Visited The Meizhou Island with my family members during the June holiday, the experience i can say that it was a wonderful experience for me. Lots of things have change throughout the years. The roadside used to be filled with rubbish that is being discard by the residents and tourists, but now its clean and give me a feel of being comfortable. And for the beach it used to be a very very empty beach, but now there is activities for people to do. The place always give me this feeling that i simply can't explain with words, and this feeling always makes me want to come back to this superb island. Although things might be a little bit pricey on the island but everything is worth for that money you spend. If you are going there don't miss out the mazu blessed cake. Going to the Meizhou Island gave me a lesson on their culture knowledge and and really thankful that this place existed.

Kaiyuan Temple

Kaiyuan Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple complex from the Tang dynasty, featuring twin stone pagodas and preserved scriptures. It is one of the top attractions in Quanzhou, along with other historical sites like East and West pagodas, Confucius Temple, Queen of Heaven Palace, Luoyang Bridge, and Anping Bridge. The city also boasts numerous museums showcasing various aspects of history and culture.
Entrance is set on a busy street. At the time of my visit in January 2025, there was no tickets required, or any additional fee once you enter the grounds. Try to do some research before arriving, or you will miss out on a lot. Surrounding the temple, there are several food streets that are very unique to visit. If you're a vegetarian, you will struggle. During the busy season, be patient as there will be a lot of people here. Couple of interesting coffee shops around if you're able to find it. Allow about 3 hours for your visit, if not longer.

Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple, China was built in year 685 during Tang Dynasty, with a history of over 1300 years. Prominent landmarks and must-visit are the 2 pagodas, Renshou and Zhenguo Pagodas.
Wilson C — Google review
Kaiyuan Temple (开元寺), the largest Buddhist temple complex in Fujian Province, built in 686 AD in Tang Dynasty is about 1,400 years old. Blending diverse cultures and architectural styles, it's a vital witness to Quanzhou's status as the "Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China". Do check out the huge, centuries old banyan trees flanking the courtyard. The East and West Stone Pagodas within the temple grounds, respectively Zhenguo 镇国塔and Renshou仁寿, are the tallest pair of stone towers in China. Zhenguo pagoda in particular, inspired the filming location of the mega hit game Black Myth: Wukong.

This is a special buddhist temple embodying a family shrine in QuanZhou, Fujian province. One will be better off taking a 1-day trip to QuanZhou via a local travel agent, who will bundle places of interest nearby, including a decent lunch.
DENNIS T — Google review
The Kaiyuan Temple (开元寺) is a renowned Buddhist temple located in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China. It is one of the oldest and most significant Buddhist temples in the region, with a rich history dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD). The temple is also famous for being one of the largest and most well-preserved Buddhist complexes in China. There are Hindu caving and pillars in the temple architecture. The Temple is home to an intriguing historical artifact—a Song Dynasty ship, which is preserved on the temple premises. This ship is not only a remarkable find in itself but also a significant representation of the maritime history of Quanzhou during the Song Dynasty.

Jiuquxi is a popular tourist attraction where visitors can enjoy a peaceful ride on bamboo rafts along a tranquil river that winds through towering cliffs covered in lush forests. Experienced guides expertly navigate the rafts, providing tourists with an unforgettable experience that showcases the natural beauty of this picturesque location in China. With scenic views at every turn, Jiuquxi offers a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and connect with nature.
Jiuquxi means river bending nine times. We did bamboo boat rifting, totally about 1.5 hours. Along the river, you see different shapes of mountains. Winter time could be cold and windy, bring warm jacket. The water is pretty stable, no worries about vertigo. Worth the trip.
Susan D — Google review
This Jiuquxi bamboo raft drift is a must try when you are in Wuyishan. If you understand Mandarin and give some tips to the rafters, they can sing -talk funny and cynical folklore. To me, the cultural experience was much better than my Venetian Gondola experience in Venice in Italy or in the Venetian Hotel in Macao!

