KING NAGA GOLF CLUB

Golf course
Outdoor Activities
We went during a typhoon and there was nobody there. Great golf course if you plan to be on the happy juice all day. 600/350/550 for Green/Caddy/Cart on a weekend.
Christopher M — Google review
Cheap golf and nice layout, but there are many other deals around that won't throw off your game... Poor grounds maintenance, overgrown fairways which still have clumps of grass from the last cutting. The greens are dry, but overgrown, which may be what is saving them. The bunkers are hard, not loose, and have puddles. If you get off the fairways beware of the red ants. The course and grounds could be turned around fairly easily, but it would require some constant work and time.
J L — Google review
Course has been closed since at least January 2021. Buildings around the course (hotel, apartments, Condos?) have been abandoned for much longer than that. Some, very little, maintenance was being done in mid-2021 but now looks like it may be permanently closed.
Greg R — Google review
Great layout, ok greens, a bit untidy fairways, but a good golf experience considering the price. I paid 1400 Baht on a Sunday (september 2020) all-in including cart. As always in Thailand, beware of the odd 6-ball, as my photo shows
Stig S — Google review
Nice little golf course. Greens ok. Fairways a little rough shape. Not many customers. Green fee caddy cart 1200 baht on a Sunday. Will definitely play again
Jay B — Google review
The layout of the course is excellent. Poor maintenance, overgrown fairways/ tees, green speeds vairable, mostly slow. Caddies friendly. Baht 1,000 all in. Clubhouse/ restaurant/ outside toilets very shabby.
Tom B — Google review
Good layout. Interesting course. Greens are wooly and not nice to putt on. Fairways are ok, but rough and areas surrounding the greens are in poor condition. It is practically impossible to run a ball onto the green from the rough. Locker rooms are in poor condition, but as it is a "cheap" golfing option in the vicinity of Pattaya, it is worth the occasional visit
Mats H — Google review
Beautiful layout. Old fashion Thai golf course which is getting better for every month. Good value. Good and nice caddies. The course can be granat in a couple of months. They have made big efforts on the greens the last months.

Suphattraland

Nature & Parks
Garden
Theme Parks
Suppatraland is a fascinating destination that features a tram ride through an orchard with an abundance of exotic tropical fruits to relish. The venue boasts a variety of delectable fruits, including the highly-anticipated durian that's set to begin its buffet by the end of April. Despite undergoing closure due to COVID-19, the facilities are still decent and being refurbished.
It was the off-season, but we had fun renting the rides. There were two kinds of fruit growing there, which we were able to pick and eat.
Poporon 2 — Google review
120฿ Tickets for garden tour. You can got 50฿ coupons and can use to order coffee or drinks in coffee shop. Overall is good, to see the Thai fruit.
Paripat P — Google review
Durian Buffet! Only 799 THB per person for 4 hours of all-you-can-eat! Besides durians, there are also other tropical fruits and cooked food—take your time and enjoy. The package also includes a tour of the orchard, and there are great photo spots nearby. Definitely worth a visit!
Vincent C — Google review
Did the tour through the farm exploring fruits, sampled honey and cough syrup, ended with a great lunch by the waterfall and an interesting little zip line for kids. Nice day

Suphatraland, Rayong is a place every agriculturist, farmer, or any individual related to field of agriculture and crop cultivation. It has a all round cultivation of international quality fruits such as Mangosteen, Rambutan, Salak and King of fruits-- Durian. Also , it has naturally well kept and maintained hydroponics polyhouses and natural apiaries. 👍💯 Great and insightful experience, must visit
Ajinkya S — Google review
Recommend to book the tickets before enter, the park is very strict on number of visitors to the park. The park is massive and we were place on the park designated vehicle that takes us around the park with explanations of each plant. Towards the end of our tour, the driver drop us off at where the buffet food was. There we can have as much fruits (including durian). As a durable lover, I would say the quality of durian at the park is not as good as the durian that you could get from the market.
Katethip V — Google review
This place is 450rai garden with lots of fruit trees and herbal center. Fruit picking. 650 bhat entry fee. The carts could pickup to locations. Unlimited Buffett available inside with fruits, BBQ, mini donuts and papaya salad.
Pattanasamy C — Google review
Interesting place to visit 🥭🍋🍇🥕🍒 Lot of fruit, big one with good taste Fruit buffet starts at the end of April (wait for durian) ok facilities, will need to be refurbished after COVID closure. Passione Shopping Destination

Mentioned on
1 list
Shopping mall
Shopping
3-story indoor mall with retail, a movie theater, kids’ play areas & an international food court.
Great shopping mall next to Holiday Inn & Suites Hotel Rayong. We found many restaurants to eat at and shop a little.
Wayne C — Google review
Nice mall. They had several banks that were open until 18:00 or 19:00 on a Sunday. But bring your passport if you want to exchange currency. They had a food court on the upper floor and in the basement like lower level. The prices seemed really reasonable, but the food courts kinda seemed weirdly quiet. Many restaurants to pick from, but much more expensive than the food court.
DK K — Google review
I like this mall. On the bottom floor there is a food court. Level up shops and more dining area, and some shops. You can fine nice clothes and shoes here . There is Big C with big variety of products and nice prices. Bathrooms always very clean.
Adam K — Google review
I really like The Passione Shopping Destination. It is not huge and grand like Central Plaza as an example but it is beautifully presented; but it still is big and it still is glamorous. I particularly liked the areas that had been designed to look like an up/market market. Shops flowed from one place to another often having areas rather than four walls. The decor was pleasing to the eye and there was a very large selection of different shops on offer. The food court or area, also meandered throughout half the ground floor but never giving you that ‘food court’ feeling. It probably housed the widest selection of international cuisine I have seen. At one end there is a Big C Supercentre, a worthwhile store in its own right. A shopping centre a little different but well worth the effort.
James M — Google review
Nice mall. Big C anchors it. Lots of brand name stores with great pop ups throughout the mall. SF movie theater is on the top floor and a great theater.
Mike S — Google review
I stay at Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong, which is connected with this shopping mall. Therefore, I go to this mall many times. I believe this mall is better than Terminal 21 or most of other shopping malls in Thailand. There are a lot of discounts ongoing throughout the whole year. The quality and price are pretty good for shopping. There is a cinema on the 3rd floor.
행복하게 살 — Google review
Passion mall is good one at Rayong. It has variety of shopping stores and restaurants and movie theater. It has kids playing stations, fitness, medical and IT stores. There are offices for water, electric Bill and national ID card. Most of the Banks and Mobil service providers available. Overall better than Central Rayong.
Pattanasamy C — Google review
Medium-sized mall with BigC, a supermarket on Lvl 2. F&B & fast food outlets at the 1st Lvl and many mobile phone kiosks on Lvl 2. Sadly, Swensen's at this place does not serve fish n chips... 😥

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Suan Si Mueang, formerly a site for executions, has been transformed into a public park featuring the famous Buddha image of Rayong, Phra Phuttha Angkhirot. The park offers various recreational facilities such as football fields and walking paths along the river. It is well-maintained and equipped with playgrounds for children and free exercise equipment. Visitors can enjoy picnics, sports activities, or simply take a leisurely stroll in this picturesque city park.
Very clean and with good maintenance park. Great to practice some sports or make a picnic. Not allowed pets here.
Lucas P — Google review
This park has a wide range of facilities for recreational use. Many fitness workstations, football pitches, basketball courts, and running tracks. There are also several children's play areas and a skateboard zone. In parts of the park, trees provide ample shade, and there is plenty of seating. There is also a small shrine surrounded by a moat, although there was no water in the moat when I visited.
Miles M — Google review
Local healthy garden with running course (500m per 1 round), and good environment
Weerapat C — Google review
Pleasant and attractive, not for the gym nerd only; family friendly.
Eric L — Google review
You can run or walk on a path along the river or can change it up and make your own trail. It's a little crowded with all the stalls along the walkway which used to be extra running space but if you don't mind that I'd say go check it out.
CORNE A — Google review
Lovely central city park with a picturesque canal embankment and variety of fitness equipment.

