You can explore it on your own, taking a local bus from downtown Heraklion for over 2 euros- 2nd zone. Early afternoon there are less people. If you like you can hire a local guide or use your phone to download valuable information. I recommend 2-3 hours of your time. There is a toilet before the gate - nothing inside. There are few benches you can sit while walking around. There is a cafe and souvenir shop with not expensive basic guidebooks in different languages. There is a huge parking lot, I believe for free. We did not need it, since we used a bus.

After the guide was done we had only 20 min to explore the rest or buy some suverni. Would be great if it would have been 1-1,5 hours after extra. But overall it was a great enjoyment.

This museum is phenomenal! Informative, clearly laid out, fabulous collection of artefacts. Super helpful for understanding and appreciating the history and culture of the Minoan people (especially alongside a visit to Knossos Palace). I would recommend spending at least two hours here—I did 1.5 hours and wished I had more time. Entry was free on the day I visited.

The Heraklion Archaeological Museum is an absolute must visit in order to gain an understanding and appreciation of the astonishing Minoan civilization. Suggest visiting the Archaeological site of Knossos first and then visit the archaeological museum. Focus especially on the Phaistos Disc, the priestesses with the upraised arms, and the amazingly beautiful frescoes. Suggest you allow two to three hours to get a good tour of the museum. Also, keep in mind that after 1450 BC, Crete had a blended Mycenaean-Minoan culture.

Totally a MUST-visit after Knossos palace. The collections are absolutely incredible - so detailed, beautifully displayed, and full of context that really ties everything together. You finally get the full picture of Minoan history, myths, and daily life (and honestly, it makes Knossos make so much more sense 😅). I loved how well-organized everything is - from tiny gold jewelry to fresco fragments. Ypu could easily spend hours here if you’re into ancient culture. Unfortunately I came 1.5h before closing so I still have a feeling that there was so much more to see. Tip: go after Knossos, not before - it’s like getting the answers after the adventure 😉

Had the option of coming here as part of a Knossos tour. It is a complete no brainer to choose to visit as the museum amplifies and expands your appreciation of the history of Crete particularly after visiting Knossos. I was unable to book tickets online beforehand, but the queue was worth standing in for 15-20 minutes, i'm unsure how long it is normally but there was on a Wednesday a later opening time of 1-8, so it was just a one of those things. However it was a superb building and rooms to view and look at the archaeological finds. Everything was densely packed in but was thoughtfully laid out and I could have spent much longer than the 1.5-2 hours I had available, and this was just prioritising the first floor with the Minoan finds.

Amazing place full of items mainly from Knossos Palace. I would recommend visiting this place prior to seeing Knossos Palace. There is a cafe with a great view over the part of Heraklion and sea port. To avoid the crowds i believe it is better to come in an afternoon.

What can I say, the archaeology in this museum is amazing. The amount and quality of the finds on display at stunning. It covers all throughout the ages. We visited Knossos before visiting the museum, everything just slots into place and you get to understand the history and relevance of the finds.

Last 3 minutes of drive up are unpaved and like others I got a flat tire. Otherwise the drive up is beautiful but also quite dramatic and treacherous. Not for the faint of heart! The cave is an amazing part of history and myth so I couldn't skip it it. One plaque at the entrance of the site gives a brief detail of its significance. Best if you read up yourself. According to Google the site is open til 8pm. Sign at entrance says 4pm. Was officially closed when I arrived but thankfully the gate door was open.

I would have given it 5 stars if not the unnecessary rails - in my opinion they could have been removed after the exploration of the cave. It is a really nice cave in terms of its shape and place, but the smell - it was hard for me to stay there longer, very strong smell of rotten wood and pigeon poop. It was very nice just to stay a bit longer next to the cave, it was very calms, only the birds and the echoes of their wing flaps bouncing off the cave. Beautiful little flowers. Our 9y/o son says spent all the time playing with the remaining snow just next to the cave. I would suggest to grab some snacks with you as it is a very nice place to sit with the view of plateau and have some snacks.

Found the car park there is a dirt track wglhich goes to another car park. The walk up was 430m and was really pretty. The caves had a guide but was full of bird poo. Personally found it a bit off putting but was free

The cave is noteworthy for its religious and mythical significance. Not an especially interesting-looking cave though still worth a visit. The highlight for us were actually the views of the mountains and the plain on the way to the cave. Spectacular scenery! Note that the last 1.5km of road to the cave is unsealed, single lane, rocky and has no Armco barriers. Daunting… if there are two cars passing each other..luckily there is very little traffic… we didn’t pass any other cars on the way up or down. Do-able.

I’ve seen many people turn back due to (presumed?) road conditions, It’s possible to drive up with a 2WD as long as you’re careful! Get to the site from Angoni in the north if you have a 2WD, other roads require a 4WD Quite a number of people in these reviews confuse this cave with the diktaen cave or psychrocave and claim this one is not worth it. The cave itself is not the typical fairytale cave- unlike the other contender - but rather the cave where you would expect Zeus to be hidden from Kronos. This has been a major site in the Minoan and Hellenic religions, evidenced by the finds made here, and just that fact makes it worth going. There is also a very interesting and imposing altar from antiquity at the entrance that is quite unique.

Great views, and interesting place. Worth to see. PS: in case 1km climbing is not for you, there's a road till the very end. It looks gravel, but in fact only beginning and the middle part are gravel. The rest is solid. With slow driving regular car can make it.

The drive up alone to this cave is worth it for the truly stunning scenery and interesting views, the plateau is incredible and looks like an African savannah, truly dripping in natural beauty. We arrived at the end of the tarmac road and carried on up the gravel road to a parking area just below the entrance, we walked up to the entrance to be greeted by a young lady and her son, she gave us a book on the area and informed us the entrance was free, she then proceeded to give us a guided tour, not a great deal to see but worth it none the less, over all a great visit and definitely worth the effort.

We visited this place yesterday, and it turned out to be a reminder not to rely too much on tourist guides, suggestions, or popular tips. The beach itself is, of course, beautiful, but it was so crowded and chaotic that it really took away from the experience. The parking lot is located a few hundred meters above the beach, and to get there you need to go down very steep stairs. One definitely has to be careful, especially for elderly visitors or those with small children. I actually witnessed a little boy falling and scraping his knees badly on the way down. On site, there is a bar, some chairs, and a toilet. The scenery is undeniably stunning – the rock formations, including the famous heart-shaped rock, are impressive. However, the sheer number of people, along with the constant arrival of boats unloading tourists, completely robs the place of its natural charm. There is no harmony, no energy, no peace. Despite the undeniable beauty, the river mouth is simply overcrowded with visitors. After about two hours we left, climbing back up the steep path to the parking lot (currently €3). Afterwards, we found another beach just 7 minutes away, where we were completely alone – and as the locals say, everyone can find their own beach here.

