One of the things we love about trips to France is visiting the great monuments to mans dedication to God over the past centuries. I don't care what God you believe in, these massive buildings are something to behold. And to think they built them without modern technology, building methods, etc. I find them both magnificent and awe inspiring.

Great place for an easy hike in the forests. The hiking trails are easily accessible through the town of Huelgoat. I recommend to visit the following places: La Grotte de Diablo, Cap d'Artus and Grotte d'Artus. I recommend to plan for at leas half a day to enjoy this place without any stresses.

Nice forest with big granit rocks, a beautiful canal and an old town nearby

One of the most magical places I've been to. The forest is quite massive and has loads of places to visit, I went for my birthday with my SO and we both had an amazing time. Heading into the forest you will see incredible natural views and even some wildlife. The fountains you find there are nothing but magical and you truly feel something special walking around in this forest.

A very interesting place to visit and walk. Take strong shoes and you will need to climb to a degree. The trip down to the Devils Cave is worth making but involves steep steps and ducking under rocks. For the not able bodied the lake opposite is beautiful and there are many cafés and restaurants nearby.

Excellent experience. Beautifully maintained and with clear, well composed explanations. The building is obviously a ruin but the work done to maintain it has been very sympathetically directed. Just the right degree of renovation, but with enough decay and collapse to maintain the romantic feel. We were so pleased to find such a site that we could visit without leaving our dogs in the car. Lovely Abbey in the sun or rain . The lawn on the way in to the abbey in spring is a mass of wild flowers and is beautiful. The outside walks are free , but you get into the Abbey itself costs , 7€ for adults and 4€ for concessions.(2024) The ruins are architectural and very photogenic. Inside you learn of the history, with cards in different languages and an visual display showing the day of the monks who once lived there. Just outside is starting point for the Camino de Santiago. The walled garden has many fruit trees, apples and pears , bushes raspberries, red , black currants and gooseberries.. It also has various old roses , that are truly beautiful and possibly unique. There are normally exhibitions on , and when I visited , they had tapestries of satellite images taken around Brittany. These are truly amazing. There is a cafe too , if you need a break . The staff were very helpful and do speak English , if your French is not so good .

Our visit to Josselin’s Castle was absolutely delightful! It proved to be a fantastic experience for all ages, offering something engaging for everyone in our family. Exploring the beautiful castle grounds with my wife, our 4-year-old, and our 6-month-old was both convenient and enjoyable. The rich history, stunning architecture, and family-friendly atmosphere made it a memorable outing. Highly recommended for families looking for an easy, enriching adventure!

Have visited a couple of times, gardens are beautiful and views over the canal are fantastic.

What a lovely little town and castle, as well as gardens. Situated on the Nantes-Brest Canal in Brittany, it is the home of the Dukes of Rohan. Most of the grounds are open to the public, as well as the first floor of the Chateau and part of the basement. A bust by Rodin is in one room and one of the Dukes astride a horse in another (a prep work for a statue now in the Castle of Suscinio). The village of Josselin seems to wrap itself around the Chateau and is a lovely stroll too.

Lovely castle and grounds to visit! We came as a family in the summer, the castle and house has plenty to look at and see, with activities for the kids. Everything is well kept/restored to a high quality. The grounds offer lots of private paths and things to explore. Perfect places for a picnic. Highly recommended!

It is free, visitors just need to pay for the car park. It was around €3. It took us around an hour and a half to walk around. There are some portable toilets near the car park. They are extremely filthy and stinky. Cap Fréhel is a peninsula in Côtes-d'Armor, in northern Brittany, France which extends off the Côte d'Émeraude into the Bay of Saint-Malo. People come here do some exploring the iconic lighthouse, visiting Fort La Latte, hiking along the scenic trails, and observing the diverse birdlife. When we were here, there were lots of people doing birdwatching. Although it was a sunny hot day in July, it was still very windy so it is highly recommended to bring a windbreaker.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. Fantastic landscape. Parking was 3€ but definitely worth it. We spent 2 hours walking around the coastline looking at the spectacular cliffs.

Beautiful and charming place that is worth a visit if you are in Brittany. Easy to reach, both by car and also by bus. There are also many cyclists who take the opportunity to visit the wonders of the coast of Cap Frehel at low speed. Also nearby is the beautiful Fort de la Latte where you can visit the beautiful medieval castle.

