(Translated by Google) Here, you can enjoy nature when there aren't too many people on the boardwalk. The main thing to see is the moor and its animal inhabitants, including the tree trunks gnawed by beavers. Whether you're willing to pay the regular €2.50 entrance fee is up to you. However, the fee is essential for the maintenance of the wooden boardwalk. (Original) Hier kann man die Natur genießen wenn nicht gerade so viele Menschen auf dem Steg unterwegs sind. Very nice 20.9 meter tower. Great view of Aalen and surroundings. At the base of the tower there is a playground for children, lots of benches and tables, and a restaurant, but it was closed (July Saturday afternoon).

The place is about 200m above city level and may take around 40-50 by foot from the city centre. At top there is a restaurant and a observation deck. From the observation tower one can see complete city of Aalen.

Nature & Parks
Bodies of Water
Blautopf, located about 1.5 hours drive from Munich, is a small town known for its natural blue pool. The peculiarly blue color of the water is due to the nanoscale limestone particles densely distributed in it. Visitors can take a round walk around the area and explore UNESCO-recognized artifacts made by humans around 40,000 years ago. Additionally, there are various recognized trekking paths to explore in the vicinity.
Blautopf is a very scenic and beautiful spot to visit. Bathrooms are available at the church right in front of the lake, and there’s also a small souvenir and ice cream shop nearby. Free parking is just a short walk away, which makes it really convenient.

(Translated by Google) We finally went there as a family today. We weren't disappointed - in advance IMPORTANT 🚨🚨🚨 This year, the last tours are being offered; according to the provider, there will be no more tours after that. 🚨🚨🚨 There are two different tour lengths. We chose a date online and paid immediately via PayPal. It worked great. There's an option to stay and eat on-site. 🥘 But we didn't do this. When we registered, which was quick, we received wristbands. (Paid 🤪) We were then allowed to walk the route to the starting point 🏃, which is extremely beautiful in the surrounding area. When we arrived, we were given instructions and then allowed to start. (Life jackets for children are provided.) The trip itself was fun, of course - there were a few small rapids in the sections that were really fun. 🚨We recommend wearing water shoes and avoiding carrying unnecessary items unless they are waterproof. 🚨

Märklineum Store

Museum
Model train store
Specialty Museums
Model railway exhibits from the renowned manufacturer, covering 1000 square meters, plus a shop.
Really enjoyed my time at the museum. The many well executed interactive elements (some with high educational value also) and Märklin showcasing their long history of toys besides model trains makes it a museum worth visiting for the whole family.
Sander H — Google review
This is set out on 3 floors. The first being a shop floor with a cafe. The second floor is part of the museum and is more like a historical look back at some of the products and toys this brand has made and sold. Finally the third floor is where all the model trains are kept (Behind plexiglass) For many people who are into trains, this will undoubtedly be a pleasant place to visit. My only concern is the high entrance fee to visit the 2 floors which are essentially a brands selection of previous products (a show room) and so the 10 euro per adult fee seemed disproportionate for what it was. Sure it’s a nice place to visit, and those with a keen interest in trains and train models should really enjoy this. But i can’t see the value in relation to the cost and what was on show. I personally think the first floor (no charge) is the best option and skip paying the high fees to visit upstairs.
Mrs R — Google review
So cool lots of cool things to see. So much history about model railroad hobbies. There's lots to see and do here make sure you have at least an hour to view the museum. And more if you want to go see the HO layout in the basement. If you are in the area definitely check it out 10/10
Oliver S — Google review
Awesome place! There is an outside exhibition of train(s) and train models, and museum is great if you are a Märklin. You can also buy tickets online in advance, or as a voucher to your friends. Train models of different sizes are on sale in the museum.
Engin G — Google review
Nice museum and shop. The factory section to see the manufacturing was closed. Had to pay 10 euro to enter which seems extreme as it is advertising for the brand. The prices at the bistro were very good though. The bistro employees were very friendly and helpful.
Märklin Z — Google review
Märklineum: The Märklin Museum and Bistro are Closed undergoing reconstruction until approx September 2019, when it should be open for the 2019 Göppingen model expo. The Gift/Model Shop, Technical Centre and the Fund Grube are open and very well stocked with all the current stock as well as the Complementary display Items from all the leading Brands There are items in the Fund Grube that ard at a reduced price, either below quality for shipping or extra items like loads for wagons or special items. The Buildings are fully accessible with a very wide stepless entrance. It's very well laid out with good space between the display cases, there are toilets and lockers behind the Technical Desk. There is a wooden train-set to try and keep the littlest ones distracted while you look through the Book shelves.
Jason T — Google review
If you are into train models then this is the place to visit! It was a eyeopener for me as I never new a small model could cost 3-4000 EUR!! A 20cm electric rail track 180 EUR! This is definitely not a hobby for kids but kidults!! 😁 who can spend cash on their hobby.

Urach Waterfall

Nature & Parks
Wildlife refuge
Scenic & dramatic waterfall in a forest, with a 37m sheer drop, accessible only by footpath.
A beautiful place with a shop at the waterfall, fresh air. About 2 km walk through the forest. If you have the opportunity to go - don't miss it!
Kyamil S — Google review
Trek was good and a very peaceful place. Will have lot of dog lovers in this place. Since we visited during summer water was less. But if it was other than summer it would have been an awesome experience.
Kushal K — Google review
A beautiful waterfall with a small but nice hiking trail. But be careful when you walk up the stairs toward the fall, as it can be slippery. The water is crystal clear.
J T — Google review
Very nice waterfall. Depending on the route you go up or down beside the waterfall and the stairs where the water runs across. Path is steep sometimes so you do need good legs to complete the route.
Pieter V — Google review
The place felt a bit overrated. There were a lot of people, and the waterfall wasn’t very impressive, the water flow was quite small. There was also a bit of water on the stairs. Maybe we went at the wrong time. The place might be more beautiful when the water volume is higher. We visited in mid-May and were a bit disappointed.
Yuzena K — Google review
Easy hike to the bottom, a little more effort to get to the top. If the waterfall is running strongly the stairs and path may also become a river, so tread carefully as not to slip. Recommend sturdy hiking shoes and waterproof if possible. At the top depending on the time of day you will be rewarded with a small shop with refreshments and wonderful views back down the valley you hiked along. If you have the energy you can also swing around to the castle ruins for more exercise and views of the surrounding area. A great activity that is rewarding and leaves me feeling accomplished at the effort. I have taken many friends to see this waterfall and only have received positive feedback.
Christopher C — Google review
On a sunny day, it's really one of the most beautiful hikes. There is a 10kms loop that goes to Urach and Güter waterfall. But you could also do a shorter 2km to the bottom of the fall or continue for about 600m on a steeper, stairs hike to the top of the waterfall. 100% worth it either way. I did the trail from all trails. Well marked, but can be slippery especially if it just rains. Parking; You can park at P23 for 5 euros a day, but there is a parking lot just after you cross the train line, on the right, and it's free. I was there at 8.30 and the whole lot was empty A must visit if you are in the area
Chandana G — Google review
It’s a pretty small waterfall, but wow—what a view! Totally worth the effort. Getting down was a breeze with all the excitement, but the climb back up was definitely more of a challenge. Still, with a few breaks along the way, it’s absolutely worth it!

