(Translated by Google) The Church of Michael and Fyodor is the only temple in Ukraine consecrated in honor of Prince Mikhail of Chernigov and his boyar Fyodor. Belongs to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The temple was built in 1806. Consecrated in 1808. Since then, the Church of Michael and Fyodor has been rebuilt several times and changed its appearance accordingly. At first it was built in the style of classicism with baroque elements. In the second half of the 19th century, as a result of reconstruction, the church received a Byzantine appearance. During the Soviet period, the temple was closed. The building was returned to the church in the late 1990s. In 2008, a new, very beautiful iconostasis in golden-white colors was created for the temple.

Church of the Ukrainian Patriarchate, Father Ilya prayed in Ukrainian, a very charismatic priest, everyone liked him. The ceremony was also well done. The baptismal room was small, but it was very warm. There were only godmothers, parents and brother, grandparents could have fit in and that’s all, but I didn’t want to invite guests to the sacrament of baptism. My husband also liked the fact that there are no tariff obligations, they said that as much as possible, you will deposit that much into the cash register.

Spaso-Preobrazhensʹkyy Sobor Khi St.

Sights & Landmarks
The Transfiguration Cathedral in Ukraine is a stunning example of ancient Kievan Rus architecture combined with Ukrainian Baroque. It is the oldest cathedral in the country, dating back to pre-Mongolian times and was built by order of the first Chernihiv Prince. The cathedral is one of six monuments from the pre-Mongol era in Chernigov and has survived for over 10 centuries.
The most older building of Kyiv Rus, than is saved for our days!
Ihor P — Google review
The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, located here in Abakan, Russian Siberia, is certainly a do-not-miss attraction IF you have any interest at all in the Russian Orthodox Church. I visited in December and it was in the minus 20°F temperature range. The Cathedral was not open so I was not able to enter. To the East of the Cathedral is the very large Preobrazhensky Park. After photographing the Cathedral I walked into the park and explored its various monuments and sights. En route back to my automobile, I happened upon the Monument to St. Peter and Fevronia and was happy that I saw, and later read about, this monument. The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral is a beautiful cathedral, but it seems more high than wide. The Cathedral is located on Sobornaya Square. The highest point is almost 50 meters, the interior is approximately 1,600m2 and it can accommodate 1,000 worshipers. There are five golden domes on top of the Cathedral. A main dome is surrounded by four smaller domes. The front view of the cathedral gives a great view of the bell tower, with it's twelve bells. The other domes may be found on the bell tower, and at the rear of the building. The rear view, from the Park next to the cathedral, gives a better view of the golden domes. The Cathedral was designed by A. Krylov, and construction which was started in the 1990's was halted due to lack of funds. It was restarted in 1999, and finished in the early 2000's. There are two chapels, built into either side of the Cathedral. The interior had great art. We particularly enjoyed the mosaics on the ceiling and walls, and the golden Chandeliers. The most impressive piece of furniture that we saw, was a table with two silver double headed eagles which was used to hold candles for sale. The Park next to the church was beautifully maintained and had sculptures of an Angel and Peter & Fevronia monument. It also had a lake and many "love" trees with locks attached. The Lora statue is at a round-a-bout a short drive away on Druzhby Narodov Street.

(Translated by Google) When I see cathedrals of the pre-Mongol period, I am amazed at how they survived 10 centuries and admire their beauty. The Transfiguration Cathedral is one of six monuments (of which five are cathedrals) of the pre-Mongol era in Chernigov. Its founder is Prince Mstislav, son of Vladimir, the baptist of Rus'. Having reigned in Tmutarakan (modern Crimea and Kuban), he wanted to occupy the Seversky “table” and for this he went to war against his brother Yaroslav the Wise. Having won the victory, he settled in Chernigov, made peace with his relatives, and in the early 1030s. began to build the cathedral. He did not live to see the completion of construction and was buried unfinished. The cathedral also contains the ashes of Prince Igor Svyatoslavich (the same one from “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign”), Igor Olgovich and other Chernigov princes of that era. The cathedral has survived to this day almost entirely, but was partially rebuilt after a fire in the 18th century. Instead of a baptismal chapel, a round tower was built, symmetrical to the left ancient tower with a staircase to the choir. Huge spiers were installed on both towers, which distorted the ancient appearance of the church. To top it all off, vestibules were installed in front of the portals, which is not typical for Byzantine churches. Take a close look at the façade; it is decorated with unusual and elegant brickwork. During the restoration, some of the walls were deliberately not plastered in order to show the art of the old master masons. These various masonry and signs were sundials for our ancestors. The temple is operational, there are ancient Greek columns inside, they were brought by the Byzantines who built the cathedral.

