Hot Springs & Geysers
Ourense Thermal Springs is a major attraction in the city, boasting one of the highest concentrations of geothermal water in Europe. Visitors can enjoy outdoor baths in various pozas around the area. The ancient Romans recognized the healing properties of these hot springs, particularly for ailments like arthritis. For a nominal fee, visitors have access to changing rooms, lockers, and showers. While some facilities may be out of order and water cleanliness varies, it remains a relaxing place to visit with family and friends.
Excellent! Clean, well kept and monitored by 2 staff daily. And it's free to the public! Well worth a visit.

Great location, price (free!) and water (hot!). Numbers are limited and a new batch of people are admitted on the hour, so worth planning your arrival time

The staff were fantastic. The whole experience was great. Very relaxing. The food was cheap and very good and the chef was attentive. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful and the cafe and restaurant worth a visit. A great day out and excellent valle for money in a beautiful setting. I'll definitely go again. I have just moved to Galicia and it was a 2hr journey to get there but well worth the time.

What a truly wonderful experience at the thermal springs! 🤩 I had such a serene and beautiful time exploring all the different thermal pools. I'd definitely visit again if I was in the area. To top it all off, I treated myself to an amazing full body chocolate massage followed by a quick facial. Pure bliss! 🍫💆‍♀️ It was incredibly relaxing and my masseuse was excellent. Highly recommend!
Lynda R — Google review
Excelent! The water is really hot and very clean. We paid 6,5 per person and had access to the entire thermal, bathhouse and lockers. They also have a nice bar outside ;)

Termas de Prexigueiro in Ribadavia, Spain, brings back memories of my beloved Japanese onsens. Here you have a paid hotsprings and a wild river hotsprings. For the paid hotsprings, you have 7 pools of varying water temperatures amidst a luscious pine forest. 🌲🌲 Rates are between 5,10 to 5,70€ per adult for 90 minutes. Bring your own bathrobe/towel, swimming costumes and slippers. Bring drinking water to hydrate yourself. There is a changing room, WC and a cafeteria. The WILD RIVER HOTSPRINGS is interesting and popular with the locals. There is a road, closed to cars, just before the parking area for Termas de Prexigueria. Follow the road and walk for about 100 metres. On the left, you will see small pools of cloudy water with a strong sulphur smell. Bring along your towel, swimming costumes and slippers. Enjoy both!
Shirley N — Google review
The natural terme next to the river is charming. 3 samalla nature pools with hot water.

Fantastic location in the forest 6x Thermal pools with 2x cold water plunge pools. 5* experience and location for 1* price. I had a facial but I didn't think much of the treatment didnt think they were an experienced therapist.

Wwwwaaaaa what an amazing experience. Always hated the idea of spas etc but this was SO relaxing and felt so close to nature. Highly recommended
Amy Y — Google review
Amazing location surrounded by trees, a small river nearby and pure calm and nature. Unfortunately some construction works are currently happening which spoils a bit the ideal calm and silence to fully enjoy the thermal circuit. Nevertheless, great experience and highly recommend. 5.5€ for the entire 90minutes circuit is a very reasonable price. Tip: take your own towels to avoid having to rent them.

Cascata da Portela do Homem

Other Outdoor Activities
Cascata da Portela do Homem is a stunning waterfall located in northeastern Portugal, just meters from the Spanish border. The waterfall tumbles down a jagged rock face into a clear pool, creating a picturesque and serene setting. Visitors can enjoy the pristine waters and even take a refreshing dip after a long walk. The area is accessible with a small entrance fee, and it's recommended to wear runners or walking shoes to reach the waterfall.
Amazing national park! Only 1 euro 50 for entry. Natural fresh water for swimming with waterfalls. It's a steep climb down, but it's worth it
S34nVideos — Google review
Amazing place in summer to do some small river swimmimg. but not much place to sit. you probably will have to sit on stones. take your slippers to walk through river more easily. A bit crowded as well. But you should like the place if you are into nature and such.
Mostafa M — Google review

