Serengeti Park Hodenhagen absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had an amazing time exploring the self drive safari. It's incredibly well organized and gives you a rare chance to see exotic animals up close from the comfort of your own car. From giraffes walking past our windows to rhinos grazing nearby, the whole experience felt like a mini African adventure right in Germany. What impressed us the most was how smoothly everything ran. Entry was well coordinated, the drive-through routes were clearly marked, and there were friendly staff around to guide and assist if needed. The animals appeared healthy and well cared for, with plenty of space to roam. But the fun doesn’t stop there. The amusement park section was a fantastic surprise. There’s a great mix of rides and attractions for both kids and adults. The park is clean, spacious, and offers a lot of variety to fill the entire day. Overall, it’s 100% worth the visit, especially for families or anyone looking to do something unique over the weekend. We left with so many great memories and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

We went for the Halloween special and we really enjoyed it. It wasn't too busy, and not too scary. We were able to enjoy all the rides without a wait on most occasions. Unfortunately, both rollercoasters were not operating, I dont know if this is normal for the winter months. We stayed in a safari comfort lodge, which was clean and perfect for the three of us. It was quite small, but we were only in there to sleep. The accommodation is immediately next to the park and restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in our package. We didn't have time to experience the safari park this visit. We will definitely be returning next year.

An interesting park with a lot of different animals. My recommendation is to go through the park in your own car instead of the bus, as it is really safe and better for seeing the animals. Touring by car takes about 2–3 hours, after which you can visit the amusement park within the same area and spend another 3–4 hours having fun—rides, winning teddy bears by throwing into baskets, food available around. There is also a place where you can feed and pet goats, sheep, and llamas, which is truly wonderful for animal lovers. Overall, a very nice experience and recommended.

It is a really great place for a whole day family trip! The safari part is incredible, we were on our own car and haven't regretted it. You can see animals really close, they have plenty of space and look really healthy. And we loved the amusement park! Surprisingly there were almost no ques, we didn't have to wait more that 5 mins for a ride. Top place, highly recommend!

One of the best Safari park in northern Europe ! Very large, organised, clean and must visit. The rides are also a bonus and included, if you want to cover both I recommend to start early spend 09.30 to 12.30 at the safari, have lunch and spend rest of the day at the rides. The rides are for all age groups and parking facility is quite good, so can easily walk around. There is also an indoor play area for younger kids. Overall can easily spend a full day with family having fun and good memories !

We had booked the Tongasoa lodges. What they don't tell you is there is a hard deadline for check in. The reception closes at 7pm and they were available until 8pm for late check in. The keys and the room no. information are all provided only at the reception, if you come late, we aren't sure where you will need to spend the night. We were very lucky to have caught them just when they were locking up and they were kind enough to help us with our checkins after their work hours. Apart from that everything else was really nice. They rooms were nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and all amenities were functional. The breakfast the next day at Manyara restaurant was just fine. If you are a vegetarian, you will be able to get sandwich and cereals and for vegan probably just fruits and salad vegetables. Safari the next day was really fun, we went with our own cars. The animals were very close and approached the cars. I thought I read you shouldn't feed the animals, but some of the cars in front of us were feeding apples, bananas and carrots and nobody stopped them. The amusement park was also fun, it came with the safari tickets, we didn't need to pay extra.

The castle impresses with its beautiful Renaissance architecture and well-maintained interiors. Inside, the museum offers a detailed look at regional history with modern exhibition techniques and clear descriptions. Interesting fact: During World War II, Celler Schloss was used as a refuge for artworks from major museums to protect them from bombings, adding a unique historical layer to its story.

Hundreds of years of history preserved in the old town. A renovated castle with the oldest theater stage in Europe.

We did a guided tour. She was amazing and explained everything really well. Enjoyed the parts we could see. She said that the chapel won’t be accessible starting on December until March due to reparations so take into consideration.

Visited Celle Castle in February and absolutely loved it. I didn’t go inside, but just walking around felt like stepping into a fairy tale. A charming stop if you’re in Celle!

Inevitably a very thought provoking experience. A very detailed museum with photos, video artefacts etc. Outside it was not fully clear where to go, take the free map. Nice to see Anne Frank's memorial, her story has moved me for over 50 years

Free to enter and walk around, the scale of the area is massive and you can easily spend 2-3 hours walking around. You don't truly understand the scale of the camp until you walk the grounds. Although none of the original building stand there are plenty of maps explaining certain areas dotted around the grounds. The POW cemetery is separate from the camp, roughly a 5 min walk and is now connected via a sand path that crosses the training area. All signs have an English translation and the exhibits in the museum also have English translations. There is a cafe and library on site, but I didn't visit.

The history in this memorial was extremely tough to see but important to know so the past will never be repeated

Poignant and moving. Very well narrated in the stories and pictures in the museum which is new. Camp site tells the story well although it is only the foundation now as it was destroyed at the liberation due to disease concerns.

Very emotional and at times hard to see. Important so learn what can sometimes happen if bad people are allowed to go too far

I really loved the Architecture of this beautiful train station. As it looks a small station but it has good connections with the bigger German cities. I wish I could had more time to explore this station. In future I’ll definitely like to explore this beautiful building which you can see in the photos. Best, Adeel

Hundertwasser was the name of the artist whose work enhances this railway station transforming it into a working railway station with an artistic flair. There are indeed many train connections here on a daily basis and the facilities here are very good.

Beautiful Bahnof 😍 Its a Royal railway station at Uelzen, beautiful architecture its an environmental culturally oriented! And for its beauty its one of the town’s most popular tourist attraction! Have wc, db service store, food stalls, everything as every bahnhof 🙌🏻

Hundertwasser's last work. Enjoy the miracle in real life, don’t hesitate to wait a little bit and be alone in every little corner possible. It’s living art in the real life, people are living and moving around. it’s natural, don’t be surprised. For us, it was worth waiting for another train to continue our journey.