The Cathedral of the Transfiguration, or the Cathedral of the Savior in Chernihiv, is one of the oldest preserved monumental stone buildings in Ukraine, the main building of the Chernihiv principality. A monument of ancient Russian architecture. The church hall is almost the best in Ukraine for the sound of the voice; the acoustic characteristics of the hall are impressive and unsurpassed. St. Catherine's Cathedral

Eastern Orthodox Church
Sights & Landmarks
St. Catherine's Cathedral, built in 1715 in the Cossack Baroque style, is a lavish tribute to local Cossacks who perished in 17th-century Russian Azov campaigns against the Ottomans. Located near Dytynets, it offers clear views of Trinity Monastery's bell tower. While its interior may not be extraordinary, the cathedral is a picturesque landmark at the park's end and holds sentimental value for some visitors.

Mizhrichynskyi Regional Landscape Park

National park
Nature & Parks
Mizhrichynskyi Regional Landscape Park is one of the largest regional landscape parks in Ukraine, situated between the Dnieper and Desna rivers in the Chernihiv region. Despite being relatively young, it boasts diverse landscapes including grasslands, forests, and rivers. The park is renowned for mushroom foraging and fishing opportunities. Visitors can explore the lush greenery and serene environment while keeping an eye out for snakes.
One of those unique places in Ukraine where You can still meet ordinary Ukrainians. These elderly cow-breeders lead very simple honorable life of survivors. Gradually such villages will be extinct. Nature here is identical to utmost green & wild Chernobyl landscape. Except, unlike Chornobyl, people still do live here. You seek something very old-fashioned, unique and very authentic in amazing forest area: this destination is right for you. Inexpensive private hotels are easily found on the route from Kyiv, via Vyshgorod, Khotyanivka, Dubiechnia, Pirnovo and further village areas, via Desna military base. Otrohy resort is nearest hotel closest to destination. For those seeking sense of life. Rent a car, no other way to go there. Winter time is for spiritually strong. Beremytske WIldlife Park with animals, lakes (see photo) and comfortable economy accomodation is just 33 kms away from Otrokhy village. By crossing amasing picturesque bridge in Oster town over Desna river.

Kozelets The town's main cathedral and architectural attraction is the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin. The cathedral was built in the mid-18th century in the late Ukrainian Baroque style by architects Ivan Hryhorovych-Barskyi and Andrei Kvasov, according to a project by imperial architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Funds for the construction of the cathedral were provided by Alexey and Kyrylo Rozumovsky (the latter was appointed Hetman in 1750). The Cathedral consists of two tiers. The first one is the Church of Adrian and Natalia – Rozumovsky tomb. The second is the Cathedral. The interior design is represented by carving and gilding. The decoration of the cathedral includes a five-finger iconostasis, carved out of wood by the Italian masters from drawings of the architect Rastrelli. There is an interesting story about how the iconostasis appeared in Kozelets. He was made for the St. Petersburg Smolny Convent. But Rozumovsky brothers, being in Elizabeth’s good graces, have transported the 27 meter high iconostasis to Kozelets. However, the attempt to install it in the cathedral in one piece was not successful. It was decided to send the parts to the church in the native village of Rozumovsky. The iconostasis consisted of 80 icons, 50 of them have remained until now. And divine force invites you to enter the cathedral, to pray, to light a candle and to think about the life.

One of the oldest survived wooden estate ( 18st) owned by Pokorsky, Daravan, Rozymovsky families. Good spot on a way from Kyiv to Chernihiv in Kozelets town on Oster river.

A very interesting and mystical place since totally ruined. Hier lived the family of Rozumovskys, two of them were Olexij, the future lover and secret husband of Elizabeth I, the Russian empress, and Kyrill, the last Ukrainian Hetmann.

(Translated by Google) An old manor that time has not spared. The house is abandoned, the windows and doors are boarded up, but you can get into the basement. A torn piece of iron on the roof creaks and taps. The house seems to be asking: “Look what happened to me. Help me.” The Oster River flows very close by. It was once a good place to live. It’s a pity that such places die, taking with them a piece of history, someone’s life. There remain narratives that will also die someday, torn from their place.

(Translated by Google) On the outskirts of Kozelets, within the former village of Pokorshchyna, the estate of Colonel Yukhym Daragan, the husband of Vira Razumovsky (sister of Kirill and Oleksiy Razumovsky), has been preserved. The manor house was built in the second half of the 18th century. To the left of the house there is a carriage shed decorated with carvings. An abandoned wooden outbuilding, a cluttered poor park and a storeroom. Although in 1975, the Soviet film "Star of Captivating Happiness" (about the Decembrists) was filmed here. The unique building of the Daragan manor is a tenement house. Built in the middle of the 18th century, this structure simultaneously performed economic and fortification functions. At one time, there was an arsenal of the Daragans here, then a cellar. In Soviet times, the tenement house was turned into a typical collective farm storeroom, but now it stands empty and is slowly falling into disrepair.

