Beautiful spot to spend the day. The lake of Barcis is surrounded by beautiful mountains that make the scenery just magic. When the water is high (and it's important to keep in mind that this is a semi-artificial lake and sometimes it might not be full, as in the first pictures), the landscape becomes a perfect mix of turquoise waters and green woods. There is plenty of things to do: taking a walk around the old town of Barcis, walking across it's bridge, visiting the old road + the Tibetan bridge (this has a cost of 3€/person + 3€/person if you want to do the bridge), take a walk around Sentiero del Dint and see the lake from different perspectives (this is free and my favourite), etc. Highly recommended!

Nice little lake tucked in the mountains. We took bread and fed the birds, had a pick nick and then explored. Went around the lake multiple times. Water was down but lots of construction in the area. It was great for a nice relaxing afternoon away from the towns.

Nice area, great mountain scenery, good for short hikes, but also for longer ones. The lake is not natural but the result of a dam (just in case you expect a "real" lake).

One of those places you must visit but then make you sad to think of the magnitude of the tragedy that occurred. Guided tours are arranged within reasonable intervals. We visited on a Saturday so parking was hard as expected but we got a spot not far away.

Interesting to see what has happened here, only downside is that it's only accessible with a paid guided tour.

The Vajont Dam is an impressive feat of engineering, but it is also infamous for the disaster that occurred here in 1963. It is definitely worth a visit, as the atmosphere will certainly affect you, and it is clear that the locals still bear the memory of this event with them. To go directly to the top of the dam, you need to purchase a ticket for a guided tour. Unfortunately, most of the tour takes place outside the dam, at a viewpoint in the shadow of a small church. The adjacent paid car park is not very large, but there are other car parks within walking distance a little further into the mountains. There are no toilets here.

You can walk right up to the dam from the rear side, and you can walk on top of it, but only if you join a guided tour. Though the tour is nice, it's only available in Italian, but even if you don't speak the language, you can still enjoy the stroll over the dam and the amazing views from it

A reminder of the respect needed for the power and sometimes cruel beauty of nature. Definitely worth a visit if travelling through the Dolomites. This was the site of a terrible tragedy in 1963 when a massive landslide in the night from the slopes of Monte Toc above displaced millions of litres of water over the dam, drowning 1910 people (Including any children) in the village below. The dam is now disused and the site of a number of moving monuments and memorials to those who lost their lives.

It is a beautiful place to see, but with sad history. Even though it is a good example of how unpredictable nature can be. Let's these kind of place only learn us!

If you want to take a hike from Malga Ciapel through the canyon to Sottoguda, forget about it quickly. The canyon is still impassable and you can only find out about it on their website. They are probably taking their time with repairs... You can only get to the canyon there and back from Sottoguda and definitely take your own helmet if you have one. You can only get from Malga Ciapel to Sottoguda along an unmarked route on the left side of the road and on the way you will come across a relatively dilapidated bridge, so be careful, it is not in the best condition. An open area play area for kids in between the valley surrounded by mountain range. If you have young kids they will simply love it. It is a free park so you can stay as long as you want. If it is a sunny day then you will have an amazing time. Disclaimer: no toilets or may be they open during other season.

A wonderful place to walk but always be conscious of the dangers of the Pale. Good footwear is a must and a map essential although paths are well marked but sometimes easy to miss in mist or rain. Our dogs love the area but are well equipped with boots to protect paws from the sharp stone underfoot. Scenery spectacular.

Beautiful path, quite easy to do for people of all ages and fitness. The standard loop walk of about 1.5 miles takes you through the caves and canyon where you can see waterfalls. You're given a map at the ticket office but even without it the path is well signed and easy to follow. I recommend going early morning in summer as it can get hot hiking back up. Also the parking is a bit complicated to figure out, it would help if there were a sign post next to it with instructions instead of on-the-go reading from the meter screen which is difficult when is very sunny as the day we went. A standard loop walking slowly takes you about 1 hour so don't pay more than 1.5h parking unless you plan on having lunch at the restaurant inside the loop path or stop at the bar near the car park.

