Beautiful park, some areas could need a little touch-up / love, but we absolutely loved it. There is something for everyone. I especially adored all the attention to details. A dog bowl in Lego etc. Halloween isn’t really a thing where we’re from, so we were surprised to see the whole park decorated. (Since we forgot that we were going in the week of Halloween) It was a pleasant surprise and made the whole experience feel magical. The prices change when pre ordering tickets depending on date, it was wise to order them with a discount online, the day before we went.

We just visited during the autumn holiday and had an absolute blast on the rides! The atmosphere was great, and we treated ourselves to some delicious churros too 👀 I was also there in summer and had such a fun time - especially on the water-themed rides like the canoe and the pirate boat 💦 Always a great day out! Even during holidays the lines aren’t bad - the longest we waited was about 20 mins. Highly recommended for kids! ✨️

A fantastic place for kids and families! The park is cozy, creative, and full of fun details everywhere you look. I recommend going on a day when it’s less crowded – it makes the experience so much better (we loved being able to walk straight through the queues without waiting). The attractions are varied and suit all ages, from the smallest rides to the bigger roller coasters, and of course the incredible LEGO builds all around the park. It really feels like stepping into another world. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Denmark, and I’d recommend buying your tickets in advance to save time at the entrance.

This place is so fun my 3 children had a blast. They have many rides that even my 1 year old can go on, providing that we held her in our lap or sat next to her. The rides are diverse, the line ups were not too long. All in all a fantastic experience. Only criticism would be we should have had 2 full days to see everything, it's a lot if you only have 1 day.

We visited in September, and Legoland was a bit of a disappointment. It’s the oldest Legoland, and you can tell - everything looks a bit faded, there’s some cobwebs here and there, and it’s not very clean overall. Inside there’s a great big LEGO store, but the prices are higher than in the Netherlands. It only really makes sense to buy the limited editions - though, to be honest, they’re not particularly exciting either. Overall, if you’re traveling from another country just for Legoland, it might be worth considering other destinations. But don’t forget - there’s also the LEGO House in Billund, and that place is really great.

Fun for a whole day for both small kiddos and adults. Plenty of spaces to sit down and eat the lunch you bring (and you should bring one, because food in the park is expensive). The Atlantis sea world part was very cool with live fish aquariums to look at. We were there on a Friday in October on a mostly cloudy day and it was the perfect amount of people - we only had to queue for the biggest thrill rides and even then only 15min. All other attractions was max 5 minutes wait, so we could even do all rides multiple times if we wanted to. Pay for parking in advance for smoother experience.

Visiting LEGO in Billund is a truly unique experience for both kids and adults who love LEGO bricks. Over all the location is good , pool is good a lot of choices of slides and kids splash pools . But there’s a lot down side too , first day arrived looking good and our room facing greenery side , second day morning suddenly a big crane outside doing the digging and piles of mountains size completely blocked out the view . Literally is a last week return to school time why can’t you guys start doing the construction work after???Basically can’t open up window when is steaming hot inside , as all the dust blow right in and my kids couldn’t play freely outside too . onside shop is decent but I dislike the bakery area where they do this plastic hand glove for every use to just pick up pastries, unnecessary plastic use for environmental honestly . Electricity and water have to pay saperately this is very shocking to me , literally first time experiencing this , on top of that there’s unnecessary clean up charges too,upon arriving I just want to relax but needed to put bedding linen myself and then upon check out have to clean up the sheets again and also unload the dish washer after then only you can check out. Throw every last trash . Or else I don’t even know what are they gonna charge me on??? Vacuum the floor too? Brush toilet too? Very shocking and basically I still need cleaning and not relaxing everyday.

A great place for a family getaway with plenty of fun activities for the kids! The overall experience was enjoyable, and having LEGOLAND within walking distance is a huge bonus. However, the indoor areas, especially the aquarium, felt extremely crowded. It would be better if access was limited to Lalandia guests only, as the high number of outside visitors made it a bit overwhelming at times. Still, a fantastic spot for families looking to make lasting memories!

We arrived from Copenhagen via train to Vejle and bus to Billund - the whole journey was around 3 hours. The check in was very easy as we got sent a code to check straight into our lodge which was very easy to find for our 3 night stay. We recommend you get the golden wrist bands as we definitely got our monies worth from it. Lastly, the facilities are fantastic! Our children were asking when we would be back on the bus back home as they loved it!

Lalandia was a great place to have vacation with kids. But when I lost my bag the same dag, the service desk couldnt really help me much that day. And now still this time I have not found my bag with my gold and cash and bank kard and also my driver licenses.

