Ski resort "Dombai"

Ski & Snowboard Areas
Dombay is a wonderful destination for a family vacation. My son and I had a great time enjoying the picturesque mountain landscapes and various activities. We especially loved the cable car rides and sledding. Additionally, we took numerous photos with animals, which was a delightful addition to our trip. The fresh mountain air, combined with breathtaking views, made our experience even more enjoyable. For families with children, Dombay offers many interesting spots. We recommend visiting the Teberda Nature Reserve, where you can see a variety of animals and birds. It’s also worth visiting the Alibek Waterfall — the path to it is easy and suitable for children. In the village, there are several playgrounds and entertainment centers where your kids can have fun. Horseback riding is another great activity that allows you to explore the beautiful surroundings. You can also try snow tubing, which is an exciting and safe option for all ages. The locals are very hospitable and always ready to help. Cafes and restaurants offer delicious Caucasian cuisine that will appeal to both adults and children. We particularly enjoyed the freshly baked khachapuri, grilled meat, and aromatic herbal tea. The atmosphere in Dombay is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. If you’re planning a trip to this region, be sure to visit Dombay. This place will leave unforgettable impressions for the whole family. Whether you love adventure, nature, or simply want to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, Dombay has something special for everyone.
Evgeny K — Google review
Dombai offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a true winter wonderland experience. The slopes are great for intermediate skiers, and the surrounding nature is simply magical - perfect for both skiing and scenic walks. The infrastructure isn’t as modern as in Europe, but that’s part of its charm. Lifts can be a bit outdated and queues are common during peak season, but the incredible beauty of the place more than makes up for it.
Ihar B — Google review
It's really good place
Ahmed A — Google review
January 2021. Not a lot of snow to ski, but this is not due to the service. The old lift is simply awful, slow and non convenient, and mostly, dangerous. The new one is ok, but definitely over crowded. To rent the skies is not hard, full of small places, missing an organized big one. 3 stars are only for the mountains, which are very beautiful. The rest, I suggest: with the same money, you can fly to Italy or France or Austria.
Lorenzo E — Google review
One of my favourite place in Russia I visited is Dombay. Very attractive nature. I visited in Summer, it was so nice. I enjoyed rain, snowfall and sunlight at the same day. It was really amazing experience I had about Russian nature.

Kobuleti Beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Popular Black Sea beach featuring a long, thin strip of small pebbles & sand & seasonal services.
A very nice beach to go the beach is very clean and the crowd is also very nice though sometimes it is very crowded and also you can do water sports. A must place to go if you go to kobuleti.
Soumya D — Google review
Kobuleti Beach offers a stunning seaside experience with easy access to spots even during peak hours. The sunsets are truly breathtaking. ♥️ However, the beach is somewhat neglected. There are no recycling bins close to the beach, and facilities like changing cabins or public restrooms are missing. Additionally, motorboats and tourist boats often sail too close to the shore, disturbing those trying to relax. The boats also pollute the water and create an unpleasant smell due to their exhaust fumes. During the day, the odor of fuel can be overwhelming, and it’s surprising that this situation seems to be accepted as normal. I hope both the people and the local authorities will start to value and take better care of this beautiful place.
Tm 0 — Google review
Spoilt by motorboats and jetskis, what is a very beautiful beach stinks of fuel and is not safe for swimmers due to the watercraft coming too close and too fast. These need restricting to specifically permitted launching areas and there need to be clearly demarcated safe swimming zones.
Simon T — Google review
Pretty nice beach, but super rocky. There are quite a lot of restaurants around
Deimanciukas D — Google review
Quite clean water. Did not disappoint, it is not very crowded, at least not always. Very good sunset 👍
Mariam M — Google review
It is good and clean beach. There are lifeguards and they are ready to help. But be careful the beach is full of stones and they can hurt you!!!
Roham H — Google review
Beautiful view and nice atmosphere, but the beach is terrible.
Google review
Cleaner water than batumi beach. Good coast. There's changing booth and open shower. Washroom is nearby. There are some restaurants on the coast. A good relaxing spot.

