Val Thorens is a ski resort located in Europe, established in 1971. It sits at the highest altitude and offers top-notch ski slopes, terrain parks and modern lifts. The town is considered as the hub of skiing in Europe, with a variety of ski runs that cater to different preferences. Visitors can choose their speed, turns and scenic view before hopping on one of the high-tech lifts available.
This ski resort had so much to enjoy from a skiing perspective and a general good time. There are lots of different runs, ski schools and places to eat on the beautiful mountains. I was unlucky enough to require medical assistance but even that didn’t disappoint, everyone was super great and very friendly.
Siobhan B — Google review
Amazing ski destination – whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it here! From easy, chill slopes to wild, uneven runs. The views of the surrounding mountains are absolutely stunning, and the snow conditions are excellent. I did miss having more trees around, as the landscape is very open and a bit desolate – though some people might actually prefer that. If you’re into partying, the town has some great spots – especially if you’re Danish! Just head to Café Snesko – you’re going to love it.
Thomas G — Google review
A very good ski resort. From beginners to advanced skiers, you can find good trails that will suit you. Also a very nice apres ski. Lots of hotels offers ski-in ski-out. Val thorens offers ski options when other ski resorts are already closed for the season.
Sigal S — Google review
Val Thorens has a great vibe, there are lots of amazing hotels and bars/restaurants. Shopping is easy with lots of convenience stores and also lots of specialist winter sports stores for all your skiing and snowboarding needs; though be prepared to pay a small (5-10% in my experience) resort premium on purchases here versus high street prices. Internet shopping is clearly the best option before arriving to make sure you get the best prices on equipment. Aside from the great bars and eateries, Val Thorens also has one or two slopes that you can ski and board on. Being a part of 3 Valleys it's a part of the largest ski resort in the world with hundreds of kilometers of groomed slopes. I love the ease of navigating around the resort using the many many lifts. There are runs for all levels, though if you're a complete beginner you may lack variety as there are relatively few green runs compared to other resorts. That being said, there are plenty of blues that are very manageable for beginners. Being at altitude I've found the snow quality and quantity to be better than other resorts in the area, including the 3 Valleys resorts of Courchevel and Meribel. Being lower they can often suffer with either slushy or icy conditions much more so that Val Thorens seems to. Final observation is that Val Thorens is an all ages resort. It doesn't matter if you're a family, young, old, or anywhere in between, Val Thorens has something for everyone, and all coexist peacefully.

The Perfect Destination for Skiing and Relaxation I recently visited this mountain, and I can confidently say it’s a paradise for ski and nature lovers! The area boasts an impressive number of ski slopes, suitable for all levels – from beginners to advanced skiers. The slopes are wide, well-maintained, and offer a safe skiing experience, making every moment on the mountain truly enjoyable. They are impeccably groomed daily, and the snow quality is excellent, no matter the weather. Beyond the slopes, the resort features cozy relaxation areas. The comfortable cabins, cafés with breathtaking views, and heated terraces provide the perfect spot to unwind between ski sessions. Whether you’re passionate about winter sports or just looking for a peaceful retreat in nature, this destination offers the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. I highly recommend it!

Val Thorens – Where the mountains are majestic and the buildings… aren’t Let’s be honest: Val Thorens is like dating someone with a stunning personality and a questionable wardrobe. The mountains? Absolutely breathtaking. Snow-draped peaks, endless ski runs, and views that make you forget your Wi-Fi password. Nature here is working overtime. And then… there’s the village. The buildings? Imagine 1970s concrete met a ski resort brochure and said, “Let’s do brutalism, but make it beige.” It’s like someone tried to stack shoeboxes in a snowstorm and called it urban planning. Charming? Not exactly. Functional? Sure. Photogenic? Only if you crop aggressively. But hey – you’re not here for the architecture. You’re here to ski, après-ski, and maybe pretend you’re in a Bond film while sipping overpriced vin chaud. And for that, Val Thorens delivers. Just don’t look too hard at the hotel façade on your way down the slope.
Steve M — Google review
Great skiing area. Really enjoyed it. Not pretty in the villages but well makes up for that with the slopes.
Michael D — Google review
At 2350m, snow is not yet an issue. The station is geared towards skiing and cater mainly to an international clientele. British and Dutch mainly. It has the trappings of a small French town with fresh breads, some cafes for drinks and meals but remains a very touristic area. Perfect for skiing. Going to the piste is relatively easy.

Lookouts
Aiguille Rouge is a stunning mountain in the Les Arcs-Peisey-Vallandry area, reaching 3,226 meters. It offers dramatic views and can be accessed by a cable car for skiing and hiking. The mountain features the eponymous black-then-red run, one of Europe's longest at 7km, leading to the village of Villaroger.
Aiguille Rouge Cable Car – Epic views, alpine drama, and a footbridge for the brave Riding the Aiguille Rouge cable car is like being handed a VIP pass to the top of the world—after waiting in a queue that feels like a ski-themed theme park ride. But once you’re crammed into that bright red cabin and lifted to 3,226 meters, all the grumbling fades. Because what’s waiting at the top? Pure, unfiltered Alpine glory. And then there’s La Passerelle—a 35-meter-long metal mesh footbridge that stretches out into the sky like someone said, “Let’s build a catwalk for mountain goats.” You can see straight through the floor, the wind whistles through your jacket, and your knees suddenly remember they have opinions. It’s not for the faint-hearted, but it’s absolutely worth it. From up there, you get panoramic views of Mont Blanc, the Vanoise massif, and your own insignificance in the face of nature. And if you’re feeling bold, you can launch yourself down one of Europe’s longest ski runs—7 kilometers of pure descent to Villaroger. No pressure. Sure, you need to book a time slot, and yes, it gets crowded. But honestly? It’s one of those rare touristy things that actually lives up to the hype.
Steve M — Google review
Stupendous views and great runs -a red and a black. Black particularly good. Great snow quality but the red can get busy just at the top. Picnic tables, viewing platforms, interesting information boards about the National Park, its plants and animals. Two Yuge cameras (link your lift pass to the Yuge app and on scanning the pass you can have your photo taken, which then can be seen and shared from the app). Our firm favourite in Les Arcs and highly recommended.
O R — Google review
Amazing place. On a good day you will have a 360 degrees view of the Alps till your eyes can see. The red slope going down from the top has one or two steep parts but nothing that a half-decent red slope skier cannot handle. Just don't look over the edges on the sides if you are quite scared of heigths.
John S — Google review
Just magical. This view you can only find in few places in the world!
Fernando F — Google review
Take a cable car ride up to the top to experience the most beautiful view.
A G — Google review
Very high up, impressively high and an amazing engineering accomplishment. Visited in April and it was a chilly 3°C. Skiing down the Glacier du Varet was very pleasant and the snow was good even unlike the slush further down in the valley. Great views, especially on Mont Blanc. Although it was very pleasant up top, there are no toilets at the top, it is frequently closed in winter due to strong winds and there are long queues very often onto the cable car that takes one up. Would recommend, but come prepared for no café or toilet.
Timothy L — Google review
Amazing view, it can take you some time toget to the top with the lift, but it was definitely worth it
Erik — Google review
Wonderful views. Strong winds, very cold. Skiing down was relatively straight forward not too icy either. Would visit again on a clear day.

