Putna Monastery Museum is a 15th-century monastery rebuilt by Steven the Great, featuring a museum with historical relics and documents. The monastery holds great significance for Romanians and is the burial place of Steven the Great. It's a must-visit for history enthusiasts and religious individuals alike. The museum showcases centuries-old history through artifacts and maps, offering insights into life during Steven the Great's time.
Very beautiful monastery and a peaceful place.

I feel everytime that romanian roots are starting from here! For sure many people will say is not true, but it seems that also for others seems the same and they started Via Transilvanica from here, from the heart of Bucovina!
Mihai P — Google review
Very well maintained, one of my favorites historical monasteries in Bucovina. Small but very good museum. Impressed, a must see, although is out of the path of monasteries.
Lenush — Google review
This monastery seems to be very popular among Romanians, Moldavians and Ukrainians. We happened to be there on a Sunday right at the end of a mass. It was very interesting to see and feel the spiritual vibes. The architecture is different to the other monasteries in Bucovina region. This monastery is free of charge (no entrance fee, no parking fee and free toilet use) and has a big parking lot right in front with a fairly clean toilet. We loved to visit it a lot and highly recommend other travelers a trip to this magnificent place.
Lena T — Google review
It is an amazing place to visit, so clean and well organized
Rus M — Google review
It worth visiting if you are in both Ukrainian and Romanian parts of Bukovina. The oldest and most sacred Monastery in the region. In contrast to other monasteries the entrance is free, though donations are kindly recommended. It's a great place for both religious people as well as for history lovers. Local monks speak Romanian, German, Latin, Ukranian languages without difficulties and may answer all the questions. We spent few minutes on our way from Ukrainian Chernivtsi trough Carpathians and visit to Putna was a miraculously satisfying. Highly recommend visiting during working days, as during holidays and weekends crowds of visitors will deteriorate your comfort.
Ruslan C — Google review
The monastery not to miss when visiting Bucovina!
Radu C — Google review
Probably the most famous Moldavian monastery, very important for us, Romanians. Filled with history, place of burial for our beloved ruler Stefan the Great. The monastery is beautiful but not grandious I liked the old authentic church bells with inscriptions exhibited in the yard - a real sense of medieval Moldova

The dynastic church from the initial times Moldavia principality. There are several layers of painting. The ceiling is amazing with the sky and stars motives. The graves of founding fathers are also fabulous. The painting restoration must be lore careful not to be actually new painting.

Like any old building has a charm on viewers with its mystery brought from the ancient times. It was built around 1360 and belongs to BOR (Romanian Orthodox church)
Zumper — Google review
Old historical and religious building. I didn't like the restauration, it was lazy work they should have kept the original style and not replace lost pictures with night stars. Personally I loved it more unrestored.

Splendid!A magnificent monastery and also a very skillfull restoration.Unfortunately I haven't spended too much time there because,do you know, when I push ring-finger in the Holly-water it start to boil.I'm curious why!

This is the Bogdana Monastery in Radauti. It is an Orthodox Church with very nice views. It can be considered a very picturesque place. Once you enter through the gate, you will see the small church, which was recently renovated, and a few steps further, there is the big church, in which the actual church Programme takes place.
Andrei R — Google review
Like most old monasteries here, this has been recently rebuilt/refurbished. It was worth a short visit, but choose Sucevita , Dragomirnei and Moldovita for more architectural and historical value.

Dragomirna Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Medieval fortress & monastery renowned for unique, tall, narrow church, plus paintings & frescoes.
Awe-inspiring piece of architecture, I was both impressed and shocked when I saw it, it is stunning. It is in the same region with the 8 painted monasteries of Romania part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, so it makes a valuable addition to the monateries trip
Gicu H — Google review
This monastery took 3 decades to build in the 17th century. It’s the tallest medieval monastery in northern Moldavia and its height is clearly visible inside the monastery. There’s a long walk up to the monastery entrance and on one side you will see an apple orchard. In their shop, they sell some natural products. It’s stunning inside and is worth a visit!
Melanie E — Google review
The Church closes at 19.00, the front gates were open but, no one in duty at the kiosk to serve us as it was raining and cold, with no other visitors. The Church and monastery in general was very modern in appearance no traditional painting on the exterior of the church. It seems a modern renovation, very attractive and functional for the residents. A Nun appeared as we were leaving and ashes if we wanted to pay for her prayers, I said I was quite happy to pray for myself free if charge. Didn't manage to see inside the church as the place looked closed and it was cold wet day.
David C — Google review
One of the nicest monasteries of Romania. It is surrounded by a huge fortification wall. The church itself is also very big. The inside is rather impressive, but no photography is not allowed.
Andrei M — Google review
Very nice, calm and sensitively repared place. Still used by nuns, so please be quiet a DON’T sit on the benches and wooden chairs in the church! Your legs won’t fall off during the visit and it’s incredibly disrespectful!
Tereza K — Google review
Very nice place. Very silent and spiritual, even though I am not a believer. Interesting historical landmark and a nice souvenir shop. Recommend a visit.
Stefano A — Google review
Must visit when you are in the Suceava area. Well kept location with free parking. The internal decor of the church is unrivalled.

Dragomirna Monastery looks like a real fortress with walls that are quite tall. The church is very elegant even though its exterior is not painted. The interior is rich in color and there are a few old icons.

Cetatea de Scaun a Sucevei

Mentioned on
1 list
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Cetatea de Scaun a Sucevei is a restored stone fortress originally constructed in the 14th century and later destroyed in the 17th century. It has been meticulously restored in the 20th and 21st centuries, with a distinguishable white stripe on its walls marking the restoration efforts. The fortress offers visitors an authentic glimpse into its past, featuring a drawbridge, paved courtyard, chapel, and bathhouse that have remained intact for over five centuries.
This is an representative place for Suceava. There is no need to book the tickets in advance. It was renovated a few years ago and now it has that medieval look everyone wants. It is nice if you want to see something different or even if you want something educational.
Alex N — Google review
This is one of Romania’s well preserved fortresses. It is a beautiful fortress but the scaffolding outside greatly blemishes its outer appearance. It is on the outskirts of the city of Suceava and accessible by car. Free parking is on the premises and plenty. Bathroom facilities are available next to the ticket office and inside the fortress just to the right of the main gate. This is in high country so it can be cool and windy and it was when we visited. We went on a week day about an hour after it opened and had the place pretty much to ourselves. People with limited mobility will have a hard time here as there are lots of steep stairs and uneven surfaces, and not wheelchair friendly. Food choices are limited outside the fortress, so plan accordingly. Tickets can be purchased onsite with a credit card or cash. Not sure how fluent in English the staff is. One can spend as little as 1 hour or 3+ hours here. We recommend comfortable shoes (preferably not open toe). We liked our visit very much, so you should not skip it.
G M — Google review
Much improved comparing to a few years ago. Good use of visual technology, enhancing the visitors' experience, explanatory panels on the trail, rubbish bins installed, clean toilets. The interactive screen in one of the rooms is a great idea I think, very engaging, but I found the "tree" information a little confusing.
Mialicurici — Google review
A place full of history (that you can discover by reading the notes in each room) with a great view over Suceava. Depite being in renovation, you can still access it inside and visit the main points. If you have time, I recommend buying the ticket that offers access to both the Citadel and Village Museum.
Ana-Maria A — Google review
This fortress is not one of the best but it managed quite well, overall they did a good job with what they had. Good to bring the kids there are projections (in Romanian) and written descriptions in both English and Romanian. Also now it looks like they will reconstruct some parts of the walls.
Mariel P — Google review
If you’re in the area, this fortress is worthy of a visit. Tickets are sold individually or as a combination ticket with admission to the Bucovina Village Museum. They only accept cash or tickets can be purchased online. You’re given a thorough map which is easy to follow. Some steps could be a bit of a challenge for those with mobility issues. There are nice views of the area.
Melanie E — Google review
As of October 2025 when I visited the place, the ruins seem under extensive renovation, with scafolding, cranes and construction equipment covering most of the facade - which of course spoils the view as well as any imersion into the feel of the place. Try and check if this is still the case before planning a visit. An audioguide app is advertised all around the site, but I have unable to find the actual app anywhere. The roWikipedia.org page "Cetatea de Scaun a Sucevei" is helpful in understanding the evolution of this fortress throughout the ages (you can translate the page to any language).