(Translated by Google) Many people remember the words from the song of the group King and the Jester “...In an overgrown park, there is an old house, the windows are boarded up and darkness remains forever in it.” These words are very suitable for another survivor of our time. The photo shows the only wooden estate in all of Ukraine that has survived to this day, which belonged to the Daraganovs and Rozumovskys. It was built not in Polish, not in Russian, but in the original Ukrainian style, thanks to this house, we can imagine what wooden estates of the 17-18th century might have looked like on our lands. The fact that it is in terrible condition and at the moment looks very deplorable does not in any way diminish its historical significance. This area and these walls remember a very interesting and piquant history, which I will now try to succinctly describe, just look at the name of this region - Pokorshchina, from the word to submit. Imagine… This very house. This is the same porch with old thick oak columns. And on the steps of the estate stands Rozumikha (as Natalya Rozumovskaya was popularly called), she peers with an arrogant, stern gaze through the alley of tall, fat, dark green, northern trees. The Empress herself, the daughter of Peter the Great, Elizabeth, is about to appear on the horizon... And around from the neighboring huts, from all possible cracks, windows and trees, all sorts of onlookers, rogues and local serfs are looking. Everyone is waiting for the moment when the empress gets down on her knee and bows her head in front of the tavern and commoner Rozumikha. This was the old custom: before going down the aisle with her lover, the future daughter-in-law must bow to her mother-in-law. The story is, of course, like a fairy tale, as romantic as possible) Let me remind you that Elizabeth’s chosen one was an ordinary Ukrainian Cossack, a shepherd and a singer in the church choir - Alexey Rozum (in the future Count Rozumovsky, who was crazy lucky)) And the stars aligned in such a way that Alexei became the chosen one of the Empress herself and one of the richest and most influential people in the Empire. And now Her Majesty’s motorcade appears in the distance (our presidents are smoking nervously on the sidelines) usually it could be about 80-120 carts, but not today, everything should go quietly and in secret... The leisurely clatter of hooves on the rare stone paving stones and the royal carriage drives up to the porch of the estate. From there comes a Great Woman, who in her entire life has never put on the same dress twice... Deathly silence hung in the air, the birds stopped chirping around, all living things held their breath and were afraid to move even the smallest cricket in the thick Ukrainian grass... Rozumovskaya straightens her back, straightens her posture and takes a step forward, this woman has experienced many troubles and gone through many trials, she raised six children alone and personally ran a large tire along the road. She knew and firmly believed that fate would definitely smile on her, because it was not for nothing that on the night before Christmas, she had a dream about how bright stars lit up under the ceiling of her native hut and a young and beautiful Ukrainian month rose into the sky. The Empress slowly raises her bright gray-blue eyes, and there is a timid and shy pause. The two women's gazes finally met and one second was enough for them to read each other's thoughts. In the garden, a black rooster with a huge red comb roared at the top of his lungs and broke the awkward silence. “Bowed...The Empress Bowed!” , - and barefoot children ran in all directions to spread this news throughout the Hetmanate, and where is the truth and where is fiction, now only the walls and the window, and the wooden porch of this very estate know. P.s. The estate is an architectural monument. And now they are actively filming stories about her. Various TV channels visited here, a month ago a report was made by 1+1. They are starting to look for patrons of the arts, and cleanup days are held here periodically. In general, there is a chance that it will be restored. I will post a photo from the movie “Star of Captivating Happiness” and it shows that during the years of the USSR the estate was in good condition and fell into complete disrepair during the years of our independence.

Had so much fun there. A lot of water slides and other fun things too. Excellent saunas and a variety of pools. Lifeguards always on watch👀. Safety is guaranteed 😂. They also have a restaurant in one of the pools so deep feel free to buy a drink or food when you're hungry. Special spa treatments are also available. Open to all. Very friendly staff.

Nice place, but 2 of the "lifeguards" were asleep in the bath. Good with poolbar, yes you sit in the pool drinking and eating, but the forget my order took almost a hour to get a burger.

I've visited this aqua park since my school years. The first time I was here was in 2009. And the last time we visited it 2 days ago and I still LOVE this place. Ideal spot to spend your time with friends or family. Being here your time will spin up very quickly and will spill over into incredible emotions. A lot of space, different zones, cool canteen, a bar in the pool, Jacuzzi and other fun. Must-have place to visit. Highly recommend.
Alexander T — Google review
It is a quite small aquapark, but there are some nice slides. I liked only 2 of them, but to get there you have to wait in line for some time. The djakuzi zone is nice, you can spend some relaxing time between slides. The location is ok (20 min from Kyiv), but we suggest not to go back with the last bus, there are too many people. We suggest to take unlimited ticket, it is not very pricy, and this way you can try everything and not to worry about the time. You have lockers, soap in the shower and hair dryer. The rest you should bring with you (flipflops, towels etc.). The staff in the 'restaurant' and bar is very rude and unkind. It was terrible! We ordered food at the restaurant upstairs. The woman was constantly hurrying us up to make a decision. When she was weighing the food and it was 6 gr more, she took away one baby carrot from the plate. It look pathetic... especially if they put high prices. In the bar every boy who was working there was ignoring us and sending to another one. I went to the cash desk, where you are supposed to order, and the boy there told me he does not have time for me and i need to look for someone else. In the end we decided not to order anything there. I really left negative impression and affects my mark here. To the minuses i will add chlorine air all around the aquapark and dirty floor and stairs (it is disguisting to walk there barefoot). One time is enough :)