ML was an amazing instructor, giving my teenage daughters the confidence they needed to really enjoy a morning rafting from Landry, and kindly speaking in English as well as French. The river was spectacular, with some good class 3 and 4 rapids, and a 5m cliff jump, surrounded by beautiful scenery including a dramatic gorge, an eagle’s nest and evidence of beavers too. A massive thanks to ML and the team for an unforgettable day. You made us very happy! James, Flora and Annabelle
James W — Google review
We would like to thank Alexandre for the great adventure! He helped us really good. We spotted a beautiful chamois on the mountain. We could see him climb and eat the tree leaves. We had a swim and a great 5m high jump into the cold water. Thank you so much for those great memories that will stay forever. We love rafting, la douce france, kisses from Belgium
Info D — Google review
A truly exhilarating experience. Martin (ML), was our instructor and he could not have been more reassuring to those on the boat with less confidence and who were a bit apprehensive. He was highly knowledgeable of the water and made us all feel safe. On the rapid sections Martin used clear and concise commands which were easy to follow and on the calmer sections we enjoyed Martin’s local knowledge of the river ecosystem and history of the area. 5 stars all-round and highly recommend.
Benjamin P — Google review
Such a great day!! Super easy to get to. Supplied everything we needed, boots, wetsuit and top with plenty of sizes. The guide Thibaut was wonderful speaking in English and French all whilst steering the raft. We did the “active” experience which involved some decent drops and splashes along the way.
Marissa S — Google review
Brilliant rafting down Les Gorge. Instructor Alexandre was absolutely excellent and made it incredible fun. We rafted down rapids, jumped off ledges and had some time floating down the river too. An excellent morning!
Annabel R — Google review
We spent half a day white water rafting with Evo2 in Landry a week ago and had an amazing experience. Very professional set-up and great instructors. ML was excellent and gave us full confidence and special mention to our instructor Myrtille who was brilliant, positive and fun. Myself and my 3 children (aged 10, 12, 14) had the best experience (including the cliff jumps!) and could not fault it. It was our highlight activity from a fun-packed week in Tignes. Thank you to all the staff. Would highly recommend.

Hydrospeed with Edouard was a super cool experience, we had a lot of fun, and we were in good hands. Organization was great, there is a friendly ambience at base too, 100/10 recommended. 🙌🏻 Thank you for the full team!

Fantastic setup. We got taken out today by ML who was fantastic with us the whole way through. Even happened to come across a Chamois deer. Thanks ML, see you at 1580

La Plagne is a renowned ski resort that offers a variety of winter activities, including a terrain park and options for dining and entertainment. The journey to the mountain road is surprisingly manageable, with expansive views along the way. As you approach the ski villages, you'll notice modest ski lifts catering to local day visitors before encountering more upscale signage and accommodations as you delve deeper into La Plagne's extensive skiing area.
A stunning ski resort! The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and the slopes are fantastic. There is an extensive variety of runs suitable for all skill levels, ensuring everyone can find something they enjoy. The resort offers a wide range of activities beyond skiing, so there’s always something to do. Waiting times for lifts are generally minimal, which is a big plus. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it an ideal place to unwind and truly enjoy skiing. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great skiing experience at La Plagne!

The ski resort is very large and you can have fun regardless of your skiing level. There are also many hiking trails that allow for wonderful snowshoe hikes. The natural surroundings and views are fantastic.
Diana M — Google review
Arguably one of the ugliest ski resorts in the French alps, however, this is in stark contrast to the excellent ski area, fast lifts and varied terrain. If you are an avid skier or snowboarder this is one of if not the best resort in the alps to visit.
Jon S — Google review
This was my first time skiing in the Alps. I highly recommend this resort to all skiers ⛷️ and snowboarders. You will love the slopes, people, and food.
Casey S — Google review
Great ski resort. The blue slopes are really nice, good lift access. Lots of restaurants but need more vegan options

Amazing ski resort! Several ski slopes and many possibilities for other activities. The bobsleigh descent is unforgettable.

