We did a boat tour in the entire harbor area. It is an interesting tour with much information about the ships and the area. The tour is only in French language but you get a sheet with information to most of the visited spots.

(Translated by Google) The Toulon harbor is a harbor located on the French Mediterranean coast, in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. It is bordered by the Toulon-Provence-Méditerranée metropolitan area and includes the towns of Toulon, La Seyne-sur-Mer, and Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer. Used since antiquity by Greek and then Roman ships, it now houses the civilian and military port of Toulon. It is surrounded by several protective forts, such as the Fort of Six-Fours, still in use, as well as several others like the Fort of Balaguier, now decommissioned and constituting an important part of the military heritage. History Military confrontations, shipwrecks, and scuttling edit The harbor and its surrounding areas have been the scene of military clashes between France and various belligerents throughout the centuries. Notable battles include the Battle of Cap Sicié in 1744, the Siege of Toulon in 1793, and the Battle of the Hyères Islands in 1795. The harbor has also been the site of shipwrecks, such as that of La Lune, returning from a military expedition to North Africa in 1644, which resulted in the deaths of over 700 sailors and soldiers. It was also the location for the scuttling of the French fleet in November 1942, to prevent it from falling into German hands.

(Translated by Google) Cours Lafayette is a pedestrian street in downtown Toulon, lined with shops, mainly Tunisian restaurants/bakeries/cafés, street markets, and entertainment, connecting the port/old town area to the upper part of the city. It is considered the city's vibrant heart, a "Provençal mall" where people stroll, where stalls, meetings, exchanges, and the daily market are held. Cours Lafayette hosts one of the largest open-air markets in Toulon, stretching for nearly a kilometer, with stalls selling food, non-food products, flowers, local produce, and more. The Cours Lafayette market takes place every morning (except Mondays), from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for food and flower products, and in the afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the non-food street market. The avenue is also nicknamed "the cobblestone of love": in the past, the people of Toulon came to this street to stroll, chat, and wander. The singer Gilbert Bécaud, a native of Toulon, popularized the Cours Lafayette market in his song "Les Marchés de Provence." The former bishopric of Toulon is located on Cours Lafayette. The building in its current form dates from the reconstruction of 1786, and it served successively as a bishop's palace, then for administrative, educational, and cultural purposes. The Castel-Chabre department store was an institution on Cours Lafayette: established in 1894, it was located at numbers 71-77 of the street. It lasted until 2014 (approximately 120 years). Along the Cours, there are various old fountains, for example the "Basket Fountain," dating from 1939, which adorns the side of the courtyard. Poems are inscribed on two sides of its pedestal. The Cours Lafayette has borne this name since 1830. The "Provençal mail" style courtyard stands out from the surrounding medieval fabric: its developments (alignment, esplanades, shops, pedestrianization) make it more "modern" than the winding streets of the old town. Over the decades, the Cours Lafayette has undergone renovations and urban developments to pedestrianize it, accommodate the market, and integrate its heritage (fountains, facades, etc.). Ancient remains still exist beneath the course: according to Tripline, today, when walking along the Cours Lafayette, one walks on remnants of Toulon's medieval ramparts.

Toulon Cable Car Mt Faron

Mentioned on

Mountain cable car
Transportation
The Téléphérique du Mont Faron is an exhilarating cable car experience that takes you soaring to a height of 584 meters, offering stunning views of Toulon and the Mediterranean coastline. This modernized attraction features spacious cabins with large windows and even glass floors for an unforgettable ride. The ascent lasts just under six minutes, making it a quick yet breathtaking journey.
We visited during the shoulder season and practically had the place to ourselves — no lines at all, which made the experience even better. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative, taking the time to explain the route and sights. The ride up offers beautiful views of Toulon and the coastline. We didn’t spend a ton of time at the top since we were just passing through, but we enjoyed walking around the war memorial and taking in the scenery. Watching rock climbers scaling the cliffs was a nice surprise. Definitely worth the ride if you’re in the area — I imagine it gets crowded in peak season, but we loved the peaceful experience.
Kelly B — Google review
Nice mountain to catch a bird's eye view of Toulon. Despite the overcast sky, the views were great. The queue to the cable car was rather long... took us about 2 hours to get to our turn cos there as a short lunch break for the operators. Everyone was patient though. It is best to allocate half a day for this sightseeing as the journey itself takes time. There are places of interest at the top and this could easily take a couple of hours if you want to enjoy the moment.
Dorge R — Google review
We were here early, as the queues grow fast. I would recommend coming early. Especially in a warm / hot day. Cables are smooth and fast to climb or return down mountain. Beautiful views from cable car, and amazing at the top looking down onto Toulon. Highly recommended.
Stuarty B — Google review
A cool spot! I went on Saturday, and there were absolutely no lines or crowds. The whole visit from beginning to end took about an hour, since both the war museum/memorial at the top and the restaurant were closed so wasn’t sure what else to do in there rather than to admire the view. But the ride itself was magnificent, and the scenery truly left me in awe. I also walked all the way from the city centre - it’s a bit uphill, but overall a good walk (about 2 km), very doable.
Jevgenia V — Google review
Visited Toulon via cruise ship voyager and if you choose to do anything in Toulon make this your priority! It was a 30 minute walk from the port to cable car, €9 for a return trip, the views of Toulon are absolutely stunning, if you enjoy hiking there are numerous trails from the top, we simply took the trip and soaked in the panorama on a beautiful day.
Helen J — Google review
The Mountain Above the Sea – Mont Faron Rising high above the harbor city of Toulon, Mont Faron isn’t just a mountain — it’s a silent guardian that has watched over the Mediterranean for centuries. But getting to its summit isn’t a climb — it’s a glide. A bright red cable car swings gently above the rooftops and trees, lifting visitors from the busy streets to the sky. As the city shrinks below, and the sea stretches wide in every direction, the journey itself feels like a moment suspended in time. At the top, Mont Faron offers more than breathtaking views. It's a place of history, with a memorial to the Allied landings in Provence during World War II — a reminder that even the most peaceful places have witnessed moments of courage and conflict. But perhaps the real magic lies in standing still at the summit, watching the sun paint golden paths on the water below, and feeling for a moment like you're on top of the world — with all of Toulon quietly at your feet.
Mikko N — Google review
This is a fantastic value. Great views, friendly staff, and many hiking paths to explore at the summit including a zoo, chapel, and restaurant. Plus you can buy the bus and cable car pass as a combination for only 10euro. The bus drops right at the entrance with no connections required

Visitors can also encounter fascinating creatures like wolves, hyenas, bears, and even playful monkeys in a setting that emphasizes education and awareness about endangered species.
Lovelly quaint zoo. You can see the animals so well and near. The animals look very well kept. The lion look gorgeous. Very interesting as well that it is located on the top of Mont Faron. Big forests and with a spectacular view over Toulon.

