Korcula Town Museum is housed in a charming 16th-century Renaissance palace located in the heart of Korcula Old Town. The museum boasts 24 collections, including archaeological, traditional shipbuilding, ethnographical, stone-masonry, musical, natural history, and maritime exhibits. Visitors can explore ancient Greek and Roman ceramics recovered from shipwrecks as well as a replica of a fourth-century Greek tablet. The museum's English-language labeling enhances the experience for international visitors.
In the new renovated museum of the city of Korcula you can find a lot of information of very interesting and rich island history. You will go through different phases of the island development and for a hour or two travel through the time. Amazing place to visit!
Maja J — Google review
Delightful little museum that offers much to intrigue in a relatively small, but pleasingly modern, space. Visitors who are fascinated by the past and prepared to spend the time (and do a bit of reading) are taken through thousands of years of history, including a glimpse of 19th-century cultural life in Korčula - the curator(s) must be congratulated! Not all the explanatory texts and audio are accompanied by English translations, but super friendly staff can assist. A lovely experience (on what was a very cold and wet island afternoon!)
Lize G — Google review
Cute museum showcasing local history all the way from prehistoric times to 20th century. Not sure it's worth the €6 entry fee but it was nice all the same. Nice to do something a bit different to swimming and eating and drinking!
Alice W — Google review
Really good and modern museum occupying 5 floors. EUR6 entrance fee. The basement has the oldest pieces, and it gets more modern history as you climb up. Also a good toilet in the basement, which is handy! I particularly liked the helmet from the 5th or 6th century BC.
Ross G — Google review
Nice exhibit explaining the history of Korcula. Location in one of the old Venetian palaces on the main square. If you have plenty of time it's a good way to spend half an hour to an hour, but if you are in a rush better spend the time walking on the small streets.
Csaba C — Google review
Decent city museum! I definitely liked the amphoras (+music background) and photos from 1930's and 1950's. Someone put quite and effort to arrange the exhibition in chronological and well-arranged order.
Dalia K — Google review
Korcula Town Museum is located across the St. Marc Cathedral. The Museum is housed in Gabrieli's palace, built in the 15th and 16th centuries but newly renovated. It consists of 4 floors and shows how life on the island looked before. I would definitely recommend this place so you can understand the history of Korcula better. My favorite parts of the museum are the 3rd and 4th floor but the other two floors are no less attractive.
Tanja Z — Google review
Entrence is only 20kn, and you can explore a bit of Korčula's rich history. A the moment the museum is beeing rebuilt so entrence to the temporary location is just around the corner.

Saint Mark's Cathedral

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
Saint Mark's Cathedral is a 15th-century church located in the old town of Korcula. It was built from Korcula limestone in a Gothic-Renaissance style by Italian and local artisans. The cathedral features intriguing sculptural details on its facade, including figures of Adam and Eve, a two-tailed mermaid, and an elephant. The bell tower offers panoramic coastal views and is adorned with ornate carvings by Korculan Marko Andrijic.
Saint Mark's Cathedral in Korčula Town is a standout example of Gothic-Renaissance architecture, constructed between the 14th and 16th centuries by local stonemasons. Situated at the highest point of the old town, the cathedral features an ornate façade adorned with a fluted rose window and statues of Adam and Eve. Inside, visitors can view notable artworks, including paintings by Tintoretto. The cathedral's bell tower offers panoramic views of the town and the Adriatic Sea, accessible for an additional fee. While entry to the cathedral itself is free, the bell tower requires a separate ticket. It's advisable to check opening hours in advance, as they can vary by season. The cathedral remains a significant cultural and historical site, reflecting Korčula's rich heritage.
Patrik K — Google review
St. Mark's Cathedral is located in the old town of Korčula. It was built in the Gothic-Renaissance style, completed in the 15th century. The interior is quite modest, you can feel the spirit of the times. There are sarcophagi embedded in the floor, where dignitaries are buried. My wife and I lit a candle and paid homage to the dead.
Bogdan M — Google review
it's a nice cathedral located in the middle of the old town of korčula! it's very nicely decorated, and the price to entry is very cheap (3 Euro's for adults, and free for children)! definetly recommend checking it out if you're into religious architecture, but it's nothing too noteworthy if you're a tourist
Faris S — Google review
3€ per person to go in plus €5 more to go up the bell tower. Be warned: as with most bell towers, you go up a stone, spiral staircase but this one seemed narrower than most. The walkway at the top is super narrow: my backpack and I had to squeeeeeeze through (I weigh 70kgs and am 175cm tall so am not overweight). The cathedral is small but beautiful.
David L — Google review
Beautiful little church in the middle of oldtown Korçula. The first when going up was extremely narrow (even a little claustrophobic) but the views from the top were amazing. Not super safe to go with small children as there are many places they might slip, stumble or just step into thin air (our 4 year old went butt first down the stairs as they were pretty steep). Not much space at the top either so recommended to go with a smaller group of people.
Fredrica B — Google review
The Cathedral of St. Mark (also known as Korčula Cathedral) is located in the heart of Korčula’s Old Town. Built in the 15th century, it features a blend of Gothic and Renaissance architecture that makes it one of the island’s most striking landmarks. One of the highlights is climbing the cathedral’s bell tower, which offers breathtaking 360° panoramic views of the town and the sea beyond. Be prepared, though—the steps are very steep and narrow, and the climb can feel a bit challenging in such a tight space. Still, once you reach the top, the view is absolutely worth it, and you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment for making the climb.
Stephanie C — Google review
Beautiful architecture. The entrance to the cathedral is not free.
Gaja Š — Google review
Very disappointing to pay 3€ to receive not information on what to see in the church and any significant explanations or history. It is a small local church which does need some explanation.

Marko Polo Centar

Small stone house thought to be the birthplace of Marco Polo, with a tower boasting sea views.
One of the most gorgeous towns I’ve ever seen. Buildings from the 13-15th century so beautifully kept. Amazing food, emerald waters and every corner had wine, gelato, fish, and pizza to die for. Go, u may never leave. 🫶♾️🇭🇷
Christiaan C — Google review
Possibly the worst exhibit I’ve seen recently. They must not actually believe Marco Polo was from here. All 6 TV screens were not working. Half the displays were empty. No information or guide document. The last room …every door open and empty. Really weird.
Dave L — Google review
As my mother put it "Marco Polo had less trouble on his journey than we did navigating this museum." This was the only thing we experienced in all of Korčula that I don't recommend. Such an embarrassing and poorly done exhibit. After wandering around trying to make sense of the numbers and arrows, I went back downstairs to ask the employee if there was a guide book or brochure. He said "no, but you can have this" and gave me a map that required an actual magnifier to use (see photo). Only 1 of the multimedia screens was working, so we missed a lot of information. The "artifacts" were mostly replicas or irrelevant knick knacks (items from the silk road circa the 20th century...). It seemed that several exhibits had been removed, and the "library" was empty (see photo). The only redeeming feature was the view from the tower. The order was confusing as well - it seems to start in the middle and you end up in the beginning only to have to walk back the way you came. Don't waste your time.
K C — Google review
The Marco Polo House in Korčula, Croatia, is less of a traditional museum and more of a cultural center and gift shop dedicated to reimagining Marco Polo’s life. Inside, you’ll find displays of what his maps, tools, and diaries might have looked like, as well as exhibits highlighting the many places he traveled and explored. The highlight is the lookout point at the top of the center, where you get a direct view over the city and the beautiful Saint Mark’s Cathedral. It’s a small but fascinating stop that offers both history and stunning views, and admission is only 6 euros.
Stephanie C — Google review
A special two weeks on the island... I was particularly captivated by the old town and sunbathing on one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic for me Proizd. Special time - Every now and then I was attacked by animals. They started on arrival
PIESOCINEK T — Google review
Nice museum with AC running during summer hot days. Third floor AC was broken but experience was great and place was clean
Benjamin M — Google review
Totally enjoyed this self guided tour. Love the maps, the film and the exhibits that told you more about Marco Polo. Beautiful view from the top.