If you are lucky to go there on a sunny day in January, it will give a vibe of Himalayan. The temperature is comparatively low in altitude. So dress up yourself properly. The cable car experience is excellent. To do ski you have to reach there before 10:00am.
Imtiaz T — Google review
Very cool ski resort, well organized with day and night ski!!!! Sleds open almost 24 7. The only downside is that the nightlife is very limited, to say the truth had no power to get out after full day of ski.
Alex P — Google review
Great place. A must visit if you are touring Russia. We were here in April. But March is better if you want to ski.
Ayesha M — Google review
Generally feels like they could have done better with the resort... Some runs are fantastic, not too long but fun. Most of the other slopes are long and narrow, which is less fun. Lifts are OK but the Russians should learn more about queue management. We had two times where we waited 20-25 minutes, other waits were long too. If the site is crowded then you feel it well on the slopes. The good :excellent site for beginners, the area between slopes is very nice for the powder seekers. Bottom line - not the same as the alps but a nice alternative nevertheless.
Dan W — Google review
very modern ski resort although it is not the French Alp it is very recommended for family and weekends. best compensation money value
Uri E — Google review
Nice ski resort, close to Adler, Sochi City, close to International Sochi airport, easily accessible with car, train or buses. Relatively not expensive. About 100 km of pistes.
Alexander O — Google review
this is a very beautiful and very welcoming place. in short this is the best ski town that i ever been in. Also there is a lot of different restaurants like italian, asian or just a steakhouse and so... the only minor problem was the lack of the english language, most of the russian there doesn't talk english

Best ski resort in Sochi for beginners and families. Had a great time here. Nice, wide slopes with beautiful views. Not too crowded because the slopes disperse away from the main area rather than to it. Great vibe with nice music and large, inviting central rental/information area. Helpful and friendly staff. Lots of places to sit and nice variety of cafes and restaurants.
Dennis R — Google review
Very nice for beginners! Slopes are quite wide and not too flat to get bored, the view is beautiful. However, if you are advanced, it will definitely feel too easy here. I personally just loved the night-skiing - you can ski until 11pm! Slopes are nicely lightened and everything looks so atmospheric 💫 Organization is still to be somewhat improved - queues in front of the lifts are usual thing and can take quite long!
Marius S — Google review
Loved it! Great service, not crowded, all sorts of activities available. I believe it's the only place in this resort to practice cross-country skiing!
Olga S — Google review
Super complex. We went ice-skating (great) in Galactica followed by swimming in the Aquapark (the outdoor pool in the snow is something else). We then finished the day with night skiing under lights. Nice, easy and wide slopes, (D1 was a nice blue for novices) plus some more challenging pistes for the more advanced. Thank you, we had a great time!
Wekom — Google review
Nice for beginners and medium level riders
Liene Г — Google review
Really cool. Lots of things to do with kids
Erna R — Google review
Just horrible to say the least. The lowest lever of service remained the same from "soviet era", you are supposed to be guilty for clumsy skiing maneuvres however there is NO snow coverage in Gazprom ski resort. Rude comments from the staff, some disrepectful remarks - those are the memories I'm gonna bring from this trip. Rip-off in terms of prices: 2000 RUB -ski pass for 1 day, 500 RUB parking fee ( for 1 hour), 200 RUB 1 hour for the storage of the staff in a locker, very high prices in restorants, 9000 RUB for 2 adults - 2 hour training with an instructor. That's not even worth it, there is no snow by 5th of January

A heaven on earth 🌎, we took mini busses from Artvin, and we went for like an hour on the mountains. Up there many people are camping and there is a cafe and restaurant where you can buy whatever you need, it's a little bit expensive from the normal prices but not that much. Had a very good time. It's a great place for families with children. For anyone who is interested on the prices, the safari park costed 450 rubles per person. Honestly they didn't have a lot of animals but the whole experience was nice and fun

Oleg U — Google review
DISGUSTING!! Animal cruelty...this place is just sick. The orangatangs especially...locked into tiny tiny places that are so hot, glass is fogging. It smells...animals are left sitting in their own waste and it is clear to see how hungry so many of them are. Sick, disgusting hell hole. Shut this down!

