The bar/restaurant at the top are therefore also closed. If you want to hike up to the top: we took 2h10 to go up at an (above) average pace and doing some small mistakes/side wandering. To go down we took 1h20. So in total we did 14km, 900+ and took 3h30. Note that the indicative panels indicate 3h30 to go up only. If you follow the main path, it is very clearly marked and very « easy ». It is a well maintained and wide path. The only difficulty is the distance and gradient (7km one way, 1000m d+) but that’s up to your fitness. We started from Aschenau. To sum it up: no cable car. Go by foot. 7km one way. This is a really pretty palace and a great history lesson for people who don’t know much about kind Ludwig II. The palace itself is whacky and lavish and the gardens, fountains, and exterior are beautiful and scenic. The island has some great walking paths and is a fun outing. The boat there and back also has pretty views and runs fairly consistently. Keep in mind that the price of the boat and the palace entrance/tour are a separate price, the palace ticket does give you access to quite a bit though. The only reason it’s a 4 star review is that you can’t take pictures inside the palace which is a little disappointing but not a huge deal. Overall this is a great stop but does take some time.

We took the BRB train from Munich to Tegernsee Lake, which was an easy and comfortable trip that took about an hour. We went just for sightseeing without swimming or taking a boat. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. The lake and mountains create a stunning view that feels relaxing and refreshing. It’s a great place to walk around, sit by the water, and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Even without any activities, it was worth the visit. Small lake and town near to Munich, less than 2 hours by car and also you can get there with train very comfortably, during pandamic all the shops in a small town are close but there are many small local shops for dining and decorative stuffs. But we enjoy sightseeing, hiking, relaxing and we were lucky because it was sunny that day and it helped us to enjoy more. I did the West ridge via ferrata. It was beautiful but cloudy. It's not a particularly challenging ferrata but there is a bit of snow below the forcella della Marmolada and on the ridge. I highly recommend the strudel in Punta penia hut. Keep in mind that it can get quite crowded.

Clouds do sometimes block the view and all we have to do is wait for it to move away. Definitely something for your itinerary.

Amazing place to see especially on a sunny day. We were there with our 7m campervan on a Sunday morning around 9am and there were plenty of parking spaces but got busy rather quickly. You need to pay in the ticket machine before passing through the exit gate. Campers pay 9 eur for 3 hrs which is plenty time to see the sights, get some footage and have a meal as well.

It is a small lake surrounded by pine forests and the Dolomites mountains, offering breathtaking scenery. The water is crystal clear with an emerald-green color, reflecting the mountains and the sky. Easy to reach with no difficult roads. Parking is available at €3 per hour (Oct 2025), and payment must be made in advance at the ticket machine. The area also has convenient facilities such as shops and restaurants, though not very large. Perfect for a short stop to take photos and enjoy a peaceful walk. The atmosphere is calm, cool, and truly romantic.

One way ticket is 8 euros and if you buy the return you need to use it the same day, it cannot be used another day. If you are planning to get the scenic small train from Soprabolzano , make sure to mention this when buying the ticket so they will give you a combined o ne. You can either take the stairs to the 2nd level or the elevator. There is a coffee shop right next to it and a supermarket as well. Once you get on top you will find a bar / icecream shop in the area and a Despar amd Mpreis supermarkets. Very busy usually in the weekends

I have mixed feelings about this cable car. The first part of the experience was bad. There is a pretty long line and the stuffed too many people into one cart. However the view from this cable car is absolutely amazing. It first goes up and the has a long horizontal ride that seems like it was designed just so you can enjoy the view longer. Too bad we had such little personal space to enjoy the view.

The queue for the ride can be really long on a weekend, especially at 12pm. Be patient and dont join the queue. Just go for a lunch first till 1pm and the will be no wait needed to get a ride up. The long and smooth ride offers a great view between bolzano and suprabolzano.

The cable car (Funivia) takes you from Bolzano to Oberbozen (Sopra Bolzano). It's a 25 minute smooth ride with incredible and breathtaking views. The capacity is around 20 people at a time. Very recommended if in Bolzano.

Supranolzano is a magical place and so is this route to it. We had gotten a free Südtirol pass from our Agriturismo hosts and therefore this trip and the train trips were free!