CLIMBING THE TOWER IS HEAVY BUT AT THE END YOU HAVE A GREAT VIEW OVER THE MEDIEVAL TOWN!

We visited Tour de l'Horloge in Dinan and loved it! From the top, you can see the entire city. It's a great spot to enjoy and take in the beauty of Dinan.

Excellent attraction in Dinan! Probably the most beautiful 360 degree viewpoint in the city! Really recommended. The ticket is also cheap. Our twins loved it. However be careful with smaller children, particularly in the upper part that is very steep.

Beautiful village. Nice and calm atmosphere near the end of July. We parked down at the bridge (viaduct, one way except for parking), and walked out way up to the old town. Quite a climb, but doable.

The place is interesting but when it gets full they close the door without putting a notice up that says “full now, wait 10-15 minutes” so some people gave up. Also video was broken and person in charge did not know how to fix it or get it fixed. These problems are so easy to address and would make this a 5 Star visit.

Not completely overrun so far! Gives you a great understanding of old town structures and has a super nice flair! Just beat the crowd and be early there to get one of the parking spots outside of the city center.

Historical & Landmark Saint-Malo walls This is a great place to come and visit. It is free of charge, so all you have to do is find one of the staircases leading you to the walkway the wardens & guards would have taken to check if the enemy was not coming ;) This is also a fantastic viewpoint and it is really good to start your visit of SM here as it does give you a perspective of the whole city somehow (obviously talking here about the intramuros part). The views were great & the walk is fantastic specially on a good day. Highly recommended!

This city is just one of a kind. It’s really crowded during the weekends and you think their is enough parking but their isn’t haha. We stayed a whole week to check out everything and it was really worth it. Go their during summer or during fall if you wanna see the big waves

A very interesting place to visit. Although the narrow streets could get claustrophobic if spending too much time there. Absolutely full of restaurants. We took the wee tourist train which gives a good look round without getting lost!

This felt like the oldest part of the city with visible ruins. Many crêperies & historical buildings nearby.

A bit of a walk to get there from the main part of town, and not particularly impressive. At time of writing (April 2025) there was a fence with advertising next to the gate making it hard to take a good photo.

I would have liked to give 4 stars but I think it will make more impact on reducing to make sure this catch the attention. I went to this park on the 29/08/2025 and first of all this is a very pretty and lit park. It’s free to enter and I also found some ducks and chickens I think :) (correct me if I am wrong) as I went to the park and explored then I needed to use the toilet so I didn’t check if there was any other as the Google maps led me to this specific toilet but I wasn’t the only one trying to use the facility. But,I am very disappointed by the fact that the toilet facility is not looked after at all. It looks like it has been clean for weeks. I mean how can you take care of a place you opened for the general public and the tourist alike, then ignore the fact that if you are expecting them to see there and spend time they cannot have somewhere to go and satisfy their humans needs(🚽🧻🧼🧴🪣). At least do some effort. Overall it’s a great park to visit but be mindful of this when planning to go there.

The prettiest park I’ve ever been to! I visited around 7-8 pm on a Thursday night (summer)and the weather was perfect for a walk. There was a modern art gallery plus a small bird sanctuary and the place is filled with beautiful flowers and greenery. I promise you will have a great time there. Bonne visite!

Very cute museum. There you can learn about Christian Dior childhood and see several iconic peaces made by him. The staff is super friendly and efficient. The gardens are super well maintained and beautiful.

Wonderful house with a stunning garden and view. Sometimes there could’ve been a little more translations in English, but nevertheless it was a great experience. I would advise to buy tickets before, I didn’t have to wait at all while the queue was long. The garden is beautiful with the flowers and plants and of course the view of the sea is stunning. There is an easy way down the sea as well. Can also recommend the little café in the garden.

Such a Beautiful place to Visit. Highly recommend. Great Free Gardens to walk around and also there are steps down to the beach from the garden. Also enjoyed the house and museum. Great for kids as upstairs in the museum they have a place where children can colour in some dress designs and do puzzles, whilst the adults look around.

