Lovely little experience. Great walk and lovely scenery. A bit pricey to get in but you can go in multiple times throughout a 7 day period so actually really worth it.

Shanklin Chine is a really beautiful and peaceful place to explore – the gardens, waterfalls, and lighting in the evening make it feel magical. It’s a lovely walk and there’s a real sense of history too, with some interesting information boards along the way. Perfect for a gentle stroll and to take in some nature away from the busier parts of Shanklin. That being said, it did feel a little pricey for what it is – the walk doesn’t take very long unless you really take your time. Still, it’s worth visiting at least once, especially if you’ve not been before, as it’s such a unique and picturesque spot.

This was a much nicer way of getting back to the top of the high street! A fun walkway with quirky footpaths to follow and as I went during Halloween there were dinosaurs and skeletons all around. Apparently at night the street lights go on so it’ll be more spooky but fun. It can be difficult to climb certain bits, the steps at the very top are hard but good railings and a bench half way helped! Lovely waterfall at the top too. You can get a 7 day pass for returning during that time. Nice gift shop.

Enjoyed the experience and outdoor lighting ambience. Great place to spend in about 40 minutes for horror and vibrant walk at Shanklin Chine. They also offer tickets which is valid for 7 days and multiple returns.

Though the walk down to the beach is lovely, it doesn't take long. ( 15 mins ) It has a few steep steps, not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies Went late September, so there was a Halloween theme, some the skeletons were somewhat comical. Is it worth the entrance fee ( 12.95 ) no not really, quite disappointing really.

Wonderful summer holiday home for Victoria & Albert and their family. Gorgeous house filled with collected art objects, souvenirs and tributes from around the world. The grounds are beautiful and it's clear the royal family enjoyed Osborne House where they could relax and be themselves.

Such a beautiful place to go. With lots of history and beautiful scenery. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. This is highly recommended if you visit the Isle of Wight.

A lot to see and take in, both in the large interior areas, as well as small details and specific features as well as having a exhibit about the building's history. Worth a visit. Easily spent about 1h and a half looking at burrial sites, architecture, history and art.

A beautiful cathedral, worth a visit to see the architecture, carvings and stained glass windows. Jane Austen is buried in the cathedral with her memorial stone in the nave. Those interested in history will find plenty to see. Anyone in search of a peaceful place with find it here. There is an entrance fee but it allows free further visits for 12 months.

It is such a nice spot to just have a sit down, not very loud and obviously has a incredible architecture! During my trip to Winchester I stopped by here a few times - the inside of the cathedral is beautiful and worth seeing but tickets are overpriced. Also if you enjoy books, there is a great shop round one of the sides that has something for everyone📚

The guided tour that comes with the admission price is easily worth it. I was bowled over with our guide's (Michael) depth of knowledge and fantastic anecdotes about the cathedral. The ticket is open for a year. There's so much more to find out about this splendid building we will probably be back. Winchester's nice to walk around too. Probably best to avoid peak times.

The staff was really friendly and the cathedral is pretty big and beautiful, definitely worth the time. We chatted for 15-20 min with the staff member in the library (yeah they have an amazing library with beautiful old books) he told us really great stories and gave us some insights on how big of a work goes into working with these. The cathedral overall is really detailed and has an interesting story, it even has a small museum inside.

The great cathedral is the primary reason why we wanted to visit Winchester and it did not disappoint. We jumped into one of the tours being offered at the ticket entrance and had such a great experience. The tour took just over an hour, and we spent another hour afterwards exploring the massive space, checking out some of the many sacred and historical items on display (including the Winchester Bible), and paying our respects at the Jane Austen memorial with the added bonus of occasional organ music in the background. A perfect way to spend a half day.

Highly, highly recommend visiting and taking the guided tour! The volunteers were enthusiastic, welcoming, and very friendly. There was so much history to see, including an exhibition. We had Robert Little as our tour guide, and he truly brought the history to life. He was very knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging in his storytelling! One of the many details I enjoyed was when he pointed out some of the different architectural styles, such as Norman or Gothic. Since the ticket is valid for a full year, he even recommended joining tours with other guides to get different flavours of information and perspectives. Overall, definitely a fantastic experience!

Absolutely stunning Castle and very informative and professional tour. We also had a wonderful lunch and tea service with plenty of cakes and desserts along with our pre-booked castle tour. Our tour guide Sarah was wonderful and gave us all the details necessary to truly appreciate this beautiful castle. We learned a lot about the Lord and Lady Carnavron and about the history of the castle and the families who have called this beautiful place home. We were able to walk among the gardens and that was stunning. There should be an entire page dedicated to the fantastic Egyptian antiquities exhibit found as part of this tour!

We had a wonderful time at Highclere Castle .It was the second last day on my trip to the U.K . The grounds are beautiful and the castle stunning . Could not take photos inside it take my word it is worth a visit. The staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about their job . When you walk through those huge wooden doors you think you have walked into a Downton Abbey set .

We enjoyed our time at Highclere immensely. The staff was very helpful and friendly, answered all our questions and we even walked down the beautiful staircase. Unfortunately you are not able to take photos inside but it was lovely to be in the moment taking it all in and enjoying it. Do go and take the picnic tea, however note that it could easily work for 3-4 people not just 2! Wonderful day. 5 stars.

This was an great stop on our way to Heathrow after disembarking from our cruise ship in Southampton. We enjoyed the gardens however suggest if you get to castle at 9:30 to 10:00 am cue up for the castle first then do the gardens. Oh, and if you already have tickets printed, don't get in the cue, go to the right and scan for direct entrance. Thanks to the lovely women who mentioned that to us. The self guided tour of the castle and gardens is great. We purchased the Tea lunch which was super fun. More than enough for for two...we were three and could have easily fed four. Overall a nice way to cap a great 10 days of cruising before a 16 hour journey home back to Seattle/Tacoma.

Simply amazing visit. With the castle decorated for Christmas in a victorian style this year it is currently only open for prebooked private tours. Visiting on a day when the rain made the sky's dark and deluged us all just added to the atmosphere. A lovely afternoon tea in a very cosy marquee competed our visit. Although not a cheap day, it was certainly worth it for the experience. A lovely welcome from the countess herself and a truly excellent guide for the house as well as the very atmospheric Egyptian collection in the cellar made this a true day to remember.

The house was breathtaking when we saw it for the first time, walking up the drive and was even bigger than it looked like in Downton Abbey. The grounds are huge with lovely gardens and walks. The only down side being that you can’t take bags or eat your own picnic in the grounds. Nevertheless, a day very well spent!

Beautiful grounds to wander through with loads of benches dotted around to sit and ponder on! House is stunning to walk-around the outside before you enter. The inside was very interesting too and felt surprisingly cosy although still opulent in parts. Lovely tea shop which was very reasonable. I paid £3.50 for a fresh scone with clotted cream and jam. Gift shop is a bit different with some interesting bits too... including bottles of their own gin.

You need more than a day to explore everything here!! That was our only complain. It is a great place to spend time with kids. No water related rides/pools for adults which we found disappointing as we came prepared for one (without checking in detail online). That's why the 4 star. There's a splash area for kids and that's it for anything water related as far as I can tell. Would give it 5 star purely for everything kids related. There's lots to explore here. I read on one the reviews to get a packed lunch and I'm glad I read it and we did bring something to eat during the day which did save us some ££!!. We went on a weekday during the school holidays and it wasn't that crowded. Parking is hassle free and they guide you to an empty spot. We went to Peppa Pig World first and managed to get on few of the rides without queuing for long. We found this to be better than Legoland based on our overall experience. Would be going back to explore the unexplored sections/rides hopefully soon!!

Paultons Park is a beautiful, well kept and very themed in the seperate of areas in the park. There is so so many family rides what everyone can enjoy. The ride access pass was so easy to use. The food in the Route 83 diner was really nice. Amazing price value in the shop & food outlets. The toilets was very clean. If the rides are getting to much you have got the gorgeous well kept gardens and animals to walk round. Paultons deserved the best theme park of the year as I had no faults with anything. 🤍

Great theme park, not only for younger kids but also for big boys along with adults. Went in Halloween and it was all Pumpkins everywhere. Nicely decorated, enough rides. Visited for 2 days with short break, but if either young or old kids only or if managed properly, all rides and parks can be covered in a day.

Ample free parking, easy check in, well done with the halloween theme, waits on some rides are reasonable. Their phone app is super useful showing locations and waiting times. Staff is friendly, rides are all safe, place and toilets are clean. On stage shows were entertaining. Great place for a family day.

Our family had an exceptional experience. There are numerous activities available, ensuring that every individual will discover something to their liking. We are certainly planning a return visit, as the weather was not ideal during our last stay..

Great range of rides, clean facilities, queues were manageable with max time of 20 mins. Peppa pig world seemed to be the busiest area, as expected. Booked through the stay option and went for the Marriott Portsmouth which was also great. Well managed across the two companies.