We spent five nights at Lalandia in the summer and, for the most part, had a great time: the Aquadome was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed doing lots of the activities on offer. The surrounding playground, obstacle course, and two 5-a-side football pitches (with artificial turf) also ensured that we had plenty to do outdoors. Being able to walk over to Legoland and spend the day there was also a highlight. The on-site shop also had a good selection of products and reasonable opening times. The staff there and around the Lalandia resort were approachable and friendly. Sadly, hygiene is an issue (apart from the Aquadome, which I found to be very clean in the male changing rooms). For instance, dustballs were visible around the minigolf course and, according to our friends, the indoor playground too. Also, the communal bowling shoes were not sprayed after each use, which is minging given that people were wearing them with bare feet. The actual accommodation was disappointing. The beds were horrendous with soft, manky old mattresses with signs of bed bugs (I slept on the small sofa for 5 nights). It's beyond my comprehension why the mattresses aren't in protective covers. There were no insect screens on the windows despite a Lalandia leaflet informing guests that mosquitoes are normal there. The TV was dated, so it wasn't possible to mirror my phone to watch a film in the evening. In short, we loved our days there and had a lot of fun. If it weren't for the grubby, uncomfortable mattresses, I would have already booked again for next year without a doubt – maybe even for the March and the summer. As it stands, I'll look for alternatives.

We stayed in a little Lalandia house which was well equipped and clean, loved the Aquadome and spent more time there than we did at Legoland which was why we'd come to Billund in the first place. Loads to do in Lalandia and really close to Legoland, great for children.

Love this place, what a great experience. Everything has been absolutely perfect, from the house to the Waterpark. Super fun Waterpark a lot of waterside and different things to activate the kids with. Even as an adult you will love this place. There's a big indoor miniature golf, bowling, kids area and a lot of things to do. The houses are really nice and well equipped, beds are comfortable and everything is just what you need and want. I will definitely comeback here but next time we will stay longer so that we can do everything included.

Give yourself at least 60-90 minutes to take it in. See the church in the back, we were lucky to hear the organist playing. Many families here with hands on activities. Take a while to explore and read the markers for explanations. Good gift shop too.

Great for a day trip! The museum was very interactive and easy to understand, but not boring or too simple. The staff also was very friendly and helpful. They had information material in Dutch, German and English ready so we also had no language barrier. The exhibition was both in Dutch and English. The gift shop also had a variety of nice goodies

There is a big hill next to a church that you should and can't ignore when you are visiting there. It's a good relaxing sight but the only way to get up on the top of the hill is by walking on the staircase next to the church. There is no flat road, so if you are a bad walker you may want to think twice if you want to go upstairs. There is no bench or sitting place on top of hill. There are some big runic stones Infront of the church you can inspect or Walking over the peaceful graveyard.

Must visit place to witness christening of Denmark. We came after closing hours of nearby museum but still a lot of to see in the open air part (including the stones with runes)

So culturally this is a very important site for Denmark, really marking the start of the country from both geographic and political position. But it's not exactly exciting.

For history buffs, you are looking at the runes that established Denmark as a country. The historic church (kirke) is typical of the many that dot the landscape of Denmark.

The science museum is free to enter and you could certainly have a great time in here. The museum seems to be more targeted for a younger audience than for adults who aren't parents. Parents will probably have a good time here with their childrens. I have not seen all of it and left early as I felt like it wasn't meant for me but for kids. Therefore I gave a 3 / medium rating as I didn't saw everything. The place is wheelchair accessible and bad walkers, their is an elevator for those who needs it too. There are several staircases throughout the building and rooms each with their own display. Some rooms are harder to access for wheelchairs users. Make sure to visit this place if you have children or early teen with you!

This wonderful centre was a surprise gem that we came across during our stopover in Vejle. It's a really thought provoking experience done in a entertaining way as you explore the different zones. I'm so glad we went and the staff were super kind and helpful.

The main building has a souvenir area, AQUA and outside there are several animals and a massive playground. The Aqua building is a bit of a let down if you don't speak danish. Most of the floors are only in the danish language. The outside has like 19 different animals and every hour some of the animals are fed by the zookeeper's. They are also telling more about the backstory of the animal. The entire park is accessible by a wheelchair but the only thing you may want to keep in mind that the sand walking path can be soft at times beEventually you will come across a big water playground for the kids and I'm talking around the size of one animal place, which makes This place amazing for kids if they have swimming clothes. One thing I don't understand is why the snacks and the ice cream shop is only open on the weekend. They are missing out on a lot of money by having the shops closed because of the kids and the big playground. Most families have 2+ kids. They have free WIFI. I have seen everything in 3 hours but it may be possible for you to do less making it debatable if the entry price seems fair or a bit too expensive (especially if you don't understand the danish language in the AQUA)

It is not that big but the water play is very amazing. They called it a aquarium zoo but not much fish nor not much animal Instead the design for water plan is very nice, based on the environment of the beaver, which is the animal you see. Go on a sunny day if you have children — then it’s probably a 5-star place to be. Most of the park is outdoors, and they have a big playground, which is fantastic for kids. Everything is based around water mechanics, so bring some swimwear! Why it was a 3-star place for us: we don’t have children (yet), so we came for the animals and to learn something. In the aquarium, as a foreigner, you’ll need a good internet connection for Google Translate because everything is in Danish… The upper floor looked educational, but I had no idea what it was trying to tell me. I found one monitor that could switch to English, but it failed to load. Outside, there is some English on the signs, which helped a bit. The otter exhibit is so overgrown with vegetation that, with a bit of luck, we saw one — but it ran away immediately. The beaver exhibit was the best part! One of the beavers was swimming while the others, including a few babies, were sleeping — it looked really cozy! All the animals are native to Denmark, so don’t expect any fancy, bright-colored fish. There’s a small parking lot in front of the aquarium. You’ll need some luck to find a spot there.

