Park
Nature & Parks
Skver Voinskoy Slavy 1941-1945 G.g. is a beautifully maintained square that offers a serene escape in the heart of the city. While it boasts lovely landscaping and benches for relaxation, some visitors feel that the children's amusement park detracts from its charm, as it features outdated attractions reminiscent of past eras. However, this vibrant space also hosts various cultural events such as concerts and theatrical performances, showcasing local talent alongside visiting artists.

(Translated by Google) The square itself has been put in order. There are not enough benches along the extreme Alley, along Pacheva Street. The whole impression is spoiled by the children's amusement park, there are 5-6 assorted cabins, like at a construction site, but there is minimal entertainment for children, even from the times of the USSR (it would be better if they installed a standard children's playground). (Original) Сам сквер привели в порядок. Не хватает скамеек по крайней Аллее, вдоль улицы Пачева. Gergeti Trinity Church

Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
Gergeti Trinity Church, located in the historical Khevi province of Georgia, is a 14th-century cross-cupola church perched on top of Gergeti Mountain at an impressive height of 2,200 meters above sea level. This iconic monument offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, with the majestic Mt Kazbek as a backdrop.
“A cultural gem with an amazing view.”✨ This is definitely a must see when visiting Kazbegi. We hiked up the mountain, which is easily doable. However, you can also reach the location by car. The most stunning thing about the location is the view. You are high up the mountain and can see the entire valley on various sides. The church itself is also very pretty from the inside.
Genuine M — Google review
To visit this place is an experience to be cherished. The views of the mountains and the valley are phenomenal. We drove to the church. The road is sealed so even a sedan can drive on it, no need for a 4 wheel drive. You can also hike to the church. The chapel is small but peaceful. Please dress modestly. Women in pants can borrow a wrap around skirt kept in a basket as you enter the chapel. We visited in October where the hillside was rich with colour. Entry is free

We've been to Kazbegi and Stepenzminda twice but luckily could visit this Famous and Ancient Orthodox Churh this summer. The View is indeed stunning and you cant miss here. Able to light up few candles and its a really good experience. You can reach via vehicle or by local guides vehicles. ⛪️🏔⛰️
Rasika F — Google review
I visited the Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Kazbegi, Georgia in October 2025 during autumn with my family. We started our journey from Gudauri and covered a few local viewpoints along the way. The road trip was incredibly scenic—mountains painted in shades of lemon yellow, brown, red, and green from the autumn leaves. The higher peaks, which are usually snow-covered, looked almost bare with no trees or grass. The monastery sits at an altitude of around 2,500 meters, and the road leading up from Kazbegi is extremely steep and curvy—only experienced drivers should attempt it. After parking, you need to do a short trek to reach the monastery, and the winds at the top are very strong. Once you reach the summit, the view around feels like something straight out of a wallpaper or desktop background. One piece of advice: please wear proper ethnic or modest clothing to respect the local culture. After that, we visited the last monastery near the Georgia–Russia border, which is also beautiful and located right next to the highway. Finally, we returned to Gudauri and took a jeep up the mountains to see and touch the remaining patches of snow at the summit.
Bipin C — Google review
One of the most breathtaking views you can see in Georgia. The vibe and peace of this mountain church is truly unmatched. Entry and parking is free. However, its much further away from Kazbegi than the map shows, it was around 20 mins one-way
Fekete M — Google review
Gergeti Trinity Church is easily one of the most memorable places to visit in Georgia. Sitting high above Stepantsminda with Mount Kazbek rising dramatically behind it, the views are simply breathtaking. Whether you hike up the trail or take a 4x4 vehicle, the journey itself feels like part of the experience. The hike is steep in parts, but the scenery along the way makes it completely worth it. The church dates back to the 14th century and has a quiet, spiritual atmosphere. Even with visitors around, it still feels calm and authentic. The stone architecture paired with the wide-open mountain landscape creates a truly iconic sight—one that looks amazing in every season. Perfect for photography, relaxing, or just enjoying the fresh mountain air. Weather can change fast, so it’s good to bring something warm. Early mornings and late afternoons offer the best lighting, and if you're lucky, you’ll see the peak of Kazbek emerge from the clouds. A must-see landmark in Kazbegi and one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the entire country!
Krishna K — Google review
We had the pleasure of visiting the stunning Gergeti Trinity Church, nestled at an elevation of 2170m and just a ten-minute drive from Stepantsminda, the nearby town. Opting to drive up the mountain was definitely the right choice for us, given the steep and cold conditions. The views from the top were absolutely spectacular and made the drive completely worth it. We admired those who chose to hike up, kudos to them! It wasn't our cup of tea, but the breathtaking panorama made the trip unforgettable either way. Highly recommend visiting for anyone considering it; whether you hike or drive, the scenery won’t disappoint!
Sal S — Google review
This was an incredible experience from start to finish. We chose to hike the track up to the church, which I would strongly suggest. The walk itself is lovely and not too strenuous, taking us about two and a half hours. The scenery along the way is breathtaking. But the true magic is inside the monastery. The moment you enter, you feel a shift. The air is calm, and there's a profound, ancient feeling all around you. It's one of those special places that quiets your mind and settles your soul. The entire experience was simply awesome, and the feeling inside that monastery will stay with me for a long time.

At 16,581 feet above sea level, Mt Kazbek is an impressive extinct volcano offering hiking and climbing routes. Also known as Mount Kazbegi or Mkinvartsveri in Georgian, it's nicknamed The Bride due to its often fog-shrouded peak. Located on the border of Georgia's Kazbegi District, reaching the mountain takes a two to three-hour drive followed by a walk due to slippery ice.
Beautiful mountains, breathtaking scenery, one of highest mountains in Georgia. Recommended to visit and visualize this beautiful mountains when visited Georgia. Not to be missed.

Detailed Kazbek 2024 summit expedition trip report. Our expedition, organized by Elamus Pluss, consisted of 12 members: two guides, ten well-prepared climbers. Each participant had undergone extensive six-month training and/or had prior high-altitude experience. We carried all our gear, including food, tents, and equipment (backpacks15-25 kg, no horses used). Day 1 (July 4): Riga (11pm) -> Tbilisi (4:45am) flight. Day 2 (July 5): After landing, picked up by a 20-seater bus at 5:00 am, heading straight to Stepantsminda. Arrived by 9:00 am. The morning was spent preparing for the climb—buying gas, snacks, renting additional equipment. Checked into the Paramount Hotel at 1:00 pm. The hotel, which has its own Delica (6-seater bus), arranged transport to the Trinity Church for 60 lari. After some rest, we held a group meeting in the evening to discuss the expedition plan and distribute group equipment. Dinner at Cozy Corner, night ended with packing and early sleep. Day 3 (July 6): 8:00 am breakfast, we took Delicas to the Trinity Church and began our hike at 9:57 am. The trail to the 3000m camp took approximately 4 hours and 50 minutes, following a work-rest rhythm of 50 minutes of walking + 10 min of rest, with some additional breaks as needed. We arrived just in time to set up our tents before the rain started. The 3000m camp now has two huts: Altihut and the newer Alpine Hut Deka, which is closer to the tent area. Deka offers a cozy sitting area with a fireplace, and amenities like beer (15 lari) and overnight stays (150 lari). Tent campers can use the facilities if they make purchases at the bar. Evening spent packing for the next day and went to bed early. Day 4 (July 7): Woke up at 6:45 am and began our hike to the Bethlem camp (3653m) at 8:09 am, arriving at 1:30 pm after a 5-hour, 20-minute trek covering 4.8 km and 700 meters of altitude gain. That evening, we decided to reduce our stay at Meteo camp from four nights to three due to a favorable earlier weather window. Group’s health was strong. Day 5 (July 8): The day was dedicated to glacier and self-arrest training on the Meteo camp slope from 10:00 to 11:30 am. In the evening, check-in meeting at 7:00 pm to monitor group health, measure SpO2 levels, and assess altitude sickness symptoms. Also discussed summit day plan, ensuring everyone was well-prepared. Day 6 (July 9): Summit day began at midnight. We gathered at the Meteo well, and started the ascent at 1:08 am. Assistant was the pointman, maintaining a steady pace with a heart rate target of 140 bpm. One member turned back early due to the fast pace, as per our agreement to make a decision before reaching the glacier. Here’s a breakdown of our times and distances: • To White Cross: 35 minutes • To 3000 altitude meters: 1h 15min • To 4000m: 1h 25min • Glacier equipment on at 4250m: 2h 20min • To 4500m: 3h 55min, covering 5.6km • To 4650m: 5h, covering 6.2km • To 4800m: 6h 05min, covering 6.3km • To 4850m (peak plateau, Russian-Georgian border): 6h 30min SUMMIT at 8:40 am after a 7.5-hour climb, with 11/12 members making it to the top. The final section, though steep with a 40-degree incline, was manageable due to 20-30 cm of fresh snow, which made for easy steps. The conditions were safe, no need for extra ropes or belaying. We spent 20 minutes at the summit, enjoying clear skies before descending. Fog and clouds rolled in just as we started down, making the snow mushy. We returned to Meteo camp by 12:45 pm, completing the summit round trip in under 12 hours. Fatigue set in, with two members showing strong symptoms of altitude sickness, but all recovered after resting. Day 7 (July 10): We began our descent at 8:40 am in rainy conditions (muddy terrain) especially for those without walking poles. We crossed the glacier with just crampons. We arrived at the Trinity Church parking lot by 1:00 pm, where our bus was already waiting to take us back.

