Italian Ski School of the Brenta Dolomites - Andalo

On Wednesday afternoon, a beginner child was enrolled for four group lessons at the Italian Ski School of the Brenta Dolomites in Andalo. The organization was flawless, with six children and two teachers - Libero and Stefania - who were cheerful and engaging. The first day's lesson took place at the school, while on the second day, they divided them based on their abilities and took them to ride the chairlift.
Just came back from Andalo and my 6 year old son had 5 x 2 hours private lessons with Stefania and Giancarlo. They were both amazing and my son really enjoyed the experience. Special thanks also to Erica from the desk, the information provided via phone and email was very useful.

(Translated by Google) I had the pleasure of relying on this ski school for a weekend on the Paganella, and the experience was excellent. The booking process was quick and easy, and the private lesson was extremely helpful in regaining confidence on skis. The teacher assigned to me, Andrea, was professional, patient and very knowledgeable, helping me improve my technique in a short time. If I had more days available, I would definitely have booked more lessons with him. A truly impeccable service, which I highly recommend. Thank you with all my heart! (Translated by Google) Very good teacher Paloma, very good for her infinite patience that she showed with the members of my family, husband and daughter. Very good because they told me that she taught them not only the basics but also how to carry the skis, how to hold the material well, how to do it on the slopes and no less, I was told that she is also very sensitive if she sees people in difficulty on the slopes, which is no small thing. Anyway, the teacher in question was so good that a third hour of lessons was also requested to improve even more. Today we were on the snow again and the lessons were useful because the basics learned did their job. In short, well done, well done and well done! Congratulations indeed! Insomma brava brava e brava! Complimenti davvero!

Bodies of Water
Nestled in the Brenta group of the Dolomites, Lake Molveno is a stunning alpine lake known for its crystal-clear waters and family-friendly atmosphere. The surrounding area offers a slow but scenic road that leads to the quiet lake resort of Molveno, providing access to frescoed churches, wooded valleys, and the Valle Rendena. The region is well-equipped for families with beaches, gardens, play areas for children, and an aqua park.
A beautiful mountain lake which can get too crowded during summer months. Its much better to enjoy the view from higher up in the mountains than try to find a spot on a crowded beach. Parking could be a problem, dont try to find a place in the town but drive a little further to Ischia Parking - a huge open lot but still 5min from the lake, 2.5€/h or 15 for a day
Andriy S — Google review
Fun fact: we went there in 2021 and couldn’t experience the lake as much as we would have liked to because of the rain. So, we went there again in 2024 but it rained again!

Absolutely Stunning Place. We spent a few hours here. But after seeing it's Beauty I would have loved to have stayed here for a few days. Looks like a lovely community. I visited in the middle of May as almost had the Lake to myself but this was like 6pm in the afternoon.

In the summer, this is the best place for picnic. You can enjoy the view of Dolomite and the beautiful Lake. They have many bars and restaurants around. The parking is available so don’t worry.

Breathtaking! Beautifully situated and a gorgeous colour. The town itself is lovely and the added bonus, it has a chairlift up the mountain.
Fiona W — Google review
One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever seen! I recommend going in the morning to avoid the crowds. We went on a Thursday in July and it was okay, definitely enjoyable to walk around the lake and the beautiful mountain village. The public transport is also really great if you’re coming from surrounding cities (we came from Trento and took a train and a bus, but be prepared that the last bus leaving Molveno is at 18:45).
Andrea B — Google review
Immensively beautiful and quite easy hike around the lake.

Beautiful lake about 40 minutes from Trento. I visited in November on a weekday at it was dead. Sunny though with snow in the mountains. It was beautiful. There is several areas to park at, free in November. Can walk along the beach. There was a cafe open during the day with some drinks and food. The lake is definitely a must see. Highly recommend visiting.

Specialty Museums
(Translated by Google) Impressive. This little jewel box in the middle of the apple orchards with its ancient frescoes is stunning. The museum organizes the whole thing and tries to trace the history of the building and its changes. By the way: Proculus doesn't hold the rope properly, it slips through his hands! Still: worth seeing! (Original) Beeindruckend. Very nice and important cultural heritage, with frescos from the 7/8th century. Info: church is closed between 12:30 and 14:30 (as of August 2016).

A walk past it and through the apple orchard is definitely worth the visit. (Original) Sehr schöne, kleine Kirche in Mitten der Apfelplantagen. (Translated by Google) Worth seeing The fact that this small church was built in the 7th century makes me respectful. How many people have been here before me and admired the old, temporarily painted walls; how many people came and let their gaze wander into the space in front of the church. The small fee of €2 per person is definitely worth the good explanations from the employee. She remains patient with new questions and provides knowledgeable information.

Beautiful lake with a pleasant walking path around it: offering breathtaking views. One of the most picturesque lakes in Trentino and definitely worth a visit.

I hiked via Malga Arza and Malga Termoncello to get here which was a difficult hike to and from and a long way. But the lake was worth the hike. Beautiful colour and view.

The Lago is stunning and so worth visiting. It’s accessed along a 14 km road with a pay-booth at the head of the valley. There’s plenty of parking near the lake plus clean toilets. With many photo stops and a picnic, it took us 2.5 hours to walk around the lake on the well-defined path - you could halve the time without the stops. Check the lake is open (we were told our visit on 14/9/25 was the last day it was open)
Andy P — Google review
Lake Tovel is a hidden gem nestled in the stunning Dolomites. The emerald green waters are just breathtaking, and the surroundings are nothing short of magical. We spent a pleasant hour walking around the lake, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and taking in the scenery. The temperature was perfect for a relaxing stroll, and the only downside was the rather high parking fee of €18 in the summer. Even so, Tovel Lake is a must for nature lovers and those looking for a quiet getaway.

We had an absolutely amazing and truly rejuvenating stay! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The sauna area and thermal zone were simply outstanding – beautifully designed, relaxing, and spotlessly clean. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly maintained. The food was exceptional, with every meal offering fresh, delicious flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Everything was of the highest standard, and we left feeling completely relaxed and recharged. We will definitely be returning – highly recommended!

This hotel and spa is very nice. The staff is absolutely amazing. They are friendly, fast and they all speak English, which was helpful for me and my group. The rooms are a good size and the showers are big too. Some rooms have a fireplace in them as well. The thermal pools and the spa 3000 are so relaxing. The whole place is in the apps and far enough away from town to be quiet but close enough to be accessible. The hotel offers hikes and skiing and bike trail trips for a small additional fee.

We stayed for two nights, and honestly, everything was spectacular. The room, the balcony with its view of the mountains and cows, everything was perfectly heated. The spa area was excellent — super peaceful and relaxing. A really lovely experience! The only thing that could have been better is if the outdoor pools had different temperatures, as they were all the same. Breakfast was my favorite part. There’s a wide variety and everything was delicious! The dinners were also very good. I should mention that I forgot my orthopedic pillow at the hotel and asked them to send it to my home since I’m not from Austria. They arranged the shipment at my expense, and within two days I had the pillow at home. So, the service is more than a 10 for me. Thank you so much for paying attention to every detail.

