Excellent boat tour of the Scandola nature reserve. Great explanations in English of the various natural attractions and how they were formed. Thank you team for a great afternoon!

On monday they told us that because of the weather forcast they would have been closed till thursday and to pass by on wednesday for a trip on thursday. We postponed our departure of one day. On wednesday morning they told us that it was solt out for thursday. The weatherforcast was the same over all the week and today, wednesday, there is no wind. If you like to visit scandola just go to girolata or calvi, in galeria they should learn that turists are person and not bancomats. Moreover it seams that they realy enjoy making your holiday bad. Maybe a trip out of the island would help.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful 4-hour excursion to visit Girolata and the Scandola Nature Reserve. Two departures, one in the morning at 9 a.m. and the second at 4 p.m. (during the high season, €65 per person). Maximum boat capacity: 12 people. Bring a swimsuit and sunscreen. There's also a break for a snack with local wines, soft drinks, water, and small sandwiches. The captain was very friendly, explaining and providing information throughout the trip. (Translated by Google) We booked a 4-hour tour at 9 a.m. to visit the Scandola Nature Reserve. The tour was actually only in French, and we understood part of it. Since the guide noticed that we understood less than his fellow travelers, he kindly translated for us into English. There were 9 of us in total, and the boat was designed for 12 participants. I would definitely prefer the four-hour tour to the two-hour one, as visiting the small town of Girolata, swimming in the sea at two otherwise inaccessible spots, and the snack break with baguette and wine were truly a dream! Overall, it was a great success, and we were very impressed by the impressions we had of the nature reserve.

Nestled in the picturesque hills above Calvi, La Villa Calvi is a luxurious retreat that perfectly blends elegance with breathtaking natural beauty. This upscale hotel boasts five stunning pools, including an infinity pool that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the iconic 13th-century citadel. Guests can indulge in fine dining at its Mediterranean restaurant or unwind at the marine-inspired spa after a workout in the high-tech gym.
My wife and I spent 4 nights at La Villa Calvi for our honeymoon. The room was very spacious with a stunning sea/mountain view balcony. The staff, from cleaners to managers, were all excellent and were all polite and friendly. Breakfast was superb, and the food at both restaurants (the beach and the main hotel) we found delicious. True luxury.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Villa Calvi. Our room was excellent; the views from the hotel in general were wonderful; the service was excellent, and the food was top-notch! Had dinner there were some problems with wasps the management very kindly supplied us with electric flyswatters which did the job!!!
Gerard O — Google review
The most beautiful hotel - the view from breakfast was the best viewpoint of our trip in Corsica. Everything was perfect.

We spent a week at La villa Calvi and it was a pure happiness. The staff is super nice and make sure you are getting everything you need. The breakfast is amazing ! We loved every single things of this hotel and will come back !
Marion M — Google review
La Villa is a contradiction , it is a five star hotel but many facets of its service are distinctly lacking . Firstly the positives - excellent location - clean and airy and modern - good spacious bright clean rooms , the house keeping staff are excellent, friendly, enthusiastic and professional - food is good , albeit I have had much better elsewhere. - the young lady running the restaurant was excellent - very professional and friendly. - the drivers were excellent- particularly Euan The disappointments - despite being a resident we were unable to book a table despite being flexible on time - the wine waiter needs retraining !! He pushed for our wine order even though we hadn’t ordered / decided on our food ! He made no attempt to be helpful , he overfilled the glasses , he even wanted to poor a second different wine into the same glasses we were frankly appalled and he argued the point. He was rude and arrogant . - the room service menu for children lacked imagination . It was also Problematic that hot food was not available until after 7.30pm ( the food actually arrived at 8.50 pm). - a meal served to one of our friends had paper in it !! The waitress apologised , but for a 5 star rating I would have expected the owner / manager / chef to come out and apologise- indeed the chef did come out and came over to us but then proceeded to talk to two people on the next table for 15 minutes with his back to us - a opportunity lost! - my wife and my daughter were at the beach but the hotel refused to come and collect them ( having done so 2 days earlier ) - the person was unhelpful , didn’t offer to organise a taxi or make any suggestions This hotel did not live up to its 5 star rating , please improve the consistency of your service level - attention to detail and training are core requirements.
Richard L — Google review
We visited Calvi, some of us coming from Asia, some from Paris, and were looking forward to a dinner at La Villa. Not only was it very difficult to book a table, in spite of the restaurant being half empty when we eventually visited last May, but the experience was very disappointing. No welcome at the hotel entrance, very slow service -a nice lady seemed to be alone dealing with several tables- nothing of what’s expected from a 5 star hotel restaurant at this price. The sommelier was most unpleasant: arrogant, rude, not interested to explain local wines, only focused on filling and re-filling our glasses to the max -spilling wine on the table right from the beginning- even before any bread or other food had been brought to the table. I wonder if the experience can even get worse during high season when the hotel is busier. It’s a shame to offer such a poor experience at this price in a beautiful location.
Christian P — Google review
This is a lovely peaceful hotel, with a magnificent view of Calvi. Very friendly and helpful staff with large well appointed rooms. The grounds and pool are well presented and it is in walking distance of the centre of Calvi, although it is uphill on the way back. Although they could lose the rubber ducks in the pool in front of the restaurant! (Some smart designers idea of being funny)
Nigel M — Google review
Nice hotel, room and view. However seriously let down by a few points: 1) food choice extremely limited 2) transfer from airport not organised properly; 3) air con in gym very weak; 4) shuttle car not at level expected; 5) staff -some lovely and some very unhelpful; 6) beach utterly dreadful. Overall much to like but could be so much better with attention to a few areas. Also not in the slightest kid friendly with very small pool and surrounding area.

