St. Lawrence is the Cathedral Church of Nuremberg with twin bell towers. It is located in Alstadt very center surrounded with many market stalls. Church is free to enter with tall classic Gothic arches inside with very few stained glass. WWII devastations miraculously spared the twin towers which only endured minor damages

Gothic masterpiece church dominating southern part of old town was built over the period of 2 centuries from 1250 to 1477. It was burnt out at the end of WW2 and reconstructed in 1952. Artwork was preserved in underground bunkers prior to bombings, so wooden rosary with suspended in mid-air figures and stain glass are original to medieval period.

Almost a twin of the St Sebald (might be?) but with it's own architectural marvel. In a large market square with farmer market and many open square restaurants

We didn’t have the chance to go inside, as a concert was taking place at the time of our visit. A nice zoo with impressive constructions and a variety of species. However, almost everything is in German. Only the titles of the species are in English and nothing else. Very difficult to learn something or listen to one of the tours and demonstrations if you are not a German speaker.

Nice, clean, and well maintained zoo. The animals seem to be happy, except the tiger, which has too little space. I felt really bad when people kept smoking (many) and throwing things to animals, I wish there were staffs there to educate these people.

My wife and I visit the Tiergarten for many years at least once a week. It’s easily one of the most beautiful, most impressive zoos in all of Europe. Animals like the harpy, the Mishmi takins, the mossy frogs and the blue tree monitor are endangered species and not easily found in other European zoos. The habitats are intricately conceived to resemble the natural spaces of animals and meet their needs and preferences. Wandering across the vast landscape zoo is simply one of the most entertaining and informative adventures Nuremberg offers.

The zoo is located on the mountainside so there is a lot of hiking involved in visiting it. It's also really big and has lots of trees, sometimes you feel like going through a forest only to reach another animal enclosure. There are also some rare animals here like polar bears. The only problem I had with it was the program, the feeding times overlap with other points of the program. I guess it's to have people decide so none of them are really crowded and for the people to avoid running around the zoo, but if you are here as a tourist it kinda sucks since you won't be able to see them all unless you arrive here early in the morning at stay till 4pm

If you're interested in visiting giraffes and dolphins like me, now is not a good time to visit Nurnberg Zoo; however, your visit will still be enjoyable.

Great so many animals to see. Great value and tram takes you there easily. Best value via a Nurenberg Card 48hr ticket. Seeing free flying bats and a fabulous tiger was amazing plus the fish. Allow at least 4 hours to see all.

I have a pleasant visit in this zoo,with a lot of places to see. The animals looks and are pretty happy Í think because they have a lot of space where they actually live. What I notice also our presence there make them feel good and not lonely. Good job Nürnberg Zoo keep the good work!

We did the 40 minute group tour and found it interesting and informative. It is cold and wet inside so appropriate clothing and footwear is a must. Also, be prepared for a long walk. There is paid parking outside the caves and the max duration to park is 2.5 hours. There is a café at the exit. It also sells a few souvenirs.

The best place to visit near Nuremberg, amazing atmosphere, Nature at its best, chilly inside the cave with a lot of stones made of water drops over the year and one was 2000 years old. The guided tour with the German and English language and the guide was super nice. The ticket price was just 9 euros for adult, it was around 45 mins of tour inside the cave. Once in a lifetime experience for me. Deutschland Ticket works there in Schmetterling Busses. What are you waiting for?

It's wonderful! I'd recommend a guided tour and warm clothes. Not for disabled people. Lots of stairs and tight on several parts of the way. Absolutely worth it. Dogs are allowed.

We visited on a Sunday, early afternoon. It wasn't overly crowded. The tour guide also spoke in English. It was worth the trip. It was a good experience. After exiting the cave, you can enjoy a nice refreshment at the cafe, go for a hike, or visit the coaster park (up the mountain). We were very pleased.

Great fun and very unique cave! The audio- and visual effects inside were fun too - and the exit outside of the cave was almost magical! Really beautiful grassy and moss-covered rock formations and mountain cliffs. Beautiful sight, our kids had fun here!

