Outdoor Activities
Granadella beach is a picturesque cove that boasts a small, pebbly shore. Surrounded by pine trees and featured as the backdrop for The Cold Light of Day movie, this sheltered beach offers a tranquil escape from the world. Though it has limited parking close to the shore, visitors can enjoy pleasant views along the coast climbing road from a moderately distant car park.
This is an incredibly beautiful bay with amazingly clean and cool water. I am very happy that we found this place. But there was one unpleasant moment. Before going down, there is a worker who says that there is no space in the parking lot. We must turn around, drive 5 km back, and take a bus. The bus costs 5 euros per person. The parking also costs 5 euros. We still asked her to let us go, because she let other cars pass. In the end, we found a parking space in one minute. There was more than one space. The parking actually costs 9 euros. The beach is clean, with pebbles, and there is a café.
Oksana S — Google review
Were there during off season, looket pretty silent and empty. Bar and shop were closed, no shower and WC. Surroundings look incredibly. No problem to park a car nearby 😅
Einaras B — Google review
We arrived at the entrance of the road leading to the parking and beach past 3pm on a Sunday of July 2025. All cars were being stopped by entering the beach. The beach officer was talking to each car and explaining that parking is full already by 10ish am. So he handed out a brochure where to park it 2mins away from where he stopped us. He told us to get on the next beach bus which will take us down the beach. So we did. It was a small parking space but we did street parking in residential area beside it, just like what others did. And we waited for the bus. At the time, only 3 groups rode the bus. U have to pAy per person (2way already) but i think our 1yo was free of charge. I posted in the photo of the brochure here. Then we reached the beach in no time. Take note that it is a pebble beach, which i realized I prefer better than the sand, considering i have kids. I can relaxed a bit knowing they wont throw sands to each other. Though it is a bit of a struggle to make an umbrella stand on pebble and the sand underneath was a bit hard to stick on. Make sure u have proper footwear like almost everyone does. The smooth rocks seriously hurt our feet from walking. The water... the clearest Ive ever seen in Valencia/Alicante. At the right side of the cost is the clearest and a cove is nice like this with shadow so you can hide from the sun if you wish. There is also a shower which is i really like compared to other long beach where you can only wash ur feet. There are restaurants too and small hotels. Past 6pm, the cove is clearing up and so does the parking. So my husband rode the bus back to the parking lot and he brought it inside to the parking space within the vicinity so we dont need to pack up and leave for the last bus trip. We left around 8pm. Less people. More chill vibe. We really enjoyed it and will surely be back because im a sucker for crystal clear water.
Madelyn — Google review
Although a pebbly beach, it was very beautiful and not windy. The water was warm. There were jellyfish in the water the day that we came here, but it was still possible to find nice spots for a swim. There are rocks under water so need to watch out not to kick your foot. Toilet facilities are near the beach and free. There is a long road car park near the beach, but we parked before the access control on the road for free and trekked to get here for about 25-30 min. It was a nice hike so if anyone else is willing, it is an option, but you would have to follow the road to get down to the cove so I dont recommend doing that with children or a lot of bulky luggage. Plan ahead and take a backpack instead of a trolley or big hand bags.
Olivia C — Google review
Absolutely amazing! Early October, not too busy but still good weather and warm! Worth a visit.
Juliana S — Google review
This is a great cycling destination during the tourist off-season. From Xàbia, the road CV742 (towards Cap de la Nau), then 7420 goes up and down across a posh and quiet neighbourghood with little car traffic. The pebbly beach is nested in a lovely cove. Bring along food and fluids because there is nowhere to buy supplies. No toilets.
Maxi M — Google review
Fun Rocky beach (Pebbles) with a cool bar - definitively an Instagram looking spot! The water has an incredible turquoise color. Bring water shoes, as the rocks can be tough on your feet. We went by boat in September and it was easy to find a spot to anker and swim to shore to enjoy a beer and some snorkel. A great place to relax, enjoy the views, and snap some amazing photos.
Alexa's W — Google review
Stunning place and beach, however it IS a stone beach so you will need water shoes. The parking is on a very high incline but it is worth driving there. There are some sunbeds but they are quite pricey and there isn't alot of them, so better to get there early. Theres also a small restaurant but we didnt visit.

Platja del Portet de Moraira is a charming little beach nestled in a cove with clear blue waters, making it perfect for activities like canoeing and kayaking. The beach is shaped like a sea shell and is sheltered by the Cap d'Or peninsula, offering calm and crystal-clear water away from the crowds. It's an ideal starting point for adventure seekers as it provides access to the cape's watchtower.
Fairly long beach in a cove, but very narrow space between beach wall and sea, so the beach can be short on space for sunbathing at peak times. Lovely sandy beach, with shallow waters. Popular spot for small boats and yachts. No car park nearby, only street parking, and streets rise away from the beach at steep inclines.
Brad W — Google review
I may be biased because I come all the time, but it is a stunning beach! Occasionally smells like tar on the far side when the kids start digging. Beware of jellyfish after a very stormy day as they come round the headland. Great for snorkeling and has the 2 beach front bars!
Madelyne M — Google review
Shallow Water, perfect for kids. Sand is pretty dirty though, and there is not much space.
Ileana M — Google review
Difficult parking. Lots of people. Have a beer at the restaurant on the beach. The beach itself isn’t that nice. Others are much nicer.
Bray W — Google review
Wonderful small beach with bars and restaurants lining the promenade. Water is shallow so good for small children.
David H — Google review
Beach, restaurants and wonderful views, what more could you want.
Roland G — Google review
+ Really beautiful place and views + Clean and clear water + You can dive with mask to see the fish + Great for paddling + Calm atmosphere + One cafe is right near the water, so you can eat and look at the water. But it's not much to eat for vegetarians + Public toilet available + Lifeguards in the beach - Hard to get without the car - Narrow beach line
Kate S — Google review
Nice with beautiful water but too crowded all day long with little space to put your towel down. No breeze, hard to breath! Too hot with the kids and hard to park! I’m sure it’s fantastic in June or September!

(Translated by Google) The only star is for the place: really very beautiful, very nice beach and crystal clear water. What is missing are the services: the beach was dirty due to a recent storm (we arrived at 2:00 pm), there are no public toilets or public showers. For such a renowned place we expected a very different level of service.