Great visit. Beautiful views of the city and the bay. Ideal for an afternoon stroll and discover this older part of the city. Beware of the cars. Some drivers were impatient with pedestrians and were honking to get fast through the narrow street.

Nice for an afternoon visit. Little streets with cafes and wine bars plus some nice views.

Giant bastion, when you aproach those walls from land it is like OMG. Inside is a small town with a church of John the Baptist. If you are lucky to get a parking place bellow the walls, otherwise park before the marine and have a nice walk through turist streets. Once inside encircle the walls and enjoy the view.

A beautiful natural gorge that you can swim in but very popular even on the stightly overcast day we visited.

Easy to reach, you have a parking 2 minutes walking in the nearby, it's the restaurant parking but if you have a coffee or a drink you cal leave the car. Good to have sea shoes because in the river rocks are slippery. Water is not too cold and you can see a lot of fishes. Really nice place!

Parc of Saleccia is a charming park in the Balagne area, offering a delightful experience for visitors. The park features a meandering pathway with informative boards and shady spots for relaxation. At the highest point, there's an amphitheater made of local rocks providing stunning views of the deep blue sea and white-capped waves. The park is well-maintained with lovely seating areas and a playground for children.
Such a lovely, peaceful place with an abundance of different plants. The animals are a really nice added extra. 11€ per adult.
Coralie P — Google review
Lovely, relaxing part where you can exhale and make your way around the park at your own pace. We took about two hours and enjoyed bench sitting, smelling the herbs and flowers, and hanging with the goats! Great place to unwind.
Alison C — Google review
Such a beautiful place. We loved everything about it, the people were very friendly, spoke English. The restaurant is only serving till 2pm, do be advised. They have cool drink and ice cream to cool down. The park isn’t too big, so it’s perfect for smaller children and in hot weather. There’s a huge playground, loads of space for kids to run around. Pretty seating areas in shaded spots. It’s very well maintained. I loved the gift store, it’s very cute. For the biggest impact, visit in spring or early summer.
Mona B — Google review
Lovely gardens showcasing all the local vegetation with a really nice restaurant making delicious salads and quiche. Also has a nice play area for kids and some donkeys and chickens. A highlight of our week in Calvi.
R P — Google review
Beautiful. A bit repetitive in the plant life but we'll sculpted and designed. The wire sculptures are a delight. An excellent playground for the children. Overall very nice but they need to add a lot more plant diversity and more water areas to attract insect, bird, and animal life.
Walter P — Google review
Very nice park, lots of flowers, makes for a lovely experience !
Elliott S — Google review
Set in the hills near to the Île Rousse in the north of Corsica, this parkland is well worth a visit. The gardens are well maintained snd there are information panels too. As we visited in October there were not too many flowers to see, but the general planting and borders would look lovely in Spring and summer. If you have time, have lunch at the café - the food is all from local producers and very tasty. We had an amazing croque Monsieur and a mixed dishes of local Corsican meats and cheese - lovely! The cats are very friendly too!