Beautiful well designed apartments for skiers and walkers (depending on the season). Beautiful views of the mountains and lifts (depending on which side you're on I suppose). The apartments are compact but with 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bunks and a double sofa bed, with ease you could fit 8 people in ours. Galley style kitchen is best suited to one person cooking at a time so pre-plan to share the cooking duties if possible. Good extractor fan and each apartment is well appointed with plates and cutlery for 16 (2 meals a day) and a dishwasher as well as breakfast bowls and a host of utensils. We were only short a grater and a potato masher (apparently not French essentials). There a multiple lifts to various parts of the buildings as well as a lot of basement bootrooms/lockers to store your boots and skis and keep your apartment dry. The complex has a code entry to the pool, when you want access - daytime only (closes at 7) and no access on Saturday (change over day) with a new code each week. A 5 minute walk to the local Spar shop makes this a very convenient location with a Restaurant next door to the Spar as well as one opposite the entrance to Lagranges. The Ski and board hire shop is spitting distant from the complex check-in with convenient ski racks located around to stash your skis whilst you buy passes or snacks. The ski-pass system is very flexible at the resort with options for beginners being circa €35 a day, half day options, full resort passes, multi-resort passes and a pedestrian access pass to access the top of glacier via bubble lift for only €8! Superb. The resort is at 1800m so well above the snowline with easy access up to 3000m for fresher snow more often. Snowed again just as we left so if you're looking right now it's perfect for a last minute get away (9/01/23) enjoy! Back again for New Year 2024 - snowed every day so far and the trails are well groomed. Swimming Pool has been renovated as well as the wooden features across the resort.
Coralie T — Google review
Great ski resort especially if your using a motorhome parked right next to the main run back to La Plagne. Electric at the end of every row (which didnt trip once) and water is located at a hut at the entrance of site (short slippery walk). The while of thus network is mostly made up of about 70% blues 25% Reds and 5%blacks although many of the blues are more red like. Some great places to eat around the area but it is pricey.. €9-11 a pint !!! Food is around normally UK prices. The roads leading up the mountain to Villages was always mint ( the French know how todo it) the only time we had to put chains on was at the start of the aire as its not as well maintained as the main roads. I'd defo go back to this site and la plagne.

We had such an amazing experience today with Boris, James and all the team. Safe but so much fun. Really good instruction (in English too) If you’re looking for a brilliant white water rafting experience this is it. We had so much fun in the boat but also jumping in from 6 meters or less if you prefer, floating down the river and even a beer at the end. Brilliant day! Book it!

(Translated by Google) I had a fantastic experience at this rafting club. The staff all radiate enthusiasm and passion, and they know how to convey this to their guests. Some staff members can speak English perfectly. Parking is free in the vast grounds of the swimming lake, including right in front of the rafting club. Yes, rafting is expensive everywhere, but it's a fantastic experience. You'll be rafting with about 8 people in a boat on a river with good speed. Definitely not boring and not too rough, so it's also perfect for children. Note that it's for ages 8 and up, but it would actually be better for ages 10 and up. This is due to the force of paddling and the fact that you can sometimes bounce quite a bit (but still manageable!). You'll receive plenty of instruction, and there's a short break along the way so you can jump off a rock or swim for a bit. Our instructor, who speaks excellent English, shared our enthusiasm and deserves a compliment. This club is highly recommended! Afterward, you can relax on the beach or in the grass by the swimming lake.

Magic Ski and Snowboard School Val Thorens is highly praised for its exceptional ski instruction. The small group and person-centered approach of the instructors have led to significant improvements for many participants. The professionalism, experience, and kindness of the instructors, such as Michel and Luca, have left a lasting impression on the learners. Private lessons catered to various age groups have resulted in great progress and confidence building.
Michele and Christine are the most friendly, patient, and professional instructors I have ever met. Brought me and my family from absolute beginners to Level 2 in just 6 days. Truly gems, could not recommend Oxygen Ski enough!

We enrolled our 6-year-old child in the Oxygen ski school for a week and were very pleased! Our main goal was for her to improve her skiing, and the progress was simply amazing. Compared to other schools we've tried, the results here were significantly better—she became much more confident and skilled on the slopes. Huge thanks to the instructors! A minor downside was the lunch arrangement. Meals were served in a different hotel, and for young kids, carrying their gear and getting there wasn’t the easiest. They were likely assisted, but it still felt a bit inconvenient. Also, the food selection could be a bit more varied. Despite this, if we visit again, we’ll most likely choose Oxygen again—the quality of instruction here is truly outstanding!

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend This was our first season trying snowboarding, and we were really looking forward to a new and exciting experience. Unfortunately, our time with Oxygene ski and snowboarding school nearly ruined what should have been a special holiday. Despite spending a significant amount of money on lessons, the service we received was appalling. The instructor assigned to us, Daniel, was not only rude and condescending but also completely unprofessional. He was very impatient. Constantly mumble and utter something rude under his breath when me or my daughter fall over, when we didn't hear or understood his instructions. Understandably, we got nervous as it is our first time on the slopes. What’s most upsetting is that he used inappropriate and unacceptable language towards my 12-year-old daughter when I wasn’t present. This is beyond disappointing — it’s infuriating. We call it a quit after the second lessons. I had hoped this company would provide supportive, family-friendly instruction, especially for beginners, but that could not be further from our experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel strongly that others should be warned. There are many ski and snowboard schools out there — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We went with Prosneige Ski School to continue with our lessons. They are far more better than Oxygene. Their customer service is top notch and the instructor that assigned to us was superb.

Great ski school with fantastic instructors. Small groups guaranteed and of the numbers get slightly high, they add another instructor which is win win! Enzo, FX and Edison were all individually brilliant! They move you up midweek if you improve and the spontaneous hot chocolates were an unexpected bonus! Will be back next year, thanks Oxygene!

We used the Oxygene Ski School in Val Thorens for kids and adults group classes. The classes were brilliant and we improved over the week. The instructors were patient and Francesco was amazing on the first day helping us all settle in. Our kids loved the classes and are keen to return next year. The kids still talk about their sessions and their instructors Enzo and Oscar.

I just got back from a ski trip, and wow, what a turnaround! I've always thought skiing wasn't for me after a pretty rough experience a few years back. But when my friends planned this January getaway, I was hesitant but decided to give it another shot. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist mentioned this company called Oxygène . She raved about how they're a small business that genuinely cares for their clients, and I figured, why not trust her? So, I booked a class with Enzo, my instructor for the entire week. On the first day, we tackled a blue slope, and I was amazed at how much my confidence grew. By the end of that first class, I was actually conquering my fears! The second day was even better; I was already navigating blue slopes and starting to feel like a skier. Enzo was incredible—his support and encouragement made skiing feel effortless. Fast forward to the last day, and I found myself zooming down blue and red slopes with my friend, feeling like a pro! It's all thanks to Enzo’s tips and tricks that helped me build my confidence. I can't recommend him enough! If you're on the fence about skiing, give it a try, especially with someone like Enzo guiding you. You might just surprise yourself!