Beautiful grounds but overall a disappointing experience. The house inside had been so altered to take the displays you get little feel for what it was like. The were a lot of designs by people under the Dior name but the was little about Christian Dior and his history and development. Only one toilet so long queues

Very interesting experience with the family on our time spent to learn about the birth place of one of the most influencing French fashion designers of the 20th century, Christian Dior. It is recommended to book. The earlier, the merrier! You may be lucky, and arrive without booking, but you will likely wait for a bit as the house can only accept a maximum of 50 visitors at the time. So make sure you stay hydrated and an umbrella may be useful in case of rain or blazing sun conditions. The design of the inside of the museum and the garden were found up to our expectations, very refined and sparkling. Just a bit of a pity, that some of the rooms are kept in the dark, which makes it sometimes hard to read notes on the walls. The visit is not suitable for people who cannot go up and down stairs. The toilets area is kept outside the museum. It may need a bit more signs for directions. But against all expectations, toilets were found very dirty and neglected (no toilet paper found in the ladies room). Except these things, it was a rather good visit.

Interesting Musuem lots of history well displayed. And you are able to design your own dress and leave on the wall. Gardens are very relaxing. A must visit.

I have to say my experience at these Toilets was very appalling. My reason being that the Lady running it charged 2 Euros for me to excrete my bodily fluids. Anyways there was another Woman working there who looked like she was at the lowest point in her life even lower than the Mariana Trench (for those who have been living under a rock the Mariana Trench is the deepest underwater trench in the world). Anyways, back to the story, as I entered the sanctuary of the Mont Saint Michael bathrooms a very pungent smell came about my nostrils. To my disgust I found large splats of diarrhoea smelted across the walls (my best assumption was the Charging lady from the start as her face looked as red as my little boys cherries). Anyways, my experience at the Toilets was not only pungent and disgusting it was filling me with gratitude to the fact that back in the Brexit geezer land of the UK we have access to free toilets. - infinity/ 10. NO BOSH

Majestic!!!!! Town is free to enter. The abbey is a must do, its the main part of the town, get tickets in advance and dont miss the audioguide. Best we have had and nothing would make sense without the context it provides. Do the abbey in the afternoon so you can make your way up to it slowly. See the bridge at high tide, so you can see the town mostly covered in water, for photos. It rarely gets fully covered and only lasts an hour if it does. Parking is $20. There is a shuttle, but walk if you can. The walk up slowly is the best part and only takes a half hour. Give extra time to walk the fields all around it for different views and the sheep. We definitely wanted a full day. Could have done one day in the town and a second day to wander all around the outside. We rented a car from Paris for 3 days. The tolls to drive there and back cost us about $45.

Very impressive abbey and small village built or a rock, just off the coast. You get there via a purpose built bridge. Park your car on the "mainland" and get the free bus to the abbey. Walk through the tiny little streets that look like the Harry Potter set! Unique experience.

Georgeous place, the walf from the parking to the castle takes up to 30-40 min but it's worth. When you get there you can walk through the surroundings freely, but you need tickets (in advance) to enter the castle. It's full of souvenir stores, some restaurants, WC...

If you'll walk up to the top of the tiny city, you'll think differently about your life, you'll be very happy and you'll understand...why it's important to walk up to the top and think about your life while you slowly look around, you'll understand in a second that we are so small and fragile ... Have been fascinated with this fairytale "castle" on a magical island for a long time. Found out more about it when planning the visit. This amazing structure was Gothic abbey and prison in the early centuries. High and low tide, day and night, four seasons give this abbey different charm. Not much light up at night, except in July and August, however you're not expecting big crowd.😉

This is a stunning place and an engineering Marvel. However. It’s a long drive from Paris and the parking lots and mandatory buss ride from the parking lot leave a lot to be desired. The bathrooms at the visitor center would take your breath, men’s and women’s. Upon reaching the island, the streets were very narrow and overcrowded, and it was Shop after shop of more or less the same souvenirs largely Chinese junk. Tried some poor quality ice cream. Unless walking on the mud / sand flats with the island in the background is your thing I wouldn’t wast my time here. There are beautiful churches everywhere in Europe. That are much easier to visit. And much prettier beaches elsewhere in France. The site as whole was a little dirty and unkept. I can’t imagine how awful the crowding would be in peak season.

We visited early in the morning — we were there around 7:30 AM. It was very easy to find a parking spot. Since it was early, hardly anyone had arrived yet, and we chose to use the shuttle. If you come at this hour, you can witness an incredible tidal phenomenon within about two hours and see how the sea surrounds the island. We didn’t go inside the cathedral. Even just the tide is a natural spectacle that you absolutely must see. If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful experience, early morning is the best time to visit.

