Check for the clouds at around 3am before heading here to get an idea whether you can see the mountains especially the Kanchanjunga. The vehicle management needs to improve. The entire tourist population of Darjeeling will be here with atleast 300 cars on a weekday and more on the weekends. So be ready to walk a bit because your driver will prefer keeping the car at the far end to ease the departure. No official observatory here when I went in the month of October 2025. You'll have some local vendors who serve maggie and momo as well. So enjoy this place and be hopeful that the weather gods bless you

Visited Tiger Hill and had a wonderful experience. The sunrise over the mountains was stunning, and watching the golden light hit the peaks felt magical. We also had pahad wali Maggie, which tasted amazing in the cold mountain weather. Overall, a beautiful and refreshing visit!

Visited the Peace Pagoda in Darjeeling during our trip, and it truly left me feeling calm and blessed. Such a beautiful and peaceful temple—surrounded by mountains, greenery, and fresh air. The place has a very calming energy, and the white pagoda itself is so stunning and serene. I went there with my husband, and we both felt a deep sense of peace just walking around. It is simply great experience. It's located away from crowdy Darjeeling town, the place is great for a pleasant and calm stay. Mountains are visible from the broad window. Ropeway can be seen too. Service is great. Uncle is great, he takes due care of guests. Food is tasty. Only thing rooms are a bit shabby, there is no long mirror, and there is some issue in electric line. Lights get automatically switched on/ off. Rooms are spacious. A bit cleaning and arranging staff would make it 100/100. It's pocket friendly as well.

Really nice place to chill and relax if you really want to disconnect from overcrowded Darjeeling, the host was really really helpful , Dikki didis food was really good . Just One lil problem is you , there is really poor internet network , So if you really want to disconnect thn it's a perfect place for you ♥️ Overall cleanliness was good

The one thing that hits you as you visit this place is the humbleness of Mr Rajesh. He is a person with a golden heart. He makes you feel like a guest treats you like a guest and is always with a smile. I am trying my best at being modest but this man has so much in him to like. Being a one man army he is very helpful and tries his best to fulfil all tantrums which the tourists bring to him. Generally people are circumspect being in an unknown place, but this man literally makes you feel at home. Special mention to the food he serves its just yummy.This is not a luxurious place but just apt for tourists also there is a car park very near to this property. The clock chime in a chilled night from North Point School was so beautiful.I Will have only good words for this place and Mr Rajesh and his friend Kenny who was there during our visit. May God help them to have success in life.

I have been to this homestay for quite a number of times now. The homestay is 3 minutes (walking distance) away from the shared taxi stand (aka Singamari Motor stand). As you walk towards the homestay, you will be able to see one of the reputed schools, St Joseph's school, locally known as 'NP', North Point, in Darjeeling. When you arrive, you will find that the place has 3 rooms. Two large rooms which can sleep 5 people each (if you don't mind sharing beds) and another room which can sleep 2 people comfortably. All three rooms have attached bathrooms with electric hot water geysers. On clear days, the views from the rooms can be pretty spectacular. Even the Kanchenjunga mountains can be seen from the rooms. The cable cars/ropeway passes by the homestay and can be a very interesting experience watching the reactions of people inside the cars. Dikki, the owner's sister, is the lady who will be responsible for cooking your meals and hosting you. She is a polite, warm and cherubic person. The meals prepared by her are quite simple, yet delicious. The perfect example of a home cooked meal. Mr. Rajesh Pradhan, the owner, is a soft spoken, polite and helpful man. If he has time on his hands then he will personally attend to you. The Darjeeling Ropeway Homestay is for people who like the rustic experience of a home rather than people looking for posh and blingy hotel experiences. If you are looking to have the experience of a hotel when you stay here, then this place is not for you. Here, you will be treated as family and not just a paying customer. The most awesome thing of this Homestay is the location. You will get a good view of the 'Queen of Hills'. Foods are good, but not that much spicy. Those people who are health conscious will love it. And last but not the least the behaviour of Rajesh bhai is awesome. ❤️ He is so friendly and honest. You'll definitely love it.

