Yozgat Merkez İstanbulluoğlu Mahallesinde yer alan konak, 1871 tarihinde yapılmış uzun yıllar konut olarak kullanılmış bir müddet “Kız Sanat Okulu” ve bir dönem de “Tekel Deposu” olarak hizmet vermiştir. 1979 yılında kamulaştırılan Konak büyük bir onarım sonrası 1985 yılında “Müze” olarak hizmete girmiştir. Müzenin alt kat salonlarında arkeolojik eserler, üst kat salonlarında ise etnografik eserler sergilenmektedir. Üst kat odalarda 19. yy resim sanatının nadide örnekleri dikkate değerdir. Nizamoğlu Konağı esas itibarıyla bir Etnografya Müzesi olarak açılmıştır. 1985 yılından 2008 yılına kadar Yozgat Müzesi etnografik teşhir özelliklerini korumuş, son yapılan düzenlemelerle ilin arkeolojik potansiyelini yansıtan üç salon ziyaretçilerin beğenisine açılmıştır. Etnografik Eserler Bölümü 1985 yılında ziyarete açılan Müzede 2802' adet etnografik eser bulunmaktadır. Etnografik eserler genelde Osmanlının Geç Dönemleri ve Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarına ait erkek ve bayan giyim kuşam eşyaları, mutfak eşyaları, çeşitli silahlar, ahşap malzemeler, kilim ve halı dokumalar, el yazma eserler, sancak gibi eserlerden oluşmaktadır. Üst Kat Hol Yozgat’ın eski belediye başkanlarından Salim KORKMAZ tarafından hibe edilen Aynalı Körük olarak yörede meşhur at arabası sergilenmektedir. Eyvan kısmında ise yok olmuş sivil mimari örneklerine ait süslemeli ahşap kapı ve yüklük kapıları ile camilerden getirilen şamdanlar sergilenmektedir. Mutfak Konağın üst kat mutfağında, vitrinler içerisinde Selçuklu, Osmanlı ve Cumhuriyet dönemine ait porselen, seramik, bakır ve ahşap mutfak eşyaları bulunmaktadır. İslami Eserler Salonu Bu salonda bir Kâbe Örtüsü parçası, tekke eşyalarının ve alem, şamdan gibi bronz eşyaların teşhir edildiği vitrinler bulunmaktadır. Birinci Baş Oda Üst katın güney-batı köşesinde bulunan bu salon orijinal kullanımına uygun şekilde düzenlenmiştir. Sedirler üzerinde bedri yastıklar, mangal, ayaklı büyük bir saat, gramofon, halı ve kilimlerle döşenmiştir. İkinci Baş Oda Üst katın güney-doğu köşesinde bulunan bu salon da orijinal kullanımına uygun bir teşhire sahiptir. Salonda Yozgat Lisesinden getirilen 19. yüzyıl sonuna ait bir org da bulunmaktadır. Silahlar Salonu 18. ve 19. yüzyılda kullanılmış çakmaklı tüfek, el yapımı Karadağ tabancalar, kılıçlar ve çeşitli harp malzemeleri ile ahşap ve bronz ünik eserler vitrinlerde sergilenmektedir. Gelin Odası Pirinç bir karyola, dikiş makinesi, beşikler, ahşap sandıklar kilim ve el işleri ile 19. yüzyıla ait bir gelin odası bu salon ile günümüze aktarılmıştır. Arkeolojik Eserler Bölümü 1985 ziyarete açılan Müzemizde 1648 adet arkeolojik eser bulunmaktadır. Bunların büyük çoğunluğu, özellikle taş eserlerdir. It is the first national park as a forest in Turkey. Atatürk visited here in 1934 and althoug wanted to stay in a small hotel in the park couldn't stay sbecause of his program.

Nice place to pass by on you way passing çorum. The entrance fees are almost free. Then there is a 2 floor mini museum with the excavated items. Next you can take a walk in the ruins of the old town. We visited in summer and grass was very high that we barely saw the ruins.

It's very old place . Amazingly old and clean atmosphere . If you know something about archeology it's will bee priceless experience. I recommended to explore from Internet before going there . The museum is a little bit big so 2-3 hour enough for more stuff .

It's all part of the overall entrance fee, currency EUR3 for foreigners. Some of the exhibits are exact copies of the stuff from the Hattusa museum - literally copied paragraphs. But this one doesn't have its own charge. All good. Takes about 10 minutes.

While certainly small compared to nearby Hattusha/Boğazkale, Alaca Höyük is still a fascinating place to visit if you're at all interested in history and archaeology. The Sphinx Gate and postern tunnel are especially interesting. To see what valuables were dug up at Alaca Höyük you'll need to visit the Çorum archaeology museum or Ankara's museum of anatolian civilizations as very little was left in the little on-site museum.

Indoor museum is definitely not a rich one, half an hour is enough to see every item closely. Some of the items are not listed in display (no numbers). Outdoor museum is also poor, the sphinx gate at the entry and kings tombs being the best.

What an amazing view here. The ruins are worth seeing also, especially during sunset. I would highly recommend are guided tour.

Important site and a nice ride through beautiful country side, however many of the items originally discovered here at Alacahöyük including Hattian gold objects and the famous Bronze Age sun disks are now on display in the magnificent Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara.
