Spiaggia di Procchio, located in Marina di Campo, is a 1 km long beach divided into three sections. The first section is the largest and offers sandy shores along with restaurants and services. The second section features a mix of sand and small pebbles, providing calm waters suitable for children. The third section is the smallest and offers a tranquil environment with gentle waves. Visitors can enjoy various public areas, clean water, and stunning scenery at this popular beach destination.
Nice big sandy beach! Not worse than Cavoli, if you want more space and some waves- it's perfect!
Elena S — Google review
The water is murky, with a greenish tint and a greasy film floating on the surface. It looks polluted and unappealing, making it hard to enjoy swimming or relaxing by the shore :( I recommend the beach in Pomonte; it's great for snorkeling.
Marina M — Google review
Green green green water… Beautiful sand and well served beach A nice amount of free beach too. Sea is not nice. Fluorescent green color 😔 i was relying on reviews talking about beautiful clean sea at Elba island, so far i just saw one so so spot and two terribile green. The island itself is very charming and has great vibe but sea is far from nice and clean, unfortunately. And the prices of hotels restaurants and the rest is as you were at Bora Bora… Don’t waste time and money if you’re looking for nice waters. If you’re up for hiking n camping yes.
Katarina P — Google review
This is a 1 km long Beach divided in three, the first one is the bigger and it's covered in sand, here you can find restaurants and services. Next is a smaller beach covered in sand and small pebbles, here water is calmer and it's perfect for small children, you can find one of the best lunch restaurants there called la Guardiola. Last is the smaller beach, it's the calmest both in noise and waves. The water here is the cleanest but there are lot of poseidonia, a water plant, so if you're scared I don't recommend coming here. Overall the beach is well furnished with all types of services ranging from tennis courts to pedaló and canoes.

Great bay, beautiful sandy beach, great food and friendly service at the Tahiti beach restaurant and a gorgeous polyglot sailing school: Elba Water Sports

Cute little town on a beautiful sand beach. Make sure to have lunch at Hotel del Golfo. The catch of the day is especially delicious.
Erik M — Google review
Great beach with various public areas, amazing scenery, clean water. At the far right end, there is a protected shallow bay that seems like a kiddie pool it's so warm.
Melanie M — Google review
This beach wasn’t our first choice, we ended up there due to road being closed for bike races, but it turned out to be one of the fines beaches we’ve been on Elba. Sandy, flat and with plenty of bars, water rather shallow and very clean

Sady beach with a lot paid sunbeds and sunscreens. Limited places for sand laying. Parking on the slope - sideroads. Paid parking 15€ a day, 12€ from 13.30. many bar options.
Ivan J — Google review
Amazing beach! Our favourite on Elba, highly recommend to spend your day here! Snorkelling is fantastic as well.
Alona B — Google review
Great beach. White sand and easy to go into the water. Standing is possible for 10-15 meters and there are also various opportunities such as banana or sofa rides. Most spots are occupied by sunbeds from hotels or to purchase. Only trouble is parking and spots for your own umbrella
Moritz K — Google review
A destination for a romantic sunset view or a quiet getaway to chill and watch the sunset, along with a brilliant beach bar 🍸🍹
Stacey P — Google review
Nice sandy beach with good terrace/ restaurant and beautiful view. Beach is excellent for children, you can walk in to the see for like 50 meters.
Martijn B — Google review
Maybe it's because it's August, but too crowded, high prices, and the sea wasn't as good as the pics
Alberto C — Google review
It is an excellent beach to spend holidays. Though too many people gather specially during July and August, you can still have your space as it covers huge area. The sea is excellent. Views are great. Perfect place for a change.

Spiaggia di Sansone is a stunning beach located on the Island of Elba in Tuscany. It features a rocky shoreline, clear swimming waters, and surrounding cliffs that create an intimate and picturesque setting. The beach is known for its transparent waters, making it ideal for snorkeling with caves, ravines, and rare fishes to explore. Named after the mythical character Samson, this no-frills beach is adorned with small white pebbles and crystal-clear waters.
it's a hidden gem perfect for those looking to escape the more crowded tourist spots. The beach is accessible via a short but steep path, adding a sense of adventure to your visit. For a day at Spiaggia di Sansone, "Elba island travel guide 2024" by Margaret D. Montgomery is an excellent choice.
Abioye E — Google review
Absolutely magical beach. We were blown away! The water is perfect. May was the perfect time to come as there was nobody around.
Chloe S — Google review
Great beach, bring water shoes to be optimally comfortable. With flip flops or sandals you won't be comfortable, the beach is made of little rocks that go under your feet and hurt a little. The beach can be accessed with a 10 minute hike, nothing major but not accessible with wheelchairs or strollers. The bar on top of the beach is great for a snack and a drink.
Matteo V — Google review
We read a lot of reviews before going and only read come early to get a free parking. Early means prior 8.30 I would say, we were there at that time and already looked pretty full. LOOK AT THE SIGNS on the street! A lot of people parked on the street and ended up with a fine about 29€. At the point it is better to pay for the parking which costs 18€. The parking also has limited spaces available. To go to the beach you have to walk a bit, the way goes down and then back up. You will first find a small beach and then the Sansone beach. You can get umbrella and sunbeds for 40€ for the entire day. The beach at 10 is already full and packed. Forget about having a lot of space, where your towel ends another begins. Except of that the water is crystal clear and it is very beautiful 😊.
Denise C — Google review
I visited Spiaggia di Sansone beach on Saturday and was truly impressed! The beach is beautiful with clean sand, and the water was warm and crystal clear, just like in the photos. The water was so transparent that you could easily see the fish and pebbles on the bottom. It’s a perfect spot for both relaxing and swimming. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates natural beauty and cleanliness. A truly amazing place!
Liivia P — Google review
Definitely the number 1 of Elba. You have a good walk to get there up and down, steep at time and with steps, so not recommended to those with limited mobility, and no for small kids. The walk 15/20 min, was definitely worth it, we went there the 10 June in the morning 11 am and was already packed definitely a no go from now on until the end of the summer season to go back from September. Also you have a pay parking for 14 euro daily. The water is just stunning, swimming among fishes and white pebbles ! (This is the beach which is the image of the Acqua del Elba parfum ) You don't have a bar on the beach but one up few steps fee minutes walk. You have the sides with free beach and then the center with pay beds and umbrella as unfortunately most beaches in Italy (Islands and no)
Daniela M — Google review
Amazing beach, rocky instead of sand, but the water is incredible. Good spot for swimming and enjoying the day. There’s a small restaurant to buy snacks and drinks with and amazing view from the top. The parking situation is a nightmare. Make sure you arrive early as it gets crowded. Parking is done in the small mountain road and then you have to do a short hike downwards to the beach. This place is not accesible for wheelchair. Umbrellas and beach beds are available for rent however in small qty due to the limited space.
Cesar R — Google review
One of the most beautiful (perhaps the most beautiful) beaches on the island of Elba. Even on the way to the beach, where you walk for a while along a trail, there are stunning views of the crystal-clear emerald sea. The pebbles are white, the beach and the sea are clean, with a quick entry into the water. Sometimes, there are small waves, and when snorkeling, you can see fish or swim to other nearby beaches. Highly reccomended for people who wants to see beautiful beach and are not afraid of a small trail and people in the season.🤿🐠🌊

