The Steiff Museum is a must-visit for families traveling on the A7 or A8. It offers an interactive experience with a stuffed toy hunt, 'petting zoo', workshops, and a huge slide. The museum showcases animals in various sizes and is enjoyable for both kids and adults. Visitors can also explore the outlet for good deals before purchasing from the store next to the museum. The tour includes a German voice-over of Margaret Steiff's life story and magical stories with soft toys.
one of our wishlist checked! since my daughter born, we're becoming Steiff fans. Finally today we were there (saturday) around 13 o'clock. There are only few people there, so we can enjoy the tour and the museum itself, and also the kids can play in the kids area. its really nice..the tour was memorable..not only the kids also for adults..

Good place to go. Worth not only for family and children but also for adults. You can find many collection of old teddy bears. They have store, restaurant and toilets too.

We had so much fun here :) We came to Heidenheim City for 3 days trip and came to here for half day visit. It was really sweet for both kids and adults. It’s nice to read the history and also very good presented. We have talked to the lady who is working in -Hand made - area, she is very kind and friendly, explained some aspects very nicely to us. And I was happy to read all those instructions in Japanese especially :)
Dina A — Google review
Small but really amazing museum showcasing the toys made by Steiff. The first part of the museum tour is really beautiful and we could hear the story of how it all began. The last part has a lot of big toy animal structures. A must if you are in this town with kids.
Emile M — Google review
Small and sweet, I would have liked to learn a little more about Margarete's life. But nice for kids and grown ups alike.
Katrine I — Google review
A great place to spend the afternoon with children. Such a fun, interactive experience for both young children and adults. Some places were a little overcrowded and we had a few rude families who pushed in front of our children instead of waiting their turn for certain experiences. But overall, it was great to learn about the history of the teddy bear and the gift shop was great. Definitely worth a visit.
Laura M — Google review
Growing up I owned a lot of Steiff animals ( still have them) and now I took my grandkids there to visit. This museum is absolutely amazing and interesting. You are part of their story when visiting
Lexe B — Google review
Not only kids but also adults can enjoy the story and exhibition. Good size museum for kids with high quality entertainments. The tour is available in De, EN and surprising Japanese.

about 600 meters of stalagmites and stalagtites. The tour takes one hour. Take warm clothes into the cave as it's a constant 8 degree celsius/46 Fahrenheit. It's a steep and strenuous short hike up to the cave entry. Inside the cave is easy walking, with only one section narrow and you need to watch your head. Best to order tickets in advance, or it is possible that all tours are filled up for the day.
Eberhard W — Google review
We visited spontaneously at Easter Monday and were very lucky that the kind lady at the ticket booth was able to put us in the first tour. It is highly recommended to reserve in advance, especially during weekends and holidays. The group size during the guided tour was not too big. The young guide David spoke very clearly , answered all questions and interacted with the children to make the tour very interesting for adults and kids alike. However, you spend a big part of the 1 hour tour walking as the cave is 530m long and you have to go back the same route. However, the cave is extremely well accessible. Just wear a jacket and good shoes. The cave maybe doesn't have big stalactites compared to other caves in Europe, but I love its uniqueness and it is definitely worth a visit. I also applause that they close in winter for the bats to hibernate without disturbance of visitors. You can spend many hours at the Charlottenhöhle surroundings as there is a huge nice playground, a small restaurant (cake was amazing! but you also get local and high quality fast food there), a museum and beautiful hiking options. Big free parking lot, although it might get busy sometimes.
Birgit E — Google review
I went here 2 months ago when I visited Germany, and I only just remembered to write a review. I visited the cave and really enjoyed it.
Victoria A — Google review
I do NOT recommend this for people who do not speak German. Overall, it is very OK cave. The tour guide was very nice… A bit long winded and the tour seemed unnecessarily long but she was very nice the whole time. Of all the caves in the area we’ve explored this might be my least favorite.
Sarah W — Google review
I liked the complete around the cave system. There were good opportunities for children to explore nature and play. The 'restaurant' was very basic but not bad. We went on a basic day in may and it was already quite crowded, so I guess in the summer it will be very crowded. The museum was artisanal but very enjoyable, friendly owner and sole nice expositions. I had mixed feelings with the cave. The girl explaining the aspects of the cave didn't look like she wanted to be there. The cave itself was nice but more long and narrow than imposing and high.
Yannick V — Google review
One of the most amazing caves on the Swabian Alps. Great cave guides. Nice stalacmites, stalactites and other variations. Path is a bit narrow sometimes, but always good to walk. Take a jacket with you as it always has around 9 degrees celsius in the cave. Keep in mind when visiting: For elderly people the way up to the entrance can be a bit exhausting.
Harry's W — Google review
A short walk from free parking across the street. About 15min It has a really nice view on top and an interesting history of ownership. And afterwards you can go to the water playground and have some lunch Recommend for people who want to go for an easy stroll
Aleksandar J — Google review
The Charlotte cave is a drip-stone cave on the Swabian Alb. The Charlotte cave is considered one of the most beautiful showcases in Germany with its drip-stone warehouse. The cave is 587 meters long with siding and is likely to be two and a half to three million years old. The opening ceremony took place on 17 September 1893. On September 23, Queen Charlotte of Württemberg visited the cave named after her.

A little more could be said about current caste types, but that is just a small detail. There are enough free parking spaces in front of the castle or at the avenue branching off. Very nice 20.9 meter tower. Great view of Aalen and surroundings. At the base of the tower there is a playground for children, lots of benches and tables, and a restaurant, but it was closed (July Saturday afternoon).
Yahazu — Google review
The place is about 200m above city level and may take around 40-50 by foot from the city centre. At top there is a restaurant and a observation deck. From the observation tower one can see complete city of Aalen.

