Lovely brewery with lovely beer! Spent the evening there sampling their selection and had a very informative tour. The tour was more about the history of the brewery than the brewing process itself

Rebellion have made reliably great beer for ages, but they take it to another level with customer experience. Tap room is great with friendly staff, loads of beers as you would expect and at very reasonable prices. They deliver beer direct to your home !, including larger kegs and tap systems, so brilliant for parties. The shop is excellent too, selling bottled beers, fresh beer in many sizes of container,locally produced snacks and merch. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Had such a great tour here with Sam. Super informative but still accessible to different levels of knowledge, and lots of samples along the way. Plus the taproom had a great atmosphere, such a fun place to come to watch a match!

We ordered a number of barrels and a lager keg with pump for a large private event at a Village Hall, as well as wines and 200x wine and pint glasses. Big thank you to Connor for being able to accommodate a delivery time to coincide with when we had access to the Village Hall on the Saturday. The delivery driver was really excellent - took great care and time to carry everything in and place it where it was needed. He also took time to make sure everything worked as it should, and checked we were happy with everything before he left. Great service.

Had their beers before, and liked them. Even better here because they've only travelled short distance across the premises. Staff friendly and very helpful. None of the "I only work here" vibe you can get in some places. Staff seemed only too willing to help. Carrying purchases from the shop to the car for my friends was offered, and done so, without even asking. Brilliant! Shop was pleasure to browse. Cracking sage and onion Scotch egg. Will definitely be back. Thanks all.

Had a fantastic evening at the tap yard and a tour of the brewery. Tour guide Sammy was brilliant, very knowledgable and friendly! Great value for money, lots to drink!

We had a fantastic morning at Wet n Wild! The L6 students fully embraced the inflatable and loved the large SUP! The site is fantastic and the facilities were clean. The staff were super accommodating and the food and refreshments, were excellent! We will definitely be looking to book again for next year!

Well organised. Safety talk beforehand. Everyone wears life jackets and non-slip socks(provided). Participants are observed by staff in canoes on the water. Not for the fainthearted-the water is cold, and some of the slides are pretty high! Bonus-house martins are nesting in the open barn, which has shaded seating. My only suggestion for improvement is that the coffee stall could've offered iced coffees to their menu. Temperature was 30°c and didn't fancy a hot drink. Had cold water, though, and slushies...

I had a great time with my friends, the course has varied challenges and levels. It was really cool to slide and jump in. Very wet and wild. The staff break the scale with their helpfulness, there was an incident in the water and they attended to it swiftly and effectively, I have a lot of confidence in how everyone is trained and prepared. Even the general atmosphere and attitude of everyone is super friendly and helpful. I can’t wait for next summer, we’ll be back again!

A really fantastic experience! Heaps of fun, well organised and safe. Great communication ahead of time as well: we were able to explain each stage to our group so that they knew what to expect and didn't get overwhelmed. The Wandering Kitchen food was super too: delicious and, importantly, their service was exceptionally good: fast, efficient, calm and kind.

I would give wet and wild 10 stars if I could. 5 stars for our experience on the waterpark and 5 stars for the staff. We got locked out of the car with no phones for 3 hours and the staff were so attentive and helpful to keep us warm and to provide what we needed. Special shout out to Luke and the girl that gave us coats to keep us warm when we were wet. Thank you so much for a great birthday experience!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a bit of a rocky start when I realised I’d accidentally booked the wrong date online—totally my fault, but I was really frustrated when I first arrived and couldn’t change it. I admit I was a bit grumpy with the team (sorry again!), but they handled it really kindly and professionally. The manager came down and sorted everything out for us, which completely turned things around. We ended up having an amazing time! The whole place is brilliant, the staff were great, and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to help us out. Thank you, Oxford Wet and Wild—highly recommended!

Kids loved it. Arriving 45 mins before the session seemed excessive but might be more important at busy times. Shame you can't take your own snacks in as the cup of tea was disappointing- milk was put in before it brewed.

Great location, has onsite parking. Theatre itself is spacious inside, plenty of bars and food available. Seats are comfortable and leg room is standard. No seat is a bad seat

An evening with Omid Djalili was full of laughter and I also learned a lot about Iran which was amazing and heartfelt and stories about courageous women. I loved every minute. I would recommend this fantastic show. It was the first time I heard of this comedian who supports Omid Djalili is named Boothby Graffoe and he was hilarious and funny and I can't wait for him to have his own show because he deserves it because he was so funny. So if you want an evening of laughter then this is the show for you. Also the car park is next to the theatre but the negative about the car is if you had a big car I would not advise you park there because the car parking spaces are small and advise to look for some where else to park otherwise you might be there for along time and miss part of the show because I did notice a lot of people coming in late after the show had started.

Great local pub. There is always a very friendly welcome from the staff and the pub provides good, well-cooked food, a selection of beers and wines and there's even a fire in the winter! All of this in a perfect village location. Highly recommended!!

Stunning show, lovely theatre, very helpful and friendly staff...multistory car park smells bad...unfortunately filthy stairwells and lifts. Not a great start and finish to a wonderful trip to High Wycombe. Who ever owns that facility...you are doing a bad job. BUT...Fiddler was incredible! Thank you to the Swan!

Visited for the first time to see Ghost Stories on tour. I was really impressed by the quality of the staff but also the cleanliness and the comfort of the seats. We were seated in the front and there was a lot of space for the legs and the seats were comfy. In fact better than some London theatres. However the theatre isn’t very well decorated and vintage which is the only downside of it. But it isn’t a big issue really! I will come back again in the future to see more shows.

Visited with family a couple of weeks ago, treated ourselves to a meal. Our waitress Ella H was phenomenal, we had a great service. Also Riley behind the bar was a joyful character to say the least. The show was splendid and I can’t wait to return next month!

Historic Manor House & Grounds. Beautiful manor house set in rolling parkland. The house is a treat, superbly decorated and the parkland is landscaped rather than formal, with a lake and features to explore. We had a lovely visit, thankyou.

Only a few rooms open to the public on the ground floor (the family live in the rest of the house). Large grounds and lake. Steep walk up the hill opposite to the Dashwood family mausoleum.

Beautiful grounds, I went here with my disabled son who loved it. Please make it clear where you expect disabled vehicles to park, I'm very grateful you provide disabled spaces but I was approached by two separate volunteers telling me I had parked on the grass (very naughty) - very simple, just show people driving disabled vehicles where it is you expect them to park. A basic sign on a random tree doesn't help. Thanks.

What a nice surprise! I heard about this place as the filming location of the movie Labyrinth with David Bowie so I was curious to visit. Visited during a beautiful Sunday and it was better than expected. The garden is large and you can have a nice walk around. Wonderful view over the house and some magical bridges. The house is also amazing and very luxurious but you can't take pictures inside which is disappointing. As a NT member, I will definitely visit again as I live nearby.

One of the local gems in the south east & Buckinghamshire area. Im glad we have so many nice national trusts within walking, driving distance and this is the one most local to me. Its always a amazing place to visit and take time to walk around no matter what period or weather. I am a member and im glad my money supports amazing places like this. Well worth a visit

Lovely gem in Old High Wycombe village (the village itself is a walk in the past, beautiful), with a villa, a lake, few streams and glades to walk around. The only thing is that it is open for only 3hrs on a Sunday. Potentially because it is still inhabited, sometimes. We actually met a couple of the heirs, on our way out :)

We Love it here! only spend an hour but was worth it, walk-in, we paid £5 each adult and free for our Little One (1yr/old) also You can park inside as long as its not full, members priority. Parked our car in West Wycombe Car park. Great view indeed! travel back in time, beautiful landscape, Lovely for walks and chill, picnic not allowed though, bring your own water and snack especially those with children, clean as you go bring back food packaging home. Located in a busy intersection road (be careful), Surely we will come back much earlier, that Monday was not busy at all. 4:15PM is the last time they accept people in. No Dogs and No Picnic allowed in the park.

