The Alignements de Lagatjar is a fascinating megalithic site with a rich history and well-preserved natural surroundings. It is located on the coast, near the ruins of the poet St-Pol-Roux's manor and the Chapelle N-D de Rocamadour. The site's massive stones raise questions about their purpose, making it an intriguing place to explore.
Nearby to Crozon and Camaret s/mer these standing stones are in a field behind houses and form a kind of circle. They are au naturel and you can wonder among them with hardly anyone else there. Worth a visit!
Peter S — Google review
This is a very interesting site, and it's special in that it's on the coast. It's unfortunate that local town planning has allowed building so close to the site. It would benefit from more signage and podcasts about the history, ideally in a few languages. It would be good to have signage in braille. It was okay to push a stroller, but I'm not sure about wheelchair access.
Rachel A — Google review
Interesting and mysterious place! The megaliths are similar with those in Carnac and no one knows the purpose they are here.
Carmen S — Google review
The monument ist quite interesting. I miss some information about it there. But the view and the landscape is amazing. But: Only visit it if you are close. Not worth for a long trip.
Thor N — Google review
Impressive stones. Parking for free next to the stones. They were build in the Neolithikum. Unfotunately many of the stones got lost.
Lala S — Google review
It's a strange place in a good meaning. I really don't know why this alignment was built by humans. It looks amazing. It's huge. You can spend your time with anything there. Go and check it out.
Enrico N — Google review
Great megalithic alignment, lots of visitors. Fair amount of parking. A must see for all you megalith hunters.

Chapelle de Notre-Dame de Rocamadour, located at Pointe de Rocamadour, is a 17th-century chapel with a timber roof resembling an inverted ship's hull. It is dedicated to sailors and highly regarded by visitors for its well-maintained interior and religious artifacts. One unique aspect is the map where tourists can mark their place of origin, creating a special connection with previous visitors.

(Translated by Google) A moving chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Rocamadour (in reference to the sanctuary of the Lot) particularly reputed to have performed miracles to save boats and sailors in distress, each time the sanctuary bell rings. (Translated by Google) A magnificent Gothic-style chapel, built in early 1529, destroyed and rebuilt several times over the following centuries. The sea theme is explored in all its forms, from the hanging model ships to the votive offerings, and even the lifebuoys and crossed oars hanging near the altar, painted in the unusual colors of white and blue. It's definitely worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) The Notre-Dame de Rocamadour Chapel is a place steeped in contemplation and beauty. Perched on the cliff above the sanctuary, it exudes a special aura, a blend of stone and faith. Inside, you'll discover marine votive offerings, hanging models, and a small, carefully crafted altarpiece that recount the connection between pilgrims and the sea. It's not a long visit: the chapel is intimate, yet it's touching in its simplicity, its silence, and the mystery it harbors. For lovers of religious heritage or extraordinary spiritual sites, this is a must-see in Rocamadour.

(Translated by Google) A charming waterfront village with various boats in the water and also on the shore, as seen here. These boats have been moored here for many years. An impressive sight, yet at the same time, you think, what a shame these boats can no longer sail. De Chapelle is situated at a unique location, almost in the sea. Simple inside, it's definitely worth a visit. A pleasant walk from the village. You can also find excellent food in the village.

Tour Vauban, also known as Tour doree or "Golden Tower," is a late 17th-century tower located in Camaret-sur-Mer. It overlooks a marina and a boat cemetery and is surrounded by a tidal moat with a drawbridge. This historic fortification was built in 1694 and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 as part of the "Fortifications of Vauban" group.
This defensive tower is amazing. All information available in English and beautifully presented. Well worth a visit

Small village with a harbour, if you pass it you can have a coffee here, but I didn't think it was really that great for an excursion. There is a very old church, a ship cemetery and a harbour with several rather mediocre restaurants. Our highlight was the "Terrible Bistro", a nice little bistro with lots of young art on the walls and numerous illustrated books.

Nice, tropical garden on the end of an small island. The previous owner did great planting it all, and the staff that is now taking care of the place keeps working on the nice base laid for them. Only culprit was that we got lost at some point and couldn't find or follow the arrows on the path (so we just continued our visit lemming style).