Although you may think the tickets are expensive I felt it was good value for my money. The park is well kept, not overcrowded and well-staffed. The food was good quality restaurant sized portions. We had a fabulous day & my grand daughter of 4yrs made lots of friends. Our favourite spots were the playgrounds, soft play & the seal ride.

The Needles Landmark Attraction is absolutely worth visiting – a true highlight of the Isle of Wight! The views are breathtaking, and the chairlift ride is an unforgettable experience, offering stunning sights of the cliffs, sea, and the famous Needles. It’s something everyone should try at least once. There are a couple of small areas that could be improved. The food section could offer a bit more variety and quality, and clearer signage for the beach path (especially placed above the queue area) would make things easier for visitors. That said, the chairlifts themselves were excellent – smooth, safe, and such a unique way to take in the scenery. Overall, a fantastic attraction that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight. Don’t miss it!

Lovely place to visit on the Ilse of Wight. It was a very windy day on our visit to the Needles. We took a trip on the cable car that takes you down to the foreshore,what an experience it was as your lowered over the cliff edge. There is plenty of things to do to keep the kids occupied and the area is disabled friendly. There is a lovely coffee shop selling tea and coffee,soft drinks and cakes ect. A couple of gift shop also. Toilets on site are clean. Large car park. £6.00 per vehicle, £4.00 if a member of the National trust. Also there is a beautiful glass shop.

We went in a bank holiday. Narrow roads leading to the site along with many coaches and cars. We paid £6 for the car park and disabled were allowed to park at the bottom on the field but it was still a mobility navigation issue getting down to the main road. It was very busy. We walked through there gates and had an ice cream with flake. There were many tables with seating but these were mainly full with people eating the various foods (curry was in the air) and picnics. As we walked through the site along- the chair lifts were on the right and the queue to get in was vast. We stood on the platform at the end overlooking the needles . We don’t use the telescope but the pictures bought it closer. For us it was hot and crowded and we stayed about 1.5hrs. Makes the parking expensive . Didn’t know about the boat trip.

Lots of fun for the whole family. Recommend a ride on the chair lift to Alum Bay where you will find the beautiful coloured sands. There are steps down to the beach. You can also get a boat to The Needles to see them from the sea. There are cafes, shops, crazy golf and rides to go on.

This view is simply unforgettable and so relaxing! The vast blue sky, the sea, and the dramatic green cliffs make for pure natural beauty. The best part was the unexpected rainbow over the water—it was truly amazing! Highly recommend a visit here for the stunning views.

You have to visit The Needles when you come to Isle of Wight! We loved our The Needles visit! We paid £10 each for return tickets for the chairlift option to get down to the small Needles beach! Totally worth it saves us from climbing up and down the steep staircase! And then when we got to the bottom of the beach, we paid another extra £9 each for a 20mins boat ride which is also another must do, the boat guide was excellent and very knowledgeable on the whole of the needles landmark!

Amazing views and a fun place to visit. The chairlift ride is the highlight, giving you fantastic views of the Needles and the bay. Easy to get around, plenty of parking, and great for photos.

This is truly a place you should visit at least once when in the UK. We had a short 3-day cycling trip here. Everything was wonderful — from the scenery to the people. Just a note: you should prepare an offline map before coming, as in some areas the signal is very weak and you can hardly use online maps.

The rebirth of Foxlease Park, nice to see it back up and running, volunteered here back in February? And it was just nice to see it with life and music... Nice little room in the coach house, could do with an extra pillow, but nice time.

Walking along winding paths — sometimes straight through the woods — feels effortless with the fresh scent of nature all around. 25 km passed without me even noticing, just chilling, absorbing the atmosphere, and enjoying the calm. Perfect time of day to visit if you want peace, beauty, and that grounding forest energy. ⭐️ Highly recommend: come in the late afternoon, slow down, and let the forest do the rest #newforest

Went there with my father now 94, loved the cars, remined him of the old days, we used to have fords then. Only comment is the coffer shops when busy seems to take forever. otherwise great place to visit.

The New Forest is a brilliant place for families, especially with kids. The free-roaming ponies, donkeys, and other animals make it feel magical, and places like the Wildlife Park add more chances to see deer, otters, and birds. There are plenty of easy walking trails too, such as at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary, and lots of open spaces that are perfect for picnics. Camping is well set up with designated sites, ranging from rustic fields to family-friendly spots with toilets and showers. Wild camping isn’t allowed, but the official sites give you space for kids to play and a good base to explore. Shops are small village stores or farm shops rather than big supermarkets, and toilets are generally available at visitor centres, though sometimes basic. The park doesn’t really have a big lake for swimming or boating, and indoor play options are limited, so it’s very much an outdoor destination. If you’re prepared for nature, fresh air, and a slightly rustic feel, the New Forest is a wonderful family escape where children can explore freely and see animals up close.

Beautiful place to go loads of open spaces for people to walk and cycle. Large areas for children play. Beautiful river at brockenhurst where you can often see horses and foals, cattle and sometimes donkeys and pigs.

Gorgeous place, well worth a visit if you appreciate nature. The ponies are such a treat to see. It’s also great for beginner cyclists as it has the Old Railway route created by Cycling UK. I felt like I was in a renaissance oil painting at times because the sights were so beautiful. Make sure to get out early to admire the sights as it gets very busy in August.

Worth a visit, especially if you have the English Heritage membership and have been to nearby Stonehenge. There isn't a lot left of the old castle, but it is in a nice, elevated position overlooking the "new" Salisbury Cathedral. We spent an hour or so looking around the ruins and admiring the lovely autumnal colours in the surrounding countryside. There is a small shop on site, it sells the usual memorabilia and EH stuff (always seems to be a new mead variation to buy). The staff members were friendly and helpful, we had a pleasant conversation. About 25 car parking places, the road up to it is quite steep and narrow, but there are passing points on every corner.

One of my favourite days out, this place had such beautiful views, great history and the people who worked here were very welcoming, up for a chat and overall friendly, also got some ice cream which i was quite happy they had a decent amount of vegan options. You can easily spend a good few hours here just walking around and reading everything, even just sat relaxing. Great place for dogs to come and run about, even children and it was fun watching the sky divers. i'd love to revisit here in the future. (For anyone wondering, you pay for the small middle part over the bridge, all the outer bits you can walk around for free)

Beautiful views of the surrounding area and the town of Salisbury. You can see the cathedral clearly from one of the walls. Lots of history related to kings of the past. Highly recommend if you’re a tourist buff and it doesn’t take too long to explore.

Incredible, eerie, lovely place to take an autumn walk. Literally layers upon layers of history. Hiking around the perimeter of the hillfort is a must for the beautiful views across Salisbury and the Wiltshire countryside.

Nice little wonder around was surprised that it was free with our Cadw membership If you are turning up you know what to expect but was definitely worth a vist. Another pile of stones listed hahaha

Plenty of parking, free to cadw, English heritage, and historic Scotland. Very Busy even at 10am. Free Busses taking visitors down every 5 to 10 mins. And bringing back. No going on the stones. Very impressive visitors centre. Toilets, shop, cafe. All wheelchair friendly. Great audio guide app. Friendly staff. Soooo many nationalities visiting. Heard soooooo many languages. Wonderful place to visit. Better when not so many people, but over a million people visit so not any quiet time.

Stonehenge is such a fascinating and historic site, the place is visible from the road itself and is also very good for capturing photos, especially during sunrise or sunset when the light hits the stones beautifully. The visitor centre is well-organised with clear information about the history and significance of the site. Definitely a must-see spot in the UK

Fascinating experience. This place is free to visit for English Heritage and National Trust member. There is shop, cafe, toilet and exhibition at the visitor centre. Shuttle bus is available every 5 to 10 minutes to take visitor from visitor centre to the stones. But if you choose to walk to the stones and enjoy it is convenient too. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and it’s free if you are an English Heritage member or else you need to pay £3.

I didn’t go through the visitor center — instead I took a lovely, easy path through the fields. The walk was beautiful and peaceful, and it leads you right up close to Stonehenge without needing to pay. The site itself is amazing and well-kept. Totally worth it, especially if you prefer a quiet nature walk over the crowded official route.

Stonehenge is iconic for a reason—the sight of the massive stones rising from the landscape is truly impressive. The visitor centre has good information and a shuttle that takes you to the monument, making the experience smooth and well-organized. Parking is available on-site and easy to navigate, though it can get busy during peak hours. The walking trail around the stones is well laid out, offering great views from different angles. You can’t get too close, but the path still gives you plenty of opportunities for photos and quiet moments to take in the atmosphere. Overall, a memorable visit if you appreciate history, engineering, or a unique landscape.

Absolutely breathtaking! Visiting Stonehenge was such an unforgettable experience. The site is peaceful, fascinating, and has this incredible sense of history and mystery about it. Seeing it in person is completely different from photos, it really makes you stop and take it all in. The area is well maintained, the shuttle service is convenient, and the museum and exhibits add great context to what you’re seeing. We went as a family and everyone enjoyed it. Even the kids were amazed by how massive and perfectly arranged the stones are. Definitely worth the trip if can squeeze it in when visiting England! If I was local, would be cool to see during the winter and summer solstice.