Excellent alternative day out. Caves are easy to get through and we'll looks after. Loads of fun history in the place as well. Would love to have done more in the area but most was taken up by Netflix filming but will definitely go back and try again. Walled cafe also a good treat in the area. Food was good quality and there was no long wait for service.

Really cool spot to explore. We rented a car to visit Diddly Squat Farm from London and stopped by here for our 12 year old. Chilly underground while it was sweltering at the surface. We climbed up to the mausoleum and the views were amazing.

Hell fire caves as most know has an amazing history and very creepy complicated past which was amazing to learn about and also research myself the caves were amazing the craftsmanship was definitely something to visit not to mention it is DEFINITELY haunted so not for the weak haha but we loved it. Will probably visit again in the future!

Amazing little secret if you know about it. I stumbled across this and it was a fantastic visit with a great little coffee shop at the entrance that you don't need to actually buy a ticket to use. I will be visiting again with the family, and let them experience the caves. Great half term visit.

Brilliant visitor attraction and worth the experience. There are lots of stories about the caves that are brought to life through interpretation panels, wax model displays, and audio. I did find the audio a bit loud and at times distracting, can be a bit of a sensory overload. Would be great if they have a “quiet time” for people who need it. But failing that I’d recommend bringing some ear defenders or noise cancelling headphones. It can be cold in the caves so wear layers. And I can see that it could be slippery so good shoes are a must. There is a cafe on site, and further down the hill at The Walled Garden cafe.

We found these caves by chance as we went to this area for another event. They had a Halloween event on at these on the 26th October when we visited and there were people dressed up down in the caves with spooky decorations and scenes setup down there too. It was great the caves are very interesting and the history that goes along with them is great too. There is a little cafe at the menu entrance which is very fairly priced. The staff were friendly and polite. If you are in the area I would recommend a visit to these caves.

Very interesting and fun set of caves to explore and learn about. The visit was quite short and it gets a little cold down there. My daughter was a little scared from the darkness and atmosphere but it wasn't too bad.

The snack shack where you buy the mini trains tickets has very cheap prices. The steam train is fun. We went on a weekend when they have extra mini trains running to cross to the beach side and back. The beach was crowded with screaming kids and the red flag means there are high levels of a snail parasite or something so the water makes your skin get itchy bumps. The forested area is quiet with nice paths. Nice picnic tables and easy access to get there by Central Line tube.

Decent if you want to go to the "beach" but not drive to the coast. Wouldn't swim in the waters but nice to relax and play around on land. There's a dog beach but not as nice, so bring a chair or blanket. When it got busy people came over here, including kids with footballs, which isn't fair on the dogs or their owners, especially dogs who are reactive to footballs, like ours. One dog owner didn't really do much when their dog was a bit more aggressive with other dogs. All the other owners were trying to get their dogs away but they didn't do anything to try and recall him. Food and drink is decently priced but the coffee was horrible. Expected the chicken and bacon baguette to be hot or toasted but it wasn't, though didn't say if it was (or i didn't read it). Very expensive parking for more than 3 hours at £17 but that's to be expected for this time of year (June). We arrived at 10am and car park still had loads of spaces but by 11am it was completely full, so go early. Mens toilets were disgusting though. Someone left a used nappy in a cubicle and another was blocked full of excrement. Don't know if there was anyone in duty to clean but absolutely horrible and disgusting way to leave a public space like this.

Want a serene walk or run? This is the place. It’s quiet, safe, scenic and peaceful. It’s dog-friendly, has toilets, a small beach, good crowd, playground and a beautiful walkway that goes around the lake.

Beautiful lido, to walk, run or just mope about in, with 2 cafes and restaurant within the area. Car park is a bit pricey for non hillingdon first card holders but definitely worth the visit. A lot of dog walkers use this area and nice steam train which runs around the lake. Can get very busy in summertime

As a whole a great place to visit and have done many times over the last 20+ years... I took my oldest children there when they were younger and now my youngest... And I have seen the changes made over the years ... The kids play area is looking weathered in need of a freshen up ... Afew teaks but generally a beautiful area with lots Todo

Visited Ruislip Lido on a number of times and it's never disappoint.The lake and sandy beach give it a real seaside feel. There’s a lovely walking trail around the lake — perfect for families, joggers, or anyone wanting a peaceful stroll. The kids loved the splash pad and playground, and the miniature railway ride. there is café and pub near the beach. Parking can get very busy, so try to arrive early, especially in good weather. Overall, a great place for a family day out or a quiet escape into nature.

I visited Ruislip Lido yesterday evening and was pleasantly surprised by this little escape in North London. The man-made beach has a charming, laid-back atmosphere, perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind. The walking promenade around the water is a highlight—peaceful, scenic, and ideal for a leisurely stroll as the sun sets. That said, the water itself wasn’t the clearest or most inviting—it lacked that bright blue appeal you might hope for, and a bit more attention to cleanliness (especially around the edges) would make a big difference. Still, the overall vibe was lovely, with people enjoying picnics, kids playing, and even a few brave souls dipping their toes in! The nearby café and mini-railway add to the fun, making it a great spot for a casual day out. With a little more care, Ruislip Lido could be even better—but even as it is, it’s a nice place to relax without leaving the city.

Well looked after grounds, well tended gardens and beautifully managed Manor House. The facilities are more than adequate and volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable to explain and answer questions. However, we found the lights were very dim in most of the rooms downstairs and it was difficult to see or read the information provided in the pamphlets and walls.

No queues, not a lot of people and one of the most comprehensible and easy to navigate National Trust houses in England. Absolutely fascinating to learn more about English history; Disraeli, wartime mapping, and secrecy. Knowledgeable staff who like what they are doing. We visited on a glorious sunny weekday afternoon. A light lunch to start, nothing really special, served quickly and efficiently. The house is very well presented and the gardens are a delight to walk around and sit and admire while reclining in a deck chair.

Lovely building with a fascinating story. Loved all of the information on the production of the maps during WW2, especially interesting that they are still finding out about people who were there during that time. Cafe has plenty of seating with the usual menu of quality fare. The gardens are gorgeous and extensive.

Amazing House and gardens and with a lot of history, with roots dating back to before the Domesday Book. It became known as the country home of Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria's favorite Prime Minister, who purchased it in 1848. If you're a National Trust member you should definitely visit.

A beautiful place to go. Gardens are well kept with lovely colours, the staff were friendly, and happy to help. House was amazing to look around. Water bowls in the courtyard for dogs and Toilets were clean.

This is such an amazing park, for people living around it’s a bliss. It is such a large and lovely place. Large tress with water bodies running canals gives a wholesome feel of forest and countryside.

Amazing and beautiful park for walks with your dog. It has a lot to offer not only to pet owners but also to parents or anyone who enjoys nature 2h free parking included but remember to take a ticket even for free period. There are at least 2 cafe points there, these are a bit pricey but they have good coffee.

The park is our lifeline. The cafes are fantastic so as the people. I feel relaxed and overwhelmed with natural feelings. We also enjoy the fireworks every year. It’s a great experience.

I recently visited Cassiobury Park for the Bake Fest event, and it was a really lovely experience. The park itself is beautiful — spacious, green, and well looked after, with plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. The Bake Fest was a real highlight: so many stalls with delicious baked goods, as cakes and pastries. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and it felt like a great community event. Cassiobury Park is already a great place to spend time, whether for a walk, picnic, or just to relax outdoors, and events like Bake Fest make it even more special. I’d definitely recommend visiting, especially when something like this is happening!

Lovely and clean park. Good for running, walking your pets, or just chilling. Quiet and serene with lots of seating areas and a small play area for kids. There's also a canal there with a mini waterfall that looks nice.

Amazing place! Its been many years since I was last there and its nice that more things have been added in that time. Went during the dark arts time and was fun to see the death eather preforming at different locations around the studio. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Harry Potter! The lay out is brilliant and just getting to see how it was all made is amazing.