Excellent stay. A lot to discover inside and outside. Great valley for hiking and biking. Inside: great rooms, excellent food. Good quality of SPA treatments, much better than elsewhere. Reception staff can be more into the details, it took a while to get detailed invoice, and only one person knew how to do it. Highly recommended place and we will definitely come back

The team is great the food is amazing and the whole place runs on goodness and love thanks 🙏

Boyfriend and I booked the evening Deluxe ticket and thought 4 hours exploring the thermal spa, sauna and spa3000 would be enough but we loved it so much we returned the next day! We bought a full day ticket for general spa and sauna which included free tea and water, bathrobe and towels and free parking. What a day! And a big shout out to Bobby and Ben who work in the restaurant/bar ⭐

The building of Aqua dome is a peace of art on it self . And the location is unique in the narrow valley when you are in the baths outside you have the outstanding few on the big and high mountains around you . The exterior and interior have a amazing architecture design. The decoration inside is beautiful and the furniture is beautiful and very ergonomic and comfortable. you can see that everything about the Aqua dome is intelligent thought through and with care . The baths and saunas also very beautiful and every part have its unique characteristics. The food is great and affordable. I have taken de vacation day arrangement which was very enjoyable with access to the private areas. This arrangement i can recommend.

We stayed as two couples with two toddlers, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Everything in the hotel feels new, clean, and thoughtfully designed – spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, and a relaxing atmosphere. There are over 10 different pools, each with its own character – saltwater, sulfur, warm, and even a cold pool. The spa area is fantastic, with both dry and wet saunas, and a beautiful adults-only zone that’s peaceful and quiet. The food was excellent – both breakfast and dinner were outstanding, with a great mix of buffet and à la carte dishes, and delicious desserts served to the table. The mountain views are breathtaking, and the kids loved the dedicated children’s pools with small slides and fountains, as well as the indoor play area. Overall, it was a perfect stay – truly the best hotel we’ve ever been to! The only downside was that after check-out at 11:00, access to the spa area was no longer allowed, and we paid extra charge for it We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing experience for beginners. The river is super clean and water is cold (perfect for hot summers). Our guide Lupa was extremely cordial and friendly, we had a lot of fun with her. The river was wild but not too wild, the water was nice and cool (we even went for an swim) Overall great experience!! Thanks Carlo!!

(Translated by Google) An older hotel boasting 4 stars. The food and wellness match it, but the equipment and room size is modest. In addition, there was no hot water in the sink or in the bidet. Only a little in the shower. The salt water pool, sauna and other wellness components were great. Food excellent. I recommend the hotel.

(Translated by Google) We're regular guests and enjoy the family atmosphere, the first-class food, the great wines, and the superb service. We spend our skiing holidays here as a family with children and dog and have never had a single complaint. The ski area is a 10-minute drive away. The food is outstanding, and the wine recommendations are top-notch. After skiing, you can enjoy the evening sun on the terrace with a view of the frozen reservoir, and in the evening you can sit comfortably at the bar with excellent service. A hotel of this age always needs renovations here and there, as was the case here, but the positives outweigh the negatives. We'd be happy to return, top location! Immer wieder gerne, top Location!

(Translated by Google) There were three of us in this hotel. Enjoyed the time very much. The location is unique, with a view of the frozen reservoir. The route to the ski area is very easy to reach by car. A ski bus also runs almost in front of the door. The food is excellent. There was a four-course menu with high-quality food every evening. Once there was a five-course gala dinner. The service and staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, the rooms are getting old and the bathroom wasn't exactly of a good standard. Brown edges in the bathtub from the dripping faucet. No shower curtains or anything like that. The tiles in the bathroom were also painted over with a very unprofessional paint. The heating didn't always manage to bring the rooms to a comfortable temperature. Because we didn't really use the room to stay as we were on the slopes all day and sat in the restaurant or swimming pool and sauna in the evening. The room didn't bother us much. We would definitely come back.

The staff is excellent - helpful, professional and always willing to help with any request. The food in the hotel restaurant is a real experience. Breakfasts are rich and varied, dinners are tasty and carefully prepared. Lovers of good food will definitely find their place here. However, it should be mentioned that the hotel is older and the rooms would benefit from renovation. The furniture and equipment look worn and modernization would definitely increase the overall comfort of the accommodation. Nevertheless, thanks to the great location, excellent service and great food, the hotel remains a solid choice for a stay. Snídaně jsou bohaté a pestré, večeře chutné a pečlivě připravené. Milovníci dobrého jídla si zde určitě přijdou na své. Nicméně je třeba zmínit, že hotel je starší a pokoje by si zasloužily rekonstrukci. Nábytek i vybavení působí opotřebovaně a modernizace by rozhodně zvýšila celkový komfort ubytování. Přesto díky skvělé lokalitě, výborné obsluze a skvělému jídlu zůstává hotel solidní volbou pro pobyt.

The Ristorante Chalet Lago dei Caprioli offers excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere with an amazing view of the lake. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. They have a wide variety of dishes, including good salads and fresh mixed mushrooms as a side dish. The price is fair and they also cater to vegetarians with alternative options. It is recommended for both quick bites or ice cream during a lake visit, as well as for lunch or dinner with high-quality ingredients.

Amazing hike which is not too heavy but offers beautiful scenery. When you’re lucky you can see some cows. We took approximately 2 hours to complete the hike. Parking was free but we visited in low-season.

The waterfall located in the heart of a lush forest is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable and peaceful places you can visit. The soothing sound of the nearby stream, the chirping of the birds, and the fresh breeze that blows through the trees create an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. This place makes visiting the forest feel like a true escape to a peaceful paradise.

Castles
Churburg Castle, also known as Castel Coira, is an elegant fortress that dates back to 1260. The castle boasts a stunning collection of furniture from various historical periods and features an impressive armory hall. Visitors are captivated by the fairytale silhouette and remarkable preservation of this historic site. Guided tours offer insight into the castle's rich history, with knowledgeable guides providing engaging explanations in multiple languages.
We enjoyed the Churburg castle and an entertaining tour, given by our guide Gunther 😊 The castle is very beautiful inside. I have never seen such colourful paintings preserved till our days in such an old castle. The collection of armour was impressive. Gunther made our tour funny and interesting! The castle visit is only possible with a guided tour. That is why it was not possible to buy them online. However, you can buy the tickets on site before the tour.

A Magical Step Back in Time at Churburg Castle! 🏰✨ Just got back from an absolutely fantastic trip to Churburg Castle and I'm still buzzing! This place is incredible. Not only is it steeped in rich history, but it also boasts the best private armory I have ever seen. Seriously, it's jaw-dropping! What truly made the experience extra special was our amazing tour guide. His keyring jingling with every step reminded us of Hagrid from Harry Potter, adding a touch of magic to the whole tour! The tour itself runs for about an hour, and it's well worth the price of admission for such an immersive experience. Parking is free, which is always a bonus, and there's a wonderful restaurant at the far end of the parking lot – perfect for a post-castle meal. I would totally recommend adding Churburg Castle to your travel list if you're ever in the area. It's a truly unforgettable experience!