Decent place to visit. 1. 30 pounds to visit is outrageous. Better to walk the trail (visitor car park to stonehedge- 30 min each way) and view for free. 2. After reaching the entrance a lad would ask if you have tickets, if you say no he will show you from where to enter the trail. 3. There's a long queue for the bus, to and fro, wait time is minimum 15 mins, walking could be quicker

What a fantastic gem of a place. The horses all have their own characters and are so well looked after. The staff here are all so friendly and knowledgeable and more than happy to spend time talking to you. There’s so much to do here for both adults and kids. We had the best time here thank you so so much.

My last visit was back in 2015 with my then 8yr old daughter, so it was only fair that I took my now 9yr old son to the same Horse Farm. It was lovely to see that it had some new improvements, but it was lovely to see it still had lots of the same things when I last visited. The horses all looked well loved and cared for, and its great to offer activities and mini history sessions to teach the new generations of the importance of our horses and how they helped Shape the world we live in today. My son loved the same things as my daughter, feeding the horses, riding the pedal go-cart, petting the rabbits and reading and listening to the history of the horses. It was a shame we didn’t get to go on a horse and cart ride, but that was our fault as we didn’t arrive til 12:30pm and with it being the summer holidays. The staff were all friendly, the main man, who seemed to be here there and everywhere was great, I believe it was the same gentleman who let my daughter sit in the front of the horse and cart ride. The facilities were clean and reasonable. We didn’t eat here, but the cakes looked good. Easy to find and lots of parking spaces. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit again and will continue to recommend it to anyone who is holidaying in the area. I also got a lovely head hug from UNO 🥰

A really good, fun day out. We took our daughter for her 2nd birthday and we all loved it. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and full of fascinating information and you can tell they have a genuine passion for the animals. It was great to step back in time and see the vintage machinery, the old farm ways and the world war Mockups. All related to horses through the years. What was really nice was the free rides and games dotted about and refreshing that there wasn't an extra fee for these. There is a western themed cafe with a really good choice of food and kids menu and the portions are really generous. I had the ploughman's and was not disappointed. We spent a full day here and will definitely come back to this hidden gem.

A Wonderful Day at Dorset Heavy Horse Centre From the moment we arrived, the warmth and friendliness of the staff made us feel completely at ease. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they do. A special mention goes to Richard, the owner, whose deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the heavy horses truly brought the experience to life. His informative talks added so much value and made the visit both educational and enjoyable. The entire day was a delight—peaceful, well-organised, and full of charm. Whether you're an animal lover, a history enthusiast, or just looking for a pleasant countryside escape, this place ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone wanting a unique and memorable outing.

Really excellent. My 3 year old loved it and was entertained for nearly 4 hours. The day was well rhought through choreographed with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff offering a variety of talks and activities. Although the horses are the star attraction, there's other animals and things to do in the old way tgat is becoming a lost art. Spoiler alert, you'll leave feeling a lot better than when you enter.

The Farm was well worth a visit. The heavy horses are beautiful and it was worth going just to see them. The talks were interesting and informative. The WW1 trench was unexpected but educational. There are a lot of play areas and animals for children to enjoy and it is certainly a place I would take grandchildren if I had them! We turned up on spec and had no problem getting in, however we were warned that the previous day coach parties filled the place up. So, I would book in advance in the future.

I’d definitely recommend this place for families with little children, children can feed animals & brush ponies’s hair, wagon ride, & tractor ride, & so much more activities. They also have a very sweet staff with so much information about different kinds of horses, breeding, & wagon history. if i were the owner i’d add pony rides for double fun. & thanks again everyone was so sweet 🙏🏻 Love from Kuwait 🇰🇼❤️

Great pay out on a diverse range of fun machines. After getting what I wanted, I tried to get rid of my remaining 2p coins, only to come out with 2 more prizes!

I like coming here with my partner to play pinball, however the machines are set-up completely incorrectly! Currently, there are 3 positioned in the corner all at an angle. There’s only room for one person to play a machine at a time, otherwise you’re bumping shoulders. I also wish they’d kept some of their older cabs from days gone. Getting rid of Sega Rally was a huge mistake!

I liked it here, deffo not that cheap, most games has really short rounds and to continue playing after you die you need to add more coins, but it is like any other arcade hall. I thought they had a good selection of games racing Sims and shooters. Even some cooler simulations, claw machines and other classics etc... make sure to bring cash as the card machine there charges you £1.99 to take out cash. But if you have any notes they trade them for coins for free. Most machines take contactless with a few exceptions.

Fantastic place to take the kids, we spent a lot of time playing all the machines and enjoying the whole pier area, I needed help while in the amusements with directions and places to go so I asked a worker within the amusements called Kevin, he was brilliant! He was very kind and helpful and helped me with all my questions regarding the area. He even told me of local eateries and places to take the kids within the Bournemouth area. I totally recommend visiting this area of Bournemouth

Absolutely rammed, 2p machines didn't have a lot of prizes in when we got there so maybe they don't refill them quickly enough. The pier itself was closing by 6pm which is weird for the middle of the summer holidays.

I loveeee this arcade!! It’s great! Everything is really cheap- most of the games are £1 and there’s a mixture of coins and contactless so there’s something for everyone. Great variety of games as well! When I’m back in Bournemouth I’m going straight there 👾🕹️!!

Great oceanarium to see a large variety of sea creatures including sharks penguins and a giant turtle! There is a small kids area halfway round for a little break and a couple of cafes with small areas to eat. It is a bit of an odd layout and there can be a bit of a wait for the lift to get to the buggy park. Having the tunnel to see the sharks being fed is great fun. It took us about 1.5 hours to go round and listen to one of the talks.

I went to the oceanarium for their shark feeding experience and it was so much fun! The guide, Lucas, was very nice and explained the whole process very well. After the experience I walked around the rest of the oceanarium and the place as a whole is very interesting with a lot of animals I haven't seen at other aquariums or ocenariums. Over all a fantastic place to visit!

A visit to Bournemouth Aquarium proved you can spend time while making the most of the town, making it an excellent choice for families particularly those with young children. The compact yet thoughtfully designed space offers an engaging mix of marine life and educational content, ideal for a half-day excursion regardless of the weather.Accessibility is a standout feature: a dedicated pram park, full wheelchair compatibility, and clear stair routes ensure smooth navigation for all visitors. The staff are courteous, well-informed, and deliver informative feeding talks throughout the day, adding real value to the experience. A Blue Light discount is also available, which is a welcome gesture. Minor areas for improvement include inconsistent hand sanitiser availability and a need for slightly better overall cleanliness. The on-site café offers convenient refreshments but has limited seating and premium pricing. The small indoor play area caters well to toddlers but feels restrictive for children aged 7 and above.Crowds build quickly, and some viewing areas can feel cramped during peak times. Visiting early or on a weekday will provide a more relaxed and immersive experience.Verdict: A well-executed, family-friendly attraction with strong educational value and thoughtful accessibility. Minor operational tweaks would elevate it further such as more interactions and more sea life. Highly recommended especially for little ones.

I just wanted to take the time and probably ramble a little on how amazing Chris was with my son when we came for the penguin experience. It was my son’s 10th birthday present, so had a lot of high expectations. A little back story my son Nicholas fell in love with penguins at Bournemouth oceanarium and had a small penguin teddy since he was a baby. And his love has just grown over the years. When I saw that you had this experience I knew it would an amazing present for him. I want sure what to expect but still what expectation I did have were far exceeded!! Chris was amazing, friendly, kind and patient. His knowledge was mind blowing and we learnt so much. You can honestly see and feel the love and care Chris has for all the animals you have. This is a great day out! Loads to learn and see and the team are amazing!

We went for the Penguin Keeper Experience and it was incredible and so worth the money!! Chris was friendly and he was amazing at showing us around, teaching us things and giving us the best experience possible, thank you. We got a private tour of the aquarium, got to feed the fish and otters and most importantly got a lot of time with the penguins. It was such a fun date morning and I would highly recommend ! 🐧

Loved every minute here. At first apprehensive about comming as ut looks small but dont let that deceive you. It's got loads to see and do here with many educational boards and things to do. Loved the penguins and the shark tunnel. The jellies were cool to see to and the cute kids play area too. Located on thr beach iys a lovely little side quest of your at the beach or just passing through. Staff were helpfull and kind.

I really liked this place! When it was suggested that we visit I was sceptical as I am in my 50's and thought this would just be for the kids. In the end I spent over 3 hours here- looking at the penguins , sharks, fish and other creatures that were there. They all seem to be will looked after, and I thought it was really worth the entrance fee.

A heritage railway mostly run by enthusiastic volunteers. From the beautiful Victorian seaside town of Swanage stopping at numerous stops that includes Corfe Castle.