There is a winding Jiuqu River at the foot of Wuyi Mountain. It is known as the beautiful scenery of nine winding streams winding around green peaks. The best way to travel is to take a bamboo raft and go down the river from Jiuqu to Yiqu. It is safe and fun, and you can enjoy the scenery of the river and mountains. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. The scenery on both sides of Jiuqu River is endless, with different scenery at every turn. It is known as the most beautiful stream in China. Along the way, you will pass Tianwang Peak, Yunu Peak, Yuzhu Peak, and Yingzui Rock. Just like Japan's Jiubi River, the boatman will sing a song from time to time. Bayi Square

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Bayi Square, the second-largest square in China, covers an impressive 78,000 square meters and is a significant landmark in Nanchang. Constructed between 1977 and 1979, it features stunning fountains, sculptures, and a pedestrian shopping street that make it a popular destination for shopping and entertainment. The square holds historical significance as it commemorates the founding of the People's Liberation Army on August 1st.
most iconic tourist site of Nanchang, a square named "bayi", which means "August 1st", the day when PLA was founded Nanchang was a important city in modern china history and ccp history, from here the Bayi Revolution led by Zhou Enlai and He Long, signals the official start (according to historians and ccp researchers) of militarised confrontation between ccp and kmt there is a momument on the squere, with relief on its four sides of the basement, including several important revolutions in china history, showing the rolling of history never ends transport is fairly convenient there is metro station right at one corner of the squere, but do take note it is hard to find a pedestrian crossing here, so usually it is recommended to come here by metro
Weizhi T — Google review
The square wasn't super filled with much when I passed through, and honestly the pillar is kind of ugly. It's a little too jagged and brutalist to make a good welcoming city square. There is however a lot to do in the surrounding area near the square.
Daniel L — Google review
Bayi Square (八一廣場) is one of Nanchang’s most iconic landmarks and a major tourist attraction… At its center stands the Bayi Memorial Tower, which is topped with a symbolic rifle and the flag of the August 1st Army, serving as a powerful tribute to China's revolutionary history! Locals proudly claim it as the second-largest public square in China, surpassed only by Tiananmen Square in Beijing… Its deep historical significance makes it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the city 😁 Bayi Square is impressively well-maintained and very clean… while some older (5-years ago) reviews mentioned the presence of beggars, that is no longer the case - as the Government has done a lot to lift its people out of poverty..
G — Google review
The best service I have ever had for hot pot, the waitress stayed around and checked if you have any need. Also gave some suggestions for the best way to cook the foods and very polite to every customers, they walked me to the elevator when I left, much way better than other branch I had in Shenzhen.

Pavilion of Prince Teng

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Pavilion of Prince Teng, a 9-story structure originally built in 653 AD by Li Yuanying, is a renowned cultural site in Nanchang City. Rebuilt over two dozen times, it has historical significance dating back to the Tang Dynasty. The famous poem 'Tengwang Ge Xuji' by Wang Bo further adds to its prestige.
The Tengwang Pavilion stands as a majestic testament to ancient Chinese architecture and artistry. Its intricate design, with layers of gracefully curved eaves and vibrant colors, immediately captivates the eye. The pavilion's history is as rich as its appearance, steeped in tales of emperors, poets, and scholars. Ascending to the top floor is an experience in itself. The panoramic view is breathtaking, offering a stunning vista of the Gan River and the surrounding cityscape. The atmosphere is refreshingly invigorating, with a gentle breeze that carries the scent of the river and the whispers of history. Visiting the Tengwang Pavilion is like stepping back in time, a chance to appreciate the beauty of a bygone era while enjoying the tranquility of the present. It's a must-see for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and heritage. ✨Credits to a wonderful Chinese friend of mine✨
Lotus T — Google review
The pavilion was built in 2002. You can tell it’s really a modern building rather than a historical one. Overall experience was just so so because the building was small. You can just take the elevator to the 6/F and walk down from the top floor. The view from the top floor was just okay, not really magnificent nor stunning. I think the entrance fee was overpriced for it. The most annoying thing is that there was a music band playing pop and modern music very loudly on the ground floor of the pavilion. You can here the music and busking even on the top floor! This was very unmatch with the environment.
Blah — Google review
One of 4 Great Towers of China. Especially beautiful around sunset apparently but unfortunately it was a little hazy/gloomy when I was there. Built by 滕王 but in the pavilion, there's a lot more about 王勃, the poet that wrote 滕王阁序 (one can get free entry if you can recite the full script). Entrance fee: ¥50, Audio Guide: ¥30 (for within the pavilion). 5 levels inside the pavilion. Lifts available for the elderly and physically challenged & everyone else climbs. But no big deal, it's an easy climb. Level 2 - 人杰图, a full painting of talents born here, such as 欧阳修; you may not know his name but you'll surely have heard before the phrase 醉翁之意不在酒, and that was his. Level 3 - 宴客厅, what used to be a hall for hosting. At this level, one can also access an outdoor viewing deck. Level 4 - 地灵图, a painting of 7 famous mountains in Jiangxi including 三清山 - 天下第一仙山 and 庐山. Level 5 - 寿图,百福屏 and again an outdoor viewing deck. There's also a mezzanine level from here with 2 wall murals made of 唐三彩 ceramic tiles. Then it's all the way back down to the exit at the basement.
Daphne Y — Google review
As documented, Tengwang Pavilion or Pavilion of Prince Teng is one of the 3 great towers of southern China. From the vast complex area, the Pavilion looks like a 3-storey building with a corridor. However as you proceed towards the building , it is on a pedestal which resembles an ancient wall. It is a 9 storeys building, floor by floor are several display of paintings, ancient costumes, porcelains and murals & portraits of 80 outstanding figures & scholars in Jiangxi from the Qin to Ming & Tang Dynasty on the walls and a 28mx1.52m Bluestone Brick Carving picture of Flourishing Jiangxi in Ming Dynasty. As Prince Teng , was good at painting, he likes to paint butterflies , there is a a Picture of A 100 of butterflies & flowers (Polished Lacquer Painting) 5.4x2.0m Picture on wall displayed with some antiques tables and chairs. A special mention on wall was written for Architect Mr Liang Sicheng on his remarkable contributions to the re-design on its main structure of Rebuilding in 1942. Strolling along the corridors, the panoramic view of the city and bridges across Gan River is especially magnificient. Several poets who have all witnessed the view standing upon Tengwang Pavilion left behind beautiful verses for later generations. Especially the poems handwritten by Su Shi (Su DongPo) carved onto copper plates, are prominently displayed on wall with his statue standing infront inside the hall. Alot of stairs to climb , do requires more time to browse through all displays, but needless to say the stunning views and its unique architecture are worth the effort!!

