Very nice fortress overlooking the city of Salzburg. You get some magnificent view from up there. You also have the opportunity to got to the top of the fortress and get a full 360 degree view of the region. They have some nice museums and displays inside the fortress. Definitely worth it to spend some good amount of time. Even if you are here for short time, it would recommend 1.5hr just to walk through the entire area.

Bought the entrance and funicular train ticket and it's a enjoyable trip up the hill to the castle. Plenty of stuff to see in the fortress and also great view of Salzburg city from the top of the castle. Really beautiful scenery and we don't want to leave but had to rush to find the train station as we need to catch the 12pm Hallstatt tour.

We visited the Fortress Hohensalzburg and had a memorable experience. We didn’t know about the funicular to go up, so we walked all the way — a great cardio workout and a nice way to enjoy the surroundings. 🏰 The fortress itself is beautiful and very well preserved, offering a fascinating glimpse into Salzburg’s history. The museum inside is truly impressive, with excellent exhibits that make the visit even more enriching. 🌄 The highlight, however, is the breathtaking view from the top. Looking out over Salzburg and the surrounding mountains is simply unforgettable. ✅ Overall, Fortress Hohensalzburg is a must-see attraction in Salzburg. Whether you take the funicular or walk up, the combination of history, architecture, and stunning scenery makes it well worth the visit.

Truly beautiful, must see spot in Salzburg. Definitely recommend the panaromic view from the fortress tower. We unfortunately hadn’t visited neither the museum nor the armory, but we enjoyed it anyway. We really appreciated the stand where we could get for ourselves some Glühwein and simply enjoy the beautiful night view.

We thought there would be more spaces that were open for tours, but the tour was still good. The restaurant in the fortress was great! Service was great as well as the food and we enjoyed as much as we could eat as the portion sizes were large.

This is a fascinating site. There are many things to see in this historic place. Be prepared for some step climbing to get the very best views. We enjoyed learning all the history about the Fortress. There are rooms full of interesting items dating from ancient times to modern life.

Amazing castle and exhibition. Everything is modern, interactive and multisensory. Truly a nice example of the basic of how exhibitions today should look like. Plus the ticket's price is also very okay. 100% recommend buying tickets in advance though, there was a super long queue when buying on the spot.

Beautiful cathedral!! Entrance fee is a modest 5 Euros. Once inside be sure to check out the underground in the far back left (facing the altar). Also there’s a giant metal structure where Mozart was baptized as a child (see in my photos)

Beautiful large cathedral with high ceiling and open space. We got lucky as a small group of musicians were performing which allowed the music to echo throughout the cathedral which made for a peaceful ambiance. I would highly recommend visiting this place.

Just amazing! The Cathedral has a unique architecture and we also booked ourselves for an organ concert. Every day at noonafter the 12 o'clock bells there is an organ concert. It's preferable you book your place. The player changed the organs and during half hour he played different pieces to three different organs. A must do activity in Salzburg.

Nice cathedral and need 5 euro entrance ticket. We were here on the first day of Rupertikirtag festival, so the stalls and other activities are just starting to kick off the festivities. From here we walk to the Festung Hohensalzburg gate to buy the cable car ticket.

Totally worth the time to collect oneself inside out of the cold for a few private moments in prayer. An amazing dome and frescos are amazing showing of the Passion of Christ. - Jesus, show me the path of life!

An absolutely beautiful church! This stands out from many of the other churches we’d seen because of the stunning black and white design that makes the paintings pop. The organ was also beautiful. There is an entrance fee but the discount with the Salzburg card brings it down to €3.5 per person.

Expensive but worth the trip! The bus is a little confusing, but you have to take the city (838) bus to the Dokumentation station and then buy a tour bus pass to get to the top. 838 drops you off and picks you up from the same area. Convenient! Costs around 11.50Euro for round trip from the main station to the tour station. Keep your ticket for the return. Can also just buy a one-way ticket. We went middle of October. Snow was VERY slippery (and wet) so bring good shoes or walking poles. Was cold but not super cold. Thumbs up if this review helped you! :)

We were surrounded by clouds going up the mountain, but once we went up the elevator, it was clear skies and beautiful. The house is a restaurant which i did not go to. You can climb a little bit of the mountain and take breathtaking pictures.

Great experience and amazing views!!! If you go when there is snow, expect no treatment on paths could be very treacherous. Would do it again for sure!!! Restaurant was very good also, would eat there again. You need to park then take a bus up to elevator.

This is a very cool place to visit. It’s great that such a historical place has remained largely unchanged since construction. Even if you’re not interested in World War II history, the site offers fantastic views assuming the weather is cooperative. We had a nice lunch in the restaurant and I hope to visit again with clearer weather.

A very good experience. The bus trip up and down is excellent, it makes you appreciate the work involved to create the road in such a short time period. The views from the top are just phenomenal.

Must see and worth the 15 min electrical bus drive up mountain. Spectacular views. Terrible history but worth remembering all of us to have this never happen again. In the sun-gallery there is some information on the site and history.

Amazing….it was even better than I imagined. There’s a restaurant there that also doesn’t gouge you on prices. The trip up on the bus is an event in itself, followed by the short walk up along the original entrance tunnel and into the same original gold coloured lift. Incidentally the lift holds over 30 people! Then when you get out you are above the clouds and it’s epic. If you are near there, I would highly recommend it

The gardens are magnificent. Symmetry and colors are combined in beautiful compositions. Access to the gardens is free. The palace itself is also free, but there is nothing to see. Access is only to the staircase, which is magnificent, but it is disappointing that there is no access to the halls. We only managed to peek into one.

It's a really beautiful and popular place in Salzburg that everyone have to see. The gardens are stunning and you can enjoy sitting around and taking photos. There are also classical music concerts there, which are definitely a must-see if you love this genre!

Even in late October, without all the flowers, the gardens are well kept and beautiful. I’m a huge fan of the dwarf garden! Very fun, though not PC (bc history is not PC) statues in there! Worth a walk through and FREE. The only part of the palace that was accessible was the marble staircase area—I believe it had a real name. Pretty, but the gardens are better!

Nice walk around the gardens with the memorable views of the Sound of Music. There were three weddings going on at the same time. Seems the palace was closed for visitors today. Loaded with tourists parties there for the same reason as us no doubt.