Beautiful train station with a clear Hundertwasser touch. Certainly makes the commute through the station special.

Small station with a unique interior design akin to the Flintstones. The floor has an undulating design with matching wall design. Quirky and so not Germany. The cafe/bakery is large with many tables, ample space and with a clear view of the platforms.

As we missed the train we had two hours to loom round. It's a nice town.

2025.02.15: free to enter, half an hour away from Hamburg, by car. The area is huge, if you're planning to go through in detail and also read everything you'll need multiple hours to do that. The place has a special atmosphere where you can really feel the weight of the happenings of the past. Worth visiting.

I spent 5 to 6 hours here , totally worth the commuting to this memorial. Even on a rainy day, it was worth it, it actually gave a deeper experience. Very wide big place. Advise hearing the audios of testimonies and take some time for reading to emerge into it. Altought peaceful, heavy.

Very informative and eye opening experience. The premise is spread over a very big area. So be prepared to walk a lot in the open. Unfortunately we visited on a rainy day, so couldn't explore much of the ground. But exhibition is very informative with lots of original photos and documents. Entry and exhibition are free.

It's hard to rate a place so full of sad memories and dark times. But the place itself is quiet, somber, and very respectful of its history. The displays are thoughtful and deep. I was particularly moved by the albums that were about a single person. When you read them and realize that over 100,000 passed thru the camp, it's an overwhelming moment.

This concentration camp became a prison after WWII, before becoming an exhibition centre. Therefore, there aren't many original features of the camp which remain. There is a lot of learning material available in the exhibition space, with photos and information. You have to pick up separate cards at each exhibit point if you want to read in English French or Polish. The reception desk has a map which suggests a one hour or two hour route of the camp.

Free to visit. You can still feel the menacing atmosphere. Many old buildings still intact and the exhibitions were interesting with lots of old stuff from the camps.

Recommended if you want to know more details about the World War 2 and the life of prisoners in this concentration camp. We can only imagine the effect that it left on so many families.

My go to running route during my 1 week stay in Hamburg. I personally find this is the best place to run in Hamburg as it is uninterrupted and the whole lake clockwise/anticlockwise is about 4km. For runners, most part of the runs are on trails but they are use granites etc. Entire stretch of the lake are well maintained and three are many ducks and swans around. Would suggest going early morning as the whole place will be crowded late afternoon onwards.

The Alster Lakes area is absolutely dreamy. It's a great spot to watch the sail boats, the ducks, the people out for a stroll or a run. I sat on one of the benches for a bit and then walked into the city from there. What a treat for people living or visiting that area of the city. I enjoyed it so much that I booked a boat tour of both the Inner and Outer Lakes today.

Outer Alster Lake is the larger one of two artificial lakes, which are formed by the Alster River and are both located within the city limits of Hamburg. Its shores are used by the inhabitants of Hamburg for many sport and recreational purposes, such as sailing and rowing.

Well -maintained and iconic lake in the centre of the city. Cruises will take you around for magnificent views. The promenade has an open art gallery

Going down to the lakes you pass the most picturesque designer shops, cobblestone pebbled streets, a lovely music school, and lush green all over the surroundings

Alster Lake one of the sight seeing in hamburg , its give life to the place , its in the center of hamburg , it give you felling of relaxation , peace , i walk around the lake , see swans and light of the city , boats , the boat trip takes aorund 1 hour , its gorgeous ... Recomended

Hamburg is rich in trees and beautiful gardens, and in addition to those resources, has some marvelous parks. The Stadtpark stands out — acres and acres of green spaces, trees, well-tended flowers and shrubs, with beautiful, quiet walking trails going all through the park. On the beautiful May evening we walked in the park, blackbirds were singing loudly, making the whole experience enchanted. As the friends who took me to the park said, "This is the green lung of our city and we intend to cherish it for that reason."

Great park for families! The huge water play area kept the kids entertained for hours. Lots of space to run around, clean facilities, and plenty of shade for parents to relax. Perfect spot for a summer day out.

Beautiful huge park! It was raining on that day, but still really enjoy to walk around. There are so many photo spots and places to go, but I only can explore a few of it: the lake, boat riding place, playground, and rose garden. I love to watch the ducks swimming around 🥰. Can't wait for the sunny day and bring my picnic mat!

It's a proper park! I'm not deducting stars due to the constant landing planes passing overhead. The poor fountain penguins should not be kept in a cage though 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧

This is a large, open park on the north side of Hamburg's city center, integrated into the urban landscape without big gates or fences. Many people come here to jog, walk, or walk their dogs, or cycle. The park also offers several restaurants and small cafes for relaxation. You might even spot a street performer playing the trumpet. if you like, do not spare your coins! The best part is the non-artificiality. There are no neatly paved running tracks, only wide paths covered in fallen leaves, with the smell of earth and moisture. Dogs, especially large dogs, can have a blast here, running freely on the grass without leashes. Although Hamburg winters are often gloomy and sunless, the vibrancy of this park is truly therapeutic.

This park is absolutely stunning. Very well maintained. There is an amazing cafe that sells an incredibly taste iced coffee with cream. It's worth making a stop here on your way from the airport to the city centre.

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful place. I can't believe this was the first time we've been there, living relatively close, but I'm certainly planning on visiting more often. The park is large, and kept nicely, so much beautiful greenery and beautiful statues to look at. The graves are neat and tidy, many have flowers planted and it looks so nice while they bloom. The free roaming geese are an added attraction. A truly wonderful place!

It was beautiful walk, lushes greenery. Lot of history here. The walk was amazing saw many mushrooms and plenty of wild life, and some amazing tombstones. Wild life i encounter was: Ducks, hawk, mice, frog, rabbit, and bunch of other birds.