For me was the one attraction in the area I wanted to visit on our holiday and it didn't disappoint. A long time since I went on a steam/heritage railway but this was by far one of the best I've been to. The stations and carriages were all in noticeably great condition, with the stations decorated in the 'golden age of steam' fashion - they look great. It's gets busy, we got the 1040hrs train out of Norden and we were lucky to get a seat so get there early - there is a luggage carriage for wheelchairs/buggies Tickets can be bought online, on the platform or with the ticket inspector, kids under 5 go free (!) and adults were a very reasonable £18 open return. Journey to Swanage took about 20 mins and was very picturesque with a great view of Corfe Castle. The numerous return journies allows for ample time exploring Swanage. There are various museums at the different stations to explore and a shop at Swanage station. Staff were very helpful and a pleasure to see being so enthusiastic about working there - certainly added to the experience.

Fantastic piece of heritage well preserved by the excellent staff members, everything is kept to clean and tidy and it was a pleasure to be a passenger on. Every time we visit this area we will support this piece of English heritage.

Could be a lovely visit, if you are not disabled, avoid if you are, no parking facilities for disabled, car park 3/4 of a mile from the station. Absolutely disgusted, The trains might be 19th century, we are n now in the 21st. Never again

Absolutely wonderful return trip to Swanage from Corfe Castle. Our little dog hadn’t travelled on any train before and they made a fuss of him which he loved. Scenery is stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff have to be commended because they were so friendly and obviously enjoyed their work. I think many are volunteers? If so that’s amazing!

Brilliant day out kids loved it prices very reasonable

Lovely afternoon out, specially good if the weather isn’t beach worthy. The staff are always friendly, the trains are clean and a joy to watch, and ride in. I have taken to riding to Corfe, having a pub lunch and riding back again (not having to park in Corfe is always a plus). UPDATE: If you're here at Christmas, go on the light spectacular trip. Great evening, whether with or without kids. And finally, nothing to do with this train, but made me smile...... Did you know reading between the lines can be dangerous, specially if you’re at a train station.

We have visited the festival of light for a few years and this year’s has been our best experience yet! The lights were very well thought out and we thought that the theme was fantastic! The animals on the drive round safari were also more active than usual which was brilliant too.

Brilliant day out! So much to do and see here. Especially if you visit when the lanterns are out. The animals were all well looked after and settled in their enclosures. We went through the safari twice as the animals were just incredible! Would love to visit again soon!

Festival of lights is incredible! We had a lovely day at the drive through safari and a wonderful evening taking in the wonderful lights. This is the 4th time I have been to a festival of lights and this was by far the best one!

Great family day out with the choice to opt out of the safari should you wish. Plenty for children to do to keep them occupied and the Bat Cave is a great experience too.. The Festival of Light is becoming an annual visit for us and we love the different themes each year. This year's Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run went down a storm with the children..🥰

We were at longleat for the festival of lights and enjoyed a full day exploring the park including the jungle cruise and safari bus. There was plenty to see and do one of the favourites was the bat cave and on both trips the staff were very helpful and informative. In the evening we enjoyed an amazing light festival and Christmas stalls.

Wow!!!! What an amazing day. Can't wait to do it again some time. The whole day had the wow factor. The safari was amazing, the light festival exceeded our expectations. We were able to take our own food, we could navigate the day at our own pace. So much to see, good variety of animals to see and up close too. Not too over crowded, loved the big tent for children to do activities in, sit down and relax on bean bags without having to pay additional charges, good value for money and will definitely recommend. A wonderful treat for the family.

Such wow factor. Everything was great. A bit busy and wet onThe Saturday but Friday was lovely and relaxed. We saw soooo many animals up close and the Farmhouse is stunning. We will be back!

Fantastic family day out! The monkeys and apes are so happy and clearly very well cared for. Food and drinks are reasonably priced but you could take your own picnic. Monkey world is even better than we expected.

At first I was a bit reticent coming here as I thought it was a zoo but turned out it’s a rescue centre. I was surprised to see how spacious their space is and how many toys they have. It seems like they take good care of them which is good. The monkeys seemed to be happy too. It was great to see them all! The park is huge and you can spend half a day or more if you take your time.

Well what can I say, this is a great attraction and by visiting you will hear some sad stories about how the apes and monkeys have been treated while at the same time doing good by providing money to keep the monkeys in food and 5* accommodation. The staff are very knowledgeable and answer all your questions, thank god for people like this that have a passion the welfare of all the apes and monkeys in their care. Please go and visit this place is open all year round apart from Christmas Day . Thank you monkey word for what you do.

Had a great day out at monkey world. We were lucky that the weather was so good and the park so quiet. You can't can't escape the fact that these beautiful animals aren't in the wild - with infinite space around them - but they also wouldn't be alive. The space they have feels generous - and engaging for them to have fun. Monkey World treads a delicate line carefully - and has created an educational and enjoyable day out. We watched monkeys play and interact not just with each other but with us too. They are incredible to watch. Good job Monkey World. Keep doing a great job.

Excellent. I went with family who watch the show every evening. We all throroughly enjoyed it. It was a lot more walking than we all thought but there was so much to see. We listed to a chimpanzee talk and you can really tell how much all the staff care about the animals they have. All of the enclosures looked clean and tidy but in a natural monkey sort of way! My only moan is that the map is terrible. I could not figure out the map at all. There were other people who struggled to as they asked me for help! Worth the visit. There were lots of play areas for kids and the big one (I think it's called the orangutan park maybe) looked great. Plenty of space for picnics and for little ones to run around. A great day out.

This brought back such wonderful memories of visiting here with my grandparents when I was small. There are so many different monkeys across a pretty large park. There were lots of children around and they all seemed to be enjoying it, just as I did when I was young. I definitely recommend coming to monkey world for a fun filled day out.

Our Daughter has always wanted to visit Monkey World, so not to disapoint her, as She still had a Weeks Holiday left from work, Me and My Wife Decided to journey to Poole from North Wales, booked into a Travel Lodge for a few nights, and it was a very enjoyable experience for the three of us. It was a very Hot Day, lots of walking, but there's a few kiosks where you can get Cold Treats. Plenty to see, and amuse you too. Yes, would recommend visiting this Wonderful place. Good parking facilities too.

The Tank Museum is an amazing place to spend time with the family. There’s so much to see — from historic tanks to interactive exhibits — and it’s both educational and entertaining for all ages. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making the visit even better. It’s very easy to get to, with plenty of parking available. You’ll definitely want to allow at least three hours to explore everything properly. Highly recommended!

We visited midweek during the October half term school holidays with our 8 year old twins, was worried that with them not being self pronounced armoured fighting vehicle fans, that they may not be entertained for much longer than say 30mins, as last time I visited was a little less than half a century ago! 😳 And it was very bare bones... I needn't have worried the place has grown exponentially, the car park was full, but inside it felt comfortably spacious with loads to do for a very excitable pair of monkeys, who grew more and more interested in what they were seeing. There are loads of looped films explaining the ins and outs of Tank design, Tanks through the ages, Tanks in the movies! You name it there was something for everyone who even has a modicome of interest in the subject. Would highly recommend with over 350 tanks on site of every size and shape and some over a hundred years old! loads to do and see! And a fab gift shop to boot with gifts and toys to suit every pocket! A fab day out had by all, we even saw some real modern tanks driving on the roads outside the museum as its in an active army camp! 5*

Perfect for both tank enthusiasts and those who just enjoy a good museum with lots of physical things to see. The museum is well deserved of its legendary status amongst the military enthusiast community. I’d say it is very child friendly with lots of space, things to do and see as well as an extremely reasonably priced canteen. I went in a day when the Tamiya hall was closed, although entirely my fault due to it being the remembrance weekend. Despite this I still felt I had a lovely time and felt I had seen a lot. I will certainly be back, especially due to the ticket sale lasting for 12 months.

I've been meaning to go for several years now, it was absolutely fantastic everything I dreamed of and more! Getting up close and personal with past giants of military machinery. The variety of tanks on show are breathtaking especially for me the WW2 tanks seeing a tiger 1&2 Vs what the allied forces had to try and combat the German behemoth's. Worth every penny will love to visit over and over again.

This is an absolutely fantastic museum, even if you aren’t particularly fussed on the military. The history, facts, exhibits and children’s activities are amazing! We visited as a family with an 7 old and a 2 year old and spent around 5 hours here. Tickets are cheaper if you book in advance and you can take your own food and drink in as well. The staff were amazing with our 7 year old who has sensory issues, they pointed out the louder parts of the exhibit and they do offer sensory backpacks for the way round. It doesn’t feel cramped either and there is plenty of space for toddlers to wander around. The exhibits themselves are great, essentially takes you from the first tank ever made through to modern day tanks. A big emphasis on WW2 and it was nice to see that there was exhibits on some of the smaller known battles of the war as well as the more obvious parts such as D-Day. There is a walk around the trenches and a part dedicated to horses in the war, both of which are brilliantly done. There are little activities the whole way round such as bunkers with tunnels, mock ups of houses from the war and dress up areas for kids. Probably the best museum I’ve been to in terms of the exhibits and the value for money. If you are on the fence I would say just go, both kids and adults will love it.