The story behind the zoo is really beautiful and shows that the keepers of this zoo have a big heart for animals. Almost all the animals here are feline. The animals look very well taken care of. There is also a lot of info about the animals so it’s not only nice to see but also educational. Some enclosures however seem a little to small and could use some modernization. But they seem to have a lot of toys to play with and they all had fresh (some even streaming) water in there enclosure. Overall the animals looked very happy. I would go again if i’m ever in the neighborhood again. (Especially for cute little retired Yvonne the raccoon)

Tough ride to get there and in the zoonot really enjoyable ride if you have small kids that require a buggy. It's very steep and lots of holes in the ways. Yes, very small zool - we were done in <30min, and we spent a lot of time with each animal we saw (we saw 7, including the donkey and goat). The cages seemed indeed small, and everything looked very ramped down (fences were taped with wire that they still hold 😂😂). It's definitely not worth the ride, but maybe we are just used to different experiences when it comes to zoos... On the positive note, they started to refurbish a lot of cages. All the best for the future to the team that was nice and especially the animals.
David — Google review
The cages are so tiny that I felt bad for the animals. The zoo is also in a very poor condition, but they are busy renovating right now. It took us only 20 minutes to look at everything, so 12.50 for a ticket was quite expensive. I regret my visit.
Calypso — Google review
Nice little zoo, but life seems to be boring for these cats. Also, lots of empty cages. But still, nice visit
Bern M — Google review
Fantastic zoo! Staff are really passionate and are clearly doing a great job caring for these animals. It’s important to visit as the money spent on the tickets will improvise their facility and make enclosures even better. Had a great visit!
Alex C — Google review
Fun for an hour and a half. It is very tired and is in desperate need of investment in everything. To be positive, the animals appear in good condition and well looked after. None of them looked insane like the polar bear at Glasgow zoo. My daughter enjoyed herself. The picnic tables have a great view. April 2022..back again. We had a good time. All the cats were awake and moving about.

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Aqualand Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mer is a family-friendly water park and aquatics center with massive slides and tubing rides. The park offers attractions suitable for all ages, ensuring the happiness of both children and adults. Visitors can enjoy various beaches in Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer, offering activities such as swimming, playgrounds, and water sports. While the park provides fun and unique rides, visitors may experience waiting times.
Its is not as bad as the other comments say. We went on a sunday in august. It was crowded but was well managed. Its good if you can be here as soon as the park opens. The queues are smaller before lunch and after 5.30. They are at peak in the afternoon. The slides are great. Toilets are OK,they can be better. You may not get a bench to lie on. But there are plenty of picnic tables and grass. Lockers are available at 4 euros, refundable. Plenty of parking paid at 4 euros.
Vipra — Google review
Two advice upfront: 1. Be smart - buy online!! Way cheaper. 2. Next door is a supermarket. Get your things there before getting in. In general: It’s ok for kids or teens. As an adult you actually pay the entry fee just to take care of your kids when they’re too young to get in alone. There is no swimming pool or other „attractions“ (just) for adults than slides. And for the slides you wait forever to get on (and we went on a Monday during school time). Fees: The locker is 5 Euro extra, parking is 5 Euro, sun loungers are 4 Euro/each, they try to sell you photographs (15 Euro/1pic, or a bundle incl. plastic key chains for 35 Euro) taken by pupils/students… In summary: way too expensive (unfortunately you can only buy day passes) and a little outdated.
Herr O — Google review
It's an OK day out, nothing more. The rides are pretty basic and haven't been updated for a while and most of them are two person rides, so bear that in mind. We chose fast pass which works to a point, it means you can jump the initial queue but not the queue when on the stairs of each ride. Perhaps worth €30 each but only just. We arrived as it opened at 10am and left by 1.30pm by which time the place was packed. Plenty of shaded areas you can lay a towel if you want to stay all day but they get taken quickly, not that we intended to do so.
Gary O — Google review
Attractions in the aquapark correspond to what is shown on the website. At least the small part we could use. Unfortunately it was difficult. The lines are very long. Sometimes we had to wait more than an hour. Of course, you can buy a "fast pass" and get in without waiting in line, but then a visit to the park becomes a financial absurdity. Do not count the hours the park is open as hours of fun. All attractions are shut down about 45 minutes before closing time. Aqualand is definitely more focused on making money than customer satisfaction. For me, my visit was a waste of time, money and disappointment.
Rafał T — Google review
Long ques High prices Crappy food Low service levels Worn out atmosphere most places in the park Our kids were disappointed and frankly so were we after paying 130 euros (1 adult, 3children ) for some hours in this crowded worn down place that had seen better days. After spending 35 minute waiting for a 20 seconds ride most places we left with an irritation and a promise to warn other people of wasting a day here instead of enjoying the beautiful alternatives in St Cyr. Kr Bo, Denmark. 🇩🇰
Bo V — Google review
Disappointing and overpriced. Aqualand Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mer charges a high entry fee but offers very little in return—no guidance, poor organisation, and unhelpful staff. I completely agree with the many negative reviews already posted. The funniest part? Instead of addressing the complaints, customer service just copy-pastes the same generic response to every negative review. It really shows how little they care about improving the experience.
Ehsan N — Google review
Far too busy. Not enough sun loungers. People smoking everywhere. 30 euro to skip the lines for rides. Would avoid if possible.
Sara W — Google review
OVERCROWDED. Not many places to sit down due to overcrowding. Queues are long with some, such as the rapids, being over an hour with most being >30 minutes. Doesn't help that fast pass, which is an extra ~30 Euros, bypass the queue which causes an extra queue right before the slide. Do not eat here the food is super pricey (17 euro for a burger!). 2 stars cause, despite the long wait times, the slides are decent. My fav was the rapids Summary: Overcrowded, food is expensive and not worth it, buy the fast pass if you have the money

"A breathtaking landscape — completely different from the typical beaches of France. After the first cove, there's another one that's quieter and less crowded. If you go a bit further, you can sit on the rocks and dive into the crystal-clear water. The view is absolutely rewarding!"