Plage de Lozari, a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, is a beautiful half-moon shaped beach located near LIle Rousse. It offers a stunning view of the mountains as its backdrop and provides free parking with some shaded areas. While there are only a few water sports available and no other facilities, visitors can bring their own picnic and drinks to enjoy. The crystal-clear water is perfect for swimming but caution is advised due to the quick shelving.
Stumbled across, spent the day at this gorgeous beach, white sands clear waters, a little cafe/bar/restaurant close by.

Extremely long beach, very clean water and sand with thick grains that do not easily get stuck and is super easy to clean. There’s free parking nearby, which is always a plus! One of the best beaches of northern Corsica in my opinion, super recommended!

Beautiful natural beach with great panoramic view of the surrounding nature and coastline
Jonathan — Google review
Plage de Lozari – wild beauty and peaceful vibes Plage de Lozari is a beautiful, natural beach on the northwest coast of Corsica. Even in peak August season, it feels spacious and relaxed, thanks to its impressive length (around 1 km). You'll almost always find a spot to enjoy — even without arriving early. This beach is ideal for those who prefer authenticity over commercial buzz. There are no sunbeds or public toilets, just two beachfront restaurants and a small rental shack for windsurfing, paddleboarding, and other watersports. The entry into the water is relatively steep, so keep an eye on small kids, but the water is crystal-clear and inviting. Perfect for nature lovers and independent travelers looking for peace, space, and a touch of wild Corsican charm.
Ondřej Š — Google review
Beautiful stretch of sand with mountainous backdrop. Free parking with some shade, a few water sports but no other facilities so pack a picnic with plenty of drinks. The water is crystal clear but shelves quickly so take care with children or non swimmers, however there are life guards. Worth staying later to catch the sunset after most of the crowds have gone home.
Sue — Google review
Awesome beach. I liked this the most as the water has awesome colors and it’s super clear, the sand doesn’t stick to you like glue and the entrance in the water is more abrupt and you don’t need to walk 1km to swim properly.

(Translated by Google) An unforgettable quad adventure in the heart of Corsica for Alsatians on September 13 The course was simply magical! We crossed breathtaking landscapes, between mountains, forests and wild paths. With every turn, the natural beauty of the island was revealed a little more. And what a surprise to come across animals in complete freedom: cows walking between the rocks, pigs strolling nonchalantly on the paths, and even horses which added an authentic touch to this challenging adventure. Mika perfectly knew how to balance moments of pure adrenaline with breaks to admire the panoramic views. Always attentive to the safety and well-being of the group, he also shared with us his anecdotes about his region, making the experience even more enriching. This quad outing in Corsica was a perfect mix between discovery of nature and immersion in local life. If you are looking for an extraordinary adventure, with a top-notch guide, I can only recommend this experience! (Translated by Google) We drove almost 2 hours from Propriano, for this hike that friends had done 4 years earlier... So we were warned... And yet we took a beating! Experiencing it is even better than describing it to yourself... Don't hesitate! You won't find more authentic and passionate than the one and only Mika. The landscapes are sublime from up there, the route passes through the small village of Renno, among animals, on the mountainside... Mika offers several stops to soak up and discover the valleys and Gulfs around. And before going back down, a short hike on foot for the last few meters to reach the highest point of the activity. You won't come back as clean as you started, but you'll be amazed. Thanks again Mika and long life to Quad Évasion 😉 from the 4 Lyonnais from the July 19 9 a.m. session. A few technical paths to pass after the storm three days ago but the pace is flexible. Plage de Saleccia