Bucovina Village Museum

Specialty Museums
The Bucovina Village Museum in Suceava offers a glimpse into traditional Romanian village life through its open-air exhibits, including a wooden church, weaving house, and blacksmith's shop. The museum showcases the region's woodcraft, ethnography, history, and folk art. Visitors can explore traditional crafts and learn about the lifestyle of past generations in the area. The well-maintained grounds and buildings provide an immersive experience of rural Romanian heritage.
Picturesque museum very close to the citadel. Well maintained grounds and buildings, with staff who are friendly enough. The buildings give you a glimpse into what life was like in these parts years gone by. It is similar to the Lviv region in Ukraine which has a similar museum. It is not so big a site so you can take it all in over an hour to 90 minutes I’d say. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. I believe you can get a combination ticket at the Citadel. Best to park in car park opposite citadel if you are driving. Parking was free when I visited.
Legends L — Google review
The Bucovina Village Museum has 25 beautifully presented and furnished dwellings from a tavern, household (house, hut, stable, gate and fence to a bell tower. I enjoyed it all, but in particular the fabulous display of art of embroidery. It is just exquisite. The ‘Camasi si Podoabe Traditionale’ is on from 20 June to 30 September and is not to be missed!
Merinda H — Google review
A must visit if you are around, especially on beautiful weather. The first time I saw a museum with so many indoors decorations and traditions: a wedding, a funeral, a mother singing a lullaby to her baby. There is also a church and a barhe two places for socialisation in a traditional village.
Ana-Maria A — Google review
The museum offers a captivating glimpse into regional history and culture. The open-air setting provides an authentic backdrop, making you feel as though you've stepped back in time. The exhibits are well-curated, showcasing traditional homes, tools, and artifacts that paint a vivid picture of Bukovina's past. The layout is easy to navigate, making it accessible for visitors of all ages. Overall, the museum is a must-visit for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the region's heritage. Highly recommended for both educational and leisurely visits.
John F — Google review
5.10.2025 wonderful kept in shape, all explanations also in english or german, card payment possible, beautiful quiet green park
Stefan W — Google review
Great experience. As always, I enjoyed seeing old traditional Romanian houses. The ticket is 20 lei to visit both Suceava Fortress and the Village Museum. Just next to the ticket desk there is a toilet you can use free of charge. The toilet is very clean. You can park your car on the street not far from a cemetery. Usually you'll see a car park sign.
Marina T — Google review
If you are in Suceava, add this place to your list of visits. You can see (and feel) the past of Bukovina here: customs, home improvement and life, crafts and storage. It will be interesting for children to sit at their desks, which is history now. This place is worth seeing. In this case, all the houses can be bypassed in an hour or less. This museum is located next to the Throne Fortress. Therefore, you can see two attractions at once.
Irina L — Google review
The Bucovina Village Museum is a medium-sized open-air museum that showcases traditional houses and buildings from the historical region of Bucovina. Designed to resemble an authentic village, the museum features not only traditional wooden houses but also a variety of old wooden tools and machinery used by people in their daily lives centuries ago. The exhibits highlight the craftsmanship, lifestyle, and traditions of Bucovina’s rural communities. Many of the houses are beautifully preserved, and to make the experience more immersive, some interiors include mannequins dressed in traditional clothing and audio recordings that recreate moments from village life, such as a traditional funeral ceremony, giving visitors a real sense of the customs of that time. The Bucovina Village Museum is located very close to the Suceava Fortress, so if you visit the fortress, I highly recommend making another stop for one or two hours to explore this museum as well. It’s a great way to step back in time and discover how people once lived in the heart of Bucovina.

Humor Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Humor Monastery, a small 1500s monastery, is renowned for its vibrant interior and exterior frescoes. It is one of three churches in Europe with such colorful artwork, alongside Moldovita and Voronet. The monastery is currently undergoing repairs to both the building and surrounding walls. Despite this, it remains a quiet place for prayer and reflection. Access to the church is unique as it faces the front rather than the side, adding a personal touch to its style.
The monastery was under construction so the facade wasn’t visible, the inside was still stunning. However, the best part of the visit was the nun in the gift shop. She was not only incredibly sweet and welcoming, but also very knowledgeable about the faith, the saints, and the items in the shop. Her warmth and sincerity made the visit feel truly special. I left not only with a few meaningful gifts, but also with a deeper appreciation for the history and spirit of the place. A beautiful encounter I won’t forget!
Miruna M — Google review
We visited on a rainy Monday afternoon in March. Only a few people here, mainly outdoor maintenance crews. We found a sign mentioning to pay entrance fee inside the church shop, but the woman there sort of hid from us and would not communicate, possibly a nun required to not socialize (not sure). So we did not pay as there was no donation box or price listed. The inside of the church is stunning, paintings on every surface, but no photos allowed so we respected that. It seemed that most of the grounds were off limits at the time we visited. A good visit nonetheless.
GT H — Google review
Unfortunately, most of the exterior discovered by scaffolding (Sept2025) still impressive, and obviously necessary, was unable to find notification of the repairs until I drove there
Tim T — Google review
The paintings are less preserved but it is very nicely arranged . PS: there is also a tower where you can climb (it’s a little hard when u go come back) and have a nice view.😎

27/10/2025 Only the outside front of the building is accessible. The rest of the grounds, exterior and interior are under restoration.