Panorama Therme Beuren

Swimming & bathing in mineral-rich water at a vast spa complex with colorful night lighting.
Relaxing Oasis with Fantastic Facilities I recently visited Panorama Therme Bauren, and it exceeded my expectations! The indoor swimming pool is immaculate, with crystal-clear water and a soothing ambiance. The variety of facilities, from saunas to relaxation areas, ensures a holistic experience. The staff is friendly, and the overall cleanliness is commendable. A perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate. Highly recommended!

A truly enjoyable experience and one of the better thermal spa destinations I’ve visited! The complex is spacious, well-maintained, and offers plenty of amenities for a full day of relaxation. The outdoor pool with its swirling current effect is a highlight—both relaxing and fun. The water has a slightly salty taste, adding to the natural and therapeutic feel. The facility is modern and thoughtfully designed, with excellent accessibility for people with special needs. Everything is clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend visiting, whether as part of a weekend wellness getaway or a day trip. For thermal spa lovers—this place is a real gem!

Facility is nice, clean. Several pools with different features. We did not use the cafe. The staff were friendly. Very busy on the weekend. Unable to buy tickets in advance.
Samantha J — Google review
I love this therme. It’s clean. Lots of options from nice pools, saunas, salt room and chairs to relax on. The view is beautiful and always enjoy a nice meal when there. I can’t fault this place at all. It’s one of my favorites in the Stuttgart area.
Dianna G — Google review
This place is brilliant. Staff are great and have limited English but they still tried and it's much better than my non existent German. So you pay and they give you a watch which controls the gate to get in and exit. It also locks and unlocks the lockers which is smart You get into a changing cubicle get changed and exit out the other side where the lockers are. Put your stuff in and follow the crowd. If you have never been to a public bath it's good etiquette to wash first before getting into any of the pools. There's quite a lot to choose from in various different temperatures so you'll find one that will suit you The most fun one is the whirlpool where you just grab a foam stick wrap it around you and the water will carry you around the large pool where there are various jets that can massage you. 13 euros for 2 1/2 hours which I think is plenty is pretty cheap . There's also saunas but you will have to go in stark naked. Thoroughly recommended

St. Michael's Church is a must-see attraction in Schwabisch Hall, located right in the city center with its impressive tower and spacious square. Visitors can climb the bell tower for stunning views of the city, but should be mindful of the loud bells. The church boasts incredible historical architecture and hosts live theatrical plays on its steps during the summer. It's a beautifully restored building that showcases a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, with some chapels featuring Baroque decor.

medieval church from 1156 from romanesque to Gothic architecture. the building offers all. beautiful baroque side altars, tower visit, magnificent bell with a clock timing. large stairs with an open theater and amazing main altar. it is the main highlight of the town.

Besides being a historical building with the greatest architecture, the staircase outside is used by the town as a stage for plays. Away from home and wanting to serve God with fellow worshippers, it was the most amazing sermon I have attended.

OUTLETCITY Metzingen in Stuttgart is a top shopping destination, attracting a large number of visitors daily. With its vast collection of stores and boutiques covering 5000 square meters, it offers an enjoyable browsing experience for shoppers. As Europe's largest outlet by sales area, it boasts 150 premium and luxury brands with discounts of up to 70% year-round. The mall is known for its best discount times in January, May, and July/August.
Amazing collection of many of the major fashion brands. Very nice location and good services all around! Staff are really helpful, regardless in which shop you are, and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended if you are nearby.
Wiz — Google review
Nice shopping spot - lots of shops, very well organized and easily accessible. There are a lot of parking spaces. Toilets are accessible and very clean. Everything is organized in such a way that you don't worry about anything and just do your shopping. For the shops themselves I would say that for some things I usually find better deals online. However, there are a lot of people who prefer shopping from outlets.
Plamena M — Google review
A large shopping center with many world-class brand stores at reasonable prices. There is a list of all stores in the photos. Parking is not a problem, there are many parking garages and parking areas. There are cafes, restaurants and bistros. They do their best to ensure the satisfaction of visitors.
Helena — Google review
The OUTLETCITY in Metzingen is one of the big down in Germany. The products are made in china or Africa and the prices are sky-high. The restaurant food is overpriced and even the drinking water is not affordable in this summer and charging 3 euros for a small pet bottle. The Drinks wending machine is not working and you need to buy from only those restaurants.
Praveen R — Google review
Amazing place it is like a village and offers everything (food, coffee, drinks etc.) I couldn’t say that the discounts worth the visit as it is an average 30% minus the initial price. You have to search a lot to find a real offer. It ils also really crowded but that is normal for a place like this. I couldn’t imagine that you have to pay parking fee (2€/hour!!!) in a city outlet where you go to spend money for sure 👎
ΓΙΩΡΓΟΣ Σ — Google review
Best place for shopping, has plenty of parking spot and variety of brands on same street.
Pratiksha R — Google review
The best outlet I’ve been to in Germany. Huge selection of stores and very very large campus to walk around. Loved it. Great deals and I love that they have a midnight shopping event once a month usually, where they stay open till very late at night.
Melissa R — Google review
Good area for shopping brands, sometimes discount mentioned with up to % can be misleading. On weekends or during holidays it is hard to find parking which are close to the shopping area.