But only the owner Leonid makes reservations, so I had to write to him. It was very difficult to communicate with him! Didn't read or hear what I said at all. In response, I received strange off-topic messages. Mr. Leonid is not aware of the programs from the site at all. From the list of topics of the Familiarization tour, only 2 topics out of 8 were covered!!! Interactive was held. There is no question at all about Rozshishena, which I ordered, because it was not there. Therefore, we paid only UAH 180 per person, and not UAH 300 for the extended program, as agreed. I was hoping for an interactive experience: weaving, disassembling a beehive, etc. And I received a story about stones and shapes of tree stumps🙄😭 And how he bought this house from his grandmother, who passed away, several times. With all due respect to the elderly person, but your site does not correspond to the content of the program! And Leonid was selling a tour for UAH 90 and food for UAH 90 in Viber. But by no means programs from the site. Therefore, a full 90-minute excursion was stretched to 2 hours, but informationally empty. Only 2 topics out of 8! It was about the pantry and the beak. Not a word about weaving, beekeeping, a greenhouse, clothing, building a house. She also asked about the stove herself. Your program is unique and interesting, interactive, but the tour guide should not be authentic, but young. So that it was faster and the extended program was executed.

We were rudely dismissed, not offered any option to continue, although we were determined to continue and pay everything on the spot. Moreover, the children were encouraged to do something with their own hands🤷‍♀️ I understand that we ourselves are to blame for this situation. But we have already arrived, we are interested and such a bummer. I will say frankly that there were not a full house of visitors, our family, and that friend who was a little late for her time. That's why there was confusion, and we were mistaken for them🤣 We were told that we were not expected to have dinner from the oven (pies + compote), but we did not claim it. Feelings remained ambiguous. Therefore, if you plan to go - book an appointment (contacts in the last photo). Don't repeat our mistakes👍 Have a nice week everyone (Original)

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Enclosures with wolves, big cats & primates, overlooked by the replica of a famed German castle.
Honestly such a fun experience, love how everything is so hands on. You can practically touch all animals (with caution) & feed them. I’ve never been to a zoo where I can see animals close up and within a few feet. It’s such a unrealistic authentic experience. You also get a nice walk/stroll in because everything is within walking distance. But on a serious note, it’s a wonderful place for family and kids. Lots to do and see. Since we came in the winter, per staff there is a swimming pool area that is open in the summer for kids to enjoy and many other fun activities for a family day out.
Inna — Google review
The Zoo has many well kept animals, which is a very positive, indeed. Wild and stock animals. Very recommended for kids. There are plenty of playgrounds and kiosks with drinks, snacks, ice cream. Price wise this is an affordable place.
Igor M — Google review
A really nice zoo ! Not very big variety of animals but they look very happy, have a lot of space. You can buy special food and feed them. The entrance price is 150 uah but it's totally worth it. They have a cafe where you can buy food/beer but you can't pay with your card so better have some cash with you.
Bogdan Y — Google review
PROS 1. The animals seem well-maintained. 2. I noticed as a zoo employee was playing with the monkeys, it looked so touchingly. 3. You can see exotic animals in winter unlike the central kiev's zoo. CON When you visit the zoo in winter you should consider a lack of food points and WC. But even in all this it doesn't spoil the impression.
Dmytro Y — Google review
The best zoo I've ever been to. Happy animals, beautiful territory. The bear Island is just amazing (too bad we've missed the bath time :) )! Not to mention the Bengal tiger. Can't wait to come back -- soon. :)
Olena D — Google review
Amazing place where you can spend your time with family. A lot of different kinds of animals most of which can be feed by you. Also they have a pool, what will be very interesting for both children and adults. But there is one drawback - food. They have two cafes, but the food and service are awful.
Aleks C — Google review
Good park but I just expected more. It’s very far away from Kiev and rather expensive. Everything else s great though. Active animals, food for feeding and friendly staff.
Olga K — Google review
Good place to spend your weekend. Many animals whom you can feed yourself and big territory to have a good walk. Recommend it.

Sights & Landmarks
Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, also known as the Lavra, is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed Orthodox Christian monastery complex in Kyiv. It features ornate religious buildings such as the Dormition Church, refectory, and bell tower. One of its main attractions is the network of underground catacombs where mummified remains of former monks are laid to rest.
As one of the seven wonders of Ukraine, this monastery is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Saint Sophia Cathedral. Situated in Kiev, it is a monastic complex famed for its buried monks, spiritual atmosphere, and unique underground caves. Make sure you go up the stairs to enjoy a nice view over the city and panoramic view on the church from the towers.