"Voroneț" Monastery

Mentioned on

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Voroneț Monastery, founded in the 15th century by Stephen the Great, is renowned for its vibrant painted walls. Often referred to as the Sistine Chapel of the East, this stunning place of worship is adorned with intense blue frescoes known as Blue Voronet. The exact method of achieving this hue remains a mystery. Despite some exterior paintings being faded, the monastery's historical significance and positive energy make it a must-see destination in Bucovina.
Wonderful! One can hardly find the proper words to quantify the beauty of this monastery! Rightfully called “The Romanian Sistine Chapel” for the Last Judgment outside fresco, this 535+ year old monastery is one you must not miss, if passing by in Bucovina.
Marius T — Google review
I highly recommend visiting it, along with the Bucovina region, Suceava and surroundings. It a small but very beautiful monastery, very well taken care of. Was founded by Stephen the Great in 1488 after a victorious fight against the Ottomans. Its marvelous paintings got the monastery nicknamed the "Sistine chapel of the East"
Allen D — Google review
A beautiful monastery - definitely a must see for anyone in the area. Parking is 5Lei per hour but you can also park for free on the side of the road as you continue along the street past the monastery. You can buy souvenirs and snacks on site near the monastery.
Monika K — Google review
They’ve commercialized the soul out of this place. You’re forced to pay to park and then you walk on an alley filled with merchandise to get to it. They blocked the streets that allow you to get to the monastery without buying all the necessary things that they are selling there. At the gate, they force you to pay 10 Ron to enter based on the fact that it’s a UNESCO site. The tickets are bought inside a small store that becomes a zoo during the weekend. Nuns are focused on selling a lot of merchandise as if they are paid a commission. It ruins the whole experience and so totally not worth it. Especially since this whole experience wasn’t the same as early as 2-3 years ago. The church is beautiful with great paintings but I would never do it again. There are so many other beautiful places to visit in the area that don’t come with this experience focused on profits over faith.
Diana D — Google review
A must visit if you’re in Suceava. I visited 4 monasteries and this was my favorite. The place is well kept with lots of flowers (roses)surrounding the area. In 1488, Stephen the Great built this medieval monastery. There are stunning colourful frescoes both inside and outside the monastery. The west facade depicts the Last Judgement.
Melanie E — Google review
Truly beautiful monastery! although it is a 5 lei fee for students/children and 10 lei for adults, it is totally worth it to see the monastery. It is well taken care of, and truly a beautiful display of the Christian Orthodox religeon. Near the monastery you also have many shops, and places to eat!! The Monastery is very quiet, and perfect for prayer. You also get to see the famous “Voroneț blue” on the walls which is very special.

Neamț Monastery, dating back to 1270, is possibly the oldest monastery in Romania. Originally an isolated establishment, it became a community in the late 14th century and was owned by the Musati dynasty. The monastery houses one of the oldest painted icons in the Orthodox world, The Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus. Surrounded by a beautiful monastic settlement and close to a theological school, it offers serene surroundings for visitors. The onsite museum showcases ancient pieces and cultural treasures.
Beautiful monastery founded by Stephen-the-Great before 1500. Impressing, not refurbished as it is under the National Patrimony (!?). Not pet friendly.

While visiting the monastery I saw this starving sick dog. I fed him but he clearly needed some consistent help. I ask one of the monks if they would be interested in taking him on as a project. “No“. If no one was going to help him live, then he at least deserves a compassionate death to end his misery. The next day I drove to the nearest town and found a vet, Dr. Adrian at Farmacie Veterinarã. who would go to the monastery to put the dog down. Dr. Adrian ask if there was a contact person that would let him know when the dog showed up. I drove back to the monastery, spoke with the same monk, and asked if he would be willing to inform the vet when the dog was there. The response was “No“. I asked if there was someone else I could speak with “No”. I approached a couple of other monks: they had no desire to engage. I’m really surprised and disappointed by their the lack of compassion for another sentient being.

Can't wait to be back here, The monastery has a nice motel near by where you can stay and be close to walk by and enjoy the nature and all the churches in that area

The paintings and style of the Monastery is amazing! The "blessed corpse" found on their sidewalk is an amazing story. Sadly a part of the Monastery burnt, so some of the paintings are partially visible.

While driving to Neamt Monastery you first see a brightly painted church which is shown here as the avatar for this attraction. It's not part of Neamt Monastery. It's the Church of Saint John Jacob built and consecrated in 1997. You have to drive for another kilometer to reach the Monastery. The monastery was built in the 15th century. The interior frescoes are well preserved.

Neamț Citadel was amazing. Gets 4 stars since the dummies and exonates are just duplicates and some not very well represented. But yeah, nice walk and views and history.

Went first thing in the morning and within minutes there were literally hundreds of school kids enjoying their history. Castle itself is gorgeous but the inside leaves a lot to be desired. Almost none of the extensive boards of information are in anything other than Romanian and the exhibits are all reproductions and a tad hokey at best. Still worth a visit though. A word of caution if you wish to drive up there. The road is very narrow and cars cannot pass each other, which could lead to a very tricky situation with someone having to back up a long way so I would advise walking the few hundred yards.
Phil M — Google review
Long uphill walk and everything inside is written in Romanian, which pushes foreigners away from the main point of teaching them of Romania's history. Great views nonetheless and it's well kept.

Agapia Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Agapia Monastery, founded in 1927, is a beautiful and well-maintained religious site with stunning gardens. The museum inside the monastery showcases an array of religious objects, paintings, fabrics, and wooden sculptures. Notably, it also features works by renowned Romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu. Visitors can explore the neoclassical-style artwork and a museum dedicated to Grigorescu's work.
It is basically situated at the end of the road. It was a mid September day with the mist coming out of everything after a particularly heavy rein which added to the inherent beauty of the place. Aside the monastery, I would recomand not to miss Nicolae Grigorescu, a famous Romanian painter, lesser known for its religious painting. There is also a memorial house to one of the Romanian writers, Alexandru Vlahuta, in the vicinity. The house itself is an interesting stop, even if you're not familiar with the author, as the walk it takes you through the village houses, all inhabited by the monastery nuns population.

I recommend you visit the little museum to the left, 150m before the main entrance, the nuns there were wonderful and they really made you feel welcome to visit and ask about anything.

Beautiful and well maintained Monastery, a must see for anyone touring the Bucovina's monasteries. The paintings are by Nicolae Grigorescu, stunning beautiful.

Beautiful location and easy to reach this place. The Monastery had a special architecture, well-kept and maintained with great care. The souvenir shop very well stocked with religious books, hand-made sweets, and much more. Toilets available.
Liliana P — Google review
Beautiful monastery with well kept gardens. The artwork is less typical of Christian Orthodox artwork as it was done by Romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu who painted in a neoclassical style. You can also visit a museum of his work inside the monastery. Sadly you can't take pictures inside the church so the paintings can be preserved

Sturdza Palace

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Sturdza Palace, a Neo-Gothic mansion dating back to the early 18th century, offers guided tours and hosts frequent costume events. The palace is set in a huge park and is known for its beautiful building. However, visitors should be aware that the palace is currently undergoing full restoration, with scaffolding and nets covering the entire castle. It's recommended to check the availability and status of the work on Facebook before planning a visit.
Miclăușeni Castle is a hidden gem that transports you to a bygone era. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this castle exudes charm and elegance at every turn. The stunning Gothic architecture, with its intricate details and majestic towers, is nothing short of a fairy tale. The interior is just as breathtaking, filled with antique furnishings, beautiful artwork, and a sense of history that captivates you from the moment you step inside. Each room tells a story, and the knowledgeable guides are eager to share the fascinating tales of the castle's past. The surrounding park is a tranquil oasis, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Moreover, they have a boutique from where you can buy some nice souvenirs and traditional things made by them: jams, wines etc.