The rooms are a bit shabby but the woman in charge is very warm and welcoming. She took very good care of us and tried her best to make us feel comfortable. The view was great, St Joseph's on one side and ropeway on the other. I hope they will maintain their rooms better.

Fantastic place but the road from Tumling will be hell even in a 4x4. It's very cold (once it gets cloudy and chilly) even in October so take appropriate warm clothes. Ideal for treks. Do not mess with the yaks and the horses. The yaks might chase you thinking you have salt. Running water is a big issue here.

West Bengal s highest mountain peak but it is very crowdy. Beautiful sceneries can be seen from here . Most favourite trekking attraction is sandakhfu for trekkers. You can also come this place by landrover but trekking is more adventurous.

One of the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I was there in the month of February 2024. It was a bit off season and at night temperature was around -5 degree. Hotel sunrise is one of the choices for staying there. But when I stayed there , there was no electricity, so as usual there was no room heater or anything to keep us warm, so in that climate condition it was a bit difficult for all the travellers. Even glass windows were frozen inside the room. But the very next day when we saw the clear sky and the beautiful sunrise , all our exhaustion had turned into joy and happiness.you can visit the place either by hiking or by car , you can reach to Manibhanjan from NJP , from Manibhanjan you can hire a guide if you want to reach the place by trekking,it’s a 4 days trek only for sandakphu , and if you want to cover Phalut , then it’s a 5 days trek. Another option is you can take the legendary Land Rover or Mahindra Marshal kind of jeeps to reach there. If the sky is clear then you can see the most mesmerising view of Kanchanjunga range. The last 14 km trekking from Tumling to Sandakphu is totally WORTH it!! I would suggest everyone who lives in West Bengal to atleast visit this place once in their lifetime. This place is indescribable and unbelievably BEAUTIFUL! ❤️ One of the best place I've been. Very cheap, if you know the place and people. If you want to go by car, book Land rover car from the ticket counter. It will be very cheap for you. PLEASE don't allow the "Tour Guide" book the Hotels and Cars, they will charge double. The Guide will tell you Hotels/cars are not available etc... Just to fill up their pockets. Always book cars and hotels by yourself. Don't go for so called guides (dalals). People are very nice and helpful over there.. I've been to this place two times.

Protected Area Information Name: Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve Type: Wildlife Reserve Established.: 1976 Area (sq. km.): 176.00 Buffer Zone (sq.km.): 173.50 Description: Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve lies on the floodplains of the Sapta Koshi River in the south-eastern Terai. The reserve was gazetted in 1976 to preserve habitat for the only remaining population of Wild buffalo, Arna (Bubalus arnee). The 176 sq. km. reserve is Nepal's smallest wildlife reserve. The eastern and western embankments of the Sapta Koshi River define the area. In 1987, Koshi Tappu was declared a Ramsar site, a wetland of international significance. Government of Nepal has declared the buffer zone ( 173.5 sq. km ) surrounding the reserve in 2004. Additional Information Features: The Sapta Koshi is one of the three main tributaries of the Ganges- Rapid and intense flooding of the reserve, occur during the rainy season. The Koshi Barrage is an extremely important resting place for many migratory birds, containing 87 winter and trans-Himalayan migratory species. The Koshi River is home to 80 species of fish. The endangered Gharial crocodile and Gangetic dolphin have been recorded in the river as well. During winter, many of the migratory birds can be seen on the Koshi Barrage and on the river channel. Migration usually peaks around mid March. Much wildlife visits these areas during dusk and dawn. The clear skies allow for beautiful sights of several Himalayan peaks including Makalu (8463m), the world's fifth highest peak.Visitors can arrange elephant ride from Reserve Headquarters How to get there: Daily bus (Day and Night) service is available from Kathmandu to Kakarbhitta and Biratnagar. There are also daily flights to Biratnagar, visitors flying to Biratnagar will have to take a bus and should stop at Jamuha. The Reserve Headquarters is located at Kusaha Sunsari district. There are a few lodges and teashop near the Reserve Headquarter. Visitors are advised to carry first-aid kit including medicines for intestinal problems. There is a phone at the Headquarters.