Where do I start! Absolutely amazing experience. A must visit for all the potter heads out there. Being a core fan of the book, the movie sets was truly a visual treat. I visited during the Dark Arts theme right after Halloween. The entire tour looked like a carefully planned adventure. The atmosphere felt do lively - kudos to the employees and the guides. A kind employee even took my picture (I was on a solo trip!). I saw the butter beer had mixed reviews. But I personally devoured it. It was refreshing after a long walk. Food was alright, not a fan of the unsalted fries. Some spaces did feel a bit rushed, specially people pushing and hovering around impatiently. Could see the kids engaging a lot with the sets. The photo booths are cute, however felt like a rip-off to have a poster print for £20! Considering the high turnaround rate, they could reduce the price. The broom videos looked a bit tacky but would be a fun try out for kids. Loved the small performance by the Death Eaters who kindly let us take pictures together! Cried myself through the pricey souvenirs, but the butter beer packs were a steal! For folks who can’t find the tickets during the holidays, keep checking every single day twice. I got mine on a random day check, and snagged it right away! They were kind enough to swap me to a different slot (which I found again), without additional charges! Overall worth every penny!

We had arranged a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio for our daughter’s birthday, as she’s crazy about Harry Potter. We were greeted by Menaka at the ticket collection counter. She was incredible!! 😃 Super friendly and charismatic in every way, and a true potterhead too! Our daughter was fully engaged in conversation with Menaka who shared all the wonderful things to look out for whilst on the tour. We gained tips on how to manage our time during the tour, which took 5 hours in total, including a break at the Butterbeer Bar. Menaka also gave our girl a birthday badge and several other goodies, which truly delighted her. We were amazed by the genuine kindness shown to make our daughter feel special 💓 We had arrived over an hour earlier than our scheduled tour time, so Menaka encouraged us to enjoy lunch in the Food Hall. We loved it! All dishes were very tasty and generous in portion, so we were fully prepared for the grand tour 🤩 As a birthday girl, our daughter was given the special privilege to open the door to Hogwarts! 🎉 From then on, the tour was outstanding. Spectacular sets, fun green screen experience and entertaining death eater performances. Beware of the Dementors and Acromantulas in the forbidden forest! 😨 Overall, a superb day out made extra special by all staff members, though Menaka was our favourite!! 🌟

Went on the small group tour. We were meant to skip queues but we didn't skip the queue we just skipped the bit we were going to see. But it was still worth it to get all the amazing little facts that the guide gave us. We went when it was hogwarts in winter. The food here is super expensive! You can take tour own food but i felt like it was part of the experience so just went with it. Remember to get your free passport so you can get your stamps as you go round 👍 The tour was 4hrs with a 1hr break. We went back in so in total spent 6hrs there and definitely could have spent longer. Take your time and make sure you make the most out of the full day.

We visited on a weekend, expecting it to be busy, but boy were we surprised at exactly how busy it was going to be. After a fair bit of queuing and somewhat rude security personnel at the bag check, we finally got through! The whole complex is huge and be prepared for a lot of time walking, standing and walking some more (reminded me of Disneyland) to get anywhere. However, it is really worth it once you can get over this and that is speaking as someone who isn't a huge HP fan. The work on display is amazing and the attention to detail so very impressive. The displays are well thought out, but do make sure you can stomach the high price of food and gifts!

Weather you are a Harry Potter fan, love mechanics, art or any DIY projects - you will love it. If all I mentioned above describes you - prepare for a very long visit, as you will love everything. Make sure you book tickets in advance, as the are sold out very quickly. The amazing world created by J.K Roling and later by Warner Brothers studios, before advenced digital effects technologies were widely available - is truly amazing. It is definitely one of the MUST VISIT places when you are in London or around. You will LOVE it.

We had such a lovely day at Willows Activity Farm. The kids absolutely loved it — from feeding the animals to bouncing on the giant pillows and running around the Peter Rabbit play areas. There’s just so much for them to do, both indoors and outdoors, that we ended up staying most of the day without even realizing how fast it went by. Everything felt clean, safe, and well-kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fine (a bit pricey, as expected at these places), but it didn’t really matter because the kids were having the best time. It’s clear that the place was designed with families in mind — it’s easy to get around with a stroller, there are plenty of toilets and shaded spots, and you never feel rushed. Perfect for young kids who love to explore and play. We’ll definitely be coming back — it’s one of those rare spots where the whole family leaves happy and tired in the best way.

Went for potato digging. It was such a fun experience for kids. We enjoyed rest of the day at the playground.

Absolutely amazing place to bring the kids. I think this is about our 7th year of coming here and each time gets better with something new being added. Loads of seating, loads of toilets, loads of lovely treats, loads of great activities for the kids and lovely clean animals. I’ll be sad when the kids don’t want to come anymore. We visited Willows Farm on a Sunday for the Pumpkin Festival, and it was a lovely family day out! The pumpkin patch was beautiful with lots of photo spots, and there was even a pumpkin carving area. Our daughter loved the pumpkin hunt around the farm and was thrilled with her little prize at the end. There’s so much for kids to do — bouncy castle, Peter Rabbit shows, tractor rides, feeding the animals, playgrounds, mini golf, and rides. You can easily spend the whole day there. The only downside for us was the food. We tried one of the food trucks near the pumpkin patch, but it was disappointing and overpriced. The buns were cold, and the burgers tasted like they’d been pre-cooked. We also skipped the hot chocolate after someone in front of us returned theirs. We then went to the indoor canteen, but it was very busy with long queues and packed seating, so we couldn’t get a meal there either. It was a cold day, so a nice warm lunch would’ve made the day even better. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and loved all the activities, but the food options really let it down. We’d happily come again for the fun, but next time we’ll definitely bring our own food!

UNWELCOMING PLACE IF THERE WAS 0 stars I would give. Discriminatary behaviour was demonstrated towards us by staff. Unwelcoming. No understanding towards children. My son who was over 90cm was denied access to areas that he was actually eligible for. Do not waste your money here. Also on weekdays majority areas are shut with one staff working and the shows do not run. Grandparent’s paradise - a full day of entertainment for under 9’s. Great attraction good parking, well organised with really nice staff. If it’s dry there’s lots to do. Not so great in the wet. Indoor play area and soft play is a bit tired but the kids still love it. Toilets everywhere and good quality play equipment/bouncy castles. What’s not to like?

We recently spent a memorable day at Willows Activity Farm, and it truly exceeded our expectations! Visiting with two other families with children around 3.5 years old, we all had a fantastic time exploring the farm, especially with the added Halloween decorations and pumpkin patches for the season. Lucky for us, we enjoyed a sunny day—quite a treat for October in England—which made the visit even more enjoyable. Willows Activity Farm is packed with a variety of activities that kept the kids entertained from start to finish. 1.Animal Feeding: The kids were delighted to feed and interact with the farm animals, including goats and sheep. Feed is available to purchase, adding a fun hands-on experience for little ones eager to get close to the animals. 2.Piglet Race: This was one of the biggest hits! The kids loved watching the adorable piglets race around a small track, and the cheering made it all the more exciting. 3.Cow Milking Show: The cow-milking demonstration offers a great mix of entertainment and education, allowing kids to see where milk comes from. The setup is both informative and engaging for young children, making it a lovely learning experience. 4.Tractor Ride: A classic part of any farm visit, the tractor ride was a major highlight for the kids. It took us on a scenic loop around the farm, with plenty of interesting sights along the way. 5. Pumpkin Patch: Since it was Halloween, the pumpkin patches were wonderfully set up, allowing kids to pick their own pumpkins and take photos in a festive setting. Each child got to take home a pumpkin, which was a wonderful bonus! 6.Playgrounds and Inflatable Zone: There are several play areas with age-appropriate equipment for children, including swings, slides, and climbing frames. The inflatable play zone, with its bouncy castles and structures, was a huge hit as well and kept the kids engaged for quite some time. 7.Indoor Play Barn: A well-equipped soft play area inside provides a safe space for kids to play indoors. This is especially handy in case of rainy weather, and it offers a nice change of pace from outdoor activities. The farm’s facilities are excellent, which made it a stress-free day for all of us: • Food and Refreshments: With a food truck, café, and coffee shop, there are plenty of options for snacks and meals. The food is reasonably priced and family-friendly, making it easy to grab a quick bite or a refreshing drink throughout the day. • Clean Toilets: We were particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the toilets. They’re well-placed around the farm, so you’re never too far from one, and each was well-stocked and maintained, which is a real plus when visiting with young children. Ticket prices typically range from £20–£25 per person, with discounts available for online bookings. Special events, like Halloween, may impact ticket prices slightly, so checking the website for updated details is a good idea. Though it might seem a bit pricey at first glance, we felt that the wide range of activities and overall experience provided excellent value for money. The day felt like it was packed with entertainment and well worth every penny. Final Thoughts Willows Activity Farm is an outstanding destination for families with young children. The staff is friendly and attentive, the facilities are clean and convenient, and the range of activities offers something for every family member. The Halloween decorations added an extra layer of magic, and we’re already looking forward to visiting again for another seasonal event. In summary, Willows Activity Farm offers a wholesome, fun-filled day out that combines the charm of farm life with plenty of adventure and entertainment. Really enjoyable visit to this stately home although it was built as a museum to house the possessions of the Rothschild family. Fantastic collection of art works, ceramics, tapestries and furniture and grounds. Entry needs to be pre-booked via their website there is a long walk 20 to 30 minutes from the car park to the house or you can book a shuttle bus for £2.50 return, free if you’re a blue badge holder.

