An impressive monastery. The cathedral is currently undergoing restoration - lots of scaffolding. ​Despite the construction, it's a very peaceful place. It makes for a great short stop if you're driving through the area. There is a small shop with monastery items. ​Important Info: - ​There is no entrance fee. - ​No photos/videos are allowed inside the monastery. - ​Dress respectfully (shoulders/knees covered). They provide trousers for men and long skirts for women at the entrance.

It is under rehabilitation. So sad that they can’t restore all the paintings inside due to financial issue. You can still feel the solemnity of Georgian Orthodox Church though.

Currently under renovation, so many areas were closed offand the church tower and much of the walls are covered in scaffolding. Church itself is very impressive, as are the graves and the gardens. It's still well worth visiting.

Visiting the historical Alaverdi Monastery was amazing. The territory is well taken care of. In the yard they have single vine plants of almost all Georgian grape varieties. We also booked a tour in a 11th century historical wine cellar in advance. Nana's presentation was very informative and interesting. Through the visit, we got to experience Georgian culture and its close ties to winemaking.

Very beautiful remote monetary that part of it is carved in the stone. There is a scenic hike up to it and than you go to see it inside. Near by there are beautiful and colorful dunes. There is a trail that you can take between them, the nature here is like magic. Also the whole region’s natural landscape is so different than other regions in Georgia , it makes the place special.

It was a worth experience visiting here, the hike was a bit exhausting for me but in the end I enjoyed it. There are rainbow mountains next to the monastery which looks beautiful.

Great views from and around the monastery. There isn’t any tickets so its free to enter. Paths outside of the monastery are slippery so don’t go in sandles (a lot of people were there with crocs/sandles and had issues) and I also recommend taking long pants because there is a lot of weeds which are sharp and paths are narrow. But the view from up top are great! If you need water there is small monk shop near the monastery.

One of the most wonderful place I have visited so far! Extremely peaceful, especially if you visit the place at the non-peak tourist time. The drive from Tbilisi to David Gareji was as beautiful and scenic. We took the alternate route which was 20mins slower than the best route option showed in Google Maps, which turned out to be absolutely wonderful. No tickets required. Core memory! :)

No tickets needed to enter the monastery, but be aware that there is not much in the area, so it's recommended to bring drinks and snacks, (and 0,50 for the bathroom). For those who are a little agile, there is a small cave up the hill with an altar, but it's a little climb. The view of the monastery is great from that hill. (!) You might walk into some military since you're really close to the border, but everyone I walked into was really friendly. (!) Beautiful and historical place. The tunnel to the cave is very well maintained and has paved floor and hidden lights in the walls that felt like a tunnel to the Wonder land. And classical music that plays non-stop! The cave with the lake is amazing and a story behind it too. I very recommend to everyone at least ones in lifetime to visit this place. You won't regret it!

Highest peak of Europe. The photo was taken on my return flight from Europe to Japan. It has two iconic peaks,the eastern peak at 5621m and western peak at 5642m that is the top of European wide. It is stratovolcano and the symbolic center of the mountain belongs to Caucasus range.

Gorgeous mountain, one of the 7 summits. The views from the top are great too (when not in whiteout, of cause). The south side is a little spoiled by civilization (mostly skiing infrastructure) so only after 5300 m you start feeling truly in alone and a little detached from civilization. Still great experience, though!

Beautiful mountain in the heart of Caucasus. Not a very technical climb at all. Not many people will be climbing it with you even during high season, so it's still quite enjoyable. Biggest problem during the climb will be that some of the tourists climbing with you will be taking the "shortcut" to the base camp (with ski lifts) and to the Summit (with snowcats). Not exactly the most nature oriented climb. But besides this, the views are amazing and the climb enjoyable. Because it's not so high in altitude, you should be doing quite ok on the altitude sickness side as long as you take the necessary time and listen to your body. We saw one tourist (from another group) having to be lifted down by a rescue team because he was already at severe altitude sickness levels. People are not careful enough and do not understand what that can cause to them. So be mindful!

Dombai offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a true winter wonderland experience. The slopes are great for intermediate skiers, and the surrounding nature is simply magical - perfect for both skiing and scenic walks. The infrastructure isn’t as modern as in Europe, but that’s part of its charm. Lifts can be a bit outdated and queues are common during peak season, but the incredible beauty of the place more than makes up for it.

My daughter studied the history of the Russian Empire at the English school and when we arrived in Batumi we went to show her Gonio. This is a unique place that everyone should visit. The territory is not big, but it has so much history. There is a very beautiful museum on the premises that can describe the history in detail. Here you can buy souvenirs, take a walk and there is a toilet. This year we also saw roses blooming - here is our own alley of different roses. There is a separate house in which clothes and tools of those times are presented. Admission is free for locals and 10 GEL for guests.