This cave is a Nice place to visit. with Kalk Deposits for over 1000s of years this place is unique to see. Cannot use Kinderwagon, babies need to be carried. Some paths are very very narrow . Only guided tour as per slot (in German) . Parking in Automat. View after the tour was also amazing (autumn season) 9 euro ticket for adults. Will be very interesting for kids.

Very interesting but the display of the cars was a bit boring, old fashioned. The artefact and the parafernalia displays were very nice. I wanted to pay with an EU debit card and at first they did not accept it. Once they realized I had no other means of payment it was okay. All by all I have learned a lot about the Maybach company.

consist of one floor and includes the history of Maybach creation and the development through the years till the destruction of the workshop in 1945. the rooms are wide with informations on all the big and luxury Maybach which once existed. motor engines and collectibles are there also to see. a collection of famous express bicycles and motorcycles is there. souvenirs, cafe and a cinema is available. dont miss it.

The museum is great. Anyone interested in old cars and aviation with Zeppelins has come to the right place. Entrance fee of 9.50 euros is just about okay. However, parts of the museum are not heated. Be sure to dress warmly in winter. A room temperature that was 3 or 4 degrees higher wouldn't have been bad. No credit cards accepted, only debit cards. December 2023

I guess it is over rated; though there was some nice vintage cars, but the museum is relatively small. I was expecting to see some new cars. There are some interesting facts though, about the bike industry and patents, and also the war tanks industry. The video related to the Hindenburg disaster and the crash of the Zeppelin in the US in 1937, was really touching!

I expected more cars. The documentary about Zeppelin was interesting.

What makes it magical is its two semicircular arches, which—paired with their bright reflections in the Vils—form the appearance of giant spectacles hovering on the water. It connects the former Electoral Palace (Kurfürstliches Schloss) on one bank with the old armory (“Zeughaus”) on the other. In the late 1500s, additional towers and stacked upper floors were built by court architect Hans Hauck. These were removed in 1698, giving the Stadtbrille its current elegant silhouette. Uniquely, this water gate is considered the “fifth city gate”, complementing the city’s wall gates. A third central arch—long forgotten—was rediscovered and reopened in 1996 during restoration efforts. A photogenic gem, especially at night when illuminated—perfect for that iconic “glasses” reflection shot alongside St. Martin’s Basilica.

Bring your offroad shoes, you will have 20 mins hiking on some mud roads. Beautiful rocks, and nice path. Ticket is 6€, and parking is 3€ for cars. Definitely I will come here with my family, and will spend 2 hours minimum.

It's always amazing rock labyrinth for me... I always love to come and enjoy the nature.

Second time visiting here and going through the labyrinth. Many tight spaces between rocks that you have to squeeze your way though, but nothing overly difficult. Can be a bit muddy in some of the narrow areas after it rains, so might be best to avoid going if it recently rained a lot. The main trail is easily doable in under 2hrs, however there are some cool side trails leading to outlooks and structures that are worth doing. Overall a cool experience.

You need to pay to park and pay an entrance fee, but I think it’s worth it. Gorgeous hiking trails and unexpected rock crevices. The rock formations are very cool. Would recommend hiking shoes / good sneakers.

We visited with our kids (13 & 11) who loved exploring the area by themselves. There are two main routes through - one up, and one down. We were there on a quiet day, but still felt as if we were trying to find our own space and pace on the routes. I imagine when it’s busier that it may feel a little rushed. I don’t recommend doing the route if you’re not able to squeeze through small spaces or remain bent down to get through rocky tunnels. Good grippy shoes recommended. A few benches to stop and admire the surroundings and some great views from the elevated lookout spots. The car park is large and there’s a cafeteria style place at the entrance/exit for something to eat and drink. Recommended if you want to exercise the kids and give them some natural adventure time.

Cool place for hikers of all ages... bring water because the course is pretty long...

Amazing place. Beautiful to trees and huge stones. Liked it a lot. On some spots you have to squeeze yourselves through some narrow spots between the stones. That's something to keep in mind though. But that made it more fun for us also... Time wise, it takes about 1,5 to 2 hours to get through completely ...