Even though it was rainy a lot, the sculptures at the outskirts of the palace and the gardens inside were pretty. The cobblestone ground was a bit swampy and uncomfortable to walk, but anyway I bet it'd be fascinating to revisit there on sunny days.

The nature around the lake is spectacular. It is a must-see place with beautiful landscapes and a great choice for a romantic trip. You can take a boat ride and live a dream!

Königssee is stunning! Clear emerald water, surrounded by mountains – a true paradise. The boat ride and echo experience are unforgettable, and St. Bartholomä looks like a postcard. Best to go early to avoid crowds.

One of the most beautiful lakes in Germany! The emerald water and mountain views are just breathtaking. You can take a boat trip, walk along the shore, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Everything is very well organized with good facilities and parking nearby. A must-see if you’re in Bavaria! 🚤🌲💚

The most unforgettable palce in Germany. I visited this place in October. You can take boat and hearing the horn sounds while taking the boat to explore the lake view.

This was our second visit to Königssee after eight years – and the lake still amazes us just as much ☺️ The boat ride is a fantastic experience – maybe not the cheapest, but definitely worth it. On the way, the guide explains everything in both German and English, and one of the highlights is when they play the trumpet and the sound echoes back beautifully from the mountains – a truly unique moment. We recommend stopping at St. Bartholomä, and then continuing by boat to Salet, from where you can walk to Obersee and further to Röthbachfall, Germany’s highest waterfall. The scenery along the way is absolutely stunning – Königssee is one of those places you’ll always want to return to.

No doubt one of the highlights of our trip to Bavaria, a boat ride across the lake and lunch on the far side. The location is extremely popular, the parking area alone is huge, I imagine it serves other activity points as well. Very touristy on the approach to the ferry jetties, loads of souvenir shops and restaurants/ food outlets. Around lunchtime boats leave every five minutes, we had no waiting time, we bought a ticket and hopped straight onto the next ferry. Everything was highly efficient. Loved it.

I love this lake, a lake for Kings with breathtaking view, clear water, majestic landscape and sustainable tourism development,… it is worthy to explore and immerse yourself in nature.

Spectacular visit to this Schloss -- really needs half a day. The ferry ride across the See is pleasant and calm, the breezes are refreshing on a warm summer day. Great to learn the history and experience the charm of this beautiful setting.

Fabulous palace on an island in Lake Chiemsee. This is a great place to see the extravagance of Ludwig II. It offers a peak into his obsession with French royalty and his lavish tastes. The palace and gardens are fantastic. (No photos allowed inside, which is a bummer.)

Magnificent, and rich interiors. If the king hadn't lived in his dream project for more than a handful days, so does it not deserve to be visited more than once in my life time. Palace guided Tour is about 40 minutes. No photography allowed strictly! This is what I didn't like the most. It's worth the hype and not worth the hype at the same time. Museum is also interesting visit

Palace looks big, but only 1/3 of it was finished and is available for visitors. Removing 1 star for a strict no-pictures policy. The mountain view is beautiful ❤️

Lake Helen Kim Palace is a magnificent palace modeled after the Palace of Versailles in France. It is a Baroque building. In winter, flocks of geese and ducks graze on the lake, and strolling through the woods on the island offers stunning views of the vibrant autumn foliage.

You have to buy entry Ticket to see the interior Palace with a guide. Taking picture inside of d palace it's not allowed, just outside it's possible. You have to pay extra when u need to go to the 🚻 & it was not cheap!

This is a really pretty palace and a great history lesson for people who don’t know much about kind Ludwig II. The palace itself is whacky and lavish and the gardens, fountains, and exterior are beautiful and scenic. The island has some great walking paths and is a fun outing. The boat there and back also has pretty views and runs fairly consistently. Keep in mind that the price of the boat and the palace entrance/tour are a separate price, the palace ticket does give you access to quite a bit though. The only reason it’s a 4 star review is that you can’t take pictures inside the palace which is a little disappointing but not a huge deal. Overall this is a great stop but does take some time.

Really fine and big ski area. For me personally I don’t think it’s something extra, as some people talk about it. But very good overall.

Resort and facilities deliver on its promise. Transport to and from is easy and convenient, be it arriving by train bus or car. Maybe expensive, but snow coverage, size, overall quality, lift system, scenery, and food outlets are pretty good. Decent red/blue ratio and off piste opportunities are on offer. Nice clientele and lively apres... We had 6 consecutive days of blue birds in the middle of january leading up to the FIS races, albeit at the expense of some gradual deterioration in conditions. S3 bahn/ Jochberg side offers wide and long runs. Skiing all the way down to the town and main lifts is possible. Recommended..

Fun ride to the ski run, lovely views and walks and a good café. ....and cows with bells!

A great place for ski. The numerous slopes are well maintained, and for at least the two times I have been here The site wasn't crowded and there haven't been any line for the lifts.

Great resort with good lifts in a nice, quiet, beautiful and welcoming town. Was there during the week and it was not very crowded. Good food at base and huts. The runs were well groomed. The only regret is they we didn’t have more time there. Will definitely return. Loved staying at Gamshof hotel!

Very nice place. The ticket is about 25 EUR but the view is splendid. It feels a bit expensive in summer however the view is very nice. There is no vegetarian restaurant at the mountain top. Hence I would suggest to carry our own food at mountain top. You might want to eat something at mountain top considering the view , which is fabulous. However only drinks are served which is not do good during lunch time.

Impressive fortress, well worth a visit. Keep in mind, though, that it is a medieval fortress, and as such, there are plenty of staircases all around. You should not go there if you have mobility problems.

Probably one of my preferred fortresses to visit. Lots of different areas to get around and lots to see. We took the funicular up and down from the fortress.

Great place to visit. A lot of interesting displays, with signage in English, which was nice for me. The torture instruments were a bit eye opening. Make sure you are in shape, a lot of walking and inclines, and not all smooth surfaces. But if you are mobile, you will manage fine. Great views of the city and valley below. Just when you thought you would be done, there was another nook or cranny to explore. I arrived via train from Rosenheim. Easy walk to the entrance.