My favorite waterfall in the national park! The parking is a 15 min walk from the lagune. We visited in the evening around 6:30pm and had the place almost to ourselves.
Maija J — Google review
It’s such a cool place feels like a paradise, be mindful with shoes and I wouldn’t suggest to take really small kids it’s quite hard to get down there and quite dangerous
Aleksandr A — Google review
Very beautiful, but very dangerous too! The access to the waterfall is difficult and it’s cold and hard to swim. I don’t intend to return, but for the beauty of the place, I give it a good review.
Samira M — Google review
The location is amazing. Don't forget to park your car at the parking lot five minutes away. Bring a towel and don't be afraid to dip your toes in the water.
Grzegorz P — Google review
is arguably the best waterfall in Gerês, especially around 19:00, when the crowd thins out and the golden light makes it perfect for photography 🌅. The emerald-green plunge pool below the falls is serene and inviting, making this a truly memorable spot . --- 🌟 Why It's Top Tier One of the most scenic and accessible waterfalls in Peneda-Gerês, offering a beautiful natural pool ideal for cooling off during warm months . Framed by rugged cliffs and lush forest, the setting is dramatic and photogenic — with great light late afternoon and early evening . Rated impressively high by visitors and consistently referenced as a highlight of the region . --- 🕖 Best Time to Visit Aim to arrive around 7:00 PM — fewer people and warm, angled lighting for stunning photos. Morning visits work too, but evenings offer a quieter and visually richer experience. --- 🥾 Access & Hiking Park about 700 m from the waterfall, typically at the former border station, and walk the shaded road toward the waterfall . The final descent to the pool involves walking on rocks and uneven terrain — go slow, especially after rain . --- 🏞 Adventure & Extras The area is bordered by Mata de Albergaria forest and the rugged terrain fits for adventurous souls. Beyond the main waterfall, the river upstream leads to other hidden pools and cascades. Many travelers call it the emerald oasis of Gerês, perfect for swimming, exploring, and snapping unbeatable shots — just remember to respect the nature and not swim into restricted zones . --- **For more tips follow me on Google. I have a lot of maps and places to visit all around the world 🌎 all for free for my followers on Google Maps.**

Great hike and beautiful views! Much history here. Be sure to visit the museum too.
Mike A — Google review
A short 15 min or so hike up to the ruins. The views are stunning! Just note that the air IS thinner up in this town and so you may notice huffing and puffing a little more than usual on the walk up and down. I have slightly compromised lungs and noticed but it wasn't anything too concerning. Some of the best views in Portugal in my opinion!
Christopher S — Google review
Lovely short walk to the top with outstanding views and remnants of the castle ramparts to explore. The walk up is quite a steep climb but well worth the effort. The monument to the local working dog breed who helped shape the livelihoods of the people of the area is a very appropriate tribute.
Gwendolynn R — Google review
The castle was nice with a breathtaking view. The walk/hike up was refreshing but I do recommend to avoid it during the warmest hours during summer as it will get quite hot and there's really no shade to be found.
Alina G — Google review
Loved to film it with the drone, but must be hard to acce d, totally LOTR vibe

Really good views (assuming it isn't raining). Easy walk from town with steps and handrails. Possessed of big lizards, almost Dragon sized, (very small dragons early season 1 GOT sized).

Fervenza do Toxa

Nature & Parks
Fervenza do Toxa is a stunning route that runs between Silleda and Vila de Cruces in Pontevedra, part of the PRG-18 trail. Designated as a Site of Community Importance, it offers a clearly marked path with plenty to see along the way. The waterfall can be viewed from both the top and bottom, providing an unforgettable experience despite some access limitations. Visitors recommend visiting during off-peak times for a more peaceful experience.
Beautiful trail to get to the waterfall that is quite impressive! One of the tallest in Galicia. A worth visit if you’re around. Make sure you wear a cape when you get close haha
Giselle J — Google review
The waterfall is pretty nice but it does seem to take ages to walk down to it from the car park. Then you have to walk all the way back up again! The main negative point was the flies - I was literally swarmed by them and it was horrible - thankfully only in the upper half of the path and at the car park and not so much at the waterfall itself.
Ted G — Google review
Great easy trail! perfect for everyone! Nice, gentle walk through a lush canopy of ash, cork, chestnut, oak, and laurel trees—plenty of shade to keep things cool and relaxing. One walking path leads to a mirador perched on massive rocks, where you catch that “wow” view of the waterfall before heading down to the base. I saw families and even seniors mastering the trail with ease. The climb to the mirador does include stairs and some steep sections—but totally manageable, especially if you go at your own pace. I hit this walk at the end of the day, and yeah, I was tired—but everything was doable. The waterfall is a showstopper: a powerful free-fall drop of about 30 meters—one of the tallest in Galicia—and the roar and mist are truly immersive. There are neat stone picnic tables close by—ideal for a quick rest or snack while you soak it all in. On top of the beautiful scenery, the area has a climate similar to the Pacific Northwest, with humidity that keeps ferns and lush growth thriving. You’ll feel it in the air—it’s refreshing, but expect a bit of sticky warmth on the return climb up. Definitely recommend for a relaxed outing that delivers magic every step of the way.