Mount Kazbegi is the third-highest peak in Georgia. With snow capped mountains, forest ranges and lakes make it the most beautiful part of Georgia. The Georgian Military Highway leading to Kazbegi from Tbilisi is itself is a drive which I will never forget. There are many places on the way where one can stop to enjoy the view and take pictures. But on the narrow road, there can be traffic jam, which we faced both ways. There are several accommodation options available if anyone wants to spend more time.

When in Tbilisi, don't miss the Mother of Georgia Tramway for an unforgettable experience. The cable car ride offers stunning panoramic views of the entire city and is a great way to capture some amazing photos. The smooth journey up to the Mother of Georgia statue and Narikala Fortress is definitely worth it, especially during sunset when you can enjoy both daylight and nighttime views. With clear skies adding to the beauty, this scenic delight is a must-visit in Tbilisi.
It seemed like a long lineup but it went quickly. If you tap your card or phone it's quicker than paying cash. Great views going up and from the top at $1.50 Canadian definitely worth doing. You can take the tram down, no lineup, or take the stairs down. Lots of interesting things to see on the walk down. Highly recommend 🇨🇦

Definitely worth it. don't need to buy your tickets in advance. Can just get in the queue and buy them ticket counter right before you get on the gondola. We weren't for sunset so it was a little bit crowded. We waited around 20 minutes but the line moved fast.

Definitely one of the best attractions in Tbilisi — highly recommended! 🇬🇪🙌

At the top there are lots of stands with souvenirs and a very talentad musician with an impressive international repertoire. A small cafe welcomes you with refreshments and BBQ. The Bridge of Peace is a modern pedestrian bridge in Tbilisi, Georgia, designed by Italian architects and French lighting designers. This steel and glass structure spans the Mtkvari River, connecting the city's old and new districts with its unique 150-meter-long design. The bridge features an interactive LED light display system with 30,000 lights and 240 sensors that create mesmerizing patterns symbolizing human chemistry and peace.
✨ Morning at the Bridge of Peace ✨ Walking across this stunning glass-and-steel landmark in Tbilisi was such a surreal experience. In the calm of the morning, with soft light filtering through its arched design, I could really feel the beauty of how it connects the Old Town with modern Rike Park. It’s not just a bridge — it’s where tradition and modernity shake hands, and I was right there in the middle of it, soaking it all in. 🌿🌉

The Bridge of Peace is one of those places that looks beautiful from every angle. I stopped by for a walk and took a few photos because the light, the view, and the structure all felt so calming. It’s a lovely spot to pause, enjoy the river, and take in the atmosphere of the city — and a few goofy little dogs were enjoying the view just as much.
Moon N — Google review
The Bridge of Peace in the center of Tbilisi is not without controversy. Some people dislike it because they feel that it disrupts the harmony of the more classical architecture around it. I found that it actually integrates quite well with the river and the old and newer sections of the city. The bridge was designed and built in Italy and assembled in Tbilisi with lighting provided by French designers. Like it or not, it's a very memorable structure that's hard to ignore. Tourists and visitors love to visit it for pictures and memories.

Peace Bridge, Tbilisi The Peace Bridge is one of the must-see spots in Tbilisi. It’s best to visit early in the morning when it’s quiet and not crowded — perfect for a peaceful walk and great photos with fewer people around. At night, the bridge becomes even more magical when it lights up. You can also take a boat ride under it for beautiful reflections and a different view of the illuminated structure. Both times of day show a unique side of the bridge and the city.

İt is not only a bridge, is a social and meting centre at the same time. You can see people who sing a song and watch the river and view. Amazing architectural structure, it is impress me.

This is definitely a must-visit spot in Tbilisi! Located right in the heart of the city, the bridge offers stunning views both from afar and while walking across. Its modern, sleek design beautifully connects the city, and since it’s situated in Rike Park, you also get to enjoy a lovely stroll through greenery before stepping onto the bridge. At the entrance, there are these unique “falling trees” I’d never seen before, which make it even more special. Walking across is an experience in itself—you’ll find people offering bird photos, even a 360° video booth if you want to have some fun! On the other side, there are plenty of great restaurants to try. Overall, such a beautiful and lively spot that I’d highly recommend.

The Bridge of Peace in , Georgia, is a modern pedestrian bridge over the . Its sleek, futuristic design contrasts beautifully with the city's historic architecture. The bridge offers stunning views of the city, especially at night when it's illuminated. It's a popular spot for photos and a symbol of modern Tbilisi. Crossing the bridge is a pleasant experience, connecting the old and new parts of the city. It's a must-visit for those exploring .

Restaurant
Perched atop Mount Mtatsminda in Tbilisi, the renowned Funicular restaurant offers a stunning and elegant dining experience. With modern decor and a spacious terrace, it provides a perfect setting for enjoying Georgian and oriental cuisine, including vegetarian and meat dishes. The menu features famous dishes like steak, fried lamb, cheese pies, and oysters. This 4-star establishment is equipped with electronic payment options, disabled-friendly facilities, free parking, and internet access.
We had an amazing evening at Funicular! We came for a birthday and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to make the evening special. They brought out a cake and card that I delivered prior and gave us a wonderful table, thank you to Anastasia for this! The menu has plenty of options but is focused and not overwhelming in anyway, they are specialised in the dishes they offer. Presentation is that of a Michelin star restaurant and ingredient quality is amazing. A restaurant like this in Western Europe would easily cost €500+, especially somewhere like Paris or London. The feel is very elegant and classy, yet very much affordable for most people in comparison to similar restaurants in Western Europe. Food, views, ambience and service were all spectacular - I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion if you want an evening to remember!

Hard to rate but let me explain. For our last evening in the city we decided to experience this unique location and restaurant with high expectations. The view is indeed amazing and the interior looks stunning yet a bit old fashioned. All fine, good menu and selection of wines. But: Eggplant starter was not cooked till tender and rather raw and odd to eat/cut. Vegetarian platter surprised positively. Salmon steak was overcooked and pea mash rather unseasoned. Also the pork ribs were a shame. Way more bone than any meat and felt like they were cooked like 2-3 hours ago, set aside and waited until someone ordered. Good rips are in my opinion when you can easily pull the bone but here not even tissues were served if you were to eat by hands (not done). Potates got all the seasoning and were cold and way to seasoned. Also there was a big party in the last room next to main room but the music was so loud, that you could barely hear each other. Other guests with gala dresses and suits were also surprised negatively and for us this killed the whole vibe. We did not order dessert or further wine and really looked forward to leaving. Normally I am not that harsh in rating but for an upscale unique spot in the heart of Georgia with this view and prices on the higher end this was not acceptable. Next time better skip on restaurant and experience the fun park nearby or the view alone.