What a wonderful tour! Our personal tour guide was amazing and had the ability to communicate in multiple languages with such great detail. Coming all the way from Australia, this tour is totally worth it. We learned so much during the tour about the history of the castle and the family as well. Thank you for a great experience!
Katarina P — Google review
Guided tours only. The castle is still the residence of the counts of Trapp, since 1504. The most fascinating exhibits are wall paintings and an organ from the 16th century, and the armoury. If you are in luck and the resident castellan conducts the tour, you are in for a treat, as he can share personal experience on medieval weapons and armour from participation in tournaments in medieval swordfighting.
Christian M — Google review
This was one of the best Castle visit I have had. The place is magical and its preservation and historical content is amazing. The armor collection is the tour highlight but everything else is also very interesting. We had the privilege to have a guided tour in english with Günther which was one of the best guides I have encountered for these types of visits. Thank you for this special experience!
GV V — Google review

This castle is a 10 out of five star! It is a must see above all. This was a bucket list type of experience. The armory is amazing and in fabulous shape. Thank you to the English speaking guide for making it a top notch experience. He made the history of the castle come alive. If you are going to this region Churburg Castle should be on your list.

Fun & Games
Nestled on a sunny plateau, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is a top choice for families and avid skiers alike. The ski resort offers an array of slopes catering to beginners, intermediates, and advanced skiers and snowboarders. With lifts reaching up to 2,820m, the area boasts ample vertical terrain and challenging runs.
Best resort I have ever skied! Came here around Christmas with my wife... Huge slopes, snow was great, weather was great. No lines. Amazing lifts. Friendly staff and people. Overall the is my all time favorite ski slope!
Phil G — Google review
Big area, but the quality of skiing very much depending on being on the north side (less sun impact) and altitude (1800-2800m). This leaves the Nordseite above Fiss & Ladis and the Lazid / Scheid and Masner areas further away from Serfaus as the best areas. The areas to and back from these areas are really bad in the afternoon when temperatures are above zero and sunshine (slush snow and pistes a mess). So once in an area with good conditions better to stay there till the end of the day. Higher areas are subject to poor visibility when low clouds, though. Overall I would not recommend this area for beginners to medium level skiers, unless very small children that stay in Berta’s Kinderland areas. For skilled skiers the area is much better suited with most pistes challenging red and black ones. My preferred area was the Nordseite. Since only red and black pistes there, not much bad skiers around, and being at the extreme end of the area also less crowded, especially the area of the Almbahn gondola and 12er-bahn chairlift. Nice stop there is the Schöngampalm restaurant, just before the Almbahn gondola. Ladis is very small and quiet, more focussed on families with small children. Fiss is much bigger and best located in the centre of the whole area. Serfaus is also big and more happening, but logistically more challenging, with the metro playing a big part in logistics (cars only allowed for check in & out), with the ski lifts only at the complete other end of the village from the entrance and car park. Overall I enjoyed my stay from 15-22 March, but I will not return here due to the mentioned fluctuations in ski conditions between the sub-areas, with much better areas nearby for the same price level.
Pedro P — Google review
My family and I have had a wonderful experience here!! Well worth the travels from the United States. It is gorgeous, great ski, and everyone is so kind. It is also very family friendly!
Sarasota — Google review
One of the worlds best ski resorts and arguably the very best for families. An exhaustive network of runs that are nicely favored to intermediate skiers. The mountain restaurant huts are modern yet traditional in style with fantastic meals and service. The infrastructure is very modern and well maintained. And value is probably the best around when you throw it all together. But most of all, this place goes out of its way to keep the kids happy.
Stephen A — Google review
Absolutely beautiful and charming place. There are a lot of pistes of all types, which is great. In high season it gets very busy and the blue pistes in Serfaus end up being quite destroyed halfway through the day, due to less experienced skiers and being the only way back to the bottom of the mountain, so getting back at the end of the day can be a challenge, but overall it is really a fun place to spend your ski holidays!
Leonor S — Google review
Great ski resort. A lot of ski runs, high altitude resort. Serfaus is a bit on the quiet side, but this was great for us. The resort is very good for families and kids. Locals are not so friendly to tourists, this was the only minus.
Gilad S — Google review
One of the big ski resorts in Austria, and a quite touristy one. You'll find a big choice of slopes which you can all access with your pass. Since the resort is actually comprised of 3 places, you can also easily spend 3-4 days here with constant skiing. The area is well known so expect lots of other people during peak season, though they're getting distributed quite well just because of the size of the place. Transportation and parking is convenient. Unfortunately the quality of piste preparation is rather mediocre, slopes were already bumpy around 10 a.m.! The food is also mediocre for a high price. It looks like the restaurant owners get low purchase price food to maximise profit (pizza, burgers, sausages, low quality meat).
TH3 T — Google review
Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is a very nice ski area. Serfaus has a nice metro line to bring you to the 3 gondels (Komperdellbahn, Alpkopfbahn and Sunliner) which bring you to the main ski slopes from where you can go further into the SFL area to explore more of the area. I would go back here!

Such an iconic pass and a second time visitor. Last time I cycled up and mistakingly turned around at the war memorial, as there is a restaurant there. The top is another 1km+ from there where you'll see The sign from my pictures and find a great cafe with delicious pastries. I started from Bormio at 7.45am and it was nice not having many motorbikes or cars. After a quick refuel, I was back in Bormio by 10.30am 🚵‍♂️⛰️

Beautiful place, one the most gorgeous mountains passes in Italy. The road is narrow in some parts so drive carefully. There are few hiking trails in the upper area, it is a rocky are so it is important to have the right equipment.
Yadid — Google review
It is one of the highest and most spectacular passes in the area, caravans or trailers are not allowed, the southern part is very wild and the road very narrow, there are sections of the road where a car and a bicycle barely fit. The landscape is superb, especially at the top.
EnduRO ( — Google review
Horrific, scary drive. Google Maps gave us directions between two towns and we ended up on this pass. Single track for a majority of it with switchbacks and many areas without guardrails. Tunnel with no lights. Many bicycles and motorcycles. Deadly if any mistake. We could not turn around once we realized the dangerous conditions. This road should be clearly marked with dangerous conditions at points where cars could turn around before it is too late. I keep thinking about how close we came to potential life threatening conditions. I was shaking and having a panic attack going down. My husband was extremely stressed driving this. Terrible experience. This should not be an option on google maps. This road is for people who are prepared and know what to expect and are making the choice to put themselves in danger.

Nice view. Many cars n cyclist are coming. I took a rest n refresh. From road from Adamelo to here, road is bit narrow n bit hard driving.
Kimio K — Google review
The Passo Gavia is a stunning ascent, and an even more enjoyable descent. I was fortunate enough to cycle this route during the Transcontinental Bike Race No8 in 2022. The landscape is stunning, reaching the summit I was surprised not to see more shops open but it was still not long out of lockdowns post covid. The hairpins are special and what makes this iconic and famous cycling route so breathtaking. The road surface asphalt tarmac is so smooth and perfectly safe for road cyclists like myself. Plenty of motorbike riders and car drivers were courteous when needing to pass, although I was descending as fast as the cars. Not many water stops on the ascent so fill both of your bottles when planning on climbing. The route down to Bormio was spectacular, the views were very special and the villagers always pleased, friendly and welcoming. The Alps will always be so very special having cycled through them in numerous races and occasions.

