During the time of both Navaratris various activities like Bhagwat Ji and Kathas were organised by the trust run by the temple association. Once upon a time a great fair was organised here but after sometime that was stopped. Jyortirlinga Mahadev temple, Maa Vaishno Devi Cave, Maa Durga Statue (41 feet), Shri Hanuman Ji Statue (51 feet), and Maa Kaila Devi temple are the major attraction of this place.

I visited Khajrana Ganpati Temple on the weekend around 2 PM. The vibes of the temple were truly divine – Ganpati Bappa Morya! It was a little crowded at that time, but manageable. A beautiful temple which is a must see to admire how beautiful glass work is used to make this. They don't allow photography in to maintain the decorum of the place. They are very strict about it too.

It is 110 years old Jain mandir belonging to Digamber jain sect. Totally made of glass. Photography inside the temple is not permitted. Timing from 10.30am to 5PM. No entry fee. Inside there are deities of Shanti Nath jain, Digambar Jain. Located in the market area. Peaceful.

One of the best kaanch ka temple i have ever seen. Kaach Mandir is a stunning Jain temple near Dhanvantri Mandir, beautifully adorned with glasswork and mirrors. The vibrant designs and peaceful ambiance make it a serene and spiritual experience. It’s not crowded, and the caretakers are kind and informative. A must-visit for anyone in Ujjain! Note - TOURISTS ARE ALLOWED ONLY TILL 8 PM.

My experience was quite good, but to get there you first need to bargain with the auto drivers. They will ask for ₹100, but you should only give them ₹20. They will tell you that the gate charges parking fees, but in reality, the parking is only ₹10. The place is not very far from the gate, so you can also go by walking. As for inside, you won’t find drinking water there, so it’s better to carry your own water bottle. The entry ticket is just ₹20. There isn’t much special inside the palace. However, it’s a nice place for couples—it’s peaceful, surrounded by forest, and you can sit quietly and talk. But if you are going with your family, then you won’t really find it that enjoyable.

Lal Bagh Palace is one of the most fascinating heritage gems in Indore, and my visit here was an unexpectedly rich experience. The moment you step inside the massive iron gates, imported from London and said to be inspired by those of Buckingham Palace, you instantly feel the grandeur of the Holkar era. The palace was built in phases between 1886 and 1921 by the Holkar rulers, mainly by Tukoji Rao Holkar II and III, and it served as one of their important residences. Knowing that you are walking through the same corridors where the Holkar royal family lived makes the visit even more special. The interiors are the real showstopper. The palace has a strong European architectural influence, especially Italian and French styles. The grand ballroom, with its large Belgian mirrors and ornate decorations, is absolutely breathtaking. One interesting fact I loved learning about is that the ballroom’s floor was designed with springs inside so that it would vibrate with the rhythm of the music during royal dances something truly ahead of its time. Another surprising feature is the European-style elevator, which was installed more than a century ago! Seeing such engineering in a palace of that era is genuinely impressive. The walls, furniture, chandeliers, and artwork, all reflect the luxurious lifestyle of the Holkars. Every room seems to preserve a piece of history. The palace also sits on a beautiful 28-acre estate, and although some areas outside could use better maintenance, the overall charm is still intact. The museum section displays old photographs, royal artifacts, weapons, and personal belongings that give insight into the Holkar dynasty’s cultural legacy. What I personally found most interesting is that Lal Bagh Palace used to host major diplomatic and royal gathering, it wasn’t just a residence but a symbol of Indore’s power, culture, and openness to global influences.

This is a grand palace with a lot of European architectural influence. But it has its own pros and cons. Pros: Beautiful architecture and high ceilings (I really like buildings with high ceilings). Massive garden area in the premises. And since Indore doesn’t have a lot to offer, you can visit this to pass time. Cons: It’s under renovation for restoration work. Most of the palace is inaccessible. There is not much to see with what is accessible. If you have visited a lot of museums and palaces, you won’t enjoy it at all. Ticket price is only Rs 20 pp.