Vela Przina Beach

Vela Przina Beach is a popular sandy beach located in the village of Lumbarda on Korcula Island. It boasts fine golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The beach faces south, allowing visitors to enjoy ample sunshine and dry weather. While there is a parking lot available for a fee, the entire beach offers soft sand both onshore and in the sea.
Nice beach where you can walk out really far. Beware the slippery rocks. There were a lot of families in the late afternoon, but it was not crowded. There are a couple beach bars.
Yosef ( — Google review
A wonderful unpretentious beach. Great for chilling all day long and the beach bar is a must visit
Ed P — Google review
Beautiful beach with clear water and sandy! There is not much shadow, you can rent parasol for 7€ or sunbed 7€. When you arrive try to drive further to the beach there is a free parking instead of the guy who stop you at the entrance for ticket, feel like a scammer
Thao J — Google review
My wife and I visited this beach in late September on a warm and sunny day. Chairs and umbrellas were available for rent at E7 each. Being off-season and mid-week, it wasn’t too busy and so it was easy to find parking. The center of the beach is sandy while the sides are gravelly and rocky. Water was warm and enjoyable. Snorkeling in the rocky areas was enjoyable and while there was not a plethora of fish, I did notice five different types of small fish. There is a beach bar right at the opening to the beach and it serves a variety of drinks, as well as food typical of such a location, i.e. French fries, burgers, chicken filet, etc. The bonus for celiacs is that the fries have a dedicated fryer and the chicken would be done separately. The other food option is further down the waterfront and not on the beach. It’s an upscale restaurant called Amore and it was a very nice dining experience in a setting with character.
Derrick D — Google review
A beautiful sandy beach near Lumbarda on the island of Korčula. There is a parking lot on the beach, which costs EUR 5 for the whole day. The entire beach is sandy and there is also sand in the sea. There is no shade, so it is not very pleasant to be on the beach without a deckchair and an umbrella (5 EUR for a deckchair and an umbrella). There is also a bar/tavern on the beach so you can refresh yourself with a cold drink. The bay is beautiful, but due to the aforementioned sand and shallows, the beach is more suitable for families with children and is therefore quite visited.
Hrvoje H — Google review
After a week of rocky beaches I was so happy to find a sandy beach. This beach was lovely, clean and plenty of space. There is no shade but you can rent umbrellas for 7 euro with a friendly guy to help you set it up. The water was clear and refreshing. There is a also a pavilion that serves food and drink if you fancy (I didn't go here so can't comment on the quality). There are also toilet facilities here. I walked here from the bus which was a small mission but it was worth it! There appeared to be plenty of parking options if you were driving.
Rebecca — Google review
One of the most popular beaches, cos it's sandy and a 15 mn ride from old town. Very easy going. Long chairs and parasol on the expensive side (7 € each) so better come equipped
Lamis G — Google review
Really beautiful and clean beach. Road down could be tricky if you’re having trouble walking, good shoes is needed also bring swimming shoes! Cute little kiosk with water/ beer etc. Good and cheap sunbeds/ umbrellas to borrow, 10E for two beds and an umbrella.

Tucepi Beach, located along the Makarska Riviera, is a popular spot for tourists seeking outdoor activities and a true Dalmatian experience. Stretching 2.5 miles along the coastline, this stunning beach offers sparkling waters and breathtaking sunset views. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the calm sea or partake in various water sports and excursions. The beach also features natural shade from pine trees and has amenities such as cafes and a designated area for furry friends to enjoy.
Tucepi Beach is an absolute gem! The crystal-clear waters and pristine pebbles create a perfect setting for relaxation. The promenade is lovely for an evening stroll, lined with charming cafes and restaurants. Despite the beach getting busy during peak season, it never feels too overcrowded, and the family-friendly atmosphere is a big plus. The views are breathtaking, and the amenities are top-notch. It's a perfect spot for both sunbathing and swimming. Highly recommend a visit if you're in Croatia!
Reality — Google review
Immaculate stunning beach, showers, changing places. Bars, cafes and restaurants. Plenty of space at the end of September. The water is just beautiful
Rachael K — Google review
Beautiful 🤩 expensive parking, enough shade , showers available for a fee
Olena B — Google review
Sections of the beach are nice and photogenic, but overall this is a bunch of questionable touristy restaurants, generic bakery shops and LOTS of private accomodation options right on the beach. Motorbikes and deliveries use the promenade to bypass traffic. Architecturally, everything is horrendeous. Several hige hotels are right on the waterfront. Less chaotic than Makarska, but that is not saying much.
Goran K — Google review
Parking spaces are not enough. Parking lots are located outside the town and are very expensive. 20-25 euros/day. Very crowded beach.

Thank you so much to Fox, Amelia and the rest of the team for making our diving trip so fun and enjoyable! The team are experts at what they do and make sure you feel safe. The dive sites are beautiful as well, an overall excellent diving centre run by proper professionals!
K F — Google review
We booked online with Getyourguide, was easy to book and communication was great, on the day we shared the boat with some scuba divers, we went to two places and snorkeling was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this trip to anyone who likes seeing the underwater world.
Adam H — Google review
Thank you Butterfly diving for the experience of diving for beginners and diving from the boat. The instructors were very nice and always answered any question. They paid special attention to your safety and everything was professional from the beginning. I recommend it to everyone who likes diving.
Tamarka L — Google review
These guys were great, they were friendly and organised and made us feel comfortable. The boat was good and the people who looked after us were excellent (Fox & Emilia). We enjoyed the snorkeling and the sunshine. They provided bananas and apples and we bought beer and soft drinks for our children. We stopped at a couple of spots and the trip was approx 4 hours. Would recommend!
Andrew C — Google review
SUP rental for 4 hours was great! Good value and good equipment. Staff was very helpful - checked weather and provided recommendations. Spoke English fluently! Highly recommend.
Debbie G — Google review
An ideal place to start your diving adventure. My 14-year-old son was delighted. Fantastic crew, both on the first dive from the beach and the next two from the boat. Very positive people, looking out for your safety and wellbeing above all else. Thank you and highly recommend!
Monika — Google review
We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first scuba dive course. It was very easy for me to book a beginner's course for me, my wife and a friend of ours, Sebastian was very helpful via WhatsApp. Thanks to Valeska and Karolina, we were able to enjoy this experience to the fullest, feeling as safe as possible throughout the whole session, they were very patient and explained everything very well. Another thing that we appreciated was that the course took place with only four people, this making it very easy to understand what was going on and for the trainers to make time for everyone. We will definitely come back for other experiences with Butterfly Diving!
Alexandru L — Google review
An amazing experience with diving instructor Jacob and his colleagues. I would definitely recommend diving with these guys if you happen to be in the area, you will not regret it! Martin from Sweden.

Flovin M — Google review
+live music +long open hours +nice atmosphere -loads of smokers -expensive cocktails with barely any alcohol in it
Milena S — Google review
We visited the Banana Bar several times during our two-week stay since it's the only place open late. The drink selection is excellent, and the area, including the outdoor seating, is cozy and well-maintained with nice, cool fans to combat the heat. The only downside was the live entertainment, which was quite depressing and repetitive. We heard the same performer sing the same songs multiple nights in a row. While he's a good singer and pianist, the bar could use a more uplifting vibe, especially on weekends.
Natalia P — Google review
Decent bar I the middle of town but the beers are quite highly priced. However they do offer a wide range of international beers so if you do want to try something different then they are well worth a visit. Also they have a spray system in hot weather which is refreshing.

(Translated by Google) You can see the lake well from one point. A very nice, pleasant little tour. (Original) Egy pontról jól látni a tavat. Nagyon szép, kellemes kis túrával. (Translated by Google) Awesome and incredibly impressive/beautiful place. You should wear sturdy shoes. (No sandals or similar) From the parking lot you can walk through the forest along the "crater". Please pay close attention to your children, there is only a railing at the top of the crater. (A kind of viewing platform) The path along the crater is very beautiful but unpaved. (And it's quite steep uphill) There is also another path, but it doesn't have a panoramic view. A trip is definitely worth it. You should also have something to drink with you. I was very impressed by the sight 😁 (Original) Krasser und unglaublich imposanter / schöner Ort. Man sollte festes Schuhwerk tragen. (Keine Sandalen o. I think there are no words needed. Its a 20min down and 30min up light cardio session. Whoever says otherwise, must be 150kg or just lazy. INCREDIBLE

A place always to remember. It is worth swimming to the other shore. Approx 120-150meters, but for only for good swimmers in windy weather.
Petra — Google review
Be sure to wear good shoes. Also note that swimming here costs money. 2.5 euro under 18 and above 5.5 euro. The lake is awesome. No need to bring snorkels, the water is clear but I haven't seen anything. Also no toilet or shops down at the lake. Toilets are present on top.