The Parc Natural del Penyal d'Ifac is a compact nature reserve with a large limestone outcrop, trails and scenic sea views. It is ideal for sport diving, fishing, and anchoring your boat. The natural cove is tranquil and perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving, as well as for fishing. The hike to the tunnel part of the reserve can be difficult for inexperienced hikers and dogs are not recommended due to the difficult terrain after the tunnel.
Amazing hike, shame it’s not longer as we were and back down in about 1h40min. Things to note: -you need to get tickets online but no one checked our tickets (weekend in June) -the first half is very easy ascent up to the tunnel -from the tunnel onwards, it gets a bit more impressive and there is a bit more rocky bits. Make sure to have good grip with your shoes -not sure I’d advise if you have severe vertigo -there are toilets and a fountain at the start of the hike
Nico M — Google review
Very nice trip, but remember to book your reservation online! Its a bit tricky, but use translate and it should be alright(the fines are 600-6000€). No amateurs should go here. You can expect to climb using the ropes and chains that are available. Its not very difficult if youre normally fit, but if you slip certain places, you can get really hurt. Reccomend to go in the morning before the sun gets too hot.
Sondre E — Google review
The best hike ever! Such a beautiful place Go with good hiking shoes, the stones are ve try slippery and it can be disheartening not to be able to continue because of that. And don’t look down to see how high it is while you’re climbing - this was my mistake! Just watch your feet, use the chains and go calmly!
Sonya S — Google review
The view was rewarding, but I found the trail to be rather challenging. It is very rocky, with often very polished, slippery rocks. You’d certainly have to hold onto the chains and ropes attached to the mountain in a few difficult places. It’s not incredibly difficult, but one has to be careful. I was told that on average around 20 helicopters are dispatched to pick up injured hikers each year. Certainly wear appropriate mountain shoes, something with a good grip. A round trip from the beach took me close to 2 hours.
Alexander S — Google review
I did this hike with my 48 year old mother. It took 1 hour to the top and 40 minutes down. We did this trip june 20th so if you're going during summer months I'd suggest going at 08:30 (when they open). It's easy up to the tunnel and afterwards it gets rockier and even more slippery because of all who have walked there. It's 332m above sea level. If I went without my mother I could probsbly do it in an hour. [[[Bring Water]]]
Dewg — Google review
Beautiful walk, bring some water and some good shoes. Don't forget to book your visit, you can't just walk up there.
Denn!s — Google review
Free to book on the National park’s website. They are limiting the number of people to 300 a day due to erosion and potential overcrowding at peak times. It is quite a scramble so you’ll need decent shoes and some bits are a bit scary if you aren’t good with sheer drops but mostly easy. Best tackled early in the day I think.
Philip S — Google review
Amazing views nice walk very polished rock, good footwear required

Water: very clear, very clean. No waves! Very still water. The beach is full , lots and lots of people on tiny space You can wash you feet ✅

This is the other beachfront in Calpe, less crowded, where walkers find the usual restaurants, bars and souvenirs shops. Ideal for a short stroll. The beach itself is wide, it must be packed during the summer months. The beach is cleaned up everything morning by the municipality technical services. There are benches along the way which allows for frequent breaks.
Maxi M — Google review
Today Saturday 13. 2025 I came to this beach because of the sand but like always pay zone for parking ... Here in Spain greed in s eternal. The view is exceptional having a mountain stick out of the water ... The water is relatively clear and clean. There aren't many paid umbrellas and this is a good thing The beach is wide and has many restaurants. It's 4/5 because of the paid parking and the algae in the water
Virgiorix — Google review
Fantastic & Scenic Beach in Calpe This is a scenic beach in Calpe, it is very long very wide and the sand is great. It has lots of shops, boutiques, restaurants & cafés around it. The water is quite shallow so good for the young kids. The best part though is the fabulous view of the rock! We really enjoyed our time in Calpe.
Paul V — Google review
Two minute walk from our hotel, a lovely walk down towards the rock and then it continues all around to the town centre. Very clean and great to just stroll and enjoy the sunshine and views.
Steven T — Google review
Blue flag beach with crystal clear water and nice sandy beach, although the beach is becoming narrower. Unfortunately the city council are hoodwinked into believing that allowing the dead seaweed to pile up is environmentaly friendly. But not for the economy of the city which relies on tourists. It stinks and is really smelly and you have to climb mountains of it to get to the sea. The contract for sunbed management is also messed up by the incompetent City Council, so no sunbeds or umbrellas for hire. Shame because it used to be beautiful!
Andrew W — Google review
Very nice area for evening walk and also great beach although we weren't beaching there. If was clean, not that busy and with great views! The letters of Calpe are a nice place to have a photo at (of course I have had a few). There are also lots of bars and restaurant that you coild choose from for a drink or a meal. Would recommend it, if in the area.

Amazing views! My advice to wear strong hiking shoes because stones are sharp. I had trainers and next day my feet was double size. Bit still sore. Did 7 hours walk because wanted to see caves as well. Definitely take water and sun cream with you. Not crowded.
Lita P — Google review
Very nice hike. We took the easier route. The views of a town and sea below the mountains were very nice. Path is quite wide and there is plenty of space for a quick or a longer brake. Not very crowded. Recommend :)
Hubert P — Google review
Remember to take and use sunproof cream. Water at least 1,5 l per person. Take a cap. Up and down 4 to 5 hours, depends on your physical state. Don't start later than 3 pm unless you plan to spend a night there.
Denys F — Google review
Parc Natural del Montgó is a beautiful place to visit with stunning views and breathtaking scenery. However, the rocks and roads can be challenging to navigate and are not an easy walk. Nonetheless, the park is definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves nature and enjoys hiking.
Nicolas B — Google review
If you are planning to explore Montgó Natural Park, it's worth considering a visit beforehand to the Park Information Centre (in Bosc Diana park & gardens, Avenida de Joan Fuster). Pick up a free leaflet with a detailed map of the park, showing the various walking routes plus relevant information (in Spanish) - distance, degree of difficulty, total ascent/descent etc. There is a very useful 3D scale model of the park and surrounding area, with walk routes marked on. Also, display boards with information about natural history, flora and fauna, key species etc.