It is an easy walking activity and very interesting cave. Not so big, so don’t plan hours. We could manage it in 1 hour. You can park next to the bridge in a Parking lot, 1 h = 2€. You need to buy the parking ticket directly from the automata. We arrived around 10 am, it was not busy.

Nice park to wander around, check out the cheese maturing in the cave along with the rest of the caves and waterfalls. The mill down the path still turning the grinder with water power is neat and there is a great panorama view of the valley and the scenic church tower if you climb to the upper cave and proceed a little down the path. The restaurant is a neat option. We did not eat there. There is also a caffe at the visitors center on the way in. If you try and get all the paths and the elevated veiw it could be about 1.5 hour stop. Parking can be a little difficult to find as there are several small lots sprinkled around the park. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

We visited the outlet during the Venice Carnival and thought it would be very crowded due to the huge influx of tourists, but we were wrong. It was calm, and we could enjoy the walk. There is a great variety of stores. In some of them, the prices didn’t seem significantly lower than in regular shops, but in others, there was definitely a noticeable difference. Honestly, we expected lower prices and more deals.

Villa di Maser is one of the Palladian villas and the last one to be inhabited by a Duke, the husband of the late Contessa Diamante. It is beautiful, the frescoes are incredible. They make their own prosecco. It is a must see if you are in the Veneto region of Italy

Book a guided tour which includes the Tempietto church, and wine tasting plus lunch at the Casa Diamante on the estate. That will make for a perfect morning.

The most magical place in Maser! Not to be limited to a single visit, to be able to notice a new detail in Veronese's frescoes every time. Nice little dogs (the same ones found in the frescoes) welcome visitors, and some cats appear as well (must check behind the sofa!).

You can get lost in the many little streets within the walls of the fortress. Many streets line the canals were you with see ducks a swans. Rent a bike or take a stroll around the fort.

It was interesting and worth spending part of the afternoon there. After the museum, I suggest the outdoor seating at the bar because it has one of the most stunning views of River Brenta from there.

Visited the Rialto Bridge while in Venice, very easy to get to and visible from different places and also from the water. Loved staying nearby this beautiful bridge. Definitely a highlight to see it at all times of day, with the shops, the joy of everyone else experiencing the iconic moment and even the tension of all the boats and ferries doing the everyday life and business in the canal around it. There is a great local grocery store just down the canal. We didn’t end up eating in any of the restaurants right there as we found wonderful trattoria away from the crowds. Loved finding new views of it and from it.

An amazing experience. The Rialto bridge is definitely a must-see bridge while in Venice. It gets busy during the day as all tourists know this is a must-visit destination. We came here in October 2025 and there was still a lot of visitors but it is at the end of the season. There are restaurants where you can sit and enjoy cocktails and people-watch. The waterways are very busy so there's always something going on.

It’s one of the best spots to take photos and admire the beauty of Venice from above. Visiting St. Mark’s Basilica is a must for anyone coming to Venice. It’s not just a church it’s a living piece of art and history that leaves you amazed and inspired.

Wow. First look was across the square - what a magnificent place. Loved listening to Rick Steeves podcast about the square and outside of the church. So many intricacies and unique bits. Then we were a part of a mass in the side chapel- so lovely. Came back later that day for the whole tour (again with RS!) amazing history, architecture, heaving floor & art! Did the whole deal with Pala d’oro and Loggia and glad I did. So cool to get up close to the horses, the mosaics, the view from up top. I bought tickets the same day but that saved me some waiting time.

The Saint Mark’s Basilica is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches I have ever visited. The basilica blends perfectly with the surrounding Saint Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace, creating a breathtaking historical setting. The main altar is truly a jewel—absolutely astonishing in its detail and craftsmanship. On the second floor, the four Greek horses are remarkable pieces of art and history. I highly recommend visiting this magnificent church with a guided tour to fully appreciate its rich background and hidden details.