Jurica M — Google review
The Blue Lake is just fantastic. It’s a bit of a hike in and out as the path is just over 1/2 mile long with 450ft of elevation gain from bottom to the top, but it’s worth the effort. Take food and drink as you don’t want to have to go up and down any more than necessary. The lake is a sink hole and is just beautiful. Great swimming, diving and general fun that kept our teenage kids off the phones the whole time we were there. Will be back again soon.
Goran R — Google review

Really unique place with his own story. Blue lake was always attractive to visit but last year's lake accessibility has been improved. There is a path which brings you (almost) to the lake itself. Once there you enjoy the untouched nature and get unexpected refreshment from the lake. Way back is not that easy. Do not hurry and keep in mind to take some wather with you. However, once back on the top there is a great small place "Šimetrija" which offers different types of refreshments. Really great experience.

Top experience! The tour guides are the best, they made this kayaking tour on a top level. The nature is beyond beautiful and we enjoyed every second of tour. I was with my wife and two small kids, we all had a great time! Thank you Andrea and Mario!!

Me and my college buddies had a reunion this summer. One of our stops was beautiful Bacina lakes. In the morning we met with Andrea and Mario, started off with refreshing lemonade and basic intro about our trip and kayaks, and shortly after that we were ready for action! We visited a couple of lakes, went under the bridge that connects lakes, played frisbee on the water and the best part was that Mario filmed all that with a drone. After we reached the last lake, we stopped in a little forest for about 1 hour. In the meantime, we chilled in hammocks and had a swim. On our way back Andrea and Mario gave us an excellent recommendation to go visit the Neretva Delta and some tips on where to eat in the evening. I would definitely recommend this fun excursion to anyone! Andrea and Mario, thanks for a great time! Hope to see you next year!

Never tried kayaking before and I`m so happy this was my first. Andrea and Mario were very nice and helpful with instructions. I was part of a small group and we were rowing towards the sunset which was a breathtaking site. Definitely something you need you try in your life. Not only it`s beautiful, also this is a great way to do something peaceful and nice avoiding the crowds in the middle of the summer season.
Tamara H — Google review
I fully recommend this kayak tour as one of the most fun and memorable experiences of our two week stay in Bacina! It is a wonderful, peaceful way to see the lakes and Mario gave us a more insightful tour of the lakes than we could find anywhere else. Thank you!
Sam S — Google review
We went on a noon kayaking tour around Bacina lakes (rain in the morning stopped us from going earlier) and we really loved it! Andrea and Mario were amazing! From the surprise juice at the beginning of the tour, great chill in the shade of pine trees to playing frisbee from the kayaks (so much fun!). Besides the amazing adventure, Mario and Andrea were very helpful with the advices on where to eat and what else to do (ask them for the restaurant recommendations, we ate like kings!). This is a must, you will not regret it!
Dina M — Google review
Beautiful lakes and a very nice easy-going kayaking between 5 inter-connected lakes. We took a little dip in the natural spring next to the lake that has the clearest water I've ever seen. The guides will give you a history of the lakes and the area which they both know intimately, and take you to the "beach bar" for a cold beverage (beer in my case)! Great place to spend a day trip with cool and interesting guides!

Kayaking on Bacina lakes was just perfect. It is great for couples, for friends, or for families with young adults or with young children. There were not lots of turists despite the fact that we were in high season. The early start of this activity allows to benefit from the coolness of the weather. The equipment was professionnal (life jackets, dry bags, ...) which was ideal to have the best experience possible. We had a good understanding of the location, its history, its flora thanks to Mario, who had really the desire to make a magic trip for us. Among many examples: we were welcomed by fruits and home made fruit Juice ; we could decide if we would take our toddler with one adult or two in the boat ; Mario showed us that our toddler could go at the very front of the boat to enjoy the trip ; he put hammocks in the trees for us during a break... Plus, Mario was extremely helpful in proactively providing numerous and detailed (including even google maps location) ideas on things to do in the neighborhood that were both relevant and specific to what our group likes. I would definitely recommend to go the the Bacina lakes, and to absolutely go there with Mario & Andrea.

An experience that tops any other! The hosts made sure we had a massive amount of fun and activity/rest. The nature is beyond beautiful and the best way to take it in is by gliding through the sparkling turqoise water. Made both my friends and my holidays!

Waterfalls
Kravica Waterfall is a scenic spot popular for swimming and photography, with nearby concessions available. Some visitors find the entrance fee to be high, considering it's a natural feature, while others appreciate the affordable access and free parking. The walk down to the falls offers numerous photo opportunities and stunning views. Visitors enjoy swimming in the river at the bottom of the falls and appreciate the clean bathing area with ample seating.
Incredible place ! We got there early and it was so relaxing and not busy at all. Loungers were out and free to use and it had a lovely cafe. The water is freezing haha so not many people swam at all. But it was a gorgeous place and SO worth a visit
Madison C — Google review
Still 10 euro to enter if you're wondering. The ascent and descent can be a bit difficult due to the odd designs of the steps. The waterfall itself is beautiful and that's why we came of course, but the area around the falls feels very run down. Maybe it's because of the off season, but boarded up restaurants covered in graffiti, no real paths or sense of organisation. It does feel like a bunch of people just placed down shacks to sell drinks and gelato out of for a few months of the year.
Jake A — Google review
This has been on my bucket list for years and I'm so happy to have finally done it. We went in end of October and, because it was a decent day, still swam. It was so lovely. Highly recommend, it's such a beautiful waterfall
Jenna B — Google review
Kravica Waterfall is gorgeous and super relaxing. Entrance is around 20 KM for adults (10 KM for students), and parking’s about 3 KM/hour (or 6 KM for a whole day. A boat ride costs around €5 for 20 mins or €10 for 40 mins. The place isn’t overly busy, and there are lovely spots to sit, unwind, and take in the view
Sutha H — Google review
Very nice waterfalls, they are different and a must see if you are visiting the area. The reception guy was very nice and informative. We parked at a parking ahead of the park which was 3 EUR for the hole day, but 1 hour is enough if you dont visit Mala Kravica.
Roman O — Google review
Went in early July and it wasn’t too packed. Arrived right at opening. Water was a bit chilly, and would definitely recommend water shoes as it’s rocky and mossy on the bottom. Give yourself a couple hours to swim, relax at one of the cafes, and enjoy the natural beauty.
Alex A — Google review
Very beautiful! A bit expensive for 10eur entrance but still worth it. We stayed for about 1h30. We walked towards Mala Kavinica. It didn’t have much view on the other falls but the clear waters was beautiful. There were cafes by the falls but all closed at this season. The bridge going to the other side is also closed.
Ashbina N — Google review
Kravica Waterfall was my favourite place when I visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in early October. I couldn't contain my excitement during the entire 90 minutes I spent there and I took dozens of selfies, photos, and videos to capture the beauty of this natural wonder. I really wish I had more time, as I didn’t want to leave so soon. The €10 entry fee is absolutely worth it to witness such a marvel. There were people swimming and having fun in the water, as it was a gloriously sunny day. I also sat down to enjoy a coffee and a cigarette, simply soaking in the breathtaking surroundings and appreciating the moment.