Beach
Nature & Parks
Plage de Saleccia, located on the northern coast of Corsica, is often hailed as one of the most picturesque beaches in Europe. With its white sand, turquoise waters, and lush vegetation, it's no wonder this idyllic spot was chosen as a filming location for The Longest Day in 1962. Accessible by boat taxi from St. Florent or a scenic drive from Casta, this half-mile stretch of undeveloped coastline offers a serene escape.
Beautiful beautiful beach!! Truly stunning, feels like a tropical island. Only thing I’d say is walk down far to your right to feel like your away from the crowds + arrive around 2 and leave round 6/7 in late august + boats are expensive so expect to have 40/50 euro
LOUDHOUSE — Google review
We went to Plage Saleccia after seeing Bodri Beach, and this one is also lovely with soft white sand and very clear water. It was a bit busier though, with more boats, yachts and people around, so it didn’t feel quite as calm. It calmed down in the late afternoon as people were starting to take the return boats. We got there by boat, which was nice. Just a small tip: book early enough, and if you use GetYourGuide it’s worth checking with the operator directly to make sure your ticket is in order.
Eric H — Google review
Just an amazing beach! The sand is superb, the water is azure, and the wind is calm. However, you can't really get there easily: the "road" is 6 euro and if you don't have a tall 4x4 it's better not to go there. On the beach there's no toilet or change room, so be ready to share some of your secrets. It's not a lot of people, though.
Vlad K — Google review
Much better than the Lotu beach for sure. Nicer to swim and enjoy the beach with less people. The trip back with zodiac was also a nice occasion, for which it's kind of a must for the return.
Mustafa U — Google review
Fantastic beach. I like the way to get there. There is no road. But with a motorcycle or a 4x4 car you can get there. The beach is very clean. The sand is fine but not more fine than on the other side like at Bastia. You can be shure that everyone on this beach has made a special effort to come here. There are sometime cows on thr beach. The cows like to play with some visitors. This plage is one of the most difficult to get there.
Reviewer C — Google review
Nice beach, but nothing ‘special’, loads of nice beaches in Corsica that do not require an hour off-road driving (10 kms) to get too! A nice sandy long beach, but the snorkeling was disappointing. Maybe a visit by boat would be the best option.
Nigel M — Google review
This beach is extraordinary special and located very nice. The scenery is just great. Clear water and white sand makes you feel like in the Caribbean. During the main season it's often crowded, but still worth a visit. You can go by 4 wheel drive from Casta or by boat from St. Florent. Or by your own car, and without 4 wheel drive it will take some hours to do down the earth road. Close to the beach there's the famous camping site and on the other end of the beach a very nice beach restaurant hidden in the pines. Definitely with a visit.
Daniel B — Google review
One of Corsica’s finest beaches—and worth every bit of effort to reach it. Getting there isn’t easy, but it is doable with a standard rental (we managed in an Opel Corsa). Allow roughly 45 minutes for the drive; the road is bumpy, rocky, unpaved in most places, and requires slow, careful navigation but the standard ride height is enough for this road (full cover recommended tho) Your reward? Sweeping turquoise water, powder-soft sand, and the unforgettable sight of white cows lazing right on the shoreline. A small beach bar serves snacks and cold drinks; card payments are accepted for purchases over €20. Tip: start early to avoid the midday rush, and keep an eye on your fuel—there are no services along the final stretch. Enjoy the adventure and the view!