We took the BRB train from Munich to Tegernsee Lake, which was an easy and comfortable trip that took about an hour. We went just for sightseeing without swimming or taking a boat. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The lake and mountains create a stunning view that feels relaxing and refreshing. It’s a great place to walk around, sit by the water, and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Even without any activities, it was worth the visit. Highly recommend Tegernsee for anyone looking for a quiet escape from the city.

This is the most amazing place I have visited so far. Want to visit this mesmerizing deramy place again. I felt like, I was walking in a fairy tale movie set. Although camera can not do justice to the breathtaking beauty of this place, still tried to capture a bit.

Tegernsee is one of the most beautiful lakes and even places, I have ever seen and been to!! Small lake and town near to Munich, less than 2 hours by car and also you can get there with train very comfortably, during pandamic all the shops in a small town are close but there are many small local shops for dining and decorative stuffs. But we enjoy sightseeing, hiking, relaxing and we were lucky because it was sunny that day and it helped us to enjoy more. Definitely I will come back and stay there for couple of days in hotel, one fay was not enough for me !!

Clear water, amazing people, great pubs nearby, place for kids, pets, for everything. As a fellow enjoyer of mountains i rate this. One of the best places i’ve ever been in my life (probably the best). Theres volleyball, pingpong, camping, huge open spots for group activities. Im returning there for sure! Pictures cant express how good it is. The lil swiss bear enjoyed it aswell.

Achen Lake is where the mountains lean in to kiss the water, and the sky drapes its light like silk across the waves. As I stood by the shore, the emerald waters mirrored not only the peaks above but the stillness within me. Each ripple felt like a whisper from nature — a reminder to breathe deeper, live slower, and let beauty seep into the soul. Here, time doesn’t pass; it pauses, so you can remember who you truly are.

Love this lake for a day out. The ferry ride is fun and the views are amazing. The hiking trail is good too – not too hard and really scenic.

Beautifull place. You can bath in the lake, but not for everyone cause it is very cold, the upside is that it is very healthy doing cold baths. There is a boat service to take you around the lake, also you can rent electric boats to go on the lake, 30€ 1 hour. You can also walk or bike. Strongly recommend.

A very beautiful lake with its views, you must take a boat ride and stop at the village of Pertisau, and also the steam train ride is not to be missed.

The FC Bayern stadium (Allianz Arena) has a very high capacity. The exterior design is modern and can change color at night. It houses both a Museum and an FC Bayern Store. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to join the Arena Tour, which is a real shame. The downside of this stadium is that there are very few nice photo spots outside, apart from taking pictures with the stadium itself, and if you come by U-Bahn, it's a very long and exhausting walk.

Wonderful arena and an amazing experience. My dad received a VIP tour and museum tickets for his 59th birthday. We were guided around the stadium and even taken to exclusive areas like the locker room and the tunnel where the players walk out before the match. The museum has absolutely everything, and the layout is beautifully done. I was also pleasantly surprised that the stadium shop is not overpriced at all. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. Even though I’m not a football fan myself, we went because of my father, and I actually felt sad to leave because I enjoyed it so much. Go Bayern München! 🫶🏻❤️⚽️

Bayern Munich's stadium is located 12 minutes from the city center by metro. The fans are the heart of the club, arriving early and enjoying the experience of a cold beer. The stadium's sound system is very high quality. I had a lot of fun watching and participating in the victory over FC Freiburg. Unsere FC Bayern Munchen gewinn mit 6 : 2, stadion was almost full 75 000 person was realy enjoyed this football atmosphere. Mia San Mia. 🥳🍀⚽🙏🇩🇪🏆

The group tour is great. To get to see all the history behind such a big club was a great experience. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit again whit the hopes of seeing a match. Overall it was cool and the best part is that I didn’t have to sell kidney to take the tour, it was really affordable. Definitely recommend checking it out.

We booked the English speaking tour with Franz, and he was very informative and engaging. There was plenty of Oporto take photos, and you could visit the change rooms, sit in the stands and on the substitutes bench. Afterwards we visited the museum which was very interactive. You could take a photo of yourself and have it appear on a scrolling wall of photos, and there was also the opportunity to take a photo with your favourite players. There are things for kids to do, such as building their own trophy with blocks, as well as a stadium with Lego. There is a small futsal pitch for them to play on, as well as climbing equipment. It’s definitely worth the visit for the whole family.

The wonderful place to visit. I highly recommend to join the guide tour because you can experience a very special introduction in the court. The one thing is, you can understand the space of stadium and also you can learn the history of the stadium.

Great stadium, truly impressive from the moment you walk in. The shop is huge, well-stocked, and full of cool merch for every type of fan. The museum is surprisingly rich with history, displaying iconic moments, trophies, and even a small cinema where you can sit and enjoy a short film about the club’s journey. The stadium tour itself is well-organized, informative, and gives you access to some amazing angles you don’t normally get to see. Staff throughout the entire experience were warm, helpful, and very professional. Highly recommended if you’re a football fan or simply appreciate great sporting culture and storytelling.

A kind of “Central Park” in Munich – a very nice place to visit. The park is spacious, green, and perfect for a walk or to just relax. A special highlight is the surfers on the river – definitely a must-see attraction that makes this place unique.

One of the best places of the city. Perfect for strolling around, making picnics, relax to the sound of the leaves. For me, the best spot is the lake, where you can sit next to lots of ducks and other kinds of bird.

The English Garden in autumn is absolutely stunning. The trees turn golden, red, and orange, creating a beautiful contrast with the rivers and meadows. It’s perfect for peaceful walks, cycling, or just relaxing under the colorful leaves. The atmosphere feels calm and magical — a must-visit spot to experience Munich’s fall beauty.

A very beautiful place to visit. Basically u can do any outdoor activity outside, volleyball..picnics..football…even surfing?? So surprised. The water is very clear, u can see through it till the bottom. Full of energy.

This is, without a doubt, the best place in Munich. It's a massive, beautiful urban park that feels like a world away from the city. You could easily spend an entire day here relaxing, walking, or watching the surfers.

A must see if you're in Munich. Absolutely an amazing park with lots to see and do there. Playgrounds for kids, lot's of places to get something to eat and drink. Plus a couple of places to surf, yes you read correctly surf. The river is very clean and as you can see in the photos, very popular with surfer's and fun to watch for non surfers. A true gem of a park in Munich. Oh this park is huge it'll take a few hours to take it all in.