Very good place for family and children to enjoy watching the different kinds of animals....the only disadvantage that the ticket price was about the double price of rostovsky zoopark although the last one is bigger and have more diverse kinds of animals.

We were here 7 years ago and today we came back here with our children. My daughter studied the history of the Russian Empire at the English school and when we arrived in Batumi we went to show her Gonio. This is a unique place that everyone should visit. The territory is not big, but it has so much history. There is a very beautiful museum on the premises that can describe the history in detail. Here you can buy souvenirs, take a walk and there is a toilet. This year we also saw roses blooming - here is our own alley of different roses. There is a separate house in which clothes and tools of those times are presented. Admission is free for locals and 10 GEL for guests.

Gonio Fortress is a lovely historical site worth visiting for anyone interested in history and ancient architecture. The fortress offers a glimpse into the past with its well-preserved ruins and small onsite museum displaying historical artifacts. It’s a pleasant place to walk through and explore. The staff at the entrance were friendly and welcoming, and the facilities, including the restrooms, were clean and well-maintained.

The fortress in Gonio is probably not the most famous in the world, but it is very well preserved and visited. Just think, it is already two thousand years old! A ticket costs only 10 GEL. You can walk right along the preserved walls of the fortress. There is an archaeological museum, a souvenir shop, and the tomb of one of Christ's apostles, Matthias, on the grounds.

Gonio Fortress is a cool ancient spot near Batumi with sturdy stone walls and pretty green areas. The statues and ruins, plus the possible Saint Matthias tomb, make it historically fun. I enjoyed the peaceful vibe and exploring!

Gonio Fortress is a fascinating historical site full of stories and charm. The ancient walls, towers, and peaceful garden inside make it a great place to walk around and imagine life centuries ago. The site is well-kept and surrounded by beautiful nature, with views of the mountains and the sea nearby. A must-visit if you’re in Batumi and love history or quiet, atmospheric places!
Rima B — Google review
Gonio, previously called Apsarus or Apsaros, is a Roman fortification 15 km south of Batumi, at the mouth of the Chorokhi river. Its name was connected with the myth of Medea and her brother Absyrtus. In the 2nd century AD it was a well-fortified Roman city within Colchis. The town was also known for its theatre and hippodrome. It later came under Byzantine influence. In addition, there was a short-lived Genoese trade factory at the site. In 1547, Gonio was taken by the Ottoman Empire, who held it until 1878, when, via the San-Stefano Treaty, Adjara became part of the Russian Empire. The grave of Saint Matthias, one of the twelve apostles, is believed to be inside the Gonio fortress. The location of the fortress, surrounded by lash green mountains, is amazingly beautiful and very picturesque.

Stadion Fisht

Fun & Games
Open-air stadium with 40,000 capacity, now used for training & matches for national soccer team.
Very nice stadium. The Football World Cup games are played here. Watching football match on TV (Spain Vs Portugal). Ground looks so go and spacious. What I read on their website is that It has approx 45,000 capacity. Also, read somewhere in some websites- First Olympic Stadium, Sochi’s biggest new sporting venue designed by sports architecture firm Populous. The building, named after a nearby mountain, features a latticed facade design based on faberge eggs and has a retractable roof. Yesterday quarter final match between Russia and Croatia was played and Croatia won by 4-3 after the match went to penalty shoot out.

Sochi's arboretum is a lush garden with over 1500 species of trees and shrubs, including various palm species. The cable car to the arboretum offers stunning views and an impressive feat of architecture and engineering. While some visitors find the experience ambivalent, others appreciate the ease of getting tickets and helpful customer service. The ride provides a scenic journey to the top of the park, where additional fees apply for walking back down.
My experience was just fine. It was easy to get a ticket (300p) and they helped explain I was only buying a one-way ticket to the top of the park. I appreciate those who will repeat themselves slowly in Russian so I have better chance catching a couple words. Good customer service! Once I made it to the top I found out I had to pay to walk back down (250p). No big deal on the price. It was well worth it.