A really must see gem! The guide is really amazing storyteller. Unfortunately and luckily the palace is al under reconstruction and it will take 10 years to be completed. It’s still lovely to see and her the story.
Miriam T — Google review
I think it's still a beautiful castle. I say that because it is under renovation and access is restricted. I hope to go back and see it! The photos are from the monastery next door that was open.
Viorel D — Google review
Unfortunately the castle/mansion just entered into a long awaited process of restorating it's exterior. It's a shock the building still holds strong after all these years and the countless people that pillaged and miss managed it. Visiting it is still a great idea as well as eating at its own restaurant. Great food with local sourced ingredients and authentic recipes.
Octavian A — Google review
The tour inside the castle was nice, the guide makes you feel part of the story and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. You have the chance to freely walk around the castle gardens. Inside tour entry fee: 15 RON. Don't miss the lunch at the castle's restaurant 😁.
Dabiel R — Google review
Beautiful 18 century castle with neo-gothic style that mimic the western castles from Germany/France/Austria. It is placed in the middle of dendrological park (English garden) of several acres with beautiful and old trees (some of couple of hundred years old). On the property you can also visit a monastery or the boyard family cemetery. You can park the car at the entrance from the main road, on the access road or somewhere near the castle or monastery. You have guided tours every hours. There is also a restaurant with really tasty food/drinks made with natural and local ingredients ( I highly recommend the homemade ice-cream). Be aware that you cannot pay anywhere there with a card so bring your cash with you.
Țuțuianu C — Google review
The 3* are for the surrounding, the tour guide, and the outside of the palace. Unfortunately, the inside is in ruins. Almost all the decorations and furniture inside were donated to the estate. The originals were either destroyed or stolen. The good news is that they have found rehabilitation, which should be finished by 2026. The visit is done only in a guided group.
Andrei M — Google review
I was passing by and took the camera to take a picture or two. Other than that I didn't check the wider sorrounding area and someone told me there might be a nice water/river nearby. And I also didn't visit inside of the castle but maybe that's where the nice part is. The toilets were ok but no toilet paper when I went there. Also check the visiting times cause I overheard some people outside complaining about that there are strange visiting times for inside the castle if i remember or overheard correctly.

We were here for dinner today. I had a Black Angus burger with fries. The steak was perfectly medium and super tender. I followed it with a lava cake with vanilla ice cream, which was simply perfect. Kudos to the kitchen.

The only thing I was truly impressed by was Miss Ana-Maria, who served us at the table. She's the first person we've encountered who totally nailed the order, the banter, and all my requests. Hats off to her! As for the rest, the food was good, I didn't sleep there so I don't know anything about the rooms. Anyway, compared to the girl who served us, everything else just falls flat.

Very nice location, with a beautiful view towards 15th century Princely Court. The owners payed attention to every detail (from the trees in the restaurants' court to outdoor furniture, from keeping the historical architectural style to adding a modern touch to it). The food will make you enjoy every bite. Staff is friendly and efficient. Definitely a place to return to. Later edit: Fancy rooms, very clean. Personnel is always around, they offer to help you every time, although one does not need any help, everything runs smoothly by default.

"Cucuteni" Museum of Neolithic Art

Mentioned on

Archaeological museum
Museums
The "Cucuteni" Museum of Neolithic Art in Piatra Neamt is a must-visit for anyone interested in European prehistoric art, anthropology, or spirituality. It houses the most important Neolithic collection in southeastern Europe and features breathtaking artifacts that are representative of the Cucuteni-Trypillian aesthetics. The museum offers limited signage explaining the exhibits and unfortunately, some floors may be closed to visitors.
The museum is definitely worth visiting for anyone stopping by in Piatra Neamț. However, it is A BIG MUST if you are an artist or designer looking for inspiration and certainly if you're a history buff, even remotely interested in European prehistoric art, anthropology or spirituality. The displayed artifacts are simply breathtaking! Some of the finest exhibits, truly representative of the Cucuteni-Trypillian aesthetics.
Marius V — Google review
The museum is clean, but could do much more to bring value and provide info on the Cucuteni culture. There is no multimedia exhibit to show more about the culture, such a pity. The ticket is rather expensive for Romania. We really appreciate the civilization and exhibits. The lady is nice. The bank safe is nicer.
SVC — Google review
A special museum! Very well organized, the exhibits are very well distributed so as to attract the attention of the visitors. The guides are very well prepared and dedicated to their job so as to be as explicit as possible to capture the attention of tourists. They told us the story of those pots forged by those in the Cucutenian civilization. Very charming!
Ana-Maria S — Google review
Very interesting artifacts. Limited signage explaining what they are and where they were found. We were only able to visit two floors, the third - containing jewellery - was unfortunately closed to visitors.
Laura W — Google review
The museum is dedicated to Cucuteni civilization, wich lived around Piatra Neamt about 6000 year ago. Apparently, the Cucuteni people were geometry fanatics. They loved to paint triangles, circles, squares and other geometrical figures. They also seemed to be obsessed about female torsos. All the female statues displayed in the museum are very curvy, with small head and no arms. As far as I understood, the only artifacts left behind by Cucuteni civilization are the ceramic pots and statues exposed in this museum. The exhibition really worth visiting if you're around. If no one tells you how old the exhibits are, you might believe it's a modern art gallery.
Ionut S — Google review
"The cucutenians had the gift for pottery making in the highest degree, so that the question comes to our mind, whether if making and decorating vessels was not in fact their only reason to be. Even if not so, in the history of the human kind they will always stand as undefeated modelers and pottery painters. We are certain that the decorative cucutenian art was not limited only to pottery decorating, as some painted wall fragments suggest that the obsession for polychrome decorations manifested also in the constructions. Without any doubt the clothes and shoes as well as some common use objects were also richly decorated. Unfortunately, the only remaining witness for the cucutenian decorative works is the pottery. It is though enough in order to place the cucutenians amongst the most gifted and sophisticated European prehistoric art creators" - Dan Monah
Dan A — Google review
70% of the Cucuteni artifacts are in the museum. Impressive collection for a culture that is almost 7000 years old. I recommend it for anyone who is interested in the origins of Europe. This culture built large cities and were burning their homes constantly for funeral purposes or to be in order with the gods.

Arena Mall

Shopping mall
Shopping
Retailers, restaurants & a cinema round out the offerings at this 3-story indoor shopping center.
You don't need to be rich to window shop for things you need or just wanna get to have and use later. Very well maintained, security in every store and mall area. Pleanty of things to do for all ages from 1 to 101. Climate controlled and plenty of free parking.

The place is cleaned multiple times throughout the day, has good food and has enough space to not make you feel trapped.

Was there on Saturday. Food court is ok. You can even find a free table 😀 Toilets are clean. Parking is big.
M K — Google review
A good mall with a variety of clothing options, from Zara, HM, Pull&Bear. There are many food options as the food court is pretty big. There are plenty choices for those who love shawarma and fast food. There is a Pizza Hut for pizza lovers. Too bad the toilet is located only at the ground floor so you have to take the lift or descend the stairs if you are at the food court. Another bad thing about the toilet is even though it was pretty new it was very dirty. I went twice in 2 hours and nothing changed. It wasn’t even the rush hour or the weekend. So they could improve in that area.