There was a lot of exhibits to see and it was nice to have listening stations throughout For English as well. There were some hands on experiences, I was hoping for some more and looking for something a bit more interactive. There was a very wide variety of things to see throughout a journey through history. Overall a nice experience.

It's a vast general museum, encompassing everything not covered in the art and antique museums. Currently half of it is under renovation, but the open part is big enough to keep you busy for a long time. I focused mainly on the air and space aspect, nice collection of vintage and more modern planes, some of the very first rockets including a V2, and a very nice floor on spaceships. I also enjoyed the section on coding. I checked out photography, printing and musical instruments before my time ran out. It was a solid 3 hours. Overall it is good, not necessarily a must-see if you are first time visitor to Munich pressed on time.

A wonderful place to visit with children. The museum offers a great experience, and the restaurant–café on the roof is definitely worth a stop. The river view at sunset is stunning — the sunlight shimmering on the water creates a beautiful scene. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop on your way out for some nice souvenirs.

They had everything there. From engines to aircrafts, nuclear physics to spacecrafts, electronics, medicinal technologies, old and new cameras, receent semiconductor technologies, bridges, pendulums, fighter jets, agriculture and husbandry & whatever your cup of tea is. It is a great museum with literally any type of science in it. It is definitely a must go and you would regret it if you didn't.

Deutsches Museum is not just an exhibit hall: it is a journey through how human curiosity, experimentation, and engineering have shaped the world. If you love science or tech—or want to challenge yourself to understand how many things work (from steam engines to quantum bits), this museum will reward you. The city center of Munich is an absolutely stunning and lively area centered around the famed Marienplatz. Dominated by the magnificent Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall), a Neo-Gothic architectural gem, the square's highlight is the famous Glockenspiel, which draws crowds daily to watch its mechanical figures perform. The area is a fantastic blend of history and modern life, with the towering Frauenkirche (Cathedral) just a short walk away, alongside the bustling Viktualienmarkt and the start of the main pedestrian shopping zones (like Kaufingerstraße). Whether you're sightseeing at the Residenz, shopping for luxury goods, or simply soaking up the authentic Bavarian atmosphere at a nearby Wirtshaus, the city center serves as the perfect, walkable hub for exploring all that Munich has to offer.

The BMW Museum in Munich is a must-visit; especially if you love cars and design. The building itself is modern and impressive; showcasing the brand’s history from classic models to future innovations. The exhibits are beautifully organized; each section tells a clear story with amazing visuals and interactive displays. You can see everything from vintage BMWs to new ones up close. It’s clean, well-run, and easy to explore. Definitely one of the best car museums in the world.

Great experience. So they have a combination of a Car showroom and the Museum. The Museum is divided into Rooms with numbers marked and different categories of cars and bikes. The entire power train portion has very nice engines to see from Aircrafts to marine, etc. m Must Visit

So, if you like cars its a must stop in München, I would highly recommend you to buy your tickets before arriving, it can get a bit full if you dont plan in advanced, the Museum has free lockers so its also a big benefit. Also in the museum is card only ( weird for being Germany) but a great thing to know. Theres different types of tours available and also shops. In the other side of the museum ( crossing the bridge) theres BMW Welt which is also nice and free

Well laid out and easy to navigate the museum. I bought tickets on my phone as i walked up to the building but there are also koisks inside. There are free lockers for small/medium bags and a jacket. There is a small Cafe with sandwiches, salad, pizza, drinks and coffee. If your thing is cars, motorcycles, airplanes, motors or just BMW in general this is a must see.

Really interesting museum, that is showing history of this brand. A lot of interesting cars and other artefacts. For me there was really interesting engine cut-outs, where You can see, how motor is operating. Most of descriptions is available in english language.

One of the most relaxing spots near Munich! The shore at Starnberg is clean, calm, and offers stunning views of the lake — especially on clear days when you can even spot the Alps. There are plenty of benches, walking paths, and grassy areas to sit and unwind. The promenade is perfect for a quiet walk, with cafés and bakeries nearby if you want a coffee or snack. Whether you’re coming alone for reflection, with family, or for a light picnic, it’s a beautiful escape that feels both serene and safe. Highly recommend for a day trip or just a few quiet hours by the water. Many water sports are available for adventure enthusiasts. Large area of shore at Starnberg town side is privately owned and can't be accessible for public.

One of the many scenic lakes surrounding Munich, though it arguably has the least welcoming atmosphere. I’ve biked there many times, but rarely find myself wanting to stay for long. Still, on a clear day, you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Alps in the distance. Even more spectacular views if you fly above.

I see why it’s Luwid II favorite lake….. you can see the Aples very clearly as backdrops everywhere. It’s literally stunning.🤩

Starnberger See is a very beautiful lake! It is very serene and calm. It's a place where you can go to unwind and relax and enjoy a break away from the city. With RE it took us just 15 minutes from Munich Hauptbahnhof. Would highly recommend this place!

The reception staff behind the Wallfahrtskirche were very helpful. I was able to obtain some Klein Geld for the Wohnmobilstellplatz here. They could however not explain why the Chapel of Sorrows and Carl Orff shrine were locked shut! Said it never closes! At least 20 people were disappointed.

Its a whole experience even getting here, including an hour or so hike, but so very worth it. Our hike was beautiful, fall colors everywhere. The pilgrimage church is stunning, the scenery in the Bavarian hills is breathtaking, and the beer is some of the best we had in Germany. If you're staying in Munich or the surrounding area, you should go.

This place is known for its very drinkable beer and views over the surrounding countryside. I had a Schweinshaxe (crispy pork leg) and struggled to eat it with the potato salad and the red cabbage.

The trip tour was enjoyable, and the scenery towards the area was like a painting. The castle and its surrounding gardens offered a truly breathtaking view. It would have been preferable to have had more time to fully appreciate the surroundings because an hour was not sufficient, as the guided tour inside the castle lasted only 25 minutes. The interior of the castle was quite beautiful and ornate. No photos or video allowed inside the castle.