Reschensee, also known as Lake Reschen, is a stunning 6.6-square-kilometer artificial lake located in Italy, near the borders of Austria and Switzerland. What makes this lake truly unique is the submerged church steeple and underwater villages that peek out from its waters. The area surrounding Reschensee boasts breathtaking mountain scenery, with the majestic Alps providing a stunning backdrop to the crystal-clear waters of the lake.
A very beautiful place – in winter, the lake completely freezes over, allowing you to walk on it or fly above it.
Iryna K — Google review
My first visit to Italian; South Tyrol. This place is just 45 minutes from Austria. The lake is skyblue and the scenary is amazing, but that day it was a strong cold wind outside, you couldn't spend long there. Take a coat and a hat. The church is still there, from 1950 under the water. Of course another one is built nearby in the village.
Nady N — Google review
Went in late December and the lake was frozen! Not sure hard enough to walk on, but still, looked very cool. The church tower of course is the main sight. There is a walking path around at least one side of the lake. Parking at various sites, paid. Recommend!

Reschensee, nestled in the picturesque South Tyrol region of northern Italy, offers a captivating blend of history and natural beauty. The submerged church tower emerging from the tranquil waters creates a hauntingly beautiful scene, drawing visitors from far and wide. Surrounded by majestic mountains, the lake is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, cycling, and water sports. Its serene ambiance and unique attractions make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a memorable experience in the Italian Alps.

This location is a hidden gem, featured in the Netflix original "Curon". The Curon Venosta bell tower is partially submerged in the lake and there is a walkable trail around it through the lake! The location is easily accessible from Tirol, Austria via highway (i.e. from Landeck) via Reschen Pass and from Switzerland or Italy in South. Passo Stelvio and Umbrail Pass, highest roads in Italy and Switzerland are not too far a drive from here.
Rashid F — Google review
Beautiful lake surrounded with mountains. A lot of hiking options and also (most remarkable for me!) - possibility for snow-kiting in winter when lake is covered with thick ice. Season is around late January - early March, but depends on ice coverage and winds. Alternatively smaller lake nearby can be frozen earlier. Rents and kite-schools are also available.
Natalia K — Google review
Lake Resia is the biggest lake of South Tyrol and an artificial reservoir. Up to the year 1950, there were three lakes in this area: Lake Resia, Lake Curon and Lake San Valentino alla Muta. When the reservoir was dammed after the construction of the dam wall (1947-1949), the locality of Curon Venosta as well as much of Resia were flooded and destroyed. The only remnant of old Curon is the steeple, which still towers out of the waters and is nowadays a historical landmark.

For driving and motorcycling enthusiasts, this winding pass in South Tyrol offers an adventurous and exciting journey through the Stelvio National Park.
I love this road on my motorcycle. I set out at 6am and it was practically deserted. Climbing up at one point you go through the clouds and it was a beautiful new experience for me!! One of the best alpine passes in the alps. Lovely cafes at the top, breathtaking scenery and a warm hospitality from everyone around you, as everyone will be there for the same reason as you - to enjoy this marvel of nature! We passed this place to go to Dolomites! Was a normal week day in June, but super traffic already. There is amazing, beautiful, worth to do it and on the way is a caffe, on the top is also full of shops and snacks, for turist 😁we jumped out ant hiked a bit up to the top. Breathtaking, there are not enough superlatives to describe this stunning pass. There are no photos that do justice to this magnificent landscape and the feat of human engineering that created the Stelvio pass road. Went up twice from the Bormio side by bicycle and found there was a lot of mutual respect among all road users. It will take a lot to beat the experience of riding the Stelvio. 9.99999 out of 10!

QC Terme Bagni di Bormio Bagni Nuovi

Hotel
Spas & Wellness
QC Terme Bagni di Bormio Bagni Nuovi is an elegant lodging housed in an art nouveau building, offering fine dining, a modern spa, and complimentary breakfast. Guests can enjoy the thermal area and massages, with special mentions for the bright mornings provided by Orietta from the restaurant. The hotel's reception, spa, cleaning services, and buffet have all been praised for their kindness. This destination is perfect for those seeking a charming retreat in Bormio.
We've been here with extended family and a child and really enjoyed it. The hotel manager and staff were also very kind and helpful — I forgot my tablet in the room, and they did everything they could to make it easy for me to get it back. In general, I think this place fits best for couples rather than a family but that didn't impact us in a bad way. I'd recommend it for a romantic getaway with your partner.

Still a nice place for a weekend but lost a lot compared with few years ago. Crowded, noisy big groups… Rooms still nice, new areas to relax. Restaurant menu below expectations and definitely not deserving 5 stars as the hotel.

Bloody brilliant! We stayed one night and fell in love. Amazing facilities, with many to enjoy. Staff was exemplary, like Nicole at reception and Fuat from Sivas in restaurant, we were well attended. This place is massive, pristinely clean. Breakfast, dinner and Aperetivo well above our expectations. Very relaxing. We’ll be back! Grazie mille 🙏

Top notch hotel. Very beautiful with a really lovely spa. I got the best massage ever and the staff at reception and the bar were brilliant!

I’ve also been to QC Terme in Chamonix and San Pellegrino, both excellent, but the one in Bormio stands out for its wide variety of pools and outdoor paths, as well as its unique mountain views. What I appreciated the most is the intimate atmosphere, much more private compared to other spas in the group. Among all of them, I especially recommend Bormio for a couple’s day out, as it offers the most romantic setting.

The area is unbelievably scenic. The spa complex is huge and very good. However the hotel itself is pretty medicare, especially since it claims to have five stars. What makes a good five-star experience? Feeling special being their guest. It’s not at all the case with this hotel. The staff doesn't look particularly friendly or welcoming—not much smiling or nice words in general. We’ve heard “no” too many times from them: Can we sit there? No. Can we move our reservation to the restaurant? No. Can we eat now? No. Is the bar open? No. Does the bar have snacks? No. Etc., etc. All in all, if you’re a fan of the area (and believe me, you should be) and want to spend some time there, maybe a cheaper option won’t make you feel cheated. If you love QC spas (as my wife and I do), you can always drop by Bagni Nuovi’s spa without living in the hotel.