This place is a hidden gem, especially for anyone interested in local Danish nature. The focus on fauna from the Gudenåen area is both educational and fascinating, and the otters, racoons and beavers are so cute. You can watch the otters being fed and hear how they get there. They also do rescue work and take care of otters needing help. The staff are friendly and welcoming. While the aquarium seems to cater mainly to families with young children, it’s just as enjoyable for adults visiting solo. The eel exhibit, in particular, is both intriguing and a little eerie, making it a standout experience. The location itself is stunning, set in a beautiful area perfect for a peaceful walk by the lakes and river afterward. It's well worth a visit!

Exhibit for the fish is a bit limited but combined with garden outside makes it worth coming here with children. Also there is a good walking trail along side the lake. Café Dråben is where its extremely disappointing. I dont think the fault is with the teenage girls doing the cooking but rather the ingredients and how the girls were taught to prepare food. One of the worst salads i ate in my life.

Amazing experience! Instead of going and seeing the standard 'zoo setup', use the experience to see what cute creatures and other animals are living in the forests, rivers here in Europe. Easy to get there, by car or train (I travelled from Aarhus by train). Tickets cost cheaper if bought online and I suggest visiting the centre in morning, around 10:00 then the animals haven't had their breakfast yet and are more active and visible. Timewise - and hour is enough, in case you are in rush, if not, then you can enjoy the park for longer time, there was a space dedicated for children and areas where you can sit down and rest for a while, if needed. Recommend!

This prison museum was incredibly interesting and left a deep impression. I found every section engaging, with new and informative displays around each corner. The basement was the most impactful part for me — especially the photo of a former prisoner, which really stayed with me. Most of the written information is available in English, making it easy to follow along. However, the films are all in Danish, so keep that in mind if you don’t speak the language. Overall, a powerful and well-designed museum that I definitely recommend visiting.

It was okay but we had smaller children and it was not very interesting for them. The biker gang stuff, the contraband search game and the escape tunnel were good though and I would still recommend it if people have the time.

Faengslet as an event site has potential but it is cold everywhere. The atmosphere is authentic but low-key. We had a great event!

A nice stay. Extra plus for the good beds and superb bed lining. On the downside it smelled of mold in the sleeping area. The museum was a treat and the whole family enjoyed it.

Museum Jorn is a quiet and small museum. It can be an enjoyable stop for those interested in Asger Jorn’s style. Some of the works are quite interesting and unique, and overall, the museum has a different kind of atmosphere. If you have time in Silkeborg, it’s worth a visit.

We had a great time. The fact that there was such a variety of exhibits and almost everything was very hands-on really kept our kids' attention. We ended up staying for almost 4 hours. There was room to have a packed lunch - indoors, too, which was particularly useful on the day of our visit. Free parking right next door was also great.

Nice area near Horsens harbor and marinara showcasing factory machines from the early 1900s, workers living areas, textile industry, printing presses, shoe making, Nimbus motorbikes and an old bank. Ice cream, free parking, picnic areas and toilets available.

wow the coolest place ever, they have steamengines, diesel, generators, press machines, even stone press in action, phone history, radio and tv history, schools , workshops, and a nimbus section too, all people you meet there are super friendly and love to talk and show you stuff, much much recommended, kids under 18 are free

Simple and easy trek. Signs are posted along the way, so zero chance of getting lost. Ry is the closest station with connecting inter-city metro/tram/bus. But the frequency is not so good, so plan your trek well. The view from the top of Himmel Mountain is beautiful.

A must visit if you're in Viborg. They have two crypts underground which you shouldn't miss. The art work is quite lovely but the highlights of the place are the beautiful lamps. The giant candelabra is beautiful as well

Beautiful place. Doesn't have much less than Notre Dame in Paris. The icon of Viborg, one the oldest towns in Denmark. It's nice that they let you climb the towers. There's a 10 Dkk fee to enter, I would prefer not to pay entry for sacred and holy places.

Really pleasantly surprised with how fun this museum was. I took my two kids, who are 9 & 11 and they absolutely loved it there! There are so many activities that you don’t have time to get bored. Very interactive and educative. It costs 110dkk to get in but for 130dkk you can get a season pass, so it was a no brainer! Already looking forward to going back as we didn’t have time to try everything after our 4 hour visit!

Great place to visit with kids. Lots of stuff to see and try. They have a tesla coil which is a must see. Also there are a 1920s, 1930s and 1950s house for you to explore.

A good place to go and check out especially if you have a family with small children. Lots of activities, small petting zoo, plus a relatively big map of the world where children can play but also learn the different countries, where they are situated and how their flag looks. They also have a BBQ area, where you can use one of their gas grills and cook your own food. they also have a small restaurant in case you get hungry and need a quick snack

Fascinating history and cute animals Very fascinating piece of history from the 1940’s where an ordinary man took rocks found in the peasants farms and made them into the world map by the rocks likeness to real countries!