A lot can be said about this place, but it is better to come and see everything yourself. It is difficult for me to imagine where else in the world there are so many historical buildings, caves, museums, icons in one territory. And indeed the place that is full of history. Just go to the free part, if you like it, you can come on Sunday and get into the "museum" part for free too.
Kir V — Google review
Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, also known as the Kyiv Monastery of the Caves, is one of Ukraine's most revered religious and cultural landmarks. Perched on the picturesque hills overlooking the Dnipro River in the Pechersk district of Kyiv, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a stunning example of Eastern Orthodox monastic architecture and a place of profound spiritual significance. Founded in 1051 by St. Anthony of Kyiv, the Lavra began as a humble cave monastery and grew into a vast complex of churches, bell towers, and subterranean catacombs. The history of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is deeply intertwined with the spread of Christianity in the region, serving as a spiritual center for Eastern Orthodoxy and a cradle of monasticism in Kievan Rus. Over the centuries, it has been a focal point of religious life, attracting pilgrims from across the Orthodox world. The architectural beauty of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is breathtaking. The complex is dominated by the Great Lavra Belltower, which soars to a height of 96.5 meters, making it one of the tallest bell towers in the world. The golden domes of the Dormition Cathedral, which was rebuilt after being destroyed during World War II, gleam in the sunlight, creating a striking contrast against the blue skies of Kyiv. The interior of the churches is adorned with exquisite frescoes, mosaics, and icons, reflecting the rich artistic tradition of the Orthodox Church. Beneath the Lavra's surface lies a network of catacombs, where the mummified remains of saints, monks, and notable figures from Ukrainian history are interred. These underground passages are a place of pilgrimage, with visitors coming to venerate the relics and experience the serene, otherworldly atmosphere of the caves. Culturally, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is a symbol of Ukraine's religious heritage and national identity. It has played a crucial role in the preservation and dissemination of Orthodox Christian traditions, theological scholarship, and religious art. The Lavra continues to be an active monastery, home to a community of monks who maintain the centuries-old spiritual practices that have been passed down through generations. In addition to its religious significance, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is a cultural treasure, hosting museums that display priceless artifacts, manuscripts, and religious objects. The site is not only a place of worship but also a center of learning, art, and history, embodying the spiritual and cultural legacy of Ukraine.

This is an amazing site to discover in Kyiv. Visit the church, see the mirror egg outside. The outstanding architecture. You need to visit this as travellers. It's a must and less than $5 to visit. On my visit there was some coffee machine outside, was very tasteful.

I visited just before the start of war, so my review is based on my experience at that time. A beautiful and historic monument in Kyiv. Arguably the centre of the Slavic Orthodox religion. I wish to visit again when things are back to normal.
Eric W — Google review
Beautiful place!!! Lots to see so make sure you have plenty of time. The bell tower is a little bit of a workout but completely worth it. The architecture, artwork, grounds and history is quite amazing.
Jason G — Google review
It’s not really “free” to enter but 100 UAH to pay. But of course it’s worth paying the amount as you’ll get to see amazing monastery with so many beautiful ornaments around. Do not miss the viewpoint as you’ll be able to see nice view under the river and to the war museum down south.

Amazingly beautiful. Worth visiting when in Kyiv and if you have a good day to dedicate. Not only the church but Monastery is full of beautiful holy places and micro environments, quite relaxing for visitors.

St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery is a historic site in Kiev, Ukraine, featuring a cathedral, bell tower, refectory, and gates all built in the Ukrainian Baroque style. The monastery was founded in 1108 by Sviatopolk Iziaslavovych and is dedicated to Michael the Archangel. It is renowned for being the first cathedral in Kyiv with gilded domes made of solid gold leaf.
My favorite building in Ukraine 🙏 I love the architecture, I love the blue color, the interior is beautiful 😍 Absolutely stunning. 🙏 I came to Kyiv in 2019. I hope to visit again.
JOE T — Google review
If you're staying at the InterContinental, St. Michael's Monastery is literally opposite. But even if you're not staying there, it's worth travelling across the city to see this beautiful religious building with its sky-blue walls, intricate riches and golden domed roof. Inside evokes many emotions through the haze of incense especially if visiting during some prayers / singing / chanting.
D — Google review
It’s really worth visiting here when you’re in the city. On a sunny day the golden roof really is glistening in the sun and the blue walls stand out prominently against the greyness of the surrounding area. Outside the surrounding wall there’s a nice square where you can sit and watch the world go by, including on my visit a photo shoot for a wedding, with loads of impressive and other ornate buildings. There was a number of locals selling stuff outside the entrance in the wall but fortunately they weren’t bothersome at all so don’t let it put you off. Once within the walls there’s a real sense of calm. There’s plenty of benches to sit and a nice walk around the grounds. There’s some other old buildings next to the main cathedral and a small ‘orchard’ which is pleasant in the sun. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to venture inside the main cathedral but despite that it was well worth checking out and it’s no wonder that it’s one of the cities main sights.
Steve B — Google review
The blue walls and golden domes of the exterior are very picturesque. The interior is quite impressive as well, and it is interesting to compare the fresh paintings here with the much older paintings in the nearby St Sophia’s.
JENNIS M — Google review
Really lovely place to visit. It is free to walk around, however if you want a guided tour or to find out more info there are additional charges to pay for these things. There are plenty of spaces and benches to sit and relax and reflect in these beautiful surroundings. There is a note that states no photography, however everyone there were taking pictures and nobody was approached to stop.