Wangjuntr Golf Park

Golf course
Outdoor Activities
Very nicely maintained golf course, beautiful holes and good caddies. Slightly dated clubhouse. Arrive early if playing there as the other courses can be spread out away from the clubhouse and Valley course. The highland course takes a 20 min ride up in the mountains. There is an abundance of nature and wildlife along the courses. Jungle course is currently closed.
J L — Google review
Stayed overnight at the hotel .. room is good but the bed is like a . Played the valley course. It is a good layout. But is in serious need of more maintenance . The greens are true but patchy. We were the only 2 Players on the course. A lot of peacocks around the area and Deer all around the course. Was a good experience but is expensive for the condition of the course.
Curly M — Google review
Visit after 4 years, we played the Lake course for the first time and we really liked it, interesting holes, each one different, so they won't blend into one whole, but you'll remember each one nicely. Looking at the facilities, which are not used much by customers, everything is clean and the staff and caddies are pleasant. The interesting thing is the strong connection with nature, not every course has deer walking on the fairway, but you can't tell from the quality of the course. Almost all greens are difficult, it is played at an excellent price, I highly recommend it.
Petr H — Google review
A fascinating place. 60 minutes from Pattaya. I played the valley course, and the people were very open about the conditions for ฿1100. All in, it's still a great round. Every single hole is different from the next, so listen to the caddies as a GPS isn’t the best at the course They have no bunkers on the course, which is better as most courses don’t look after the bunkers. Fairways are lift pick and place but have enough give to hit off. Greens are very slow, very, very big and not in the best condition. My caddie was excellent and very knowledgeable about the course and the layout. Have a game or two here; it’s worth it
Ben F — Google review
Always fantastic course conditions. Somewhat challenging holes. Nice variety of water and trees.. lots of wildlife. Definitely an enjoyable experience
Mark W — Google review
Beautiful course. On Valley Course, you will find lots of deers around hold 11-15.

The four 18-Golf courses are excellent. The Jungle Course and the Highland Course are hard and beautiful. The views are amazing. The restaurant at the club is good. The hotel is ok. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Suan Lamai

Garden
Food & Drink
Serene mountainside gardens featuring exotic fruit trees & plants, tours & a fruit buffet.
The entrance is cheap, there is a lot of diferent animals you can play whit and feed for cheap. There is easy access to the bathroom and there is both an indoor and outdoor café plus extra places you can have picnic if you want. There is also a lot of things you can take foto whit your friends or family.
Johan N — Google review
Well well, another cattle herding facility: not recommended. Busses of big groups. Ticket counters and waiting areas. Factory-like processing of tourists. Mass feeding on fruit buffets. See a fruit orchard from the safe seat of your train. No need to walk or move. Buffet is decent - but you better eat a lot to make it worth the money. Specials like Durian are extra. The fruit itself is really delicious. Would I come back? Definitely NOT!
Matt ( — Google review
We booked an all-you-can-eat durian tour for 35 people, but the experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the staff made us wait in line for over an hour. When it was finally our turn, we were told that the durian had run out and were offered fried chicken instead. To make matters worse, they attempted to charge us half the price we originally paid for the durian tour. I strongly recommend staying away from this place—you could end up in the same situation.
M R — Google review
Nice Place in a Valley surrounded with Hills and Trees. Fruit Farm, Sheep Farm, Restaurants, Coffe Shop, Caravan Park for Accommodation and many more. Waiting for enjoy the Fruit Buffet if the Season starts.
Lebua T — Google review
Come here to introduce your self Durian, Rambutan and some other exotic fruits in the fruit season. You get fruits, salads and chicken thighs buffet with ticket B, for 350 bahts. with ticket A, higher priced, you get durians as well. Tram Bus takes you to the buffet, that is first stop later, tour around the farm. You can take pictures with Durian trees. There is a sheep farm next to it also. Camping and caravanning you can do here, there is a small pond next to it. But I didn't find durian sold here cheap. It was 250 per kg. Normally 150 right in the centre of Pattaya where farmers sell direct to consumers.
Sonny K — Google review
Suan Lamai (sheep farm) is a very large garden and farm that grows a diverse range of fruits and flowers. One can easily spend most of a day exploring the area. You can purchase fresh produce, flowers or feed the sheep. There are several places to eat, indoors and outside. Dress comfortably and wear. Comfortable shoes or sandals. Be prepared to walk a lot. The terrain is hilly, but there are buses to take you to the higher areas. A beautiful and fun place to visit.
David D — Google review
I have to admit we did not spend too much time to explore the gardens. But it is a nice place to shoot some pictures. We also did visit the coffee shop, but I did not like my coffee Americano wasn't delicious and the muffin was heated up too much. A little disappointing.
Fokke A — Google review
Campervan in Rayong area. If you want to get cheaper proce better to book during weekdays and prevent to go there during summer otherwise you will get severe sunburn. If you are concerning about halal food, you better prepare the raw materials by yourself.

Brookside Valley Resort & Strawberry Town

Mentioned on

Resort hotel
Sights & Landmarks
Brookside Valley Resort & Strawberry Town is a tranquil resort located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, surrounded by a beautiful landscape that provides ample locations for photo shoots. The resort offers warm and comfortable accommodations at an affordable price per night. It features restaurants, an outdoor pool, and a play area for kids, making it ideal for families, schools or groups visiting Rayong.
Though many facilities on the premises are closed and some are not maintained for many years since before Covid, it's still perfect for a lover of white vacation, full if activities, walking, jogging, biking, etc , as there are many kilometers of roads and tracks here, along with very comfortable accommodation of various choices, starting from three types of hotel multi-stiry buildings to holiday homes and even caravan trailers.
V K — Google review
Quite far from the city, the not too well aging resort has seen better days. Bungalows are somewhat run down and in bad shape but still can enjoy the quietness and the natural environment. The restaurant is decent and simple. The food's all right.
One E — Google review
For the full review, please watch my video on YouTube (@Maryna.Thailand_walk ). It is a very beautiful and unique resort! Brookside Valley Resort looks like a fairytale European-style village set in nature. The grounds are spacious with a scenic lake, little bridges, and colorful houses — perfect for walking around and taking photos. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception desk, but there was a phone number provided. We called, and a staff member came quickly, handed us the key, and we checked in by ourselves. Everything went smoothly and without any issues. We stayed in a family room with a lake view, and it was spacious, clean, and cozy. The hotel has a restaurant where we had both dinner and breakfast. For breakfast, there were five set menu options to choose from: one was an American breakfast, and the others were Thai dishes. Everything was tasty and filling. It’s a great place to relax away from the city, especially if you’re looking for peace, nature, and beautiful surroundings. We would definitely love to come back again!
Maryna Y — Google review
Beautiful European theme park that is free to visit. Too bad most shops were not open when we arrived. Still neat and worth a quick stop if you are in Rayong.
Numm S — Google review
Perfect to stay.. Room is huge and nice.. The location is quite. If you want to relax and have a good family day this js the place. The land is huge and you can do some activity. The place looks like you are in other country or in the switzerland..
Pinoy F — Google review
Good and quiet location with views of the mountain and a nice man-made lake. The accommodations are a bit old and dusty. Some areas in the resort need a facelift. But overall it's still good especially for camping activities.
Arnold G — Google review
A good place to stay to explore the nearby rayong attractions. The resort itself is nice to explore and we mostly covered all of it in half a day, with boating, zip line and treetop style strenuous adventure. The drive around the resort is also quite nice with un and down hills on a straight road. Would be nice to cycle on as well. It has great value as well!
Vijay S — Google review
The hotel room in the resort was okay. It was spacious. The bed didn't add any pains to my back when sleeping, so it's good enough. The bathroom was okay; the water heater took a minute before functioning properly. The only problem was that the room was located so far away from the lobby so it took ages ofvwalking to get things like hot water. The resort itself offers a great restaurant, photogenic European-style buildings, and adventurous sports. So, it's a perfect place for friends and family whose member might have different cups of tea.