Brdo Križevac

Pilgrimage place
Sights & Landmarks
Monte da Cruz, also known as Križevac, is a sacred site that features a path adorned with the Stations of the Cross. The journey to its summit requires navigating rocks and red sand, making it a challenging endeavor in temperatures reaching up to 42 degrees during summer. It is recommended to bring at least 1 liter of water per person for this roughly 45-50 minute climb.
It's an experience in itself to make it upto the Cross. Not easy to climb up but do make it. It has the Stations of the Cross as you walk along. Suggest to start early
Michelle A — Google review
A lovely prayerful climb. A few tips - start really early preferably before sunrise. You do need shoes (unless you are going barefoot which is so inspirational) and light comfortable clothing. The stations of the cross help to take pauses, pray and meditate. The terrain is rough. It took me nearly an hour to climb at medium pace. I was inspired by many older folks who were climbing with walking sticks. Beautiful views from the top. Try it out… blessings!
Savio C — Google review
It is quite larger than the Apparition hill and quite steep and stony. There are stations of the cross while you climb and it is not meant for the faint-hearted. The stones are quite sharp so that in case of falling one may break the bones.
Stanly P — Google review
Small hike to the top, fantastic views, very busy.
Gary B — Google review
Worth going or at least trying challenge to get to the top, as temperatures over the summer hit 42 degrees and to get all the way to the top you have to climb over rocks and red sand. Bring at least 1l of water for each person + bare in mind it takes roughly 45-50 minutes to get there during the day. But view and entire spiritual journey is definitely worth going!
Dominik K — Google review
It is moving and powerful to pray the stations of the cross as you climb Cross Mountain. I followed the tradition of carrying a stone, representing my sins, from the bottom of the mountain to the top, and leaving it at the resurrection station. I experienced great peace and consolation when offering my prayer intentions at the foot of the cross.
Jeff R — Google review
A labor of love 💘. The journey is arduous. It is rocky and steep. Young and old complete this trek up this mountain in a spiritual quest seeking guidance for a troubled humanity. Bronze reliefs of Jesus's last day on earth emerge as you go higher to the beautiful White Cross destination.
Alan H — Google review
The Holly Way of the Cross is a wonderful way to pray. peace and quiet in all parts of Medjugorie, despite the large number of pilgrims. A place you want to go to again and again.

Apparition Hill

Pilgrimage place

Apparition Hill, located several hundred meters above the Bijakovici hamlet called Podbrdo, is a well-known site where apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary have been reported since 1981. The hill was initially a bare and stony area but has become more accessible due to the millions of pilgrims who visit it.
Peaceful and Powerful Experience Apparition Hill has a truly special atmosphere – peaceful, spiritual, and moving. You feel incredibly close to something greater while you’re there. The hike up takes about 15 minutes, depending on your pace. It’s a bit rocky, so good shoes help, but it’s manageable for most people. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with a beautiful view and a deep sense of calm. A must-visit spot if you’re in Medjugorje – whether for faith, reflection, or just the incredible energy of the place.
Mina H — Google review
Absolutely wonderful and worth the hike up the hill to be able to pray the rosary where our Blessed Mother appeared. All Catholics should make the pilgrimage here once.
Chris G — Google review
It was a very enlightening experience to witness such dedication among the pilgrims who made the climb up Apparition Hill. Some did it barefoot but I would highly recommend a strong pair of hiking boots as some of the rocks are quite sharp. It takes around 10 minutes to climb to Our Lady statue.
Mat B — Google review
Van ride to Apparition Hill – the movie’s rising action. Winding through Medjugorje’s green hills, the van climbs toward Podbrdo, where the Virgin first appeared in 1981. Sunlit vineyards and stone walls flash by – anticipation builds with every turn. The pilgrimage deepens
A G — Google review
Incredible place! You must go there to feel this atmosphere and energy. Hard climb up the hill on the rocks but was doable with three kids including 4 years old. It can get crowded, but on the other hand is so quiet and perfect place to pray to our Lady. She is there waiting for you!
Mariana Y — Google review
The path up to Apparition hill is rough, be prepared for a hike. We saw some people that were quite old and it was challenging, but they went slowly and were undeterred. There’s not a single set path, and nobody was impatient. Spiritually so worth visiting.
Wade W — Google review
Beautiful Beautiful Place of peace of our Blessed Mother of God. It's a must go and you will experience the peace and love of our Mother.

Neretva is a small town known for the stunning emerald green waters of the Neretva river, which is said to be one of the coldest rivers in the world. The town exudes historical and cultural significance, with every corner along its riverbank holding a unique story. Mostar's tradition includes boys leaping off the 25m tall Stari Most into the cold and fast-flowing Neretva River below.

It's a gorgeous Herzegovina river sourcing near the Konjic and finished in the Adriatic sea near Metkovic town. The river passes through five major places Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Capljina, and Metkovic. The most famous world bridge passes over the Neretva River and joins two shores, and of course, it's Old Bridge in Mostar, protected by the Unesco association.

The Neretva, and in particular its delta, are a fascinating place to visit. It is a fertile area where primarily citrus and pomegranate farming exist side by side with extensive reed beds. It is a unique way of life lived between land and water. Who knows how long it will last or how it might change. The boat tours are well worth it to see what lies oit in the delta. A cuisine of eels, frogs fantastic stews is balanced with great wines and unique herbal spirits.

Mostar Old Bridge Viewpoint, also known as Stari Most, is a must-visit destination in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This 16th-century Ottoman bridge is a symbol of reconciliation and unity in the city, connecting its Muslim and Christian quarters with its elegant design featuring a single stone arch gracefully curving 24m above the Neretva River.
Beautiful, even on an overcast day. We didn’t see the river’s famous green waters, but the view was still lovely. The bridge itself is so full of history and beauty that you can’t help but pause and take it all in. A must-see when visiting Mostar.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Old Bridge in Mostar is one of the most breathtaking sights I’ve seen. By day it’s alive with history and crowds, but by night it transforms into something magical – beautifully lit, reflecting perfectly on the Neretva River below. Standing here, you feel the weight of centuries of Ottoman architecture, war, destruction, and then the powerful story of reconstruction and resilience. The bridge is not just stone and water – it’s a living symbol of unity and survival. Locals still dive from it (incredible to watch!), and the surrounding cobblestone streets are full of cafés, craft shops, and welcoming people. Walking across the bridge feels like stepping back in time, yet the atmosphere is buzzing and vibrant. If you visit Bosnia, this is an absolute must. Come at night if you can – the reflections, lights, and quiet atmosphere are unforgettable. 10/10 experience that blends history, culture, and pure beauty.

Beautiful little old town, with a bridge that can be a bit strange to cross, due to the way the steps are on it. But some fantastic restaurants nearby and get this....loads of food and it costs peanuts, compared to eu countries. Well worth a visit, locals are lovely and welcoming.

Beautiful scenery. The water level was high in November and the current was turbulent. The cobbled stones on the pathways make walking difficult. There are many sourviniers shops along the pathway. Many of them are selling magnet, keychains and some turkish products.

The historic town of Mostar, spanning a deep valley of the Neretva River. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge, Stari Most, after which it is named. In the 1990s conflict, however, most of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, was destroyed. The Old Bridge was recently rebuilt and many of the edifices in the Old Town have been restored or rebuilt with the contribution of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO. The Old Bridge area, with its pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean and western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement. The reconstructed Old Bridge and Old City of Mostar is a symbol of reconciliation, international co-operation and of the coexistence of diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities.

The old bridge, or Stari Most, is not just beautiful but also full of history and meaning. Rebuilt after the war, it stands as a powerful symbol of unity and resilience. Walking through the cobblestone streets and watching locals dive off the bridge into the Neretva River felt surreal. I visited Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 4th, 2018, and it was beautiful. The cobblestone streets and ancient buildings many still marked with bullet holes told the story of over 300,000 men, women, and children who lost their lives in a war fought over religion. My tour guide, who introduced himself as Yugoslavian (from a country that no longer exists), had a master’s in religion. He said something that I’ll never forget: “I’ve read every religious book, and they all say the same thing religion is freedom.” Our final stop was the iconic Mostar Bridge, where daredevils leap into the water below. As I sat there reflecting, I thought about how fortunate I am to live in a country where all children of all abilities and colors have the same right to education, where women can have equal right, and where anyone can freely practice their faith. On that day, July 4th, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I felt the deepest sense of gratitude and pride for my country. America is freedom. True freedom isn’t the absence of injustice, but the courage to confront it. That’s what makes America free. ❤️💙🤍 *UNESCO heritage site*