Castle of Lindoso

Castle

Castle of Lindoso is a well-preserved medieval fortress offering scenic views and a collection of historic granaries below. The 13th-century castle boasts impressive battlements and overlooks the Lindoso Dam, an engineering marvel providing electricity to the region. Visitors can explore the outer wall for free and pay a small fee to access the inside wall and tower, where archaeological items are on display. Additionally, nearby grain granaries built in granite add to the charm of this beautiful site.
Beautifull castle. A lot if history. Top reccomended
Artur V — Google review
Stayed free in this charming little village/town with the most amazing and well preserved/restored castle . There is a small cover charge €3 per adult from memory and it’s well worth the money . Walking around the tops of the walls gives you a sense of what it must have been like back in the day with an advancing army, they have the castle laid out in such a way that you can learn of the past as you walk slowly around this lovely structure. It is well worth visit and I fully recommend it .
Aidan M — Google review
Incredible medieval castle with breathtaking views! The Castle of Lindoso is absolutely worth the visit! Perched high above the village, it offers stunning panoramic views of the mountains and valley below. The castle itself is beautifully preserved — you can walk around the old walls, explore the towers, and really get a feel for what life might have been like centuries ago. Right outside the castle are the traditional espigueiros (stone granaries), which make the whole place even more special — it’s like stepping back in time. The combination of history, nature, and local culture is just perfect. The surrounding village is charming and quiet, and the people are very friendly. It’s a peaceful place where you can take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and take amazing photos. If you love history, architecture, or just discovering authentic spots in Portugal, don’t miss this one!
Claudia C — Google review
Enjoyed this place! You can walk the outer castle wall for free, and then pay 1.50€ to walk around the inside wall, and go up into the tower. There are some archeological items on display there too. There is also a very cool community oven to view. Worth a stop if you are in or around the national park.
Michelle J — Google review
Interesting Castle with fascinating raised granaries. The granaries that surround Castle Lindoso are known as espigueiros, distinctive stone granaries built primarily in the 17th and 18th centuries to dry and store corn and other grains. Each granary is entirely made of stone and raised on pillars to protect the stored grain from rodents and damp. The walls have slits for ventilation, helping to keep the grain dry. The roofs are formed by granite slabs joined at an angle, and a stone cross on the top is a common feature intended to ward off evil spirits and thieves.
Gordon N — Google review

A nice small slice of history en route to the national park. There is not much to see here as the castle seems to have been more of an outpost near the border with Spain. It costs 1.50 Euros to see the inside and the tower. There are audio plays and information in Portuguese about the castle.

Magnificent place. The road there is steep and well hidden, sat nav got confused, but if you follow the signs, you'll be alright. The Santuario is impressive. From the side of the charge is a narrow path where you can hike to the above mountain lake passing big waterfalls.

A great place to witness as the mountains surround this beautiful place of worship. Although our visit was short and sweet, it is sad to see the sight of the hotel nearby which looked abandoned during the time we spent there.

It's a spooky place! But a great view and lots of history. You'll see the power of the church. They always have the biggest and best situated buildings in nearly every european town. That's hard to see but it's worth a break if you're in the park. :)

A fantastic place to visit! Very peaceful and interesting. We thought it was a shame that when we visited we were the only ones there. Because this place is well worth a visit. Simply unbelievable that not more folks visit here. But perhaps it is simply because it is off the beaten track (i.e. not near the likes of Geres etc.). I can highly recommend it!

Holy Portuguese Jesus! This place is amazing, and also a little bit weird. Make sure you take a peek in each of the little hut things. Bonus, after climbing all those stairs there’s a river off to the side you can dip in. Just don’t plan on doing the hike above the chapel- it’s closed for landslides. Or if you don’t speak the language and do the hike anyways because you don’t know what all the danger signs are saying…walk carefully.

