Märklineum Store

Museum
Model train store
Specialty Museums
Model railway exhibits from the renowned manufacturer, covering 1000 square meters, plus a shop.
Really enjoyed my time at the museum. The many well executed interactive elements (some with high educational value also) and Märklin showcasing their long history of toys besides model trains makes it a museum worth visiting for the whole family.
Sander H — Google review
This is set out on 3 floors. The first being a shop floor with a cafe. The second floor is part of the museum and is more like a historical look back at some of the products and toys this brand has made and sold. Finally the third floor is where all the model trains are kept (Behind plexiglass) For many people who are into trains, this will undoubtedly be a pleasant place to visit. My only concern is the high entrance fee to visit the 2 floors which are essentially a brands selection of previous products (a show room) and so the 10 euro per adult fee seemed disproportionate for what it was. Sure it’s a nice place to visit, and those with a keen interest in trains and train models should really enjoy this. But i can’t see the value in relation to the cost and what was on show. I personally think the first floor (no charge) is the best option and skip paying the high fees to visit upstairs.
Mrs R — Google review
So cool lots of cool things to see. So much history about model railroad hobbies. There's lots to see and do here make sure you have at least an hour to view the museum. And more if you want to go see the HO layout in the basement. If you are in the area definitely check it out 10/10
Oliver S — Google review
Awesome place! There is an outside exhibition of train(s) and train models, and museum is great if you are a Märklin. You can also buy tickets online in advance, or as a voucher to your friends. Train models of different sizes are on sale in the museum.
Engin G — Google review
Nice museum and shop. The factory section to see the manufacturing was closed. Had to pay 10 euro to enter which seems extreme as it is advertising for the brand. The prices at the bistro were very good though. The bistro employees were very friendly and helpful.
Märklin Z — Google review
Märklineum: The Märklin Museum and Bistro are Closed undergoing reconstruction until approx September 2019, when it should be open for the 2019 Göppingen model expo. The Gift/Model Shop, Technical Centre and the Fund Grube are open and very well stocked with all the current stock as well as the Complementary display Items from all the leading Brands There are items in the Fund Grube that ard at a reduced price, either below quality for shipping or extra items like loads for wagons or special items. The Buildings are fully accessible with a very wide stepless entrance. It's very well laid out with good space between the display cases, there are toilets and lockers behind the Technical Desk. There is a wooden train-set to try and keep the littlest ones distracted while you look through the Book shelves.
Jason T — Google review
If you are into train models then this is the place to visit! It was a eyeopener for me as I never new a small model could cost 3-4000 EUR!! A 20cm electric rail track 180 EUR! This is definitely not a hobby for kids but kidults!! 😁 who can spend cash on their hobby.

A must if you are a railway nuts like me, however my wife enjoy it too, cafeteria food was good with friendly staff all over. Not adding photos you must go and find out

Located in the fishing district near the Danube, Schwörhaus is a captivating red and yellow baroque building from the 17th century. Today, it serves as the city museum. Every year, the elected mayor takes an oath here in front of residents. The building holds historical significance and houses an intriguing archive that tells the impressive story of Ulm. It's not only a great place to explore Ulm's history but also offers a glimpse into its oldest building.
Every year, the mayor comes out to promise to his people various stuff. I never believe his words and probably never will, because he is telling truth only 80% of the time, but the building still looks cool!

The Ulmer Rathaus is a beautiful and historic building right in the heart of Ulm. Its colorful façade, covered in detailed paintings and decorations, really stands out and gives you a glimpse into the city’s rich past. It’s one of those places you can’t help but stop to admire when walking through the old town. The mix of Gothic and Renaissance architecture makes it even more interesting. It’s definitely worth seeing, especially if you enjoy history or old European buildings.

This is a very impressive and magnificently preserved building. I am proud to be able to make this comment after experiencing it myself several times. If you are curious, please visit. The food is delicious, the service is fast. Very high quality black beer is served inside. The outside is full of handmade figures. Hz. Ibrahim Sacrifice incident is depicted. Jesus Christ is also shown. dating from the 1300s. Even the Ottoman coat of arms is present in the frescoes.
Hetz N — Google review
Very special building with colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past.Especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit.
Ramona D — Google review
No visitor misses the 3 most important hotspots of Ulm - the Münster, the "Schiefe Haus" and the very special "Rathaus" with its colorful paintings and details. Almoust like a huge history book, these paintings, writings and coat of arms tell a lot about Ulm's past - if you have the time, join one of the guided tours. The active townhall interior is nice, but renovated - the storytelling outside and especially the huge and complex astronomical clock is worth the visit on the way down to the Danube or Fischerviertel.

