This is one of the most popular beaches in Sardinia. The water is clean and transparent. We went off-season (mid-October) and were positively surprised that they don`t charge for parking now. Better arrive early in the morning because an hour later the parking was almost full. The weather in October turned out to be perfect for beach time - less crowds and more parking space. Another positive surprise is that they did not charge us for a beach towel mat - there was no one to look after this. Also being off-season we did not have to make a reservation and just popped-up. The beach is suitable for families with children - no waves, calm water. Totally recommend but come here in October.

Nice beach without many people like on LaPelosa. It’s very clean with small bar available. We were here end of May and nothing to pay for the parking, not sure about the prices of umbrellas as we hit the day very there has been some issue with lifeguard so we couldn’t rent any (not sue the dependency of having or rather not little shadow on the beach vs lifeguard missing). The entrance to the water is deeper quickly (1.2m - 1.3m deep with few steps) however water is crystal clear, some small rocks st the bottom so good for snorkeling. Following the signs one feel like you are driving into the back yard of a farm but this is the entrance to the beach. When you reach the beach car parking area continue driving to the right until you find a less crowded section. There is a lot of car parking space and you are right behind the beach itself. Exit is up a dirt hill and out on another road so there are no traffic issues between arriving and leaving. The beach is busy but you can find space and enjoy a beautiful place

Take in mind that there’s not much parking available, the ticket cost 14€, toilet service is not included. Tours start every hour and the gates at the top are open 30-20 minutes before. Once at the beginning of the cave you wait in line once again to get tickets checked and there is also a whole other group waiting to get in that came by boat. So once inside the guide does a great job, but on the 500 meter slow stroll through narrow path you listen to basic info in two languages, about the cave that is the same all over the world. Amazing caves that are 65 million years old. Really a must see if you are in the area. First you must tackle the 654 steps along the side of the cliffs down and back up. You get an entrance time with your ticket (every 30 mins) and it takes about 15 mins to walk down. Then you must wait for the guided tour for entry, which is in Italian and English. Overall, we spent 1.5 hours in total. Better to book in advance during the high season. We arrived on a Sunday late morning in September and were able to get a ticket without booking for the 11:30 entrance time. There is no parking at the entrance so you have to walk or go to the free parking areas and pay for the shuttle bus.

The cave itself was gorgeous but not as much as the the walk to get there, which is total of 654 stair steps one way. For someone who doesn’t walk a lot on a daily bases, this trip might be a bit challenging- so make sure you grab a bottle of water with you. Ticket price is 14€ for adults. Less for students and kids. Going down the stairs i recommend staying behind everyone to enjoy the views at your own pace (and to take pictures without tourists in background). For whatever reason people rushed to the cave instead of taking in the views along the way.. Once you reach the cave, the guide will wait for everyone to start. Then I would suggest to squeeze in at the start so you’re one of the first to leave the cave after the tour. That way you can walk back up without waiting behind everyone, cause most people will be slow.

We attempted to visit twice but it was closed at short notice for safety reasons even with a confirmed ticket - we believe it’s a beautiful grotto but it is tide/water conditions dependent, you need a bit of luck to see it. Today 02/09/25 is a calm and sunny day and we could not access it. Arrive 40 mins before you booked time and factor in the 30 minute walk from the car park.

If you want to go there, make sure you are there early enough, so you can find a good place for your umbrella. We got there with a bus from Alghero (9321 I think for 2.50 euro for one direction).

The Grotte is a wonderful sight to see (price is completely seperate to the boat ride out and my experience is that you are told this) I have seen dolphins on 2 trips out to the Grotte and Steps. The crew on Debora are great. Very welcoming and hospitable. Coffee and refreshments are served on board ☕️

Piazza d'Italia is the main square of Sassari. it is dominated by the neo-Classical Palazzo della Provincia. There are plenty of places to enjoy a drink and admire the surroundings. It comes alive at night. Maybe it's just me but the square just seemed too polished and modern and didn't really impress.

This is most likely the largest and most central square in Sassari. Many of the buildings surrounding it are from the late 19th century, done in a grandiose style by a re-emerging Italy after the unification of the country in 1870. There are many restaurants, eateries and cafés on the square and in the vicinity. The square comes alive in the evening.

Nice beach but full of rocks, check wind before you go

Had great time, black sand. Left side is calmer and right side is wilder. 🏄🏻‍♂️🌊 The shower is available what is great and you can have a snack in beach bar.

Cute beach with nice cafes and not too many tourists. We had a fun day despite the wind and high waves - on other days it’s perfectly calm!