Little commercial centre. Little if you compared with an European one, but big one on this area. You can find all type of European commercial centre comfort but smaller. I liked the cinema they have. On my opinion it’s pretty. The center have a toilet and a lot of Roumanian fast food and restaurants. Doesn’t suggested to visit during a Covid-19 for small corridor they have and for people who doesn’t respect safe distance o for those who doesn’t Ware a mask (they’re a lot). 4 stars just for covid safe guard, cause they doesn’t check body temperature as well. For shopping and anything else, a really nice place. I have just a single picture of the cinema. Anyway, enjoy shopping :)

A great experience, beautiful mine and very interesting church. Not many tunnels open for visiting, but in general, it's a nice place to spend the day with the kids. There's a free playground and the rest of entertainment is paid separately. We enjoyed it.
T M — Google review
If you're heading here, it's a good idea to pack some food in advance since there's just one cafeteria, and the few options available are pricey. Aside from that, it's a great spot to relax, with plenty of benches and tables, and the fresh, salty air is refreshing. I'd recommend it, but only if you bring your own food.
Daniela C — Google review
A unique and refreshing underground experience – but with room for improvement The salt mine in Târgu Ocna is truly an amazing place to visit! Once inside, you're greeted with fresh air and a surprisingly wide variety of activities — from playing chess and table tennis to even enjoying a game of badminton. It’s a great spot to relax and spend a few active hours underground. However, accessibility is a serious issue. Access to the bus that takes you into the mine is only possible via a long set of stairs. While manageable for most, it's unfortunately not suitable for people with mobility challenges, as there is no elevator or alternative access route. In this day and age, that’s a clear shortcoming. Additionally, the cafeteria closes already at 3 PM, even though visiting hours go until 5 PM. The souvenir shop also tends to close early. This gives the impression that tourists are not fully considered in the planning of services. With a few updates in accessibility and service hours, this could easily become a top-tier destination for visitors of all ages.
Andreea W — Google review
The salt mine is of medium size, not many things for adults to do- it's mainly child oriented as I am guessing families with young children come here. In the morning it is very busy, there are 4 buses in total which come at their own time (every time we went to the salt mine we just got lucky and the bus was there waiting already). After 1pm it is usually less busy, we were in a bus with just 4 other people. In the actual salt mine there is "go-karting" but it's just bicycles which you can pedal inside in a given course, 8 ball, other table games and a park for children. There is a cafe which serves warm and cold drinks as well as croissants and pizzas. It gets colder over time so please do dress up! The restaurant beside the mine is very friendly and light hearted. The menu is of a traditional style, however it is limited - the chef only makes 100 portions of every dish per day!
Bianca L — Google review
The mine is awesome, it's 240 meters deep, and the bus takes you down. Once you get there you will meet the church of St. Barbara, and continuing you will find a restaurant, a basketball and volleyball area, exercise equipment, tables all over the place so you can read, eat or sit and enjoy the mine. There are also various games for children to play. You will need to bring along jackets especially in the winter. The regular ticket costs 45 lei ,and the student ticket costs 35 lei. If you have not been to something similar it is worth a visit.

The Salt Mines in Romania –A Magical Underground Wonder The salt mines in Romania are truly one of the most unique and breathtaking places we have ever visited. When we first arrived, it was hard to tell where the mines were located. It looked like a small village with a quiet, charming café. Only when we approached the ticket booth did we realize that the real adventure was about to begin. The cashier gave us tickets for a minibus that took us deep underground. After about a ten-minute ride, we reached a large gate. What awaited us beyond was an astonishing underground world. It is difficult to imagine that such an immense and beautiful space was created by humans. The mine is enormous, with vast halls, high ceilings, impressive lighting, and many pleasant seating areas. The air is clean and dry, which is especially beneficial for people with asthma. It feels like a timeless world hidden beneath the surface. Children will find plenty to enjoy, including play areas, go-karts, and unique installations. The whole experience feels like a giant underground museum. It is authentic, peaceful, and not commercialized. It is highly recommended to bring a jacket, as the temperature inside is quite cool. The mines are located just a short drive from Brașov and are definitely worth visiting. It is an unforgettable experience for all ages.
Riki A — Google review
A really surprising place to visit and enjoy in the area of Targu Ocna. The salt mine is very large to walk around and there are plenty of activities to do. There are football, volleyball and basketball courts, table tennis, cycle karts, playground for kids, swings. Usually the mine is crowded for these paid activities. There are shops, tables to sit at, toilets. Interesting to find out that I have mobile network coverage. A wonderful church dug in salt in the shape of a cross is situated close to the entrance. I also saw a gallery of pictures with the mine history and the mining process, some old equipment for mining and a library. It was easy to park the car, enough parking places outside, the parking is free. The entrance fee per day is 37 ron for adults and 23 for children. To access in the salt mine is done with a bus via a descending tunnel of aprox 3 km length. The ride takes about 10mins. The mine is situated at -224m and the temperature inside is constant around 12deg C.

I loved this monument. The history that is told in the museum is brilliant. It was quite sad to see so many graves in the initial monument, but we paid our respects to the souls that have tragically died. One small complaint-it needs slightly more maintenance (also, the people working there are lovely).

A stop worth making at this Mausoleum. A place of meditation and remembrance of the sacrifices made by our ancestors in the First World War. It's a shame that the green space outside is not maintained, I remember that in other years there were many flowers, many roses dominated the yard.

An awesome place to visit. It has a very nice, dark, sad but patriotic history. I can only recommend going there and exploring every little bit of it. Remember, once inside just go up the stairs. It is easy to miss it and most people don't know you can go up.

Words or pictures do not make this place justice. You have to visit to truly feel the place‘s emotional power. These days, such places should show us even more that we should do everything in our power to keep the peace, in respect for our ancestors.

The Mausoleum of Marasesti is a breathtaking testament to Romania's rich history and solemn remembrance. Its majestic architecture and serene surroundings pay tribute to the valor and sacrifice of those who fought in the pivotal Battle of Marasesti during World War I. Visiting this sacred site is a moving experience, offering a profound glimpse into the nation's past. The meticulously curated exhibits and informative displays within the mausoleum provide insight into the courage and resilience of the Romanian people. A visit to the Mausoleum of Marasesti is not only a journey through history but also a tribute to the indomitable spirit of a nation.

Vulcanii Noroioși Pâclele Mari is a natural reserve known for its small volcanoes created by mud and natural gas eruptions, resulting in a lunar-like landscape. Visitors have described the fair entry price and the large parking area as positives, but some have noted the lack of proper toilet facilities.
Good place to go with the kids and see some interesting nature life. You can have dinner across the street, the food is good, the price is ok. Plenty of parking spots. If you want to see the volcanos you have to pay 5lei/adult and 1leu/child (i think under 5year). In 1-2 hour you can eat see and then go back home.
Bogdan V — Google review
Not crowded when we arrived and you can do with just an hour there. Definitely, the most impressive one compared to the others. It was easier to access as well, but you will need to pay an entry of 4 lei and if you park there will be a charge of 5 lei. There were some informational plaques as well. Definitely worth a stop if you can.

Great trip if You want to see something special. Educational especially if You go with kids. Entru fee 80 Eurocents for an adult. Parking fee 1 Euro.

Absoluty unexpectable experience. We went to the vulcanos at the start of october and we were completly alone. You can easily spend up to 2 hours if you want to. Walking around in the mud was calming, but going up the vulcanoes was quite challenging (it rained for 3 days straight befor we visited). Keep in mind that it can be very slippery, especially if it rained.
Jan G — Google review
I didn’t quite know what to expect from the Mud Volcanoes, but the place felt almost otherworldly. The cracked earth, the slow bubbling of grey mud, and the faint smell of minerals make it feel like stepping onto another planet. It’s oddly calming to watch nature doing something so strange yet peaceful. The walkways are easy to follow, and there’s a quiet charm to the barren landscape that photographs can’t really capture. A peculiar but memorable experience.
David P — Google review
The volcanos are out of this world, and this is definitely one of my top 3 attractions during travel to Romania. I've never seen anything like it. The tickets are super cheap, it costs only 4 lei per adult to get in. The parking ticket is 5 lei per car per day. Inside the park is a short path to follow with a few stops presenting interesting facts about the volcanos. Other than that, you are free to explore the land. You can't smoke or use fire anywhere in the park because of the gas that is inside the volcanos. The mud irritates the skin, so it's better not to touch it. If you plan to dine there, I recommend the restaurant Dor de Plescoi, which is located around 20 minutes' drive from the volcanos. Good food, fair prices, and excellent service.
Tomasz X — Google review
Go for the bigger ones — the Toad is better, and they have parking. The Vulcanii Noroioși are unique in Europe and definitely worth seeing once, but you’ll probably won’t feel the need to visit twice.