The western theming is excellent and the park is clean! The rides are quite close together so no unnecessary walking needed. Free and spacious parking available. Bags are checked before entry. Buying tickets was fast. We enjoyed our day and our 4yr old son managed to ride majority of rides alone or accompanied. There are a lot of new/unusual rides we've not seen before. I took one star off however due to ride times as there is only one ride operator per ride and this holds the queues up. Also, there is no shade/covers/canopies for most rides whilst queuing and it does get very hot. I would recommend the water sprays/mists around the park to take the edge off the humidity.

Spent the day at OK Corral. Rides are Ok but nothing overly exciting. Gold Rush probably the best ride out of all. Kids had fun though. Service poor at best.. see transcript of hilarious conversation with Bartender: note temperature was scorching close to 40 degrees Me: 2 Beers and a large bottle of water BT: Sir we only have small bottles Me: OK.. 3 small bottles of water then. Can I have them nice and cold? BT: No sir the fridge is not working well and water is not cold Me: Ok.. can I have some Ice? BT: No sir, we dont have ice Me: could I have the beer in some Glass glasses and not plastic cups? BT: No sir only plastic cups here Me: could I al least have a slice of Lemon? BT: we don’t have lemons here.. this is not a NY bar, this is a western bar, we have what we have.. €26 please!

We went there on a Friday in July. There was basically no need to wait for all the facilities. There were performances more or less every two hours. The actors and actresses were very very professional, and the attitude of all the staffs were very nice even when the kids kept asking for playing the same game repeatedly. Children under one meter are free, and there are many items to play. Very good experience! Great for little ones.

Located in the heart of Côteaux Varois wine-growing region, Hostellerie de L'abbaye de La Celle offers guests a charming setting and impeccable service. The inn has a restaurant and bar, as well as an outdoor swimming pool that is open during the warmer months. All of the rooms are air conditioned and come with a private shower or bath and satellite TV and CD player.
We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay here. It was quiet as it was off season but we loved our comfortable and cozy room and fabulous meals at the restaurant. The service at reception and in the restaurant was attentive and warm , gracious and professional. They toasted our anniversary with champagne at dinner and made us feel welcome and at home during our time there. We would love to return in another season!

The stay at the hotel was absolutely flawless. The hotel staff was so friendly and always helpful. The hotel and services delivered fully at all fronts and often went well above my expectations. There were small details that just elevated the experience to a whole new level. Restaurant is superb, with food so fresh you can feel all of the aromas. Breakfast service is as good, which is often missed. Hope to come back many times.

All together a beautiful place with a stunning garden. Great food and wine list. Note: if you’re not staying in the hotel, you will be treated as a 2nd tier guest, sat in a less pretty room and assigned the trainee waiter. Ask for the main room for bookings inside.
Konrad R — Google review
The hotel experience wasn’t very satisfying. For a start It’s rather a 4* than a 5* hotel. The luxury touches of 5* hotel are missing and so is the service. It’s an okay place to stay for a one night in you want to have a dinner at the restaurant but not for longer. We booked the hotel because it had an Alain DuCasse restaurant but after we already made a reservation it turned out that restaurant is shut on Tuesday and Wednesday. After we got informed about that in the booking confirmation email we asked to cancel the reservation but where not allowed to cancel free of charge…. Since the hotel restaurant was shut the reception offered to book a dinner in a nearby restaurant La Craie Des Mets, sadly the food at that restaurant was very average, overpriced and served pretty cold, what’s worst it gave my partner a very serious FOOD POISONING. He had a sleepless night lying on a bathroom floor trying to survive the night. The next day was also lost as he still didn’t feel well and suffered with pain and diarrhea. Really not want you want on the first day of holidays in France… I did expect that the staff would go out of their way to try an offer a complimentary breakfast or help me to get a refund for this disgraceful meal we had after I told them what happened. But sadly this didn’t happen to the level of service you would expect from a 5* hotel. And although after an hour spend in front of reception desk the hotel staff had a few conversations with La Craie Dea Mets manager all I could hear is that it’s not the restaurant fault that my partner got so sick. Well he doesn’t have any food allergy and never had a reaction like that to a seafood so the food served must have been off or not prepared well. This was our first holiday in South of France and we won’t be back. We been to many places in Europe or remote islands like Maldives, Mauritius and never had such a bad experience.

Highly recommended! Three days into our trip through southern France, we found refuge from the heat and crowds of the Cote D’Azur at Hostellerie de l’Abbaye de la Celle. We were greeted by Maxine who ushered us into a bucolic courtyard where he served us the chef’s refreshing grapefruit sorbet, while we rested from our journey. Here we met the perfect combination of an extraordinary location, exceptional food, and the world’s most solicitous staff. A special thanks to the chef for making my wife a special gluten-free chocolate cake; to the fantastic concierge team of Alix and Claire; to the breakfast team of Claudia and Eric (Claudia, we will never forget your inspired suggestion to go to St. Baume de Marie-Madeleine); to Zachary for delivering us breakfast well before his shift so that we could go hiking in Cassis; and to manager Dominique for his tremendous hospitality. Don’t miss this beautiful gem centrally located in the south of France. Zen and Donna

Had lunch last year with friends, everything was fantastic and everyone were really happy. This year 2020 it was a complete disappointment. The food was extremely heavy and fatty. Pity there were no much of vegetables or anything more fresh to suggest then fried and oily food on a hot summer afternoon.

I have to admit that our trips to L'Abbaye de la Celle has turned in to a nice tradition. This is the first visit since 2019, "only" because of the Covid-19 pendemic. The place did not let us down. Surroundings are still magnificent, in the middle of rural Provence. Kitchen is still impeccable - an exercise in art both for the eye and taste. Service is as allways top. Parc national des Calanques, established in 2012, is a stunning natural reserve located in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. Encompassing both land and sea areas, it spans over 8,500 hectares of land across Marseille, Cassis, and La Ciotat, along with 43,500 hectares of marine territory. This park boasts remarkable biodiversity with numerous protected terrestrial and marine species.
I can highly recommend climbing the Massif Marseilleveyre if you're into hiking. Steep climb, but astounding views of virtually the entirety of Marseille and surrounding Calanque. The unique limestone landscape was really cool, great for photography

No fire, no smoking and no litter please ! Gemstone water at the foot of dizzy white cliffs. A good physical condition is better since you may need at minimum about 1h of walking one way from the parking to the beach. Check on the internet if the path is open, it closes on dry and windy times to limit wildfire risks and you need a reservation (free) during summer. You can also choose to dive there, which is a great way to see the Mediterranean fishes near Riou, where fishing is prohibited.
Paul A — Google review
Stunning place, rugged mountain cliffs perched above the mediteranean. Hiked the red-white trail from les Baumettes to Cassis, aprox 25km. Tough terrain, sometimes became quite exposed, not your average walk in the park, attention to the path and markings is key. Losing or missing a sign can lead you to the middle of nowhere. Bring plenty of water.