I am disappointed and feeling cheated. The Lalbagh Palace is under renovation but they didn't tell me this before I bought the high priced ticket (400) for foreigners. Only a few ground floor rooms are accessible, other ones are closed. The garden is poorly maintained and littered, the toilet is broken and dirty. When I asked why the renovation wasn't mentioned, they said it is written. Yes, in Hindi. Why they couldn't write that two words: "Under renovation" in English? Waste of money and time. This high entry fees for foreigners, the constant discrimination, will not develop the international tourism.

Lalbagh Palace at Indore was built by the Holkar Dynasty. The Holkars resided in the palace up to 1978. After the demise of Tukojirao Holkar(III), his granddaughter Usha Raje set up a trust to look after the estate. Later, it was brought under the control of State Government. It is a lovely palace to visit and has some beautifully decorated rooms which are very similar in architecture to what you see in Windsor palace. So whenever you are planning a trip to Indore, do visit this iconic Palace, and fall in love with its wonderful architecture. Owing to its real royal feel, Lal Bagh Palace has remained one of the favourite Bollywood shooting location. Many movies like Kalank, Singh Saab the Great and Mahal (Tamil Movie) have been shot in the palace. Date visited : 22.10.2025

Amazing Mandir. The Garb Gruh is on the ground floor and there's a Sabhamandap on the upper floor where Satsang sabha is there every Sunday evening. The campus also features a guesthouse, with 20 AC rooms for the convenience of travellers. There's also a Dining Hall within the Main building itself. Mandir is very nicely decorated with Parks around it. There's a well established community which attends the Sabha every weekend, and they are nice to talk to. Worth a visit

The falls do not allow you to travel to the bottom anymore so lost a lot of charm. You only get to see it from far and are surrounded by street vendors. There is not many covered spaces to hide from the sun. Hardly an adventure spot and definitely not an interesting tourist spot as it only has one thing to see.

It's a good picnic spot for indorians, but it's good until you keep your self safe. After rain the fall becomes attractive.Now a days so many shops are there to fulfill the needs of public travelling to it.

Amazing place for a short picnic. Few food stalls available but beware of monkeys. Amazing view points. Water flow was high in October 2025. I reached Mhow Railway and took a to and fro auto for 500 Rs. Do bargain. However if you have own vehicle its much easier.

It is a very picturesque spot, especially in monsoon when the water gushes down the 200-foot deep gorge. The view is very scenic when the sun sets. A good place for a nice trekking or camping activity also. People should rake efforts to keep the area clean. Beware of monkeys as they can be troublesome sometimes. Adequate parking space is available. It is also a historical spot to commemorate the heroics of Tantya Bheel against the British.

It's a beautiful place, lack of maintenance. Full of trash and junk. And I understand some people trying to make money out of visitors, with photographers set up and occupied all the spot and chats Dukan. They make the place miserable loud , noisy and dirty. It is a must visit. Light show is awesome. I don't think you can buy the ticket beforehand and even if you can, don't buy as there are chances that the show may get cancelled for various reasons.

Adjoining the famous Jahaj Mahal, Hindola Mahal forms Parrt of the heritage royal buildings complex in Mandu.This historical building has slanting outer walls at an angle of 77° and thus it presumably gives the look of a swing. Frankly I could not visualize it as a swing. That apart, the building looks beautiful. There are other buildings. The surrounding are very well maintained. Adjascent to Hindola Mahal, there are other smaller monuments worth seeing.

Hindola Mahal – meaning Swing palace is so named due to its sloping side walls. The Hindola Mahal might have been constructed during the reign of Hushang Shah about 1425 C.E. but may date to the end of the 15th century during the reign of Ghiyas al-Din. It is one of a set buildings making up the royal palace complex at Mandu, which consists of the Jahaz Mahal, the Hindola Mahal, the Taveli Mahal, and the Nahar Jharokha. The Hindola Mahal may have been used as an audience chamber.The plan of the Hindola Mahal is a T-shape, though examination of the exterior walls leads to the conclusion that the crossbar was added later. The vertical mast of the plan consists of one main hall measuring 30 by 18 metres (98 by 59 feet) and 12 metres (39 feet) high. Its lateral walls are 3 metres (9.8 feet) thick and further reinforced by massive inclined buttresses that angle over 77 degrees. These highly inclined buttresses give the Hindola Mahal (Swinging Palace) its name. They also neutralize the outward force of five massive arches that once supported the large flat roof of the main hall. On each exterior of the long sides of the main hall are six recessed arches which hold doors in their lower sections and three slabs of open-work stone windows to let in air and light. A high wall holds battlements on the roof of the building.