"Crâng" Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Other Nature & Parks
Sizable forest park featuring playgrounds, an artificial lake for boat rides & a large obelisk.
Crâng Park, in the city of Buzău, is a sanctuary of nostalgia and new memories. Located in the west side of the city, right next to Gloria Buzau stadium, this is a place where time stands still. Here, you can hear and see nature, and all the locals you meet have a story to tell. Walk along the long paths, marvel at the Obelisk, sit on a bench and put your mind at ease by looking at the beautiful lake, full of fish and turtles. Watch young and old couples stroll along, bring your kids to the playground, play some tennis, or even watch people play a game of chess. Enjoy the quiet and serene atmosphere and take it all in. If you're in Buzău, go to Crâng Park and take your camera with you.

I love the park as it is well maintained and offers you unexpected surprises like seeing a baby deer while jogging, unfortunately I could not take a picture of it as it moved too fast. anyway, the fountains from the lake makes people take out their phones for some cool selfies. it is a combination of nature and culture as here many events take place.

We really enjoyed our time at this winery. First of all the place is absolutely beautiful Michaela give us a very interesting and informative tour and knew how to answer every question. After the tour we tasted 6 different wonderful wines with cheeses and dry meats - on a balcony with amazing view And even the young ones got a taste of the place with a freshly squeezed grape juice I highly recommend this place
Rinat F — Google review
Wonderful winery with amazing staff. We made a quick stop here on our way to Brasov and even though they were supposed to close 30 mins after we got there the staff stayed back to accommodate our group with a quick tour of the wine making facilities and a wine tasting. Was amazed at the various varieties of grapes they grew on the property and how all of the wines tasted had clear characteristics and flavour profiles, thoroughly recommend a visit if you are passing by.
Angela T — Google review
Amazing place right in the middle of wine country. Lovely scenery, very friendly people and extremely good wine in a modern winery. You can take tours where you can see how the wine is made and at the end you can taste a couple of glasses of heavenly delight. The only bad thing is that somebody needs to sacrifice him/herself to drive and thus skip the whole joy because there is no accommodations on site and no bus/ train to the winery. All this considering i highly recommend it .
Radu — Google review
Despite the language barrier, the two girls who work here are very nice. We just arrived with no booking, and we opted for a tasting. The girls were very attentive and gave us the time and space to enjoy the wines at our own free will. Nice setting too. And the price is fair.. Not cheap, but not too expensive either. The only downfall is that they don't offer you any vegan snacks with the wines. Just meat and cheese. In 2025, when we're trying to encourage a healthier lifestyle, it would be good to have plant-based alternatives. Other than those things, very good.

"Ion Luca Caragiale" Museum

Museum
Specialty Museums
Full of history place. When you enter there you feeling like traveling back in time. There is a lot of personal stuff gained of Caragiale. I fully recommend this place.
Dan I — Google review
A small but verry pretty museum.
Sorana R — Google review
The museum has personal things that belonged to Caragiale, photos and costumes related with theatre plays. But it's an old fashioned museum, nothing interactive or multimedia, with sound, stories, screen plays... It should be updated and the house renovated. The house didn't belonged to Caragiale, it was the mayor's of Ploiesti.
Paula L — Google review
Caragiale never owned this place, but he lived in rented places for most of his life. The guide was very nice and there are unique pieces to see such as, allegedly, an original photo of Eminescu. The house is small but very nice.
Winged — Google review
Amazing staff! Great original pictures and documents related to the master. I left with a lot more information after: he never owned a house, always rented and had better grades in Maths than in Literature.
Julian — Google review
I liked the museum but it was a bit smaller than I expected,so that's why I'm giving it a 4 star rate, but everything else was really nice and interesting, because you can learn what he wrote and what were his teachings
Victor A — Google review
It would be a shame not to visit a museum dedicated to one of the most well known (and rightfully so) personalities of Romanian literature in order to learn more about Caragiale and his cultural background, his time spent in the city and even see some of his personal belongings.
Stroie R — Google review
A must see destination for those who enjoy knowing a bit of Ploiești's history. Ion Luca Caragiale was the nation's foremost playwright and short story writer and Ploiești was his stomping ground and inspiration for social satire.

"Snagov" Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Vlad the Impaler is rumored to be buried at this island sanctuary with a tiny, medieval-era church.
A nice small church, very beautiful inside. Located on island, you have to cross a bridge. To enter the church we had to pay around 2 Euros pro person. And you definitely have to go by car there - the buses take so long and don't seem to go regularly. From the church it's about 15 minutes to the next bus stop. On the territory there's just this church and a building under reconstruction.
Tanja S — Google review
To reach the monastery floating on the lake, we got out of the car at the bridge and crossed on foot. Perhaps because it was a weekday during summer vacation, we were the only visitors. The interior decoration of the monastery is in a style seen throughout Romania, and you can take photos for a fee.
Yasutaka M — Google review
Most beautiful site monastery. Vlad the Impaler is buried here tomb. You must go if your in the area. Very interesting and informative. The lady's there are very helpful. There is no fee to to get in only if you want to donate. The village people are very friendly.
Michael S — Google review
A visit to Snagov Monastery is more than just a trip to a historical site; it's a unique excursion to a place steeped in both spiritual and historical legend. A Journey to a Hidden Island Located on an island in the middle of Lake Snagov, getting to the monastery is part of the experience. The journey, often by boat, adds a sense of peaceful seclusion, making you feel as though you are leaving the modern world behind to enter a place untouched by time. The serene waters of the lake and the lush greenery of the surrounding area create a tranquil and beautiful setting. A Place of Legend and History The monastery itself is a beautiful and quiet place, with a solemn atmosphere that encourages reflection. It is famous for a single, compelling reason: it is the rumored final resting place of Vlad the Impaler. While the historical truth of his burial site remains a subject of debate, visiting the small, unassuming tomb inside the church is a powerful and mysterious experience. It is a moment where history and legend collide, and you can't help but feel a sense of awe. A Worthwhile Excursion Snagov Monastery is not a simple walk-up attraction; it's a destination that requires a bit of effort to reach, but it is well worth it. The combination of the beautiful natural setting, the tranquil atmosphere of the monastery, and the captivating legend of Vlad the Impaler makes it a fascinating and memorable trip. It is a highly recommended excursion for anyone with an interest in history, legend, or simply a peaceful escape from the city. There is strong energy felt inside the church

It has the tomb of vlad the impaler, worth visiting, always you walk all around that island its peaceful but prepare yourself to pay 20 lei for each person inside the church itself, also pictures are not allowed inside

walked through a bridge. Nice monastery to visit & walk around. Had a photo inside next to supposedly Dracula’ tomb.