Interesting park! Soos Nature Reserve A nature reserve, curiosity and European rarity in one! The Soos National Nature Reserve lies not far from Františkové Lázně. The vast peat bogs with lakes, mineral springs and gaseous carbon dioxide springs are reminiscent of a prehistoric landscape. The most interesting places include a nature trail that leads directly above the bogs along meandering wooden walkways. You can see a natural geological park, a museum dedicated to the local nature, the history of the Earth and an exhibition of life-size models of prehistoric animals. It also shows the flora and fauna endemic to this species due to the specific geological conditions of the soil and subsoil.

A far cry from the Yellowstone but peaceful and interesting. Dogs are welcomed. Also, very close to the German border so, if you're in Germany, and you miss good food, this is a good excuse to come visit and go eat afterwards.

Beautiful piece of Carlsbad's region. The way is approximately 1.5km long and along the way there are some pieces of information about the place. It is more than suitable for family and it costs only 90Kč per person.

The musical fountain was opened in May 2025 after reconstruction. It is very beautiful. We were there at 7 pm.

Set in a beautiful park with statues and fountains this would have been the icing on the cake but unfortunately it stopped on 1st September and doesn’t start up again until next May.

Three sources to get magnesium extra doses and more…Edward cafe is very chic but you can also get a bottle of Don Perignon for 25.000csk a bit further down in the next cafeteria further down in the city. Fancy little kiosks in the source drink hall, cash point, great body care natural products for a gift, historical reference source beautifully presented with a modern interior. All we missed was a proper restaurant nearby: only coffee, ice cream and maybe minor snacks don’t fit the beautiful view - where is a great lunch/dinner place nearby if it s not in one of the hotels which do not offer the view????

Beautiful place with amazing architecture and a really peaceful atmosphere. The musical fountain was closed during our visit, which was a bit disappointing, but overall I still liked it a lot. Great spot for a walk and try different spring waters.

Iconic and yet very gorgeous colonnade which represents the whole Marienbad. It is very similar like Carlsbad colonnade and what is very cute, that u can feel, that it is feminine-like architecture in its form and architectural accent. It is not worse nor bad, it is simply Marienbad icon, which represents the character of this place. The only thing which is bit sad is the flooring, which should be reconstructed and changed to some marble, limestone or other much higher quality material that will last. But by the end of the day, still beautiful.

Beautiful citi with so much history. We stayed at hotel Bohemia. Our stay was fabulous. Breakfast is included and it is tasty. Did not take pictures but they even include barista on premises.

We took a guided tour through the glassworks. We were shown how glass is blown in general, not more than that -- ain't anything special. How crystal is cut, how it is gilded and finished, getting its final magnificent look - this all is behind the scene, not included in a guided tour. The impression is spoiled by safety measures at the glassworks - workers work with liquid glass wearing worn-out open-toed shoes, wearing their dirtiest pants and tshirts that have long since served their time in the garage or garden. No hint of work uniform or modern protection gear, and while the guide assured that there are no accidents at the factory, one worker had his forearm in bandages.

The guide was excellent (speaking great English). The tour took us through the factory and on to the museum. Leaving you free to browse the retail outlet if you were interested.

We went on the English tour and it was fascinating! We got to see the workers blowing and shaping hot glass into a vase. Our guide was great, offering interesting explanations to our group of 15. The tour ended with a 15-minute video about the interesting history of the Moser family. Highly recommend!

The Moser Museum where you must to visit when you come to Karlovy Vary. Because Czech is very famous about the full-color glass with cup, toy, collection,... But the price is very high for buying one cup. You can study and explore the process of creating glass, it's great for everyone and kids.

A visit to the Moser museum glass factory is well worth the trip. Although the factory is small, we had an english speaking tour guide who explained every aspect of the process in detail. The tour ended in the shop where you could buy various items handmade in the factory. They were quite expensive, however, after seeing that every piece is handmade it is understandable why.