St. Mark’s Basilica – Venice We had tickets for the basilica but mixed up the date due to the time difference coming from the U.S.—we were supposed to visit on the 3rd at 3:00 PM, and only realized that day that our reservation was actually for the 4th which is the following day. We arrived very early in the morning of the 4th when it opened. There was an event in the piazza so there was no line at all, and we explained that we had to catch a train later that afternoon. Despite the empty entryway and our situation, we were denied entry and told to return at the exact reservation time. We respect that there are rules and timed tickets exist for crowd control, but it was disappointing that there was zero flexibility, especially when the basilica was not crowded and accommodating two visitors would not have impacted operations. The basilica itself is extraordinary, and MAYBE we’ll try again next time—but travelers should know that the staff take reservation times very strictly, even when the site is relatively quiet.

The Basilica di San Marco is really impressive. It offers incredible details and beautiful art. It is usually sold out for the next 2 days, so I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. On the official website you can buy it with an entry time, so you don’t have to queue outside. Once inside, you can also buy tickets for some additional areas of the Basilica, directly through a QR code that is placed right in front of the area you want to visit. If you wish to get an audio guide, you can rent one once inside, just after the access, but you will need your own earphones (which currently need a mini jack to be connected to the device), if you don’t have it, you can still hear it placing the device on your ear. This is available in several languages and it will be necessary if you want to know what you’re looking at in the Basilica. Depending on how long you want to stay inside, you may be able to see it all in 30-60 minutes, differently from the Palazzo Ducale which takes much longer. Have fun!

Then there is the views of the square from the balcony…

The first church on this site was constructed between 829 and 836 AD to house the relics of St. Mark the Evangelist, whose remains were taken from Alexandria, Egypt, and brought to Venice in the 9th century. The present structure, replacing the earlier church, was built between 1063 and 1094. The basilica reflects a fascinating blend of Byzantine, Romanesque, and Gothic architectural styles. This palace is beautiful and full of history and artwork. I recommend buying tickets ahead of time and giving yourself at least two hours to explore. I recommend getting a tour guide to learn more about the history of the palace. The café was also nice and not too expensive. It’s a must see when in Venice.

You have to get tickets online so you'll save time, not waiting to buy tickets. This palace is gorgeous, you will need more than an hour to see everything. This place is huge, there is a lot of photos opportunity. They have a impressive selection of fancy rooms. The ceiling is full of art, with golden details. Take time to learn about the history of this place. They have tour guides here as well, in case you want to learn more in detail. Give yourself about 2 hours here.

A must-see in Venice! The Doge’s Palace is absolutely breathtaking — filled with history, incredible art, and ornate architecture that captures the essence of Venice’s power and beauty. We visited around 5 PM, and it wasn’t busy at all, which made it even more enjoyable to explore at our own pace. Highly recommend booking tickets in advance to skip any lines and ensure your preferred time. Walking across the Bridge of Sighs and seeing the view from both sides was unforgettable. Truly one of the highlights of our trip!

Book ahead of time and the queue isn't TOTALLY awful. Impressive selection of fancy rooms with big paintings in them. Have fun spotting which doge looks the most like Santa! Surprised the gift shop doesn't do Doge Top Trumps, this would sell (if palazzo ducale are listening). Also top tip: at some point in the tour you get to the prison cells and you have the option to take the short route or the 'complete tour'. The complete tour is just LOTS MORE PRISON CELLS. Only take if you really enjoy empty stone rooms and stairs!

We booked a tour via get your guide (crown tours). The tour guide we had was passionate and her English was really easy to understand. We learnt so much. We chose the balcony tour and that was excellent and not too crowded. Got so much more out of your than I expected. Be warned plan to get there earlier than your time slot, I saw a couple who were late and missed there toyr and as other tours were full could not join the next one.