Friedhof Ohlsdorf is breathtakingly beautiful and a visit is highly recommended. As it is the fourth largest cemetery in the world, you could easily spend days looking at everything there is to see here.

Huge site. Very well kept. Can get lost very easily in here but the scenery is unmatched. I would suggest exploring it by bike. Have fun but keep in mind it's a cemetery so be respectful when passing through newer sections.

Huge, beautiful rural cemetery, wheelchair accessible, seating available I cannot say "I've seen it all" but I tried. On foot, by bike and by bus. This rural cemetery rather seems a park - and that was intentionally done so. It's too large to see it all but with its distinct parts, the old Corde's and the 'new' Linne's one, Ohlsdorf cemetery is definitely worth several visits. Important people of and for Hamburg are buried here, the different tombstones and mausoleums are impressive. A mass grave for the bombing victims of Operation Gomorrha, British Commonwealth War Graves, Resistance fighters, the rose garden, the women's garden, it's so much to tell. You need to explore it on your own!

One of the finest, beautiful and huge cemetery I've seen / been to. Beautiful landscape, well organized graves with proper walking path. There are 12 chapels and 3 museum within the proximity, huge almost 400 hectares!

Ohlsdorf Cemetery in Hamburg is the biggest rural cemetery in the world! Most people might not be keen on the idea of randomly going for a walk through the graves. But Ohlsdorf looks nothing like a regular, classic cemetery! There is nothing depressing or creepy about it. It’s just a beautiful, regular park where you can admire bright colored flowers, listen to chirpy birds and yes, pass by mausoleums, gorgeously sculpted statues and even visit a funeral museum. It’s one of the largest cemeteries in Europe, and is beautiful to wander around, if you have the stamina that is! It’s so large that there are multiple roads and access ways for you to drive through, plus there are two bus lines that circle the cemetery.

Nice place to relax, especially with children. It’s very warm everywhere, which makes it quite cozy. However, the whole experience is significantly affected by the following issues: • Mediocre food at best, for premium prices. Bringing your own food is forbidden, yet you’re expected to pay 10+ euros for a Currywurst and fries (“Sparmenü”). I wouldn’t complain if the food quality and taste were acceptable. • Changing is challenging. There are very few changing rooms, which are not practical for families. As a result, you may end up having to change in the open areas. • Too few lockers for valuables. By noon, I found all of them already occupied. Overall, I found that the experience fell short in a few areas compared to the advertising. It feels a bit run-down, yet you’re expected to pay premium prices. Around 100€ per day for two adults and two kids is typical.

Absolutely amazing! Thank me of the top indoor/outdoor pools in Germany. We went here expecting to just spend 2-3hrs. We ended up staying the whole day. Plenty of fun’s for the kids. The saunas are phenomenal. Highly recommend. Recommend bringing your own towels and robes for the sauna. But you can also rent them for a small fee.

Our favourite family place. Very peaceful during the workdays. Plenty of amenities for all. Clean and well organised. Personnel is friendly and very helpful. External pool is amazing during night. Sauna world is a great place to relax. Strongly recommend this place for families. Couples should try sauna world in winter.

Probably the best spa resort for families with small children. Suggested to come at the opening hours, tends to get very full during midday. Also, it is advised to order lunch before 12:00, because the wait times get long. Otherwise top when it comes up cleanliness and service.

Everything was ver nice! That is the most clean wellness center I have ever seen, of course we went on a Monday which is not so crowded but still you can see they take care of the place! The stuff was very polite and helpful and I loved how the place has so many different styles to relax! Also the price is quite fair for what you get! I am taking one star away because the sauna programs was like everything the same ,boring and never on time! We were there sitting and waiting for the people to come slowly and make the program! Also there was no rule for staying quiet as a result some rude people to talk o laugh loud and none of the stuff do anything! Bit annoying! And one more reason that the bar was a little expensive! I mean 2,40€ for a small glass tap water is waaay too much! Above all that was a place I highly recommend and you should try

Great little “village” of designer brands from all categories, dotted with coffee shops and ice cream parlors. The shopping selection is impressive and well-organized, with something for every taste and budget. Food wise, it’s functional rather than fantastic but enough to keep you going. Don’t expect a culinary highlight. A well-maintained and pleasant place for a day of bargain hunting (weather permitting).

Nice place....reminds me of Kildare Village in Ireland which is an excellent Outlet shopping experience. Some good dealson leather goods and clothes. Lots of hot dogs and beer as its Germany naturally but tasty!

I arrived early in the morning at Designer Outlet Neumünster, when all the shops were still closed and the place was quiet. The calm before the shopping rush gave me a chance to really take in the spacious layout and the modern design of the outlet. Located on Oderstraße 10, it’s about 45 minutes by car from Hamburg, and you can also get there by train from Hamburg Dammtor to Neumünster with a transfer, which takes around 1.5 hours. Even before the shops opened at 10 am, I noticed the huge parking area with plenty of spots, including premium and electric vehicle charging stations. The outlet hosts over 120 designer stores offering discounts up to 70%, featuring brands like Karl Lagerfeld, Woolrich, and Zwilling. I was excited to come back later and explore all the fashion, accessories, and more. The peaceful morning also gave me a moment to appreciate the cafes and restaurants that would soon fill with visitors. It felt like a perfect blend of convenience and style, making it clear why this spot is a favorite for both locals and travelers looking for great deals near Hamburg. If you’re coming without a car, the best way is to take the train from Hamburg Dammtor to Neumünster, then a short bus or taxi ride to the outlet. It’s an easy trip and well worth it for a day of shopping and relaxing in a clean, welcoming environment.