Beautiful garden with a wide variety of botanical riches--from the "trees of the world" area to the amazing and artful viewing platform set high above the garden to the more formal plantings around the big pond and in the sunny hills near the castle. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed every minute.

Absolutely wonderful gardens, walks and fascinating flowers, trees and animals. Certainly worth a visit as the colours are exceptional.

We’ve visited the gardens and the castle in autumn. It was still worth it. You really need a whole day to see everything. It is very big. It is perfect for kids. They have baby goats and small farm animals. Beautiful views. We will come in summer.

We visited the Botanical Gardens of Schloss Trauttmansdorff and highly recommend it. Parking at P3 or P4 is free and just a short 5-minute walk to the entrance. The park is beautifully designed with a wide variety of landscapes and attractions. We started on the left and worked our way through to the right, spending about 2.5 hours in total. There’s a lot to see and experience. Some paths are quite steep, so it might be a bit challenging for older visitors. Overall, a stunning place well worth the visit.

Must see if you are in the area, 3-4 hours is minimum to be able to see all

This place is so awesome I don't even want to write a review about it, it might make it busier in this era of overtourism. But anyway: this garden is too beautiful to be true: the location in the Alps, the hilly terrain of the park, and the variety of plants and flowers and artwork. Usually it's sunny here which really helps. We were here in late October which was perfect. Walking around is not really doable for people who don't walk well. Parking is easy, there's also a bus to the station and it's an easy detour from the Brenner tollway.

Very comfortable to walk down. With this fantastic view, you won’t feel tired.

Amazing entry point into the city! Continue from until the very end then descend down to the center of Merano. The other end of riverside promenade allows the alternative access. The views are stunning, the whole path is so beautiful and there points of water as well as some historic facts here and there.

A lovely walk with great views over Merano, an added bonus is the cafe by the tower at the top of the walk .

That simple round walk is a must when visiting Meran. Great views above the city's roof tops. Nice bars and a restaurant are offering everything for each budget

This is a beautiful path with very pretty panoramic views of the city and mountains.

Fantastic views of the city and surrounding landscape. Vineyards, steeples and mountains can be taken in from the viewing benches. There are also a few restaurants/spots to have a drink along the promenade. The climb up the old fort tower is worth it for the views from the top. It is quite a steep walk up to the promenade - we managed it with a pram but took some pushing!

Wonderful route, easy realxing, the whole family with kids can enjoy the view of merano from a bit higher. The route has a part long the river, very calming. There are small herbs garden to check out on the route as well. There’s also some restaurants along the way and hotels.

The floor with the mummy is awesome. The other floors are okay. As a physiotherapist, I feel it’s important to highlight that some of the information presented about Ötzi’s ailments and pain is factually incorrect—not just technically inaccurate but clearly and potentially harmfully wrong. Specifically, the exhibit makes claims about osteoarthritis and other health conditions that go beyond what the evidence supports. It is not scientifically valid to infer pain based solely on imaging findings of “degenerative” changes or age-related adaptations. These types of findings are extremely common in healthy people—many of whom experience no pain at all. Presenting such changes as definitive sources of pain reinforces outdated and misleading beliefs about the human body. This can contribute to fear, over-medicalization, and unnecessary treatments in the general public, especially among people who already live with chronic pain or worry about their health. Aside from the clearly documented issues—such as the arrow wound in his shoulder, the broken arm, and dental problems—any additional claims about Ötzi’s experience of pain are speculative at best and should be labeled as such. Personally, I think those parts of the exhibit should be changed. I included some photos of the problematic texts.

Great museum, mainly dedicated to the story (and viewing) of Ötzi, the iceman. Recommendation when you are in the area. Also some interesting items on living situations in that time and how to craft for example. We didn’t have a ticket in advance and so had to wait outside. It was annoying that the lady at the front couldn’t tell us how long the queue would be, luckily it was only a bit more than 20 minutes. We visited on a tuesday afternoon mid September. Recommended to buy beforehand! Inside there are also many school groups next to the general visitors so it is not calm or quiet.