This is a beautiful dream palace that speaks to the wealth of the region. The interior is simply breathtaking , especially the mirrors hall, and the palace itself is nestled among tall hills that seem like blue printed to add to the grandeur of the king and his legacy, albeit in infrastructure alone as Ludwig II left no heirs

Schloss Linderhof is magnificent. What an extraordinary park with a decadent palace and a truly impressive Venus Grotto. This is where dreams come true for all admirers of absolutism — a truly unique experience. From the landscaped gardens, the fountain to breathtaking Alpine views, this place offers everything one could wish for. The guided tour of the palace is somewhat short, as Schloss Linderhof itself is not particularly large, but it is nonetheless rich in detail and absolutely worthwhile. This place is an absolute must-see! A wholehearted recommendation. Entrance fees and parking costs are entirely reasonable.

Bavaria in the fall is a cornucopia of colors, and the grounds of Schloss Linderhof are stunning even with empty flower beds. Tours of the inside of the palace are timed and can accommodate whatever your native language happens to be. My husband and I went on the English speaking tour, and our guide was wonderfully informative and answered all of the questions the group had. Photos and video are not allowed inside the palace but are allowed in the Venus Grotto. King Ludwig II was an interesting historical figure. This castle is the only one Ludwig spent any real amount of time in, and it was his love letter to the Palace of Versailles and King Luis XIV. I’d highly recommend seeing this palace for yourself.

I love visiting Ludwig II castles and I think that this one is one of my personal favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the gardens and the castle itself. Yes the castle is very small compared to the other ones he made but the inside is as spectacular as the others. Also you can find some hidden treasures in the garden like the Venus Grotto or the Moroccan pavilion which (if I remember correctly) he bought from the Paris Fair. It’s really amazing! The visit of the castle is with a tour guide and no photos are allowed inside unfortunately. The visit is quite short and you can’t always hear everything because it’s busy. The group is too big for the size of the rooms so you can’t admire it peacefully. It’s a shame! Also the management could be improved. We wanted to visit the Venus Grotto and had to come early in the morning to book our ticket. We already had our timed tickets for the palace but couldn’t get the Venus Grotto beforehand. So when they gave us the ticket the time slot was almost the same as the guided tour. We told them and they said we could join any tour of the morning. When we tried to do that we were told that it was tricky because they only allowed a certain amount inside. We ended up waiting for almost an hour before getting inside with another group for an English tour. But it was a bit stressful and we lost quite some time.

Jaw dropping! Instantly you can see why this palace is a World Heritage Site. This is a VERY small palace but every single inch of it is full of decoration and design! Make sure you get a ticket to the Grotto, it is straight out of Little Mermaid! This entire destination is over the top and if your mouth isn’t hanging on the ground like all 6 of us, I’d be shocked. Pictures are not allowed inside, so my pictures are from the internet (I have limited them). We weren’t sure about the weather so we purchased our tickets when we arrived and got them easily. The walk to this palace wasn’t too bad, it has a few hills we took our time and it took half hour to get to the castle and we took a half hour to get to the Grotto…my 75 year old parents made it (one has knee issues and the other hip replacement). The grounds are stunning and full of flowers, fountains and views! We spent 5 hours there EASILY. We packed a picnic and ate on the benches that are all around this palace. Bathrooms are limited so use them when you see them. There are hiking trails all around the property with views of mountains.

Absolutely gorgeous palace. The drive and location is absolutely beautiful. The tour was very informative. No photos are allowed in the palace but I was able to buy a beautiful book with all 3 castles of king Ludwig which had amazing photos of inside.

Went on a Augsburg Fugger Tour. Last stop was the Fuggerei. Have always been curious about it and it's history. Quite amazing that it still exists till this day an age and functioning the same way it always has. Absolutely incredible. The grounds are extremely well kept and just a beautiful part of living history. Must go when you visit Augsburg. After the tour you can also visit tiny beer garden by the entrance.

Really cool to hear about how this social housing was started. The people can live here for €1 per year, and just have to be Catholic, pray everyday, and be in need. It’s definitely worth the €8 entrance fee.

It was a wonderful experience visiting the world’s oldest public housing. We went on a weekday morning, and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, which made exploring even more enjoyable. Purchasing the ticket at the entrance was simple, and the site itself was easy to navigate. The area is beautifully maintained, with so much attention to detail that you really feel immersed in its rich history. Walking through the space gives you a true sense of cultural heritage, and it’s both educational and inspiring. I would definitely recommend this visit to anyone interested in culture and history—it’s a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience something truly special.

I visited The Fuggerei on two different trips, once in 2010 and then again in 2023. It's a neat experience with in Augsburg and i definitely recommend checking it out. The history here is interesting for sure and the architecture in germany in general always amazes me. I would recommend tickets in advance, although was not busy when we went. My aunt had picked them up ahead of time for us.

The quaint buildings and quiet atmosphere feel more like a sleepy neighborhood than a captivating attraction. The real standout is the WWII bunker—an unexpectedly compelling and haunting part of the visit. It offers a chilling, immersive look into wartime life and far surpasses the rest of the experience. If you’re nearby and curious, stop by for the bunker, but otherwise, it’s probably not worth going out of your way.

A fascinating historical place that is definitely worth visiting. It beautifully combines the charm of the past with the spirit of the present. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the feeling of stepping back in time. The houses and small museums provide a wonderful glimpse into old life, and everything is well organized for visitors. Highly recommended when in Augsburg.

built in the 1600's by Elias Holl with the late renaissance architecture. it is the icon of the city with Eagle painting on the front and the pine coat of arm on the Top. impressive architecture and the entrance is free on the Groundfloor where you can visit the war memorials and ancient relics and modules from the City.

Quite a sight to behold from the outside, more so on the inside. Only a €2.50 entry fee for adults to enter the Goldener Saal (Golden Hall), which is very impressive. You can also visit a couple of informative exhibitions for free on the ground floor, including a brief history of Augsburg.

Wow. The golden room is definitely worth visiting. Reasonable €2.5 per person to visit. This beautiful building has a hidden golden nugget inside. Literally. The golden room has over 2.7kg (5Lbs) of gold coating all over the moldings and statues. The history of this over 450 years old building is fascinating, and how it survived and was rebuilt after WW2. The staff dis knowledgeable and super helpful with any questions when visiting. They even offer a folder in English or Spanish for international visitors.

The "golden saal" or the golden hall inside is beautiful and amazing. The entrance fee is cheap especially if you are student, anyway to enter the rathaus is free. You will also have a good view of the square down below from the hall.