Nothing much to see except some pet elephants. Maybe I was expecting too much. I travelled from dbg to Kosi tapu by bike. The ticket only for two people was 700INR or 1000 nepali rupees as we were from India. It's just 100 rupees for nepalis and it was not worth that money at all for us because the elephants out of the sanctuary and hence free as they were domesticated and kept in chains.

Janakpur Railway Station is a convenient transit point for traveling between Nepal and India. The train timings are punctual, and I had a comfortable journey in the AC coach to Jayanagar, India. The ticket prices are fair, but the train stops feel unnecessarily long. Local buggies around the station are quite congested. The biggest drawback is the cleanliness—it definitely needs better maintenance. Overall, a decent travel option with room for improvement!

NRW is pride of Nepal but train fair is too expensive of AC compartment from Janakpur to Jayanagar. NRW must provide facilities in this fair.

I was late to reach Janakpur railway station. I want to travel our own train to the Jayanagar. Better next time for sure.

The waiting area was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating and amenities such as Wi-Fi, and clean restrooms. I also appreciated the wide range of food and beverage options available at the station's vendors, which made waiting for my train a more enjoyable experience. The station's platform was also well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy for me to board my train without any confusion or hassle. The train itself was clean and comfortable, with ample seating and air conditioning to keep passengers cool during the journey. One of the highlights of Janakpur Railway Station is its beautiful architecture, which blends traditional Nepalese design with modern construction. The station's façade is adorned with intricate carvings and colorful murals, adding a touch of local culture and history to the overall experience.

Jaanki temple pride of mithila. It reminds us the glory of mithila, raja janak and mata sita. My nani always wanted to visit Janki temple, so we all decided to go to Janki temple. So We hired a car and went to Janki temple. Reaching there we saw the temple, a high white colored temple in which red and green colors were also used; its grandeur was spreading in all four directions. Our day was good, so we could have darshan of mata sita very easily. The attitude of the pujari's of the temple was very good towards the devotees. The temple was quite clean. We also saw the marriage place, it was also equally grand. Everything in the entire temple was very good except one thing and that was the toilet, the toilet was arranged at a distance where a lady used to sit and before using the toilet we had to pay money, without money she would not let us go inside. Due to her we and more than us our ladies faced a lot of problems.

Got a chance to see the temple in Dusshera. Temple is very much adhered by the public of sitamarhi & is a one of the famous religious place of Bihar. Even people from Nepal and other parts of country also visit the temple. It is said that Goddess Sita was born here at the home of Lord Janak. On different occasions 'jhanki' is also carried. People believe this temple very auspicious and so am I.

Monastery is on the hill so pay transfer the most up or be prepared a climb a bit. Monastery with thousands buddha is nice inside, but no photo allowed. No entrance fee. There are 2 vistas: inside the monastery ať the top of white stupa and second is with path from this stupa to small top of hill to see the himalaian massive with the monastery.

“Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery” or”Namo Buddha Monastery” is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery about 40 km southeast of Kathmandu Valley. It lies at the top of the hill in Namo Buddha Municipality. According to legend, 6000 years ago Prince Mahasatwo (also known as Ngingdui Tshenpo) discovered a starving tigress and her five cubs. To save the lives of the tigers, Mahasatwo cut his body so that the warm blood drew the tigress to him. The tigress ate the prince and left only his bones. The bones of the prince were brought back to the village and buried in a tomb which became the stupa of Namo Buddha.

Recently stayed here for 4 nights and was immersed in the Buddhist way of life. Puja twice a day with the monks as well as the dining experiences with them was fantastic. The food was tasty and the room was clean and comfortable. Spectacular views looking out to the Himalayas also and with the luscious valleys below. A lovely experience.