Pazo de Oca is a breathtaking mansion with medieval origins, reconstructed in the 18th century. The estate features a fascinating history and includes a church and workers' houses. The French-style gardens are adorned with decorative Galician Sargardelos ceramic pots, lakes, fountains, and mazes. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the gardens where they can admire geese, swans, and ducks.
Stunning and mysterious garden estate of a former lord. €10 per person to enter but the estate is quite large with several sections of gardens, and swans and geese roaming its waterways. We walked through on a gray Galician spring raining day and it felt like being taken back in time or into a RPG video game.

Excellent varied garden with water features, terraces, camellia hedges and tunnels as well as standard camellias and fruit trees. Attractive buildings and garden features. Allow one to two hours for the garden.

(Translated by Google) An experience that must be lived and that costs about €22 for approximately 2 hours, which fly by. It is necessary to reserve in advance by calling one of the two telephone numbers listed on their website. Parking is easy in the surrounding area and can be accessed both through the hotel and through the water palace itself. Likewise, you must bring a swimsuit, flip flops, a towel and a pool cap; although there they have free flip flops at your disposal and there is even the possibility of buying a souvenir hat for €4. The use of the mask is optional and they give you a plastic bag to put the towel inside, as well as the corresponding key to the locker that you have to store your personal belongings. Taking photos inside is prohibited out of respect for other people's privacy, but at the end of the day they let me take them since it was empty. ¡Imposible no quedarte dormido ahí!

(Translated by Google) The Water Palace of the Mondariz Spa has spectacular facilities in a privileged environment. A must visit if you are in Galicia or if you simply want to spend a weekend of disconnection away from stress. The SPA consists of: a large central pool with water beds, waterfall, jacuzzis, cinema necks, etc. It also has footbaths, an outdoor hot water pool, saunas, whirlpools, vertical jets at different heights, etc. The design of the SPA and its distribution is one of the best among all those in the state, even the best. It is true that 2 of the 6 saunas they have were not working, I hope they fix it soon. Despite this, I give the 5 stars because the treatment of all the staff makes up for it. Many thanks to Belén, Cali and Pili from Reception and to David, Sebas and Julián the Lifeguards for the treatment and attention. Mondariz never disappoints! Interesting to go before dinner and try the local cuisine!! Finally, highlight the Gándara Fountain, where you can drink mineral water with very beneficial properties for your health and which is located right in front of the Water Palace! (Original) El Palacio del Agua del Balneario de Mondariz dispone de unas espectaculares instalaciones en un entorno privilegiado. Beautifully located surrounded by nature and nice views on villages. The castelo was closed but we will return to visit the interior.

Quite a step climb and lots of steps, obviously, to this rebuilt castle. It is a guided tour only, viewing videos of actors explaining the history of the castle. It was in Spanish although they have the videos in English as well. The guide was very helpful and for 4 euros per person very reasonable, they only take a card not cash. The views of the countryside are stunning.

Small castle in perfect condition and with magnificent views from the tower. Has a small exhibition inside. 30 minutes will be enough for the visit. Definitely " vale a pena" PS Be aware of siesta hours !)

This is one of most beautiful castles in Galicia dating back to early 12th Century & is situated on Landín Hill 334 m above sea level overlooking Condado valley & River Tea close to Portuguese border in dense 30 hectares of woodland ( with over 40 different species of trees). You can see over 100 villages from top !! It's named after the cork trees which once stood here. It's in Ponteareas Council area. The scene of alot of conflicts between those trying to gain control of it.