Gorgeous beach all in white and blue. The white stones are very pretty with the transparent sea. The whole beach and water was very clean. The beach is quite small and could be very crowded. We went at late afternoon and it was perfect as some people were leaving.
Tristan K — Google review
We’ve been to this beautiful beach with white stones. Takes around 10 mins walk but it’s totally worth it. Good for kids to play as well. Small restaurant serving Coffee/ice cream close by
M R — Google review
A breathtaking beach with white stones.Just next to the shore you can already see fish swimming around so it is a nice spot for children and of course for adults as well for snorkeling😊
Réka G — Google review
Rocky Beach. It's nice and suggestive but difficult to arrive and can get very packed of people. There is a little bar and public toilet on top of the mountain. There is the possibility to rent the umbrella but it's better to do it in advanced.
Gabriela F — Google review
A lovely beach, always seems to be a nice breeze there even in the August heat. There's a bar/restaurant. Lovely spot for swimming
Amy M — Google review
Stunning beach but quite small and very crowded. If you walk west at the end of the beach and you will cross the cliff you can find another part of the beach which is almost empty
Matteo V — Google review
Usually I would avoid stony beaches, but with Capo Bianco I felt in love. Great beach, parking available nearby and awesome for snorkeling.
Cristian H — Google review
Highly recommended this hidden gem. A bit away from the main beaches but a wonderful day swimming and snorkelling. It’s a stone beach so pack sandals and be sure to bring cash for parking, approx 6-10euros for the day. Well worth it!

Spiaggia delle Ghiaie is a stunning white pebble beach in Portoferraio, offering 400 meters of clear waters perfect for snorkeling. It is a favorite spot for diving enthusiasts and provides rentable chairs and nearby eateries. Accessible from the city, it is conveniently located and spacious enough to avoid crowds on weekdays.
Really nice beach with white round rocks. Water has beautiful blue color. Watch out for jellyfish farther from the shore. The beach is a bit crowded and Elba has many beaches to offer.
Aga O — Google review
Right in the city center and part of the protected beaches so you literally swim among seabreams and sea bass all around you ❤️ By being the city beach is overpopulated already from 10 June until end of August, would not suggest to go to until September or next year until June 15 max as the busy season is already on.
Daniela M — Google review
Such a nice beach! Transparent crystal water, not too overcrowded even on weekends, ideal for snorkeling, and the surrounding views are gorgeous. Make sure to have rubber shoes, as it's a rocky beach. I put 4 stars, because amenities are at a several minutes walking distance, and it's trickier with having umbrellas. Might not also be ideal for small children. All in all, the beach was beautiful.
Ina M — Google review
Beautiful!! Water was cold but refreshing! Gorgeous white pebbles and staff was amazing at Socorrista with beach chairs, very lovely
Jamie T — Google review
Right in the center of Portoferraio where the harbour is, you find this beautiful Pebble beach. Wonderful water and lots of bars and restaurants very close by. We rent two flats in a residence just near the beach. At night we strolled for the historical center and we saw Napoleon Bonaparte 's villa. Beautiful experience.
Sara L — Google review
Almost in the city centre, I could see an octopus and a moray eel few mts away from the shore. Hard to believe the port is so close. Older kids can learn to snorkel with great pleasure. For younger kids the water get deep quickly so you need to watch them out more carefully than in other places
Chico — Google review
Fantastic best Beach ever water clear as glass. Nice pebbles on beach.Water warm and great for snorkeling.Must see!!
Virtual A — Google review
Nice beach with white stones so be prepared to wear some good footwear. Too many people in the month of July and if you want to have a good spot, be there before 8am! When it's crowded, many groups would want to stay closer to you so be sure to spread your towels and claim your space! Shadows start to occupy the place at around 3pm.

Seafood restaurant
Osteria La Torre di Populonia is a charming, intimate restaurant with an authentic and cozy atmosphere. The menu is exclusively in Italian, but the friendly waitstaff are more than willing to assist you in making a choice if needed. Their extensive wine selection is impressive, and the desserts are not listed on the menu but can be easily obtained by simply asking. Although it may be slightly expensive, the dining experience at Osteria La Torre di Populonia is well worth it.
Very nice restaurant. Small and authentic. The menu is only in italian avaiable but the waiter/waitress will happily help you out our you can just ask for a recommendation. The wine card is also huge. Desserts are not listed in the menu, you just have to ask which are avaiable in the moment. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it!