Hohenzollern Castle

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Perched on a mountaintop in Hechingen, Germany, Hohenzollern Castle is a 19th-century architectural gem that houses an impressive art collection and the crown of the Prussian king. Unlike its more famous counterparts, this fairy-tale castle offers a quieter and less crowded experience for visitors. Surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Black Forest region, it's a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and admirers of picturesque castles.
great place to spend the day. inside the castle is a picturesque restaurant with a local seasonal dishes. dessert Strudel is a super big and delicious dessert, with the signature castle decoration. the castle is on a mountain, be prepared for it to be a bit more chilly and possibly windy at the top. we were not prepared, but the great sweatshirts from the brand store saved us 👌🏻
Katarina C — Google review
Visiting Hohenzollern Castle was one of those experiences that really stays with you. As we made our way up and started walking around the outdoor observation areas, the view simply took my breath away. The valley stretches out endlessly, and from the castle walls it feels like you’re standing above the world. It’s the kind of view that makes you stop, breathe, and just take it all in. The castle itself is just as impressive as the scenery. It stands tall and majestic, with an atmosphere that carries centuries of history. Walking through it, you can almost feel the presence of the people who once lived there and the important role this place played. Every hallway and corner has a story, and when you step back outside to those sweeping views, it all ties together beautifully. I’ve seen a number of castles in Germany — each with their own charm — but Hohenzollern stood out in a way that felt different. It wasn’t just about the architecture or the history alone; it was the combination of both with its stunning location on top of the hill. That mix of breathtaking scenery and deep history makes it one of the most memorable castles I’ve ever visited. If you’re traveling in the area, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the kind of place you’ll remember long after you leave.
Rafi S — Google review
I loved how they still kept history alive for viewing and provided a free app guided tour. The shuttle to the castle from the parking lot, gift shops and bathrooms in both the castle and parking lot, and restaurants made the tour convenient. But the best parts were the view of nearby lands and beautiful artifacts.
Julia K — Google review
This was a wonderful experience and this castle does not disappoint with sheer beauty located at the top of the mountain. I got lovely photos and videos. There is shuttle bus to the top and an app that gives you an audio tour. There are also many guides on site to answer questions and give you more history. There is a gift shop with beautiful souvenirs and an on site restaurant/bar/cafe. Well worth the visit and I recommend buying advance tickets which are slightly discounted. I also rented a super car on this trip and the drive from Stuttgart was scenic and so much fun in a performance car. Also recommend the drive.
Jebbie P — Google review
This is a beautiful castle! It is very well maintained. The walk through is nice, and the museum area is really neat too. There's a beautiful outdoor seating area with a beer garden/restaurant. We had lunch and coffee there. We also visited with a baby, and read ahead of time not to bring a stroller due to stairs and tight spaces. So we used a baby carrier instead and it worked perfectly! This is a must visit castle if you're anywhere close in the vicinity. The view looking down is also beautiful.
Kasey S — Google review
One of the biggest castles in Stuttgart. This is well-maintained, and the shuttle bus is a great option for the elderly and those with mobility issues. But you will get the best experience if you walk to the castle from the bottom.
Aman P — Google review
Wonderful! It has such a cozy, homey vibe. It’s so great that the family is still preserving it and sharing it with the public. I do recommend downloading the tour app if you want all the detailed history of the castle.

A pleasant marketplace to walk around. We came across a street band playing cheerful music. One of the nice areas to visit when in Tübingen.

Tübingen is only an hour and half from Stuttgart by regional train. The city dates from the 6th or 7th century, when the region was populated by the Alamanni people. The old castle dates from around year 1.000. The city was totally destroyed during the WW but many buildings were restored. We can still see special details from the original constructions. A very typical German town worth visiting.

It's a beautiful square surrounded by antique buildings. On and off, there are events such as the Christmas market or currently the "Chocolart", a chocolate themed market.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is a true architectural and historical masterpiece, offering an immersive journey that appeals far beyond just automotive enthusiasts. It is, without a doubt, one of the best corporate museums in the world and a must-visit landmark in Germany. Brilliant Architecture and Chronological Design The building's ingenious double-helix architecture guides the visitor through time. You ascend to the top floor—the birth of the automobile—and then spiral down through nine levels, witnessing 130 years of history unfold chronologically. This unique design ensures a seamless and captivating flow. The lighting, presentation, and curation of the exhibits are world-class, giving every vehicle, from Karl Benz's first patent motor car to the modern F1 racers, the reverence it deserves. Innovation Contextualized in World History What truly elevates this museum is how it integrates the vehicles with parallel world history. Each exhibition floor connects Mercedes-Benz's technical progress with defining moments and culture of that era. You see the evolution of luxury, safety, and racing innovation—including the legendary Silver Arrows and the iconic "Gullwing" models. The sheer volume and diversity of cars, trucks, and prototypes are breathtaking, illustrating Mercedes-Benz's influence on global mobility. Conclusion: For its stunning design, technical depth, and engaging historical context, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a powerful experience. The exhibition is impeccably maintained, the staff are helpful, and the ticket price offers fantastic value for a deep dive into industrial heritage. Allow at least three to four hours to properly explore this brilliant celebration of engineering. Highly, highly recommended when visiting Stuttgart.

It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.