Designer Outlet Neumünster is a pleasant place to visit with a good variety of shops and a clean, well-organized layout. While not everything is cheaper than elsewhere, you can still find some good deals if you take the time to look around. There are also a few places to eat, which makes it easy to spend a few hours here. Parking is simple and convenient, which is always a plus. Overall, a nice shopping experience

I recommend a WHOLE day here. It's really worth seeing all the stores, we spent 4.5 hours there and it wasn't enough. Coach, Aigner, Joop Mixed with Levi, Marco Polo , Wrangler ... A mix of high end brands and affordable brands. Highly recommend 🥳

Supposedly a great show. Was supposed to be seated front and center but could not go to seat because our kid was asleep in his pram. After being told it was ok to seat somewhere in the middle, eventually got told off and had to go all the way up to the very back seats where it was very windy. Completely killed it for me.

Holsten Gate (Holstentor) is the trademark building of Lübeck. If you visit Lübeck, it must be the first place in your bucket list. After leaving behind the central train station or bus station, you will begin your Lübeck walking tour from here. Recommended!

The Holstentor is such a wonderful landmark which luckily survived to the modern age. The inside holds a nice little museum with different themed rooms and also a rather beautiful model of the medieval city.

A must see in Lübeck and a beautiful entrance to the old town. The Museum is small but also worth a visit if you have time.

It was an excursion from MSC cruise. We didn't enter the museum but walked around the city. It was so beautiful.

The architecture of this once church is beautiful. The copper roofs were exquisite as Germans moved away from wooden roofs.

Marienkirche St. Marien-Kirche Lübeck - Ev.-Luth. Kirchengemeinde St. Marien in Lübeck is a beautiful Protestant church in the city center, very big that you can enter for a fee or if it’s for prayer 🙏🏾 is for free! Totally recommend it! The lady in the entrance was super nice!

Saint Marienkirche has surprised me a lot! It's really amazing & great from inside & from outside!😍The ticket is 4€, but during a church service you can go inside for free.

life changing. the most beautiful building I have ever seen. and I have visited a lot of churches. though under renovation and with a pained past, this is a must visit for Luebeck. donations to the space are requested in the amount of 5 euro, and worth every penny. grandiose, colourful, full of life and death and it is all captivating. the organ concert I caught the tail end of nearly caused me a stroke - in a good way.

Amazing monumental church with a lot of other interesting things to see inside. I think it worth the price of admission (4 euro). It's a must see if you visit Lübeck and you are interested in history and architecture.

Marienkirche is the third-largest church in Germany, and one of the five large Gothic brick churches in Lübeck. The interior is stunning and learning the history of it was so interesting. During an air raid, a lot of the church was destroyed but it's been beautifully restored. During my time at the church, they were restoring another facade as well. There is a reconstruction of the Danse Macabre, and also some beautiful reliefs of the Last Supper and some statues of Mary, Gabriel, etc. I'm a huge fan of Bach and I was delighted to read that Bach may have come to Marienkirche to play the now-destroyed Totentanzorgel (Danse Macabre organ). I believe they also have services in Marienkirche, although I went on a weekday so I'm not 100% positive. Based on signage, I would say so. I recommend stopping in to learn about the history of Lübeck and the church, or even to sit in on a service! I'm going to come back perhaps to see the other four churches.

St. Mary's Church which was built between 1250 and 1350 is the third largest church in Germany. It and has always been a symbol of the power and prosperity of the old Hanseatic city. Entrance is ticketed, 4 eur per person but it is without doubt worth to enter and see its magnitude from every corner inside.

Hansa-Park was the 36th park I’ve had the chance to visit, which gives me a fairly solid basis for comparison. Unfortunately, it was also the most disappointing experience I’ve had so far. Right upon arrival, we headed straight for Schwur des Kärnan. After waiting for nearly an hour inside the building (often in complete darkness), we were finally informed that the ride couldn’t open due to an audio system issue. Although we were given the option to leave the line, we chose to stay, hoping for a quick resolution. Ten minutes later, we were forced to evacuate. The total wait time ended up being 1.5 hours… for nothing. But the most baffling part came next: as soon as we exited, the ride immediately reopened. Strangely, only around thirty people had been evacuated, allowing those who remained in line to board before us. As a result, we had to wait another 1.5 hours. This kind of partial and opaque handling of a technical issue is difficult to justify. Once an evacuation is decided, it should apply to the entire queue—without exception—to ensure basic fairness for all guests. In other parks, such inconveniences are usually compensated with priority access or a return ticket. Here, nothing. Three hours of waiting for a coaster, with no communication and no goodwill gesture. It left us feeling abandoned. Sadly, this was not an isolated incident. The park’s overall management seemed to be struggling: very long wait times, rides operating under capacity, understaffed teams (for instance, only one operator for the drop tower, compared to two or three in other parks for similar attractions), and a general atmosphere of unmotivated staff. For Schwur des Kärnan, we estimated a throughput of around 300 people per hour that day, even though the maximum capacity is closer to 450. The lack of additional trains was obvious, especially when the wait time exceeded an hour. Let me be clear: my 2-star rating is not a punishment for technical breakdowns themselves — these things happen — but rather for how they were handled. It’s the human decisions in response to unexpected events that make the difference between a well-run park and a poorly managed one. In summary, between the lack of information, inconsistent incident handling, understaffing, and poor attraction optimization, this visit was a major letdown. Loved this park. We had such a good time there. Two stand out coasters with amazing surprise elements. We got food from the restaurant and it was quite nice, though pricy as you’d expect in theme parks. That drop tower really dominates the skyline of the park, amazing views from the top and a decent amount of time at the top.

An awesome park with a high quality lineup of rides featuring the absolutely awesome Flucht von Novgorod & Schwur des Kärnan roller coasters which are absolutely must-do rides. Food is good and high quality, and the whole place is full of passion. Highlander drop tower & Nessie roller coaster serve as great supporting attractions. The park is very fresh and well-kept. The only downside is sometimes the queues for Novgorod & Kärnan can get a fair bit longer than for any other ride, but otherwise this is a great park. I'm excited for their new ride Cornwall Coaster coming in 2026

went there in the middle of august. long lines and waiting times for buying tickets and for the roller coasters. karnan and novgorod looked very scary but turned out to be nice experiences. the drop tower also has some gimmicks.