Rayong Aquarium

Mentioned on

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Rayong Aquarium is a well-organized and educational exhibition center that offers an array of fish and sea animals, as well as informative exhibits on the fishing industry. The facility is suitable for families looking for a fantastic experience with their children, allowing them to step away from phone games and gain knowledge about marine life. The entry fee of 30 THB is relatively cheap compared to the value it provides. The aquarium has English names in all exhibitions and continues to improve its facilities.
I was completely surprised by how much I enjoyed this aquarium. Not only is the price fair and reasonable for everyone (30 baht), it’s informative in English & Thai and was a real pleasure to walk through. If you are in the area would definitely recommend. The only negative was the toilets were out of order.
S J — Google review
This is a cool place to visit in Rayong. Lots of fish and underwater creatures on display. For 30 baht only, it’s fantastic. However I think they could increase the price and just maintain the place a bit better. But still for 30 baht you see quite a lot!
Shayan N — Google review
Beautiful small aquarium with lots of cool fish, jellyfish and sharks. Perfect for kids and adults! Great for a quick afternoon stop.
Katie R — Google review
Second visit, good value cat just 30 baht entry fee for adults. Highlight is the perspex tunnel taking you through and below the huge saltwater tank displaying a variety of large sea fish. Further along sea turtles can be viewed from both underwater or from above outdoors. Interesting static displays about sea fishing and conservation, plus many smaller tanks containing sealife. We arrived on a Saturday morning for 10am opening there were already many people waiting but entry was fast and peopldxsoon love along through the exhibits. Recommended.
GC J — Google review
It's a compact aquarium with numerous types of fish. It can take a good 10-15 minutes to briefly go through the aquarium. The popular area to take pictures is the tunnel. You are lucky if you have a picture without the group in the background or forground
Marvin H — Google review
Nice place to visit with kids, the premises are well maintained and have a variety of aquatic animals. Entry fees are 30 THB for adults, 10 THB for kids up to 15 years old. Free entry for people below 120 cms and Thai nationals above 60 years. Parking is available in the vicinity.
Akshay H — Google review
Small local aquarium with dedicated sea turtle pool at the entrance. This is a unique aquarium in its own right due to most exhibits being commercial fishery stocks except the turtle pool. Giant garoupa tank is cool to stroll down the tunnel. Super cheap fee at ฿30/ adult, a mere ฿10/child.
Krittaya — Google review
A great place to take gkur children to when in town. Entrance fee is less than $1 and it aquarium has a decent amount of fish and underwater sea life to enjoy for a good 1 to 1:30hrs for you and your family when in Rayong.

Prao Beach, situated on the west coast of Koh Samet Island, is a serene and luxurious destination with palm-fringed white sandy shores and crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life. This popular spot offers complete facilities and a limited number of high-end accommodation options, making it an ideal choice for those seeking exclusivity. Prao Beach is renowned for its breathtaking sunset views and tranquil atmosphere, as it is not crowded with bars but rather features large upscale resorts.
This beach is a fairly quiet beach and not crowded by tourists. There is a few big resorts here in the upper price range. The water here is beautiful and clear and great for snorkeling and swimming and you can rent snorkels here. It is abit away from the major tourist area so maybe hire a motorbike to get here like we did. Beautiful area overall.
GREGORY E — Google review
On April 16th, I had the chance to visit Ao Phrao with my family. We traveled there by motorcycle. Although the sunlight around 10 a.m. was quite intense, the cool breeze made everything feel more refreshing. The atmosphere at Ao Phrao was peaceful and serene. The sea water was clear, allowing us to see the sandy bottom. The blue of the ocean contrasted beautifully with the green of the surrounding trees. We took a stroll along the beach for a while. This bay is perfect for relaxing or swimming in the sea. We also had time to capture some lovely shots of the sea and sky, which looked bright and vivid at that time of day. If you're planning to visit in the late morning or during the day, it’s best to bring a hat and sunscreen, as the sun can be quite strong. But if you prefer a more pleasant and cooler atmosphere, early morning or late afternoon would be more suitable. Since there aren't many shops around Ao Phrao, it's a good idea to bring your own drinking water or snacks.
Poramaa W — Google review
The perfect beache to enjoy a beautiful sunset. The water was crystal clear and the beach clean. Less crowded than a few others I was at. Also, walk on the ramp to go a bit further into the sea for a better experience as well.

Went there for the sunset. Nice beach with many people but not too crowded. Clear sea and white sand but be careful when walking in the sea as there are many rocks and I got cut on my toes. But overall, it was great!
Thitikan K — Google review
Very nice beach on the west side of Koh Samed where you can enjoy a nice sunset. Shame the high tide brings many plastic debris on the shore. As this is a natural park island I think they could keep it beeter. Maybe they could use part of the entrance fees (200 thb per tourist) to do some more regular beaches cleaning up. There's also some wild life around. A monitor lizard passed by whilst we were enjoying our time on the beach
Jonathan P — Google review
Spent the day here, beach lovey and clean and water cycstal clear. All the sunbeds on the beach belong to hotels, so take a towel. We spent the day at the mid point restaurant, and they did not complain. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and romantic, this beach is ideal.