We recently had a great lunch here. Since it was so hot out, neither of us was very hungry. But we each had a delicious dish. I had a panzanella & vegetable dish with grilled and chilled octopus. Super refreshing. My wife had pasta with clams. Very good service and good food. This is a good place the eat. I recommend booking a table.
Jason L — Google review
We were staying in an apartment at the port of Baratti just below Populonia and stopped by without a reservation. The owner said we could only get a table if we liked fish. We love seafood so we were in. The wait staff were great. Very friendly and happy to make excellent recommendations. We ordered the tuna tartare, vongle and Branzino. All were excellent. In fact, I thought it was the best meal we have had in Italy since we arrived four weeks ago. We liked it so much we went back for lunch a couple days later. 5 stars!
C I — Google review
Exceptional food. Simple, light, letting the quality of the fresh seafood shine! I had the octopus on Cecina, fried anchovies, paccheri, orata. Everything was so good I came back the next day so I could try more things. Also they open early both for dinner and lunch which is a bonus. Per gli italiani: non vi sbagliate a venire qui.

Archaeological site
Sights & Landmarks
Baratti and Populonia Archaeological Park is a captivating open-air museum that showcases the rich history of the Etruscan civilization. Established in 1998, this park features ancient temples, industrial works, and monumental tombs. The site's origins date back to the early 1900s when locals discovered archaeological remains beneath layers of iron slag.
Fascinating place and definitely worth a visit. We have never seen anything like this in Europe, and it brought back memories of visits to Mesa Verde in the U.S.A. Amazing to see the Etruscan burial chambers which must have taken so much time to carve out of the rock. It's also a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours walking in the cool shade of the forest on a hot Tuscan summer day. The knowledable and friendly staff were great too! Don't forget to pop across the road to see the wonderful Baratti bay beach after your visit.
Villa T — Google review
Highly recommended archaeological site where you can learn more about the Etruscans and especially their tombs. Very extensive area, you should take a lot of time, you can easily walk 2-3 through the area. In any case, take something to drink, sunscreen and good shoes. There are also several guided tours per day, which are included in the ticket price and are held in English or Italian.
Andreas Z — Google review
Worth the visit because of the findings and above all because of the guides able to tell history in a funny and approachable way!
Emiliano M — Google review
Great Excavation site. Very impressive, especially the caved necropolis further up. It is definetly worth a trip. Make sure not to do it on the hottest day. There is not much shadow around.
Tim B — Google review
Overpriced, inaccessible by public transport, but the site is very interesting. You have to pay for parking too, more info available in German and Italian only. The cashier lady was very unfriendly after we did not understand well her English. You pay separately for zones or much more for the whole site. We visited the necropolis section which was very interesting though.
László K — Google review
We liked it very much! The ticket prices are not cheap, but reasonable. However, the price for all paths is a bit steep. We had not enough time for it, but would definitely go back!

Lovely unspoilt beach with beautiful clear sea that was actually quite warm. It is sheltered by forested area with plenty of parking on the road if it is not in walking distance but we stayed at the Hu Albatross holiday park so just walked across in 10-15 mins. Lovely beach, definitely recommend a visit

Wonderful Natural area. Free toilets and after-swim showers. All areas are maintained clean by the San Vincenzo municipality. Greatest service ever. There are many parking spots: 50% of them are free. The others cost €. 1.50 per hour.

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Located on the stunning Tuscan coast, overlooking the Etruscan Coast, Acquario di Livorno is a renowned destination for marine enthusiasts. Named after biologist Diacinto Cestoni, it houses an impressive array of marine life including blacktip reef sharks, sea turtles, seahorses, zebra sharks and Napoleon fish. The aquarium also features a section dedicated to insects, amphibians and reptiles.
The Livorno Aquarium offered us a very engaging experience. While seemingly small, its interior was spacious and well-organized. We were impressed by exhibitions of sea tortoises, crustaceans, mollusks, and coral reef fishes. We were also excited to discover living reptiles, amphibians, and a captivating ant colony on the first floor. It certainly holds its own individuality against other aquariums we've visited in Lisbon, Barcelona, Valencia, and Rotterdam.
Horia B — Google review
If you buy tickets in advance, entry is easy. When we were there it was a rainy day, and it was extremely busy. The aquarium is… nice. At best. Not necessarily worth a trip around. My kid liked the reptile space on the first floor the most.
Joost V — Google review
Was a bit skeptic because of the ratings. I think it was very interesting, the tanks were clean, there were lots of different species, and the ants on the first floor were something I have never seen before. Maybe a bit expensive compared to its size but it was worth for us.
Török V — Google review
Went yesterday with my wife during our trip. We saw an ad for it and was sold. And what a great experience it was. I truelly never witnessed a sea turtle up this close, let alone see it swim. The place is great and its a nice entertainment to go during a holiday
Klaas B — Google review
Visited the aquarium — honestly, a complete waste of time and money. Tickets cost €15, and for that price, you’d expect at least something engaging. But the place is boring, and has very few animals. The only interesting part was taking a photo — and that says a lot. From what was actually interesting: a few fish, two big turtles, and three small sharks. That’s it. If you just want to look at water, some gloves, and a few random fish, you don’t need to pay €15 — all of that is available for free in the sea right next door.

We had lots of fun here. We have been twice now and loved it both times. First time we went was middle of the week and found it wasn't too busy we could get a sunbed and lockbox very easily with plenty of spare beds around us. The second time we went was very busy and couldn't get a sunbed even with getting to the park within 30 minutes of it opening but we still had the best time. Found a lockbox free in the sun. So we could still have a picnic in the sun and sunbath in between rides! Very clean and friendly staff all around. I would recommend you book a sunbed online before hand if you are wanting one!!
Lauren D — Google review
The exhibits were captivating, showcasing a diverse range of marine life. The facility was well-maintained, and the informative displays added to the visit's value. A must-see for marine enthusiasts visiting Livorno!

Guests can enjoy great cuisine, delicious cocktails, and raw seafood while taking in the beautiful scenery.
This is my favorite bar in Italy! The owners are always so nice and welcoming. Their drinks and food are great tasting and great prices too. The atmosphere is relaxing and helps you appreciate the true beauty of Italy with the ocean view. A couple people play beautiful piano several days a week and my husband and I always love enjoying our drinks while listening. They also display beautiful local art pieces. Thank you to Giovanna and her husband for their amazing hospitality.