Famous Buddist Temple in Kathmandu . Ticket is required . Taken direct froom booth at entrance . To enter the main temple need to take off shoes . The temple has White paint on the floor and dome with column in the middle , buddah eye on four directions . Numerous Colorful flags hanging . Very busy spot with locals , religous buddist and tourists . Around it there are coffe shops and a lot of souvenir shops . Very touristic area . So mostly crowded . And the street near it is crazy congested with traffic cars , bikes .

It is a sacred place where one can introspect and escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This place is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Nepal.

In case you wish to visit the biggest Stupa in Kathmandu and also take advantage of many stores and coffee shops around, this Stupa will exceed your expectations! You can also enjoy the view from a roof top café overlooking the temple or simply walk up the building facing the main entrance of the stupa which also forms part of the temple!

Amazing place with lot of people whole day. You need to buy ticket at the entrance and keep it - you can use it for next 7 days to enter again for free. You go 360° around and if yoz want go up on stupa you need long pants and shoes off. In every building there is a roof top terase with nice view and food or drink. The best is around 1 - 2pm be here.

Even if your religion is different, this is definitely a must-see in Kathmandu, it feels like a real spiritual journey! Luckily, some friends showed us the proper way to do it. Just be mindful of others and keep quiet while doing the “ritual.” We ended up doing three circles around the stupa, and it was such a peaceful experience.

Visited Boudhha Stupa and the place felt calm the moment I walked in. The peaceful energy, the sound of prayer wheels, and people walking around the stupa make you feel grounded. Sitting there quietly, watching the flags move with the wind and the clouds above, felt really soothing. A perfect place to pray, breathe, and connect with peace.

Set up fee years back to burn dead body to save environment pollution. It helps to save forest and keep clean air. The Pashupati development fund have to manage waste clothes of death body and things offered by visitors.

In future it can be the last stop for every travellers. It could work to reduce environment pollution and deforestation. It definitely reduce pain of cremation by hiding from the sight of family and friends. Great initiative taken by "Pasupati chetra bikas kosh" and should be followed by every Province, District and zonal administration.

The temple’s spiritual energy is beyond words — peaceful, powerful, and full of devotion. Watching the evening aarti together by the Bagmati River filled our hearts with calm and gratitude. The chants, incense, and sacred atmosphere made us feel deeply connected to Lord Shiva. A place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. 🙏🕉️

Very nice temple of lord shiva. Vibe is also very positive. Temple area is very vast and clean. From main gate to temple you will have to walk more. There is also time for temple to open so please see to it before reaching there or you will have to wait. At the backside of the temple, there is a river where dead peoples rituals is done.

This is a must do in Kathmandu. A large temple complex on the banks of the river. What is incredible is that you get to see locals cremating family members on the banks of the river in traditional Hindu style; both moving and fascinating. You are allowed to take photos and this is a daily event. It costs 1000 NRP to enter the temple for foreigners. You will probably be approached by a guide, which I would recommend, but agree a price up front. We paid 20 USD, but you can pay in NPR.

A must visit in Kathmandu. It's is a large temple complex that offer funeral and praying ceremony. Ticket is around 1000rs but make sure you have stamina to walk and climb around.

Gardens of Dreams is a beautiful and peaceful place with lovely gardens and a relaxing atmosphere. The greenery and fountains make it a perfect spot for photography and unwinding. However, I found the staff to be quite rude, which was disappointing. Despite that, the garden itself is well-maintained and definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves nature and tranquility.