Beautiful beach. From the parking lot, it’s a short hike down to the beach, with beautiful views along the hike. It’s all downhill to the beach and all uphill back, so be prepared. The beach gets very crowded after 9:30-10 AM, especially when the boats start to arrive and drop people off.

A true gem to visit while in Crete! Steps are a bit steep but with care can be done. We were in our beach flip-flops and no issues! The palm tree forest, the river( can actually walk thru it upstream for scenic view) and the beach are spectacular!

Just no. That’s what comes to mind when I think about this beach. Overhyped, overcrowded, too much effort to reach and too little reward once you get there. The famous palm grove isn’t physically blocked off, but there are signs saying you can’t enter because of fire hazard. Of course, people ignore them and walk up the river from its mouth to snap photos of the palms. The water here is also colder than on most southern beaches, which doesn’t exactly make it inviting. Getting there is another issue. It’s a solid 15-minute walk each way, with the return being steep uphill. I’m a hiker, and even for me it was effort — I timed it. Expect uneven rocky stairs and a frustrating climb back if you’re not steady on your feet. If you’re absolutely set on visiting, skip the hike and use the boat service from Plakias. Otherwise, there are so many better options for your day. Souda Beach in the south, for example, is a far more enjoyable choice.

Easily the most magical place I’ve ever been with the most unique landscape EVER! Absolutely LOVED this spot and recommend exploring here if you’re in Crete!

This place has so much potential, but unfortunately, it's being ruined by tourists who don’t seem to care. There was plastic floating in the water, which was really sad to see in what could be a magical spot. It was pretty overwhelming because it was crowded. The hike up can be intense, but it’s doable if you pace yourself. At the top, there’s a guy selling fruit and water — I highly recommend grabbing something from him. If you’re not up for the hike, I noticed there’s a boat service that picks up and drops off visitors. Overall, it is a beautiful location, but to be honest, I’m not sure I’d recommend it simply because of how busy and poorly treated it is. Definitely bring water shoes — the rocks in the water are slippery.

Pro - the location is perfect, right in the old town with easy access to the beaches, restaurants and bars, and all major attractions. The room I stayed in, I3, with courtyard view, has the necessary accommodations for a trip - fridge, mini oven, iron, hairdrier, washing machine. The bed was comfortable. Stella, the hostess, was very nice and understanding. Con - I was anxious when I read in 2 other reviews that the air conditioner from the room next door is noisy, and I was hoping this was an overstatement. Unfortunately, it was an understatement. Room 3 does not have a noise canceling window, and the air conditioner from the room next door is extremely noisy (imagine a helicoper noise all night long). When I signaled this issue, the owner called some technicians that sprayed the machines with water, which has nothing to do with the root cause, these should be replaced. I did manage to get used to the noise, as I slept with ear buds and a pillow on my head, but I need to be honest and warn others, especially if you are light sleepers.

Inexpensive, but there was a bad smell coming from bathroom and also there are restrictions with using the boiler. The apartment had old furniture aswell.

Fortezza – A Worthwhile Visit with Room for Improvement. Historically, Fortezza is a fascinating site and absolutely worth a visit while in Rethymno. The entrance fee is €5 for a single adult, and you can explore the grounds in about 40 minutes to an hour—assuming you can handle the intense July heat and direct sun. The panoramic views of the sea and the city are stunning, offering plenty of breathtaking photo opportunities for those into photography or scenic walks. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. There is no guided tour or detailed signage throughout the site, so those interested in learning the historical context may want to research in advance. Some areas appear to be accessible for children, but I would strongly caution parents—there are several open drops with only a small chain as a barrier and no warning signs. Supervision is absolutely necessary. Maintenance could be improved. We noticed visible garbage in a few of the indoor areas that were otherwise open to visitors. There is a stand-style café inside selling coffee and cold drinks, which seemed popular, though I did not purchase anything myself. Washrooms are available near the entrance, along with a small gift shop offering some interesting items. Overall, the Fortezza is a memorable and culturally rich stop, but it would benefit from better upkeep, clearer safety measures, and more historical information for visitors.

€5 per person. No wait time. It's a nice city view point and you need around 30minutes to stroll around the Fortezza. Not much to see within the area though. Visited in early September at around 12:00 and it was warm and a bit windy, still manageable to walk around for 30minutes.

Nice place to visit. We payed 12 euros for one kid and 2 adults. The view is amazing, but there is no guide and nothing written about the history of this place. Feels like they don’t invest much of taking care of it. Worth visiting bit could definitely be improved.

Big fortress with some preserved ruins and buildings. Some chambers are accessible and are extremely interesting. Unfortunately there is a smell around lots of the ruins.

Fortezza is certainly worth a look. The streets up to the Fort when on foot are stunning and then the views from the Fort of the old town are fantastic. I would avoid the midday as there is very little cover or shelter form the sun and it was very hot. The entrance fee was not bad and i would say does reflect the lack of places to see inside.

We visited this after walking past it numerous times and I think it would've been best to keep how it looks inside in our imagination. The ticket is €5 per adult and even that felt a bit much. The only thing worth seeing here is the view of the city from the fortress. Other than that, the place is just dirt, rocks and some rundown buildings. There is no tour guide or even plaques explaining what you're looking at. This place has so much potential, but it's so badly maintained... Too bad it's being managed by incompetent / uninterested people.

Fine beach if you really want to go to the beach on Santorini, but otherwise not really worth going from a tourism perspective, unless you have never seen a black-sand beach. Lots of day-beds, shops, and restaurants. Also lots of areas where you can setup your own space for the day. There is free public parking about two blocks away from the beach.

Perissa Beach in Santorini is quite an interesting spot. The water isn’t the typical clear blue you see elsewhere on Greece, and the sand has a unique grayish tone. That said, it’s a beautiful and impressive beach with plenty of local shops and restaurants nearby. Parking is easy, and overall, I definitely recommend visiting.