Spanning 70,000 square meters, this park offers a wide array of thrill rides and family attractions set amidst the lush greenery of a pine forest. Visitors can enjoy live shows, indulge in street food and sweets from various kiosks, and even grab a bite at the pizzeria or bar on-site.
We loved it! The whole family had a blast! We went there on a Friday and waiting times for the rides were not long at all. What we love: ✅ The park itself is not too big that it’s overwhelming ✅ Different rides for different age of kids ✅There are picnic areas so you can eat your self brought foods ✅There are many trees in the park, so you always have some shady areas to sit ✅Staff was always friendly ✅The shows they offer were entertaining There are also booths for you to buy food from Mexican tacos to French fries. We spent there the whole day and it was totally worth the money. We can totally recommend it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

A fantastic amusement park for both younger and older children, suitable for all age groups including adults. Everyone will have lots of fun here. The park is large, so you can easily spend the whole day there. The entrance fee is quite reasonable considering everything the park offers. There are many attractions, each with specific entry rules based on the child's height or age. The park is set in a pine forest, which provides plenty of shaded areas for resting away from the sun. There are also many food stalls, making it an ideal place to spend time with kids. Free parking is available just a few meters from the main entrance to the park. We’ll definitely come back. Fantastic! 😊👌👌👌

Cavallino Matto is a surprisingly fun amusement park. Beyond exciting rides like Freestyle and Jurassic river, its true charm lies in its beautiful pine forest setting, offering refreshing shade and a unique natural ambiance. It's a delightful blend of thrills and nature. Great for families.

Great little theme park, lots of rides for younger children but a few good thrill rides too. Almost no queues for virtually every ride makes the whole experience so much better than most theme parks and the staff generally very friendly as well. The setting amongst lots of trees makes it look good as well as providing lots of shade in hot weather.

A great place to have fun with your family. We visit the park every summer and spend the whole day there. The staff at the ticket office were absolutely wonderful, making our arrival smooth and enjoyable. They were incredibly efficient, getting everyone through quickly even during a busy period, and answered all our questions with a smile. We really appreciated their excellent customer service and positive energy. There are a lot of rides and entertainment to choose from. The Jurassic River ride is spectacular! We also appreciated the picnic area and the alley with the misting system, which made us feel so refreshed on ascorching summer day.
Inna K — Google review
Super friendly staff, nice set of diverse rides especially for smaller kids. It's great that the area is full of trees so there's always enough shade during hot weather. We experienced almost no waiting time for every attraction we tried. (Summer high season, but during a workday)

There’s nothing like italian theme parks, another one we were blown away by. We came with a 2 year old and even for him, there were so many rides and activities to enjoy. Great great experience, highly recommend, if you have a chance to go.

Great for young kids and families. Loads of rides of different intensity but hardly any queues in October. A couple of shows. Recommend bringing your own food and leaving it in the picnic area. No-one will touch it and you'll save a ton of money. The only water fountain with drinkable water is near the entrance so plan to go back there a few times during the day.

The Sanctuary of Montenero, also known as the Sanctuary of Lady of Grace, is a religious complex located on a hill in Livorno. It was built in the 18th century and is a popular pilgrimage destination due to its revered Madonna image. The sanctuary features an impressive church with late Tuscan Baroque architecture and an altar designed by Giovanni Baratta and Giovanni Antonio Cybei.
A must see when you get to Livorno. A peaceful sanctuary and it builds on the faith. Beautiful and splendour in every way.

Most impressive location with great view and many tokens of Catholic devotion. The church is located on top of a hill with a great view and inside you find a huge collection (over 12.000!) of tokens. Even if the religious part is not your thing, it's still worth a visit for the great view and the short trip by cableway.
Dan D — Google review
this is a beautiful monastery located in the hilltops above Livorno. It’s a short bus ride make sure the bus that you take is clearly marked Montenero because initially I took the one that went to the beach and so I had to take the different bus and I lost a half hour of time but no big deal still totally worth it. it’s about 45 minutes from the train station in Livorno. the views are beautiful especially on a clear day. And it has a electrically powered cable car system really it’s a funicular that continuously runs probably until about six PM and so make sure you check the timetables and don’t forget to validate your tickets on all the buses

Very moved by as well as interested in the folk art of the ex voto in the sanctuary - and the pharmacy selling bio products (tisanes, sweets, shampoo etc) is very good. Definitely worth a visit - especially if you combine it with a gastronomic pilgrimage to the fabulous Osteria fonte del penitente nearby (not the ones in the square in front of the sanctuary which are really grim)

Acqua Village Cecina is a large water park in Italy, featuring Hawaii-themed attractions such as serpentine slides and wave pools. Visitors recommend trying the Volcano ride, which offers an exciting experience inside the mountain.
Very nice water park and we were there out of season (begin of September) There was no crowd. Barely any wait time on the slides. Best part is the safe for 3 Euro extra that's attached to each of the umbrellas where wallet and phones can be stashed easily and secure while everyone enjoys the park. So you can have fun as family worryfree

A lot of fun, clean and a lot of green grass and palm trees. Reasonable prices for food, drinks or icecream. I would go for 5 but no family ticket available ... there were an option but starting in the future and my review is for today.
Cosmin C — Google review
The park was extremely overcrowded, and the queues for the slides were 1–1.5 hours long. We were able to use the slides only 5–6 times in a whole day. The pool was chaos — children were falling on each other, people were jumping in from the side, and there weren’t enough lifeguards to keep everyone safe. If you’re in Tuscany, you’d be better off exploring the beautiful nearby villages and beaches instead of spending your holiday waiting in lines here!