It's not the Phantasialand but it easily ranks #2 for me, and I love how it's right next to rh sea. The fireworks show was amazing. And maaaaad respect to the actress who did a 30 minutes show in a mermaid outfit in 2°C air! 😱

Great rides, a fun day out for a family

I gave them 5 stars many years ago but now took them down to 3 cause during the years things have slowly declined. Don't get me wrong, the hotels are super nice and the pricing is so good during the off-season specials, but... * there are smokers EVEYWHERE blowing smoke in your and your kids faces. * Arcade area forces you to have cash as you cannot purchase game coins with cards. * last but not least the Playpark is fun but very noisy and extremely overcrowded with very long queues and chairs that rip your pants. The people were also very inconsiderate and wont give others turns on some of the equipment. Ending on a positive (sort of)... The swimming area is still super nice, fun and clean. They have really good change areas and lockers, but extremely scary stairs going to the swim zone. All in all its still a cheap getaway for the family and you still get more than your money's worth.

Overall a good place for families with kids - even sauna is intended for dressed visitors. A little bit pricey and the parking is not included in the price.

Nice pools, djungel land had bad acustics. Nice apartments but the area was really boring. We had construction sights on both sides of the apartment. Would have been nice to know before we booked. Really hard sofabed.

UPD Anyway we decided to come by 14:30. It is good place inside: several slides, “lazy” river, big swimming pool, the little ones with warm water. There is a cafe and a shop inside, saunas. The good quality of service. All staff look like a qualified and pay very close attention to safety. The one moment which was not very good is the air temperature. Sometimes it is too cold, especially when the temporary staff (builders) (dresssed in the winter jackets) open the emergency exit door. Please pay attention: if you don’t want to pay for the towels - bring it from home. _____ We are going to come and relax here and the swimming pool is closed for half a day. So from 08.01 to 11.01 it will work from 14:30 only. And the children swimming pool and waves pool are closed too. The information about it is available only inside the Swimming pool. The google maps (which was updated a week ago) shows the swimming pool open. The same situation was on the official website.

All in all we had a great experience, the water park is amazing and there are plenty of things to do. I would suggest going when the kids are 3-4 years old, or older. We went off season in early spring, which were nice. Fairly crowded already, but i can only imagine how many people there would be during the season. All restaurant staff were friendly, but we had some run ins with the official resort staff, which just seemed to be annoyed at us being there. Its clean and well kept, great for kids. Way too few parking spaces of you rented a cabin, but all in all worth a trip 👍

Nice place overall, but expensive and very slippery

Pretty nice place with a decent variety of activities for children. A good playground, carousels and scooter cars for 1€ a turn. The Subtropichen Badeparadis was unfortunately closed during our stay, because of the pandemic, but the Dsjungelland (Jungle land) wasn't - which was a great succes. We didn't eat at the restaurants on site, but they looked mediocre and slightly overpriced, as expected. The cafés were mediocre and overpriced. The Dünenbad wellness swimmingpools were nice and child-friendly. Our room, which was 'am der Düne' was spacy and comfortable, however the floors were sandy upon arrival, which made us question the overall cleanliness. The area was lively, but not noisy, mainly occupied by families with pre-teenage children. We had a good time here, despite the weather letting us down for the stay.

The bridge is closed for pedestrians and cyclists for several months due to construction. There is a big bus that, free of charge, that transports you and your bike across. Hard to find the bus stop in Avendorf but it is close to the regular bus stop.

The Baltic Sea is on the right and the North Sea on the left — such a beautiful view, especially near sunset.

Beautiful bridge and place to watch ships, light towers, birds, and wind surfers. Sometimes you can even spot whales and dophins in the baltic sea.

Nice place for tourist to cycle pass for a photoshoot! Strong winds blowing yet an exciting journey to explore.

It's pretty much a pretty bridge. Careful! It's pretty windy, but that's pretty much what happens if you build a bridge over the sea. So as a cyclist don't complain, walk and enjoy the pretty view.

The experience is pretty nice, but the aquarium isn't maintained well, we had bugs all over us after the tour. It was very irritating.

A small aquarium with much to see, this busy attraction is priced perfectly for it's size. You'll need no more than an hour to go through or two if you want to take your time reading all the facts and information placed next to the exhibits. The shark tank is a good stop with a clear view of the mighty predators. It was busy and crowded when we visited in the summer but I would still recommend it to anyone who loves the sea life and what lays or lurks in our waters

This aquariums has a nice collection of fish but seemed pretty run down and in need of renovation. What we liked: there were steps for the kids to see into the fish tanks almost everywhere. Booking tickets online allows to avoid the line. The fish tunnel was nice. A good amount of explanation for each tank (not too much, not too little information). Free parking. What we didn't like: the toilets smelled, the shark tank was a bit sad looking, few opportunities to sit down and enjoy the fish from a distance.

With the entrance fee in mind, it's a bit disappointing. Yes, they do have a tunnel where you can see sharks and stingrays, and a huge aquarium with a big shark, but that's just about it. Everything looks a bit tired and worn.

They have actual sharks and a tunnel aquarium. Those are cool. But still it lacks maintenance and certainly not good enough for the 12 euro entry ticket we paid. Also note there were no English sign boards or descriptions for anything on display inside. Not a deal breaker for me but non-german speakers will be disappointed.

Would have rated it with more stars but the new experience of seeing tigers and lions is not good. There is very less chance of seeing those animals. Not from the bridge nor from the panoramic window. The good parts are the dinosaur forest experience and the 2 roller coasters for the thrill.