Visiting the Calanques National Park was an absolutely sublime experience. The turquoise waters are breathtaking, and the way the sea crashes against the mountains creates a powerful, almost overwhelming sensation. I had the chance to discover it on a yacht, which made the experience even more unique and luxurious, allowing me to fully enjoy the hidden coves and majestic cliffs. The contrast between the crystal-clear sea, the bright limestone rocks, and the calm Mediterranean atmosphere is unforgettable. A true natural wonder that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Marseille.

Beautiful national park on the Mediterranean coast. We were here rock climbing for a week. You could stay here a year and never do the same 2 climbs. So much to explore and climb. Incredible rock and views. Definitely do the 6 pitch 5.10a Arete de Marseille. Some of the more popular climbing areas are a little slick from wear. Still, worth it and highly recommend for a climbing trip!!

The Massif des Calanques is a stunning national park located along the Mediterranean coast, stretching from Marseille to Cassis. Accessible primarily by boat, it offers breathtaking views of rugged cliffs and coastline. The park features deep rocky coves with clear waters nestled among limestone cliffs, providing opportunities for water sports like kayaking and paddle boarding. Visitors can also explore underwater cave inscriptions and enjoy guided boat tours or private rides to fully experience the area's natural beauty.
This national park provides amazing hikes to see crystal clear water and amazing cliff sides. As you stand and gaze through the picturesque landscape you will marvel at scenery typically seen in books or travel brochures. This is a must see if visiting Marseille.

Nature here is amazing. I had some difficulties to find the right path, without google maps was impossible and not always very clear. However, if you like to walk and/or hike, this place is for you. Cristal water and small beaches, we went end july and not a lot of people. Of course you need to be lucky (like anywhere) that the few people you have are not loud. We took the tellow path. This one is not suitable for kids! But hey, it’s nature!:) A bit sad that in the sea you can se a lot of boats but then the park is closed to the public. Environmentally the impact of boats is way higher then just people walking. However, it was a great experience.

This is easily one of the coolest parks I've been to. It's absolutely beautiful with plenty of well-marked hiking trails. There's also plenty of climbing areas, some of which require far-from-obvious trails that require scrambling or rappelling at times. Rarely, you'll find chains at the extremely scrambly sections.

At the heart of Merseille, it is both terrestrial and marine: it is the only national park in Europe to be periurban and, in the Mediterranean. It is a nice short escape from busy city life. Get a ticket from Old port. They have 2.15 hours and 3.5 hours two different journey schedule. Ticket cost 32 and 38 euros. If you want swimming or stopping more extra.

Grotte Sainte-Marie Madeleine

Chapel built in a narrow cliffside cave, the supposed last resting place of Mary Magdalene.
An absolute must when visiting the area of Sainte-Baume. There are a few places to park and the walk is relatively easy, though make sure you take plenty of water in hot weather. The climb up through the pine wood is worth the effort for the views across the plateau to Sainte-Victoire mountain. The grotto is exceptional and a wonderful place to visit. There are daily masses, when some sections are closed off, but otherwise all visitors are welcome.
Neil H — Google review
The 1.3 kilometer walk up to this place is PAINFUL... the view at the top is amazing. There are similar views, however, all around Provence where the climb isn't so steep. So, unless you're going up the mountain for some specific, religious region... then I would just seek out similar views elsewhere. In fact... if you are on some sort of religious pilgrimage... you may be disappointed when you get to the top (if you didn't already know what you would see when you got there). It seems at some point during the 1950s or 60s someone saw fit to kitsch the place up with some lights pretty gaudy religious trinkets There's also a gift shop... which was thankfully closed. I was legitimately expecting just a straight-up cave... Not the little mini-chapel that was there. The giant sculpture in front of the cave is beautiful. Everything else just seems sort of tacky. I'm left to wonder what it must've looked like in the 1920s... or 1820s.

A quiet walk beneath the tall beech and oak forest of Sainte-Baume leads to one of Provence’s most meaningful sites: the Grotte de Marie-Madeleine. Tradition holds that Mary Magdalene spent her final years here in contemplation. The air feels still, almost suspended in time, and the view opens toward the valley like a slow exhale. Whether one comes for history, for faith, or simply for a moment of silence, the cave reminds us that retreat can also be a form of strength.

We visit today, October 17 2022. It was fantastic, very spiritual and inspirational. It is a bit of a hike to get up to it, but worth the hike. FYI I am 65 and in decent but certainly not exceptional shape. I stopped when I was tired but made it up. It was worth it!

Magical place. We happened to come when a Mexican pilgrimage had finished their visit and began to play guitar and sing. It was mesmerizing. The grotto itself is a special place and the view from above is nothing short of magnificent.

One of the holiest and most inspiring places you can visit. The emotion walking up to the hike is overwhelming. Mary lived many years there braving the heat and cold after Jesus died. She was a great Catholic disciple in the area and the beauty she left is unmatched anywhere in the world. Please be respectful and do not wear yoga pants.

BEWARE OF STOLEN ITEMS IN PARKING LOT we came and had an amazing time, locked the car with our suitcases and a backpack with two laptops in it. We came back to the car with no apparent issues and drove to our next hotel, only then did we realize the laptops and chargers were stolen. Even with the bags out of visible site, the car locked and a 1.5 hike, the laptops were stolen. If you come here with electronics, take them with you-it’s worth it.

Stadium
Sights & Landmarks
The Orange Vélodrome, home to the Olympique de Marseille football club, is a renowned sports stadium and event venue in France. Originally built as a cycling track in 1937, it has since been redeveloped with a distinctive undulating roof and modern features. With a seating capacity of 67,000, it is one of the largest stadiums in France and has hosted significant events such as the FIFA World Cup.
One of the highlights of Marseille! A must visit if you can attend a game. Stadium itself is comfortable and easy to access by public transport.