Unfortunately, I didn't had the chance to enter this beautiful piece of history, just outside the views...

The castle location is so beautiful. It is a treat for the sight just to hike towards the castle that is surrounded by bavarian alps. The guided tour, on the other hand is rather short (only 30min). The rooms are accessible only by lots of stairs and no photography is allowed. Only 14 castle rooms were furnished. Furthermore during our visit the cafe was also closed. This was a bummer since the ticket is so expensive for 23euros per person. Furthermore even though young kids are allowed inside the castle for free they need their own ticket and it can't be booked online. The ticket we got got our toddler from the information booth did not have a scan code and my daughter could not get inside so i had to run to fund security to let her inside. The security guide solved the issue quickly though. The point is that the ticket handling system must be more organized and improved upon. On the other hand, the cave room, singers room and the balcony were breath taking so the hassle was kind of worth it. The ticket price should be reduced though. I would say overall it was a very pleasant experience.

A real-life Disney castle — but truly so much more than that! ✨ I still couldn’t get enough of this place. Every corner feels like stepping into a fairytale. The guided tour is a must — make sure to book it early, as tickets sell out fast. No photos are allowed inside, but it’s absolutely worth it. Each room reflects incredible richness, elegance, and the artistic soul of King Ludwig II — his passion for theatre, music, and beauty shines through every detail. It’s about a 20-minute walk uphill from the ticket area, but they also offer bus services (check the timings!) and horse-drawn carriage rides for a more scenic way up. The path is a bit steep, but once you reach the top, the view and the castle itself make every step worth it. King Ludwig II was truly a dreamer — and walking through his creation feels like walking inside his imagination. Go see it — it’s magical, surreal, and simply unforgettable. 🌄💙

The castle is located in a beautiful setting. Tickets may be bought online or in person (reservation recommended for peak season). There’s free shuttle from downtown Füssen to the ticket center. There’s plenty of paid parking. To get up to the castle you may hire a chariot or walk up for 30-40 minutes. The scenery is beautiful and it is worth the walk. During summer the path is shaded by the threes. Inside the castle there’s plenty of stairs to go up. I advise looking up if it is wheelchair accessible.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5-Star Review – Neuschwanstein Castle Parking at Platz 4 is very spacious and costs €12 for 6 hours, conveniently located right next to where you catch the bus up to the castle. The bus fare is €5 per adult round trip, and it’s a smooth ride with beautiful scenery along the way. At the top, the area is clear and open, perfect for walking or biking with stunning views all around. The trails are beautiful, offering several photo spots and breathtaking panoramas of the castle and the valley below. There’s also a small snack and souvenir shop at the top with plenty of space and clean bathrooms, making it an easy and comfortable stop before or after exploring. Overall, Neuschwanstein Castle is a magical experience — well worth the visit and the walk. The scenery alone makes it unforgettable!

When near Fussen and Schwangau Neuschwanstein Castle is a must. A beautiful 40 minute uphill walk will bring you there. You can take a shuttle or horse and buggy but the walk is doable if you like and are used to walking/hiking. We did not pay to go in but got good photos from many vantage points outside.

You won't regret visiting here. It's beautiful on the outside but absolutely gorgeous on the inside. If you have trouble walking, definitely take the horse carriage up and/or down (costs money). The walk down is much easier. They have the cutest store after the tour and don't forget to check out the view outside near the bathrooms before leaving. You will not regret it!!

Absolutely breathtaking and immersive. The hike up is beautiful and you can take your time just enjoying the scenery. Plenty of photo opportunities outside of the castle, but no pictures inside until you get to the cafe.

Definitely a must see castle. The grounds and the views are amazing. Unfortunately you cannot take photos of the interior. But nonetheless the interior doesn't disappoint either. I recommend that you get your ticket and tour time set up online. It definitely makes things easier. There are a few restaurants around the castle that have great food. Plus souvenir shoppes too.

Just a short 30-minute walk from the world-famous Neuschwanstein lies Schloss Hohenschwangau, and we can genuinely recommend adding it to your visit. While Neuschwanstein often gets most of the attention, Hohenschwangau has a charm and authenticity all of its own. Set against rolling hills, peaceful forests, and a beautiful lake, the castle feels more intimate and lived-in, offering a fascinating contrast to King Ludwig II’s fairytale creation. Tickets can be bought in advance—something we recommend, especially during busier months—and guided tours are offered in several languages. The tour provides wonderful insight into the history of the Bavarian royal family and the important role this castle played in Ludwig’s childhood. Many rooms remain furnished just as they were, which makes the visit feel historically rich and surprisingly personal. Even if you decide not to join a tour, the area around Schloss Hohenschwangau is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The paths are easy to navigate, and the views of the lake and surrounding mountains are incredibly beautiful. It’s a calm and charming place to unwind, especially after the more intense and crowded experience of Neuschwanstein. Overall, we found Schloss Hohenschwangau to be a beautiful and worthwhile addition to the day—less crowded, full of history, and surrounded by stunning scenery. If you’re already in the area, it’s absolutely worth visiting both castles to get the full experience of this remarkable region.

I visited a lot of Ludwig’s castles and this one isn’t the most spectacular per se but it is a must see specially if you’re interested in his history. This is where he grew up and where his parents lived. The castle has a lot of history that you can learn during your visit. The visit is made with a guide but you have an audio guide in your own language during the tour. It is activated in each room by the guide and lasts a few minutes. Our tour guide was young lady with dark hair. I don’t remember her name but she was one of the best guides I’ve encountered in a museum. She was lovely, smiling, added additional informations during our visit and was gentle. We had a great time visiting the castle thanks to her. You can also visit the gardens for free if you want but you have to book a ticket to see the inside. Also up here you get a nice view over the Neuschwanstein.

Overall, visiting Hohenschwangau Castle is one of the must do things for any tourist in the area. Personally my visit was both meaningful and enjoyable. The scenery was beautiful, the history fascinating and the atmosphere peaceful. It offered a valuable look into the roots of Ludwig II’s life and imagination, making it a visit worth remembering. On a side note, it’s recommended to book in advance, park your car in parking number 4 and keep in mind that only guided tours are offered inside as well as that picture and videos aren’t allowed.