Diana Observation Tower is a must-see attraction in Karlovy Vary! Not only does it offer stunning panoramic views of the city and surrounding forests, but the entire area is peaceful and beautifully maintained. The Diana Observation Tower is one of the most beautiful spots in Karlovy Vary! The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking — you can see the entire town surrounded by lush green hills. The ride up by funicular is scenic and relaxing, and there’s a lovely forest walk if you prefer hiking. The café near the tower is cozy and perfect for a short break. A must-visit place for anyone coming to Karlovy Vary!

Beautiful 360 degree view of the region. There's also a small, budget-friendly kiosk selling street food and drinks in front of the tower. If you don't have any serious limitations, I suggest getting a one-way ticket. Take the funicular up and walk down while enjoying the view. Observation tower itself is free. You pay for the funicular.

Beautiful walk, you can also owe the monorail to go up and the tower has an elevator. I drank a beer at the restaurant down. And visited the butterflies museum!

Beautiful way to look at Karlovy Vary. Keep in mind that during fall/winter times fog is a quite often guest so you won't see much till around midday. Worth visiting, free and well-maintained observation point with a restaurant nearby

Great place to visit and relax while drinking spring-water. On the vacation season there are classic music concerts going on in the afternoons. Totally worth going in the day and night, and it’s also safe to go alone, while there was no strange activity even if that is an ald city centre.

Absolutely beautiful placeThe Mill Colonnade is one of the highlights of Karlovy Vary elegant architecture, peaceful surroundings, and a true symbol of the city's spa culture. We loved walking through the colonnade, sipping the mineral waters from the different springs (each with its own taste and temperature). The atmosphere is calming, and the sculptures representing the months of the year add a lovely artistic touch.It’s amazing how you can feel the history all around you. Definitely a must-visit when you're in Karlovy Vary!

.There are a number of colonnade Buy a special cup before, it has the list of all the springs. You don't have to do all of them... The last one is in the museum and underground tour building. Must buy tickets for the underground tour.

A very beautiful place, especially in the evening. There are also concerts and musicians there to listen to.

Impressive building, with toilet. We didn't take the water though. There were many stalls along the road selling the special mugs to drink the warm water.

That said, it’s still a must-see. You can also learn some interesting facts inside—like how the local mineral water is used to produce unique stone souvenirs by letting minerals slowly solidify over time. Definitely worth a quick visit as part of your spa town experience!

The hottest spring reaches 72°C, shooting up to nearly 10 meters high. Built in the 19th century with a filtration system, the water here can be safely enjoyed straight from the source. Karlovy Vary is a super peaceful little hilly town with beautiful landscape. Super amazing place..so many hot springs..do not forget to take a vessel with u to drink that natural mineral water.. it's tingy but good for health. Beautiful cafes along the river Tepla serving great food.

I rarely give 5 stars to anywhere but this place is fabulous. Top sight in Klatovy. It’s very modern with good explanatory information. A few video reels as well. The mummies are amazing. Most preserved I’ve ever seen a yet in the world. As they explain, it’s natural mummification because of the hot dry atmosphere. A must see in Klatovy. Loved the exhibit, which was well organized and full of interesting history. My only concern was the lady at reception who was unprofessional. Older lady who seemed easily offended. Felt the need to intimidate me for no apparent purpose.

The Pilsen Zoo is one of the best in the Czech Republic. The territory is very large, well-maintained, and green — perfect for walks. The collection of animals, reptiles, insects, and plants is impressive and diverse, making it interesting for both adults and children. There are playgrounds, convenient infrastructure, cafés, and small shops. A great place for a family day out.

Great non crowed zoo. The place was clean and lots of things to do. It was my first time at any zoo that I have seen lions ans bears up close and active. They also have a great Dinosaur park, you have to pay extra but overall very affordable.

Despite the rain, this zoo visit was absolutely worth it! The living and maintenance conditions for the animals’ welfare are a huge plus. The zoo is spacious, clean, and well-organized for both visitors and animals. Besides admiring various animals, it’s also very informative and educational. There are plenty of toilets and resting spots to enjoy a snack. It’s a very large zoo, and you’ll need almost half a day to see everything. I couldn’t see it all, but that just invited me to come back again. On all points, a well-deserved 5 stars!