Amazing experience, fully immersed in the past triomphe of the club and recent progress. The tour was self taught, lots of signpost easy to follow. Love it!

Orange Velodrome is a second biggest stadion in France after Saint Denis stadion in Paris. We went there to watch a football match between O.Marseille and Le Havre, which was one of the League 1 matches of the french championship. The place has a unique architecture and acoustics, so it has been used for a number of pop concerts also. The entrance to the stadion is more then well organized, with more then welcoming and pleasant staff (at least when it's about entrance of the ladies to the match). The access to the stadion is quite wide, which makes a vast number of people enter the tribune in relatively short amount of time. Public transportation leads you very close to the main two entrances of the stadion that are set on the opposite sides, and infront of the stadion you can buy drinks and fast food on small stands. Everything is well marked, so you can't get lost. Hygiene in the toilets is OK considering it's a public space and there is a lot of staff members that can lead you to your seat's among which there is not much of those that are speaking English. Lighting conditions are great, as well as the acoustics but the biggest plus is definitely the atmosphere among fans of the O. Marseille. I recommend entering about half an hour earlier, so that you don't miss out on the friendly atmosphere among the fans. If you're a fan of football, you'll be thrilled that fans are cheerleading for almost all of the game time, without any incidents or a bad behavior. Certainly a must see! "Droit au but"!

We attended Ed Sheeran concert in June and it was amazing.Everything was great the sound..the lights..the fireworks!!We went eith our son 9y old and was safe. It was a bit difficult to find a parking place but at the end we managed. If you go to a big concert I recommend to go minimum 30min earlier to park your car.

We were at a Bruce Springsteen concert. A beautiful stadium with a very good flow of people entering and leaving it. There is a huge parking lot nearby.

A very wonderful place. We just ended a 2 days AI (M.I.A) program. The stadium is an awaresome place to visit...:
N A — Google review
Went to watch Ed Sheeran's concert. They opened the gates on time and it only took less than 5 mins to enter. The signages were big so you won't get lost where Porte and Block you'll be in. The stadium is indeed spacious but the movements were limited when seated. You either have to leave your seat so others can walk their way to their own seat or move your body sideways. The aisle is too narrow. But overall, it was fine.

Les Petits Trains de Marseille

Mentioned on

Tours
Scenic Railroads
Les Petits Trains de Marseille offer a delightful way to explore the city, especially for families with kids. The charming little train resembles an old steam locomotive and provides an entertaining and educational tour of Marseille's key attractions and historical sites. With three different routes available depending on the season, visitors can enjoy narrated tours that cover the Corniche, Old City, and even take them up to the famous hilltop church, Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde.
Wonderful experience to take you along the coast and up the hill to see the basilica. There aren't a lot of public transit options to go up there but $10/adult and $5/child is a great value. It's a pretty smooth ride and pretty quick to go up and down the hill. They drop you off at the basilica and you can spend however long you want there, just keep your ticket and head back.
James — Google review
Excellently organized train. Buy tickets in the center near the port, it departs often, there are many of them, in two directions (red and green, depends on the part of the city you want to visit). There are headphones next to you, you choose the language and a tour of the chalk. There is quite a long way to go, in my opinion the route leading to Notre Dame is mandatory, because everything about it and around it is indescribable and imposing. The car leaves you in the parking lot, you save the tickets and on the way back you enter another one. There is not much waiting, but don't go with hats and creams, the sun is strong on the hill where the building is built. On the way back, the ride was interesting because the streets are steep, like going down a slide. Everything I have about driving in 2025 is in the photos.
Ana F — Google review
Great ride. We got in early and there was no line. When we got back the line was already very long. There is 1 stop along the way with great panoramic view.
Peleg B — Google review
The Petit Train is a wonderful way to see the highlights of Marseille without tiring yourself out, especially if you’re short on time or less able to walk up the city’s steep streets. The tour typically starts down by the Old Port (Vieux Port) and winds its way up to the iconic Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, offering breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean along the way. The ride is comfortable, with an audio guide available in multiple languages (English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian), adding context to what you’re seeing. You'll learn about the rich history of Marseille, its transformation from a Greek settlement to a bustling port city, and stories about its most famous landmarks. While it’s a bit touristy — and the seats can be somewhat small — it’s a great way to orient yourself, rest your feet, and appreciate the city’s character. Some say the ride feels bouncy on the cobblestone streets, but that's all part of its vintage appeal. Overall, the Petit Train is a convenient, charming, and family-friendly activity — especially for first-time visitors or those with limited mobility — that lets you appreciate the best of Marseille in a short ride.
Kungfu-pigeon — Google review
The best way to explore Marseille and really good value at €10/adult. It’s also the best way to get to Notre-Dame De La Garde and you can get of and explore here and catch another one back. They run every 10mins ish too. Go early to avoid the crowds and the heat. We went around 10am on 31st July and no queues or crowding and were back in the Old Port by midday having seen all we wanted to see.

We came off from the cruise ship and wanted to join the hop on hop off bus in Marseille. We were glad we did not pre-book the tickets in advance. The line to the bus was so long. At least 50 people. It looked like we would have to wait at least 1 hr to get on. With the time constraints, we were looking for another option. The taxi driver was very helpful in taking us into town to find the Petit Trains de Marseille. She said this would be a better option and it was less expensive and it would take us to all the tourist areas as well. We paid for the tickets 10 euros per person which was quite reasonable. Only one line of two available was working that day but it was the one we wanted to go on. The mini train ride was quite relaxing and very scenic. We were glad this other option to tour Marseille was available in addition to the Colorbus hop on hop off bus.
Andy L — Google review
Is a convenient and charming way to see the city's main sights, especially the famous Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica. It's great for avoiding the steep walk and offers fantastic views. While it can feel a bit touristy, it's a worthwhile, fun ride that provides a good overview of the city.
Víctor S — Google review
One of the options to get to and from Notre-Dame de la Garde is to take the Petit Train 🚂 The train departs from the Old Port to Notre Dame de la Garde via the corniche on the seafront. (Circuit no 1) There’s nice view of the coastline and speakers playing guided tour in English and Spanish along the way. It’s fun, relaxing and hassle free. 😎

Palais Longchamp, a grand monument built in the mid-1800s, stands as a tribute to the completion of an impressive canal construction project in Marseille. The building's architecture combines Baroque, Roman, and Oriental styles and features a stunning sculpture fountain at its center. Visitors can explore the Musee des Beaux-Arts de Marseille and Le Museum d'Histoire Naturelle located within the palace complex.
Stunning palace in a nicer area of Marseille. Very scenic and picturesque as you're walking up. Lots of great photo opportunities and there's gardens and a playground at the top behind the pillars. Easy to access to via tram. Definitely don't miss this if you're in Marseille.