Limesmuseum Aalen

Museum
Specialty Museums
Archaeology museum focusing on Roman artifacts, with an open-air excavation of a cavalry fort.
The history of the Roman occupation and their border and how they lived with very interesting. Aalen was the largest fortification along the Lines border. Lots of artifacts. Many info placards are in English as well as German.
Michael L — Google review
Car parking is free. In case if you are interested in history then this is the right place. Not crowded museum. A small coffee corner is there. Enjoy with your kids
Felix P — Google review
The limes museum in Aalen is a great place to visit. You can look through the indoor exhibition on two floors which tells the story of the Romans in and around Aalen as wells as the development and fall of the limes. Besides original and replicat exponats there are lots of modern information displays and interactive visuals. Outdoors your can walk around the remains of the former Roman camp and take a look at a reconstructed barrack. The indoor part is open till 17:00 on most days and you are allowed to stay in the outdoor section even after closing time.
Wunder H — Google review
Wonderful display of the Roman Frontier fort, and the tin figurine collection explains Roman days. The artifacts and recreations are well worth the visit as well! Handicap friendly!
Craig F — Google review
Absolutely recommendable visit. The museum offers a vivid and varied insight into Roman-Germanic history. I especially like the two thousand tin figures diorama. Impressive work. I wasn't aware until now how far south the Limes wall extended. With numerous and some extremely well conserved exponats and lots of illustrations and models the life of Roman soldiers is well documented. I especially like the focus on the various touching points where Roman and Germanic culture meet and somehow combine without giving up their own identities. The Roman eagle and the Germanic bear - a data collection of a precarious and cautious history full of wars, battles and countless skirmishes. But phases and local spots of a calmer and cautious coexistence were possible, too. It seems.
Astrid C — Google review
It was nice although the main museum was closed. Liked it! Roman outfits could be tried, was fun!!
Amruta J — Google review
Surprisingly fascinating. For Americans, the name is somewhat confusing. I thought it was going to be some sort of geology or cave or limestone exhibition. But "Limes" is a Latin word roughly meaning "limits." It seems Aalen was near the limits of the Roman empire and the Romans had built a wall just north of the city. The museum itself is built on site of an ancient Roman outpost and is filled with artifacts that have been found in the area. There are the remains of buildings partially unearthed on the grounds outside of the museum building. While you can travel to Rome and see better preserved evidence of the Roman empire, I learned more in this museum about the daily life of the Romans and their conquered lands than I had anywhere else. And if you are a thinking person, the "end" of the exhibit upstairs should give you pause and food for thought for quite some time to come. This is definitely worth a stop if you are live nearby or are simply driving anywhere near Aalen on your way to somewhere else.
Rand F — Google review
Very nice, modern and spacious museum about the Romans in the area of Aalen and the Limes in general. We were lucky because we happened to arrive at the right time on a Sunday afternoon where a free guided tour had just started (3 pm I think). The tour guide (in Roman outfit) was excellent and brought the exhibits to life for us with additional stories, facts and anecdotes. I can highly recommend this museum and tour. We didn't walk around the outside area much because we ran out of time and it was very hot but it looked very interesting. There is an area where children can try out clothes and helmets. We also found a small play area for young children (we were there with a 6 year old). I wasn't sure if this area was meant to be used or only as part of larger groups (it was a bit separate) but our daughter enjoyed playing there with the building blocks and setting up forts and castles. Unfortunately, the museum does not have a café area attached to it, so if you get hungry you need to go somewhere else. Perhaps it's too expensive for museums to run coffee places along the side. Maybe just a vending machine would do the trick. Thank you to the nice staff at this museum!

The Ulmer Rathaus is a beautiful and historic building right in the heart of Ulm. Its colorful façade, covered in detailed paintings and decorations, really stands out and gives you a glimpse into the city’s rich past. It’s one of those places you can’t help but stop to admire when walking through the old town. The mix of Gothic and Renaissance architecture makes it even more interesting. It’s definitely worth seeing, especially if you enjoy history or old European buildings.

This is a very impressive and magnificently preserved building. I am proud to be able to make this comment after experiencing it myself several times. If you are curious, please visit. The food is delicious, the service is fast. Very high quality black beer is served inside. The outside is full of handmade figures. Hz. Ibrahim Sacrifice incident is depicted. Jesus Christ is also shown. dating from the 1300s. Even the Ottoman coat of arms is present in the frescoes.
Hetz N — Google review
Very special building with colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past.Especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit.
Ramona D — Google review
No visitor misses the 3 most important hotspots of Ulm - the Münster, the "Schiefe Haus" and the very special "Rathaus" with its colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past - if you have the time, join one of the guided tours. The active townhall interior is nice, but renovated - the storytelling outside and especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit on the way down to the Danube or Fischerviertel.

Ulm Minster

Lutheran church
Sights & Landmarks
The Ulmer Münster is a Lutheran church built in Gothic style, located in the heart of Ulm City. It boasts the world's tallest steeple at 161.53 meters high and features an impressive carved choir. The church is considered a must-visit landmark in Germany, offering visitors a glimpse into the Middle Ages with its lovely Gothic architecture.
I visited the Ulm Minster on my birthday and it was such a special experience. The structure is absolutely breathtaking – you can’t help but be amazed by how tall and detailed it is. I found out it’s actually the tallest church in the world, with a spire reaching about 161 meters high! It took several centuries to complete, starting in the 14th century and finally finishing in the late 1800s. Walking around the cathedral, I was blown away by the gothic architecture and how well-preserved everything is. The inside is peaceful and beautiful, and just standing there made me feel so small in the best way. I didn’t climb the tower this time, but even from the outside, it’s super impressive. If you’re ever in Ulm, you must visit this place. It made my birthday truly memorable. Totally worth it! 😊
Pankaj S — Google review
Every nice church. This church has the tallest tower in the world. You can pay 7 Euros and walk all the way to the top. Please ensure that you are semi fit....it is a long and winding staircase of over 750 steps. But the view is worth it. They are currently doing some restorations to the church so please bear with the noise.
Lewis M — Google review
Ulm Minster is breathtaking both inside and out. The Gothic architecture is incredibly detailed, and the interior is full of history — especially the 15th-century choir stalls with their intricate wood carvings. The highlight, of course, is climbing the tallest church spire in the world. It’s 768 steps up a narrow staircase, but the panoramic view over the city and, on clear days, even the Alps, makes it worth every step. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and bright, with beautiful stained-glass windows and an impressive organ. The Münsterplatz around the church is also lively, with cafés and markets (the Christmas market here is fantastic). Be prepared: the tower climb is steep and not for everyone, but if you can manage it, it’s unforgettable. Overall, Ulm Minster is one of Germany’s greatest landmarks. Highly recommended!
Sumit P — Google review
It's majestic building! Breathtaking from inside and outside. There's a lot of things to say about this place but if you like to visit place like this - you must! Instead of talking about it, I will share some photos for you ☺️