An interesting museum dedicated to literally just one mummy. After viewing the exhibit, you realize how much information can be gleaned from such a find. My seven-year-old daughter was a bit scared; perhaps it's too early to see such exhibits. Tickets are inexpensive, but there's no parking. The restrooms are clean and comfortable. A significant amount of money has been invested in the museum; I recommend visiting.

Awesome museum! I have been interested in Otzi since he was pulled out of the ice, so when I was nearby I made sure to make a detour to Bolzano and the museum. You’re not allowed to take photos of Otzi himself as he is being preserved for research purposes. The images below show what they think Otzi would have looked like. One thing I found most interesting, (other than his acupuncture tattoos of course!) was his height - only 5 feet 3 inches. I had expected him to be taller, possibly because of my own biases, but possibly also owing to the nature of his life - mountain climbing and hunting while alone. Regardless, he was obviously a seriously brave guy. The museum dedicated to him is definitely worth a visit.

So cool ! The museum is located in the middle of town. Parking was a challenge , we used the parkhouse , while it’s 4.50€ per hour, it worked out well. The museum is set up in 3 floors , easy to follow as everything is numbered. What an amazing valuable find, so interesting . This exhibit really helps you understand the life of this man .

The exhibition was well executed. I learned a lot about this discovery and its ongoing preservation and research. Well worth a visit

Excellent hike along a path hewn in to the Cliffside of the gorge to the Sanctuary. (You can also drive to the sanctuary) We parked in Sanzeno (free parking in field near the piazza), initially walking a small road, then track through orchards to a path in the cliff. It’s flat, lots of fun and quite low (watch your head - there are signs saying you need a helmet but no one wore one). There are 160 steps up to the sanctuary itself - well worth it. There and back it’s a 6.5 mile (around 9km) walk.

Beautiful nature to see, impressive architecture. The sanctuary it self, as to be expected, pretty austere. Didn't enjoy seeing the caged bear doing circles cause its clearly depressed.

the path to the eremo itself is beautiful (photo of it below). its litterally carved iside a natural canion. the eremo itself is outstanding. the personal is helpful and prepared. plus it has a giant friendly bear and lots of doggos. a lot of panoramic wiews too. finally if you are into walking in the woods these place is right for you.

We hiked here from San Zeno along the path carved out of the mountainside (watch your head!). There are some short climbs, but it’s doable in less than an hour each way and the vistas over the valley are beautiful. There are some spots where you do need to pay attention, but it’s fairly well marked. While you’ll see fully kitted out hikers, there are also plenty of families and elderly people just taking a walk with regular clothes and shoes. The sanctuary is very peaceful and their resident bear even came out to greet us.

Lovely walk very fun from museum

You cannot access the sanctuary with a car during summer months but there is a shuttle bus to and from it (from Sanzeno), costing 2 EUR one way or 3 EUR both directions. You could also park your car at Museo Retico (paying parking lot) and go on foot which is more than worth it. The path is not too challenging and it takes less than an hour. We went to the sanctuary on foot and took the bus back. The sanctuary itself is worth the visit but there's not much to do more than 30 minutes or so...

Incredible shrine sitting on top of the hill. The shrine hosts a lovely bear which has become an attraction per se. The car entrance is in Sanzeno, while the shrine is accessible by several walks. One of the walk starts from Coredo, providing a majestic park close to an artificial lake. From there the shrine is reachable by foot in 1h (2/3)km. The path is a bit steep at some point.

I tried to visit this military shrine dedicated to the soldiers who died in this area during the First World War. Unfortunately, the shrine is currently closed for renovation, and it seems it has been closed for quite some time. From the outside, however, the shrine looks truly impressive.