Booked a 4hr off piste guided lesson, our instructor was Daniele, and I can't rate this experience highly enough, everything was covered from general improvement of our techniques, off piste runs and equipment, plus some freestyle tips and lessons. So much time was taken to explain everything, and how it all effects the way you move the board. A lot of emphasis was put on the fact that this is a bidirectional sport and the improvements that can be made by being bidirectional, which really opened the idea up for more us. 11/10 top class day!

Amazing experience. Super approachable, professional, flexible and professional instructor. Really accommodating office staff. Both myself and my 12 year old son took private lessons. He was encouraged and pushed to grow in confidence, being able to go up and down the nursery slops and use the ‘magic carpets’ fully independently by then of the second lesson. Thank you Luca. Can’t wait to keep on learning next year!

A very good ski resort. From beginners to advanced skiers, you can find good trails that will suit you. Also a very nice apres ski. Lots of hotels offers ski-in ski-out. Val thorens offers ski options when other ski resorts are already closed for the season.

Additionally, Prosneige's team is commended for their exceptional customer service, particularly in fitting ski boots perfectly even for those with specific requirements like wide calves and small feet.
-Great experience for Ski bootfitting thanks to Cedric craftmanship and expertise. Got a pair of Fisher RC4 Pro MV130 which have been a pleasure to ski with the whole 2 weeks. THANK YOU. The same feedback from my sister-in-law with a pair fitted by Jeremy. -Great experience with the purchase (for our whole family) of several ski jackets, underlayers, gloves, helmets, goggles, ect. Thank you for Guillaume and Sandrine super sweet character and immense kindness. Top lads ! -Super poor experience with the purchase of 2 pairs of premium skis (Buttner Heida and Nordica Enforcer 96). When one buys 2 pairs for more than 3K Euros, he expects no drama. The Buttner were having faulty plates and the Enforcer were mounted with the bindings going sideways by more than 4mm. ProsNeige changed both after realizing these were having some obvious issues and I am very grateful for the same. Overall, I recommend PRONEIGE for anyone looking for a proper bootfitting and great ski apparel. Both teams are great professionals. For ski purchase, I was not convinced for obvious reasons unless I was very unlucky to have both pairs mounted by the same amateur (...)

The best ski school and instructors, I arrived as a really nervous absolute beginner and Milan taught me the essentials along with building my confidence. Very grateful for the service by max and Jeremy. Bought a pair of boots here, was thoroughly impressed by the level of detail that was put into getting a pair that I felt were the right fit for me. After a few days of skiing I had to get the boots readjusted and everything was perfect. They helped me massively with tips to get the boots on properly and how to solve the problems I faced. Thank you very much - they were amazing.

Was disappointed with the ski club for my 3 y/o son. I can't complain for the quality of ski lessons. It was more or less ok. But we signed him in for the whole week - full 6 days. They skied 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Rest of the time they mostly spent in this tiny room with one set of lego and couple of other toys. Toilet - adult size only. It's fine for couple of hours ski lesson, but not for the whole week. At the end of the ski course, everyone was suppose to get a medal. I was passing ESF at the time of the medal ceremony - the photographer, medals and ski book for each child. When I came to pick up my son, I expected the same. Most of the people were gone, we had to ask for the medal (which is a big deal for my LO) and the ski book. Disappointing experience. Will choose club Piou Piou next time again.

Les Saisies is a stunning mountain resort that transforms with the seasons, offering exhilarating downhill skiing in winter and thrilling mountain-biking trails during the summer months. Nestled at an altitude of 1600m, it provides breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and makes summer hikes more accessible. The charming village boasts a variety of restaurants serving local cuisine, including delicious cheese and wine that are not to be missed.
Great ski resort with plenty of slopes and runs to suit most people. There are many activities across the area including skiing, walking, cross-country skiing and taboggan runs. It caters for the French (obviously and understandably), but this means that the prices are reasonable and the food and drink are good. Just don't tell the British!

This resort has a great range of skiing certainly for green red and blue runs. I cannot comment on the blacks! There's good variation within each category also. The lifts are gradually being updated and lots are bigger and faster than formerly. The station has a great record for snow coverage when others are barren. Parking and bus access good also.

What a Ski vacation!! This Station it's just amazingly beautiful. And gigantic. Even in a whole week, we couldn't make the whole thing. Have a seat on the terrace north side of the road, take a deep breath and look at East: the Mont Blanc. Col des Aravis deserves a detour: out of the crowded town of La Clusaz, you can walk on easy paths to La Croix de Fer, have your lunch (recommended and fair in price) or a simple tea with a freshly baked crêpe. By the way, if you are a ski enthusiast, you’ll find at ease in La Clusaz: today, March 23, all slopes are open...

Rooms are small but cozy. The views are spectacular, however service is really poor. You have to bring, replace and return sheets yourself, there is no soap, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper, shower gel, cotton swabs, shampoo, nothing at all, you have to buy everything. The knives and cups are old and very poor quality. The shower hose also was partly broken.

Tiziana — Google review
A pretty little medieval place, with parking lots, shops, museum, parcs, a church, narrow and paved streets, and a nice view of the mountains, far away from the intense traffic of Albertville. 2-3 hours visit.
Raph K — Google review
Conflans in November is absolutely beautiful. The leaves have changed color and the mountaintops have snow on them. There aren't very many other visitors during this time of year, which allowed us to explore the city quite freely. Arguably, the best view of Albertville is from the garden at the top of Conflans. Follow the stone path up the hill and it will turn into a dirt path as it goes under the arch in the wall. This will lead you past a vineyard, a cow pasture, a great view of the East Valley, and to a 100-foot waterfall.

Breathtaking landscape and view! We drove up the Col du Galibier, which was kinda scary at some point bc the street is incredibly narrow. As we drove up the mountain you would see many bikers struggling to get up this mountain, they of course made it! We stopped the care midway and hiked the remainder of the mountain. As we got on top we probably took about 30 min to take in this view. It was an incredible journey and totally worth it!!

As a cyclist this is one of the highlights of my trip to France. It's a bloody hard climb, but so rewarding at the top for the views. I rode it in October, at the top it said 1c of my Wahoo so it made the descent quite cold.

Southern part of the French Alps (Graic Alps). Dream Pass for a biking challenge. 43 kilometers, over 2,000 meters of altitude difference and 2,642 at the highest point. Snow stays there all year round, the air is crisp that you want to climb up and you need only good weather to admire the three thousand meters around (Grand Galibier, Pic des Trois Eveches, Arves massif). The mountain pass is the highest point of the Tour de France .