€9, Oct 2025 To climb to the top of church 768 stairs, quite an exercise Pity that there is not much to see above. Mostly covered Cool thing that you can pay with card 👍👍👍
Chang Y — Google review
Ulm Minster is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic architecture and holds the distinction of having the 2nd tallest church tower in the world. Standing at 161.53 meters. It's interior is very impressive and magnificent with stained glass window and majestic Hall.
Sarath P — Google review
Ulm Minster is an absolute must-see — not only for its record-breaking spire, but also for the sense of calm and beauty it offers. It’s very easy to reach, just a short and pleasant walk from Ulm’s main train station through the charming old town. When I visited, there was some ongoing renovation work, with padding and scaffolding around the front and upper sections, which did slightly spoil the full view of the façade. However, the minor distraction did not take away from the overall experience — once you step inside, the atmosphere completely changes. The city’s noise fades away, replaced by a deep sense of peace and stillness. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a quiet moment of reflection, Ulm Minster is a beautiful and easily accessible place to visit.
Girish V — Google review
The Ulm Minster is absolutely breathtaking and a must-see if you visit Ulm. Its towering spire — the tallest church tower in the world — dominates the skyline and offers incredible views if you climb to the top. The interior is just as impressive, with beautiful stained glass windows and a peaceful, majestic atmosphere. You can really feel the history and craftsmanship that went into every detail. Whether you’re interested in architecture, history, or just want a stunning view over the city, the Ulm Minster is unforgettable.

Hotel Schiefes Haus

Historic Sites
Hotel Schiefes Haus is a charming riverside retreat housed in a historical half-timbered building constructed back in 1402. The rustic rooms are cozy and romantic, while the staff is highly professional and courteous, ensuring guests have a delightful stay. The rooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean, with a complimentary breakfast buffet featuring freshly baked bread, buns, jams, honey, cold cuts of meat and cheese as well as eggs cooked to your preference and salmon.
This is a really cool historical hotel which translates to “leaning house”. And it is literally a leaning house with slightly tilted floors and walls, like walking into a museum. The staff here are incredibly hard working and attentive and do so much. This is a rare experience to see. Make sure you book with the hotel because booking sites really raise the price.
Tommy H — Google review
Hotel Schiefes Haus is a fascinating building dating back to 1406, known as the world’s most inclined hotel. Originally a fisherman’s house, its leaning structure is due to uneven settling over centuries. The rooms are cozy and uniquely slanted, but beds are kept level for comfort. Located in Ulm’s beautiful Fishermen’s Quarter, it offers a great mix of history and a central location. A charming stay with a little quirk!
Pankaj S — Google review
Hotel Schiefes Haus is one of Ulm’s most unique landmarks — a charming, crooked half-timbered building that looks straight out of a fairy tale. When I visited, it appeared to be closed, so I couldn’t go inside, but I still took time to marvel at its unusual construction and distinctive leaning design. Even from the outside, it’s fascinating to see how the structure tilts yet remains beautifully preserved. Located right in the heart of the old town, just a short walk from Ulm Minster and the train station, it’s a quirky and memorable sight that perfectly captures the character of Ulm.
Girish V — Google review
The Hotel Schiefes Haus was absolutely amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful, the room and views were beautiful, and breakfast each morning was just what we needed to start our day of exploring Ulm. The Haus is so conveniently located to the heart of the city, but was also a quiet and calm place to relax at the end of the day. Ulm as a whole was so charming, and every time we come back in the future, we will definitely be staying at Schiefes Haus.
Ashley W — Google review
I spent a night in Ulm on my road trip back to Switzerland from Copenhagen and had chosen this unique hotel, that must be one of the most photographed in the world. Although the house in itself is far from horizontal, floors inside appear to be. Beware if you are really tall because it may be difficult to reach your bed through the low passages. Owner and staff are great and beds, shower and breakfast are up to the standards of the start rating. If you are lucky, you can enjoy a violin concert while sipping a beer in the shade on their veranda overlooking the little stream running parallel to the Danube river.
Sebastian R — Google review
Schiefes Haus, or “The Crooked House,” is one of the main attractions in the city of Ulm, Germany. This unique hotel is famous for its tilted shape and long history. Built in 1406, the building originally served as a merchant’s house before being converted into a hotel.
IWA S — Google review
This place is special. The floors are angled crazily. Apparently it was in the Guinness book of records back in the 90s when it was renovated into a hotel. For the convenience of the location and its special unique character you do have to sacrifice a bit of comfort. We stayed in the room on the very top floor. It took 4 steep flights of stairs to get to our beds. The shower over the bath was a bit awkward. But for us it was well worth it. Beds were comfortable. The decor is a bit dated (90s chique all the way) but everything is in very good condition. Special mention of the excellent breakfast. The service was also fantastic. Thanks!

This was the second time I stayed here. It Is an absolute stunning, cosy and romantic place. But also the staff is fantastic. They are very polite and do everything possible to make ones stay as pleasant as possible. The room and bathroom was spotless clean. The breakfast buffet (included) was freshly prepared with a variety of bread and buns, jams, honey, cold meat, cheese, eggs to your liking, salmon. Can't ask for more. A stay is definitely value for money. Thank you Ms Wolf and team for all your efforts and hospitality. Merry Christmas .