We visited Ulm and the Rathaus stood up nicely as we got to the town from the car park. It’s really impressive with nice paintings and a very unique architecture. An old building that seems new and different. You should really see it if you visit Ulm

Ulm Minster

Lutheran church
Sights & Landmarks
The Ulmer Münster is a Lutheran church built in Gothic style, located in the heart of Ulm City. It boasts the world's tallest steeple at 161.53 meters high and features an impressive carved choir. The church is considered a must-visit landmark in Germany, offering visitors a glimpse into the Middle Ages with its lovely Gothic architecture.
I visited the Ulm Minster on my birthday and it was such a special experience. The structure is absolutely breathtaking – you can’t help but be amazed by how tall and detailed it is. I found out it’s actually the tallest church in the world, with a spire reaching about 161 meters high! It took several centuries to complete, starting in the 14th century and finally finishing in the late 1800s. Walking around the cathedral, I was blown away by the gothic architecture and how well-preserved everything is. The inside is peaceful and beautiful, and just standing there made me feel so small in the best way. I didn’t climb the tower this time, but even from the outside, it’s super impressive. If you’re ever in Ulm, you must visit this place. It made my birthday truly memorable. Totally worth it! 😊
Pankaj S — Google review
Every nice church. This church has the tallest tower in the world. You can pay 7 Euros and walk all the way to the top. Please ensure that you are semi fit....it is a long and winding staircase of over 750 steps. But the view is worth it. They are currently doing some restorations to the church so please bear with the noise.
Lewis M — Google review
Ulm Minster is breathtaking both inside and out. The Gothic architecture is incredibly detailed, and the interior is full of history — especially the 15th-century choir stalls with their intricate wood carvings. The highlight, of course, is climbing the tallest church spire in the world. It’s 768 steps up a narrow staircase, but the panoramic view over the city and, on clear days, even the Alps, makes it worth every step. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and bright, with beautiful stained-glass windows and an impressive organ. The Münsterplatz around the church is also lively, with cafés and markets (the Christmas market here is fantastic). Be prepared: the tower climb is steep and not for everyone, but if you can manage it, it’s unforgettable. Overall, Ulm Minster is one of Germany’s greatest landmarks. Highly recommended!
Sumit P — Google review
It's majestic building! Breathtaking from inside and outside. There's a lot of things to say about this place but if you like to visit place like this - you must! Instead of talking about it, I will share some photos for you ☺️
Aizarg — Google review
€9, Oct 2025 To climb to the top of church 768 stairs, quite an exercise Pity that there is not much to see above. Mostly covered Cool thing that you can pay with card 👍👍👍
Chang Y — Google review
Ulm Minster is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic architecture and holds the distinction of having the 2nd tallest church tower in the world. Standing at 161.53 meters. It's interior is very impressive and magnificent with stained glass window and majestic Hall.
Sarath P — Google review
Ulm Minster is an absolute must-see — not only for its record-breaking spire, but also for the sense of calm and beauty it offers. It’s very easy to reach, just a short and pleasant walk from Ulm’s main train station through the charming old town. When I visited, there was some ongoing renovation work, with padding and scaffolding around the front and upper sections, which did slightly spoil the full view of the façade. However, the minor distraction did not take away from the overall experience — once you step inside, the atmosphere completely changes. The city’s noise fades away, replaced by a deep sense of peace and stillness. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a quiet moment of reflection, Ulm Minster is a beautiful and easily accessible place to visit.
Girish V — Google review
The Ulm Minster is absolutely breathtaking and a must-see if you visit Ulm. Its towering spire — the tallest church tower in the world — dominates the skyline and offers incredible views if you climb to the top. The interior is just as impressive, with beautiful stained glass windows and a peaceful, majestic atmosphere. You can really feel the history and craftsmanship that went into every detail. Whether you’re interested in architecture, history, or just want a stunning view over the city, the Ulm Minster is unforgettable.