Stunning chateau with an interesting history. We visited during the day, so didn't get to see the light show, but saw images of it and that would be well worth a visit as well
Matt S — Google review
We haven't been there for many years and by looking at the guide book it must have been around 2010 or 2011, before the wonderful trees that are there now had grown. It was sad to see the old Pidgeons house covered in ivy, at that time it was a beautiful building to see, the château seems to be slowly being overgrown as well in places, having said that it is an amazing place to visit, the staff are extremely helpful, the cafe very good, do try the fruit drinks chilled. We will be visiting again as ther was just too much to see and we want to walk around the old moat area. The exhibition of old furniture is not to be missed, so glad it was able to be saved and now seen. Thanks to all.
Denis C — Google review
Beautiful place. Small castle but really nice. The tour is well sign posted. People lived in it not that long ago. The plus is that your entry ticket will allow discount on other touristic places as far as Brest.

Hilarious that an expo about animals doesn’t allow animals (small dog) to EVEN enter the courtyard- we were chased away by the ‘active’ security guard within seconds of entering the OUTSIDE area without even giving us a chance to sort ourselves out. Imposing 16th-century castle occupying a tiny rocky island, accessible by boat for tours & events.
Excellent for a morning visit. We sailed from Plougasnou. The boat was busy but there was plenty of room. The initial 5 minute introduction to the castle was only in French but we were given a guide book in English and after the intro could simply explore. Most of the notices and boards in the fort were in both French and English so even with our limited French we didn't miss anything. Would definitely recommend.
Andrew K — Google review
The fort itself is pretty cool, definitely worth a visit. I found the history to be even more exciting though! 4/5 stars because there is not that much to see/do.
Andrew J — Google review
We enjoyed the boat tour and appreciated that the guide book had English wording. The trip could be enhanced by providing some basic commentary in English. On arrival at the fort we found ourselves in a big crowd listening to the tour guide speak French. We didn't want to leave as it felt rude. It would have helped if the tour guide let us know in English that the non French speakers were free to leave and to explore the fort. Overall we enjoyed the trip.

Excellent organization of the visit from the start, with a straightforward, informative website, to picking up our tickets, to the boat shuttle. Knowledgeable staff too - and don't forget the gift shop. Quick, the last bell is ringing - don't miss your trip back to the mainland!

A beautifully restored coastal fort with much effort put into informing and interpreting its usage and siting, along with the history of the site. A great little self guided tour - the information boards are in both French and English - thankyou! Its worth visiting the gift shop for some unique presents too.

Musée de l'ancienne abbaye de Landévennec

History museum
Sights & Landmarks
Musée de l'ancienne abbaye de Landévennec is a historical site located in a picturesque setting on a headland within the bay. Founded in the fifth century, it is believed to be the oldest monastery in Brittany. The museum offers engaging activities for children and informative displays about the history of the abbey, including traditional clothing and artifacts to try on. Visitors can also enjoy concerts and explore the surrounding gardens.
Lovely place to visit. Car parking. The staff were nice. It's interesting and atmospheric.

Lovely Abbey to visit. Allow at least 2hrs to take it all in.
Phil P — Google review
Visited on a rainy day and this place saved us from the drizzle, two small kids had fun. Lots of little activities left out for kids, good animations of history stories, traditional clothing, helmets and shields to try on too. Clearly had a fair bit of investment in its setup, the ruins themself didn't seem particularly spectacular but the museum made up for that for us. Not a lot in the village, a crêpe restaurant and a simple cafe that sold sandwiches. We visited the cafe as the restaurant (more upmarket) said they were full (perhaps they didn't want soggy kids), the lady in the cafe was lovely and made huge simple baguette sandwiches for us, very basic, I imagine it hasn't changed in many many years. That's not a complaint. Free parking for all vehicles next to the tourist information, or some parking at the museum. Few motorhomes that had probably been next to the tourist information place for a few days.

