Teos was once a thriving port center until Cyrus the Great invaded Lydia and Ionia around 540 BC. Teos regained its importance as a port thanks to Antigonus Monophthalmus. Epicurus himself is said to have studied there at that time. Famous people born in Teos include: Anacreon (poet), Hecataeus (historian), Protagoras (philosopher - sophist), Scythinus (poet), Andron (geographer) and Apellicon (curator of Aristotle's works).

A highly recommended place! If you visit Izmir, you must visit this place! It’s really stunning! The entrance fee is 15 euros (March 2025) and you need to pay 700 Turkish liras for the cable car. If you drive to Bergama, you can drive up the hill (no need to use the cable car) and the parking fee is just 100 Turkish liras. *** you can buy the tickets there, easily.

We visited this place as we were visiting the city of izmir. The thing I liked about the place was the old olive trees. Other than that, the place needs lots of walking and very few things to see

While planning your visit here, you should remember that it is a huge area and the distance among the ruins is long. You will have to walk long so, definitely take some water with you. Although there are seats in the shade for resting, you will be walking in the sun most of the time. This is why you may consider visiting it when the sun isn't that strong. P.S. The employee at the entrance wasn't very kind but hopefully, you will meet a more friendly one.

If you’re interested in beautiful walks in nature, history and ancient olive trees, I highly recommend a visit to Teos. You will hardly see any completed structures, you mainly see ruins sprinkled around the site but it is a great outdoor walk for families. It’s not super stroller friendly, while it is possible, I’d leave the stroller in the car. There is a bathroom at the visitor center and there is plenty of parking. Difficult to arrive in public transportation.

Another lovely city of Ionian League. The sad part is there is nothing to see except a little bit of theatre and government building. A lot of ruins and huge olive trees. Easily you can spend 2 hours. Almost all of the ancient city needs restoration here. I wish the government spent some money for this! That’s a huge opportunity for global tourism.

Very nice walk. Bring your swimsuit if you want to see the first waterfall. At the restaurant, feel free to ask if you can see the food, the cook will be delighted to show you.

Nice, interesting place to visit. There is a lot of green trees and bush, calm river and rest from sun. First of all: you need waterproof bag, shoes for water and rocks and good condition. To reach first waterfall it’s sth around 15-20 minutes of walk, then you have to swim sth around one minute in cold water and you’ll see first of them. Nothing complicated, but still: you have to swim and don’t be afraid about rocks. Too see another ones, you need go by stairs (they are pretty scary) and then reaching taverna, go down also by stairs and steep hillside. On the right there is second waterfall (you have to go through the river). On the left, you have to go sth around 20 minutes in the river bed - a lot of slippy rocks. Be careful! It’s not for people who are not physically active. Although, still worth to see it.

Beautiful place. getting to the falls requires some wading and occasional short swims in cold water. Don't leave your expensive Salomon walking shoes at the start though as someone will steal them while leaving cheaper trainers and other stuff 🤬

Quite cool place but water cold as ice, even in July. Water shoes are necessary, just like swimming ability cause in one place in deeper, without feeling ground.

A wetbag to put your belongings (phone, water, a fruit), swimwear and strong knees and hands ;)To get to the "first part" of The waterfall you need to go up the wooden stairs (5min climb) then you go down on the side of the restaurant. Enjoy the adventure, take you time don't rush it. "Second part" we couldn't get there cause we weren't stong enough to pull ourselves up the rope. I wish I was cause I enjoyed that part we did do.

Lovely place! The view is something — for two lira, you can use the super cool binoculars, and the restaurant / bar seems to be owned by the government so prices are rather accessible. The little basket of fried things we ordered was not good, but having a cold beer under the hot Aegean sun overlooking tone water like that is not to be missed. We went down via the stairs and up via the Elevator — one can really understand why it was built 😅