Genuinely stunning, better at night when the pavilion and its surroundings light up But at any time, its steeped in history and is simply a marvel to behold

Amazing place to visit at Nanchang. The view is just absolutely stunning! Try not to go during hot weather, else you will experience sauna inside 🤭
James H — Google review
Even though reconstructed it is worth visiting. Sail by at night and it is beautifully lighted. Come in the day and tour the 7 storey pavilion. Each level tells a different part of the history and story of the pavilion, its occupants and buildings. If you like Chinese poetry and history this is the place for you. It got famous because of a poem written by a travelling poet whilst attending a banquet at this pavilion. Supposedly he composed it in one sitting of the banquet. Hire a personal guide from the place or use Google translate for the plaques on the wall. Note lifts don’t work well so expects lots of staircase climbing. English translation of famous poem attached

The 南昌之星 is a massive ferris wheel towering at approximately 160 meters with 60 air-conditioned gondolas providing riders with a half-hour scenic experience. Though moderate queues may be expected, the ride is worth taking as there are not many other attractions in Nanchang. The attraction offers stunning views especially during nighttime, but the admission fee can be quite costly.
When it was built it was the world's biggest ferris wheel. at night the views are spectactular, for the most epic picture, make sure you go across the road to MiXC mall, and take the escalator from basement floor up, you'll rise up to the ferris wheel into view, spectacular.

Five-Old-Man Peak

Nature & Parks
Mountains
Five-Old-Man Peak, one of the cherished landmarks in Lushan, boasts five magnificent peaks that can be reached by trekking from any starting point. As a child, I was introduced to this enchanting place through depictions in Saint Seiya, where Wu Laofeng and the iconic waterfall of Lushan left an indelible mark on my memory.
Nice view on the top

(Translated by Google) One of the many classics in Lushan Mountain, there are five peaks in total. You can climb along the path from the first peak to the fifth peak. When I was a kid, I watched Saint Seiya, and for the first time I learned about the Wulao Peak and the iconic waterfall in Mount Lu. There are not too many people here, so it is a good place to climb mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Nestled in the enchanting Krokong Bau area, Fairy Cave is a limestone marvel that beckons adventurers and nature lovers alike. This captivating cave not only offers thrilling rock climbing opportunities but also serves as a significant cultural landmark steeped in myth and history. Legend has it that this mystical site has been revered for generations, making it an essential stop for those exploring the region's rich heritage.
Cave of the Immortal (仙人洞) is one of the most spectacular walks and historically important religious sites on Lushan, a holy mountain south of Wuhan. The immortal is Lu Dongbin, one of the most popular deities in Taoism. According to legend, it was here in the 8th century that he meditated until he became immortal. (Note: the standard translation of the Chinese word "xianren" 仙人 is "immortal" and not "fairy," which in today's English conjures up Tinkerbell or some little being with wings. Can someone fix the name of this location? It's completely ridiculous to use the outdated word "fairy.") I spent a day here in 2016 and talked to Taoist priests who still walk the mountains and live in the caves. The place is at times overrun with tourists, so my advice is to go early on a weekday morning, or in foggy or rainy weather. That way you avoid the weekend crowds. Nearby you can see the site of the Lushan Conference in 1959, when Mao silenced critics and made the Great Famine (1958-61) one of the worst in recorded history. So on this mountain you can see some of the highest and lowest points of Chinese civilization...