Bordering on kitsch but a lovely oasis in the middle of the city. It was very peaceful and I recommend an expresso and baked yogurt at the Kaiser Cafe for a nice relaxing view. Personal favourite was Goddess Nike means Lakshmi and the backstory explained on the panel. This sudden European garden stands out as an oddity but nice nonetheless. There is an entry fee of Nepali Rs 400.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a living reminder of Nepal’s rich royal past. As you walk through the narrow, vibrant lanes to reach this square, you’ll be transported to a different era. You’ll feel the sense of antiquity as soon as you enter. The palaces, temples, and carved woodwork showcase Nepal’s amazing history and culture. The first thing that strikes you is the stunning architecture. The square is a collection of temples, shrines, courtyards, and palaces. At its core is the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, which was once the residence of the kings of Kathmandu. Although much of it is now used as a museum. Another attraction is the Kumari Ghar—the abode of the living goddess Kumari, where a young girl is worshipped as the embodiment of divine power. Another attraction is the Taleju Temple, the tallest structure in the square. Although only Hindus can enter. Nearby is a huge statue of Kalbhairav, a fearsome form of Lord Shiva. Even today, devotees come here to pray. Although several temples were damaged in the 2015 earthquake, craftsmen are still rebuilding the temples as perfectly as possible. If you are visiting Kathmandu, then Kathmandu Durbar Square should not be missed. It is a perfect blend of history and culture. Whether you are a history buff, a photographer, a culture lover, or just a curious traveler, Kathmandu Durbar Square has something for everyone.

A very beautiful place. It's rich in Nepal's modern and past history. I highly recommend hiring a guide; they'll tell you about each temple and statue. It'll take about an hour or a little more to see all the temples and listen to the history. I was accompanied by a guide named Uddab, who speaks excellent English and has a very engaging story.

Vibrant industry see when you are in Kathmandu even for a couple of hours! If you would like to enjoy the view of the entire square, just walk up to one of the many roop top cafés and restaurants overlooking Durbar Square!

What a fascinating place. Went by night and again by day. Spent nearly 4 hours exploring the square. Recommend the museum albeit small. Several structures damaged by the 2015 earthquake are now open to the public but the scars are still very visible. Also recommend the small baoli/water catchment near by.

An Unesco world heritage site, and must visit in Kathmandu. It's not far from the Thamel area. Very lively place, full with locals and tourist.

Perched atop a hill, this ancient stupa is not only considered the birthplace of Buddhist faith in Nepal but also draws countless pilgrims and visitors with its unique architectural features and breathtaking panoramic views of the city. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and embodies the essence of Nepali culture. ​The core of the stupa is a monumental white hemispherical base, symbolizing the world and the cosmos. Above it proudly stands a gilded rectangular harmika (the base of the spire), upon which the unforgettable All-Seeing Eyes of the Buddha are painted on all four sides. These eyes gaze out in every direction, representing the Buddha's omniscience, wisdom, and compassion for all beings. The symbol resembling the Nepali numeral "१" (number 1) between the eyes is interpreted as the single path to liberation, which is through the Dharma. Extending upward, the thirteen tiered spire symbolizes the thirteen stages of spiritual attainment that practitioners must achieve to reach complete enlightenment. ​Swayambhunath's history dates back to a legendary era. Nuwakot Durbar Square is a truly historic and culturally rich place but it still needs a lot of proper maintenance and preservation work. Unfortunately it has been commercialized too much, which takes away from its original charm. The government should take serious steps to preserve its historic value and maintain its true heritage

Maisthan Mandir in Birgunj is a lovely and peaceful place. It has many small temples around it. The colorful statues are very beautiful. I visit it every time I go to Birgunj. You can buy prasad from the shops outside or just pray and take blessings from the goddess🙏

It is situated at the focal point of a bustling business sector. It is a little sanctuary of hindu goddess. In this way, on the off chance that you are visiting Birgunj and want to love the goddess, you may go there. You should remove your shoes at the passageway by side of the road. Little eateries are around there and you might need to taste aalu chaat there. Goods, vegetables and organic products are sold around the sanctuary.This places gets crowded in the festival seasons.

The Manakamana Cable Car bottom station is well-managed and sets the right tone for the journey ahead. The facilities are organized, clean, and visitor-friendly, with clear ticketing counters and waiting areas. Staff are helpful and guide you smoothly through the boarding process. The station offers a comfortable start before you ascend, with options for refreshments and basic amenities available. From here, the cable car ride to the Manakamana Temple is not only convenient but also scenic, giving you a breathtaking view of the hills and river below. Overall, the bottom station is efficient, well-maintained, and makes the entire pilgrimage or visit to Manakamana a pleasant experience right from the beginning.