My husband discovered this gem and it became our favourite eating place. We were in Izmir for a wedding and ended up taking the whole wedding party for a meal, which they loved. We love seafood and were in our element, we could not eat enough. We loved that we were able to pick out the fish and know that we were eating fresh food. The fresh crunchy salad was to die for, it is the best salad we have ever had. If this restaurant was down the road from us, we would be eating there a lot. The atmosphere was great, the waiters and the rastaurant owner were fantastic. I rarely write reviews, but on this ocassion, I felt compelled to. We were looking for a place to eat in Izmir, the owner offered us a table and we went to choose some mezzes, the kitchen suppose to be closed, after choosing the mezzes, they offer us a fish cacerole, we told him that probably will be too much food, he says to us that it was only a plate. So we say ok. When they brought us the food, they brought five mezzes of octopus what we didn't order and we realise we have too much food on the table, we told them if we could not have the fish cacerol and they told us it was too late, so we have to have it, this wast just a plate like they said. It was a big one. At the end of the dinner we have left so much food and we have a very big bill. The cacerole was 7525 liras, the octopus 2650 liras plus everything else what there is not complains about it. The only good thing I can say is that the food was very nice and tasty. A good waitress always should say what to order to the customer and advised properly.

I had a seabream which was a bit dry and salty, but overall it was nice. However, they charged me twice the price they initially told me for the fish. I had explicitly asked for the price beforehand—they showed me the fish and said it was around 300 grams, so approximately TL700–800. I agreed to that. But when the bill came, they charged around TL1,400 for the seabream—double the amount. I complained, and the waiter who misled me claimed it was actually 500 grams. I pointed out that this wasn’t what he had said earlier, but he simply repeated that it was 500 grams and added that he hadn’t weighed it when I asked for the price. “Good” and silly me for trusting him and ending up being charged twice what this “professional” waiter told me when I arrived.

Great food and location. Courteous staff too. Everything was delicious, superb for the price.

We very much enjoyed our dinner at Kordonboyu Balık. The staff was very nice and helpful. We highly recommend bal badem for dessert (see picture). This is normally not the kind of dessert I go for, but was so happy I followed the waiters’ recommendation.

Great place to have dinner at the pier. The service and fish quality are great and the atmosphere is appealing. Your bill will most likely exceed 200 tl for a minimum meal for two people.

When you go to a good restaurant, you trust the waiter when they advise you, here the advice was too order much more food we could eat and of course, on top of that, the more expensive one, so we left paying a fortune and the table full of food we weren't able to finish.

This place is huge. One can find anything from printing service to suits and souvenirs. Of course there are a lot of restaurants and cafes. There is no need to visit every corner of it. Maybe just casually stroll and see where one is lead to.

A great place to walk around. We tried the mussels and rice. They were excellent. We also did the pickle juice which was also excellent. Lots and lots of interesting shops.

Unique bazaar as there is no goods and shops for tourists. Most of famous bazaar in Turkey is full of shops for tourist with expensive price. But here, most of customers are Izmir people. I like this bazaar. Merchants are friendly and kind! Visit here and feel some authentic turkey bazaar vibe!

Kemeralti bazaar is quite a busy place. You can find hundreds of things to buy from there as the prices are reasonably low. Make sure you have enough space in your suitcase before visiting the bazaar because there are too many souvenirs to buy. There are beautiful bags with Turkish embroidery patterns and praying beads and countless teas and coffees. There are numerous cafes to have a quick bite but they are all super busy. This bazaar is a must visit place.

It is a good place to have fun, especially if you have children. There are also many slides for adults. The ticket price includes food and drinks. However, we could not eat it. Everything was not tasty. Even the pasta was not cooked properly. The sausages were disgusting and seemed to be made of paper. The burger was also not tasty. You will have fun on the slides, but you will remain hungry.

The location and the sea are wonderful, and there are many enjoyable water slides. However, I am a bit concerned about the safety aspects. The metal platforms and stairs appear rusty, and the columns do not inspire confidence. I believe it would be beneficial to have a third party conduct a thorough inspection to ensure everything is in proper order. Regarding the inclusive lunch, while the concept is appreciated, the food is basic, and the quality is not particularly appealing, making it more of a necessity than a culinary delight.

A very nice water park. A large selection of slides and attractions, both for children and adults. The water park itself is clean. The waiting time to enter the slides is quite short, especially when compared to other water parks. Lockers are available on site. There is a snack bar in the aquapark and juice dispensers. I don't know the price of the entrance, because we had them for free as part of our stay, but being there, it's definitely worth a visit with the kids.

We only visited the beach and sampled some food. While the location is stunning and the staff is helpful, both the food quality and portion sizes fell short, failing to reflect the island's rich culture or meet expectations for overall quality. Also the place was so quite, one can hear others thinking so maybe not the best beach to visit for a younger group.