Plage de Tamarone is a hidden gem along the stunning Sentier des Douaniers, the 12-mile Customs Trail that winds through northern Cap Corse. This serene beach boasts soft, latte-colored sand and is surrounded by lush foliage and rugged granite formations typical of the region. Even during peak summer months, it maintains a tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for those seeking relaxation away from crowded shores.
One of my favorite beaches. The water is beautiful and you can observe a very dense sea life. We got to see so many creatures. The main beach nevertheless gets quite crowded So I highly recommend d simply walking a couple of minutes and find a nice little place to stop.
Emma B — Google review
After the recent storm on July 15, the beach turned into a very unpleasant place with LOTS of algae that noone is cleaning or moving to the side. Meters of algae along all beach line which is stuck into heavy smelly piles with dead medusa. You will have to walk through this mess for 5-7 meters before entering clear water and often you get stuck. We couldn’t stay and left. It’s such a disappointment. We have been coming to this beach every year since 2016.
Shadow — Google review
The beach is good to have a drink but it's not ideal for swimming. There is a lot of seaweed in the water.
Emre Ö — Google review
The beach is really dirty. There's dead seaweed all over the beach (which is a mix of pebbly and sandy) and then there's seaweed in the water. Once you get past it it's quite nice. The water gets deep gradually and the waves are quite large but it's not the nicest beach I've been to
Sunny A — Google review
Pretty rough road up the last kilometres, so be carefull! Other than that a good beach with plenty of room. Tho the storm has washed up alot of algea that is not cleaned, and no obviois possibility for showering makes it troublesome.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with San Paulu, a delightful boat tour that takes you from Macinaggio to Barcaggio and back. Experience the stunning coastline of Cap Corse as you glide over sparkling turquoise waters. The knowledgeable captain shares fascinating stories about the region, while the friendly crew is always ready to engage and answer your questions. A highlight of this journey is the chance to witness dolphins in their natural habitat—an exhilarating sight that can leave you breathless!
Amazing experience! The boat arrived on time and took us to Macinaggio in just 45 minutes. The boat is spacious and also the crew is super. Would totally recommend, especially if you need to go back after the sentier de douaniers.
Elena G — Google review
We had a wonderful moment on tour last weekend with San Paulu from Macinaggio to Barcaggio and back. The weather was perfect and so the views of the coast we had were just breathtaking, the water was sparkling turquoise! We learned many new interesting stories about Cap Corse from the Captain, plus the crew working came to speak with us at the front of the ship to answer some extra questions we had. Very lovely staff ☺️👍 and BIG SURPRISE, we unexpectedly saw dolphins!!! Which was not planned as part of the tour we chose!! SECOND SURPRISE - we saw the famous cows on the beach!! I overheard one of the crew members telling a group of passengers who were planning to hike to keep their distance from the cows (including calves) when they hike past them, for the safety of the people and for the tranquility of the animals. I appreciated hearing this, as I am a big animal advocate and am happy to see a company doing their part to protect the animals 👏 👏 Needless to say, we are very happy with our choice to see Cap Corse by boat with San Paulu. We will definitely book again for the return transport offered to hikers from the Sentiers des Douaniers.

A lifelong dream came true – seeing dolphins in the wild, right where they belong. We were lucky enough to see between 20 and 30 dolphins swimming freely around us. It was an unforgettable experience. It was the highlight – and also the final day – of my holiday. It couldn’t have ended any better. I would book this tour again without hesitation every time I visit Corsica. Thanks a lot for the possibility.

We were able to visit this old "Citadel" in the busy tourist beach town of Saint-Florent, Corsica, France, yesterday with our grandson. We were delighted to discover a free parking area near the ancient fortress and actually there happened to be another free parking area even closer to the castle above our spot. There are remnants of the ramparts which are easily accessible by foot. The views of the town of Saint-Florent are quite stunning from up here and make for some gorgeous photos. It was just a mere pittance one paid to enter the castle which was built in the 15th century or 1439. As luck would have it there was an interesting Corsican art exhibition on the top floor along with detailed descriptions of construction of this amazing fort. We highly recommend you make this one of your stops before or after you partake of the many water sports down below the "Citadelle." Thanks so much "Citadel" of Saint-Florent as you really impressed us Floridians from the U.S. of A.

Absolutely loved it! I hadn't spend that much time in a museum. They displayed several objects, machinery and tools used in the Corsican daily life of the last century. The history of the beautiful Cittadella is well explained and it's accessible only through the museum.

This informative and enjoyable ethnographical museum showcased the life of the Corsican people. The audio-guide in multiple languages was a great addition, enhancing the experience. The comfortable environment, with good air and AC, made it a pleasant visit. The polite and friendly staff further contributed to the positive atmosphere. The ticket price of 5.5 euros per adult was reasonable. The museum also delved into the lives of women on the island, providing valuable educational insights. Included in the ticket was the opportunity to explore the citadel, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was great and recommended visit. 😊

It is a nice museum founded in old fortress, but there is one problem. All in french, There is a lot to see of old Corsican Life, how they lived centuries ago. And the ticket was only 3€ so that is a plus. From museum you can follow the path to the old castle.