08/08/2025 This place is one of the most beautiful places I've visited in my whole life. I went there in August and the weather was perfect. Make sure to wear something warm. Ask your driver to take you to the waterfall on your way there. When you get to the lake you can rent a bike for 10 lira/hour, or you can ride a boat for approximately 50 lira/20 minuets, and there is the parachute too, but it's expensive if you're with a big group (500 lira per person). I highly recommend going there especially if you're with your friends and have no babies.

I had my doubts about Uzungöl being worth the hype, but once I got there, I realized it absolutely deserves its great reputation!

A very well preserved mansion that belonged to a Greek (Ottoman back then) banker and used as his summer house. After the population exchange in 1923 he was forced to leave behind his properties (as did thousands of other Greeks) and return back to Greece. The property was gifted to Ataturk 1 year later by the people of Trabzon as he visited it and liked it a lot. The mansion itself is very beautiful and a sign of prosperity of the people back then. Beautiful monastery, built in 4th century. No amount of words can explain the beauty of the location and the detailed workmanship that went into building this place. The walk to monastery is short but steep, however the views along the way are worth the effort. It's definitely a great place to visit. It does get crowded pretty quickly as large groups visit it

That experience was a life time experience. I had seen photos before, but it was a hidden gem. When you climb all the stairs to see a monks city, very well preserved was very exciting. Highly recommended experience. My favorite part was to see the church, but very sad to see the murals were destroyed by the first visitors. Seeing all the priest rooms, the kitchen, the library made me to understand the life style of the monks that lived there for many years. The monastery is placed in an amazing nature that takes your breath away.

Magic place in the mountains! As we climbed up the mystic music was echoing from hill to hill. I am posting some photos. The monastery has a special energy and well preserved history of the early Christianity. At the bottom – Altun River (The golden River, which still has some gold.) One of the most mysterious places I have visited! Go see the magic!

Such a beautiful place, beautiful views, the ancient mosaic is mesmerising. You have to walk a bit before you see the mosaic, the forest during the walk is nice. We had museum cards, so it was even easier for us to enter.

This place has great views of the city. There is a nice restaurant and coffee house. It is,a quiet place to escape from the city.

Very beautiful place with amazing views, it’s a very beautiful castle that’s located on a high hill that overlooks the city of Giresun, i highly recommend visiting this castle to enjoy the wonderful views from it.(The photos are from my trip back in October 2020)

The picturesque surroundings and fresh air make it a perfect setting for a memorable picnic experience. However, please note that parking space near the castle is limited. It's advisable to plan your visit accordingly or consider alternative transportation options to make your trip more convenient.

Both mystical and epic place. Geat topography and that presents amazing views from surround there for both every season and day time however especially dawn and dusk times are my favorites. Actually, time lapse videos emerge this beauty very much.

The place is beautiful with stunning view at the cost and city. It wasn’t really a castle, just few standing walls, yet worth the visit. We had fries and meatloaf (kind of) and smoothies (milkshakes)… at the restaurant there and it was good with clean toilets. But the public toilets there were horrible.

It is a very nice place. There are coffeeshops and restaurants there. We haven't had any food therefore I don't know about the quality but the view is amazing.

I am quoting from the Bandirma museum: "The Bandirma boat which a fulfilled a very significant role on the the way to independent Turkish republic, has taken its unique place in the history by taking Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, as the 9th army inspector, and his eighteen friends to Samsun. The Bandirma boat was built as a passenger and cargo ship in 1878 in Scotland under the name of "Torocaderto" and wad operated for five years by a company. The Bandirma boat was used as a cargo vessel under the name of " Panderma" registered in Ottoman maritime administration ( idare-i Mahusa), bu a greek shipowner from 1893- 1910. The Bandirma boat 9th army inspector Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his 18 friends on board from Istanbul and arrived to Samsun on 19 May 1919. It served as a mail steamer the on. The Bandirma boat was out of service in 1925 and later it was dismantled. A genuine model of the Bandirma boat with its original size (47.70 m x 6.83m. x 4.27m.) was built by the Governorship of Samsun. Its environmental arrangement was realized by the Samsun Governorship and Samsun Metropol Municipality."

Place where everything begun in 19.05.1919. "Must see" for those who wish to know about Turkey more. P.s.Entrance is not free, cost 2 Lira's but you do not get any token, they just give you normal metal 1 TL coins😆

A must see place for all Turkish citizens and foreign visitors to understand the basics of the Turkish war of independence that started in 1919. You can see the unique documents on British Invasion of Turkey and Mustafa Kemal's will to resist.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but good replica boat, great exhibition inside inc some original possessions from Ataturk. Only issue text mainly in Turkish so maybe tricky for tourists.

Nice museum and very educational. Non-Turks should take a translator app to get the most out of the experience.