Easily one of the best sites to visit in Marseille and France as a whole. Interesting and valuable history, and fantastic grounds. The fountains are simply breathtaking. Palais Longchamp also has the Beaux-Arts Museum and The Museum of Natural History. So all-in-all a great place to spend the day.

It's one of the beautiful historical architecture place I have visited. Beautiful for day spending.also I have seen people coming here to read books, paint and spent time with family and friends. And it holds an importance of how a city used to get water from river and this was a canal back in 16th-17th century. Built by Duke of Orleans. Beautiful and scenic

Mesmerizing and above all charming palace built by the instructions of Napoleon III. Great place for Instagram photos because of the gorgeous building architecture with an artificial waterfall under the statue. Two lovely fountains that are set in the small artificial lake are making you see the rainbows under the proper light conditions which certainly adds to the charm of this place. On one side of double sided stairs is a Natural history museum and on the other Museum of the Beautiful Arts which are a good-to-go places if you're visiting Marseille. Behind the structure is a lovely park and a metro and a bus station, so the place has a great connection to the other parts of the city with public transportation systems. My recommendation is to visit it during the afternoon hourse, and catch "a golden sun hour" cause seeing it at this time is certainly a remarkable expirience.

A beautiful monument which houses two museums: the Beaux-Arts and the Natural History Museum. The latter was small (free) but packed full of information on life and the earth. Great for kids but not only... The park itself was a little scruffy and neglected, notices indicated that it was undergoing an extensive restoration plan.

Basilique Sainte-Marie-Madeleine is a Catholic basilica located in the small town of St-Maximin-la-Ste-Baume in central Var department, France. It was constructed over three centuries from the 13th to the 16th and houses historic organs and relics of Mary Magdalene. The basilica is well-preserved and worth visiting for its historical and aesthetic value, offering free entry even to the crypt during low season.
A hidden gem. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but this basilique is among the best in France. Incredible architecture, powerful organ, and beautiful art. The crypt of Mary Magdalene is beneath the church and there is an entrance accessible from inside

Beautiful basilique with lots of history. If you get a chance to go with a guide, I would recommend that! And don’t forget to check out the gift shop to participate in the renovation fundraising (they sell religious items but also local honey and other things, and you can pay by card). We were lucky to visit it with a friend who had done a guided tour on the journées du patrimoine and explained a lot of the history like how it was almost robbed at the revolution and that’s why a lot of the stained glass is gone but the organ player started playing the national anthem and pushed the invaders away. The story of Sainte Marie Madeleine is beautiful too, and so much more!

Wonderful place well preserved, which dates back to the beginning of Christianity The abside is really spectacular The 2000-years old crypt contains the remains of our Saint Sister Marie-Madelaine, which seems unbelievable One downside : large groups of people just stay packed inside the crypt for long periods of time, preventing other persons from accessing the tombs

Great activity for the whole family. You must reserve a ride before, since they are limited with number of trolleys. Price is 45 € for one trolly. It can take 5 persons, two seats are for pedaling. We enjoyed it very much. The first part is uphill and takes little effort, then you go to the tunnel, and after that it is downhill. There is no need to peddle. Return is on the same track, but you have motor assisted pedals for returning uphill. The scenic view nis awsame. Great memories.

Superb way to spend an afternoon with friends or family. Careful! Departs only at defined hours 3 times a day. Call ahead, as reservations are required. Great fun on the way down. The way back up is tough, in doubt, spend the 10€ extra on a battery for electrical assistance. Leave your weighty friends at home as you will have to carry them uphill otherwise.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Velorail Sainte Baume is a fantastic spot for both adults and families! The experience is fun and enjoyable for all ages. The power assist feature is a great addition, making the trip incredibly easy, but you can choose not to use it if you're looking for a workout. Just a heads up, it can get a bit loud if you start going fast. One important note: it's the parents responsibility to look after their children. If you have kids that are a bit more "energetic" and don't like to sit still or perhaps fairly young children, you may want to think twice before taking them on this ride. There is potential risk of injury. They are very upfront about it and will make you sign a waiver. Overall, a wonderful outing that I highly recommend!