I have visited zoo's across many countries. This one is an average one. No elephants and the setup for the animals too is not so great. The only highlight would be the lions at the entrance. So I would prefer visiting other ones like an actual biopark rather than zoo that has very less animals. It will not take more than 2 hours to cover entire place. Not sure why others have quoted that it takes more time!!

Very good experience overall. The Dino park is very childish and small and is only good for children but it is very expensive. Don't waste your money for the Dino park. The zoo is beautiful and has lots of snack bars around. Quite big and we needed about 5 hours plus as there are many many animals to admire. The lemurs are the best as they roam freely around you. That alone got our money back which is very fun! The birds look the most unhealthy in the zoo as the cages have been built too low. The birds are not able to fly at all. The leopard mother is very fierce but her 2 cubs are extremely adorable. Recommended to go if you are in that area!

It is a very nice zoo. We love giraffes and lions and tigers! The most awesome, though, we find the dinosaurs! The food at the dinopark was not very good, we will try some other place next time. The toilets were clean and easy to find.

Stumbled into this church while visiting Plzen town square and it was quite beautiful. Church is free but tower is 110CZ pp. Didn’t make it up to the tower this time but I imagine the view of square will be best from there! Chanced upon a choir performance during my visit!

We visited this church this past weekend while visiting the Pilsen Christmas Markets. A beautiful cathedral in the center of the Pilsen Square. Recently renovated over the past few years. We did not go up to the bell tower, but the views from the top must be amazing.

We skipped the tour with regrets. The tour is 50 min and you get a lot more access to explore the ruins. If you have the time spend the little extra and fully enjoy this incredible site.

This castle ruin is easily accessible from the center of the town Rabí. The parking now costs 100 Kč per car, guided tour 160 Kč per person, discounted 130 Kč. We chose limited unguided walk for 50 Kč as we were pressed for time. The short access directly to the ticket booth and castle gate is extremely uneven and steep, full of jutting stones and slippery on a rainy day when we were there. Once you get in, the walking gets much easier, as there are more level dirt paths and maintained grass areas. Inside the restored horse stable was a nice photo exhibition of Šumava localities. When you are done here, consider a stop at the well known restaurant in the town square.

Really excellent castle tour for a class of 4th graders. The guide was super knowledgable (and also spoke excellent English). Fascinating history, lovely ruins, and beautiful views even on a rainy day…

The largest castle ruin complex in Czechia. To see more than the first courtyard, you need to pay quite a steep entry fee of 150 CZK/person, which also includes a 40 minute long tour guide in Czech. The tour starts at the precise time, no matter what the weather conditions, which can be harsh if it's windy or rainy (remember, it's a ruin). Our guide was a bit rough around the edges and sometimes shouted at the kids or adults in the group to stay quiet, but I personally enjoyed his no BS character. Overall interesting, but I couldn't find the price justifiable, because the complex gets enough visitors and doesn't aim to restore the castle into its full original state.

Castle ruins in a beautiful state with a great location above the city. Well seen from around the city as well as great views from the castle over the surrounding area. Only the inner court and the old stables can be visited without a tour. Various tours are offered (here even in English) to see all of the remaining buildings of the castle you need to book various tours. Due to time limitations we only could take the palace tour. Would definitely visit again to explore the rest of the site.

Impressive chateau and hotel. You can walk around the outside and grounds for free, or take the guided tours with two options. We walked outside, very helpful staff took our photos very well. Steep paths and deep valley at the rear. Large main car park. There are two entrances from the road, one is only just wide enough for a car and great care is needed to avoid the pillars, our motorhome is 2.35m wide and wouldn’t pass through on the way out so we had to turn around. If it had been a busy day that would have caused chaos.