Great walk from Xabia Port to cap San Antonio. Not suitable for those with mobility issues or young children. Wear suitable shoes and take water
Mrs L — Google review
Loved the hike. There is a cave on the bottom called Cova de Tollada (or similar, I may be butchering it). You can apparently go pretty deep inside the darkness there but i didn’t venture. Regardless, the hike before it is spectacular. True beauty to see the sun, sea and mountains in one place
Stanislav K — Google review
Amazing views from the top, quite a climb allow 2 - 3 hours each way. The path at places can be very rough or close to the edge especially the summit climb. Even if you go half way the views are stunning!

Castell de Dénia is a picturesque castle by the water, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. It offers a glimpse into history with artifacts on display, showcasing its Greek, Roman, Moorish, and Spanish influences. The climb to the top rewards visitors with stunning views of Denia and the mountains. While exploring the castle's ruins, visitors can also enjoy a café at the top.
Worth a visit, but make sure to go later in the afternoon otherwise you’ll be baked in the scorching sun. Beautiful views to the surroundings; not much of a castle, more outer remains. A governor’s palace location is a beautiful highest spot of the castle with views to the sea. Visit to the castle requires a certain level of physical fitness and preferably comfortable shoes, at least not heels, so plan accordingly.
L. L — Google review
Interesting information (mostly in Spanish) about the various stages of adaptation of the castle from its beginnings and most recently a palace. Worth a visit. Not much shade so morning or evening visit recommended. Plenty of (paid) parking in the vicinity. Good location for a walk around old town after. Plenty of exercise walking up and down the many steps and slopes to stretch those legs after a few days relaxing on the beaches.
Philip S — Google review
Beautiful walk around the castle, lovely pit stop cafe and prices are great. Views are wonderful and well worth the few euros entry fee to explore the castle grounds. Coffee and cake are a must, visit is most definitely recommended, the surrounding streets with the quaint spainish houses are lovely to also explore.
Donna M — Google review
Interesting place. €2 for seniors. There is a fairly steep tarmacced slope after the entrance, there are other routes up to the top, but steep and very uneven stone paths. Lots of boards with the history around. Lots of different areas to explore including the walls, so if you want to do it all, you'll need a lot of time.Views are good of the surrounding areas. Once outside, there is also a tunnel that runs underneath the castle which is free.
Michael C — Google review
The views are absolutely stunning! There are very few people, so it’s really comfortable to walk around. There’s also a café on the grounds where you can enjoy different drinks with a beautiful view of the sea.
Valeria S — Google review
Definitely worth a visit, you will be sweating on a hot day, even if you take the easy road route up to the top. We opted for the hard more but scenic and cultural route making sure we took our time as it was 35deg. Entry is €3 for an adult and €2 for over 65's, the ticket man spoke perfect English and was very helpful. When you make it to the top the views are beautiful with harbour and coastal views. There is a small cafe at the top with a lovely seating area under pine trees, it does close mid afternoon so take a drinknifnyour going after 1400. We walked down the easy route and walked the castle tunnel that runs under the castle, this is free to enter. We parked down at the port car park, reasonably priced at around a €1 and hour and its only 10 mins from the castle.
Martin K — Google review
A good uphill walk to a once thriving castle, little remains and all signs with history in Spanish, thankfully Google Translate helped tremendously. But you can see the history of the place it's mott and bailey, and footprints of the houses. Great views over Denia and harbour, watching the Ibiza ferry's come in. Lovely little cafe in castle at very reasonable price, also toilets, but these are a bit dilapidated.

Amazing place. Definitely recommend to visit with children before 10-12 years. Beatiful shows. You can do pictures together with sea lion, dolphin, parrot, lemur. The park has beautiful territory and zoo. There are few restaurants on the park.
Vika E — Google review
What a special place. So much fun! Negatives, its a little pricey, and they dont have a vast amount of animals. The pros, wow, the shows are phenomenal, especially the dolphin show. Amazing, just amazing. Yes its pricey, but honestly the shows itself make it worth it! Get over there. €20 cash or €17 (paid online) to touch a dolphin and have a photo (included) is such amazing value. You wont find better. So while its not a cheap day out, it's 100% worth it, and id go back again, and again.

Nice animal Park got discounted tickets so went with family. The dolphin and sea lion show were amazing definitely recommend going and seeing them. At the top. Is a great view of aqualandia which is right next door. Overall a good place to visit with family.
Aidan05 — Google review
Pretty cool. We did combine tickets with Aqualandia. So we visited this place in the morning. We arrived about half past 10 which gave us time to look around and the watch the parrot show. Which was very informative. 2 of the parrots did not listen to the trainers and decided they were staying out just jumping on the rope. After that we headed to the sea lion show to watch some very happy sea lions and then the dolphin show, which has 8 dolphins doing tricks. The place is small so wouldn't recommend spending the whole day there as you can watch all the shows and see all the other animals in around 3 hours. Prices for photos with animals is around €20 euros I recommended paying for these before you enter the park.
Alyson S — Google review
In my opinion, Mundomar a bit too pricey, compared to Oceanografic in Valencia. However, dolphins did an amazing job performing, the instructors are great. Stunning view from the top! I liked it
Maria K — Google review
It was a good day plenty to see and great shows. But don't bother with getting the VIP TOUR as you are unable to take Photos as they block you and say only me.The photographer was a bit rude and right in my face as I attempted to get a photo.
Graham L — Google review
A great day was had by the whole family. The animals were amazing, well worth going to the shows, birds, sealion, and dolphin. There are other experiences which we didn't do this time. We purchased the combo ticket for mundomar and aqualandia, which was a good saving.