⭐ 10/10 — a place I’d gladly visit again I visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum on a Sunday and it turned out to be a great decision. It wasn’t crowded, so I could walk around comfortably and really enjoy the atmosphere. The whole place is extremely clean and well-organized, and you can see how much attention is put into every detail. The audio guide was another highlight: clear, easy to follow, and filled with interesting facts. It doesn’t just talk about cars, but also about the history and the world around the inventions. At some points it genuinely feels like a small time-travel experience. Even if you’re not a big car fan, the museum still has a lot to offer. It tells a wider story about innovation, progress and the people behind it all. Each floor adds something new and keeps you curious. I’m not adding too many photos here because I’d rather keep some intrigue for future visitors. If you’re in Stuttgart, this place is definitely worth a visit. 👉 Highly recommended 👍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An outstanding experience! The Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart is truly impressive, beautifully designed, perfectly organized, and full of fascinating history and stunning cars. The storytelling from past to present is exceptional, and every floor offers something unique. A must visit in Stuttgart for anyone who appreciates quality, innovation, and great hospitality. Highly recommended!
Filippos V — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum isn't just a place for car enthusiasts; it is a meticulously curated journey through industrial and global history that easily earns its five stars. The experience begins with a profound reverence for innovation, celebrating Mercedes-Benz as the true pioneer of the internal combustion engine—the very invention that birthed the modern automobile in 1886. The cloverleaf architecture is genius, guiding visitors chronologically through the "Legend Rooms." You descend through nine floors of history, witnessing the evolution from the first Patent-Motorwagen to the latest concepts. The promise of the museum holds true: it has all the cars, showcasing an incredible collection of over 160 vehicles, including legendary Silver Arrows, luxurious Popemobiles, and iconic vehicles from every era. What elevates this museum far above others is its educational depth. It skillfully weaves the story of the founders, Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler, presenting not just their creations, but the entrepreneurial spirit and visionary ideas that drove them. Even more impressively, the museum integrates this automotive narrative with the broader history of the world, offering context on social and technological upheavals, allowing you to see how the car shaped (and was shaped by) the events of each period. It is a stunning, comprehensive, and perfectly presented exhibition that honors a legacy of engineering excellence. An absolute essential visit in Stuttgart!
Micu V — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is nothing short of extraordinary—a world-class experience that blends automotive history, innovation, and storytelling into one unforgettable visit. From the moment you step inside the striking, futuristic building, you’re transported into the rich legacy of one of the world’s most influential automotive brands. What impressed me most was the sheer breadth of historic Mercedes-Benz models on display. The museum takes you on a chronological journey, beginning with the very invention of the automobile and guiding you through decades of engineering achievements, design evolution, and cultural impact. I was genuinely amazed to discover just how deeply Mercedes-Benz has been woven into major historical moments over the years—whether in motorsport, luxury travel, or groundbreaking technological advancements. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated, offering the perfect blend of information, visuals, and interactive elements. This isn’t just a place for car enthusiasts, though they will certainly be in heaven. It’s an experience the whole family can enjoy. There’s so much to see, explore, and learn that even those who aren’t deeply into cars will find themselves captivated. The museum is spacious, beautifully organized, and designed to keep visitors engaged at every turn. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time—at least a few hours—to truly appreciate everything the museum has to offer. From early prototypes to legendary racing cars, from elegant classics to modern innovations, every level reveals something new and fascinating. Incredible in every sense, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a must-do for anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the brand or simply curious about automotive history, this museum delivers an experience that is both inspiring and unforgettable. Highly recommended.

Ascend the Stuttgart TV Tower, a renowned landmark offering breathtaking city vistas and an adrenaline-pumping experience for thrill-seekers. This architectural gem stands at 217 meters tall and features open-air viewing platforms at around 150 meters, providing unparalleled panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, the Alb, the Black Forest, and the Odenwald. Delve into its history at the on-site museum before savoring a meal at its restaurant while soaking in the mesmerizing scenery.
Prob the tallest tower in Europe n the view from up there is wild! Lift takes just 36 secs to shoot u up. Saw Stuttgart from way above—stadiums, highways n all. Def worth it. If u can, carry a binocular for extra fun at the top. A must-do spot!

The TV tower in Stuttgart is an impressive landmark and well worth a visit. It is included in the Stuttgart card, and there is also free parking right at the site which makes the visit easy. The ticket office doubles as a small souvenir shop with many interesting items, adding to the sense of arrival. Going up just before sunset proved to be a magical choice, as the city and surrounding hills slowly changed colour with the fading light. The panorama from the top is wide and striking, stretching far across the region. It is one of those places where the timing of your visit makes a big difference, and sunset truly enhances the experience.
Navid G — Google review
A striking feat of engineering and a symbol of post-war innovation in Germany. Completed in 1956, it was the world’s first television tower built using reinforced concrete; an architectural model that inspired towers worldwide, including those in Toronto and Johannesburg. Standing 217 meters tall, the tower offers panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, and even the distant Alps on clear days. A high-speed elevator takes you to the observation deck, where the city unfolds in all directions. Informative displays at the base explain its construction and global significance, making it more than just a lookout, it's a monument to modernist vision. Whether you're an architecture buff, a history lover, or just chasing the view, the Stuttgart TV Tower delivers a sky-high experience with substance.

Best view of the city could be possible from here. It is first TV tower so worth to visit and experience the engineering at that time. Price is bit too much under 10 euro make more sense, may be maintenance or whatsoever cause for current price. There is restaurant, funny is price is super expensive and rules is per sit you have to buy food, even for kids too. Plus we had experience from one lady staff member and feel not so welcoming only smile came after tip 😏. I would recommend to bring your small food or whatsoever stuff with you and go to the tower to enjoy the view only.
Ankit R — Google review
Easy to park in front of the tower, nice view of the city and elevator! Only the staff at the panorama cafe was a bit slow when we were waiting to be sit down, otherwise good.
Tomáš I — Google review
Was actually a very nice experience. I went on a late Sunday night, everything was closed so decided to give the tower a chance. The views were great up there and the staff very friendly. To go up there is some info that you can read and the elevator was very smooth. Supposedly there is also a cafe up there. Since was Sunday it was closed.
Ricardo F — Google review
Great view at the sunset. I went on a Monday end of August, there was no line and very easy to park the car. Elevator goes up to 150m. Altitude on the top is ~643m you have a good look of Stuttgart. Take a jacket because it’s windy at the top.
Raphael K — Google review
Ah, Fernsehturm Stuttgart – that “boring concrete tube” suddenly turns out to be one of the most satisfying viewpoints in Germany. From the ground, it looks like just another TV tower, but step onto the observation deck and… bam! Stuttgart, vineyards, and the Alps all in one shot. Suddenly you realize you’ve been looking too low your whole life. The elevator is fast and comfortable – perfect if you don’t want to tire your legs, and the spiral stairs? Oh, those don’t exist, so you can just feel like a VIP enjoying the city from your perch in the sky. The deck is high enough to give a slight “oh wow, this is high!” thrill, but not so high that you need to grit your teeth. In short: Fernsehturm Stuttgart looks unassuming until you go up and discover it’s more spectacular than many so-called “Instagrammable architectural stars.” The queues are minimal, the views are maximal, and the satisfaction of feeling on top of the world is absolutely guaranteed.