My husband and I spent nearly 2 weeks in the Czech Republic and Chateau Zbiroh was our favorite hotel. We have told several friends and family that they MUST include a stay at Chateau Zbiroh when they travel to the Czech Republic. We loved getting outside of the bigger cities and enjoying the serenity of the woods. We booked the Zámecké pokoje deluxe podkrovní Castle Rooms deluxe attic Breakfast & Dinner package. It included breakfast and dinner daily, an indoor tour of the chateau, and two 1-hour spa visits. We also opted to do the outdoor tour of the medieval part of the hotel. The lady who checked us in was so pleasant and friendly. The process was easy and seamless. The room was spacious. Windows could be open to let in fresh air. We had an AC unit but did not try it. There wasn't a shower, just a tub with a shower head and extendable hose (typical for Europe). The furniture was well-made and appropriate for a castle without feeling antiquated. There was a small mini-bar and fridge. No coffee maker, tea kettle, or ironing. Robes and slippers were provided. Free parking. For guests, parking was just outside the reception area. Our meals at Chateau Zbiroh were BY FAR THE BEST meals we ate during our nearly three week trip. I am salivating just thinking about the apple strudel and chocolate cake. At dinner our package enabled us to choose two dishes, any combo, for free. Drinks were extra. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. From pastries to cold cuts to eggs and bacon - there was plenty to choose from. Do yourself a favor -- if you don't buy the dinner package --- make sure you eat at the restaurant at least once. It is divine. The waitresses were very friendly and the customer service was top notch. The spa was a unique experience. My husband wasn't too excited about it but it was just us and situated in a really unique location. You can also order massage services (we didn't). The chateau tours were conducted in Czech but had English audio guides. The indoor tour was at 10:00 am. The Czech tour guide was excellent and we could tell she was giving a lot more information than on our audioguide. So that could probably be improved. The audio guide for the outdoor castle tour was excellent! I believe it was relatively new but it had a plethora of information and we didn't feel like we were missing out at all. We used our own cell phones (so make sure to have your own headphones). It worked off the castle wifi as I didn't have cell service abroad. The outdoor tour is seasonal and was at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. There are several walking paths through the woods around the castle. We loved taking morning and evening strolls. It felt like we were in a fairy tale.

It’s a place where history, legend, and comfort meet. Even without photos, you can feel the powerful energy of this fortress of three emperors.

We had an amazing minimoon weekend here, with a three night stay package. The staff were wonderful, the hotel room was beautiful and the food was out of this world! Plus meeting Mikeš, the castle cat, was a highlight!

Price 2x more than standart restaurant - ok, it's epic castle restaurant... It was very crowded because of holiday. I waited 30mins for today menu. After I ask I find out they delivered my order to different table. When I wanted to pay, the wait time was another 20minutes.

Truly incredible and beautiful castle which is within an hour from Prague without the traffic. We had amazing time a day trip. In the castle you have options depending on your interest and time availability. We took 100 minutes which was in czech language the tour included the whole castle. There is the shorter version too I think 45 minutes. Our tour guide Libor was full of interesting stories, facts and pure history. It was very informative and educating and many things to see inside the castle. Totally worth it and the time passed quickly. Many thanks to him. The castle has few options: shops with wooden decorations, gingerbread, souvenirs, cafe shop and restaurant. The best part was that it was not busy at all, very relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for a Sunday trip from Prague by train. Not suitable for wheelchair users. The whole castle tour is 340CZK and it takes 100 minutes. Lots of souvenirs and opportunities to eat around. Many walking paths through forest and hills.

Founded back in 12th century, this castle is tightly linked with the history of the Czech state. Set in deep forests and close to the Berounka river Křivoklát castle is well worth a visit any time.

When you arrive at the location you are required to take a guide. Everything would be fine, except the guide only speaks the local language, Czech, so you don’t understand anything at all and they refuse to speak English. As if that weren’t enough, you are forced to follow them, you cannot visit on your own. The castle is empty, it has no furniture at all, just empty halls. All in all, DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE – the staff are hostile and the location has nothing worthwhile to see.

This is a very old castle, very well preserved. Off course because of the fires it was rebuilt multiple times. You can enter and have a Czech visit. Or you can scan a qr-code and download a pdf with translation. But the translation does not have so much details like the guide gives I recommend to visit and hike in the area around.