Nestled in the charming seaside village of Audierne, L'Aquashow offers a delightful experience that exceeds expectations. This attraction features an impressive bird show where majestic birds like eagles and owls showcase their skills against a stunning backdrop. While the show is conducted in French, it remains captivating for all ages. Visitors can also enjoy an aquarium filled with fascinating marine life, including local fish and mesmerizing jellyfish displays.
The aquarium was excellent - lots of fish we hadn't seen before and a very curious octopus. We thoroughly enjoyed the bird of prey show, which lasted for around an hour. The animals were incredible and to be able to see them up close was amazing. We had some drinks at the cafe and prices were reasonable. We didn't eat as one of the party has a food allergy, so unable to comment on the food. A fun way to spend a few hours!
Michelle A — Google review
Review from an irish, English speaking family with five children aged between 7 and 16. It's reasonably priced for an attraction when you include the bird show. Firstly there are plenty of ample free parking near the premises. We chose this aquarium as it was know for its bird show. Now although only a few, I must admit the birds they had were stunning and well kept. The overall aquarium experience is short, but my children highly enjoyed it. I must warn though, that the bird show is not spoken in any form of English, so its impossible to know what's being said without knowing the language, for us that was only slightly disappointing but when thaught about also to be expected. that being said I could tell by it, that alot of information is given and several questions answered. It's obvious a lot of work has gone into training the birds and the show. I'd highly recommend it to any French speaking tourists.
R R — Google review
A large aquarium also with birds of prey. I always find it difficult to score such places as it's sad seeing animals in captivity. All the animals were well presented and appeared healthy (I'm not a vet). The sea life and tanks were interesting and all the information cards were in French and English.
Nick H — Google review
Great place and well worth the visit. It is not particularly a big place and you do get around it quickly but the birds they have are amazing. They all seem well looked after. The aquarium section is really interesting aswell with descriptions and explanations in both English and French. The staff were all very friendly and the bird show is brilliant. It is only in French ( which is to be expected) so we did not understand what was being said but you can clearly tell they really know their stuff and the birds get so close to you. Delighted we made the trip and would highly recommend.
Mike — Google review
My family and I enjoyed going here. A shame that we were unaware that the restaurant needed reservations.
Jamie K — Google review
Really good aquarium with some unusual fish. The bird display is top notch. One of the best I've seen, with some unusual additions, including fishing cormorants. Very reasonably priced as well, with a free car park.
George C — Google review
At Aquashow you’re treated to stunning aquariums and a bird show you won’t forget anytime soon. The staff is super friendly – you almost feel like a fish in water yourself. 🐠 The bird show is entirely in French… so if bonjour and merci are the limits of your vocabulary, you might look a bit lost. But no worries: the birds perform without subtitles, and that’s just as impressive. 🐦✨ The rest of the explanations are in both French and English, so you’ll be just fine. All in all: educational, fun, and definitely worth a visit!
Carine V — Google review
There is an aviary and an aquarium on site. On Sundays the food & bar is closed but there’s an amazing blue van creperie close by 😉. The birds of prey are impressive and the kids particularly loved the jelly fish displays inside

One is the "enclos paroissal" and a fine example at that. It is an enclosed church with site buildings, churchyard and some artwork thrown in. It is all very cosy. The are free guides available (at least in the high season) who just start explaining things as soon as some people gather around then. It's all very informal. Inside there is some fine painted woodwork.

Wow what a church! Beautiful, I've never seen any church in this style in England. Although the stone cross looks a bit scary. I wouldn't like to walk near it in the wind or if there was an earthquake. I cycle tours into town for the BCN/BPF stamp. Well worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) One of the most beautiful villages in France. Its preserved architecture is a delight for the eyes of this small town of character. I had the chance to meet and chat with Clarisse, who runs the small boutique "Les Sylphides". He is an incredible person, the memory of Locronan, religious buildings and the department of Finistère. Her shop is admirably kept and she will not fail to chat with little touches of humor. She will perhaps remember me and my wife, because I had the delicacy to say "Mrs. Clarisse" in our conversation, and she spontaneously replied, "phew, it's not Mrs. Claude". I ADORE. For our next visit she promised me a medal, the only one she still has. I will not fail to go see her and pay her a little friendly visit. Of course I did some Breton shopping. Sa boutique est admirablement tenue et elle ne manquera pas de discuter avec des petites pointes d'humour. (Translated by Google) We went to the chocolate shop with a group of children aged 7 to 11. We watched a film and toured the workshop independently. Then, when we returned to the store, the saleswoman didn't pay any attention to us. We were expecting to be able to taste the chocolates as agreed, but we had to ask her after 10 minutes for her to inform us that we only had to taste what was presented on the table. She reprimanded us firmly during the tasting because we had the misfortune (innocently) of going behind the counter to taste. When she started refilling the plates, we realized it was time to leave. We had planned to take several things from the store for the children to taste, but we settled for only the bare minimum given her attitude. Too bad... Vedettes de l'Odet offers short and longer cruises along the Odet, providing a perfect way to explore the beauty of the Breton Riviera and discover the enchanting Glenan Islands. The archipelago, with its seven islands, boasts white sandy beaches and emerald-green waters that create a tropical-like paradise in the middle of the ocean. Additionally, they provide informative commentary in both French and English during their cruises.
We went on the cruise to the îsles de Glénan starting from Bénodet. Absolutely fabulous! The cruise was great with enthusiastic explanations of our guide on the boat. Fascinating stories involving the audience. Great views, exotic lagoons. Definitely a must do!