Lovely place to just relax with a drink. Oh coconut ice-cream with mango was to die forb

Ao Wai, located on the southern part of Koh Samet, is a serene and secluded beach with only one resort, offering a peaceful escape from crowded tourist spots. The bay boasts clear blue waters and a beautiful white sandy beach surrounded by shady trees. Visitors can enjoy the calm waves and hire mats for the beach at the resort. Additionally, there's a restaurant where you can savor delicious meals and drinks while taking in the stunning views.
Great beach to relax. It's not a private beach but access via a resort so you might have to buy some drinks or food from them, which is fine. Toilet and shower are clean and again if yoi don't stay there, just have to pay 20 baht for toilet and 50 for shower. It's worth visiting for sure!
Thitikan K — Google review
Just stunning, what a beautiful beach to visit. Clean sands, clear beautiful water. A very well kept private resort. Restaurants, live music, calm and polite staff to great at every facility. I went there just to enjoy some lunch and a walk on the beach. So so beautiful and very well priced for the outlook and feel. Highly recommend to explore the island when staying on Koh Samed as there some hidden treasures. A little hard to find but Google maps will get you there.
JohnnieVintage — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches on the island – peaceful, cosy, and truly paradise-like. Very few tourists, which makes it even more special. From here, you can spot amazing fish while snorkeling near the rocks, as there are endless corals. The coral beach is simply stunning!
Célia K — Google review
Wow this beach is divine!!! Crystal clear water, white sand, like taken from a movie, getting there by a “Songram”, there is a “restaurant” in the beach - pricey then usual, going back is a bit hard since no timetable known for the songram.
Yossi K — Google review
Beautiful place, lovely to swim and relax. There were more facilities then I had expected including inviting Restaurants. I would love to come back here and spend more time.
Marc H — Google review
Great beach - some of the cleanest water I’ve swum in in Thailand and that includes islands like Koh Tao and Koh Kood. Water was great temperature and sand buttery soft. There is a resort attached to the beach which knocks out a relatively decent meal and isn’t too badly priced.
Andrew M — Google review
Good beach but the stupidity of other tourists is amazing for example it's a 100m long beach and other tourist screaming when talking will park up 5m away from you

Very nice and quite beach. There is a resort on the beach and one restaurant managed by the resort. No sunbeds but enough shade under trees.

Ao Wong Duean National Park fee booth is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The beach is known for its cleanliness, tranquility, and various activities. Visitors can enjoy reasonably priced food from local stalls and vendors offering grilled chicken and fresh fruit. The area is family-friendly with clean beaches suitable for kids, while parents can relax at the restaurants with nice music. The beach offers a quieter atmosphere compared to other areas on the island, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Most Thai people like to come here the beach is reasonable long clean and quite many activities food is reasonably priced. In the evening you can relax on the beach platform have a beer and dinner and below you the tide splashes against the beach. This place is cool.
Edmond T — Google review
The beach is beautiful and perfect if you want to do nothing very much, you can walk about hundreds of yards and still just be up to your waist in warm water, and there''s nothing to see, dead coral, a few unexceptional fish and that''s it. There is paragliding and ski jets if that''s your thing, and a couple of decent restaurants
Ravi T — Google review
CHANGED A LOT!! We used to come here the last few years and now it changed. They built a speed boat terminal to bring more tourists like this. What a shame we came here for the beautiful quiet beach and now it’s noisy almost all day! They rent as well jet skis which make it even worse. Some speed boats don’t even stop at the terminal, they drive straight to the beach for the spoiled tourists. So you have the smell of gasoline and burned fuel while sitting on the beach or having dinner. Too bad, for us it was the last time here I will have to tell my friends as well.

Ko Samet

Nature & Parks
Ko Samet, also known as Koh Samed, is a picturesque island off the coast of Rayong province in Thailand. The island is renowned for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs. Travelers can reach Ko Samet by bus, car, minibus from Bangkok or by taking a flight to Rayong province followed by a ferry ride to the island.
I've been coming to Koh Samed for some years now. It's a very unique little island with so many beautiful spots to visit. 200 baht to get onto the island via the pier and then super easy to walk into town cetre discovering eateries, bars, scooter hire, convenience stores and accommodation options along the way. Yes dirty and raw in same ares and repects but just stunning in others. The real beauty though is found exploring the island. You won't find an ATM so bring cash however I did find 3 cash exchange facilities in the town centre all located relatively close to eachother. I think the best exchange rate at the time was offered by Mossman House. You can also use your card and take out Thai Baht with " I think" a 5% ser charge. Personally I like to visit different resorts and relax at their facility with a quiet drink or a meal. Live music in the evenings and a fire shows certainly make it a fun event. I found the food and drinks to be very well priced with lots of options to accommodate different tastes. Do yourselves a favour and explore the island. It really is stunning. Lots of off the beaten path stops along the main road when heading out to the (must see) view point. I hope some of my photos and videos give you a glimpse of what's on offer. Accommodation can be found ranging so diverse to suite any traveler. I think Koh Samet is still an untapped beautiful island.
JohnnieVintage — Google review
Beautiful island with a small village and incredible set of resorts on semi private beaches. Island has all amenities. I visited in March and it was moderately full (I heard it was more crowded in the past.) 200THB fee to enter the island as it's a national park. My only 2 complaints: There are no ATMs on the island but a couple of restaurants (incl Rice Soup Restaurant next to 7-11 will give you cash back on your card for 5%). Motorbiking on the island is not fun as the main road through the island has speed bumps every 100m.
Noah L — Google review
If you ask me which beach is closest to Bangkok and the best, I would recommend this one. It's peaceful, the sea and sand are clean, the water is beautiful, and the food and accommodation prices are reasonable and not too expensive. If I have a short break from my work. This place is where I go. 🫶🏽✨️

Didn't know what to expect but it was fabulous. Not crowded no big hotels lots of boutique hotels. Food was great and inexpensive. Will be returning to this gem.

The most beautiful island I have seen till now. Small island, not so crowded. You can cover the island by walking if you are habituated in walking.
Arpita M — Google review
Koh Samet is a beautiful island, but the expenses here are higher than on the islands near Pattaya. They even charge an entrance fee of 200 baht per person for foreigners. Also, there are no streetlights along the sides of the roads at night, which feels a little bit creepy. Anyway it is still worth visiting.
Snow G — Google review
No need to visit. Tourist trap. The island is dirty, beaches are not the best, a lot of oil and trash. Very inconvenient for tourists: 1) you need to pay 200 thb just for the entrance. (For thai person it's 5 times cheaper). Pretending to be a National Park they just take money. I feel it's more about corruption here. A lot of NP staff doing nothing, very rude, arrogant. After 18:00 many places are prohibited to visit. 2) most of the good beaches are private (entrance is prohibited) or hotel area (land is private, you need to have dinner at the restaurant to visit the beach). The main beach maybe is nice during some season, but in May is was not super good, full with small pieces of plastic trash, oil (the island still cannot recover), water is not transparent because of waves/sand. 3) Bike rent is super expensive, they charge 400 thb per day including petrol. (normal price in thailand 250 without petrol). But the island is so small, that you will not spend more than 20 thb for gasoline per day. 4) there is a local songthaew (bus). The price is 20-60 thb per person, every hour. That is good. But the drivers are tricky: they start from the pier 5 min before a boat comes, so tourists who just arrived need to take a taxi or wait for 1 hour till the next bus. So, one driver goes empty as a bus while his colleagues work as taxi. So, I have a strange feeling about the island, as a scam trap. I will not come back here again. I think local administration cannot manage it well, providing their relatives with easy "job" as National Park employees.

A statue of the famed Thai poet, plus a pool & 3 other sculptures, in a park dedicated to him.
I was there for Sunthon Phu day which was an event for about two weeks. The atmosphere was like walking street. Stalls selling food and beverages are the more than shops selling clothes and the other goods.

A monument for one of the greatest poets in Thai history that is sadly not in a great condition.