The sea is quite calm and clean. The location is too noisy. As it’s located in bay region, calm water enables you to swim easily and contentedly. Reasonably priced restaurant is self-service. It serves variety of foods& drinks with a good taste and great view. 2 seat and 1 umbrella is 8Euros as of 2024.

A relaxing beach with sunbeds over both grass or stones. 2 beds will cost you between 8 - 15 euros. It has a laidback restaurant with delicious food and super friendly staff. Sea is crisp & clean. Atmosphere is serene, hence popular with older folks. You can easily spend full day here, touch the grass, swim and sleep under Aegean sun with sounds of cicadas 😇 P.S. There are also rooms to book but we stayed somewhere else, so DYOR.

Very nice beach with crystal clear waters. Sun bed & umbrella price is reasonable; €8 and they were very new. Self service bar is also good. One of the best beaches on the island.

This is a great beach the water was so clean and perfection. Beach is covered with lots of pebbles so one needs some watershoes. There's a tavern nearby called Andrea's,The food is great the staff is friendly. Plus we only paid 3 euros for each sunbed.

Simply amazing. I visited here after Metropolis. It was a short ride it only took me 15 minutes and it was worth it. This museum is full of classic cars and bikes. I had only twenty minutes to see everything because it closes at 16:30 but i'd definitely spend two hours just looking at stuff. They charge 300 liras per person which is fair considering the quality of the museum.

A very cool place to visit if you are near Izmir - the cars were awesome and in top condition with technical descriptions attached. Also, an original bat-cycle from the 1966 Batman movie!

This was an unexpected experience but well worth it. Hubby was in car heaven in our trip. Will definitely recommend. Is not on ant main place but if you can drive there is worth the time.

We love car museums, visit them everywhere we travel and I can say that this is one of the best. All items are in perfect condition, shiny as new. The variety is superb! There are 120 year old items, rare cars and old supercars. It you are near Izmir and looking for interesting places, this is the one.

Its a must visit museum if you are a cat lover, the collection focuses on American, European cars and motorcycles, from the late 1800 to some unique 2020s cars. Verities of scaled car models collections. Every thing is well presented, the decorations and atmosphere including the coffee shop of a high luxurious taste I’m an admirer of the owner taste in the museum and hotel God bless him.

Since you can’t really drive all the way through the park I have to get a rating at three. Is our understanding that there is a military base at the end of the peninsula which overlooks Greece so they do not allow your access to that part of the pregnancy.

Rated as one of the top 10 beaches we found in an online article we decided to head along in the car. The park is separated into around 4 or 5 beach areas each with its own car park and its own access to the beach. Several have cafes serving soft drinks (non alcoholic) and snacks only in what I can only describe as an archaic fashion. With dirty sunbeds at a cost there are however, free to use picnic benches which I would highly recommend but seemingly a feature well recognised by the locals. If you're lucky enough to be traveling in a car then I'd recommend finding your own private beach!

I went to Dilek National Park on a weekday in May 2023 driving a motorbike. You can only enter from the north side of the peninsula for a ticket. There are a few beaches that you can visit and are not too far from the entrance. Beaches are beautiful and equipped with facilities for pic-nic, bars and plenty of toilets. At the time of my visit, none of the cafes/restaurants were open. Unfortunately the area that you can visit is quite limited compared to the extent of the peninsula, I wish I could visit more. Also, if you need info about the peninsula and trekking possibilities there isn’t much available and I recommend visiting the tourist information point in Kusadasi (opposite the port).

If you have a car or go by bus or taxi the beaches are a refreshing change from the resort complex! Relatively harmless boar roam around scavenging but only because idiots feed them and don't understand they'll keep coming!

I was pleasantly surprised by Ladies Beach - the water was so clear and clean. It got very busy throughout the afternoon but when we arrived at 10.30 there were plenty of sun beds available - all 300tl each and parasols are free. I was happy to see lots of people dispose of their rubbish although there are a lot of cigarette butts all over the sand.

The best beach in Kusadasi There are a lot of free umbrellas and beach beds, but as demand is quite high, you should come early to get them. A lot of shops and cafes are nearby, as well as Migros store. Water is clean, the sand is being cleaned daily, views are quite pleasant. Really nice place, however could be crowded in summer peak times. But is early September it was quite good and not crowded

The sea is shallow and crystal-clear. Unlike other touristic places, businesses with a sea view don't have exaggerated prices. There are also regular shops in the promenade so that u can easily get a drink without having to leave the seaside. We spent a pleasant afternoon swimming here. I recommend it.

