s artistic style. At the heart of the temple resides the deity of Maa Annapurna. The inner sanctum offers a peaceful and calming environment, making it an ideal place for meditation or quiet reflection. The marble flooring adds to the soothing vibe, encouraging visitors to sit and absorb the divine energy of the space. From the outside, the temple is equally captivating. Especially during the evening, it is beautifully illuminated with white and blue lighting that gives the entire structure a divine and ethereal glow. The temple is not just visually impressive, but also thoughtfully designed for visitor comfort. A dedicated footwear stand is available to the left of the entrance for safekeeping. Within the same temple complex, there are several smaller shrines, including one dedicated to Lord Shiva. I also noticed a covered well, suggesting that the temple has historical roots and has likely undergone renovations over time. Interestingly, the temple is usually not very crowded, which allows visitors to fully appreciate its spiritual and architectural charm in a calm and peaceful setting.

This mandir is absolutely stunning — the entire place is made of beautiful marble with intricate designs that make it look divine. The lighting, especially in the evening, adds a golden glow that makes the whole temple shine even more. The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual. They also serve free herbal tea, which is a lovely gesture and adds to the calm and welcoming experience. Definitely worth visiting for both the architecture and the serenity! 🙏

Dedicated to Goddess Annapurna, the goddess of food and nourishment, this temple attracts not only devotees but also tourists who wish to witness its unique charm. The temple is built in a way that beautifully combines spirituality with art, as its entrance resembles the grand style of South Indian temples.