Very scenic. Worth the price. Online tickets are available and I recommend that. They stop for lunch (12:45 - 13:30, as I recall), so time correctly.

We visited the day after Teej...No Line no people there..Cable car was empty...So we went up and came back after darshan in just 1 and half hour including all the photo taking rituals😂 And also the puja was done efficiently by pandits inside... the Manakamana Cable Car bottom station at Kurintar offers a well-organized and efficiently great starting point for the journey to the Famous Manakamana Temple. The station is clean and freshly maintained...The queueing system, while potentially very long on peak days like festivals and holidays, is generally well-managed. The staff are helpful and the safety features of the Austrian-imported cable car system are clearly highlighted, instilling confidence in visitors Cable car Carrying capacity 6 person /450kg per gondola and 660 persons per hour...Ticket cost 770 per person normal nepali...25% discount for students and senior citizen above 70+... Beyond just a boarding point, the station complex includes amenities like restrooms, a cafeteria, and small shops like Nds icecream and miniso, which are convenient for pilgrims and tourists alike. The surrounding views of the Trishuli River and the lush hills are a great award to the breathtaking aerial journey ahead. This station efficiently transforms a tedious trek into a comfortable and scenic 10-minute ride, making the pilgrimage accessible to a wider range of visitors. It’s a great example of modern technology meeting traditional culture in Nepal.

Manakamana Temple: Manakamana Temple (Nepali: Manakamana Mandir), Meaning 'temple that grants wishes of its devotees', the name "Manakamana" is said to come from two words: "mana," meaning heart, and "kamana," meaning wish. It is a Hindu temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Bhagwati, who is believed to grant wishes. It is founded by Arman Rayamajhi in 1678. The temple is a popular pilgrimage destination, located on a hilltop with views of the mountains. Visitors can reach the temple by a cable car ride, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The Manakamana Temple is located 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) above sea level on the Kafakdada Hill which sits in the confluence between Trishuli and Marsyangdi in the Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality in Gorkha, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is approximately 106 kilometres (66 mi) west of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and about 94 kilometres (58 mi) east of Pokhara. Many mountains can be seen from the hill including Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and Baudha which is part of Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world. According to Nepali legend, Manakamana Temple was built in the 17th century during the reign of two Kings of Gorkha, Ram Shah or Prithvipati Shah. The Queen of Gorkha possessed "divine powers" of Manakamana which was only known by the priest Lakhan Thapa of Magar origin. One fine day, the king saw his wife in form of Goddess Manakamana, and priest as a lion, after he told her about this the king mysteriously died. Per historical Hindu practice of Sati, the queen sacrificed herself by sitting atop her deceased husband's funeral pyre. Prior to her death, she told St. Lakhan Thapa Magar that she would appear again, six months later, a farmer working on the field split a stone which apparently started a stream of blood and milk. After hearing about this, St. Lakhan Thapa Magar went to where the stone was located and started to do Hindu tantric rituals which halted the stream. Later he built a shrine at the same spot so that their wishes can come true, and also the priest of the temple should necessarily be a descendant of Saint Lakhan Thapa Magar who is described as a spiritual guide for Ram Shah.

We visited the day after Teej...No Line no people there..Cable car was empty...So we went up and came back after darshan in just 1 and half hour including all the photo taking rituals😂 And also the puja was done efficiently by pandits inside for about 5 minutes without any pressure...there are lots of puja samagri sellers and bhojanalayas owners who insist and force you to take or buy their items or eat in their place...Its quiet noisy environment there...But the temple premises is serene tranquil and calm as well as peaceful!!! People offer goat as their devotion!!! and fly pigeons too..Even this is rainy season/ kind of summer too but this is the best time to vist here...as most of the people take rest after Teej..and this is non weekend time too...so we got blessed with shorter lines and queues both for temple and cable car boarding and returning back....😊 Will visit again..before this had visited in 2014 August and 2017 November!!! this time 2025 August...hope Mata Manakamana calls soon!!!