A visually stunning musician with an already huge reputation for arts and culture. One of my favourite nutrients of the year! This lives up to every expectation set; accessible, huge, interactive, fun for kids, insightful, visually stunning and such an education. The Celtic exhibition was really special, and the attention to detail was incredible. The thought that has gone into these exhibitions means it's somewhere I will always come back to when I visit the area. I've read about the performances also outside which look incredible too.

To see each and every part of museum, you need at least 4hr max more then that. Really a awesome place to visit at weekend. Entire museum goes like a movie, each and every place you can find explanation.

What a wonderful museum! Great display of Viking as well as middle ages relics. Nice life-size diorama. Very good films. Everything with English text and/or English audio. Nice experimental things for kids to playfully learn with. The building itself is a work of art. The tour I took, in German, about the life of the Vikings was so-so to useless (if you have watched Vikings or Valhalla, then you don't need to take the tour (not worth the money... it costs extra).

I visited Moesgaard Museum on a weekday, and it was absolutely fantastic. You can easily spend many hours here, both indoors and outdoors. The surrounding nature is stunning, and the museum itself is a true gem for anyone interested in history and architecture. A highly recommended place to visit – I would gladly return🤩

Super interesting museum, huge place with lots of different depictions and quite a bit of story behind every corner of it. Would recommend dedicating a full day to it as there is a lot to see. The Grauballe Man, which is a bog body older than 2000 years, is really a special thing to see.

Absolutely worth visiting — one of the best museums I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to many). You can’t get the real feeling just by looking at pictures; you need to hear, touch, and explore here. I agree that it might not be the best choice for small children, but with enough time, parents can still make it interesting for them. Plan for at least five hours (or more), and it’s a good idea to take a few breaks — or even split your visit over a couple of days. It would be great if there were a playground, like in IKEA, where parents could leave their kids for a couple of hours. I don’t expect to find German or other translations in every museum, so I’m very grateful that everything here is translated into English. Thank you for the great work! We’ll definitely come again, and I’ll be recommending this museum to my friends.

Absolutely amazing place! It really is like you are back in time. It was so interesting walking around fully immersed in the past. You could maybe spend all day here if you really took your time. My favourite thing in Aarhus and possibly the best musuem I’ve been to!

A wonderful step back in times past, representing many eras, cultures and historic events. Great for the family and history buffs. This spacious recreation is thoughtfully laid out walking through the Vikings to 1970s in the form of Main Street, museum of artifacts, village recreations and country estate with authentic trade shops. Historic coffee and bakery from the 1800s was inviting and delicious. Preteens may not appreciate the historical context of Aarhus, said to be the first civilized port of the Viking era. Well maintained and mostly accessible. Loved our visit

The absolutely beautiful museum took me back in time. I loved the 1970s themed arrangements the most. We had the perfect opportunity to visit during the K7 week too. Watch out for the ducks, they chase you!

Our first stop this morning was to The Old Town Museum (known as Den Gamle By). It is a museum that allows visitors to have a feel of the architecture and culture of the different eras – particularly the years 2014, 1974, 1927 and 1864. Even the streets have been remodelled accordingly with the cobbled streets belonging to an older era and smoother streets to the more modern era. You will see that the entire Old Town museum in Aarhus is immersive in that you can enter different buildings and learn about the history of that particular building. Den Gamle By is a very cool experience. We spent over 6 hours exploring all of the homes, businesses and gardens that have been recreated/ reconstructed. Good variety of food and drink options as you make your way through. Quite a lot of interactions set up in many of the exhibits, and the rotary phones you can use to call businesses in the town are such a fun idea.

Stepping into Aarhus Old Town is like time travel! You'll love wandering its charming cobblestone streets, admiring the beautifully preserved old buildings. It's truly an open-air museum, brimming with Danish history and a delightful, authentic atmosphere. Don't miss this captivating journey back in time!

We visited Aarhus for the day while on a cruise, and the Botanical Gardens and Tropical Houses quickly became one of my absolute favourite stops. Nestled right in the city, this beautiful green space offers a peaceful escape and a surprising amount to explore—all for free, which I really appreciated! The gardens themselves are lovely to stroll through, showcasing native Danish plants and thoughtfully designed landscapes. But the real highlight for me was the Tropical Houses. The glass domes are like stepping into a different world—lush, warm, and full of life. Inside, you’re surrounded by towering palms, vibrant flowers, waterfalls, and even butterflies fluttering freely through the air. As a houseplant lover, I was blown away by the size and health of many familiar plants I grow at home—jade plants, umbrella plants, bird of paradise, banana plants, philodendrons, and so many more. They looked like they were on steroids compared to my little potted versions! It was amazing to see them in this thriving, naturalistic environment. Whether you’re into plants, photography, or just want a relaxing place to explore, this spot is a must-visit in Aarhus. It’s a perfect mix of nature, education, and tranquility, right in the middle of the city. Don’t miss this gem—especially if you’re visiting Aarhus on a short stop like we were. Very nice Botanical Garden mid of Aarhus, Free entry a good cafe and greenhouse,amazing plants from around to world , they are divided into small and large groups and telling what and where they are from . Staffs are very friendly and helpful. For sure you will be very happy to visit here and see all these amazing garden .