Sacrario Militare di Asiago – Ossario del Leiten 🇮🇹 For those who appreciate history and quiet reflection, the Sacrario del Leiten in Asiago is a place of deep emotional impact. Located on Leiten Hill at 1,058 meters above sea level, it overlooks the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities with striking majesty. Designed by architect Orfeo Rossato between 1932 and 1936, it was inaugurated in 1938 as a monumental ossuary to hold the remains of over 54,000 Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers who died in World War I. The structure consists of two main levels: a square crypt (80 meters per side) with wide corridors leading to an octagonal chapel, and above it, a towering triumphal arch with four fronts, standing 47 meters tall. A grand staircase flanked by symmetrical ramps leads visitors to the top, where engraved arrows point toward the surrounding mountains and former battle sites—a stone memorial that powerfully links landscape, memory, and history. Inside, silence is broken only by the engraved names of fallen soldiers—both identified and unknown—including twelve awarded the Gold Medal of Military Valor. Their memory is preserved with solemn dignity. Recently restored, the site is once again open to the public (Tuesday to Sunday, 9 AM–12 PM and 2 PM–5 PM), now featuring an educational exhibit with artifacts and informative panels about the Great War. A powerful and moving place that combines monumental architecture, solemn landscapes, and a deeply reflective atmosphere. Ideal for those seeking a moment of remembrance, beauty, and historical significance.

Unfortunately closed for renovations but nothing had been updated online so a wasted journey. I would suggest any other potential visitors call before visiting.

The Sacrario Militare di Asiago sits heavy against the soft landscape of the Altopiano, its stark presence unmistakable from a distance. Walking the long, tree-lined approach felt almost ceremonial. an intentional stretch of silence before entering the crypt. Inside, the light is low, the marble cool, and the atmosphere reverent. Thousands of names line the walls in endless corridors, a sobering reminder of the brutal scale of World War I on this front. It’s not a place of grand gestures or theatrical design, but of weight and stillness. The weathering on the ceiling only adds to the gravity, a quiet surrender to time. Standing in that vast hall of sacrifice, it’s impossible not to reflect. This isn’t just a monument, it’s a statement, and one that lingers with you long after you’ve left the hill.

Amazing thoughtful place. It offers peace and amazing views with walks in the nature around the monument.

The castle is beautiful but the real star is the garden with its magnificent views. Took down one star because we wasted an hour waiting for parking and it messed up our plans for the day.

Well worth visiting - interesting castle and pretty gardens. Paid parking (4 euro - but wouldn’t accept credit cards), 250m walk from parking uphill to castle. We spent 2 hours there and would recommend a visit

An absolutely wonderful experience at Castello Thun! The location itself is stunning, overlooking the green valleys of Trentino, and the castle is very well maintained. The rooms, furniture, and collections give a real sense of history, yet it feels welcoming and not overwhelming. Walking through the halls and gardens is like stepping back in time. Highlights for me were the fascinating room full of horse carriages, the unique old kitchen, and the beautiful artwork throughout the castle. I also loved learning that Napoleon once stayed here—such an interesting fact! Outside, there’s a nice cafeteria where you can relax after your visit, and a little museum shop with lovely items to take home. The staff are very polite, kind, and helpful, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in history, culture, or simply beautiful views.

Amazing castle with a nice little cantine.

Awesome castle built high up on the ridge providing panoramic views of the valley below. Interior is furnished with gorgeous empire style furniture. Worth the time to travel there. Bring some vino and food as it is a good place to picnic afterwards.

Been there in February 2020. Amazing place, in a stunning location. The castle itself is perfectly maintained and the guided tour is very interesting. The audio guide is recommended but not mandatory: there is a lot to see and to learn, since the place has a very rich and long history. Nice and friendly personnel. Only one remark: if you go during winter or in the beginning of spring, be sure to wear a jacket, as in the rooms it gets really cold. Anyway, definitely recommended.

Very nice castel to visit. DOGS NOT ALLOWED unless kept in a transport bag on your body. One star less for the poor organization of shuttle bus that doesn't bring you at the entrance rather leave you at P1 where then you have to climb for a long while

A trip to a magical world of gnomes... We absolutely loved it! A very special place, so much to entertain the children. The outside play park was great for my 2 young girls ,as well as the indoor playroom, that had an amazing view over the woodland. The bedrooms were wonderful, i reccommend booking the superior room, very spacious and great bathroom. Even my mother's bedroom, although small, had a large balcony, with a fantastic view. Fridge and kettle in the rooms were very welcome. Owners of the hotel and all staff very friendly and helpful. And the magical gnome walk? Well you will just have to go and discover it for yourselves. I highly reccommend it. My children are already asking to go back. We left feeling rejuvenated and relaxed and a bit sad to leave this fairytale behind.