Absolutely loved it! I hadn't spend that much time in a museum. They displayed several objects, machinery and tools used in the Corsican daily life of the last century. The history of the beautiful Cittadella is well explained and it's accessible only through the museum.
Ricard G — Google review
This informative and enjoyable ethnographical museum showcased the life of the Corsican people. The audio-guide in multiple languages was a great addition, enhancing the experience. The comfortable environment, with good air and AC, made it a pleasant visit. The polite and friendly staff further contributed to the positive atmosphere. The ticket price of 5.5 euros per adult was reasonable. The museum also delved into the lives of women on the island, providing valuable educational insights. Included in the ticket was the opportunity to explore the citadel, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was great and recommended visit. 😊
N.O.D M — Google review
It is a nice museum founded in old fortress, but there is one problem. All in french, There is a lot to see of old Corsican Life, how they lived centuries ago. And the ticket was only 3€ so that is a plus. From museum you can follow the path to the old castle.
Rok S — Google review
The museum itself may not be quite interesting but it is the way to go to citadel which has magnificent views. Best to take train from Corte railway station. Park your car for free there. Museum will be half price (2.5 euros per person) with train tickets (7.5 euros per person)
Kushant V — Google review
I would not go to Corte just for this museum but if you are here for other reasons, the cheap ticket definitely makes it worth a short visit. I found at least three very very interesting items in the museum and a tour of the fortress is rather enjoyable. (5 euro)
Emiliano V — Google review
Interesting museum. I was hoping for more focus on the history of Corsica but the other exhibitions were interesting as well. Not much in English.
Jyrki H — Google review
Very fun museum, it shares a lot of the history here in the fortress and also about Corsica it self. It shares info on how they lived. Also nice to go inside to cool down a bit. To get down to the nitty griddy , fun museum to visit.

Corsica Ferries Bastia

Mentioned on

Ferry service
Transportation
Corsica Ferries Bastia is a popular destination in the north of Corsica, strategically important for its proximity to mainland France and Italy. The city offers a delightful atmosphere with numerous cafes, restaurants, and colorful streets. It's also a great spot for mountain biking enthusiasts due to its breathtaking scenery between seas and mountains.
Excellent boat, very modern, service no delays, efficient and friendly staff.
Rob S — Google review
I was looking forward to our six and a half hour journey from Bastia to Nice on Corsica Ferries, but I must admit it turned out to be a terrible experience. The staff were extremely unhelpful and miserable. It was as if they were being made to work and didn't want to. Their attitude was abysmal. The food, which I expect to be expensive on a ferry, truly was expensive with a 500ml bottle of still water costing €2.90. The music on the sundeck was far too loud and someone somewhere kept flicking from track to track part way through a song. The dreadful music is not necessary in this day and age where passengers can choose to listen to what they like on their smartphones. All in all I'm glad I won't be travelling with Corsica ferries ever again.
Anthony F — Google review
The worst crossing ever with this company on Mega Express 5. The personnel were unprofessional and unhelpful. The smell of sewage throughout the accommodation was overpowering. The staff in the Gusto restaurant overcharged for drinks and refused to reimburse the difference. No more than theft. They refused to call a supervisor when requested. The vessel is old and in very poor condition. Flooring is filthy, cabin in need of repair and the structure on the car decks showing signs of cracks.
Gordon F — Google review
My suggestions for improvement: The staff on the Livorno ferry could definitely be friendlier. A more polite manner and greater willingness to assist would significantly enhance the travel experience. The ferry seems to be in an outdated condition and requires renovation. New carpets, chairs, and overall modern furnishings would uplift the onboard ambiance. If dogs are allowed on board, appropriate facilities should be provided for them. Artificial grass and clean disposal options for dog waste would be a welcome improvement. The conditions of the onboard sanitary facilities are unacceptable. Cleanliness and hygiene should be top priorities and urgently improved. Surveys should inquire about the status of the pool if it is actually in operation. The information should be current and relevant. The website is also in need of improvement to better inform customers about the services and the condition of the ferry. The Wi-Fi code didn't work, which was a frustrating experience. Likewise, the booked Express Boarding did not function as expected. My opinion on the crossing: Overall, my experience on this ferry was disappointing. The staff's rudeness, the poor condition of the facilities, non-functional Wi-Fi, and the disappointing Express Boarding all marred the experience. The cabins were acceptable, and I appreciate the honesty of the staff when my wallet was found in one of the cabins. Boarding in Bastia went smoothly, and the staff there were more polite. Nevertheless, there is an urgent need for improvements on this ferry to justify the high prices. The information on the website should be updated to better inform future passengers and avoid disappointments.
Alex B — Google review
Good experience but survive could be better and food onboard was pricey