Market of vendors. Lots of options to find. Most of it is mass produced but there are a few with antiques and real handmade products. You have to look to find the real stuff. Some art galleries too.
Sighting S — Google review
In the bazaar we find an "infinity" of items, but it attracts attention and are very visible the products made by coppersmiths ... for example a complete set for preparing and serving Bosnian (Turkish) coffee. We also find oriental delicacies. I was struck by the presence of many handycraft pieces that reflect the memory of the civil war, being made of whole cartridges, cartridge tubes or other ammunition. The bazaar capitalizes the secular tradition of craftsmen who came here in the 15th century with the occupation of this province by the Ottoman Empire and turned Mostar into an important craft and trade center whose fame spread throughout the Empire. In Mostar there are 30 different associations of craftsmen, some of them dating from 1762, such as bakers (ekmekdžije), the tailors (terzije), the shoemakers (baškmadžije), weavers (ćebedžije), goldsmiths (kujundžije), barbers ), builders (dundžeri) etc. Most of the traditional handicrafts activities are carried out inside the Old Bazaar area, representing a great attraction for tourists who appreciate the authenticity and beauty of the items (clothing, leather, copper and precious metals, fabrics, etc.). The bazaar is called Kujundžiluk (goldsmiths ?) after the street that runs through the Old Town and used since the 16th century for commercial activities. It is a narrow, pedestrian street, bordered by shops installed in old stone houses and very crowded during our visit. In the central area of the street (bazaar) is the famous Old Bridge (Stari Most, bordered by 2 towers, hence the name of the city: "mostari" = the bridge keepers; built by the Turks in 1566), the emblem of the city. Almost completely destroyed in the civil war (1992-1995), both the bridge and the neighboring historic area were rebuilt with international help. The reconstruction of the bridge in 2004, simultaneously with the political reunification of Mostar, were seen as a symbol of reconciliation and restoration of the connection (physical and spiritual) between the divided ethnic groups (Bosniaks, Croats, Serbs). In July 2005, the Old Town's historic center, including the 16th-century market square, mosques and the famous Old Bridge were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Visiting the Tekija in Blagaj was a truly peaceful and unforgettable experience. The harmony between nature and history is breathtaking — the crystal-clear river, the majestic cliffs, and the serenity of the Dervish house make it one of the most beautiful and spiritual places I’ve ever seen. A must-visit if you're in Bosnia and Herzegovina!

The Islamic monastery of Tekija Blagaj is absolutely impressive! The entrance fee is around 10 km, but it's definitely worth it. Its location, right at the source of the Buna River, is simply breathtaking—surrounded by rocks, water, and beautiful nature. A place full of peace and history. Parking is also available nearby for a small fee. Overall, a fantastic destination that shouldn't be missed when visiting the region!🇧🇦❤️

Incredible place to visit. If you are visiting Bosnia, I would say a must visit. Beautiful historical and natural heritage of Bosnia located at the spring of the Buna river. This spring ranks as one of the largest in whole Europe. Around the spring there are restaurants with a really beautiful view. Of course Blagaj tekke is opened for tourists and you can visit this architectural ensemble in and out.

A short drive from Mostar and the place looks magical. We went on an evening in Ocotber and practically had the place to ourselves. You can also walk upto the monastery though we skipped it, and there are many restaurants around too where you can relax with a view. There is a parking lot nearby in walking distance and I had read previous reviews that they collect money, but surprisingly on the day and time we went there was noone there to collect.

Blagaj, which is the source of the Buna River and home to a beautiful Dervish Monastery nestled beside a cave and mountain. Entry to the monastery is €5. Some visitors were praying inside, and we were told that Dervish gatherings still take place here on Mondays and Fridays, lasting anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
Storee — Google review
Blagaj is a peaceful and breathtaking spot, crystal-blue water, a dramatic cliffside, and the historic Tekija house make it feel almost unreal. Perfect for a calm escape, beautiful photos, and a touch of history. Definitely worth the visit.
Sutha H — Google review
Yes, the place is undoubtedly beautiful—especially the river, the view, and the architecture itself. However, the entry fee feels disappointing given the lack of guidance or explanation. You’re allowed into a few rooms that were used for prayer and rituals, but there’s no clear information about the historical relevance of the person associated with the site, nor is there a guide available. Honestly, you could simply visit the area and take great photos from across the river without paying for the ticket.

Stara Ćuprija Konjic

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
I visited the Konjic Bridge at night, and even in the calm of the evening, it had a quiet, timeless beauty. The lighting gently highlights the contours of this historic Ottoman-era bridge, offering a peaceful ambiance and a chance to reflect by the Neretva River. While the town was quiet at that hour, the bridge stood gracefully — a reminder of the region’s rich history. It’s a lovely spot for a serene evening walk and a quick glimpse into Bosnia’s architectural heritage.

Tito's Bunker - ARK D-0

Museum
Military Museums
What a great step back into history and a cultural experience with art exhibits to gaze at as well. Totally worth a visit and the cost of admission. We had two amazing staff looking after us, Layla and Amina! But we have to give special thanks to Layla as our tour guide since she did a very excellent job answering all our questions and putting up with our jokes! Layla was professional, easy to understand, and knew lots of information we found interesting about Yugoslavia and Tito’s Bunker. Would be willing to come back again, so much to see and learn, it’s hard to swallow it all in just one visit.
Joshua P — Google review
Not to be missed. I'll clarify some points deemed important to prospect visitors rather than talking about the place itself, since the bunker is well-described on the internet. There are 3 tours per day, all guided, and each tour will have 2 separate groups in 2 languages: local and English. The English-speaking guide was fluent. The tour duration is about 70 minutes. The number of tour participants is limited, so buy tickets online in advance and make sure to have a car waiting for you outside when you finish so you can leave the place. It will be very difficult to walk all the way back. I had to take some visitors back to town with me since their taxi did not wait for them.
Muhammad K — Google review
The bunker would be interesting, but unfortunately, the history and rooms are being ruined by some modern art, and it was artistically designed, having nothing to do with the place. I don't know why they would force such nonsense into empty rooms; it made a terrible impression. However, the guide showed us around and gave an interesting story for 1.5 hours. Entry is 40 km. You first buy your ticket at an agency (you have to go to their website, make a reservation, then you get an email asking you to send photos of your ID, your desired entry time, and the language you want). Then you go to the agency to collect your tickets and pay. They tell you where to go on your own (a few kilometers). There, you park your car on the side of the road, dodge the wasps that try to sting you (successfully). You wait by the gate for a large bus that takes you to the entrance of the bunker in two minutes, where you wait for your guide. The bunker itself is large, but there are no amazing things inside. It's very repetitive, but hey, it's worth it for the history. P.S. Tito never went there. Would be better, if cheaper, honestly

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An absolutely fascinating place to visit if you’re anywhere near Konjic. Tito’s Bunker (ARK D-0) is one of the most unique Cold War sites in all of Europe, hidden deep inside the mountains and preserved almost exactly as it was when it was a top-secret military installation. Walking through the massive steel blast doors, the long tunnels, and the command rooms feels like stepping back into history — you really sense the scale of fear and preparation during that time. The tour gives you insight into why this bunker was built, how much it cost, and how it could sustain the Yugoslav leadership for months if nuclear war had ever broken out. The combination of concrete engineering, military design, and even small details like furniture and communication systems still being intact makes it an unforgettable learning experience. Our guide was excellent — very knowledgeable, approachable, and happy to answer questions. The tour flows well, taking you through different sections from sleeping quarters to the command centre, with enough time to explore and take photos. It’s eerie but also impressive to see how well it was built and how secret it remained until the 1990s. Practical side: definitely book in advance since you can only enter with a guided tour. The price might feel a little high compared to other attractions in Bosnia, but in my opinion it’s worth it for the history and the rarity of this kind of site. There was no wait to enter (need to book 24hrs in advance though!) and the whole tour lasted about 1.5–2 hours which felt just right. Overall, this is a must-see if you’re into history, architecture, or just want to experience something truly different while in Bosnia. One of the highlights of the trip! Highly recommended.
Fawad F — Google review
The ticket price is 20€ for foreigners and 10€ for Bosnian nationals. Make sure you booked your ticket in advance! You can do it either physically in Konjic in one of numerous agencies, or online (and you'll need to take your paper ticket in the agency anyway). You can't just go to the entrance and buy a ticket. The tour takes about 1.5 hours. The tour is very interesting, the guides are professionals. As for the bunker itself, it is extremely interesting, but to my taste art installations should not be there.
Alexandra D — Google review
You need to make a reservation at least 24 HOURS prior. There are multiple agencies offering them, each for 40BAM. You arrive to the location and then you are transported with bus to tunnel entrance. When we visited there were only 9 and 12 o'clock tours. For me it was a little bit dissapointig as I thought it would be more historical. Also the art ruined it for me a little bit, especially where the artist drew on the original maps in the map room. But art is subjective and you might enjoy it! Overall it's a great experience, but could be better. Instead of art it could feature more of the time appropriate stuff.
Aleš P — Google review
Tito’s Bunker is an impressive and unique glimpse into Yugoslav history. The guided 1.5-hour tour was very informative, led by an excellent guide. The mix of history and contemporary art creates a little bit disturbing atmosphere. Overall, it’s absolutely worth visiting. The entrance fee for foreigners is 20 euros and for domestic tourists 10.
Bo I — Google review
The place itself is very interesting and definitely worth visiting. However, the contemporary art installations just don't belong there. They stick out like a sore thumb and kill the vibe. Our tour guide seemed to be in a rush to finish the tour and she seemed annoyed whenever we took some time to look around and take photos since she had to wait for us. I expected her to provide more info about how the bunker was built. Note that you need to call first to book the tickets in advance. You pick up the tickets at their office in town and the bunker entrance is a 15ish-minute ride outside the town. So, make sure you have transportation there.

