Nestled on a serene hillside just 3–5 km from Darjeeling town, Dali Monastery (Druk Thupten Sangag Choling Monastery) is an unmissable destination for travelers seeking spirituality, stunning architecture, and a glimpse into Tibetan Buddhist heritage. This Kargyupa sect monastery, built in 1971 and inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1993, is home to over 200 monks and stands out as one of Darjeeling’s largest and most tranquil monasteries. Surrounded by lush greenery, the entire area feels untouched, serene, and refreshingly pure. Refreshments shops are also available at this point. Please note: reaching this spot isn’t easy. 🌿 Rock Garden, Darjeeling – A Hidden Gem in the Hills! Visited the Rock Garden recently and it was an amazing experience! The beautifully layered rock steps, cascading waterfalls, and lush greenery make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The cool breeze, sound of flowing water, and scenic mountain backdrop create a peaceful vibe you won’t find elsewhere. There are plenty of great photo spots and places to sit and enjoy the view. It’s also a good spot for a quiet picnic or just a walk to unwind. The road to the garden is a bit steep and winding, but the journey is worth it once you reach this beautiful location. Highly recommended for nature lovers, couples, and families visiting Darjeeling. A peaceful escape from the hustle of town, and definitely worth adding to your itinerary!

This is an awesome place to visit with family and friends 😊.the waterfalls, environment, ambience, view everything is too good. If anyone goes there surely they will enjoy it. Me and my family go there twice and we like this place, especially my grandfather likes this place too much ,although he can't climb stairs but still he enjoyed it. You don't need to enter and the ticket price is also reasonable. But there was a thing that you knew before you went to visit, that is the price of everything there is 5 rupees more than the MRP.
Arzu R — Google review
Wowwww what a beautiful place,,,,The Rock Garden is a very beautiful place. You can climb very high and there are many waterfalls, but the road to get here is very bad.You have to be very careful here, the road here is very steep. Since you have to go down a lot, the road is very bad, but once you go, you are bound to feel better.
Pinki G — Google review
Okay listen—if you think this is just a cute little picnic spot with a pretty waterfall… THINK AGAIN. I went in thinking it’s a chill place. Ten minutes in, I was climbing stairs like I was in a Himalayan boot camp! 🥵💪 You have to walk… and walk… and WALK. At one point, I thought I’d need oxygen and a rescue team. My legs filed an official complaint against me halfway up. 😩 BUT—plot twist—the views? STUNNING. Like nature said, “Yeah I made you suffer, but here’s your reward.” The waterfall is beautiful, the rocks are dramatic, and the vibe is like a nature spa if you ignore the 100 people taking selfies all around you. 📷💦 Always packed. You won’t be alone unless you visit at sunrise (and even then, uncle-ji with the DSLR will be there before you). So final verdict: Great for Instagram, terrible for lazy people. Wear shoes. And if you can’t walk a lot—just look at the pictures online and save your knees. 😂

Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery, more commonly known as Bokar Monastery, is a sanctuary of peace and a beacon of Buddhist learning nestled in the serene hills of Mirik, West Bengal. It is a truly remarkable place. Perched at the highest point of Mirik, the monastery offers a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding landscape, including the tranquil Sumendu Lake. The clean, well-maintained premises and the quiet, spiritual atmosphere make it a perfect destination for those seeking a respite from the clamor of daily life. This monastery is not just a place of worship; it is a thriving monastic center where nearly 500 monks are devoted to studying, practicing, and sustaining the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is home to a monastic college (Shedra) and hosts regular retreats.

Beautiful place, very peaceful place, Whether you're a spiritual seeker, a lover of nature, or a cultural enthusiast, Mirik Monastery offers a soulful retreat away from the hustle of everyday life. It’s one of the lesser-known treasures of North Bengal and truly worth a visit.
Keya B — Google review
This is a very important Buddhist monastery. It is located in Mirik city in Darjeeling district, West Bengal, India. It can be reached by crossing a road distance of 46 km from Siliguri city and a distance of 13 km from Pashupatinathnagar on the Nepal-India border. Mirik is a major tourist city. Mirik Lake, this monastery, Swiss Cottage, etc. are the main attractions here. The weather here remains cool even during summer. It is a little colder during winter. Therefore, warm clothes are required here. This monastery was built four five decades ago. Before this, there was an old monastery. Here, Lamas teach children to propagate Buddhism. Tibetan medical system services are also available here. A visit to this monastery can be useful when coming to Mirik. It is located at a high altitude. It would be better to take a local taxi.