We visited early August 18, was really impressed. We arrived at 10am, took the chair lift up (the rides open at 11am) the walk to the summit is very nice, as a family of a wide range of ages, 6 up to 60, we were all able to make the first view point and I scrambled the reming 200m to the top. A total height of just over 2000m. Nice cafe hut at the top of chair lift. Serves tea coffee, crêpes etc. Prices reasonable. Took the chair lift back down. Did all the activities and had lunch in then restaurant which was well priced, good food, excellent service. We were there a total of 8hours and it felt like 2, the rides are great. Good quality, well maintained, clean and professional. Suitable for all ages, for example the luge run (mini 2 person roller coaster) is great, fastbif you want it, and brakes can be used to slow you down if you like. Little ones can ride with an adult. The rubber rings are great for the little ones, and they can even do the mini ski jump on to a giant crash mat. Out kids has a whale of a time and we would definitely return. Also we (2x dad's and a teenager) loved the go karts of which you get towed to the top on a button lift then roll down. The go karts are full suspension disc brakes, very fast! Loved it:)

Small, family kind of station, with a single lift and several attractions for both kid and adults. Due to a bit remote location it's rather quiet, although the activities get crowded on the weekends (in summer). Good place to start a hike with spectacular views on both the Annecy Lake and the Mont Blanc range. Also a paragliding take off with commercial tandem flights available for non-pilots.

Very fun. Safe. Low attendance at noon. Children above 1.05m can take rides. Funny pictures. Amazing view on the mountain.
Antoine B — Google review
What a great place! There is a few things to do here, try the luge which is fast but safe. Or try the downhill course for the buggies. You can even try the free slack lines, some people make it look easy but it's certainly not, but good fun. The buggies you steer yourself down a course with long runs and tight bends. If you don't fancy that just take the ski lift to the top and enjoy the amazing views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains. There are public toilets at both the base station and at the top. If you are energetic you can hike up from the base station too. And when at the top it is another hike to the top peak of La Sambuy which is 1198m high! Wow!!
GLENN C — Google review
Never been on a ski lift before but was ea9to get on and off than I expected. Views on way up/down amazing so was the views on top. Good value for money and also did the bombsledge and tubeing.
Andy B — Google review
What a view! We got here early and got the chairlift up to the top, literally a few others around and even a place to get a drink. After taking in the views we then enjoyed the ride down. From here we got a coffee at the restaurant and enjoyed a few goes on the luge which was great fun.
Rebecca K — Google review
Great amusement Park for kids. Be sure to go all the way to the top for a beer and some cheese. And maybe for the view also if that's your thing 😁
Willem R — Google review
Enjoyed the ride up. Very foggy unfortunately, but that did add a sense of mystery to walking around at the top. Eco toilets at the top: hope to see more of those at remote locations.

The crystal clear waters make it perfect for swimming and water sports, while the surrounding mountains provide breathtaking views. Visitors can explore picturesque villages along the lakeshore and enjoy leisurely bike rides through adjacent parks.
One of the best lake city I have ever been to! Beautiful lake with mountains on one side and city on the other side. Many places to relax, swim. The best part is lake is very flat so nothing to worry about. Great crowd and very happening place.

Fantastic, very touristy nowadays but there are still some hidden gems that are quiet but you’ll need a car to find them (one was through an industrial estate so very hidden). Restaurants are great and people very friendly

This would have been beautiful in the right weather. It was just our luck that we arrived in the height of Summer, at the end of a heatwave and were met with heavy rain and thunderstorms o the water didn't have its famous greenish-blue hue. It is a lovely natural beauty surrounded by mountains.

I was just remembering how much we loved it there last year. My son and I rented bikes and went all around the lake. We also got a pedal boat and took a swim. Saw some young people doing a rope swing jump and did that too. Fabulous.

Salève, located in Haute-Savoie, is a hidden gem offering stunning panoramic views of Geneva and the surrounding areas. Accessible by trails, road, or cable car, it provides a tranquil escape with the possibility of clear views extending over Geneva and Lake Geneva. The area is popular for hiking with various trails available and even guided hikes with donkeys for families.
This was my Second Best Hiking Experience It was a beautiful summer day when we arrived at the Téléphérique du Salève. We took the lift to the top and visited the Observatoire du Salève, which offers the most amazing view of Geneva. The breathtaking beauty of the landscape was unforgettable! On our way to the summit, we passed by the Tibetan temple, a serene and unique sight. When we finally reached the top, we treated ourselves to a meal at the restaurant, enjoying delicious French fries and burgers (vegetarian options are also available), accompanied by refreshing drinks. It was such a lovely and memorable day!
Mika S — Google review
If you’re in Geneva, this is a great place to visit! The view is amazing and you can see all of Geneva from above. We went up the mountain on the cable car, if you have a Swiss pass or a student you can get a discount. You may also choose to hike up or down the mountain. On the level you will exit the cable car on, there’s a cafe, gift shop, interactive activities, bathrooms and an outside area. From this outside area, you may choose to hike further up the mountain or explore the area, there are some restaurants a short hike from this area. The cafe has coffee, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, baked goods, pastries, sandwiches and small bites. There’s an indoor sitting area with couches and table and chairs. You can sit, have a coffee and admire the view in the warmth of the cafe. There’s gift shop has some cute things for purchase such as key rings, candles, keepsakes, pens, stuffed animals etc. They also offer a disposable ash tray and alcohol wipes for free. If you choose to stay on the Saleve facility, there is a lift and stairs to go up to the other levels/facilities. There’s an outdoor 360 platform on the top level where the view is even more amazing, your head will literally be in the clouds! You will need to scan your ticket from the cable car to access it. On the middle level there is a restaurant and conference rooms. The restaurant offers a ‘menu’ which is a set menu where you can choose between 2 options for each course. It was fully booked so we were unable to try it but it was surprisingly reasonably priced! To go back down, the cable car runs every 15 minutes. This is the second time we’ve done this!