(Translated by Google) Arriving in Sochi, we decided to visit this place, based on reviews I read that it was better to go up the cable car, and then calmly go down and inspect everything. We found the cable car is not immediately located at the intersection behind the kiosks. We arrived early and had to wait, then, having bought tickets, we stomped upstairs and waited for our turn. Everything in the booth creaks terribly, there are many people and the height. During the climb it becomes stuffy, the cost is not cheap, one thing pleases is the gorgeous view from above.
Katy V — Google review
(Translated by Google) In theory, both the park and the cable car there are absolutely wonderful. They are no less beautiful in architecture, engineering and landscape design... Any engineer or architect can envy the author of the cable car stations with a pure soul. But all this was done quite a long time ago. And now both the ski lift and the park leave an ambivalent impression. When compared with others, the existing cable car differs favorably in that it continues to operate. But if the technical condition (at first glance, at least) is rather pleasing, then, for example, for years, it seems that unwashed glass in the cabins cannot please. The very meaning is lost - an overview of the city and the park from magnificent angles. At the top station, not all (paid, by the way) observation devices are working. Well, it would be nice if the information about the lift’s operating hours in Yandex was correct for these particular seasons and days. The park itself does not leave the feeling of being completely well-groomed. Some trees need treatment or pruning, some already require immediate replacement, otherwise only signs indicating the species will remain. With small vegetation the picture is approximately the same. But what opportunities there are in combining such a landscape with a subtropical climate! Plus there is a long history of cultivating exotic varieties in this place. And so it seems that the entertainment function of the park has finally won over the educational function. And the ridiculous retro-style stalls at the most overlooking points generally destroy the harmony intended by the creators. And the condition of many paths is far from not only ideal, but even from the norm. And if this is not important for a healthy adult or teenager, then for old people and parents with children, part of the park is not very accessible. And this is for quite decent money. The small cafe and the adjacent toilet pavilion do not fit into the canon of all styles at once. I didn’t have time to get acquainted with the kitchen; prices are average. Eh, with such a view and location, both I and another architect would work... One can only hope that someday the master’s hands will get around to all this, in a good way.

This natural wonder cascades nearly 100 meters and is particularly spectacular during the spring months when water flow peaks. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi while soaking in panoramic views from the terrace or wandering through lush gardens.
The pictures don't do the waterfall credit really. It is a wonderful waterfall and a must see if you are in the area. The road is a bit tricky and can be daunting at times especially when there is another car returning back. We went in May so there was plenty of parking space available. You have to cross a foot bridge to get to the other side of the river. Then it's a long climb into the mountains. It's not easy and you have to be fit, definitely not for the elderly and kids may complain, but it' all worth it when you arrive at the waterfall. What a fantastic view.

Two bedrooms and a toilet/shower with balcony to enjoy drinks watching the river and the waterfall. We walked up to the top of the mountain where there is a small teashop ,totally worth the climb to enjoy the amazing views. There is a car park outside the hotel, owners were available 24/7 very friendly and helpful local people, beds were comfy, rooms sparkling clean, shower with hot and cold water , nearby vadi restaurant served homemade fresh local food. Overall this was such a great experience worth coming back for sure. If you love nature and want a peaceful retreat, look no further.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls of Turkey with a dropping height of almost 100 meters. Water volume is at its peak during April, May although it is remarkable even in dry summer. Could reach after a walk of about 750 meters from where you park your vehicle at Kamilet Valley. Don't forget to have a bath in its small pool just under the falls and enjoy the real piping blodred Blacksea tea before and after your climb to Mençuna. Must see place if you are in the region. Don't miss it...

The place is understaffed. No electricity in the morning therefore no internet and no warm water. The host is rude. The room they gave us was a small cabin next to kitchen which was loud all night and so small that toilet is 1 meter away from bed. Best would be to stay in arahvi and visit the area as a day trip. This place is not worth the money.

If you want virgin nature so you can stay here . Everything is good except the road but this nature needs that. I hope there will be no human work around here. Workers are friendly. Everything is great.

One of the best water falls in Turkey. You can swim but it's a long walk up there and driving is a bit stressful.