For scuba diving and snorkeling its perfect. Swimming also great, clean water, some time its windy and it has little waves. For children its perfect as well its isnt deep at all.

Soft sand, pure water, interesting underwater life (highly recommended to take snorkelling mask with you). The only downside - enormous number of people during high season

The sea was very shallow, the beach has thin sand and there was shower very close to the exit.

The castle looks good from the outside while inside only the panorama is beautiful. And there are no more attractions as for me. It is not worth the price.

Great views and rich history, just a bit touristy Castello dei Doria offers breathtaking views over Castelsardo and the sea—especially impressive on a clear day. The walk up through the old town is steep but beautiful. The castle itself is well preserved and has an interesting weaving museum inside. It can feel a bit touristy and crowded during peak times, but overall it’s a very worthwhile stop if you’re exploring the area.

Well worth the steep walk from the town park.it is possible to drive up to near tge castle or use the local shuttle bus. Well preserved and home of basket weaving .spectaclur views.

The Torre di Frigiano is beautifully lit at night, creating a magical and relaxing atmosphere. It would be great to extend the pedestrian walkway from Porto di Castelsardo to the Calisthenics park – it would make the evening stroll even more enjoyable

Coming from northeast you have a beautiful view towards the castello. The historic center is beautiful with its small paths and the Old buildings. We were there in February and enjoyed an almost empty area.

Nice little castle with amazing views over the colourful town and surrounding area. It's quite small but clean and tidy with a nice museum with a bit of history. Worth a look if your in the area. The town is quite nice.

So funny to see this rock shaped like an elephant, who knew there were elephants in Sardinia. There is some parking for about 10 cars by the side of the road. If you in the area its worth a look.

It's pretty cool for a short stop before Castalsardo. But be careful because sometimes it likes to dance around. 😉🐘

It is unbelivable how the likeness is this rock to an elephant! There was quite some people, but we enjoyed it!

Interesting rocky formation with pre-nuragic tombs. Could be better highlighted with more information / panels and with stricter rules for preservation / protection. Can be quite crowded for such a small POI.

Nice long beaches, not too crowdy.

This was our closest beach. Compared to others it's nothing special. But it is really long (and connected to the others) so it's rarely very crowded, which is a huge plus, especially in august!! The water is clear but starts with deeper right away. Also it is often windy and it gets seaweed. All in all, we really enjoyed it.

Beach is a bit steep and was always very windy with big waves when we got there so swimming wasn't really possible. Many parking spots for cheap (-,50€/h) available

Nice Sandy beach that runs for kilometers from West to East. Sea is shallow and not deep at all. The more you move towards east the least people you encounter. Towards Isola Rossa is stunning

Playa la Marineda it's a nice beach close to Isola Rosa. If you don't rent a car it's not easy to get to Isola Rosa from Alguero. We had to change 3 busses to get there and it took a whole day. Having this in mind, Isola Rosa and it's beaches are nice. You just need patience to get there 😂 There are some beautiful beaches around such as La Marineda. The wind blows pretty hard there so it's a good spot for surf. It's a nice and relaxing beach, big enough. Surrounded by rocks and green hills, this beach it's a great place for you to take pictures. Sunsets here are amazing. I recommend it if you visit Isola Rosa and it's beaches! Good food at affordable prices. You must try the pizza, ohh the pizza was delicious!! And the ice cream! Try the figue ice cream! Enjoy!! 😋

Basilica of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia took us by surprise on our road from Palau to Alghero Airport. We didn.t know about it, but it looked stunning so we had to stop. Visiting it, we found out that is one of the most important romanesque sites in the island, beeing constructed entirely in local stone since 1116. Just wow.

Worth a visit on the way to Sassari. The church is from the 12th century and resembles the Duomo di Sienna in style but with local limestone and basalt instead of marble. Tickets have to be bought got 3€ pP.

Beautifull church, in the "middle of nowhere". Next to the road, if you are going to Alghero from Palau. Next to the church there is a nice restaurant. Recommended stop ✌🏻

A very interesting church featuring remarkable dark and white stone from different outcrops on the island. Inside is a notable fresco that is worth seeing. There is also the ruins of the old convent Entrance is only €3

Amazing architecture, great just to wander around. You can buy tickets at the little shop to enter. We didn't so not sure of the state of the inside.

Nice spot by the road. Be careful, the parking lot is just a hole. We couldn't get inside; it was closed. We practically didn't encounter any tourists here. No tickets were needed.