I booked a table at the restaurant in advance to celebrate birthday with a beautiful view of the city. I even mentioned birthday date in the reservation. Did I receive any compliment or at least a couple of nice words of congratulations? – No! Did I get the promised panoramic view? – No, we were seated at the other end of the hall, almost by the wall (they told us it was also a window – but that “view” was only of overturned chairs in the backyard). The prices are way too high. We ordered exactly the same bottle of wine in a very good restaurant in the city for 32 GEL, while here it cost 90. I’m willing to pay for service, view, and atmosphere – but sitting in the corner without a view and drinking wine priced 3x higher was a terrible experience.

The Funicular Restaurant is hands down one of the most iconic dining spots in all of Tbilisi — and for good reason. From the moment you step inside, you're hit with this perfect blend of elegance, history, and insane views. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner, a family meal, or just treating yourself (because why not?), this place makes every visit feel special. Let’s talk food: absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor — from classic Georgian dishes like khinkali and khachapuri to more refined mains and desserts. The service was just as good — attentive but not overbearing, with staff who know the menu and make great recommendations. But the real flex here? The view. The restaurant sits high on Mtatsminda, and the massive windows give you a front-row seat to the Tbilisi skyline. If you time it around sunset or stay until the city lights come on, it’s honestly breathtaking. Yes, it’s a bit on the pricier side for Tbilisi, but 100% worth it for the full experience. Great food, classy atmosphere, and the best view in town — 5 stars, no doubt.

This is truly a must-see place in Tbilisi. The view is breathtaking, and the food is beyond words—and let me tell you why. My friend, who is Georgian herself and knows all the secrets of authentic Georgian cuisine, said this spot captures it all. Every dish we tried was unforgettable. The cheese in the khachapuri was rich and flavorful—truly something special. We had lamb kebabs, cheese khachapuri, donuts, and coffee. I genuinely can’t pick a favorite because everything was just incredible. The atmosphere was serene, the air felt fresh and pure, and the service was something I haven’t experienced anywhere else. I believe there were about five of us at the table, and at least seven attentive waiters constantly checking in and making sure everything was perfect. This was an amazing experience from start to finish. If you want to taste the soul of Georgia and enjoy it with stunning views and top-tier service, this is the place to go.
Evguenia K — Google review
Contrary to my previous negative experience, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The food and service were both delicious. I particularly loved the pork with cranberry sauce and the potatoes. The cheese table was also a highlight, with an array of delectable cheeses. But what truly set this place apart were the views and the decor. The marble everywhere and high ceilings created a luxurious and open atmosphere, reminiscent of the 1950s. It’s an amazing place, highly recommended for its stunning views and exceptional dining experience.

Borjomi Central Park is a serene oasis nestled in lush evergreen forests, offering a refreshing escape from the summer heat. Visitors can relax on benches under ancient trees, explore playgrounds and rides with their kids, and savor the renowned Borjomi water from the mineral spring. The park features well-maintained gardens, walking paths, and various recreational facilities for picnics and leisurely strolls.
This establishment is known for being quite welcoming and suitable for families. The tickets are reasonably priced, and it offers continuous access, available around the clock. Complimentary carbonated water is provided under the blue dome. Additionally, there's a section where one can capture wonderful photographs while standing on the stones beside the river, though caution is advised due to potential slipperiness.

Beautiful, well maintained park with plenty to see and do inside. There is a small funfair for children, a zip line, waterfall, plenty of walks and points of collection for the famous borjomi water. Recommend visiting here if you are in the town, entrance fee is a couple of GEL per person.

Borjomi Central Park is a beautiful and peaceful place that truly captures the charm of this historic spa town. The park is clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by stunning nature. You can enjoy a relaxing walk along the river, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and even try the famous Borjomi mineral water straight from the spring. There are many attractions for both adults and children, including a small amusement area, rope park, and even a cable car that offers lovely views of the surrounding forest. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming — perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers looking to unwind. In autumn, the colors of the trees are especially magical. It’s one of those places where you feel connected to nature and history at the same time. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Georgia!

Nice nature place to check, it's probably the highlight of Borjomi, There plenty of views you also can drink the Borjomi original water for free or like people do take huge bottles with you to take away. Be careful from some of the restaurants on the way to the park they seem good but they are overpriced and the food is disgusting.
Alex B — Google review
This is a tourist park that charges a 5-lari entrance fee. However, the park is still under construction and currently offers very little apart from a pleasant view of a small waterfall. There is a children’s amusement area, but it too is unfinished. The road leading to the sulfur pools is muddy and unpaved, making it difficult to walk. Additionally, access to the pools — located about 3 km from the park, roughly a 45-minute walk — costs an extra 15 lari.

Sights & Landmarks
Akhaltsikhe (Rabati) Castle, also known as Rabati, is a massive double-walled fortress complex dating back to the 9th century, with most structures built in the 12th century. The Georgian government invested heavily in its reconstruction in 2012. Situated at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, it's a major attraction dominating the landscape.
Fantastic place. Yes it had been renovated, maybe too nice, but it gives a good impression how it used to be. There is a part with free entrance where you can climb in the 2 towers and walk the walls. That is also where hoek and restaurants/cafes are. The Paris part is really really nice. So many things to see. It is really worth the money. Take some time though.

Nice castle, though there were little to no exhibitions. There is a small museum on the castles grounds, but it has separate tickets, so we didn't decide to go in.

Pretty cool castle complex. Lots of space, many different buildings to visit, and great views. Some free public spaces, but buying a ticket is worth it, especially if you have time and enjoy exploring. Although is a bit empty inside in regards to exhibitions, but pretty nice otherwise.

Rabati Castle is absolutely stunning — a mix of history, culture, and architecture all in one place. The complex combines a fortress, mosque, church, and museum, showing the diverse past of Georgia in one view. The stone walls, towers, and courtyards are beautifully preserved, and the views from the top are incredible. It’s one of those places where every corner is worth a photo. If you visit Akhaltsikhe, this is the highlight — especially around sunset when the castle lights up and the atmosphere feels magical. 🏰🌅🇬🇪

Rabati Castle was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would definitely recommend adding it to your itinerary if you’re in the region. What makes it special: • Breathtaking views: The castle sits on a hill with panoramic views of Akhaltsikhe and the surrounding landscape — truly spectacular. • Rich history: With centuries of layered history, from Ottoman to Georgian influences, it’s a fascinating place to explore. The museum, the mosque, the church, and the fortress walls all tell different stories. • Beautiful architecture: The restoration was tastefully done — a blend of medieval, Eastern, and modern elements. It’s a great place to walk around, take photos, and soak in the atmosphere. • Relaxed vibe: There are cute cafés and shaded spots where you can enjoy a coffee, lemonade, or snack while taking in the scenery. Worth planning ahead: We took a Bolt taxi from Borjomi (about a 40-minute drive), but discovered that Bolt doesn’t work there for the return trip. We were lucky to find a cab while walking toward the bus stop, but it could have been stressful — especially since we had another activity planned in the afternoon. There’s a public bus that comes about once an hour, but if you’re on a tight schedule, I recommend pre-arranging your return transportation.

Definitely worth 20 GEL to get the full experience. Beautiful interior views with many steep stairs to navigate. Did not partake of the optional extra audio guide.

Visited this castle as a part of a group tour to Georgia. It's an interesting monument with many architectural buildings located inside. The fountain was my favourite as it was also related to our guide whose grandfather was a part of the mechanical engineering of the fountain ⛲. Overall the place is beautiful for photography but we did not have much time to walk around the fortress walls. There is a restaurant and a hotel on the premises.