Located in the fishing district near the Danube, Schwörhaus is a captivating red and yellow baroque building from the 17th century. Today, it serves as the city museum. Every year, the elected mayor takes an oath here in front of residents. The building holds historical significance and houses an intriguing archive that tells the impressive story of Ulm. It's not only a great place to explore Ulm's history but also offers a glimpse into its oldest building.
Every year, the mayor comes out to promise to his people various stuff. I never believe his words and probably never will, because he is telling truth only 80% of the time, but the building still looks cool!

It's a nice small outlet with good small shops. The best one is the outlet shop of WMF. I can also recommend Ravensburger and Lindy.

It's fairly small and compact, but on the other hand there are a few specialties that you can't find too easily elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit.

This outlet is best for buying home appliances, compared to Mezingen outlet which is mostly about clothes. The WMF outlet here is gigantic and offers 2a-ware at a nicely cut price. 2a-ware products are open boxed products which equal in quality with Amazon's "like new" warehouse deals.

Blautopf, located about 1.5 hours drive from Munich, is a small town known for its natural blue pool. The peculiarly blue color of the water is due to the nanoscale limestone particles densely distributed in it. Visitors can take a round walk around the area and explore UNESCO-recognized artifacts made by humans around 40,000 years ago. Additionally, there are various recognized trekking paths to explore in the vicinity.
Blautopf is a very scenic and beautiful spot to visit. Bathrooms are available at the church right in front of the lake, and there’s also a small souvenir and ice cream shop nearby. Free parking is just a short walk away, which makes it really convenient.

St. Michael's Church is a must-see attraction in Schwabisch Hall, located right in the city center with its impressive tower and spacious square. Visitors can climb the bell tower for stunning views of the city, but should be mindful of the loud bells. The church boasts incredible historical architecture and hosts live theatrical plays on its steps during the summer. It's a beautifully restored building that showcases a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, with some chapels featuring Baroque decor.
St. Michael's...wow! What a beautiful church, inside and out. Make sure to climb the tower for amazing views of Schwabish Hall! They have live theatrical plays on the steps during Summer which is awesome. Great cultural learning.

Free Wi-Fi is available, and there are also several outdoor seats if you’d like to enjoy the fresh air. A versatile spot — perfect for meeting friends, casual hangouts, or even getting some work done. Personally, I consider this the most delightful café in Schwäbisch Hall.

Märklineum Store

Museum
Model train store
Specialty Museums
Model railway exhibits from the renowned manufacturer, covering 1000 square meters, plus a shop.
Really enjoyed my time at the museum. The many well executed interactive elements (some with high educational value also) and Märklin showcasing their long history of toys besides model trains makes it a museum worth visiting for the whole family.
Sander H — Google review
This is set out on 3 floors. The first being a shop floor with a cafe. The second floor is part of the museum and is more like a historical look back at some of the products and toys this brand has made and sold. Finally the third floor is where all the model trains are kept (Behind plexiglass) For many people who are into trains, this will undoubtedly be a pleasant place to visit. My only concern is the high entrance fee to visit the 2 floors which are essentially a brands selection of previous products (a show room) and so the 10 euro per adult fee seemed disproportionate for what it was. Sure it’s a nice place to visit, and those with a keen interest in trains and train models should really enjoy this. But i can’t see the value in relation to the cost and what was on show. I personally think the first floor (no charge) is the best option and skip paying the high fees to visit upstairs.
Mrs R — Google review
So cool lots of cool things to see. So much history about model railroad hobbies. There's lots to see and do here make sure you have at least an hour to view the museum. And more if you want to go see the HO layout in the basement. If you are in the area definitely check it out 10/10
Oliver S — Google review
Awesome place! There is an outside exhibition of train(s) and train models, and museum is great if you are a Märklin. You can also buy tickets online in advance, or as a voucher to your friends. Train models of different sizes are on sale in the museum.
Engin G — Google review
Nice museum and shop. The factory section to see the manufacturing was closed. Had to pay 10 euro to enter which seems extreme as it is advertising for the brand. The prices at the bistro were very good though. The bistro employees were very friendly and helpful.
Märklin Z — Google review
Märklineum: The Märklin Museum and Bistro are Closed undergoing reconstruction until approx September 2019, when it should be open for the 2019 Göppingen model expo. The Gift/Model Shop, Technical Centre and the Fund Grube are open and very well stocked with all the current stock as well as the Complementary display Items from all the leading Brands There are items in the Fund Grube that ard at a reduced price, either below quality for shipping or extra items like loads for wagons or special items. The Buildings are fully accessible with a very wide stepless entrance. It's very well laid out with good space between the display cases, there are toilets and lockers behind the Technical Desk. There is a wooden train-set to try and keep the littlest ones distracted while you look through the Book shelves.
Jason T — Google review
If you are into train models then this is the place to visit! It was a eyeopener for me as I never new a small model could cost 3-4000 EUR!! A 20cm electric rail track 180 EUR! This is definitely not a hobby for kids but kidults!! 😁 who can spend cash on their hobby.

On the last day of our road trip in Germany, we leisurely followed the GPS towards Munich Airport. My wife exclaimed in amazement, "This church is so beautiful!" My instinct told me that if we didn’t stop to visit, we would regret it. And it turned out to be true! In my mind, this place is the most beautiful and comforting church I’ve ever seen. Beyond the church, the nests on the roof added another charm. Friendly people, a wonderful Sunday.

The facility is modern and thoughtfully designed, with excellent accessibility for people with special needs. Everything is clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend visiting, whether as part of a weekend wellness getaway or a day trip. For thermal spa lovers—this place is a real gem!

I love this therme. It’s clean. Lots of options from nice pools, saunas, salt room and chairs to relax on. The view is beautiful and always enjoy a nice meal when there. I can’t fault this place at all. It’s one of my favorites in the Stuttgart area.