Oh my gracious what an incredible palace!! 686 years old. Do a tour! We did with skip the line passes. Hearing the history is needed to understand the meaning of so much of this palace. It is ginormous. I could walk around and stare at all the artwork and art, the exhibits, the prisons! Crazy to think prisoners as recently as 1920 were still being held here. The sheer wealth ugh

A visit here is €15, somehow steeper than visiting the actual basilica over the square, but I think it was worth it. You get a quick lift ride to the top of the tower and then obviously the views across the city. It was a bit rainy when we went but this didn’t ruin the experience. We did expect some kind of joined up ticket system for St. Mark’s Square; I think it would be good to be able to buy a linked ticket for the basilica, campanile and palace. Similar to the Doge’s Palace, the online ticket system was hard to navigate but it worked in the end.

It’s really nice being able to see so much of Venice from the top of the bell tower— the views are definitely a highlight and really beautiful. We paid €40 to go up, which felt a bit pricey, but overall the experience was still worth it. It was raining the day we visited, yet we still enjoyed the panoramic views over the city. A memorable stop in Venice!

You can now only purchase tickets for the bell tower online. There is a QR code to scan by the main entrance or visit their official website in advance. There is only one official ticket office for bell tower tickets and so you want the website with basilicasanmarco.skiperformance in the web address. I also highly recommend you do this in advance as it took us 45 minutes trying to do this there and then & the website kept crashing or took an age to buffer on account of the number of people trying to do the same thing in the same location. When we moved away from the area the website loaded more easily. They are the best views of Venice for sure and cost €15 per adult with cheaper prices for children.

The ticket system can be a little overwhelming, but once you get them, you will wait some time in queue for the lift. We had tickets for 18:00 - 18:30, the sunset was at 18:08 and we entered queue around 17:57 and got up after 18:14, the sun was already set but still was beautiful. The views you get up There is like nothing else provided in Venezia. You can see almost all of it, if you are here i definitely recomend giving these views a go.

Definitely worth to visit the tower. Great view from the top for every side of Venice. The lift takes you up and then down again. Recommend to buy tickets in advance as it might be busy. Also entrance might be flooded during high tide so be prepared with shoes covers.

The Campanile is the main landmark in Piazza San Marco and a must-do visit in Venice! The ascent is super easy, done entirely by elevator, and you only pay the entrance ticket (no extra fees for the elevator). ​The experience is a pure lookout point: there are no rooms or exhibitions up there, but the reward is the most spectacular 360-degree view of the city. *** Tip: Go up in the afternoon! Often, the morning fog covers the tower and can hinder the view. In the afternoon, visibility is usually perfect, offering the best perspective.

This allows you to have a look around Venice from above. You reach the top of the Campanile with an elevator and once on the top you can move around (literally) the balcony (closed with a metal net for security reasons. You are able to spot the points of interest all around and there’s a map in front of every “window” to help you understand what you’re looking at. The visit can really take 30 minutes if you’re not wishing to spend much time looking at the view. You will likely need to queue for the elevator both up and down, even if you have a timed ticket. Talking of which, it would be much better to buy that in advance to select the slot which suits you best. You can do so directly on the official website, where you have to create an account. You will receive digital tickets, no need to print. You don’t need a guide for this tour, as it is literally just a sightseeing.

Beautiful location. Choose the time of year you go as it can become very busy indeed. The streets of Venice are many and varied with many bridges and not a car to be seen. The waterways are busy too, bustling with boats which is entertaining to watch. Easy access by foot straight from the train station. Most definitely worth a visit but go armed with 'maps' on your phone so you don't get lost.