Easy to find with large ticket office and excellent parking capacity inc disabled with a shuttle bus to the house and stables. Property has an interesting history and easy to walk through the various rooms. Large gardens for outdoor walking. Plenty of food and drink available. House has timed tickets available online or at the ticket office on arrival. Staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

A good wee place to explore and walk (in the garden), learn about history, architecture and art. Perfect for couples and families as they have a nice cafe(outdoor sitting) and wine shop. Some of the areas were closed when we visited(they were doing some renovation/maintenance work). They have spacious parking. Overall a very good experience.

Lovely day out, and very beautiful architecture. Lots of walking, if you like that sort of thing, which we do! The Manor's history is also fascinating. We enjoyed it here. The gardens are particularly beautiful.

We had a great family day out here, the house is beautiful and full of amazing artifacts, and all manner of priceless treasures. I enjoyed the Solomon's temple exhibit, interesting to see how it may have looked in it's original form. The grounds looked incredible with the autumn colours, and walking around a finding little hidden details was interesting. The outdoor cafe next to the gift shop had lovely, tasty food and drinks available. The gift shop was very pleasant aswell. Every interaction we had with the people working/volunteering there was very positive. Thankyou for a great time.

Beautifully kept manor. Lovely to walk around. Kids can run free and have a look at the birds. Kids also have a nice playground to go in. The whole place is pushchair friendly. There is a steep slope down to the play area and stables bit. The shuttle bus is great if you don’t like too much walking. Car park was spacious. Great day!

I think this was my most enjoyable National Trust visit. One of many Rothschild properties in the area but must be the jewel in the crown. A very good tour round the house King Louis writing desk and so much more it was just amazing. The grounds were also extensive and very beautiful

I live in London, and visiting this city and this cathedral was one of the most beautiful experiences I had over the weekend. It was truly enjoyable. St Albans Cathedral is absolutely stunning — it feels like every wall and door has a story to tell, as if they’ve witnessed countless events over the centuries. The atmosphere is peaceful yet powerful, and walking through the cathedral felt like stepping into history. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves architecture, history, or simply beautiful places.

A magnificent architectural with loads of history and story. We visited in a weekday thus not crowded at all. You will be embraced by a deep sense of peace and afford to slow down to appreciate the view around you. Worth a visit together with the town.

The sheer scale of St Albans Cathedral, a structure of profound history and weight, provided the perfect canvas for the Poppy Fields light installation by Luxmuralis last night. It was more than an event; it was a deeply moving, sensory experience designed for quiet contemplation and remembrance. The massive, soaring architecture of the Nave, usually bathed in the soft glow of natural light or high electric lamps, was utterly transformed by darkness and vibrant digital projection.

This an absolutely stunning building dating originally from the Norman period but with additions over the centuries. The place was a pilgrimage site long before the Norman's arrived and the tomb of St Alban is still a pilgrimage site today. The cathedral possesses the longest nave of any cathedral in Britain and there are a number of medieval frescoes still visible; fascinating even if somewhat faded.

Being there you imagine that the place is nearly 1000!!!!! Years old. Some buildings were built from the Romans bricks. It is the oldest and one of the most significant church in England. This church saw everything. Besides that, town is beautiful, going there you should have enough time. It is hard to find the parking lot.

Absolutely enjoyed my visit. A stunning place that showcases its long history through a mix of architectural styles. I just loved every single detail, from the floor and columns to the ceiling.

Enjoyed our visit there. They have a free guided tour of the cathedral which runs for about an hour; I strongly recommend it. The entry is free too!

Beautiful. Great birdwatching on the main lakes with a number of hides. Some great picnic spots and a modern visitor centre with cafe, shop and lovely staff :)

The reserve has had a lot of time spent on attractions aimed at engaging interest in wildlife. The main walking route is two or three miles of flat, well drained paths which also have points of interest regarding its industrial past as a quarry and farmland.

Great location for a walk at the weekend. Friendly volunteers in the souvenir shop.

Wonderful, peaceful place to go for a walk or spend a few idle hours. Beautiful!

A hidden gem in Tring. Beautiful place.

Visited to see Wightwick Hall running on the Steam weekend. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Lots of engines to see around the site. Visited the museum, lots to see in there. Had a ride on the miniature railway. The cafe was very nice for lunch. Had a very enjoyable day here and well worth the drive from Sussex.

Where do I start, First of all the day out is worth every penny, the staff and everyone were super friendly. We enjoyed a Thomas and Friends day here where we got to ride on 2 different steam trains (Thomas and Percy) and enjoy all Thomas activities from dancing shows to craft activities. The model train rides were also great fun and the kids had a blast. There is also a very reasonable priced cafe in the main centre with loads of train related toys for the kids to keep them busy. There even was a steam tractor-trailer ride which the kids loved. Will definitely be back again in the near future, Thanks Bucks Railway Centre

A fantastic museum, run and looked after by very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and interesting volunteers. The full site is sizeable, with a huge amount of exhibits both inside and outside. For the best experience a visit on one of the steaming days is highly recommended, but the café and shop are open most days and are a delight in themselves.

Fantastic day out, great value for money. Museum opens at 1030 and first train departs at 11am. Steam train ride lasts around 17minutes but you can do it as many times as you like. Museum well laid out and informative. Cafe reasonably priced £6 for 2 hot drinks, £5 for two ice creams.

We have been coming to the Railway centre for many years and have watched it get better and better. It is a must for any transport enthusiasts and especially train fans of course. Lots to see and do for all ages. Loads of historic info for adults and older children and plenty to do for little ones as well. Miniature train rides are a great addition. Plenty of food and drink on offer especially on event days. We came back for Auto Fest which was a classic vehicle event. Loads of interesting cars and vehicles attended and there was Live music and morris dancers. Great day out for families and people who like nostalgic days out.

Great museum with lots to see. Little train running today so wonderful little ride for the kids. Large steam train running too so nice little run back and forth in the line. Plenty of information to help you along the way. Well worth a visit.

An excellent day out can be had here. Friendly staff, interesting stuff to see and do. Kids love it but as an adult there is much to see too.

What a wonderful place this is your visit, especially if you're a history lover or architecture enthusiast! I absolutely adored the rambling Gardens with a choice of different length walks, the cafe was very relaxed with a range of food and drinks but the highlight for me was the incredible tour of the old Elizabethan building by very knowledgeable and friendly Dermot! What a pleasure it was to enjoy such an in depth and interesting talk by such an experienced gentleman. We would definitely visit again!!