During the summer, the 九江庐山瀑布群 attraction can become excessively warm, potentially lacking water. The Sandie Spring cascades down approximately three thousand feet below, appearing quite small at first glance. However, after rainfall, it is anticipated to transform into a more enchanting sight. Hopefully, there will be future opportunities to visit this attraction again.

Dong Lake, also known as East Lake, is a popular tourist attraction located in Wuhan. Despite being situated within the city, it offers a vast and serene green space with various trees, sculptures, Chinese temples, and small boats floating on the water. The area features benches, cafes, and playgrounds for children. Renovations have transformed the park into a more beautiful space with biking lanes replacing car roads. Visitors can rent bikes to explore the picturesque surroundings of Dong Lake.
This is a part of East Lake (Dong is East in Chinese). It's a very beautiful scenery along the coastline of Dong Lake. Lots of scenic. And picnic spots surrounding the lake where families and visitors enjoy the comfortable atmosphere.

Lots of walking and places to hang out. You can buy fish food at the stall in the center of one of the smaller lakes. Very peaceful.
Mike X — Google review
I was impressed by the park and its lake - although its in the city, area is big and green, you feel yourself relaxed, surraunded by nature, dufferent trees, sculptures, chinees temples, small boads floating in water. You can find many benches, as well as cafes and playgrounds for kids. Dont expect, that you see whole park in 1 day - for that you need to rent a bicycle and be fit :) also you may rent a boat (price is fixed for all of them and depends on the distance) to see spectacular vies from the lake side. The park has differently designed areas, for example, traditional chinees garden, modern sculpture park, west plams trees garden and many others. For me the most exciting was walking down the sidewalk, where water is at the both sides.

Hubei Provincial Museum, established in 1953, is a large museum with an impressive collection of around 200,000 historical and cultural artifacts.
Great experience. So many cool artifacts from over 2000 years ago. Free admission, but reservation is required. The most famous area is the Sword of Goujian. There was a line to get in to that area and a large crowd around the display case. It took a long time to get to the front to take a photo. If you are not okay with a bit of pushing to get through, you may have a bad experience here.
Yiran L — Google review
Amazing collection, many ancient artifacts. They provide an audio device. The descriptions in English are meager, better bring an audio device or use a translation device.
Stepp B — Google review
Nice museum with a decent collection of Chinese antiquities. Highlights are the bronze sword and ancient bells. Can also attend a performance that highlights how the bells sounded. Multiple gates and entry points. Make sure to book in beforehand and have your passport.
Daryl S — Google review
All I can say is wow! The overall layout of Hubei Provincial Museum reflects the construction model and characteristics of Chu State (a state in the Spring and Autumn Period (770BC-476BC)). It is amazing to see what kind of technology that they had even before Christ was born. The tomb of Marquis was simply impressive. How well preserved it was as well as all of the artifacts that were buried. He was the 9th emperor of the Han dynasty. There are many photos showing how they excavated the tomb and parts which were completely under water. The majority of the works lost wax technique. It is hard to imagine that they could make such detailed bronze statuary. The museum is split into three parts: the comprehensive exhibition hall, the Chu Culture Exhibition Hall and the Chime Bell Exhibition Hall. The bells were so impressive. There was a small display in a corner where you could simulate the bells tones just by pressing a key on a keyboard. Depending on where the bell was hit was a different tone.
S D — Google review
The 2,400-year-old Bianzhong bells sound exactly as they did for Marquis Yi - their bronze alloy remains uncorroded. The silk gallery's 30g burial robe would pass through a wedding ring. Security guards know where the floor creaks loudest near the Chu kingdom artifacts.
Arman K — Google review
A gorgeous place to spend at least three hours on. A concise exhibit that showcases what Hubei is known for. Go for the souvenirs, the bookmarks and nick nacks are very affordable.