Such a lovely place to visit, the buildings are stunning. Very busy with a great feel and atmosphere. Very easy to get too, with lots of gift shops and stalls very close by, and also ferrry rides and gondola rides on the waterfont. A wonderfully beautiful place to be. Very hapy to have visited here

In my opinion, Piazza San Marco is one of the most beautiful squares in the world. The entire place feels almost magical — the canals, the buildings, the bell tower, the palace, and the clock all add a unique touch of grandeur and splendor. At night time it glitters colours and lights from different establishments. During the day it becomes a guide, a marker for people to follow and wander to their destination. Venice and Grand Canal, where nature and people’s ingenuity combine.

The Grand Canal is the heart of Venice—beautiful palaces lining both sides, gondolas gliding by, and vaporettos buzzing through. Whether you take a boat ride or just admire it from the bridges, the views are absolutely unforgettable.

This waterway runs the entire length of the Lagoon of Venice! There is much traffic on the waterway: water buses, water taxis, gondolas and private boats and amazing to see how they navigate it all. I purchased a 3-Day Water Bus pass and it allowed me to enjoy the beautiful views, massive buildings, Rialto Bridge and exquisite architecture of all the other buildings along the waterway.

The Grand Canal is Venice’s main waterway, offering stunning views of historic palaces and iconic bridges — a must-see for first-time visitors.

It was amazinggg, We loved it.We took the gondola and it was a great experience. We paid 90€ in total for three people. The price does not change depending on the number of people. It is the same whether there are five people. The 30 minute gondola ride is priced at 90€.Definitely take a walk around the back streets, this is essential to understand the spirit of Venice. And definitely eat at more local establishments, it's cheaper and more original.

Line 1 of the vaporetto is Venice’s best show. If you’re lucky enough to get the seats beside the pilot cabin, you feel the city open up: the thrum of the engines, the vibration of the deck plates, the water slapping the hull, and palazzi lit like stage sets as you glide past. Rialto was once the world’s trading floor, where goods from East and West were landed — and you sense that weight of history even now, slipping under its arch by night. A vaporetto ride is Venice’s greatest souvenir: not bought, but lived.

Very well-maintained walls, clean and safe. Panoramic and cool to walk during evening in the spring. €5 (per adult) well spent.

This is such a hidden gem - beautiful place and seriously impressive to be able to make the full tour on medieval city walls. Little tricky with a fear of heights, but manageable. The barriers were robust all round, and we felt sufficiently secure to bring our little boy there. Prams can be left at the entrance. The inside of the city itself is also nice to stroll around.

My wife and I were brought here by a family friend while visiting her here in Italy. We walked along the top of the wall that surrounds the city and marveled at the sights. The view is incredible. I wouldn't recommend the tour along the wall for anyone who's afraid of heights. The city itself is charming and had a street market setup when we were there. I was told that the market is only setup on Mondays.

Super cool experience to walk the walls surrounding this city. Only ones of the style that ypu still can walk in Europe. 360 degree veiws of the ancient town inside the walls and out along with a couple museums.

Cittadella itself is a nice little place. The normal day to day Italian life is visible here, in september there are hardly toerist. On Wednesday morning there is a market, the city holds Manny (coffee)bars and restaurants. There are also a lot of clothing shops. Verry nice for a 4-5 hour visit and lunch. The wall costs 5 euro to visit and wil give you stunning views over the city and surroundings. In a ralex pace the walk around took us 1 hour+. Note: not suitable for people with fear of heights 🫣.

A truly beautiful historic town with stunning buildings and a remarkable castle wall that can be visited and walked upon. There are plenty of cozy spots to enjoy coffee or grab a bite to eat, and parking is abundant and inexpensive. Do note that everything closes at 1 p.m. and reopens at 3 p.m. for siesta. Highly recommended.

BEAUTIFUL AND BREATHTAKING WALK ALONG THE HISTORIC CITY WALLS OF CITTADELLA. The full-price ticket for multiple destinations is very good and valid for a whole year. There is plenty of parking nearby. We purchased our entrance tickets from the tourist office located next to Porta Bassano.

Such history contained in this villa. To learn that Napoleon owned it and only spent 2 nights there was fascinating. Make sure to do a guided tour!