This place is brilliant. Staff are great and have limited English but they still tried and it's much better than my non existent German. So you pay and they give you a watch which controls the gate to get in and exit. It also locks and unlocks the lockers which is smart You get into a changing cubicle get changed and exit out the other side where the lockers are. Put your stuff in and follow the crowd. If you have never been to a public bath it's good etiquette to wash first before getting into any of the pools. There's quite a lot to choose from in various different temperatures so you'll find one that will suit you The most fun one is the whirlpool where you just grab a foam stick wrap it around you and the water will carry you around the large pool where there are various jets that can massage you. 13 euros for 2 1/2 hours which I think is plenty is pretty cheap . There's also saunas but you will have to go in stark naked. Thoroughly recommended

Review for the Thermen I visited on a Monday evening, and it was a great experience. The place wasn’t crowded, which made it even more relaxing. I wasn’t aware beforehand that Mondays have an optional swimwear policy, so you can wear or not as you prefer. There were plenty of places to lay down and unwind. There’s also a 45°C steam bath and an 85°C Finnish sauna, both ideal for deep relaxation. The on-site restaurant. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to relax, and I definitely recommend it!

Super waters with great temperatures! This Therme ranks among my favourites in terms of value for money, quality, cleanliness and super restaurant. Even being here on one of the most crowded times, everyone was respectful and friendly, even the few children that were here were very well behaved. The bonus of being attached to a hotel and clinic and only steps away from the campervan parking lot sealed it as a top-favourite of mine.
Lisa C — Google review
Whilst this establishment has everything available from the lovely indoor and outdoor thermal pools and availability of lovely restaurants it was not for us. Way too crowded. If you want peace and tranquility not a place to go to. It is extremely noisy wirh so many people. Also there are no options for less time., 5 hours is overkill. Also whilst its great having pool aerobics available the instructor couldn't actually care less and appeared completely bored with what he was doing. The change room cabins need overhead lighting as well. Perhaps its quiter in the week but people cannot always go in the week.

It is a relaxing place. The crowd is older. There is a senior citizen discount. There is a 4.5 hour visit time at a bargain price.

the water is fantastic and pleasantly warm. The 38-degree outdoor water was real this winter !! I definitely recommend it to anyone who goes for it!

Urach Waterfall

Nature & Parks
Wildlife refuge
Scenic & dramatic waterfall in a forest, with a 37m sheer drop, accessible only by footpath.
A beautiful place with a shop at the waterfall, fresh air. About 2 km walk through the forest. If you have the opportunity to go - don't miss it!
Kyamil S — Google review
Trek was good and a very peaceful place. Will have lot of dog lovers in this place. Since we visited during summer water was less. But if it was other than summer it would have been an awesome experience.
Kushal K — Google review
A beautiful waterfall with a small but nice hiking trail. But be careful when you walk up the stairs toward the fall, as it can be slippery. The water is crystal clear.
J T — Google review
Very nice waterfall. Depending on the route you go up or down beside the waterfall and the stairs where the water runs across. Path is steep sometimes so you do need good legs to complete the route.
Pieter V — Google review
The place felt a bit overrated. There were a lot of people, and the waterfall wasn’t very impressive, the water flow was quite small. There was also a bit of water on the stairs. Maybe we went at the wrong time. The place might be more beautiful when the water volume is higher. We visited in mid-May and were a bit disappointed.
Yuzena K — Google review
Easy hike to the bottom, a little more effort to get to the top. If the waterfall is running strongly the stairs and path may also become a river, so tread carefully as not to slip. Recommend sturdy hiking shoes and waterproof if possible. At the top depending on the time of day you will be rewarded with a small shop with refreshments and wonderful views back down the valley you hiked along. If you have the energy you can also swing around to the castle ruins for more exercise and views of the surrounding area. A great activity that is rewarding and leaves me feeling accomplished at the effort. I have taken many friends to see this waterfall and only have received positive feedback.
Christopher C — Google review
On a sunny day, it's really one of the most beautiful hikes. There is a 10kms loop that goes to Urach and Güter waterfall. But you could also do a shorter 2km to the bottom of the fall or continue for about 600m on a steeper, stairs hike to the top of the waterfall. 100% worth it either way. I did the trail from all trails. Well marked, but can be slippery especially if it just rains. Parking; You can park at P23 for 5 euros a day, but there is a parking lot just after you cross the train line, on the right, and it's free. I was there at 8.30 and the whole lot was empty A must visit if you are in the area
Chandana G — Google review
It’s a pretty small waterfall, but wow—what a view! Totally worth the effort. Getting down was a breeze with all the excitement, but the climb back up was definitely more of a challenge. Still, with a few breaks along the way, it’s absolutely worth it!

Shopping
OUTLETCITY Metzingen in Stuttgart is a top shopping destination, attracting a large number of visitors daily. With its vast collection of stores and boutiques covering 5000 square meters, it offers an enjoyable browsing experience for shoppers. As Europe's largest outlet by sales area, it boasts 150 premium and luxury brands with discounts of up to 70% year-round. The mall is known for its best discount times in January, May, and July/August.
Amazing collection of many of the major fashion brands. Very nice location and good services all around! Staff are really helpful, regardless in which shop you are, and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended if you are nearby.