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Aqualandia, located in Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain, is a sprawling outdoor water park offering an array of slides and games suitable for visitors of all ages. The park features fast water slides, swimming pools, rapids, giant waterfalls, and shallow pools for young children. Additionally, it includes various dining options, shops, and relaxation areas for sunbathing. Aqualandia is the perfect destination to beat the summer heat with its diverse attractions and amenities.
I would give this water park in Benidorm more than five stars. It is simply SENSATIONAL! To be honest, I didn’t have the courage to try all the rides, especially the waterslide VERTIGO, but it’s incredibly fun to watch the brave ones make their descent. The park is huge, offering a wide variety of food and drink options. There are also lockers available for €7 per day, which is really convenient. Not to mention the numerous picnic areas that make it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Without a doubt, this is one of the best-structured water parks I’ve ever visited.
Tatiana L — Google review
A brilliant day out for the whole family. We have two boys aged 6 and 7 and they both had an amazing time. We brought our own packed lunch after reading other reviews as the food in the park didn’t seem like the best option, and this turned out to be a smart decision as there are plenty of picnic areas available. We booked our tickets online which cost £109 for the four of us. On arrival, we rented a large locker for €10 (smaller ones are €7). They give you a PIN code printed on a receipt which is a bit odd, as it means you have to go into the water with a piece of paper to remember your code. It would make more sense if you could set your own code. We also paid for two sunbeds at €7 each and the inflatable ring floats came at an extra cost too. This felt like a bit of a rip off, as items like floats and sunbeds should really be included in the ticket price. This is the main reason we’ve given 4 stars instead of 5. That said, the park itself is spotless and very well maintained. The lifeguards, although quite young, did a fantastic job and we felt very safe letting the boys explore nearby. The children’s area is the best I’ve seen in any water park as it has a full section with obstacle courses, smaller slides and jumping platforms. We would definitely visit again for another family day out.
ADG — Google review
Great day out with the Grand kids here. Take your own drinks and food as the kiosk prices inside are a little hard on the wallet (€3.75) for a 1.5 ltr water that you can pick up for about 60 cents in the supermarket. €5.40 for a beer 🍺. Apart from that, it's a lovely park that kept the boys busy all day.
Andy M — Google review
We visited on a Friday in August so was very busy as expected. However we found the park to be clean, well organised and we all had great fun, dragging the kids away after about 7 hours. Queues for some slides were 15-20 mins but plenty of shade and well mannered. Didn’t attempt to get a sun bed or picnic bench (which looked like you needed to be there early to get) - just sat on a towel on the grass which was fine. Lifeguards very professional and kept good order.
Alex B — Google review
It was too crowded for me, even though we visited on a Wednesday. However, the kids had a lot of fun, which is the most important thing! We will come back! Food was available at affordable prices. What surprised me was that the lockers and lounges required payment.
Pawel L — Google review
Aqualandia in Benidorm is a great place and an absolute hit with kids—plenty of rides, pools, and attractions to keep the whole family entertained. The park is clean and well maintained, and overall it’s a fun experience for both children and adults. That said, the downside in high season is the waiting times. Some rides had queues of up to 90 minutes, which meant that even though we spent the whole day there, we couldn’t try everything we wanted. On-site food is also very expensive—for example, a gofre with just one scoop of ice cream was over €7. Security lockers cost €7, and hiring a large inflatable wheel is €8 plus a €2 deposit (though this does give you an advantage on Rapidos, where you can skip the queue). Overall, it’s still a great experience and the kids loved it, but the long waiting times and high prices take away from what could otherwise be a perfect day out.
Jaro — Google review
Visited on: Friday, 29th August 2025 Such a great waterpark! The Rapids are especially good! I highly recommend. The “Black Hole” too is fun. ⚠️ SENSORY NEEDS: This ride is dark and may not be suitable for those with SN. For Food, I recommended the Snack Bar - see my other review for additional, and full details.

Nature & Parks
Benidorm Island is a stunning nature reserve that offers panoramic hikes and glass-bottom boat excursions. It features a rocky outcrop with clean waters, hundreds of seagulls, and an abundance of fishes that can be viewed through the boat's bottom. While there is only one small restaurant on the island, it is highly recommended for its delicious food. Visitors can walk along the established pathways to reach the top of the island and enjoy breathtaking views.
Staff are really helpful and friendly, apart from the man that solf us the tiquets, he was just talking to his colleague. The boats leave every hr if im not wrong, you can catch any boat back, the last one leaves the island around 17.30. There is a small restaurant right as you get off. The price is reasonable, as you also get a small submarine ride. The beach is small and rocky but it didnt get over crowded. There are toilets. We saw many fish and crabs, also a few sea urchins so be carefull, we wore swim shoes. The kids also enjoyed it. I recommend you take sun cream and keep reapplying. Maybe some sandwiches.
Kristy F — Google review
Good small trip to the island that sits of the coast of Benidorm. It was only €18 and that included the small glass hull boat trip once on the island. So very cheap for a day out. We had some refreshments at the cafe/ restaurant on the island. Then walked up the path to the top. Recommend for a short day out. Doesn’t take long and very enjoyable.
Stuarty B — Google review
Wanted to go here for ages, and when I did, I was not disappointed. The boat trip across was better than expected, and the hike to the top was worthwhile. Even a drink in the cafe was good. My only advice would be to wear good walking shoes. I did not know about the hike, so I found it hard on the feet.

Platja de Llevant

Outdoor Activities
Platja de Llevant is an urban public beach in Benidorm, known for its recreational waters, lifeguards, showers, lounge chairs, and volleyball nets. Despite not having the quaint charm of a secluded cove, it is a beloved Blue Flag bay with golden shores and crystal-clear waters. This popular beach offers a bustling atmosphere and stunning views of the Mediterranean sea. During peak season, it can get crowded as visitors flock to enjoy the gentle waves and clean sandy shores.
Very clean, well maintained, public sandy beach. It felt safe, and people were civilized. Great background with the tall buildings in the back. There are plenty of restaurants on the shoreside. There are plenty of sunbeds to rent. Lifeguards on watch. The water is not too steep.
CJ — Google review
Levante beach was simply beautiful. It is well maintained, clean and safe. Sunbeds can be rented for only 6 euro for the day. Excellent place to relax.
Vin C — Google review
Lovely beach but very busy. Chairs and umbrellas €6 each, you just sit down and someone comes round to pay. Close to shops you have people walking up and down selling cocktails and offering massages. A place with taps to wash the sand off your feet. A warning women do walk around and lounge top less if this offends anyone.
Mel — Google review
A great beach. However, it is rather populated with many tourists and locals making it rather busy. You can hire a sun-bed at only €12 overlooking the Mediterranean, turquoise, yet quite transparent sea. 🌊
Awardedcat Y — Google review
I visited Platja de Llevant in Benidorm at the end of December, and the weather was surprisingly warm, not hot enough for a swim, but perfect to enjoy the sun and a long walk by the sea. The sky was clear, the water shimmered in deep blue tones, and the whole promenade was lively even in winter. Historically, Platja de Llevant has been one of the main symbols of Benidorm’s transformation. In the 1950s, this small fishing village began turning into one of Europe’s most famous seaside resorts, and this beach became the heart of that change, lined with hotels, cafés, and palm trees that still define the skyline today.
Patrizia P — Google review
The beach is absolutely stunning, with its picturesque scenery that instantly captivates anyone who visits. The golden sand is soft and inviting, creating a perfect contrast against the deep blue sky. The ocean itself is crystal clear, reflecting the sunlight in shimmering patterns that dance across the water. The waves are gentle and soothing, making the beach a tranquil spot to relax and enjoy nature’s beauty. One of the highlights of this beach is the remarkably clean water. It’s so clear that you can see the seabed even from the shore, with fish occasionally visible as they swim by. The cleanliness of the water makes it perfect for swimming, wading, or just floating on the surface, letting the gentle waves carry you. In addition to the natural beauty, the beach offers convenient amenities like chair and sun umbrella rentals. This allows you to fully enjoy your time there without having to bring your own gear. You can easily rent a comfortable chair and a large umbrella to provide shade, making your day at the beach even more relaxing. Overall, the combination of breathtaking beauty and thoughtful conveniences makes this beach a perfect getaway.
Daniel E — Google review
Great Beach Fantastic beach very famous worldwide, the view on the buildings is incredible. Not the beach has all the expected amenities & lots of shops, cafes & restaurants around. The water is also really nice and this is what made this beach so fabulous.