Specialty Museums
Located in Aix-en-Provence, Musée Granet is a renowned art and sculpture museum housed in the former Knights of Malta center. The museum boasts an impressive collection of works by celebrated artists such as Rembrandt, Ingres, and Cezanne. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum also signed an agreement with Fondation Jean et Suzanne Planque in Lausanne to showcase modern and contemporary artworks for 15 years.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the Cézanne permanent collection since it wasn’t available during my visit in May 2025. But the rest of the artworks were really cool and worth seeing. The layout of the museum was clear and easy to follow — you won’t get lost. A great museum experience overall!
Deniz A — Google review
An extraordinary Cezanne exhibition covering his early to later works. Tickets only available via online portal and do expect a crowd- but it is a must if in Aix. The museum’s smaller permanent exhibition is also worth a (less crowded) visit.
Søren B — Google review
The temporary exhibition about Cezanne was fabulous however the organisation of the museum leaves huuuuuge space for improvement. The tickets can not be bought in the museum even if the next available slot is in the next 30 minutes. You have to buy online or in tourist office which is 700 meters away. The most ridiculous solution I’ve ever encountered in any other museum. You’re advised to come 30 minutes before just to stand in the queue. Instead of letting people enter on small groups they just put a mass of people to enter small space of the exhibition all together to make the small rooms super crowded. No logic at all. And the worst out of it is the stroller unfriendly policy! Nowhere at the stage of buying tickets online you learn strollers are not allowed. You learn it when entering museum. Parent must carry the child all the time. As I was nowhere before made aware of it I didn’t bring any baby carrier. They finallly made exception for me after consulting their head of security 🤯 the museum has lifts inside but first you need to make two round of stairs in front to enter the building which is a tough barrier for people with strollers or with wheelchairs. This all happens in France and touristic town! Shame and the difficulties they made for people with reduced mobility and first of all not informing the customer on the stage of buying ticket just spoils the whole experience. The staff also is not very helpful as this is a bother to have reduced mobility person as a visitor. Only one woman on the lower floor was actually nice. The rest was behaving as this is such a nuisance. Total disappointment and I’ve been to hundreds of museums before. 2 stars as the exhibition was first class but organisationally it’s a HORRIBLE place.
Culture T — Google review
The Cezanne exhibit is fantastic and well worth the price! They've brought together a fantastic collection and traced it though his life to show the evolution of style and use of light. The price includes the rest of the collection, and it was well organized to get in with timed entry, keeping it not too busy inside. If you're lucky enough - catch it before Oct 16 :).
Kimberly B — Google review
Wonderful space and comprehensive Cezanne expo visited in October 2025. There was a significant queue for the expo, which is reassuring! There are plenty of us still looking for beauty and inspiration in art! Will be back!
Silvana A — Google review
The Cezanne show was a great idea. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to truly appreciate it. We had tickets for the 12:30pm time slot and while the museum staff tried their best, people with other time slots were able to get in ahead of us. The que was in a side street that was partially closed to public but somehow people were skipping the que and going in. Once in, the museum was mobbed and there were large guided groups that monopolized the most significant pieces making it practically impossible for individuals to get close. The guide giving a lecture in front of the piece and the group (some even set up folding chairs!), took over entire rooms so those of us behind couldn’t get close. I’m sure the show was great and the city deserves kudos for a great effort but the museum needs to reconsider whether they can host individuals at the same time as they invite groups. The other issue is not the museum’s fault but a rule about it might help: photography should not be allowed when the museum is this busy. People stand in front of a piece with their phone, one after another, taking pictures of artwork that has been photographed millions of times preventing those of us behind to appreciate the work. No one is ever going to take as good a picture as the one sold in the museum shop post card or found in a book. I’m happy I was able to visit this beautiful exhibit but, unfortunately, it was not a particularly enjoyable experience.
Arnaldo V — Google review
The museum houses permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, in our case Cezanne a Jas de Bouffan 2025. The temporary exhibition was nice, the permanent one was fine but didn't entice me that much.

The mansion showcases Parisian influences and represents a beautiful illustration of French architecture from that era. It follows an architectural design that emphasizes the interplay between courtyard and garden, creating a harmonious urban oasis.

When you find yourself in Aix-en-Provence, make the Tourist Information Center your first stop! This welcoming hub is brimming with friendly staff eager to enhance your visit. They provide invaluable insights into local attractions and the rich history of the city, ensuring that you kick off your adventure on a high note. Many travelers have found their tips instrumental in planning multiple visits during their stay.
When you visit Aix-en-Provence, visit here first! The information and friendly welcome will make your visit that much better. We enjoyed touring all the more with the insights we got on attractions and history. It was a great way to get started on what turned out to be 3 visits to Aix during our week's stay in a nearby town. About the city itself. We were captivated. We visited from NYC during Christmas and loved the bright, simple ways Aix was decorated. The shops decorated tastefully and small - so refreshing vs the garish way we do it in the U.S. There's also a Christmas market which we enjoyed. Restaurants are in great variety and plentiful. Driving in/out and parking are very easy. And the rich history, churches, and architecture . . . wow!

We made the Visitor Center our first stop in town. I am so glad we did! What a fantastic Visitor Center! We stood in line about 5 minutes, before I was able to talk to one of the many associates they have working through information counter. We were lucky enough to get Jan as our Visitor Center associate. He was fantastic! He helped us get tickets to a museum exhibit we really wanted to see and tickets for a tour. He was able to provide much useful information. I can't thank him enough! Besides information and brochures, they also had a little gift store and art exhibit. The Visitor Center is a must stop on anyone visit to Aix en Provence

The Musée du Vieil-Aix is located in a 17th-century mansion and offers a glimpse into the history and evolution of Aix-en-Provence. Visitors can explore period furnishings, paintings, pottery, costumes, and figurines that reflect the traditions of old Aix. The museum also features wooden puppets in a 'talking crib' and screens used in Aix's annual Fete-Dieu celebrations.
I enjoyed this museum! 4€ for people above 26 and a nice thing to do while in Aix. The museum has a wonderful collection of art made by the owners

I must be missing something for this to get an average of four on Google. A very sporadic display - no story or theme really linking them. Limited educational text. If it’s pouring with rain and you want 10 minutes out of the weather then maybe, otherwise a waste of 6 euro entry. Also like another reviewer mentioned we were followed around the museum as if we were a group of naughty school children in a corner shop. Weird.
James P — Google review
By my understanding and standards, this place cannot be considered a museum. There are hardly any objects on display. I entered with the hope of finding an ethnographic museum, but it was a disappointment. Moreover, if you don’t know French language like us, you won’t be able to read anything or understand the visual presentations. Even if you consider the entrance fee as a donation, you’d be better off spending your time exploring the historic streets of this beautiful city.
Oguzhan K — Google review
Very limited collection focussing mainly on ecclesiastical themes… no English translations so only go if you are passionate about the history of Aix and can speak good French!
Josie — Google review
There wasn’t much to see, unfortunately. I was hoping to get a look at the mansion’s interior and some original furniture, but it turned out to be a small museum with just a few Cézanne paintings upstairs, and some rather creepy puppet dolls 😂
H S — Google review
The city was founded in 123 B.C. but the museum touches on the period starting from the 17th century only. You'll see a few models and artifacts from that era but you won't learn much about the actual history of the city for the most part. The displayed paintings are mostly related to Cezanne's fellow artists/friends, half of the museum could be regarded as a small extension of Musée Granet which is dedicated to Cezanne himself and many more painters. There's a room with an interesting 3D model for a cupola project of St. Peter's Basilica (Vatican), the video is quite interesting telling the story of the project but the connection to Aix is that a collector bought the model in Italy and brought it to Aix. The museum has some artifacts but it's missing out most of the city's interesting history unfortunately. It can be a nice break for 20-25 min if you are in downtown, entrance is free on the first Sunday of the month!

Followed around the entire museum like we weren't trustworthy. Made me feel pretty uncomfortable. I left after about 7 minutes.