This place was so beautiful, calm and quiet. We spent more than two hours there and we like to stay more. Strongly recommend to families and couples.

beatifull vieu and picnic area

OK for a picnic - showers are semi functional and dirty - same for toilets. There is no electricity or water hookup for caravans. There would be no place for a trailer. You can take a dolmuş to Sinop.

Beautiful waterfalls but need a lot of investment and are a bit lacking in cleanliness unfortunately I urge people there to clean the waterfall lake from algae and unwanted wood

Despite some construction underway on a new bridge at the entrance, the park is beautiful and well laid-out. There are several quaint little cafes too, but they suit the natural setting well. The steps up to the first several falls are well maintained and fairly easy for a reasonably fit adult to climb, but we didn’t have time to get to all the falls. Definitely worth spending a couple hours here to get to the top.

Such a fun museum to explore! It’s full of fascinating history about old businesses and inventions. I especially loved the classic cars and the tiny model houses 🏠🚗 The place is clean, peaceful, and perfect for a slow museum walk.

The museum is amazing and has some really good vintage cars. There are other things and personally collections from koc family too. The museum also offers a cafe. Teachers and students pay a discounted price of 50 TL. Usual price is 100 TL

Mind blowing and beautiful. We are not sure what the theme of the museum is hahaha, it has tons of EVERYTHING, literally, but each corner is amazing and you just keep saying "wow" over and over. Very reasonably priced, we were there for at least 2 hours and I'm sure we didn't even finish half of the exhibits, this museum is massive and encompasses several buildings. Truly unique and marvelous, a must see in Ankara.

I really loved the musum. As someone interested in history and the people, it gave me really good glimpse into the life and profession of the Turkish people in the past century. The other part of the musum, which included the collection of many things, from model trains and model ships, to hunting gear, submarine and ship parts, etc, was really interesting as well. I spend more than two hours there, and I think I should've spent more.

It's simply great place to visit - lots of different models and original mechanisms all over the world, you'll find miniaturized ships and planes, rarity cars like Ford T or Messerschmitt KR200, the historical background of the museum building is also affected telling visitors the story of handicrafts in Ottoman Empire. The whole visit could take up to few hours because exposition is quite huge, but it's really worth it.

Beautigul musuem abd if you are in ankara i highly recommend you to visit it. You may also visit aldo neabery musuems in the same location almost. There is many to see regarding to the hitittes and a lot of historical things regarding of haunting cooking etc from what first humain were doing.

Interesting place to discover the ancient history of Turkey. Everything is very interesting until the roman area which comes short. Their is good explanations of the artifacts exposed ans the place is beautifull too. I fou have one thing to see in ankara I believe it is it.

Fabulous wealth of amazing artifacts from neolithic to Roman occupation times. I could have spent another 3 hours here, but for time constraints. The Sumerian, Hittite and Akkadian stone carvings and wall reliefs are jaw dropping!

A stunning museum that is home to majority of the Anatolian Civilizations Heritage. Infact, won European Museum of the Year Award in 1997 which is an award started to be given out 1977. It is one of the most interesting and beautiful museums of the country. A must visit! ☺️

Well done museum. Displays are well lit and easy to see, even in a crowd. They have sculptures and pieces of life from thousands of years BC.

This is one of the most important Museum about Anatolic antique culture and Art. It is a great journey into the ancient art from Paleolitic period with divine feminine little sculptures (paleolitic venus), mural paintings and graffiti, decorated & zoomorphic vases, the fascinating Grave Sun Disk Ornament and primitive utensils till 1.000 BC. But nonetheless, there’a central rooms with decorared walls from ancient temples and cities. A must-see place, expecially if you are not going to travel through the region to visit ancient ruins spread all over former Anatolia. The location of the Museum is also a nice quiet place within a nice little park and close to a typical turkish market descending back to the big avenues. The Museum has designed also some space dedicated to rest and have some talks when finished the tour. Finally, as a restored old marketplace, the building in itself is a pleasant spot in the caotic architectural melting pot of the capitol.

Amazing place especially the informative museum. Security is tight and can take a while to clear. Our guide told us dslr cameras 📷 are not allowed in. However, on entry we noticed a number of people with them. At exit, asked the Security about this, and he advised that as long the camera and lens don't appear large, it's permitted. Not advisable to take more than one lens, so take a zoom type. Also be prepared for large crowds especially at weekends. Changing of guard is worth watching 👀. It happens every hour at quarter past hour.

The day we were there was very busy due to national student holidays, that's why the main hall was very crowded and approaching the tomb took a long time. Was surprised to see how well the old cars were maintained for exhibition. Smoking is prohibited on the whole area, watching the soldiers marching in the yard was interesting too.