We had a wonderful time at #VillaggioDegliGnomi! First and foremost, I need to mention the trail. The most comfortable and beautifully manicured trail I've had privilege to set foot upon! I had no concerns letting my kids run full speed downhill, because I knew their footing was sure and the fall would be into soft golf course type grass! As well I would gladly pay to run this loop 10 times! The playground was wonderful, and though there were plenty of other guests, we had no problem finding a table where we ate the picnic we had brought(you can also get food at the bar). There were slides and swings a volleyball ball court and basketball hoop, as well as 2 giant inflatable bouncy houses. There is also a 5 year old friendly race track that costs a 1 Euro token, but it is way more generous than the rides at the mall! The gnome village was wonderful! It is small, but as you would expect... after all, they are gnomes. Not to spoil the fun, but the gnome houses are interactive for the kids, and your kid can talk with them, see them, and maybe even get a sweet straight from the gnomes house should they say the magic word! The loop has a nice fitness circuit with various exercise equipment at stops through out the trail. Last but not least, the park is integrating a Pokemon go type app to benefit the park experience. Very cool from what I've seen, but it wasn't 100% integrated quite yet.

Such a lovely place, good for a holiday. Lots of activities for kids too. The Gnome Village is not to be missed, but I visited in winter so no luck. Daniela & Alvise are excellent hosts, smiling & helpful. The rooms are clean & food is good too. Would love to visit again.

The playground and gnomes are so fun. It's definitely worth the trip! Hotel staff are kind and try to communicate in English.

This hotel has hidden fees everywhere! Be aware! They mislead you about prices and timing and the charge outrageous amount for things that are normally included into the price!

Very good for little children, beautiful to stay outside and drink something

The waterfall located in the heart of a lush forest is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable and peaceful places you can visit. The soothing sound of the nearby stream, the chirping of the birds, and the fresh breeze that blows through the trees create an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. This place makes visiting the forest feel like a true escape to a peaceful paradise.

Nice places for hiking! Round course is up to 3 hours. If you want to use the busses there have a look for the timetable online. You can safe 1 hour with busses if you want. Trail is medium. Not recommend if it rains.

The walk up to the falls took us about 40 minutes from car park. It is mostly easy hike/trail.

Beautiful country side and waterfall worth a visit. Its quite a walk and even though today was hot (36° c) it was nice and fresh/chilly close to the falls.

I hiked via Malga Arza and Malga Termoncello to get here which was a difficult hike to and from and a long way. But the lake was worth the hike. Beautiful colour and view.

The Lago is stunning and so worth visiting. It’s accessed along a 14 km road with a pay-booth at the head of the valley. There’s plenty of parking near the lake plus clean toilets. With many photo stops and a picnic, it took us 2.5 hours to walk around the lake on the well-defined path - you could halve the time without the stops. Check the lake is open (we were told our visit on 14/9/25 was the last day it was open)

Lake Tovel is a hidden gem nestled in the stunning Dolomites. The emerald green waters are just breathtaking, and the surroundings are nothing short of magical. We spent a pleasant hour walking around the lake, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and taking in the scenery. The temperature was perfect for a relaxing stroll, and the only downside was the rather high parking fee of €18 in the summer. Even so, Tovel Lake is a must for nature lovers and those looking for a quiet getaway.

Beautiful lake that you can walk around. The road to access is closed for season but if you’re lucky you might find it open depending on the weather conditions as we did. So much worth the visit.

Amazing lake green water and beautiful views of the Dolomites. The perimeter is 3.5km long, perfect for hiking. It's better to book the parking online. If you don't book online, you can park in one of the 5/6 parking lots before the lake and go by bus. 6€ for the parking, 3 for the bus.

Nice castle to visit. They have restored many items in museum style to watch. Beautiful rooms, paintings, wall and ceiling paintings. We had to wait in a long row to buy tickets. It’s probably worth it to buy your tickets online.

So cool — I love the paintings on exhibit, the architecture, the general feeling of being in a well preserved castle. We highly recommend visiting if you are passing through!