Just one hour away Prague Just a little over an hour from Prague, easily reachable by car or train, you’ll find a beautiful castle and park perfect for the whole family. Blatná Castle is one of the best-preserved water castles in the Czech Republic, once owned by the noble Rožmitál and Hildprandt families. Surrounded by a 42-hectare park with freely roaming deer and peacocks, it’s a charming year-round destination, and with a cozy café right at the castle (and several nearby), it’s definitely worth a stop.

Nice place for a weekend entertainment. Medieval castle and a big forest/park with many deers, alpacas and peacocks. Previously, it was possible to feed the deers and they were walking on the yard closer to the castle, but now they are located mainly in the forest and not coming close to the people.

Great experience, especially with kids. The deers were very friendly and kept coming to us. Bring them carrots and they will never leave you alone. There is food to be bought there but it ran out quickly and it was never filled up again.

Blatná park is a beautiful and peaceful place for a walk. I really liked the mix of nature and history, with old trees, little streams, and freely roaming deer. It feels spacious and never too crowded. The only downside is that access with a stroller or wheelchair is limited to one entrance. Overall, it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

A beautiful memorial site to remember the victims of the tragic event that occurred here on 10 June 1942. We all have a responsibility to ensure events like this never occur ever. I recommend visiting this memorial.

Having both Czech and German ancestors it is unbelievable to me how cruel people can be, being so similar to each other. This is one of those important places everybody should visit from time to time to never forget what can happen if we fall for political parties that make us believe some human beings are less important than others.

Such a beautifully maintained and respectful memorial to the events here in June 1942. We visitedvtge memorial exhibition at the side before and after walking around the site and this was a good idea as it gave us an insight before and then clarification after. His passion reinforces everything that us good about visiting the darker places of history. Thank you Jan! The children's memorial is the most poignant and powerful I think I have ever seen.

If you love Prague, you should visit the Lidice Memorial, at least once in your life. It’s the tragic history of revenge, of the Nazi’s, after the assassination of Heidrich, in Prague. The Nazi’s decided to completely erase the village of the two brave Czech troupers. Men were killed, women deported, and the children were first deported and then killed. And the then the village was erased, asif it never had existed.

A beautiful memorial. Its a lovely tranquil place and the silence and what appears absence of the wildlife here, enhances the emotions that are felt. My son left a teddy at the child's memorial, and there are candles and lanterns. We didn't visit the museums but walked the friendship and peace gardens and through to the children of war memorial. Dogs are welcome kept on a lead and there are plenty of bins but bring bags to keep the place clean.

A very sad place. I have been here many times to pay respect. Lidice was destroyed by the Nazi’s during WWII after Reinhard Heydrich was killed (died from his wounds related to assassination attempt on his life in Prague). The Children of Lidice statue and memorial is one of the most powerful and sad statues in the world that I have come across. To think humans can kill children is just beyond words.

Intense experience but absolutely worthwhile to make a visit. The memorial does honor to the horror that occurred here. The memorial is peaceful and expansive due to the large open space and walking trail that leads you through the grounds. Be prepared for some emotions.

A really beautiful and lovely medieval castle with a rich history. It is quite a walk uphill from the train station or the car park, but it is definitely worth it: the castle is just amazing. You can visit the courtyard for free, but you can enter the castle only with the guided tour. I recommend to buy the tickets in advance, as it is likely they will sell out at least in peak season.

Tour of CZK300 per person for Charles IV apartment, went on November weekend but wasn’t too crowded (was able to get tickets upon arrival for a tour starting in 10 min). Note chapel is closed in winter and that’s the main attraction here. The tour wasn’t very informative about the history and felt a little rushed - would be okay to skip. The view of castle is very nice on the walk up from village and castle grounds are quite nice too (even the free accessible parts). Took about 45 min-1 hour each way from Prague + 30 min walking between village and castle.