Absolutely enormous collection of armour This museum is well run and laid out. It is easy to wander around and see all the "exhibits". Easy to read and informative placards were well placed. Very, very clean. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Demonstrations took place with an M24 Chaffee, the M4E8 Fury and Dingo. A ride on the M548 transporter was an enjoyable experience (if a bit short). Spent over 4 hours on site and could easily have spent more time there. Will return in the future to see what else they are restoring.

Had an absolutely awesome day at the Tank Museum. It is a veritable treasure trove of tanks, with accompanying historical displays, informational boards, and interactive exhibits. The museum is incredibly well thought out. The large free car park leads past a small playground, to the entrance point. This then has a ramp up to the display halls, of which there are several. These are broken up and themed across the history of tanks, and naturally draw your attention to the star of the display, including Tiger 131. The usual museum facilities are all present and correct. The restaurant is reasonably priced, and the food was really good. The Tanks in Action display at 1pm is essential viewing. I'd recommend a picnic blanket to sit on, but it is a highlight of the day. I really can't recommend the museum enough, it was great, and tanks are cool!!! 😎

We had a fabulous day out at Stourhead. The views and walks were amazing. The house was also so interesting! Unfortunately I can't rate it a 5 star this time as the lake had blue-green algae (lots of good warning signage though) and the flower beds and gardens were looking very dry and a bit unkempt. We will definitely visit again in Spring!

Lovely walk around a lake. Easy access and nice views. Busier than expected at October half term. Good setting off point for other walks outside the grounds of Stourhead house. Large car park, pub (check opening times), farm shop.

One of the most beautiful places ive visited recently, the architecture and the scenery is just amazing, absolutely perfect for a family to visit or walk the dog . Stourhead estate on the Wiltshire-Somerset border is the perfect day out for everyone. A breathtaking 18th century landscape garden with lakeside walks, grottoes and classical temples is only the beginning. You can also visit Stourhead House, a Palladian mansion with a fantastic regency library and beautiful art collection. Then why not climb the 205 steps to the top of King Alfred's Tower, an amazing red-brick folly, for vistas over Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, or explore one of our Iron Age hill forts.

We went on a weekend in October and there were queues to get in, but once on the grounds it didn't feel too busy at all. The autumnal colours made made the scenery all that more stunning. If you don't want to grab a sit down meal before or after your walk, I'd recommend packing a picnic

Excellent place for a day out, lots of things to see! Definitely one of my favourite National Trust places so far, highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a lovely day at stourhead visiting with my parents. The National trust House and gardens was really well set up. Probably the best National trust House and gardens for children to visit - obviously have to be careful of them around the lakes but lots of interesting things for them to do and see including in the house. The house itself you could only see downstairs which was slightly disappointing but the bits that you could see were really impressive - that included interesting architecture plus an extensive set of paintings, the furniture and the library outstanding from my perspective. The volunteers were really enthusiastic and explained about the different rooms and previous owners of the building. The house gardens and lakes are of course also very photogenic. The walk around the lakes takes about an hour we stopped on occasion because it was very hot to look inside the different grottos and buildings around the lake. Most of the refreshments and facilities are up near the house so it's worth getting ready for the walk. There are some steep cobbled sections which can be slippery in wet weather. We found a photographic exhibition was very interesting actually displayed in the gardens of the house.

Second time visiting, but in the rain which was different altogether, in a good way. Lots of features to look at when walking the vast grounds and the house is interesting, full of beautiful books and furniture as well as paintings with hidden features. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent beach, dog’s allowed on west beach only until 30th September, plenty of parking but at £4.80/hr near the sea front a bit expensive, if you are prepared to walk it is cheaper near the swannery car park. Plenty of shop’s, cafe’s, etc. Worth a visit

Lovely area, we attend the motocross annually and always great atmosphere and brilliant stalls with plenty of food options. Shops and easy parking nearby, handy disabled spaces down the seafront.

Weymouth Beach is a beautiful and clean seaside spot with soft pebbles and clear waters. The gentle waves and scenic views make it perfect for a peaceful walk or relaxing by the shore. The promenade nearby adds to the charm with plenty of cafés and ice cream stalls. A lovely place to enjoy the classic English seaside atmosphere!

One of many amazing beaches on the Dorset coast, not as easy to find a parking space unless you use the car parks either end of the beach or use the park and ride from outside the town. Once there the lovely well looked after beaches are so beautiful and through the summer many families enjoy and use the many amenities for souvenirs and snacks to evening meals with plenty of restaurant choice. It has a all year dog friendly beach either side of main beach and dog friendly everywhere after 30th September. The harbour and Nothe fort walks are amazing too.

I really enjoyed our walk on the beach. Wide open beach, plenty of cafes and restarants, arcades and friendly people all around. We were there in October so I can imagine it is gets very busy in summer But I would recommend going off peak

We went in late october. Drizzling with rain on and off but it is still gorgeous there. Lovely long sandy beach. Dogs are allowed. And just crossed the road to shops and cafe.

We visited Wells Cathedral on the recommendation of a former Wells Cathedral School student, and we enjoyed our time immensely. On entry one is struck by the magnificent 14th Century Scissors Arches that support the tower, then as one looks at the walls, that the cathedral is almost completely Early English Gothic style. Intricate carvings, some amusing (a man working to remove a thorn from his foot, someone with a toothache) are found everywhere. An amazing 14th Century astronomical clock - the second oldest in England - still works and marks quarter hours with a figure named Jack Blandifers striking bells with his hand and both feet while a set of knights on horseback joust each other. The north side of the cathedral holds the Chapter House, an absolutely stunning octagon with soaring fan vaulting and terrific acoustics. Outside, the West Front, which contains about 300 sculpted figures is currently undergoing restoration work, and because of this, much of the surface is hidden behind scaffolding while the stonemasons do their bit. Practical details: Admission when we visited was £15.00, with kids free. One can also purchase a Joint Ticket that includes entry to the adjacent Bishop’s Palace and Gardens. There is a nice café and well-stocked gift shop. Volunteer “Highlights” tours are available, and we spent an excellent hour with Mark. Parking was initially a bit of a challenge, but we eventually found space along side the Cathedral Green. Other parking options are available nearby.

Situated at one of the quietest towns in western England. The cathedral is an architectural marvel. Every inch of the walls tells you story from ancient to medieval history of the Christianity. A beautiful place where tranquility meets serenity.

This is a must see if you are in the area. The cathedral is lovely in all aspects. Make sure to do a docent tour, of which there are several. These volunteers have a wealth of knowledge, a good sense of humor, and will teach you many things. The architecture, furnishings, and artistry are evident everywhere in this fabulous cathedral.

At the foot of the Mendips Hills lies the charming town of Wells, famous primarily for its magnificent Cathedral Church of St. Andrew. In 705, an abbey was built on the site of a Roman mausoleum; the baptismal font from this abbey is still in use and is thus the oldest surviving object in the cathedral. In 909, the abbey church became the seat of Athelm, the first Bishop of Wells, a role the cathedral has fulfilled since 1245. Construction of the current cathedral began around 1180 and was completed in 1306. However, the building immediately proved too small, so work began on the cathedral extension, which was completed in 1490. Due to the various construction phases, the church also features various Gothic styles. The first phase is characterized by the Early English Gothic style, the second by the Decorated Gothic style, and the towers are in the Perpendicular Gothic style. The church was damaged twice, during the English Civil War and the Monmouth Rebellion, but the damage was repaired each time. In the mid-19th and late 20th centuries, the cathedral underwent a major restoration, allowing the 300,000 visitors who visit annually to admire the building in all its splendor. Wells Cathedral: an unmissable highlight of ecclesiastical architecture!

This is the best cathedral in Europe wish I could go every day to wells. the clock inside is very good. Must be a lot of work & cost to keep it going

Stunning piece of history which is so accessible to all. Situated in the centre of Wells, in amongst so many places to see. For me one of the highlights of the West country. So great

Beautiful cathedral, we very much enjoyed looking round, so much to see . The weather was not on are side, but we did look outside and up.

What an amazing place, thought it would just be planes on display, which it is, but there's way more to it than that ! There are four halls, the first is mainly Wessex helicopters and these are big !!! There's bullet holes in one from the Falklands conflict, you walk through to Hall 2 with some amazing aircraft including a Sea Vixen, Gruman and you can sit in a Vampire cockpit which we should all do, you are never to old to do that ! These planes are huge, theres also a viewing area of the airfield where you may see planes and helicopters. Walking through to Hall 3, via a helicopter where the floor vibrates and the sound fills the compartment, you exit onto an aircraft carrier... its just ...wow ! The Phantom looks ready to go, the Harrier is locked, loaded and you can see the command bridge. There's a lift which had a video display about life below deck, and so many models of carriers and the supporting vessels. You the walk through the decking of a 70's carrier which is simply brilliant. There's see through video screens which activate as you approach and you get people telling you about their roles, its so good. Finally ..Hall 4 has Concorde, what's not to love about Concorde 002, you can walk through her, theres a Fairy Delta 2.. which was at one stage the fastest aircraft on earth. Its simply a brilliant day out... there's also a lovely cafe ... so get yourself there, no matter how young or old you are !