The path is short and quite popular, with a small kiosk at the entrance — when we visited, there was even a guitar player along the way. The beach itself is beautiful but not ideal for swimming, and you’ll need to bring your own umbrella for shade. Overall, it’s a pleasant and easy walk with lovely views.

Nice spot to do an adventurous hike to reach to the beach, but mindful it can be very windy and rocky path. Not sure if this would be good idea for elderly or children to go to the beach with the rocky and windy path

Beautiful view point on the right side of the beach. On 28 October the beach itself was closed with a rope line, you can access the beach but not swim. From the viewpoint you can climb down to the beach or take the road on the left of it. All the local busses stop at the archaeological site from which it’s a little 10 minute walk downwards. Before reaching the view point you will see a sign stating: danger no entry. But everyone continues walking to reach the viewpoint.

The Red Beach in Santorini is truly unique — its red sand and surrounding cliffs create an otherworldly landscape that feels almost like being on Mars. It’s definitely worth a visit when exploring the island.

Have you ever walked through small goat trails and climbed up and down across cliffs to access a beach? Red Beach is such a location. The beach is pretty small-scaled and with small pebbles. Quite a strange view is the result of a landslide some time ago on some storage facilities close to the cliff-side. You see bits and pieces of something which looks like a kitchen and sunbeds covered by dirt.

Another unique place on a unique island. There are several beaches on the island, and they are all different, but this one stands out the most, with its otherworldly views. You can get there by car, there is parking available, then walk for about 5 minutes along a rocky path.

We parked right in front of Saint Nicholas Church and followed the short walking path until reaching a yellow sign covered with stickers — the spot that marks the start of the Red Beach viewpoint The striking red cliffs and turquoise waters were stunning, and we were lucky to come across a violinist playing by the sea, adding a beautiful and unexpected touch to the experience

Honestly an amazing experience!!! The most important landmark in Amorgo, in my opinion. Even if you're not religious this place is definitely a work of art in itself. There is also a small museum in the church, that has a ticket fee of 3€. I recommend the visit as it adds to the historical value of this place, as it goes back centuries. Lastly the view is amazing and there are plenty of cute cats there you can pet as well. I recommend visiting the Agia Anna beach after the visit in Hozoviotisa, to cool off from all the stairs.

An absolute MUST SEE. For me, this has been a dream since I first saw the footage in the movie The Big Blue. The Monastery of Chozoviatissas is a transcendental place on Earth. I now have visited it twice with the same astonishment and awe. Make sure to take your time and inhale the very special atmosphere in and around the Monastery.

I have no words to describe this Monastery. It is truly a remarkable testament to the construction of its time. It is literally just on the side of a cliff. It was a slow and steady climb up the stairs, with lots of stops to admire the view. You need to dress modesty. Shoulders and knees covered, but there are plenty of skirts pants and scarfs to borrow before entering the Monastery. The entrance door is short, so mind your head. The Monks inside where extremely friendly and offered a much needed glass of water and a glass of the sweetest raki I have ever tasted. The taste reminded me of a spicy fruit cake. Delicious. There is a lovely room to sit and enjoy your drinks, before heading back down the stairs. Definitely a must do. If your not very fit, take your time and give the stairs a go, it is definitely worth the effort.

Must see in Amorgos. You can reach it by taxi or by rental car. Spectacular view and a lot of steps to climb. You need long pants or skirts, but they offer some when you reach the entrance. The staff there is very nice and tells you the story of the place, and they serve water and sweets.

An impressive site with its incredible location. It looks like a swallow’s nest. I hiked over from Katapola and knewI’d be too late to visit the monastery itself but enjoyed the sight!

Breathtaking view of the Aegean sea, the monastery is built inside the cliff and photographs can't describe the beauty of this seemingly impossible structure. The monks will serve some raki and loukoumi. Definitely pay a visit.

Beautiful catamaran, friendly crew! We had the best time and the lunch that was served was magnificent! We would love to take another trip! The swim spots were so unique and the captain positioned the boat for a most amazing sunset! Loved every minute of our trip!

We joined Sunset Oia for a Luxury Catamaran Day Trip around the caldera and it was one of our favorite experiences in Santorini. Getting there was easy — after tendering ashore, we rode the cable car up to Fira and met our transfer right on time. (Tip: Grab coffee and pastries at Svoronos Bakery next door while you wait!) The check-in process at the marina was impressively organized — guests are grouped by color-coded tours, and the staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. The catamaran was spotless, the crew engaging, and the itinerary covered all the highlights: Red Beach, White Beach, and the volcanic hot springs. The onboard meal was fresh and plentiful — grilled skewers, Greek salad, dolmadakia, and local wine flowing freely. The mix of scenery, swimming, and relaxation made for the perfect Santorini day. Truly a first-class experience with a team that knows how to blend hospitality and precision.

Probably the best excursion I have ever done on a trip. You board, the crew explains the rules, there’s unlimited wine s d soft drinks on coses, beer for purchase, and they feed you dinner. I had a pork souvlaki, that was amazing. It came with fresh Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves and tzatziki. The crew was super fun, and the swimming and snorkeling was amazing. 10/10 would book again.

Love love LOVED our Sunset Oia experience. We booked for two on Viator after literal weeks of deliberation on whether or not we should spent that amount of money for a sunset cruise (approx $145 USD each), not platinum booking, just regular. This trip was our favorite thing we did on our 2-week Greece vacation and possibly ever. - The staff was so kind and accommodating, we felt so taken care of before we even stepped foot on the boat to when it was time for us to be dropped off to our hotel by the Sunset Oia driver. - The boat itself was bordering the definition of luxurious, and very clean. - They did not overbook the catamaran and there was lots of space on board with the other passengers to where it felt basically like a private booking. So amazing!! - Locations were calm, and not overcrowded. When we went to swim there was only about 1 other boat in the waters, and it was the weekend. - Food was plentiful. Buffet style with options for seconds including the full-size protein options. It was also delicious. Top 3 foods we ate in Greece. So worth it I would go back to Greece and Santorini just to do this everyday. lol!

We had a private catamaran half day tour and it was perfect and magical! The crew was helpful and welcoming! The boat luxurious and spacious! The food was delicious and the swimming stops were lovely! They were very good with our food allergies :) a must!!!

The Sunset Oia boat tour was absolutely unforgettable! The views were breathtaking from start to finish, sailing around the caldera, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, and watching the sunset from the sea was pure magic. The crew was super friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the trip. The food and drinks on board were great and everything was really well organized — from pickup to drop-off. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, perfect for groups of friends.