Even tough it's not probably as nice as Neuschwanstein I really enjoyed being inside and especially a look through the window at the end of the tour. Around the castle there are food stands where you can enjoy a hot chilly and some sausage with drinks.

I visited the yellow castle since the smaller white one was sold out. I was blown away by how amazing the artwork is within. It's unfortunate that pictures aren't allowed inside considering how inspiring the story was. I'd suggest that more people book the yellow castle to see and learn about the old rulers.

A very successful experience for children aged 4-12. A large place with lots of options that are very difficult to complete in one day due to the long lines for most of the facilities. You have to arrive with a lot of patience. Overall, this is a park where the attractions themselves are not crazy, but the "wrapping" of Lego does its job. The place is very neat and clean and easy to navigate. Overall, this is a recommended day out for the family.

This is in my opinion the best of the 3 Legoland parks in Europe. Everything is good value here, especially the food and the quality of said food is fantastic. I went into the pizza restaurant and paid around €16 for a fresh out of the oven pizza and amazing chocolate tart. They both felt like they came from an expensive restaurant, very tasty and beautiful presentation. You have the best selection of rides here from small to thrilling. A really good variety - the best being Maximus. An absolutely thrilling b&m coaster which despite the short ride time, offers some incredible moments of weightlessness. The park is kept tidy and clean - the bathrooms are cleaned very regularly. Queues are managed well and have the bonus of single rider if you're a lone traveller like me. Saves a lot of time. Theres a few little themed shops dotted around and although a couple were closed on my trip due to the time of year possibly, there's still a lot on offer. More than any other Lego park in Europe like I said. I had the best 2 days here and I can't wait to come back again.

We took the kids to Germany and our first stop before traditional castles and museums was Legoland Germany! We LOVED it. Drove straight from airport to the hotel (we stayed at the Pirate Hotel), checked in, then did a full afternoon and evening till close. We ate at the steak restaurant near hotels and onsite for snacks, lunch, etc. We prepaid for breakfast at Pirate hotel. Because of birthdays, we did the birthday package (they decorated the room and more) and because tip mattered we did the VIP package. THIS was worth every penny! We skipped the line at every ride, got extra swag & mini figures, and store discounts [don’t forget to ask for tax refund forms at the store (typically 100 or more spent)]. The staff are awesome and most are bilingual if you are rusty. If you are a LEGO fan or traveling Germany with kids, this place is worth every penny! For the super fans, they had themes we found no where else (e.g. adventure series at the log ride); and rides that are not found at the US Legolands. Augsburg and Ulm are nearby if you need a culture/ museum break.

We spent lovely 2days here, great experience for us, adults and our kids. We had lovely weather, so a lot of people arrived, and some attractions were crowded, and we had to wait. Luckily it was just occasionally. Plus was Halloween decorations and products that can bring home🎃🎃 Thank you, will come again.

Great place for young kids . We spent one day there , 2 would have been better as we didn’t see everything. Very reasonable as once you pay all the rides are free . Ideal kids age 5-12.

An absolute dream holiday location for my family and I. My son and daughter loved it, the rides were great, food was good and queues were decent. Staff were very friendly, parking wasn't an issue and having Peppa Pig Park right next door made it ideal for my 2 year old daughter too! It was also great fun for my wife and I. Unforgettable memories were made and we cannot wait to visit once again!

If you or your kids like LEGO then you must visit, the place is huge and there are a lot of activities for all ages. To really cover it you need at least 2 days to get on most of the rides. The only downside is the large ques that form so you don't like to wait a lot then maybe pay more for the express pass. You can also get tickets online for both the park and the parking which I recommend to save some time.

This is an incredible place to visit. The walk in the gorge where you can see how high the water has been and how it cuts into the walls. Look up for some giant boulders caught above the gorge

This is a fantastic gorge to be explored by everybody. The pathway is broad enough to have two big guys walk abreast. There are no stairs or steps until the exit, and it makes sense to transverse the gorge twice to see it from two sides. The entire path within the gorge is nicely surfaced with concrete and very sturdy so slips are unlikely. On weekends, thousands of people visit, so buying a ticket online is recommended.

Paid 4 euros for the parking and about 7 to go in. You can see the place is being taken care of for the entrance price and the small hike is beautiful. I do recommend doing it a bit early though (around 10 AM was perfect for us), because it can become quite crowded.

Breitachklamm is an absolutely stunning natural wonder and a must-visit for anyone who loves hiking or simply enjoying the outdoors. The walking trails through the gorge are well-maintained and offer incredible views of the rushing stream below. You can feel the power of the water as it cascades through the narrow rock walls, creating a dramatic and refreshing atmosphere. The area around the stream is peaceful and beautifully green, with plenty of spots to stop, take photos, or just admire the scenery. Whether you’re looking for a short, easy walk or a longer hike connecting to nearby trails, Breitachklamm offers a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. Word of caution - Be careful in some of the rocky areas, as the ceilings can be low and it’s easy to bump your head. Good shoes and a bit of caution make the walk much more enjoyable! Tickets cost around €7.50 and can be purchased conveniently at the reception counter or online in advance.

Beautiful river and waterfalls, but… Definitely be aware it’s a super touristy place. If you’re going with a big dog: the paths are very small and there’s people turning around and going back. Also there’s a rather paw unfriendly stair with gauze you have to climb if you follow the red route. 😬 I didn’t really enjoy visiting this place because it was crowded, just too many people constantly, everywhere. The staff at the restaurant at the entrance were friendly and the food was good! Nonetheless, it’s definitely an unique place.

Highly recommend. One of the most beautiful and gorgeous Gorges you will ever see. If you do it when it’s rainy it’s even more majestic. Rain makes the waterfall and experience more magical. 10/10 must do.

Nice gorge to go for a walk. I recommend coming very early since it gets really busy during the day.(Didn't forget to check the opening hours). With the ticket you can walk the gorge in both directions. So you can exit the gorge at the top and continue along the river and come back later to go back to the parking lot. I highly recommend continuing after the gorge and visiting one of the Hintere Engere Alpe (mountain restaurant).

Every nice church. This church has the tallest tower in the world. You can pay 7 Euros and walk all the way to the top. Please ensure that you are semi fit....it is a long and winding staircase of over 750 steps. But the view is worth it. They are currently doing some restorations to the church so please bear with the noise.