There are a lot of steps if you want to walk up the towers and along the ramparts - with no alternative. It is in exceptional condition and there were free audio guides. Amazing castle! Such a large footprint! The castle is in a great preserved state, i.e. it is not fully restored, but rather a mix of ruins and restored areas. The place it holds in the city is impressive and tied to an important part of the History of Bretagne. ❤️

Wonderful little town, feels like 2 towns with the castle unusually at the bottom of the hill and the town at the top.loads of old buildings and churches. Really well kept with nice bars and restaurants. Recommend a visit here

Another great place to visit with lots to see. There is an abundance of restaurants located just outside the chateau walls. The town itself is very pretty with shopping and restaurants. Parking was easy and free.

When thinking about this trip, we decided to stop off at more towns and villages, as we miss so much when we rush down to the Mediterranean. This medieval village certainly did not disappoint. The castle and moat jump right out of the pages of history books. The quaint little buildings, the high up church, half timbered houses, and of course the splattering of bars and restaurants. The municipal motorhome parking area soon fills up, so don't arrive too late in the day. €6.50 gets you 24 hours, which is great value. We're so glad that we stopped off here.

The most stunning castle I have ever visited! Well worth the €10 entry fee, which also includes an audio device to hang around your neck that will give you indepth info about the castle at various points during your visit. Just be aware there are no dogs allowed anywhere inside the grounds, so leave your best friend at home 🙂

On the same level as the Victory Museum with as a topic the landings in June 44 to backup the invasion on the beaches. All is very well done, the visual guide I never saw anywhere but the should have that in every museum. My son loved it and said that although everyone is speaking about D-day experience your museum is hundred times better.

An amazing museum. 5 different buildings showing such information. There's one which emulates what it's like to be in an aircraft ready to parachute into the abyss. The noise is scary and gives you an small idea of what those boys went through. Most interesting and 2 hours at least needed. There is a cafe and shop, of course.

Really easy to find, good access and parking, gets crowded at peak times due to the nature of its significance both as a museum and town. The museum is not expensive £10 each and boasts pods of the elements of the airborne tactics and features. Nice to see an actual glider, aircraft and artefacts relating to their conquest of the village. Well worth a visit, toilets, shop, exit/entrance right into the village and famous eglise

Absolutely do not miss if you are near. This museum has been completely renovated with fantastic exhibits. Everything is bi lingual. Parking is easy in front (pay parking).

As well as the museum, the town is a must see. Watch The Longest Day movie before visiting to give you a flavour of what the soldiers went through, and then see up close how they did it. The museum pays them homage in a very professional way. Well worth admittance fee. A definite stop off for when visiting the normandy landings region. 👍🏼 Big carpark near to the entrance for motorhomes (€2 for 8 hours), and you can park there overnight for a cost. Several good cafes and bars around the square to make the most of the day out.

This museum is well thought out with approximately 5 separate buildings representing different themes and time periods. The museum displayed many authentic items of the different periods in history.

This was one of the highlights of our Normandy visit. The D-Day Experience Museum offers a well-curated and very moving look at the D-Day invasion. The C-47 flight simulator was a fantastic immersive experience that really helped convey what the paratroopers faced. The museum also includes a large collection of uniforms, weapons, artifacts, and personal stories — all presented in a very engaging way. One of the standout elements was the Tom Brokaw–narrated film, which provided an excellent overview of the invasion and the human stories behind it. The museum is located right next to Dead Man’s Corner in Saint-Côme-du-Mont — where a Sherman tank was destroyed in front of the building that served as the HQ for the German Fallschirmjäger Regiment 6 (elite paratroopers). This location adds a powerful layer of historical context to the visit. This is a museum you definitely want to visit when you're in Normandy. We did the film, the simulator, and visited the museum. The film is beautifully made and gives a clear depiction of the actual battles during D-Day and the days that followed. The 3D effect is fun, but not very impressive—3D films are a bit out of fashion in 2025. The simulator is well done but rather short. The museum itself isn’t very innovative, but the whole package is well worth it. We spent about two hours here. There’s also a lot you can buy, such as army clothing and even weapons. However, I do wonder if you’ll get into trouble if you try to take these weapons across the border.

Fantastic! There are many one-of-a-kind historical items on display here. That are attributed to certain veterans, many of which became famous due to the band of Brothers series. The museum does a great job of telling the personal stories of the men who fought and died here. The flight simulator is a must in my opinion however I wish I had skipped the 3d movie and spent that time in the museum. If you’re into ww2 history already the movie probably won’t tell you anything you don’t already know. in my opinion it’s for people who don’t already know about the events that took place in Normandy. You could easily spend a day in this museum. Spoiler, Normandy is full of great museums related to the D-Day landings. that are all failed with World War II artifacts. However, this museum combined with the flight simulator really is an experience, and I would put it at the top of the list.