Visited the gardens only. Some of the most beautifully curated public gardens in SE England. Very lucky to be able to visit the East Garden which is only open to the public on certain Wednesdays. Some nice woodland walks as well although I would have to say that these aren't fantastically signposted.

It was very lovely place to visit. Free parking and only short walk to the house and gardens. Very brilliant, smiley and pleasant people work there, it was not a problem for them to help us use the lift a few times,so thank you.! It makes the visit so much easier and nicer. It's not easy to get around everywhere if you have a buggy or especially the walker.. Very recommend this place to visit!

What a gorgeous hidden gem just north of London crammed full of history. Very knowledgeable and helpful guides in each room. Check out their website as they put on ‘festival’ type events. The grounds are well kept. Only downside for me was you have to pay extra to go into the palace (£8 I believe). The ‘marmite’ fountain at the back of the house is interesting. I loved it. I will definitely be back.

I don't even know where to start to describe this fantastic place! We spent about five hours there and loved every single minute of it. There is just so much to see! We first visited the Gardens, which are stunning. Then we spontaneously opted for a guided tour of the Old Palace, which absolutely blew us away. I must admit that when we had decided to visit Hatfield House, we weren't even aware of the Old Palace and its significant history, so it felt like an extra bonus. Our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but also extremely engaging - a pure joy to listen to and get lost in the stories from days gone by. And then the house itself, which is absolutely marvellous in every respect. The staff in each of the rooms were genuinely eager to tell their story and engage with the visitors, so we were able to have long chats, which we thoroughly enjoyed! A long walk to the Oak Tree and back completed our visit, which exceeded our expectations by far. It didn't go unnoticed that unlike most historic houses in Britain, the gift shop was mostly stocked with local produce, rather than the usual souvenirs. But although we couldn't find anything to buy, we didn't even mind that. I got the feeling that despite all its fascinating history and splendour, Hatfield House doesn't seem nearly as commercialised as many similar places (we were surprised about the small number of visitors in the middle of summer), and that would actually seem a good thing. As a result, our visit had a very intimate touch, and we felt individually valued, rather than being a part of big masses of tourists passing through. Our visit turned out to be the highlight of our 10-day holiday in the UK!

Huge gardens & park with multiple routes for avid walkers / dog walking & a fantastic set up for a lovely morning / family day out. Easy parking, we visited their shops and cafe in their entry area, headed to the loo, got ice cream and made our way around their grounds in a beautiful sunny day! Might feel expensive for a walk but a worthy day out for family / friends and a great adventure location with food, facilities, and beautiful nature! Head here for a great day out when the sun is up!

You can feel the history at Hatfield house. You have the spectacular house, built by Robert Cecil, along with the old palace, where Elizabeth 1st and Edward would have been bought up. You can almost imagine them playing in the wonderful West Gardens as you walk around. The staff are full of information and love to share their wealth of knowledge, just ask. After the house, we went for a walk through the woods, down to the picturesque river. My mother is in a wheelchair, but we had no problems getting around. Everywhere is accessible. Just be prepared for some inclines in the woodland walks.

I had a wonderful day at Whipsnade zoo today. Highlights of the day were the brown bear, elephants, rhino’s, giraffes and the birds of the world show. Didn’t see the lynx which was a shame. Didn’t see a lion only a lioness and some cubs. 1 star lost because the tigers enclosure seemed really small and the tiger looked sad pacing around the enclosure. I also felt sad for the chimpanzee who seemed like it was having fun and was very entertaining but again enclosure felt small. Park could also do with more signage to help navigate the way around as although map on the app is good would still be good to have more signage as the grounds are huge and easy to take a wrong path. I also went on the steam train which was £5 for adults but I wouldn’t go on it again. Very big ground with loads of viewpoints and lots of walking however lots of places to sit along the way and plenty of small shops providing snacks and some provide food like hotdogs at £8.50 a pop. I much prefer this zoo to London zoo, I feel like you have better sight of the animals in comparison. One other perk about this zoo is that you can drive around the grounds with an additional fee. There is also free parking with easy access to the zoo. There is also an app with a live moving map which helps you navigate around the park very good.

We had a wonderful day out with the family. It’s a large venue, so comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Families with young children may find a buggy useful, as there’s plenty of ground to cover. Visitors can bring their own packed lunch or enjoy the selection of cafés and restaurants available throughout the site and near the entrance.

First time visiting, absolutely loved it, an amazing day. The enclosures were lovely and spacious, all areas lovely and clean, staff we spoke to were so helpful. We had afternoon tea at view point, which was lovely and the staff really friendly. The day was just brilliant, would highly recommend a visit.

Had a fantastic time visiting whipsnade zoo .. travelled all the way from North Wales.. Easy to find and access ♿ parking was just great for my wife. So much to see and do here for the whole family.. Loved seeing how much open area the animals had to enjoy compared with other zoos.. The zoo covers quite an area.. and it can be explored many ways..foot. train..or by car... Yes if mobility is an issue like my wife it can still be easily explored.. We seen a bus going around..sign simply said..Hail bus driver to stop..jump on a train which was around £5 .. Otherwise drive the car around and stop and explore where you want.. plenty of parking on the side of the road... please drive safely!!.. There is part of the zoo where you can only explore by car or taking the train.. Feels like your on safari.. amazing time When we visited they were giving the flamingo's a health check.. you were invited to ask anything you wanted.. Fantastic interactive experience Cafés , toilets and picnic areas are ample and dotted around the park.. Gift shop as like most places near the exit... Would love to visit again in the future as one visit is simply not enough to see and enjoy everything whipsnade has to offer...

Whipsnade Zoo is in a beautiful location of Dunstable Downs, there is a free car park off site and charge for car to enter, blue badges are free, you can drive around the whole park and there is parking spots at each area of the Zoo so you can view the animals at safe distance. It’s a favourite Zoo of mine due to care of the animals and the enclosures are well maintained. If you visit now you may find parts of the Zoo is being improved and some enclosures updated and cleaned, so some of the animals are relocated, the kangaroos are free roaming the zoo and can be approached but best respect nature. The only part of the experience that requires the most improvement is the toilets most are not regularly cleaned or look clean, the restaurants and food vendors do not offer quality food, the sandwiches were not that appetising and the hotdogs were served in baguette, I didn’t understand the combo nor did my palate. Not that they need a fast food chain there but better menu of food and quality would justify the insane prices like £2 for a bag of crisps. Overall I still recommend this as a great family day out but bring your own lunches and snacks.

THE BUS IS BRILLIANT! Whipsnade is an awesome zoo but the bus service elevates the experience even further! Lots of walking and make sure you dress warmly, but if you get tired legs then the bus is perfect. Can't fault it. Such a friendly driver (Gary) and they come round every 20 mins. Thank you so much

This zoo is possibly one of my favorite ones I have been to. The animals have so much space and the possibility to just hide away if that is what they want. We were there on a cloudy temperate day that made the animals more active so we got to see a lot of them. We saw the penguin talk and the bird show, both are very much recommended, but especially the bird show was super well done and very enriching. I have been about 5 times the last ten years and every time has been a great experience.

Perfect location for a weekend getaway. I visited during a kite festival and loved it! There’s parking available and plenty of hiking trails with stunning landscapes

Parking is £3.50 or free if you’re a National Trust member. Incredible views and walks, especially for dog walking. The main hill overlooks the London Gliding Club so it’s good fun to watch the tow planes taking off. Theres a dedicated area for kit flying too. There is a large national trust cafe and shop atop the hill, prices are not too bad and the shop stocks some lots of locally produced products (jam, honey, oil, chutneys).