We appreciated two things about this museum, which is spread over three floors. On the ground floor, a quick excursus from the Eneolithic to the Bogomil culture. Not many things, but well arranged and illustrated. On the first floor, the following history, up to 1970, with Tito's visits. Finally, on the second floor, photographic and computer equipment. So the history of the museum stops before 1992. And here begins the second aspect of the visit. The chat at the entrance desk with the two young employees. Whom we must thank because we understood a little more about the history of Bosnia Herzegovina after 1991. I won't go into the details of the chat, so it will only remain in our memories as a beautiful meeting with them. Thank you!

Fatema A — Google review
The Ravne Tunnel Complex near Visoko is an underground network that some proponents claim to be man-made. The site is frequently associated with high levels of negative ions and an absence of electromagnetic pollution — conditions believed by some to support healing and regeneration. The guided tour takes visitors through narrow, excavated tunnels where the air remains consistently fresh and cool. Large stone blocks are visible along the path. According to researchers, some of these blocks are believed to be ancient ceramic megaliths for energetic or healing purposes. During my visit, certain sections were under construction, which limited access. In my view, the Ravne Tunnels offer a refreshing and unusual experience, especially for those who appreciate quiet and meditative subterranean spaces. While the therapeutic claims remain open to debate, the tunnels are worth visiting out of curiosity or as a cool, calming diversion for an hour or two.

⛰️ Tunnel Ravne Bosna - A Fascinating & Energetic Experience 🔦 Visiting Tunnel Ravne in Visoko was an experience far beyond what I expected. I went in with little idea of what to expect, but came out having learned so much and truly feeling the unique energy of the stones and the place itself. Our guide, Elvira, was absolutely fantastic. She led the tour in fluent English, explained everything clearly, and answered all of our questions with patience and enthusiasm. Her knowledge and storytelling made the visit not only informative but also deeply engaging. The tunnels themselves are mysterious, atmospheric, and rich with history. I could genuinely feel something special about the environment, it’s the kind of place that stays with you. Just be prepared, as the temperature inside is around 12°C, so a jacket is definitely recommended. The only small downside was that Elvira told us about the underground lake, which unfortunately is no longer accessible to tourists. It would have been incredible to see and touch, but even without that, the experience was unforgettable. Overall, Tunnel Ravne is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, archaeology, or simply curious about unique energies and hidden places. I came with no expectations and left with a memorable experience I would highly recommend.

Exhilarating experience! Do not listen to the comments explaining everything from the tour so vividly. If you have the brain capacity to listen, and you listen to the tour carefully, you will understand everything said at the location. The experience is truly fascinating and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in archeology and understands how frequencies work on our body to visit the location. Our tour guide, Aldin, knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely enthusiastic. He answered all our questions with patience and depth, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Easy to talk to, full of energy, and a pleasure to listen to throughout the tour. I highly recommend a visit!

It might be a scam, what difference does it make... They tell an interesting story, a big tunnel, enjoy :)

The nature in the Park Ravne is amazing, and it does not need any other reason to be visited than nature. The archeology replicas in the park have suffocated and intrused the natural environment. Entrance to the tunnel is outrageusly expensive! It was 3 euros one year ago and today is 10 euros. Nothing to see inside, but is soothening to breath that air underneath the ground and fell like pressure from your head disapears.

Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun

Park
Geologic Formations
Natural formations in the shape of a pyramid that some believe are the oldest man-made on earth.
This has such natural beauty. The surrounding park is well-maintained, featuring greenery, meditation areas, and walking trails. The climb to the summit is steep and can be challenging, but it rewards hikers with panoramic views of Visoko and the surrounding landscape.

⛰️ Pyramid of the Sun - A Steep but Rewarding Hike in Visoko 🌄 Visiting the Pyramid of the Sun was a memorable experience and definitely worth the effort if you enjoy hiking and panoramic views. The great thing is that you don’t need a guide to get up there. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend one, since all the information you need is already available on posters along the way up. If you plan to hike all the way to the summit, be prepared: the trail is super steep, there are no signs or proper walkways, and it’s very much at your own risk. It took me around 45 minutes to reach the top, and I’d strongly advise wearing good hiking shoes, definitely not slides or sandals. That said, the reward at the summit is absolutely worth it. You’ll be greeted with a beautiful panoramic view over the city of Visoko, making the climb both challenging and rewarding. For adventurers and hikers, the Pyramid of the Sun is a great stop. Just come prepared, take your time, and enjoy the unique scenery at the top.

You shouldn’t expect anything breathtaking from this place, like with the Egyptian pyramids. There’s something interesting here, but it’s hidden beneath a layer of earth. In fact, there seems to be some kind of concrete filling under the ground.

Park is nice, caves are fine to visit, going uphill is ok too. People are really trying to keep this place descent. Thank you for the hard working guys who are working there .
Mirela O — Google review
Doesn't this feel like a scam to anyone? I am a bit disappointed even from the moment I parked my car. A lady stopped me at a lower ground, which was still about two turns away. It costed 2 mark to park. And then there were kids and elder ladies at ever intersection bowing to you, asking for money. Funny they spoke German. Not English. They seemed to belong to the same family. The entrance fee was 10 Mark or 5 euro for adults, and supposedly you have a guide that basically tells you everything that's already on the displaying board, saying the concrete dated from 30000 years ago was harder the modern ones. And pretty much that's it. Nothing else to do. Many superstitious/supernatural things. I thought you'd be able to see the pyramid at some kind of panoramic lookout, but you are actually on that mountain. After spending 10 minutes hearing that Darwin was wrong, and human history should be re-written, there was basically nothing else to do.... I was skeptical and we started climbing up but the road condition was nothing but dirt. We gave up. If it was even a greater wonder than the Egyptian pyramids, why hadn't the western world given any serious attention to it? But I had my drone, so I am not leaving without a picture. You can judge for yourself what that it. I didn't do the tunnel thing. It did look like a Pyramid
Sally Y — Google review
A little confusing - the pyramid and the tunnels are not the same location (as it can seem online). The pyramid is worth a visit as you get to climb up through the forest, with stunning views over the city and surrounding area. There is parking right next to the entrance - ignore the woman and her daughter harrassing you further down and telling you to park, if you keep going up the road (just follow the sign for the pyramid) there is parking right next to the entrance for 2KM, which feels much safer and less of a scam attempt. Entrance is 10KM with a tour, but if you ask for a ticket with no tour it is only 5KM, in my opinion its better as you can go at your own pace, enjoy the tranquility of the area, and the sign boards have all of the information you could want anyway. The walk is quite tiring - it is up concrete steps however is very steep, and to reach the top it turns into a hiking trail (so you would need proper shoes to reach it). Do I feel healed by the frequency? Is it really the worlds largest, oldest, most accurate etc pyramid? Is it just a conveniently shaped hill turned into a tourist attraction? You can decide for yourself - either way though it is a nice area to walk, a good view and a fun way to spend an hour or so while passing through Visoko

There can be many activities. Tunnels, museum and jogging to the top of the sun pyramid. But ways are very narrow. And the map for the enterances are not clear. For the first time its very challenging to find places to visit.