If you need action for the kids, this is the place to go. There's free parking, just need to drive past the big parking in front of the entrance. It will be on the left then. The park is really great, clean. For a locker and a sun lounger, you will have to pay. There is really no need for a lounger, though. Just bring enough towels along. There is enough space with shade under the palm trees or the umbrellas. Great allergy management, just need to ask, and the staff is more than helpful finding the right stuff to eat. Slight dow side is the waiting time for the watersides..this can take a while. So it's best to arrive shortly after the park opens and stay until closing time to get the max out of the slides.
Chris P — Google review
The water park is very nice, clean, but I do not recommend visiting it. There are incredibly long waiting lines for the water slides. There is no qualified staff, they do not have a system for letting people on the water slides. The owner should reconsider how many people they let into the park so that you get adequate entertainment for the money you pay. You can only enjoy the view of the palm trees while waiting in line for the water slides.

Went in mid August expecting it to be super busy but was relieved it was fine. Kids loved it! i loved it. Things were very clean and rides fun and safe! main water park areas were beautiful! definitely reccommended!
Rayzr — Google review
The park looks good and is nicely laid out and has a decent selection of food outlets etc. The wave pool is good fun too but unfortunately the queues for the bigger slides are ridiculous. They simply don't have enough of the inflatables for going on the slides in circulation. Most of the time the carriers bringing the inflatables up were 2/3rds empty so just down to poor management or being cheap.

Amazing pleace, it is not a usual zoo, everything looks like a real jungle, and you even get some piece's of history in there, you can also have a picnic there, really and amazing and fun place to be, i was there for 3h and never got bored, and j would go again
Dennis99 — Google review
As a positive there is a smart one way system, lots of shade and animals usually had decent enclosures. Not necessarily believe all the animals they claimed were actually there. Missed a lot. The place was really quiet on our visit. I would say the prime time is already gone and some maintenance and a nice makover would be welcome. At the end of the day it is still a nice experience.
Tomasz L — Google review
I felt really discouraged by the bad reviews, but my family and I decided to visit this zoo anyway. The experience turned out to be great. The animals looked relaxed, well kept, we were able to see so many of them, even though most of them had a more private area to hide in their enclosures. I loved the path idea, we didn't have to wander and miss anything. Lots and lots of greenery and most of the path was in the shade, it almost felt like a jungle (beware of the mosquitos though). Kids playground and other common areas could use some renovation, also the little exhibitions were a little weird, but it didn't affect the whole experience
Ieva S — Google review
Amazing zoo !! Many animals…great experience. Don’t forget to bring mosquito repellent, or buy at the entrance…it will change your life there. Adults 15€, kids under 2yo free entrance.
Elran M — Google review
Nice little calm relaxing zoo with some amazing animals (aguti, swamp cat, capibara, serval, etc.). You meander maze-like (but well signposted) along. The whole aerea is well shaded by thick green bushes, trees and bambooish greenery. On hot days a real treat. The zoo might have seen better days, but the animals are well kept and in good shape. Their enclosures offer to the animals space and protective hiding places to retire from the visitors' all too curious glances. Beside marsupials and mammals they have a wide range of exquisite birds from places all over the world. Another part of the zoo is dedicated to farm life. Bovines and ovines from most continents but above all also local breeds are to be admired. It is a pity though that all the descriptions to the animals are presented only in Italian. But then again we are not in a massive tourist center. Another minus: some of the local exponates (beer cans, cigarette packages, etc.) on their shelves and vitrines along the tour are weirdly outdated. Others exponates such as the agricultural machinery give the tour a nice touch. There should be more toilets, especially in the first part of the zoo. It ruins the walk if one has to sustain so long not knowing when there is finally relief. The zoo has a restaurant. The menu is small but the food is tasty. They serve good traditional primi and secondi piatti with specialities of the region - not the usual disappointing fast food you sometimes get in recreational parcs or zoos. A lot of local people stop to have lunch here. Good value for money.
Astrid C — Google review
Nice zoo with great animals ! Attention put a lot of mosquito spray or make your kids put long sleeves as there are PLENTY of MOSQUITOES!
Claudia V — Google review
To be honest, it is hard to get to & not worth visiting as a tourist. Also, some enclosures were not big enough for the animals. I didn't like the one way path it that you had to stick to either. The highlight was seeing a Fennec fox in the daytime although I think they are meant to be nocturnal No major animals like lions etc. not that we were expecting to see them here but just saying The waitress who served us lunch was not in a good mood

This bustling bazaar features over 200 vendors offering an array of clothing and accessories, making it a shopper's paradise. Every Wednesday and Sunday morning, visitors can explore stalls filled with exquisite linen shirts, luxurious cashmere shawls, and colorful Friulanas—all proudly made in Italy.
The Wednesday market in Forte dei Marmi is such a lovely place to stroll around. It has beautiful home accessories, lots of linen shops, and many nice things to see. Perfect for a walk and some shopping – I really enjoyed it!

Renowned and very popular. Fewer real bargains this year..few leather purses, but plenty of clothes, shoes, belts, linens. Inner row of vendors is more shaded and cooler!

I love Forte dei Marmi, since the first time I visited this beach side area around 5 years ago. Clean, luxury, safe and elegant are suitable words to describe this place. A must visit when you are in Versiglia area.

Sunset Versilia - Wine Bar & Restaurant

$$$$affordable
Cafe
Nestled at the end of the public wharf, Sunset Versilia - Wine Bar & Restaurant offers a unique experience that sets it apart from other spots in Camaiore. With stunning vistas of the Mediterranean Sea and the majestic Apuan Alps, this venue is perfect for those seeking a refreshing escape from the summer heat, thanks to its pleasant breeze. The attentive service enhances your visit as you indulge in delicious food that surpasses many local options.
Nice strong cocktails with an amazing view. You get a plate of finger food for each cocktail (about €10 for the drink and food). Wonderful spot where you can sit in the sun or shade. They also have bigger meals and a toilet which you'll need after your multiple drinks.
William G — Google review
A great spot to find a good drink and a great view. We got a Pina Colada fragola and it tasted great. Plus the addition of the included bar snacks made this a relaxing and enjoyable rest stop on our beach trip. Would recommend everyone give Sunset Versilla a try.

Breathtaking views with sunset. Good food and very kind people. Definitely recommend.
Antonio G — Google review
At the end of the public wharf - Sunset has what most other Camaiore locations lack - a beautiful view of the Med and of the Apuan Alps behind you. To boot, it has a cool constant breeze in the August heat. Server attitude was exceptional. Food was better than most places around here. I highly recommend it for a very pleasant relaxing experience.