I cannot recommend Sunset Oia Cruises enough — this was the highlight of my trip to Santorini! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (POV of a Solo female traveller.) Pickup was seamless, with a comfortable, air-conditioned van and wide seats (even at 300 lbs, I fit perfectly). Our driver was safe and professional. We did the morning tour, which I *highly* recommend over sunset — vehicle and pedestrian traffic for sunset was horrendous as we were leaving. All communication beforehand was prompt and kind, as well as easily accommodating. The boat was spacious and clean, with three swim stops and an absolutely delicious buffet lunch — fresh, high-quality, and way more than enough food for everyone! (Souvlaki of chicken/pork/veggies; dolmas; tzatki/greek salad without fillers like lettuce; pita) Drinks like water, soft drinks, and white wine are included but beer is €4 and cocktails are extra. They only accept cash. > One small suggestion: ginger ale would be a great addition to the drink menu, especially since ginger helps calm seasick stomachs. The crew worked hard, but Fotini was truly exceptional. She was constantly working while other employees took breaks or sat on their phones; and she handled even the most absurd and entitled guest behavior (“Can you calm the waves? Can you turn off the wind?”) with grace and professionalism. She was not only proactive but a natural leader — solving problems before they even arose. If I still owned my company, I would immediately hire Fotini — even if it meant paying for her visa sponsorship, flights, and accommodations, to move to Canada. Her work ethic and dedication are priceless. Companies spend huge amounts of money trying to train and build employees like her, but with Fotini, these qualities are simply who she is. Sunset Oia is very lucky to have her, and they should do everything they can to keep her. If tips are shared, she’s the one who truly earned them. **Advice for future guests:** -Reapply sunscreen after every swim — many people didn’t and ended the day painfully sunburned. -Bring aloe vera, extra towels, a waterproof phone pouch, and a portable charger. -In case you get seasick, bring medication with you. I didn’t think I’d need it, but I really wish I had brought it. Incredible value, unforgettable experience, and a crew that truly cares — especially Fotini. 🌅

Really busy Lots of tavernas to choose from. Selling lovely Cretan dishes. Great shops down tiny little streets. Beautiful handmade wares. Stunning scenery in the little streets and across the harbour.. Well worth a day trip. Boat cruises for hire too.

Well worth a visit. I would suggest trying to get there early morning for breakfast and a walk. Late morning it was absolutely heaving with fierce competition for seats in the harbour restaurants. A walk into the harbour and along the outer harbour wall is a great experience set aside at least an hour to do the walk both ways. A number of places advertised real Greek food, but to be honest, the fare on offer was pretty similar in terms of an "intetnational" menu. The exception to this were a few better quality restaurants just on the edge of the main drag.

This place is absolute magic. The history of nearly 5000 years of civilization is on fully display here. The old Venetian port area is beautiful, restaurants are fantastic and the people are very friendly. Will definitely visit again!

Have been there 7 years ago, returned again for good wibes and memories. It's a gemstone of Venetian architecture with a bit of Ottoman influence, some ruination after WWII and flavours of Greek cuisine. Definitely worth a visit and a walk, if you're on the Crete island. Save couple of hours to stroll in the labyrinth of the narrow streets, wonder in the shops, savour some local food! Just enjoy it!

Clear clean water. The lighthouse. Views that one is not tired to make photos enough in any time of day. From land or when you get out with the glass bottom boat. I let here some of my photos. Enjoy..... And go to see by yourself. You will be astonished and happy relaxed all the time you are here.

Chania is an absolute must visit. Beautiful old harbour. Lots of fabulous shops, restaurants, bars. Those around the harbour front are no more expensive than the ones in the maze of streets behind. The streets behind have a great vibe both day and night. Chania is services by a great bus station with buses running into the early morning to outlying areas like Kato Stalis, Agia Marina, Platanias and much further. There is a wonderful fort to visit and the whole area is very safe. I just love it ❤️

We were there September 2025. Beautiful beach, the water is crystal clear. Often it was a red flag because the waves were high, and the wind was strong. The beach - sand, small stones, large stones or boulders the closer you get into the sea. Shallow water would be suitable for families with children but the waves and current can be tricky. There was many people who walk around with scrapes on their arms and legs after a curious approach to water :) There is a lifeguard. Sunbeds can be rented from various restaurants without or with you eating at them. Just a sunbed with a beach umbrella costs 4 €/person.

Wave here is quite strong, the beach is some places more gravely and some place quite sandy, there are bars along the whole beach, quite easy to find a place to have a some drink or food.

A very nice place for my tastes, full of accommodation buildings (villas and hotels) full of facilities and optimal conditions for spending holidays. The golden sand does not give you that blue colour of the sea but the sea is clear, transparent and very suitable for children. A very well organised beach where you can find umbrellas and sunbeds for free if you are a customer in the tavern or with a payment up to 6-8 euros

Beautiful beach, the water is clean and warm. This beach have sunloungers and they can be paid for or you could get food in the restaurant on the beach and then they are “free”. I’d say if you are visiting this beach be careful with people who are selling jewellery. Other than that everything else is great.

Amazing beach with sand that is not so fine that it sticks everywhere. Crystal clear water, beautiful surroundings and restaurants close by. Sand colored fish that swim around your feet, the small ones might bite if you have a wound and stand still, but it's not really hurtful, just surprising. I think they might be doctor fish known from spas.

Manganari Beach in Ios is a secluded paradise ideal for relaxation. Boasting stunning clear waters and soft sand, it offers a tranquil escape from the crowds. However, its remote location (40 minutes from Ios Chora) means limited amenities and scarce sunbeds. Pack essentials like snacks and drinks, and be prepared for a serene beach experience.

Overrated beach. Nothing amazing here for me. It’s only beautiful when you looked on that from high cliffs, or flying on drone. Being here- just regular beach. It’s fine to see it for one time, no more. Cool experience to ride here on ATV from Chora ~40min 20€ for 1 front line beach bed, 15€for others. Too expensive compared to better biches

Possibly the best beach in Greece. Turquoise clear water at 25 C. Calm. View of Santorini. At noon, about 20 people. No seaweed. There are other beautiful beaches on Ios, but this one is relatively protected from the Meltemi winds, which blow most days. Gentle grade - even 50 m from shore you can still touch bottom.