I took dog with me. We enjoyed the Landscape enormesly. Paths and that's are bit worn so good shoes are necessary. Views are breathtaking.
Juha S — Google review
Some decent viewpoints on top. The hike from all the way down to the top was a bit disappointing. Paths on southern side was not very nice and some trash lying around here and there. The more popular path, on the side of the cable cart was a bit better. The hike from Mornex was 2 hrs up and 1:15 down, about 800 m elevation in total. I didn't like that there are roads and private areas everywhere all the way to the top.

A short walk across the French border is a mountain frequented by locals of Geneva. We were afraid of going to Mont Blanc because of the altitude. It was a great trip!
David S — Google review
Loved it. Hiked alone for 6 hours on May 23 - views were magnificent
Ema H — Google review
A great spot for scenic panoramic views of Geneva and of the Alps. From Geneva you can get a local bus to the French border, walk a short distance to the cable car which will take you to the top of the mountain, and you can trek the short distance the rest of the way along the mountain to its highest point. It’s also possible to tandem paraglide down off the mountain if you organise it in advance, definitely worth doing

Such a beautiful and romantic spot to stop by when in Annecy!! A must!! The walk in the area is scenic, with towering mountains in the background and the beautiful lake Annecy creating a post card like view 😍 you definitely have to come and take in the beauty that Annecy has to offer!

If you’re in Annecy, a stop at the Pont des Amours is a must. Nestled between the peaceful waters of Lake Annecy and the tree-lined canals of the Jardins de l’Europe, this charming iron footbridge isn’t just a picturesque viewpoint — it’s steeped in legend and local romance. The name Bridge of Love is no accident. According to local lore, if two lovers kiss on the bridge, they’ll stay together forever. Whether or not you believe in the magic, the setting is undeniably dreamy: swans glide beneath you, the Alps rise in the background, and the lake sparkles under the sun.

The Tourist Office of Lake Annecy is a stunning building in the city, conveniently located near the lake. The office provides valuable assistance to tourists, offering maps and guidance for sightseeing and travel activities. Visitors can obtain pamphlets and brochures detailing various attractions and exciting adventures available in the area. The staff is known for being supportive and helpful, ensuring that travelers have all the information they need to make the most of their time in Annecy.
Lake Annecy and the town of Annecy is a hidden gem in the French Alps. A large beautiful lake, reputed as the cleanest in Europe is, connected with canals that criss-cross the town with the backdrop of snow peaked mountains and fringed with small habitats and beautiful buildings all round makes for a great outing. We had a one hour boat ride around the lake and were swept over with the sheer beauty of the emerald Lake and its surroundings as can be seen from the attached pictures and videos. Truly exhilarating! The cobbled mediaeval town has many places of interest including chateaus, cathedrals, prisons and the ubiquitous eateries and shops lining the canal, and in the town. The canals remind us of Venice and the best way to explore this place is by foot in addition to a boat ride on the lake. If you are in France for a few days, I would definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful town nestled in the Alps!
Subir D — Google review
The office de tourisme is easy to access from the SNCF station and the staff was very kind, they could speak English, so our bad french wasnt a problem. I loved the recommended parcours, there were two to choose from and we ended up mixing the two. Annecy is not overrated at all, it's a beautiful town, with old buildings, castles, churches and the amazing, cristal clear lake, everywhere you look is a feast for the eyes. We went on a national holiday and on top of that, there was a volleyball championship and an animation event going on, so there were lots of people outside the normal tourists, I assume. Don't miss on the château de Menthon Saint Bernard! It's a bit far, but easy to access from the bus line. The only thing is that there were fewer buses circulating, since it was a holiday. We couldn't get in the castle due to the time, but even the entry for the gardens was worth it, the scenery is simply amazing. I'd recommend at least 2 days in Annecy if you want to see the museums and everything else. We went only on a day trip from Lyon and it was enough for the Tour around town, but we couldn't get into any museums due to the time, which was a shame.
Erika H — Google review
Visually impressive town. Beautiful lakes, canals and waterways. Most shopkeepers act as tourist guides and I tell you that the fast moving waters of the canals are fed by glaciers. Massive array of restaurants to eat from... real provincial authentic french food. Not that expensive if you are using euros, any other currency, and it starts to get very pricey. You need at least 3 days here to look at Lakeside beaches, castles, canals. Mountains and it's all centered around Annecy Lake. We were lucky enough to go on the most auspicious day of the year. Much celebration and finished in the evening with an hour and a half fireworks display. A must go to secret.

Wrong people manning the post. I asked 2 questions to a young lady manning the counter 1. Where is the lift to carpark? 2. How can I get parking package? She directed me to the wrong direction for the lift and make me walked to another building to purchase the parking package. I was told to go back where I parked and package can be purchase at the ticket machine. Simple steps but she don't know any of it. Or she simply dislike tourists. Wasted time just because of her.
HS K — Google review
Large office space with at least 4 employees taking care of tourists. I guess it depends on the member pf the staff you get, the service you get. First lady was in a rush, provided some incomplete information regarding walking trails and how to get there. Had to go back and second person was a little more thorough. Ended up walking a short trail far from the city, would have been better to walk along the lake closer to the city center.

A really great place to find out everything about Annecy! The staff gave us fantastic advice on what to visit and what to see around the area. We were looking for recommendations for a nice spa with an outdoor pool, and they suggested an amazing place we couldn’t even find online! Highly recommended!

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Annecy Tourism Office for their outstanding support during my visit. Unfortunately, I discovered upon arrival that the hotel reservation I had made was a scam. It was a very stressful moment, but the team at the tourism office stepped in with such kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. They not only reassured me but also quickly helped me find safe and comfortable new accommodations. Their knowledge, efficiency, and compassion turned what could have been a disastrous experience into one where I felt truly supported and looked after. Thank you to the entire team - especially the young woman who directly helped- for embodying excellence in customer service and for showing such warmth to a traveler in need. Your assistance made all the difference and left me with the best impression of Annecy and its wonderful people.