We had a great cruise over the river Odet. The trip was from Benodet to Quimper and back. We saw a great amount of house/manors. My wife and two oldest children has also a boat trip with a fast boat towards several ilands to see the great nature between benodet and the ilands. They als saw seals and a lot of birds. Great trips.

Think twice before booking the boat tour. It's not exactly cheap and we were left stranded in Quimper because we were given the wrong time for the return bus to the port by the booking office. And the bus does not hang around if you are given the right time. We arrived 2 mins late for the correct time. We rang the office for help and we were told to just get a taxi back. With 2 small children in tow and not much French language between us we are hoping to get back in time to have a full blow out with the booking office.

TOURIST TRAP: 49 Euros per person for going to a very small island were you can walk around for about 20 to 25 minutes. Nothing there to see except 2 full bars where people are drinking beers and such. The tour was boring-- most of the Glenan Islands are little pieces of land with nothing on them. Certainly overly hyped but very disappointing in person.
Eric B — Google review
We took the cruise on the l'Odet up to almost Quimper. Enthousiastic guide who explains all the sights in both French and English.
Erik — Google review
They have short cruises across the Odet that only cost a couple of Euros. They also do longer cruises to St Marie. If you don't fancy a cruise then the tourist road train picks up outside every hour. Judy be careful they on Monday's they have they market so the train doesn't go to the port until the afternoon.

Domain Trévarez

Castle
Nature & Parks
Late-19th-century restored castle in pink brick housing an exhibition of its past & floral gardens.
Magnificent and well kept park. Really enjoyed a stroll there with the picturesque views. Don't forget to pack a picnic lunch. Lovely little museum and bookshop in the château itself.
Bianca — Google review
The garden is great at all seasons, and the exhibitions vary according to the years. An interesting, quite romantic place to visit. You can also trust the lunch and snacks served at the café.

We almost bumped into this place by chance. It is well hidden in the country outside Chateau Neuf Le Faou. Park and gardens are beautiful and the building in itself is a constant memento of the true substance with which the Belle Epoque was made, it being erected at the end of 19th century. It makes you more historically conscious, if I may say so.

Beautiful chateau and lovely woodland gardens. Very highly recommended
Robin M — Google review
Renovated castle with a beautiful garden, fun family games and a lovely picnic area. The visit is not free but very reasonably priced especially for children. Wheelchair accessible and restrooms available across the domain.
Perrine R — Google review
Domaine de Trevarez was a delightful surprise! The gardens were bursting with color – flowers and trees of every variety seemed to be in bloom. The renovation has been amazing, the grounds are so well-maintained. And to top it all off, there's a charming little cafe right at the entrance, perfect for grabbing a coffee and pastry before you explore.

Really nice castle ! The visit was great and super well organized. Very different from older buildings yet still quite interesting. The view is amazing and the gardens delightful to walk around.
Coline M — Google review
An interesting modern, turn of the 20c built chateau. Beautiful walking on mature woodland paths and gardens. The house is undergoing a major renovation but there are areas to visit. Frequent events and exhibitions take place throughout the year when café facilities are available in the old stables. Recommended.

The Closed City of Concarneau is a historic walled island town with ramparts dating back to the Middle Ages. The town, fortified in the 14th century and later modified by architect Vauban, is situated on a small island connected by a stone footbridge. Visitors can stroll along the ramparts, taking in panoramic views of the bay, fishing and yachting ports. The city's cobbled streets are lined with half-timbered houses and numerous shops to explore.
One of the most stunning places you could ever imagine. Truly unique and beautiful

A small, fortified city on an island at Concarneau. We arrived at low tide, and left as the tide returned. You can walk part of the ramparts but only one ruined tower. Inside, the city consists of essentially 3 streets--1 main thoroughfare & two streets along the castle walls. Most of the buildings are restaurants and clothing or souvenir shops. A lovely view of the bay can be seen on 2 sides, while the other sides show the adjoining town. Historical signs are few & in French only. We visited on a market day, so parking was a pain. We finally found spots about a mile away. Stop on the castle walls side for a less crowded lunch. A photo opp outside L'Amiral for Magritte & Dupin mystery fans. It's free to enter the close.
Chris C — Google review
Very crowdy and full of shops more or less interesting. A walk around the walls is your best option to admire the port, sea and city.
Olivier O — Google review
Lovely, beautiful ancient place to walk around. Plenty of places to sit and drink or eat.