A great walk with absolutely amazing things to read and see. I believe this was not recently made, my opinion, before people go mad at me. When you see the thickness and all the angles. Situated on the outskirts of Sarajevo in the municipality of Ilidža, the park known as Vrelo Bosne spans approximately 603 hectares at the foot of Mount Igman. It represents the source of the Bosna River and is established as a protected nature monument. Natural Beauty & Atmosphere: One will immediately notice the clarity of the water springs, the gentle babble of streams and the rich greenery of the forest paths. The environment projects an unusually peaceful and “warm” character — by which is meant a sense of welcome, softness of light through the trees and the natural calm that pervades the surroundings. Visitors remark that the area allows for genuine escape from urban bustle. The network of walkways, promenades and small bridges gives one ample opportunity for leisurely strolls, gentle cycling or even horse-carriage rides along the main avenue. Frequent sightings of swans, ducks and other water-birds add to the sense of being immersed in nature. Infrastructure & Visitor Experience: The park is well maintained, featuring benches, rest areas and designated trails that accommodate families, walkers and cyclists alike. Entry is ticketed, generating funds for upkeep, and the paths are accessible and easy to traverse. Spotless water surfaces and clear signage enhance the impression of cleanliness and order. Practical Considerations & Tips: - Access: The park lies about 12-15 km from central Sarajevo, reachable by taxi or public transport via Ilidža. - Timing: Visiting earlier in the day offers a quieter experience before visitor numbers rise. - What to bring: Comfortable shoes for paths, water and perhaps a camera — the scenery provides plenty of photographic opportunities. - Duration: One could easily spend 1-3 hours exploring; longer if one plans to picnic, rest by the springs or take a carriage ride. - Facilities: Cafés and small refreshment outlets are present, though their hours may vary seasonally. Final Assessment: In sum, Vrelo Bosne Park offers more than a simple park visit — it presents a calm, well-preserved natural retreat characterized by clear water, lush foliage and comfortable infrastructure. For those seeking a gentle connection with nature near Sarajevo, it is a strong choice. While it may not deliver the solitude of remote wilderness, its accessibility, cleanliness and warm atmosphere make it a notably positive destination. One cannot visit Bosnia and Herzegovina without visiting the place that gives the country its name. Compared to the relative chaos of Sarajevo, the Bosnia spring is an oasis of peace and tranquility. Even in the middle of summer, sinking your hands into the cool water and taking in a real mountain spring is a truly special experience. There is an entry fee of BAM 8 but it is worth every penny to take in a national treasure like this. Spend enough time walking the trails and hear the rush of the water gushing out on its northward journey.

Bosnia Springs is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Nestled in the heart of nature, the crystal-clear springs provide a refreshing experience. The lush greenery surrounding the area adds to its tranquil ambiance, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and rejuvenation. The well-maintained trails invite visitors to explore the natural beauty of the region. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply looking for a leisurely stroll, the trails cater to all fitness levels. The sound of the flowing water and the chirping of birds create a soothing symphony that enhances the overall experience. Moreover, the local community's commitment to preserving the environment is evident in the pristine condition of the springs and its surroundings. This dedication ensures that visitors can enjoy the unspoiled beauty of Bosnia Springs for years to come. It's a must-visit destination for nature lovers and anyone seeking a peaceful retreat.

The Tunnel of Salvation, also known as the Sarajevo Tunnel, is a significant historical site located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Constructed during the Bosnian War in 1993, it served as a crucial link between the besieged city of Sarajevo and Bosnian-held territory outside the Sarajevo Airport. This underground tunnel played a vital role in providing essential supplies and humanitarian aid to the city while enabling people to escape from the conflict.
An amazing museum where you can learn about tragic history of Sarajevo siege. The location is a bit out of the city, so better to come when you just arrived or going to the airport. They accept only cash for tickets.

Gallery 11/07/95, located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a modern gallery dedicated to commemorating the Srebrenica massacre. The gallery's name signifies the date of this tragic event, which saw over 8,000 Bosnian civilians killed by Serbian militias with the aim of eradicating an ethnic group.
Museum specifically focuses on the genocide in Srebrenica, towards the end of the Bosnian War. Unknowingly spent 4 hours in there cos there's so so much to absorb. The audio guide is a must to really understand the stories behind the exhibits, and also please do spend time to watch the films - they are so powerful in educating what went on and also hitting hard on the emotions and hurt that still lives today in Bosnia.

One of the best museums/exhibits I’ve ever been to. I payed a little extra for the audio guide and I highly recommend doing that - it was very interesting and I learned so much. Definitely a must visit if you’re in Sarajevo!

We visited this place just before leaving Sarajevo. I liked the exhibition and the way of its presentation though tickets were quite expensive for a small space like this one. Also, we were informed that the tickets are for two days so we could come back the next day but I couldn’t understand the purpose of it as the gallery has only one permanent exhibition and one ongoing exhibition. Ongoing exhibition had very litte material & it was not going to change the next day. So sellimg tickets with 2-day access is something very time specific and not suitable for tourists. I think it would be a good option to have cheaper tickets for one visit only.

There was an excellent experience at this museum Some great information shared and vivid photos as well Definitely recommend getting the audio guide as well Staff were friendly and easy to cooperate with

A poignant and ever-relevant exploration of the key tragedies of the Bosnian war, punctuated with incredible and heart-breaking photography. I would recommend, if you have the time, taking advantage of the two-day ticket to fully digest the content of the Gallery. If possible, visit the gallery before fully exploring Sarajevo. A great way to contextualise the beautiful city in light of the conflict that decimated it just 30 years ago.

Amazing, but very sad place. Must visit when in Sarajevo, but take more hours to do it, there is also option to return next day and countinue. Staff is also amazing!

A very moving and profound experience visiting this space. If you only visit one place connected to the 92-95 war make sure it's here. The hope is in the fact that people will try and find a way to co-exist despite the terrible things they do to each other.
Marek B — Google review
I visited this gallery of course to see the war photos, but also partially in order to avoid from the heat of July in Sarajevo. Hot and stuffy inside. Couldn't concentrate on the exhibition. If you take that much money for the entrance fee, you should at least provide the pleasant atmosphere - air condition.

Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the vibrant Bascarsija Bazaar, Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque stands as a testament to the rich Ottoman heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Completed in 1532, this magnificent mosque is not only the largest in the country but also one of the most significant architectural marvels in the Balkans.
A beautiful mosque from the Ottoman era. The most interesting structure is the Lunar Clock Tower that follows the Muslim prayer time. I find this amazing, and I don’t think there is any as such, anywhere else in the world. Alhamdulillah to be able to perform prayers here.

A timeless sanctuary in the heart of Sarajevo. Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque isn’t just a historical landmark—it’s a living, breathing space of serenity and spirit. The moment you step through its gates, the bustle of Baščaršija fades into quiet reverence. The architecture is sublime: Ottoman elegance meets Balkan soul. Intricate stonework, a graceful minaret, and a courtyard that invites both reflection and conversation. Whether you're here for prayer, photography, or simply to feel the centuries hum beneath your feet, this place delivers. The staff and caretakers are welcoming, and the site is well maintained. Don’t miss the fountain in the courtyard—it’s not just photogenic, it’s symbolic, a gentle reminder of purification and peace. Perfect for a midday pause or a golden-hour stroll. A must-visit for anyone curious about Bosnia’s spiritual heartbeat.

One of the most important landmarks left by the Ottoman Empire in Sarajevo. Due to its old history, it is a significant point of interest. Its historical atmosphere has been preserved just as it was on the first day. When you visit Sarajevo, you should definitely stop by this place. In addition, it is open for worship during prayer times, and visitors are allowed to enter for that purpose.