The entire fort complex within the Jahaj Mahal of mandu is steeped in history, it's not only absolutely stunning but also such an experience. Hindola Mahal is undergoing certain upkeep work and that's great, but the place itself is very beautiful, the architecture is to die for and the light and sound show at night is also projected here, such a great experience.

Hindola Mahal is Artistic, Beautiful Unique Structure ! Hindola Mahal Built by Hushang Shah, probably around A.D. 1425 as a Durbar hall. The walls are inordinately thick and slope like those of a castle. The slope of over 77 degrees gives a swinging appearance to the building, hence the name. The plan is 'T' shaped. The upright stem being the main hall (which was built first), and the cross bar is a transverse portion added later. The structure was probably supposed to have the zenana place as another storey above the main hall, which would explain the bulk and strength of the walls. Mandav (Mandu), near Indore Mandav is a beautiful historical village near Indore, filled with monuments from the Raja-Maharaja and Mughal eras. Nothing less than fascinating. The palace is in great condition, one can get transported back in time. The best part is superb maintenance of the monument - top notch cleanliness, manicured lawns, trimmed hedges, clean water bodies, beautiful trees, clean facilities. Reasonably priced good food is available in well maintained stalls outside the main gate. Parking is available.

Jahaj Mahal in Mandu is a very beautiful and well maintained site to visit over. Along with old forts and ponds...it has multiple locations to click lovely photos and frame. It is believed to be build for entertainment by the king to have good time in his haram. This is around 60 km from Indore in Mandu town. There are other monuments in town as well. It is maintained by ASI and have a fee of Rs 25 per person.

Mandav or Mandu in MP is a beautiful historic place on a hill top(2000') in between Ujjain(152 km) & Omkareswar(108 km) ruled by King Bhoj of Bhoopal, Baj Bahadur, Hosain Sah, Giasuddin Khalji of Afganisthan & so on. Jahaz Mohol, Hindola Mahal and surrounding lakes were strategically built with thethen splendid architectural pattern which are unique. Rupamati(singer queen of Baj Bahadur) mahal is also praiseworthy.

Beutifully carved and well maintained. It's just behind jami masjid and only small steps are provided through jami masjid for this place. So I have to look carefully otherwise I may miss this place. It resembles tajmahal. Architecture is like mixed hindu and Persian type. There are many small tombs inside.

Hoshang Shah’s Tomb is mainly known as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal, but beyond that there isn’t much to see. We ended up spending more time at the registration counter filling out the form and making the payment than inside the monument itself, where we were the only visitors.

Hoshang Shah's tomb is situated in the middle of the courtyard of the majestic mausoleum, surrounded by square-shaped walls. One can enter the mausoleum from the entrance gate, (which is built on a square plan with a marble dome) in the middle of the northern wall. The tomb of Hoshang shah is a grand construction, having a square plan and a dome. It is built on a basement of remarkable width and height. The entire building including the dome is covered in marble, providing majestic atmosphere. It is interesting to note that the main entrance and stairs are situated in the south side, the other side of the entrance to the courtyard. In the four corners of the domed roof, there are constructions with battlements and small domes. They are above the basements, which are built along with a dome. There are plant decorations　extending from the edge of the roof and the eaves. They are coloured in red and black, accenting the marble building. Hindu patterns can be observed in the decorations. Considering these and other patterns inside the tomb chamber, we can assume there was　involvement of Hindu workmen from the neighbouring towns.

The Roopmati Pavilion is a compact yet beautiful architectural marvel that offers spectacular panoramic views and a wonderful, cold breeze, making the sight of the Nimar Valley the clear highlight. However, while the structure is excellent, the small site can be explored in just 1 to 1.5 hours and the overall visitor experience is let down by poor amenities. Specifically, the lack of clear signs to explain the smaller historical areas, along with a noticeable absence of good drinking water and clean restroom facilities, detracts significantly from the visit. Despite these flaws, the breathtaking vista secures it a respectable 3.5/5 rating.