Fantastic historic old city, we have visited 3 times in the last 20 years and are never disappointed. I can recommend the restaurant Le Penfret
Will M — Google review
Well maintained tourist and historical venue. Views from the rampart are great looking backwards the central part of the village.
Mario M — Google review
Arrive early to access parking. You can spend hours in the many boutique shops within the walls. It is like a Tardis with a lot more inside than you would have thought. Lots of shops, Cafes, and a Museum all within the walls. Enjoy the Celtic Bretagne folk music that is often played within the walls. Outside the town has many attractions too with lovely waterfront Restaurants and seafront walks. Fab place to visit.

Aven Parc is an incredible discovery enjoyed by families with children of different ages. The park offers a range of suitable attractions for kids, along with ample picnic spots and a restaurant where one can indulge in delicious meals. The chicken strips are highly recommended. It's an ideal place to spend quality time with the kids, providing both fun rides and relaxation areas. Some suggestions for improvement include enhancing shade availability and speeding up Pinocchio's appearance at the end.
We had an amazing time at Aven Parc near Névez! My family and I were truly impressed by how much there is to do. The combination of attractions and animals makes for a really fun and varied experience. From adventurous activities to gentle farm encounters, there’s something for everyone – young and old. I read a few reviews saying it’s a “small park, nice for a half-day,” but honestly, we spent the entire day here and still didn’t get bored. It absolutely does not feel small. There’s so much to explore and enjoy. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the relaxed and joyful vibe of the place. Highly recommend Aven Parc if you're in the area – it’s a hidden gem that offers a full day of fun for the whole family!

Please check about height/age restrictions for activities before buying tickets. We have twin 7 Yr olds who are very tall for their age. There were multiple activities that they weren't permitted on as the had an "under 8" wristband. This led to lots of tears and disappointment as they were activities they have been allowed to do at similar parks in the UK. If I'd have known beforehand I would have said they were 8 at the ticket office. Other than that the park was nice, clean, safe, and well laid out. The maise maze was fun but allow at least 1 hour to complete.
Liz M — Google review
Great place to go with kids, loads to do from an interactive maze to seeing pigs and goats to bouncy castles etc. Only negative is the cost is a bit high
Alexandre L — Google review
It is OK but, although it is supposed to be a non smoking facility, many people smoke next to children and staff does not care. When some children miss behave and upset other children, staff does not care. Waterpark with inflatables got over crowded with adults who did not care for children safety and yet again staff did not care. Basically, without ASBO and with caring staff, it would be great for children
Bill F — Google review
A wonderful place to spend time with the kids. There are a variety of age/height appropriate rides for kids. Plenty of picnic benches too and a restaurant if you feel like splashing out
Paudge G — Google review
First off the staff are extremely helpful and friendly the park has everything for baby all the way through to adult plan to spend a full day there and make sure to bring a change of clothes good dining facilities but equally great picnic areas All in all 10/10

Very good - it's now a few days full day visit - needed more shade and Pinocchio should turn up a bit quicker at the end!

The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Pont-Aven is a museum that showcases the works of artists from the Pont-Aven School, a group that gathered in the village between 1850 and 1890. The collection includes pieces by well-known artists such as Emile Bernard, Paul-Emile Colin, Paul Serusier, and Paul Gauguin, featuring styles ranging from Synthetism to post-Impressionism.
Such lovely place to sit on the beach and chill even had WiFi
Wayne P — Google review
It's remarkable that this impressive museum only opened its doors in 1985. In the second half of the 19th century, Pont-Aven held a considerable appeal for artists. They came here to paint, as the museum's collection attests. The term "École de Pont-Aven" only emerged later. And it wasn't exclusively French artists who came to work in this region of Brittany; artists of other nationalities also came. The museum explores various themes through artworks from 1850 to 1950. The different perspectives provide a beautiful and varied picture of this particularly artistically prolific period in Pont-Aven. A visit is definitely a must for art lovers.

Very nice museum, the current temporary exhibition is absolutely worth a visit, if you are in the general area of pont-aven. The permanent exhibition is nice, as you can visit some of the sceneries in the paintings within 5 minutes of walking along the woods and the places are definitely recognisable still.

A must see when visiting Pont Aven. Small entrance fee, friendly staff, wonderful historical art on view.