We visited the Fleet Air Arm Museum earlier in the day, which was a smart move as it was nice and quiet. The staff at the entrance were friendly, welcoming, and gave us great advice on the best route to take. The museum itself is brilliantly laid out, with each hall flowing naturally into the next. You really get the chance to move around the aircraft and see them up close—it feels immersive rather than just a display. The collection is fantastic, giving you a real sense of the Fleet Air Arm’s history. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to make navigation in the aircraft carrier hangar a little clearer—it’s an impressive, well-designed exhibit, but we found ourselves slightly turned around at first. That said, it didn’t affect our enjoyment one bit. Overall, this is a superb museum: fascinating, hands-on, and excellent value for money. I’d absolutely recommend a visit—100%!

Great place to visit. Worth the price. Definitely buy the tickets online as they’re cheaper. There’s lots to walk round. You can walk into helicopters and planes. Staff are super friendly

An incredible collection in an absorbing and appropriate setting. Easy to gt to by road with plenty of parking once you get there. Beware the A303 can be a bit manic in high Summer traffic. Leave a whole day for t=your visit as there is plenty to read and just look at whether adult of children. You don't need a Naval background to get the best out of your visit, but listening to veterans chatting about their experiences certainly adds atmosphere. A good selection of things to buy as mementos and space to enjoy your own picnic to the sound of the nearby airfield HMS Heron, RNAS Yeovilton if you prefer. A visit to the on site cafe lets you chat and decide what to look at again.

We 'popped' in to break a journey back home from holiday. Thinking it would only be an hour or so...three hours later and we had to go to continue our journey. To give justice to the place you need a good 4-5 hours. It's absolutely amazing and I think it's all indoors as well because we didn't get to see it all. Even with our shorter visit it was well worth the entrance fee.

See if you can ..Find the photo booth 😉 good fun .( There is a charge but only if you print off) The Food and drinks area was clean and prices were average for this type of place ( Nice pot of tea👍). Based at RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset, just a short drive from Yeovil, the Fleet Air Arm Museum is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and families . Housing Europe’s largest collection of naval aircraft, including Concorde 002, Harriers, and helicopters, the four halls chronicle the Royal Navy’s aerial history from biplanes to modern jets. Knowledgeable and friendly staff as well.

Our first time here and it did not disappoint! £20 for our tickets was completely worth it, there was so much to do! I took my 2 year old boy and he thoroughly enjoyed it, buggy park is at the beginning for any families, so take bags with you for the kids so it saves you heading back there to collect them (I left everything on the pram) not realising there isn’t enough space for them. The caves are something else and was an experience, so gorgeous and so much to learn about. Can be rather slippy and muddy so wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Some places you do have to duck and walk under due to low ceilings so take this into account if wanting to visit. Always being sturdy and strong on your feet too, I almost slipped and there is a lot of stairs! So much for children to do, my son was kept occupied the whole day we were there; 10:30 - 2:30! Highly recommend and we will be visiting again, it rained the whole day for us and didn’t ruin it at all!

The cave tour was great, with a small enough group you could still see and hear well. Only a couple of places where you had to drop low for height clearance. Good grip footwear/sensible shoes recommended. The rest of wookey hole was aimed mainly at kids with a dinosaur park, mini golf and amusements amongst the offerings. The cafe by the golf course was awful though. Cold coffee from the machines, very limited food offerings and the smell was less than pleasant. All 'hot' drinks were discarded. Staff were very friendly and professional.

Loved Wookey hole. Stayed at the lodges by the hotel, which were nice. The caves were great to go down into and the guide was informative. When you go back outside, there's a dinosaur wilderness which is good for little kids. We did the 4D cinema which was entertaining. If the weather hadn't been so bad, we would have done the crazy golf. But saying that, the weather added to the atmosphere, so didn't dampen out spirits. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic day out, great value for money, so interesting & informative with the history. The circus was ok though a big well done to the young ladies who performed. 4D cinema was fun ( though effects were slightly out of sync) little amusement inside was good, great array old fashioned amusement machines. Crazy golf was fun but gets busy.Food & drink available here or bring your own. It was well worth the drive from Shropshire.

Excellent caves but aren't for unsuitable for people who have disabilities due to uneven surfaces,loads of steps & a number of low ceilings heights. The views are stunning & there are a lot of things you can do in the caves. When you exit them you walk through a prehistoric area with animated dinosaurs, great for the kids. There's also a 4D cinema experience, circus( acrobats), mini golf, arcades ,(all included in the admission ticket.) & gift shop. There is a restaurant/cafe for food & drinks although choice is a little restricted.

Lovely time spent here, caves took approx 45 minutes with a guide giving lots of info. There is a 4D cinema and a circus 🎪 (weekends and school holidays). There is lots to do for children here.

We had a brilliant day, there is so much to do! Caves are great, 4D cinema was brilliant and my children loved the theatre. It’s really good value for money, having adventure golf included! We would definitely visit again

Lovely little harbour surrounded by fish n chips and icecream huts etc..West bay beach is stunning. Great for families but as a solo hiker, I prefer somewhere a little less busy.

This is a great place to sit, chill and unwind. Views are spectacular and stunning 😍 Plenty of amenities close by, with pubs, restaurants, tea, coffee, just great!!! Great food available right near to where you could sit a d chill! Very romantic setting as the sun goes down! It's a "must visit place!"

Nice little harbour with plenty of benches to sit down and have your picnic or food from one of the food huts we had small cod and chips and a tea really nice.

Nice harbour at West Bay with south west coastal walks on both sides. Good place to stop for food, coffee, ice cream, toilets, etc.

Stopped here on a coach day trip on the way to Swanage. It's a lovely town with a lovely market and lots of nooks and crannies down by the Custom House. Well worth a visit.

Bridport is a thriving community with always lots going on

Beautiful spot, a really lovely garden to walk around. Would definitely go back. 5 stars for the garden, 3.5 for the food. We went to the cafe, only a few vegan options, I have a very nice pea soup, the bread though was very dry. Husband had beetroot falafel salad and he was sure they were cauldron (brand) ones, not freshly made. Overall though, nice spot for lunch, good service and fairly priced

Our visit to the Hestercombe House and Gardens was a good morning visit just off M5. Currently being renovated it still offers an insight into the past of the house and previous uses, ground floor and couple rooms upstairs available, outside a good garden and walk through woods. Grounds a little parched after heatwave ( End of August) and need of TLC. Good restaurant on site with nice meals.

A stunning garden with accessible routes for most abilities. Enjoyed a beautiful sunny autumn walk, rounded off with lunch in the cafe. I look forward to seeing how the Hestercombe team redevelop the house if the quality of the gardens are the gauge!

Hestercombe House and Gardens is a beautiful place to visit. The gardens are stunning, with small houses, lakes, and hidden paths through the woods. It was lovely to wander with friends before heading to the café for delicious food. The staff were very friendly, and I would highly recommend visiting.

Called in on our way home from Cornwall as it breaks the journey up. Only 10 minutes from junction 25 of the M5 and fairly straightforward to get here. We arrived around 11am and it was quite busy but still able to get a space.. Headed to cafe and had a nice pot of tea and cheese scone..(scone nice and warm but butter was too hard to spread,needed to soften first).scummy though. We then visited the house and we're greeted by some friendly ladies who gave us some information sheets to read on the brief history of the house. Most of the rooms are empty from furniture but their are display cabinets with items to view and loads of pictures and history facts to read. We walked the gardens at the front of house and then headed round past the orangery and walked all the way to the top of vast rear gardens and back down the other side which is higher up and you can look down from above the water cascade ,which unfortunately this time had no water running down for full impact..quite rough and steep in places but not too bad .

Perfect place to go with a little one and dog when you aren't sure what to do and are in the area. Great for a little picnic and perfect views. Even on the cloudiest day its still beautiful.

We enjoyed our day out at Hestercombe and our dog felt welcome too. The cafe served a good variety of food that well priced. My partner had the falafel salad and I had the first finger open sandwich that were well presented and tasty. We went back after seeing the beautiful gardens for hot drinks and tasty cake. You can go to the cafe without going into the gardens if you wish

This attraction is so fun for everyone no matter your age. We visited with my Husband and had so much fun riding the tramways. The ride is around the countryside and the natural reserve with birds all around that are flying just above your head if you’re seated upstairs. It’s so beautiful! There’s few stops if you want to explore and coming back later. But there’s one where everyone has to come out in a small village. There’s a cafe, toilets and a souvenir shop. You can take the same tramway right away for the return or wait a bit to try another one. We tried a different tramway for the way back and decided to sit upstairs. It’s way more fun in our opinion but it’s nice to experience both. If you love old vehicles like ourselves you need to do it!