A great museum — very detailed, with an excellent selection of gifts. The flight simulator, however, was underwhelming. It might appeal to children, but for adults, it’s quite basic, with simple effects and a very short duration. What stood out, though, was the pre-flight ‘briefing’ experience, which does a good job of making you feel like part of the mission.

If you go here after the Victory Museum you will be disappointed. It's more expensive but less well done. The flight simulator is nice but the exhibition is disappointing. Everything behind glass so hard totale pictures.

Great day here and exploring Carentan. Movie was 10/10 Simulator 5/10 ( don't expect too much). The Museum, and shop are FAB! I have never seen so much authentic 1944 /1945 gear for sale, amazing!

We couldn't come to Normandy and not learn something about the D-Day landings. The D-Day Experience was nearest to us, a good drive away, and Utah beach not far past it for a visit afterwards. Definitely pre-book to get the 3D cinema and paratrooper plane simulator experiences nicely timed. The museum exhibits will mean all the more if you have seen the film and experienced the simulator first. The centre is US focused as Utah beach was a US force landing. There is lots to read (in English and French), but all personal, meaningful experiences bringing home the tragic horror of the invasion, lots of jackets, but each one represents a life and individual experience of the invasion. The story of Dead Man's Corner is particularly poignant, especially as the house has not changed since the invasion, shows how the location of the museum and the DMC junction was central to the invasion and presents the German perspective in a tasteful way. Makes you want to know the story of each beach landing. A well put together and thought out presentation of a sensitive if very important world event.

Historically it's a great place. However, it's let down by the neglect of the area. Most if not all areas are no admittance. Barriers all over the place. The visitors center has no café/restaurant. Nothing for refreshments after a long cycle in the heat. My poor wife was exhausted. That's just my gripe and as I said, Historically very important.

A place worth visiting even as not of the bunkers are accessible. The main one was still open Andean be accede. Great view from the top.

Visited Pointe du Hoc today and was truly moved. The cliffs, the craters, and the preserved bunkers tell a powerful story of courage and sacrifice. A beautifully maintained historic site that offers a deep and humbling experience. Highly recommended for anyone interested in World War II history.

Very disappointing. In the name of eco BS, they have let weeds and bushes grow inside and around the craters. it’s a shame! They have put a fence all around the site, making us follow a path. Impossible to walk around the craters Bunkers are closed. We cannot visualize and feel what the soldiers have been through.

Famous cliff the Army Rangers assaulted and took on D-Day. Some of the bunkers have become unstable and to can no longer climb on them or enter, but the command post at the very point and a couple bunkers and a gun site were still open in May 2025. You will walk out through a field that is full of craters, passing by a display of placard that offer tidbits of excellent background. Well worth a visit to get a perspective of not only what the rangers had to deal with in their assault also to get a vista of the Normandy beaches and cliffs. Unless you have extreme of mobility issues you should be able to get all the way out to the point, As long as you can traverse a gravel path.

One of the must places to visit. The only place where there are still visible the shelling drops, the fights are still clearly visible on site I was disappointed that many of the places routes were closed, no access to get on top of the bunkers despite the supporting structures. This is something which has clearly changed recently as there are plenty of pictures available online.

Such a historical and somber site. I was here 50 some years ago too and the feeling of sacrifice is still as strong as ever. We were blessed with the honor of a wreath presentation on behalf of our group - Team Shelby. It was a short but very significant ceremony that I shall never forget. The French administrators were so welcoming and professional. Not a dry eye as they played the Star Spangled Banner followed by TAPS as the wreath was presented. Interesting note - the water in the reflection pool is dyed black to symbolize the death that occurred in Normandy.

Beautifully kept cemetery. The whole place has so much emotion. It was very busy when we arrived, the car park is huge but it can still be very hard to find a space. Easy access to the beach and bunkers/gun posts from the car park. This is a must visit if you are in the area and interested in the war/D-Day. Overlord museum nearby also worth a visit.