I am always amazed every time i visit here. The gold dome is amazing and very impressive, you will see the irony of grace and power. Inside the compound there's an olf church that was preserved too, like the old structure. Located in the nearby tourists spots, and churches as well. Souvenir shops around, but a bit expensive.

Ukrainian Motherland Monument

Sights & Landmarks
The Ukrainian Motherland Monument, towering over the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War Two, offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views of Kyiv from its 102-meter-high pedestal. This colossal stainless steel statue, unveiled in 1981, symbolizes the resilience and spirit of the Ukrainian people. As one of the world's tallest statues, it stands as a tribute to Soviet soldiers and is surrounded by a park featuring military displays and a World War II Museum.
Really breathtaking place. The current exposition, near the monument, with weapons and arsenal and the recreation of how people have lived under the siege of Russians is really shocking and important for the world to see.
Guillem C — Google review
The Motherland Monument in Kiev is a monumental sculpture that is the central object of the memorial complex of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. The unique statue, which rises on the Pecherskaya Hills on the right bank of the Dnieper River, is viewed from almost anywhere in the city. It became the calling card of modern Kiev and was among the ten highest monuments of the planet. The grand opening of the Motherland in the entire museum complex took place on May 9, 1981. General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party L. Brezhnev took direct part in the ceremony. The height of the Motherland monument is 62 meters. The height of the cone pedestal is 40 meters. The all-welded statue weighs almost 500 tons. The main frame is 20 meters deep. The size of the shield is 8 meters by 12 meters. The height of the sword is 16 meters. The structure has two elevators – an inclined angle of 75 degrees and a vertical elevator terminating at the head of the statue. They are used to lift visitors to observation decks, but above all for the maintenance of the Motherland.Another must visit if you are in Kyiv. The Motherland Monument towers over the city and really is a symbol of independence / resistance that many Ukrainians are proud of. The park around the monument of free of charge to walk around and is very well kept. There are also a number of tanks on display , and for a small fee you can pay to visit the WWII museum next to the park. I am told the museum is very interesting but was closed during our visit due to the air raid siren going off.Standing proudly over the Kiev skyline is the 340-foot tall, stainless steel Soviet Mother Motherland statue. Originally intended to be even taller, the sword of the statue was cut because it was higher than the cross of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra - renowned Orthodox Christian Monastery. She ranks 18th on the list of the world’s tallest statues and for example a bit of comparison, The Statue of Liberty ranks about 42nd.

Very cool place. Very somber. The museum and monument are done perfectly, impeccable, lots of extremely interesting facts and items from WW2, all the way up to the conflict in Crimea. This is definitely a worthwhile stop. You must go to the top of the monument!

The most amazing place in Kiev. It's a must visit destination in a traveller's list if he's visiting Kiev. The place is very well built and it displays all the war materials used in World Wars, it's just amazing and can only be felt not described. It has many more nearby tourist places which can be visited by walk or by bus.
Vaibhav N — Google review
This museum could be called the house of Europe's "Statue of Liberty". A huge and beautiful statue locates the entry of the museum. At the entry you could think it's not as big as it really is. It covers all of Kiev struggle during WWII with a lot of objects from that era. When I was there the balcony was closed so I couldn't get to see the statue at the bottom, but it was definitely worth it, and the last room with the fotos and the objects of the fallen during the war makes a real impact in you. Despite this the museum shows is age and everything it's in ukranian. So it's not that prepared to welcome tourists, although it's a must in Kyiv.
André S — Google review
Huge (23rd tallest statue in the world) monument overlooking Kiev. Great views across the city from the area. It's part of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. I didn't visit the museum itself, was short on time, but there are plenty of exhibits to see outside which you don't have to pay to see. Also some big statues at the base and a tank painted in the Ukrainian national colours.

One of these places can really be considered a historical heritage of Kyiv. Low-rise buildings that intersect with modern life. Maybe it would have been better to save - sure, but it doesn't make sense to sthink how it could be, we have to save what we have for now! Glory to Ukraine.