Simana View Point

Lookouts
Located at an elevation of 7500 feet, Simana Viewpoint is a plateau measuring 60 feet by 40 feet, providing stunning vistas of the adjacent plains, the snow-covered summits of Mount Kanchenjunga, and the small villages of Nepal. The term 'Simana' translates to 'border' in Hindi. This region marks the Indo-Nepal border, with the road being part of India while the viewing area is situated in Nepal. However, visitors are permitted to cross over to enjoy the captivating scenery.
Somnath M — Google review
🌄 Simana View Point – Beautiful Scenery, But Needs Better Maintenance 🌄 Simana View Point, located on the India-Nepal border, is truly a breathtaking destination. It’s a must-visit spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. From here, you can clearly see the Nepal border, and the background is often graced with a stunning view of the Himalayan mountains, making it a perfect place to capture some memorable photographs. The view, especially on a clear day, is simply amazing. You can spot the distant hills and valleys, and the unique feeling of being so close to an international border adds to the charm of the place. However, while the natural beauty is remarkable, the cleanliness of the spot is disappointing. Many tourists, especially some from West Bengal, tend to throw garbage around carelessly. There seems to be zero civic sense, and it’s painful to see such a scenic location being spoiled by plastic wrappers, bottles, and waste. It’s a humble request to visitors: please respect nature and do not litter. Also, a quick tip for travelers — the local shop near the viewpoint remains closed on Mondays, so if you’re planning to visit, avoid that day if you’re expecting to grab a tea, snack, or souvenir. ⸻ Overall Rating: 3.8/5 ✅ Amazing mountain views ✅ Nepal border visible ✅ Great spot for photos ❌ Poor cleanliness due to irresponsible tourists ❌ Shops closed on Mondays Final Thoughts: Simana View Point is worth visiting for its scenic beauty and peaceful atmosphere. But the charm of the place can be preserved only if we, as visitors, act responsibly. Let’s keep our hills as clean as our camera rolls!

Fantastic place but the road from Tumling will be hell even in a 4x4. It's very cold (once it gets cloudy and chilly) even in October so take appropriate warm clothes. Ideal for treks. Do not mess with the yaks and the horses. The yaks might chase you thinking you have salt. Running water is a big issue here.

West Bengal s highest mountain peak but it is very crowdy. Beautiful sceneries can be seen from here . Most favourite trekking attraction is sandakhfu for trekkers. You can also come this place by landrover but trekking is more adventurous.
Debraj B — Google review
One of the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I was there in the month of February 2024. It was a bit off season and at night temperature was around -5 degree. Hotel sunrise is one of the choices for staying there. But when I stayed there , there was no electricity, so as usual there was no room heater or anything to keep us warm, so in that climate condition it was a bit difficult for all the travellers. Even glass windows were frozen inside the room. But the very next day when we saw the clear sky and the beautiful sunrise , all our exhaustion had turned into joy and happiness.you can visit the place either by hiking or by car , you can reach to Manibhanjan from NJP , from Manibhanjan you can hire a guide if you want to reach the place by trekking,it’s a 4 days trek only for sandakphu , and if you want to cover Phalut , then it’s a 5 days trek. Another option is you can take the legendary Land Rover or Mahindra Marshal kind of jeeps to reach there. If the sky is clear then you can see the most mesmerising view of Kanchanjunga range. I am sharing some photos from my gallery. Keep travelling keep knowing the u know.

The last 14 km trekking from Tumling to Sandakphu is totally WORTH it!! I would suggest everyone who lives in West Bengal to atleast visit this place once in their lifetime. This place is indescribable and unbelievably BEAUTIFUL! ❤️ One of the best place I've been. Very cheap, if you know the place and people. If you want to go by car, book Land rover car from the ticket counter. It will be very cheap for you. PLEASE don't allow the "Tour Guide" book the Hotels and Cars, they will charge double. The Guide will tell you Hotels/cars are not available etc... Just to fill up their pockets. Always book cars and hotels by yourself. Don't go for so called guides (dalals). People are very nice and helpful over there.. I've been to this place two times.

