There are five golden domes on top of the Cathedral. A main dome is surrounded by four smaller domes. The front view of the cathedral gives a great view of the bell tower, with it's twelve bells. The other domes may be found on the bell tower, and at the rear of the building. The rear view, from the Park next to the cathedral, gives a better view of the golden domes. The Cathedral was designed by A. Krylov, and construction which was started in the 1990's was halted due to lack of funds. It was restarted in 1999, and finished in the early 2000's. The most impressive piece of furniture that we saw, was a table with two silver double headed eagles which was used to hold candles for sale.The Park next to the church was beautifully maintained and had sculptures of an Angel and Peter & Fevronia monument. It also had a lake and many "love" trees with locks attached. The Lora statue is at a round-a-bout a short drive away on Druzhby Narodov Street.

There was a number of locals selling stuff outside the entrance in the wall but fortunately they weren’t bothersome at all so don’t let it put you off. Once within the walls there’s a real sense of calm. There’s plenty of benches to sit and a nice walk around the grounds. There’s some other old buildings next to the main cathedral and a small ‘orchard’ which is pleasant in the sun. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to venture inside the main cathedral but despite that it was well worth checking out and it’s no wonder that it’s one of the cities main sights.

The blue walls and golden domes of the exterior are very picturesque. The interior is quite impressive as well, and it is interesting to compare the fresh paintings here with the much older paintings in the nearby St Sophia’s.

Really lovely place to visit. It is free to walk around, however if you want a guided tour or to find out more info there are additional charges to pay for these things. There are plenty of spaces and benches to sit and relax and reflect in these beautiful surroundings. There is a note that states no photography, however everyone there were taking pictures and nobody was approached to stop.

I am always amazed every time i visit here. The gold dome is amazing and very impressive, you will see the irony of grace and power. Inside the compound there's an olf church that was preserved too, like the old structure. Located in the nearby tourists spots, and churches as well. Souvenir shops around, but a bit expensive.

The Motherland Monument in Kiev is a monumental sculpture that is the central object of the memorial complex of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. Amazing museum. Loved everything, history, people! It wasn't busy due to the weather, but lady guide there was so nice and walked me through, telling stories of the people. Just loved it. One of the key experiences visiting Ukraine!

Very cool place. Very somber. The museum and monument are done perfectly, impeccable, lots of extremely interesting facts and items from WW2, all the way up to the conflict in Crimea. This is definitely a worthwhile stop. You must go to the top of the monument!

The most amazing place in Kiev. It's a must visit destination in a traveller's list if he's visiting Kiev. The place is very well built and it displays all the war materials used in World Wars, it's just amazing and can only be felt not described. It has many more nearby tourist places which can be visited by walk or by bus.

This museum could be called the house of Europe's "Statue of Liberty". A huge and beautiful statue locates the entry of the museum. At the entry you could think it's not as big as it really is. It covers all of Kiev struggle during WWII with a lot of objects from that era. When I was there the balcony was closed so I couldn't get to see the statue at the bottom, but it was definitely worth it, and the last room with the fotos and the objects of the fallen during the war makes a real impact in you. Despite this the museum shows is age and everything it's in ukranian. So it's not that prepared to welcome tourists, although it's a must in Kyiv.

Huge (23rd tallest statue in the world) monument overlooking Kiev. Great views across the city from the area. It's part of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. I didn't visit the museum itself, was short on time, but there are plenty of exhibits to see outside which you don't have to pay to see. Also some big statues at the base and a tank painted in the Ukrainian national colours.

I love these paved/cobbled walkways in Kyiv, which has various hills. So reminiscent of other cities in Central Europe. This one reminded me of Prague! 🇺🇦 🇨🇿

This is one of the fairy places in Kyiv. There are so many stories, legends, and just unbelievable stories. You can still cath the spirit of art freedom and fall in some adventurous here. Just find the right people or good guide to visit this place if you're first time in Kyiv.

Very cool park, though kind of scary at first for small kids. The teapot slide is very neat and definitely not something you could find elsewhere. If you have kids it is a fun place to spend an hour.

This place is weird for children but sort of what you'd expect someone who does light drugs to really enjoy. It's a bit creepy but also very fun. The outdated items and the dirt on them add to the charm. The surrounding parks are really beautiful here, however. Worth 60 minutes to see the sculpture part and walk some of the park nearby.

I travel a lot so I've seen many beautiful cathedrals. But still St. Sofia impressed me to the bottom of my heart. Amazing antient place with gorgeous wall-paintings.

Tramendous historical place to visit, built in the 11th century. Several buildings with excibitions and fresco on the religious topics. What an historic and sacred place... one of the greatest historical monuments in the word .. the inside of the church is restored and protected as hundreds if years ago .. also the remains of tomb of the king and all other things and the bell and museum and bread factory and all are very interesting

I used to go here back in 2016 when I lived in Kiev. Greta spot it take a date or watch a performance with the family. Beautiful building with very cheap prices for westerners. Used to get balcony good seats for 10-15$ Must see for any visitor in Kiev or Ukraine

Superb opera house located in the heart of the city. I saw 2 shows here. Beautiful performances. Deane lake bake was the best. Elegantly decorated inside the hall, nice stage and soothing music. Prices for seats are different. People love opera and bale, just they are crazy for it.