HTMS Prasae Memorial Park

Memorial park
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The HTMS Prasae Memorial is a tribute to Thailand's naval history, honoring the royal warship HTMS Prasae that played a vital role in the nation's defense during World War II. Visitors can explore this historic vessel and learn about its significance to the Royal Thai Navy. The memorial park surrounding the ship offers a pleasant garden and beach area for leisurely walks. While ongoing maintenance is evident, future plans include opening up more areas of the battleship for public exploration.
We really liked it. You can climb onto the ship and take some nice photos. But you probably won't stay there for more than 30 minutes. There was also an exhibition room, but it was closed when we were there at around 4.30 pm on a Wednesday. No idea if it's normally open.
Ess A — Google review
A really interesting visit. It was unfortunate the museum was not open the day we visited however the major of information is available on line. Great local restaurants too.

Can have a lovely family outing. Ship can be visited (food not allowed inside the ship and must follow the visitors path). HTMS Prasae Memorial: Honoring Thailand's Naval Heritage The HTMS Prasae Memorial, dedicated to the royal warship HTMS Prasae, stands as a testament to Thailand's rich naval heritage and history. This historic vessel played a crucial role in the defense of the nation and is now preserved as a symbol of pride and remembrance. HTMS Prasae was originally built during World War II and served the Royal Thai Navy with distinction. The ship's history is intertwined with significant events in Thailand's modern history, including its role in the Franco-Thai War and various peacekeeping missions. After its retirement, it was lovingly preserved and transformed into a museum to honor its legacy. Visiting the HTMS Prasae Memorial allows you to step back in time and explore the ship's various compartments, such as the engine room, living quarters, and weaponry. The well-preserved artifacts and exhibits provide a glimpse into the life of naval personnel and the challenges they faced during different eras. The memorial also offers insights into Thailand's maritime history, the evolution of its naval forces, and the importance of naval defense. It's a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts, naval enthusiasts, and anyone interested in understanding Thailand's contributions to regional security. Additionally, the scenic location of the memorial, often overlooking the sea, adds to the overall experience. It's a place where you can reflect on the significance of naval defense in Thailand's history while enjoying the picturesque surroundings. In conclusion, the HTMS Prasae Memorial is a remarkable tribute to the naval heritage of Thailand. It preserves the legacy of the HTMS Prasae and, by extension, the dedication and sacrifices of those who served on it. A visit to this memorial is not only educational but also a chance to pay homage to the nation's maritime history.

It’s good that you can go up to upperdeck of battleship. The battleship need maintenance ASAP. There are canvas roof on the ship upper deck but almost half of all canvas are deteriorate and gone. Some metal ladder are unstable to step on too. The gardan around battleship is great and can walk through the beach.

Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park is a serene natural area that offers challenging paths through mountains, jungles, and scenic waterfalls. It's only a two-hour drive from Pattaya and provides fresh air for visitors. However, during the rainy season, it can be dangerous, so caution should be exercised before embarking on any trekking activities.
Wow what an experience!!! The way up is not some prepared trail, it really is a climb! Such a satisfaction to reach top, where the most spectacular waterfall is. We just sat and rested for about 15 minutes meditating before climbing back down. Of course it rained along the way and we were drenched even with ponchos. As you can see from the photo, what was a dry trail on the way up became a waterfall on the way down, which we had to traverse, no other route. To climb the top you must be physically fit, but, most folks would just go part way and bathe in one of the many beautiful pools.

Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park Named after two mountains and designated as a national park in 1975, Khao Chamao - Khao Wong National Park is a very small national park covering an area of 84 km². The forest covering the national park is part of a much bigger forest complex including many other protected sites in Thailand and Cambodia. The park is situated mainly in Rayong Province and a smaller part in Chanthaburi Province. It is a popular destination for its waterfalls, viewpoint, caves, limestone mountains, cliffs and hiking possibilities. The mountains of the national park reach an elevation of about 1,000 meters asl, covered with broad-leaved evergreen forests on higher altitudes. The montane forests are the source of water that flows down to Prasae River, providing surrounding agricultural areas with water. The central south-east of Thailand where the park is located has rainy season from May till October, cold season November to February and hot season March to April. Wildlife Despite the small size, thanks to the extension of the mountain range and adjacent protected sites, the park has some exciting animals to offer. Animal sighting is very rare on low elevations near the villages and along the trails to the waterfalls due to high amount of daily visitors, but deeper inside the park and specially on higher altitudes animals like elephants, gaurs, Indochinese serows, bears, leopards, leopard cats, pileated gibbons, banded langurs and boars can be found. There are about 40 confirmed bird species in the park of which some are; blue pittas, brown wood owls, Van Hasselt's sunbirds, Siamese firebacks, great hornbills, common hill mynas, lineated barbets, Indochinese rollers and thick-billed green pigeons. Visiting The park is very popular among local tourists and can be extremely busy on holidays and week-ends during the high season. Even on normal days during the rainy seasons a lot of tourists may show up. The visitor center area is located around 70 km from both Rayong and Chanthaburi towns and nearly 125 km from Pattaya, only 1 km off from highway 3377. There is a spacious campsite, accommodations, various facilities, 2 restaurants and a few kiosks mainly selling beverages in the campsite from 8 am until 4:30 pm. There are few other restaurants outside the park towards the main road, these can be open up until 6 pm to 8 pm depending on day of the week or amount of seasonal tourist activity, busier times are normally week-ends. Getting there & stay There are no public services to the national park. It is possible to arrange a private transportation to the park from most hotels, hotel reception teams will gladly call and arrange a driver for you for various prices. There is no need for a guided tour as the trails are relatively short and well signposted. Drive from Pattaya, Rayong and Chanthaburi Take Sukhumvit road (east from Pattaya or Rayong and west from Chanthaburi) until Thung Khwai Kin and turn north to Khao Chamao (highway 3377) where you will see a signpost to Khao Chamao. Drive about 16 km until you see a signpost to Khao Chamao Waterfall. Turn right and drive another 1 km until you reach the checkpoint. Entrance fees & opening times As of June 2022, the entrance fees are 200 Baht for adults and 100 Baht for children 3-14 years old. Thai citizens pay 40 Baht for adults and 20 Baht for children. When staying inside the park in park accommodations or at the campsites, the same ticket can be used for 3 days/2 nights, otherwise, for multiple visits from outside, new tickets must be obtained on every entrance. Khao Chamao - Khao Wong National Park is open 8:30 am to 4 pm every day. Stay & eat There are 17 accommodation options in the visitor center area, from 600 Baht with fans only, 800 Baht with a/c for two people and 1,200 Baht with a/c for 4 people. There are only two large ones at Klong Pla Kang Waterfall area for 3,000 Baht per night, for 23 people. A significant discount will apply when booked for Mon-Thu.

Very clean and well maintained park, clearly renovated recently. Waterfalls are midsized, and trekking requires special attire, such as mountain shoes - it's not easy to walk up stepping on wet stones rather than on a track.

Known for its golden hues, this dense mangrove forest can be explored by boardwalk trails or boat.
Well Protected Mangrove , 2 KM Nature trail on walking board with view towers and lot photo points . 50 THB person boat ride from entrance to sea side and back to entrance, hosted by local fisherman.Fantastic. 2-3 hr ,either in morning or evening, is suggested.

I would rate this higher but the 2km boardwalk ends at about 600m due to maintenance. I hope they actually do complete the work and reopen. The small distance I walked was enjoyable with a number of viewing platforms.

Went around 11AM and it’s super hot. Highly recommend going in the evening instead. The vibe is nice, walking in the mangrove part, but be careful of the broken boardwalk. Going on a boat tour along the mangrove is so serene. The boat also takes you to the sea and it costs only 50 bht per person. The uncle giving the tour is friendly and provides interesting info of the animals in there.