Ferry from Nice to Bastia was nice. Onboarding was super fast. Room was clean , food was ok. It was quite fast. We reached quite fast, less than 9 hrs. Overall really good experience
Nikunj P — Google review
Set off late by about 20 minutes and arrived at Bastia port on Corsica at about 1 am instead of 11 pm, but the voyage was smooth and the sunset was awesome.
Angela B — Google review
I took the ferry to Bastia and back. 1. The WiFi does not work at all. DON'T PAY FOR IT 2. The bathrooms were extremely FILFTHY they are not cleaned during or between the trips. It was absolutely disgusting. 3. Smell of diesel was everywhere I almost vomit.

Hiking Trails
Located near the town of Porto in western Corsica, Cascade des Anglais is a popular destination for nature lovers. The hike to the waterfall takes you through beech forests and past a ruined castle, offering a straightforward trail suitable for families with older children. The route follows the river, providing plenty of shade and opportunities for swimming in natural pools along the way.
Beautiful place to see and to be able to swim in a crystal clear water. Be careful which ‘road’ you are taking as we started from the parking indicated by Google map that goes through an old castle (Le Fort de Vaux) and this ‘road’ needs some equipment like very good shoes. We did it with a 6 years old, but I will suggest to start from the ‘Acrobranche’ park where another road start. A last comment on the amount of water in the cascade that seems to be a bit small … climate change first consequences …
Gerald G — Google review
This is an absolute must-see in Corsica. Easy track to the waterfall and you can go into any of the natural pools around. The water is quite cold, but dont miss the opportunity to climb under the waterfall, its an experience for life 👌🏻
Laszlo H — Google review
We took the slightly trickier but worthwhile route via the Fort. Take the path that runs around the front of the fort that leads generally east through the forest. This descends gradually before emerging into a boulder strewn slope. Cross this maintaining your altitude and into more woods. Follow the sound of the waterfalls and you emerge around 2/3 of the way up the waterfall system. This is worth it as you will find some quieter pools that you may have to yourself. One or two are deep enough to bathe (but not big enough to swim) in. It is peaceful, other than the white noise of the water and on a sunny day it is blissful, idyllic and a delightful sun trap. Well worth a visit.

If you want to lose track of time while having fun, that’s the place to go!! If you feel adventurous, you have many tracks for free climbing, where you can push your limits or just enjoy going from 1 tree to another one! You can also enjoy the scenery, beautiful landscape around!! The equipment is very good and very recent, easy to use! Also you will have a briefing at the beginning to show you how to use your ropes, very good! Enjoy!

Parc Galea is an intriguing medium-sized museum set in a beautiful garden in Corsica. This unique park offers a captivating concept where visitors can walk through the garden and learn about the history, music, films, and people of Corsica. Despite being primarily in French, non-French speakers can still appreciate parts of the park, although their overall experience may be somewhat limited.
Lovely afternoon here, much more to it than expected. Great photo oops with the spectacular plants and interesting museum installations. We all loved the barefoot trail too.
Louise M — Google review
Great experience here the nice lady on reception gave me some guidance in English on how to best enjoy the park. Just not 5 stars as some of the audio elements in the museum were not working.
Tom W — Google review
Sadly all the exhibitions are in french only, but google translate can help you. Covers a wide field of topics and a lot of cacti, like an awesome lot
Mr Z — Google review
Great medium sized museum, parc, garden. The concept of this parc is interesting; you walk through a garden occupied by all the major plants of Corsica, with rooms filled with facts on the people, its intriguing history, music, films, etc. We enjoyed it very much. It took us 2 h. Even if it was a little rainy. For our two daughters the "nude" foot path was very enjoyable, running, feeling - fun. Most of all i liked the the way this parc stepped away from regular musea, walking in a parc that teases the visitor to look right and left is great.