Amusement park
LEGOLAND Germany is a family-friendly amusement park featuring thrilling rides and an aquarium, as well as impressive replicas of German landmarks constructed from LEGO bricks. Visitors can opt to stay at the LEGOLAND Hotels within the Holiday Village, which offers access to various amenities including restaurants, playgrounds, and a high ropes course. The park also provides opportunities for guests to observe the LEGO manufacturing process and create their own LEGO bricks. Additionally, there are water rides that offer an adrenaline rush.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 We had an amazing time at LEGOLAND Germany! The whole family enjoyed it from start to finish. October was a perfect time to visit—great weather and fun Halloween decorations throughout the park added to the magic. There were rides for all ages, and the kids especially loved the playgrounds and interactive areas. One of the smartest features: dedicated play zones near some of the rides so kids can stay entertained while adults wait in line—brilliant! The park layout is very manageable—flat and easy to walk without feeling exhausting. Bathrooms were accessible and food prices weren’t too crazy for a theme park, which was a pleasant surprise. All around, a fun and memorable family day. We’ll definitely be back (got the annual pass)!
Adriel R — Google review
A very successful experience for children aged 4-12. A large place with lots of options that are very difficult to complete in one day due to the long lines for most of the facilities. You have to arrive with a lot of patience. Overall, this is a park where the attractions themselves are not crazy, but the "wrapping" of Lego does its job. The place is very neat and clean and easy to navigate. Overall, this is a recommended day out for the family.
Yonatan A — Google review
This is in my opinion the best of the 3 Legoland parks in Europe. Everything is good value here, especially the food and the quality of said food is fantastic. I went into the pizza restaurant and paid around €16 for a fresh out of the oven pizza and amazing chocolate tart. They both felt like they came from an expensive restaurant, very tasty and beautiful presentation. You have the best selection of rides here from small to thrilling. A really good variety - the best being Maximus. An absolutely thrilling b&m coaster which despite the short ride time, offers some incredible moments of weightlessness. The park is kept tidy and clean - the bathrooms are cleaned very regularly. Queues are managed well and have the bonus of single rider if you're a lone traveller like me. Saves a lot of time. Theres a few little themed shops dotted around and although a couple were closed on my trip due to the time of year possibly, there's still a lot on offer. More than any other Lego park in Europe like I said. I had the best 2 days here and I can't wait to come back again.
Hannah T — Google review
We took the kids to Germany and our first stop before traditional castles and museums was Legoland Germany! We LOVED it. Drove straight from airport to the hotel (we stayed at the Pirate Hotel), checked in, then did a full afternoon and evening till close. We ate at the steak restaurant near hotels and onsite for snacks, lunch, etc. We prepaid for breakfast at Pirate hotel. Because of birthdays, we did the birthday package (they decorated the room and more) and because tip mattered we did the VIP package. THIS was worth every penny! We skipped the line at every ride, got extra swag & mini figures, and store discounts [don’t forget to ask for tax refund forms at the store (typically 100 or more spent)]. The staff are awesome and most are bilingual if you are rusty. If you are a LEGO fan or traveling Germany with kids, this place is worth every penny! For the super fans, they had themes we found no where else (e.g. adventure series at the log ride); and rides that are not found at the US Legolands. Augsburg and Ulm are nearby if you need a culture/ museum break.
Chris D — Google review
We spent lovely 2days here, great experience for us, adults and our kids. We had lovely weather, so a lot of people arrived, and some attractions were crowded, and we had to wait. Luckily it was just occasionally. Plus was Halloween decorations and products that can bring home🎃🎃 Thank you, will come again.
Katerina J — Google review
Great place for young kids . We spent one day there , 2 would have been better as we didn’t see everything. Very reasonable as once you pay all the rides are free . Ideal kids age 5-12.
Felicity W — Google review
An absolute dream holiday location for my family and I. My son and daughter loved it, the rides were great, food was good and queues were decent. Staff were very friendly, parking wasn't an issue and having Peppa Pig Park right next door made it ideal for my 2 year old daughter too! It was also great fun for my wife and I. Unforgettable memories were made and we cannot wait to visit once again!
David C — Google review
If you or your kids like LEGO then you must visit, the place is huge and there are a lot of activities for all ages. To really cover it you need at least 2 days to get on most of the rides. The only downside is the large ques that form so you don't like to wait a lot then maybe pay more for the express pass. You can also get tickets online for both the park and the parking which I recommend to save some time.

It’s nice to read the history and also very good presented. We have talked to the lady who is working in -Hand made - area, she is very kind and friendly, explained some aspects very nicely to us. And I was happy to read all those instructions in Japanese especially :)

Small but really amazing museum showcasing the toys made by Steiff. The first part of the museum tour is really beautiful and we could hear the story of how it all began. The last part has a lot of big toy animal structures. A must if you are in this town with kids.

Small and sweet, I would have liked to learn a little more about Margarete's life. But nice for kids and grown ups alike.

A great place to spend the afternoon with children. Such a fun, interactive experience for both young children and adults. Some places were a little overcrowded and we had a few rude families who pushed in front of our children instead of waiting their turn for certain experiences. But overall, it was great to learn about the history of the teddy bear and the gift shop was great. Definitely worth a visit.

Growing up I owned a lot of Steiff animals ( still have them) and now I took my grandkids there to visit. This museum is absolutely amazing and interesting. You are part of their story when visiting

Not only kids but also adults can enjoy the story and exhibition. Good size museum for kids with high quality entertainments. The tour is available in De, EN and surprising Japanese.