It's good to visit this botanical garden once, but you don't have to. This place seems to be one of the places loved by locals. It is well decorated with various themes and well-organized to understand.

I love coming here! Such a varied, big, well looked after and FREE place! They have an awesome variety of plant species and the last section you can walk through packs a lot of fun in a cool space. There is a cafe there and gift shop. Plenty of things to occupy all ages! Parking is paid parking.

Nice place if you’re looking to spend your time meaningful and relaxing. If you are a nature lover then this must be in your bucket list . When we were here we feel like throat we were at home Sri Lanka . All the plantations belong to Sri Lanka climate planted here inside the green house . And the sounds are also match perfectly to the environment. Tropical weather with high humidity and all the plantations are here to find .

Very beautiful place full of many different plants from many different colours. The entrance was free. There's even a wooden watchtower inside and some butterflies flying around the greenhouses.

The building itself is pretty cool. Some of the exhibitions are nice. They have headphones but only in Danish. The roof top sky walk is fun to take photos of.

suppose I hate modern art as most of this was dreadful to my eyes. I did like the landscape paintings and a few others but most of it was weird, bad or just utter nonsense. The two women cutting onions was the biggest joke they called art. I don’t get the rainbow roof either, so what? It’s tinted glass, for kids or Instagram/TikTokers it may be good but not for adults.

I was a bit disappointed from the expectations as they do have 10 floors but in reality only 7-8. The highest floor has the rainbow colored glass and This is definitely the best part of the museum in my opinion. 2 levels below it as the human art which was decent. The floor below it was okay. And all the other floors wasn't worth checking out. 2 floors were for a younger audience. So if you're going as a family it may be worth visiting all the floors. If you're all adults. You may not stay there for super long. They have a cafeteria and toilets as well as Free WiF, they have a button that slows down the rotating door which is good for bad walkers or wheelchair usersi. It's not a bad place but not a super interesting one either in my opinion.

Beautiful museum. A lot of stairs, but there are elevators available for people with difficulty to walk. We loved the interactive art area. We appreciated that the front desk employee warned us for a scarier exposition on the third floor, since we brought our child. That way we could avoid it. What could have made the experience so much better would be if they’d implement a play area for young children. Young kids can get bored or overwhelmed and it would be nice if they could de-stimulate in a play area/child friendly area. That way someone can watch the kids in the play area while the other can enjoy art in peace. The rainbow panorama is very noisy. This could trigger you if you’re sound sensitive. Best is to bring some kind of noise cancelling for a better experience. There was so much amazing art in this museum. It’s definitely worth a visit. Parking is a bit difficult. We went on a workday and there were very few parking spots available.

This museum is a hidden gem. There are 9 floors full of different kinds of art, and the collections never felt too repetitive like the large world-class art museums sometimes do. Floor 0 and all the installments must be checked out; our favorite was the Storm Room haha! I think total I spent 4 hours here, but I went back later in the day before it closed so luckily you can break it up a bit if you need to.

A great museum for a wide range of art, from paintings to 3D sculptures and the rainbow circle of glass on top. The building itself was super cool, especially the internal «courtyard» in the middle with its bridges spanning across the ravine. Enjoyed my visit and will def revisit if I get back to Århus!

When it comes to the space where you can feel the best local feeling, I choose the library. I always visit the city's library wherever I go, but this place felt very family-friendly. Rather than borrowing a book, I felt like I was spending time with my family here and spending the day. The library itself was not a big one. However, to be in a place where you can see the beautiful sea, you will feel good.

Totally awesome place to study and also relax with the view. I always come here and going forward for reviewing my notes in lib. Removed one star because it closed on Saturday 😭

A pretty nice and large library with many options for entertainment. A lot of college students like to go down there to review their work or just relax with a book or their multitude of games. There’s both consoles (Which you need to ask to be opened) and other options for games. Back in the days it used to have more classic consoles, which unfortunately don’t seem to be there anymore, at least to my knowledge. As a local I’d recommend going if you have nothing to do in town.

Great place for tourists and children. Nice views across the harbour with seating and cafe to rest for tourists. and lots of children books and area for kids. Can get busy during the day. Lots of university students here studying.

Apart from the fact that there is access to a wonderful library, study room, high-tech exhibitions, spaces where you can have a coffee with friends, underground parking, etc... for me, it is the most beautiful view of the sea.

Very beautiful architecture with several reading areas and Cafés. You have amazing views of the city and waterfront from the library. I can't comment the books as I don't speak Danish but I felt the foreign language books could have been a little more.

It was an awesome thing to visit a replica of Graceland in Denmark. The inside was like a museum of collections the owner has acquired. It was a good visit and the restaurant was really good. We had lunch and enjoyed it a lot.