A wonderful beach with soft white sand and crystal-clear water — truly one of the most beautiful spots in Kuşadası. However, it’s sad to see that some visitors leave trash and throw cigarette butts around. When you have such a stunning natural place, it’s everyone’s responsibility to keep it clean and take care of it. Despite that, the beach itself is amazing - perfect for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the view.

One of the best beachs! I love Kusadisai! It's crowded so if you're looking for a quiet beach, this is not the one, but the water and beach are beautiful! You can get there early and snag a umbrella already set up on the beach, or rent one for £100 at one of the shops on the boardwalk.

The beach was ok. The umbrella rentals were reasonable at €15 for two chairs and an umbrella. The ocean water however was full of debris from trees or plants, not sure which. However, we walked a little further to the right and the water seemed a bit clearer, not too bad. The waves were very strong so we had to keep a close eye on the kids. The vendors on the beach were very reasonable, I bought cotton candy and a candy apple at €2 each. Overall, not too bad of an experience at lady beach. The cab charged us €20 each way from the cruise Port.

Incredible historical site that you must visit if you stop in Kuşadası. The scale of this outdoor museum has to be seen in person. Knowing that only about half has been excavated makes a future visit even more tempting.

Part of Ephesus Ancient City, this particular ruin is probably the most impressive due to it's size. As you walk down what used to be central street, it already looks amazing but as you get up close and you have the chance to walk inside, you realize the absolute awesomeness of what was built.

This is located at one end of the ruins of city of Ephesus. The front part of the building still stands today. The wall has holes where the manuscripts were stored. You can visit some parts of this building only. It is definitely the highlight of Ephesus.

It was designed not only to store scrolls and books—holding an estimated 12,000 manuscripts at its peak—but also to serve as a monumental tomb for Celsus, whose sarcophagus lies in a crypt beneath its main floor.

Commissioned in the years 110s CE by a consul of the Roman Empire, Tiberius Julius Aquila Polemaeanus for his father Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, it was completed during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Celsus is buried in a crypt beneath the library. It was the third-largest library in the Greco-Roman world behind only those of Alexandria and Pergamum. Believed to have held around 12,000 scrolls. The facade was re-erected by archaeologists between 1970 and 1978.

Honestly one of the highlights of our visit. It was fairly busy and really hot but the views made it worth it. The best place to view the details is from underneath the arch next to it.

Beautiful location. A lot of the structures are intact and well preserved it was difficult to get there without a guide, taxi or tour group, so it can be pricey. The ancient library is a major highlight and they do live reacting of Roman guards. Lots of history. There is a small bathroom and market stand will snacks and food around the midway point of the walk. When we went (end of June) it was 103 degrees F° with no shade. We spent about an hour and a half walking through but needed to leave due to the heat. Would love to walk around more. Important: bring good hiking shoes that grip, the marble floors are polished and slippery. We had hiking boots and sandals and still slipped a few times, but our friends with simple sneakers had to walk very slowly and carefully to avoid falling down.

Believed to be the largest in the ancient world: could host up to 25,000 seated spectators. Initially used for drama, in Roman times gladiatorial combats were also held on its stage. Elton John performed a special, solo concert at the Great Theater on July 17, 2001.

We stayed in Izmir and drove to it. It was roughly an hour to get to it. Very nice site and well preserved.

A must see. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made it easy to visualize how the residents lived. Very advanced facilities such as water pipes, tolet system etc. Make sure you arrive early. When our tour bus left the cars trying to enter was out of sight.

Beautiful and sacred holy ground. Be prepared to do a lot of walking as most vehicles are not permitted close to the entrance. We enjoyed seeing the home of the Virgin Mary. The wall of intentions was moving and special. We enjoyed walking the grounds and looking at the landscape. Recommend dressing modestly or you will need to wear a covering. Photography is not permitted in the house.

The House of the Virgin Mary is a very small site, and the entrance fee is 500 TL per person, which feels a bit steep given the size. Still, the place holds strong spiritual significance, and if you’re religiously inclined, you’ll probably appreciate the atmosphere and the peaceful surroundings. A warning about taxis: drivers will often try to charge €40–50 for the trip from Selçuk, which is outrageous. Don’t pay anything close to that. Around €20 total for a full car (up to four passengers) is more realistic. Always agree on the price before getting in. Overall, the visit is meaningful mainly from a religious or spiritual perspective. If that’s important to you, it’s worth seeing. If not, it’s more of an optional stop rather than a must-see.