Ancient Ruins
Vardzia is a historic cave network in Georgia, known for its 12th-century monastery, frescoes, and halls. It was built by King Giorgi III and expanded into a cave monastery by his daughter, Queen Tamar. The site housed around 2000 monks and served as a spiritual bastion of Georgia and Christendom's eastern frontier.
Visiting Vardzia was an unforgettable experience! This incredible cave monastery complex carved into the cliffs is truly awe-inspiring. Walking through its tunnels and chambers, you can feel the weight of history and imagine life centuries ago. The location itself is breathtaking – dramatic cliffs, stunning views over the valley, and a deep sense of peace and mystery. I was amazed by the scale, the architecture, and the atmosphere. Vardzia is absolutely a must-see in Georgia – a magical place that leaves a lasting impression.

Very good place and well run. Just loads of hornets! I loved the natural springs giving drinking water. Also the bathrooms are very good. Bus is a must take in the heat!

A great experience visiting Vardzia! We took a day trip from Tbilisi. It stopped at a restaurant right across the cave city for lunch and then we went through with the tour. Very well organized, clean and well managed. Our guide was phenomenal (it does make a huge difference when you have a passionate guide!). It took us about 2 hours to go through the cave city with stops here and there. Some passages were steep and narrow so definitely not for the faint hearted. However, the city, the history, the view - it was absolutely beautiful! I would not miss Vardzia when visiting Georgia! Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful few hours walking around here as the say was coming to an end. Such an amazing setting. It's only 16GEL to get in and is well worth it. Be ready for the initial 15 min walk uphill before arriving at the complex. If you are tall, it can be tough on the back on exiting as the stairs go down a low tunnel

Vardzia – April 2025 Group: 2 families (2+2 and 2+1), children ages 5–8 🌄 Experience Summary Visiting Vardzia in April 2025 was a truly memorable experience, even with occasional light showers. This cliffside cave city along the Kura River is unlike anything else, blending history, architecture, and adventure. Exploring the labyrinth of tunnels, rooms, and chapels felt like stepping into a different era, captivating both adults and children alike. The kids were fascinated by the hidden passageways, while the panoramic views of the river valley offered plenty of “wow” moments. Even in damp conditions, the paths were safe and manageable, making it an engaging and educational outing for families. Vardzia is a perfect spot for families, cultural travelers, or small groups seeking a hands-on historical adventure. ⭐ Highlights & Recommendations • Wander through the cave network to see how the monks lived and worked centuries ago. • Visit the Church of the Dormition to admire the centuries-old frescoes. • Pause at cliffside viewpoints for sweeping vistas of the Kura River valley. 📝 Tips for Visitors • Wear comfortable shoes with good grip—some steps and paths can be uneven or slippery. • Plan 2–3 hours to explore the site fully (we needed 3 hours), depending on how fast your children move. • Supervise children carefully near cliff edges and steep stairways. • Bring a light rain jacket if the forecast calls for showers; outdoor sections can get wet, though caves provide shelter. ⚠️ Constructive Feedback / Things to Improve • Narrow stairways and tunnels can be tricky for younger children, so assist where needed. Part of the exit tunnel can also be challenging for anyone with lower back discomfort. • Some signage could be more detailed or offered in multiple languages to enhance understanding.

Caves are a bit on the homogeneous side in that they all pretty much look the same. One notable exception is the interior church, complete with paintings of Queen Tamar and some interesting bells located outside. Lots of steep stairs to navigate, so folks with mobility issues will be challenged. Make sure to pay the extra 2 GEL for the optional van ride up the hill.

Ani Ruins, located in Karsi, is a site steeped in ancient mystery and history. Once one of the largest cities with a population of 100 thousand people, it now stands as a beautiful but enigmatic place to explore. Visitors have reported tales of hauntings and strange creatures that have added an air of intrigue to the area.
Abandoned, bitter, mysterious, you are mesmerized by so many feelings while visiting this place. The ruins of Ani, where a river separates Turkey and Armenia, is one of the places you should see while you are alive. If you go in winter, dress warmly, it gets cold.
Adnan K — Google review
Ani is a very special place and being there was a very intimate experience of history and culture. I'd been to other live museums but this was my favourite. Well worth the trip.
Barbara M — Google review
Beautiful ruins, however it could be better looked after. Lot of litter and graffiti, presumably from visitors and the restoration workers. Support beam in one of the churches had fallen down. Considering the €8 entry, the information boards were pretty limited and appeared to minimise the Christian/Armenian heritage. The site is supported by the EU and UNESCO, so you’d expect it to be in better condition. Instead of completing the urgent structural repairs and site maintenance, they have prioritised converting one of the structures into a functional mosque. Still an amazing site and well worth a visit! 🇹🇷
Eva H — Google review
Amazing and extensive ruins with a deep history. The area is fairly large, and worth walking at length, particularly to see the Honents church, citadel, and area along the striking green river canyon that forms the border between Turkey and Armenia. A little bit more signage or maps would be helpful, particularly for a non-Turkish speakers. It was also unclear how the golf carts that take some tourists around work and there was no audio guide in English available. Some parts were under renovation. Still, worth exploring.
Kerry M — Google review
Unbelievably beautiful Armenian ruins where few visitors venture. Can see the Armenian border on the other side of the canyon. Truly special place.
Michele F — Google review
It was very interesting. You can get nice views. We went in winter. It was interesting to see how different cultures and time frames left a mark in this area. It must have been quite the metropolis in its time.
Sofia H — Google review
Ani is one of the most incredible places I've ever visited. It's an ancient city with a rich and complex history that you can feel as you walk through the ruins. Often called "the City of 1001 Churches," Ani was a major capital of the Bagratid Armenian kingdom and a key stop on the Silk Road in the 10th and 11th centuries. It was a thriving city with a population of over 100,000 at its peak, and you can see that grandeur in the remains of its impressive churches, mosques, and city walls. It's a shame that for many years, stones from the city were sold off, so much of its former glory is gone. But it's great to see that restoration work has started in recent years, and they are working to repair the large structures that are still standing. What makes the site so special is not just the history, but the location. Ani is situated on a plateau, and on one side, there's a deep, dramatic canyon formed by the Arpaçay River, which separates Turkey and Armenia. The view is absolutely breathtaking, with the ruined buildings perched right on the edge of the gorge. Walking around and seeing the blend of nature and history is truly a magical experience. The stone carvings and architectural details on the remaining buildings are stunning. You can spend hours just looking at the craftsmanship. Despite being in ruins, Ani is a deeply moving and beautiful place that everyone should see. It's a powerful reminder of how civilizations rise and fall, and it's a window into a fascinating period of history.

Batumi Botanical Garden, established in 1912, is a vast expanse of greenery that offers guided tours showcasing its diverse subtropical plant collections. With over 5,000 varieties of flora from around the globe, it boasts an impressive array of Asian trees, South American flowers, bamboo forests, evergreen gardens and titanium trees. Nestled within the beautiful Mtsvane Kontskhi area, visitors can bask in the sun or take a refreshing swim.
It's a beautiful garden. It's better to go early in the morning. It will be harder to leave. You can walk for hours and admire the beauty of Japanese trees. There are a lot of people and Arabs. Only 1 cafe with huge prices. Take food with you. There is an exit to the beach. The beach is great but there are no changing rooms and toilets. The toilets in the garden are terrible.

Incredible botanical garden. You could spend an afternoon exploring it. Well worth the time and money. Well kept, clean, and beautiful. Very large. Expect to use the bus service within the park. There is also a fee to enter the park and a separate fee for the bus service within the park. Costs more for foreigners, of course (one of the worst parts of Georgia is the foreigner fee in so many places).