Very nice place to visit. We get blessings of lord Bhairav & Devi. Whatever prayers we make gets fulfilled. Only thing is there are around 40 to 50 steps to climb and go slow and you will be able to achieve

🌿 I had an amazing experience at Chitwan Jungle Safari! The trip was well organized, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and I got to see rhinos, deer, and many beautiful birds. The nature, river view, and peaceful jungle atmosphere were unforgettable. Highly recommend this place to everyone who loves wildlife and adventure! 🌳🐘✨

Instead of using an agency, I went straight to the checkpoint and purchased the safari directly from the guide, Jungle Man, who is in the last photo. There is only one official operator of the jeep tours inside the park, and all the agents sell the same offers. I received offers ranging from 1600 to 2500 for the exact same trip. Ultimately, I purchased the safari directly from the guide for 1720, which included the entrance fee for the crocodile farm. Additionally, I paid 2000 for the permit, which is valid for one day inside the park and one day in the perimeter zone, totaling two days. Most people I spoke to did a 4-hour jeep safari inside the park, like I did, and a 4-hour morning hike in the perimeter area. There is also an option for a whole day hiking safari, but I don't have any feedback on that one. We also encountered at least three pairs of hikers inside the park. Such hikes require two guides for protection. Both the walk inside the park and the walk in the perimeter zone were highly recommended by everyone I spoke to. They mentioned that they could observe animals up close, and since the walk is silent and there are only a few people, it doesn't scare the animals away. The jeep safari was fantastic as well. We saw a total of 13 rhinos on seven different occasions. Additionally, we saw at least 100 deer that looked like Bambi, one large black deer, some wild pigs, multiple different bird species, and our jeep even got stuck in a ditch, which was quite exciting on its own. I regret not staying one more day to do the hike instead of rushing to Kathmandu. I had the time, and it would have been worth it.

It was a great experience. FOUR hours of ride inside jungle as a jungle safari was a big memorandum.We got chance to see one horn rihno, leopard, deer etc during this ride. The flying peacock was just amazing.

An awesome place to spend all day long with friends. But tune down your expectation of watching wild animals running wild in jungle. Might happen if you are very lucky

The good: Elephants look healthy and calm with shelter from the sun and plenty of food and water. Does look like it’s kept clean. The elephants interact with people daily with the trainer feeding the calf sugarcane. The “not so good”…: the adult elephants are kept (on very short) chains during part of the day… and supposedly they are free to roam the jungle the other part of the day… I guess we are mindful we don’t really know how long they are chained up during the day - it could very well be 5 minutes or 20 hours…

Ambient and nice places to go . Tickets are only required to visit inside centre. One can enjoy green lust of fields outside the centre which is spread in large area didn’t require any tickets.

Nice place to see elephants but when we went they were all chained up so pretty sad. Some reviews show them roaming freely but we didn't see any roaming free. Pretty small place. You have to cross a big bridge to get there, but you can see everything in less than an hour unless you decide to roam around off pavement. We bought sugar cane to feed the elephants so it was still a good experience to see mom and babies.

Stop going there! We witnessed them hit a baby elephant with a stick that had metal on it. The elephants are chained (elephants are not domestic animals), and they set things on fire near them, then move away to avoid the smoke while the elephants are left surrounded by it. It's a place of pain. In the forest, they beat them to force them to gather what they need (just walked by and it was painful to watch.)

The place is nice. But not much you can expect. These looked like more for short stay elephants. You will see some small once’s running around or being chained near their mothers. The place can be visited in the morning within an hour max. Nothing much to do or see. The place is serene and nice for an early morning stroll. If you are lucky you may see a group of deers wondering outside the breeding area.