Hopefully this review can help the park make some improvements. The plus side is that you are able to get quite close to the animals and see savanna wildlife in a beautiful setting. The down sides are worth keeping in mind should you plan a family trip there. We stayed there overnight for a quite substantial amount of money for 2 adults and one 7 year old - approx 900 euros. Barely any staff available in the park. Poor directions and signage to drive around. Would be helpful to get a recommended order for the visit. And more info on the animals. In the tent, you are expected to wash, dry and put away your dishes with the threat of a 60 euro fine should you miss doing that. Empty your trash. Put on and take away your bed linen just to mention a few things that you would expect to be included when paying that much for 1 night. The food we ordered to prepare in the tent was bland. Compared to skanes djurpark in Sweden I would say you get much less for your money. I wrote a review for that too so anyone can check it out. It’s a pity because it’s such a beautiful sanctuary.

We’ve been to the park a few times and it never lets us down. The park is massive and there’s lots to see and discover. You can bring your own food or eat at the various points in the park dedicated to it, apart from the animals that stroll freely on huge terrains there’s also a big kiddy’s park at the bottom that if you go at the designated hours there’s a small rollercoaster and the water log ride included in the entrance price( that if you buy it online you save 30% off the price ) . Very recommended.

Great place. Kind and service minded staff. We rented a cabin for 4 days. Bring food whit you, if you rent a cabin. There are many picknic tables around the park. So you can bring food whit you on a daily trip also. If you rent a cabin gate close at 17:00 and you can't drive in or out. But you can walk around the park and some hours drive around. Great place for family. We was here in end of season.(October) a little cold, but it's was okey.

It’s a like in the wild experience. It’s really a big park so you’ll need to have your car to go around and see the animals, there are also places you can walk to see other animals. Better start the tour in the morning if you’re planning for just a day trip but they also offer accommodation for families. There’s also different activities for kids. 🫶🏻💕

Absolutely fantastic experience. The animals roam free and there are plenty to see. For me the highlight was the dinosaur museum! With a collection of real bones from the biggest dinosaurs, you get to feel small next to these huge creatures. Would highly recommend. And remember to buy tickets online

This was great fun! Saw the jousting and trebuchets in action and visited with the blacksmith and weaver.

If you're a fan of the Middle Ages, you've got to go there! Not only do they offer the wonderful recreation of a medieval village, with many houses and shops made with care from the overall architecture to the tiniest details, but you can also attend a tournament, visit an enchanted forest with truly amazing houses (that fit although they're 19C-inspired), and see Medieval machines they have built from scratch. As a bonus, the gift shop offers a Medieval beer they have also recreated and that is made to be palatable to us moderners. A truly wonderful visit.

Nice place to enjoy the technology and life-style from earlier days. The people working there really enjoy their job and it feels like becoming a visitor of the medieval. Great for kids and with a lot of opportunities to explore the world ages ago. German speaking at the entrance is not a problem.

We had a great day with our preteen kids. Lots of activities and you can try out many different things. Places to eat, to play, to explore and the staff is always there to explain and share stories. The knight games were awesome! We paid around 500 to enter, and afterwards we found it absolutely worth it. Recommend to come early though, as some of the main activities are timed and done once a day. Parking is free.

This is a magical place. I visited it as a volunteer and got to live there for a whole week like in the Middle Ages. I enjoyed the stay from my heart. Lots of time to tell visitors about medieval baking and show my craft and equipment, including the period appropriate sleeping quarter. Even when there was a slight rain, the areal with its reconstructed buildings was alive with the other international re-enactors who had joined to spend the week there. Visit this place when you are in Denmark. Especially if there is an event with many volunteers. And if you do, don't just walk through the village between the shooting of the trebuchet and the tourney. Go everywhere, try out the small ways, look in windows and doors and ask everyone you meet. All the "medieval" people there have interesting things to tell. They might even let you try out stuff. With children the Center can be a marvellous adventure if you go exploring.

Incredible place to visit. Must see! Come early to see it all: the trebuched shooting and the knight tournament! All is so well presented you feel the history alive around you. A very child-friendly place. I'll cherish this day there always.

Awesome experience! Went with my friends (all in our 20s) and it was great fun speaking to the people doing traditional crafts, seeing the trebuchet being fired and the jousting. I would have enjoyed if there was a schedule on when the different craftsmen were at their buildings though

It is a fantastic spot for a family day out. The kids absolutely love it, no question about that and there is something for everyone, regardless of age. From fun rides and playful activities for little ones to more thrilling attractions and relaxing areas for adults, the place offers an all rounded experience. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire day without getting bored.

It's an amazing amusement park and the rides are awesome. The food they sell is also great. There is also a relaxing place to eat breakfast or lunch near the ducks and fish

1. A bit too expensive. Differentiate between people taking the rides and those who just accompany them. 2. Many attractions were closed, and there was no info about it before er entered. 3. It's quite pricey - also with the golden membership card. 4. A bit neglected here and there. 5. What is that thing with farting in Bonbon Land? Is this really something that you can offer children in their spare time? (Show about farting, etc.) 6. Food is junk and expensive. 90% is just trash like slush ice, french fries, and coke. Besides: good size, quite many different places to play around, a lot of attractions where 3-4 years old can ride on, and rather friendly staff.

An interesting stop on the way to Møns Klint. An open cow farm with about 200 cows. We got to see how they live and petted some calves. There’s a boutique and a cafe where they serve ice cream with the milk from the farm. There were many flavors. The ice cream is a gelato style, so not very creamy but still quite good. They use premade ice cream mixes, add flavors and fresh ecological milk from the farm. Very well suited for kids. There are even mini tractors kids can drive around - super popular!