Actual grounds, buildings externally and lake was nice to see, however at 20 LEI each to see the inside was expensive. Really not a lot here. There wasn’t much to see inside, def not worth 20 LEI !
Miss R — Google review
My first visit to Snagov monastery and it was a disappointment. I’m half Romanian and been in the country several times. This place felt abandoned and not treated with care. The inside is very nice to the eye, but no feeling of being an living monastery, it’s a museum and you pay to get in. The village kids spitted after me, either because I looked like a tourist or had my rental with Bucharest plate. The village is just tragic - living on a rumour that Vlad is buried there. When wanting to use the public toilet, a villager came out from it and locked it, told me water wasn’t working and it’s closed. Spending a day here if you have only a few is a lost day. If you have time go to the north, Sinaia, Brasov etc and experience Romanias better side. And please release the ostrich, its animal cruelty Vă rog, eliberați struțul de la mănăstire – e pur și simplu inuman și nu se simte bine.

Edenland Park

Park
Fun & Games
Woodland leisure park for cycling, horseback riding & rope trails, with lodgings in tree houses.
Very spacious and beautiful park that we found on google maps to our way back to Bulgaria. It have many activities for small and big. My 10 years old son was very impressed. We love the Edenland park very much. We enjoyed at tree coasts and we ate pizza, burgers and the most delicious gelatto in Romania - Vicecream. We will come back again.
Айлин З — Google review
It’s a big and beautiful park. Many activities and food courts. However, very expensive and everything cost money in a high price from the parking lot, the security guard checks your bag since it is not approved to bring big bottles of water, the entrance cost money, each activity such as playground for the kids cost money, climbing the trees and so on. The indices of drinks and sweets also very expensive. The climbing the trees activity is nice but not very hard if you are looking for adventure.
Meytal H — Google review
The worse rip-off we had experienced in Romania. You pay an entrace fee of 5 Euros, and then you have to pay again for every single activity inside! 9 Euros for a simple playground for our 2 year old??!!?! Where do you come up with these prices? You're not allowed to bring water for the kids with you, so they force you instead to pay 2 Euros for a small 500mo bottle of water inside! You hungry? Just grab a small burger for 11 Euros! What a joke! This is Romania, not Monte Carlo guys! Avoid this place if you care about your pocket, plenty of other parks in Romania that don't rip you off...
John S — Google review
It was a wonderful day in this park. Interesting and sometimes little bit extrem tree courses. It was good to all ages people-from 4-5 years until 60 and more…)) Very good coffee at the beginning of the area! Thanks for this to barista! Why I giving 4 stars ? Because only two things in this park you can do free - toilet and zoo! For another activities including simple kinder playground you must pay. You have to be ready for that.
Viktoriia I — Google review
Nice park, small place. With bicycle we finish the whole park in 15 minutes. Take money from each activity and it's not cheap at all. If you come with kids it can be expensive. Far away from canter of the city.

A very beautiful park, suitable activity for children and adults. If you like a little climbing and nature, this is a really good place. Please note, food and drinks are not allowed, except for personal half-liter water bottles.
Yaakov H — Google review
The park is nice. The problem is that need to pay for everything. The park is in the middle of a forest but need to pay parkung 6 lei/hour. Adult that don't do activities need to pay entrance fee. Every activity costs money, even baby playground. Suggest you to choose other activity than this place. Foodcourt is average quality and not cheap.
Aviad Y — Google review
I've LOVED Edenland for years, but customer service and administration cost it two stars. We've had multiple annual passes for Edenland and have loved going there for years. Unfortunately, the customer service has gone downhill. On one outing, one of our kids had flip flops on, and was told he needed closed-toe shoes to do the ropes course. That's reasonable. He changed into slip on hiking sandals (with closed toes) and was allowed to climb. He wore those shoes on 2-3 other occasions, too. Then one day we were told that the slip-on hiking sandals were not acceptable anymore - despite being acceptable prior times. On our last visit, the employees at the front gate told us that we could pay with card for entrance, but not for anything else in the park. Despite a working point of sale (POS) at the entrance, there "was no way" they could charge for activities with the same POS - cash only. But the ATM was not working. So rather than figure out a way to charge everything on one POS, Edenland chose to turn away customers.

Therme Bucharest

Wellness center
Spas & Wellness
Therme Bucharest is a popular spa complex located on the northern outskirts of Bucharest. Opened in 2016, it quickly became the country's top attraction, drawing over 1.2 million visitors in its first year. The center features mineral pools, waterslides, saunas, and an indoor botanical garden within Romania's largest botanical garden with 800,000 plants. There are various areas for relaxation including saunas, massage services, restaurants and small pools with beneficial water.
Absolutely fantastic experience. This place is just amazing, we were blown away by how clean and organized it is. The wristband system is very nice since you dont have to carry anything with you. We went on a monday so it wasnt so crowded and we really enjoyed it. All of the staff were helpfull and nice especially the people From the saunas that do a fantastic job. I cant recomend this place enough and will definitely visit again. Thank you for an amazing day
Alex A — Google review
Very beautiful, new and atmospheric. Prices are a little steep tho, i would definitely recommend you buy the whole package to have access to all places, as it can feel a little limited for a whole day. The whole area except one part is adults only too. There are lots of opportunities to buy alcohol and beverages near every pool. Food options are good but the food quality could absolutely be improved. I would recommend to buy tickets in advance thanks to lower prices. Parking is easy and there are plenty spaces. Pools are very warm so you won’t be cooling down too much in heatwaves unfortunately. There are no purely swimming pools available.
Matyas A — Google review
We had a great time at Therme! The facilities are clean, modern, and beautifully designed. There’s a good variety of pools, saunas, and relaxation areas, which made for a really enjoyable and refreshing experience. Staff were generally helpful, and the atmosphere was calm and well-maintained. They had lockers which were spacious allowing you to store a lot of your belongings. The showers and the toilets were kept clean as well. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get quite crowded during peak hours, which takes away a bit from the relaxing vibe. Also you are not allowed your phones in the pool, even the ones that you don’t swim in you kind of sit in it and they are very strict about it. The water slide were amazing they have a fair amount of slides to choose from and they really do get your heart racing. The fragrance in the jacuzzi was overpowering I did not enjoy the smell at all. They had waterbeds which were amazing other beds that you could use. They had bars everywhere so you didn’t have to walk far to get a drink. They also had some in the pool so you could get drinks in the pool. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking to unwind and recharge!
Honest R — Google review
I visited the thermal baths as it’s one of the most popular attractions in Bucharest and I wanted to experience it myself. The check-in process was easy, the facilities are large and well-equipped, and it’s convenient that they sell swimsuits, towels and flip-flops at the entrance. However, the place was extremely crowded (weekend visit), which affected the overall atmosphere. The saunas and pools were packed, and there was no availability for massages in the Elysium area. For the 4.5 hours I booked, the €35 entrance fee felt quite high considering the crowding. I also spent around €30 on two cocktails and a beer, which felt overpriced. At times, the hygiene didn’t feel ideal due to the large number of people in the water. Regarding the staff, most of them seemed like they didn’t really enjoy being there, which came across in their attitude. At times they appeared almost unfriendly, and it affected the overall atmosphere. It’s one of those places you visit once to say you’ve been. I’m not sure I would return, but I’m glad I experienced it.
Michalis K — Google review
The spa itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s very spacious with a lot of different areas to enjoy, and the food options are surprisingly good and great value for money if you’re spending the whole day there. Most of the staff we interacted with were fairly pleasant, and the overall experience had a lot of potential. However, there were a few significant downsides that really affected the visit. First, the changing rooms are merged for both men and women, which led to some uncomfortable and unhygienic situations. We saw couples being intimate in the changing areas, which definitely isn’t what you expect or want in a spa environment. As a Black woman, I also felt there was some unfairness when it came to service. At the pool bar, we repeatedly struggled to get the attention of the waiters, even when we were standing right in front of them. Meanwhile, Romanian and white guests behind us were served first. When we finally did receive our drinks, they weren’t made to the same standard as others, even basic garnishes were missing. Another confusing point was being told that treatments must be booked a day in advance, yet there’s no way to book online or over the phone. This doesn’t make sense for guests who are arriving on the day and would like to enjoy treatments as part of their visit. Overall, the spa is visually stunning and has a lot to offer , but these issues definitely let the experience down. Three stars for the beauty of the space and the potential, but improvements are needed in service, organisation, and guest comfort.
Renee R — Google review
We visited Therme spa for my partners birthday a couple of weeks ago. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The areas were clean, it was beautiful and the food and drink were really reasonably priced. We were there for nearly 12 hours and used all the areas. The water slides are great fun and all the different areas were nice to use. We ate lots of food and had alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks all day and spent about £55 each in total. We went on a sunday and it did get really busy and despite getting there at 10am, there were no massages avaliable as they had all sold out. There were plenty of beds when we got there, but by lunch time, there was nowhere to sit. It can be difficult to get a taxi back, the ubers turn up and cancel your fare and want to take a larger amount in cash. Be really careful with transport. Most of the staff were so lovely and work really hard, the odd person was a bit rude and dismissive. All in all, it was great experience definitely worth the money and we would return.