Nice, small fortress, with a nice early morning view. You can ask for a local guide for the history of the place. Access to the top is blocked, but the view from the accessible areas is also good. It is important to know the story of Baaz Bahadur and Roopmati to appreciate the place.

We visited Roopmati Mahal in Mandu during the last week of September in 2025. While the fort is old and there is nothing much to see there but the views of Vindhya ranges and nearby areas are mesmerizing. It was green all around with scenic beauty. We really enjoyed the fort. 30-45 minutes are good enough for the fort visit. Need to walk 300-400 mtr on an altitude but worth visiting.

If one has not visited Mandu then, he must make an endeavour to do so. Foolling are photos of Rani Roopmati Mahal, from where she used to have darshan of Ma Narmada River. One can see how rain water harvesting & storing was done during that time & how a fort was built & defences around

A warrior in the making who fought 40 battles undefeated and I must say that his final resting place is ignored being a decorated Peshwa army commander. Bajirao Peshwa was known for his battlefield tactics, shrewd guerrilla warfare and blazing speed of covering a journey from Delhi to Mumbai in 72 hours on a horse back. The last know battle fought by the Peshwa was at Mandu where he established Maratha rule. Due to extreme humidity the Peshwa took ill and developed extreme sunstroke and fever and passed away at the banks of Narmada river and his samadhi was built at Raverkhedi. The Peshwa was only 40 years old at the time of his death.

The place is a must visit by every Indian to pay a humble and sincere tribute to the finest cavalry General BharatVarsh has seen, infact a World class cavalry General. There is a temple made by his Queen Kashibai nearby. The Samadhi is simple and serene made by his patrons The locals say that the real cenotaph was washed away in the Narmada flood. There are more development works planned to uplift the place. The final 300 meters of the path to the Smadhi are through Raver village lanes. There is a small shop outside. The Narmada river flows adjacent and the aura is sober and serene.

Rajarajeshwara temple is walkable distance from the Maheshwar fort and must visit. This temple is also one of the old temple of Maheshwar and main deity is Lord Shiva. temple complex has many small temples. temple is known for the 11 Akanda lamps lit inside this temple. The statue and carving outside temple is really beautiful. If you are near Indore, you can take 2 hours drive and go here. From Omkareshwar, it is 1 hour and 40 minutes drive.

It is the temple of devi ahilya bai and it is now under construction there is a ghat in front of the gate of the temple where boat riding can be done in narmada river and we can also take bath in the narmada river. Police and life guards are present at the ghat and there are many temples present at the ghat and padman movie shooting was done here.

Today I visited the Ellora Caves, and honestly, it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. The place is absolutely stunning, a true masterpiece carved out of solid rock centuries ago. There are 34 caves in total, each with its own unique carvings, sculptures, and stories. What really blew my mind was the Kailasa Temple (Cave 16), which is carved entirely from a single massive rock. Just imagining the amount of time, effort, and creativity that must have gone into it left me speechless. Walking through the caves, I could actually feel the blend of Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain cultures that coexisted here. The artwork on the walls, the detailed pillars, and the peaceful atmosphere make it feel like stepping back in time. It’s not just a tourist spot, it’s a living piece of history. The surroundings are also beautiful, with cliffs, greenery, and a calm breeze that adds to the charm. If you ever visit Maharashtra, I’d totally recommend spending a day here. It’s more than just sightseeing; it’s an experience that makes you appreciate how incredible human creativity and devotion can be.

The Kailasa Temple at Ellora Caves is a stunning, singular attraction, famous for being entirely carved from a single rock of the mountain. Not only does the temple feature beautiful idols of gods and animals, but some of these sculptures are carved into the temple walls in a distinctive 3D/360° style. Furthermore, one side of the temple depicts scenes from the Mahabharata, while the other side is dedicated to carvings from the Ramayana.

Best among all prehistoric monuments. One day tour. Better to start from Shirdi and back to Shirdi rather than Sambhajinagar. 10 am to 3 pm sufficient for all caves. Winter is best to visit.

Ellora caves is in Verul village near Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Aurangabad Maharashtra. Entry tickets can be bought online or offline. Nearest cave to entrance is Kailasa temple (cave no. 16) a multitude storied temple carved out from a single rock and take a lot of time to explore. On the right side is cave numbers up to 15 and left remaining caves. Last caves are little away and can use battery cars.