Very cute little elephants roaming free is the best view. Lots of elephants here. This place has upgraded since the last time with a huge bridge that's just across the river which else had to be crossed on a canoe made of tree hollowed out. It's a nice place to meet nature but. It's a breeding and training center for elephants.

I visited this place as part of a travel agency's arrangement, but after seeing it, I wouldn't recommend it at all. It's an extremely small area, so small that you can walk through it in just five minutes. What’s even more distressing is that the elephants' situation is a form of cruelty, both to the elephants themselves and to those who come to see them. The elephants are chained by their legs for some unknown reason, and some even have their two front legs shackled together, making them only able to hop rather than walk. I saw the elephants pacing restlessly and crying out in anxiety. Some people might find the elephants' calls intriguing, but all I felt throughout my visit was a deep sense of sorrow.

Chitwan National Park is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. The natural beauty is breathtaking, the lush greenery, wildlife all around, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you slow down and truly enjoy the moment. Watching the sunset from the bank of the Rapti River was magical, with the sky reflecting on the water in the most stunning colors. I also had the chance to meet some wonderful local people, whose warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special. Ending the day with the Tharu cultural dance was the perfect touch: joyful, vibrant, and a beautiful way to connect with the local traditions. It was more than just a trip; it felt like a meaningful experience that I’ll always cherish.

A beautiful taste of the jungle. Keep safari was disappointing however the canoe ride absolutely made up for this. Guides are professional. I wouldn’t recommend staying for more than a few days, once you’ve seen the local culture and experienced the safaris I would move onto your next destination. Plenty of options on the main high street to eat and drink. Worth a stop, but wouldn’t make this the focal point of your trip as I personally believe Nepal has more to offer!

Main attractions are closed for 3 months ( July , August and September) if you travel during these 3 months you will only be allowed to do safari in buffer zone and outer zone. Try not to visit during these months. Overall good experience, spotting a Tiger is by luck but you will surely spot Deers, Crocodile, Rhino, Monkey

Loved the park. Beautiful landscapes. The bars in the village by the river are a perfect place for a beer at sunset. I’ve enjoyed both the tours by Jeep than the ones by canoe and walking.

Lake was located about 20 kilometers southeast via Prithivi Highway on the way toward Kathmandu. A beautifully elongated lake with a lot of floras & faunas. Lot of birds were seen around. Cage & pen fish farming was seen. Few wooden boats were at the edge of lake to be hired for a ride. Beautiful view of both Rupa & Begnas lake was seen from the view tower above the hill top.

Lake located in Lekhnatha Area.located at an elevation of 600 meters and covered an area of 135 hectares nominated as the third largest lake of the valley among others 9 lakes. The deepest point of the lakes measures 6 meters. 28 species of native fishes and 11 exotic species have been recorded from the lake.

Beautiful lake.. but it's like ignored, there's no infrastructure build to attract tourist. It's like a forgotten lake even though it's very close to Pokhara city. Government and locals should involve to build tourist attractions there.

A place to be indeed.A newly raod constructed as well as suspension bridge over the lake.therefor,more and more local tourist are fascinating to visit wonderful lake .It has also local community to protect various fish and sell on market which taste is super delicious and equally healthy. Rupa Lake or Rupa Tal is a freshwater lake in Nepal located in Kaski District. It is the third biggest lake in the Pohara valley of Nepal and at an altitude of 600 m (1,969 ft) covering an area of about 1.35 km2 (0.5 sq mi) with an average water depth of 3 m and a maximum depth of 6 m. Rupa Lake is a blessing from Mother Nature and has been there since the rise of humanity. As this lake resides further away from the landmass of Pokhara, it does not get the appeal that it deserves. In recent times, due to the crash in the Tourism Industry, Rupa Lake is gaining quite a bit of attention and praise. It is less congested than Phewa Lake, and you can enjoy the tranquility and chirping of birds. .

Personally, I didnt like the lake but I guess it is nice sometime to visit it when the water isnt turbid. It is one of the larger lakes of Pokhara city which is separated by a hill slope from the Begnas lake and is surrounded by very inactive Zoological park.