My partner booked this as a surprise for my birthday , we are staying for a week in Denmark and we both thought it was amazing! We were greeted by a lovely man called Mathias who was both friendly and informative, he also went out of his way to help us with one of the videos so we could watch in English. As a massive Elvis fan this is a must , so many gems in this collection , it’s just an Elvis Lovers dream. The enthusiasm and excitment Henrik has for Elvis is so nice to see , I really hope this place stays open for ever! We visited on a weekday around 10:30 we arrived and had the whole museum to ourselves! It was great to have that time to leisurely look at everything. We had food in the highway 51 diner too, it’s great if you eat meat as there’s a ton of options but as a vegetarian I found myself left with a few options , the veggie burger or the PB & J sandwich or the salads I think, it’s a great vibe but it would be nice to have some more varied vegetarian options too. However, food was hot and well seasoned which is really important! The gift shop was maybe lacking some more variety , there’s a ton of books, cd’s and vinyls but not much on merchandise front like t shirts, decorative items etc. There are lots of photos to be taken in and around the mansion, the Johnny cash museum and the tupelo house was really cool also and it’s nice to have Elvis music playing everywhere, even outside! 10/10 would recommend and if we ever come back to Denmark we will definitely be visiting again! THE STUPENDOUS MEMPHIS MANSION. SUPERB IN EVERYWAY . I was there as a guest of Benny Ray who is great friends with Henrik and Gitte the owners. The food was spectacular. The atmosphere absolutely amazing. The staff were the best. Having worked at Planet Hollywood, London at the very beginning in 1993. And managed the Fulham Boulevard in 1985 . And having excellent training in Restaurants . You will remember this experience forever. I highly recommend this brilliant Museum of ELVIS MEMROBILLIA. The shop has LP's, CD's. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The museum was also truly amazing not only because it is nearly identical to the original one but also because of the things you can see that Elvis has worn or used. I can also suggest the burgers at the restaurant👌

This zoo was beyond our expectations, it has several species of animals that one may not found in every other zoo. It is a tropical zoo with animals from Asia, Africa & South America and many of those are rarest animal species. It has really nice playgrounds and cafes too. One can easily spend 4-5 hours here.

Do you want a jungle adventure without breaking the bank, this place could be for you. 3 bio domes houses numerous fish, birds, insects and animals like monkeys, Sloth, Crocodile s and many other. We visited this place in start of June and had a great experience. Familys with children will have a splendid time here. After your adventure you can enjoy some food in the cafe or visit a shop with merchandise. I recommend this place for children in all ages and for all interested in biology and animals.

Generally good. But you can tell that the zoo is coming into its years. Way too crowed!! People are pushing through with their big kiddie bicycle trailers or huge prams. It’s also very loud even if signs are asking visitors to be quiet. Still kids are loving it and the new outdoor area is nice.

A must see if you are visiting the area! I was really surprised by the diversity of the ecosystems on display here. Each space was beautifully constructed and everything seemed natural and wild. There were a lot more animals here than I had expected. The info cards about each animal were a nice addition and I learned many new bits of trivia during the visit.

I love Randers Rainforest even though I live in Copenhagen I have now been there twice, this last time on my own so that I could take my time. I want to go again soon.

This is how a zoo should be! They way they build the zoo is briljant everything seems to be one. A little ledge zo the turtles dont run away but you can step in with them. A little house with a window with big cuddly cats, a cave with bats where they nearly hit you head, really cool! pro tip, if you have binoculairs bring them! To see the birds upclose is even cooler. Another tip, my pregnant wife needed a few times to sit. And everytime you do you wil discover new animals, so take your time. All signs have English on them and they have really smart signs with al the animals on them you might wanna take a photo of them zo you can cross off what you found, a little where is Waldo. We came around 13:00 and parking was really full, we had to wait til somebody left. We waited 5 minutes so not that long. We spend like 3 hours and took our time and had a little lunch. And we forget to see the animals outside… I saw that in the other reviews. Sometimes the signs on the doors are a bit demotivating, something Danisch stands on the door and it probable says you may not eat in there and pet animals but if you cannot read it it could also say dont go in here. Will come back!

A little attraction of Mariager. Do not expect too much. Swimming pool is rather a my all but salt water experience paid off. There is also a salt related exhibition, a boutique, and picturesque caffe shop.

Quite a good experience particularly with opportunity to bath in Salt bath however could have been better with more consistent English translations. Video in main museum had subtitles in places but not all the time, video in salt mine exhibit had subtitles in English to show when video would play but then played whole video without subtitles. I get the impression from seat belts on seats this was designed to be an interactive experience but clearly wasn't working as that anymore. There were QR codes with links to videos on museum which were very good it just could have been a bit more consistent for the money.

Small and cozy place located in a very nice area. It was interesting to learn more about salt and take a salted bath 🙂 I liked the choice of salt in the gift shop as well.

Great museum. We really learned interesting things about salt, got to see how it is made (live demo) and could even swim in a pool with saturated salt water. This is great center, with a good shop to buy gifts in and very friendly employees.