Csilla T — Google review
Beautiful place to spend few hours, both for adults and kids. Very interesting display of Corsican history, impressive cactus all around and a funny "bare foot" track for kids where my daughter enjoyed very much. Just missing (at least at the time of my visit, early September) some solution to get a drink....it can be very hot and if you don't have water with you it can be not so funny, even a simple vending machine would do.
Enrico P — Google review
Nice park which explains the history, flora and fauna of Corsica. Unfortunately all animals are just shown via pictures and all signs and explanations are only in French. The park has a strong focus on cactus. For my children the barefoot path has been the highlight.

Cascade De L'Ucelluline

Observation deck
Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Cascade De L'Ucelluline is a stunning waterfall that can be reached in about 90 minutes from the main road. The hike to the waterfall is suitable for children aged around 12 years and rewards hikers with a refreshing swim in the water basin. Visitors driving from below will be surprised by this beautiful sight after passing through a tunnel, with a small parking lot available before the tunnel.
You can park by the side of the road on a quiet day and walk a short distance to the Cascade. Driving slow is recommended when you reach the small tunnel right before the end, as it is dark and only wide enough for 1 car. If you're looking to make the climb up to the waterfall, wear shoes with good grip because the rocks are quite slippery, but the experience is worth it
Christy S — Google review
Amazing and beautiful place. Free parking by the road and a little bit difficult access but our 5 and 8 years old kids did it with no problem. I suggest to wear hiking shoes and if you visit Corsica, this is a must see place.
Sanja R — Google review
Narrow road with limited parking. The short walk from road to the waterfall is very steep and marked “dangerous”. If you’re more or less fit it should not be much of a challenged. Going without shoes is better than going with slippery/unsafe footwear!

Beautiful spot to visit. To go up or down waterfall be prepared to wear trekking shoes. Keep kids safe and secure as paths leading to the bottom or top are very steep and dangerous. There's no hand rails you can use to secure yourself.

Interesting museum and ruins that are worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. The views are beautiful too!
John H — Google review
Lovely views, especially from the roof of the Genoese castle. Roman remains on a hillside for the keen. Restaurant with great views but don't expect staff to serve you food of any kind after 2:30 pm. Instead there is a lovely friendly bar on the way to the Roman remains where they will make you a sandwich or salad any time.
Nicholas S — Google review
A nice few hours spent here just ambling about the place. The entrance fee is very reasonable at €4 per person and that allows you access into the museum and grounds. The museum is lovely with some interesting artefacts on Roman life. Although all the information in the museum is in French, if you don’t speak/read French you can easily identify the items. It is good to see when walking around the ruins where some of the items were discovered (marked by signs). It would have been interesting to see the Amphitheatre, however, this is still undergoing conservation/protection.
Craig F — Google review
Nearly impossible to find this huge area due to the lack of signs. DONT park in the parking lot, IF u find it. Keep driving up the hill and park next to the museum. You must go in the museum and buy a ticket, then make a long walk to the ruins. Most of the site roped off. No access to amphitheater. Only partially excavated. Not a lot to see.
Robyn L — Google review
Aleria’s Roman ruins make for a perfect little detour if you’re craving some history with your sunshine. You buy your ticket at the museum (heads up: all signs are in French, so bring your best Google Translate skills). After that, you’re free to wander through the excavation site itself—super cool to walk where the Romans once did! The amphitheater was closed when we visited in May ‘25, but there’s still plenty to explore. Oh, and do Mother Nature a favor: if you spot any trash along the way, pick it up and help keep this amazing place just as beautiful for the next curious explorer
Raoul — Google review
Guided tours are so much fun! The lady was super nice and she stopped anytime we didn't understand something
Betty F — Google review
The April weather was really nice so we enjoyed staying at the historical site for a longer time, and we counted on Google to get more details about the life of the ancient Roman people. The museum focuses on the remains found in the cemetery. It was well presented but lacked information that can catch the attention of a 10 year old. We found the price very fair and hope we could support the site. Improvement tips: Take example of Vindonissa in Switzerland, where children can really get into the life of ancient Roman people.