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Plaza de la Lena, Eirado da Lena is a culinary gem that beautifully marries rustic charm with modern gastronomy. This Michelin-starred establishment in Pontevedra offers an exquisite dining experience, showcasing elevated tasting menus that highlight creative meat and fish dishes rooted in Galician tradition. The ambiance feels warm and inviting, reminiscent of home, while Chef Nake Bretal expertly crafts each dish with a fusion twist.
Small and charming restaurant in the historical centre of Pontevedra. Michelin starred. We had the tasting menu and it was wonderful. The two highlights for me were the aspargus dish and the cuttlefish, which were both outstanding. Excellent service. Good value for money given its quality and reputation.
Sigbjørn H — Google review
It was an enjoyable experience with the food quality, the attentive service and its setting in the well preserved old quarter. Especially the delicious well cooked Dorada with crispy skin. The recommended aged Albariño from a small winery was wonderful and very reasonably priced.
Stephen N — Google review
Absolutely fantastic experience! An exceptional delight in a restaurant dead centre between the hustle and bustle of Pontevedra. Starters where magnificent taking us on a journey of Galician tradition updated to today with a simplicity nearing perfection. This is worth many stars in my book!
Inna K — Google review
If you like fish then this is the place to go. A 1 michelin star fish restaurant that is punching way above its weight class and wouldn't surprise me if it add a second star soon. Now let's get down to a review, if you don't like fish then you might struggle a little bit, the starter course on the A la Carte menu is a little bit limited and the fixed menus are not going to be for you. However if you do like fish then you are going to be in heaven. An amuse bouche started things off with percebes in miso and some freshly made bread which was absolutely delightful. For me being a non-fish eater (the rest of the family adore it) I had a main course of local Galician Beef with a date compote and a sprinkling of veg which was simple amazing. What you do have to seriously remember though is to leave room for pudding as if the fish is good in this restaurant the deserts are even better. I had a desert which was a play on coffe with a coffe based sponge, cofeee ice cream and coffee paper (??!!..but it worked and tasted of coffee) which was simply amazing. Now comes the painful bit (which really was reasonable for what we had) for four of us (2 adults and 2 chuldren) the bill was €172 without wine but the quality that we had this was actually very reasonable. The $64million question...would I go again? In a heartbeat.. this place is fantastic and a little gem in Pontavedra.
Oliver G — Google review
The food was good. The service was appalling. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection however i wished it had more vegetables on the side or a little bit more mash potato or greens. Lamb was okay - nothing special, again could have used more veggies on the side not just for decoration. The bean dish was very well balanced and the fish super tender good. The coffee quality is not great. I wished they bought better coffee beans. Loved the presentation, the tableware was of premium quality and even some of the cutlery was Cutipol, which I appreciated. Negative: the service was very rude, the guy (Rogelio) that served us had a very bad attitude almost throwing the plates in our table, he literally looked like he hated working there. I asked to please take a picture of the wine bottle i was drinking and when he brought it back he basically slammed it on the table, my husband and I were shocked. No one asked us once how was the food, if we were enjoying it or needed anything else. Besides bringing us the dishes, the service was non existent. For a €130 bill i expect more from service, so I will not be coming back. Plenty good food elsewhere in Galicia with better customer service.

Nice location. Great local food cooked with talent. Prices are a bit high for Galicia, but the quality ratio is excellent. It’s like a Michelin star restaurant. Although they don’t have.
Jiajun Y — Google review
we had the short menu (9 dishes including desserts) and was perfectly enough for a dinner. the tuna (with a perfect spicy touch) and the egg (the mix between egg and Galician cheese is amazing) were the best. Special mention for the desserts, both of them were awesome. it definitely worth it. just to comment a point that could be checked, it was a bit hot in the restaurant (not enough to be uncomfortable) I was wondering if it was because of the government's energy policies, but all the windows were open.

Igrexa da Virxe Peregrina, also known as the Sanctuary of the Pilgrim Madonna, is a late 18th-century chapel located in Pontevedra. The church is designed in a distinctive rounded shape resembling a scallop shell, symbolizing St. James. It features stained-glass windows and a mollusk shell font. The exterior showcases an image of the Virgin Mary dressed as a pilgrim alongside St. James and St. Joseph.
I had the chance to visit the Igrexa da Virxe Peregrina in Pontevedra, and I was truly struck by its beauty. The church’s unique shell-shaped design is unlike anything I’ve seen before, and its neoclassical style adds to its elegance. The interior is peaceful and welcoming, with stunning artwork and details. It was fascinating to learn about its connection to the Camino de Santiago and its importance as a pilgrimage site. The church stands as a lovely symbol of both religious devotion and local history.

Interesting shape of the church in the middle of the city. It is much smaller than I expected. It is free to enter but costs 1€ to climb up to the top of the dome and look down on the inside of the church. Definitely worth the Euro for this experience. It is a stop for the pilgrims on their journey to Santiago.