Too expensive and everything is in Danish... The pool is cool, but looks extremely small! The layout is weird, it just doesn't know what it wants to be. So many ugly cinema chairs, a play corner for kids and much more in 20m2 while horribly put together... The salt mine itself isn't even a mine, it's a cheap horribly put together theme park ride that takes not even 5 minutes of your time. And everything is in control of 2 uninterested 14 year olds... Don't recommend going here at all.

Interesting place definitively worth the visit. The English audio-guide helped understand all variety displayed. Something interesting for the whole family including activities and games for children, historic perspectives of the region and history of our globe to wonderful sculptures inside the limestone cave.

If you visit this part of Denmark, do not miss this location. The caves are incredibly beautiful. Also, the rest of the museum has a lot to offer. A huge part about the local area but also news from the time of the cold war.

We had a great day here. Learned a lot. Something for all ages. Everything was beautifully presented. The place was just great. The lady in reception was brilliant. So helpful and informative. Clearly a big passion for the place and everything there. It is truly a hidden gem.

Pretty castle ruins from the 1300s on a island peninsula. Beautiful views. Ample parking, toilets, ice cream, cafe and 24h snack/coffee dispensers. Not suitable for wheelchairs or walkers.

The Kalo Castle premise was built in the 1300s and if you look closely, there were both stones and bricks used in the construction of the fortress. We rationalised that this was probably due to a “transition” in technology from building with stones to the use of bricks. Around the castle’s premise, we could also see several groups of people just enjoying the sun and taking in the views out to sea. In the distance, you could see Aarhus City and the tallest building in Denmark known as the “Lighthouse” on Aarhus island. There are also nice (and safe) steps constructed in the castle ruins to allow visitors head up for panoramic views of the surroundings... If you are up for a long walk, this is a really nice place to visit, but be sure to bring water. There is a small restaurant at the beginning of the trail so you can buy from there. The road to the ruin is old and made out of big rocks so be careful if you bring strollers and wear comfortable shoes. You can't drive to the actual ruin, but they have a free parking lot. All in all, it takes about 1 hour and 30 min to walk to the castle, visit it and walk back.

A nice place to visit and to take a little walk in the beautuful Danish nature. In summer its great to stop on the narrow way to the castle, take of the shoes and step into the water for a few minutes. Near to the bar/shop by the parking area there is a clean public toilette avaible when needed.

Great place to visit if you are near by. Calm and uncommercialized. There is ample car park here if you decide to drive down here and also café at the start of the trail. You need to cover decent ground to reach the castle or what is left of it. Its not steep hike but it will consume your energy ;-). I would recommend you a bottle of water (at least a small one) with you. We spent around 1-2 hours here, enjoying the walk and scenery around. We caught the sunset when we visited. The view from the castle edge will mesmerize you especially on a clear day.

The Zoo is a nice size zoo that has great exhibits. A few of them actually allow you to walk within the exhibit as long as you stay on the path. Well laid out paths. Plenty of parking in a grass lot just past the zoo entrance. Buy your tickets online prior to your arrival and save a little money!

Great zoo experience with something for all ages. From dinosaurpark to pettingzoo, inovative varied information and some very friendly staff who are also very invested in telling about the different animals and their stories. Their food could do with some more quality vs pricelevel though.

Aalborg Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination! We had a wonderful time exploring the zoo with our kids. They were thrilled to see the impressive dinosaur exhibit, which sparked their imagination. The highlight for them was definitely the big cats – the tigers and lions were magnificent. We also enjoyed watching the zebras and giraffes, and the penguins were absolutely adorable. The lemurs added a playful touch to our visit. The zoo offers a great variety of animals and plenty of interactive experiences for children. Highly recommended for a fun-filled family day out!

A truly fantastic experience! I loved the focus on rare and endangered species like the magnificent Asian lions and Bornean orangutans. The zoo balances serious conservation with family fun; the Dinosaur Land exhibit, with its life-size characters, was an absolute highlight that the children loved. A must-visit attraction for anyone in the region!

2025-10-15 - Far from being the best zoo we have visited (family of 5 persons). It wasn’t a bad experience, but not really good either. We spend 4 hours here and was asked several times by our kids when should leave (age 10, 7 and 4). There was a Halloween theme, which was made quite well, but sadly it wasn’t enough to change our experience. Also parking the car was a mess as there wasn’t enough parking spots.

Really had a good time at this place . They have quite a good range of animals . You can easily spend upto 3 hours. A lot of eating place and kids play area . The place is kept quite clean and organized . And jot far from the city center.

If you’re at all interested in Viking history, you must visit Lindholm Viking Museum! The site is incredibly well-preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into Viking life and burial traditions. The museum itself is modern, informative, and thoughtfully curated—perfect for both casual visitors and history enthusiasts. The surrounding landscape adds to the atmosphere, making it a truly immersive experience.

Excellent museum with English/German/French translation. Not for all exhibits though. Possibly the best I've seen for stone age - bronze age - iron age and into early medieval/viking age. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Nice museum with two expositions. Lot of explanations but only in Danish, English and sometimes German and French.

It's a small and nice visit. There some interactive bits to simulate a fire in a house, also a part with a video how to make a weapon from stone and then you get to see how it looks like. Its not mandatory to pay the museum to see the vicking graveyard but kinda complementa well and does not take much time and is not very expensive.