Park Kul'tury I Otdykha is an amusement park that boasts a wide array of attractions, including a penguin enclosure and dolphin shows. In addition, visitors can enjoy various rides, such as a Ferris wheel. However, it lacks ample green spaces and relaxation zones. Despite this drawback, the park provides great entertainment and serves as a pleasant hangout spot. It offers numerous enjoyable activities for individuals seeking fun and excitement in a vibrant environment.

(Translated by Google) Overall a good park, prices so-so. Minus two stars for the incident on the roller coaster: the service is terrible, you can't leave your things anywhere, the controller is rude and we found out that the car looks as old as you can imagine. Mom sat in the back, came back with bruises on her legs and arms. Not a great impression. The other rides are just awesome!!!

It is located on a large area, but you will not find abandoned areas, every piece of land is occupied, everything is used, there is LIFE everywhere! Prices are not cheap. One of the best beaches on the russian coast of the Black Sea. Wild and 100% natural beach with small stones - rubber shoes or Crocs recommended. The only problem is no toilette there. Also due to the specific no car entry (20 - 30 min walk from parking) there is MUCH MUCH less people then on the city beaches!! Very romantic place!

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful rock and places nearby. They are part of a state-protected natural area where flora and fauna listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation can be found. Yellow herons fish on the coastal rocks, there are many beautiful fish and crabs, lizards and snakes everywhere. The water is crystal clear. Picnics with fires are not recommended here. There are two descents to the rock - one is gentle, the second is steeper (you can go down holding on to the rope). It is easy to get there both on foot and by car. Entrance is free) TAKE CARE OF NATURE! 💚🌿

(Translated by Google) I really enjoyed the walk. I walked from Tuapse (starting from the “wild” beach along the path). The rocks are majestic. Everything is trampled by tourists, and from above there is a stunning view of the sea. I was lucky that there weren't very many people. I can’t imagine what’s going on there in the middle of summer. (Translated by Google) In my opinion, the most beautiful place in the Tuapse region. And the most recognizable thanks to the film “The Diamond Arm” (fishing on the White Rock). Natural monument. We usually leave the car near the road, although you can drive to the tourist parking lot, but the road there is not very good. In summer they charge an entry fee. The walk to the parking lot is about five to ten minutes, so it’s a pleasure to walk and get some air. Then you can climb to the very top of the cliff, from there there are beautiful views. Returning to the tourist parking lot, you can go downhill both to the left and to the right (towards the mouse holes). The descent is difficult, but in summer we go down normally in flip-flops (a matter of habit). The beach, to be honest, is not very good. Large pebbles, inconvenient entry into the sea, algae. But it is interesting to snorkel. The rock, unfortunately, is slowly being destroyed. The place itself is cool, but due to the large number of people visiting it, who are not always conscious, there is a lot of garbage.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful and picturesque place. A scene from the famous film “The Diamond Arm” was filmed here, and it was from this place that the painting “Kadosh Rocks” by artist A.A. Kiselev was painted. Getting here on foot is not easy, I’ll say this right away (by the way, a boat with boat trips from Tuapse regularly sails here). But I really love extreme sports, so I chose this path. We took minibus 18, which runs from Tuapse approximately once every 1-2 hours. Upon arrival, we passed an apiary where you can buy honey, then a long walk awaits you down through the mountain forest, around pine trees, a lot of blackberries, the smell is cool. At the end of the road there will be a huge surprise - a descent to a cliff. This is something... 🤣😛pieces of rock sticking out of the ground, tree roots, very steep cliffs, mountain springs💦, you will like it 😁... In addition to this attraction there will also be a wooden shaky staircase that is threatening to break if a lot of people will be attracted to her at once. But at the end of this walk you will be greeted by a very beautiful and large beach with pebbles, crystal clear water with fish, a view of the most beautiful rock, here you can even buy something to eat and change clothes, the only thing I would add is a toilet.