The original Virgin Pilgrim Church. Understood that this was a site of a tower under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Santiago. Pilgrims used to travel through Pontevedra and stop over for prayers here. Beautiful church inside with Camino seashell emblems all over the church including confessional box, Benches, statues etc. The pilgrim mass is daily at 730pm and apparently there’s also an English pilgrim mass later in the evening (but we can’t confirm.)

Nice place on the Camino, lobby can use a little work to hide washer and dryer. Room is spacious and bathroom is good. But sink is useless with a faucet handle so big it makes the sink extremely difficult to use
Jim J — Google review
The location is great and that's it.the room is not sound proof, the curtain only closes half way and does not block the light . The mattres and pillow are so uncomfortable that I never fully fell asleep in the nights I stay here. It might be OK if you are doing Camino and so tired so you won't mind, but definitely don't stay here for pleasure. Also pricy for what it is.

Fantastic location. We stayed 2 nights when walking the Camino in early May. Daniel looked after us for breakfast and evening meals. Wonderful traditional food on both evenings which included slow cooked beef which was amazing. He recommended the wine for my fish meal which was delicious. He was very caring and thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to anyone to stay here. Thanks again Daniel for looking after us and thanks to the lady that checked us in and I think carried our bags upstairs

Nestled in the charming town of Ponte de Lima, the Ponte Romano-Gótica de Ponte de Lima stands as a testament to centuries of history. This magnificent stone bridge, originally constructed during the Roman Empire and later renovated in medieval times, is not just an architectural marvel but also a vital part of the town's identity. As you stroll across this historic landmark, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Lima River and its picturesque surroundings.
🎉 Ponte de Lima Chess Festival – A Cultural Journey with Every Move I came to Ponte de Lima for the Chess Festival in April 2024 — a quiet town with deep roots and timeless charm. Unlike the buzz of big cities, here the pace slows down, letting you breathe and focus. And during the tournament, I had the rare chance to face off against two Grandmasters — a personal milestone that made the whole trip more than worthwhile. 🌳 Beyond the tournament hall, the town came alive with a weekend market along the tree-lined promenade. Local artisans displayed pottery, books, and crafts, while the gentle flow of the Lima River reflected the relaxed rhythm of the place. It felt less like an event, more like being part of a living, breathing cultural moment.
Alfred N — Google review
Simply stunning Roman bridge , walking over it and imagining how many people and years it took to build and the innovation of the era simply blows my mind and it still stands very proud . The arches of the bridge are illuminated with a long string of lights either side every night and is lovely to see . This is “a have to experience” piece of history for all to enjoy.

A long walk along a very rough pathway, wear sturdy footwear and look down as there are a lot of loose stones. Nice to see, but a bit underwhelming. The "replica viking boats" were not what I expected, I thought that you would be able to go onboard and have a trip down the river, but that was because I had seen a photo of that happening. Catedral Tui is a 13th-century cathedral that showcases a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. The fortress-like structure overlooks Praza de San Fernando and features a stoic Romanesque style with an ornate main portal considered the earliest work of Gothic sculpture on the Iberian Peninsula. Visitors can explore the lovely Gothic cloister, main nave, and chapels with a standard admission that includes a multilingual audio guide.
Beautiful cathedral 3 euro to take tour guided audio app that plays on your phone telling you the history out the back you can look across river and see Portugal

We arrived in the morning and it wasn’t possible to go in as the “tour” didn’t start until 10! Just put our head into the entrance for a snap. That is all the time it was worth even if you wanted to spend for € for audio guide of garden and the tower. We were on bikes and the effort to navigate the steep cobblestone streets wasn’t worth the effort. There are better ones out there that don’t charge.
Simon R — Google review
Not as large as I expected, but a nice cloister with a garden under renovation. A good view on the river behind the cloister and a lot of gilded wood in the he samctuary. One chapel was converted to a small museum of interest mostly if you're interested in liturgical garments and alter finery.