Fantasitic views. I went with my mother in law and kids. We were able to use the wheelchair in case she cant walk. Fantastic service, they also have mobility scooters and small bikes for children under 5. I was surprise how well prepared the kiosk was.. There is possibility to use their overcoats, raincoats, warm blouses and wellies if u forgot but for lids only under 10... absolutely great idea... I noticed there are some activities going on and there was full list of things but i lost leaflet. We used main building for loo and its large and clean. We bougt second hand books !!! another great idea. It all looks really nicely run. All great! Views amazing. Was a bit windy but we enjoyed looking at gliding planes and it wax such fun. We are going back soon...

A nice place with a good scenic view for a day out, but the public toilets and café closed very early, around 5 pm. More concerning is the lack of public toilets, especially considering the needs of families, children, and younger visitors who often stay quite late. Quite disappointing, considering the management team's awareness of the fact that toilets are essential. Even though they shut the toilet doors at 5 pm, they could have implemented a payment system to allow the toilets to be used. I notice people are going to the loo behind the trees. Overall, a good place to visit, but considering the basic amenities, I suggest avoiding it, especially if you are travelling with small children.

Great place to visit ! Has a nice cafe with great lunch and breakfast menus along with tea and coffee options . Views from this place are amazing and also the walk on the paths are great too ! Parking seems reasonable too . Arrived around 1:30 pm and it was only £3 till 8 pm . It is pretty windy near the cafe but is a great place to fly kites which you can bring your own or buy from the cafe ( but expensive though cheapest one is £14) . Overall a great place to visit. Would definitely come again on a sunny day !!

What an amazing experience of kite flying !! If the weather is great it's definitely a great place to see kite performance and enjoy weather with family.

We had a wonderful time visiting for the Dino week. There were plenty of activities for the whole family, and our son especially enjoyed the "Time warp challenge" interactive show and the dino disco. The dinosaurs and cavemen were very entertaining 🤣 Our son would have happily followed them all day if we had let him. Not once did they break character. The play areas were a massive hit, both the indoor (which has a great selection of slides) and the outdoor. The cafe was good, a decent price, and had a great selection of cakes (the lemon doughnut was particularly yummy!) The animals all looked well cared for, and as with most farms, they offered lamb feeding and small animal petting, although we did not do this. There are plenty of handwashing stations if you do feed or touch the animals. We would definitely return and will look at booking for the Christmas event!

​Mead Open Farm has become a family favourite for us! No matter how many times we visit, we always find a new adventure. The hands on fun of petting and feeding the animals is a great. The number of activities is incredible, from the silent disco and racing gokarts to the big inflatable ball that the kids can roll around in water. The new pirate themed splash park is a fantastic and welcome addition! Even the British weather can't spoil the fun, thanks to the massive indoor soft play centre with few nice slides. It's an action packed day out that we highly recommend.

Fantastic farm with loads of activities for your kids to enjoy. Daughter was entertained for the whole afternoon and it was a joy to see and feed the animals. Highly recommend. Loses a star because sadly they don't accept cash.

I don’t know wheee to begin. This place is AMAZING!! Finally got to go with the whole family today and there was something for everyone. The kids really enjoyed it. It’s such a unique offering. With both the farm animals which are so well groomed and looked after… to so many posh and adventure options. It’s a full day. It’s great value of money. We were thinking of going to a theme park but with our one year old we felt it would have been too much with all the queues. We are so happy we chose Mead. Was a stress free day. No long queues. Good food. And so much to choose from. The foam party was definitely a hit at the end!!!! Just go!!!!!

Very mixed feelings about the farm. Comparing to others in Hertfordshire this is quite expensive for what you get. In terms of animals, if you are after goats and rabbits than that's the place. Other animals you can see - cows in the field, pigs in their little boxes. Soft play area nice. Food average, typical, popcorn chicken and chips from kids menu was ok. Play area spacious and well maintained. Will I come back? Not sure.

Mead Open Farm is a fantastic place for families. There are so many things to do, from animal petting to indoor play areas, high ropes, go karts and tractor rides. Highly recommended for a fun day out with children.

Adults night is hands down one of the most enjoyable experiences! Not over crowded. Food was great! Amazing rage of activities! Highly recommend

Once you're near, follow the signs for the national trust parking, as there are several entrances. Its £17 per adult, National Trust members are free. Parking is free. Toilets available. Cafe. Book store. Small shop. The grounds are massive, with many many walks to be had, and you can walk even further through fields. The walkways are wide, and well maintained. Good for buggies.. This is one of the biggest National Trust places Ive been to, and an excellent choice for walking.

WOW. Amongst the amazing treasure the national trust recommends, this was top of the list! The gardens, the monuments and the actual house were just mesmerising. We loved our trip and the whole vibe was just so peaceful and scenic. We didn’t see inside the house as we have left that so we can come back and explore it! We didn’t explore the gardens and the views were just breathtaking. I highly recommend visiting! And can I just add the amount of amazing fruit trees littered around are beautiful. We did pick some fruit (no signs to say we couldn’t, sorry!) Amazing day out

Who can resist the magnificent Stowe! A little bit of a walk from the car park, or fir those less mobile, a ride in the buggy. Beautiful parkland and buildings. Eat in the cafe or bring a picnic.

Beautiful landscape dotted with monuments, temples and statues. Be prepared for a lot of walking on rolling undulating paths and grassland. It’s 800 metres from the cafe/shop just to the parkland entrance. Good shoes are essential. Lots of photo worthy views round every corner. The cafe serves excellent coffee and has a good range of savoury and sweet treats. Also an excellent second hand bookshop.

Vast grounds, lush green scenery, and lots to see. In one corner about a couple of miles there’s glorious and historic building of Stowe School that offers information and display about the 300 years old dynasty and how they lived lavishly. Entry to the Stowe School building is £9 pp and must be booked in advance as it’s not a National Trust building. There are various statues, temples and old buildings in the vast grounds that are worth visiting. Plenty of walk and plenty to explore.

Beautiful gardens and scenic vast gardens. The house is additional ticket over the national trust ticket you purchase. There are plenty of big walks to take and enjoy the lake that has a lot of algae and lotus.

A renowned example of an 18th-century English landscape garden, developed primarily by the Temple family from 1717 onwards. The gardens were significantly shaped by a series of designers, including Charles Bridgeman, William Kent, and "Capability" Brown, transforming formal gardens into a more naturalistic landscape. The gardens are known for their lakes, artificial islands, tree avenues, and carefully placed monuments, including the ha-ha, which is one of the earliest examples in England. The gardens also feature over 40 temples and monuments, each with its own unique story and design. Great place, definitely worth a visit if you're a National Trust member, there is a lot of walking.

3 days golfing with the opportunity to play all 3 courses. Each course is 9 holes so 18 holes combines 2 courses for your round. Fairways are wide but the rough can be penal so club selection is important. Golf bedrooms are standard twin and well presented so no complaints… food is a tad fancy for golf trips but was well presented, breakfast was great. Overall, our group enjoyed it and may well go back in 2026

Lovely hotel. Lovely surroundings. Great place to hold work events & training. Attentive, nice friendly Welcoming staff. Breakfast and dinner was of high standard. Would recommend. Don't play golf so I can't comment but the course looked very well looked after. 👍🏻

Had a fantastic afternoon tea session with my friends on Monday, though getting to the venue was quite a task due to road closure but we eventually arrived 😅 Some of the staff were quite helpful over the phone with directions, upon arrival they were gracious enough to move our reservation forward as we missed our slot. The tea was great, loved the selection and it wasn't too much...just perfect. The service was brilliant and the staff very courteous. The grounds are quite breathtaking. Outdoor seating areas available. Good parking spaces available, tea room is very pretty. Their covid regulations are in place with sanitising and temperature stations dotted around. We would most likely visit again for an overnight experience with the Spa 😎🥰👌🏼

Interesting mix of 3, 9 hole courses to make 3 different 18 holes, plus short 9. Relatively quiet, very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in hotel which was large but had a good feel. Yellow 9 pretty open, red involved a few carries over water and but tighter, blue between the two for difficulty.