Ulm Minster is breathtaking both inside and out. The Gothic architecture is incredibly detailed, and the interior is full of history — especially the 15th-century choir stalls with their intricate wood carvings. The highlight, of course, is climbing the tallest church spire in the world. It’s 768 steps up a narrow staircase, but the panoramic view over the city and, on clear days, even the Alps, makes it worth every step. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and bright, with beautiful stained-glass windows and an impressive organ. The Münsterplatz around the church is also lively, with cafés and markets (the Christmas market here is fantastic). Be prepared: the tower climb is steep and not for everyone, but if you can manage it, it’s unforgettable. Overall, Ulm Minster is one of Germany’s greatest landmarks. Highly recommended!

When I visited, there was some ongoing renovation work, with padding and scaffolding around the front and upper sections, which did slightly spoil the full view of the façade. However, the minor distraction did not take away from the overall experience — once you step inside, the atmosphere completely changes. The city’s noise fades away, replaced by a deep sense of peace and stillness. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a quiet moment of reflection, Ulm Minster is a beautiful and easily accessible place to visit.

You have to distinguish between the creative aspects of the Bregenzer Festspiele and the guest experience. The first is worthy of its reputation, the latter is amateurish. The stage, the singing, the costumes, the location are all beyond criticism. I've been four times and, even as someone with no interest in opera, the performance has always been a rewarding experience. Your enjoyment thereof is however undermined by neglected basics: the lack of toilets is laughable (allow 20 minutes of queueing for the gents); the hard, narrow plastic seats hurt within 45 minutes; the view is always seriously obstructed because the raking is too flat. By far the biggest flaw is the audio: it is quiet and unclear. The warning about phone use is loud and clear, but then the dialog/singing is indiscernible. Most guests are left reading the subtitles, from which random sentences are missing. Comparable outdoor stages better understand that what happens on stage is only part of the experience. So the Bregenzer Festspiele is a worthwhile experience, if you have realistic expectations - this is not simply a pleasurable night at the theater.

I am visiting the festival next once every two years for the last 12 years and have never been disappointed. I would recommend to buy premium tickets that include a seat inside in case of the opera having to be moved due to bad weather. Also arriving early and exploring Bregenz beforehand is a good idea as Bregenz alone is worth a visit.

We visited “The Freischütz” by Carl Maria von Weber, which is considered a key work of the German romantic opera. We can highly recommend it: amazing, very elaborate decorations built on the lake, great music and singing, large cast, lots of special effects and overall an outstanding performance. The story takes place in a rural German village. Max, a young forester, must win a shooting contest to marry Agathe, the daughter of the head forester, Kuno. However, Max has lost his confidence after a series of failures. In desperation, he turns to Kaspar, another forester who has secretly made a pact with dark forces. Kaspar convinces Max to cast "magic bullets" in the haunted Wolf’s Glen at midnight. These bullets are supposed to never miss their target, but the last bullet is controlled by the devil. At the contest, Max fires his final bullet at a target meant for the competition — but the bullet, influenced by evil, instead aims at Agathe. Miraculously, she is saved by a sacred wreath she wears, and Kaspar is struck down instead. In the end, Max confesses his actions. Rather than being punished severely, he is given a year to prove his worth, after which he may marry Agathe. The opera blends elements of folklore, supernatural horror, love, and redemption, and is known for its vivid atmosphere, especially the eerie Wolf’s Glen scene.

A beautiful place and a fantastic venue, I am here most years for the opera and it never fails to enchant me. It's a very special place and a beautiful lake to go with, I would visit every year and every year again. Food is superb, try the local beer Moran, wine is good value and very tasty, you should come to Bregenz and have a fantastic time, 2 to 3 days is perfect. Enjoy

This has been on my bucket list since I found out about an amphitheater on Lake Constanz! It did not disappoint! Performance: We saw "Der Freischütz" (The Marksman) by Carl Maria von Weber. While it was in German, the story was easy to follow, except perhaps the ending, which was unexpected for me. The actors were amazing, especially when working in a stage with water throughout. Staging: The star of the show! A stage built on a lake with a lake on it. Dilapidated buildings illustrate the young Agathe's desperation to go anywhere else. The staging added to the morose nature of the setting. The use of fire and water defines the infernal struggle going on with Max as he tries to win Agathe's hand. Seating: Stage on the lake, seating on the land. It still had an intimate feeling with 7,000 seats. With the slope of the seating, there shouldn't have been a bad sight line. Although it can be a little intimidating for some. Therefore, if you are uncomfortable with height, choose seats in the lower rows. Another tip would be to bring a pad for your seat. Sitting for two or more hours on weather-resistant plastic seats can be uncomfortable. Theater: The theater was nicely laid out. The restrooms are clean. The lobby is well designed with easy access to amenities. The after show bars provided a nice area to discuss the show. It included special drinks for the festival! I was more than satisfied with my visit and enjoyed it immensely!

It is so impressive, had Goosebumps through the entire show, it surprised me in every way. I have been to many operas, this is a total different game. Go, just book it, you will not regret it. Also perfect for a surprise romantic weekend away.

the island is very pretty and has a lot to offer, many different kinds of nature sections and lots of things for kids around/ food places etc but was quite expensive (especially because i didn’t have long to stay which is not an issue of the place) but i could see how it could be kind of worth it as a whole day activity

The island is incredibly beautiful — everything is in bloom and so well maintained! However, we were really disappointed to find out (a bit too late) that the butterfly house has different opening hours from the rest of the park. We arrived just 10 minutes after it closed and sadly missed it. It would be great if the timing was clearer on the map or signs.

Perfect place for nature and flower lovers. Every season has its own color and the blooming plants. Old trees like Tilia over 100 years old. Beautiful views and walking aleys. Next time, I would bring some lunch and enjoy a picnic.

I can bet it is the most beautiful places I have visited. For the tulips, instead of visiting Keukenhof, this is a better place. Surrounded by nature, play gyms for kids, animals where kids can even feed the goats was a holistic experience. We went with our 2months old baby and it was quite smooth. There were ramps everywhere. Accessibility was not a challenge. The tulips were beautiful. There were other flower exhibitions as well indoors. A must visit for everyone!!!!! The connectivity via ships is also very smooth and timely. We went from Meersberg to Mainau.