I held his hand the whole time. Rocks are like steps, lots of roots that are convenient to hold on to when going down. In general, people go there without a break. In general, it is quite passable. There is even a SUP rental on the beach near the rock. There are many cars with tents on the cape. We went there by taxi from Nebug. From the place where a taxi can get to the descent to the rock, there is about a kilometer of walking along a wide forest road. The same taxi driver came back for us when we called. Beautiful nature, the place where the fishing scene in the well-known film was filmed. When you get tired of lying on the beach, it's time to go to Kiseleva Rock. Bodies of Water
Uzungöl is a stunning lake nestled in a mountain valley, featuring a charming village with hotels and shops. It's easily accessible from Trabzon, taking around 2.5 hours by car. While it's not recommended to visit during winter due to accessibility issues and many closed shops, the summer offers breathtaking views and pleasant weather. Visitors suggest booking accommodations in advance and bringing supplies from outside the area as things can be expensive with limited services.
It’s a beautiful place, but only for a short visit. I don’t recommend eating in the area—the quality is poor and the prices are extremely high. It’s worth visiting just for the experience; it feels like being in an Arab country.
Mariya — Google review
Uzungol lake is very pretty, surrounded by many halal restaurants and hotels to stay in. You even go glamping around, do some hikes in the area or take a long drive around. There are many picnic places on the way so you can stop on your way and enjoy a little picnic
Shiza S — Google review
Uzungöl is a priceless natural wonder located in the heart of the Black Sea region, about 100 km away from Trabzon, in the district of Çaykara. Nestled in a valley where you can see every shade of green, surrounded by high mountains, the lake looks like a painting. On misty mornings, a light fog drifts over the lake, and as the day breaks it transforms into pure tranquility — truly the capital of peace and serenity. The lake is surrounded by lush forests, and the walking paths around it are both easy and scenic, perfect for nature lovers. The little wooden houses, local restaurants, and shops create a warm, village-like atmosphere within this natural setting. In short, it’s an ideal spot to escape the city and breathe fresh air. However, like a shadow over its beauty, there’s also the issue of “concrete development.” In 2008, a concrete wall was built along the shore, which some environmentalists criticize as a disruption of its natural charm. This has also contributed to the problem of “overtourism.” New buildings and touristic facilities risk damaging the organic character of the place, and unfortunately, this can affect the visitor experience. Still, despite these small criticisms, what makes Uzungöl special is the authentic experience it offers with its nature, silence, and local character. In summer, it’s ideal for picnics and walks; in winter, covered in snow, it turns into a magical landscape. Nearby, you can also visit Sultan Murad Plateau, Ataköy Waterfall, and Demirkapı Plateau, which add even more richness to your trip. In conclusion, Uzungöl is impressive both in photographs and in real life. It’s a place where you can connect with the peaceful face of nature and lose yourself in its pure beauty. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. But it’s also important that we all take responsibility, even in small ways, to protect the sustainability of this unique area.
Maksut C — Google review
Uzungöl Lake is absolutely stunning — surrounded by lush green mountains with mist often drifting over the water, creating a magical atmosphere. Perfect for photos, peaceful walks, and relaxing in nature. Cafés and small restaurants around add charm, but it can get crowded during peak season. A must-visit in Trabzon!
Amr W — Google review
Uzungöl is one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in Turkey. The lake surrounded by high mountains and green forests feels like a completely different world. The air is fresh, the nature is peaceful, and the scenery is simply breathtaking. In the early morning, the mist over the lake creates a magical atmosphere that’s hard to describe in words. There are many nice walking paths, photo spots, and cozy places to enjoy traditional tea by the lake. There are plenty of restaurants around and the prices are reasonable. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway, a family trip, or even solo travel. If you’re in Trabzon or anywhere in the Black Sea region, Uzungöl is definitely a place you must visit! 🌿✨

08/08/2025 This place is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in my whole life. I went there in August and the weather was perfect. Make sure to wear something warm. Ask your driver to take you to the waterfall on your way there. When you get to the lake you can rent a bike for 10 lira/hour, or you can ride a boat for approximately 50 lira/20 minuets, and there is the parachute too, but it's expensive if you're with a big group (500 lira per person). I highly recommend going there especially if you're with your friends and have no babies.