Great place to visit that really instills a sense of honor. When you look at all the grave markers it is really humbling experience. I would recommend a couple of things. 1.Take the time to look at all the maps and information when you first enter near the memorial statue. 2. The reflection pool was beautiful when we went so that is between the information walls and graves 3 I would recommend walking to the right and seeing the views of the water and walking around from that side and looping back

A beautifully kept cemetery and a somber memorial. It is most certainly important to visit to remember all those that fought to give us our freedom today. Must visit if you are in the area and want to remember the sacrifices made during WW2.

I visited the Normandy American Cemetery in November 2023. Although I had to go through it quickly because it was close to closing time, I was deeply moved by the history and sacrifice of those who fought so bravely in the war. For those wondering where the Niland brothers are buried, their graves are located in Plot F, Row 15. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful — one of them even guided us directly to the site. I highly recommend visiting Omaha Beach and the Overlord Museum before coming to the cemetery. It’s a powerful and emotional experience that brings a deeper understanding of history. Thank you to all Allied soldiers who fought in WWII. Your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Visited the Normandy American Cemetery today and was deeply touched. The grounds are immaculate, and the atmosphere is both peaceful and powerful. A moving tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of so many. An unforgettable experience. It closes at 17:00.

Magnificent cathedral both inside and out. Has impressive stained glass windows and interesting crypt. My favourite installation is a board running round the outer part of the crypt (mimicking the Bayeux Tapestry) but simply recording history in plain words from Jesus to present day listing significant events, eras and every single Pope with the length of their term ..fascinating

Wonderful cathedral that’s worth a visit. You may even be lucky enough to hear the amazing pipe organ!! During the summer there’s a wonderful and dazzling light show, inspired by the lush, colourful world of Alain Thomas — a master of naïve-primitive painting. Well worth seeing. Selected nights from dusk to midnight.

This ancient church is so amazing. Bayeux is an amazing town and this church at its centerpiece was a marvelous surprise. There was a seasonal night market I found and shopped for some lovely trinkets and delicious local sausages. Then at around 10pm there was amazing light show on the surface of the church. Just an amazing place. I think my next trip to France will be strictly a stay in beautiful Bayeux.

Huge and amazing! Startling and so thankful that this beautiful 13th century architectural marvel survived all the Normandy battles of world war II. Free to enter. No good parking close by except on the street if you are lucky.

This is a beautiful cathedral located in the heart of charming Bayeux, France. Looks stunning on the outside, especially with the background being the countryside small town of Bayeux. You can enter the cathedral for free and tour the inside in under 1 hour. The inside architecture is stunning and beautiful!

A cathedral that befits the beautiful city of Bayeux. Great to visit at any time but the evening market and light show done every other day through August is well worth experiencing.

I found my visit to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum to be fascinating. The audio tour was engaging. The rest of the Museum is engaging, and visitors learn plenty of history. PLEASE NOTE: tickets can only be purchased at the door; no tickets are sold online. I visited in August, on a Saturday in the late afternoon, and I only had to wait around ten minutes.

Visiting the Bayeux Museum was an unforgettable experience. The tapestry itself is perhaps the most extraordinary exhibit we have ever seen. The audio guide was excellent and made the story come alive. We felt very lucky to visit on the second-to-last day before the tapestry closed for restoration until 2027.

Nice little museum in Bayeux housing the famous Bayeux tapestry depicting the story of the battle of Hastings 1066.. In fine embroidery detail... Surprisingly how long and how detailed it is.... and definitely worth seeing if in the area.. Entry fee of around €12.. Fyi.. the museum is closing September for refurbishment and the tapestry is coming to London to be displayed Yes worth a visit and certainly take time to explore the town

Great museum to visiting, however it's too crowded. Consider arriving as early as possible in the morning to avoid waiting for hours to enter. Although an audio guide is included, it can't be paused once activated, leading many visitors to rush through viewing a tapestry in about 20 minutes and then leave after. On the other hand, story and details deserve to remain in the main exposition for as long as you want and explore multiple times.

Big queues if you haven't already got a joint ticket from another of the town's museums. Amazing to see this wonderful art in person. Somewhat spoiled by the man videoing his way along (against the rules!) and the people holding up the line - they could really do with a staff member in the tapestry room to chaperone. Also there was the bonus exhibition of Pixi models, including their rendition of the tapestry. The museum is closed from 1st Sept 2025 for 2 years while a new display space is being built.

Surprisingly good for children. They get their own separate audio guide which keeps it moving, and keeps it interesting. We were out in 30 minutes. The tour could have been longer for adults certainly! The tapestry is incredible, precious, expressive and enlightening. UNESCO listed, as almost 1,000 years old.