Yellow Crane Tower, a reconstructed 5-story tower standing at 168 feet high, is a revered landmark in Wuhan. Originally built during the Qing dynasty as a military watchtower, the current building was erected in 1981 and has become the pride of the city. The pagoda features traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy, decorative lamps, a souvenir shop, and a showroom modeled after ancient Chu-style sitting rooms.
黃鶴樓 is undoubtedly one of the most stunning traditional Chinese towers I’ve ever visited. Its architectural grandeur is awe-inspiring, both during the day and at night. During daylight, the intricate designs and vibrant colors stand out against the sky, while in the evening, the tower is beautifully illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere. Climbing the stairs to the top was absolutely worth it—the panoramic view of Wuhan from above was spectacular! You can see the city’s skyline, the winding Yangtze River, and the surrounding landscapes, making it a perfect spot for photography and reflection. To my delight, there was also a cultural performance in front of the tower during my visit. The traditional music and dance added an extra layer of charm to the experience, making it even more memorable. Whether you're a history enthusiast, architecture lover, or simply looking for a picturesque place to explore,黃鶴樓 is a must-visit. I highly recommend it and would gladly return!

First time climbing Yellow Crane Tower, I fell in love with Wuhan ❤️ I came here by metro from my hotel — it was a bit far, but Wuhan’s metro is super convenient and comfortable. The entrance ticket is ¥70, and I highly recommend buying it online in advance, especially during holidays, because the queue for on-site tickets can take forever! From the tower, I saw Tortoise Mountain TV Tower, the Yangtze River Bridge, and the stunning skyline of Wuhan. Took so many photos 📸 This city is truly full of history and life — I really love it here!

Reconstructed inly 40 years ago and on a different hill than the original, the yellow crane tower remains a must see in Wuhan. The stupa at the entrance is the only one in the city and the tower itself has been rebuilt according to the original design. Great view from the top and a nice park to walk around !

The location is excellent, in the center of the city. Easy parking, short walking distance to the tower. Beautiful night scenery, but it's hard to get to the top of the tower during summer break, too many people.

Too many stairs also one-way. Slight state of disrepair Able to see 'the whole of china' What's meant to be made of wood is not made of wood PS. there are nets in case you drop your phone and stair guards to prevent slips and reduce falls

The Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghelou) is undoubtedly one of the most iconic landmarks in Wuhan, and visiting it is like stepping into a living piece of Chinese history and poetry. Perched on Snake Hill along the Yangtze River, the tower offers not only stunning views of the city and river below but also a rich cultural experience that blends history, architecture, and legend.
Sam I — Google review
A lot of steps within this area so it is not wheelchair-friendly. I recommend you to buy a ticket for back & forth shuttle for 10 Yuan per person to reach the tower which is very convenient. There is a Millennium Bell and small part of ancient wall across the pagoda. The tower has an elevator for elders and disabled persons but you need to ask officers there to use it. At the ground hall, there is a giant ceramic painting of a yellow crane that everyone must take picture with. On the upper deck, there is a beautifully painted ceramic hall in green color with 4-sided outdoor terrace, with stunning views of Wuhan city and Yangtze River.

This is where Zhuge Liang lived in seclusion for ten years before leaving the mountains, and it is also where Liu Bei visited the thatched cottage three times. When you step into Longzhong, the first thing that catches your eye is the large stone archway built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. On one side of the archway is engraved a famous line from Du Fu's "The Prime Minister of Shu": Three visits frequently make plans for the world, and two dynasties open up the hearts of veterans. On the back are engraved the five characters "Three Generations Next". In memory of Zhuge Liang, he was praised by later generations as the most outstanding figure after Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties. In the scenic area, there are also "Ten Scenic Spots in Longzhong" built by later generations because of their admiration for Zhuge Liang. If you go to Gurungzhong, it is recommended to watch "Thatched Cottage Theater". What an experience! Our group took the cable car up and then split off in to those who wanted to go to the ‘easier’ peak and those of us who wanted to scale the Dragon’s Back portion of the mountain. The climb wasn’t as difficult as we thought it would be and the views were absolutely spectacular, we were very lucky to have a clear and sunny day. We only had a few hours here but could have easily spent a day, there are places to stop to get food and drink - I would recommend the ice cream. The hike itself didn’t appear as dangerous or difficult as it’s made out to be, but you definitely have to watch your step and be careful of those who suddenly stop in your path taking a rest so that you don’t bump in to them. If you spend the day here then it’s very busy to get on the gondola and leave, so be prepared to wait.