Art museum
Perched on a hill overlooking the old town, Musée-Château d'Annecy is a restored medieval castle that has been transformed into a museum. Constructed over four centuries from the 12th to 16th centuries, it was once the residence of the Counts of Geneva and Dukes of Genevois-Nemours. The castle now houses regional sculptures, paintings, and contemporary art, offering visitors a captivating journey through time.
Especially the museum is worth to visit this castle. You get a huge variety of exciting views into modern arts, history and also geographical and natural development of the whole region. You should not miss this. The entrance fee is very fair for what they offer!
Stefan R — Google review
It is a very impressive building, and the refurbishment of it is very impressive. Lots of history and at the moment has an art exhibition, which will please a lot of people, but I am afraid I am still old school. At 6.50 euros, it is great value. WC's are available in a couple of places, so no need to cross your legs. It's a shame they don't have rides to the top, from the market, but it was very hot, 31 degrees today. 20.06.25. A great visit, thank you 😊

There’s a fair few pieces of nice work in many mediums. I’m not so much of a fan of the modern artwork, but I loved a lot of the sculptures and landscape paintings. Much prefer the museum opposite.

It is worth the effort to walk up the short but steep hill to the chateau for the views alone but it was also worthwhile going inside. Lots of interesting art, both old and new (ish). It's a pretty cheap place to visit and you can go when it suits, no need to book ahead of time. We spent about an hour there which was more than enough. Takes about 10mins to walk there from the base of the hill on old town.

A must-visit in Annecy! ⭐️ Beautiful, historic, and very memorable! The castle offers stunning views of the lake and mountains, and the museum inside has a fascinating collection of regional art and history.
Tran N — Google review
Great expectations… and disappointments to match As impressive as the castle looks from the outside, the visit itself was just as disappointing. I'll start with what I liked (because this list is way shorter than the one with the negative points): 1. The painting gallery, where you can admire several works (originals, according to the supervisors) by great painters, including a small painting by Fragonard and, most notably, "The Massacre of the Innocents" by Pieter Brueghel the Younger 2. The (temporary) exhibition "L’épopée burgonde" - the arrival and installation of the Burgundians in Haute-Savoie region 3. Behind the castle, there is a spot from which you can admire Lake Annecy surrounded by mountains What I didn’t like: 1. Most of the rooms in the main castle building are completely empty: no furniture, drawings, paintings, period clothing, weapons, courtly objects… nothing but cement and wood 2. An almost total lack of information — the organizers didn’t bother to put up even basic informative panels, so many tourists wandered around speculating: “this was probably where…” 3. Many areas inside the castle are not accessible to the public 4. The old shooting holes have been “completed” with modern windows, which not only spoil the charm of the building, but also prevent visitors from taking photos, as the glass is far from transparent 5. The modern art exhibition is absolutely ridiculous — in fact, it’s not art at all (I’ll upload a picture so you can judge the quality of these so-called “works”). On top of that, the exhibition takes up many rooms on the upper floor — so many that it felt like it would never end 6. The other two buildings of the complex host exhibitions that have nothing to do with a medieval castle; for example, one of them focuses on the fauna of the nearby lake and on fishing vessels… well, if I want to know more about the fish in the lake, I’ll go to a fish-farming museum or a natural science museum, right? 7. In the basement of one of the towers there are several tiny aquariums, poorly maintained and without plants for the animals to hide in; each contains a few unhappy fish swimming in endless circles 8. The crenels of the towers have also been covered with windows through which you can’t take pictures (in fact, you can’t even see properly). This is even more frustrating because some of these windows overlook the beautiful Lake Annecy 9. If you’re thinking of climbing the walls or the fortified gate, think again — access is prohibited 10. On top of everything, I stood in line for tickets for a very long time… and I really regret doing so. Final score: 2 stars, and those only for the art gallery (which could just as well have been housed elsewhere, not in a restored medieval castle) and for the exhibition dedicated to the Duchy of Burgundy. Without them, even one star would have been too generous.

A wonderful castle standing on a slightly higher point in Annecy. One of the steep hills brings you there (not too steep for a wheelchair apparently as Ive seen people go up with some help) Be sure to check it out, sometimes it even has expositions inside, also the view from the castle is excellent

It's a great family activity. We've been twice now whilst staying in the area. The first time was in August 2023 and we visited again in August 2024. The second time was on a cooler day, only 22C degrees, and that meant that the crowds stayed away and we enjoyed 4 hours of no queues for any slides or activities! It was great! We have seven children, aged 9 mo to 15 years old and everyone had a great time.

We just used the spa area which was lovely and great value! Afterwards, showers aren't so powerful/hot and the button maybe lasts 20 seconds... but whatever, if you do not have plans after then not such a big deal :) otherwise, the hairdryers which are located outside the showers are not the only ones available- after you've got dressed etc, there's proper hairdryers outside, directly opposite the changing rooms, so no stress 😉

I love this place. Make a year subscription and enjoy the indoor and outdoor pool ♥️ So many slides to enjoy. Fantastic place for the whole family! Have been to the kids gym area and the aquatic park. Both are great! The warm pool at the aquatic park is perfect for everyone, including our 1 year old. The kids pools are a bit chilly for a baby, but just fine for preschoolers and such. Next time will definitely try the huge slides!

Facilities are nice. Overall, it's still quite new and also very clean in general. Their booking/tag system (especially for their long-term customers Formule Liberte) has never worked very well. A lot of things are forbidden and they are overly strict with discipline, which makes it quite a sterile/policed kind of atmosphere compared to other family adventure swimming pools. It can get very crowded, so choose your slot well.

Once inside, 20:14, the guys from salvatage told me the swymming was already closed. Because they close 20:15 to permit the cleaning and the closure at the 20:30. I went back to reception (20:21) and I asked why they didn’t tell me nothing….The woman went away and another one came to told me that the other colleague told me before….NO SENSE FOR ME GO INSIDE IF IS CLOSED!!! LYER!!! I also asked for chenage to change the thicket for the gym. Because I used the ticket before for nothing. She reply me, no is not possible because the ticket is for one emtrance only…. So, LIER and UNWELCOMING

Notre-Dame des Neiges, located in L'Alpe d'Huez, is a stunning modern church built in the late 1960s. Its unique architecture, designed in the style of Le Corbusier, and adorned with stained glass artwork by Iserois Arcabas make it a must-see attraction. The church hosts weekly concerts featuring world-class artists and provides a serene atmosphere for visitors to light candles and find peace.