This Castello, which also features an attached palazzo, punches way above its weight. The museum features a rich and detailed history with many artifacts spanning the 10,000 years of civilization around the greater Trentino region. The museum also offers an interesting lesson of the incredibly complex political history of this pivotal region. The castle and later – built palazzo are far more extensive than I realized, and include an eventual climb to the top of the palazzo that commands sweeping views of Trento and its stunning valley. The beautiful gardens around the fortress are an added bonus!

A must see when in Trento! There are so many corners and hidden gems all along the castle! Staff is friendly and helpful. Don't miss the garden/courtyard in the back of the palace. At some points it felt a bit like Hogwarts :)

Pretty good. You can spend here few hours. If you have Trentino Card, you can have discounted entry ticket (for adult) 7 euros.

Nice castle with an exposition about local art from the area. There was also an exposition from a local artist from the 18th century which was quite nice and very comprehensive. The layout of the castle and the expositions is a little confusing as is the location of the entrance. At the top of the castle there is a really nice view of the whole city and the surrounding valley.

The most renowned monument in Trento. With more than a 1000 years' history, a spectacular painting cycle in the Aquila's tower and numerous events and exibits during the year, is an absolute must during your stay in Trento !

The exterior looks promising but the interior and amount of content is fairly limited. In comparison the much older natural science museum in Bergamo is much more interesting and holds much more specimens. That’s being said, it’s still a good option for a rainy day.

Great place for kids, and adults too. 5 stories of natural/tech entertainment with plenty of interactive activities. You can easily spend 3h there. Booking in advance highly recommended, especially on peak season. Tickets are timeslotted, with entries every 30 mins or so. Tickets is pretty cheap and with family packages options.

Beautiful museum with lots of possibilities to learn about interconnection of nature and animals as well as impacts of day to day behavior on our ecosystem. Ohr kids loved the self-experience area on second floor

Great museum for kids. Our 5yo boy was impressed by dinosaurs and interactive stands. 2 hours was enough.

An excellent, medium-sized museum with a rich and diverse exhibition. It's sensibly arranged so you can explore it according to your needs—some sections in detail, others just for a quick glance. A lot about natural history and a bit about the human impact on it. Interesting for both adults and children, even for easily bored teenagers—proven! Many interactive elements will delight young visitors. And the building itself - a piece od excellent architekture by Renzo Piano, worth seeing!

This is the most wonderful science museum I’ve ever visited. It has 5 floors of exhibitions and the last one is a terrace with great view. There is even a greenhouse with tropical plants, live birds, butterflies, fishes. There are a lot of activities for children, so they can learn, play and have fun in a museum. I love the whole idea and how it was executed. I highly recommend this museum both for children and adults.

What a refreshingly beautiful waterfall! Nice forest protected areas with bear habitat.

Only 2 kilometers, around 20 - 25 minutes from the parking. Nice hiking trails. Easy level. You can go further if you want to. Restaurant nearby is probably open only in summer. Some renovation of the trails right now. Completely empty mid-March.

Great place. If you on you motorcycle there is very nice road to go up to the very end of the path! 5€ FOR A BIKE! 15 km long next to river with lots of waterfals.

Since there had been plenty of rain, the Cascate was roaring like a freight train. Absolutely stunning.

It's a great place for a two hours to half day trip. At the entrance, we were charged 9 Euros for entering the second parking lot ( 7 Euros for the first parking lot)

Absolutley stunning and peaceful place to visit! Worth the drive if you are staying around Lake Garda. If you arrive after 5 pm it’s free to enter the park.

Great walks, beautiful views. There are options to make short or longer treks in the area, you are not allowed to swim. Nice place for pick nick with the family

Large castle, nicely furnished and decorated in a few choice rooms. Really cool to be able climb to the top of the tower and have that view out over Soave and an expansive view over the valley. Bring your camera! Without a tour and hour or so is probably sufficient to wander the grounds unless you just want to hang out. Certainly worth getting inside the castle.

Stunning views of the surrounding villages. Very friendly staff members. Small enough for us to walk through it and feel like we saw everything in about an hour. Would recommend the visit and visiting the village below.

Cutest little town. We had a lovely afternoon here with our kids after lunch at i tigli. Soave is picture perfect, straight out of a storybook. The kids loved the train ride up to the castle and back, we ate amazing gelato and granita and strolled the streets. We of course grabbed a bottle of wine to take home with us. Highly recommend to visit.