It was a rainy day, but the view was worth the cold. A marvellous experience that is an essential stop in Xian.🏔️❤️ Suggested hiking shoes and windbreaker.

We visited here as our first stop on a 5 day Xian tour. It was a bit cloudy so we had some beautiful views with clouds. We first took a bus to the Mountain entrance where we had to ride special HuaShan buses to the cable car station. The cable cars are quite modern and offered incredible views of the special mountain features. After exiting the cable cars, there are 2 main options, climb the North Peak or the South Peak. We only took the North Peak as it had the famous HuaShanLunJian 華山論劍 (DeepSeek intro): Huashan Lunjian (literally "Discussing Swords on Mount Hua") is a legendary martial arts contest from Chinese wuxia (martial heroes) fiction. Popularized by Jin Yong's novel The Legend of the Condor Heroes, it refers to a grand tournament held atop Mount Hua where the world's greatest martial artists duel to determine the ultimate champion and claim a powerful martial arts manual. The term is now a popular Chinese metaphor for any high-level competition or summit meeting among masters of a field. (End of intro) After descending, there are many lucky artifacts and shops. PSA: Beware of scammers, they have people pretending to be customers to try to impress on you that the shop is giving them a fantastic deal when it fact they are incredibly expensive. We were looking at some herbs when the fake customer insisted the shop first grind the herbs before weighing it, saying there will be some weight loss due to the grinding, the shop agreed only when the customer agreed to buy it once grounded We almost fell for it. The fake customer also pretended that his boss called him on the phone. We did agree but and they ground the herbs, then the price was announced and it was incredibly expensive (remember they didn’t weigh it before so we had no idea how much we were buying) We called their bluff and walked out. Luckily they didn’t gang up on us. It was a lesson well learned. Beware!!! Almost ruined a wonderful event.

Many ways to enter the mountain. We took a 45min bus up towards the West summit, followed by a cable car up and another 30min hike towards the west summit but it was crowded so we decide to hike up to the South summit first and then downwards to the west summit which turned out to be a great idea. There were a few rest stops with food stalls and merchandise purchases and we found one with really nice food. Slightly more expensive but worth a try. We had corndogs, dumpling soup, cold noodles 凉皮and Chinese hamburger 肉夹馍. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes, dress light as it can get pretty hot. Expect lots of narrow stairs with chain rails and some parts even without handrails. To get to the top of the South summit, steps were small and almost vertical so you will need both hands to get up. You can also choose a short luge down at 30RMB per pax. View is breathtaking. Will go back again.

love this. the mountain tops on a good day are so beautiful and truly are amazing. the stairs (manual walking all the way up) is a challenge, but they do offer cable car services (which offer some truly amazing views, albeit a little scary sometimes 😅). Definitely a must visit if you go to Xi'An.

We joined a local tour and took nearly 2hrs from Xian to reach the park entrance. Then another 50min on a park bus to finally reach the park. We rode the toboggan to the cable car station. Took us another 20min to finally reach the West peak station. From there we walked to South peak, Nantianmen and end at the West peak cable car station. Quite a challenging hike, mostly uphill steps. We travelled 7 hours to spend 2 hours hiking there. It's better to stay a night in the vicinity and start your hike early.

From huashanbei station, walk straight out and turn left to see bus terminal. There are many touts to offer 5¥ “taxi” or even offer us free “taxi” to take us to Huashan tourist center. Pls do not take them, I think they will drive u to buy expensive tickets from their agent. U can take the free shuttles bus or 5¥ blue direct bus(official) to the tourist center. U can buy tickets online via trip.com for the Huashan bus & entrance ticket to cable cab center, and cable ticket is also available for sale at the cable car station. All official. Total u need 3 tickets, shuttle from tourist center to cable car, entrance and cable car ticket From train station, take either blue bus 5¥ (direct) or free line 1 or lin 2 bus at bus terminal (multiple stops).

Your experience will depend a lot on the weather. Not worth going if the area is covered in mist. I was up there and there was no view as you can see in the video. Gets insanely crowded. The easiest approach is by cable car to the west summit. You can spend 1 to 2 hours, making your way to the plank walk and down again by cable, all very easy except for stairs. If you want to do the plank walk, it will help a lot if you can speak Chinese. This attracts very few foreigners despite what you see on YouTube and the staff do not speak English.