My recent visit to QC Terme Bagni Nuovi was an unforgettable and regenerating experience. Located in a breathtaking alpine landscape, these spas offer a perfect balance between luxury, well-being and nature. The QC Terme Bagni Nuovi are immersed in an enchanting natural context, surrounded by the mountains of the Stelvio National Park. The view is simply spectacular and contributes to creating an atmosphere of peace and serenity that is perceived from the first moment. The thermal path is extremely varied and includes several swimming pools and tanks, both indoor and outdoor, all fed with natural hot thermal water. Each pool offers a unique experience, from hot tubs to regenerating waterfalls, allowing you to relax completely. The wellness centre is well equipped with saunas, Turkish baths and a wide range of treatments and massages. I tried a relaxing massage that was really regenerating and the staff was extremely professional and courteous. The restaurant of the QC Terme Bagni Nuovi offers a selection of delicious dishes prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients. The kitchen is a mix of tradition and innovation, with particular attention to the presentation of dishes. I particularly appreciated the typical dishes of Valtellina, which were simply exquisite. The QC Terme Bagni Nuovi is a historical place, with a long tradition of wellness. The architecture of the complex is fascinating, with historical details that integrate perfectly with the modern thermal facilities. Every corner of the spa tells a story of care and well-being. The staff is always available and ready to assist at any time. The service is impeccable and attentive, helping to make the experience even more pleasant and relaxing. In conclusion, QC Terme Bagni Nuovi is an ideal place for those looking for relaxation, well-being and authentic contact with nature. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to spend a moment of serenity and regeneration in a unique and fascinating context.

The spa has a decent variety of treatments, and the location is great. However, the entire experience is ruined because it is overbooked. They are trying to accommodate way more people per slot than the capacity. As a result, a luxury like experience felt more like a trip to a crowded water park. In addition to that, the staff was unwelcoming and not attentive

An amazing experience, best place to have a relaxing weekend!! I recommend everyone to try it, we enjoyed every moment of our stay there! Self service breakfast and apperitivo with lots of options! The place was so clean and the staff were nice and friendly!

Wow, this spa was absolutely amazing! We had an incredible experience. At first, we couldn’t decide between the one in the center or this one in the mountains, and I’m so happy we chose this! The antique style, with everything made of stone and wood, creates such a unique and magical atmosphere. Every single room has its own story, scent, and decoration. As a very detail-oriented person, I checked everything—and I was truly impressed! From the outside, you can’t imagine how amazing it is inside! The spa even has Grotto caves, which add to its unique charm. The entire experience was beyond expectations. Highly recommend this hidden gem! Even the breakfast menu was fantastic, and the food was incredible. I thought 5 hours would be too much, but now I wish I had even more time! Highly recommend. We are beyond impressed!

Beautiful location and nice idea. Very cool design and unique location. The spa was crammed with people, some of the steam rooms smelled like urine. The outside infinity pool is nice with a great view. The other pools looked murky and dirty. We saw in multiple pools clumps of white fluid floating in the pool. There is no enforcement of any rules so left with no one to enforce people do what they please in the pools. I have gone to many thermal baths and have not seen anything like this before. They need to clean the baths. The cleaning folks did a nice job of keeping the floors and the bathrooms clean so there was no trash around. I would not return here. Ever.

I was at QC Terme Bagni Vecchi and I must say that it was an extraordinary experience. Located in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, these spas offer a perfect combination of relaxation, well-being and natural beauty. The setting is enchanting, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. The spas are immersed in nature, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity that makes you forget the daily stress. Hot spring pools are powered by natural hot water and offer a variety of experiences, from hot tubs to outdoor pools. The rooftop pool is particularly charming, allowing you to enjoy a spectacular view while relaxing in the hot water. The wellness centre is well equipped with saunas, Turkish baths and a natural sweat cave. The treatments and massages offered are of high quality and the staff is extremely professional and courteous. QC Terme Bagni Vecchi has a fascinating history dating back centuries. Each corner of the spa tells a story of tradition and well-being, making the experience even more special. QC Terme Bagni Vecchi are an ideal place for those looking for relaxation, well-being and authentic contact with nature. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to spend a moment of serenity and regeneration.

Absolutely scandalously beautiful! Wow! Brilliant few hours before we stayed at its sister hotel Bagni Nuovi. Old baths, on mountain terraces. At the start of the legendary Stelvio Pass. Healing waters, great lunch. A must visit. X
Mustafa G — Google review
This place is gross. The spa was crammed with people and the water was dirty. Trash throughout the buildings, it’s clear the staff doesn’t do much to clean up. Smells like sweat and urine. There’s only a trickle of fresh water coming into the pools - with hundreds of people entering and exiting it just doesn’t stay clean. The website shows one price but they don’t honor that price when you show up. Stay away.
Blake V — Google review
One of our best stays. The environment is just amazing, like a fairy tale, the rooms are so comfortable, the staff are kind and so nice, and obviously the balneario and all the services are incredible. All that make the place feels like magic. It's one of those places one have to go once in life.
Sisi J — Google review
The customer service is really one of the worst I had to deal with in all my years of traveling. The staff was very unfriendly and I was a guest in the hotel - the ladies on the day shift on September 04, 2025 to be specific, treated us like tourist garbage, which is really frustrating after paying 300€ per night. When I asked to explain about the facilities, the reply was that “there is a map you can look at”. After I asked for the location of the restaurant, the lady just said 4th floor without listening to me and which was wrong. As for the room, it smelled like cigarettes, the coffee machine was broken and they put us in the back of the hotel with zeros views. Highly I unrecommended tourists trap.

As always incredible Switzerland! Beautiful views from the pool, very clean, enough pools to entertain my 3 years old boy. We arrived at 15:00 o’clock and was almost empty, in the evening gets more crowded but still not much. The Parking is only 1 Franc/Hour!!!! 🤩

Receptionist with white hair was extremely unfriendly, Badmeister requested no beach dressing for a lady while others had a bathrobe on. The spas and pools had an excellent view , very clean and organized. The underground parking was not well marked. Best to visit after 7 pm, at a reduced fee.

Unfortunately it is like a waterpark rather than a wellness center. You can see kids are happy there, splashing water and playing around. But if you are an adult wanting to relax in the mineral bath, this is not the place. I tried to go at night when there were fewer kids, but then couples were getting intimate openly in the middle of the pool, it is embarrassing to watch, god knows what they were doing, and I was soaking in the same water. I can’t blame the owner for this, but I just didn’t enjoy myself.
RC — Google review
A small and lovely spa place, the sauna area has a better experience than the bathing area. There were too many children in the bathing area and it was noisy. Even seeing children wearing diapers made me a little worried about the water quality. The experience in the sauna area is really good. After steaming in the sauna, there are tea bags provided. There is also a sauna room outside which is easy to miss. Considering its price, I’m willing to give a four-star and recommend it to my friends for weekend relaxation.
Y X — Google review
For a rather high price, you can’t reserve a lounger and have no space of your own—only in the water. Parking is not included in the price and has to be paid separately. With my calm teenage daughter, we had to wait until 10:30, but then there was unbearable noise from small children. Limiting children’s entry based on age from 13 (instead of 18) during designated hours would be sufficient. The worst part was the small, loud children running around the sauna, where people are trying to relax and are naked. This is absolutely inappropriate for young children. The lifeguard didn’t even notice them—instead, he walked around the saunas checking if people were naked!

Amazing bath and spa! Quite big, many pools and sauna/steam bath. Quiet and pretty outside pool and garden (especially the sauna area) with astonishing view of the surrounding mountains. Clean and well organized too. A little improvement: some shower gel could be provided in the showers.