In Meryemana, Turkiye, the Virgin Mary's House is located. Reverant, quiet, with a prayer wall we stood in a contemplative mode, remembering the struggles of Jesus and the prophecy that was to unfold. I thought of the pain Mary and her sisters endured, but still after all these years Mary provides love and forgiveness to all those in need. These prayers and requests were represent at the prayer wall at Mary's House. It was symbolic of the needs from people all over the world. One gentle man touched my heart so, as he went around retrieving prayer notes that had fallen off the wall. He tenderly returned each note from the ground to the wall. A qentle act of kindness. There are no photographs allowed in Mary's House but prayer candles may be purchased there. Worth the visit!

Mary lived in this house after death of Jesus Christ. The house has two small rooms. The environment is very peaceful here. You will need to walk 10 mins to reach the house. Because of queue you may get a few seconds only inside the house. Overall, a must visit place if you are in Izmir.

Is it actually Mary’s house or just a tourist trap? Jury is still out. Is it worth a visit for you to decide for yourself? Yup. They herd you through the house at a gallop so don’t expect to spend much time checking things out inside the house. Basically just a quick walk through of a tiny house. There’s a holy fountain and a wishing wall too. The whole site might take you 20 minutes to get through.

A must visit especially for Catholics. They say that this is more believable as the house of mother Mary because John the Baptist went to Ephesus, Turkey after Jesus died. And since Jesus entrusted Mary with John, it is believed that they both went together to Ephesus, Turkey and Mary spent her days in this place.

There was about a 30 minute wait to reach the house. As you reach the house there is an open air alter with priests leading mass. You would need to check the schedule if necessary. Our guide shared that only about 12-14% of the house found in the foundation is from an archeological dig. You walk thru 3 rooms that include religious pictures and statue. After you leave the house you come to 3 fountains that have been blessed. There is then a fence where people tie their prayers. At the end of the walkway are restrooms and a museum shop.where you can purchase blessed icons. Right outside the gates and at the entry are shops selling souvenirs, candy and food. To me this seems out of place at a religious place.

An excellent and large example of an abandoned ancient city, but with so much unfulfilled potential. Some effort has been made to reconstruct and maintain a couple of buildings, but there is clearly a lack of money to finish the job. Many areas are overgrown and inaccessible, and piles of columns and stones and just left and used as farmer’s walls around the area. It shouldn’t be that the only parts of the city that are carefully preserved are done in museums in europe, it shows a lack of care for one’s own cultural heritage and proves the point of those museums.

Great place that we got to explore virtually alone. Make sure you check out the mosque. The juxtaposition of Greek, Roman, and Ottoman is cool.

Even by modern standard, this theatre is quiet large (although still smaller than Ephesus). But there are also old tunnel which connect both side of the theatre, a scene which couldn't sense in Ephesus theatre.

Excellent historical site to visit. The theatre is well preserved. This location was not very busy with tourists and is cheaper too. Definitely a place to visit and see the port (now filled-in with silt from the river) where Paul departed to Jerusalem - Acts 20:36-38.

This was amazing to visit. The theater welcomes you to the site and behind is full of surprises. The baths of Faustina, St. Michael's church and a beautiful mosque also. The beauty in Turkey is astounding. Definitely worth going to see these ruins and visit Turkey!

The entrance fee is 50TL, including admission to the local small museum. Parking - free of charge. The city has hardly been excavated and all the surviving buildings have not been restored, and these excavations are not at all equipped for easy access by the elderly, the disabled and children - keep this in mind when planning your visit! Only fascinating theater is really interesting to visit. Therefore, I recommend visiting this ancient city only to great lovers of antiquity and it is not worth a separate trip.

The entry to Miletus is 100tl which includes entry to museum, parking is free. The site is huge and you can explore ruins for hours. The bad thing that it’s not maintained well and there are no signs so you can get lost by wondering somewhere else. Overall it’s a great experience. I really enjoyed visiting the theater and seeing turtles that live there.