A wonderful place to walk in the lap of nature. Tickets are priced at 20 GEL, which is a little steep. And if you need an electric vehicle inside, you'll have to end up paying even more. Plenty of photo spots along with some great views of the Black Sea. There's also an amazing zipline for those seeking a little adrenaline rush, but again it's a little pricey at 70 GEL. Be prepared to walk a lot, so wear comfortable shoes.

Amazing park with beautiful sea views♥️ There is an electrical bus that can take you one way through the park with an extra fee of 10 gel, takes like 15 minutes ride Pay attention that most of the park has uphill paths, we are with a baby stroller so it was a bit challenging so we took the bus and then it was nice

Honestly, I’m not a garden person, I usually prefer adventure and thrill over long walks and greenery. Most tour guides in Batumi don’t include the Botanical Garden, but we decided to visit anyway… and I’m glad we did! Yes, there’s a lot of walking (be ready for it!), but once you reach the top, the views are absolutely worth it — stunning landscapes and a gorgeous view of the Black Sea. 🌊🌿 My main reason for visiting, though, was the zipline....and oh my god, it was amazing! Totally thrilling, 70 Lari, and worth every step it takes to get there. You’ll feel like you’re flying over nature. So if you’re into adrenaline or just want some jaw-dropping scenery, this spot is a must. I went there just for the zipline, but ended up appreciating the whole place.

This castle, built in 1152 by vizier Firuz Akay by the order of Sultan Melik İzzeddin during the Saltuklu Principality, is a monument not only made of stone and brick, but also bearing the traces of history and emotions. Here are my feelings and thoughts while wandering around this fascinating building: When I started to tour the castle step by step, I was impressed by the atmosphere of this place intertwined with history. The solidity of its stone walls symbolized the power of time and the durability of this masterpiece created by human hands. When I walked in, I felt like ghosts of the past. All the events that took place here, all the words spoken here were felt as living memories in the marks on the walls. This castle is not just a structure, but also a personality that has witnessed the lives of many people. Saltuklu Sultan Melik Izzeddin's idea of having this castle built was perhaps a reflection of the power and magnificence of his time. Timur's destruction, III. Reconstruction by order of Murad, destruction by Shah Abbas I of Iran and subsequent repairs; all these reflected people's devotion to this castle and its historical importance. While visiting the castle, I couldn't stop myself from thinking about the flow of history. All the events that took place here and the efforts spent to repair this castle help us understand the history of humanity. People fought, repaired and rebuilt to defend this castle. This castle represents the resilience and determination of humanity. Castle walls are a place where history speaks loudly. The coldness of the stones makes this structure, which has been the silent witness of centuries, even more impressive. Walking among these stones feels like a meeting with the past. It seems like there is a story under every stone, a period of time hidden behind every wall. This castle, like time itself, is a monument that bears the traces of past experiences, and witnessing this monument was a magical experience for me.

Koeyaa — Google review
Wow wow wow!!! This is a must if you visit Kars. Allow 90 to 120 minutes to wander around. Take a camera and snap away. We visited in January 2022, and there was snow on the ground. There is a little tea shop at the top, but although it was open, we did not grab anything to drink/eat. It got really cold when the sun set. There are toilets available. All photos shown were taken on my phone.

An old fortress that sits on top of a hill. A short 5 minutes uphill walk will bring you one of the best views of the modern city of Kars. It is free and open to public.

Argo Cable Car

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Argo Cable Car, also known as the Batumi cable car, is a popular tourist attraction in Batumi. It takes visitors to the top of Mount Anuria, offering breathtaking views of the city and the Black Sea. The cable car journey covers a distance of 2.5km and reaches a height of 250 meters. At the mountain's summit, there is a cafe and a square where visitors can admire panoramic scenes of Batumi and the picturesque Black Sea.
We went on a rainy day and it was still great! Beat the crowds and got some nice photos. Very easy to buy tickets. If there is a long line at the counter you can buy tickets online. All cable cars in Georgia have been really nice and worth checking out.
Sarah G — Google review
The Argo Cable Car provides a lovely journey, but I highly recommend planning your visit around sunset to get the best experience. If you go during the middle of the daytime, the view from the top is pleasant but not spectacular. However, if you wait until nighttime, you'll only see the beautiful city lights, and you will completely miss out on the gorgeous photo spots at the peak which require daylight. The best time to go is definitely just before sunset. This allows you to catch the golden hour views, take great photos at the top, and then stay long enough to watch the city transition into a sparkling blanket of lights as darkness falls. A quick note on the other two package tickets/add-ons they offer: as an adult, I did not find them worthwhile or special. I recommend sticking to the standard cable car ticket.
Iqram A — Google review
Definitely worth visiting! The views are amazing, and the price is very reasonable. Sunset is the peak time, so the lines can get a bit long, but they move quite quickly. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.
Austeja M — Google review
The price vs value wasn't there for this cable car compared to others we rode in Georgia, at USD$12.30/pp particularly considering that the view wasn't clear. If the air is really hazy, the view from the top isn't good. The ride is fast and smooth. The bottom operator guy would not let us wait for a car to ride alone (and there was nobody else behind us.) It worked out for us in the end as a hat was left behind in the cable car and one of the other passengers gave it to the top operator guy. When the other people saw us they communicated that it was there. And the hat was very much needed that day! There are clean bathrooms up top, as well as a souvenir shop and a cafe/restaurant and an ice cream stand. We didn't eat up top, so nothing to review on that. The tiny chapel was peaceful, and there was a great breeze just outside the chapel (on the right) by the edge of the trees. Security scolded and stopped multiple tourists sitting on the edge of the circular fountain that looks like a sailboat. There is a swing for photos that was tied (to not move much) that had a net to catch anyone who fell off so they didn't fall down the face of the hill. It was below "ok" in my opinion, and overpriced for the view.
Just M — Google review
The cable car ride was very different. Instead of hoovering over the trees and mountains, this ride is mostly on the city with great views of the port on one side and the mountain on the other. The weather was overcast during our ride, so we enjoyed a lot. Once you reach the top, there are some restaurants, gaming arcade (tickets to be bought at the ground counter). There was also a stand for Minimelts that the kids enjoyed a lot especially their new kiwi flavor. Overall, it was a great experience.
Osayed R — Google review
Though a somewhat pricey activity, the cable car is a fun way to see the city, and the views from the hill are unmatched. On a clear day, you can even see the snow capped peaks of distant mountains, and of course, all of Batumi is visible from up there.
Matthew U — Google review
This is a must when in Batumi.! The cable car costs around 32 lari would take you on a 10 minute journey to the top of a mountain where you will have a breathtaking view awaiting you.! I recommend to go just before sunset so you get to see the city at its best. There’s also a museum, restaurant and a live show at the top so you can spend a nice evening here.!
Dr M — Google review
The Argo Cable Car in Batumi, Georgia, is a must-do experience for any visitor. As you ascend, you’re treated to stunning panoramic views of the vibrant cityscape, the serene Black Sea, and the majestic surrounding mountains. The ride is smooth and peaceful, offering a unique perspective of Batumi’s charm from above. At the top, you’ll find a viewing platform perfect for photos, a café to relax in, and even a small chapel. Whether you’re a nature lover, photographer, or just seeking a memorable moment, the Argo Cable Car delivers a truly breathtaking experience.

Very beautiful and peaceful place. Perfect for walking. The boulevard is full of people enjoying their time, playing, walking, biking, etc. Very clean and well maintained, the greenery is beautiful and the playgrounds are nice. The seaside is nice and most of the attractions are within the boulevard or nearby.

This is without a doubt the heart of the city. It's a beautiful and huge wooded park that stretches for 7 kilometers along the Black Sea coast. It is the perfect place to stroll at any time of day, whether for walking, running, or renting a bike. It's clearly a meeting point for locals and tourists, always full of life. The place is very well-maintained, with various modern sculptures, cafes, and fountains. An essential and relaxing walk.