We visited this place on the route from San Teodoro to Alghero and I must admit that it was worth it. It is one of the most important Romanesque monuments on the island. The structure is entirely made of local stone, with a typical Tuscan Romanesque appearance. Visiting for a small fee inside is possible from April to the end of October. Inside of the church is a small souvenir shop, and a cafe near the parking where we can drink coffee and eat a croissant.

Lovely location with access to beaches. Facilities basic but clean. Very busy site pitches are a bit of a free for all. WiFi works well which is a necessity as no mobile signal. Make sure you fill up with water before entering as no drinking water available once you reach the site. Moped or bikes recommend as getting in and out

A very nice and cozy beach . Not so crowdy . You pay €7 for all.day. There is a restaurant bar and pizzeria too. Price.a bit high but nice architecture . There is another beach on the other side side..A pity the weather was a bit overcast.

Bar with aperol spritz. one thing about the restaurant, they charged us for a pizza and when we asked about it half an hour later they claimed we hadn’t ordered… but whatever that’s nothing against the beach. just get receipt if you order something

Very nice sand beach with a pretty view. There is also a Bar/restaurant with friendly service and bathroom. The water was clear and the beach was very clean. You need to pay for the parking but the beach is free. We went by foot from Bosa: 2h walk but on the road so do not recommend for a big group or with kids!

Beautiful 3 beaches. Easy access to water and swimming just superb. It is a paid access beach , full day 7,50 and half day 5 euros. There is restaurant and a shop. No sun beds or umbrellas provided and not much shade so be prepared. The only downside we thought that the parking area is run down. There is some rubbish on the ground and the beach access area needs some maintenance. However, still a very nice area to stay by the sea!

Nice, shallow beach. Perfect for families with young children as it is safe for them to be in the water. Though the water was quite cold compared to other beaches we visited. Water was quite clear. Not the best beach, but you definitely can stop there for refresh.

Do you want an amazing view over Bosa? This is the place! When visiting beautiful Bosa, you should go to the castle on top of the hills – I promise you: the view is worth it! There are some steep stairs, so be aware if you have trouble with stairs. The castle itself isn't the most impressive or well-preserved I've seen, but the view makes it all worth it.

Well worth the walk up for the views of Bosa and out to the sea. The castle itself is ok. It is good to climb the tower and walk on top of the walls. Be warned, the steel steps up the tower are very steep and there are multiple. Be careful m, especially on the way down. The fresco in the church is in good condition and worth a quick visit. The entry fee was 5€.

Nice view over the city. The way up is just wonderful through the city with all the colored houses. The lady at the counter doesn’t speak any English, but no problem. Be careful cause there no restroom anywhere near, so keep that in mind and stop to a restaurant/bar before going up. :)

Must visit when visiting Bosa!!! It costs 5€ to enter the impressive castle. It is on top of the hill of Serravalle, be prepared for a long, steep staircase. It offers a spectacular view of the town and surroundings

Go for the spectacular views of Bosa and surroundings. Take it easy, some steep steps. The audio guide from download at ticket desk is worthwhile, although it goes into a lot of depth.

A visit to the castle has to be the highlight of a visit to Bosa. Parts of the castle have crumbled away, but many parts are still intact and you can walk around the ramparts and even climb to the top of the tallest tower if you have the courage to take on the steep steps!!! The views are breathtaking. Entrance costs a laughable €5. This includes entrance into the Chiesa di Nostra Signora de Sos Regnos Altos in the grounds with its frescoes dating back to the 1300s.

Excellent views in all directions from the castle. The church has some ancient frescos. The almond trees within the castle walls provide lovely shade. Toilets out of order.

A fairly normal beach that offers pleasant recreation, but is always quite busy and only along the edges you can find a piece of "wilderness". Snorkeling is boring.

Beautiful beach but plastic and micro plastic everywhere. Not surprisingly, there was not one single bin to find on the whole beach and parking...

Sometimes the sea is far from calm..

Minuses: smell of sewer for most of the day, dark sand doesn't make it beautiful and it's hot to walk on, seaweed in front of the water, no bar/kiosk on the beach, no toilets, very dirty walk to the beach (plastic). Pluses: clear water (although a belt of foam appeared later on), big free parking very close, it's very easy to stick your umbrella into the sand, the beach itself is quite clean, there's quite a lot of bins, not crowded, the sand is not super fine. The feeling on the beach wasn't very nice - it can't be compared to big beautiful white sand beaches on the south of the island. But it's probably the best in vicinity of Bosa. Visited in September.

Nice sandy beach with warm and clear water, maybe the best one next to Bosa. In August lots of people in the afternoon, but you can still find enough place for your stuff, however better to visit this place in the morning hours. Also suitable for families with younger children. In 2023 still free parking.
