Puthia Rajbari is a stunning historical site, rich in architecture and heritage. The intricate terracotta temples and grand palace make it a must-visit for history lovers. Though some areas need better preservation, its beauty and cultural significance remain captivating.

Recently I visit Katra Masjid. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I visited in Murshidabad. The massive structure, with its arches and tall minarets, still shows the grandeur of the Nawabi era even though parts are in ruins. Standing inside the courtyard felt like stepping back into history. It’s amazing to know that Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, the founder of Murshidabad, is buried right here at the entrance of the mosque. The place is calm, well-maintained, and perfect for history lovers and photographers alike. A must-visit heritage site if you’re exploring Murshidabad.

An unforgettable experience at Hazarduari Palace.I recently visited this iconic landmark in Murshidabad and was absolutely amazed. The palace itself is stunning, with its grand architecture and beautiful gardens that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The museum inside is well-maintained and holds a fascinating collection of weapons, paintings, antique furniture, and artifacts from the Nawabi era. The Durbar Hall with its giant chandelier was breathtaking! Although photography isn’t allowed inside, the memories are unforgettable. The entire campus, including the Imambara and clock tower, is peaceful and perfect for a heritage walk. I recommend hiring a local guide, as they share incredible stories that bring history alive. Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone who loves history, architecture, or just wants to enjoy a day in a truly majestic setting. I’d happily visit again.

As a tourist I loved it. They also sell rabri and doi here and there in the campus area. You get the vibe the feel and everything you need and hope, afterall rabindranath thakur and his essence is everywhere. People are also peaceful, warm and kind. Absolutely wonderful, worth visiting. Chhatimtala, 5 houses of tagore, the museum, taalgach, and much more to see. Please take a guide they ll tell stories and history..

Bishnupur Pancharatna Temple also known as Shyam Rai Temple was built by King Raghunath Singha in 1643. Pancharatna Mandir stands on a low square plinth and consists of an ambulatory pathway with a porch opened by three arches on the four sides of the temple. The central shikhara is octagonal, while the rest four are square, walls are richly decorated with terracotta carvings featuring life aspects of Lord Krishna. The Pancharatna Temple honours Vishnu as Krishna, reflects the Pancharatna architectural style, and is perhaps West Bengal’s oldest surviving temple representative of this design. In Bengali Panchratna meaning five gem, hence it got the structures of five towers. Built entirely of brick, the only building material abundantly available in the region at the time, the Shyam Rai temple stands on a low square plinth with a char chala roof surmounted by ratnas or gems at each corner. While the towers in the corners are square-shaped, the central tower is octagonal in shape and they rest on a sloping roof in ‘Pida’ order. Each of the four sides of the temple greets us with triple multi cusped arched gateways, leading to the sanctum around which runs a well paved circumambulatory path. The curved cornice and eaves, derived from the thatched bamboo hut, so characteristic of Bengal, are special features of the temple, as of the others in Bishnupur. This style, directly descended from the bamboo framework of the huts, was originally bent into this shape to drain off rain water during frequent and intense downpours. The absence of stone or any other building material did not prove to be a deterrent to the architects and artisans of the times. Rather, they baked tales in clay tiles, narrating episodes from mythology and life, breathing life into bricks to give rise to a new form of temple architecture that lead to the construction of terracotta temples that were elaborately and intricately clad in high quality square panels of terracotta reliefs. The use of bricks in construction obviously meant that the routine column-beam style of building, characteristic of most early Islamic structures, could not be adopted. Hence, arches have been used to span spaces and support the weight above. Yet, a unique feature we observe about the Shyam Rai temple vis-à-vis most of Bishnupur’s temples is the influence of Islamic architecture in its curved ceiling. The Shyam Rai temple, with its superior figurines and floral motifs, was the first of its kind in Bengal. Its exterior and interior walls and ceiling are emblazoned with a profusion of stunning terracotta sculptures portraying Krishna Leela, episodes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and the socio-economic and political life of the people of the times. Particularly brilliant is the rasa mandala which embodies the convergence of artistic and structural knowledge. We also get to see a few specimens of the Gandhar style of sculpture on its walls. It is believed that the artisans of Uliwara and Panchmura villages close by were instrumental in carving high quality terracotta tiles with splendid engravings on them.

One of the most beautiful sea beach I've ever seen. One should come here to enjoy the serene, deserted vibe of a sea beach. There are a few small shops here where one can have sipping coconut water alongwith enjoy the picturesque view of this dreamy sea beach. Some resorts and hotels are also available near this beach. If someone loves serenity and peace, then it's the perfect place to enjoy for them .

We went to Chandaneshwar Shiva temple from Telami High School on Monday at 5:00 A.M. The temple was neat and clean. There were many sweet shops, milk shops, and coconut shops for Puja at RS 20. The pond around the temple was neat and clean and many people were bathing before going to puja. You can give puja to several Brahmins sitting beside the temple. There was a long line for going into the main Shiva temple to give water to the Shiva idol. When you enter the temple there is a rush in the temple and in a few seconds you have to give the coconut water on shiv's idol and go out. There were many low prices handicrafts shops, showpiece shops beside the temple gate . I recommend going to the temple on the weekend and you will feel great and energetic. And there was also a man standing for selling tickets for a special visit. But I say it is a waste of money you stand for only 10-15 minutes and you will enter the temple.

The beach is wonderful. It gives amazing experience. The beach offers a various sorts of rides such as bike riding, horse riding. The seating arrangement is also available at the beach. The were various food stalls from where you can get all types of sea food. This is also good for photos. The beach is not crowded and you can click some amazing pictures. There also some souvenir sold at this place and you can buy for your friends and family.

Who are we to rate Maa Chandi temple. She is beyond all. But if we have to give then it’s the highest stars. The energy at temple can be felt easily if we are little bit aware. Its mesmerising. Chandi Maa is very attractive. A must visit if you are in Cuttack. Seems like some renovation work going on around temple but it cannot disturb the awesomeness of this temple.

The Dhauli Shanti Stupa, located near Bhubaneswar in Odisha, holds great historical and spiritual significance. It is believed to be the site of the Kalinga War (261 BCE), where Emperor Ashoka witnessed massive bloodshed that changed his heart. Deeply moved, Ashoka renounced violence and embraced Buddhism, spreading messages of peace and compassion. The Japanese Buddhist Sangha later built the white Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) here in 1972, symbolizing harmony and non-violence. Surrounded by ancient rock edicts of Ashoka and serene landscapes, Dhauli Shanti Stupa stands as a reminder of transformation, peace, and the universal message of brotherhood. Experience: Not much to explore, but it is a peaceful and pleasant place to visit. The four statues of Buddha each depict a story. I am not sure if private vehicles are allowed near the temple, as we traveled there on a small government bus. The four Buddha statues at Dhauli Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda), Odisha represent the four significant stages of Lord Buddha’s life. Each statue is placed facing one direction of the stupa, symbolizing peace and compassion: Birth of Buddha (Lumbini) – Depicts the moment of Siddhartha Gautama’s birth. Enlightenment (Bodh Gaya) – Represents Buddha attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. First Sermon (Sarnath) – Symbolizes the "Dharmachakra Pravartan" (Turning of the Wheel of Dharma) when he first taught the path. Mahaparinirvana (Kushinagar) – Depicts Buddha’s final departure from the world, symbolizing eternal peace. These statues together narrate Buddha’s journey and convey the message of non-violence, compassion, and universal peace.