Nice shopping spot - lots of shops, very well organized and easily accessible. There are a lot of parking spaces. Toilets are accessible and very clean. Everything is organized in such a way that you don't worry about anything and just do your shopping. For the shops themselves I would say that for some things I usually find better deals online. However, there are a lot of people who prefer shopping from outlets.
Plamena M — Google review
Wao! So many great brands staked-up at one place and discounts were amazing. Stopped there to see one black Jeans and ended up buying one black Jeans and one chinos plus lindt chocolates, gucci shoulder bag. Parada shop was filled with good bags, just got late and missed my reserved bag pickup. But no worries, will touch it for sure on our next trip to Germany.
Sharif K — Google review
A large shopping center with many world-class brand stores at reasonable prices. There is a list of all stores in the photos. Parking is not a problem, there are many parking garages and parking areas. There are cafes, restaurants and bistros. They do their best to ensure the satisfaction of visitors.
Helena — Google review
The OUTLETCITY in Metzingen is one of the big down in Germany. The products are made in china or Africa and the prices are sky-high. The restaurant food is overpriced and even the drinking water is not affordable in this summer and charging 3 euros for a small pet bottle. The Drinks wending machine is not working and you need to buy from only those restaurants.
Praveen R — Google review
Amazing place it is like a village and offers everything (food, coffee, drinks etc.) I couldn’t say that the discounts worth the visit as it is an average 30% minus the initial price. You have to search a lot to find a real offer. It ils also really crowded but that is normal for a place like this. I couldn’t imagine that you have to pay parking fee (2€/hour!!!) in a city outlet where you go to spend money for sure 👎
ΓΙΩΡΓΟΣ Σ — Google review
Good area for shopping brands, sometimes discount mentioned with up to % can be misleading. On weekends or during holidays it is hard to find parking which are close to the shopping area.
Uarora — Google review
Almost all brands' outlet stores are in the same neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is 12 minutes' walk from the central trainnstation. You can from any of them to other on walk. You may find really good prices if you have enough time.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is a true architectural and historical masterpiece, offering an immersive journey that appeals far beyond just automotive enthusiasts. It is, without a doubt, one of the best corporate museums in the world and a must-visit landmark in Germany. Brilliant Architecture and Chronological Design The building's ingenious double-helix architecture guides the visitor through time. You ascend to the top floor—the birth of the automobile—and then spiral down through nine levels, witnessing 130 years of history unfold chronologically. This unique design ensures a seamless and captivating flow. The lighting, presentation, and curation of the exhibits are world-class, giving every vehicle, from Karl Benz's first patent motor car to the modern F1 racers, the reverence it deserves. Innovation Contextualized in World History What truly elevates this museum is how it integrates the vehicles with parallel world history. Each exhibition floor connects Mercedes-Benz's technical progress with defining moments and culture of that era. You see the evolution of luxury, safety, and racing innovation—including the legendary Silver Arrows and the iconic "Gullwing" models. The sheer volume and diversity of cars, trucks, and prototypes are breathtaking, illustrating Mercedes-Benz's influence on global mobility. Conclusion: For its stunning design, technical depth, and engaging historical context, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a powerful experience. The exhibition is impeccably maintained, the staff are helpful, and the ticket price offers fantastic value for a deep dive into industrial heritage. Allow at least three to four hours to properly explore this brilliant celebration of engineering. Highly, highly recommended when visiting Stuttgart.

It was a unique experience from my side. After having parked the car, we entered to the museum and took the elevator to the top floor where you are going to start your journey. From classic cars to classic sport cars and from recent road stars to formula cars. I mean simply amazing. The most important thing to do in the city.

⭐ 10/10 — a place I’d gladly visit again I visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum on a Sunday and it turned out to be a great decision. It wasn’t crowded, so I could walk around comfortably and really enjoy the atmosphere. The whole place is extremely clean and well-organized, and you can see how much attention is put into every detail. The audio guide was another highlight: clear, easy to follow, and filled with interesting facts. It doesn’t just talk about cars, but also about the history and the world around the inventions. At some points it genuinely feels like a small time-travel experience. Even if you’re not a big car fan, the museum still has a lot to offer. It tells a wider story about innovation, progress and the people behind it all. Each floor adds something new and keeps you curious. I’m not adding too many photos here because I’d rather keep some intrigue for future visitors. If you’re in Stuttgart, this place is definitely worth a visit. 👉 Highly recommended 👍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An outstanding experience! The Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart is truly impressive, beautifully designed, perfectly organized, and full of fascinating history and stunning cars. The storytelling from past to present is exceptional, and every floor offers something unique. A must visit in Stuttgart for anyone who appreciates quality, innovation, and great hospitality. Highly recommended!
Filippos V — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum isn't just a place for car enthusiasts; it is a meticulously curated journey through industrial and global history that easily earns its five stars. The experience begins with a profound reverence for innovation, celebrating Mercedes-Benz as the true pioneer of the internal combustion engine—the very invention that birthed the modern automobile in 1886. The cloverleaf architecture is genius, guiding visitors chronologically through the "Legend Rooms." You descend through nine floors of history, witnessing the evolution from the first Patent-Motorwagen to the latest concepts. The promise of the museum holds true: it has all the cars, showcasing an incredible collection of over 160 vehicles, including legendary Silver Arrows, luxurious Popemobiles, and iconic vehicles from every era. What elevates this museum far above others is its educational depth. It skillfully weaves the story of the founders, Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler, presenting not just their creations, but the entrepreneurial spirit and visionary ideas that drove them. Even more impressively, the museum integrates this automotive narrative with the broader history of the world, offering context on social and technological upheavals, allowing you to see how the car shaped (and was shaped by) the events of each period. It is a stunning, comprehensive, and perfectly presented exhibition that honors a legacy of engineering excellence. An absolute essential visit in Stuttgart!
Micu V — Google review
The Mercedes-Benz Museum is nothing short of extraordinary—a world-class experience that blends automotive history, innovation, and storytelling into one unforgettable visit. From the moment you step inside the striking, futuristic building, you’re transported into the rich legacy of one of the world’s most influential automotive brands. What impressed me most was the sheer breadth of historic Mercedes-Benz models on display. The museum takes you on a chronological journey, beginning with the very invention of the automobile and guiding you through decades of engineering achievements, design evolution, and cultural impact. I was genuinely amazed to discover just how deeply Mercedes-Benz has been woven into major historical moments over the years—whether in motorsport, luxury travel, or groundbreaking technological advancements. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated, offering the perfect blend of information, visuals, and interactive elements. This isn’t just a place for car enthusiasts, though they will certainly be in heaven. It’s an experience the whole family can enjoy. There’s so much to see, explore, and learn that even those who aren’t deeply into cars will find themselves captivated. The museum is spacious, beautifully organized, and designed to keep visitors engaged at every turn. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time—at least a few hours—to truly appreciate everything the museum has to offer. From early prototypes to legendary racing cars, from elegant classics to modern innovations, every level reveals something new and fascinating. Incredible in every sense, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is a must-do for anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the brand or simply curious about automotive history, this museum delivers an experience that is both inspiring and unforgettable. Highly recommended.