My Days in Benidorm 🥰 🌸❣️ It was August, and Benidorm welcomed us with 41-degree weather 🥵. What wonderful days we had at the beach, strolling through its streets, trying out restaurants, watching the sunrise, or walking at night while enjoying the nightlife. We’d wake up early to enjoy the sea and walk along the sand. Each day was unique and amazing! Creating human connections, observing and learning about their lifestyle and culture made the experience even more enriching.

Mirador del Castell - Balcó de la Mediterrània is a must-visit lookout deck with white-stone balustrades, offering breathtaking views of the beach, town, and stunning sunsets. The castle's remaining walls provide a historical touch to this spot, perched on top of the rock overlooking the sea. Known as The Balcony of the Mediterranean, it offers spectacular panoramic views along the coastline and Benidorm's skyline.
Beautiful view from the balcony, you can see the whole city and it's beauty. The best time for visit is in the morning, because of the sunlight and there is a quiet number of people then, in the afternoon is very crowded 🤫

🏙️ Beniyork – The Spanish Manhattan Born from One Man's Vision It might not be Dubai, but this forest of skyscrapers immediately brings New York to mind. They call it "Beniyork," and the nickname fits perfectly. It is worth knowing that this skyline is the result of one man's wild vision. Back in the 50s, Mayor Pedro Zaragoza had a plan for a "vertical city"—he wanted to build upwards to ensure everyone was close to the beach. He was also the one who convinced General Franco to allow bikinis, changing the history of Spanish tourism forever! If you want a quick tour of the city, head straight to the Balcón del Mediterráneo. This unique spot offers not only the best perspective on the city's unusual architecture but also the rare opportunity to admire both sunrises and sunsets. I don't know if it was the views or the story of the visionary mayor, but I look back on my visit to this city with great sentiment. Practical tips: 🚗 Parking: We used the large multi-story Parking Ruzafa in the very center (about a 10-15 minute walk from the viewpoint). It isn't the easiest for maneuvering (it's quite tight), but it offers many floors and plenty of spots. 🗺️ Benidorm was the finale of our one-day "Tri-City" trip. You can find the full list of all places we visited (including this trio) in the trip summary attached to my review of the Valencia Cathedral.

One of the most beautiful and iconic viewpoints in Benidorm. Located between the Levante and Poniente beaches, this spot offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, the skyline, and the surrounding coast. The white balustrades, blue tiles, and sea breeze create a truly special atmosphere, perfect for photos, walks, or just enjoying the sound of the waves below. It’s one of those places that capture the essence of Benidorm, lively, sunny, and unforgettable.

Small train station at the border of Benidorm. Around 20-25 minutes walk from the center. From here you will have to take the bus to Allicante since the railways are still under construction. The train ticket prices are low , 1,35 euro to Altea this is for a single ticket. Inside the new building there are two ticket machines that accept cash (coins, paper) debit cards and credit cards. There is also a small office with some service desks. There are two toilets cabins , 1 toilet seat for ladies and one toilet seat for the gentlemen plus a hanging urinoir. Plus running water to wash your hands. There are also some vending machines with beverages and candy / chips.

The park is divided into five themed zones such as Greece, Egypt, and Rome, offering attractions for both adrenaline seekers and families. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Benidorm due to the park's hillside location. Additionally, Terra Mítica provides a respite from the heat with its water rides.
Loved this place 30+ years ago when I took my 3 children. This year we went back and took my now adult children plus my 3 young grandchildren. I was still amazed by it and so where they. Its such a lovely place. I remember going on that oldest wooden roller coaster 30+ years ago so its quite sad its not not in use now. This place is very different and great place to get fab photos especially in all the different country themes.

Decoration awasome. Low attractions density overall, only 5 per adults.looks that many attractions were closed. You can enter food and drinks, there is no control at entrance. The swimming pool is awesome, with bar and music. Don't forget your swimming suits. The best timing to go, around 16h. Enough time for the few attractions and swimming pool until 21h

A epic theme park loved it, very good value for money, plenty to do for adults and a good selection of rides for small kids. Quite a few shows, realt impressed with the cleanliness of the park, plenty of toilets and bins ( with ashtrays ) food selection is your typical stuff with beer as well. Good size car park with taxi rank only 15 euros to the beach in benidorm and hotels. Staff are polite and speak some english as well as spanish and other languages. PARK IS SET UP FOR DISABLED PERSONS AND BUGGIES IN MIND 😉

We visited Terra Mítica during Halloween 2025, and it turned out to be a fantastic place to enjoy with the kids. The rides are really well done—just note that most of the big ones require children to be over 1.4 meters tall. One of mine was a bit shorter and was a little disappointed she couldn’t go on everything, but that’s something to keep in mind. A fun tip: there are two water rides—one on a smaller setup and one on a big boat. We ended our day on the big boat ride and got absolutely soaked. The good news is I learned afterward that they have drying facilities on site—something I wish I’d known sooner! So you can dry off before heading out if you get drenched. All in all, Terra Mítica is a great spot for family fun, especially during the Halloween season. Just keep those height requirements and the handy drying stations in mind.
Yuri — Google review
Such a disappointing review. Initially, I wanted this review to be 5* however there were some segments of my day that didn’t go particularly well to my desire. Why so? I waited for one of the rides: EL LABERINTO DEL MINOTAURO and we waited for 41 minutes in a hot room without any sprinklers present to cool you down. Additionally, once I got onto the ride, the laser things weren’t working properly even though I accurately aimed at the targets. You should honestly fix that ride. This ride is the chief reason why I rated this theme park 3*. However, there more positives than negatives… I really enjoyed the water rides: the rapids and that ride with the huge drop at the end and you get absolutely. But due to meteorological conditions. You will dry extremely fast within 15 minutes at least, fully. I also went on the orange swing ride (whatever it is called) which was so fun. Furthermore, prior to riding the orange swing ride, I went on the blue rollercoaster something associated with Titan theme (I think). That was highly fun and I do recommend it.