Lots of sites around Bafa Lake Seven Monasteries site on hills in back if you fancy a climb. Down by the lake it's equally as peaceful,

Bafa Lake offers an ideal location for relaxation with its impressive setting, and full with visitors who prefer cooling off in the lakeside cafes & restaurants for enjoying the excellent view. As an ancient gulf transformed into a lake by the alluvial deposits of the river Meander (Buyuk Menderes), Lake Bafa, is situated at the foot of Mount Latmus, at the size of 10 miles length and 3 miles width. The lake is fed by little torrents and by the river Meander during the rainy season. The water flows back into the Meander along the same direction in the summer. The lake is rich for the great variety of fish , salmon, carpi, mullet principally. Also, at certain times, the lake and its environs are visited by thousands of wild ducks, pelicans, water hens, making a marvelous setting. As the cultural and historical values of the Bafa Lake; Heraclia Antic City takes place within the borders of the Lake, at the south west foot of Beşparmak Mountains. In the Antic City there are many historical buildings; these are Athena Temple, an Agora, Council Building, Public Bath, Theatre, Nymphaion (fountain building), and Endymion Temple.

Lake is very big and really beautiful. Just has bad smell in hot weather from aquatic plants. Also it's a home for a lot of kinds of birds

Lake Bafa is a lake and a natural reserve, which is situated along the border line of the Soke District of Aydin Province. The main water sources of this lake are the water floods in the Great Menderes River and the mountains of the surrounding area. This is a peaceful place with a great beauty of nature. Sides of the lake are covered with pine trees, tamarisks and olive groves. The lake is full of various species of water plants, which appreciates living of many species of fishes in Lake Bafa. The lake is also a home to the various species of birds like dwarf cormorants, sea eagles, chameleons, owls, pink flamingos and many others. It is one of the best tourist places to visit in Turkey.

It is a well, easy accessible mall designed for hot climates. You can find anything you look for. I was there one of the hottest days of July and had some discomfort while eating. Dining area is open air and there should be more AC that you can eat easily in the scorching days.

The mall is not so big, mostly open and most of the shop are makeup and fashion stores. Also it's very family friendly.

It's an open air shopping mall located in center of Aydın. It's nice and cool place. At least you feel fresh air while you're buying things. There is a big food court and some popular cafes. You can find many popular brands and stores in it. There is enough place for parking,it's not wasting your time like other malls.

I had a good experience in akbük but i heard that it used to be more relaxing and beautiful over there but now its too crowded and not that good if you just want to chill out. There's a beautiful forest there too but the fire department won't let you camp there unfortunately. And if you want to camp you either should find a place before actually getting to akbük or you have to camp in the campsites which are too crowded and in my opinion awful ! And overpriced

From Akyaka it is almost 50 min distancr by car, a challenging Road but a hidden town by the sea and Mountain. Clean sea and perfect nature

The water is amazing and worth a visit. There are a few small open air places that will serve you food and drinks. Paid 10try to park but worth every penny to swim in these waters. The beach is small but they sell chairs and umbrellas if needed but you dont come here to sit on the beach. I wish i had diving equipment with me.

Be ready for very loud music for the whole day until 12, especially well heared if you are on a yacht. Worst mooring experience in Turkey so far

One of the perfect place to have rest and swim. Still not commercial and “touristic”. Some sea side hotels and restaurants are occupying the beach but still it’s kind of “vlrgin” place for holiday.

This review is for the river it self. Unbelievable. Never seen anything so natural and amazing. Cristal clear water with incredibly beautiful see weed and fish. A natural aquarium. The boats take you for a tour for very reasonable price.

The river and surrounding ambience is phenomenal. One should really need to hop on a boat and enjoy the slow ride with tremendous scenery. However, I suggest you pack your meal, even get your drinking water with you. The restaurants are below average, sometimes far from edible and truly undeservingly expensive.

Quaint little seaside town about 40 mins from Marmaris with a beautiful landscape and mountains surrounding. Take a leisurely cruise down the river or just chill at one of the wayside cafes. Tranquillity and peace. Awesome place to spend a day and just unwind

Most people friendly and salt of the earth. Couldn’t do enough for you. Any time of the day or night, there would be shops open. Some phenomenal evenings, breakfasts and lunches at The Majestic by the beautiful flower lined and walkbridge connected Canal. Surprisingly though, prices were similar to Sydney, Aus. prices or a little cheaper. It wasn’t as cheap as I had expected for such a small town. Overall, my experience in Içmeler was fondly memorable! Worth the trip.