Really good seafood and cocktails with a great view! Seafood restaurant that serves fresh fish for that day and doesn’t have a menu for lunch. Only downside are the prices are the highest I’ve paid in Italy! Paid around €50 for two mains and two aperol spritz.

Bagno Maurizio is a lovely beach spot that offers colorful rows of sun loungers, umbrellas and rental beach tents on the sandy shore. It also features a play area for kids, making it ideal for families with children. The beautiful sandy beach right by the water provides an excellent view of both the sea and mountains. Furthermore, it offers full umbrella and chairs rentals for 20 which also includes a change room to store non-valuable items safely.
Incredible, convenient, and wonderful experience at Bagno Maurizio! The rest of the reviews are truly spot on, including the generosity and warm welcome from Stefano. We were a little overwhelmed with the number of beach clubs available in Viareggio and are so happy we found Maurizio. We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend!

Maybe this is a place where you can trust all the comments. The beach is extremely tidy, the umbrellas and tents are comfy, and most importantly, Stefano and Claudia are such a treasure: you are welcomed with such a warm and friendly attitude, that you know that you will come back for sure. Stefano is around and can help you with everything. He is available on WhatsApp if you need any information. I can just highly recommend choosing Bagno Maurizio. Thanks for everything: Giorgio 😉

This is THE beach club! Stefano and Claudia are incredible hosts. Giving restaurant recommendations, calling for taxis. This isn’t just a business, you are family! Beautiful sea and beach with a variety of options, tents (cabana style) or umbrellas. We enjoyed our three days and will certainly return from our home in Orvieto. This is our Italian beach location.
Jeffrey D — Google review
Stefano and his colleague, whose name I unfortunately don’t know, provided excellent service! I waited about 20 minutes because there were other people ahead of me, but now that I know how great it is, I would gladly wait much longer! I went alone and paid only €10 for an umbrella, one sun lounger, and three chairs! I went out for lunch at 3 PM and came back at 4 PM, no problem at all! The locker cost €4 for the whole day, and I can go back to it as many times as I want — it works with our own fingerprint. Amazing! Highly recommend. A million stars! Thank you!

Maurizio beach is wonderful. Stefano who runs the family business is a lovely person who made us feel very welcome. The beach is exceptionally clean. The facilities are of a very high standard and very good value for money. €25 for two people for the whole day in August.

We were a group of 16 people and we had a really great day at bagno Maurizio. Stefano is the best guy here, friendly, funny and caretaking. The beach is really nice and everything is clean. Thank you for this nice experience.
Helen B — Google review
There are 50more sunbathing places left to right, you can choose any of those. But Stefano and his sister provides “family feel like” service. You gonna come here and you will immediately meet owners. They are gonna greet you like they know you for ages. You gonna feel something very strange: feeling that you belong here, that they have been waiting for you. Even if you sad, their faces will make you immediately smile and they will fulfill your day. Absolutely incredible service, bathing place, toilets and everything else. I will come back here every single time i am in Viareggio. Bars with food and drinks are there as well. Thank you!

Villa Puccini Museum, located in Torre del Lago, is a former lakeside villa that has been transformed into a museum celebrating the life and work of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. The museum offers guided tours where visitors can explore the elegant villa, which still retains its original appearance, and view manuscripts, personal items, photos, paintings, and even Puccini's piano.
A very beautiful villa where music composer Puccini lived. Newly renovated museum premises. Authentic rooms and objects in the museum. The villa is by a beautiful lake, on which you can take a boat ride.

Jo C — Google review
If you are a fan of Giacomo Puccini"'s work this is a must. His home and his personal possessions give an insight into the daily life of the man and the setting is beautiful. We took a short boat trip into the Lago Di Massaciuccoli which was well worth the money spent to see the whole setting.
Ian W — Google review
Villa Puccini in Torre del Lago is an interesting example of how the architecture and the concept of the "villa" itself was completely transformed in the period of Art Nouveau. This building has been for years the residence of Giacomo Puccini (the famous composer born in Lucca) who had chosen to live on the shores of Lake Massaciuccoli, a place he particularly loved for his beauty and tranquility. Today it is the seat of the Villa Puccini Museum, managed by the heirs of the Maestro and open to the public. The two-storeys building was designed by Giuseppe Puccinelli, it has a rectangular shape, and its decorations are very simple and linear. On the façade, a bow-window overlooks the small oriental inspired garden. The villa was made, in collaboration with Puccini himself, by De Servi, Galileo Chini, who made the fireplace, and Nomellini, who made the pictorial decorations on the walls. On the ground floor you can visit the chapel where the musician is buried, with two glass windows and two bas-reliefs.

Nestled in the charming town of Casciana Terme, the Terme di Casciana is a historic spa that has been welcoming guests since 1870. This upscale retreat features elegant accommodations and a full-service spa offering rejuvenating thermal treatments. Visitors can indulge in soothing hot tubs, invigorating massages, and refreshing al fresco bathing in beautifully designed thermal pools surrounded by lush gardens. The outdoor pool is particularly inviting, equipped with various water massage facilities that make for a delightful experience on warm days.
Good for swimming in the autumn and spring as the water is warm about 36 degrees Celsius. Good small relaxing break if you are somewhere in the vicinity of Pisa or Volterra

A beautiful thermal complex, with an open air pool, amidst a green garden, and a covered pool, along with other treatments. The outdoor pool is provided with all kinds of water massage equipment. The water is not so hot, but it is very pleasant on warm days. The only problem is that they dont provide you with a key for the lockers unless you pay extra. One more tip: if the coffee shop could provide food all day long, people would stay longer hours.