Nice castle. You can take the train S7 from Prague main station to this castle. Which runs every 30 minutes during most of the day. The train station is just a 7 minute walk from the beautiful high street of the tiny town, with many f&b option. The street then leads to the steep incline to the castle, and it’s a 10 minute walk - lots of children make it up as well - so shouldn’t be an issue. The views from the castle are brilliant. There is a short 5 minute video with English subtitles being played in a small room below the visitor center and it is interesting. Recommended…!

First time doing a level 3 tour (small group of 6, all family members) that allowed us to see the castle in its entirety and on much more personal level. It was about 3 hours long. We had tickets bought in advance, online, no wait to get in.

I loved Karlštejn. The castle has an amazing history. Yours are both in English and in Czech. All the staff at the castle was super friendly and we even made friends with the local blacksmith. We had a really lovely time and highly recommend the castle as just outside of Prague adventure.

There is designated paid parking and transport at a cost up to the castle. Although steep at times you can walk through the town and shops up to the castle, we drove up and walked down. There are various guided tours with different sections of the castle. Book in advance to plan your trip if you want to do more than one tour. More shops operate during peak season in summer. A few shops where open, October. Would recommend the Snack Place for something to eat and drink, with a view of the castle and the Antique shop. We did the basic tour.

The tickets can be bought online. If you have the possibility, make sure to choose the tour including the castle's chapels. The breathtaking gilded interior of the St. Cross Chapel is absolutely amazing.

Bad don’t go cost 900kč for a family you want to go to the top 150kč more. The books and things were faker than Facebook photos. The only thing good was the price of the wander cards. But there are broken windows.And the bathrooom is broken and the bathroom is confusing is the men’s bathroom on the left or right?Oh and “handmade” ice cream is 50kč it’s not even handmade. Been here numerous times. It's close to where I stay with family. The castle only has one tour. It's been the same tour for 20+ years. I love going back none the less. Beautiful views over the Vltava river. Gardens and you can even get on a boat tour here. You can Go from Orlík to Zvíkov on the boat. They do one way or round trips. A couple of cafes here at Orlík as well. And the village has great restaurants and cafe bars as well. I highly recommend this area. It is one of my favorites. Also, this is one of the Castles you can not take pics inside.

Great castle!! And only like one hour from Prague. But I would say it's better to go somewhere from the opposite side so you can have the view of the castle or rent a boat. 🙂

I really liked the castle and surrounding area. The tour inside the castle is guided only, which I'm not a fan of but I was told our guide was very good and made some nice jokes too. (I don't speak Czech, but of course information sheets are given out in other languages that explain the rooms, you just miss out on the jokes). No photos allowed inside the castle, but there are beautifully styled rooms, large collection of shotguns and deer antlers. Even one that was shot by Franz Ferdinand!

Quiet town, and very beautiful riverside views! Just an hour’s drive from Prague, it is ideal place for hiking and visiting with family or friends on weekends.

The first impression of any business are its employees. Not all of us speak Czech, so we asked the host to tell us the rules in English and her answer was just NO. I would maybe understand if she said I am sorry I don't speak English or tried to find help or use google translate or anything really, but her answer was just plane NO. Fortunately we had people in our team who understood some Czech. Just wondering what would happened if we didn't have a native speaker in our team. She was so eager to tell the rules as fast as possible and to go back to her post. As for the games we spent around 4 hours playing and still it wasn't enough to finish everything. There were so many games, some of them very physical and not so easy, so you would need more then few atempts

Took a group of 40 students here. The staff just didn't seem to care, they gave us written instructions and walked away. The lunch selections were poor, and they expected the students to serve themselves, not very realistic! Teachers ended up serving the food. There was never any communication from the staff to the students about who had won, or any follow up to the game itself. Long way to go for nothing too interesting

Great experience, many challenging rooms, and each requiring little different set of skills. We had a lot of fun during competing the other teams. It was worth the travel to the quite detached location. Only issue was that we didn't fully understood the rules before the game and had to repeat the first room several times before understanding how to correctly initiate the game and how to finish. So learn all before not to loose time as the game is paid by play time. Recommended.