I saw an amazing performance: the ballet "Chasing After two Hares"/"За Двома Зайцями." It was every bit as good as anything you'd see in New York or London, and GOOD seats were only 500 grivna each (around $15). And the venue itself is great. I highly recommend going to a performance there.

Lovely building bought cheap ticket in the top balcony around £4 pounds just to get into the building and see from inside also ballet as well but expected that from 4th floor maybe won't see anything but actually view was not bad at all, would highly recommend.

I always love such places. here you can even feel part of the history of Ukraine. A place almost untouched by modern civilization. The interior, the materials used, it's all something real! To the right of the theater there was even still stay a road along which carriages used to go to performances. Slava Ukraini.

Fantastic performances in a beautiful historic concert hall. The ticket prices were more than reasonable. There were performances scheduled for every night. The acoustics of the concert hall were very good. The sets, the orchestra, the performers, the costumes were all excellent. Any visit to Kiev should include a night at the Opera.

There are many Ziplines for every level from small children to adults. They have gazebos and raised platforms for family picnics or gathering.

Kid (9 years old) was very happy to try 3 different tree tracks on his own. Nicely prepared for all ages.

New clean and nice place. There are a lot of original wooden sculptures of animals and fairy tale characters. There are a lot of high and straight pine trees. Fitted with a pair items of gym equipment and a rather big children's playground. Good for a short walk.

Feels like you go back in time. I haven’t been to this place for many years since I was a kid and now visiting with my international husband it was very special feeling. I get to show him my Ukrainian culture and he get to know more about Ukraine and people. It was very beautiful experience especially during the war… make you value all of it more. Also we had food there and home made “moon shine” so tasty!

Well worth the visit! You get to see how people used to live hundreds of years ago. This is open air museum is a collection of authentic houses and churches from all over Ukraine. They were dismantled and reconstructed in this historical park. Some houses are more then 200 years old. I’ll of the houses are original (not reconstructions). Most of the are open and decorated with authentic household items. It’s very interesting to see what people were using during their daily life back then. Churches are still used today for service and during holidays. When you’ll get hungry you’ll find plenty of great authentic food on the premises. It will take you several hours to see the whole park, so schedule at least ½ day. You can also rent bicycles and get to places faster. In fact many locals come here just to ride their bikes. It is a great retreat from city life. Even though the park is in the city, you’ll feel like you are in a village.

Beautiful place filled with magic. Incredible to visit each season of the year. Peaceful nature, old houses, full of pagan culture and old signs. Great for photos, meditation or just having fun with the friends. Great price for the tickets. Location is not that easy to reach, but totally worth it. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful park and area just out of the center of Kiev. Worth a visit if you have more time and like such remote, historic and different locations, the day was really warm and sunny and this really made the experience very memorable. Little orthodox churches are simple outside, but so beautiful inside. The smell of wood very unique. Make your day a bit different and come here, plenty to see, area is really big, good location to take some beautiful pictures as well.

You can spend about 3 hrs walking around here and the structures are beautiful.In one section there are later architectures in brick all representing different regions of Ukraine. Plenty of space to lay down a blanket and picnic or snooze. Plenty of shops for food and souvenirs for the tourist.

It's obvious that this place could use some work but even with that it deserves 5 stars. Great overview of the traditional Ukrainian huts. When I visited not all the huts were open, which was a good thing because I was able to see a little bit of everything. Be prepared for a lot of walking.

It is truly an amazing place. There are so many exhibits of almost all kinds of colonies of Ukraine. The Carpathian regions, the Dnieper regions etc. One should have ample amount of time to roam about the area. At least 3-5 hours are required to explore this place. My recommendation will be to rent a bicycle to have the best experience. There is a nice place to have food inside the territory as well.

Swimming is quite ok in the pool. The showers lacks of place to put your things (i.e. dry clothes).The restaurant has much to learn. The menu should say what they can serve, not what might be available.

I've had a problem with the door man wich he did not let me inside assuming that the place is full, he told me to wait for a place, only a few minutes later he lets other people in. i asked to speak with his supervisor but he ignored me. I spoke with them on the phone and they also ignored me. The problem is that im not ukrainian and he thougt it ok for him to do so. I think what they trying to say is this place is for ukrainian people only, so i suggest if you'r not ukrainian DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

However, it seems that owners forgot about maintainance: new buildings are built, while old ones are falling apart. It is a place worth visiting during weekend, as we happened to come there on Tuesday and everything was closed. The territory itself was open and we still had to pay the entrance fee (100uah), but there was absolutely nothing working - no food, no costumes, no bar, not even a place to buy water! It made us very unhappy, since the place is in the middle of nowhere...

Great idea, good service. Big minus is using of Russia language and Russian music, which had nothing in common with Kyiv Rus. Owners, please, take true history and people will come to you!