- Danish visitors with baby - We enjoyed the outdoor pool very much. On a Thursday in October, this was the perfect trip for our little family. The pool was not super hot, but hot enough for our girl to be super happy. The park behind the pool was very quiet, so it was possible for her to take a nap in the stroller while us parents relaxed on our towels im the sun on the grass. Be aware that most signs are only in Italian, but Google translate can help, and we quickly learned that piscina eksternal (or something like that) meant outdoor pool. The staff was friendly (as always when bringing a baby 😅) and could speak a little english. Also, we were not bothered with the insects a lot of other reviews mentioned. Maybe it varies through the day (evening?) and season.

Clean but a little tired. Had to pay to hire sun lounger. Nowhere to sit poolside without doing this.
Jason L — Google review
A useful and pleasant place to heal your body in the naturally warm spa waters. In garden there is a little kiosk serving snacks in summer and in the entrance hall there is a historical cafe bar with painted ceilings serving meals and pastries though cost is a little higher than usual, setting makes it worthwhile. Check opening days and hours beforehand as they frequently change at short notice although open throughout the year.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Currently, the place is horrible, dirty, and falling a part.. almost every where. Restroom are may be 40 to 50 years old... nothing works.. and did I say DIRTY... The only thing up to date is the price to get in... VERY EXPENSIVE... for what they offer..... that is NOTHING.... 18Euros per person.... really???? No Way.... Staff VERY unfriendly too... Do yourself a favor.... save your self money and do not go to this place
Paul H — Google review
A pretty Spa town with a pool etc. Easy access from Pisa and today there was a local market. Only a few shops but the Terme restaurant is great for a capochino. Not a great deal to see other than the Spa complex.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
We had a great tour and were lucky that Stella the English tour guide was there. There are a few things to know before you go! 1. There are different types of tours with different starting time and duration. So it's important to learn about it on their website and arrive accordingly. 2. It is strongly recommended to make a reservation specially if you want the English tour so the guide can be available that day. 3. You cannot do the tour without proper closed toe shoes. For the descent tour, you walk down 150-200 steps that are over 100yr old and stay wet! Get proper shoes! 4. The mine gets cooler as you go down to 55F or 14C. So bring a thin jacket even if it's summer! 5. The descent tour will be hard if you have bad knees, heart issues or claustrophobia. The descent tour took approx 1.45 hr. It's also recommended to arrive at least 15 mins early. My group felt that this was a unique and fun experience with a lot of history behind it. Yet it was so different from all the other things you see in Tuscany and the small towns. An absolute must do in the region. Stella was a great story teller and engaging.

A Hidden Gem in Montecatini – Fascinating and Unforgettable! We had an absolutely wonderful experience visiting the Museo delle Miniere in Montecatini. We explored both the above-ground exhibits and the underground mine, and we were truly impressed by the entire tour. Although the visit was originally scheduled to be in Italian, we were lucky to be guided by a young man who spoke excellent English. His storytelling was captivating—he brought the history of the mine to life with passion, clarity, and a deep knowledge of the subject. Thanks to him, we gained a much deeper appreciation for the hard work and history behind the mining industry in this region. The underground part of the tour was especially memorable. Walking through the tunnels and seeing the preserved tools gave us a real sense of what life was like for the miners. The museum is well-organized, informative, and full of character. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area—whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking for a unique and enriching experience!

Really enjoyed this, it was one of the highlights of our holiday. A fascinating journey back in time and being able to go 100m underground to see what it was actually like was great. Highly recommend this - don't miss it. Stella was a fantastic guide - very knowledgeable.

Our second visit: the buildings themselves (an old monastery I believe) are worth the visit alone! Wonderful exhibitions (dinosaurs at the moment) on top of the regular sections. Also a pretty impressive aquarium, but the star of the show is the cetacean section housed in a remarkable long gallery. Extremely kid-friendly. This place should be on everyone’s list if visiting central Tuscany.

This place is AMAZING! if you dont visit, you will regret it. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect as we drove up to what looked like an almost hidden building but what we found inside blew our minds. This museum is more than anything I could have dreamed up! My 2 year old LOVED it and every corner was something new to look at and be surprised by! 10/10 recommend going!!

We visited the Natural History Museum on a sudden impulse, and it turned out to be a great idea. The collection is wonderfully rich and beautiful, and I especially enjoyed the exhibition on prehistoric creatures. The building itself, a former Carthusian monastery, is stunning, and together with the exhibition it made the visit unforgettable. There is convenient parking lined with olive trees, and you can refill your water bottle with cold water for free. It’s worth planning even a full-day trip here. Some areas were temporarily closed, and in the aquarium a few large fish looked rather sad in relatively small spaces. But apart from that, it was an excellent experience and absolutely worth visiting!

The most exciting and biggest museum in the area, miles and miles of wonderful stuffed animals in dynamic poses, antique bones of all sorts, tropical dioramas, moving dinosaurs, live fishes, neanderthal reconstructions, a geology and flora garden, and such an antique wonderful environment!!!! Definitively impressive!! Next door you can also visit the original monastery in which the museum is located. You need to come early because the parking lot gets very crowded. You can bring your food and eat add the picnic area next to the parking lot.

This outdoor theater hosts an annual Andrea Bocelli concert, plus a statue that changes yearly.
Amazing atmosphere definetely. Too much traffic on concert day. Concert actually starts around 21:00 and assume long traffic to reach P2 parking. Good to be prepared for chill weather or rain drops. You park and walk in rural area so wear comfy shoes. Parking entrance with either online booking from Viva Tickets site (but they close the sales on the day) or cash (15 Euros in 2025) so be prepared
Merve M — Google review
A wonderful concert by Andrea Bocelli and friends in a lovely setting. A big disadvantage though are the queues for the toilets. Simply not enough. Trying to get a drink was a disaster! You have to queue for a long time to pay for the drinks and then join a longer queue to collect them. A totally inadequate and unsuitable system with not enough staff. It took over an hour to get a drink! That's simply unacceptable. I would rather go to another venue with better facilities and a more efficient system.

My second time at an Andrea Bocelli concert. The overall experience was beautiful as always, but logistics still need work. • Toilets: 10/10 — finally well organized and clean. • Bars: 5/10 — waited nearly an hour just to get a glass of prosecco. • Shuttle buses: 1/10 — chaotic and slow, took almost two hours to reach the parking lot after the show.