It’s a pretty beach, don’t get me wrong, but not sure it’s worth getting on the 2 hr round trip bus for 8 euros. The ride is cheap but we disliked that there’s only a bus that leaves at noon and gets back at 5pm. Once we got there, we felt it wasn’t worth the long bus ride and windy roads. The water is clear and beautiful, but the sand isn’t that soft and isn’t as described “golden and soft”. The thing that’s cool and if you’re into this, then this is maybe worth it to you: it’s shallow water for a really big distance so you can hang in the water without having to swim. The beach is really remote so you’re limited to eating and drinking at two restaurants, no markets.

Absolutely incredible! It takes about an hour by bus, but trust me, it's totally worth every minute! The water is out of this world, like something straight out of a dream! Just pick a day when the wind is calm because when it picks up, it can be super intense!

Beautiful beach with cristal blue water. The beach is very clean and looks good. We paid 10€ for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella ( in September) There is a bus from Ios port ( around 12 pm) to the beach (leaving at around 5pm) and the trip takes about 1h. There are also 2 small beaches on the right side of this beach at 3-5 ?min walking from here. There is a restaurant where you cand eat.

To say this is a piece of heaven is an understatement. A large sandy beach with the clearest cleanest water for a perfect day. There is a cute restaurant nearby as well to get some shade or eat and drink

You can get there either by boat from the port, or by walking 47 minutes / 3.4 km from the port via the coastal road, or by walking 40 minutes / 2.8 km from the port via the island's internal road. It is the largest beach in Pano Koufonisi and is one of the most beautiful beaches with white sand and emerald green waters. In Pori you won't find anything other than two bar restaurants, so don't forget to bring supplies. It is considered the most beautiful beach of the island. Golden sand and enchanting blue-green waters make up the exotic setting. It has little natural shade and is close to famous natural attractions of the island, such as the caves of Xylobati and the ""Gala Beach"", and when the winds are strong it becomes a favorite track for windsurfers. Be sure to bring umbrellas for protection from the sun.

Honestly the worst beach we visited in Koufounissi maybe because is August but on Monday 4th we found hundreds of people packed on the beach, no respect of decent private space. Water is crystal clear but we do not recommend to come here unless you like to be packed in like sardines. There are many other better beaches to visit here

One of my favourites in Koufonissi. Crystal Clear water and white sand. This one is the largest beach available that you can easily reach with the boat from the port or from the other beaches. The ticket costs 5,00 € and you can use it for the whole day how many times you wish. The boat passes every 30 min. Pay attention to the wind, as the beach is exposed.

Largest beach of the island with everything you might want: Anchoring points, shallow turquoise-blue waters protected from waves, fine sand, tavern. It is also the most crowded one, with the taxi boat continuously pouring people all day. Water clarity and richness is not the best on the island: more for 'beach people' than 'sea people'.

A long beach with Caribbean style waters.

A beautiful place, a paradise nearly undiscovered. There are little beaches near the main "Paralia Pori"; it also has a pretty restaurant/bar, it's the biggest place where you can find shade, because from June to September the Sun during the day is very strong, and sometimes it's very windy. It offers fresh fish every day. For tourists, you can reach this wonderful beach by bus or on your feet, but I suggest the first option, daily ticket costs less than 5€ and you can reach every place on Koufunisia.

Free entrance to this beautiful monument placed just close to the main city. A lot of people during sunset but manageable. It is a amall hike to get to the top, but most should be able to do it.

A beautiful Portara on Naxos, located out on a small rocky islet connected to the mainland by a easy walkable path. Beautiful view looking back at the town and port. I wanted to make it out for sunset, but it was cloudy. A definite must do when in Naxos.

Beautiful site. Best seen during the day if you want to avoid crowds. However, the sunset there is stunning if you’re happy to share the space with a large crowd 👌 the site is free which is great and is literal only a few minutes from the port and a plethora of restaurants and the Venetian castle which is also stunning

Beautiful temple remains, look absolutely stunning lit up at night (and you miss the crowds). Nice manageable steps and path, though it gets a bit slippery in the rain. Great views back into the town as well.

If you’re in Naxos, this is definitely a must-visit. The view from the temple is absolutely mesmerizing—worth every step. The whole visit doesn’t take more than 15 minutes, but the breathtaking scenery makes it unforgettable. Standing there, overlooking the sea, you can almost hear your own heartbeat.

Come here at sunset, like all the other tourists. (If the weather is good.) It's a must see, must do experience. The golden light makes the stone glow. Somewhere in the large crowd on the day of our visit, an unknown disrespectful idiot was flying a drone above the Portara. Please stay home with your drone. And don't pretend to be Hercules and pick up a large stone like someone did recently. The Temple of Apollo may be unfinished except for this Portara, but let it be as it is. Please.

Obviously very crowded during sunset. The views are nice but you can find many more better places on the island to enjoy same views. The temple is surrounded by high and ugly fence which is visible on all pictures. Pity not many descriptions exist or I simply missed them in the crowd.

Such a nice place. We went on a windy day and it wasn’t nice to go for a swim. The views are amazing. There are a lot of caves with long corridors inside- really impressive. The water looks amazing and you can spend 1-2hours just walking around. Free of charge. There is free parking. No easy access for handicapped.

A must go place in Milos. Better visit it in the morning with better sunlight and lesser people. Highly recommended to wear water shoes for easy walking and getting back to shores after swimming. Water is quite cold in October

Went here twice during our weeklong visit to Milos! This place is out of this world — definitely one of my favorite watering holes ever. I’d recommend going for sunrise or sunset to avoid the crowds.

One of Mykonos top landmarks, always full of people so I decided to wake up earlier and be there around 6:15 am for sunrise. You can see the results, not a single person did so and I had a lot of time to change my spots and play with sun. Go there between 6:00 and 6:30 and skip the crowds and boring daily photos with tens of other people. I am not a photographer, I just wanted to try my luck to wake up earlier and every day there were not a single individual. And those mills are simply stunning

I would give this more stars if not for the huge tourist crowds and the ridiculous prices of the restaurants. The souvenirs were also more expensive than other tourist destinations. But the island is indeed beautiful and the scenery is definitely very photogenic. It gets quite loud and festive in the evening. Good for those who love bustling and busy atmosphere with breathtaking views. For those who like quieter places you can always steer away from the shore into the alleyways where there a small hidden gems.