I used Tuitrans to transport my bag on the Camino Portuguese in May. The service delivered the bag during the 15 days of walking without fail. I had one accomidation which did not have a reception. Not a problem. Tuitrans provide a location at a nearby restaurant for bag pick up and drop off. This was the first time I used a bag service on the Camino and I was very pleased. My cousins and I just walked the Camino Portugués, Spiritual Variant and I would like to recognize Tuitrans and their wonderful staff for making the journey a little easier. After booking our accommodations, we learned that not all luggage transfer companies service the Spiritual Variant. Tuitrans services that route and their staff worked with us behind the scenes to ensure that our reservation was accurate and drop-off and pick-up points were clearly communicated. Only two properties were not serviceable, but this was no problem for Tuitrans, as they quickly provided alternative locations which were easily accessible and near our accommodations. Our four (4) luggages made it from point to point in a timely manner and were always awaiting our arrival. Tuitrans offers competitive prices and reliable service. We will definitely use them again on our next Camino and recommend that you do as well! Buen Camino, Peregrino!

Our experience with Tuitrans was flawless. From the booking process, setting our itinerary on The Portuguese Coastal Route, payment, and a date change, they know what they are doing and made our journey all the more enjoyable. During our Camino, our two bags were handled exactly as promised. It was such a joy to see our bags front and center at each layover point. We found ourselves promoting their services to many other pilgrims we met during our trip. The service was affordable, reliable, and perfectly carried out. Thank you Tuitrans!

Thank you for your great service! I used Tuitrans to transport my luggage for my Portuguese Coastal Camino from Porto all the way to Santiago de Compostela including the spiritual variant and had absolutely no issues, my bags were picked up and waiting for me at every location when I got there in the afternoon. I even had to adjust one of my accommodations the night before and they were very responsive and it was easy to switch. Great job! I highly recommend their service and level of communication was outstanding from the moment I reached out to start planning and they easily accommodated multiple changes I made before we finalized the route.

Best spot, to see the sunset in Vigo! You can see all of the ocean, the Cies Islands, the bridge! I totally recommend it to everyone. Don't go without a cerveza! For picknick with your friends, it's the best as well!! Also, you can run and do sports around it, the best to do in the sunrise or sunset;)

At the top of the mountain, right in the middle of the fortress that crowns it, some walls from the 17th century that today are the best vantage point of Vigo and the estuary to the Atlantic Ocean. Within these walls are the castle of O Castro and its gardens, as well as sculptures such as the monument to Vigo by Camilo Nogueira or the tribute to the medieval poet Martín Codax. Walking down the paths bordering the fortifications towards the historic quarter, you will come to a new vantage point where the Rande Galleons Monument is located.. It consists of anchors and various cannons that were found from three of the dozens of ships sunk in the Vigo estuary during the Battle of the Rande in 1702, when the Anglo-Dutch fleet and a Spanish fleet escorted by a French collided. Very interesting place, a gem in history.

Praia de Samil is the largest and most popular beach in Vigo, Spain. This 1.2-km stretch of white sandy beach has been a local favorite since the late 1960s. It offers modern amenities such as public swimming pools, a skating rink, cafes, picnic areas, and public restrooms. The area also features a paved promenade with plenty of parking nearby. Visitors can enjoy activities like beach volleyball and relax at tapas bars along the coast.
Praia de Samil is a vibrant and lively beach, perfect for families and those looking for a mix of relaxation and fun. Located near Vigo, it’s one of the most popular beaches in Galicia, and for good reason. The long stretch of soft, golden sand is ideal for sunbathing, and the calm waters are great for swimming. What sets Samil apart are its excellent facilities. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, and shops along the promenade, making it easy to grab a meal or enjoy a drink with a view. The beach also has sports courts, playgrounds, and even swimming pools, offering activities for all ages. One of the best parts of my visit was the stunning sunset over the Cíes Islands, which can be seen in the distance. Whether you’re looking to unwind or enjoy a more active day by the sea, Praia de Samil has something for everyone. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the Vigo area!

Large beach, soft sand, free parking lots with many free spaces. Nearby along the beach there are free swimming pools for children under 12 years old and picnic zone. A good place to relax.

A beautiful, beautiful beach! We were there on July 4th and the water was ice cold! but it's an amazing spot.

It is certainly the most frequented beach in Vigo, yet it is also quite beautiful. During the summer, one can find beach bars and pools for children. It is a pleasant location to unwind and witness stunning sunsets in the autumn.