This was now a big let down. We were here about 8 years ago and I comended this place as one of the best sustainable tourism projects in Thailand. It's a shame what it looks today and is a showcase of what is happening when no mainatenace is done. The beautiful wooden walkways are in broken condition and only about 200 meter of the overall more than 2km are still walkable. So sad!
Felix G — Google review
Beautiful views and we had a great experience! A little neglected though. The bats made it worth it!

Nice place. But rundown, though. Needs some attention as the boardwalk are missing planks, and some sections are now closed off to the public.

Great natural setting and cheap kayak rental. One can spend hours roaming the mangrove swamps. Fantastic chance for the young and old to learn about mangrove conservation.

Great place, you can take a boat ride too only (50 bahts). Wooden walking boards all through out, some goes through swamp under trees, some green scenery, lots to walk to about 2 miles to go to ship, 20-40 minutes for the other side. Lots of photo opportunities. Recommended for peace of mind. Has protected trees I'm guessing as some trees has labels on them.

Had a great visit here today with girlfriend and Thai family. Lots of exotic animals to see and feed. The conditions seem good and the animals are well fed. This is a great place to bring kids or for a date if you're in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
M S — Google review
The place had a nice, open feel to it and wasn't too packed on a weekday. There were plenty of animals to keep you entertained, and it was a pretty chill vibe. Not the best I've seen, but still a good time.
Eakkaphob B — Google review
Medium size of farm with, variety of animals like capybara, deer, sheep, turtule, birds, snake, scropian, etc. We could buy vegetables there to feed em or even go into their cage to feed em (a bit challenge if u go with food basket) Have parking spaces
K P — Google review
Plenty of 'small animals'. Service personnel need to be trained and definitely improved, particularly the cashier at the entrance. Food price is partly acceptable. MVPs for us we're the owner and the lady at pony station. Served with service-mind and friendliness.
Panuwat J — Google review
No dual pricing 😊 Adults 100 THB. Children 80 THB. A good selection of animals, some of which you can interact with. Animals appear to be well looked after 👍 Well laid out with plenty of shaded walkways. Nice air conditioned café. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to visit, mainly farm animals all in big enclosures, children love Viva Foresta as can hand-feed rabbits, goats, sheep etc, great photo options with colourful backgrounds, and a nice little café for meals and drinks afterwards. Good car park area, easy to get to from Sukhumvit road highway 3.

It's 100bt to get in, but if you buy food, you get a 10bt discount. Wow. I had spaghetti carbonara @160bt it was very nice but a small serving and Italians would probably hate it . The petting zoo itself had a lot of children school in attendance .I would definitely visit here. it's small, but i had a nice time looking at white peacock, alligator fish , parrots, monkeys, albino lizards and the biggest stick insects around 16 inches ,we also so a tiny baby stick insect on top out side the cage about 1 inch ,it climbed onto my thumb and i put it safely in to a bush for safety maybe one day it to will be 16 inches long .

Noen Nang Phaya Viewpoint

Scenic spot
Outdoor Activities
Noen Nang Phaya Viewpoint is a popular spot for capturing stunning waterfront photos with the iconic curving coastal road as the backdrop. It's a must-visit for Thai visitors, who consider taking a selfie here a ritual. The viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the meandering 2-lane road inclining towards a short hill parallel to the seashore, with turquoise sea and sparkling water reflecting sunlight.
I can experience a millionaire view from this spot. I was so delighted seeing all of these beautiful views. There are many restaurants and local food here. Moreover, this place has a myth about eternal love if you come here with your lover. You have to come here once in your lifetime and see these views with your own eyes! 🌊💕
PM.phakinn — Google review
The viewpoint is worth visiting when going to Chantaburi. It is breathtaking. You can see the ocean and the mountains. There are parking spaces, and the place is accessible and safe to get to. The road is not too steep. Going up to the viewpoint to take nice photos is free, but it’s nice to donate to help the locals maintain the area. There is also a "love lock" spot at the top where you can make a wish for your love. It’s a great place to take photos with the beautiful view — definitely worth it. A must-try! On the opposite side of the road, there is a market, restaurants, and toilets, making it very convenient. 👍👍👍

Absolutely stunning location. The view point name is Noen Nang Phaya that means similar to the Queen of Hills. It's a beautiful sunset view point. Have the concrete block walkway along side the beach. Refreshing site to spend time.

Scenic view point of the ocean and the mountains. This is where you the windy shape similar to the number three. This view point is great for the panorama view of the number three road and the ocean site. However, it is packed with tourists so there are queue for the best photo spot. During the hot day this view point is very hot in temperatures and humidity, so best bring something to cover and a small fan.

Part of the royal program by the late King Rama 9. This place is fantastic to bringing kids to learn about marine life and importance of sustainable fishing. You can purchase bucket of fresh fish to feed bull shark, leopard shark, giant grouper and much more. We came during down tide and during monsoon season, so the water was merky and a bit difficult to see the wildlife

I was so excited to have an experience feeding a big shark! There are many species of sharks here, but I only see just one shark. Moreover, there are feeding fish activity along with a beautiful view around us. Lastly, the breeze makes me feel so fresh! 🦈💕
PM.phakinn — Google review
Fair amount of fish, sharks and turtles to see. Buckets of fish available to feed. More fish and sharks in the restaurant cove right next to it. Good activity in the local area, especially for kids. A little underwhelming for adults.
Jas L — Google review
No turtles, just one shark which you cannot see. Other ponds half empty, half is with few fish but not worth visiting for that. Entry is free, parking is not free.
Rusne T — Google review
Some places are way too small for the big fish. But it's an old place. Still a good experience. Huge fish....
L H — Google review
Recommend to visit during non-stormy season (like Oct to Mar) as we were told. The water will be clearer since the water now is very muddy from all the sediments. There are small sharks and other local fishes in each separated “tank”. Not much info if you come privately since the staffs are only cater to your groups. Need to pay for parking and feeds. Bring your own bread if you want.

You are welcome to enjoy the aquarium for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, and there is no charge for admission.

Decent mini aquarium place with good variety of fish on display. Some species were quite intriguing. 🧐 Nice for kids to learn more. 👏 Some of the display glass needs cleaning as the view is not quite clear.

Visited during public holidays so it's free for entry. Hence this aquarium is picked with family taking out their young kids fir educational experience. This aquarium is relatively small compared to many other aquarium in Thailand. Many of the sea life here are usually smaller creatures such as smaller fish in a tank.

An aquarium for educated, an children made easier happy with learning a marine and sea-life from here,. They are visiting both of station place or surrounding beach on scenery road.
Kritthana K — Google review
Small aquarium with lovely collection of fishes and shells, not of international standard though but enough for us to be entertained before going to the mangrove trail. Quite a distance from Chao Lao beach (we beach walked). Some aquariums need some scrubbing.

The best part is that there is no entry fee. The place is a bit old and basic. They need to renovate it. The aquariums are a bit small. Few beautiful fishes though especially the big one.

Khung Kraben Bay Mangrove Forest Education Center is a serene and well-maintained natural area dedicated to the conservation of mangroves. It offers shady paths, nature trails, pavilions, and a high viewdeck for observing the canopies. Founded by late King Bhumiphol, this center provides an opportunity to learn about marine life in wetlands and the ecosystem of mangrove forests.
We really enjoyed our time there. 2 hours of strolling along the board walk and kayaking were just so relaxing. Many tiny little things to stop and observe. The pattern of through sunlight, the forest and the sea were amazing. We strongly recommend everyone to pay the visit to this forest. You can easily park along the road.