I don't give 5 stars often. Realy Nice . We started at the other end first as parking was realy good. (Furthest from Seaton ) im rubbish at remembering names. Getting there .... Trouble was we went the country road way to it . Hahahha blimey 🤣 . I think my sat nav was against me and used the narrowest roads out. City boys to Country Side folk . We do 60 on dual carriageway and can see infront they do that with hedges hitting each wing mirror blindfolded hahahha. We went in the wrong end so missed the sign posts. But thats part of the adventure isn't it. You must try Seaton Tramway. The staff are volunteers and passionate . We took our best mate and she was so welcome and of course had to sit downstairs 😀. There's an area on route where dogs are not allowed but you can understand why. We had a unlimited ticked but just used it to the end and back but best buy. Now we wished we stopped off some stops. Do it relax with the train track sound and enjoy the view. Our best mate was not sure what was happening on way but enjoyed the wind , but on the journey on the way back she was snoring 😴 😀 loved it

Lovely way to ride into Seaton. Caught the tram from the Clayton station and went passed some lovely sites. Wetlands looked an interesting stop but thought we'd carry straight onto Seaton and ran out of time to stop on the way back. Staff and facilities are brilliant. Highly recommended way to travel unto Seaton if you're visiting for a day.

Love it, we do a trip every autumn and enjoy the experience ever time, plus the dog can come to as she is welll behaved. A walk down to the end of the beach path and a great cafe awaits you with home made soup and delicious cakes.

Ride one of 14 trams in the fleet for three miles in one direction and back. A rover ticket allows you all day hoping on and off at any station. Dogs can ride but cant visit the nature reserve. Mind your head when on the trams as they are smaller than you think, but interesting.

Seaton Tramway is built on the old British Rail track bed and uses half size trams. Its good for families, bird watchers and just for a ride. Plenty of events throughout the year. Make sure you have time to visit tge Wetlands centre, Colyford and Colyton.

This is a great tram trip. Seaton to Colyton £16 for a day return journey, travel as much as you like and get on and off en route to visit bird hides in the nature reserve or have a great meal at Colyton Tram Cafe. The trams are beautiful pieces of history, whole enterprise is well managed and maintained. We loved the commentary. A great day despite the rain!

Great place. Definitely recommend coming here. Free entry and you can donate to help out. Donkeys were lovely and funny when one started issues with another donkey for smelling poo. They do sound like they have sore throats from all the noises they make 😂. Beautiful place tho and good clean toilets

I just had to meet Walter! The donkey whom my husband had gifted an adoption from The Donkey Sanctuary. I was expecting an old fashioned set up but I was totally wrong. The entrance is modern, well kept and clean. It is all well organised and the lovely people who work and volunteer, are well informed and willing to answer questions. We sat through a lovely informative talk where we watched the donkeys like a heard of cattle go back into the main barn that had fresh hay. They are such gentle animals, well worth the visit. It caters for all ages and with plenty of car parking spaces too. Definitely would recommend

Lovely place to visit anytime of year, free entry but please get some lunch or a gift from the shop as such a great cause. Maze and play area are great for the children, cakes were very yummy and you get a large slice! Gifts for everyone and the Donkeys are just wonderful!

Wonderful example of conservancy & protection of these gentle creatures. See many donkeys living in grassy fields and close up in their pens. Great layout of viewing walks all signposted with donkey info. Children will love it. Tea rooms and lunches also served.

What a gem this is. A peaceful, tranquil site with c.200 donkeys roaming the many paddocks. Good restaurant, gift shop, educational area and things for kids including a surprisingly tricky maze. Highly recommended way to spend an afternoon, with your dogs if you like also. Just remember to donate as the place is free entry.

Amazing place to visit. Facilities are great for visitors and Donkeys! The staff are excellent. The talk at shelter 1 when we went was very interesting and also entertaining when one naughty Donkey nibbled and undid the shoelace of the handler doing the talk. I never knew Donkeys cannot take much weight at all despite everything you see on screen and TV! Its well worth a visit. Entry is free! But please donate to such a good cause. We were visiting our adopted Donkey, Ashley on the day but the walks around the massive grounds are great to do and the cafe is well worth a stop off after too!

We went bank holiday Monday. It was busy, but didn’t feel overwhelming. We’re a family of 5 and our dog came too. Lovely to have a day out and include our dog. It was lovely to wonder around and see the donkeys. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had lunch at the restaurant. Food was a reasonable price and the wait wasn’t too long. It’s lovely that the food says where it has come from and was fresh and tasty. The burgers were massive. We popped in the shop and got a toy for our dog, which she loves very much. Was happy to spend money there as it helped support the donkeys. A lovely place to visit even if you don’t spend any money. Great to learn about what they are doing to help donkeys.

Dunster Castle is magical and so incredibly beautiful. We visited it on a beautiful summer day, the kids loved the outdoor games and the bat trail activity. The castle inside is very well cared for and the gardens are a dream to explore. Highly recommend. Tickets can only be bought on site :)

Fantastic building in an amazing location. Extremely rare leather and silver leaf paintings are breathtaking. Extensive gardens; steep in parts with a great kids play area. The mill was an added bonus. Well maintained, producing and selling their own flour with a super cafe nearby.

Historically amazing place, the castle was very interesting and well looked after. We enjoyed learning about it's history. The shops however were lacking gluten free options and we had to leave early to get food elsewhere.

The village surrounding the castle is beautiful, and lovely to walk through on the way to the castle including the secret garden ran by the castle gardener. Just be aware there are some rather steep slopes to walk up. There are a few cafes that do cream tea outside the castle and also museums and shops. Once actually in the castle grounds there are also lots of slopes to walk up and down to access different areas. There is lots of information about the castle and how it came to be what it is today and also some original features. The views from the castle are wonderful and can see for miles. There is parking for the castle and also other parking nearby if needed. There is a watermill that is still operating which they use to make flour, you can also buy this in the shop as well as other local produce.

What a great place. Very well kept. Fantastic gardens all around the castle and down to the Watermill. The gardens down to the mill are fantastic for children. If you are going to see Dunster properly, it will take a good 4 hours. Great Cafe at the Mill as well, which is all in working order.

A really beautiful castle with stunning views from the top of the hill. The water mill is a must visit too and it’s a lovely stroll through the village to get there!

Look out for the secret passage! We've visited many times,we go to buy the milled oats and flour ground at the mill once or twice a week. Dunster is a lovely little place.

We took our three Grandsons, for Halloween experience . The weather was a bit chilly, so we did outdoor rides first. The twister, which was the main ride, they all wanted to go on, was closed. During the day, we thought it may reopen, but no. Very disappointed. Also the pirate ship and the other, similar ride, was also closed. It was not raining, as we thought, that may be why they weren't going. Later in the day, they did open, and we were able to go on. They all enjoyed the indoor play area. It was so busy, it took half an hour to get a seat. Could, definitely do with more seating. All in all, we all had a lovely day. Haunted house was fun. A free pumpkin on the way out, was a nice treat too. Would definitely recommend, for all ages.

The park has a wide range of activities and rides offering a lovely day out with our granddaughter. Helpful friendly staff and the Halloween Trick or Treat Trail added to the fun. There are plenty of covered areas if the weather takes a wet turn and a number of cafe/restaurants for a break. Food is on the expensive side but there's a reasonable selection and you can always take a picnic. I'm sure we'll be back with the grandchildren as there's plenty to do in a lovely safe and fun environment, that's easy to get to from the M5.

Arrived yesterday with my daughter and her two friends. We queued up on the log flume for around 45mins to then be rejected as they all needed an adult to ride on with them. Only three could ride this ride meaning I had to leave one child out. We have always been to crealy with no problem to fit four on the ride. The weather was great just a little tad cold. I raised this issue with a member of the team and told me nothing could be done about this. As of Halloween I paid high prices to enter the park and buy food which I feel this was not acceptable. The food needs improving for the amount of money you spend too. Apart from this we had a great day, but I think the money we spend was not worth the experience on this occasion.

I went with a few friends for their "late nights" on Halloween and yes we did rlly enjoy ourselves but because we couldn't get there any early then 5 we were only able to enjoy the park till 7 when they close. To me this doesn't feel like it should be classed as a late night, it's really lovely being at the park when it's dark it would've been nice just to have been there a bit longer

We did the Crealy Halloween event, it was clearly very busy. We arrived just before 10am and people were already in the park on rides so we knew we were in for some big queues. What we were unaware of were the extent of these massive queues. Over an hour for maximus, 40 mins for one scare maze, a hour for the scarecrow scare maze. Twister was on and off most of the day with at least a hour of queues. I have never seen it so busy and we usually come during the summer holidays. The scarecrow maze was a great idea but the amount of people going through at once really ruined the experience for us as the family infront got all the jump scares and we could see it all coming. Very underwhelmed with the younger children’s maze with 2 moving witches and some glow in the dark paint. The real issue came leaving the car park, over an hour we didn’t even move an inch it was pure chaos and staff were not interested at all in helping. Lots of the smaller rides indoors weren’t working, the floors in sooty land were sticky and not clean at all. We couldn’t put our one year old down as there was food that hadn’t been cleaned up. The larger soft play was also chaos, there were so many children in there it became quite unsafe - do you even have a limit on numbers in there ? Even the small soft play in the bit next door was so busy it didn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t ever attend another Halloween event there were 17 of us and we all left really disappointed.