Wilhelma Zoological and Botanic Garden is a vast zoo and botanical garden located in a former royal park dating back to the 19th century. Originally created as a private retreat for Swabian King Wilhelm, it has now become one of Germany's largest zoos, attracting over two million visitors annually. The site features Neo-Moorish style buildings set amidst lush gardens, offering a unique setting for its diverse collection of animals and plants.
The best zoo in the world. I've been to all the London zoos and lots more throughout the UK and internationally — this must be the best zoo ever! It’s spacious, beautiful, clean. It wasn’t busy or crowded at all, even on a Sunday. Also it’s huge with so many animals! Which on the whole seem happy and looked after. And the gardens and greenhouses are stunning. Even the food and canteens/restaurants are lovely. We had the best day ever. And there’s so many play areas for kids as well. 10/10 you have to come if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful garden + zoo which is so nicely maintained. The garden is spectacular. There is the cactus area which would mesmerize all garden lovers. The surroundings are well kept. The Amazon experience is amazing. The animals can be viewed closely, that's how the landscaping is done for their enclosures. Multiple restaurants are within the Wilhelma zoo. Not to forget some lucky ones even got peacock feathers. We visited on a Saturday with kids and it was a day well spent.
Amanda J — Google review
Huge place to visit, great value for money of you go on sight seeing. Wilhelma is both a botanical and a zoological garden with a great collection in both fauna. There are a lot of things to do for children (special places were they can climb and play) but as well as a lot of places to grab something to eat or a coffee or a … bear.
Claudiu F — Google review
This was by far the biggest coolest zoo we've ever been to! Beautiful botanical gardens too! There's different microclimate buildings with native plants to those regions and the animals are out in their habitat when you walk through. We've never experienced anything like it, definitely the coolest thing we did while we were in Stuttgart! Parking was 8 euros, we spent 6 hours making our way through the park and could have been there even longer than that. We used the 3 day stuttcard that we purchased for entrance at the zoo. Well worth your time!

Wilhelma is an absolute must-visit and a stellar example of modern zoological care! From the moment you step inside, the entire park feels incredibly well maintained—a truly pristine environment. The focus on animal welfare is clear; the complex features very good, spacious animal sanctuaries that clearly contribute to happy animals throughout the exhibits. It's truly heartwarming to see the dedication of the staff, and it’s obvious there are a lot of workers enjoying their job, which adds to the positive atmosphere. A fantastic, ethical, and beautiful day out!
Micu V — Google review
I have visited zoo and botanical gardens lot of time but the trip to Wilhelma was a unique experience. It is constructed such that to give a natural habitat to the animals while people can also experience how the animals of wild look like. You can see them real close through glass windows. This was a very unique experience. There are all kinds of animals and birds. Since I have been only one time, due to limited time, I couldn't visit the Amazon forest and botanical gardens. But I am thinking of getting a yearly pass next year. Amazing experience. The nature truly is amazing and beyond words.
Shivam R — Google review
An absolutely impressive experience! Zoo Whelma stands out through its clever design and remarkable attention to detail. The artificially recreated habitats are vast and carefully crafted to reflect the natural environments of the animals. I was especially amazed by the presence of rare endemic species and the seamless blend of native flora with matching fauna. The dioramas are stunning, and the entire park feels like a perfect mix between a botanical garden and a zoo — a truly unique and memorable concept. It beautifully combines restored older sections with newly developed areas, showing both tradition and innovation. You can clearly see the passion and professionalism behind this project. I’m really looking forward to the opening of the two new wings, which will surely make the experience even richer. Highly recommended for all nature, education, and wildlife lovers!

All this green area , birds and animals is a joy of soul and eyes. Never had this much of calm in a very long time. I am happy that I visited it today. Note : I arrived at the gate and it was opened and none there , I stepped one foot to see where is the staff and a guy firmly asked me to step outside again. I didn't and showed him my ticket , he check it and then allowed me to enter. His behavior was so rude.

Schlossplatz is a central square in Stuttgart, known for its gardens and the 1841 Jubilee Column. It's a hub of cultural activity with open-air concerts and summer festivals. The area also showcases modern sculptures by renowned artists like Alexander Calder, Alfred Hrdlicka, and Otto Hajek. Street art enthusiasts will appreciate the city's creative scene, including a popular tourist attraction called the Hall of Fame in Bad Cannstatt.
Some places aren’t just beautiful — they speak to something inside you. Schlossplatz is one of them. The old stones seem to hold quiet stories, and the evening light paints the buildings like someone is brushing the city with love. I just stood there, listening to a violinist, soaking in the moment. If you're nearby — don’t rush past. There’s a kind of peace here, even in the middle of the crowd.

Not a public place. Often taken over by private shows and activities which block the views to the visitors. Should not be a location for shows and events. Visitors are interested in the natural beauty of the state property with no commercial events or shows. Money is always king of the people

Not that impressed by Schlossplatz. The building and the park are nice but it was very very crowded. Not sure what it is exactly but it is missing the vibe that cities like London or Paris have… On the positive side; we found Coffreez; a really nice coffee take away bar. See foto.

It was really crowded when we went. There are a lot of cool things to see here. A lot of shopping as well. The flea market was open when we went, so we got to see a lot of old items. We went in the November, and they were setting up for the Christmas Market.

Stuttgart hasn't that much to offer to visitors if you don't count two outstanding car museums in its suburbs. The central area is mostly modern and new rebuilt after WWII grounding of entire city. Schlossplatz, or the Palace square is the best attraction from historic point of view. Like you might conclude it's in the very center. A huge Wurtemburg Kings palace dominates the square on the eastern side. In the middle is the unification obelisk erected in honor of Wurtemberg joining the German confederation, with two nice fountains. The square is full of people having their free time and picnic there, while around the square are several bars and restaurants to sip a drink and enjoy the beauty

We recently had the chance to visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and it was an incredible experience. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by a stunning display of design, speed, and innovation that reflects the true **triumph of German engineering**. From the earliest Porsche models to cutting-edge concept cars, every exhibit showcases precision, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of performance. The museum's architecture itself is strikingly modern, mirroring the brand’s forward-thinking spirit. We were especially impressed by the motorsport section, which highlights Porsche’s dominance on the track and the technological breakthroughs behind it. Whether you're a lifelong car fan or just curious, the museum offers a deep appreciation for what makes Porsche — and German engineering as a whole — world-renowned. We left inspired and uplifted especially my husband who is cars enthusiast! Definitely must see!