Nice small museum, however the ticket vendor quite blatantly tried to short change me, then pretended she hadn't noticed the 2€ in her hand. The actual museum attendant was helpful though.

Paroisse Cathédrale Saint Sauveur Aix-en-Provence

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Paroisse Cathédrale Saint Sauveur Aix-en-Provence is a diverse cathedral that showcases a blend of historical periods and architectural styles. The site holds significant archaeological evidence, indicating its sacredness for thousands of years, with remnants of pre-Roman pagan and Roman temples preceding the Christian church. The cathedral's construction spanned over 1200 years, from the 5th to the 17th century, marked by numerous interruptions such as wars, shortages, and plagues.
Especially from inside this cathedral is looking impressive. Get informed about the history in advance or have a visit inside with a Tour Guide. I am sure you will enjoy it!

Very old and full of character, a fascinating mix of architecture. This is a beautiful historic site with layers of history. You can see a blend of Roman, Gothic, and Baroque styles all in one place. The stone carvings, wooden choir stalls, and ancient baptistery are especially impressive. Even if you’re not religious, it’s worth a visit just to admire the architecture and peaceful atmosphere. A great spot for photos and a quiet moment in the city.

One of the most amazing cathedrals - and you wouldn’t recognize from the outside. Actually hard to find as it is easily overlooked in the dazzling inner town of Aix. The magnificent inside greets you first with a wonderful full-body baptistery on the right, with high columns. Then you walk on until you realize you are in a side wing - and turning to the left exposes a beautiful main ship, with an even more wonderful altar area. We didn’t see the associated cloister as this has a long lunch time break, so check the time tables if you want to visit this as well.
DB W — Google review
Absolutely outstanding church - architecture, artworks, organ, cloisters, and alter. One of the best I have ever seen.
Sharon H — Google review
Amazing visit! No tickets needed. You can visit the church free of charge (except during church services when it’s off limits for visitors). There are spaces dedicated to prayers only - off limits for visitors - which you are asked to respect. The beautiful archway and garden can be visited with a guide only. Make sure to put that on your schedule:) it’s free of charge but polite to leave a tip.

Beautiful cathedral! You can clearly experience how it has grown during the many centuries, from the simple baptism area, through the Roman period, to the Gothic part. The extra gallery of the monastery is also worth a visit, with many icons on the pillars.

Cézanne's studio

Cézanne's studio, located on Les Lauves hill in Aix-en-Provence, was designed by the artist himself in 1902. Although he primarily painted outdoors, the studio served as a retreat during cold weather. Preserved as he left it, the studio offers a tangible connection to Cézanne for his admirers. Just north of the studio is Les Lauves, where Cézanne often painted Mont Sainte-Victoire.
Really nice experience. Amazing to step into Cezanne’s atelier and see some of the pieces that used to be there at the time. Lovely tour guide and very friendly staff at the shop. Would definitely recommend reserving a spot in advance on their website. And don’t forget to walk up the hill of painters afterwards for a great view and experience where Cezanne used to create part of his art.
Hannah — Google review
We enjoyed the guided visit very much. The guide spoke excellent English and described many interesting vignettes about Cezanne's years in the studio and efforts to preserve it after his death. We look forward to returning to see the progress on restoring more of the studio.

A lovely place to visit, even though there is only one room to see. The most interesting part was listening to our guide, who is very knowledgeable (and speaks English perfectly)! I hope that eventually this space will be even more interesting, with more things to view and I'm grateful that they do their best to save the remembrances of a great painter.
Anna — Google review
The bright southern French sunlight and sweet air made this place feel magical. Watching a group painting outdoors added to the charm—it was a beautiful and inspiring moment.
Anais H — Google review
Boring tour of women, who can hardly speak English. The content of the tour is irrelevant to the art of Cézanne. Just silly little anecdotes. Complete wastevofvtime. What a shame
Adam M — Google review
The studio I visited itself is one room and oat of some gardens. It's not accessible and it's a ways from the city center. On the way back to our horn we had to wait over 1 hour for the bus (it was a Sunday) and no Ubers / Bolts were available that could fit a wallet on the trunk. So it just wasn't worth it for the mobility aspect given that we saw one room.
Judith S — Google review
Excellent experience, made very enjoyable by the stories and anecdotes from the guide
Jon O — Google review
We tried to book for the museum but that was sold out many weeks before we arrived so thought a tour of his studio would be great. Ticket €9.50 each, says to arrive 20 minutes before your time slot. No idea why especially as only 3 chairs to sit on in the gift shop/waiting area. The staff at the desk weren’t particularly friendly. Our guide introduced himself and off we went through the garden, stopped to warn us about the path (it was very wet and slippery), and we arrived at his house. We entered the first room on the ground floor, stood around and given a background into Cezanne’s life. Then up the stairs to the studio. Stools provided to sit and hear more about Cezanne’s life and approach and then items of interest in his studio. There is his easel, a palette and a few bits and pieces but that’s about it. It’s a very empty space really for a studio and doesn’t give you a feel for how he worked here or how the space was really used. It’s a room basically. And that’s the tour, which a quick read of a website could have provided. Our guide was nice enough. He has perfect English however has a very thick French accent and spoke very fast so made it difficult to understand him ( I work with people from across the globe so very comfortable with accented English but even I struggled). NB. parking nearby is a nightmare so in fact turning up early proved to be a good idea purely to find a place to park. Tip- buy tickets online ahead as it does sell out.

Nestled in a charming commune, the Eglise paroissiale Notre-Dame-de-Pitié is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture. Although the church is currently closed to visitors, its interior can still be admired through a grate that offers glimpses of its serene beauty. This quaint location not only boasts architectural elegance but also provides breathtaking views of the surrounding region, making it an enchanting spot for both locals and travelers alike.

Great views on Luberon, awesome geological feature! If you are without a car, I would look for the bus line from Apt.

Great for a weekend trip. Worth visiting especially that it was free and the view was stunning. There is a climb up which some of the people might find scary (it’s like a stairs over the cliffs edge) but worth the walk!

So beautiful and charming, everywhere you turn! Like a fairytale. I stumbled upon this village after visiting the lavender fields and being intrigued about the village at the top of the cliff. Wandering around on a Saturday afternoon was one of the loveliest experiences I’ve ever had in France. I read up on the cathedral afterwards and it has been a stopping point for pilgrims since the Middle Ages, just incredible. If you are in the area, don’t miss it!