Kayak hire available October to April, 50 baht per hour single, 100 for double, fee includes compulsory lifejackets. Marked kayak 'trails' through mangrove forest and open water of the estuary. Beautiful area, safe for kayaking, can paddle through the white egret nesting area, see Brahminy Kite sea Eagles.

Came here during rainy season (June). The atmosphere was good. However, the place was quite dry at this time and there was no kayak available. Overall, good short walk for mangroves lover.

A mangrove study center founded by our late King Bhumiphol. Fantastic place to learn about marine life in wetlands and ecosystem of mangrove forest. Very well organized. Serene and pleasant walk along the shady wooden path. Nice place to spend a couple of hours just to relax. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Free entrance. Parking is a little limited, though.

If you care about the environment and interested with its ecology, or just want to get out of the heat, this is a place for you. The place is amazing....thriving with mangrove trees, flora and fauna. The walking trail is well maintained and reliable, the viewdeck is high enough to see the canopies, the (short) hanging bridge is enough to give thrill. During the wèekdays if is fairly quiet, quiet like you can hear your own breathing. They said it can be overcrowded during the weekends. No entrance fee.

Oasis Sea World โอเอซิส ซีเวิลด์

Mentioned on

Outdoor Activities
Oasis Sea World is a vibrant marine park located around 30 kilometers from town, just before Laem Sing beach. It serves as a dolphin nursery and training center for two Thai dolphin species: the Bottlenose Dolphin or Pink Dolphin and the Finless Porpoise or Irrawaddy Dolphin. Visitors can enjoy thrilling dolphin shows where these intelligent creatures leap through hoops and swim alongside guests.
Good place, worth a visit if you're in the area. You can see that the dolphins are treated well and are happy. The staff is friendly too. You can take pictures with the dolphins if you want. There are also huge fishes and other animals that you can feed. Overall, it was a very interesting and friendly experience. Thankfully, foreigners are not charged double prices like in other places, and 130 THB is a very fair price for what you experience here.
Mario V — Google review
There is a restaurant and a coffee shop inside. You can feed deer and fish, and also have a Thai dolphin show at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm. The tickets are 130 for adults.
Nozithelo N — Google review
130 adult entry. Dolphin shows and animals in enclosures here. Carps, deer, etc. There are pink Chinese dolphins as well as the dark grey ones. We just missed the 1pm show but the ending seemed to suggest it would have been good. Another show at 3pm. Can pay 350thb to take a photo with the dolphin after the show. Can also pay extra to swim with dolphins if you pay in advance.
Jas L — Google review
You can watch pink dolphins and Irrawaddy dolphins in one place with reasonable price. 130B for adult and 80B for child. Also can feed other animals like goldfish, giant grouper and deer.
Khin H — Google review
There are many activities inside and the place needs some renovation! This place is not a sanctuary but more like a placement home. The dolphins have been bought from the fisheries since they were caught in a fish net. At this place you will pay for the entrance fee which covers the dolphin show, and the extra activities need to buy an additional ticket for, such as taking a photo with dolphins, swimming with dolphins(1 hour), and feeding animals. Nevertheless, you have free access to cafes and restaurants too. It is advised to check the show of the dolphin time, which they perform 3 times a day. The show is cute and I do not see any cruel practice. Yet, the swimming pool may be too small for the dolphins. Swimming with dolphins is a kinda unique experience. The children up to 3 years are welcome with one guardian. You will learn how to play some tricks with them and swim with them. It is such an inclusive time. There are 2 dolphins which we take like 30 minutes each. The feeding animals are a decent price here. You can feed fish, and dear. The restaurant is very good and so cheap. If you order a set menu, it is more than enough and the seafood is just so big and fresh.
Nuchnalin L — Google review

Krathing Waterfall

Park
Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Krathing Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder located in a forest, accessible via a hiking trail. The waterfall cascades down 13 rocky tiers into pools, with the most beautiful point at the 8th and 9th floors. While the national park allows access up to the 8th floor, visitors can still enjoy walking comfortably between each level due to their close proximity.
Krathing Waterfall is a large and very tall waterfall, the top of which is an open cliff where you can see the waterfall from the mountain in the distance. The upstream comes from the water source on Khao hitchakut, with a total of 13 levels, which highlights the most beautiful point of Namtok Krathing at the 8th and 9th floors, but the national park is open for us to walk up to the 8th floor only. The distance of each floor is not very far apart, so you can walk comfortably. Each level of the waterfall has different beauty. For the first level of the waterfall, located just 100 meters from the office, near the park's villas and tourists can swim at all levels. In the waterfall basin are rocks and sand, so the water is so clear that you can see the fish that are present in the waterfall. The floor that people like to stop by for swimming the most is the 3rd floor because it is not far from the office, no need to climb, not very tired, the water is not strong and there is a pool for swimming, suitable for relaxing. On the 3rd floor, there is also a wooden bridge for us to stop and take photos as well. When you continue walking up to the other waterfalls, you have to walk along the stream up the hill further. The path may be steep and a little slippery. You should walk with caution. The park area Shady with large and small trees that fill the area, giving the park a cool climate. For the period that is suitable for visiting Krating Waterfall, the most beautiful should come during the after rain, which is around mid-October to mid-February. You'll see the surrounding greenery with mosses, ferns, flowers and tiny mushrooms. The camping area is near the reservoir. During the cold weather, we may see fog in the morning and take very beautiful photos. How to get to Krating Waterfall? Krathing Waterfall is about 4 hours from Bangkok, 253 kilometers distance. You can rent a car from Bangkok and drive according to the map

One of my favorite waterfalls in Thailand... Just go all the way up 9th Tier and I guarantee you will never regret.. It is so much fun... If you go with family tier 7 will be the best to chill, bath and have some food... Never litter anywhere...
Mohamed A — Google review
We were so impressed that we visited this place twice during one year period. The 3rd floor is easy to access from the parking place. We heard that the highest floor was the most spectacular but it was too tiring for us to go to the top. In fact, the way to go uphill is not overly difficult or steep. Healthy adults should reach there without difficulties. During this period, proof of Covid vaccination is required before entering the National Park

Khao Khitchakut National Park, located in Chanthaburi Province, Thailand, is a sacred site and pilgrimage destination known for its venerated Buddha footprint on the mountain. The park covers 59 square kilometers of lush forestland with diverse herbal plants and wildlife. Visitors can explore waterfalls and forests while also visiting Khitchakut Temple to worship the giant rocks on the summit. During February to April, pilgrims flock to the temple seeking prosperity.
Something different while in Jomtien - a hike to Buddhas Footprints!? And I mean a hike - park at lower temple, 200baht for 4wd trip for maybe 15 minutes (and it is needed and only way) to staging point where it’s then 10,000 step round trip up +70 flights if you believe Apple. Well constructed steps and paths all along the way But well worth it! Approx 2.5 hour drive from Jomtien

Beautiful camping but very little water at waterfall and tracks to visit the 1-7 steps are all closed down by the park rangers so only the lowest is open. Better skip this waterfall until they open the tracks again. Lots of mosquitoes.