I've been to a few practice ranges and in my opinion this one of the best. They use Callaway practice balls and although they have a limited number of bays that I find more appealing. The staff and all very welcoming and they did, in the off season, provide a bay, tracer along with food that me and my son enjoyed at a very reasonable price.

Courses are nice. The bar staff are unusually rude. Just had a particularly frustrating experience earlier today. My group of four visibly 30-year-old men came in to the clubhouse to get a drink after a round of golf at the club. I ordered four pints and the woman at the bar asked me for ID, so I said I'd have to head to the car to get it and jogged off. Came back 5-10 minutes later and a large group of 20+ people was now around the bar. I showed her my ID and she said she was now serving other people (I wasn't sure if she was making our drinks or someone else's when I got back). So, we wait around 15-20 minutes for all these people to all be served and I order again when I finally get back to the front, to which she says "are the other three for them? I'll have to see their IDs as well"... Really? Couldn't have said that half an hour ago? They didn't all have ID because we all pay with our phones these days and haven't been carded in years, so we just left. They were next to me the whole time, so it was obvious from the beginning that I wasn't ordering four for myself. Frankly, it was very obvious from the start she had a huge problem with us and we were baffled why she wasted half an hour of our time like that by not asking for theirs right away. It was just vindictive. We don't know this person but it really felt like she had it our for us for some reason. We're not loud or loutish people.

Disappointed with the food in Astins, We had multiple issues with billing. We also drew staffs attention to a wasps nest outside our upgraded room's window. Maintenance came, but as nothing seemed to improve and no warning sign was put up, not sure what they did about it. Other than a verbal apology staff seemed uninterested The spa facility was excellent, as was the lunch there.

Such a beautifully presented platter of delicious cheese and crackers which we thoroughly enjoyed with our cups of tea! Unfortunately however my partner being a 6’4 when used their loo, bumped his head as they have a low ceiling. Also, my partner had ordered another cup of tea that was served in another table which made him wait longer for his extra hot drink. As we explored in the field, we smelt a wonderful fresh fragrance of Lavender! It did not look as purple anymore as I am aware they were going to be harvested soon when we went on 07.08.25 However, the Sunflower field did not disappoint us as they were in their full bloom and most yellow. Nice day out! We love The Barn! Recommended. Be careful with your head at the loos though.

Visited Hitchin Lavender for the first time yesterday to pick our pumpkins for Halloween. We had a fantastic time. Despite the big crowds the pumpkin patch itself was full of loads of large and undamaged pumpkins, perfect for carving. The decorations were fun and well thought out. There was face painting, games and a clown present for the kids. It very aimed at families and children however me and my fiancée still had a great time as a couple. Both the cafes were busy but the staff were handling the queues quickly and politely, plus the pumpkin spiced latte and Halloween luxury hot chocolate were worth the wait as they were both delicious. I will definitely visit next summer as a result of how good it was for the Halloween season.

Absolutely 💯 beautiful experience. Wonderful atmosphere. Gorgeous place and definitely worth a visit. Our second visit and it’s better than the last. The Weather was hot ☀️ and nice 😊 All staff were nice and friendly. The Lavender Fields was vibrant with colour and the smells were amazing. Food was delicious 😋 and delightful. The lavender ice cream 🍦 was amazing. Lavender lemonade was delicious and very refreshing. Overall we had a fantastic experience. Everyone should visit Hitchin Lavender. I’ve come with my family from Manchester.

Hitchin Lavender is such a beautiful place to visit. The fields are stunning, filled with rows of vibrant lavender that make the perfect setting for a peaceful walk and lovely photos. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the scent of lavender everywhere is just amazing. The café is a nice touch too, offering tasty treats and drinks. It’s a wonderful day out for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys nature.

We recently visited Hitchin Lavender Farm and had an absolutely amazing experience! The whole day felt like a perfect escape into nature — beautifully scenic, peaceful, and wonderfully pet-friendly. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning sea of purple stretching across the fields. The aroma of fresh lavender in the air was soothing, and the views were breathtaking — perfect for photos and for simply taking it all in. What made the visit even more special was that we brought our pet along — and they had a blast! Hitchin Lavender is genuinely welcoming to pets, and it showed. One of the biggest highlights was the pet ice cream available on-site. Our furry friend devoured it and couldn’t get enough! It’s such a thoughtful touch for animal lovers. We also tried the lavender ice cream ourselves — and wow! It was creamy, floral, and incredibly refreshing. A truly unique treat that we still talk about. Very warm welcome from the reception staff. Lovely nice clean spa. Had a lovely Himalayan salt stone back massage with Megan. She was lovely and friendly but professional and the massage was good. The dehumidifier in the room was loud and she was unable to turn it off. This spoilt the overall experience for me as I found the noise irritating. Pool area was nice but there are not enough beds or chairs for people to be able to relax and read in the pool area and nowhere else to sit and relax. Cafe is okay, prices reasonable. Overall good value for money for a half day experience but not enough to do for a whole day.

I had a Himalayan Salt Stone massage at Bannatyne Fairfield today, it was so relaxing! Christine was really friendly and professional and made me feel completely comfortable. The massage itself was a full body, the salt stones were hot which was lovely and also exfoliating which was a bonus. After the treatment, I wanted to buy an Elemis cleanser and Christine was very knowledgeable about the products and helped me choose what was best for me and my skin. I bought the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash and I have just used it for the first time. It had a nice gentle scent and my skin feels lovely and soft (which is not a given for me!). Thank you Christine!

Absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere, the staff and the building. We were greeted and told where everything was. The changing spaces were spacious and really modern. Lockers were a great size and the showers were lovely. Swimming pool was so relaxing with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Restaurant food was easy to order and not too expensive. Food tastes great and quality was amazing. Had a cheeky cocktail and that went down a treat. The spa facility was beautiful! Great architecture and a great history. The treatment was perfect, great room temperature, relaxing and I could have stayed for longer! Will be back!

Had a lovely experience at Bannatynes Spa at Fairfield. Me and my mum decided to treat ourselves for my birthday to a spa day. The spa facilities were lovely as they have been before and it was so relaxing to be able to use the sauna and steam room after our swim. I will say the best part of the day was our treatments. We both had mini back massages and facials. Christine was my masseuse and she was amazing! She made me feel so relaxed and gave me great advice on how to look after my skin. She was so lovely and sweet and I truly couldn’t have asked for someone better to give me my birthday massage!

I had the absolute pleasure of a deep tissue massage with Jamila, and it was outstanding from start to finish. She was professional, kind, and genuinely listened to what I needed. For the first time, I felt like I had a real massage—targeted, effective, and exactly what my body needed, unlike previous experiences elsewhere. Jamila’s skill and care made such a difference, and she’s the reason I’ll be coming back to Bannatyne Spa Fairfield. Thank you, Jamila, for not only easing my aches but also leaving me feeling refreshed and cared for.

Spa day. All staff very friendly. Facilities very good (full Technogym equipment). Food is good quality and reasonably priced. With vegan options :) Pool can get busy but if you’re just chilling and not using it to swim lengths it’s absolutely fine.

Lovely relaxing spa day, brilliant value for money with the 2 x 30min treatments. Mum and I had an express facial and back/neck/shoulder massage. It was lovely, we couldn't use the pool as a class was on but the sauna, steam and jacuzzi were fab! Great Gluten / Dairy free options for lunch too! We had a fab experience from start to finish x

I had a lovely weekend at the spa. We arrived at 2pm yesterday and left at 5.30pm today, once we had our afternoon tea. The pool is lovely and big however not enough space for everyone to sit round especially when it rains like today so noone is outside. Food in the restaurant was delicious, service could have been a little quicker at points but overall the staff were friendly and polite. Coffee lounge service was slow too, needed more than 1 person to cover.

Beautiful grounds and building. Super friendly relaxed but competent staff, good rooms and really nice well equipped spa facilities. The restaurant is great. Good breakfast options and a well constructed evening menu. Fast and friendly service. The only slight downside is in the older rooms there is no Aircon. If you need a cold room over summer it's definitely worth asking for a room with AC.