One of the 12 jyotirlingas of lord Shiva. Really crowded on weekends, better to visit early to have a peaceful darshan. Male devotees need to remove their upper clothes before entering the temple. The security can be improved a bit. Mobiles are allowed but videography and photography are prohibited. I recommend not to fall for locals offering to help in the darshan queue. They just take you and leave before the temple entrance which is unofficially done. Men are allowed to go in and touch the lingam but women must stay behind the barricade positioned and take the blessings and offer prayers.

I had a very devotional and peaceful experience at Shri Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple. The atmosphere was filled with divine energy, and getting Sparsh Darshan before 6 AM made it even more special and spiritual. Men are allowed for darshan only without a shirt, which adds to the traditional and devotional experience. Truly a blissful visit and a must for anyone seeking spiritual peace.

Visited on 8th October 25 during visit to Elora cave. Very renowned temple with big idol of Lord hanuman. Attended mid-day Arati which is very charming. Must visit.

According to folklore, in ancient times the Khuldabad was known as Bhadravati, and the ruler was a noble king named Bhadrasena, who was an ardent devotee of Rama and used to sing songs in His praise. One day Hanumanji descended in the place, listening to the devotional songs sung in praise of Rama. He was mesmerized and, without his knowledge, took a reclining posture called 'Bhava-samadhi' (Bhavava samadhi is a yogic posture). King Bhadrasen, when he had finished his song, was astonished to find Hanuman in Samadhi before him. He requested Hanuman to reside there forever and bless his and Lord Rama's devotees.

Hindu holy place, probably one of few shri Hanuman temple where the idol is in sleeping posture. Darshan is usually quick unless there are any festive activities. Besides temple the are ample shops for souvenir or to buy any holy items. Parking is available with minimal charge.

I recently visited this protected tomb, and honestly, it was nothing too special 😕. The tomb itself was pretty underwhelming, but hey, at least it's protected, right? 🤷‍♀️ The real kicker was the road leading to the tomb; it was absolutely awful! 🚗💨 If your time is limited, I'd say this one is definitely missable, no regrets! 😉 #NotWorthIt #RoadTripFails

Peaceful place with no rush. Can be visited any time.

It is said that this open air walled tomb was constructed as per Aurangzeb' wish to be buried in the courtyard of the shrine of the Sufi saint Shaikh Zain-ud-din Shirazi. It is a simple tomb built has per his wish. It was only later that the British surrounded the tomb with marble screen. Today the tomb stands in this little known suburb of Aurangabad (Ch. Sambhaji Nagar) connected to the highway - that leads to Ellora- by a road that is hardly drivable. Once inside through the narrow passage, one can remove their footware and enter the place from where the tomb is visible. It's unlike the other Mughal era tombs that stand in magnificence. Bibi ka maqbara where Aurangzeb' wife was buried is one such example. This tomb in Khuldabad also is the final resting place of Aurangzeb' son and daughter in law. There is no entry ticket (I don't think this is ASI administered monument) and people of all faiths can step inside. There is no separate parking area and the vehicles are usually parked on the street leading to the tomb.

Chini Mahal is a must-visit attraction for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking a glimpse into India's fascinating past. Five stars!

The thought provoking Chini Mahal is all that remains of Chini Mahal, which is ironically known as the Chinese Mahal. This blue tiled palace was used by Aurangzeb to imprison the for the last king of Golconda, Abdul Hasan Tana Shah until his death. Now in ruins, the palace was once covered with blue stones, and that's why it was called the Chini Mahal. Chand Minar is a part of the Daulatabad Fort, so along the Chini Mahal, one can visit the various other places like Chand Minar, Jama Masjid, etc. How to reach: Chini Mahal marks the entrance of the Daulatabad Fort. So as to reach here, one can either trek or hire a cab from anywhere in the main city.

Golgonda sultan Abul Hasan Tana shah was kept here as prisoner of war,by Emperor Aurangazeb,&Bijapur sultan sikkandar as well.