We had a great time at Crealy over the summer holidays. All the staff were helpful and friendly. They were full of enthusiasm at the entrance especially Georgia in the ticket office, she was so warm and welcoming to the kids, nothing was too much trouble for her, she seemed genuinely happy to assist us even though the day that we went was a very busy day she didn’t let that phase her, she didn’t try and rush us through and didn’t come across stressed. All the staff were great on this particular day. We saw Georgia again on the way out and she even had time to stop us to make sure we had had a great day which I thought was very sweet. The theme park has rides to suit everyone, which is great when you have kids of different ages. We had a fab time.

Kids had fun, we thought there was more for young children and less for older. Queues could be better, the only two rollercoasters and the log flume took ages with two bored children. It wouldn't hurt to have something to keep kids busy in an hour's queue! Everyone else mentions the staff - while some were great and engaged, others really were not. Overall it was very expensive - especially for the time you then spend in a queue - but kids had fun.

Such a jolly guy to welcome us at entrance/pay desk! Very helpful and friendly. He recommended we take our time to look in detail at everything as there are lots of 'play on words' signage giving plenty of laughs! Great that the ticket price allows free entry for a week from visit. I thought £20.50 was reasonable as we spent 2 n half hours and there's lots of interesting history and information about the costs and man hours involved in the creation and production/maintenance of the models. It is constantly evolving, we really enjoyed our visit !!

This was an amazing day out. So many tiny details and so many puns. Look out for where's wally and friends! The person who designed this place was a genius. The models are all beautifully made and the landscaping is amazing. It is in a valley so you will have to walk up and downhill, however, everything is laid with concrete and there are handrails as well. I went round it with a buggy and it was fine. There are indoor parts as well including mythical kingdoms and more detailed models. The crazy golf was fun as well and is included in the ticket price. There is a coffee shop with snacks and bathrooms at the top as well. There's also baby changing areas. I would recommend going during the day to see all of the tiny details. You can return within 7 days free with your ticket. We went the following night to see the illuminations which were beautiful. I will come again next year with my family ☺️ Thank you so much to the lovely staff who made our day as well!

Now this place was a surprise, I only thought I'd be here a couple of hours....... 4 hours later, so much to see and take in, the place was alot bigger than expected, I loved it...... Even played a round of mini golf 😂. It looks like you could get to do I night time visit on special occasions (would have loved to have done that, maybe next time I'm in the area 😁). Definitely a place to visit with or without the kids.

Went there during school holidays, and we were pleasantly surprised how big and lovely this village is. Lots of interesting displays, since it was October everywhere were skeletons and other spooky things. Since we are local we also got 25% discount which was nice. Lovely little gift shop and cafe. Parking - pay and display.

Well worth going. It looks like nothing from the outside but big once inside. The quality of the exhibits is very high showing craftsmanship and a sense of humour. Entrance is from a local council car park paid on RingGo

Visited babbacombe with my partner , we both loved It, the attention to detail is crazy , you easily spend 2/3 hours there , also free crazy golf included in your admission ! Only downside and it's not the model villages fault , you have to pay for parking as it's owned by the council ( shock ) it's around £4 for 3 hours

Visited here midweek during the late August bank holiday break in Paignton. We booked in advanced and got a slight discount was around £60 odd pounds for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). The site is huge and is a lot of up and down hill so wear comfortable shoes and prepare to walk. There are loads of animals, cafes, play areas for kids to enjoy and they really had a blast. We were tired by the end but was a great family day out, would recommend you visit here if you in or near to Paignton.

A great zoo with a large verity of animals a few of which wasn’t out for you to see but it wasn’t a massive issue. You can see some of the animals quite close up like the orangutans, lions, cheetahs, baboons etc. There is a lot of inclines if you’re someone with mobility issues you may struggle but it is well worth the money you pay to get in. There is a lot of tree coverage so you’re not baking in the sun while walking around. Would definitely recommend

Amazing zoo with fantastic staff. My 2 daughters ages 8 and 13 recently had a junior zoo keeper experience and they loved every minute of it. Jake, their experience guide was extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and kept the girls engrossed for hours! Thank you Jake for a wonderful experience for the whole family!

We went on a cold damp drizzly day, so some animals weren't outside to see. Im disabled on a mobility scooter. Most of the park is accessible and robust scooters can be hired at the zoo. We were given a map and advised on the best route for mobility scooters. We ate food in the resaraunt. Food was good quality. The only fault was tables weren't cleaned so quickly so hard finding a clean table. We only had half a day here, so we zoomed round. On a nicer day and a leisurely stroll round, you coukd easily spend a whole day here. Animals get fed at certain times, so if you wish to see this, ask at entrance the timings, then you can adjust your route accordingly. We were particularly fascinated with the sloths. Never seen one in real life before, they are fun to watch. I would reccomend a visit, help support this lovely zoo to stay open.

A great day out, just enough to cover in an afternoon, with not too far between each area. A lovely range of animals of all kinds with good size enclosures for them. Lots of information available at each area. Food and drink onsite is great with a number of choices available. We stopped into the cafe area as the other ones around the zoo are closed out of high season.

A beautifully naturalistic zoo with incredibly friendly and attentive staff throughout — from the keepers to the café team, everyone made us feel welcome. My daughters had an absolute blast, and to top it off, the food and drink were reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise. A genuinely lovely day out.

Lovely zoo animals are in large enclosures. Unfortunately some of the areas were closed when we went but not the main ones. The menu was slightly limited and if you are getting food please allow more time then you would expect for quing as the que moves slowly.

We were visiting the area and thought we’d stop in to Dartmoor Zoo as they are supposed to have one of the largest collections of big cats. The zoo wasn’t as big as we thought it might be, so you could easily walk around in half a day but it was still packed full with lots to see. We met a few volunteers working at the zoo who were extremely knowledgable and obviously had a great passion for what they did. We attended some of their talks which were very interesting. It was great to see lots of the animals and big cats up close. I would have given 5* but I think certain areas of the zoo perhaps need a big of TLC, and some of the enclosures needed updating, with some of the larger animals seemingly needing bigger enclosures with more enrichment.

Great little Zoo, friendly knowledgeable staff. Don't go here expecting a massive Zoo with hundreds of animals, instead think of it as a more up close experience, the staff actually care for these animals it's not just a Saturday job so to speak, and as an added bonus they're not trying to sell you stuff every 10 paces. So why only 4 out of 5 stars I hear you ask, well....... Their coffee sucks, that is it plain and simple, you might like it I didn't. I had burger and chips from the Cafe, the burger was tasty and the chips were nice and crispy, my Mrs had Fish and Chips, the only thing she said was the fish could be a little bigger but I think we both agreed it is simple nice hot food which is all we wanted. Great job Dartmoor Zoo thank you.

This is a lovely little wildlife park, it's great for a morning or afternoon but not enough for us for the day. There's lot's of animals to see and information on them all. The staff are all so friendly. The disabled parking is inside the park up the hill. If needed you need to purchase your tickets then they will open the gates and you can drive in. There's a nice cafe selling light lunches as well as cakes. The animals all seem happy and well looked after although some of the enclosures could be larger. It does look like they are doing lots of work to improve this.

If you have a guest in a wheelchair, basically forget it. Hills all over the zoo. Parts of the pathways are not maintained, if a pathway at all. Only good part is parking for disabled, you get to park in the middle of the zoo. Animals could do with a bit more food in my opinion. Do have a variety of animals, but not many. Is great for younger children for a few hours.

A small but well kept zoo. Animals is beautiful condition- the jaguar in particular. The otters were very entertaining too. Had a lovely chat with a keeper about their newt. A shout out to the cafe team for perfectly prepared gluten free pizza that was coeliac safe! Will definitely visit again.

Had a Brilliant day at Dartmoor Zoo. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. In particular Henry knew a lot about the animals and was a lovely guy. A lot of the staff are volunteers and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. Loved dragon the tiger, he really put a good show for the visitors. Also loved the otters. It was a shame about the rainy weather but still didn’t want to leave!

Had a thoroughly lovely day today at Dartmoor Zoo with my 3 children who also had a great time. Animals all looked well looked after, the staff were very friendly and the zoo itself was very very clean. The tiger was a particular highlight as you could see it in all it's majestic glory fairly close. The birds and monkeys were also very lovely to see. Would highly recommend. We spent around 3 hours there and that felt about right and saw most things at least twice in that time. Very much looking forward to utilising the annual ticket and to go back and see anything we missed.