Simply put this place is one of the greatest places I’ve ever visited. I see some of the low reviews and either these people expectations are out of whack or they are truly some first class only people. This place checks all the boxes. Clean facilities, well maintained, lots of staff, good food, reasonable prices and amazing attractions. There is something for the entire family here. If you’re looking for a good way to spend a day this is the place.

A fantastic experience, like a small island in the Pacific. The air temperature is between 30/33C. You don't need cash, you pay everything with the wristband you get at the entrance. Ferma Animalelor is a wonderful place for children to spend time with adorable and well-cared-for animals. It offers hands-on experiences such as pony rides, play areas, and trampolining. The farm also features a hearty restaurant and a mini dairy shop with incredible products. Visitors can purchase food bags to feed the friendly animals and enjoy picnic spots on the premises. It's recommended to visit during weekdays for a great experience, including ample parking facilities.
Best for kids any age but especially for smaller kids, try the yogurt and chefir, they taste like the real deal.

If you don't have a country side to visit with your family, this place is a great substitute. Actually is more than you get to see in a typical Romanian farm, as there are also some more exotic animals. All in all, I think is worth a visit, especially with children.
Anda T — Google review
A very good place where you can go and just relax! They have a parking space area, at the entry you can buy food to give to the goats, the restaurant is open only in weekends, they have a lot of great animals that are very domestic and used to people. Also they have playgrounds, a shop to buy milk or cheese, toilets. I took a star because they mostly have the space without shade and in summer it can be a bit too much. There are no trees in the front area that could cover the park. Also the toys are very expensive compared with the prices on internet for the same products. Overall, we love the experience and we come here very often.
Diana L — Google review
Ohhh this place was/is so lovely. The animals look well and so much room for everyone, we went on a Monday so the only thing missing we couldnt have lunch there I suppose they don't open the restaurant that day for cleaning purposes but other than that soooooo much fun for the little ones. Plenty of shade too. So yes it is a must.
Sarai T — Google review
Lots of shade (man made)+ trees. Places for little ones to play. I would say the playgrounds can be more interesting than the animals after the first 30 min :)) Bring your own vegetables (carrots, cabbage) to feed the animals. You can also buy some food there, but its like pellets (natural carrots can be fed more easily). Can spend 2-3h entertained here. We had an impromptu picnic. Great day all in all.

It's a great place for families, we really enjoyed it! Inside you can see goats, ponies, swans, geese, ducks, cows and a few pigs. The animals looked really good and they were friendly. It's great that the place has a bunch of playgrounds and trampolines, so you can keep the kids entertained for a few hours. We payed 70 lei for 2 adults + 1 kid, which I believe is reasonable. Parking is plentiful, and we've been there on a Sunday during summer vacation. Will come back for sure.

Awesome place for families, individuals of all ages! The animals are well treated, domesticated and friendly with all. The place is clean everywhere you go. You've got pockets of shade here and there and picnic area tables with umbrellas - also a covered terrace at the beginning of the property. You've got a lot of facilities to suit your needs here: - indoor restaurant (opened only during weekends); - paved paths throughout the farm (not on the back of the property - there is a bit of a rough terrain there made out of prefabricated stone pieces there, thread lightly - you can check the pictures) - wheelchair and stroller friendly ramps; - water fountains with foam soap containers throughout the farm; (big plus here for this 👍🏻) - playgrounds for kids - a lot of them; - tables and picnic tables throughout the place; - a lot of shade around the lake area (very cool area during summer) - there is also an island in the middle of the lake but it was off-limits during our visit; - refreshments, coffee and souvenirs at the ticket office. Great entrance prices for the massive quality offered: - 4 € (adult) - 3.62 € (2+ years old kid or senior) - free entrance for kids under 2 years old For larger groups (field trip, school/day care group) you gotta make a reservation. Plenty of room for parking spaces. Free parking also. Come and visit, this place is really a hidden gem 💎! (Quite literally and figuratively speaking)

"Cernica" Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Sprawling lakeside sanctuary founded in 1608, with a cemetery & a church known for its frescoes.
The 1608 complex's fish ponds maintain carp populations using breeding techniques documented since 1734. The bakery's brick oven retains heat for three days after firing. Monks still gather herbs at specific lunar phases for their famous curative teas.
Arman K — Google review
I recently visited Cernica Monastery on weekend day, and it was my first time there. Being a weekend, the monastery was quite crowded, which added a bustling energy to the otherwise peaceful setting. The day was cloudy and windy, creating a solemn atmosphere. In contrast, the vibrant rose bushes in the courtyard were strikingly beautiful, their vivid colors standing out against the gray skies and lending a sense of hope amidst the gloom. The frescoes on the walls were equally captivating, with their intricate details and rich storytelling. However, one moment during my visit left me deeply upset. I lit a candle in memory of my grandmother, hoping for a quiet and meaningful moment of reflection. But as I stood there, a staff member—working alone—came to clean and threw my candle away before it had even finished burning. It felt so disrespectful and dismissive, and I was on the verge of tears. What should have been a serene and heartfelt moment turned into a painful memory

Nice monastery, parking is 5 lei. There is a cemetery on the premises. A lot of local beggers are present inside the yard asking visitors for money.

The Monastery is quite big, they provide ample parking spaces for a 5 lei fee. Scenery is also very nice, and right across the lake is a cemetery where a lot of historic personalities are buried. The small church in the center of the cemetery also has a charm of its own.

A wonderful place, full of peace. Very beautiful monastery, neat and surrounded by a beautiful garden.❤️

Quiet retreat for the Christian believers to a Holy Monastery with great landscape to provide shelter from the busy lifestyle.