Visiting this place is a must if you appreciate automobiles and the culture surrounding them. Although it is located a bit outside the city's heart, the experience is worth the travel. Be prepared for a potentially bustling atmosphere, as many people share your interest. To avoid queues and ensure entry, consider purchasing your tickets ahead of your visit. Enjoy the impressive assortment of Porsches on display for you to admire.

Such a cool experience to be able to go here, loved the interactive bits but the story telling could’ve been done better for Ferdinand Porsche’s life. Coming from my time in the Mercedes Benz museum down the road which did their story telling impeccably. Definitely go here though, would highly reccommend if you like looking at high horsepower monsters and multi million euro cars!

Very nice museum with a really big collection of … Porsche’s of course, what else?! It talks about the really fascinating history, the ups, the downs, the successes, the what ever you want to know about this magnificent sports performance vehicles. It’s a must visit in stuttgart!

Car enthusiasts will love it. The museum will give you a diving in the history of Germany and automobiles. The visit starts at the visitor center going up to the 8th floor down. There’s parking on the streets nearby and some parking nearby the museum. Parking garage is also available nearby. Tickets may be bought online or in person. It is kids friendly and wheelchair accessible. There’s a souvenir store, a restaurant and more downstairs from the visitor center.

A must see for car enthusiasts and history lovers. The museum is nicely laid and and takes you through the history of Porsche from the early days to modern day. Go early to avoid crowds. A fantastic experience overall.

The Porsche Museum is absolutely incredible and a must-visit for anyone who loves the Porsche brand. The collection is stunning, with so many iconic cars from throughout Porsche’s history displayed in a beautifully curated space. From groundbreaking race cars to legendary road cars, every exhibit highlights the brand’s innovation and engineering excellence. My personal favorites were the Nurburgring record-breaking 919 Evo, which is breathtaking to see up close, and the Carrera GT, a true masterpiece of design and performance. The museum perfectly captures what makes Porsche special, and it’s well worth the trip for any automotive enthusiast.

This is a very nice museum. Lots of Porsche history is shown, special versions and good explanations via a mobile device with headset. I must admit that i only used it at the beginning, because some explanations are giving allot of info.you can also walk by and read the text.

Great historical place, clean and with a great view. Restaurant and beergarden available.

Lovely place ….unfortunately the Castle cannot be visited. You can only enjoy some food and drinks and have a short walk around one side of the Castle.

Excellent place to have dinner over here. Look like castle is not open for public. Restaurant serves good food here and beers are so good. Must try Highlight to the place was view towards villages here. Better to visit after 6pm, because sun cools down little and sky turns orange a bit and cool breeze makes you feel relax here.
Prabhu J — Google review
Beautiful, quiet location with an outdoor biergarten. Castle was closed when we visited mid day, were able to walk the grounds and enjoy biergarten.

The atmosphere is what you're here for! The drinks are good and the food is average. Lots of options for vegetarians, no fish options. This place is spectacular for a view of the area and vineyards but don't expect a gourmet meal. The vegetable pizza was not so great, I would not recommend but the frommes were pretty good. More like pub food.

Business dinner that turned into an memorable experience. Beautiful vistas, good food and beer, friendly staff. Plenty of parking on a field and while the lot was 3/4 full the place did not feel crowded it was that spacious.

Beautiful small town surrounded by Black Forest (dense pine trees forest). This is one of the place which most of European senior citizens will come for their vacation. Almost all building, old and new, have beautiful facade and decorated with beautiful blooming flowers. Have variety of shops selling good products. For moslems, there are several halal restaurants and cafes established by Turks and Indian moslems.

Decorated with spectacular floral gardens enhance it's beauty. Really very very nice swimming pool with very big swimming pool for swimmers and 3 small pools for kids. Also nice wellness center with many small pools with salt or cold water or hot watter.👍

Great for the kids and good for adults some really cool features especially in spa area it is a little pricey and have to pay extra for the spa area but is enjoyable although cost limits regular visits for us as a family

Never seen so many people in my life!!! People with 2 years old baby's in the sauna (not even sure it's safe/healthy!), the "Gotten" are crowded (people stay for ages while there is other people waiting) and to top it, groups playing with balls in the pool... I mean, I can understand it may be a good option for families on a rainy day but then it's FAR from relaxing... We paid a 3 hour entrance and stayed less than 90 minutes...

Excellent indoor swimming pool, with a separate area for children's play and swim. Also a separate diving pool with 1m, 3m and 5m towers, as well as an interesting climbing wall up to 5m tall with a water jump. In addition, there are 2 fantastic speed slides. For an extra fee, there are also hot baths and sauna. Overall, great 2-3 hours of active fun with children.

I have been coming here for the last 35 years. Great sports complex with excellent indoor and outdoor swimming facilities. Sauna, wellness area, steam grotto and water slides. There is a restaurant attached that can be utilized both from the pool side and the outside. Food is good, prices are higher than in other restaurants, but nothing unusual for a location like this. There is special pricing available for students and some other groups. Families can get a discount too. You can go for free on your birthday and under 3 year olds are free too. Parking is free. Great fun! I will be back!

This place is amazing. There is a restaurant you can order from at the pool. You can drink a beer next to the pool and eat curry wurst! Kids are not free and you pay by the hour. It helps if you speak German, but everyone is very nice. Most people do speak English. The food is awesome, basically everything is good, and they do have regional dishes from that area. There are multiple pools and two water slides! Very fun! Make sure to pay extra for the vitality area! There are several mini gratis with pools at different temperatures including very hot to ice water. It has a steam room and a large pool with different jets and bubblers. You have to experienced to believe it! Awesome!