Nothing much to see except some pet elephants. Maybe I was expecting too much. I travelled from dbg to Kosi tapu by bike. The ticket only for two people was 700INR or 1000 nepali rupees as we were from India. It's just 100 rupees for nepalis and it was not worth that money at all for us because the elephants out of the sanctuary and hence free as they were domesticated and kept in chains.

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the sacred Shri Gareeb Nath Mandir as part of a wedding function. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and joy as the baraat made its way to the temple. One of the most touching moments of the celebration was when the groom (dulha) was taken to the temple to offer his pranam to Lord Gareeb Nath before proceeding to the wedding venue. This age-old tradition symbolizes respect, humility, and the seeking of divine blessings for a prosperous and happy married life. The temple, known for its peaceful and spiritual ambiance, was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Sounds of conch shells, temple bells, and traditional music created an enchanting vibe. Friends and family accompanied the groom, all dressed in festive attire, adding to the vibrant energy of the moment. Witnessing the groom bow his head in reverence before starting a new chapter in his life was truly heartwarming. It reflected the deep cultural and spiritual values that continue to hold importance in modern weddings. The entire experience at Shri Gareeb Nath Mandir left a lasting impression—one of faith, celebration, and shared joy.

According to religious beliefs, the history of Baba Garibnath Dham dates back around three hundred years. It is believed that this place was once a dense forest with seven peepal trees in the middle. Legend has it that when these trees were cut, a blood-red substance started oozing out, and a massive Shivalinga was discovered. Locals claim that Baba appeared in the dreams of the landowner, and since then, puja-archana has been performed here. Baba Garibnath Dham is a sacred Hindu site located in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India. Baba Garibnath Dham is one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known as the 'Deoghar of Bihar.' Devotees from across the district and state visit here to offer prayers and seek a better life. It is believed that worshiping during the month of Sawan holds special significance, which helps fulfill all desires.

Konhara Ghat, nestled in Hajipur, Bihar, is a captivating riverbank along the confluence of the Ganga and Gandak rivers. This sacred site has been a hub for Hindu rituals and gatherings for centuries, where worship and cremation coexist harmoniously. The ghat's name is derived from an ancient legend involving Lord Vishnu intervening to save his devotee, Gajaraj the elephant, from a crocodile during their epic battle.
Kaunhara ghat is a river bank in Hajipur in the Indian state of Bihar. Kaunhara ghat is one of the main ghats of the Ganga-Gandak rivers. where worship and cremation have been performed side by side for centuries. Its name stems from a legend, according to which, the fight of Gaja (elephant)–Graah (crocodile), is the reason behind people asking - kaun haara. Lord Vishnu had to interfere to save his devotee Gajaraj from drowning. Both Gaja and Grah were gandharavas. Due to a curse they became Gaja and Graah. Lord Visnu killed Graah to give him instant salvation, and saved Gajaraj. In case you are planning to take a dip in holy Ganges, go for it. Water is relatively clean and ghats are well maintained. This morning pics, when I went to bring some Gangajal for my mandir. You can also enjoy hot and local lemon tea. There is beautiful ganga arti in the evening. I saw few boys enjoying swimming and high jump in the Ganges.

Gandhi ghat is one of the most popular river front of Patna. It's situated on the banks of the Ganges. Also known as NIT (National Institute of Technology) Ghat, it's famous among youth for strolling as well as for mid-aged for veneration. The ghat consists of a samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Indian Republic.

Gandhi Ghat which is also known as NIT ghat, is famous for various reasons. One of the main reason is beauty of the ghats and nowadays cleanliness of the ghat is very nice. Now the Bihar govt has joined all the Ganga ghats with a pathway near the river. The ghats have been decorated beautifully with Madhubani paintings and plants. Ganga arti is also performed here in the evening and young people love to visit here with their friends.