It was Outstanding!!! Truly a first class experience for me attending my first ballet performance! The performers did just fantastic and all had super amazing skills! Same with the very talented orchestra and their conductor! Blew and my wife and I away!!! The historic theater is really something to see and experience! To the right of the theater there was even still stay a road along which carriages used to go to performances. Slava Ukraini.

Fantastic performances in a beautiful historic concert hall. The ticket prices were more than reasonable. There were performances scheduled for every night. The acoustics of the concert hall were very good. The sets, the orchestra, the performers, the costumes were all excellent. Any visit to Kiev should include a night at the Opera.

St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, constructed in the 19th century to commemorate the 900th anniversary of Orthodox Christianity in Kyiv, is a stunning architectural gem that captivates visitors with its vibrant yellow façade and striking blue domes, characteristic of Byzantine design. My visit coincided beautifully with sunset, casting a warm glow on the exterior and enhancing its charm.

New clean and nice place. There are a lot of original wooden sculptures of animals and fairy tale characters. There are a lot of high and straight pine trees. Fitted with a pair items of gym equipment and a rather big children's playground. Good for a short walk.

Perfectly built park zone by city major that is being under crime investigation due to doing too many good things for citizens while not paying "crime tax" to Ukrainian government sitters.

National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine

The National Museum of Ukrainian Architecture and Culture is an open-air museum located in the south of Kiev that displays traditional Ukrainian buildings from different regions. The museum is a great way to learn about the traditional lifestyles of Ukrainians in different periods. There are more than 300 buildings, some dating back to the 16th century, in six villages that have been reassembled here.
Wow! It looks like a place where historical films about Kievan Rus are filmed, but this is real architecture. This is a very large national museum of the life of the Ukrainian people. It seems that the village, which is 100 years old, was simply moved in time and placed in the middle of the forest. You don't see the end, you see the beginning. Even in a moment you forget what year it is.

Feels like you go back in time. I haven’t been to this place for many years since I was a kid and now visiting with my international husband it was very special feeling. I get to show him my Ukrainian culture and he get to know more about Ukraine and people. It was very beautiful experience especially during the war… make you value all of it more. Also we had food there and home made “moon shine” so tasty!

Well worth the visit! You get to see how people used to live hundreds of years ago. This is open air museum is a collection of authentic houses and churches from all over Ukraine. They were dismantled and reconstructed in this historical park. Some houses are more then 200 years old. I’ll of the houses are original (not reconstructions). Most of the are open and decorated with authentic household items. It’s very interesting to see what people were using during their daily life back then. Churches are still used today for service and during holidays. When you’ll get hungry you’ll find plenty of great authentic food on the premises. It will take you several hours to see the whole park, so schedule at least ½ day. You can also rent bicycles and get to places faster. In fact many locals come here just to ride their bikes. It is a great retreat from city life. Even though the park is in the city, you’ll feel like you are in a village.

Beautiful place filled with magic. Incredible to visit each season of the year. Peaceful nature, old houses, full of pagan culture and old signs. Great for photos, meditation or just having fun with the friends. Great price for the tickets. Location is not that easy to reach, but totally worth it. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful park and area just out of the center of Kiev. Worth a visit if you have more time and like such remote, historic and different locations, the day was really warm and sunny and this really made the experience very memorable. Little orthodox churches are simple outside, but so beautiful inside. The smell of wood very unique. Make your day a bit different and come here, plenty to see, area is really big, good location to take some beautiful pictures as well.

You can spend about 3 hrs walking around here and the structures are beautiful. In one section there are later architectures in brick all representing different regions of Ukraine. Plenty of space to lay down a blanket and picnic or snooze. Plenty of shops for food and souvenirs for the tourist.

It's obvious that this place could use some work but even with that it deserves 5 stars. Great overview of the traditional Ukrainian huts. When I visited not all the huts were open, which was a good thing because I was able to see a little bit of everything. Be prepared for a lot of walking.

It is truly an amazing place. There are so many exhibits of almost all kinds of colonies of Ukraine. The Carpathian regions, the Dnieper regions etc. One should have ample amount of time to roam about the area. At least 3-5 hours are required to explore this place. My recommendation will be to rent a bicycle to have the best experience. There is a nice place to have food inside the territory as well.

Lobster Beach Club

Outdoor Activities
Lobster Beach Club is a sizable entertainment complex and resort situated on the shores of picturesque Blue Lake, just outside Kyiv. The venue offers pristine sandy beaches and crystal-clear water, along with a plethora of recreational activities, sports facilities, and evening entertainment. The private beach area can accommodate up to 150 guests and features an enclosed swimming space with spacious umbrellas and comfortable chairs, as well as soft white towels. Additionally, there is a swimming pool that can hold around 100 individuals.
Excellent atmosphere that creates excellent rest

Swimming is quite ok in the pool. The showers lacks of place to put your things (i.e. dry clothes). The restaurant has much to learn. The menu should say what they can serve, not what might be available.