It was interesting to walk from the cruise ship to the windmills and see the beach areas along the way lined with many restaurants overlooking the sea. Walked thru the narrow streets to get a taste of Mykonos. Just in a few spots the walking paths are narrow and border the sea so be careful. Nice place to visit but not necessarily stay for a number of days.

Mykonos Town in general: I had high hopes of Mykonos, old fashioned unspoilt little white-washed buildings, small narrow cobbled streets, lots of shops and restaurants within, very picturesque, small pretty churches dotted about. Nice harbour surrounded by cafes and restaurants, picture postcard stuff. I was not disappointed in that respect, absolutely amazing and pretty. Sadly, though, this is the town’s downfall and a major problem, as it attracts between 2-5 cruise ships a day during the holiday season. (Speaking to various locals, it appears the island more or less closes down out of season, Nov.-Mar., when the cruise ships stop coming). The thousands of cruisers makes the town very busy, people milling about trying to navigate the small alleyways and streets, and it can get very hot and oppressive. Mykonos has a reputation for being relatively expensive – make up your own mind. The whole town is geared to the cruise ship tourists and maximising their profits, charging stupid money for what is essentially typical holiday nicknack tat. The ‘supermarkets’ (read corner shops) only seem to sell booze, tobacco, toiletries, and crisps – nothing useful to sustain yourself if you were self-catering (there must be something somewhere on the island where you can buy meat and veg etc. but it’ll require a car or taxi as there’s nothing in the capital). Cheap nasty looking bottle of wine? Starts at around € 18.50; anything recognisable is € 30-50. The restaurant prices don’t seem too bad (is that because the cruise lot don’t eat there?), about what you’d expect to pay anywhere else, but where they do get you is on the booze, c. € 10-15 a pint. They typically only sell 33cl bottled beer at € 7-10. Some restaurants are asking € 80-90 for a bottle of wine. Your liver will enjoy this holiday. Another unusual influence is, I would estimate 90% of the restaurants more or less offer the same thing, listing themselves as Greek/Mediterranean/European – basically, Greek. The other restaurants call themselves Italian/Mediterranean/European, a nod to Italian, plus there are literally a couple of hints at Japanese. There is an Indian and a Mexican, half a mile outside the town up the big hill. I was disappointed by the lack of variety. Chinese/Thai? Forget it. I’m not sure I’ve been to any place in Europe that doesn’t have a number of Chinese restaurants. I was told that there are only 30 taxis on the island. They are not short of business. I wanted to book a trip to and from the Indian restaurant 10 mins away. I was told that there was no point trying to book a taxis as there was no guarantee they would turn up. So I booked a private hire to ensure we honoured the restaurant booking, € 72, kerching. I do not think I was being deliberately ripped off. I guess you cannot blame the locals for trying to make a good living, particularly, as in theory they only have 7 months in which to do so, but it’s very sad that such a lovely place – like so many around the world - has been ruined by tourism (driven by greed) and lost most of its authenticity.

Watched the sunset on October 1st. Beautiful view! Got there about 30 minutes before the sunset and was able to grab a great spot on a bench. Lots of people gathered after us to watch the sunset here but there are plenty of spots to sit or stand near the windmills and below them.

Visted in mid October, the weather was great. It was interesting to see the difference between the renovated windmills, and those being worked on.

Great views, plenty to see and do. If you are taking a cruise it’s a bit of a walk but very doable. There’s a lot to do throughout the walk. Plenty of stores and restaurants along the path.

The trip was about an hour and a half from where i'm staying.But after you get out of the hustle and bustle, the trip was awesome. A lot of places you could pull over and take pictures or just pull over and go down to the shore. The temple itself was twenty euros, which seemed kind of high.But I did have a good time and got plenty of pictures.

The temple is beautiful, but the tickets are a little expensive for how much time you can actually spend here. This is definitely one of the best places you can watch the sunset from, though. We went on a semi-cloudy day, and even then the sunset was stunning. There is also a cafe that is nice to take some time to relax at, since if you're staying in Athens it is a bit of a drive.

A beautiful place in itself, but the unjustifiably high price of €20 made us turn back and take a free walk in another part of the peninsula, where the views were just as breathtaking. Is the price of watching the sunset — even next to such a stunning temple — really comparable to the entrance fee for Mycenae, Corinth, or Epidaurus, where, in addition to the ruins, you also visit a museum and get a wealth of information? A highly promoted tourist spot — deservedly so for its amazing views, but not for its price.

This place is just magical during sunset.🌄 It was actually raining when we got there and just before the sunset at 18:30, the weather turned. There was also a beautiful rainbow🌈 Don't buy tickets in advance due to weather conditions, so just buy on the spot.

Visiting the Temple of Poseidon was an unforgettable experience. The temple itself is truly majestic, standing tall for more than 2,000 to 3,000 years and offering a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Greek history. The surrounding sea views are breathtaking, and when combined with the temple’s presence, it feels almost magical. The highlight of the visit was without doubt the sunset. It is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, with the colors reflecting over the Aegean Sea and the temple glowing in the evening light. The road leading to the temple was also a wonderful part of the journey, with scenic views all along the way. A must-visit when in Greece! 🌅🏛️

The temple on the edge of the sea is a magnificent view. It's definitely worth it to visit. It's not so hard to get to there from Athens with the public transport. You can take the bus to Sunion which cost only 6.20 euros in direction. We took it from the Singrou-fix at around 11 o'clock. The trip to there takes around two hours and the road is very beautiful by the sea. The entrance ticket is 20 euros. There is coffee/restaurant there. The bus will drop you off right to the entrance of the temple.

It's a beautiful temple, which I highly recommend visiting to learn about its historical significance. It's one of the three temples in the "Sacred Triangle." Admission is 10 euros and also gives you access to the museum.

Beautifully maintained Temple of the Goddess Aphaia, a mysterious figure local to Aegina and sometimes Crete. Pausanias (2nd c. CE) records that the Aeginetans called Britomartis “Aphaia. The Temple is really well-preserved and maintained. Admission is 10 Euro. Go early in the morning to avoid the buses and crowds. Taxis do go up here.

I like to call this island pistachio island. Everywhere you go including the beautiful temple of Aphaia are pistachios. Beautiful views and I would love to go here in the evening to take in the view of Athens. Amazing views.