The Viking Museum in Aalborg impresses with its view of the ancient burial site and its engaging presentation of Viking life. It happens to be the first day open of 2025 for this big adventure park. It is the biggest adventure park in Denmark. My two girls and their cousin can’t wait to get there. We got there around 11am and left till 6pm. It is not very busy today but probably because they were closed during winter and just back today so some rides got technical issues to be fixed. It happens 3 times during our time there. Specially one of the popular ride called The Dragon, my girls waited for more than half hour, then they had been told they need to leave as there is a issue need to be fixed, but they did not offer any fast track pass for those who waited long time there at all. In general, the park is very good and fit all different ages’ need. We had great fun there although when the rain started, it was really cold as there has no indoor rides and no many indoor rest area.

We had a great visit here! Not only were the staff amazing from even before we came, helping with tickets and questions, but the staff in the park were also so friendly and helpful. We had to barely wait in line for most rides which is ideal!! The park has a great variety of rides for all stomachs. There is something for everyone! Trampolines and great picnic facilities and grills areas you can book and use for free. The park was tidy and the day was great!

Had a fantastic day here. Went on a Sunday after the school holidays ended and it wasn't busy. Longest wait time was about 10 mins. Got to try all the rides we wanted to go on and even had down time to sit and chill and use the tramps. Recommend a visit here!

Excellent attraction park. Our kids enjoyed Sommerland more than Legoland. There are so many options for all ages. Park facilities are very well thought and organized. Many food stalls from various cousines. We will come back.

Perfect place! Everything in one place, lots of rides, water park and etc. Also many places to eat, or to grill. Loved it!

Great place, love also the small selection of Animals to give them as much space as possible. Overall the park was great, it was the first time that i had the feeling that the animals did like the park and didnt were sad, they were looking happy and also were active and going around. You have to walk a bit to see everything in the park but that was not a problem. Would visit it again

Beautiful park. The deer are worth visiting the park. Nice, clean and very easy to visit the entire place.

Early birds and visitors on colder days will probably have the best experience. In April, with just a few other guests, we could get closer to the animals as in any other park. And still, the animal feel well placed and have space to withdraw. Furthermore: the stuff is friendly, there is a nice playground and the toilettes are clean. All in all a great experience for nature loving people and probably all kids.

Really lovely big zoo with Scandinavian animals

Fantastic place to meet the wild animals that reside in the Nordics and Scandinavia. Lots of space and very family friendly. Feeding of polar bears and eagles is done twice a day in front of the guests. The staff is very professional and informative. Toilet facilities present several strategic places and there is a huge playground for the kids.

WOUAW ! The best animal park we have ever been to. Clean, broad, family friendly. We can assist to feeding session of animals, we can feed some animals by ourselves, there is a huge playground in the park and coffee for the adults. It was not a zoo, it was a walk in the nature together with the animals.

Nice park for the whole family. The animals have plenty of room. Most presentations are only in Danish, but the staff is really nice and can tell you more in English.

Very happy with our experience in this hotel. Had breakfast and dinner, both deserved 5 out of 5 stars. The staff is super friendly, everything was clean and of course the hotel is located close to the beach. Great price performance ratio.

Løkken. On paper, just another little Danish seaside town. But roll in on a summer afternoon, and it hits you different—wind off the North Sea, surfers dragging boards across sand that seems to run forever, and these elegant old holiday houses that whisper money and history. It’s the kind of place where Danish families have been coming for generations, and you feel like an interloper in the best way. Skip Hirtshals. Everybody goes there for the ferry to Kristiansand, but Hirtshals is a staging post, nothing more. Løkken, twenty minutes south, is the real move. And tucked just off the main square—five minutes’ walk, close enough for action but mercifully removed from the chaos—you find Hotel Vandred. This place is a find. Small. Boutique. Rooms that are clean, pared down, exactly what you need and nothing you don’t. Bathrooms that don’t make you feel like you’re camping. That Danish knack for design: minimal, practical, but warm enough you don’t feel like you’ve checked into a furniture showroom. The kitchen is where Vandred really sings. When I rolled in, the crew was deep in mise en place—shellfish, fresh fish, the kind of seafood that smells of the sea instead of a freezer truck. A wine list that actually shows some thought. Dinner here is the sort of thing that makes you want to linger: no gimmicks, just product, technique, and respect for the ingredients. Løkken itself can get crowded—holiday families, beachgoers, the whole scene—but that’s the beauty of Vandred. You park right at the hotel, walk your bags in, grab a shower, and in five minutes you’re in the thick of town with a drink in hand. Then back to quiet when you’ve had enough. It’s the balance that makes it work. Hotel Vandred isn’t trying to be the kind of place you brag about on Instagram. It doesn’t need to. It’s the place you actually want to stay: a haven, a kitchen worth the trip, and a front-row seat to a town that’s got more character than its ferry-port neighbor ever will.

All staff is friendly and professional. Good parking spots and nice location. I enjoyed my stay and the beds are great.