A nice beach in the centre of icmeler. It was empty in October so Marmaris is better if you want a more lively atmosphere, however if you want some peace and quiet this is the place to go. I’d imagine it’s quite different in the middle of the summer!

Pleasant little town. We walked here from our hotel in Marmaris. Took just under an hour. Bars and shops aplenty. Water taxi to take you to and from Marmaris is a nice and fairly inexpensive form of travel if don't want to walk.

Sunbeds free of you buy drinks / for from the bars. Didn't get hassle once we got a bed and service was great

Came here mid November we were fortunate enough to have lovely weather for a couple days, the beach is clean and if you sit near one the the restaurants or bars they allow you to use the Sun Loungers and give you free WiFi providing you purchase a drink from them.

The sand is brown ,it's kind of dry clay in most of the parts, don't expect white fine sand. The sea is brown as well, if you go to the deep part it can be a little bit more clear. If you want to go snorkeling ,that's isn't the beach ,go to Turunç, Turunç is amazing. Marmaris beach facilities are spectacular, showers everywhere, places to get changed and toilets. Amazing facilities.

A sandy beach stretches on the part of the coast of Marmaris and belongs to the municipality, it is crowded most of the time in the morning and evening, there are public sanitary facilities and places for changing clothes, as well as places for bathing and washing the body after going to the sea. There is a nearby park that has children's games.

Parked in the new carpark along the front, lots of space and walked the whole length of marmaris, there was a kite festival so they were everywhere. Wandered back along the pazar area which has lots of little shops, lovely afternoon

Finally got to see the famous dancing fountains in Marmaris — they start at 9pm and are definitely a highlight of any visit here. 💦✨ The music, lights, and water displays are brilliant, and the atmosphere is buzzing with families and holidaymakers. Can’t believe it’s taken me five trips to actually see them, but worth the wait!

Not as breathtaking as Dubai fountain, obviously on the much smaller scale. Still, lovely spot. I recommend to visit after sunset. Nice to chill and relax. Lovely, calming atmosphere.

Lovely for a swim but lots of stones so u will need beach shoes. No sun beds or loungers. Just bring ur Towel and sit on sand. There is a little bit with a rail that has man made hard floor under sea to get into sea to avoid the stones

Very nice place to wait for a ferry. Bathrooms are super clean! See a bunny or two while you are there.

Very nice well designed place with whatever a sailor can need such as warm water, every time clean big spaced toilets with hair dryer. Good shopping area with many cafes restaurants and sailing shops, a very close super market just next to marine, close to heart of Marmaris just a few minutes walk you are in castle historic area and bar streets.

It used to be very nice and friendly, in the last two years prices have become unreasonable. Let me explain: first of all is very noisy at night (both from night clubs but also fron other boats partying) but the worst thing is the high speed powerboats entering or leaving the marina. So once in while unexpected waves come out of the blue caused by tenders. Additionally the behavior of certain staff + the refusal to speak English is funny when working in tourism! There is a rule in marketing called "willingness to pay", i don't mind the higher cost BUT downgrading the quality of your services is serious.

The marina is impeccably clean and well run, the town has everything you cod need to refit your boat with. Most of the mariners speak good English and are very helpful and the technical support is also readily available. It is also a very safe and secure marina with someone attentively patroling on a tender through the night .

An amazing relic of the past. I'd like to give everyone a little information here. There is no need to get a boat trip to visit this place. Walk along the front in the direction of the sea. (Left). You will see a restaurant on the other side. There is a row boat service to take you to over. The cost is insignificant. You will see a single road on the other side. Simply walk along it for approximately 20 minutes and you will arrive at Caunos. You can not miss it. It's an easy walk for most people. You do have to get in and out of the boat, obviously but you will be helped. These are pictures of the crossing point.

Well worth a visit to the extensive ruins. Took the car ferry as foot passengers from river by Hotel Portleva. Fare 20 lira each way (cash). Then 15 minutes easy walk on a road. Entry fee 140 lira each again cash only. Visited from 4pm on 1 October and only a very few people were there. The amphitheatre is being renovated but still accessible. The lower level by the river is river is accessible by an ancient paved path which is uneven in places -saw a few big lizards. It’s possible to cross the river by row boat from the town centre but this means a longer walk on the other side.

Kaunos is a must see if you’re in the area! So much amazing history to see and gorgeous views over the water! Remember to bring water as it’s HOT up there… they have opened a little cafe to grab a drink too.