A must-see if you’re visiting Aegina! The Temple of Aphaia is beautifully preserved and stands on a hill with an absolutely stunning view over the sea and even the mainland on a clear day. It’s quiet, peaceful, and feels very authentic compared to the crowded sites in Athens. Totally worth the 20-minute ride from the main port — it gives a real sense of ancient Greece. And after your visit, don’t miss grabbing a pistachio ice cream from the little shop right next to the site — Aegina’s specialty and the perfect way to end the visit!

It was okay. Maybe a lot better if we didn't walk a mile straight up to get there. Ruins with a small tourist store. Interesting information tables throughout. Lots of cats roaming around begging for food. Cost $10 euros to explore site. Very nice view from the top. Several tour busses were visiting at the same time as we were there.

It wasn’t that easy to get here - the ferry and then the taxi. But it’s worth it because of its more than 2.5K history and no need to jostle with other tourists. We got all the photos we wanted. The cats were very friendly once they knew we had cat food

It is a beautiful ancient temple well preserved. I don't know about the entrance cost because EU citizens under 25 have free entrance upon showing their ID. Highly recommend

A great stop if you are exploring Athens. The building is modern with huge windows and a clear view of the Acropolis itself. Inside, you will find ancient sculptures, pottery, and a cool glass floor that shows ruins underneath. The top floor has the Parthenon pieces laid out like they were originally placed at scale, and the cafe has a solid view. Easy to enjoy even if you are not a history buff.

We were initially unsure whether to visit the Acropolis Museum, as some reviews claimed it wasn’t worth it. However, we decided to go anyway — and we’re really glad we did. The entrance fee was €20 (current price as of autumn 2025). We went around 6 PM and it was almost empty, with no lines at all. The museum was open until 8 PM, so we had plenty of time to walk around and explore. The museum itself is beautiful. It features an impressive collection of artifacts found on the slopes of the Acropolis, as well as everyday objects from different periods of Athenian history. There are also many statues, architectural fragments from temples, and other fascinating pieces. On top of that, the museum offers lovely views of the Acropolis and the surrounding area. We later found out that there is an audio guide available — just look for the QR code inside the museum. We wish we had noticed it earlier! Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit. We had a great experience.

One of my favorite museum experiences worldwide! Bernard Tschumi’s masterpiece covers Athens historical layers by physically reconstructing them through five different levels. The context and the place in the city are omnipresent and shine through the building. The museum is generously laid out and there’s hardly any waiting times. The flows through the exhibits work smoothly and although there are huge numbers of visitors there is never any feeling of crowding. Full points for this jewel!

Be prepared to be amazed by history where myth and reality are hard to distinguish. Modern, spacious, with a lot of light, this is a big museum, be prepared to spend ~4h if you wanna see everything. I advise people to bring headphones to listen to the audio they offer. Be careful, any backpacks have to be stored in a locker room. And check their cafe, it has a wonderful view! Their shop has a variety of books in several languages.

A very well-thought-out and well-organized museum with beautiful unique exhibits. It uses modern technology in a great way to bring the glory and power of ancient Greece to life. The museum also has a nice café with good service and a view of the Acropolis — not the very best view, as you can see from the photos, but still lovely. Definitely worth a visit!

It's incredible to visually learn about the history of the place and the people - the ART!!! The museum is beautiful and in the evening hours it's lit up and you can see the Acropolis and Parthenon on the hill out the windows and from the large outdoor patio. I spent three hours (with the free audio guide)!

One of the best museums I've visited so far (and I have seen a lot in my 45 years of age). Must see if you visit Acropolis site, only then you will get full picture of this amazing preserved archeological foundings. Unseparable.

A must see if visiting Athens. Its uneven surfaces for parts of it so walking boots are recommended. The Parthenon is very impressive and the View of Athens from the tip shows how big Athens is. Worth getting a guided tour to learn the history of the site.

We've been there at the end of October, which is is probably the best time of the year. Weather is usually still sunny, while at the same time its not too hot. And the Acropolis is not overcrowded even tho you will meet lots of ppl. Keep in mind this is one of the worlds most visited must-see hotspots. You have to book a time slot in advance when you buy the tickets. If your kids are EU citizens and under 18y old, they do not have to pay the current 30 EUR entrance fee! They get free entrance, but passports/IDs are required to proof your citizenship. You can not book these free kids tickets in advance online. So you will have to line up at the two ticket offices. Once at the office you usually wont get instant access. So plan for another 2-3 hours waiting time ahead. We went to the acropolis museum (extra 20 € pp, kids free). Try to visit the museum before you actually visit the Acropolis as you will learn a lot. Once you are on the top you will understand why this place is so special. View is spectecular and you will notice how massive the buildings must have been. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning!!! You have to pay to get up there, but it is worth it. Incredible views of Athens and observing the scale of these structures blew my mind.

The Parthenon at the Acropolis completed our Athens trip!!! Amazingly beautiful with breathtaking views of the city. The walk up to the top is a bit tiring but it you have a disability card they will let you use the elevator at the North entrance. It’s worth the visit!

The Acropolis/Parthenon experience was nice. The climb up wasn’t so bad (just kind slippery floors and wear shoes with good grip). We bought tickets a day prior for the 6pm slot and were allowed in at 5.45pm. The good: Overall a pretty place. As a history buff, it was a special experience to be standing at a place where so much history was made. Got some nice photos of the structures against the evening sun. There were shaded spots here and there for some respite from the sun. The bad: The €30 ticket price. It isn’t justified given that there are a lot of works actively being done inside. There were a lot of scaffolding and machinery around. The structures were also cordoned off. You just feel like a visitor going through the area and snapping pictures instead of feeling like you’re really experiencing what it must have been like to be up at the Acropolis back then. Some may be okay with this, but I just feel a €20 ticket would make more sense.

Magnificent Greek architecture! The uphill walk with marble stairs was worth it. It’s best to arrive before opening time to avoid the crowds. We were in awe of the ruins, and the view of Athens was incredible.

Simply amazing! As impressive as a wonder of the world. Climbing those marble stairs really makes you understand the grandiosity of this civilization. To add the cherry on top, finally there are no scaffoldings. I would recommend going at the last entry time for the golden hour experience. I also recommend climbing any of the neighboring hills to see the Acropolis from an incredible perspective.