Marvelous Villa. Once home to the Nobel family Pisani and then later known as the "Royal Villa" hosting many royal families. It now has 168 rooms and a wonderful garden. Many of the rooms can be visited and have wonderful decor from the 1700 - 1800, it will for sure take you back in time. The villa and garden are kept beautifully and will take you about 2 hours to visit everything. Its A MUST VISIT if you are in the Region.

Neat Villa that would be great to visit during the greener summer months when guided tours are available. The villa is big with much of the rooms still being renovated to bring out the period elegance. The reflecting pool is nice, but stay away from touching the water...it looks nasty. The villa grounds are okay for the winter months. The highlight of the grounds is the maze. It was fun and challenging. The added benefit of visiting in the winter months is the low number of visitors.

A beautiful villa, a beautiful maze. A special place. Along the banks of the canal di brenta in the tiny village of Stra. From the original pisani family to Napoleon staying here a very interesting history.

Past glory in a miserable state. Fantastic piece of art still reminding us of its past grandeur, hosting original furniture and tapestry (in a shabby state) and lots of work of art. Worth a visit. Take a free guided tour. The guide was excellent and very well prepared. The garden is a beauty -- but in a poor state and badly kept. The long and crescent pools between the Villa and the stable are beautiful. But unfortunately very badly kept. Full of dust. Still worth a visit. Highly recommended are the paintings and the decorations on the ceiling and walls of most of the rooms. I wish the villa could be cleaned, the furniture dusted and the window panes cleaned. The well-known maze was closed. There is a parking lot close to the ticket counter (inside a gloomy bookshop). You need about 3-4 hours to see the fifty something rooms. Very unclean toilets.

You will found shallow water here. The sea water is not so clear. Also will found crabs 🦀.

Wow, what a wonderfully unique and electic castle. Fabulous design and wonderful trompe l'oeil. Definitely a dream brought to life. You have to join a tour - you cannot just wandering through the castle at your own pace, because it's a bit of a maze. However, we were given plenty of opportunity to photograph the rooms and views (stunning!) Our tour was in Italian, but our fabulous guide Alexandra translated key points for us, and there are information boards/signs in every room, explaining key points. Highly recommended!

It’s an interesting tour, especially if Alessandra is your guide! She makes the whole visit a great experience. Keep in mind you need to book in advance, and it is open only during the weekends (at least for now).

Our guide, Alessandra, was amazing. In our group we were the only ones (four of us) who didn't speak Italian and she took the time to explain things in English after speaking in Italian to the rest of the group. Found it while browsing places to visit in the area. We arrived there without reservation, but the lady at the ticket shop squeezed us into a tour with only 15min waiting time - thanks for that! The castle itself is very picturesc, with sometimes unbelievable amounts of details to discover. We enjoyed the stay a lot!

Great circuit, but is missing a museum and a caffè inside the circuit. With the story of this circuit is a must to have a museum.

5EUR to look at trackday event, walk around paddock, at any of the grand stands or the green areas... It was a fiver well spent. Moto trackday, but trucks were loaded with formula classics brought for a next event - some testing - got to see older Haas car too! haha

I spent the weekend at Mugello Circuit and had an amazing time. The track itself is legendary, fast, flowing, and absolutely thrilling to ride. Organization was top from start to finish, and the track marshals were outstanding: professional, alert, and always on point. Everything felt safe, well-coordinated, and smoothly managed. If you love motorsport, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be back.

Mugello is possibly the best track in the world! Excellent viewing, good sight lines, ease of access, friendly staff. General Admission is all around the track excluding stand areas - see the attached image. Hospitality in the Grandstand is first class - highly recommended. Spectator spectating is also available free of charge!!! Getting to and from the track during raceday is a frustration .... but 150,000 people keep doing it, so it can only be worthwhile!!