Planned to camp at the nice campsite by the lake. Found out that nice accommodation was available, with air conditioning, fridge, toilet etc. Plenty of toilets in the park. Waterfalls are minimal during the dry season. No food available at the park. There’s a 711 outside the park on the right leaving the park and another one in the town on the left

The park covers a rich, verdant forestland of some 58 square kilometers where many herbal plants and wildlife are found. Sights & Landmarks
Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Maharat Shrine, located in Chanthaburi, Thailand, is a significant historical site commemorating King Taksin's legacy. The shrine features a monument displaying the king's real sword and hosts an annual 'lifting the king sword' ceremony inside its main hall. Built in 1991 next to the original wooden shrine from 1920, this landmark offers visitors a glimpse into Thailand's rich history and is well worth a visit for history enthusiasts.
King Taksin the Great, who freed and saved Siam (former Thailand) from the ancient Burmese invasion. He had stopped here in Rayong during his rally to liberate the Kingdom of Ayutthaya from the ancient Burmese army. The legend has it that King Taksin the Great’s elephant was stabled at a large Parkia tree, which is in front of the shrine. This is a well-regarded place locals and Chinese visitors come to pray for lucks, especially during Chinese New Year and on December 28th, which is King Taksin Day.

The Shrine dedicated to the late King Taksin. This shrine offer the opportunity for Thais and foreigners to worship the late King and pray respects. This Shrine is very well maintain and beside the late King Taksin, there's also many other Buddhist duties for believer to come and worship. Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Chanthaburi Waterfront Community ชุมชนเก่าแก่ ริมแม่น้ำจันทบุรี is a charming riverside neighborhood with restored houses and elderly residents sharing stories of the town's history. The area dates back 300 years to the arrival of Chinese and Vietnamese merchants, leaving cultural imprints on the buildings. Visitors can explore the Learning House, showcasing neighborhood photos and architectural designs.
Fact is there’s not a whole lot to do in the city of Chanthaburi, Thailand. So finding this strip along the river is a welcome relief. There’s a history to this area and the short story is Thais, Chinese and Vietnamese coexisted in this part of town which is why you’ll see influences of each culture through food, architecture as well as religion. There are lots of cafés, restaurants and cozy little hotels, some overlooking the river. I can imagine this area is busiest on weekends and finding parking space can be a real pain. Most of the restaurant/bars open in the evening but the smaller restaurants are open through the day. It’s a small narrow lane so be careful of motorbikes and cars. You can walk the entire waterfront lane, it’s only about 300 or 400 meters.
W. C — Google review
A nicely preserved historic area. It's great to see some of the old buildings being well cared for. If you like architecture this is an interesting area to explore. There's also many cafes, food stalls and street art here. You can walk across the bridge to visit the Roman Catholic church too. The only problem is that it's very narrow and the road is still open to cars- it needs to be pedestrianised.
Katie B — Google review
Community dates from 300 years ago when Chinese and Vietnamese merchants arrived. Buildings still bear their cultural imprint. Lots of eateries by the river and a good place to base yourself for exploring Chanthaburi. They should pedestrianize the main road though - pesky motorbikes!
Vietem — Google review
I went in rainy season and many Shop are closed from Covid-19. This area was much quiet and nice place.
Pacharanat P — Google review
I was expecting to see unique architecture reflecting the different cultures here. But there were no such buildings. It just looks like any other Thai street with only a couple of traditional houses left. This street is very commercialised too, lined on both sides with all kinds of shops, cafes and restaurants. This place is catered to domestic tourism. Do NOT expect to see any English menus anywhere. It's pleasant to stroll in it and eat some street food here. But it's not worth a special trip just to see this place.
Catherine C — Google review
Its OK to visit if you're in the town but I wouldn't make a special journey. Quite a lot of shops are closed up. A few selling local-style snacks and food. A few coffee shops etc. Plenty of parking at the cathedral then just walk over the bridge..
Eric C — Google review
A pity walking there from the hotel was so unpleasant, not because of the distance but on account of having to come across main thoroughfares (no pedestrian crossing of course, vehicles accelerating when they notice you want to cross). All shops are closed on Sundays so plan your trip accordingly!

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Chanthaburi is a remarkable gothic-style Catholic church established in 1909, featuring two towering spires and a striking statue of the Virgin Mary. It is renowned as one of Thailand's largest Catholic cathedrals and an architectural marvel.
Very nice and beautiful Roman style cathedral. You have to use the side entrance to get in. Parking possible right next to the cathedral, pay 20B per car. The parking lot was quite busy and always full or almost full. Surroundings: Nice little restaurants and cafes in the area. Unfortunately there were no flyers or pan flips explaining the history or the place and it’s renovations available in English
Lola B — Google review
On the road from Koh Chang to Pattaya, I finally stopped in Chanthaburi — a town I’d passed many times before. In a Buddhist country, this Catholic cathedral feels both unexpected and reverent. Not as grand as Notre-Dame in Paris, nor as ornate as Sagrada Família in Barcelona, but quietly beautiful in its own way. There’s a quiet strength here — modest, solid, and sincere. A place to pause in the middle of a journey, to reflect on myself and the time I've been traveling through.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Chanthaburi is a very nice and peaceful place. It's next to a river, which makes it very tranquil. Outside, there's a big statue of the Virgin Mary where people pray and leave offerings. There are also other Catholic buildings and statues nearby. It's a perfect place to find peace and quiet.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Chanthaburi is a magnificent neo-Gothic church and one of the most significant in Thailand. Consecrated in 1909, it is renowned for its twin spires and stunning interior which features a statue of the Virgin Mary adorned with hundreds of thousands of local sapphires. A testament to the area's Vietnamese Catholic community and French missionary history, it remains a vital spiritual center and an essential stop for any visitor to Chanthaburi, perfectly paired with a visit to the nearby Chanthaboon Waterfront Community.

We visited The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Chanthaburi. It is a significant religious and historical landmark. It is the largest Catholic church in Thailand and serves as the seat of the Diocese of Chanthaburi. The cathedral was originally built in the late 19th century, with construction starting in 1909 and completed in 1911. It was established to serve the growing Catholic community in the region, which was largely influenced by French missionaries who arrived in the area during the 17th century. The cathedral features a neo-Gothic architectural style, characterized by its pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses. Its two prominent spires reach a height of about 24 meters, making it a recognizable landmark in Chanthaburi. The cathedral not only serves as a place of worship but also symbolizes the historical presence of Catholicism in Thailand. It reflects the cultural exchanges between Thai society and European colonizers, especially during the colonial era when French missionaries played a crucial role in evangelizing the region. During World War II, the cathedral was a refuge for many people fleeing from conflict, showcasing its role as a community center beyond just religious functions. Over the years, the cathedral has undergone various restorations and renovations to preserve its structure and accommodate the growing congregation. It remains an active parish church and a focal point for Catholic activities in Thailand. Today, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is not only a place o worship but also an important cultural and historical site that attracts both pilgrims and tourists. Its beautiful architecture and rich history make it a significant landmark in Chanthaburi.

We went there late in the afternoon and it was closed. We walked around the perimeter and the weather was great. The church was beautiful.

Beautiful Cathedal near Chantaburi waterfront market. Good view and huge paid car parking lots.

I was surprised to find a church in Thailand province and when I entered inside for a prayer a young lady asked me rudely that I can't stay. I found this strange in the house of God. The architecture itself isn't impressive and the interior is dull