I cannot stress enough how incredible our experience was at Møn Is. Following our Airbnb host's advice, we skipped the grocery store and other stands, heading straight here, and we were blown away. The kids were entertained with toy tractors and cows, exploring the milking station, and getting up close with the cows. But the highlight was undoubtedly the ice cream itself; it was hands down the best I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough—do yourself a favor and make sure to visit Møn Is. It's an absolute must!

One of the best ice creams in the country. And I mean that since I love ice cream and I consider myself an ice cream expert because of the amount of ice cream I eat. And I don't say no for an ice cream so I can say I tasted almost all the brands available in the market here. So I can say that this ice cream is one of the very best. They also offer very different and yummy flavors. The price is also good. Then you can have a tour of the place while eating your big ice cream.😉

Excellent! I had to do the English audio tour with a Danish tour guide, but the facility is just amazing. The tunnels were a nice relief from the hot sun outside. I was able to lock my bike under a shelter, and the staff kept a bag for me so I didn't have to carry it around.

What an excellent experience, well worth visiting but take a guided tour. I was lucky and was the only one on the English tour and had plenty options to film a photograph thanks to my excellent guide Ulla.

A tour that is definitely worthwhile. Not only the bunkers and all the military equipment are worth the trip, but especially the dramatic history behind them. Under one of the most beautiful landscapes in Denmark, hides a colossal witness and actor of the Cold War. An absolute must for anyone interested in history. A guide leads the tour through the facility in Danish. An app allows you to follow the most important information in other languages.

Nice place which provides some insights into cold war military securities but maybe its not so aged anymore in the world of 2025...

We visited Stevnsfort a group of friends, took the special tour, and what an experience! Our guide Jørn Due was a great storyteller, and we had an amazing time around the fort and all the hallways and secret passage ways. A big recommendation to visit this place of Danish military history! 🇩🇰

Enjoyable little stop. There's the UNESCO site with a couple small churches and a stairway down to the beach (closed when we visited in March), where you can see the cliffs. A couple minutes up the coast is the lighthouse along with free parking and a bathroom. You can't see the cliffs from there but they have free binoculars to see around the area.

Small place with breathtaking viewpoints all along the clif. Just watch out, hardly any fences and the cliffs must be around 50-70 meters high. At the far end there is a rather large paid (5 euro, card only) parking from where its a 2 minute walk to the church and start of hiking trails along the cliffs

Visited late in the afternoon so there were not a lot of people around. The view of the cliffs were amazing from the old church. It's nice that they rebuilt the stairs with metal now but it is quite steep so need to be extra careful going down the beach. Happy to have found one stone with a fossil as well.

Great place to visit, the little church is funny looking and it is quite impressive to see the cliff face, even if it is really hard to distinguish the different layers. Be aware that access down to the beach is via a steep stair.

Beautiful place to visit. The history of the church is fascinating. The shoreline is very picturesque, a nice walk to the lighthouse. Recommend the restaurant by the lighthouse, but may need to book at busy times.

There is a beautiful walking path along the coast! The cliffs, lighthouse, fort and church were lovely in a bucolic setting.

As a history enthusiast, I was absolutely blown away by Roskilde Cathedral. This UNESCO World Heritage site is not just a stunning architectural marvel, but a living timeline of Danish royal history. Touring it with Ophelia Tours made the experience even more unforgettable - our guide Rene was knowledgeable, passionate, and made the entire visit engaging and fun. The cathedral’s sheer historical significance is staggering. It’s the final resting place of over 40 Danish monarchs, including Queen Margrethe I and King Christian IV. Walking through its chapels feels like stepping back in time - each one reflects the artistic styles and political shifts of the era in which it was built. From Gothic to Baroque to Renaissance, the cathedral is a tapestry of over 800 years of Danish history. The detail inside is breathtaking. The intricate tombs, the majestic organ, the soaring vaulted ceilings, and the peaceful crypts all tell powerful stories. I especially loved learning how the cathedral evolved over time and seeing how each generation left its mark - something you rarely get to witness so vividly in one place. Roskilde itself is a charming town, full of cozy streets, great cafés, and a welcoming vibe. It made the perfect day trip from Copenhagen - peaceful, beautiful, and rich with history. Highly recommend both the cathedral and Ophelia Tours. This was truly a highlight of our Denmark trip!

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Today we celebrate its 30yrs. Very much worth a visit. Roskilde Cathedral is one of the most meaningful places to visit in Denmark, see a thousand years of Royal history, architectural masterpieces and art. Parking: limited parking available, 2hrs free parking and there will be a charge after that. Toilet is available inside the cathedral Disability access: may be a bit challenging as most areas have stairs. A true marvel of a cathedral, a burial place for many Danish kings. We took a tour that took as to the cathedral on a bus. We arrived right before the opening, and the whole place without crowds that appeared a short while later. The place is rich in history but a tour guide really helps to appreciate that. Otherwise it may look like a regular church.

A really cool spot to learn more about the Danish royal family! It is like a museum where you can read about the lives of those laid to rest there. Beautiful architecture and artwork.

I live in Rome. Many people from all over the world come here. I know our beauties, yet Roskilde Cathedral is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's full of imposing, celebratory monuments. What you feel, standing there, is the solemnity of the Danish kingdom.

This cathedral is definitely worth visiting. The interior architectural is beautiful and this place holds so many of the kings grave and they are so beautiful!!! The entrance ticket is also more reasonable than the other places of interest...

Not far from the Roskilde Station. Going into Roskilde Cathedral feels like walking straight into the past. This is where Danish kings and queens have been buried for hundreds of years. You'll walk past royal tombs some in fancy and beautiful stone bed for a queen or king. The real "design" highlight is the royal chapels, which are like small museums themselves. Each one was built in a different time period, so you see everything from medieval wall paintings to huge, dramatic Baroque and Renaissance tombs.