Wilhelma Zoological and Botanic Garden is a vast zoo and botanical garden located in a former royal park dating back to the 19th century. Originally created as a private retreat for Swabian King Wilhelm, it has now become one of Germany's largest zoos, attracting over two million visitors annually. The site features Neo-Moorish style buildings set amidst lush gardens, offering a unique setting for its diverse collection of animals and plants.
Beautiful garden + zoo which is so nicely maintained. The garden is spectacular. There is the cactus area which would mesmerize all garden lovers. The surroundings are well kept. The Amazon experience is amazing. The animals can be viewed closely, that's how the landscaping is done for their enclosures. Multiple restaurants are within the Wilhelma zoo. Not to forget some lucky ones even got peacock feathers. We visited on a Saturday with kids and it was a day well spent.

Huge place to visit, great value for money of you go on sight seeing. Wilhelma is both a botanical and a zoological garden with a great collection in both fauna. There are a lot of things to do for children (special places were they can climb and play) but as well as a lot of places to grab something to eat or a coffee or a … bear.

A definitively magical and beautiful place with both elements of botanical and zoological garden. Truly a timeless experience full of joy, surprises and inspiration on every step. Even though it takes me more than 4 hours to get there from Hanau, the time is well worth it and I will be coming back.

Wilhelma is an absolute must-visit and a stellar example of modern zoological care! From the moment you step inside, the entire park feels incredibly well maintained—a truly pristine environment. The focus on animal welfare is clear; the complex features very good, spacious animal sanctuaries that clearly contribute to happy animals throughout the exhibits. It's truly heartwarming to see the dedication of the staff, and it’s obvious there are a lot of workers enjoying their job, which adds to the positive atmosphere. A fantastic, ethical, and beautiful day out!

Its not just a zoo. Its a place you can spend a whole day , like a picnic. There are plants , some animals ( not.like a typical zoo) Activities for kids ! Its a good place to bring family. We visited on the Halloween day , there was lot of decor for the festival along side activities. Tram drops you right outside the zoo. So its easy to reach and find. Cons- lion , tiger and other wild animal areas are enclosed and extremely stinky.
Dr R — Google review
I have visited zoo and botanical gardens lot of time but the trip to Wilhelma was a unique experience. It is constructed such that to give a natural habitat to the animals while people can also experience how the animals of wild look like. You can see them real close through glass windows. This was a very unique experience. There are all kinds of animals and birds. Since I have been only one time, due to limited time, I couldn't visit the Amazon forest and botanical gardens. But I am thinking of getting a yearly pass next year. Amazing experience. The nature truly is amazing and beyond words.

All this green area , birds and animals is a joy of soul and eyes. Never had this much of calm in a very long time. I am happy that I visited it today. Note : I arrived at the gate and it was opened and none there , I stepped one foot to see where is the staff and a guy firmly asked me to step outside again. I didn't and showed him my ticket , he check it and then allowed me to enter. His behavior was so rude.

Ascend the Stuttgart TV Tower, a renowned landmark offering breathtaking city vistas and an adrenaline-pumping experience for thrill-seekers. This architectural gem stands at 217 meters tall and features open-air viewing platforms at around 150 meters, providing unparalleled panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, the Alb, the Black Forest, and the Odenwald. Delve into its history at the on-site museum before savoring a meal at its restaurant while soaking in the mesmerizing scenery.
Prob the tallest tower in Europe n the view from up there is wild! Lift takes just 36 secs to shoot u up. Saw Stuttgart from way above—stadiums, highways n all. Def worth it. If u can, carry a binocular for extra fun at the top. A must-do spot!
Sandeep B — Google review
The TV tower in Stuttgart is an impressive landmark and well worth a visit. It is included in the Stuttgart card, and there is also free parking right at the site which makes the visit easy. The ticket office doubles as a small souvenir shop with many interesting items, adding to the sense of arrival. Going up just before sunset proved to be a magical choice, as the city and surrounding hills slowly changed colour with the fading light. The panorama from the top is wide and striking, stretching far across the region. It is one of those places where the timing of your visit makes a big difference, and sunset truly enhances the experience.
Navid G — Google review
A striking feat of engineering and a symbol of post-war innovation in Germany. Completed in 1956, it was the world’s first television tower built using reinforced concrete; an architectural model that inspired towers worldwide, including those in Toronto and Johannesburg. Standing 217 meters tall, the tower offers panoramic views of Stuttgart, the Neckar Valley, and even the distant Alps on clear days. A high-speed elevator takes you to the observation deck, where the city unfolds in all directions. Informative displays at the base explain its construction and global significance, making it more than just a lookout, it's a monument to modernist vision. Whether you're an architecture buff, a history lover, or just chasing the view, the Stuttgart TV Tower delivers a sky-high experience with substance.
E P — Google review
Best view of the city could be possible from here. It is first TV tower so worth to visit and experience the engineering at that time. Price is bit too much under 10 euro make more sense, may be maintenance or whatsoever cause for current price. There is restaurant, funny is price is super expensive and rules is per sit you have to buy food, even for kids too. Plus we had experience from one lady staff member and feel not so welcoming only smile came after tip 😏. I would recommend to bring your small food or whatsoever stuff with you and go to the tower to enjoy the view only.
Ankit R — Google review
Easy to park in front of the tower, nice view of the city and elevator! Only the staff at the panorama cafe was a bit slow when we were waiting to be sit down, otherwise good.
Tomáš I — Google review
Was actually a very nice experience. I went on a late Sunday night, everything was closed so decided to give the tower a chance. The views were great up there and the staff very friendly. To go up there is some info that you can read and the elevator was very smooth. Supposedly there is also a cafe up there. Since was Sunday it was closed.
Ricardo F — Google review
Great view at the sunset. I went on a Monday end of August, there was no line and very easy to park the car. Elevator goes up to 150m. Altitude on the top is ~643m you have a good look of Stuttgart. Take a jacket because it’s windy at the top.
Raphael K — Google review
Ah, Fernsehturm Stuttgart – that “boring concrete tube” suddenly turns out to be one of the most satisfying viewpoints in Germany. From the ground, it looks like just another TV tower, but step onto the observation deck and… bam! Stuttgart, vineyards, and the Alps all in one shot. Suddenly you realize you’ve been looking too low your whole life. The elevator is fast and comfortable – perfect if you don’t want to tire your legs, and the spiral stairs? Oh, those don’t exist, so you can just feel like a VIP enjoying the city from your perch in the sky. The deck is high enough to give a slight “oh wow, this is high!” thrill, but not so high that you need to grit your teeth. In short: Fernsehturm Stuttgart looks unassuming until you go up and discover it’s more spectacular than many so-called “Instagrammable architectural stars.” The queues are minimal, the views are maximal, and the satisfaction of feeling on top of the world is absolutely guaranteed.