Batumi Boulevard Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the city, stretching along the Black Sea coast. Originally established in 1881, it features palm trees, sculptures, bike paths, cafes, and plenty of spots to relax — making it a favorite among both locals and visitors. Personally, I really enjoy spending time here, especially in the evenings. The musical fountain show adds a special charm and makes the atmosphere even more enjoyable. It's a perfect place for a peaceful walk, watching the sunset, or simply unwinding by the sea.

It's also connected to the 6 may park. There is a little japanese garden in there. Gelato shops, bars, coffee places and the best doggies in the world are all summoned in this park 🫠

The Double Minaret Madrasa, a stunning example of 13th-century Seljuk architecture, stands as one of Erzurum's most remarkable landmarks. This impressive structure features two soaring fluted minarets adorned with vibrant blue tiles that catch the eye from afar. The intricately carved main portal leads visitors into a serene courtyard lined with columns, where a grand 12-sided domed hall awaits at the end—believed to be the resting place of the madrasa's founder.
It is a wonderful building that smells of history. It is amazing that it is used as an educational center and the structure inside is still preserved. It is impossible not to be impressed.

Twin Minaret Madrasa The Twin Minaret Madrasa, located in Erzurum, Turkey, is a historic Seljuk structure built in the 13th century. It is believed to have been commissioned by Hundi Hatun in 1253 during the Ilkhanate period. It takes its name from the two magnificent minarets above the entrance. The madrasa is one of the most important examples of Seljuk architecture in Anatolia and is notable for its stonework. Originally used as an educational center, the building now serves as a museum. Its architectural features and ornamentation attract the attention of history enthusiasts.

Beautiful place although I wish they could explain more about the building, the different figures and symbols that you see in the main entrance and inside the building. At night is also very beautiful but they need to provide more information on the building. There is no entry fee and they are closed on Monday.
JR S — Google review
Those 26-meter minarets are the stars here. Slender yet imposing, their layered brickwork feels graceful, while bands of blue, green, and sienna tiles—studded with geometric stars and flowers—glow even on gray days. Up close, the left minaret’s base wows with twisted vines and tiny rosettes, carving patterns that flow into its curve. The right has a sharper spire, the left a softer slope, balancing perfectly. I circled them for 10 minutes, snapping shots—their look shifts with light, from bold to mysterious. Not just tall—true art.

Uzungöl is a stunning lake nestled in a mountain valley, featuring a charming village with hotels and shops. It's easily accessible from Trabzon, taking around 2.5 hours by car. While it's not recommended to visit during winter due to accessibility issues and many closed shops, the summer offers breathtaking views and pleasant weather. Visitors suggest booking accommodations in advance and bringing supplies from outside the area as things can be expensive with limited services.
It’s a beautiful place, but only for a short visit. I don’t recommend eating in the area—the quality is poor and the prices are extremely high. It’s worth visiting just for the experience; it feels like being in an Arab country.
Mariya — Google review
Uzungol lake is very pretty, surrounded by many halal restaurants and hotels to stay in. You even go glamping around, do some hikes in the area or take a long drive around. There are many picnic places on the way so you can stop on your way and enjoy a little picnic
Shiza S — Google review
Uzungöl is a priceless natural wonder located in the heart of the Black Sea region, about 100 km away from Trabzon, in the district of Çaykara. Nestled in a valley where you can see every shade of green, surrounded by high mountains, the lake looks like a painting. On misty mornings, a light fog drifts over the lake, and as the day breaks it transforms into pure tranquility — truly the capital of peace and serenity. The lake is surrounded by lush forests, and the walking paths around it are both easy and scenic, perfect for nature lovers. The little wooden houses, local restaurants, and shops create a warm, village-like atmosphere within this natural setting. In short, it’s an ideal spot to escape the city and breathe fresh air. However, like a shadow over its beauty, there’s also the issue of “concrete development.” In 2008, a concrete wall was built along the shore, which some environmentalists criticize as a disruption of its natural charm. This has also contributed to the problem of “overtourism.” New buildings and touristic facilities risk damaging the organic character of the place, and unfortunately, this can affect the visitor experience. Still, despite these small criticisms, what makes Uzungöl special is the authentic experience it offers with its nature, silence, and local character. In summer, it’s ideal for picnics and walks; in winter, covered in snow, it turns into a magical landscape. Nearby, you can also visit Sultan Murad Plateau, Ataköy Waterfall, and Demirkapı Plateau, which add even more richness to your trip. In conclusion, Uzungöl is impressive both in photographs and in real life. It’s a place where you can connect with the peaceful face of nature and lose yourself in its pure beauty. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. But it’s also important that we all take responsibility, even in small ways, to protect the sustainability of this unique area.
Maksut C — Google review
Uzungöl Lake is absolutely stunning — surrounded by lush green mountains with mist often drifting over the water, creating a magical atmosphere. Perfect for photos, peaceful walks, and relaxing in nature. Cafés and small restaurants around add charm, but it can get crowded during peak season. A must-visit in Trabzon!
Amr W — Google review
Uzungöl is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in Turkey. The lake surrounded by high mountains and green forests feels like a completely different world. The air is fresh, the nature is peaceful, and the scenery is simply breathtaking. In the early morning, the mist over the lake creates a magical atmosphere that’s hard to describe in words. There are many nice walking paths, photo spots, and cozy places to enjoy traditional tea by the lake. There are plenty of restaurants around and the prices are reasonable. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway, a family trip, or even solo travel. If you’re in Trabzon or anywhere in the Black Sea region, Uzungöl is definitely a place you must visit! 🌿✨

08/08/2025 This place is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in my whole life. I went there in August and the weather was perfect. Make sure to wear something warm. Ask your driver to take you to the waterfall on your way there. When you get to the lake you can rent a bike for 10 lira/hour, or you can ride a boat for approximately 50 lira/20 minuets, and there is the parachute too, but it's expensive if you're with a big group (500 lira per person). I highly recommend going there especially if you're with your friends and have no babies.

Extensive hilltop remains of a stone castle dating back to the 8th century B.C.
A place full of history. The castle is still under archeological investigation, so some areas are not accessible. Entrance was free and open at any time. Enjoy stunning views from the castle.
ANASTASIOS T — Google review
In the 5th century BC, during the rule of the Persian satraps, a large number of guest inhabitants arrived in the city. Later, during the Sophene Kingdom, a significant guest population settled here. They maintained their own culture and traditions in Harput for centuries. The guest inhabitants mingled with the Turkish population. The city came under Turkish rule in 1085 during the Çubukoğulları period. From this date on, the guest inhabitants did not engage in any aggressive acts against the Turkish administration, and throughout the centuries of Turkish rule, there are no historical records of Turkish interference in the lives, traditions, or culture of the guest inhabitants. The guest inhabitants made significant contributions to the city's development and the architecture of Harput. The guest inhabitants now have a country of their own. You might have guessed by the "guest" I mean the people I'm referring to.

Harput Castle, located in the historic Harput neighborhood of Elazığ, is a majestic fortress that has stood for centuries, overlooking the surrounding landscape. Its origins can be traced back to the 8th century BC, when it was built by the Urartians to guard their land and trade routes. Throughout its long history, Harput Castle has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous empires and civilizations. It has been ruled by the Persians, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans, and has also served as the seat of power for various local dynasties. The castle is renowned for its impressive architecture, which includes a hospital, granary, mint, cistern, armory, mosque, and many civilian buildings. Its outer walls, though now in ruins, once formed a formidable defensive barrier. In addition to its historical significance, Harput Castle is also steeped in legend and folklore. One such legend tells of a king who used milk to mix the mortar for the castle's construction, hence its nickname "Milk Castle." Today, Harput Castle is a popular tourist attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's rich and complex past. Its ancient walls, hidden passages, and breathtaking views make it a must-see destination for anyone interested in history and culture.