Very nice 20.9 meter tower. Great view of Aalen and surroundings. At the base of the tower there is a playground for children, lots of benches and tables, and a restaurant, but it was closed (July Saturday afternoon).

One star deducted for the breakfast, which was enough to fill you up, but wasn't a highlight. Overall, absolutely fine for one night. (Original) Wir sind sehr nett empfangen worden. (Translated by Google) Extremely friendly and helpful service, the location is central with private parking. The rooms are fine for a weekend getaway. The breakfast is sufficiently varied, and everything can be ordered later. The owner even went to the market for us to get peppers and cucumbers for breakfast! The central location is, of course, underscored by the appropriate sounds (church 100 meters away, storks on the rooftops). Kirchturm Daniel

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Kirchturm Daniel is a must-visit attraction in the town, offering an amazing experience. Visitors can enjoy the stunning views of the whole town from the top after climbing approximately 370 steps. The tower keeper has interesting stories to share, including one about a pig that may interest Attack on Titan fans. On weekdays, visitors have the chance to explore the tower and meet Frau Wendelstein, a strong and majestic female cat residing there.
Landmark of the old city. a 90m high which served as a watch tower with guards alerting each other during night with a famous shout. you can take the 350steps and reach the 70m platform and enjoy the panoramic view of the village. payment by cash at 66m in the watchman room with pictures of famous visitors.
David A — Google review
A must see if you are in the area! The church itself is fantastic inside and out. But the tower is the main attraction. A few hundred steep steps to the top and you're treated with some of the best views I've had in Germany. You do have to pay 4€ per person to get to the viewing platform but it's so worth it (remember to bring cash!). As well as being an incredible experience for Attack on Titan fans, this was one of the highlights of my trip!
Ross H — Google review
You can enjoy the view of this walled town on the top of Kirchturm Daniel. Many people visited here because of AOT. There's a notebook to leave your comments up there. Find mine;)
Jacob L — Google review
We came here all the way from Munich on Monday, 10 Nov 2025, specifically to see the view from the tower. Alas, it was apparently closed on that specific day—no explanation given! I understand you need to do maintenance work sometimes (I only presume it was closed due to that, because the sign didn't say…), but why not update the Google Maps page?? If we'd seen on Google maps that it's closed, we would not have come from Munich (a 2 hour car ride…) What I find extra annoying is that the sign says "thank you for your understanding". What understanding? There's no explanation, so I don't "understand" anything!
Anna F — Google review
To my surprise, the cashier is located right on the top of the tower! Yes, there are lots of stairs to climb. But the wonderful view on the top of the tower worth it! Do pay a visit!

The tower was amazing. It really feels like you’re a giant when up in the tower. If you’re an Attack on Titan fan, please ask the tower keeper to tell you the story about the pig, and you will find some similarities with the series. Lots of “Tatakae” and “Sasageyo” writings everywhere. Beautiful look at the wall. Can only recommend.

Castle and Gardens Weikersheim

Cultural landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Count Wolfgang of Hohenlohe's 17th-century palace with ornate knights' hall & statue-filled gardens.
I attended a wedding here and the place is fabulous. The Chapel is lovely, perfect for a wedding. The gardens are so beautiful, during evening the place looks great. The Oranjerie it's one of the best places where you can have your wedding, the place is wonderful. Would definitely recommend to visit the castle and why not, if you are in the need of a place for an event, this is a must try.

Beautiful place and great story. They had a guide but he was German, book in advance for English guide. Bring a jacket, even if it is warm. The castle is cold, wait extra 20 minutes to see original painting after tour or go see the beautiful garden with Koi fish.

A beautiful place. We go here every year for the double concert event "Kultursommer". The inside of the main building looks like 400 years ago... beautifully restored. The grounds are well-tended.

A little gem that is absolutely worth visiting. There are two tours, one of 60 min and one of 80 min with a difference of 2€. I highly reccommend to take the longer one. The gardens are also wonderful and talking a walk there is very relaxing.

17th century palace. the highlights are the Knights Hall and the enlightened Mirror Room. the Stone facade are typical from the Area. with a guided tour you get to know the history and see the Baroque Apartments. take the big castle tour and dont miss the royal rooms.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the region! The castle itself is not too big, but the ballroom is extraordinary and the garden is marvelous. The guided tours are only in German, but you can get a small leaflet in English describing all the rooms, so you can get an idea what the guide is talking about.