Kaunos is an ancient city located in the province of Muğla, Turkey, near the modern town of Dalyan. Once a strategically important port city, it is now situated several kilometers inland due to the silting of its harbor over centuries. The city is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List and is known for its unique blend of Carian, Lycian, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine influences. There is quite a lot of restoration work but it doesn't detract from what you see. There are bilingual signs outlining what each structure is and it's history. All in all, it's like the entertainment quarter for the ancient inhabitants of this area. Entry is 150 Turkish Lira payable at the top. The walk up is very dusty and hot. I recommend good walking shoes, a hat and water.

4th visit. This time I decided to walk to the highest point where the castellations are. It was a difficult ascent which took about 30 min's beyond the ampitheatre. Don't think I'd do that walk again but if you're up for a challenge go for it. The views are panoramic once at the top

Great place great scenery

Enjoyed the trip by boat all the way to the mud and thermal water park. Mythologically, It is been said that the river is filled by tears of a prince whose love left him for his brother. On the mountains there, they crafted their Graves.

Very nice, spacious and clean sandy beach. Water is crystal clear and it's shallow for like 20 meters. The only downside was the parasols; they're rather small and don't have great coverage. However the beach is pretty cheap -100 TL for a couple of beds and a parasol - so it's definitely worth it.

This is our first trip to İztuzu Beach by car, and the journey is quite long. The breathtaking views on the drive to the beach make it worthwhile. The parking lot costs ₺200, and payment is required upon entry. They also provide changing rooms and restrooms. There is a restaurant and tanning area where you can pay ₺165 per person or ₺350 for two wooden sun loungers, or choose a free one on the sand. The beach was extremely crowded. The only thing you have to do when you go swimming in the sea, all you have to do is walk far enough until the water is deep enough. İztuzu Beach is absolutely stunning; unfortunately, we did not get to see any turtles, but we had an enjoyable time. I recommend it purely for the experience.

İztuzu Plajı is one of the most beautiful and unique beaches in Turkey. The sand is golden, the water is shallow and warm, and the scenery is amazing with mountains on one side and the river delta on the other. What makes it special is that it’s also a protected nesting area for Caretta Caretta turtles, so it feels like you’re visiting both a beach and a natural reserve. There are no big hotels or loud music, which keeps it peaceful. Best to bring your own snacks and water, and respect the turtle areas. Truly a natural paradise!

One of my favourite in Turkey. Perfectly clean, wise, and beautiful. Dalyan in general is a magic place for a vacation. You can get there by the boat, or by the bus service. It takes around 30 minutes, both ways are enjoyable though, views etc. A lot of empty space, if you walk a little far from the sun lounges. Sandy clean beach, warm clean sea, perfect

I liked this beach a lot. The fee is not that much (2€ per car, no matter how many people are inside it), there are public toilets and showers (with cold, salty water) and the beach is clean. The water doesn't get deep enough for swimming for more than 50meters which makes it ideally for kids. You can also visit the Turtle Hospital (which is located close to the entrance). There is also shadow under some pine trees, but if you arrive after 10am most probably you will find it already occupied. At times it gets very windy. The restaurant inside has reasonable prices.

The beach was fine but the views on the road to get there almost earned it 5 stars. There is water sports and people available to take you out on a boat. The road to get there isn't for a novice driver but as long as you go slow you'll get there, it was my first time driving left hand drive and I had a blast heading down it.

Stunning beach with turquoise water. The maim beach is a bit crowded but the hidden gem is on the left hand side. Take the walking trail on the left and walk 10 minutes. You will fall in love with the crystal clear turquoise blue water.

Great Beach , entrance 200TL for a car , 150TL for 2 sunbeds at the time of writing. Sandy beach with easy access to the water , lovely place with a quirky cafe, note that the whole place is card only - NO CASH.

This is my most favorite bay in this area. On the weekends it is too crowded because it is very popular due to its fame and perfect sea and forest combination of nature but during the weekdays it is a perfect choice.

One of the most beautiful spots to see in Dalaman area. The beach is great early in the morning if you want to get the most of it. Entry to the parking 200TL, sunbeds for 150TL. The road is a bit challenging but it’s worth it.

TL 200 entrance per car, payment by card only. Loud public announcements. Beatiful views of bay. But can be crowded and everybody smokes.