A beautiful castle that’s worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood. It’s a good walk to reach the top.

Spectacular and unmissable. 10th century castle overlooking Soave and surrounding vineyards. Access is on a steep and pebbly path. Well preserved living quarters and knights armour are noteworthy.

Ancient castle from medieval age. We got a leaflet at the entrance that explained what you saw. Not so easy to follow but use Google as a complement! 👌

Beautiful castle - gives a great perspective of the city. We went in at noon after the break and were 2/6 people there the entire time. It felt like we had the castle to ourselves. Highly recommend. Just be aware of the lunch break.

Despite what many believe, Juliet was not a real historical person. This house once belonged to the Cappello family — a name that inspired Shakespeare’s “Capulet.” The famous balcony was added centuries later to recreate the feeling of the legendary love story of Romeo and Juliet. Still, the place has an undeniable charm. Visitors come from all over the world to leave love notes, touch Juliet’s statue for luck, and feel the spirit of romance that Verona is famous for. A must-see, even if the story is a beautiful myth. ❤️

If you are a fan of the immortal story of two lovers, then you must visit Juliet's house. The house is constantly besieged by tourists, so think carefully about when you want to visit (preferably in the morning). I personally like the collection of artworks in the house, and the original wall paintings are also impressive. I recommend that everyone who visits the house also visit Romeo's home. It is completely overlooked, and only rarely do tourists stop at the memorial plaque on the site where his home once stood.

Still, this place has sadly lost some of its romance. The inner courtyard is flooded with crowds – noise, long lines to touch Juliet’s statue, and cameras flashing from every direction. There’s little real romance left; it feels more like a tourist ritual than a place of love. The museum is interesting to visit, with Juliet’s statue and a few authentic details, but you’ll feel the true spirit of Verona much more while wandering through its charming streets than standing amidst the crowds.

Casa di Giulietta in Verona is a romantic landmark linked to Shakespeare’s Juliet. The 13th-century house features a charming balcony said to inspire the famous scene from _Romeo and Juliet_. Visitors leave love notes on its walls, making it a symbol of timeless passion and literary enchantment. By the way it is very crowded.

Paying the ticket to see the house is much better than the experience outside. Even in low season was completely crowded to the point that the statue looked even nervous herself. There is the same statue inside the house with no crowd, and from the house you can take a picture from the balcony. Staff is kind of rude

This was a tourist trap. The balcony is way small and only 2 persons can fit. We did not visit the inside of the house because of the reviews on Google saying that it was nothing special. The yard was ok and we got to take pictures of the statue of Juliete and the wall of letters. There was a shop nearby that could costumise everything you wanted to by that was nice. The store inside the house has only overpriced magnets and pens for tourists.

Wow every romantic person women ,man or couple need to visit this place and even if you not into romantic things definitely take your partner there is famous balcony spirit is still there for 2 people who love eachother but can't be toghtether is nice fairy tale and you need to be part of it, try get there in the morning when is less busy and dont forget Mark pen to write down something on wall

Once a Roman forum, today it’s full of market stalls 🛍️ selling souvenirs, fruits, and local goods. The square is always bustling 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ with both locals and tourists, giving it a lively atmosphere day and night. A great place to sit with a drink 🍹, people-watch, and soak in the heart of Verona’s old town. 🙌

Great Piazza. Market stalls most days with plenty to choose from. Restaurants along one side so great if thirsty or hungry. Historic buildings all around. Well worth the visit

Piazza delle Erbe is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric squares in all of Italy. Surrounded by elegant palaces, medieval towers, and richly decorated façades, it feels like stepping back in time. The square has been the beating heart of Verona since the Roman era, once serving as the city’s forum, and today it still pulses with life from morning to night. The architecture is breathtaking — from the frescoed façades of the Mazzanti Houses to the Baroque Palazzo Maffei with its statues of classical gods. Every corner seems to tell a story of centuries gone by, blending Roman, medieval, and Renaissance influences seamlessly. That said, it is incredibly crowded, especially during peak hours. Tour groups, market stalls, and cafés all compete for space, so be prepared for a lively (and sometimes overwhelming) atmosphere. Still, even with the crowds, the energy of the square only adds to its charm. If you’re visiting Verona, Piazza delle Erbe is absolutely unmissable. Come early in the morning or later in the evening if you want a quieter experience, but at any time of day, it’s a stunning place to soak in history, architecture, and authentic Italian life.