Harput Castle, also known as Milk Castle, is a castle located in the historical Harput neighborhood within the borders of the current Elazig province, Turkey. It was built by the Urartians on a rectangular plan. The castle consists of two parts, internal and external. According to legend, a scarcity of water and abundance of milk during its construction meant that milk was added to the castle's mortar, leading to it being sometimes called "Milk Castle". There was no entry fee. They are still digging the remains of some areas. Would advise to wear closed shoes especially sneakers or mountain wear. It is a hike. Not good for strollers. Well kept maintained . Amazing view. Must visit location. It made me wonder how would they fight all the way up those mountains with the outfits when I could barely carry myself.

The Diyarbakır Grand Mosque, also known as Ulu Camii, is a significant Muslim religious complex with a rich history dating back to 1091. Situated in a city steeped in nine thousand years of diverse civilizations and cultures, the mosque boasts picturesque architecture and a large courtyard. Originally a church, it was converted into a mosque and is believed to have ties to Prophet Musa AS.
The Great Mosque was built in the late 11th century by the Seljuk sultan Malik-Shah I over an older mosque. According to some, it is the fifth holiest site in Islam after the Great Mosque of Damascus, which influenced its design. It can accommodate up to 5,000 worshippers and hosts four different Islamic traditions.

You see an architectural texture that has turned from a church to a mosque. As a photographer, I took shots according to certain positions of the sun, it has a very pleasant architecture. I didn't go inside so I can't comment on it. It is a building that you will want to take photos of as you pass by.

Ulu Cami, Grand Mosque of Diyarbakır is the former St. Thomas Christian Church, one of the oldest churches in history. The mosque is considered by some to be the fifth holiest site in Islam. The Great Mosque of Diyarbakir is the oldest and one of the most significant mosques in Mesopotamia. Every corner has a different architectural design. The columns on the second floor have a different design. It is phenomenal.

The Grand Mosque, Ulu Camii of Diyarbakir. Believed to have dated back as far as to Prophet Musa AS. It was formerly a church and later got converted to a Mosque. It is the 5th Holiest Mosque in Islam, having close to 7 Prophets and some Sahabis of Prophet Muhammed SAW worshipped here. The mosque complex also hosted the first universite established in the subregion. This complex hosted 3 empires; Roman, Selcuks and the Ottomans. This is clearly evident by the inscriptions found on the walls. There is also the world's first sun clock in the compound built by the father of Algebra.

Göbeklitepe is an ancient archaeological site located in the Sanliurfa region of Turkey, near the Syrian border. Dating back to around 10,000 BCE, this Neolithic structure consists of intricately carved T-shaped stone pillars believed to have served as a place of worship. Some theories suggest that it was a temple aligned with the constellation of Orion. The site features carvings of birds and animals on the pillars, offering a glimpse into early art and civilization.
The visitor center is perfectly done as a preparation for visiting the Göbeklitepe. I do admire how Turkey deals with such places! Since all historical landmarks that I have visited so far are very well organised and managed. The place is easy accessible to all kinds of tourists. There is a shuttle bus if you don’t want to walk in the hot.

Interesting to visit, you can see the works still going on. Incredibly old. Visitors center, 3d videos, impressing. Shuttle from the entrance to the site, every 15 min. Not really cheap, 21 euro but one time it's worth it

The massive monoliths rise with a quiet, almost solemn power, evoking reverence and contemplation. The monoliths’ scale, craftsmanship, and arrangement within their megalithic enclosures evoke a feeling both earthly and eerily otherworldly. The stones exude authority, standing as a testament to human aspiration, determination, ingenuity, and the enduring allure of the unknown. Here, time bends. The world outside feels distant, irrelevant. A palpable sense of mystery lingers, thick as morning mist, as if the stones themselves hold secrets just beyond reach. Every detail and decoration adds to the enigma, every carved surface and weathered edge tells a story older than memory; hinting at rituals, gatherings, and intentions now lost to time, leaving the imagination to weave its own narratives.

Göbeklitepe is honestly mind-blowing. You’re standing in front of stone pillars carved over 12,000 years ago — older than Stonehenge, older than the Pyramids — and you can feel how important this place was. The animal carvings, the perfect stone circles, the mystery of why it was built… it’s goosebumps stuff. Coming here with Turkish Airlines and GoTürkiye made it easy to experience not just the site, but also the amazing food and hospitality in Şanlıurfa. It’s one of those “humans did THIS?” moments I’ll never forget.

Göbekli Tepe – The Dawn of Civilization Göbekli Tepe, located near Şanlıurfa in southeastern Turkey, is considered the world’s oldest known temple, dating back to around 9600 BCE. Discovered in the 1960s and excavated in the 1990s by German archaeologist Klaus Schmidt, the site has completely reshaped our understanding of early human history. The site features massive T-shaped stone pillars, some over 5 meters tall and weighing up to 20 tons, arranged in circular enclosures. These pillars are carved with reliefs of animals such as lions, foxes, and snakes, symbolizing deep spiritual or ritual meanings. What makes Göbekli Tepe extraordinary is that it was built by hunter-gatherer societies, long before agriculture or settled life began. This suggests that religion and communal rituals may have been the driving force behind the rise of civilization, rather than a result of it. Today, Göbekli Tepe stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a monumental testament to humanity’s early creativity, cooperation, and spirituality — a mysterious reminder of how our ancestors sought meaning thousands of years before written history.

Göbekli Tepe is an ancient archaeological site in southeastern Turkey, near Sanliurfa. Large megalithic structures and circular enclosures featuring distinctive limestone T-shaped pillars, representing the world's oldest known temple complex, built by nomadic hunter-gatherers during the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period. It dates back to the late 10th to 9th millennia BC, with signs of human activity as far back as 11,000 BCE, predating Stonehenge by approximately 6,000 years. When you are told that it's older than Mesopotamia, you are impressed; when you see it with your own eyes - you are stunned!

My opinion.Must see at least one in a life time experience 15000 years old site is a Astrological clocks are time stamps. Highly advanced society, highly skilled engineering, logistics and ability to read stars we still are not able to.

This site has changed our view of history. Currently the oldest structures built by man that have been found on earth. This area of Turkey has multiple sites potentially going back 11,000+ years. There is an elevated walkway around the site that allows you to easily view it. Surrounding area is scenic, makes viewing the site even more dramatic.

The hospitality exhibited by the entire staff, with a special mention to the receptionist Mr. Mostofa, at Balıklıgöl Otel is truly remarkable and leaves a lasting impression. The level of professionalism displayed by Mr. Mostofa is highly commendable. It is worth mentioning that the hotel's location is convenient and the rooms are kept clean to ensure a comfortable stay for guests.
A very nice hotel with an excelent position near the city center. The staffs was very kind and helpful. We had a very nice stay here. Congratulations to Mustafa and the whole staff. Delicious Turkish breakfast 😍😍

It was a nice place to visit. The staff was so helpful, special thanks to Mustafa Bey in the reception.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. The photos are misleading. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I had seen the room before I paid. I made a mistake not to book another place beforehand and we had to stay here. Don’t get me wrong I am not a fussy person. I stayed in hostels before. I travelled with my backpack for years. As long as the ad is correct and the place is clean I have no problem but this hotel is not a 3 star hotel and it is not worth 600lira. The towels were stained and the shower was not clean. Entire floor stank. The breakfast was not good. The plates were dirty and the butter was left under the sun and melted so I didn’t even try. If you are too desperate and do not want to stay in your car you can go there and spend the night but no way pay 600lira like I did. There are lots of hotels in the area and they are pretty good for a little bit more money.

Mustafa and yunus was very kind and had good service. The hotel gave us great prices. The room was nice and the breakfast was good also. they also let us leave our bags on the day of check out. The toilet was a little broken hopefully they fix it later

Also I would like to mention one of the most kindest and helpful staff Mustafa he was amazing and does his job perfectly if you have any queries he will try his best and help you and provide you with useful information about Şanlıurfa as well!