Our tour was just incredible! Ana was our guide and Sebastien was our driver. They were simply amazing and so knowledgeable. I thought I knew a lot about WWII until Ana shared some amazing stories and facts on our tour. Highly recommend!!!

It was amazing, well designed and very interesting. There’s also a bunker and a special price for students (€6). Many interesting displays are worth seeing, and I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

Fabulous museum. Excellent presentation of the historical path leading to WW2 and the subsequent events, not only in Europe but across the world. Balanced and even handed treatment of the role played by all sides (good and bad). Good blend of objects, images, videos and textual explanation. Perfect closure to a few days visiting the historical sites of the area. Highly recommended.

This is “THE” Normandy to take. Private tour with our wonderful guide Lena. Very knowledgeable and so informative. If you don’t want headphones and don’t want to read every placard this is the best way to get the Normandy experience. Even if you are not a WWII buff or into WWII history you will really enjoy this tour. I highly recommend it.

A pure and epic monument to the battle of Normandy and more. If you're travelling to or through Caen, this is a must see for all. Beautiful grounds, incredible memorials and history.

Mario (our guide) was so informative, funny and knowledgeable! He really made our trip memorable! And our driver (Leonie) was always on time and had the bus ready for us! She even had water waiting for us!

While I've been to better castles, the draw here is the impressive interactive elements that really bring the place to life. My son loved it. Great views from the top as well.

The exterior grounds allow dogs, but not inside. The restoration is unique because the castle was besieged so many times so there is concrete, steel and glass instead picking one particular period to restore to. The architecture of the well shaft in the tower is amazing as is the rooftop although I am afraid of heights. Different than other castles, but an interesting take. Walk around to see the castle from different angles, don't worry about getting straight to the entrance.

Amazing to see but the website said it was open but we could only walk around the inside the castle grounds because the castle inside was closed. A big disappointment travelling so far and not to go inside. Even the museum by town Square was also closed this was on a Monday. We didn't want to waste time waiting so we continued our journey towards Spain.

Best castle I've ever been to!! The castle looks incredible, it's in really good condition and is in an imposing location. The display boards and interactive tour using augmented reality via tablets (which including a little treasure hunt) were absolutely brilliant, an engaging way to learn the history of the castle. I hope other castles can follow a similar approach. I cannot recommend this castle enough it's a must visit!

Overall great hotel. Spa was disappointing as I had face massage with a guy who smelled like cigarettes...some of the staff, even in reception speak very little English, so I assume it's mainly French. . Dinner menu been the same the whole week which was a suprise...it will be nice to add variety. Room cleaning and room service excellent.

Very nice place to stay. Many amenities. Very helpful staff and friendly. It helped that they spoke enough English to make the stay smooth. The only complaint would be the small rooms. They are smaller than we are used to here in the United States but very manageable. Most of the time was spent outside of the room. Indoor & outdoor pools along with other spa amenities. Located on the beach. Within walking distance of many places to eat & shop & sight see. Offer bicycle rentals for further excursions.

Very nice an d new facilities, the hotel was built in 2013, they have recently added an extension. We had the "garden view" and use the junior suite for the 4 of us. The rooms are okay just enough space for 4 humans. But the bathroom is really good with a shower and a bathtub big enough to 3. "le poisson d argent" restaurant of the hotel as a nice sophisticated menu even if the service was very long. The cocktails at the bar are awesome. The whole personnel is nice and friendly.

Great location, endless succession of beaches.... And gigantic tides. Very nice rooms, 5 stars. They are all great, full of amenities, Ocean front or side view or garden view, all nice. Excellent bed and bedding. Very good food, quite expensive. 2 bad notes.... Can be pretty crowded depending when you are visiting. But the worst of all, the Smokers, too many every where. You cannot have a drink on the terrasse without the smell of a burning. cigarette, same at the ourside pool. À place as this one devoted to heath and wellness needs to be 100%smockfree, inside and outside. I give 4 stars

I was over the moon to have stumbled across this magnificent Basilica . In my ignorance I had never heard of Saint Therese of Lisieux , I certainly have now . What a glorious memorial to her this glorious building is . I could have spent days here and loved every minute of it . Bravo to the designers and builders . The locals must be very proud of Saint Therese herself and their memorial to her . I am so grateful to have been given the chance to visit . Merci Beaucoup .