Cathedral of Saint George

Catholic church
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of Saint George, located in the charming town of Dinkelsbuhl, is a late-Gothic masterpiece that dates back to the 15th century. The cathedral's striking architecture, including a Romanesque doorway from an earlier period, has left visitors awestruck and deeply impressed. Many have described feeling a sense of spirituality and tranquility upon entering the cathedral.
The historical and religious center piece of the town. A real middle age testimony.
Barefoot C — Google review
The Catholic church, that we see now, was built in the middle and end of the 16th century and was built for 51 years. Before that, it is assumed, that the church of St. Ursula stood on this site, which was built here 400 years earlier, around the middle of the 12th century. The church is certainly interesting primarily from an architectural point of view and it is national treasure since 2018. If you are in the city you will never pass by.
Io L — Google review
Prominently located in the center of the old city, this is one of the most beautiful late Gothic churches in southern Germany built during 1448-1499 with a free-standing Romanesque tower portal built earlier than the current sanctuary during 1220/30. It was extended and connected with the church in 1238. Eleven pairs of pillars support a varied ribbed vault inside. The high altar with a large shrine tablet (crucifixion scene, around 1490). It's really impressive to be in this church looking at all the details of architecture. I was attempting to imagine the great sounds of the pipe organ (3939 pipes) in this spacious sanctuary... Altars: The Sebastian altar (1520) and Trinity altar (1500) in the south aisle, the cross altar (after 1470) and the neo-Gothic Joseph altar in the north nave, the ciborium altar with Pieta in the ambulatory (1490) was in the 17th century destination of numerous pilgrims. The baptismal font, pulpit and sacraments house are artistic stonemasonry from the time it was built. The famous "pretzel window" indicates a foundation of the bakers' guild. If you are in Dinklesbühl, this is a must stop. You will be amazed to see all the details of this medieval church...photos will give you some ideas, but they really don't justify the real thing IMHO.

Harburg Castle

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Harburg Castle, located on the Romantic Road in southern Germany, is a well-preserved 12th-century castle complex with a mix of architectural styles. Despite enduring numerous sieges and wars over the centuries, it has remained remarkably intact. The medieval covered parapets, towers, turrets, and red-tiled roofs create an almost cinematic setting. Guided tours offer insight into the castle's long history and are led by knowledgeable historians or curators who make the experience entertaining and informative.
The Castle was truly amazing, we did visit on our own but I recommend going with a tour guide because it can show more things like the interior of more important rooms in the castle, on your own you do not have access to them. But overall, it was a beautiful experience, the whole place was very well maintained and there is alot to see, you can really get immersed in the medieval feeling of this Castle. Highly recommend to visit!
Deian B — Google review
This is a well preserved castle near a wonderful little town of Harburg. The walkway from the town is whimsical, do not skip it. The castle has been in the same family for many centuries, they just recently transferred it to a non profit and opened to the public. They still have their residence here, and while those rooms are open for visitation, no photography is allowed. I definitely recommend to go for a guided tour,as it's the only way to see the inside of the castle, to climb the walls and explore it for real. For English speaking visitors they have a printout that follows the tour, but you are still seeing everything on the inside . It was a well spent time.
Elllen K — Google review
I had a great visit! They were very lovely and accommodating as I had my dog with me and due to the weather they allowed me to carry it during the castle visit and avoided missing the great guided tour . But this might be allowed only for small dogs that can be carried in travelling bags. So please check first.
Iuliana B — Google review
I’m so happy we found this place. We were looking for an authentic Medieval experience and this castle delivered. It wasn’t crowded at all and you can take your time exploring. It felt just like we were back in the Middle Ages. The tickets are cash only but it was only a few euros per person. The gift shops and restaurant take credit cards and they were not crowded.
Adam A — Google review
Great castle. Plenty of parking, easy to walk around and freindly staff. They charge you to just get in which you can basically just walk around the courtyard. There's another fee to tour the inside. Although the fee is reasonable, just viewing the courtyard for a fee is a bit much. The inside tour was very rushed. There is a lot to see in the rooms and a lot of artifacts and pictures with dates, but they rush you through without a chance to see and read it. At the end, they leave you in an art gallery that is not very impressive. Maybe reverse this, make the art gallery part of the general admission and allow more time to look at the real artifacts in the rooms. Overall, still worth a visit.
W R — Google review
Good parking. Easy walking. Reasonable admission but additional tour fee to see interiors.