What a fun place, where you can soend the whole day. All the water rides are the best fun and on a hot day getting wet was great. The park itsellesi is a master piece and so clean aswell. All the sets and atmosphere, with different countries and eras. The shows are great with really talented actors, dancing, singing, stunts and the stage settings. The pirate show was amazing, loved it. All in all a great day. Yes it does take a lot of money to enjoy, since food and especially drinks are very expensive. But if you compare to theme parks around the world, entry fees are not as high for the quality of this theme park. It really is a place to see and experience. We will be back.
Aino-Kaisa L — Google review
A great day out with loads to enjoy. Every time we have visited there are very few queues for the rides, great water play areas and amazing shows. We always try and visit once a year and haven't ever been disappointed!

It’s a great place to visit with your family when you're in Benidorm — huge, clean, and packed with fun games. If you purchase tickets online, you’ll receive a wristband, which lets you skip the queue by using the “entry for disabled” line. However, this wasn’t clearly explained, and it should definitely be made more obvious.

Very nice experience. The cave isn't very big, but it's peaceful, less commercial, and it offers plenty to see. This was our favorite cave to visit compared to Coves del Canelobre, by far. The entry fee is only 4 euros/ adults. The entrance is guided and starts approximately every 30 minutes. The guide could only speak Spanish. However, he could explain everything in a way that we could actually understand him. He was also very friendly. There are some free street parking spots next to the entrance. Once a year, they have a live concert in the cave. Tickets can only be purchased on site. The next one is on 28th september 2025. Approximately 250-300 people attend.

It's a fabulous cave and a wonderful drive to get there. We waited about 15 minutes for our tour and it was just the two of us. The guide was fabulous. He explained about the history and how the formations developed and pointed out so many things we wouldn't have noticed or understood on our own. He mainly spoke Spanish but would interject with some English to help our understanding. He was very patient with us. The tour was just long enough, circa 30 minutes. Great value at 4€ entry. Well worth the journey and highly recommended.

Fantastic and amazingly large cave. 50m from top to bottom and a view of approx 150m on the inside. Beautifully lit and comfy walkway. The guide is only in Spanish though, no translated pamflet or so. Some panels at the entrance. No photos or videos allowed inside. Videos are up on youtube for your pleasure. Use your eyes!

Very beautiful and well accessible cave. Nicely lit, too. Guide only available in spanish. Entrance fee has been raised to 7€ (5€ for children and older people). Cash only.
Gustav G — Google review
Really interesting cave up in the mountains and well worth the 4 euros each. Although the tour is only in Spanish the tour guide did well with our limited understanding and pointing out some clear points. There is one point that if you're larger around the middle you may not fit through but we were able to take h the loop the other way so didn't lose out on anything.

Fantastic day well worth a visit, good for all able body persons but not young children. Guide was amazing and had a huge knowledge of the area, she was brilliant. Would highly recommend 5 stars

The guide was amazing, they explained so well inside the cave! I truly recommend visiting it!

The top of the day visit at the beautiful mountains. Absolutely worth the 4 €. The guide didn’t talk english but we manage enough in spanish to understand what she meant.

Nestled along the stunning Gandia Beach, Chiringuito Budha is a vibrant beachfront bar that perfectly captures the essence of seaside relaxation and lively entertainment. With its spacious terrace offering breathtaking views of the sea, it's an ideal spot to savor delightful meals from breakfast through dinner. The atmosphere shifts beautifully throughout the day; it starts as a tranquil haven in the morning and transforms into a bustling daytime nightclub post-lunch, complete with DJ music that sets an energetic vibe.
Everything was alright. The only 4 star rating because I didn't have the courage to order food because I have seen a cockroach on the premises . Other than that, very good spot on the beach and good drinks.

What a great beach bar to enjoy a couple of ice-cold beers 🍻 at. Friendly staff and fast service. You can't beat sitting on the beach 😎 enjoying the sun, watching the world go by and relaxing throughout the day. The drinks are cheap enough, and the cocktails look delicious. It's definitely a place to visit on a nice sunny day 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

The Ducal Palace of Gandia, a grand structure dating back to the 1300s, served as the residence for the Borja dukes of Gandia. The palace boasts opulent Gothic and Baroque interiors, with highlights including the Salon de las Coronas and the Galeria Dorada. This historic city also features other notable attractions such as the Collegiate Church and Old University, reflecting its illustrious past.
It's an impressive and historical palace. They offer self-guided English audio tours. We enjoyed the beautiful buildings and all the gorgeous shiny interiors. Sun was casting the pretty shade through the window door of the terrace.
Yoko K — Google review
Historical palace, in the past times the heart beat of Gandia. Upon visiting you can use the audio guide offered when purchasing the tickets. I love all the little details in the ceiling paintings, the ceramic tiles and the Chapel. Them days people didn't skip on spending money on art, it's obvious. We enjoyed the visit very much.

The Ducal Palace of Gandia is a real gem! Quick tip: evening light photos are really fantastic as you can go to the terrace of the palace. It’s a beautifully preserved historic palace with impressive architecture and stunning interiors. The guided tours are informative and let you dive into the fascinating history of the Borgia family. A true must-see when visiting Gandia! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow this was an excellent and very interesting trip. The palace is wonderful and the use of their headphone is brilliant as it guides you through each room. Incredibly detailed and interesting look on this property its owners and history. The craftsman ship in the some of the room is exquisite especially the golden ball. If you in Gandia well worth a visit

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for the 5 pm tour. There were around 20 people on the Spanish tour. Very interesting and costing €8 per person. There are options to walk around with a recorded guide machine. We parked in the underground car park close by. The tour was up to one hour and a half.