A must visit in Ankara. It's free to enter, there is just an extensive security check at the entrance. They have an exhibition of Atuturks personal belongings as well (clothes, swords, medals, pipes, tea sets etc.) and an area displaying scenes from the war of independence. So it's also like visiting a museum. They have a small cafe too.

A huge and truly beautiful place, easy to reach. I was very impressed by the moment when the Turkish national anthem starts and everyone stops to show respect. If you happen to be in Ankara, I definitely recommend visiting Anıtkabir

Anıtkabir is a complex containing the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Its construction was completed in 1953. The complex consists of various structures and monuments, including the Sarcophagus of Ismet Inonu and Atatürk & The War of Independence Museum. We went there during The National Teachers Day.

A very beautiful and wonderful place, especially in autumn. It gets crowded on weekends, and the road requires attention, but it’s definitely worth it

We visited Yedigöller at the weekend. The weather was great. Along the way, I recommend stopping at Kapankaya seyir terasi... It's an inconspicuous stop, so I recommend following the GPS. There is a narrow road leading to yedigöller and it is forbidden to stand on the side of the road. But the park was full of people and everyone stopped. That is why there was a ban on the way back, for the way back you had to go in the direction of Mengen. Which is a longer and, as they said, worse way. The road from Bolu was good, in places it was completely new. There were a lot of people in the park. The leaves were yellow in places, but mostly still green. Don't believe the photos on social networks, they use a filter. But it's a nice place and everyone should visit it at least once. The lakes have a beautiful turquoise color.

Amazing natinal park good for camping and hiking well equipped with restaurant cafes bathrooms and prayer areas. There are 7 lakes, the nature is great, you walk in the middle of the forest. Good escape from the city.

15/11/2025 : Instagram tarafından öldürüldü :( 50k people, almost 10k cars...1.5hr drive on an unmaintained local road to reach a place that is no bigger than 2 acres and where there is no natural light after 3-4pm... + with such huge crowds in such a tiny place expect the usual crazy littering (dozens of water and ayran bottles scattered everywhere, even saw a whiskey bottle floating) and general ridiculous behaviours (constant honking, loud music playing, wannabe instagramers shooting nonstop, cigarette packs and cigs everywhere...). The place itself might be ok when alone tho fairly secluded, but is really not worth the hype in those conditions. Avoid this place!

Amazing experience! I went there from Istanbul, i took a bus to Bolu and then hitchhiked to the national park ! It was 7 in the morning, the first driver left me in the middle of the road And I was a bit worried not to find another driver! But after 9 you will find plenty, The park is amazing, worth visiting

I have visited this place with my friends and loved every bit of it. Amazing landscapes and very nice lush green lakes. You can visit this place both in summers and winters. If you are planning to visit for more than a day do take your camps with you because you will enjoy more in camping.

extremely lovely natural park... large with a lot of sitting areas... you can enter by your car and drive around the super lovely lake then choose where to sit and enjoy.. many toilets and restaurants... there is a camping area... In one word, it is the place to dive into nature... Highly recommended

Must visit! I enjoyed a full walk around the lake and I really recommend it. Just make sure you have a couple of hours to spare for the walk. Wear hiking shoes.

Visited in winter- with snow covered hills, pristine lake - such a peaceful and relaxing place. Came here practically every day when we stayed in the area. We are tourists so of course, we did the touristy thing and had a horse carriage ride. Was a pleasure

It is a good area with a lake and some facilities like having picnic and jogging, but garbage around was disappointing. There is also a museum with traditional model houses and mounted animals.

Lake Abant is a freshwater lake in Turkey's Bolu Province in northwest Anatolia, formed as a result of a great landslide. The lake lies at an altitude of 1,328 m at a distance of 32 km from the provincial seat of Bolu. It is a vacation and excursion spot for both Turkish and foreign travellers due to the natural environment, forests, and accessibility by car. It is served by a 21 km road. It is three hours' drive from İstanbul and Ankara. Lake Abant is a natural park. The lake covers an area of 1.28 km2 and its deepest spot is 18 m. The lake area has two large hotels in the immediate vicinity of the shores, as well as other amenities and services for visitors, who sometimes alternatively opt for the family guesthouses available in the nearby town of Mudurnu, 18 km to the south. European black pine, Scots pine, oaks, ashes, hornbeams, willows, junipers, tamarisks, hazels, common medlar, and strawberry trees are among the tree species that make up the lake's woodlands, and there are wild boars, fallow deer, roe deer , red deer, brown bears, wolves, red foxes, jackals, and rabbits in the surrounding forests, which makes the lake a prized location for hunters during the season. The lake is inhabited by the Abant trout Salmo abanticus, a (sub)species of trout which is strictly endemic to this lake only.

Amazing place for the nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts or for any one who wants some fresh air and serene view. A must to see in Bolu. If you don't own a car, there is a bus from downtown Bolu that goes directly to the park, make sure to check the bus schedule before taking it.