The castle is very beautiful outside, but not on the inside. The inside is in a terrible state of preservation, and not very beautiful overall The tour in the inside is only in German, and it's basically about who are the people in the paintings. There is a falconry session there. For me it was not very exciting, but if it's your thing, go for jt

A must visit and dogs are allowed too, every other Sunday they are even allowed to be off leash for play dates. But still recommend to keep them leashed unless your recall is good or other dog owners want contact. It’s just a decent manner to do so between dog owners :)

The Schlosspark is a stunningly beautiful garden, especially when the rhododendren are in bloom. One part of the park is inspired by the Japanese style, while the other part - which is still being extended and worked on - features a moor and has been left to nature. You can easily spend 3 hours in this park if you explore all the hidden paths and maybe have a seat on one of the many benches, to enjoy the views. It's one of my favourite places to visit! Don't forget your camera. ;)
Silvia L — Google review
Needs a lot of work and almost doesn't have any flowers (at least it didn't in April) not much love is given to this place as it seems abandoned and run down, even though the Schlosspark could be something really amazing if some work were REALLY put into it. The café does make good Flammkuchen, I give it that. The restaurant was closed because "of the season" which was quite disappointing. The place was a let down but hopefully it can turn into something great with a little bit of work and advertisment! Good luck 🤞

very place to visit. but is a shame we can't take picture in the tour.
Alex C — Google review
baroque-renaissance residence, place of sitting for the Markgraven. you can only visit with a guided tour, a gothic hall on the ground floor is open freely. the tour is a series of rooms and story of the owners. the place is under heavy renovation works (outside and inside), plans for end 2025 to be reopen without limitations again, but the replica is there to see especially the ceiling rococo in the fest Halle. the place was barely damaged in war so you could actually see original stuff from the 18th century.
David A — Google review
The palace offers an engaging visit that can be completed within an hour. Visitors have the opportunity to explore several interesting rooms and gain insightful information about the site. Guided tours are available and provide a great experience; however, they are conducted exclusively in German. For non-German speakers, understanding the full context may be challenging, as the information is presented in a printout sheet, which does not entirely capture the essence of the experience. Also some of the rooms are under repairs and are not visitable. Additionally, the ground floor features a porcelain exhibition, enhancing the visit with an interesting cultural touch.
Petros P — Google review

We very much enjoyed this museum. We were here in December, and it was chilly, but it was still nice to walk around and experience the old buildings. Most labels are not in English, but with a phone camera and Google translate, that is not as issue. For the price of the ticket, seeing these wonderful buildings is a great value. I highly recommend.

Really cool museum to wander around and an awesome traditional restaurant from the 1600's. We love open air museum and this one didn't disappoint. Easy to park in their parking lot. If you have time after wander through the town or even drive through it. So beautiful 😍

Really immersive and well done with lots of displays, giving you a real idea of what it must have been to live back in those times. The bath house was my favourite. This would be a great place to visit with kids as they can just run around freely. I wish we had more time. The archaeology museum was a unexpected highlight. Have to visit again!

The Open Air Museum is interesting, it transports you to 700 years ago, there you can see and enter the houses, see the architecture of the time and imagine the way of life, furniture of the time, the area is large so you will surely ca . You will be walking for 2 hours, adult admission costs 7 euros. There is a toilet and benches between each area to contemplate the landscape. I liked it, it is suitable for all the curious 😊👍🏻.

Another great place. Good value at €7 for an adult, includes the barn buildings in town as well. Plan a good 3 hours for your visit, maybe take a picnic. The beer gardens are quite expensive as they put the prices up for tourists.

Also dog friendly, dogs are allowed on leash in the open air areas and service dogs can also enter the indoor museum. There is also a water station for dogs at the restaurant. On some days there are demonstration and workshops like weaving or wood working. Those cost extra and probably would be enjoyed most as an extra visit since there is so much to see. If you live nearby it's worth looking into the membership which provides you with a yearly pass at an affordable cost and also supports the work of the museum.

Amazing historical village!! Very big, needs a whole day to explore but very enjoyable and well preserved and maintained. But not all informations are translated in English

This place is great to get an impression how previous generations lived. The old buildings are super realistic and it looks like the people just left. Different old trades can be explored, old machinery and live animals complete the great experience. In addition we really enjoyed the delicious food in the Biergarten at the entrance.

Indoor & outdoor spa including a saltwater flotation pool, massage/treatment rooms & a sauna area.
Very nice experience, lots of saunas, lots of nice pools, perfect for relaxing. Kid friendly, and is one of the best Thermes I've been to.
Atticus T — Google review
I was there twice. We had a lot of fun both times. The last time I was there, the sauna and one of the toilets were being repaired. It would be good if there were discounts for the family. Or a separate environment would be created for children and their companions. I understood that most people come to this environment to relax and find the noise of the children disturbing.
Hadi B — Google review
I’ve been to maybe 20-30 Thermen in Germany and Austria, but this one is my absolute favorite. It’s pure relaxation. There’s nothing here to entertain children so it’s primarily adults who only want to relax. It’s always clean and we have the best time every time we go.
S — Google review
Overall a nice experience. It is a must to do if you are nearby and you like salty water, Sauna, warm water or just to chill some time in water. Sometimes it's a little bit too crowded and you hate to have more patience, or you have to wait at the restaurant, or you have to wait for a long long time to find a chair or a place to sit.
Ionut R — Google review
The place is huge, really nice if you are a robust guy who doesn't float in normal pools. There were so many things i couldn't visit everything in one day.