I would live in this palace without a shadow of doubts 🤣 Enjoyed the exterior and interior of the palace. It was really surprising to look at the sizes of doors, beds, chairs. Humans were much lower than us.

Museu Faller de Gandia is a small yet captivating museum that offers an insight into the annual Falles festival. It showcases exhibits related to the festival, including elaborate sculptures and colorful displays that adorn the streets during the festivities. Visitors can learn about the history of Las Fallas and its traditions, such as the pardoned ninots collection with audio guides explaining their significance.
Wow, what a terrific way to display the history of the Fallas. Staff were friendly and engaging. Tours were either self guided with electronic information or guided. Either option was easy and informative. If you visiting the city make sure you take time out of your day to visit this gem.

Good museum telling the history of Fallas. English translation. Only one other couple there. Allow about an hour, more if you want to read all the details!

Great place to visit to learnd the history. Guide was very helpful.
Sandy T — Google review
Amazing introduction to the tradition of Fallas! We took the self-guided audio tour. Very clear and detailed audio and written information on the exhibits and the history of Fallas. Free parking behind the museum, the ticket was €5 for adults, €4 for a child, well worth paying for! There is a cafe that serves food and drinks, and there are toilets as well.
Iuliana S — Google review
Great spot to learn a little more about Las Fallas and its history in Gandia. The staff is friendly and our girls enjoyed learning more about the falleras and their dresses. The collection of the “pardoned” ninots is housed here with an audio guide that explains the history, building methods and traditions. It is a smaller museum focused on local fallas history that is a fairly quick and enjoyable visit.
James L — Google review
Small museum dedicated to the "Fallas" in Gandia showing some of the figures saved at the end of the festival, the traditional costumes and the history including a digital recreation of the "mascletà" fireworks. The woman on the ticket desk also acted as a guide to some of the exhibits and couldn't have been more enthusiastic about something she clearly loves. Again, small, but definitely recommend.

Caverns & Caves
The Canelobre Caves, located near Alicante, are a stunning natural wonder with colorfully lit limestone formations. Visitors can take guided tours to explore the large vault and admire the impressive rock formations while learning about the history and science behind them in both Spanish and English. The cave is spacious with high ceilings, making it suitable for those who may be claustrophobic.
The Canelobre Caves are absolutely stunning and well worth a visit. The scale of the cave is breathtaking – the rock formations, stalactites, and stalagmites are beautifully lit, creating an almost cathedral-like atmosphere. The guided tour was informative, with just the right amount of history and geology explained, and it was easy to follow even if your Spanish isn’t perfect. Practical points: access is straightforward, parking is close by, and the facilities were clean and well kept. The views from outside the caves over the valley are also spectacular, so make sure to allow some time to enjoy them as well. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience for all ages – both educational and awe-inspiring. Highly recommended if you’re in the Alicante area.
Paul J — Google review
Spectacular cave! It's right on top of a mountain with spectacular views! Parking is limited so we could only park further down which is a ten minute walk up a steep hill. You have to go with a guide so there was a small wait before we were allowed in. The cave is one big space and you are guided down several levels to look at the cave from different angles. Our guide didn't speak English so used the playback recorder - there was a tiny bit of history but then mostly comparing the rocks to things - crocodile, whale and even a helmet. That stretched the visit out to around 50min. Would we go again? Probably not! Was it the best? Nope. But - it was cool inside and the views outside were incredible.
Anja B — Google review
Love a good cave and this one was well worth the visit. Tour was 40 minute long, we arrived at 11.10 the next tour was 11.40. Lots of schoolchildren were also doing tours but they are kept separate. Information was done in Spanish then English via a digital machine. There are lots of steps to go down to the bottom of the cave so a reasonable level of fitness is required. Car park spaces available next to the cave people tend to move on fairly quickly, also shop & snack bar. Toilets are also available. They take a photo of you with a picture of the caves as a backdrop & charge 6 Euros , it is presented in a nice folder that also has links to a concert in the cave along with a link to Busot village. The tickets prices 12 euro for adults 6 Euros for pensioners. There is a slope down to an exhibition with information boards and a film which you can chose to the language to listen to. It also has full length windows, views are amazing. Highly recommend Thank you to the brilliant guide. Your not supposed to take photos but I had already taken 3 before I was told not too. The views of the local area were absolutely stunning. The tickets included Busot instrument museum & Castle. Which are well worth the visit. Busot is known for it candle light festival. 🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️

Absolutely worth visiting! The tour of the caves was fascinating, full of history and interesting details thanks to a great guide. The views right before entering are breathtaking, and everyone we met was very friendly. A must-see if you’re visiting Busot!

A spectacular cave in the Alicante hills.. This is a great location for a day out, especially during the summer, because the temperatures stay around 18 degrees all year, so a welcome respite from the summer heat. The tours are every half hour and led by an informative guide. You must take a tour.. there is no unaccompanied access. Very well priced at around 8€ for adults and 5€ for kids. Quite a lot of steep stairs, so not for those less mobile. Outside there is a small visitor centre, souvenir shop, snack bar and amazing views to enjoy. You aren’t allowed to take photos or videos 😉 The local town of Busot has a musical museum which is included in your ticket entry, but the town also has a few great little restaurants and a small charm, so is nice to visit..
Andrew G — Google review
The cave is nice. The space accessible for visitors is not big. The guide was in Spanish and English. The view in front of the entrance to the cave is stunning.
Mária B — Google review
Very cool caves and history. We had an excellent guide, Noe (Noelia). Tour was in both Spanish and English, with enthusiasm and energy and very fun. At the end we could go to the original old entrance. The views from the parking area and picnic area are also fantastic. No photos or videos were allowed in the cave.
Stephanie D — Google review
It's a pretty big cave, just 1 chamber you get a guided tour of. Team were nice and they did an English translation. Was cool to see the people scaling the cliff face. Great views. Only 4 stars as the website gave the impression there was a walking route through the caves when this wasn't the case as we do prefer to freely wander through things usually. Parking is definitely an issue and not suitable if you have problems with stairs.