Palais Thermal Bad Wildbad is a renowned wellness center in Germany, known for its Moorish-inspired architecture and modern amenities. Once frequented by royalty, it continues to offer a regal experience with its indoor and outdoor saunas, therapeutic baths, and various massages and body treatments. Visitors can choose from a variety of pools and saunas with different temperatures. While initially hesitant about the clothing-optional policy on certain floors, many guests eventually embrace the experience.
Speaking English staff. Very clean compared to spa in Hungary. So well done 👏 quite, parking included, we only paid €1 for 3 hours, which is like free 😉 Also, in the Spa BW they have naked zones, which first i found quite oddly, but then I went with the flow and it's very liberating, I absolutely loved it. They have everything from big pool to small ones with hot water of 38'C, which is perfect for humans. Steam rooms, aromatherapy room, selection of different temperatures saunas. Highly recommended, excellent value for money. It is very relaxing and has a quiet experience. 💙🇩🇪

Reading the various reviews, we weren’t sure WHAT to expect! Indeed, we met the surly ladies at the desk, having arrived during a Sunday afternoon rush when they kept holding the line until other people came out . (Apparently, they ran out of lockers!) I’m amused that so many people complain about the nudity, given that you’re at a sauna in Germany! You’re allowed to wear a swimsuit in the historic part of the spa and in the super warm “blue pool.” It was about 70/30 naked during our visit. The sauna area and rooftop pool (not to be missed!!!) is 100% nude. Honestly, of all the places we’ve been, it felt weird to have swimsuits allowed alongside nudity. It sort of makes EVERYONE feel conspicuous. 🤷‍♂️ The place is an amazing labyrinth of nooks and crannies to explore. And I agree with the people who wish the warm pools in the historic section were warmer. 34•C is not very warm! I’m sure we’ll make our way back one day!

Fluffy towels and robes are provided for your use during your stay. The spa is excellent. The varied aufguss schedule runs hourly, we loved both the ice tea and music sessions and the varied scents used. The Moorish room is such a beautiful place to enjoy lunch. We had pizza and flamenkuchen - both reasonably priced and delicious. It was great to learn more about the history of the spa - thankfully a lady who spoke English translated it for us. It would be appreciated to have a version orinted in English to read and enjoy for those of us who speak German badly. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We left refreshed and rejuvenated.
Paul B — Google review
Firstly the interior is absolutely the stunning from the tiles and statues to the stained glass - all beautiful. The behavior we witnessed by other patrons was confronting, multiple individuals and couples were being sexually inappropriate with one another in public spaces. It made us extremely uncomfortable as we were there to relax. There were no staff members supervising/policing said rules. There was one particular male sitting on a water jet and moaning loud enough for staff at the cafe to hear and nothing was done. Note that you must be completely nude for the sauna, staff do not explicitly tell you this when you pay so if you’re not comfortable being nude (after what we saw there was no way we were) don’t bother adding it onto your pass. We will not be back. Stars provided as the interior is stunning. perhaps if we went on another day and people were acting like respectful members of society we would’ve had a phenomenal time. Alas this was not the case.

Calais thermal bad was simply amazing and relaxing! The facility is super well maintained and very clean, which wins mega plus point! ..Also the personnel is very helpful, friendly and professional! Pro tip: Mon-Fri. Palais opens only afer 1300h..The location is nested in the small town of Badwild Bad, Northern Blackforest, absolutely beautiful place to unwind and find your peace of mind! Best wishes! IH

AMAZING place. We come once a year from the United States. Note, 90% of what is accessible is cloning free - not optional. If you want to just relax in a warning bath there are rooms downstairs but if you want to enjoy the real saunas it is “textile” free - meaning you can walk around in a robe but when you go in you must be nude. When inside you bring a towel to sit on, but that’s it. Life is short, try it out! Literally no one cares what you look like inside.
Kim M — Google review
Very nice thermes! The ground floor is only bath and very relaxing with big and small baths with different temperature. The saunas are on the higher floors and have all a different vibe. There is a bar and restaurant allowing you to have a drink and grab a bite easily during your stay.

This place is amazing. I spent a whole day here. The baths are very special. Beautiful. I was lucky to have the sunshine on my side and spent most of my day relaxing upstairs on the roof terrace and popping into the saunas and the pool. Can't wait until I can go back

Treetop Walk Black Forest

Sights & Landmarks
Hiking area
Baumwipfelpfad Schwarzwald offers an elevated hiking experience with interpretive information and a striking spiral observation tower. It provides families with the opportunity to connect with nature and witness breathtaking views of the Black Forest from a unique vantage point. The wooden and steel structure leads visitors along a boardwalk to reach the 130-foot viewing tower, where they can enjoy panoramic vistas of the dense forest and rolling hills.
Wonderful place to visit with or without kids for a day or a few hours. One can walk, enjoy the beautiful nature, have a picnic or sit on a bench and rest. There’s a big playground for the kids, a picnic area, walking trails, educational boards, mountain biking trails and others. Everything is very well maintained. The walking tower is a must as the views from the top are spectacular! It’s a bit windy and chilly at the top desk so it’s a good idea to bring a scarf or a jacket (we visited in late May). The slide is a fun feature at an affordable price (€2). There’s a souvenir store before you go out. The parking lot is conveniently located just below the beginning of the trails.
Smilyana L — Google review
Great for young children, very educational. There is a 30 minutes walk to the peak, but with the activities along the way it could be over an hour. There are toilets at the end of the experience which is included in the price. Alternatively, there is one before entering which takes euro coins and gives no change back. I found this annoying as I hate to walk around with coins in my pocket. There are playgrounds at the end of the experience for children for which there is a separate fee. I would recommend it for or with children, for adults it is just okay.
Krisztian O — Google review
Great educational and overall experience. From the entry way a walkway with education and activities for children brings you to the main area with the treetop walkway. Once at the top of the walkway you'll be able to see to the horizon in any direction and there are helpful arrows signposting significant locations and directions. For the adventurous there is a quick way down for only 2€ At the base is a extensive play area for children. Overall a really good experience and very worth the entry fee.
Robin T — Google review
Good easy hike for the family. Fun nature facts are scattered throughout the walk (Kids 6yrs and 4yrs) though there’s admission fee and additional fees for the slide and the playground, worth it for the experience. Costs I’m sure go towards the upkeep. Everything is well maintained. Note: Bring 2€ coins to use the slide.
Christine B — Google review
A very cool place! We visited the Treetop Walk in the Black Forest and really enjoyed it. Since the upper parking lot was full, we hiked up through the forest - a pleasant and scenic trail that made the visit even more rewarding. If you prefer an easier option, there’s a convenient cable car from Bad Wildbad that takes you right to the top. The treetop walkway itself costs around €10 per adult and offers beautiful panoramic views over the Black Forest. It’s an easy, accessible path suitable for all ages. At the top, there’s also a fun spiral tube slide you can take down for an extra €2 - a fun touch, especially for kids (or adventurous adults!). Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Alex V — Google review
Absolutely wonderful walk through the forest. The Treetop walk is both stunningly beautiful and peaceful. If you are going on a weekend, try to go a little before or after midday (fewer folks up there). The views from the top of the tower are long and majestic. The Bergbahn runs up from Bad Wildbad every 30 minutes on the 15th and 45th minutes. Along the walking path are fun activities and some wonderful little bird box/people are hanging in the trees waiting to be discovered.
Henry B — Google review
This is so much fun and a very easy walk from the car park. It offers stunning views and the slide back down is so much fun! Do not miss!