Very kind staff that spoke many languages. I felt very welcome here and greatly enjoyed all of the pools, as well as the steam room. It's a luxurious, family-friendly experience for all ages.
Kelsey W — Google review
I’ve been to more than 15 different spas in Switzerland, and this is the ONLY one where I had to wait nearly 30 minutes to enter after purchasing a ticket, that too on a weekday, no less. They should definitely improve the entry process by offering online ticket sales to prevent people from wasting time just to enter the Therme. I had taken a four-hour ride from Basel to come here, and it was disappointing to spend another half hour waiting just to get in.

Fabulous ski resort. They have a few large gondolas and about 50 lifts altogether. Up on the mountain you can find many places to eat and drink. Superb slopes, mostly groomed very nicely. Lockers are available at the lower lift but also at the mountain.

Stunning views up and down the mountain. The cable car was smooth and in good condition
Anja D — Google review
Great cable car service. Ran smoothly. No queues. Could exit at the Middle Station (lake walks, archery and play area - toilets at cable car station. Walk of Lyrics back down to the base station in Ischgl) or stay on until Idalp where there was a restaurant, shop and another play area. Another series of chair lifts and a twin liner cable car can take you on into Samnaun in Switzerland.
Rebecca B — Google review
There are many slopes at Ischgl, making it an interesting place to ski, I especially like those steep runs. It's hard to get bored there.
Jery K — Google review
Good ski resort, we had a lot of fun there. We systematically had a large queue in the valley in the morning though, as the resort has very few entry points for its size.
Louis — Google review
Silvretta in Ischgl is absolutely amazing. So many trams, chairlifts, and runs that one can ski for a week. The views are amazing and snow is perfect. We loved the lodges and restaurants on the mountain. The food quality and selection was great. The Après Ski in Ischgl was phenomenal. Lots of places to eat and celebrate an awesome day on the mountain. We had a wonderful time here with memories for a lifetime.
LANCE S — Google review
One of the best ski resorts in Australia/Switzerland/Germany area. The resort is quite broad and you can spend 1 week literally only with ski or snowboarding. The ski area enters into Switzerland as well and you can find tax free shops! But be careful for the tax free route because the last part is flat and it could take a long time for snowboarders to arrive at the gondola. As that gondola is not frequent (once in 10-15 mins) there is possibility that you cannot come back to the area you want to be back. Therefore clear understanding of the map and planning is very important to avoid paying money for expensive taxies and wasting time. Great view and great course with wide variety. Also nice snowpark is available for those like to play in them. I also recommend to go to a pizzaria in the resort. They offer very good pizza for a lunch break.

Nice views, good mtb-trails and if necessary the personal will load your bike on the chairlift. Be aware of the air slurping bicycle pump in the valley station (im shure it will be fixed soon :-) ). I then could inflate my tire in the nearby bikeshop. There are also biketools and a bikewashing station to use for free.

Bodies of Water
Silvretta Stausee is a man-made reservoir nestled amidst the stunning Alpine peaks, featuring a circular walking trail that takes you past three dams and a picturesque waterfall. As the largest water reservoir in the region, it collects water from the mountains to generate energy for nearby villages, holding an impressive 42,000 liters of water. The approximately 7-kilometer hike around the reservoir offers breathtaking views and takes about 2 hours to complete.
The lake is situated at an elevation of approximately 2,030 m, covers an area of about 1.4 square km and has a total storage capacity of around 9 million cubic meters of water. Local folklore speaks of a village called Galtür that once thrived in the valley now submerged by the waters of Silvretta Stausee. According to the legend, the villagers were warned by an old hermit about an impending disaster. Ignoring the warning, they continued their daily lives until a massive storm struck, leading to the construction of the dam. It’s said that on quiet nights, if one listens closely, they can still hear the faint sound of church bells ringing beneath the water, a haunting reminder of the village that once was. This tale adds an element of mystique to the serene beauty of the lake, inviting visitors to reflect on the history that lies beneath its tranquil surface.

Muottas Muragl is a 2,456-meter mountain peak accessible by hiking or funicular. Located at Punt Muragl between St. Moritz and Pontresina, it boasts an eatery and viewing platform with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountaintops. The funicular at 8,055 meters takes visitors to the top where they can enjoy cocktails on the terrace or dine inside with great dinner options.
Provided the weather is good, this place is absolutely spectacular. Probably one of the best views in the Engadin. Some niche short to medium walks. Good restaurant and nice terrace. Highly recommended. You can walk back to St. Moritz via the magical Staezer forest.
Mfo — Google review
Muottas Muragl sits majestically above the Upper Engadin Valley, offering one of Switzerland’s most breathtaking panoramic viewpoints. Reached easily by the historic Muottas Muragl funicular departing from Punt Muragl station this mountain terrace perches at 2,454 meters, commanding sweeping vistas of crystalline lakes (Silvaplana, St. Moritz and Sils), the Engadin floor, and the soaring peaks of the Bernina Range. The viewing platform is the star attraction. On a clear day, you can spot over a dozen 4,000-meter-plus mountains, including Piz Bernina and Piz Palü. Sunrise and sunset visits are especially magical: the alpenglow casts pink and gold hues across snow-capped summits and mirror-calm lakes, creating postcard-perfect photo opportunities. In winter, the terrace transforms into a snowy wonderland, while summer brings wildflower carpets and the gentle hum of grazing marmots. Beyond the viewpoint, Muottas Muragl offers multi-day hiking trails and loop walks that link to adventurous itineraries such as the Muottas Muragl to Fuorcla Minor ridge trail while families can enjoy easy panoramas routes. The on-site panoramic restaurant serves hearty Alpine fare think Bündner barley soup, Rösti with local cheese, and freshly baked Apfelstrudel paired with excellent regional wines and coffees, all enjoyed alongside the grand view. Facilities include a sun terrace, souvenir shop stocking handcrafted Swiss-Italian goods, and telescope stations for up-close glimpses of distant peaks. Clean, well-maintained restrooms and a viewing telescope make every visit comfortable and engaging. Muottas Muragl is more than a lookout point; it’s an immersive Alpine experience that combines effortless access, spectacular scenery, and Swiss hospitality. Whether you’re chasing sunrise, indulging in gourmet mountain cuisine, or simply seeking serenity above the clouds, this mountaintop gem is an unmissable highlight of the Engadin.

From the bottom to the top is a fun and in places steep funicular trip. The views from the top are stunning and the trails accommodate all levels. Well worth the trip but the price is too high if your hotel does not provide you with a local travel card so make sure to ask about that!

Muottas Muragl is a top-notch destination and a must-visit attraction in St. Moritz. You can reach this stunning spot by taking the famous funicular train from Punt Muragl station, which is accessible by bus from the city. Note that your Swiss Pass doesn't work here, but with a local mountain pass, the fare is only 10 CHF. Once you arrive, you're greeted with spectacular views that are truly breathtaking. Whether you choose to enjoy a coffee while soaking in the scenery or go trekking along the trails, the experience is unforgettable. Beautiful lake to spend time by. It was so calm and silent here. We came around about 4-30 pm in the evening in September. It was empty, just saw a few people walking around. We sat here had some food and enjoyed the whole atmosphere! Clean air and calm vibes. Lovely to spend time here. The temperature was also so perfect to enjoy.