Wildlife and safari park
Water & Amusement Parks
Safari Aitana in Alicante offers a unique safari experience where visitors can see animals like elephants, giraffes, and even swimming tigers up close. The park allows self-guided or group tours by car, with the option to book a private tour with a comfortable van and guide. Visitors are allowed to leave their cars at designated stops where staff members provide information about the animals. This safari park is not a typical zoo but rather an expansive space for a sensorial experience with wildlife.
Well organized safari . Worth the money. Was €25 euro per person. Cars follow the guide and he stops and talks about each animal group. Lasts around 2 1/2 hours . You can also walk around an area before the safari gate and view the animals there on foot .
Colin M — Google review
Good place to spend with family ! Very close to see the animals. Was amazing to stand near the giraffe which was fed and take the photos! Friendly staff!
Diana N — Google review
I had a fantastic experience at this safari park. The staff are polite, friendly, and very professional. Everyone we interacted with spoke English, so if you don’t speak Spanish, you won’t have any problems. The park is home to a wide variety of animals, and you can see them from surprisingly close distances, which makes the whole visit really exciting. One important thing to know: the last chance to buy a ticket is at 4:00 PM, although the park itself remains open until 7:00 PM. Three hours is more than enough time to explore everything without feeling rushed. My personal recommendation is to arrive on a weekday just before the ticket office closes, around 3:40 PM. By that time the crowds have thinned out, so you won’t end up stuck in a line of cars, and you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy the park. Also, don’t miss the drive on the final stretch before you arrive. The road winds through the mountains, and the scenery is absolutely stunning — it really adds to the experience.
Igor T — Google review
I’m putting three stars as the personal was helpful and the safari ( first part of the experience) by itself is actually nice, animals enjoyed a lot of space and the local guide explained well. It just becomes sad when you see the Lion, wolves and tiger in relatively small cage. The highlight was to see a woman in a keffiyeh — symbol of anti-colonial struggle — sipping the view next to a Coca-Cola vending machine (aren’t they supposed to boycott that?). She’s taking photos of a meerkat in a cage while dressed in the attire of resistance. Paying for entry to a zoo, supporting capitalism, and snapping pictures of imprisoned animals… all while wearing a scarf that screams “freedom.” Modern activism looks a lot like selective outrage wrapped in tourist behavior. Hypocrisy, neatly packaged.
Yoyo W — Google review
If you’re looking for a unique wildlife experience, this zoo is an absolute gem. Even getting there feels like part of the adventure. The drive winds through a stunning mountain landscape with breathtaking views around every other corner. Just be aware that parts of the road are quite narrow and twisty, so take it easy and enjoy the scenery. Once you arrive, the experience really kicks off. You use your own car for a guided tour through the park, stopping at each animal area while the guide shares interesting facts in both Spanish and English. The tour begins with curious ostriches and ends with the majestic lions, and in between you’ll meet zebras, camels, water buffalo, wolves, and even tigers. It’s incredible to see these animals up close in such a natural setting. After the driving tour, there’s a smaller zoo area where the “little guys” live. This part is perfect for stretching your legs and wandering around. Here you’ll meet everything from lemurs to giant tortoises, and don’t miss Eddie the Lama – he’s a total charmer and loves meeting visitors. To make it even more magical, peacocks roam freely everywhere you go. They’re so beautiful and add to the special atmosphere. What really stands out here is how well the animals are cared for. The whole park is dedicated to protecting endangered species and rescuing animals that haven’t had the best start in life. You can tell the staff are passionate about what they do, and it’s reassuring to see the animals living in spacious, clean environments. A little tip: bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes. There’s quite a bit of walking involved, and it can get very warm, especially in summer. This place is an unforgettable experience for animal lovers and families alike. The combination of amazing animals, stunning surroundings, and a genuine focus on conservation makes it something special. Highly recommended – this is the kind of place you’ll want to tell all your friends about afterwards.
Henning K — Google review
We visit the Safari on Sunday it’s a long drive up to the mountains. Once you get there the drugstore will guide you to see all the animals. You can buy your tickets online or at the counter. The tour is for two hours

Love this place. Lots of interaction with the animals, friendly staff and nice cafe for after safari.

We took the guided tour and got a lot of info about the animals from the guide. The animals is in good condition but would like to see more greenery in the animals closure. Museo Cueva de Dragut, also known as Dragut's Caves, is a fascinating historical site in Cullera, Spain. These caves were once used as a hideout by the infamous Ottoman pirate Dragut during the 16th century. Situated along the coast of Cullera, this attraction offers visitors an intriguing look into the region's past. The natural cave is filled with artifacts such as swords, guns, and model boats from that era.
Hidden attractions near Cullera's Lighthouse. Stairs take you to the cafetería and entrance to the museum inside the cave. Guided tour is very good as guide explain the history of the pirates and artifacts in all underground chambers. It has a small ship with a broken mast. Guided tour ends with a lights and sound show of a storm at sea. It is a cool tour for the price. After visiting the cave we walked outside up to the hill to see a hermitage, a sculpture with two huge hands and a natural balcony to see the lighthouse from the distance.

Amazing cave! Totally different from all caves that I've been in. It's breathtaking, worth of visiting.
Natasa S — Google review
A curious place, well worth a visit, even if you are not interested in special effects and superficial pirate stories. It's a huge, peculiarly winding natural cave, quite atmospheric, and with a bit of imagination you can almost "see" bad old pirates hiding there in the mid-sixteenth century. There are many old artefacts - sables, guns, jugs models of boats etc. I was given an individual tour by an earnest young guide, in English. Pity I wasn't allowed to take photos. There is also a café by the entrance, which is rather handy.

I love this place and have visited a few times - always travelling on the dotto train (tren turistico) from Cullera beach (get on near Ale Hop). They've created a great experience building on the history of the invasion of the town by pirates. Not for those with mobility problems, since as far as I know the out way out is via some very steep stairs.

We went there in June 2019. 5 euros per adult and 3 for kids. Our 2 yo didn’t pay and we didn’t have to ask or show papers. We were lucky to be the only ones so we had the guide to ourselves. Visit was with a guide who did it in Spanish. He was nice but spoke a bit too quickly. The information in the cave is limited and the artefacts (swords and guns mostly) were alright but nothing impressive. We like the bergantine boat at the bottom. It was also nice to be away from the heat for 30-40 minutes. Kids enjoyed it but stairs can be steep.