Sümela Monastery

Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Sümela Monastery, located to the east of Trabzon, is a historic site with a museum showcasing religious history dating back to the 4th century A.D. The monastery, situated high up in the mountains, offers breathtaking views and a unique landscape. While entrance fees for foreigners have been criticized as being unreasonably high, the site's well-preserved frescos, old library rooms, and prayer rooms make it a must-visit attraction.
Finally got the chance to visit this stunning historical place. The place attracts so many tourists so get ready for a really busy area. You cannot enter with your car, but only with the shuttle managed by the site itself. The ticket price is 70 Turkish lira per person. Once you reach there you have to get ready for a long stairs to reach the ticket office. Definitely I will not recommend it for elder people or people with low fitness and children under eight years. It is located in the mountain with an elevation of more than 1000 m. Breathtaking views during the journey to the monastery. Classified as one of the most important historic venues in Trabzon.

I highly recommend visiting Sümela Monastery — it’s one of the most impressive historical places in the Black Sea region. The entrance ticket to the monastery itself is 20€, and it’s absolutely worth it. There is a long staircase to reach the top, so be prepared for some climbing, but once you arrive, the view is breathtaking. The monastery is built inside a cliff, and the atmosphere is magical — you can take amazing photos of the nature, the fog, and the mountains surrounding the site. If you love history, architecture, and dramatic landscapes, this place is a must-see. Totally worth the effort and the time! 🌿

Amazing place so glad to finally make it here! The weather wasn't good but it thinned out the crowds which we appreciated. Unbelievable story and impressive building skills in such a remote place. The surrounding Park is beautiful as well. The only negative impression is pay to park then pay to use the restroom then pay to enter the monastery. 1 price please.
Robert Q — Google review
Remarkable achievement—best appreciated from multiple viewpoints Sumela Monastery is genuinely impressive, particularly when you consider the engineering feat of building such comprehensive quarters into a cliff face centuries ago. The scale and ambition of the construction is what really stands out. What Makes It Special: - The real beauty is in viewing it from a distance—seeing the whole structure clinging to the mountainside puts the achievement in perspective - Inside, peer out from the windows in the quarters—the views and sense of exposure are striking - Don't skip the detour to Aya Varvara Kilisesi nearby—it offers an awesome distant view of the monastery and is just 70m at the entrance Practical Tips: - Lots of stairs and uneven surfaces—watch your footing and take it slow - The site itself requires careful navigation; not a place to rush through - The combination of close-up exploration and distant viewpoints gives you the full picture Why 5 Stars: Understanding what it took to build and maintain this place centuries ago, in this location, makes the visit worthwhile. The engineering and logistics alone are mind-boggling. See it from afar, explore it up close, then step back again—that's when it clicks. Well worth the trip to the Trabzon.
Jun S — Google review
Beautiful monastery, built in 4th century. No amount of words can explain the beauty of the location and the detailed workmanship that went into building this place. The walk to monastery is short but steep, however the views along the way are worth the effort. It's definitely a great place to visit. It does get crowded pretty quickly as large groups visit it
Haaris A — Google review
That experience was a life time experience. I had seen photos before, but it was a hidden gem. When you climb all the stairs to see a monks city, very well preserved was very exciting. Highly recommended experience. My favorite part was to see the church, but very sad to see the murals were destroyed by the first visitors. Seeing all the priest rooms, the kitchen, the library made me to understand the life style of the monks that lived there for many years. The monastery is placed in an amazing nature that takes your breath away.

Magic place in the mountains! As we climbed up the mystic music was echoing from hill to hill. I am posting some photos. The monastery has a special energy and well preserved history of the early Christianity. At the bottom – Altun River (The golden River, which still has some gold.) One of the most mysterious places I have visited! Go see the magic!

Jason Church Situated on the jason Cape Peninsula, the church has been built in 1869 by Greeks habitants of the area. Lt is a first degree archeological and second degree SIT site. Having a small dome of three apses, light and dark stones have been used on its front. On the interior, the church has been divided into thres naves with two rows of pillars. There are two entrances, one on the South and the other on the west. With renovation efforts started by our governor Kemal Yazıcıoğlu in April 2004, the church has enriched tourism of our city.

Flat grassy point of land surrounded by an unusual flat shelf of rock just below the surface of the water. The old church is pretty, but closed. There are some ruins but no signs to indicate what they were. There are tables and benches. It’s a nice place to come for a picnic.