Although a 3 star hotel, it's hard to say it is 3 star. Like poor WiFi connection, room is not really clean when we enter. Need a lot of improvement. Still very near to the our target place balıklı göl

The Hatay Archeology Museum is a must-visit attraction, showcasing a remarkable collection of local artifacts from ancient times. The museum boasts an extensive display of Roman and Byzantine mosaics, depicting nature and human life across different periods. Its colossal size befits the historical significance of Hatay, making it a unique destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors are captivated by the conceptualized rooms and sections, setting it apart from other Turkish museums.
Hatay has been a very important location in all its history which spans thousands of years. This museum with its colossal size is just a deserving place to house this history. With its amazing mosaic and roman collections, this museum is worth spending hours. The conceptialized rooms and sections are unique in Turkish museums.

Very nice museum. It has the biggest Mosaic collection in the world. Plan to spend at least 2.5 to 3 hours. It has a nice cafe to relax inside the museum as you exit. Parking was an issue for us. Besides the amazing mosaics spend some time at th sarcofagus section.

I couldn't imagine the amount of historical and archiological findings in this area. The museum was a trip to the history of the rigion. Amazing collection pf mosaic and marble sculptures. It is a must to see for Hatay visitors. Update: more sections are opened, and more mosaic is in display.

One of the great museums you can ever visit, huge and divers collection. Can't be missed if you in Antakya visting it is a must. However, it needs minimum two hours so make sure you have enough time when you go there.
Rawan T — Google review
An excellent museum with displays relating to all historic times. The collection of mosaics are incredible and there are some very well preserved sarcophagus. Well worth a detour to visit, also do not miss the the Hotel museum
Ray P — Google review
One of the very most important museum in Turkey. It represent the life of the caveman and the life of the mythological histories.. There are lots of articles and objects belong to that lifetime and history. Make sure you hear all the history of the items. Dont miss it.. Also dont miss the "live your life" Mosaic..
Kerem T — Google review
The museum was moved last year to here. Previous place of this museum was in city centre but not big enough but new place is more bigger but far from city centre. I love the chronological path in the museum first path starts with cage life of humans and ends with modern day. Mosaics are well preserved and mosaics were like photographs. The only disadvantage of this path I couldn't find path milestones as described it was complex for me to understand how designated path goes. I started area 1 and I found myself at area 13 after 30 minutes but I think that was my fault that's why I give 5 star. When you see 480p resolution mosaics you understand why I gave star.
Mehmet A — Google review
An impressive museum with a variety of exhibits about the area's very old history. I have been to many museums in Europe and this one could easily be in one of its capitals. The finds from the Hittite period are particularly impressive, as is the quality and massiveness of the mosaics from the Roman period. Worth it!

The Church of St Pierre is a significant historical site located in Antakya, Turkey. Carved into the side of Mt. Staurin and dating back to 1100 CE, it is one of the world's first cave churches and holds great importance in Christianity. It is believed that St. Pierre held the first religious meeting here to spread Christianity, making it a center of Catholicism and a pilgrimage site for Christians. The church also houses a museum and offers stunning views of the city.
Very old and historical church. Located on the hill so you have to walk to the top. The access if very easy. Actually, the inside is just a cave. I think the attractiveness is the rich-history behind this building.
Muhammad L — Google review
Claimed to be first cave church. Interesting to visit but not worth the fee of 8 eur.
Aleksey P — Google review
If you were expecting something incredible - you will be disappointed. If you were expecting something epic - this is not about this place. This is one of the places where Christianity was born, just a cave in the rock where Peter preached, just a place, beautiful in its own way, but these are definitely not the great churches of the Middle Ages. This is a greater place, one of which Christianity began.
Сергей П — Google review
This place, although is small, should be visited for the historical value that it has. As the first church in the world, and another historical site in a city that dates back to the first civilised city-states of the world. It is better to have the museum card as it gives access to all museums and historical sites of Turkey for 1 year.
W G — Google review
The church is a small hall in the mountain. You need to know a bit of history and significance of the place to enjoy the atmosphere, have a look at the city view and tolerate the groups of religious tourists ( not to mention a rather expensive entry fee) Take your time to go around the church (opposite direction of the main entrance). You shall find an amazing number of tunnels dug in the mountains and the figure carved into the mountain. Unfortunately, the path is not marked and cleaned, but it is definitely part of the amazing history where people had to prepare escape ways to flee religious persecution.
R S — Google review
Amazing place. Worth visiting in Hatay. Tourist fee 8 euro.
Ekaterina E — Google review
Nice place to visit, returning back to the Apostles time and feel the history. The entry fees is high compared with other museums.

Easily accessible and worth a visit, but only if you're passing as there is not a great deal to see. Do not miss the Hatay archaeological museum and the Hotel museum, they are a must visit!!

Nature is spectacular and the water is soo refreshing. The place is nice, my experience with the restaurants there was not good at all, but the place is amazing
Hadi A — Google review
It might be a very nice place to see but the scene yaş been blocked and turnet to a mess by the cafe's and restaurants which are very worse, untidy and the roads are very bad and dusty. I thing the whole area should be taken under the control by the Government, Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality, otherwise and at the present state, it is shame of municipality.
A T — Google review
Amazing place, the food and Nargila is not that good there, you can have a table in the cold water, near the water falls and enjoy the nature, there is also a small market were you can buy some good gifts , the place there is full of cars especially in the weekends you give your car to someone to park it for you and then continue walking to the cafes. Most of the cafes there serve wine and raki. The prices is fair.
Wajeeh D — Google review
It was surely an amazing piece of nature but the waterfall ways were filled with mass of concrete and dozens of restaurants and vendors are now sorounding the water. Some restaurants placed their tables right into the water so you can cool yourself both drinking and having your feet in icy water. The overall concept is kinda vulgar, the trash around isnt being collected properly so you dont want to walk away from the main routes. The decoration of some places is quite absurd... combining everything... Anyway it was a nice walk and we cooled ourselves after superhot Antakya.
Lenka C — Google review
A place where you can spend a time in a lovely place with sound of falling water that surrounds you.. belive me you dont wanna miss this one. Ow by the way you can also buy some souvenirs there...

Visiting the Monastery of Saint Charbel is an unforgettable spiritual experience that left me deeply moved and inspired. Perched amidst the tranquil beauty of the Lebanese mountains, the monastery is a place of profound peace and holiness, offering a sanctuary for prayer, reflection, and connection. The atmosphere is imbued with a sense of sacredness. As I walked through the grounds, I felt a deep connection to the life and miracles of Saint Charbel. The modest yet beautiful chapel invites visitors to pause and embrace the stillness, while the surrounding natural landscape enhances the serenity of the experience. One of the most powerful moments was visiting the tomb of Saint Charbel, where many pilgrims come to pray and seek blessings. The sense of devotion and faith in this space is truly moving. Whether you come seeking miracles, healing, or simply peace, the monastery offers a refuge from the noise of daily life. This sacred site is not only a testament to Saint Charbel's legacy but also a reminder of the power of faith and humility. For anyone visiting Lebanon, the Monastery of Saint Charbel is a must-visit destination that will leave your heart full and your spirit renewed.

Words can't describe the feelings of that holy place, whenever you are feeling down or in need for an escape from your everyday life problems, or even asking for spiritual help , you just can go there and find your answers. It's is a big place, well maintained, well organised, safe , clean , quiet , beautiful, and helpful staff. It is a must visit for everyone, from different spiritual backgrounds, it's a historical and a remarkable place in the Life of Saint Charbel, you can visit all year around. Definitely will keep going back here.

A truly beautiful Monastery . It is a peace of heaven on earth and a brilliant church. Actually you have 2 churches, the old one is small and a new big one.The people are warm and inviting. It is a great blend of modern worship and older hymns, as well as in depth preaching and teaching every Sunday. Very special event every 22nd of the month. This really is the crowning jewel of any visit to Lebanon. A must visit. May saint Charbel bless you all.