Chini Mahal is a double storied castle situated inside the Daulatabad Fort complex. Located at a distance of 16 km from Aurangabad, Chini Mahal served as the royal prison and held many of the royal captives of Emperor Aurangzeb. Also known as China Palace, Chini Mahal was once a beautiful mansion and was inlaid with glazed blue and white enamelled encaustic tiles. Now only patches of the porcelain tiles remain on the facade of the Chini Mahal, showcasing the extreme craftsmanship of those who built this castle. The upper floor of the Chini Mahal is well ventilated with arched windows and is reached by stone steps. The roof of the Chini Mahal has fallen down. The last of the Qutab Shahi Kings of Golconda, Abul Hasan Tana Shah, and the last Sultan of Bijapur, Sikander, were held as captives by the Moghul Emperor, Aurangzeb. Best enjoyed during the months from October to March and suitable for the whole family, one can also visit the other monuments inside the Daulatabad Fort complex while visiting Chini Mahal. An entry fee of Rs. 5 is levied at the entrance. Chini Mahal is easily reached from Aurangabad as it lies on the Ellora-Aurangabad Road.

Daulatabad Fort, originally Devagiri Fort, is a historic fortified citadel located in Daulatabad village near Aurangabad city in Maharashtra state, India. It is a must visit for the people who are interested in history, fort architecture, artillery, art n beautiful panoramic scenes from the top. Its a quite big n vast. Keep one full day for visiting all the monuments n if u want to reach on the top of the fort. Originally built by Yadava King Bhillama V in 12th century to protect the city Devagiri, means 'Hill of the Gods', it passed through the hands of several dynasties and further developed. The fort is so strategically located that every conquerer of it was a proud owner. Sultan Muhammad bin Tughlaq changed the name of it as Daulatabad, means ‘Adobe of Wealth', in 1328 CE when he moved his capital from Delhi to here. This magnificent fort is standing on a top of a 200m high conical hill. It was one of the most powerful forts during the medieval period. The fort was defended by moat (khandak) and glacis (slopes) running around the hill at its foot besides the most complex and intricate defence system. The fortifications comprise of three encircling walls with bastions. Series of trick defence and secret escapes routes are the famous features of this fort. Jama Masjid, Bharatmata Mandir, Chand Minar, Elephant Tank and Chini Mahal (Chinese Palace) are the important monuments inside the fort.

The fort has huge historical relevance and contributes to archeological studies. If you're looking for fun and adventure then this place is for you, you would not want to miss visiting this fort. The Daulatabad Fort is well maintained. While visiting this fort I heard that there are 1100 steps to climb, I'm convinced that there were more steps than that. It is a good place if you're into exploring and like a little trekking with your family, friends or even solo. The fort had 2-3 completely dark passages inside, which made it feel more adventurous climbing to the top of the fort. The view from certain points as you're climbing the fort is beautiful, you can experience the beautiful view from top as you're climbing the fort. Also, once you reach the top, it's really calm and peaceful, the view is amazing and it feels worth the climb. It's a great place for amazing photos, you can get some really great clicks. One of the best places I've visited while being in Aurangabad.

One of the best maintained forts in India and a must visit place once you are in Aurangabad. The fort is kept clean and drinking water and toilets are available inside. Parking is nearby. Walk of appx 1-2 km is involved with steps at many places. There are magnificent views for clicking photos. Piece of history.

As you climb upward, the views from different points are absolutely breathtaking. Reaching the top is incredibly rewarding—the atmosphere is calm, the surroundings feel peaceful, and the panoramic scenery is stunning. The entire place is also perfect for photography, offering countless opportunities for memorable pictures. Overall, visiting Daulatabad Fort has been one of my most enjoyable experiences in Aurangabad.

The sheer rock-cut defenses and the famous, terrifyingly dark Andheri maze are the highlights. While the ascent is tiring, reaching the top provides stunning views and a powerful connection to India's past. Highly recommended for history buffs near Ellora.

What a peaceful place. An exhausting and a bit tricky climb but that's the whole point of this fort. The best time to visit is early in the morning so you don't have to climb in the harsh sun. It took me exactly 1 hour to make the climb to the crest of the hill where Durga Cannon is placed with two-three stops in between to catch my breath. Going beyond the dark passageway may not be really feasible if you have elders and small children in your group.