Built in 1531 by visionary Ottoman governor Gazi Husrev-Bey, this majestic mosque anchors Baščaršija with its soaring minaret, ornate stone šadrvan (ablution fountain), and intricate mihrab. The courtyard’s red carpets and arched portico invite quiet reflection, while the interior’s colorful frescoes and stalactite muqarnas dazzle the eye. Part of a vast waqf complex—including madrasa, library, and bezistan—it survived centuries of empires and the 1990s siege. The person buried in the türbe (mausoleum) shown in your photos is Gazi Husrev-Bey, the renowned Ottoman governor and benefactor of Sarajevo who died in 1541. The images depict the interior of his octagonal mausoleum in the courtyard of the Gazi Husrev-Bey Mosque, featuring his green-draped sarcophagus (often with gold embroidery) on a red carpet, along with ornate striped walls, chandeliers, and Arabic calligraphy. A second, smaller sarcophagus in the same space belongs to his deputy, Murat Bey Tardić (died 1545/46), a converted Christian who served as a military leader and administrator of Gazi’s waqf (endowment)

This is the largest and one of the oldest mosques in the region, with significant historical value. Built in 1531 by Gazi Husrev-beg, the Ottoman governor of Bosnia, it is a prime example of early Ottoman architecture in the Balkans and was one of the first mosques in the world to receive electricity in the late 19th century. It’s certainly worth viewing from the outside for its architectural and historical significance. However, the paid entry to the interior, museum, and madrassa opposite felt underwhelming — especially if you’ve visited grander mosques elsewhere, such as in Morocco or the Jama Masjid in Delhi. Not a worthwhile use of time or money in comparison.

Founded in the 16th century, this vakuf is more than just a historical site. It’s the spiritual cornerstone of the city, capturing the essence of an Ottoman urban centre. The harmonious proportions of the central dome, the elegant arcaded portico and the sleek minaret are truly a testament to architectural brilliance. This complex was heavily shelled during the Bosnian War, and underwent extensive restoration. Its continued presence today makes it it a powerful symbol of the city's resilience. Also, its location at the heart of the bustling Baščaršija (Old Town), surrounded by traditional shops and lively cafes, makes it easily accessible and perfectly integrated into the city's vibrant historical fabric.

Beautiful historic mosque. A unique monument in the Balkans. We love the environment. It seems without it, Sarajevo is not touristic. It should have its own financial support, not depend on foreign bodies to maintain it.

After staying in the old town of Sarajevo for a few days, I’ve built a special bond with this Mosque. I find peace in every corner of it.

Baščaršija is a historic market in Sarajevo's Old Town, dating back to the 1400s. It was originally built as a caravanserai and has since evolved into a bustling Oriental bazaar with mosques, hammams, and cobbled alleyways. The district became a thriving trading hub in the 17th century, housing numerous workshops practicing various crafts.
Sarajevo is a beautiful city full of history, culture, and warm people. From the lively streets of Baščaršija to stunning mountain views, every corner is worth exploring. Delicious food, unique coffee, and unforgettable experiences make this city a must-visit!

Sarajevo is such a unique and fascinating city it is full of history, culture, and charm. You can feel the mix of East and West everywhere: Ottoman-era bazaars, Austro-Hungarian streets, and modern city life all side by side. Walk through Baščaršija, find a coffee shop and enjoy the Bosnian coffee
J — Google review
This area is obviously very touristy but part of its charm comes from all the people just relaxing at cafes. I went in the afternoon around 3 pm and it was quite busy. I also plan to drop by earlier in the day when it is a bit quieter. It is the part of town where you can transport yourself back to what it might have been like in “ye olden days”

Baščaršija is Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city. Baščaršija was built in the 15th century when Isa-beg Ishaković founded the city. On Baščaršija there are several important historic buildings, such as the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque and Sahat-kula. Today Baščaršija is the major tourist attraction of Sarajevo. In the local coffee shop they serv the best coffee.

Baščaršija, Sarajevo — What an amazing experience! The whole area has such a traditional and unique vibe, full of history, charm, and life. The food and sweets are absolutely delicious, and the people are incredibly kind and welcoming. Walking through Baščaršija feels like stepping back in time — a must-visit for anyone coming to Sarajevo!

Feast your eyes and heighten your smell, taste and hearing while watching your spending. You can easily over eat and spend! Judge for yourself as I shared pictures taken while strolling through restaurants, vendors, desserts, coffees and so much more! Definitely a must when you visit Bosnia. Please thumbs up if you appreciate the information.

Baščaršija is Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city. Baščaršija was built in the 15th century when Isa-beg Isaković founded the entire town. The word Baščaršija comes from the word "baš", which means "main" in Turkish, so Baščaršija means "main bazaar". Due to a big fire in the 19th century, today's Baščaršija is twice as small as it used to be. Baščaršija is located on the northern bank of the river Miljacka, in the municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo. Baščaršija is home to several important historical buildings, such as the Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower. Today, Baščaršija is the main tourist attraction of the city of Sarajevo.

Sarajevo is such a beautiful city and its Central market square is a unison of cultures, religions and people from all over the world. It is lovely just to stroll among narrow streets, grab some coffee or food as well as do some local craft shopping.

Sarajevo City Hall

City Hall
Sights & Landmarks
Sarajevo City Hall, also known as the Sarajevo City Council building, is a historic landmark in the city. Originally built in 1896, it served as the headquarters of ruling authorities and later as a national library until it suffered significant damage during the Serbian shelling of the city in 1992. After extensive restoration, it reopened to visitors in 2014. The building features an Austrian-Hungarian architectural style and houses various rooms and halls displaying art and archaeological pieces.
A very beautiful building, both outside and inside. There are a few exhibitions and a museum inside. The entrance fee is 10 Bosnian marks. It was completely destroyed during the siege of Sarajevo, but it has been beautifully restored. Wonderful architecture and artwork.
Diana M — Google review
If you are interested in architecture it is a must see. The outside is excellent but the true beauty lies inside. You can also find some of the history inside. At the top floor you may also find some modern art.

Sarajevo City Hall, or Vijećnica, is one of the city’s most stunning landmarks, blending neo-Moorish architecture with rich history. Originally built in the late 19th century, it was destroyed during the war and beautifully restored to its former grandeur. Inside, the ornate halls and exhibitions highlight Sarajevo’s cultural past. Located by the Miljacka River, it’s a must-visit for architecture lovers and history enthusiasts, offering both beauty and a poignant reminder of resilience.
Dani B — Google review
Fantastic piece of architecture that has served as the inspiration for many other buildings around the country. While there are some damaged areas remaining from the war, the exterior has more or less been restored to its past state and its location right in front of the Miljacka area river is quite a sight. The building was closed off to the public when I visited but it seems there are still some days when one can go inside, so be sure to check if you are lucky.

The iconic Vijećnica (Sarajevo City Hall), a masterpiece of pseudo-Moorish architecture built in 1896, stands majestically along the Miljacka River. Its striking red-and-yellow stripes, intricate arches, and dome reflect the city’s rich multicultural heritage. Destroyed during the 1992 siege, it was lovingly restored and reopened in 2014 as the National Library and a powerful symbol of resilience. A must-visit for history buffs and photographers alike.

More than a museum — a place that wakes you up This place isn’t just beautiful — you can see that in the photos. But it holds something deeper. It holds history. Standing here, I had to admit something to myself: how much I don’t know. How much passes by, unnoticed. How much noise surrounds us. And how hard it is to reach the truth. To really understand what happened — and what still happens. You live your peaceful life. And you think you understand the world. But then you come here. And you realize: when innocent people are killed — it doesn’t matter whose “side” it is. It’s not about sides anymore. It’s about humanity. This place — this museum — shook me. Not with aggression. Not with guilt. But with presence. With clarity. It didn’t give me easy answers. It gave me a moment of awakening. And I know I will carry that with me.

A must visit building, beautifully rebuilt after it was destroyed and put on fire at the time of genocide in 90s. It has history to tell inside and always some art exhibitions, adding a few clicks for you guys and sharing a bit of history of the building below. Situated at the intersection of three major streets in Sarajevo, the City Hall is a monument to the multiculturalism of Bosnia. Built between 1892 and 1894, the pseudo-Moorish building honoured the Muslim background of this Austro-Hungarian territory. The building has been used for various municipal purposes since its construction, including as a city court and parliament house, which it was until 1948, when it became the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On August 25-26, 1992, the City Hall was hit by heavy artillery and incendiary bombs. The hall was set ablaze, and the entire library holdings were lost. The fire caused severe damage to the structural and decorative elements of the building. In 1996, the government of Austria funded an initial restoration effort that focused on load-bearing walls and masonry. The European Commission followed in 1999 with funds to continue restoration of structural elements.

Historical landmark during the war the building was burned and a lot of books close to 1 million have been burned. Now restored the building looks beautiful. You’re able to walk in for a small fee I believe 2 euros.