Amazing race track at an incredible location in the Tuscan hills. Easily accessible by car or train, top notch facilities, great viewing angles from the grandstands. Love Mugello!!

We have been here hoping to find some gems. Although there are a lot of shops, there were few clothes, at least for women. Or the collections at this moment in time were awful…I am not sure. And the discounts, in some shops it did not feel like outlet prices. Anyway, not worth the 50 min trip.

No better place for a Sunday after 5 PM! The outlet near Florence is the perfect spot to spend a relaxed Sunday evening. After 5 PM, the crowds thin out, making it ideal for browsing top designer stores without stress.

It’s an okay outlet — nothing special. On the plus side, there’s a huge parking area with over ten charging spots for electric cars, which is really convenient. But despite the number of stores, the selection is underwhelming, and prices are exactly the same as in downtown Bologna. Honestly, there’s no real reason to come here just for shopping. You’ll find the same brands and deals in the city, with a much better atmosphere. Not worth a dedicated trip.

Very nice outlet, you can walk around and enjoy lot of italian and worldwide brands, prices are good. Lot of stores for kids clothes. There are coffee shop to rest and enjoy drink.

Decent outlet mall just outside of Florence, has most of the larger brands you would expect. No large discounts however when we were there. Parking options are great and layout of the area is well arranged. Felt however a bit desolated on a rainy weekday.

Really enjoyed this part of our visit to Fiesole. The grounds have sites with Etruscan period ruins, a Roman amphitheater and baths, and burial spaces from after the Roman period (Longobardians). The museum houses items from all these periods from household items, coins, weapons, and decorative items. Interpretive signage is generally bilingual (Italian and English).

Beautiful local archeological museum. Quiet and we'll organized. A must see to complement the sight of the theater.

It's a small and poorly taken care museum and the people who work there are really disrespectful and screamed at me for feeding my baby (while she clearly could've talked RESPECTFULLY and peacefully) it's funny how a country full of naked statues and paintings has ignorant people whose shame mom's for feeding their babies

Beautiful Convent situated at the hill of Fiesole and near the panoramic observational viewpoint. You can enter and see a sort of museum as well as the old chirch. There are some rooms on the second floor, also available for visiting. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Nice place to take a brake and enjoy the silence.

A most wonderful and peaceful place to pass a few moments of tranquility. It is lived in but well open for the public to visit. There are many small treasures well kept by the monks and their helpers.

The view of Florence from this spot in Fiesole is stunning. The number 7 bus takes you to Fiesole. It's a very short bus ride to a beautiful Tuscan village in the hills. You can also visit the architectural site anfmd museum which are very interesting, too.

Walk up a steep street to a gorgeous view of Florence and visit this quaint little convent with a gift shop that sells some local products. I got some honey. Make sure to go up the stairs to see the small prayer rooms. Lovely photos. There’s also a garden that makes for a nice walk or a rest. Completely free!

Completely free little museum in a former monastery. The museum contains a mix of Catholic ritual items, local Roman/Etruscan ruins, and artifacts from China and Egypt that the local monks collected on their word travels. There are two paths up here: a very steep path up a road and a less steep path that has stairs through a park/forest. Simply start up the steep path and you'll see stairs to your right: take those stairs and you'll take the easier path to the museum.

Stumbled upon this place by accident. The front courtyard has a good aerial view of the valley below, church proper is a bit dark to see the fresco and altar pieces clearly. Small cloisters charming but the surprise lies in the museum in the basement: a surprisingly large collection of artifacts brought back from the missionaries from places like China and Egypt. Fell in love with the posters of Hell from 18-19 c Chinese prints, and the silky garments made for catholic liturgical use by local Chinese believers. They even have a mummy from Egypt to boot! At the entry of the larger cloister a note posted the revelation experienced by Camus at the very spot - what a nice surprise.

A must visit when in Fiesole. A steep uphill walk to get to it. Great view point over looking the surrounding area & Florence. Before the final walk up to the convent itself.