Always fine. I have been coming to the Franken-Therme for years.

One of our preferred German thermal bath with saltwater basins. Experience the zero gravity! Perfectly clean, modern facility. Do not miss the cloud and light show. Was our second time, but wil go back if we get a chance.

Nice !! A Super cruise around one of Middle Franconian's best lakes (Bavaria/Germany). A top tip= Go on a FRIDAY morning to get the 2 for 1 (adults) tickets for a 1.5hr cruise. Sit up the front if you can. On a sunny day it's relaxing, beautiful & picturesque... take your camera. The evening/sunset cruise is a very good option too.

St. Lorenz Church is a restored Gothic church in Nuremberg, Germany, which suffered severe damage during World War II but was rebuilt. The church features impressive interior artwork and a large organ. Visitors can explore the Nuremberg Old Town with a local expert guide to see four beautiful medieval churches, including St. Lorenz Church, and learn about their unique historical stories.
Absolutely beautiful. Historical cathedrals with their spires, intricate side chapels, and impossibly high ceilings are a must-see for me. I just can't imagine praying in one... I'd be too distracted!
Ash K — Google review
St. Lawrence is the Cathedral Church of Nuremberg with twin bell towers. It is located in Alstadt very center surrounded with many market stalls. Church is free to enter with tall classic Gothic arches inside with very few stained glass. WWII devastations miraculously spared the twin towers which only endured minor damages
Dejan B — Google review
Gothic masterpiece church dominating southern part of old town was built over the period of 2 centuries from 1250 to 1477. It was burnt out at the end of WW2 and reconstructed in 1952. Artwork was preserved in underground bunkers prior to bombings, so wooden rosary with suspended in mid-air figures and stain glass are original to medieval period.

Almost a twin of the St Sebald (might be?) but with it's own architectural marvel. In a large market square with farmer market and many open square restaurants
Don D — Google review
St. Lorenz Church is one of the most important Gothic churches in southern Germany and a defining landmark of Nuremberg’s old town. Built between the mid-13th and 15th centuries, it was originally a Catholic church but became Lutheran after the Reformation in 1525. Its twin towers and richly ornamented façade dominate Lorenzer Platz. The church measures approximately 91 meters in length, 27 meters in width, and its towers rise to about 80 meters high — making it one of the largest churches in Bavaria. We didn’t have the chance to go inside, as a concert was taking place at the time of our visit. However, even through the closed doors, the sheer power of the sound resonating from within was striking — a clear reminder of the building’s scale and extraordinary acoustics.
Anna K — Google review
St. Lorenz dominates Nuremberg’s Old Town with its towering Gothic façade and twin spires that seem to pull the eye upward the moment you step into Lorenzer Platz. The intricate stonework of the main portal and rose window is stunning up close, and the scale of the building makes it impossible to miss while exploring the city center. Originally built in the 13th century, the church was heavily damaged during World War II and carefully reconstructed, a reminder of both destruction and resilience in Nuremberg’s history. Inside, it houses important works of art, including Veit Stoss’ soaring wooden Angelic Salutation and stained glass that dates back to the Middle Ages. Even if you only admire it from the square, St. Lorenz offers one of the most striking examples of German Gothic architecture in the region and connects directly to the layered history of the city.
E P — Google review
Hugely impressive historic church! Worth a visit.
Danny E — Google review
St. Lorenz Church in Nuremberg is a breathtaking example of Gothic architecture that left me in awe. The towering twin spires and the intricate façade draw you in, but it’s the interior that truly captivates. The soaring vaulted ceilings, stunning stained glass windows, and the elaborate sculptures create a space that feels both grand and intimate. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are remarkable, making it easy to lose yourself in the beauty and history of the place. St. Lorenz is not just a church; it’s a masterpiece that speaks to the soul.