The lake in St. Moritz is not one of the larger lakes. Now that we are in August, it is hard to imagine what it is like here when the lake freezes, people are skating and supposedly horse races are even held on the lake! It is very nice to walk along the lake and enjoy watching the ducks. They are smaller and darker than the ducks I know.

This beautiful lake has drawn travelers since ancient times, with mineral springs attracting visitors centuries before St. Moritz became a winter resort. The frozen lake famously hosted events during the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympics, and every year unique sports like horse racing and polo are held right on the ice.

Great place for skiing in the Davos dorf... The top here is close to 2900m...so much pistes for every level of skiers... Pistes always good prepare... Not so much crowded... One thing you must try and if you are good ski and if there is enough snow is 12km slope from top to Kublis... If you want break or lunch there is few good restaurants for eat or drink something... Love this place! From Zürich its super easily accessible - its a little less than 2 hours from Zürich HB to Klosters Platz. As soon as you exit the train, across the street is a rental place where you can rent your gear. Literally next to the rental place is the gondola entrance. If you didnt buy your ticket online, you can buy it at the gondola entrance (can only pay with card - no cash is accepted). Mid morning its a bit of chaos there as its just one door for access to the ticket box and gondola entrance. I would recommend arriving no later than 8.30-9.00 if you dont want to queue. Even with a queue, you can get to the ski runs in 30 min - 1 hour, it isnt that bad of a wait. Note, that there is a second gondola to take after the first. The runs are really great - not too easy but not too difficult either. There is one run that takes you through the forest and all the way down to next to the 1st gondola. This is where the apres ski is. For the apres ski, definitely arrive a bit earlier than run closure if you want to get a seat inside (there is live music). If you cannot grab a place inside, they sell drinks out of a little car outside and there are a few places to stand/sit as well. After apres ski, its a quick walk across a bridge to the train station and rental return.

Got charged for cleaning fees although no one cleaned the rooms throughout my stay, the apartment was cleaned by us prior to checking out in accordance to the policy told to us by the receptionist. However, two wrapped up trash bags were left due to the trash cans being full and we informed the receptionist of this . The receptionist made us go back to the rooms after checking out to remove the trash bags or else an extra fee would be charged (on top of the cleaning fee we already paid per apartment as we had more than one apartment). There is nothing relaxing about this resort and the customer service in the reception makes matters worse . Overall should have saved my money, time , and peace of mind.

My first Swiss ski experience and absolutely loved it! Not surprising, everything worked perfectly smoothly, lifts, ski rent shop, buying ski pass online. There wasn't so much snow but all slopes were open nevertheless. We went there on a gorgeous Sunday and did over 70km of slopes. The ski pass is a bit pricey but totally worth it.

Lovely skiing spot. It would be very nice if they add lift schedule to their website so that you can check it while you are skiing to ensure that you aren't missing the last lift ride. Currently the list schedule is available in text format with location names but you have no idea what those names mean you obviously look at the map and the schedule of the lifts must be available on the map, which should provide the schedule for both directions of the lift not just one. For example, last main train goes down at 17:00 but the website schedule shows 16:00 - but this is the ride up and is irrelevant for people who are already up in the mountains. In result you have to finish you ski day one hour earlier which is frustrating and not the experience you expect at the ski resort ...

Even though I don't ski, the views from the top are amazing! If you travel by train your stop is Davos Dorf. Once there you walk about 5-10 minutes and then you have reached your destination. To go all the way to the top you change trams but it won't take that long to reach the top. Make sure to visit the village afterwards!

Spend an amazing day skiing on accessible blue tracks, since I am a beginner! A beautiful resort with lots of tracks for every skill sort! Found an amazing restaurant in me middle of track 15, which had an amazing view, and delicious food with vegetarian options! Had an amazing day there!

The best ski resort! Skiing here since 2012 and not bored! Not good for very begginers, but if you are ok on red slopes you should come here to practice. Only few Tbars left, which you can avoid, if you come from Klosters side, ski down to the double chair lift, or go forward to the carpet lift, and then go on higher.. i like that first slopes are done so that you can warm up well, and higher you ski,you can find steeper places. There are many slopes that are wide and straight, where you can practice with different level skiers. There is fun slope that goes parallel blue slope nr15. Some restaurants (one i know for sure) that do not accept credit cards, make sure to have some cash, just in case. I like Parsenn that its in the valley and you can ski several directions of the mountain, towards Davos,Klosters or Saas,Küblis.. on Davos side, there are two fun places: Race slope, where you can get the video of your skiing after you register your ski card, and the slope where you go for max.speed(there's speedometer) Even if you dont want to ski black route, you can take the lift all the way up to see an incredible view of the area, eat in that restaurant and go back with the lift.. totally reccomended. One more thing.. there is a "secret" slope(Seetäli...sssshhhh dont tell to anyone, its our secret;) ), from which you can spot the family of mountain goats(famous Steinbock) in order to earn that experience, you must take a Tbar up ;) dont forget the binoculars if you want to see them even better, but even without you can see them usually. I wish you to have a great ride on Parsenn!!!

Absolutely amazing, all loved it! We went on a Saturday morning in June and had no queue, although it was a rainy day. Felt very safe - you're strapped in but the way the cart is designed even as you're thrown to the side around bends it keeps you in. It also brakes for you if you go too fast. My advice to go as fast as possible is do some slight braking before any bend that looks quite sharp. Keeping the brakes off means that you get slowed down more by the automatic braking system than you otherwise would.

Alpine Coaster Golm was amazing! Beautiful views of mountains and lake, smooth ride, and just the right mix of fun, speed and beautiful nature. You control the brakes, so it's great for both thrill seekers and families. Staff was helpful and everything felt safe and well-maintained. The ride is worth doing more than once. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area!

What a great place! The Coaster downhill was hilarious and so much fun. Took it twice, one with each kid 😉 what a rush. You decide yourself how fast you want to go, but the cart can go no more than 40 km/h. Down the hill there are signs where to hold on the speed and brake a little for the sharp turns. We also took the lift to the middle station and walked down the mountain and tried the 6 slides that's about 50-60m in length each. Perfect way to get down a mountain 😂 There is still a bit of walking to get down. There are tons of hiking trails that we didn't try, but it covers a huge area, so there is something for everyone.

A great 2.6 km ride down (a gondola ride up in luded in the cost)! But, I a very long wait, 1 hour or so.
Oksana R — Google review
Really fun and felt really safe! You can sit on one coaster alone or together with one small child. It has seat belts for (both) passengers. It can go really fast but you van can also slow it down by using the hand brakes. In August 2022, the price was 13 euros per person per ride which was definitely a good deal for the experience!

Buy ticket from automatic machine and go to the right, behind the building:) You will go down the hill with coasters from there and will take gondola to come back up:) it was very fun ride, would go again 😀👍

Don’t miss it !! one of the best rides ever! The staff is incredibly friendly and understanding, prioritizing everyone’s health and joy over just moving the line.