Very nice open area Theater. Big parking place. Good performance from maestro Bocelli.

We've booked the Andrea Bocelli concert tickets a year in advance. It's an experience worthy from all aspects. The excitement started from our home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, even before we boarded the plane. The arrangement was perfect. Timing of the pick up by our chauffeur and the journey to Teatro del Silenzio was pure pleasant. We were greeted by the welcome Prosecco produce of Bocelli himself. Food was abundant and delicious, served by friendly hostess. The concert itself was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany. Andrea and his friends ruled that night. It's magical and an experience of a lifetime. Thank you everyone for working so hard to make the concert a great success.

Andrea Bocelli’s concert in Lajatico was a breathtaking experience. His voice echoed through the Tuscan hills, blending perfectly with the serene setting of Teatro del Silenzio. Emotional highlights included Time to Say Goodbye at sunset and a touching duet with his son Matteo. A magical, unforgettable evening under the stars.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If I could give Arianna & Friends more than 5 stars, I would. When we were in Tuscany on our honeymoon, we chose to book 2 tours with Arianna & Friends. The first was a city tour of Volterra with a wine tasting and a truly fantastic lunch and experience at a local winery. Moira was our tour guide and she was so very wonderful, very knowledgeable and so spirited and personable. The second day was a tour led by Luca - a private 2 course cooking class (with chef Margarita) on Rita's farm, followed by a gelato tasting in nearby hamlet, Peccioli. This was an amazing experience. We both love cooking and were very excited to make traditional Tuscan dishes. Both Luca and Margherita made this already amazing experience even more memorable. Thank you so much, Arianna & Friends for the unforgettable experience. We will be back!

My husband and I decided to take a cooking class together just before our wedding day, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose Arianna & Friends, recommended to us by our wonderful wedding venue, Sassa al Sole. From the very beginning, the team was incredibly thoughtful and professional. They provided us with a wide selection of mouthwatering dishes to choose from — honestly, the hardest part was deciding what to make because everything looked so delicious! In the end, we chose the tricolore bruschette, gnocchi, and orange tiramisu — and every dish turned out amazing. The Arianna & Friends team traveled to us and set up everything beautifully at our venue. The entire team was fantastic, but we were especially fond of Ester and Alessandro, who brought so much warmth and energy to the experience. Each of us received our own booklet for taking notes and a keepsake apron to bring home, which was such a lovely touch. There was a perfect number of instructors for our group, so no one ever felt left out or rushed. The session was hands-on, engaging, and full of laughter. They even captured some candid moments of us cooking, laughing, and enjoying ourselves — memories we’ll cherish forever. What made it even more special was Ester taking a moment to give us hugs and wish us a happy marriage, she's such a warm and special person. The whole team was knowledgeable, kind-hearted, and just an absolute joy to be around. Choosing to do a cooking class was one of the best pre-wedding decisions we made — it was not only a fun and memorable bonding experience, but thanks to Arianna & Friends, it became a truly unforgettable part of our wedding celebration.

We just returned from our trip to Italy. We went to Tuscany to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We rented a villa with 15 close family and friends. My husband loves to cook and is very passionate about it. We arranged to have Arianna and Friends come to the villa the evening of his birthday and cook a 3 course meal with all of us. Prior to our arrival in Italy, they communicated constantly with us to help choose the menu. They even arranged to pick up a special and ever so delicious birthday cake. We cooked with Silvia, Yvonne, and Mariagrazia. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience. The food was out of this world. They were so knowledgeable and extremely patient with all of our antics. It was the highlight of our 10 day trip.

Absolutely loved every minute! From the cooking lesson and dinner to the adorable dogs and donkey, it was the perfect Tuscan experience. Fantastic food, great wine, and unbeatable value. Can’t wait to come back!

Oh my goodness!! This was the best time ever. It was a memorable, fun, laugh-filled, informative experience. A cooking experience is more than the cooking. Without a wonderful translator and a friendly, detail-oriented chef, it would not have been nearly as much fun. Cristian and Eli were absolutely the best combination for the greatest time ever. Every question was answered and the humorous responses from Christian had us enjoying this class more than anything else we did in Tuscany. The small class gave us lots of individual attention and Eli was precise in explaining the process of what we created. We left feeling like we could replicate what she had shown us. We all agreed that the tiramisu and gnocchi were the best we had eaten. And the roast potatoes!!! And the chicken piccata!! And the unlimited wine!! And our new friend, Karin (who unbelievably lived in our Canadian home town at one time) added to our exceptional evening. Thank you Eli. Thank you Christian.

Paola and Maria Grazia came to the accomodation we were staying in and cooked us the most incredible meal. It was booked as an anniversary present for family and we were all blown away. The meal was the highlight of our trip! Could not recommend more. They arrived to where we were staying (Casa D’Era - also highly recommend) and brought everything with them. It was especially fun seeing them cooking everything from scratch. Not to mention they left the kitchen spotless! We had a vegan dietary as part of our group and they catered amazingly. Really recommend if staying in Tuscany for a special occasion! We selected from the menu and had the ragu with fresh pasta (tomato ragu for vegan option) and the Tuscan meat stew (cauliflower for vegan) and homemade tiramisu for dessert.

We utilized this company twice while on a family trip to Italy and had an amazing experience!! We had two private chefs come and they made meals my whole family still talks / dreams about!! They spent hours hard at work and made absolutely spectacular meals! They cleaned everything and wrapped up left over so we got to indulge in their creations again and again. The best part is they gave us all their recipes via email - nothing has ever compared to when they made it but we’ve made multiple of the dishes and reminisced on the wonderful memories made. No question utilize this group - it was worth the expense for the amazing memories made 😊

Best part of my trip. Our guide was super knowledgeable, friendly and excited to be there. They were able to accomodate an olive harvest for us and we were very lucky to get to know the family that runs it. Thank you for the amazing experience! Can’t wait to take more of Arianna’s tours. I will be telling everybody.