Mummelsee is a lake situated in the Black Forest mountain range, surrounded by dense vegetation. It boasts spectacular views of the mountains and offers visitors a chance to experience tranquility and relaxation. The lake is 17 meters deep, making it ideal for activities such as pedal boating. Visitors can take leisurely walks around the well-maintained pathways that encircle the lake.
A charming lake nestled in the hills that cannot boast of size but certainly makes up for it with a beautiful backdrop. One of the prettiest lakes in Germany, with ample facilities for shopping and dining. Easily accessible by public transport from Baden-Baden. PS: The lake is a different beast altogether once it's frozen!!

Good hike up the hill - steep! Paths are well done. Viewpoint at the top. The lake itself is tiny, takes less than 5 mins to walk around. Shops/restaurant quite expensive for the quality. Bit of a tourist trap.

Beautiful place to stop and enjoy a break. Woodland and lake walks plus restaurant and various shops. The walks are great. If you’re around Black Forest, Mummelsee is a must. It’s eerie yet romantic — felt like a scene straight out of Raaz. Tried to cycle up to the begin point of railway but spent most of time walking with bikes so be warned!! It's steep!

Great way to experience the mountains of Baden-Baden. The day we went here, it was raining. So, the funicular saved our day. The ride to the top is fairly quick. Beautiful casino. We had such a good time playing roulette. There is a dress code to enter so be sure to check the website for the rules. The dealers and other employees were quite friendly and made for an enjoyable experience. It is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom as well.

Did the guided tour for 10€ less 1€ discount from our hotel. It really is worth doing. The casino is absolutely stunning with a fascinating history. The tour takes 40 minutes and you are allowed to take photos. A nice interlude on a cold day.

NOT GOING BACK. SERVICE NOT SO GOOD, ONLY 1-2 Tables (Roulette & something else). Didn’t see BlackJack and above all, no one there to provide any material gestures of guidance or hospitality. Actually saw the 2 tables at about 3-4PM, and was totally unimpressed. Baden-Baden yes, Casino pass it. The architecture is fantastic, and the inside quite clean. The coat-check lady was nice; but the Admissions lady was definitely not nice. I was well-dressed in a black-leather jacket, tux-white shirt and a gold-laced bow tie. The B forced me to drop €10-20 on an unnecessary jacket rental; and was a snot about it. Reminded me of my first encounters in East Germany when The Wall was coming down. They thought of everything, but the people and what they might need. Walking away, I saw the Illuminati of the Casio Bar. What could go wrong here? They had everything, but a bartender; because the 3 or 4 of them were kind of in the back corner talking. No attention whatsoever to customers. As an afterthought, a bartender appeared. WOW. For the $$$$ they were charging I worried about buying dinner. Service = 5/10. Real nice place if you want to hold your mouth open, but if you came to play Blackjack or another game—you’d have more fun by a long shot at the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Cafe (at half the cost). Not so cool. They have a lot to learn about taking care of the client. When I turned in my Jacket, Ms. N. Admissions was supervising the coat check lady with a specious, down-the-nose look. Really Surprised as was my darling. The surrounding promenade OUTSIDE OF THE CASINO was filled with Baden-Baden interest, history, and adventure.
Adam J — Google review
The Baden-Baden casino is truly stunning: an elegant, refined place full of history, definitely worth a visit. However, what a strange idea to force men to wear a jacket in the middle of summer, with the heat unbearable and the air conditioning not really up to the task. In the end, you end up sweating more than betting… A shame that such an outdated rule slightly spoils the experience in such a prestigious venue!

Absolutely gorgeous.. a must visit in Baden Baden!!.. it has a 200 yr old history.. the interiors are just amazing.. you could do a tour for a small fee earlier in the day or just soak up the casino vibes after 3pm. Even if you do not want to gamble you can always just get a drink inside 😉

Interesting building. I’m not a gambler and was there for dinner, but the interior is indisputably beautiful and well-maintained.

Perched on a hill overlooking Baden-Baden, Altes Schloss zu Hohenbaden, also known as Hohenbaden Castle, dates back to 1102 and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The castle was built by the Margraves of Limburg, later known as the Margraves of Baden-Baden.
Beautiful castle ruins that you can spot from Baden-Baden city centre and that you can visit either by hiking there (about 1h-1h30) or driving there (there’s a free parking lot, but not very big). It’s our second time here and both times it was raining, so bring appropriate clothing and footwear. Since it was very muddy, we didn’t explore the forest around much, we’ll try once again during our next visit this summer. But it’s still gorgeous and worth a visit!

Our favorite castle ruins in Germany so far! We have visited here twice (once in 2019 and again in 2023). The first time, they were doing construction, so we were unable to see everything. Thankfully, it was completed on our second visit and wow😍! They now have a great outdoor beer garden. What a great way to spend an afternoon. Don't miss this one.

Very cool place to visit even with kids with some fantastic panoramic views overlooking Baden-Baden and the Black Forest. I had a bit of a difficult time sometimes due to the fact that I’m afraid of heights 😅 but after challenging myself to go I did not regret it. I didn’t have enough time to look around as much as I wanted but I would like to come back one day with the camera to take better photos.

Highly recommend this self-guided, free tour of castle ruins in Baden-Baden; no crowds; explore at your leisure; offering sweeping views of Baden-Baden and the black forest. I was fortunate to arrive in-between rain showers - the sky cleared long enough to climb to the very top (challenging for those afraid of heights, but safe enough with hand rails) and take in spectacular views. You can access by car to a parking area at the base of the castle, or further down there are hiking trails and that appear to have water fountains. There is a public restroom as you enter (sans toilet paper), a restaurant and small cafe. Unfortunately there is some trash left by unappreciative people.

Beautiful old castle, and a great view over the area. We hiked there from the Merkur mountain, which I can strongly recommend.

As a free to enter attraction, it’s great, easy parking, affording great views over the Baden-Baden area from the top tower & will at least take the best part of a hour to explore properly.