Piz Nair is a stunning mountain peak in the Albula Alps, towering at 3056 meters above sea level and offering breathtaking views of St. Moritz in the canton of Graubunden. Visitors can reach near the summit by taking a funicular or cable car ride, coming within just 30 meters of the top. The Corviglia Ski area is located just below the summit, making it a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts with its Olympic history.
Stunning mountain of Engadin! Lovely place to visit. Snow all throughout the year.

Pros: - Good mix of train and cable car to reach the top. - Spectacular views at both stopping points. Cons: - Very expensive ticket price for the transportation only. - Long waits for the train or cable car, once on board.

I visited St. Moritz several times while working in Switzerland; these pictures are from June 1979. If you have a chance, take a train from Basel to St Moritz. This scenic ride takes you through the heart of the Swiss countryside, offering breathtaking views of the Alps and picturesque towns along the way. Nestled in the Engadin Valley of the Swiss Alps, St. Moritz (elevation 1,856 Meters or 6,089 feet) sits at a lofty elevation, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and pristine lakes. St. Moritz gained fame centuries ago due to its mineral springs. These springs were discovered around 3,000 years ago and established the town as a summer spa resort. Pilgrims traveled to St. Moritz to drink from the blessed, bubbling waters of the Mauritius springs, hoping for healing and absolution. Known as the birthplace of winter tourism, St. Moritz offers a playground for snow enthusiasts, from world-class skiing to bobsled rides down the Olympia Bob Run. As early as 1864, it attracted visitors seeking the perfect blend of luxury, adventure, and stunning landscapes. The 1948 Winter Olympics, the first Winter Olympics celebrated after World War II, were held in St. Moritz. The opening scene of movie The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) has James Bond being chased on skis by Russian agents—the scene was shot on the slopes around St. Moritz, until the final scene when he skis off a cliff and opens a parachute—that was filmed in Canada. Thanks to its unique microclimate, St. Moritz boasts over 300 days of sunshine each year—a rarity in the snowy Alps. St. Moritz has hosted royalty, Hollywood stars, and dignitaries for over a century. The iconic Badrutt’s Palace Hotel and the elegant Kulm Hotel exude old-world charm. When the snow melts, hiking and mountain biking trails open up. Summer brings a riot of colors as wildflowers bloom across the Engadin valley; lace up your hiking boots and explore the Alpine trails, from gentle walks to challenging ascents. Piz Nair, standing at an impressive 3,057 meters (10,026 feet), overlooks the town of St. Moritz. Piz Nair is easily accessible from St. Moritz via a funicular and a cable car. The upper station unloads just 30 meters below the summit. Below the summit to the east lies the Corviglia ski area. From the summit, you’ll be treated to breathtaking vistas of the Engadin lake landscape.

Top of the Corviglia ski area above mundane St Moritz, boasting a restaurant, a viewing platform and the start of great (red) ski tracks that lead down to the other side of the ski area, allowing for a several km long ski ride.

Rinerhorn is a popular destination for skiing and winter sports, offering a toboggan run, hiking trails, and sun decks. It is part of the Davos-Klosters skiing areas, which include Parsenn/Gotschna, Jakobshorn, Pischa, Madrisa, Rinerhorn and Schatzalp/Strela. In the summer months, these mountains transform into hiking and mountain biking havens with 700 km of marked paths.
My wife and six year old son rode the gondola 🚠 up and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed a scenic 7km hike down and around the mountain. The vistas were amazing and the nature all around the trail was beautiful. The trail ends near a small village with a fantastic family restaurant!

At Rinerhorn I have only tried the schlitteln track, and I love it! It is quite fast, I recommend th|e use of spikes on your shoes, they can be rented there. The track is big, and it provides a super exciting experience. I went there always with a group of friends and it is a great experience! I was going there from Davos, it is easily reached with the bus.

The Tamina Therme is a beautiful wellness facility nestled in the picturesque mountains of Switzerland. It boasts a unique attraction, the Tamina source, which is a museum showcasing hot thermal water. The spa exudes elegance with its sophisticated decor and attentive staff, although slightly pricier than average. The pools are strategically positioned throughout the premises, providing ample space for relaxation and enjoyment of the invigorating massage jets.
The wellness experience here was incredible! After a peaceful walk through the Tamina Gorge surrounded by stunning nature, I spent the afternoon at the thermal spa. The warm mineral waters were so soothing—it felt like a complete reset for my mind and body

What a wonderful and dreamy space this is. The Tamina Therme is a 200 year old spa where the waters are heated by the magma hotspots beneath the earths surface. This epic place is designed as a spectacular white cathedral to wellness. Each oval window frames the mountains, trees and even hilltop ruins in the distance. There are many special pools with different temperatures and even pools to be done in rotation based on the warm jets and their different levels of heating. There is an outside pool area and a special space to enjoy and relax with others. They have an opportunity to get a robe for 10 Franc and I say this is the way to do it because the robe can also be used as a towel and perfect to lounge around it with champagne or a spritz in hand. The lockers needed clearer instructions so here they are 1. Get wrist band from front desk upon check in. 2. Choose locker 3. Press with your finger the circle 4. Its lights up 5. Press your wrist band against it 6. a knob extends and locker is now open. 7.put all things in locker 8. Press extended knob with wristband until it stays in. 9. Your items are safe and only you can get them out with your wristband. 10. Have the best time with all the pools and saunas to rest, zen-out and enjoy!

Lovely spa with natural mineral waters in different temperatures. It wasn’t overly crowded because we came on Monday morning. Only one small incident clouded our experience. While we were in the large pool with different jets one Swiss woman told us off and asked to vacate our jets because she wanted to use them. We thought it’s incredibly rude while we are literally in our swimming suits and defenseless. We can’t understand why some people can be this incredibly arrogant. But this is nothing to do with Tamina Therme staff who were super friendly. We definitely recommend to visit!

My boyfriend and I were expecting something a bit better from wellness. The facilities are okay, but it’s a pity that the outdoor sauna area doesn’t have a pool. I don’t mean a cold plunge pool, but rather a small swimming pool or a hot tub – something like that would definitely fit in well and make the experience more enjoyable.
Vanda D — Google review
I read the previous reviews before coming, so I kind of knew what to expect. My wife and I came on my birthday and so I received free entry to the pool area, but still had to pay 18 Francs to enter the sauna world. My wife had to pay the full 37 for the pool area (2 hours) and the additional 18 for the sauna world. We thought this was a rather steep cost, given that the pool area does not have that much to offer - no slides or activities, just a few different pools to sit in bubbles. It's nice and relaxing, but it doesn't hold your attention for a longer stay. Once in the sauna area, there is no pool on that side (which has been mentioned previously). This is a huge detriment, to which they respond, "there are pools just a short distance away from the sauna area". Yes, but then there is the hassle of putting your swimming costume back on, going through the turnstyle gate and then being able to get in a pool. It is also nice to swim textile free in sauna areas, which here is not possible. Overall, a lovely place, but lacking in several areas and a little overpriced due to that. Totally worth it if you are just looking for what they offer, but many other such places offer a bit more for similar or less cost.

Fantastic overpriced thermals. Extra 18 francs to use the saunas, but they are very well done. A great place for a swim and some pleasant tickling bubbles.