I've had a problem with the door man wich he did not let me inside assuming that the place is full, he told me to wait for a place, only a few minutes later he lets other people in. i asked to speak with his supervisor but he ignored me. I spoke with them on the phone and they also ignored me. The problem is that im not ukrainian and he thougt it ok for him to do so. I think what they trying to say is this place is for ukrainian people only, so i suggest if you'r not ukrainian DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

(Translated by Google) A wonderful lake with clean, clear water, I really liked the place, we will come again with pleasure, but I am not sure that we will choose Lobster. We ordered 5 glasses of prosecco on tap at 165 UAH per glass, the waiter brought a bottle, we clarified that we ordered 5 glasses, not a bottle, to which the waiter replied that the portion prosecco is 150 ml, and in the bottle there is exactly 0.75 l. When we received the bill, we saw that we were charged 1855 UAH for the bottle instead of 825 that we ordered, we asked the waiter for an explanation, to which he replied that you drank the bottle, so pay. We called the administrator, to which she replied: "Girl, what is this expensive for you?!" (in Russian, as usual) we explained that it was not about the price, but that we were not brought what we ordered. We solved the situation by excluding the service charge from the check, which was automatically calculated at 10%. The place is nice, but the service was absolutely not to our liking. If you choose this place for a vacation, be sure to check the check.

(Translated by Google) We went here as planned, the water in the pool and in the lake is very warm, they don't lie about 26-27 degrees, although there were a lot of people, since it was a day off, but it was very cool, we would come back here again. But there are also disadvantages, the water in the lake is just crystal clear, but there is a lot of algae, and you could clean your beach, I'm not talking about the whole lake, but at least the beach, you go waist-deep and strong algae begin, it is not that expensive to clean it, especially since they charge 800-900 UAH per person for entry. I still don't understand why it's so expensive in the cafe, the prices are just outrageous, although it's not even a restaurant, 300 ml of beer is 325 UAH 😅 I'll keep quiet about the rest)))) And the last minus that we didn't even expect, we went there with children, and took 3 sun loungers, one near the pool and 2 near the beach, since the children liked the beach more, and we spent most of our time on the beach, we didn't really need a sun lounger near the pool, but we came to swim and left our things there, and the children sat on it, when they saw us off to choose a sun lounger, they said that in order for the employees to see that the sun lounger is occupied, you need to spread a towel (not counting your things), we did the same near the pool, and did not leave personal things since we were most of the time on the beach, and obviously since we go to swim in the pool, and come to our sun lounger, and it is occupied, we went to the registration which was near the pool, explained the situation, and no one understood how this could happen it worked out, we waited for the worker to come, he offered another place, but we explained that we were coming here at 8:00 in the morning to take the places that were comfortable for us and we want the sunbed that we took for ourselves upon our arrival, well, and in the end we got our sunbed, but they didn’t give us a new towel, and our towel was taken by the man who was on our sunbed, but this is not so significant of course, because then we started getting ready and went home. It’s a pity that on their Instagram page they lie, they wrote and published that the rental of SUPs is 300 UAH per hour, but locally it was 300 for half an hour and 600 for an hour (unpleasant) But we still took it and did not regret it. Thanks for a good place) (Original)

(Translated by Google) Absolute squatting. I went there without paying a penny, because I did not use any sun loungers, umbrellas or other services. Any person has the right to free access to the water. If you just want to go and swim, you are not obliged to pay for it. People, stop humiliating yourselves! Do not fall for the tricks of the administration, which demands money for entry when you do not rent anything from them. If there is a disagreement and you are not allowed in, call the police. This is legal, and such violators are fined. Moreover, the more times the police come, the higher and more serious the fines will be for them. If such cases become more frequent, there is a chance that the state will finally pay attention to this and order will be restored. Everything depends on how ready people are to defend their rights. Do not remain silent and do not be afraid to defend what is due to you by law!

Amusement park
Classes & Workshops
Family-friendly historic park on ancient Kiev with equestrian shows, festivals & archery classes.
This is a nice place to visit during the weekend if you like shows and actions. There are some interesting old-styled wooden constructions and, of course, beautiful nature. If you want just to see this place and walk around, come here on weekdays, when there is no single person except of a few guard guys. Take something to eat and drink — there is no place to buy food there on weekdays.

Historical replica with beautifully constructed buildings and period activities. Worth a visit to understand medieval life in Ukraine.

The idea of the park is very interesting. It is obvious that place is built with skill and passion. However, it seems that owners forgot about maintainance: new buildings are built, while old ones are falling apart. It is a place worth visiting during weekend, as we happened to come there on Tuesday and everything was closed. The territory itself was open and we still had to pay the entrance fee (100uah), but there was absolutely nothing working - no food, no costumes, no bar, not even a place to buy water! It made us very unhappy, since the place is in the middle of nowhere...