A modern design church built with love truly a work of art & a place of prayer & with the hand design 🙏 close to the heavens ✨️A small chapel, built in 1940, situated in the center of the Alpe d'Huez, was initially dedicated to the Marian cult. In 1960, the priest, Jaap Reuten, asked Jean Le Boucher and architect Jean Marol to build a church-shaped tent, representing Abraham, the first Biblical patriarch, to replace the chapel with a structure visible from the Meije, in preparation for the Olympic Games of 1968. Stained glass windows surround the nave, oval, representing the life of Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of Mark, made by the artist Arcabas. The church holds a crypt dedicated to St Nicolas and in the choir, there is a pipe organ, whose organ case is in the shape of hand. The instrument was designed by the composer Jean Guillou, and built by the German organ builder Detlef Kleuker.

The French Ski School (ESF) is open to children aged 3 to 12 and offers two snow gardens in the village and at the satellite center la Daille. They follow the French national ski program, ensuring consistent levels and progression for kids who have skied with ESF in other resorts. Children above 13 can join adult groups. The school provides morning lessons in English, with small group sizes and friendly instructors like Thalassa who go the extra mile to help students improve.
I had two private lessons with Antoine, and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! He is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and always encouraging. He provided a lot of useful tips and techniques, making the learning process both effective and enjoyable. Even as a beginner, I felt comfortable and confident on the slopes, and I saw noticeable improvement after just two sessions. On top of that, the lessons were a lot of fun! I highly recommend Antoine and the ski school to anyone looking to improve their skills.

Fantastic Experience with ESF – Highly Recommend Booking Early! We had an amazing experience with ESF, and our biggest tip is to book early! We originally wanted group lessons for our 5-year-old daughter, but they were completely booked up. Luckily, we managed to get one-to-one lessons, which weren’t much more expensive and turned out to be a fantastic decision. Clem’ – A Brilliant Instructor! Our daughter had never skied before, and to be honest, she can’t even roller-skate, so we were a little unsure how she’d get on. She was also quite nervous about meeting her instructor, but within 30 seconds of meeting Clem’, she was completely at ease. Clem’ is an absolute star—friendly, patient, and fantastic with kids. We booked six days of one-hour private lessons, and the progress was unbelievable. Clem’ gave us brilliant advice, not just for our daughter but for us as parents—things like letting her figure things out independently rather than jumping in to help too soon. By day three, she was flying down the kids' slope (like a little bullet!), and by day four, she was confidently using the button lift and skiing down all by herself. Clem’ also gave us tips for next year, recommending a group session, as kids often improve faster when learning alongside others. A Few Tips for First-Timers Book early – Group sessions fill up fast, and one-to-one lessons can also get booked up quickly. Confirm the meeting point – If you’re new to the area, it can be a bit confusing. To get to the lesson area, you need to take the Lobster Pot lift up to the main ski area. The meeting point is by the restaurant near the Signal lift, but after the first day, we met directly at the kids’ ski area, which was much easier. Do not go to the office as that's in the village below. Don’t hover too much – Clem’ encouraged us to drop our daughter off, go ski for an hour, then come back. It worked brilliantly, as she got to learn independently while we enjoyed our time on the slopes. Stick around for the ESF Show – On Thursday evening, ESF put on a fantastic ski show with fireworks, featuring 300+ instructors doing incredible performances. The best way to watch? Grab a table at a restaurant, have some drinks, and enjoy the show from there rather than heading up the mountain. Just wrap up warm—it gets freezing up there! Final Thoughts Honestly, we couldn’t rate ESF highly enough. From the way instructors help out on the lifts to their expertise in teaching skiers of all levels, the entire experience was top-class. Even if you're an intermediate skier, I’d still recommend booking a couple of private lessons—I saw one-to-one lessons happening, and the level of improvement was seriously impressive. And finally—a massive shoutout to Clem’ for making our daughter’s first skiing experience fun, confidence-boosting, and genuinely unforgettable. She’s an absolute credit to ESF, and we’ll 100% be booking lessons again next year. If you're planning a ski holiday, get on their website and book early—you won’t regret it!

Jerome is the best ski teacher I have ever met. He was so motivating and brought my self confidence back. With his leadership we were a great team and it is great to know he will never leave you behind. And one of the most important thing is his English fluency especially if you are a beginnner. Jerome showed an empathy that how you feel while learning. He was my chance.

Me and my brother had 3 hours of private lessons with Chris B. and it was amazing. In just a few minutes we were able to improve our technique with all his tips and calm explanations. Thank you very much for everything Chris, for sure we will come back and ask for you in our next lessons!

My experience with ESF at Alpe D’Huez was brilliant. I booked on to Adult Beginner Ski School for a week in March. 6 mornings on the snow, learning basic snow ski skills, using lifts and having fun. The Instructor, Thalassa, was great, supportive and encouraging. I would highly recommend booking with ESF, and if you can ask for Thalassa!

I had 6 days of ski school with a French instructor named William. He was very professional, incredible at explaining the theory, and he was super kind. He surely created a great atmosphere in the ski school class. I give William and ESF my warmest recommendations.

Insanely good lessons with Antoine ( hope I spelt correctly). Very simple explanations of fundamentals of ski technique and muscles used which really connected the dots for me. I have only done 3 seasons and somehow he’s got me confident with reds and I have now safely and in controlled completed 3 blacks runs using the techniques he taught me which was a bonus as never expected that! I have never felt so chilled skiing Thankyou!!!

Such a good ski school. I have booked lessons for my two daughters and for myself. Little girls absolutely loved it and completed their weeks course with theirs fabulous ski instructor ladies. My instructor was Ettiene and he was so patient and engaging. I haven't completed mine, missed three days as I was unfortunately ill on holiday and didn't have any energy to get up that early every day,but will be definitely recommending this to everyone.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful ride on the canal that connects the Rhône to Lake Bourget on a beautiful, silent, solar-powered boat. Two packages are offered, a long ride of 2h30 and a short one of 1h15. I did both because it was so beautiful and on the long walk you have the opportunity to pass through a lock (the only one in Savoie), a unique experience. Quality explanation by a passionate captain.