Schlossplatz is a central square in Stuttgart, known for its gardens and the 1841 Jubilee Column. It's a hub of cultural activity with open-air concerts and summer festivals. The area also showcases modern sculptures by renowned artists like Alexander Calder, Alfred Hrdlicka, and Otto Hajek. Street art enthusiasts will appreciate the city's creative scene, including a popular tourist attraction called the Hall of Fame in Bad Cannstatt.
Some places aren’t just beautiful — they speak to something inside you. Schlossplatz is one of them. The old stones seem to hold quiet stories, and the evening light paints the buildings like someone is brushing the city with love. I just stood there, listening to a violinist, soaking in the moment. If you're nearby — don’t rush past. There’s a kind of peace here, even in the middle of the crowd.

Not a public place. Often taken over by private shows and activities which block the views to the visitors. Should not be a location for shows and events. Visitors are interested in the natural beauty of the state property with no commercial events or shows. Money is always king of the people

Schlossplatz is truly the heart of the city and absolutely deserves five stars! It is a stunning, beautiful landmark that immediately impresses visitors with its grand scale; it's a truly large square perfect for relaxing. What makes it exceptional is how impeccably clean and safe it feels, clearly being well-protected by police presence, allowing you to enjoy your visit worry-free. After enjoying the scenery and the calm atmosphere, you'll love that the surrounding area is packed with many excellent restaurants to eat at. A perfect central destination!

Not that impressed by Schlossplatz. The building and the park are nice but it was very very crowded. Not sure what it is exactly but it is missing the vibe that cities like London or Paris have… On the positive side; we found Coffreez; a really nice coffee take away bar. See foto.

It was really crowded when we went. There are a lot of cool things to see here. A lot of shopping as well. The flea market was open when we went, so we got to see a lot of old items. We went in the November, and they were setting up for the Christmas Market.

Stuttgart hasn't that much to offer to visitors if you don't count two outstanding car museums in its suburbs. The central area is mostly modern and new rebuilt after WWII grounding of entire city. Schlossplatz, or the Palace square is the best attraction from historic point of view. Like you might conclude it's in the very center. A huge Wurtemburg Kings palace dominates the square on the eastern side. In the middle is the unification obelisk erected in honor of Wurtemberg joining the German confederation, with two nice fountains. The square is full of people having their free time and picnic there, while around the square are several bars and restaurants to sip a drink and enjoy the beauty

This park is probably biggest park in Heilbronn to hangout or to spend quality time in summer, specially. The park is divided into two parts, on the one side there is a beautiful garden with a small water canal and on the other side there is a big lake. It also equipped with playing elements such as slides and swings for kids. The park is decorated with beautiful flowers at the back side. It also includes sitting arrangements with a pretty view of colorful flowers. On the other side you can have a nice walk along the lake. Important thing is, it is near to Trappensee and also train station.

We recently had the chance to visit the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and it was an incredible experience. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by a stunning display of design, speed, and innovation that reflects the true **triumph of German engineering**. From the earliest Porsche models to cutting-edge concept cars, every exhibit showcases precision, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of performance. The museum's architecture itself is strikingly modern, mirroring the brand’s forward-thinking spirit. We were especially impressed by the motorsport section, which highlights Porsche’s dominance on the track and the technological breakthroughs behind it. Whether you're a lifelong car fan or just curious, the museum offers a deep appreciation for what makes Porsche — and German engineering as a whole — world-renowned. We left inspired and uplifted especially my husband who is cars enthusiast! Definitely must see!

Visiting this place is a must if you appreciate automobiles and the culture surrounding them. Although it is located a bit outside the city's heart, the experience is worth the travel. Be prepared for a potentially bustling atmosphere, as many people share your interest. To avoid queues and ensure entry, consider purchasing your tickets ahead of your visit. Enjoy the impressive assortment of Porsches on display for you to admire.

Such a cool experience to be able to go here, loved the interactive bits but the story telling could’ve been done better for Ferdinand Porsche’s life. Coming from my time in the Mercedes Benz museum down the road which did their story telling impeccably. Definitely go here though, would highly reccommend if you like looking at high horsepower monsters and multi million euro cars!

Car enthusiasts will love it. The museum will give you a diving in the history of Germany and automobiles. The visit starts at the visitor center going up to the 8th floor down. There’s parking on the streets nearby and some parking nearby the museum. Parking garage is also available nearby. Tickets may be bought online or in person. It is kids friendly and wheelchair accessible. There’s a souvenir store, a restaurant and more downstairs from the visitor center.

The Porsche Museum is absolutely incredible and a must-visit for anyone who loves the Porsche brand. The collection is stunning, with so many iconic cars from throughout Porsche’s history displayed in a beautifully curated space. From groundbreaking race cars to legendary road cars, every exhibit highlights the brand’s innovation and engineering excellence. My personal favorites were the Nurburgring record-breaking 919 Evo, which is breathtaking to see up close, and the Carrera GT, a true masterpiece of design and performance. The museum perfectly captures what makes Porsche special, and it’s well worth the trip for any automotive enthusiast.