Visiting the Acropolis was honestly one of the highlights of my trip to Athens. No matter how many pictures you’ve seen, nothing really prepares you for standing up there in person. The view over the city is incredible — you can see the whole of Athens stretching out below, with the sea glimmering in the distance. I went early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds, and that was definitely the right move. Climbing up is not too hard, but wear comfy shoes and bring water — the stones can be slippery. Once you reach the top, the Parthenon and the other ancient temples feel almost unreal. You can actually feel the history around you, it’s crazy to think how long these structures have been standing. The atmosphere is peaceful, especially if you take a moment to just sit and look around. The Acropolis Museum nearby is also worth a visit — it’s modern, cool, and helps you understand what you’re seeing up there. Overall, it’s an absolute must-see in Athens. Go early, take your time, and enjoy the view — it’s one of those experiences that truly stays with you. 🇬🇷✨

What can I say? One of the most iconic archaeological sites in the entire world. An absolute must visit,come early at 8am either with a guided tour or with pre book tickets because it gets very busy as you'd expect. We visited in late October,it was 24c which was perfect weather. Our visit was with a guide from Viator. I will visit again just so I can explore the slopes which we didn't have the chance too.

You know the feeling when you feel that you are in a special place, where something important for the human race happened there, that's the feeling here! A place that I saw so many times in the books, finally in front of me. Different kind of emotion, amazed by what people could build with such different instruments from the one we have now with the progress of the technology.

The entrance fee is €30, and you can buy tickets online (highly recommended to avoid queues). It’s best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds. I bought my ticket for 11 a.m. because earlier slots were sold out, and walking around while constantly dodging people wasn’t the best experience. Still, the place is absolutely incredible — no matter how many photos you’ve seen before, it never stops amazing you. Definitely worth the visit.

A phenomenal experience that you simply have to live through. We had tickets in advance online, and at the entrance we waited about 5 minutes. There was a crowd, but it was still pleasant. Bring water—the walk is naturally tiring and steep, and at the top the sun really beats. Enjoy the view of the vast city of Athens from above, as well as the history and the remains that are indescribable to see, knowing that someone lived there so long ago, and just like this. Fascinating! Remains from the earliest settlements, as well as from the later sanctuary, offer countless things to see and enjoy.

How do you rate this any less than five stars? So much history and beauty in one place. I have mobility issues and thank goodness the elevator was working!! Scary ride up, but so worth it!! The entire time we were there, we felt speechless! Absolutely awe inspiring!!

I couldn't believe it but this place is over 2500 years old and it's still standing. The idea that it was built on this tall hill made it even more awesome. The history was interesting too. I learned the Athenians were welcomed inside whenever enemies were approaching. We had an excellent tour leader, too.

Very easy access to the beach, excellent beach bar, plenty of space for those who don’t want to pay for sunbeds. The only thing that bothered me was that two boats arrived, bringing a lot of people to see the beach, but they left quickly afterward. Everything else is beautiful

Very beautiful beach and breathtaking scenery. Moreover its pretty close to another beach called “Μηλιά» and you can go there through a pathway if you are brave enough:)

A beautiful beach made very famous by a movie. The waters are caribbean-style blue, crystal clear and the coastline is long enough for many swimmers. There is a beach bar nearby where sunbeds are available, although I did not visit it. The beach is reachable by car and on foot.

Nice beach with beach umbrellas and sunbed (you have to pay, of course). For the ones who are not interested in them, remember there is not plenty of room for free: go before 10 o'clock and you will find it. The sea was rough but the waters were still colourful. Very nice landscape, indeed. One of the best beaches we have seen in Skopelos.

I didn’t pay for a sunbed, but they cost €14. There’s plenty of space to lay your beach towel and soak up the sun. The beach bar also has a toilet.

Beautiful beach, crystal clear water. Would highly recommend. The taverna on the beach is a very nice place to relax. Amazing views from the beach across the islands.

Beautiful although quite full beach with lots of memories from the Mamma mia movie. You can actually hike your way to Milia beach, which is also very nice and quite bigger. The views from the narrow path full of thorns are breathtaking! The path from the bus stop is a bit steep and about 10-15 minutes

The beach itself is beautiful, with clear water and stunning views, no complaints there. But the overall experience left a lot to be desired. When we arrived around 9:15, we were surprised to find that the earlier you come, the worse your seating options are. The first three rows of chairs, closest to the water, are empty but reserved, so you're pushed to the back if you come early. Strangely, people who showed up later got better spots. The staff managing the seating near the beach bar were a bit rude and didn’t make the situation any better. On top of that, there’s a large diesel generator powering the beach bar. It’s loud, and they try to drown it out with even louder music, which just creates more noise instead of a relaxing atmosphere. The chairs and umbrellas are packed tightly together, giving you little space to move or feel comfortable. The sand wasn’t clean, and the chairs looked old and a bit grimy. The sea and natural surroundings are lovely, but the poor setup and unfriendly service really took away from the experience. I wouldn’t go back.

One of the best beaches I’ve ever been to! It feels like a little bay, with crystal-clear water. The road turns into a dirt road after a certain point, but it’s totally worth it! Highly recommended!

The beach itself is very beautiful, crystal clear water, amazing view on Mouth Atos. BUT! Beach is very crowded. There is a busy beach bar with a very loud music, there is impossible to find a spot on the beach. Around the place are people camping. Very crowded place, if you go there, in the off season.

Beautiful natural stones beach. A bit ‘ruined’ by the near-by bar with loud music, occupying all the sand… but even so, it’s a very beautiful place 🤩

Beautiful but overcrowded. There are other beautiful beaches around that seem to attract fewer visitors so I'd suggest looking for those!

Beautiful beach but crowded. In the first day we arrived ar around 12:00 so we didn’t find any free sun beds. We made a resevation for the next day, for 10:00. The beach is nice with turcoise waters, but it is very small and too crowded. I wouldn’t recommend if you want to chill at the beach. The sunbeds are free but you need to order from the bar.

We visited in August. The sea is amazing and the beach is beautiful, but it’s very small, overcrowded, and rocky. Most of the sandy area is taken up by a bar with sunbeds, where you’re forced to buy something in order to use them. Be especially careful with “Paradise Kavourotripes Bar”. We ended up there first by mistake and found a tiny beach completely filled with sunbeds. They required everyone to order their drinks and food, which was ok for us but when we explained that we already had food for our kids, they told us it was strictly forbidden to bring any of your own. Their attitude was quite aggressive, so we left and went to the official Kavourotripes free beach instead. There we could still buy drinks if we wanted, but without being pressured to rent sunbeds. Overall, I don’t appreciate being forced to spend money just to enjoy a beach.