The Imperial Castle of Nuremberg, also known as Kaiserburg, is a majestic 11th-century castle complex that includes a royal palace and gardens. Perched on a sandstone cliff overlooking the city, it is divided into three parts: the imperial castle Kaiserburg, noble buildings in Burggrafenburg, and other structures to the east in stadtische Burganlage.
One of the most well kept castles for its size and age. Not a lot of English info so prepare to get the audio guide if you want to know more about the castle. Had fun climbing the tower and the views of Nuremberg were unmatched!
Elle F — Google review
One of the iconic castles of Germany, with loads of imperial connections, and well worth braving the rather steep ascent (the views are great, too). Part of the fortifications that lure you up are actually the city wall, not the castle proper, but the overall effect is what counts. If you are spendthrift, skip the castle interior (interesting, but nor overwhelming), and definitely do not eat there (much better value can be found around the nearby Dürerhaus or in town).
Bernd B — Google review
Definitely worth the price of admission. Lots of walking so wear good shoes. Make sure to check out the bridge near the bus drop-off point for the best view. No photography once you are inside. The castle is fabulous. There are bathrooms and a small Cafe inside. Get there early to avoid the crowd.

Nuremberg Castle Beautiful castle with great panoramic views of the city! 🏰✨ The climb up gives you a bit of a sweat, but totally worth it once you reach the top — the scenery is amazing. Perfect spot for photos and enjoying the old-town vibe from above.

From other reviews, didn't believe there'd be a lot of items to see in the museum. Was very surprised at the amount of historical items and information provided. The views of the city were fantastic along with the historic background. Very easy walk even inside the museum and inner grounds. I highly recommend to anyone visiting.

The Imperial Castle is the symbol of Nuremberg. Since the Middle Ages its silhouette has represented the power and importance of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation and the outstanding role of the imperial city of Nuremberg. From 1050 to 1571, all Holy Roman Emperors resided – at least temporarily – in the Imperial Castle. An archeological exploration of the grounds of the castle has revealed remains of a fortress.

The Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds in Nuremberg is a striking example of architecture repurposed for learning, offering deep insights into the history of the Nazi regime. It's my second time visiting this complex and I can highly recommend it. This time, I found out that the museum itself has been closed for several years already due to extensive renovations. Unfortunately this wasn't very clear online and when you get there the signage isn't very clear either - we walked right past the containerized ticket booth because when you walk towards the building from the parking lot, you can't see the signage. However, visiting the special exhibition was worth it. It's immensely important to expose yourself to our history - maybe one day we will learn?
Kerstin B — Google review
Historical interesting but the museum is very small. Better go outside to have a look at the impressive structures

It was closed due to a rock concert. With all the camped attendees, it was a bit on the nose

Impressive to imagine what took place here years ago. Would have been nice to have some pictures/explanations outside in the visitor’s viewing place

Worth a visit. They are currently renovating and I expect that the updated museum will be excellent. No real signage for the other outdoor paths and buildings. We saw the interim exhibit and it was quite complete. €5 cash to park. Couple this site with the Nuremberg Court Rooms. (Make sure to pay the street parking fee as a whole line of cars got ticketed outside the court room.)

Erlebnispark Schloss Thurn

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Virtual reality games, water slides & coasters in a family park with carousels & a boating lake.
This is our favorite park in Bavaria to take our grandchild. Everything about this park is perfect for children up to 9 or 10 years old. There is never a huge line for rides, and the shows are always good. The prices at the concession stands are always reasonable, and there is plenty of seating scattered throughout the park. A day at Schloss Thurn is always fun.
Patrick S — Google review
This amusement park was so much fun! Children and adults both had a great time. The park is really big so even if there are a lot of people, it won’t get so crowded. We went here during the weekday and didn’t have to wait for any of the rides/activities. There are so many things to do in this park and it was not possible to try everything. We’d definitely want to come back here.
Don P — Google review
It's a blast, huge, great park for a family with kids under the age of 10 or 12. It's really kitch. It is a bit run down. It has a nostalgic charm. I thought the entrance fee was a little high, compared to similar amusement parks. The food was reasonably priced. There is a portion themed for the wild west of the USA. It was super fun to spend time in a park with a section themed for where our kids were born.
Michael V — Google review
The park was pretty good, lots to do. One thing that can be done better is to, my opinion, Ban smoking in the park. As there are lots of kids there smoking should be banned as an effort for kids and nonsmokers to have a better day while in the park. Some food stands need customer service training for sure, food safety is not practiced as it was noticed. But overall the park and the rides and the entertainment was pretty Good.
Richard M — Google review
Just the best. Wonderful time. Went during the week; no wait for any bring. Just perfect.
Greg M — Google review
This amusement park is ideal for a family with young children, my daughter is 3 years old, she was able to take part in all the attractions, except for two of which she has not yet reached the size. had. The park is well-kept and lovingly laid out, a bit old, a bit dusty, but definitely worth a visit for the whole family.
Tilman B — Google review
Great place for kids, I came with a 9 and a 11 year old they went in almost all the rides multiple times. The park is not so big but it has enough to spend a day of fun. Definitely recommend and will be back when possible.