I truly enjoyed strolling through Piazza delle Erbe, Verona’s oldest square. It’s a vibrant blend of history and daily life—once a Roman forum, now surrounded by medieval buildings, frescoed facades, and lively cafés. The square hosts bustling markets and iconic monuments like the Colonna di San Marco and Fontana di Madonna Verona. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was a real pleasure to take in all the beautiful historic architecture.

Piazza delle Erbe is a truly beautiful square. It's lined with a row of stunning buildings, with the most magnificent of all—Palazzo Maffei—standing proudly at one end. In the center, you'll find the impressive Madonna Fountain of Verona and a bustling bazaar full of life. The edges of the square are dotted with charming-looking restaurants, shops and cafés. We didn’t eat there ourselves, though, as the square was quite crowded with fellow tourists. That said, we did find a few quieter corners along the edges, perfect for sitting back and watching people pass by—it was quite entertaining!

A beautiful square that feels big but still quite cozy. In my opinion, it’s definitely more interesting than the large one by the Arena. From here you’ve got direct access to Juliet’s house, plus plenty of nice restaurants, narrow streets, and cafés all around. The atmosphere is fantastic – you could wander here all day.

Unassuming plaza with statues and fountains surrounded by beautiful buildings from times gone past. Several street cafes offering food and drink at reasonable prices. A great place for people watching and soaking up the atmosphere re.

The Castelvecchio Museum is an absolute must-see in Verona. Housed in a medieval fortress built in the 14th century, the museum is filled with incredible 15th and 16th century paintings, sculptures, and artifacts. Walking through the halls feels like stepping back in time, with masterpieces from artists such as Pisanello and Veronese on display. The architecture of the castle itself is just as impressive as the collection, especially the views from the bridge over the Adige River. We loved our visit, but be prepared, the castle is massive and requires a lot of walking. It’s a place where history, art, and atmosphere come together beautifully, and truly one of the highlights of Verona.

Be sure to visit if you are in Verona! 💯 percent recommended! The castle was simply amazing. The castle is perfectly lit at night, so it makes for very beautiful photos. There are a lot of interesting exhibits. The ticket is free with the Verona guest card. The castle is still being renovated, but it is safe to walk everywhere. Thank you for the great impressions.

Great museum with great art and statues. Goes throughout the whole castle, even giving a great view from the rafters. Don't recommend being scared of heights as one in our group. Very worth the cheap entry fee for the amount of stuff that's at display.

The museum is housed in a 14th century castle that was built by Cangrande II della Scala who was the ruling lord of Verona. You wonder through galleries with endless religious paintings and sculptures. At the same time you can see the castle inside and out. From the ramparts you have a nice view over the river and the red-brick bridge that crosses the Adige river.

The castle is powerful and compact in its size with very little decoration — one square compound built in red bricks, one of the most prominent examples of Gothic architecture of the age, with imposing M-shaped merlons running along the castle and bridge walls. It has seven towers, a superelevated keep (maschio) with four main buildings inside. The castle is surrounded by a ditch, now dry, which was once filled with waters from the nearby Adige. Castelvecchio is now home to the Castelvecchio Museum and the local officer's club which can be accessed through the left door on Corso Cavour 🇮🇹 verona

Interesting stuff in the museum - lots of variety, and plenty to see. The directions inside were not especially clear - the temporary exhibition was not super easy to find. Note that you don’t have to pay for the museum to go on the bridge! Most of the staff very friendly, aside from just one woman in the shop. Horrendous toilet - just a hole in the ground!

Medieval fortress with moat. Probably the best value attraction in Verona, beautifully restored. We spent 3hrs here, exploring the countless corridors and halls. You can also access the battlements and part of the tower. Which has beautiful views of the river and city. There are numerous pieces of veronian artwork including paintings and sculptures. With also a large collection of medieval items of warfare and everyday items. All very interesting with a rich historical significance. A must on your visit, whether your here for a week or just a few days. Enjoy!