At the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, you’ll see the real Viking history — quite literally in pieces. The remains of five original Viking ships are displayed here, each with its own story of sea voyages, trade, and warfare. There are guided tours and activities running throughout the day, so it’s worth checking the schedule when you arrive. The guide shares the fascinating history behind the five ships that were discovered just a stone’s throw from here, in Roskilde Fjord. For those feeling hands-on, there’s a small workshop where you can try building your own miniature Viking ship. The kids especially loved hammering and sawing away. I had signed up for the sailing tour, where you get to sail on a Viking ship and even help raise the sail as part of the crew. Unfortunately, only four of us showed up out of the ten tickets sold — the rain kept the rest away. Without enough people for the weight balance, the trip had to be cancelled. Safe to say, I was pretty disappointed — it’s not every day you get to sail like a Viking. There’s also a restaurant by the museum. I tried the Viking platter — decent, but nothing to shout about.

Not far from the Copenhagen, about 30 mins train ride. Just a reminder, you have to walk about 30-40 mins from Roskilde Station to the Viking Museum. Arrived at the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum around mid morning. There are two areas: first inside the agreat Hall, you'll see the five ancient Skuldelev ships in somewhat in skeletons forms. You'll feel a quiet awe just looking at their thousand-year-old remains. Second part is the outside where you'll see a beautiful place view with tons of boats. Tons of things to do outside, you can watch boatbuilders meticulously crafting replica ships in the boatyard. You can also sail out on the fjord in one of the reconstructed longships, sadly no more available slots for the day. If you have the budget and you'd like to fully experience, I suggest to pre book before going. Since we went during summer (end of August) you are allowed to climb aboard other replicas at the harbor, even try on Viking clothes. Overall it's a full experience.

One of the most important attractions and museums during the visit to Copenhagen (40minutes by train). Staff are so welcoming with smile. Cinematography short movie in many languages will help a lot to understand the museum. The workshops outside will show you how the V-boats were built. Don’t miss it

A world-class and unique experience which is a must-visit if you're coming to Copenhagen as it's brilliant and only a 30-minute ride on the train (which is cheap and very frequent). See several recovered Viking long ships, discover about the different types and how they were built and used and then see expert craftspeople making replicas for experimental archaeology - sailing them to see how the Vikings would have used them. You can also become part of a crew in a small longboat close to the centre. And kids can design and make their own boat in wood with hand tools. Free tours in Danish and English by students are good and friendly. The venue hosts special exhibitions downstairs in the main hall. Several places to eat and drink on-site. Medium-size car park. If walking from the town train station, it's a pleasant and mostly flat walk. The shop has lots of Danish culture things to buy as well as stuff related to the Vikings. All staff friendly and helpful.

This museum is an incredible place filled with authentic Viking ships, fascinating artifacts, and tons of interesting facts about the Vikings. Both children and adults will find plenty to explore and enjoy. During my visit, there was a blacksmith workshop where a skilled craftsman demonstrated traditional forging techniques. There was also a shipbuilding area where craftsmen were using hand tools to build seaworthy Viking ships — a truly impressive sight. For kids, there’s a small hands-on workshop where they can build their own miniature ships from scrap wood and test them in a water pool. There’s also a replica of a Viking household, complete with Viking clothing you can try on and a play area for children. The museum also has an excellent restaurant with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. And best of all — if the weather is good, you can join the crew of a real Viking ship replica and sail out to sea. An unforgettable experience!

I was a bit sceptical at first when i read its about one Viking boat restored. But there are 5 of them, and , whats more they have been fully rebuilt and are available even to step-in at the port next to the museum ! I learnt a lot from the short film in the museum. Go to the boat workshop at the port - they are just building a new boat, using old traditional tools, and you can chat with craftsmen. It was Worth a visit/trip from Copenhagen.

Roskilde Viking ship museum is a fantastic place. The museum has the excavated remains of Viking vessels, with activities for kids. Outside are reconstructed vessels and workshops where they are experimentally building new Viking vessels. Good facilities and cafes, free entry with a Copenhagen card and easily signposted from Roskilde train station. Well worth a visit.

The museum has some special exhibitions, and little by little visitors emerge into the artistic world. I enjoy the welcoming and warm of the staff members, and how kind they communicate with the customers but also between each others transmitting a nice feeling of a community. For some video projections more seats are needed as there was no space for everyone. The location is simply beautiful. Other than that, there is a big parking place also used by those going to the strand and not visiting the museum, and a small bycicle space.

If you love modern art, this is the place for you. Plus it sits in a beautiful surrounding, with walks around the lakes and by the sea. A lovely cafe is just a few hundred yards away with pizza, beer, ice cream and other refreshments. Spend an extra hour exploring the nature walks if weather permits. You may even be lucky enough to spot a troll on your walk!

The location, slightly away from the city center, adds to its unique atmosphere and makes the visit even more memorable. On top of that, the museum café serves excellent coffee, making it a perfect spot to reflect on the art and the overall experience.

A very nice contemporary art collection showing a large variety of mediums and subjects. They also include community projects and plenty of opportunities to rest and create. Family oriented and cozy.

Cool museum! Lots of modern and interactive art that’s fun to explore. Loved that you can actually engage with the exhibitions instead of just looking at them. The building and seaside location make it even better. If you are looking for a different museum experience this is a good option.

An interesting modern art museum by the coast. Not the most inspiring building on the outside, but good exhibits, café/restaurant and shop. Unfortunately, the day we came there was extremely loud construction going on. The museum gave cheap entrance and a free coffee because of the noise, but it would have been nice if they had stated the ongoing work on their website. Still a good place to visit and very nice food. Our highlight was the plastic ball pool for all ages. Lots of parking but unfortunately no electric car charging available.

Great visit from Copenhagen it got 1 train an 1 bus was very easy as the staff were very helpful on the buses… gift shop is great and the art work of course … beautiful grounds also