Better go to Cangas or somewhere else. After seeing tens of Galician beaches this one wasn't impressive because the water is dirty and isn't for swimming in my opinion. But for sunbathing the beach is enough and there are also small parks around. Toilets and showers are available too

Personalized attention if you have questions about the history of the area and the mussels. Personally, the customer service is unbeatable. I highly recommend it. (Translated by Google) We took the trip to the mussel farms in the Pontevedra estuary with Cruceros Rías Baixas. A crew member livened up the trip with explanations about the coast. Upon arriving at the raft, in addition to explaining how mussels are farmed (very interesting), we could see the submerged part from the boat's underwater viewing areas. On the return trip, we enjoyed tasting trays of mussels with a bottle of Albariño, or water and soft drinks, accompanied by lively music. The crew was very pleasant, especially the person giving the explanations. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time.

Cíes Islands, part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, are a natural paradise just a short ferry ride from Vigo. The untouched landscapes feature powdery sand beaches, clear waters, and lush greenery. Visitors can hike well-marked trails or relax on secluded beaches like Rodas and Figueiras while observing bird life. Praia de Rodas has been recognized as one of the world's best beaches by The Guardian.
Amazingly beautiful place. Clear and clean water (although it'll be a bit fresh for some!), fish jumping out of the water, lovely sandy beaches. Well worth the visit.

Amazing beaches. I went in early May and they weren't crowded at all. The sole reason to visit Vigo.

A beautiful wild natural park..with paved walking routes and a campsite. It is spark so You can either walk, swim or take a picnic. Be careful of the seagulls, one of them swooped down and stole my lunch at the restaurant at the port.

Wow, what a beautiful place. Please note, you should leave 1h for parking in Vigo and getting your tickets. Ships are all on time so don’t be late. The island itself is incredible, you easily can spend 6-7 h especially if the weather is warm. The white sand beaches are amazing, the same as very blue ocean. I would recommend to spend one night in the camping, a pity we didn’t do that. Come here, you won’t regret!

Breath taking scenery. The large yellow bolders and rock added to the unique beauty of the mountains. The sand is soft like clay. You can walk and not have to worry about stepping on a hard rock. The water is clear and stunningly beautiful. It is quite cold though.

Just speechless! Amazing place on Earth, with white sandy beaches. I have never seen sooo white sand before like this island has. It’s like a 40 mins trip with Catamaran from mainland, not sure how much is it if you book independently, I went by cruise and booked the shore experience through the cruise line. There is a bar on the island, you can buy cold beverages and snacks too. Toilets are also provided. No rubbish bins on the islands, YOU MUST take all rubbish back with you, really important. You are allowed to swim in the ocean but not in the lake. Overall an amazing breathtaking place, highly recommended to visit.

Most beautiful beach in the world! Camping, hiking, kayaking and star gazing! The ultimate place to be one with nature. 2 restaurants and a bar. You can bring your own food and really do camping or eat at the restaurants. We did a little bit of both, mostly the alcohol part😛 coming from the USA we couldn't bring camping gear. They have everything you need but have still preserved the islands. They have kept it from becoming commercialized. There is a limit to how many people can visit a day.

Ancient Ruins
The Castro de Santa Trega is an archaeological site located atop a hill, showcasing the ruins of a Celtic castro dating back to the 1st century B.C. The site also houses a museum, providing visitors with an educational experience. The summit can be accessed by driving up and parking in a small lot, though it can get crowded during peak tourism times. Despite its lack of handicap accessibility, visitors are treated to breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal, and surrounding areas.
What an incredible place this is!! To be able to witness the remains of an ancient settlement is simply amazing! Inhabited since 100BC-100AD according to archaeological evidence, even though there is some evidence indicating people’s presence here well before this timeline!! All you can do is sit, watch and ponder what it must have looked like back then! Further up the Monte Trega there is a restaurant, a hotel and some souvenir shops and plenty of car parking space. It’s an area well worth visiting!!

Definitely worth visiting. Best place in Spanish Galicia! Iron Age Fort of Castro Culture rich in artefacts and amazing structures. Additionally view is outstanding from the top. There are two rebuild houses and many visible. On the top there is bar toilet, some gift shops etc. Remember to walk around and change path going down as there are more houses around not only on the main way!

A steep drive out of the village with the views only getting better and better. You pay a small entrance fee to a very happy gentleman in the ticket office. This gets you entry also to the museum. Lots of history and amazing views of the coast line.