A must see when in the city of Ordu or near! For me it was a natural wonder, being in the middle of the sea but at the same time on land! Very well maintained, very clean, public picnic tables & seating are available in the place, in addition to sun bathing seats! I recommend having your swimming suits with you when you visit the place as the water will invite you to take a jump! Unfortunately I didn't see a place to change your clothes afterwards but a public bathroom is near the place.

Must visit legendary place! It's a small cape with an old Greek church (closed) and a lighthouse. Full flat so no climbing. There are banks to sit and rest. You're gonna leave your car at the entrance and walk along the cape. You can arrange it like 20 min short overview visit or stay there for some longer time to rest or picnic. No recommended for swimming. Infrastructure like visitors centre, cafe and toilets was still under construction during our visit.

I am quoting from the Bandirma museum: "The Bandirma boat which a fulfilled a very significant role on the the way to independent Turkish republic, has taken its unique place in the history by taking Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, as the 9th army inspector, and his eighteen friends to Samsun. The Bandirma boat was built as a passenger and cargo ship in 1878 in Scotland under the name of "Torocaderto" and wad operated for five years by a company. The Bandirma boat was used as a cargo vessel under the name of " Panderma" registered in Ottoman maritime administration ( idare-i Mahusa), bu a greek shipowner from 1893- 1910. A must see place for all Turkish citizens and foreign visitors to understand the basics of the Turkish war of independence that started in 1919. You can see the unique documents on British Invasion of Turkey and Mustafa Kemal's will to resist.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but good replica boat, great exhibition inside inc some original possessions from Ataturk. Only issue text mainly in Turkish so maybe tricky for tourists.

Nice museum and very educational. Non-Turks should take a translator app to get the most out of the experience.

Terrible rules of the shopping mall. They put a bicycle stand to a place where there is no place to sit next to it. Me and my friend are bike packers therefore have all our belongings hanging on a bicycle. While one was shopping the other one had to stand half an hour at the sun without an ability to sit anywhere in a shade. The security guy didn’t let us to put our bicycles anywhere closer to the shop despite there were plenty of motorcycles standing next to the benches. Terrible experience ! They have water bowls for the dogs but treat people terribly! How nice!

Almost the biggest shopping mall in Samsun city - Turkey, with the availability of most brands in. The upper level is mostly food court in addition to some toys brands there. The remaining levels contain different clothes, kitchen, furniture and etc. brands. You'll find what you need surely. The prices are acceptable specially if you visit it during discount seasons. Like other shopping malls, it has a very huge car parking space.

Big mall and contains many coffee shops and restaurants. Good that they specialized in an outdoor setting area, where you are able to drink your coffee with beautiful views of the sea and city.

Visitors can embark on a riverside hiking trail to explore the falls, with the option of hiring a tour guide for an informative experience. Great place to visit If you are looking for a natural beauty. It is 40 km from Sinop. The entrance is 27 tl for cars. There are 28 waterfalls, big and small ones. There are cafeterias and resting areas as well. Climbing up the waterfalls are easy mostly. Just the first part is made of rock stairs and it is hard.but if you go up tye second level it will be easier climbing on wooden stairs. You can also follow the route inside the river if you are very careful. Because there are slippery rocks.

"Erfelek Waterfalls – where nature meets nostalgia. Climbed these wild cascades years ago, and today they still steal my breath. And the local flavors? Homemade mantı and gözleme… simply unforgettable!" #ErfelekFalls #SinopNature #TurkishFoodLove #WaterfallsAndTradition

Beautiful waterfalls but need a lot of investment and are a bit lacking in cleanliness unfortunately I urge people there to clean the waterfall lake from algae and unwanted wood
Saba S — Google review
Despite some construction underway on a new bridge at the entrance, the park is beautiful and well laid-out. There are several quaint little cafes too, but they suit the natural setting well. The steps up to the first several falls are well maintained and fairly easy for a reasonably fit adult to climb, but we didn’t have time to get to all the falls. Definitely worth spending a couple hours here to get to the top.