Had a wonderful stay at Henlow spa. Loved the aqua classes and stretch classes. Kim was so motivating and encouraging. Great job ! Super treatments and food was superlative. Facilities were great and gardens a real treat. Lots of space to relax and lots to do if you wish. Exceeded expectations.

A delightful venue in a beautiful setting. I enjoyed 2 treatments and the staff were competent, professional and knowledgeable. I had a lovely buffet lunch of which there was a great selection. The desserts were limited, but the main course options were lovely! We didn't stay so cannot comment on the rooms as we were only day guests.

Jackie Harrup was one of the best waitresses we have met, along with every other member of staff at Champneys Henlow. But Jackie stood out to us as she was our server. She was so attentive and spent time to make us feel comfortable. We stayed in the Shepherds huts, beautiful, but if you don’t like bugs, stay away!!! Nature was beautiful though

I am black and experienced racism at this place. I requested a massage therapist who had done my head massage for a full body massage and was asked to pay about £20 extra which I immediately paid because why not? When my massage session was due, it was a different person who attended to me. A person who wasn’t as tender as the person I requested for. I didn’t mind because I was told the therapist I paid extra for wasn’t coming to work that day due to an emergency. After the massage, I came out to see the therapist I had requested going in to attend to someone else. At this point, I went to the reception to ask why they lied. They refused to say anything and I requested a refund immediately. Instead, I was asked if I wanted a foot massage to compensate for this. I was scared that if I went for the massage, the therapist might hurt me considering what I had just experienced so I didn’t accept this compensation and was consequently bullied out of getting my refund. I still suffer from anxiety thinking about how the staff made me feel. I work and pay my taxes, why should I be made to feel less like a person because of my skin?

A relaxing and luxurious weekend at Champneys Henlow. We enjoyed a gorgeous spa break, complete with two treatments as part of our experience. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout, though service at reception was occasionally slow, with the desk often unattended. The rooms could use a bit of modernising, but the picturesque surroundings more than made up for it. The food was a real highlight for us - absolutely delicious at every meal, with a wide variety of healthy options that left us spoilt for choice.

We dined in the cafe and walked around the well laid out gardens. 4 of us took the guided 1 hour tour which was led by Ross and Richard. There was so much information of which we knew little but Ross and Richard's knowledge was superb. Definitely recommend the tour.

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. From a traditional full English breakfast to pancakes or smashed avocado on toast, Jordan’s Mill is definitely worth the drive. Staff are incredible, with a massive shout out to Sharon. An absolute powerhouse who was amazing. Friendly, attentive and I honestly thought she had a twin because she was everywhere! Touring the gardens after breakfast or lunch, is a treat for the senses, and walks off a bit of the amazing food.

Friendly staff and tasty food. Unfortunately most of the daily specials had already gone by the time we got there so we switched to the pie of the day (steak and ale) for himself and beef brisket jacket potato. Both were excellent: the jacket came with red cabbage slaw and a salad, the pie with mash, gravy and (unfortunately almost raw) tenderstem broccoli. Unfortunate, but the rest was delicious. Then we went over to the shop and bought some sweet treats!

We had such a fantastic time on our guided tour of Jordan’s Mill! Our guides, Ross and Heather, were absolutely amazing — so friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They brought the history of the mill to life and were happy to answer every question we had. We learned so much about milling and food heritage, and their enthusiasm made it all so interesting and fun. You can really tell they love what they do! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting — it’s a brilliant way to spend a few hours.

Lovely place to have a little wander with clearly marked paths throughout. The staff in the little cafe are friendly and it's always clean and tidy. A good range of drinks and nibbles are for sale, and the chairs are reasonably comfortable. The car park sometimes fills up quickly but there's always been a spot for me. A wonderfully calm place with lovely views throughout.

Lovely big nature reserve with different areas and trails. Lakes, ponds, meadows. Obviously cared for by passionate people. Good clean toilets. Some great touches...umbrellas to borrow and an all terrain mobility scooter. Visitor centre dependant on volunteer. Think they could make more of cafe...better quality snacks and even a sandwich fridge? Education centre wasn't open despite it being a special open day, and I think it would have been lovely to have more stuff to do for children using that space (not just for schools). Great for photographers and wildlife spotters. It's free, as is parking so certainly recommend going. Also check out their events (though going between friends of paxton pits and BCN websites is confusing to find stuff!)

A huge thank you to Debbie, who was a fantastic leader and organiser for the trip – so knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging with the pupils. We have a fantastic rapport with the team at Paxton Pits, and it’s always a pleasure to visit. Can’t wait to come back again – highly recommended for schools and families alike!

Lovely setting. A choice of walks. Never been crowded when we've visited. The visitors' centre is grand. The staff are always welcoming. Very reasonably priced snacks and drinks. Tea, coffee etc. Outdoor seating for warmer and drier weather. We used boots last weekend. Muddy in places. No charge to park as of November 2025.

Pretty breathtaking nature reserve and my favourite nearby nature reserve so far. Have taken some very beautiful pictures here. Love bird-watching and the abundance of nature - wonderful for IDing! and there's the epic waterpark and water sports (?) which we must try also. Always a pleasure to visit.

Fantastic water park. Online booking was nice and simple. The inflatable on the lake was pretty big and can cope with a lot of people. The staff were great too.

Everything is thought. Socks are so useful not to slip. It was like a heaven. If I don’t say anything about staffs it would be unfairness. They are so kind and helpful. From booking internet till finish session it is wonderful experience for us. Many Thanks ❤️🧚🏽‍♀️🧚🙏🏽

We had such a wonderful time at this lake. We did the water obstacle course. It was great fun. 100% recommend. Customer service is excellent. We were a little late for the start time and the staff helped rush us through so that we had the correct amount of time on the inflatables. Thank you to Louise, Damien and the gang

We were supposed to paddleboard. Despite thunderstorms forecast (at 2pm) we were not offered a refund. Do not book in advance they just want to keep your money. Edit: On the phone we were lead to belive that refunds are offered for thunderstorms as it is unsafe and therefore were expecting a refund. Had this not been the case we would have come along. As mentioned we do not live in the area so cannot make use of the vouchers. We were looking forward to paddleboarding and unfortunately your customer service has really let us down. Also, it would be great if you could reply to our email so that we can sort this out.

Finally got to pretend-trial my childhood dream of going on Total Wipeout :p Absolute fun, worth another few rounds. Only issue was the changing rooms... I'd love to be one of those people who strips off in front of my own sex without a care in the world, but sadly, we aren't there yet. Independent cubicles would have been nice. Instead it was awkward and impossible fumbling in a towel wrap for 10-15 minutes getting my affairs in order.

A really fun and interactive experience, a cool rustic sort of vibe, with coffee and ice cream, ok changing rooms and massive water park. Highly recommend the pillow launcher, and the huge water slide. Great for party’s and just going to in the summer to cool off.

Challenging 6000 yard course with hills and doglegs. Quirky for sure with tee boxes, greens and fairways crossing over here and there. Pace of play was good and the course in general was in very good shape for the time of year. Fantastic value at £12.50!

Played the course a few times now and to be fair not to bad. Very challenging in places. Unfortunately we played good Friday and booked for 5.20pm. We were allowed to tee off at 5. We managed 15 holes because of the light.. luckily we didn't play 18 as we would of been looked in.. the gate is locked at 8 which we weren't told and to be honest what club allows you to tee off at this time and not inform you of this.. to get round in 3 hours is not possible for our standard of play.. be warned other golfers .. dont get locked in

Lovely golf course my first time doing 18 holes in over a yr. Highly recommended to hire a golf buggy. 10/10

Another great course with great greens, true risk for rewards course, but be careful as it will wreck your scorecard if you get it slightly wrong on your risk

Had a great time this morning at Oundle Golf Club. Course in great condition and enhanced by superb bacon rolls and coffe from the Millenium Pavillion by the 9th Tee. The pavillion is open Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Wednesdays.
